Nestled within the vibrant Arizona Mills in Tempe, SEA LIFE Arizona Aquarium is a captivating 26,000-square-foot interactive experience that invites families to dive into the wonders of marine life. This aquarium showcases an impressive array of aquatic creatures across diverse habitats, making it a perfect destination for all ages. Visitors can marvel at the breathtaking 360-degree ocean tunnel where majestic sharks, graceful rays, and playful turtles swim overhead.
A small, but effective aquarium. All of the displays were in great shape. I definitely recommend buying combo tickets with LegoLand across the hall. It's worth every penny and your kids will spend literally all day between the 2. The stingray pool was awesome. The giant tunnel at the end it legit. Super immersive with a lot of viewing domes for the kids to help them feel like they're in the water with the fish. Sharks, sea turtles, axolotls, seahorses, lots of cool stuff to see.

Great kid-friendly aquarium at Arizona Mills Mall! The price is just right for the size of the Aquarium. It is fun to see the variety of aqua life in an easy-to-follow floor plan. It was fun to see the turtles and tank with stingrays. I loved the bubble like viewing areas for little kids. The tour ends with a small but nice gift shop.
Vanessa M — Google review
SEA LIFE Aquarium is such a fun and beautiful experience! The tunnel tank with sharks and rays is breathtaking, and the touch tanks and interactive displays make it hands-on for all ages. Everywhere you turn there are great photo opportunities — from seahorses to schooling fish. The exhibits are well kept, staff are friendly, and the whole place is easy to enjoy at your own pace. A perfect mix of education, visuals, and interactive fun!

We’ve always enjoyed our visits to SEA LIFE Arizona! The aquarium is beautifully done, and my daughter especially loves the scavenger hunt and all the fun little viewing areas and photo spots throughout. It’s a great family activity, and the exhibits are engaging and well cared for. That said, the prices do feel a bit high for the length of the visit. We’ve gone three or four times over the past couple of years, and while it’s always a good experience, the cost may keep us from visiting as often in the future.
Savanah E — Google review
My daughter and I came as she in in college here and We had fun. It was a good time. Blew me away it was in a mall like experience but I would absolutely go again. Good time.

Amazing experience, especially for a first-time aquarium for my partner. We bought the behind the scenes tickets in advance and Aj was a wonderful guide, and he was an absolute delight to talk to Massive reccomendation for adults and kids alike to visit this place! Especially if you're from out of town, on a budget, and on a time crunch! It's worth it, and should I visit Arizona again I might have to take a peek at their other exhibits!
Raymond P — Google review
Visiting the Sea Life aquarium with my family was an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by vibrant displays of marine life that captivated both the kids and adults. The variety of sea creatures was impressive, with everything from colorful tropical fish to majestic sharks swimming overhead in the underwater tunnel. The interactive exhibits were a highlight for the kids, allowing them to touch starfish and learn about different species in a fun, engaging way. We also enjoyed the informative talks from the staff, who shared fascinating facts about the animals and their habitats. The atmosphere was lively, and it was wonderful to see everyone, including my family, so excited about the wonders of the ocean. Overall, the Sea Life aquarium made for a memorable family outing. It was both educational and entertaining, and we left with a greater appreciation for marine life. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out with family!

The Desert Botanical Garden, located in Phoenix, Arizona, has been a conservation hub for Sonoran Desert plants and other desert flora worldwide for over 70 years. The garden spans 140 acres and features more than 50,000 plant displays. Visitors can explore various trails such as the Plants and People of the Desert Trail, which offers insights into the lives and culture of indigenous people who have inhabited the area for thousands of years.
Especially in the hot month of July, if you’re thinking about visiting, just remember to take it easy when you’re outside. It’s a great spot for families any time of the year, but don’t forget to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated! The garden has tons of cacti, succulents, and other plants that might surprise you. The staff is super friendly and ready to help, and you’ll find signs along the paths to keep you on track. You’ll even get a map when you walk in! Even though it can get really hot, drinking plenty of water lets you enjoy everything the Desert Botanical Garden has to offer. You can wander through different trails and check out the beautiful desert plants. Each area has its vibe, and there are cool exhibits that teach you about the local environment and why it’s important to take care of it. During the summer, there are often fun events like guided tours and educational activities to help you learn more about the desert. Plus, visiting in the evening is nice because it cools down and the garden looks magical with all the lights. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop for some local art, books, or even a little plant to take home. There’s also a spot to grab some snacks and drinks. Overall, visiting the Desert Botanical Garden in July is doable if you plan ahead. With some water, sunblock and a relaxed attitude, it’s a fun day out for families, nature lovers, or anyone wanting to check out the desert’s beauty!

Absolutely beautiful. The Botanical Gardens were one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed every bit of our time there. From the amazing variety of cacti and plants, to the lovely butterfly exhibition, it was all well done. We could have stayed all day and not gotten bored.

This is one of our favorite "happy places"! Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, unique and fun events, educational support for our own plants, and so many more things are what keep us coming back. It has something for everyone. Some of our favorite things so far have been getting married here, enjoying the yearly Boo-tanical Garden with the kids, having regular date days/nights here, and attending their plant sales. The restaurant and cafe are delicious, and the gift shop always has something worth taking home. We absolutely love the Desert Botanical Garden and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night, family time, or even just some "me time".
Dakota B — Google review
I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! The Desert Botanical Garden is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. Every trail and exhibit is thoughtfully designed, and you can really see the care that goes into keeping everything in top shape. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable; they were happy to answer questions and share insights about the plants and desert landscape. It’s such a peaceful and inspiring place to explore, whether you’re a local or just visiting. There’s also a restaurant on site that feels like fine dining without being stuffy. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, and they cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Phoenix.
Courtney G — Google review
Must experience. Absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate to arrive after the monsoonal rains. Everything was green and blooming. We arrived a little before sunset, so we're able to see the gardens during the day, at sunset with a beautiful Arizona sky, and the gardens lit at night. The Botanical garden is open till 9:00 pm. If you have a layover at Phoenix Airport, the gardens aren't very far away. I would encourage anyone younger old to take time to visit.

The park is lovely. I went later in the afternoon at the end of October and it was still very warm. You can bring your own water bottle to fill at multiple filtered water stations - water comes out cold. Bring sunglasses, water bottle, sunblock and a hat. Gift shop is very nice.
Diana P — Google review
This garden is LIVING POETRY. It was one of the BEST Botanical Gardens I have ever visited. I had no idea cactus could form a desert forest. The design and layout helps you discover a lush, wonderous living landscape of flora and fauna that is ALIVE and far from barren. Additional points: excellent to have water stations through out the park to drink from and the art installations added an ethereal mix to the otherworldly, romantic atmosphere.
The T — Google review
Lots to see, beautifully kept gardens, plenty of water stations and the shop’s very nice - Only criticism was the portion sizes at the cafe (the food was very nice but not very substantial). Started to get a bit busier towards sunset (lots of couples having photo shoots). Have fun seeking out the naughtily shaped cacti

Outdoor Activities
The Phoenix Zoo covers 125 acres and offers a variety of animal exhibits, including a children's area and petting zoo. Visitors can also enjoy a narrated tram ride around the zoo. One of the most anticipated events at the Phoenix Zoo is Zoo Lights, where millions of lights are strung on trees and displayed as animal shapes along pathways.
Wonderful zoo! Not too large so that you can walk the whole zoo of you want to get the full view of you don't spend too much time at one exhibit. Lots of shade along the way, plenty of water fountains available. They have planned for the comfort of the visitors. My photos certainly don't show the extent and great variety of the place...monkeys, orangutan, dromedaries, beautiful birds, nice splash pad for kids, individual displays of the local desert inhabitants, so much more. Nice gift shop, plenty of parking.
Eugene E — Google review
The Phoenix Zoo is such a fun place to visit! Definitely bring good walking shoes — there’s plenty to see and explore. We went in December, and the weather was perfect, though we did need light jackets. We especially loved seeing the lion, and the ZooLights experience was an absolute blast. A great place for families or anyone who loves animals!
Savanah E — Google review
Had a great time at the Phoenix Zoo! The animals seem well taken care of. Enclosures are fairly large and well kept. There are animal ambassadors at most of the areas that are very informative and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all our questions and some were quite funny. They have the only open walk through attraction with squirrel monkeys in the United States, which is in my opinion a must see for any visitor to the zoo. Also you can feed giraffes, ride a camel or play in the water park. Their is something for everyone. Overall my experience was enjoyable and I recommend if your are in Phoenix to add a stop at the zoo!
Alicia C — Google review
Absolutely love visiting the Phoenix Zoo! Zoo staff are friendly and always willing to share knowledge on the different animals at the zoo. Really enjoy the Arizona Big Cats habitat and my all time favorite is the Orangutans. Our family visits them every time we go to the zoo...they're like family!

