Nature & Parks
Papago Park, located about a 20-minute drive from downtown Phoenix between Scottsdale and Tempe, offers an expansive area for hiking and picnicking. The park is home to the Phoenix Zoo, Papago Golf Course, Desert Botanical Garden, and other museums and attractions.
A must-visit spot while you’re in town! I often travel solo for work and always look for places that are both fun and feel safe—this hike checks both boxes. It’s less than a mile, and once you park, it’s easy to find your way up by walking around the rock. If you’re into taking photos, I highly recommend going early in the morning—it’s peaceful and the lighting is perfect. I tried both morning and evening hikes, and while the evening had beautiful views, it was much busier with engagements, kids, and general crowds. Even if you don’t hike up, the base area is worth a visit—lush with palm trees and a serene pond, perfect for a relaxing walk.

My sister/best friend of 34 years set out on the journey today. It was definitely majestic even with all the chatter that was going. Word to the wise if you go for meditation be sure to find a spot away from folks. That was definitely the only downfall of the day.
Jauthenia W — Google review
This park is definitely always wonderful in nature and peace! It’s an easier park to travel through since your agility level may be beginner yet it’s fun and always memorable. It’s a clean park and a safe one as well. The sunset is my favorite, definitely have been here for 15+ times, and recommend this place to lots of people!
Edis — Google review
This was much needed stop and reflect location. Being out with nature when it was not too hot or cold. Such beautiful views and area. I loved that there were bikers and walkers on the same trails.
Shaunta S — Google review
This is a beautiful, picturesque park with a lot of different amenities! The walking trails on the mountain are easy to do and breathtaking, but even the more common features are in excellent shape! We have utilized the archery range many times, and it’s a neat addition to the area. You won’t be disappointed if you visit!
Stan C — Google review
Super chill with easy trails to walk around and get some nice desert views right next to the city. The Hole in the rock is a fun quick 2 min climb and perfect to catch a sunset or some photos. Stop by if you’re in Phoenix.
Ashwin I — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous park! Plenty of spots to sit and chill with breathtaking views of the mountains. The grounds are clean and well maintained. There are plenty of walking and biking paths, which is nice for a bit of solitude even when other people are there. There are picnic areas, water fountains, and restrooms as well. The famous hole in the rock formation overlooks the park, however it was slightly crowded when I went so I chose not to climb it. It was still pretty cool to see! Good place to kick back and enjoy some fresh air. Parking is easy and close by to everything.
Nicole H — Google review
This was magical, coming from Florida. Did a few of the small loop trails and climb to hole in the rock. First time coming out west can only imagine what larger parks would feel like.

The Desert Botanical Garden, located in Phoenix, Arizona, has been a conservation hub for Sonoran Desert plants and other desert flora worldwide for over 70 years. The garden spans 140 acres and features more than 50,000 plant displays. Visitors can explore various trails such as the Plants and People of the Desert Trail, which offers insights into the lives and culture of indigenous people who have inhabited the area for thousands of years.
This is one of our favorite "happy places"! Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, unique and fun events, educational support for our own plants, and so many more things are what keep us coming back. It has something for everyone. Some of our favorite things so far have been getting married here, enjoying the yearly Boo-tanical Garden with the kids, having regular date days/nights here, and attending their plant sales. The restaurant and cafe are delicious, and the gift shop always has something worth taking home. We absolutely love the Desert Botanical Garden and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night, family time, or even just some "me time".
Dakota B — Google review
I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! The Desert Botanical Garden is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. Every trail and exhibit is thoughtfully designed, and you can really see the care that goes into keeping everything in top shape. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable; they were happy to answer questions and share insights about the plants and desert landscape. It’s such a peaceful and inspiring place to explore, whether you’re a local or just visiting. There’s also a restaurant on site that feels like fine dining without being stuffy. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, and they cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Phoenix.
Courtney G — Google review
The botanical garden is a must visit. The trails are no lesser than any state park/national park. The gathering tours were really informative. The staff is friendly. Gift store is so beautiful. There are water stations every now and there. Hydration is not all a problem. Loved watching butterflies and hummingbirds in the butterflies trail. Saguaros are unique.
Saisreemeenakshi V — Google review
Must experience. Absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate to arrive after the monsoonal rains. Everything was green and blooming. We arrived a little before sunset, so we're able to see the gardens during the day, at sunset with a beautiful Arizona sky, and the gardens lit at night. The Botanical garden is open till 9:00 pm. If you have a layover at Phoenix Airport, the gardens aren't very far away. I would encourage anyone younger old to take time to visit.
Patricia — Google review
I was not sure if I would like this, but I ended up loving it. It can be a bit of a walk, but I went in Nov and it was not overwhelmingly hot, but still warm. I enjoyed the cactus and plants so much, they bloom beautifully. Of course they have a lovely butterfly exhibit so worth going to. The shop and restaurant was not to bad, slightly pricey, still nice though. I had a refreshing margarita. I would recommending giving this place a visit, was most enjoyable.
Debbie V — Google review
The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is absolutely incredible! I was blown away by the breathtaking views—towering saguaros and colorful cacti create this surreal, almost magical desert landscape. There are so many cool cactuses, from spiky barrels to funky agaves, and I loved wandering the shaded trails snapping photos. It’s super peaceful, like a total escape from the city, with hummingbirds zipping around adding to the calm. The paths are easy to navigate, and the sunset glow on the red buttes was unreal. It’s about $40 to enter, but worth every penny for the curated beauty. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves nature or just wants a chill, inspiring outing. Bring water if it’s warm, and go early for fewer crowds. I’m already excited to come back!
Ellen S — Google review
I love this place! It makes me happy. It gives me time to reflect and regain focus on life. We all have a happy place we go to recharge. This is one of many places I go to feel a sense of peace. I love nature, so this is a great place to visit. It’s also a learning experience as well. Many different types of plants and cactuses. They also have special events. A lot of fun stuff. I enjoy going when it’s cooler out. I make it a me day. Enjoy! 😊
D Q — Google review
Desert Botanical Garden is a fantastic place to visit. There are so many varieties of desert plants, and the massive cactuses are especially impressive. The butterfly garden is also great, with lots of different species to see. If you’re visiting on a hot day, make sure to stay hydrated—thankfully, there are water stations throughout the grounds. The staff are friendly and there’s tons of helpful information about Arizona’s incredible cacti. The entry fee is a bit pricey, but for a one-time visit, it’s worth it.

Bodies of Water
Tempe Town Lake is a popular destination in Tempe, AZ, offering a blend of natural beauty and urban living. This two-mile long reservoir was created by damming a section of the Salt River and filling it with water from the Colorado River. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, and fishing around the lake's five-mile circumference.
Beautiful lake, calm and peaceful, great place to walk around or ride the electric bikes. Took a walk and enjoyed seeing people sail, boat or kayak. It was a weekend so we did not rent anything but saw there was a person sitting there as if you could rent a kayak or some sort of water activity. Great place to bike, walk, sight see, or enjoy water activity.

• Review Tempe Town Lake – Endless Fun in the Sun! Tempe Town Lake is the ultimate outdoor playground! Whether you’re renting a scooter, biking, rollerblading, skating, running, or just taking a relaxing walk, there’s something for everyone. You can even rent a boat or a quirky little duck pontoon and spend the whole day out on the water. We always have a blast here and love that it feels clean, safe, and family-friendly. Highly recommend for a sunny day of adventure or a peaceful lakeside stroll. #TempeTownLake #ArizonaFun #Scooters #Siggy_E 💋

Tempe Town Lake is very safe for walkers and runners alike. Please be mindful of the bikers in the area, because there are plenty. The lake is spread out, so you can get your steps/miles in easily. It’s even safe in the evenings, but use proper discretion when alone. There’s also plenty of restaurants and shopping only .25 miles away. Lots of business and lodging.

Tempe town lake is ok, they have rental paddle boats and you can also bring your own board. Swimming is not allowed. Seen a lot of people fishing but didn't see anyone catch anything. On the weekends the atmosphere changes and a lot of people, families, children etc walk around the park and enjoy the views by the water. Be aware that some shady business may be going on.

We went this evening for a doughnut boat ride and had a good time. It was hot but then it got a little cooler the sun went down some and we enjoyed the sunset. It was beautiful! The boat was quite slow but very pleasant. The cost was $140 for an hour. $160 after tax. It fits 10 people. We brought snacks and drinks but no alcohol is allowed.
Lorraine B — Google review
This is such a fun place to go. Especially during the pandemic. Being stuck in our homes for so long it's a nice place to go and get some excersie. Today was a perfect day to go walking. There were a ton of people riding bikes. Lots of families there with canopy's and having picnics. I love that you are able to rent scooters, the family peddle carts. Fair prices for paddle boats, all different kinds. I can't wait to go back and do more stuff there. Also there is A mountain that people hikes on in the same area. Lots of things to keep someone or a family busy.

Theaters
ASU Gammage, a historic theater located on the Arizona State University campus, is renowned for hosting various arts performances. Designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1950s, it was originally intended to be an opera house for the King of Iraq but was repurposed as an auditorium for ASU after political events led to the cancellation of the original project.
I watched Suffs at ASU Gammage and had an amazing experience! The theatre is beautiful and full of history, and the show was absolutely powerful - great music, strong performances, and inspiring storytelling. The energy of the crowd and the atmosphere made it even more special. I was sitting on the balcony and the vocals and music were clear from my seat! Special mention to the staff at the will call, they were very helpful and kind in answering the queries regarding student discount and availability. The security and organizing team during the show were also extremely nice and helpful. A wonderful venue for Broadway shows in Arizona!
Kanak V — Google review
Great experience! Front row 1st balcony. Autographs and pics with the cast after the show. Celebrating our daughter surviving her freshman year of college!!
Howard S — Google review
I'm going to go ahead and give this 5 stars, not necessarily because it's deserving, but because I want it to continue to stay the before that it is. Always great staff, wonderful ambience and architecture, parking has become a cluster, and the seats really are cramped. Been to a few productions here, lovely acoustics too.
Sean T — Google review
Incredible venue. Acoustics great & every seat has great view of stage. Volunteers extremely helpful. Catch any show you will not be disappointed. We have seen, Tina, Zagged Little Pill & now & Juilet. Have 2 more shows scheduled can't wait. Great Broadway performances ever time.
Archie S — Google review
This is a review for & Juliet, and Suffs not for the venue. The venue is great and if you go early enough, you can get good parking. But even if you can’t there’s free parking just down the block at the garage. There’s also drinks and food you can order. But be aware of the clear bag policy! We bought season tickets and were very excited to see new musicals every month. The first 2 plays we saw were awful! Suffs is very boring. And Juliet was roll my eyes at “not more woke plays”. Both plays made me wonder if this is where this whole season is heading, I sure hope not. Suffs was about the suffragette movement so I knew it would have feminist flavour to it but the entire storyline was so boring and the songs were dull. But I had great hopes for Juliet. It is a play within a play with Shakespeare’s wife having a hand in changing the ending of the tragic tale of the star crossed lovers. It pokes fun at some of the ridiculousness of how they fell in love and ended their lives in 4 days! But as soon as we were introduced to Juliet’s best friend, I knew this was going to go down as another woke play. No original songs, just pop songs woven together to try to make a story. Some parts were a tad humorous but only because the entire play was so cringe and cliche that you had to cling to some of the small bits of humour. We have several more shows to go to and I really hope it gets better from here.
PhuMy G — Google review
I've seen several performances/shows at Gammage Auditorium, and I love this venue. One of my favorite shows that came to Gammage with a stellar performance was Hamilton. And if you're not a fan of traditional Broadway show...never fear...you'll discover a wide variety of shows and performances. We've also gone to Gammage to see The Blue Man Group, The Adams Family, Flashdance, Annie, Wicked, and so many more. Take a peek at what's coming and find something amazing to add to your calendar.
SarahBeth C — Google review
I’ve always love going to see shows at Gammage. It’s a nice venue. Great shows, nice staff, good drinks & snacks plus the seats have plenty of leg room. I’m tall plus wear heels and I have enough room to cross my legs and sit comfortably. We saw Moulin Rouge this time and it was fantastic. Life of Pi the last time, which was amazing.
Jennifer B — Google review
Loved the experience! The seats were comfortable, and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. Great refreshments and snacks before the show and during intermission.

Excellent place for a relaxation. Right from shopping to experiences, restaurants shows and simply walking strolling around. It offers a great sprawling and apple ground for window shopping. Great eateries like panera. First line, as you wish, many stores bed and bath body works. Barns and noble, I think this place is simply amazing. A visit when in Arizona to tempey marketplace is an excellent choice. They light up in the evening, live music and simply a very, very relaxed way to stroll around and let your hair down ample parking, great toilet facilities, grey seating areas. I think everything is only great

Tempe Marketplace is a cool spot right in the heart of Tempe. You’ll find everything from quick bites at fast food restaurants to sit-down fine dining. There’s plenty of entertainment too—Dave & Buster’s, axe throwing, a movie theater, and more. It’s an outdoor mall with great stores like Ross, Old Navy, Victoria’s Secret, H&M, and many others. Plus, there’s plenty of parking, which makes visiting super convenient.

Nice place. I enjoyed some from yo while sitting in the shade. There are several nice restaurants to either grab a nosh or full meal and adult beverage. The splash pad was a hit for the kids. Loved to hear them laugh as they had fun chasing the water. Barnes and Noble has a nice selection. I loved the plants in the middle of the courtyards.

Love the layout of the vendor tables at the marketplace event last weekend. However, there should be no pets allowed by the vendors or customers. It's a tight space. The vendor who was doing tooth gems had two large mastiffs and could barely hold them. That's also unsanitary considering she is working inside of mouths. Just a thought. Back to it... Tempe Marketplace is lovely overall and has much you explore/do. I always have a great time when I go there.

