Baumwipfelpfad Harz offers a unique experience for the whole family, featuring a 0.6-mile accessible wooden walkway that takes you through the treetops of the Harz forest landscape. The highlight is an 85-foot-high viewing platform providing stunning panoramic views. Visitors can combine this experience with a cable car ride and even a new zip line adventure to create a circular walk.
One of great ways to spend your whole day in the nature, with gondola ride and zip lining. It’s a great place specially for kids, there are lots of games for kids and a nice short 4d movie theatre!
Sakshi D — Google review
Go for the walk up, ride down option. No dogs allowed on the path, so my wife took our dog on the path below and met us at the other end. The Baumwipfelpfad itself is nice enough, not sure it’s entirely worth the fee. The rest of the hike up to Burgberg was was enough, great for our 4 and 6 year old.
Thomas K — Google review
If you are not scared of heights, you will love this place. You walk among the treetops
Marc L — Google review
Get a combi ticket along with cable car. Nice walk from top of the hill to this place. Kids love it. Also it has informational facts written on the board about nature, dinosaurs etc. to engage kids and grown ups too.
Rahul K — Google review
Very nice experience, we took the Bergbahn and reached the ride to the top, the cable car ride was like 3 to 5 minutes. On top you can enjoy the snow and being on top with nice scenary and of course there's a restaurant where you can have hot drinks and food. We had a lovely lunch. The staff was so friendly. We enjoyed the experience. You can buy a ticket only for the ride or add the treetop walk to it too and whatever else is available depends on the season.
Jumana A — Google review
Great walk for the whole family!
Stellah O — Google review
The ride in the cable car to the top and the Zipline back down was fun. However, the waiting time for your turn was a lot. We had to wait 45 mins for the cable car (lasted 3mins) and close to 1hr for the Zipline (lasted 6mins). The queue for the tickets wasn't too long, it was just the waiting time for your turn that took a while.
Aparajita P — Google review
I had a lot of expectations for this, but I wasn't very happy of the experience overall, because the path is very short and it's expensive to get on top. You can literally have a walk in the forest for free and get the same views. During the winter, the cable car is closed which is the main highlight of this place I would say. In my opinion it is not worth it to visit this place just for the tree path

The Burgberg Cable Car, constructed in 1929 by the Bleichert engineering corporation, ascends to the summit of Großer Burgberg hilltop. With a length of 481 meters, this cable car transports up to 18 people per gondola in just three minutes. It provides an effortless alternative to hiking and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Bad Harzburg, the nearby mountains, and the expansive Harz foothills. Despite personal preferences regarding heights, many visitors find enjoyment in this ride.
Must visit while you are in bad harzburg. Also its near the main road, you can spend 3-4 hours easily while on your way to other cities. Parking: Enough space available next to the park and also on other side of the road. (50 cents for 30mins)
Rahul K — Google review
Convenient transport to go up higher. For adults 5 euros round trip, but my husband and I took only there for 3.50 to walk back. Only two carriages so you have to wait in a queue first for tickets and then for the cable car itself. But it's nice.
Google review
A bit of an adventure to more modern cable railways but the staff is friendly and it's a quick way to get up or down.
Manfred W — Google review
We waited 1.5 hours in a queue on Sunday. It is an old fashioned lift with a low throughput, not enough for so many people.
Sergey T — Google review
Very nice ride. The tree tower had a glass floor which makes me shiver.
Gustav A — Google review
A nice and not so expensive place if you want see the top view and hike down or just go enjoy the view and come down.
Ziauddin R — Google review
Short ride up with the cable car. The view from the top is good, but not great, and the walk back is not worth writing about. However, we can recommend buying the combo-ticket, so you can walk on the Baumwipfelfad on your way back.

The Burgberg Cable Car was built in 1929 by the Bleichert engineering corporation and has a length of 481 metres. Up to 18 people per gondola lift the cable car to the summit in three minutes and for a minimal fee is much easier than hiking up to the summit. You will have an impressive view of Bad Harzburg, the surrounding mountains and the vast Harz foothills. Although I am not a fan of heights, I enjoyed the ride. Cheers!

State park
Kur Park is located just 13 kilometers south of Bad Harzburg, near the Kurpark and the Burgberg. It offers a challenging hiking trail to the highest peak of the Harz Mountains and through the national park. The path, marked with a little devil symbol, presents a demanding hike with an altitude difference of 950 meters. Along the way, hikers can admire the Etter cliffs and visit the whey house where wild animal feeding attracts many visitors.
Just beautiful. If you ever visit Bad Harzburg you just need to visit Kur Park. It's in the city center, a lot of restaurants and cafe's are near, the park is big so you have a lot of space to visit. Coming again!