Beautiful zoo. Lots of remodeling and upgrades being done. Nice tram tour of park, only $6. Today was the Dia de los muertos event, was awesome.
A C — Google review
We had an absolutely phenomenal day at the Phoenix Zoo, and I can't recommend it enough as a perfect way for kids to spend a couple of hours walking around and getting up close with wildlife. Our visit today was exceptional because the animals were incredibly active! Sometimes you walk past exhibits and the animals are sleeping, but not today. We saw so much lively action: • Monkey Business: The monkeys were putting on quite a show, swinging and playing all over their habitat. It was non-stop entertainment! • A Spiky Surprise: one porcupine was wide awake and busy, which was a real treat to see. Hehe did a little of dance for us, and it will be a memorable porcupine dance experience for us to keep in our family. Beyond the great animal viewing, we loved that there were a couple of animal encounters happening, which added an extra layer of engagement for the little ones. We also took the carousel ride, camel ride and stingray feeding. It truly was an awesome day at the zoo. For families looking to make a whole outing of it, the Phoenix Zoo is great. We were smart and brought our lunch, which made the midday break easy and relaxing. And of course, on a warm day, the splash pad was the perfect grand finale to cool off and burn the last bit of energy before heading home. If you're looking for an engaging, manageable, and exciting outdoor activity for your kids, the Phoenix Zoo is a winner. Especially if you catch the animals on an active day like we did, it's a memorable experience!
Daisy F — Google review
By far one of the best zoos I have ever been to if you're ever in the Phoenix area I highly suggest going to visit here. It is the only zoo in North America that has a walk through monkey village which makes it so much better than any zoo that I have been to 🐒🐒🐒

Had a great time at the Phoenix Zoo! It’s a really nice place to walk around, and there’s a good mix of animals and interactive spots. Loved the tigers and Flamingo. It’s family-friendly, lots of shade, and easy to get around. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona, located inside Arizona Mills, is a vibrant amusement center designed for families with children aged 3 to 10. It offers an array of family-friendly exhibits, 4D movies, rides and a fascinating Lego factory tour. The center provides a world of creativity and building fun with themed build and play areas where kids can explore their imaginations using thousands of LEGO bricks.
FIRST TIME VISIT!! Riley at Check in started off our Lego adventure with a very warm welcome and was super sweet to our son! Delanie the master builder took the time to talk to us about their creating process and talk to my son about his interest in her builds and was very sweet and gave him a mini figure! At the end we visited the gift shop, and Mason Took incredibly good care of us and really made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. I can’t believe I just said that I had a good time spending a lot of money but sure enough here I am saying that every penny was worth it and then some we really cannot wait to come back!! THANK YOU! This might be our first time visiting but definitely won’t be our last!!
Liam — Google review
I recently visited LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Phoenix with my daughter, and honestly, I was disappointed. The only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is because the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our visit. They really tried to make it fun for the kids and were patient and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. This place is extremely overpriced for what you get. We paid over \$30 per person expecting a mini amusement park experience, but it felt more like a glorified indoor play area. There are only a couple of small rides, which were okay but not worth the price of admission. After 20 minutes, my kid was already bored — and we had seen and done just about everything. The activities are very limited. A small indoor playground, and a couple of LEGO build stations, there really wasn’t much else to do. It might be okay if tickets were under \$10 or part of a larger entertainment complex, but at full price, it just doesn’t offer enough. Save your money and try something else.
Golchehr N — Google review
A neat place to check out as a family, read more about the 4 stars f your kids love, it’s worth checking out. The inside is bright, colorful, and has something for everyone. The big Lego play structure is always a hit, and the race car station where kids can build and race their own cars is hands down the highlight. There’s also a nice little play area outside the entrance, plus a gift shop with member discounts (10% off), which is a nice perk. Parking is easy if you get close to the door, and once you walk in, LEGOLAND is right on the right-hand side. We also love that there’s a frozen yogurt place right next door with a few non-dairy flavors a fun little add-on treat. That said, there are a few downsides. Some of the attractions are really small, like the little indoor train game where you “zap” zombies (not my favorite). There’s also a mini ride and a mini movie theater, but the attractions sometimes lean a little on the scarier side for younger kids. The hours don’t make a lot of sense no evening hours during the week, which isn’t very helpful for families with school aged kids. Depending on the time of day, there aren’t always many staff around. And if you go during a field trip, it can get really busy, so it’s worth checking online before heading out. Overall though, we’re members, and our kids enjoy it every time we go. It could use more seasonal updates and interactive features, but for a small space, it’s a great place for Lego-loving kids. I’d give it 4 stars.
Vegan Y — Google review
Went to adult night at the Discovery Center and had a great time. There were build challenges, free play, games, prizes, and more. The employees were super friendly and available for assistance. There is a store attached if you are more interested in shopping for Lego or of you want to grab something afterward. There are bathrooms on site and a café where you can purchase water, coffee, soda, and get snacks.
Rebecca ( — Google review
I didn't realize this was inside the mall. The first couple rooms are really dark, kinda scared my almost 2 year old. The place is small but pretty spacious, fun and cute, had little activity centers for the kids. Has a little coffee and food shop, a really big and clean bathroom. Its a cute experience to do once.
TP S — Google review
I took my four year old son a few days ago. They were having a Halloween special event where you make your own Lego potion. There was only one person working at the table and we waited in line for quite a long time- no problem. When it’s our turn, my four year old who had a stammer (it’s like a stutter but he repeats whole words instead of syllables) was excited. He was being polite and started to talk to the lady. She interrupted him and repeated what he said in a mocking way. He started to say we-we-we want to… and she interrupted and said We-we-we. Extremely rude, mean spirited and hurtful. I was honestly shocked and didn’t say anything at first other than to tell her that he’s just excited and has a stammer. I was able to speak to a manager who said he would talk to the employee. But he didn’t really apologize or offer us a free ticket or anything at all. I didn’t ask for anything I was just very hurt that someone working around kids would be so mean. My kid loves this place so we will probably return, but I really hope that someone in management does something about the young lady who treated us this way. She shouldn’t be interacting with children until she changes her attitude.
Lindsay — Google review
This place was amazing fun for myself and my nearly 5 year old. I would recommend it for families with kids aged 4 to 9. They have a showroom that's interactive with buttons to liven the scenes, Lots of building stations, a playplace type playground, VR, 2 rides and a movie theater. They also sell Starbucks coffee and have a decent cafe. The only lacking section imo was the car building area with ramps that didn't have enough supplies. We spent 4 hours there and my kid still wasn't ready to leave, but it was closing time.
Sarah L — Google review
Awesome place and you get a discount if you show you went to the aquarium next door, the 4d movie was cool, but just seeing my grandson so happy was the best part, if he could write this review, he'd give it 2 thumbs up. And thats what its all about

Tempe Town Lake is a popular destination in Tempe, AZ, offering a blend of natural beauty and urban living. This two-mile long reservoir was created by damming a section of the Salt River and filling it with water from the Colorado River. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, and fishing around the lake's five-mile circumference.
Beautiful lake, calm and peaceful, great place to walk around or ride the electric bikes. Took a walk and enjoyed seeing people sail, boat or kayak. It was a weekend so we did not rent anything but saw there was a person sitting there as if you could rent a kayak or some sort of water activity. Great place to bike, walk, sight see, or enjoy water activity.