The Tempe History Museum is a spacious and engaging destination that showcases the rich history of Tempe, Arizona. Through a variety of rotating exhibits and educational programs, visitors can delve into the city's evolution across four themed areas: Surviving in the Desert, Living Together, Building Community, and College Town. A special highlight for families is The Kids Place gallery, where younger guests can play and explore while making new friends.
A small but enjoyable and free museum for all ages. We went to see the signs exhibit, and it was pretty cool seeing signs that used to hang all around Tempe, including some historic. Other exhibits included a timeline with artifacts over the decades of Tempe, historic vehicles, and also historic photos and concept art. There was even a section dedicated to Tempe’s appearances in movies.
Atari T — Google review
This small museum is currently exhibiting Tempe's Old West history, and I found it very interesting to read about how quickly the town changed and spread. Included in the exhibit are pieces of clothing, tools, and toys from this boomtown era. The rest of the museum has displays from an ethnic standpoint to the movie industry to sustainability in the desert to ASU history. One corner has a truck, books, and costumes so that kids can get hands-on. Admission is free, and the museum shop has lots of unique gift items. Bonus: the Tempe Public Library is right next door

A really small, but enjoyable history museum focusing on the founding and history of Tempe. Admission is free and there is a lot of information to read and learn, as well as interactive exhibits for the younger visitors. Parking is also plentiful and close by. It is very small, as mentioned, so I left with many unanswered questions, but I can’t complain too much considering it’s free admission. However, if there was a charge to enter I don’t feel it would be worth it.

Nestled within the vibrant Arizona Mills in Tempe, SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium is a captivating 26,000-square-foot interactive experience that invites families to dive into the wonders of marine life. This aquarium showcases an impressive array of aquatic creatures across diverse habitats, making it a perfect destination for all ages. Visitors can marvel at the breathtaking 360-degree ocean tunnel where majestic sharks, graceful rays, and playful turtles swim overhead.
A small, but effective aquarium. All of the displays were in great shape. I definitely recommend buying combo tickets with LegoLand across the hall. It's worth every penny and your kids will spend literally all day between the 2. The stingray pool was awesome. The giant tunnel at the end it legit. Super immersive with a lot of viewing domes for the kids to help them feel like they're in the water with the fish. Sharks, sea turtles, axolotls, seahorses, lots of cool stuff to see.

Great kid-friendly aquarium at Arizona Mills Mall! The price is just right for the size of the Aquarium. It is fun to see the variety of aqua life in an easy-to-follow floor plan. It was fun to see the turtles and tank with stingrays. I loved the bubble like viewing areas for little kids. The tour ends with a small but nice gift shop.

SEA LIFE Aquarium is such a fun and beautiful experience! The tunnel tank with sharks and rays is breathtaking, and the touch tanks and interactive displays make it hands-on for all ages. Everywhere you turn there are great photo opportunities — from seahorses to schooling fish. The exhibits are well kept, staff are friendly, and the whole place is easy to enjoy at your own pace. A perfect mix of education, visuals, and interactive fun!

We’ve always enjoyed our visits to SEA LIFE Arizona! The aquarium is beautifully done, and my daughter especially loves the scavenger hunt and all the fun little viewing areas and photo spots throughout. It’s a great family activity, and the exhibits are engaging and well cared for. That said, the prices do feel a bit high for the length of the visit. We’ve gone three or four times over the past couple of years, and while it’s always a good experience, the cost may keep us from visiting as often in the future.

Amazing experience, especially for a first-time aquarium for my partner. Especially if you're from out of town, on a budget, and on a time crunch! It's worth it, and should I visit Arizona again I might have to take a peek at their other exhibits!

Visiting the Sea Life aquarium with my family was an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by vibrant displays of marine life that captivated both the kids and adults. The variety of sea creatures was impressive, with everything from colorful tropical fish to majestic sharks swimming overhead in the underwater tunnel. The interactive exhibits were a highlight for the kids, allowing them to touch starfish and learn about different species in a fun, engaging way. We also enjoyed the informative talks from the staff, who shared fascinating facts about the animals and their habitats. The atmosphere was lively, and it was wonderful to see everyone, including my family, so excited about the wonders of the ocean. Overall, the Sea Life aquarium made for a memorable family outing. It was both educational and entertaining, and we left with a greater appreciation for marine life. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out with family!

Located on a modern college campus, ASU Art Museum houses a diverse collection of contemporary ceramics, new media, prints, and crafts. Embracing the university's spirit, the museum serves as an experimental space for artistic engagement. Its projects like Global Arizona and Social Studies aim to deepen the connection between art and society while InterLab showcases interdisciplinary work by students and faculty. With initiatives like Moving Targets focusing on new media art, ASU Art Museum is committed to being a museum of the future.
This is a wonderful museum to visit if you're in the area. Free admission and parking (just note your license plate). Despite being a smaller museum overall, there are some really fantastic rotating exhibits here. There's also a small kid's/art area behind the front desk when you walk in. The staff is friendly and makes themselves available without feeling like they're following you around.

The ASU Art Museum is free to the public and open Wednesday thru Sunday. Parking is complimentary right in front of the museum at the Southeast corner of Mill and 10th St. The building itself is just as intriguing and unique as the art. Check in at the front desk for a paper guide, snacks, and a few souvenirs. Check out their website to see which exhibits are currently up and any special events. The museum has a cool moody vibe, and the different exhibits were interesting. The U-shape of the building makes it an easy wall to not miss anything. We turned it into a date day by walking the museum, then checking out campus shops, and finishing with a cocktail in a rooftop bar overlooking the city.

Defiently an amazing art gallery. Was suprised with some of the art they had from asia. Location was very quite and not overly crowded. Will be returning next time the update the exhibits. Was able to make it through in about an hour to an hour and half.

My wife and I had not been on a college campus for a number of years. Upon entering the ASU art museum it was saddening to see what was represented there! The brochure about the museum stated it was about social justice and in the five galleries we did not see any real art. We saw something that was very angry and a lot of open space. It was sad to see that such a beautiful building is wasted on so little content. Save yourself some time. Nothing redeeming for the hard or soul in this building.

Small university museum. There are about 5 galleries in there. Free admission. The building is nice, with unique architecture. Showing more identity kind of exhibits - like Indian tribes, or Mexican heritage. The student staff is super nice. Great place to just chill and cozy up in the heat of Phoenix

Tempe Beach Park is a 25-acre recreational area located on the south shore of Tempe Town Lake. It offers various activities such as boating, cycling, and picnicking. The park features an amphitheater that hosts concerts and shows, including Independence Day celebrations. Additionally, it has a splash playground for children and is a popular venue for cultural celebrations and music festivals throughout the year.
Came here on a weekday evening. It was very spacious and really enjoyed the LED color bridge over the river. There are a lot of electrical scooters for rent to ride around the sidewalk along the riverfront. Did not visit during the day but I can imagine there are more water/boat related activities available.

Lived here for about 13 years & never have gone down to the Tempe Town Lake to take advantage of all the wonderful rentals. However, today I did. Sooo much fun. Rented Paddle boat for an hour, but didn't use all the time. The AZ sun can be brutal even when temps aren't 3 digit. The Lake has long hours so perhaps a sunset ride would be a little better. Either way, Tempe Town Lake is a nice little jewel in the desert.

The mall features well-known retailers like Gap Outlet, Old Navy, and Neiman Marcus Last Call alongside entertainment venues and a large IMAX theater.
I really enjoyed this mall! Best one I've been to in a while. It has so many stores that you can find anything your looking for here. Kid friendly.

Wow, one of the most chill malls i have visited. It has many stores for younger audiences and a great selection of boutiques for the older generations. There is a movie theater, sea world, and Legoland. There is a huge food court and very clean. I appreciate the service

I’ve been to Arizona Mills a few times — it’s a nice mix of outlet and regular stores. The food hall is pretty decent, and it’s connected to LEGOLAND and a movie theater, which makes it a fun spot to hang out. There’s also plenty of parking, which is a plus!

The mall is HUGE and they have not just the mall stuff you find everywhere, but cool experience and adventure spots for the kids. There's some crazy bubble experience spot, a carousel in the food court, LegoLand, SeaLife Aquarium, and Rainforest Cafe among others. Definitely worth a walk through. However, we were there during a crazy rainstorm and it turns out half the skylights in the food court literally leak water like they were open to the sky. I mean they had to shut half the court down and turn off the carousel due to flooding. But rain in the desert is rare. So check it out on a hot day.

The shopping experience at this place is quite remarkable. The crowd is sizable, and there is a wide variety of both products and stores. The discounts offered are substantial, making it an attractive destination for shoppers. The quality of the merchandise falls within the average range, making it a good choice for purchasing everyday clothing items. The food options are diverse, with numerous storefronts to choose from. Interestingly, there's even a pet store selling dogs. Moreover, the establishment boasts additional attractions, such as a gaming arcade, a movie theater, and a Lego center, making it a comprehensive destination for entertainment and leisure. The inclusion of a small-scale aquarium and a Lego center adds a unique touch to the overall experience, making it a well-rounded destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

It's also home to the impressive Arizona State University Art Museum, showcasing over 10,000 artifacts and contemporary artworks. Whether you're a student or a visitor, ASU Tempe Campus offers a vibrant atmosphere with access to nearby amenities and attractions.
Everyone that I asked or didn’t ask about ASU all exclaimed that this campus was the most beautiful. They were absolutely right! After many college visits the key highlights of ASU is its it own city. You literally don’t have to leave. It’s modernized in every way. It doesn’t boast in historical components more than its future imprint. Lastly, it’s resourcefulness. We didn’t join an official tour but everyone we spoke to from students to staff readily assisted us. It was a one of kind university experience.

Walking many main campus’s across the US including many large state institutions I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the main campus was via foot on a Sunday afternoon. I can’t speak for the academics or campus life but it had a lot to offer and felt unique, inviting and progressive academically. Hard to rate it overall but as a campus walk I walked away with a good impression of ASU.

ASU completely upgraded their Game Day App....which meant completely starting over with the new app. My football tickets didn't show up, coupled with the fact we wanted to put all our accounts under one name. We seen our athletic representative Zack, who always gets things done for us. Used a different method which was just as easy to find and have access to football tickets, got all our accounts together now, paid for wrestling season tickets, so now we're good for this academic year. "It's all FORKS UP!"

This is a nice little shopping center right in the middle of the Mill avenue district of tempe. This little alcove with a bunch more shops is really interesting as well. It's very nice, and there's also a couple of fountains as well. Overall this area is cool and has good places to shop and eat as well.
Matt M — Google review
Mill Avenue is a street in the city of Tempe, AZ that runs north/south about four city blocks long. But, the most infamous section is the northern terminus that stretches two blocks from University Drive north towards the Salt River where the area is dominated by bars, chain and local restaurants, movie theaters, shops and everything in between. Part of the street also borders Arizona State University to the west, so simply put, it's a fun, young, energetic, happening spot in town. When I lived in Mesa back in '95/'96, I was still too young to drink but we'd cruise through on the weekends via automobile, lol. Enter present day, my spouse and I were in the city overnight after a weeklong vacay in Puerto Vallarta. Wanting to see the area again and show it to my spouse, we made a special Uber trip from our hotel in Phoenix to Mill Ave. to take in the sights and have cocktails before dinner back in the city. It wasn't as hopping as I remembered, but was still lively nonetheless and felt very safe. Numerous parking areas are peppered throughout the area. We ended up at Fat Tuesday where we had amazing cocktails and apps! OVERALL: Entertaining, lots of dining choices, great nightlife.

There are always so many fun places to shop and events to attend. Check this place out during the day and again at night for a different vibe. An easy walk and loads of places to eat and check out. It reminds me of something you'd find back east as far as the old brick buildings and unique places.

Let's be honest, there was a time when Mill Avenue was the place to go in the valley, now there are so many other great options as well. I can't even guess how many of the locations on Mill avenue are currently vacant, but it's a lot. It seems like all of the things that would make Mill Avenue great. The Downtown Tempe Authority won't allow them to do.

A fun little shopping center on Mill Avenue that has its own charm. My only issue with it is that a lot of the shops have very weird hours, meaning that you have to go at a very specific time of day to ensure that they might be open.

I went to the art fair this past weekend in Downtown Tempe. I was surprised at the number of vendors. Alot of the art was top notch, and my favorite was this nice older couple (older than me LOL!), who explained how their tye dye process works and one of my favorites was an acoustical guitar on like a small Persian rug size. Awesome! ☯️
David C — Google review
I wonder if many people walk right by the entrance on their jaunt down Mill Ave and don't realize the eclectic shopping experience being missed out on. I highlighted the entrance in green in the photo from the other side of Mill Ave. It's a little North of the NW corner of Mill and 5th St. As an aside, I used to get inexpensive accessories in a shop that was here in 1988 on the second floor.

Four Peaks Brewing Company, named after the famous mountain peaks in Greater Phoenix, is a well-known brewery in Arizona. Their classic Kilt Lifter Scottish Ale has been a favorite since 1996 and is considered the top beer in the state. The main brewery in Tempe has been a popular spot for over 20 years, attracting students, sports fans, and locals. The brewery's acquisition by Anheuser-Busch in 2015 expanded its reach across the country.
Girls’ night approved! Stopped by Four Peaks Brewing Company in Tempe just for drinks and dessert with the girls, and it did not disappoint. We sat at the first bar and I ordered the Pink Pony Club (vodka + peach schnapps = dreamy), and it was the perfect summer cocktail — light, fruity, and dangerously easy to drink. For dessert, we shared the summer lemon bars with coconut ice cream, and wow. The lemon bars were tart and buttery, and that coconut ice cream was next-level — creamy, refreshing, and not too sweet. Vibes were chill, service was fast, and the whole spot had a great local Tempe energy. Will definitely be back — maybe next time for the full dinner menu!