Thermal baths
Sole-Therme Bad Harzburg is a health spa featuring both indoor and outdoor pools that are supplied by natural brine springs. In addition to the pools, the facility offers sauna facilities and massage services. Visitors have praised the heated pool, hot tub, and various saunas available on site. The thermal water in the pools provides a unique experience, complemented by helpful staff and good food options. This destination comes highly recommended, especially for young families looking for a relaxing retreat.
Crowded, but very beautiful. You can do a lot of saunas (salt, finish, dampf). I would say you should come early, the ticket is very expensive and the price stays the same the whole day.
Codruta S — Google review
Really nice. Actually my first spa experience but it was perfect. I was exhausted and sore from an overambitious hike the day before, so I spent a very happy eight hours here, with a good book. Sauna, swim, relax, repeat. They will hire you all you need.
Ben A — Google review
Beautiful beautiful beautiful that's all I can say. Everything was perfect from the heated pool, to the hot tub and cold and hot Sauna. Perfect!!!!
Boma D — Google review
Plenty of room. No waiting. However people seem to throw the towels on relaxing chairs. No one in it. Don't give others a chance to sit and relax, very selfish.... Same with the bubbles....they sit and wait although signs are up saying they should give others a chance..... Sauna areas are clean. Variety of different once. Good to explore.
Iris B — Google review
für Deutsch: super platz .......... for normal people: lower standard for German. No enjoyment for children, only outside some boring slow pool. Water outside is coold and pools small. Problem with food and drink. And be careful, some German idiots dislike, when you make photos. Expensive.
Tomek H — Google review
Nice place to spend the whole day. Take a book with you and have a moment for yourself.
Aleksander P — Google review
Nice place with lots of facilities! But the food at the bistro was really fat and the salad that came with the package "Harmonietag" was totally basic and sour. Also it included a massage and the day after I had all sore muscles, I don't think the girl was very capable. The massage included no pampering or relaxing music it feld like a sportsmassage.
Merel D — Google review
Having lived for 6 months in Bad Harzburg we made good use of the thermal baths. They have sauna, sun decks added to the lovely swimming areas (2) as well as a fabulous bubble pool. There's also a stream of thermal water flowing around an open air landscape which is great fun and very relaxing. They also have a system where you buy a 100€ ticket and it entitles you utilise the facilities for that value and through the system you get what ammounts to about 20% discount.

Memorial
Scenic spot
Nestled in the hills above Bad Harzburg, the Kreuz des deutschen Ostens HWN 122 stands as a poignant tribute to the former German territories lost after World War II. This striking white cross is surrounded by a circular walking path adorned with heraldic stones that commemorate regions such as Danzig, Silesia, and East Prussia. As you hike up to this significant landmark, take a moment to reflect on its historical importance while enjoying the scenic views.
Great hiking area with brilliant views..
Oliver B — Google review
Nice area . Amazing how they managed to get up on top of the hill.
Jon H — Google review
One of Germany’s most prominent Ostlandkreuze, remembering the expulsion and flight of ethnic Germans after WWII from the various eastern territories. The original wooden cross was blown down in a hurricane, and was replaced with the current steel-and-wood version. Around the cross are stone monuments representing each of the former German provinces east of the current border. The cross is reached by a good hike from Bad Harzburg and has a Wandernadel checkpoint.

6Bad Harzburg Burgbergbahn

3.9

Bus stop
Nestled at the foot of the Harz mountains, Bad Harzburg is a charming town that offers visitors a delightful blend of nature and culture. One of its highlights is the Burgbergbahn, a cable car that takes you on a scenic ride up to stunning views. While it can get busy, especially on weekends or during holidays, the experience is worth it as you ascend through beautiful landscapes.
(Translated by Google) The ascent to the Burgberg (castle hill) and the descent back to the town's spa gardens, where the valley station is located, are both a pleasant experience. The gondolas glide or float almost silently, offering a fantastic, almost panoramic view of the southern part of the town, its spa facilities, and the treetop walk. From the Burgberg plateau, the view extends far into the northern and northwestern Harz foothills and Bad Harzburg itself. But the low price for the combination of ascent and descent is worthwhile even if you have less time available. Once at the top, you want to immediately return to town and take a stroll through the spa gardens with its wonderfully cool and revitalizing treading and arm bathing pools, stroll along the spa promenade towards the train station, or walk around the town on the circular hiking trail.
Carsten P — Google review
Bad Harzburg is a very pretty little town on the edge of the Harz with lots of cafes and restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by. Some nice little shops too. A stream runs through the main street and there are interesting sculptures, little gardens, floral displays and play areas for the kids. As you walk up the hill you come to the cable car. It's a bit slow as there are only two cars in operation. One goes up as the other comes down. There can be long queues on busy days. At the top there are fantastic views from the monument. There is a hotel if you want to buy food or refreshments and you can explore the ruins of the old castle once the home of a relative of Richard the Lionheart and one time Holy Roman Emperor. Not much of the castle remains but interesting anyway. A pleasant, relaxing experience.
Ron W — Google review
(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, a very long waiting time around 1 p.m. on a Saturday...but during the holidays. We then walked up. It was tiring, but it went faster. The price goes up and down like this, but you have to pay extra for a dog, which e.g. is free in Hahnenklee. You also have to pay €1 for the toilet, which I find very unfair, since you have no other chance, but at tourist attractions you should offer the toilet free of charge. Only one of us went down with a dog... very nice staff.