Whether you’re renting a scooter, biking, rollerblading, skating, running, or just taking a relaxing walk, there’s something for everyone. You can even rent a boat or a quirky little duck pontoon and spend the whole day out on the water. We always have a blast here and love that it feels clean, safe, and family-friendly. Tempe Town Lake is very safe for walkers and runners alike. Please be mindful of the bikers in the area, because there are plenty. The lake is spread out, so you can get your steps/miles in easily. It’s even safe in the evenings, but use proper discretion when alone. There’s also plenty of restaurants and shopping only .25 miles away. Lots of business and lodging.

Tempe town lake is ok, they have rental paddle boats and you can also bring your own board. Swimming is not allowed. Seen a lot of people fishing but didn't see anyone catch anything. On the weekends the atmosphere changes and a lot of people, families, children etc walk around the park and enjoy the views by the water. Be aware that some shady business may be going on.

We went this evening for a doughnut boat ride and had a good time. It was hot but then it got a little cooler the sun went down some and we enjoyed the sunset. It was beautiful! The boat was quite slow but very pleasant. The cost was $140 for an hour. $160 after tax. It fits 10 people. We brought snacks and drinks but no alcohol is allowed.

This is such a fun place to go. Especially during the pandemic. Being stuck in our homes for so long it's a nice place to go and get some excersie. Today was a perfect day to go walking. There were a ton of people riding bikes. Lots of families there with canopy's and having picnics. I love that you are able to rent scooters, the family peddle carts. Fair prices for paddle boats, all different kinds. I can't wait to go back and do more stuff there. Also there is A mountain that people hikes on in the same area. Lots of things to keep someone or a family busy.

Family Fun Day Done Right First Impressions We headed to Main Event for some classic family fun; bowling, bites, and a break from the Arizona heat. Between their Kids Bowl Free passes and Kids Eat Free Tuesdays, it was already a win before we even laced up our shoes. Atmosphere & Vibe Energetic, a little loud (in the best way), and totally geared toward keeping kids and adults entertained under one roof. It’s the kind of place where the energy bounces off the neon lights and you leave feeling like you actually did something fun. What I Tried We ordered a mix of chicken tenders, BBQ chicken sandwich, wings, and fries, and everything hit the spot. But the surprise standout? Their fried pickles. Legitimately some of the best we’ve had. Crispy, tangy, and perfectly seasoned. Pro tip: don’t skip ’em. Service & Experience Even though it was packed, we had fantastic service, especially from Roy at the bar. There’s usually a server for the bowling lanes, but that server let us know things were backed up and encouraged us to order directly with Roy at the bar. He was hustling, juggling a slammed bar, and still made time to get our food and drinks out quickly, with a great attitude. Total MVP. Pro Tips or Heads-Up • Take full advantage of their promotions, they add real value (in this economy?!). • Go early on busy days if you want a less crowded experience. • Bring a little extra for arcade play. It’s hard to walk past the games without getting pulled in. Final Verdict Main Event is a go-to for affordable family fun with solid food, awesome service, and just the right level of chaos. Great way to stay cool and entertained in an AZ summer without breaking the bank. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for Roy! ⸻ #MainEventAZ #FamilyFunNight #FriedPickleFanClub

I recently visited Main Event in Tempe, and I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was electric and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a night out with friends or family. The space is well-designed, with a great mix of activities that cater to everyone, from bowling and arcade games to laser tag. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. They were quick to assist, whether we had questions or needed help with our games. The bartenders were also top-notch, crafting delicious drinks with a smile and making us feel welcome.

My boys and I love to come here to bowl and grab some lunch. We ate their double burger and pepperoni pizza while bowling. It was a great time! Will definitely do it again. Pricing was great and my boys had a great time.

I went to Main Event for a work event and had a blast! They’ve got everything from bowling and Lazer Tag to arcade games, obstacle courses, pool tables, and darts, plus a good selection of apps and drinks. It’s more geared toward a younger crowd, but it’s still super fun for everyone I’m already itching to go back for more Lazer Tag!

We had my daughter's 10th Birthday party here. The staff was really good with communication, and the service was great. They were very friendly and helpful. The kids really had a great time. Thank you!

Great experience the only thing that I disliked was if you get a certain time that’s all you get so if you don’t finish the game by the end of that time, they ended it and you’ll have to go back to ask them to add more time to finish the gameThe atmosphere was great. The staff was great. That’s the only default that I had an issue with.

Their performances run from September through May at the Herberger Theater Center and extend into schools across Arizona, making it accessible for all.
My daughter really enjoyed her summer class here. In one week they talked them through creating a character, preparing a script, and performing a small sketch! She had a blast and though I was sick and couldn't see the final result, I was greatly impressed.
Susan F — Google review
My 4 year old loves the theater program. It has really brought her out of her shell a bit and she seems to have a lot of fun there despite usually disliking drop off programs or being left without us. The little performances are really fun to see and she seems to be learning a lot about basics of creating a character, hitting a cue, and performing in front of a group. We will definitely keep bringing her back.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Solid performers with gorgeous voices. Better than Broadway! I loved the the costumes and set. I was so impressed with Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. The true critic--my squirrely 4-year old--was entranced for the entire show.

Excellent place for a relaxation. Right from shopping to experiences, restaurants shows and simply walking strolling around. It offers a great sprawling and apple ground for window shopping. Hiking area
A Mountain, also known as Hayden Butte Preserve, is a popular hiking spot located at Arizona State University. The highlight of the butte is the 60-foot concrete letter 'A' that pays tribute to ASU. Hiking up the mountain offers stunning views of Tempe and Town Lake, making it an ideal spot for watching the sunset. The trail is relatively short but steep, providing a good workout for hikers.
Quite a good hike for beginners. The climb is steep but the distance is quite less. Pretty easy climb if you can avoid the heat. You get a beautiful view from up top of the Tempe City. There are plenty of parking spots nearby. However, my suggestion would be to take the metro near Mill Ave and start the climb from there.
Bimal S — Google review
Best Sunset in Tempe. Walking distance to the light rail. The hike is easy you will see lots of kids. Bring your dog 🐕. Bring your out of town guests. Nice family experience.
Jussane C — Google review
Christmas Day hike up “A” Mountain. For as long as we’ve been in Phoenix, this has been on our “list” so when we were looking for a quick hike on Christmas we decided to give it a try. I was surprised to see no free parking even on Christmas, though there was plenty of room in the lot. There’s also street parking with meter pay on Mill. It’s not quite clear where the start of the trail is from this location but we just started heading up and quickly found it. It’s relatively short - but steep. Quite the incline. The views along the way are worth the climb. The very peak is blocked with a gate but most visitors ignored it in order to reach the summit, obviously at your own risk. It is a long way down. All in all, a fun quick hike with an amazing view of the valley.
Michael Q — Google review
Wonderful area to walk around in. You can get a lot of exercise in.
Jose J — Google review
A mountain is a great spot for a quick hike or just to get outdoors and see the city. Parking is close by, but some lots do require you to pay. You can also take the light rail as there is a stop nearby. The hike takes about 30 min up (granted I had 2 little kids with me). There are rails to assist you in steeper areas, but definitely wear tennis shoes, it is rocky and unsteady in a lot of spots. The view from the top is amazing. You can see 360 views of the valley, including Tempe, ASU, the airport, and more.
Liz S — Google review
Nice short hike, great for families. It’s steep but plenty of areas to relax. Most of the trail is paved but there are a lot of old stairs and rocky parts. It’s was really cool that is located in the middle of the city.
Ivy G — Google review
Great short hike to the top of A mountain at ASU. Used to run to the top in the 90s and the skyline has changed dramatically since then. Some of the steps are pretty steep however there is often a walk around for those. Some of the rocks towards the top are a bit slick depending on your shoes so be cautious for a tweaked ankle. Not a difficult or technical hike. I've seen people in Crocs and flip-flops and even 2 year olds (with assistance) at the top. Just don't do it in the middle of summer on the middle of the day because the sun is on it all the time and it gets wicked hot during those months. Winter is nice.
Michael F — Google review
A mountain is absolutely beautiful. I love hiking A mountain. It’s clean! I love the scenery. You literally can see, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, And more from the Top of the mountain. You get to meet a lot of people along the trail. It’s a great workout spot. It’s a great place to take photos. Most of all you can truly feel free on top of the mountain. Some days I go just to meditate! It’s so dope!