I'm so glad I came here today. I'm a huge pumpkin beer fan, and I just had the best one! I enjoyed the Double Pumpkin Barrel Aged Porter. Had a very deep porter flavor, with slight sweetness of pumpkin and whiskey. I also had the fish and sweet potato fries. They were excellent. My server Delaney was fantastic. Very good attitude and just wonderful service. I'm so glad that I stopped by here.

The Phoenix Zoo covers 125 acres and offers a variety of animal exhibits, including a children's area and petting zoo. Visitors can also enjoy a narrated tram ride around the zoo. One of the most anticipated events at the Phoenix Zoo is Zoo Lights, where millions of lights are strung on trees and displayed as animal shapes along pathways.
Wonderful zoo! Not too large so that you can walk the whole zoo of you want to get the full view of you don't spend too much time at one exhibit. Lots of shade along the way, plenty of water fountains available. They have planned for the comfort of the visitors. My photos certainly don't show the extent and great variety of the place...monkeys, orangutan, dromedaries, beautiful birds, nice splash pad for kids, individual displays of the local desert inhabitants, so much more. Nice gift shop, plenty of parking.
Eugene E — Google review
The Phoenix Zoo is such a fun place to visit! Definitely bring good walking shoes — there’s plenty to see and explore. We went in December, and the weather was perfect, though we did need light jackets. We especially loved seeing the lion, and the ZooLights experience was an absolute blast. A great place for families or anyone who loves animals!
Savanah E — Google review
It is a good size and very accessible with adult scooters, kid and adult animal themed scooters, and stroller rentals. The zoo membership was worth it since it pays for itself in about 2 visits. The cafe is decent and if you come on less busy days or less peak hours, it is really peaceful and serene with lots of areas to sit. The animal variety is pretty good for being in the desert and it even has a Siberian Amur tiger, one of the most expensive zoo animals and endangered big cats, that not even the San Diego Zoo has.
Kelley C — Google review
Had a great time at the Phoenix Zoo! The animals seem well taken care of. Enclosures are fairly large and well kept. There are animal ambassadors at most of the areas that are very informative and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all our questions and some were quite funny. They have the only open walk through attraction with squirrel monkeys in the United States, which is in my opinion a must see for any visitor to the zoo. Also you can feed giraffes, ride a camel or play in the water park. Their is something for everyone. Overall my experience was enjoyable and I recommend if your are in Phoenix to add a stop at the zoo!
Alicia C — Google review
We recently went here for zoo lights as part of an event from work, and it was beautiful. We have never been here for this, but now that we have, we enjoyed it very much. All of the lights and the details that they did to make all of it happen was worth it. I didn't take many pictures as I was enjoying my self that I forgot.. but it is beautiful and a really great experience. The animals are sleeping so you dont really see them. The trails are closed to some areas, but they make the animals come to life with, all the lights! There was only a few things open for snacks and drinks, and they had long lines so I guess bring yoir drinks and snacks with you? Otherwise is a really great experience for everyone!
Fanny M — Google review
We had a wonderful time at the Phoenix Zoo! The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. For being in the desert, there was plenty of shade, which made walking around very comfortable even on a warm day. There were lots of drink stations and food options throughout the zoo, so it was easy to grab a refreshment or snack without having to go far. The layout was easy to follow with maps and signs everywhere, which made exploring stress-free and enjoyable. The giraffe area was absolutely huge, and we loved the elevated platform walkway that connects exhibits that gives a unique view of the animals below. Overall, the Phoenix Zoo is a fun, family-friendly place that clearly takes pride in both guest experience and animal care.

We had an absolutely phenomenal day at the Phoenix Zoo, and I can't recommend it enough as a perfect way for kids to spend a couple of hours walking around and getting up close with wildlife. Our visit today was exceptional because the animals were incredibly active! Sometimes you walk past exhibits and the animals are sleeping, but not today. We saw so much lively action: • Monkey Business: The monkeys were putting on quite a show, swinging and playing all over their habitat. It was non-stop entertainment! • A Spiky Surprise: one porcupine was wide awake and busy, which was a real treat to see. Hehe did a little of dance for us, and it will be a memorable porcupine dance experience for us to keep in our family. Beyond the great animal viewing, we loved that there were a couple of animal encounters happening, which added an extra layer of engagement for the little ones. We also took the carousel ride, camel ride and stingray feeding. It truly was an awesome day at the zoo. For families looking to make a whole outing of it, the Phoenix Zoo is great. We were smart and brought our lunch, which made the midday break easy and relaxing. And of course, on a warm day, the splash pad was the perfect grand finale to cool off and burn the last bit of energy before heading home. If you're looking for an engaging, manageable, and exciting outdoor activity for your kids, the Phoenix Zoo is a winner. Especially if you catch the animals on an active day like we did, it's a memorable experience!

This year from January 25th to January 26th , was the tempe bloom festival . It was from 10am to 5pm, lots of vendors, live music, and flowers to look at. It was fun and lots of people brought their dogs.

The Halloween night out is awesome here. We had a good time as a lot of people were strolling that area that night. Lots of eateries as well to have a good Halloween night. The mills avenue is bustling with a crowd of crazy costume wearing people that night.

Downtown Tempe is beautiful and I enjoyed looking at the architecture of the various buildings. There are plenty of hotels and eating options, so this was a good choice when I visited the greater Phoenix area. The area appears to be fairly walkable but we did see several homeless people and panhandlers.

Culinary Dropout is a trendy British-style gastropub chain known for its unique decor and inventive cocktails. Located in Tempe, this popular hangout spot offers more than just food and drinks - it's a place to play with ping pong tables, cornhole, and live music. The menu features classic American comfort food prepared to perfection, including mouth-watering 36-hour BBQ pork ribs.
1st time here, loved the atmosphere! Loved our waitress Brielle! She was so sweet, happy amd and excellent waitress! The food was good depending on what you order. My Mongolian Short Ribs were drowning in sauce and the meat was overcooked and tough. My husband enjoy his MAC Burger despite there being a lot of bread in it. Our desserts were delicious! The beer and mocktail were delicious!

I do not have many pictures of food. We came with a big group for drinks. But the wings were AMAZING! And so was my cosmo! This place is huuuge! And very nice for large groups. Although we were not the only group of over 20 ppl here the server took very good care of us. Everyone here is very nice. My husband misplaced his eyeglasses and they called when we got back home to follow up. Leaving a review because the name of the restaurant was not enticing to me, we were in town for a week and I went everywhere else but here because I thought it wasn’t going to be good and I regret it. I will definitely come back and totally recommend this place.

Category: Fine food. For some reason, dining at the Culinary Dropout always feels like a party. Though we have enjoyed some of the other Phoenix/Scottsdale locations, this was the first time we dropped into the Tempe Dropout. We had matinee tix to a show at the Arizona Theatre Company, which is only a short walk away, so we made a lunch rez and sat at the bar and chatted with the bartenders. True to form, it felt like a party. Both the dining room side and the open-air Yard side were moderately busy this beautiful Sunday afternoon in early November. The place is really spacious, with high steel-beamed ceilings, exposed ductwork, and skylights. Ceiling heaters make the Yard side usable even in cooler weather. A small stage hosts musicians on Friday and Saturday nights. High-top tables abound, and the Yard has large couch pits for hosting groups. Light fixtures that remind me of early satellites hang randomly. And of course there are TVs. I didn’t want to fall asleep at the theater so I ordered an Athletic non-alcoholic beer, which complemented the excellent deviled eggs and French dip that we shared. I substituted the housemade potato chips for fries, as I always do. They are crispy and golden and perfect. I’m SO glad they brought them back to the menu. They are the best I have found in Phoenix/Scottsdale and one of the main reasons — if not the top reason — we drop in at the Dropouts. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

I've heard of this place by a friend and family member and I am not disappointed. The food was flavorful and fresh. I loved the steak frites and the pretzel bites with the fondue. Pretzels were soft and light on salt. The staff is friendly. Our waitress was very informative. The place is spacious and great atmosphere. I would come back ♥︎ thank you.

We only stopped in for drinks and a few snacks, but wow—Culinary Dropout in Tempe did not disappoint! The pretzel bites were soft, warm, and perfectly salty, and that cheese sauce? Totally addictive. We also tried the roasted bread and it was unreal—crusty, buttery, and full of flavor. Drinks were on point, the vibe was relaxed but lively, and the service was super friendly. If the small bites were this good, we can’t wait to come back for a full meal. Highly recommend!

This is where we decided to tailgate before the ASU game, and it couldn’t have been better! 🎉 Culinary Dropout in Tempe’s Farmer Arts District has it all — live music, fun games, plenty of TVs for pre-game hype, and awesome seating options, including private dining areas. The food was spectacular! I had the best salmon, and my friend’s steak frites was incredible. Add in craft cocktails, top-notch service, and an unbeatable vibe, and you’ve got the ultimate spot to kick off game day or enjoy a fun night out in Tempe. #ASU #ForksUp #GameDayVibes #TailgateTime #GoDevils #TempeEats #FarmerArtsDistrict #CulinaryDropout #TempeVibes #SteakFrites #SeafoodLovers #CraftCocktails #FoodieFavorites

Nestled in the heart of Tempe, Arizona, Hayden Butte Preserve, affectionately known as A Mountain, is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. This iconic landmark features a striking 60-foot letter 'A,' symbolizing Arizona State University. The hike to the summit spans about 0.7 miles round trip and offers stunning panoramic views of Tempe and its surroundings.
Great climb. Paved half the way up (the steepest part , and it's pretty steep in parts). Saw plenty of kids walking to the top just fine, though some parents were breathing hard!) Excellent view. If I lived here, I'd climb it weekend mornings regularly for the exercise and sunrise. Wonderful morning breeze at the top
Patrick M — Google review
Plenty of pay to park spots. You can park here and walk all of downtown easily. The butte is a short vertical hike and will definitely get your heart rate going. Bring water and wear proper shoes that don't slip. There are some parts that are loose rocks. You'll do some rock scrambling to sit at the very top. The way down is pretty steep and I was very careful not to fall. Thankful for the railings. I wish the trash cans along the way were emptied more often.

What a great climb right in the middle of Tempe. You can see phx airport, so lots of planes go over. Nice benches, garbage cans, (still some garbage on ground), railing to hang on too, staircase to top lookout area, great signage for Newbies and the view was amazing! Parking across the street in the garage was 2 hour only for bottom rows. Pay parking but nice and shady in there. By the lake across from the butte, there are boats for rent and a flat walking, rollerblading, biking, etc. along the Lake. I'm not sure of the cost, but they looked like fun. Paddle boats shaped like rubber ducky and a swan, canoes, and other boats too. We accessed the parking garage from lake side and also Hayden Butte side. Very nice area!!! I would do this hike again.

A really nice short hike with a great view! It is fairly steep but definitely short enough for all types of hikers to be able to enjoy! I went last week and I thought it was super cute how there were signs with the three wise men! I enjoyed seeing the different types of holiday symbolism! I followed Google Maps and it brought me to the side of the mountain - not a parking lot. But there are a few parking lots and garages nearby so there are parking options. It was roughly 65-70 degrees last week which was perfect!

Ghost Ranch is a vibrant dining destination that reimagines traditional Southwest cuisine with a contemporary twist. This stylish venue offers an inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy happy hour and dinner throughout the week, along with delightful weekend brunches. The menu showcases a variety of dishes inspired by the rich culinary heritage of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and northern Mexico.
Sampler platter, chips, salsa & guacamole and the cornbread. All delicious! There was a large group also there so our food took a little too long but our server gave us the chips appetizer on the house to make up for it. I've been before and the food IS really good, as are the drinks. Recommend.
Caroling G — Google review
After two visits, I can confidently say Ghost Ranch has left a lasting impression. There’s so much to love—where to begin? **Service:** We were fortunate to have Noah as our server on both occasions. He was outstanding—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely personable, which made both dinners even more enjoyable. **Atmosphere:** The decor and ambiance are beautifully done, creating a warm and inviting space. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to slightly lower the volume of the music, which at times felt a bit overpowering. **Food & Drink:** This is where Ghost Ranch truly shines. The menu offers a brilliant fusion of modern cuisine with traditional Mexican and New Mexican flavors. The *Tomahawk Pork Chop* was a standout—perfectly cooked, rich, and deeply savory. We also tried *The Sampler*, which was a fantastic way to explore a variety of flavors and textures, each one thoughtfully prepared. The drink selection complemented the food beautifully, rounding out an exceptional dining experience, but the old fashion called to me and did not disappoint.

Ghost Ranch was such a positive experience. I had driven by it a few times and was very excited to bring my fiancé here. Often times, when something is anticipated so much, it does not live up to it. Not the case here. We ordered their version of elote. It was served in a skillet with the corn on the bottom, cheese and a mayo spread over the top. This was the only dish we were not thrilled about. It was tasty but the layer of cheese was way to thick. The menu mentioned cotija cheese but it was a much thicker, melted version of a cheese blend. It made the dish very oily, which took away. The first couple bites were tasty but the thick cheese and oil got a little overwhelming. Chips were fresh and very good. For our main dish we shared the platter, which was a perfect size and so delicious. I can eat a ton but my fiancé likes little portions of different things so it worked perfectly for us. The skirt steak was cooked to a perfect medium temperature. It also had a great flavor! Many times the skirt steak at a Mexican restaurant is very thin and overcooked. This was thick, juicy and very flavorful. This dish cones with 3 enchiladas as well. Each had a different sauce and was delicious. They seemed to be deep fried for a second because the enchiladas were a little crispy. Not in a bad way at all though. They were very good. Lastly we had desert. It was between 2 but we chose this one. It was a very large portion and very good. The strawberries on top and the whipped cream were a nice touch. Neither of us drink alcohol so we just had water. Atmosphere was great, our server was friendly and the food was great. We will definitely be back.