(Translated by Google) A two-hour wait for a 5-minute ride. You could also take a leisurely walk up the mountain in that time and save the money. If you just want to walk the treetop walk, you can skip the cable car anyway. P.S.: There are far too few parking spaces at the valley station for the crowds.

(Translated by Google) The cable car itself is nice—when you finally get to ride after waiting for over an hour. With two children who'd already had a long car ride, it was a real nuisance. There was no sign anywhere about the wait time, no proper organization, and in the end, the lost time even got us a ticket because our parking ticket expired. You expect more for the money you spend here. Family-friendly? Unfortunately, not! Familienfreundlich? Leider nein!

But it's not a problem for people who aren't lazy on their feet. The cable car is quicker and easier. When the weather is nice, you can spend a lot of time in the queue. Today there were probably 70 people. In that time you have already walked up. :) Above you can see the Canossa column, the curtain wall, the old well, a tower and other remains of the ruins. Many information boards tell interesting facts about the history. The view is wonderful when the weather is nice. If you are on the hunt for the Harz hiking badge, you will find a stamp office here.

(Translated by Google) I was on a savior of the druids with three children, ages 10, 10, and 11. The route takes you through the Cold Valley with an iPad. First of all: The story has no historical connection, but that's okay. In a mix of Lord of the Rings, Tinkerbell elements, and something Nordic, various dwarven tribes must be rescued and freed from an unspecified evil. In addition to movement tasks, various Futhark and picture puzzles are solved using AR to reach the goal. Passing the tasks is not required. After about 2 km in the forest, there's more movement, followed by the final photo. I would love to see the mayor run! The preparation is perfect, the maps work perfectly. A fantastic experience. Very motivated staff! I want what they're doing, too! Megageiles Erlebnis. Sehr motivierte Mitarbeiterinnen! Was die nehmen, möchte ich auch!

(Translated by Google) A truly great experience with a combination of searching, exploring the environment, and solving puzzles. My only criticism: It's a bit expensive for a family with children, if you have to pay for each sleuth. A price per tablet would be fairer, so it wouldn't matter whether one or three little detectives participate. For further puzzles, a connection to the environment would be great, so that they also learn something about the place.

(Translated by Google) We did the digital treasure hunt for a child's birthday party (12 years old). It was absolutely brilliant! The kids were outside, had tons of fun, running and puzzling, being able to navigate and search – all around, it was fantastic!!! As parents, we leisurely trudged along behind them, but we could have just sat down in a café and enjoyed ourselves. The kids get it – and they don't have to worry about traffic either! There's only one downside: the kids can actually only play the game once, since they now know the hiding places. We need more games like this!!!! Thank you!!! One more thing I'd like to add: I think it's great to be given a tablet that functions as the entire game! There are other game concepts where you have to use your own smartphone for apps or internet searches. I personally don't like that at all.