Papago Park, located about a 20-minute drive from downtown Phoenix between Scottsdale and Tempe, offers an expansive area for hiking and picnicking. The park is home to the Phoenix Zoo, Papago Golf Course, Desert Botanical Garden, and other museums and attractions.
A must-visit spot while you’re in town! I often travel solo for work and always look for places that are both fun and feel safe—this hike checks both boxes. It’s less than a mile, and once you park, it’s easy to find your way up by walking around the rock. If you’re into taking photos, I highly recommend going early in the morning—it’s peaceful and the lighting is perfect. I tried both morning and evening hikes, and while the evening had beautiful views, it was much busier with engagements, kids, and general crowds. Even if you don’t hike up, the base area is worth a visit—lush with palm trees and a serene pond, perfect for a relaxing walk.
Z B — Google review
My sister/best friend of 34 years set out on the journey today. It was definitely majestic even with all the chatter that was going. Word to the wise if you go for meditation be sure to find a spot away from folks. That was definitely the only downfall of the day.

It’s a clean park and a safe one as well. The sunset is my favorite, definitely have been here for 15+ times, and recommend this place to lots of people!

This is a beautiful, picturesque park with a lot of different amenities! The walking trails on the mountain are easy to do and breathtaking, but even the more common features are in excellent shape! We have utilized the archery range many times, and it’s a neat addition to the area. You won’t be disappointed if you visit!

This was magical, coming from Florida. Did a few of the small loop trails and climb to hole in the rock. First time coming out west can only imagine what larger parks would feel like.

Great place to hike! Huge variety of easy to moderate to difficult trails with some paved parts and ramadas and other more steep, mountainous parts. The rock formations are especially cool with lots of fun holes which can be entered and decent shade. It gives scenic views of the desert and cacti and on one of the trails was a pull-up bar and trail heads not only with trail markers but with interesting images and walking stick tricks on them. The desert wild-life including birds and snakes are also visible and existent.

The Hall of Flame Fire Museum is a captivating destination for anyone interested in the rich history of firefighting. Nestled on the west side of Papago Park, this multi-gallery museum features an impressive array of firefighting artifacts, including fire engines dating back to 1725 and extending through to 1969. Visitors can marvel at vintage fire hoses, helmets, and uniforms while exploring how firefighting has evolved over the centuries.
We had a fantastic time at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum! 🚒🔥 The museum is filled with beautifully restored fire trucks, fascinating exhibits, and a great history of firefighting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. My toddler especially enjoyed exploring and was excited to receive a book and a sticker, which was such a thoughtful touch! 📖✨ It’s a great place for families, history lovers, and anyone interested in firefighting. Highly recommend visiting! 😊👨‍🚒🚒

We we're able to buy discounted tickets from Groupon and boy were they worth it, so much so that I highly recommend taking your children, family, or friends. The museum doesn't look that big, however when you start your tour and notice that you have been there two hours you will understand what I'm sharing. We never knew that the Hall of Flame Museum even existed, almost every large city in America 🇺🇸 has one. They all share things in common such as lay down your life for others, the many sacrifices made by the men/women are incredible. And this history has been preserved for us, please learn about how American's are a loving nation. ❤️
Rigo A — Google review
This museum was great for both me and my toddler. He loved the firetrucks, and I was very moved by the displays honoring the sacrifices that have been made by firefighters. They have a firetruck that kids can climb on, and there's a great kids play area learning all about fire safety. They have a truck that was there on 9/11, and also one from our Arizona Hot Shots. The staff were so friendly and sweet to my kid. Give this place some love, they're totally worth it.

We had a good time at the museum. Great place for kids if they are interested in fire trucks. The displays are great visually and if you are interested in doing a little reading and paying attention you can learn a great deal about Fireman history. The staff is knowledgeable and I think we would have spent more than two hours there if we weren’t already tired from touring museums all day.

Absolutely wonderful place. Greeted and given an overview by a member of staff, then wandered the halls taking it all in. So much fascinating history, emotional stories, tributes to those who work in the service, and so many beautiful trucks. Even a kids play area! Spent a good hour wandering around taking everything in. Fantastic.

I wasn't sure that I would enjoy the Hall of Flame museum. I knew I'd have a good time because I was with several friends. We got there and Bob, who works on various Fridays, took it upon himself, after we entered and looked around to take us on a personal tour. I think we got halfway through the first room of the multi-room tour, and realized that two and a half hours had past. Bob was extremely well-educated regarding the history of firefighting and he gave us a delightful tour. I bought an annual pass so that myself and group members can come back for more tour stories and interesting history from Bob on future Friday's when he is there. I'm sure the other volunteers and employees are also excellent tour guides. We were incredibly impressed with the history of firefighting and the fire engines/ machines. Bob and the other men there were very cordial and knowledgeable. I would very highly recommend this to anybody who wants a unique experience and a walk through the past!!

The mall is HUGE and they have not just the mall stuff you find everywhere, but cool experience and adventure spots for the kids. There's some crazy bubble experience spot, a carousel in the food court, LegoLand, SeaLife Aquarium, and Rainforest Cafe among others. Definitely worth a walk through. However, we were there during a crazy rainstorm and it turns out half the skylights in the food court literally leak water like they were open to the sky. I mean they had to shut half the court down and turn off the carousel due to flooding. But rain in the desert is rare. So check it out on a hot day.

The shopping experience at this place is quite remarkable. The crowd is sizable, and there is a wide variety of both products and stores. The discounts offered are substantial, making it an attractive destination for shoppers. The quality of the merchandise falls within the average range, making it a good choice for purchasing everyday clothing items. The food options are diverse, with numerous storefronts to choose from. Interestingly, there's even a pet store selling dogs. Moreover, the establishment boasts additional attractions, such as a gaming arcade, a movie theater, and a Lego center, making it a comprehensive destination for entertainment and leisure. The inclusion of a small-scale aquarium and a Lego center adds a unique touch to the overall experience, making it a well-rounded destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

This mall has changed quite a bit since we were here last, year several years ago. This is bound to happen over time of course, however there were no longer any stores I was interested in going to. It wasn't busy which was nice, probably because it was not a weekend. They had recently renovated the food court by the look of it, which was very well done. Personally I think it's time to renovate the restrooms, they were in pretty rough shape unfortunately. Anyway, it was a hot day so we took advantage of being in air conditioned comfort to walk around the mall a few times, because it's in a large loop. So it was great for getting our steps in! Young children would probably like this mall as well because there is a large Legoland and some nice Lego displays.

Whether you're a student or a visitor, ASU Tempe Campus offers a vibrant atmosphere with access to nearby amenities and attractions.
Everyone that I asked or didn’t ask about ASU all exclaimed that this campus was the most beautiful. They were absolutely right! After many college visits the key highlights of ASU is its it own city. You literally don’t have to leave. It’s modernized in every way. It doesn’t boast in historical components more than its future imprint. Lastly, it’s resourcefulness. We didn’t join an official tour but everyone we spoke to from students to staff readily assisted us. It was a one of kind university experience.

We seen our athletic representative Zack, who always gets things done for us. A small but enjoyable and free museum for all ages. We went to see the signs exhibit, and it was pretty cool seeing signs that used to hang all around Tempe, including some historic. Other exhibits included a timeline with artifacts over the decades of Tempe, historic vehicles, and also historic photos and concept art. There was even a section dedicated to Tempe’s appearances in movies.

this place it was built in the 80s I think this may have been the second or third or so wave pool ever there is a cool waterslide too and it's indoors i had a birthday party for my daughter there 15 years ago. there are also gyms and racquetball and nice tennis courts and even pickleball heck , if you want there's even batting cages.