I debated on even leaving a review, because I don’t want people to know about this place. Walked in around 7pm on a Saturday night. Plenty of tables, so there was no wait - which was unbelievable. Got the queso fondido as an appetizer. Chorizo was amazing with it. Margarita flight was also great. The Fuego margarita is what I’d get next time individually though. I’m an indecisive person so I got the sampler. It was amazing and a great choice, when you want a little bit of everything. Wife got the Aztec cake which was great. I’d honestly get this next time. Finished it off with the Chocoflan which was a 5/5. Honestly, everything here was near perfect. Service was great - particularly Alex. He checked on us often and gave amazing recommendations. Atmosphere was amazing. Lighting was perfect. The price is worth it. This place gives everyone else a run for their money. I’ll absolutely be back here very soon.

A Mountain, also known as Hayden Butte Preserve, is a popular hiking spot located at Arizona State University. The highlight of the butte is the 60-foot concrete letter 'A' that pays tribute to ASU. Hiking up the mountain offers stunning views of Tempe and Town Lake, making it an ideal spot for watching the sunset. The trail is relatively short but steep, providing a good workout for hikers.
Quite a good hike for beginners. The climb is steep but the distance is quite less. Pretty easy climb if you can avoid the heat. You get a beautiful view from up top of the Tempe City. There are plenty of parking spots nearby. However, my suggestion would be to take the metro near Mill Ave and start the climb from there.

Christmas Day hike up “A” Mountain. For as long as we’ve been in Phoenix, this has been on our “list” so when we were looking for a quick hike on Christmas we decided to give it a try. I was surprised to see no free parking even on Christmas, though there was plenty of room in the lot. There’s also street parking with meter pay on Mill. It’s not quite clear where the start of the trail is from this location but we just started heading up and quickly found it. It’s relatively short - but steep. Quite the incline. The views along the way are worth the climb. The very peak is blocked with a gate but most visitors ignored it in order to reach the summit, obviously at your own risk. It is a long way down. All in all, a fun quick hike with an amazing view of the valley.

A mountain is a great spot for a quick hike or just to get outdoors and see the city. Parking is close by, but some lots do require you to pay. You can also take the light rail as there is a stop nearby. The hike takes about 30 min up (granted I had 2 little kids with me). There are rails to assist you in steeper areas, but definitely wear tennis shoes, it is rocky and unsteady in a lot of spots. The view from the top is amazing. You can see 360 views of the valley, including Tempe, ASU, the airport, and more.
Liz S — Google review
Nice short hike, great for families. It’s steep but plenty of areas to relax. Most of the trail is paved but there are a lot of old stairs and rocky parts. It’s was really cool that is located in the middle of the city.
Ivy G — Google review
Great short hike to the top of A mountain at ASU. Used to run to the top in the 90s and the skyline has changed dramatically since then. Some of the steps are pretty steep however there is often a walk around for those. Some of the rocks towards the top are a bit slick depending on your shoes so be cautious for a tweaked ankle. Not a difficult or technical hike. I've seen people in Crocs and flip-flops and even 2 year olds (with assistance) at the top. Just don't do it in the middle of summer on the middle of the day because the sun is on it all the time and it gets wicked hot during those months. Winter is nice.
Michael F — Google review
A mountain is absolutely beautiful. I love hiking A mountain. It’s clean! I love the scenery. You literally can see, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, And more from the Top of the mountain. You get to meet a lot of people along the trail. It’s a great workout spot. It’s a great place to take photos. Most of all you can truly feel free on top of the mountain. Some days I go just to meditate! It’s so dope!

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, is a vibrant and retro chain that offers a seasonal menu of creative breakfast and lunch fare along with cocktails. With outlets in various locations, including Pima Crossing and the Mill Avenue District, Snooze provides a boisterous atmosphere for brunch. The restaurant's colorful and nostalgic decor creates a relaxing environment to enjoy its responsibly-sourced, quality ingredients in classic breakfast dishes like omelets, French toast, and breakfast burritos.
First time ever in this place, already excellent impression at the reception, very kind, atmosphere and furniture like the 70s, wonderful. Food, excellent presentation of the dishes, and cooked in the right way. An exceptional cappuccino, as an Italian I can say that. A truly excellent orange juice and mimosa. A special thanks to our waitress Tren.

This cool little restaurant has a retro vibe. It’s extremely clean and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. For drinks, my wife had an iced coffee and I had a strawberry lemonade. For breakfast we had cinnamon roll pancakes and a pancake trio with cinnamon roll, strawberry shortcake, and crème brûlée pancakes. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted very good.

I have been coming to Snooze for a few years now, and it is one of my favorite breakfast places. What I like about it is the location. It is within walking distance of where I work, making it convenient to walk there whenever I crave a good brunch. One of my favorite dishes there is the breakfast tacos. Breakfast tacos are among my favorite breakfast foods, and I especially enjoy them when I get them with avocado. They also have great omelettes. One of my favorites is their Denver omelette. You can also never go wrong with their breakfast burritos either. The service is fantastic. One server, Bryan, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Whenever I stop by, he is always a pleasure to talk to, and he, along with the other staff members, ensures that I have everything I need. I appreciate how they care about everyone in their restaurant having a great experience. Another thing I like about Snooze is the colorful atmosphere. It is a great place to go not only for brunch, but to brighten up your day whenever you are feeling down. I look forward to future visits and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a great brunch spot in the ASU area.

I absolutely recommend checking this breakfast spot out 😍 The pancake flight was amazing! 3 flavors in one serving: strawberry shortcake, cinnamon roll, and Pineapple upside down and I am glad I didn't substitute anything out. The fresh squeezed orange juice was refreshing and the mixed lemonade special drink was quite flavorful as well. The breakfast tacos with avocado were amazing. Be sure to plan accordingly because this place is PACKED often. Be ready to wait for a table or choose a good off-hour to visit. From 2 people to a group of friends, you're just bound to have an absolutely lovely breakfast here.

Great food and service! Our waitresses were both super friendly and nice. We got the eggs Benedict (the regular ham one and the prosciutto one) which had a good hollandaise. Both were great! However I was not expecting to like the pancakes as much as I did. They really tasted homemade. I don’t even really like pancakes and I came back a second day and ordered them. By far the pineapple upside down pancake was the best, followed by the pumpkin and the cinnamon roll. The Bloody Mary was also great. Highly recommend! We had about a 20 minute wait both times but it was well worth it.

The AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park is a museum managed by the Arizona Historical Society that showcases multimedia and interactive displays on various aspects of Arizona history, including city life. It offers visitors an opportunity to catch up on the state's past from Pumpkinville to present times. The exhibits take visitors through a journey of reminiscence if they are long-time residents or provide them with an overview of the state's heritage within an hour.
Todd at the front desk was very friendly and told us all about the exhibits we would be seeing. His enthusiasm made me want to see EVERYTHING. I don't think the museum had a single visitor besides the two of us the entire time we were there. Plenty of parking. The museum was educational and interesting.

Loved this museum! Very cool Phoenix Lights exhibit! Extensive mineral collection; one of the largest and varied I’ve seen! Highly recommend.
Danny S — Google review
More than impressed- this museum outshines any other museums in the area including the Phoenix science one. There's a large free parking lot with accessible spots. Outside, they have some old mining equipment and a fountain. Inside the museum, there's two stories of long stretching hallways- I'd allot 4-5 hours to soak it all in - so much to see! On the first floor, on the right by the gift shop- they have a room on old Arizona road. From there, they have a room on gems (so pretty) and mining and two glass-walled rooms on history in Arizona. In front, there are glass displays of historical Arizona figures, etc. On the second floor, they have a long winding hallways that takes you through UFO and the Phoenix Lights, historic moments in Arizona and wars in Arizona. What's really nice is it's not just ho-hum historical displays. They also have a lot of interpretive exhibits which go above and beyond. For example, they had a few model homes to resemble the era and one part of the exhibit even was themed to a city in the 1900s. Super cool. Price was more than reasonable and there was so much to see. Also, employees were extremely kind and welcoming!

What a wonderful museum! We were visiting Phoenix for the day and decided to stop in. The people that work there were incredibly friendly and had great stories about Arizona that I didn't know. The exhibits were really well done and covered variety of topics. We will plan to come back next time we are in Phoenix!
Sarah E — Google review
Overall a nice experience, but the exhibits are quite dated. It’s very large on the inside and spread over two floors but I felt some of the exhibits could really be updated as you can tell they haven’t been for quite awhile. There was a very large focus on World War II as well. That’s great, but a lot of other museums cover that so I felt it was a bit redundant. I would’ve liked to have seen more about Native American and other parts of Arizona history. Or especially some more recent history within the last 30 years. It’s $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, but I felt that was a little bit high for what you get in return. I could easily see this being a free museum like the Tempe History Museum. At least it should be a donation type of system, $15 was a bit steep for what you get in return. There is plenty of parking out front so that part is very easy. I feel this is especially suited for elementary school kids versus the avid museum visitor.
Zan L — Google review
A beautiful and popular place for weddings and celebration events! The large outdoor courtyard with access to indoor spaces off each side features a large waterfall as a backdrop to the main event. Yes, it is an amazing museum, but it's more popular for its central location, desert landscaping, and multifunctional event space. The photos here were for the Kids in Focus annual fundraising event, with the Walt Richardson Band, strolling musicians, contortionist, acrobats, large dancing figures, a silent auction (photo after the prizes were claimed), and in the museum lobby were the newest photos by some of the kids, and 8 restaurants brought a delicious food item to share, a nice way to try some yummy dishes. Plan on attending this important event next November, and check out the many scheduled photo exhibits with each child photographer in attendance to sign your photo book and chat with you. Kids in Focus (KIF) is changing young lives! Be part of it!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona, located inside Arizona Mills, is a vibrant amusement center designed for families with children aged 3 to 10. It offers an array of family-friendly exhibits, 4D movies, rides and a fascinating Lego factory tour. The center provides a world of creativity and building fun with themed build and play areas where kids can explore their imaginations using thousands of LEGO bricks.
FIRST TIME VISIT!! Riley at Check in started off our Lego adventure with a very warm welcome and was super sweet to our son! Delanie the master builder took the time to talk to us about their creating process and talk to my son about his interest in her builds and was very sweet and gave him a mini figure! At the end we visited the gift shop, and Mason Took incredibly good care of us and really made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. I can’t believe I just said that I had a good time spending a lot of money but sure enough here I am saying that every penny was worth it and then some we really cannot wait to come back!! THANK YOU! This might be our first time visiting but definitely won’t be our last!!

I recently visited LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Phoenix with my daughter, and honestly, I was disappointed. The only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is because the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our visit. They really tried to make it fun for the kids and were patient and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. This place is extremely overpriced for what you get. We paid over \$30 per person expecting a mini amusement park experience, but it felt more like a glorified indoor play area. There are only a couple of small rides, which were okay but not worth the price of admission. After 20 minutes, my kid was already bored — and we had seen and done just about everything. The activities are very limited. A small indoor playground, and a couple of LEGO build stations, there really wasn’t much else to do. It might be okay if tickets were under \$10 or part of a larger entertainment complex, but at full price, it just doesn’t offer enough. Save your money and try something else.

A neat place to check out as a family, read more about the 4 stars f your kids love, it’s worth checking out. The inside is bright, colorful, and has something for everyone. The big Lego play structure is always a hit, and the race car station where kids can build and race their own cars is hands down the highlight. There’s also a nice little play area outside the entrance, plus a gift shop with member discounts (10% off), which is a nice perk. Parking is easy if you get close to the door, and once you walk in, LEGOLAND is right on the right-hand side. We also love that there’s a frozen yogurt place right next door with a few non-dairy flavors a fun little add-on treat. That said, there are a few downsides. Some of the attractions are really small, like the little indoor train game where you “zap” zombies (not my favorite). There’s also a mini ride and a mini movie theater, but the attractions sometimes lean a little on the scarier side for younger kids. The hours don’t make a lot of sense no evening hours during the week, which isn’t very helpful for families with school aged kids. Depending on the time of day, there aren’t always many staff around. And if you go during a field trip, it can get really busy, so it’s worth checking online before heading out. Overall though, we’re members, and our kids enjoy it every time we go. It could use more seasonal updates and interactive features, but for a small space, it’s a great place for Lego-loving kids. I’d give it 4 stars.

Went to adult night at the Discovery Center and had a great time. There were build challenges, free play, games, prizes, and more. The employees were super friendly and available for assistance. There is a store attached if you are more interested in shopping for Lego or of you want to grab something afterward. There are bathrooms on site and a café where you can purchase water, coffee, soda, and get snacks.

I was not a fan of the Legoland resort in California so I had low expectations going here. This place was GREAT. If we were locals we would totally do the annual pass. One of the rides were down and they were actively trying to fix it (and did!). All of the staff were friendly and we would come back again in a heartbeat. Our kiddo is 2 and a half and loved it. There is even a play area and mini Cafe inside. If you have a few hours to kill come here.

I didn't realize this was inside the mall. The first couple rooms are really dark, kinda scared my almost 2 year old. The place is small but pretty spacious, fun and cute, had little activity centers for the kids. Has a little coffee and food shop, a really big and clean bathroom. Its a cute experience to do once.

I took my four year old son a few days ago. They were having a Halloween special event where you make your own Lego potion. There was only one person working at the table and we waited in line for quite a long time- no problem. When it’s our turn, my four year old who had a stammer (it’s like a stutter but he repeats whole words instead of syllables) was excited. He was being polite and started to talk to the lady. She interrupted him and repeated what he said in a mocking way. He started to say we-we-we want to… and she interrupted and said We-we-we. Extremely rude, mean spirited and hurtful. I was honestly shocked and didn’t say anything at first other than to tell her that he’s just excited and has a stammer. I was able to speak to a manager who said he would talk to the employee. But he didn’t really apologize or offer us a free ticket or anything at all. I didn’t ask for anything I was just very hurt that someone working around kids would be so mean. My kid loves this place so we will probably return, but I really hope that someone in management does something about the young lady who treated us this way. She shouldn’t be interacting with children until she changes her attitude.