Märchenwald amusement park offers a delightful experience with its displays inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairytales, as well as a miniature railway, playground, and go-karts. The park's attractions exude an old-fashioned charm that creates a cozy environment particularly suited for children. Spending time at Märchenwald can easily occupy an entire day, making it challenging to convince young ones to leave.
This place is quite lovely! All attractions are old, but they make this park cozy for kids. We spent almost the whole day there, and it was quite hard to take my daughter home from there😂 It is not a Disney land, but the price is low, so you should manage your expectations.
Anatolii I — Google review
We decided to give it a try despite the 2.9-star review. It turned out to be worse than I expected. They don’t even seem to try! For example, they hadn’t cleaned the filthy, moldy bread piece from the toy train, they hadn’t replaced the burned-out bulb in the exhibition area, and there was a giant hole in the bouncy castle. My child started crying in the miniature area because of the dim lighting and ominous music. My friend even joked that it should be renamed ‘DDR Park. In conclusion, not worth to visit if u have anything else to do
Hari N — Google review
Don’t come here. The park is not maintained and half of the attractions are broken.
Lorenzo C — Google review
Fun place, especially to feed the goats :) but it's old and everything is falling apart. Although the restaurant is new and so is the playground, but the rest is very old. Rapunzel even had a broken arm.
Peter D — Google review
German fairy tales are most likely the darkest and most disturbing. Therefore it comes as no surprise that this little theme park might be too twisted for children at least to some extent. The horror begins when you have tobpay the ridiculously overpriced entrance fee. They don't accept any payments by card, a quite Common thing in Germany. Once you've entered you're welcomed by a model display of the Harz mountains. Don't press any buttons because the model railways don't work but instead some creepy creatures that will scare the s*** out of your little ones and you. And it gets worse. Just pass by the fairy tale displays unless you want to make your children cry. There're some rides and attractions but most of them are in a bad condition and may pose a risk to your children. My daughter loved the bouncy castle which seemed to be quite new and the petting zoo. There's definitely some room for improvement with regard to the cleanliness of the petting zoo areas. We won't go there again and I wouldn't recommend the fairy tale theme park either.
Bob S — Google review
1. Train is not running by default. You have to explicitly request someone to fix it. 2. There is nothing for adults here, still they have to pay eur 6 and eur 7 for kids. 3. After 30min, kids run out of all options. It is not interesting. Instead go to public park 300mts away, that is free better than this one. I regret to give negative comment but this is what it is
Mani C — Google review
Park needs some heaving maintenance, kids enjoyed the few attraction that were open, like the playground, feeding the goats. Not worth the 18 Euros in my opinion.

Very cool place, fun, you can get there on foot and by cable car. Not scary at all, although it looks a bit like that. Allowed for people weighing no more than 100kg ( with belongings) . The price is 14 euros for an adult. There was almost no queue, everything moves quickly. The descent itself is 5-7 minutes, but the experience is very interesting. It is also accessible for children. The descent is possible with your belongings (bag), you don't need to leave them anywhere. After the descent you can continue your walk through the forest or on a special bridge (buy tickets in advance).

(Translated by Google) We played eco-mini golf here with our children and loved it. The tracks are laid out in a natural, biotope-like area with many old trees. We also had a snail or an earthworm on our path. The tracks are not 100% flat and of course sometimes there were branches hanging over a track or there were leaves on the tracks. That didn't bother us at all while playing, but we found it very nice - pure eco-minigolf. In addition, the tracks were not close together like in other facilities and there was alternating sun and shade. Our children then played football golf right next to it. The courses were varied and sufficiently mown, so we had a lot of fun here too. The owner was very friendly and you could tell that he enjoyed doing everything. We liked it much better in the middle of nature than on other perfectly packed mini golf or adventure golf courses. Thank you for the lovely afternoon!

The mini golf course terrain was indeed very natural, with the holes themselves nestled between mature trees and around a natural pond. Since it was very sunny and warm, the shade of the trees was very welcome. The fact that these weren't standard concrete holes only made the game more interesting and didn't bother us at all. We also had a lot of fun playing the pit pat holes afterwards. It's a shame for everyone playing and annoying for the operator that the pins on the last pit pat hole, if there are any, are regularly stolen, so they have to resort to a "makeshift" solution with plastic stands. It doesn't detract from the game itself, but it's a shame for everyone. At the end, we had a quick chat with the friendly operator. We'd love to come back.

We went anyway. Right at 12 o'clock. And we were almost the only ones there. It was fun, but could use some sprucing up in one or two places. Unfortunately, there's only one portable toilet. But you can also use the restroom in the restaurant. The price/performance ratio is good. (Original) Wir waren zum Kindergeburtstag da. (Translated by Google) A lovely place (park) for a stroll. The grounds are very well maintained. Unfortunately, there's not much to offer here. A one-hour stay, and you'll just be wandering around the park.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful venue for a wedding. The open-plan hall offers plenty of space, and the adjacent park is perfect for a ceremony.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful lion-shaped memorial commemorating the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/1871. The lion symbolizes the strength of the fallen soldiers who "fought like lions." The area surrounding the memorial is also a good place to sit and admire the monument, as there are several places to rest and it's only two minutes from the train station. Only the traffic can be clearly heard there, as it's located directly on the road. Overall, though, it's a wonderful idea to commemorate the fallen.

Anyone interested in monuments will find what they're looking for here. (Translated by Google) Friendly staff. The arcade was clean, but the women's restroom was dirty and poorly laid out. (Original) Freundliches Personal.