Had a kid party indoor here. VERY worth .every penny! You are assigned an employee to assist and mine rocked. It was easy set up easy tare down. The wave pool was awesome, of course. There was only one thing I wished, maybe have a bucket or sink to dump drinks into? Also, we split some soda and I could not clean it properly.. I let my helper know later

8.5/10. This is a wonderful idea, and I wish more people had pools like this one.. But there were just a few small things... The lockers take quarters to lock up your stuff. Heads up. We didn't know this... but you can leave your stuff on the pool deck and hope no one has sticky fingers. (We left ours on the deck because we came with only our card and no cash) Also, the slide shuts down when the wave pool is going, which is understandable-ish. But the kids all have to leave back down the stairs, and then they have to wait in line all over again, hoping that they will get a chance before they close for the waves again. There is a similar water park a little west of the city, and they have enough lifeguards to cover the wave pool and slide.. Maybe they should look into that? Just like 2 that are slide duty. Loved that you could purchase snacks at the time of. But NOT NEEDED! There were better things if you just wait for the snack shop... love that there is a snack shop. Decent one, too. But aside from that. This was a great place to escape the heat. We drove from Tucson for the indoor pool. Overall, it's worth it.

My Granddaughter & I needed a place indoors to practice basketball, so we found Kiwanis Rec Center online. The entry fee was reasonable, but the time that we went, afternoon, was pretty crowded. We did eventually get to practice on a shared court. I suggest that you go early if you want a court to yourself, which is what we did the next time visited. Early morning the best! Call ahead, though!!

We love the Wave Pool. It's easy to get everyone tired enough to go to bed early. It costs $5 per adult and $4 for 12 and under or if you just want to watch. The tubes are extra, but not necessary to have fun.

Tempe Beach Park is a 25-acre recreational area located on the south shore of Tempe Town Lake. It offers various activities such as boating, cycling, and picnicking. The park features an amphitheater that hosts concerts and shows, including Independence Day celebrations. Additionally, it has a splash playground for children and is a popular venue for cultural celebrations and music festivals throughout the year.
Came here on a weekday evening. It was very spacious and really enjoyed the LED color bridge over the river. There are a lot of electrical scooters for rent to ride around the sidewalk along the riverfront. Did not visit during the day but I can imagine there are more water/boat related activities available.

The perfect place for adults, kids and pets. Whether you want a workout or just a romantic walk by the lake this is the place to go to. They offer day activities as well as beautiful views at night. In this AZ heat take advantage of the late hours. Open until midnight.

Lived here for about 13 years & never have gone down to the Tempe Town Lake to take advantage of all the wonderful rentals. However, today I did. Sooo much fun. Rented Paddle boat for an hour, but didn't use all the time. The AZ sun can be brutal even when temps aren't 3 digit. The Lake has long hours so perhaps a sunset ride would be a little better. Either way, Tempe Town Lake is a nice little jewel in the desert.

Liz M — Google review
I recently made a few furniture purchases from Ikea and, overall, I’d give the experience 4 out of 5 stars. While Ikea isn’t the cheapest option out there, I’ve found the quality of their furniture to be quite good, making it worth the price in many cases. The range of styles and options they offer is impressive, and most pieces feel sturdy and well-designed once assembled. One thing I particularly appreciate is their return policy. It’s flexible and hassle-free, giving me peace of mind when I’m making larger purchases. Whether it’s because of damage or simply changing my mind, the process of returning or exchanging items has always been smooth, which is a huge plus. The condition of the store itself is another highlight. Every time I visit, it’s clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Even with the large crowds that Ikea tends to attract, the store still feels well-maintained, which makes the shopping experience more enjoyable. That being said, the biggest drawback for me is finding staff when I need assistance. Ikea has a lot of self-serve elements, and sometimes it feels like it takes a while to locate an employee for help. But on the occasions I’ve found someone, they’ve always been polite and willing to assist, so the service, when available, is good. All in all, despite the occasional challenges with finding help and the higher price tag on some items, I’d still highly recommend Ikea for anyone looking for quality furniture and a reliable return policy.

“It’s giving interior inspo heaven 🛋️✨ — a giant maze of dreamy rooms, cozy corners, and ‘I need this’ moments. IKEA really said: come for the meatballs, leave with a new personality and 17 throw pillows.”

Came here looking for a decent floor lamp and a coat rack for the living room. We managed to find a floor lamp at a very good price, but the section where they have them all displayed was a disorganized mess. We'd see a price tag for a lamp but no floor model to actually get an idea of what it looks like. Sometimes we'd find a lamp without any sort of pricing info. Quite frustrating. The coat rack we liked was unfortunately out of stock, but that's not a big deal. The staff was very helpful when we were looking for it and asked if it was completely out of stock at their location. What we did come away with was a computer chair that was on sale at a really good price (one hundred bucks), which made us very happy as I needed a new one. Very comfy floor model made it an easy decision. We also picked up the usual odds and ends as one tends to do while circling an IKEA (big set of Tupperware, a brush for dishes and a couple multi tap extensions for electronics).
Nate U — Google review
My first trip to IKEA—what an incredible place! You could easily spend hours wandering through, getting inspired, and still feel like you haven’t seen it all. We managed to check things off our list: a new nightstand, a cozy chair, food storage jars, a rug, and some hangers. Thanks IKEA, we will be back!
Tommy A — Google review
What can I say about IKEA that folks don’t already know. It’s more of an experience than a place to shop for home goods. One can easily spend an hour or more there; especially if you eat in the cafe. And then there is the snack bar in case you need some energy on the way in or out. Many may think that IKEA is just a place for “cheap” furniture. It’s true that they have many inexpensive home goods, but there is something there for everyone, whether you are a college student looking to get something for the dorm, or you are a home owner looking to upgrade your kitchen or bath. We occasionally go just to wander and see if there is something to fit a need. When we needed cabinets for our utility room and garage, we found just what we needed, including helpful folks who made sure we got all the parts we needed. We were able to install the cabinets ourselves at a fraction of the price we could have paid at Home Depot plus installation. We have several things that we have bought from IKEA, including Poangs, a TV stand, Hemnes book shelves and shoe racks. Our grown children even have IKEA beds and desks in their homes and apartments. We are looking at replacing an old dresser with a Pax wardrobe made to our liking. Plan a visit some morning or afternoon and just wander the maze. Be sure to pick up some cinnamon rolls on the way out!
Brent D — Google review
They have so much to see here and a great selection. It’s even a good place to go just to walk around during the summer. I like that they have food and drinks too.
Jeremy M — Google review
Unfortunately IKEA is just not a good store for disabled shoppers if they need to go inside. They no longer provide electric shopping carts and the store is just too huge to be able to navigate inside quickly. I knew exactly what I wanted to look at in person. The maps they give no longer show the location layout and shortcuts. What they do show merely gives you the numbered sequence of the store, not the specific location of each department. It is great to order online and do the curbside pick up, but when you want to see a marketplace item before you purchase it, it is incredibly difficult to navigate if you do not have the endurance to make it through the whole store. Additionally, there are absolutely no places to sit and take a break throughout the process. A few benches or chairs to rest would be appreciated. The only place you can sit to rest or even use the restroom are by the front doors of the store, unless you visit the restaurant (again at the front of the store). The check out lanes were very long and then there were problems during the actual check out. It was a long time to stand. I purchased 3 items of the 6 I went in for because I never could find the other 3. In total it took 52 minutes from the time I left my car, until the time I returned to my car. I just can’t stand and walk for that long without taking breaks. Electric cart would have been tremendously helpful. It feels like IKEA doesn’t care about disabled customers. Bummer, I used to love to browse and shop at IKEA… now I just won’t be able to.