Awesome place and you get a discount if you show you went to the aquarium next door, the 4d movie was cool, but just seeing my grandson so happy was the best part, if he could write this review, he'd give it 2 thumbs up. And thats what its all about

Comedy club
The Tempe Improv Comedy Theater is a popular spot for laughs with a full menu and bar service. The theater is known for hosting comedians from all over the country and internationally, as well as having an extensive lineup of local comics. There are also trivia nights, comedy troupes, and live music events hosted by the theater.
Took my mom here for the Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson show and we had a blast! Such a fun and comfortable environment. There’s a two drink minimum and I don’t drink but thankfully they have non alcoholic options. Our server was great and attentive. We did the meet and greet option after the show and it was so much fun.
Nicole A — Google review
The staff was super friendly! Seating was tight, but not as bad as the location in Phoenix. It seemed like anywhere in the house would have good visibility. There is a 2 drink minimum and they aren't really able to customize drinks (for example, there is a pina colada on the menu but you can't get it without alcohol). Two sodas (not on the menu) will run you about $15 plus taxes and tip. Traffic and parking are hectic, but parking is right by the venue and free. We arrived about 30 minutes early and didn't have to wait to be seated. It's really fun to get to see shows in these intimate venues!
Jasmine A — Google review
It takes a lot for me to write a negative review. Normally, I’d just move on and never return. But this one feels necessary, almost a public service. What happened at Tempe Improv wasn’t just bad service; it was bullying disguised as “policy.” And no one deserves to experience that kind of dehumanization. I actually feel bad for the performers who play here, because the management’s lack of empathy creates an atmosphere that stifles connection, the very thing live comedy is supposed to bring out. We’ve been to Tempe Improv before, so we knew about the rigid seating “system,” the two-drink minimum (for overpriced drinks), and the tight, shared tables. None of that was new. But this last visit to support a comedian known for advocating human rights was so painfully ironic that we left before the show even started, after being threatened by management. We arrived early, an hour and a half before showtime, to enjoy food and drinks and support the venue. Our waiter and his trainee were kind and attentive. Then, we had a couple of friends arrive about an hour before the show. The staff at the host stand refused to seat them near us, even though the entire theatre was still empty. When we asked why, we were met with sharp, dismissive attitudes instead of simple communication. We accepted the policy and decided to stand and chat near our friends’ section still well before showtime. A staff member came by, asked if we planned to return to our seats, and when we said yes, she walked away without another word. Minutes later, a short, aggressive manager came up and interrupted our conversation — not to clarify, but to threaten. His words: “You need to go back to your seat or leave.” Leave? For standing in an empty theatre 30 minutes before a show? When I asked why he was being so hostile, he doubled down, saying that once you’re seated, you’re not allowed to move. News to us. Nowhere in their pre-show announcements or policies does it say you must remain seated for 90 minutes before a show or risk being kicked out. We had already paid for tickets, food, and drinks. Yet instead of treating us like guests (or even humans) we were treated like a problem to be controlled. And that’s really the heart of it: Businesses built on rigid systems instead of basic human respect will fail. This isn’t just about one bad manager. It’s about a culture that prioritizes control over care, and policies over people. A place meant for laughter and connection shouldn’t be run with hostility and fear. Tempe Improv has lost something valuable: the trust and goodwill of the people who come to celebrate art, community, and joy. We came to support an artist who stands for human dignity — and left because we weren’t shown any ourselves.
Tiffany B — Google review
Overall the show experience was lovely. Server was nice, and performer was incredible. The venue felt tiny and jam packed. You’re seated shoulder to shoulder and if you get a front row seat, you will not be able to use the bathroom period dot. Drinks were RIDICULOUSLY priced. I got ONE mixed drink, 2 cokes, a water, and some pretzels. The total $75 with 15% tip. I know they make it very clear there is a 2 drink minimum, but non alcoholic drinks being equally as expensive as alcohol at other places is insane. Go to see your favorite performers, but expect to pay a heavy fee on top of your tickets.
Jaydah R — Google review
It was so funnnn! The staff is so nice and helpful, and we had a blast. A bit pricey considering there's a 2 drink minimum on top of already buying tickets, but the atmosphere is nice.
Amber C — Google review
Had a great time, handicap parking is very limited but was able to find decent parking. Seating was good, food was typical bar/comedy show food. Biggest issue was a better beer selection with the requirement of a 2 drink minimum l.
Beau G — Google review
Tempe Improv is hands down one of the best spots around for a proper laugh night out. The venue feels well executed, intimate but with enough capacity so feel of a live show, and the sound, lighting, and stage flow are strong. They bring in quality comedic talent (from local acts to well-known names) and mix in themed shows like ‘Comedy Madness’ that keep things fresh and entertaining. Food is above typical club fare, the bar menu is solid, and the 2-drink minimum is fair considering the experience. The atmosphere combines energy and laid-back comfort, making nights here feel special without being over the top. Always a reliable pick when you want entertainment + great laughs.
Jean W — Google review
If I could give zero, I would. Came to watch Bassem Youssef show on Saturday . Extremely rude staff at the front from hostess to manager. Our waiter Jacob was amazing and did his best to accommodate us, but we were denied by owe in the front desk to sit with our friends only to let another couple that came afterwards sit with them. No apologies, no desire to help or attempt to be nice, by far, the worst customer experience. I asked the manager Micah about his name and he said he would not give me his name and he didn’t have to. Appalling behavior is un understatement .

Morning Squeeze is a vibrant and inviting breakfast spot in Tempe, offering a range of healthy and delicious options. The restaurant features open bar seating inside and a spacious pet-friendly patio outside. Their menu includes an array of breakfast dishes such as benedicts, omelets, avocado toast, overnight oats, pancakes, chicken & waffles, and various egg dishes. Additionally, they offer afternoon delights like sandwiches and salads.
We had an amazing brunch here, and thankfully it wasn’t crowded, most people were off chasing the more overrated breakfast spots nearby. That worked out perfectly for us. The food was excellent, easily one of the best breakfast places in town. We’re giving it 5 stars, thanks to the fantastic service from our attentive server and guest host, Chris, who really went above and beyond. The only downside was a nearby sewer repair that caused a bit of an unpleasant smell, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Thank you!

Food was good…not great, nothing really wrong just lacked the wow factor. I’m picky about corned beef hash and prefer the shredded style, there’s is the diced version and it really lacks that good corned beef experience. The bacon is really good. The lemon zest in the pancakes was a nice touch.

If you’re looking for a cool little morning breakfast place in downtown Phoenix, this is for you. It’s more on the casual side, but the wait staff are super friendly and the food was good. My waitress Parker was all smiles and very sweet. I had to fly in the afternoon so I didn’t get to try out their adult beverages, but next time I’m in Phoenix with a little more time I think I’m gonna be hitting this place up for breakfast.

Great music, great good, and great service! Freshly squeezed orange juice is the best! Got the Greek Omelet and protein shake with oak milk/peanut butter added! Blended to perfection. Sarah our server and the staff was very friendly upon entry and throughout our breakfast. Will come back and definitely recommend. Pardon the partially eaten food, I eat first not the phone 😋😅😂

Attending a conference on the ASU campus, and needed a place for a quick lunch before check-in. Morning Squeeze was perfect. The food was delicious, very nice portions, and well priced. I got the Phat Country Boy - biscuits, gravy, and eggs benedict. My server's name was Chris, and he took good care of me. Great food stop especially for breakfast/lunch/brunch.

Came in today for a quick brunch before my friends nail appointment at 11:30am. We arrived at about 10:23am We were greatly right away. Was told to sit anywhere we wanted to. We sat in about close to the entrance. We were sitting there for about 15 min (10:37am), no waitress came over at all. A mother an daughter came in after us sat down for about 3 min. They sat across from us. The waitress went right up to them with waters. At that point I knew it was time to go somewhere else. Upon leaving, the same waitress stated, didn't see anything you like. I replied we did however we sat here for 15 min or so an wasn't approached. She said sorry I just saw you after I waited on them, I was coming over after. Yes, that's correct after them when we were there 1st. My 1st experience there I won't be returning. Even if the food looked good. 😫

Parker was our server. She was amazing. She was overwhelmed by doing everyone else’s work and was still super kind and efficient. She was the hostess, the bartender, bussed her own tables, mopped up a mess that wasn’t hers. I recommend that her parents get a reward for raising an awesome human. Her boss should make sure she gets a giant bonus. Side note: best Eggs Florentine ever.

Hole in the Rock is a famous geological formation located in Papago Park, featuring multiple cave-like openings formed by natural erosion in red sandstone. The short and easy Hole-in-the-Rock Trail provides visitors with an opportunity to explore this iconic landmark and offers panoramic views of Downtown Phoenix from its summit. Believed to have been used by the ancient Hohokam civilization for tracking the sun's position, it now serves as a picturesque spot for sunrise or sunset viewings.
This was a nice experience. We never seen anything like this before. There was many people also enjoying the sunset. It is not too difficult to climb up inside the hole although I would not recommend sandals. It may be hard to get a good spot if it’s really busy, but overall, we were able to grab a seat and enjoy the sunset.

It’s definitely an easy adventure to the lovely hole in the rock center, usually a crowd to witness the beautiful horizon. We always love coming here and enjoying Mother Nature at its finest. The great outdoors! Plenty of parking and everyone is friendly, safe and enjoyable for a short yet mesmerizing experience, been here many times and will keep visiting!

It is actually a very short hike up to the hole in the rock. Who was easily able to do this in slides. I would definitely recommend bringing some water, because it gets very hot, and there is nothing else around unless you want to pay to get into the zoo. The hole was pretty cool, and we were also able to go through it and sit on the other side in the rocks and get a really nice view.
Daniel P — Google review
What a fantastic way to kick off our Phoenix adventure! As our very first stop on the trip, this quick and easy 0.3-mile out-and-back trail in Papago Park was the perfect low-key intro to the city’s desert vibes. The path is super family-friendly—mostly flat with just a gentle 45-foot elevation gain and a few simple stairs carved into the red sandstone—butte, making it a breeze even if you’re not a hardcore hiker. We zipped through it in about 10 minutes, leaving plenty of time to soak in the magic.
Ellen S — Google review
An amazing rock formation with a natural hole, surrounded by a park with a few scenic ponds. The trail offers a unique hiking experience, surprisingly close to built-up areas and road access. It’s well worth walking the trail to enjoy the view through the rock’s opening. Also an ideal spot for birding, especially at dawn or dusk. I even spotted a few species, including a roadrunner, around midday.

Breath-taking views. Especially at sunset. There is a fairly easy climb up. If you are going to watch the sunset get there early to get a good seat.

Fantastic place to watch the sunrise. It gets crowded but everyone is polite and respectful. Parking is alittle difficult but it’s a very laid back atmosphere. Everyone is there for the same reason and no one is in a rush. When the sun starts to set it gets really quiet and as the sun disappears behind the mountains everyone showed their appreciation to God for the beautiful of it all by cheering and clapping.
Juanita L — Google review
Beautiful! Can definitely get crowded. If you exit and shift to the left, you can still have a beautiful view just not as cool as being in the hole!

The grill was delicious super fresh grilled right in front of you. Super hot delicious French fries. Did you know that french fries are only good for about 7 minutes after their deep fried? Staff were friendly; the only downside was I couldn't find my favorite slot machine. Impressive First Visit! It was our first time at the casino today and we were truly impressed. While the casino is on the smaller side, it’s very well laid out and easy to navigate. There were plenty of friendly staff members around, all eager to help and make sure you’re having a great time. We played some slots and joined the matinee Bingo. The Bingo staff, from the cage to the floor, were incredibly helpful, upbeat, and full of great energy. Their enthusiasm really added to the experience. We also appreciated the little details: free bottled water, spotless restrooms, and the amazing smell of the food! Parking was easy and stress-free too. We had such a great time that we’re already planning our next visit. If you're considering going — do it! You’ll have a blast.

Fantastic place to hang out. We were there for lunch on an ASU game day. Server was amazing. We got a combined 5 glasses of wine (at 6 dollars each per their daily happy hour). Popped into Postino’s Annex in Tempe to celebrate my favorite travel partner’s birthday, and let me tell you, this place is vibes. You’d never guess it’s tucked near a college campus, because the moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve teleported somewhere between a chic wine lounge and your cool friend’s backyard party that somehow always has perfect lighting. The ambiance is warm, laid-back, and effortlessly stylish, exposed brick, dangling lights, and that cozy-meets-trendy energy that makes you want to stay for “just one more glass.” The music’s good, the crowd’s fun, and the staff? Absolute rockstars. They made sure the birthday girl and the five guys she somehow convinced to join her (yes, we all came for moral support and carbs) were taken care of like VIPs. Food? Outstanding. The bruschetta board is basically a love language, and if you’re not pairing it with a bottle (or two) of wine, you’re doing it wrong. Every bite, every sip, every laugh, perfection. Already planning my next excuse to “accidentally” end up back here with a glass of Moscato in hand and a bruschetta board in front of me.

We also ordered hot donut dots which were delicious and olive oil cake that was very good. The restaurant opens to the outside, and the flies were coming in. Not my favorite restaurant.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, including their renowned Red Velvet Waffles and customizable cereal waffles. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, providing a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying their delicious breakfast offerings.
Great food at a great price in a great location. Very conveniently located right by the light rail in the middle of Tempe so getting here is extremely quick and easy. When I came in for breakfast, they were a little bit busy but the service was fast. I ordered a grilled cheese with everything on it. It had several kinds of cheese, bacon, and ham and it was really good. Very cheesy, very flavorful and one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches that I've had in a long time.