I'VE NEVER BEEN SOMEWHERE THAT HAS DENIED A SMALL CHILD ACCESS TO A BATHROOM!!! We just arrived at Tilt Studios and my 7 year old wanted to use the bathroom before we started playing games. There's a sign saying you need to ask a team member to unlock the door. We asked Estanban, who said we need to buy a card first before he can use the bathroom. Shawn, the manager, also wouldn't let a CHILD go to the bathroom. I'VE NEVER BEEN SOMEWHERE THAT HAS DENIED A SMALL CHILD ACCESS TO A BATHROOM!!! We won't be returning.

Just went here with the family today. Never been disappointed with an arcade like today. It felt like a total scam. Put $30 on a card and never even hit payout on any claw machine. My daughter was super upset. The claw games were clearly set to be rigged. Some even don't close at all! I'll definitely avoid this arcade the next time we are at Mills.

My old review had 2 stars for neglected arcades. I'm happy to report they've put in the work, replacing missing buttons and dead inputs. Nice selection of classics. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a great addition. For hoops fans, the basketballs have been replaced since many were ripped and deflated before. Thanks for taking customer feedback and improving!

I think management or ownership sucks here, every time we go games are broken with no signs. Very inconvenient to ask already skeleton staff for assistance. Arianna, Esteban, and Ayassa (bar) are exceptional but the other stuff will keep us from returning! Get it together. Put a sign on the terminator game fix or remove, or whatever games are broken, this place could be so much better!

Great place and great staff. The tall girl who was closing tonight (06/25/25) was a godsend! We lost our keys and went back after closing and she was nice enough to come to the door and help us. She then proceeded to look EVERYWHERE for them and did it all with a smile on her face, even though it was 30 minutes past closing. When she couldn't find them, she came back outside and asked us if there was any other place they could be, then looked again and found them! All around great customer service and she really went above and beyond.

All the claw machines and a lot of the games are rigged so you cannot win. Use to be a great place to take the family spend some money and have a good time. Also lots of broken games that take your points and don’t work. Saw 0 staff so cannot share on that.

Awesome and one of the best video arcades in Tempe I've seen so far. They have two huge floors of fun galore; love the ambience. They have machines I haven't seen elsewhere like this towering nearly 2-story tall plushy game. Lots of fun plushy prizes too. They also have interactive games too like Jurassic Park, etc. On the second floor, they have traditional pinball games too and more. The assortment is astounding. There's also tables to sit on and rest. On the second floor, they have food as well. Accessible entrance and accessible parking mall-front.

Located at Chandler Fashion Center, the Crayola Experience in Chandler is a vibrant and interactive family attraction. Boasting 19 hands-on activities, this colorful destination offers an array of experiences that bring Crayola crayons to life. Visitors can create their own custom crayon, witness their art come alive with digital scanning and projection screens, and explore various attractions like Texture CRAYze, Melt and Mold, Drip Art, Stomp and Play area, and Activity Studio.
I highly recommend this place! My two year old had a blast and so did the adults! We got free tickets from an event each ticket came with two tokens. Most everything is free and highly interactive. Tokens are only 25 cents each. I saw that there's a birthday room and we're thinking about coming back for my daughters birthday next year even though it's an hour drive from us!

It was fun. Plenty of different activity stations to enjoy. Once you pay to get in you don't have to use money for any of the activities unless you want to buy tokens for the crayon making station or modeling clay. Get there early so that you have enough time to spend at each coloring station. We got there 2 hrs before closing so we had to rush. Be prepared to spend money in the gift shop. They have some great stuff. Next time we will get there at opening!

Awesome experience! My kids loved it. We went on a Friday morning, We were just passing through Chandler/Phoenix, but decided to spend a few hours here! It's sad to hear that this location is closing in June. I recommend going before they close, or going to one of their other locations after! We did their melted crayon art, create a shape (Race cars, emojis, and rings!), put a name on a crayon, have their AI draw a picture, meet a crayon, and many other fun items. Many of these things we did multiple times too, the kids were having a blast!
Paul H — Google review
I took my three-year-old son here and we had a blast! We did all kinds of fun stuff, like turning his picture into a coloring page, making custom crayons, playing with the water wall, and grabbing a slushie. It’s a bit pricey, but if you go in the last two hours, you can get in for half price.
Gary M — Google review
My family and I had a great time at the Crayola store and at the ticketed Crayola experience. Everyone had a good time personalizing their crayon as well as partaking in all of the interactive exhibits, such as melting wax into ring molds for accessories we can wear. I would like to especially commend Bree, who worked the register at the gift store, for her help in helping me select a gift for my niece that couldn't join this trip. Because I am an out of towner, Bree went above and beyond in helping me search the store's inventory for a bracelet with a specific name as well as assemble a box of keepsake Crayons as a gift. I would definitely come back again and recommend this experience to anyone with a 10 year old or younger.

The Crayola Store in Chandler, AZ is closed since June 15 2025. I am so sorry to hear that. We had so much fun. Thank you for the lifetime memories. Our 2yo twin girls loved our time at Crayola. We got some coins at the entrance and made our own crayon labels for 50 cents. We picked out modeling clay for 50 cents and made a snowman. You can color white Model Magic with markers, so you don't have to buy each color. There are great christmas crafts until the seventh of January. You can write a letter to Santa and put it in the mail carrier for Santa's mail or color a page and do lots of other crafts, like ornaments or pop up cards. You can pose, choose a background and print your own coloring pages. We had a great time and it was so much fun playing with the giant Brite-Lite board. There was an interactive projection, too. They also have some arcade games and a sifting station that costs extra. They have a big sand table with projections. And there was a mining station. You can do the scavenger hunt and win 4 crayons. We were there for 2 hours, got a stamp and went back after lunch. The fact is that you can also paint or do crafts at home, but there were also lots of things that you can't do at home. For us it was worth every penny, we had so much fun and a great time with our family 😊.

The menu features classics like the Big One and the Tijuana Torpedo, as well as barbeque chicken sandwiches.
I thought this was a dive bar! Turns out it's a burger joint for over 50 years. It's a must try place! I would recommend lunch and don't walk away if you open the door and the line is 20 people deep, they are fast! Food is good and the engery is great! Go check out and iconic place right here in Tempe AZ. Let me know what you think?

I’m glad I came to check this place out. This place has a pretty cool old vibe. Their hamburgers are pretty good. They have a “toppings bar” that you get your hamburger and then you go over there to pick whatever toppings you want. That’s kind of cool. I like the concept of this restaurant. All of the employees that I encountered are what I look for when going to a restaurant. This place is right by the campus of Arizona State University, so there is a lot of college student traffic. But, that doesn’t take away from this place. I definitely recommend this place.

I’m a burger snob, and I’m almost always disappointment by places that claim to have a great burger. But there was no disappointment here. I was skeptical because the inside feels a bit like a dive, but I think it gives the spot its particular feel. I ordered the basic burger and you get to dress the burger up yourself. I don’t go heavy with ingredients to not overwhelm the burger and bun taste or ratio. I’m telling you, it was perfection. The bun doesn’t fall apart like most places and was the right amount of soft but firm and fresh. The burger was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Can’t wait to come back.

We just happen to find the Chuckbox online. It looked 😎 so we went. The place is GREAT, we loved it. It’s FUN! You stand in line to order which was cool. The guys behind us must have been regulars and they helped us order. They just call you in line and ask what you want. Best order system ever! The gent taking the order just yells to the cook beside him. No paper just a good memory. We each had a burger and shared onion rings. You add your own condiments (see picture). Also awesome. I guess I must I must have order a unique burger so they just added extra stuff. Just fine with me. All the staff were really nice and when they found out travelled 3000 kms they said that was great. Parking - the parking is ok and free! I suggest being there between 1:15 and 3:00 PM. It may not be as busy? We were there at 1:15 on a Thursday and the lunch crowd was just clearing out. We did get a parking spot. Also there was a parking attendant. Food - burgers were top notch and the onion rings, I would go for just the onion rings! My better half thought her burger was a bit over cooked. The decor is rustic. I really like this type of place because it feels homey. The place is very clean and unlike some places they actually come around and clean the tables. One of the fun things is you get to see the cook being the master of the grill. There is also some outside seating. All in all we really liked the place. VERY IMPORTANT: CASH ONLY no EXCEPTIONS. ATM on site.

The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, also known as SMoCA, is a multi-gallery museum featuring rotating modern art and architecture displays along with a sculpture garden. The museum showcases surprising and thought-provoking exhibitions that challenge and dazzle visitors. It features installations such as 'The Air Around,' which explores the impact of poor air quality on the human body, and 'Language in Times of Miscommunication,' highlighting cracks in modern human interaction.
This was such a nice little contemporary arts museum! I know many people were saying how they thought this was really small, but I personally think it’s perfect that it is. Sometimes when you don’t want to spend hours in a museum, at least there’s this option and if you really enjoy art and love reading about each one, that alone takes time and adds more to the museum. The contemporary arts exhibits were sooo good! I really enjoyed seeing this one installation with lights and a symphony of music playing in waves with them, and that the current exhibits had some southwestern feel to it. They change it up every few months or so, of course. Workers were extremely nice and loved explaining some artwork in depth, if you want it. There’s also a little gift shop. Thursdays is a good day to come if you want to do the “Pay as you wish”.

It's a small venue with 4 or 5 exhibits going at the same time. Walked through will take about an 1 hr depending on how much time you spend at each peice. It is a nice indoor retreat from the summer heat. I suggest checking for their free times or if you are part of your local library. See if you can snag a culture pass for free entrance for the adults.

This review highlights one of workers who made visiting this museum more memorable. He is an older Hispanic gentleman, who speaks English and Spanish, by the name of Lou (I didn't get his name initially but the front desk was able to provide it to me). Lou was fantastic! He took the time to explain some of the art pieces to me and my mom. He also showed me how to view some of the art pieces from different angle to display something I wouldn't have notice on my own. However, my favorite exhibit was Infinite. I had no idea each sphere has a speaker and played by a string quartet. It plays for about 16 minutes, so watching the spheres illuminate and listening to the music during that time was magical. I told Lou how I enjoyed this museum more than the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego but he was part of the reason why I enjoyed it. Thank you, Lou for making this museum more wonderful 😊 Will definitely be making another visit.

Honestly my favourite museum to go to. The staff are so chill and welcoming. The fees are nonexistent, which is great if you’re a broke college student. The exhibits are always really creative in nature and at times interactive. Recently I may or may not have been trapped in the room full of lights (Life on Mars exhibit) for hours on end. Just staring at the shifting patterns and lights. Truly mesmerising. 10/10 would get hypnotised for free again. Honestly wish I had the money to donate to this place 😭

I had a wonderful time visiting the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. On the day that I went to visit with my family, they had limited exhibitions open because they were in the process of finalizing their full set of exhibits for the season. But the ones we were able to experience were extraordinarily and memorable. The “Squid Soup Infinite” room was fantastic and makes you want to stay there for hours. This is certainly a must visit for those visiting Arizona!

When we visited, two halls were being reinstalled, so we only saw a reduced exhibit. That was good enough, though the outdoor one was disappointing: it is to be seen during sunset or sunrise, not an obvious time to visit a museum.

Really cool! A short visit is all you need if you're pressed for time.. if you have time I could definitely have spent hours in the Squid space

Located on a modern college campus, ASU Art Museum houses a diverse collection of contemporary ceramics, new media, prints, and crafts. Embracing the university's spirit, the museum serves as an experimental space for artistic engagement. Its projects like Global Arizona and Social Studies aim to deepen the connection between art and society while InterLab showcases interdisciplinary work by students and faculty. With initiatives like Moving Targets focusing on new media art, ASU Art Museum is committed to being a museum of the future.
This is a wonderful museum to visit if you're in the area. Free admission and parking (just note your license plate). Despite being a smaller museum overall, there are some really fantastic rotating exhibits here. There's also a small kid's/art area behind the front desk when you walk in. The staff is friendly and makes themselves available without feeling like they're following you around.

The ASU Art Museum is free to the public and open Wednesday thru Sunday. Parking is complimentary right in front of the museum at the Southeast corner of Mill and 10th St. The building itself is just as intriguing and unique as the art. Check in at the front desk for a paper guide, snacks, and a few souvenirs. Check out their website to see which exhibits are currently up and any special events. The museum has a cool moody vibe, and the different exhibits were interesting. The U-shape of the building makes it an easy wall to not miss anything. We turned it into a date day by walking the museum, then checking out campus shops, and finishing with a cocktail in a rooftop bar overlooking the city.

All the exhibitions are so unique and interesting We love our tour at the art museum, we visit all the rooms and all had great stuff I have my favorites, and best of all we had fun.

I hope this continues to be free, because everyone needs to see this museum! It is absolutely stunning with the content being very relevant to today's world

Defiently an amazing art gallery. Was suprised with some of the art they had from asia. Location was very quite and not overly crowded. Will be returning next time the update the exhibits. Was able to make it through in about an hour to an hour and half.

My wife and I had not been on a college campus for a number of years. Upon entering the ASU art museum it was saddening to see what was represented there! The brochure about the museum stated it was about social justice and in the five galleries we did not see any real art. We saw something that was very angry and a lot of open space. It was sad to see that such a beautiful building is wasted on so little content. Save yourself some time. Nothing redeeming for the hard or soul in this building.
Gary B — Google review
Small university museum. There are about 5 galleries in there. Free admission. The building is nice, with unique architecture. Showing more identity kind of exhibits - like Indian tribes, or Mexican heritage. The student staff is super nice. Great place to just chill and cozy up in the heat of Phoenix

Ice cream shop
Dessert shop
Sparky's Old Town Creamery is a charming sweet shop located in the touristy part of town, offering a variety of frozen treats including ice cream, sorbet, self-serve fro-yo, shakes, and Hawaiian shave ice. The shop prides itself on producing fresh small-batch ice cream in-house with flavors like Dont Toucha Coconuts and Caramel Pumpkin Porter.
Fantastic ice cream with a variety of flavors. They operate like a cold stone where you can choose your ice creams and add mix-ins to it. The first mix-in is included in the price. Their ice cream is good enough to have on its own! The staff was friendly and did a great job.
Steven W — Google review
Small shop in downtown Tempe. We usually do take out as the place is small. They have variety of ice creams and are usually good for the price. Sometimes you feel like the ice cream doesn't taste as great as the previous time. So if they maintain the consistency with the quality it would be a great.
Keerthana R — Google review
In the past, Sparky's was once a Cold Stone Creamery. Even though it's Sparky's now, the ice cream is still delicious. I have been there many times, and it is convenient as I work within walking distance of Sparky's. Whenever I am walking along Mill Avenue and am craving some ice cream, Sparky's is one of my main stops in the area. The ice cream is delicious. Some of my favorite flavors are Batter in Bed and Banana Cream Pie. However, I have had just about every flavor that they serve, and all of them are delicious in their own ways. I like the pleasant atmosphere. Nice and low-key place where you can relax and enjoy your ice cream. The general manager, Connor, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is always a pleasure to talk to whenever I have some time for a friendly conversation during my lunch break at work. Every time I stop by, he ensures I feel welcome and right at home. Another bonus is that they have a rewards program, which offers five dollars off once you accumulate enough points. I recommend it to anyone in the Downtown Tempe area who is looking for a delicious ice cream treat.
Erik G — Google review
The ice cream is great! The service friendly and the ambiance relaxed. If ever in the area, this is nestled downtown and is definitely a treat!!! Stop in for a sample, and leave with a cup or cone. Just fresh delicious ice cream given with a smile.
Tamica T — Google review
They have shaved ice not snow cones. So it will be ice chips not powder. Thier cherry is tart and not sweet in any way. Would not recommend.
J P — Google review
Great ice cream. Had me a delicious root beer float. Can't go wrong. I went with a big party so I got to sample many flavors and they were all real good. The mint especially is like no other mint ice cream I've ever had, it's genuinely like eating mint leaves, in a good way! I was impressed. Service was good and they were friendly. Good place.
Seth N — Google review
Emily and Kitty were amazing. We had delicious ice cream cones and a smoothie made to perfection. Super sweet!
Jordan S — Google review
I wouldn’t come back. Very dirty and neglected. The ice cream display glass and counter were covered with streaks of melted ice cream, as if they hadn’t been cleaned in days. It was disgusting. The floor and the outdoor tables were also filthy — everything looked unkempt. This place has been in decline lately, and now it’s beyond dignity. Too bad, because it used to be a nice old Tempe spot.