In the mood for breakfast, brunch, or lunch and in the Tempe area we found this little spot on the corner. Parking will be an issue as you may have to pay for parking depending on what time and where you decide to drop anchor. Also, depending on the time, how many are in your party, you may have some seating issues. There is a outside seating as well, however, this is the Phoenix metro area so depending on the time of the year it may be scorching outside. Now let's get to the food, pretty decent list to select from. Everyone in our party of 6 found something different to satisfy their food needs. My egg white zucchini was quite delicious. Restrooms not appealing. Otherwise, good place to eat.

Met a friend for breakfast. I ordered the Morning Glory and was excited for it but it needs more flavor. Mimosa was good! Interactions with the staff were friendly. Overall I would definitely come back I enjoyed the atmosphere and views. We went at 9am on a Saturday and had no problem finding a table. You will need to pay for parking but there are quite a few lots/garages around. If you plan on coming late morning maybe check the menu ahead of time. As the others have said you order then find a seat.

Mapped and walked over from hotel during a quick visit. It’s one of the few breakfast/brunch places open at 7am in this area. I have to agree with the other reviews, it’s ok but not spectacular. I was immediately greeted and welcomed, and service was 5 stars. Food tasted just ok, and portions v price were kinda on the small side. There was not an option to add on half orders of waffles to omelet meals. The coffee was good, but my omelet was folded on the egg side and not the cheese side (cheese side up), so all the veggies fell out with each bite I cut with the fork. Atmosphere was weird as there was construction behind the beverage station and street construction just out the front doors. Not a chill coffee & breakfast vibe, but maybe that will change after the construction is complete.

I wanted to come here for the longest time, and I FINALLY made it!! I found out their brunch trivia morning on a Sunday and I committed to making it this time with my lovely friends!! The entire experience was lovely. The flow was smooth. There were no awkward moments and we were given plenty of time to order our food and beverages (via a QR code) eat, and chitchat with each other in between parts of the trivia game. The hosts were lovely and they sounded loud enough for everyone to hear (their AV system is great), so even if you’re seated at a corner, you’ll be fine. The trivia was hosted at one side of the venue, and I didn’t get a chance to check out the other end, but it seemed like there was another birthday party going on at the same time. Now I have an excuse to go back! Of course, I’ll have to check out the game wall at the corner thoroughly as well!!

Very fun place! They have all kinds of games you can check out, pretty much any game you can think of they have available. The espresso martini was delicious, and I highly recommend it. The food was pretty good. It was a little slow getting to us, and it wasn't super warm, but the flavors were good. They have a "dice shot" that you can order, and that was super fun. You pick a dice, and they bring over this castle that you drop the dice in, and your shot is determined by the number your dice lands on. Plus, you get to keep the dice as a souvenir. The decor is super fun, and the chairs are pretty comfortable, we didn't play a game but would have been comfortable enough for a couple hours had we chosen to play a game.

"My favorite cheese is the one you keep around for emergencies. Just in queso." ― @primawesome, Twitter/X Do you know what you need before hitting an ASU game? Carbs! Nachos and beer, baby. Plus an addition of wings too! - Nachos ($19 + $4 for grilled chicken): I can never say no to chips. It could be with guacamole, salsa, or cheese and I'm here for it. The nachos at Snakes & Lattes are legit. You get an "A" Mountain sized pile of chips. Do you need the extra protein? Maybe not. But we were seeing an ASU game in the late August heat. Let me have some protein. - Garlic Parmesan Wings ($15): I wasn't expecting a BWW saucy situation but I'm not mad about it. They were good sized, plumped, and tasty. - OHSO Popcycle Blonde ($8): One of my favorite brews in town and I'm not even a fan of beer. I love the Popcycle Blonde though because It tastes like a lemon raspberry popsicle at an ABV of 4.5%. Don't question it. Just get it. Enjoy food, drinks, and over 1000 board games!

Super cute restaurant that provides board games and delicious food! I love the payment system they have set up and they have so many games to choose from. I also like how there is a game master that comes to each table and can explain the game you want to play. So fun for friends and family!

Cute spot with endless games, coffee flights, and cozy vibes! Snakes & Lattes is such a fun, unique spot! The location is huge, super cute, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I came for a meetup group and had a great time. There are way more games here than I ever knew existed—literally walls of options—and they offer coffee, soft drinks, a full bar, and food. When I first arrived, I went to the bar to order and was kindly redirected to use the QR code at the table instead (which was super convenient). I couldn’t decide what to try, so I went with the coffee flight, which included: Black coffee on ice – Slightly sour, likely due to the beans being ground a bit too coarse. Dirty chai latte – My favorite! Strong chai flavor and the milk balanced out the espresso beautifully. S’mores cold foam – Pretty intense. The mocha base + marshmallow foam was very sweet—great if you have a big sweet tooth. Vanilla caramel – Also sweet, not my thing but not terrible. After sitting indoors for a couple hours, I got chilly and ordered a hot latte. It had a subtle floral note I wasn’t expecting—maybe from the oat milk or an added syrup? Not bad, not amazing, but it warmed me up. Service was pretty quick, and food came out fast too. Some folks in my group got the spinach artichoke dip and chicken sandwiches and said they were solid. My only real gripe is the price—$28 for a 4-drink flight and one latte is steep. But considering the atmosphere, games, and great company, it’s still worth a visit!

Great experience! Visiting town and enjoyed getting to know some folks over shared apps (the elote bites are a must), beverages and board games. There's a per person cost to use board games ($6 currently) but it's totally worth it because the games are in great condition and there's even a board game concierge of sorts to find games for you and even recommend similar games—great way to discover new faves.

I have been coming to Snakes & Lattes in Tempe for several years now. Every time I have stopped by, I have had a great experience. The food is excellent. I like that they have a nice selection of food on their menu. While everything on their menu I have tried has been great, their macaroni and cheese stands out the most. It is some of the best macaroni and cheese I have ever had. You can never go wrong with their desserts either. I have tried every dessert they offer, and they are all fantastic in their own way. To the best of my memory, Snakes & Lattes is where I had my first affogato. While I have had an affogato from several restaurants now, Snakes & Lattes is where I had my initial one. The affogato is a perfect combination of sweet and bitter. Their skillet cookie and waffle sundaes are also excellent choices if you are craving anything sweet. The staff is friendly and attentive. To my knowledge, the only time I have been there is during lunchtime, which tends to be their quietest time during business hours, as they have told me and from experience. Thus, I have had some friendly conversations with the staff about sports and what they enjoy doing for fun outside of work. Another thing I like about Snakes & Lattes is its low-key atmosphere. Not only are there many board games to play, but it is also a brilliant spot to unwind and get a breather in before resuming the workday. It also helps that Snakes & Lattes is within walking distance of my workplace. I would highly recommend Snakes & Lattes to anyone looking for a place to relax, play board games, and grab a bite to eat in downtown Tempe.

Was iffy at first to try this place but glad I did. We got the chicken bacon ranch dip, franks red hot wings, side of spicy Korean chicken. For the main dishes we got the tortellini pasta, spicy chicken sandwich and i got the beef stroganoff. Everything was a 5 out of 5 jalapeños. That stroganoff was the best to me. Fire. Also ordered couple of michaladas and they were ok. Server was awesome. Nice, friendly, attentive. Will come back again and will order the beef stroganoff Again!!!!!

Tempe Town Lake is a popular destination in Tempe, offering various water activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and pedal boat rentals. Visitors can also explore the area on electric boats or two-wheeler options for a unique experience around the Sonoran Desert. The lake provides a picturesque setting to enjoy sunsets and leisurely walks along its paths. Additionally, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance, making it convenient for visitors to grab a bite after their outdoor adventures.
My favorite place in Arizona. Tempe Town lake is beautiful at sunset, you can see the sun coming down reflecting on the water and the city lights from the buildings in front. It is a great area to walk, run, ride a bike, have a picnic, sit on the grass with friends or by yourself. It is very clean, not noisy and you get to see some people paddling or kayaking in the water too. I come here often for a walk or just to sit and relax with family.

Today I came to the boat park , surprisingly there was not a single vehicle in the parking lot or anyone sitting at the Cabana. By the time I pulled into the parking lot to toss a piece of trash in the garage can a Tempe park patrol or maintenance truck came into the park and blocked my exit. I went the opposite direction and a biker with full face covering came out of nowhere. As I am leaving another vehicle was speeding to the park. The Tempe truck went around the maria and came out as I had made it to the tunnel. A white vehicle appear to be following me to the highway. I have came to this park many times and it never cease to amaze me that I can't sit by the water in peace . Based on how it's set up I think it's a make out spot for people. Apparently these people think I'm selling something or want to buy something based on their actions. On occasion the men will stop in front of my vehicle to take their shirt off or they will mouth Are you good? The longest I have parked in this park is 15 minutes it's not a good location due to the one way exit. The homeless people on the bike trail start circling around as if they are casing the parking lot. One will pass by within a few minutes four to five bikes are on the bike trail. Because they have an advantage, based on what I can sense they hang out on the ridge giving them a Birdseye view and concealing their location. If I'm in the area I stop by the park to see if the situation has changed,it's been over six months and the same shabby crew is running the park . Be aware of your surroundings the homeless community have electric bikes they fly by on that bike trail like mosquitoes you are at a disadvantage due to the obstruction. They come from behind there and they are gone in seconds. I was outside my vehicle and I could hear someone whistling but I didn't see them by the time I entered my vehicle homeless person with a full back pack and walking stick came into view. As they started walking towards my vehicle I left the parking lot. The homeless person turned around and went back towards the ridge. Word of caution don't left the waterfront fool you that it's a place of peace, keep your head on a swivel.

tempe town lake, oh what an experience. we rented the bird scooters and had a blast. even without them, it's such a pretty place to talk and hang out. my best friend and I were here for a few hours just taking in the sunset and vibes. plenty of walking paths and so many places downtown you could go and eat etc. we had a really good time. and we liked it so much we came back the next night too. fyi the bird scooters, a little more info, you'll need the app to unlock and begin the rides. and it's roughly 48¢ a minute. they max out at 18 mph and are solar powered. you can lock them say if you're grabbing food and you can park it outside. and when you're finished you just end the ride on the app and you can park it wherever (within reason of course). overall, the atmosphere is lively and everything is pretty well lit. the park does close at midnight so just be sure to have your fun before that. ;)

From the drive to the Top, to the service, to the food… everything was absolutely an amazing! The salmon had a delicious caramelized crust. The Filet Mignon had the perfect tenderness! Rockefeller Oyster , I ate with their flavorful bread… so good! Celebrating birthday with a pecans in dessert was ohhhh so satisfying! The service was excellent! Our server was so sweet and friendly. His smile made us feel at ease since it was our first time at the restaurant.

Talk about a Great View! Our meal and service was great. Chris did a wonderful job taking care of us. We were there for my Wife's birthday and we are very glad that we did. We ordered the charcuterie board and the bone marrow to start. Both were well worth it. We also ordered the NY Strip and the Portobello Mushrooms, again these were a great option. Chris brought over a little dessert to celebrate my Wife's birthday, what a pleasant surprise that was. What a wonderful time we had. Great meal, great service and a wonderful view of the City. The only downside was a rowdy group that had a couple of loud individuals and even though there is a business casual dress code there were a few people in shorts, hoodies and graphic t shirts. Not really what you expect to see in an establishment like this. All in all, Top of the Rock has been added to our favorite places to dine.

Took my husband on a dinner date after a work conference we were attending. It was very nice. The food was amazing and the view was breathtaking! The lobster was so tender! And the service was very good too! I will definitely come back when in town. Very beautiful place to propose with the sunset. Or just come for a romantic dinner. Totally worth it and recommend it.

I went to Top of the Rock a couple of days ago to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful evening! The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, with beautiful views that made it feel extra special. The staff was so kind and attentive, and they really helped make the night go smoothly. The food was amazing everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked. My mother in law was so happy, which meant a lot to us. It truly felt like the perfect spot for a special occasion.

We loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant. We are from Chicago and have very high standards for food & service. We were visiting friends & I found this place while doing research on places to eat as I have a gluten allergy. This. Place. Is. Perfect. The ambiance is beautiful, the staff was very friendly & efficient. I booked our reservations for outdoors as the weather was 83°. And would still be nice into the evening. I wanted to book the time frame so we'd have sunshine, then see the sunset & the lights displayed in the evening all around the restaurant. THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING!!! The staff were attentive and helpful with recommendations. Our food was absolutely delicious! I ordered Seabass with mashed potatoes & asparagus. My hubby had roasted chicken. Our friends ordered lamb chops & the charcuterie board. We throughly enjoyed our evening!! I will return every time I come to AZ. If you visit AZ and it's not too far away you MUST book your resey here.

Incredible restaurant with decadent dining and breathtaking views of the city lights. Definitely a splurge but the food is delicious and plated to perfection. P.S. they served us a complimentary focaccia that was quite literally the BEST I have ever had. Stellar service, a total 5 ⭐️ dining experience.

Nice views, and a good option if you’re in the area. Otherwise, head to the patio on Sanctuary for better views and service. Wait staff was great, but it took the hostess 10-15 minutes to check us into an empty restaurant shortly after it opened for the evening. Also, the teak patio furniture needs refinishing and makes the restaurant look dated. If you’re looking to impress someone on a date, recommend Sanctuary or Wrigley Mansion as alternatives. If it’s convenient and you’re in the area, it’s a nice stop.
Melissa H — Google review
Overall I think the restaurant was immaculately designed with incredibly high vaulted ceilings and lovely interior. The view is subpar at best as most of it just of a high way. Maybe we came on subpar day, but it was Sunday evening and you’d imagine they’d be better staffed and supplied for the meal. Service - the wait staff seemed a bit stretched thin given the large crowd. The gap in between appetizer and our entrees was more than 30mins and thought the staff would accommodate with something, but I guess that’s not the establishment they were. They were sold out of a few items and certain entrees were running short, but the seafood pasta ordered was directly said that it would come with one less scallop and compensated with extra clams and muscles. Food - we ordered oysters Rockefeller, NY Strip, seafood laced fettuccine, and side order of Mac cheese. The highlight was probably the appetizer and oysters which had a nice briney bite with a lovely crispy top. NY strip - was bone dry and not ordered to hope we wanted it cooked. We asked for medium rare it came out well done at best. The amount of chews per bite were quite a bit. Given how long we waited to get our entrees, we didn’t want to risk returning and waiting longer for the potential of a steak cooked we wanted. Seafood pasta - the seafood was cooked well and shrimp was well done. The one scallop was fine and muscles and clams were lovely. The pasta wasn’t salted and the sauce had no seasoning away from a lemon forward taste. It felt just like butter and lemon with just no seasoning. Mac and Cheese - was just super dry. Had some bacon bits in between that provided some texture, but it felt like just a cream cheese and noodles combined with some bacon.

The Hall of Flame Fire Museum is a captivating destination for anyone interested in the rich history of firefighting. Nestled on the west side of Papago Park, this multi-gallery museum features an impressive array of firefighting artifacts, including fire engines dating back to 1725 and extending through to 1969. Visitors can marvel at vintage fire hoses, helmets, and uniforms while exploring how firefighting has evolved over the centuries.
We had a fantastic time at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum! 🚒🔥 The museum is filled with beautifully restored fire trucks, fascinating exhibits, and a great history of firefighting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. My toddler especially enjoyed exploring and was excited to receive a book and a sticker, which was such a thoughtful touch! 📖✨ It’s a great place for families, history lovers, and anyone interested in firefighting. Highly recommend visiting! 😊👨‍🚒🚒

We we're able to buy discounted tickets from Groupon and boy were they worth it, so much so that I highly recommend taking your children, family, or friends. The museum doesn't look that big, however when you start your tour and notice that you have been there two hours you will understand what I'm sharing. We never knew that the Hall of Flame Museum even existed, almost every large city in America 🇺🇸 has one. They all share things in common such as lay down your life for others, the many sacrifices made by the men/women are incredible. And this history has been preserved for us, please learn about how American's are a loving nation. ❤️

This museum was great for both me and my toddler. He loved the firetrucks, and I was very moved by the displays honoring the sacrifices that have been made by firefighters. They have a firetruck that kids can climb on, and there's a great kids play area learning all about fire safety. They have a truck that was there on 9/11, and also one from our Arizona Hot Shots. The staff were so friendly and sweet to my kid. Give this place some love, they're totally worth it.

We had a good time at the museum. Great place for kids if they are interested in fire trucks. The displays are great visually and if you are interested in doing a little reading and paying attention you can learn a great deal about Fireman history. The staff is knowledgeable and I think we would have spent more than two hours there if we weren’t already tired from touring museums all day.

I wasn't sure that I would enjoy the Hall of Flame museum. I knew I'd have a good time because I was with several friends. We got there and Bob, who works on various Fridays, took it upon himself, after we entered and looked around to take us on a personal tour. I think we got halfway through the first room of the multi-room tour, and realized that two and a half hours had past. Bob was extremely well-educated regarding the history of firefighting and he gave us a delightful tour. I bought an annual pass so that myself and group members can come back for more tour stories and interesting history from Bob on future Friday's when he is there. I'm sure the other volunteers and employees are also excellent tour guides. We were incredibly impressed with the history of firefighting and the fire engines/ machines. Bob and the other men there were very cordial and knowledgeable. I would very highly recommend this to anybody who wants a unique experience and a walk through the past!!

S'edav Va'aki Museum, formerly known as Pueblo Grande Museum, is an archaeological site and museum that focuses on the history and culture of the Hohokam people who lived in the Phoenix area from AD 450 to 1450. The indoor exhibits inside an adobe building showcase photos and artifacts related to the Hohokam people, while outdoor trails lead visitors through different areas highlighting their desert way of life.
Nice museum where you can see ruins of a native american village. There's a small trail that loops around the area with signs explaining each site. The museum inside tells the story the story of the people who lived there and how different periods in history changed their way of life and surroundings. There's also a small giftshop where you can souvenirs.

A small but mighty museum. I really expected more exhibitions inside but even if small it was very informative and interesting to find out about the canals and how people have made Phoenix their homes for many centuries. I specially loved the outside houses and structures to get a better idea of what life was like then
Lorena S — Google review
My only lament is that I did not have all the time I wanted to spend here. The archeological site of the va'aki was impressive to behold and contemplate. I loved getting to connect with the physical site and imagining the life of the O'odham people a thousand or so years ago and imagining their lives, pondering their engineering and how it made this unforgiving environment liveable. The bonus is realizing this museum represents a ground zero of Phoenix's origin story. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

One of the best museums I've ever been to! It's not big but this place is absolutely amazing! It offers a great outlook to the history of the place, educates about the ways of the native people of this area, how smart and sustainable their way of life used to be before... Outstanding work of preservation of the ancient structure! Thank you so much! Highly recommend everyone to visit but especially the people who live in the area. We have to know the history and the legacy of the place we live in!

I would have given five stars if there were more to explore inside but that is neither here nor there. I enjoyed looking at all that they have outside as well. I loved that they have a garden and kitchen props and that you could see how the inside of the homes looked. I went on a Sunday and there was minimal people there.

Very nice, and recently updated, information in the museum exhibit. The site is very valuable for its cultural context and the historical information it provides. Very nice little gift shop with local, native art, cultural and food products. They had an event going on the day I visited, with native dancers and local artisans. Overall the museum seems to be doing a great job partnering with local tribal members and stewarding the site to preserve its significance for years to come.

I used a library culture pass to see this. It also counts as an Arizona 250 site. I hadn't been here since a kid. It's very interesting for those who appreciaye archeological sites. The docent gave an interesting and informative talk. I appreciated the quiet and gentle walk thru and on top of the ruins. It gives you a better understanding of the size and depths of the structures. I would recommend visiting in the mornings, as it still gets warm even during the Fall. This museum is located in the heart of the city, so it's really a juxtaposition of the old amongst the new. There's a lot of signage to read in the museum, but we mainly enjoyed the stroll.

Went to see my first play here. The venue was absolutely beautiful and the theater was just the right size. We ended up with front row seats and I personally wouldn't recommend it! I loved every aspect of it. We had very good seats (3rd row from front) and I loved being able to see the harpist playing as well as the Maestro so close. It must’ve been one of the most magical things I’ve ever seen in my life. Just such an amazing experience all around! Thank you!!!

Category: Performance venue. We have seen several great shows at this venue, but the venue is a great show in itself. The monumental atrium with arched steel trusses houses the main Theatre, the Studio theater, and the Gallery, each of which is identified by a huge neon-ish sign. Dramatic catwalks provide access between the Theatre’s tiers and the elevators. The wall of windows looks out over the patio, Tempe Lake, and spectacular walking bridge. The facility has a large, adjacent parking garage and is a short walk to Tempe restaurants, where we dine either before or after the show. There is also a bar with a few snacks on the first floor, with tables both inside and outside. Suggestion: add a LOT more tables outside; there’s plenty of space. We have only attended shows in the Theatre, which has a large proscenium stage, great acoustics, several tiers with a sufficient rake to prevent any heads from blocking anyone’s view, and enough knee room between you and the next row or the balcony wall. We really enjoy seeing shows here. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

I am an actor, and I have worked in the theater there a couple of times, ( I was just there as an understudy last night) and I have been there as an audience member as well. It is beautiful! The scenic town lake is lovely, and the bar and gallery are a great way to pass time before your show begins. Backstage is wonderful. They are a pro establishment, it's pristine, there are several bathrooms, and the dressing rooms are spacious and include a bathroom with 2 stalls, 2 sinks, and a shower. There is a small lounge area, and the stage, lighting, and sound setups are fantastic. I feel very at ease there. There are 2 theatres within the center for live stage performances. One is large, and the other is about mid-size and provides a more intimate theatre experience. I love it there.

So far, I haven’t been to any of the shows, but they have a great lineup of theatre productions, and the free exhibit they offer is really neat. I love that there is a Starbucks inside and the view of the lake and the landscaping is so beautiful at sunset. There are cute rabbits outside, too.

I always enjoy going to the theater here. Easy access and free covered parking with annual membership. I really enjoyed the show, "Deceived." It's a more modern version of the 1938 play "gas light." The performers were on target and really got us involved. Lots of fun! If I had one thing bad to say about it I would say that the seats are hard, thus not very comfortable. Still, worth every penny and time to go there. They also have food and drink. And yes they have handicap parking and bathroom accessories.

Tempe Center for the Arts is a beautiful entertainment structure. It's modern design is reminiscent of Frank Loyd Wrights work. Phoenix Rock Gym is an indoor rock climbing facility that offers a year-round opportunity for climbers to hone their skills. With over 17,000 square feet of climbing surface and walls reaching up to 30 meters high, this gym provides a challenging environment for climbers of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, the gym offers instruction and support on-site.
The Phoenix Rock Gym is a Tempe-based business that I visited, with a large group, for a youth program in January 2025. While the business itself looked to be organized and taken care of, and while the youth (ages 13-18) who joined us enjoyed their time here, I was most impressed with the amazing staff. The staff were very professional, and so helpful to everyone (beginners and experts) that visited. With staff who exhibit such professionalism, and are so helpful, this is a place i'd gladly visit again; and it's undeniably a place that I would bring groups to (regardless of their previous experience with wall climbing).

It was our first visit because my daughter said she wanted to try climbing. The facility was really large and had many climbing zones with various levels of difficulty. The indoor space was full of people climbing, and it looked really cool. The staff gave us detailed explanations and even taught us how to tie knots and handle the ropes throughout, which was very helpful. My daughter said climbing was fun and wants to come often. It's actually more tiring for the parent holding the rope at the bottom than for the one climbing, though!

Me and my friend went for the first time and it was awesome. An employee named Nico assisted us and took his time with us without rushing or causing an annoyance. And he helped take this photo thank you Nico!

One of my absolute favorite spots to go defy gravity and pretend I’m more spider than man. They’ve got it all, straight-up climbs, inverted walls that make you question your life choices halfway up, funky angled routes, and enough color-coded holds to keep your brain working as hard as your arms. Bouldering, rope climbing, lead climbing, even a pull-up bar so you can flex on your rest breaks or cry in between sets. Prices bumped up a bit recently, but let’s be honest, so did eggs, rent, and the cost of breathing. It’s still only twenty bucks to climb until your arms fall off, and that’s a steal these days. Rentals are extra, but not insultingly so. Staff? Chill and friendly, like the kind of people who can spot you mid-fall and recommend the best flavor of ice cream bar after. Oh yeah, they’ve got snacks and drinks too, because you’re gonna earn ‘em. Solid vibe, killer routes, and just a great spot to get a workout in without having to fake liking the treadmill.

I visited Phoenix Rock Gym in Tempe and had a fantastic time climbing. The facility features tall walls (30 ft or more) with many routes for top-rope and lead climbers, making it both challenging and fun. My orientation was smooth, equipment rental was straightforward, and the staff were helpful without being overbearing. The community vibe is strong, really felt like a place to hang out and climb, not just a gym. If you’re looking for a climbing place near Phoenix where you can get a good workout and meet other climbers, Phoenix Rock Gym is definitely worth checking out.
Patricia M — Google review
Unfortunately this was a very poor climbing experience, especially as a first time introducing a friend to climbing. It felt like a time capsule of a climbing gym, and not in a good and nostalgic way, at least for me. There is a very long introductory video that clearly hasn’t been updated in decades, belayers are required to use very old belay devices that are attached already to each route & also tether themselves to the ground, even when climbing with a partner near the same size and weight. I found the tether unnecessary and limiting as a belayer. The climber’s figure 8 knot is already tied, which to me, limits the learning process & experience. It felt like being spoon-fed climbing. On top of that, the routes were marked with tape, with holds being various colors all the way up, and very hard to differentiate which holds your feet can go on, when looking from above. I don’t know this for certain, but the slick nature of the holds seems like they don’t pressure wash them too often either. I did enjoy the style of a few of the routes though, which is why I gave more than 1 star. Honestly if they put some effort into updating their policies, I think a lot of people would have better experiences.
Bee S — Google review
Went with my friend and was super fun plus only $20 for a day pass if you own your own gear. Grigri's on every rope was a cool idea. Bouldering areas are well designed and fun. Wish I got to try the lead climbing area since the routes look fun.

Awesome, awesome place to go to. I went there and it was my first time doing any sort of rock climbing at all. The staff were super helpful and it was easier to learn the basics than I thought it would be. It’s a very cool environment with tons of space. I recommend it for sure and am looking forward to going back

Produce market
Singh Meadows is a renowned market and cafe in Tempe, offering locally sourced produce, light eats, and a variety of items made by local artisans. Established in 2000 with a focus on promoting healthy living through locally-sourced products, it has expanded to include a cafe, juice bar, and produce market. Set on 75 acres of picturesque land with green spaces and walking trails, Singh Meadows offers an array of fresh fruits and vegetables from its on-site gardens.
**Please note Singh Meadows is not open to its full capacity as it used to be. The market, cafe, and barking bodega have not been open consistently or open at all for some period of time. Please keep this in mind before you plan to drive over. I’m trying to save you the trip*** If you decide to go over there, maybe call first to see what is open on that day :) (The pictures I posted are from 2022 when we went semi-regularly). That being said, I’m a big supporter of this place when operational, it is really awesome. We live within 5 minutes walking distance in the community right behind Singh Meadows off of Miller Rd. This is a heads up to people that the only thing really going on at the farm at this time is being able to get soil/compost. The market and cafe have been closed, I’m not sure for how long. So, Google shows hours of 8am to 2pm as “open” and technically it is, but all of the great aspects of the farm aren’t happening…expect just getting soil/compost for your home garden. I spoke to Mr. Singh today when I called to check on the status since I have friends who wanted to meet me there, and we had a good conversation on how things have been going at S.M. He said on their FB page they have updated people about the change in operations, but I don’t really use FB much so please note here that the main thing to do here at the moment is get composting for your garden. The Singh family experienced a loss in the family which impacted the farms operations. Please be patient with the ownership to get things up and running again. This is a place that people want to come and enjoy, but it’s not running at its full capacity right now. This info is current as of 3/29/24.