Snakes & Lattes Tempe is not your average coffee shop. It's a vibrant cafe that offers an extensive collection of over 1,000 board and card games for guests to enjoy while sipping on their favorite beverages. For just $5 per person, visitors can have unlimited access to the diverse range of games available, from classic titles to modern favorites. On weekends, knowledgeable game experts are on hand to provide guidance and recommendations for an optimal gaming experience tailored to each group.
I wanted to come here for the longest time, and I FINALLY made it!! I found out their brunch trivia morning on a Sunday and I committed to making it this time with my lovely friends!! The entire experience was lovely. The flow was smooth. There were no awkward moments and we were given plenty of time to order our food and beverages (via a QR code) eat, and chitchat with each other in between parts of the trivia game. The hosts were lovely and they sounded loud enough for everyone to hear (their AV system is great), so even if you’re seated at a corner, you’ll be fine. The trivia was hosted at one side of the venue, and I didn’t get a chance to check out the other end, but it seemed like there was another birthday party going on at the same time. Now I have an excuse to go back! Of course, I’ll have to check out the game wall at the corner thoroughly as well!!
Janet L — Google review
Very fun place! They have all kinds of games you can check out, pretty much any game you can think of they have available. The espresso martini was delicious, and I highly recommend it. The food was pretty good. It was a little slow getting to us, and it wasn't super warm, but the flavors were good. They have a "dice shot" that you can order, and that was super fun. You pick a dice, and they bring over this castle that you drop the dice in, and your shot is determined by the number your dice lands on. Plus, you get to keep the dice as a souvenir. The decor is super fun, and the chairs are pretty comfortable, we didn't play a game but would have been comfortable enough for a couple hours had we chosen to play a game.

"My favorite cheese is the one you keep around for emergencies. Just in queso." ― @primawesome, Twitter/X Do you know what you need before hitting an ASU game? Carbs! Nachos and beer, baby. Plus an addition of wings too! - Nachos ($19 + $4 for grilled chicken): I can never say no to chips. It could be with guacamole, salsa, or cheese and I'm here for it. The nachos at Snakes & Lattes are legit. You get an "A" Mountain sized pile of chips. Do you need the extra protein? Maybe not. But we were seeing an ASU game in the late August heat. Let me have some protein. - Garlic Parmesan Wings ($15): I wasn't expecting a BWW saucy situation but I'm not mad about it. They were good sized, plumped, and tasty. - OHSO Popcycle Blonde ($8): One of my favorite brews in town and I'm not even a fan of beer. I love the Popcycle Blonde though because It tastes like a lemon raspberry popsicle at an ABV of 4.5%. Don't question it. Just get it. Enjoy food, drinks, and over 1000 board games!

Super cute restaurant that provides board games and delicious food! I love the payment system they have set up and they have so many games to choose from. I also like how there is a game master that comes to each table and can explain the game you want to play. So fun for friends and family!

Cute spot with endless games, coffee flights, and cozy vibes! Snakes & Lattes is such a fun, unique spot! The location is huge, super cute, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I came for a meetup group and had a great time. There are way more games here than I ever knew existed—literally walls of options—and they offer coffee, soft drinks, a full bar, and food. When I first arrived, I went to the bar to order and was kindly redirected to use the QR code at the table instead (which was super convenient). I couldn’t decide what to try, so I went with the coffee flight, which included: Black coffee on ice – Slightly sour, likely due to the beans being ground a bit too coarse. Dirty chai latte – My favorite! Strong chai flavor and the milk balanced out the espresso beautifully. S’mores cold foam – Pretty intense. The mocha base + marshmallow foam was very sweet—great if you have a big sweet tooth. Vanilla caramel – Also sweet, not my thing but not terrible. After sitting indoors for a couple hours, I got chilly and ordered a hot latte. It had a subtle floral note I wasn’t expecting—maybe from the oat milk or an added syrup? Not bad, not amazing, but it warmed me up. Service was pretty quick, and food came out fast too. Some folks in my group got the spinach artichoke dip and chicken sandwiches and said they were solid. My only real gripe is the price—$28 for a 4-drink flight and one latte is steep. But considering the atmosphere, games, and great company, it’s still worth a visit!
Amanda — Google review
Great experience! Visiting town and enjoyed getting to know some folks over shared apps (the elote bites are a must), beverages and board games. There's a per person cost to use board games ($6 currently) but it's totally worth it because the games are in great condition and there's even a board game concierge of sorts to find games for you and even recommend similar games—great way to discover new faves.

I have been coming to Snakes & Lattes in Tempe for several years now. Every time I have stopped by, I have had a great experience. The food is excellent. I like that they have a nice selection of food on their menu. While everything on their menu I have tried has been great, their macaroni and cheese stands out the most. It is some of the best macaroni and cheese I have ever had. You can never go wrong with their desserts either. I have tried every dessert they offer, and they are all fantastic in their own way. To the best of my memory, Snakes & Lattes is where I had my first affogato. While I have had an affogato from several restaurants now, Snakes & Lattes is where I had my initial one. The affogato is a perfect combination of sweet and bitter. Their skillet cookie and waffle sundaes are also excellent choices if you are craving anything sweet. The staff is friendly and attentive. To my knowledge, the only time I have been there is during lunchtime, which tends to be their quietest time during business hours, as they have told me and from experience. Thus, I have had some friendly conversations with the staff about sports and what they enjoy doing for fun outside of work. Another thing I like about Snakes & Lattes is its low-key atmosphere. Not only are there many board games to play, but it is also a brilliant spot to unwind and get a breather in before resuming the workday. It also helps that Snakes & Lattes is within walking distance of my workplace. I would highly recommend Snakes & Lattes to anyone looking for a place to relax, play board games, and grab a bite to eat in downtown Tempe.

Was iffy at first to try this place but glad I did. We got the chicken bacon ranch dip, franks red hot wings, side of spicy Korean chicken. For the main dishes we got the tortellini pasta, spicy chicken sandwich and i got the beef stroganoff. Everything was a 5 out of 5 jalapeños. That stroganoff was the best to me. Fire. Also ordered couple of michaladas and they were ok. Server was awesome. Nice, friendly, attentive. Will come back again and will order the beef stroganoff Again!!!!!

In many ways it’s just an average mall movie theater with limited and expensive food and drink. I usually go to a dine in theater but for One Battle After Another I really wanted to see it in 70mm IMAX. This theater did not disappoint! The sound quality and massive crystal clear picture definitely added the experience and made the movie even more incredible. Highly recommend this theater specially its IMAX screen.
Austin S — Google review
Humungous IMAX screen and great sound. I really enjoyed Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. I wish I had a theater like this near where I live.
J H — Google review
There’s 1 IMAX auditorium here with 2 digital projectors. The seats are regular rockers instead of recliners. I guess I’m kinda spoiled 😅because rest of the auditoriums have renovated to wide comfy recliners. The screen & sound itself is what you’re essentially paying for. Definitely money’s worth in terms of massive size and surround/bass. There were some instances where the sound felt too loud. The space between the row in-front isn’t too generous for long legs. Overall, an amazing way to experience movies on a ‘true’ sized IMAX screen, capable of 70mm films & re-releases. Edit: On those 70mm labeled films, there will be no previews, so best to be seated before the showing starts!!