Singh Meadows in Tempe is a beautifully tranquil farmers market experience tucked into neighborhood green space. The fresh produce selections feel local and high quality, crisp greens, colorful fruits, artisan items, and the café side complements perfectly with vegetarian dishes and fresh juices. The ambiance is serene, with outdoor seating near water features and plenty of shade, making it more than just shopping, it’s a peaceful morning out. Whether I’m there for groceries, a juice, or just the vibe, Singh Meadows always delivers a warm, nourishing experience

Remember you're paying for the atmosphere when you order your food. I'm not going to lie, it's pricey but also delicious. Hummus plate: $10.95 gets 1/2 cup hummus, 5 cherry tomatoes, 4 broccoli florets, 4 cauliflower florets, 4 cut up radishes, 1 sliced small carrot & 1 small sliced pita. Very fresh and organic. Breakfast chibatta $9.95 plus I added 1 thick slice bacon for $2.50 but wasn't there supposed to be cheese and avocado? Large coffee: $5.40. 3x3x3 piece of oatmeal cake. $5 plus tax. Maybe I'm just out of touch after being away from restaurants this last year because I thought everything was overpriced. Maybe it's just me. Very peaceful and relaxing except I could have done without the music. I'll be going back when it's cooler (hey owner if you're reading this... install some overhead fans) and when I have deeper pockets.

Poor garden soil quality. Needed to rebuild my garden and wanted to use Singh Meadows mulch and soil. The soil was 90% river silt and nothing grew in it for two seasons now. The small amount of organic material was used to color the silt. Ended up digging up and replacing with a different provider. Alot of time and money wasted. If you want productive garden do not use.

Beautiful place. Great produce and price! Lines are a bit long and they only have one register is the only down fall. I was going to go back and grab a jar of honey before leaving but the line was too long.

This is the place to be on the weekends, farmers market, so you have all your fresh veggies for the week, they also have a grill for breakfast/lunch foods, plus fresh baked breads, homemade golden honey, pickles, fresh juices and teas and a ton of other goodies. The space outside opens up TO a HUGE grassy area, with a pond and an area for volleyball. Bring a blanket enjoy the birds, the sun and enjoy the weekend and Singh Meadows.

This place is wonderful, and the best use of an old golf course I have seen. It is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and there is a mellow atmosphere. We brought our dog this past weekend, and it was great for our morning walk. Also, since we’ve had so many monsoons lately, the wash that borders it looked like a river.

What a great spot! The amount of space to let littles run around and play is amazing. There is a pond and ducks to help entertain. If you don’t get there early, expect a line. Food is decent but I was disappointed that the menu online is nothing like what is actually offered. Only two food options were available in addition to pastries. Either way, worth the visit!

Had a kid party indoor here. VERY worth .every penny! You are assigned an employee to assist and mine rocked. It was easy set up easy tare down. The wave pool was awesome, of course. There was only one thing I wished, maybe have a bucket or sink to dump drinks into? Also, we split some soda and I could not clean it properly.. I let my helper know later
Rachel D — Google review
8.5/10. This is a wonderful idea, and I wish more people had pools like this one.. But there were just a few small things... The lockers take quarters to lock up your stuff. Heads up. We didn't know this... but you can leave your stuff on the pool deck and hope no one has sticky fingers. (We left ours on the deck because we came with only our card and no cash) Also, the slide shuts down when the wave pool is going, which is understandable-ish. But the kids all have to leave back down the stairs, and then they have to wait in line all over again, hoping that they will get a chance before they close for the waves again. There is a similar water park a little west of the city, and they have enough lifeguards to cover the wave pool and slide.. Maybe they should look into that? Just like 2 that are slide duty. Loved that you could purchase snacks at the time of. But NOT NEEDED! There were better things if you just wait for the snack shop... love that there is a snack shop. Decent one, too. But aside from that. This was a great place to escape the heat. We drove from Tucson for the indoor pool. Overall, it's worth it.

My Granddaughter & I needed a place indoors to practice basketball, so we found Kiwanis Rec Center online. The entry fee was reasonable, but the time that we went, afternoon, was pretty crowded. We did eventually get to practice on a shared court. I suggest that you go early if you want a court to yourself, which is what we did the next time visited. Early morning the best! Call ahead, though!!

Enjoyed the Christmas self-guided tour yesterday. In addition to the fabulous tour of the house, EVERYone of the dioceses was incredibly special. Their personalities shined bright and made the tour and visit so special. They truly educated us and we learned a lot. The storyteller could really spin the tales about the "little people", gnomes, etc. Our "old man" historian was a kick in the pants playing the "old man" and verbally sparing with us. The young man from ASU was a great sport as we teased him and bounced our questions off of him! All in good humor but a great addition to the fabulous tour! The Christmas carolers added to the Christmas spirit and we're amazingly talented!

When in Tempe, don't miss the chance to experience the electric atmosphere of Sun Devil Soccer Stadium on the Arizona State University campus. Home to the ASU Sun Devils, this stadium offers an exciting venue for college soccer games. The elevated seating provides excellent views of the entire field, and amenities like concession stands and restrooms add to the overall experience.
Watched a lot of lacrosse games here! So much fun! It gets very hot though, and there isn’t any shade. To bring a hat and sunscreen and Mabye and umbrella
Jaycee B — Google review
Very well kept field. The stadium is built out of cement, lots of bathroom stalls, not a bad setup. As with most venues, expect to have your bag to be inspected. If you are a cameraman or something other, then a standard attendee. This venue does not allow tinted clear bags, only clear. Dimensions allowed are 12"x12"x5. Anything outside of these requirements will not be allowed, and there is no check-in location. You will need to take your bag back to your car. There are a few exceptions, of course, like medical reasons and strollers, etc, but you still have to follow certain guidelines. This is not a reentry venue either. So once you enter, you can not exit unless you want to pay for another ticket. If I they are available. Umbrellas and other shade items are not allowed except for very small umbrellas. Parking is alongside streets and there are a couple of small parking areas. Typically, parking is not a problem on weeknight games. Currently, the media box is a covered table and tent in the back of the stadium seating. Your back is to the sunset, which helps with evening games to keep things a little cooler. The ticket box is to the right of the gates and is a smaller cylindrical building, mostly windowed. If you have will call tickets, they send you the ticket via text once you prove your identity, so be sure to bring proof. They then send you a text with a scan link so you can go through the metal detectors and entry like online purchases of tickets.
Personable P — Google review
Poor ingress, took way to long to get into the stadium for an soccer game I attended this week. Two metal detectors for a facility with a capacity over 2,000 seats is insufficient. Also the game I attended was significantly over sold resulting in a lot of people who had to stand the entire game haveing a less than ideal experience. They should add additional seating behind the goals in order accomodate fans more comfortably.
Spencer J — Google review
This is a decent stadium 🏟️; and it's home to some good, entertaining soccer. At minimum, the Sun Devil Soccer Stadium (and ASU's Women's soccer team) is worth a visit when in Tempe. We visited for the annual free game (at the beginning of the season), so I'm not sure what the costs are.
Jared B — Google review
One of the nicest soccer and lacrosse facilities I have been to as an official. Can't speak to the stands since I have only ever been there on the field but they are raised up and seem to have a great view of the field. The grass is amazing and incredibly well taken care of. All events are well staffed with lots of people around to answer questions and provide directions. There's adjacent parking lots that provide convenient parking and a strip mall a short walk away that has a number of food restaurants and a trader Joe's. What's not to love?!
LB — Google review
This is a pretty nice soccer stadium. Sits high so you can see the whole field. It had a concession stand to buy food and drinks and it also has restrooms...although it flooded and was closed half way through the game when we were there. It just needs more parking.

For the graduation ceremony for May 19, 2025 at night, the best thing was the safe car exits. The staff in the lobby/hallway were very kind and respectful. The staff for seating/outside were very rude, snappy and not polite. We couldn't bring in nothing really besides a bouquet of flowers Majority of families congratulations posters were throw away rudely by staff, personal water bottles taken a way, balloons snatch from families, we couldn't bring our small or any size purses however there was many other people that had purses and their personal drinks. It was unfair treatment and disrespect. When it came to seating the seats were very stiff with no leg space and the steps were steep. And 2 staff members were very rude when it came to seating. The way some of them treated parents and families coming to witness their family member graduate, wasn't there for all that extra disrespect or high security rules. I think the high school organizers got to be more clear on what's is and not expected for the event to avoid the hassle.

Poor excuse for a arboretum, especially for a university. Less than an acre of plants. Most id. tags were missing or unreadable. The tags that were there provided little information. Lots of dead plants. Not worth the effort to go, even though admission is free. If you do go, don't pay for more than a hour of parking.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had the best experience at Sun Devil Stadium! A friend of mine has a hip injury, so we flagged down a police officer who arranged a golf cart ride for us. They brought us to a back entrance with elevator access—so helpful and accommodating. 🙌 If you have mobility issues, I’d definitely recommend driving and parking on the north side of the stadium where you can enter and easily access elevators. Taking an Uber isn’t the best option for accessibility. Once inside, everything was fantastic—the food was awesome, no lines, and the stadium itself is such an impressive venue. However, there were a few downsides worth mentioning. Firstly, the bleachers were quite uncomfortable, which made sitting for long periods a bit challenging. Additionally, there weren't enough restrooms, leading to long lines and congestion in the communal walk areas, which was frustrating at times. Lastly, the lack of shaded areas left us exposed to the intense Arizona sun, making it quite hot during the afternoon. Despite these drawbacks, we still had a blast overall!

My daughter is in Arizona State University alumni and we try to attend at least two games a year. The experience is always tops and the whole venue offers great options in drinks and food.

Great stadium! Arrive early to find you seats, it can get busy getting in the gate. Clear bag policy in play, so be prepared.

First time first experience in AZ for my Birthday and the view was breathtaking the hike was not bad at all yes always be careful and please wear close shoes also take some water, it’s also safe to take a flashlight at night time specially when coming down or you can use your phone.

Few experiences in the Valley match the electric energy of an Arizona State University football game at Mountain America Stadium. Nestled in the heart of Tempe, this legendary venue—once known as Sun Devil Stadium—has been the backdrop for unforgettable rivalries, historic plays, and generations of school spirit.

Well placed and close to playground. No one using. Yesterday, Friday, at an other splash pad was being used by many children.
PERSOP — Google review
It's a smaller splash area than others that I've seen. They had 2 red hoops spaced apart to run through and what appears to be half of a fire truck- very very tiny model version of it. There were also 2 smallish blue things that I imagine would also spray some water. Just not much to see, not much to do at this area. A bit farther back in the splash pad, they also randomly have some tiny seesaws. (Doesn't seem like a good spot to place them.)

Technology museum
My wife and I are from out of town and were in the area killing time and found this place on GMaps. It was a really cool experience! Bob is knowledgeable and engaging. He spent an hour taking us around, showing off his collection, and answering our questions. Super nice guy! The collection is organized and well maintained. I would guess this place has special significance if you work with lasers or holograms, but it was definitely still interesting to us. Explanations were technical but not over our heads. It’s located in an office park, and probably not an all day activity (unless you are in the industry), but it was exactly the kind of thing we were looking for and we cannot stop talking about lasers now!
Jeff S — Google review
Bob is super passionate about his area of study and is thoroughly experienced. This is a great collection of lasers from the decades since the device's invention. For anyone with a bit of physics knowledge, you'll be able to walk out of here with a great understanding of how lasers and holograms work. Highly recommend!

Amazing museum, outstanding host! My son and I stopped in, expecting a typical small museum visit. But this was so much more! Bob took an hour of his own time to show us and discuss everything we were interested in learning about, and answering all of our technical and historical questions about lasers and holograms. What an amazing person, with an incredible collection of niche technology history!

Really fun and insightful tour! Bob is a great guy and passionate about lasers, everyone should really come and pay a visit 👍👍

Had a wonderful time today at the laser museum!! Bob was so nice! You could feel his passion as he showed us around and gave wonderful talks about the various pieces on display! If you're a science nerd or looking for something to see, I would definitely recommend stopping by. Make sure to call ahead though first!

My wife and I stopped in to beat the heat and try out something new and we were not disappointed! Bob has so many lasers and intricate holograms set up, he also has such a passion for it. He explained everything so well and as someone who’s never liked science, I was fascinated. Will be telling all our friends and family to visit, such a cool place to learn something new!

A really cool place with some really cool science! My 11 and 13 year old boys enjoyed seeing so many different types of lasers here while we were in town on vacation in Arizona! And the holograms are incredibly neat to see in person. Bob at Vintage Lasers and Holograms was so informative and passionate when talking with us in his museum. He did an awesome job explaining things to us in both ultra-technical terms but also in everyday terms in order to help us relate to this awesome, wild collection!
Maggie M — Google review
The best museum I have visited in a while, running by very enthusiastic passionate inspiring knowledgeable person. The museum itself is tiny but packed with knowledge and history about laser and holographic technology from early 20th century. On top of that, the person, running this museum, is very knowledgeable and informative about all pieces he collected, and in the back he has his own lab working on the laser/holographic stuff. It is a hidden gem in the town! Highly recommend to visit!
