Specialty Museums
The Merry-Go-Round Museum, located in the original Sandusky Post Office building, offers a fascinating glimpse into amusement and carousel history. Visitors can marvel at exquisite vintage carousel figures and learn about Dentzel carving tools. The museum features rare pieces such as a Gustav Dentzel deer from 1895, a Charles Looff goat and camel from 1880, and the King Armored horse by Daniel Muller from Cedar Point's Kiddieland carousel.
So I was expecting more but it was still fun! Took my kids to the merry go round museum while on vacation. I always try to go non traditional museums or zoos when we are on a get away. So first we tried to go on a Tuesday but they were closed (google said they were open 😑) so we came back on Wednesday. They open at 11am, we go there a little after. It was almost $40 for a family of 4. You get 1 free ticket for the carousel per person… if you want more rides it’s a $1. When you walk in you can see all kinds of animals from the carousels some are over 100 years old! The volunteers working there are friendly and kind. Another fun thing they have an available is a scavenger hunt. I really recommend doing that, it’s a great excuse to really look at every exhibit and get your moneys worth. Plus if you complete it you get a prize from the gift shop. They also have a little station where people are making new pieces by hand. If your a nerd like me it’s cool to get a glimpse of the process.. Also it’s not advertised well, but this is a 2 for 1 museum. They have a “cedar point” museum inside as well, it’s like a small room and hallway but still cool. Even tho I expected more especially for the price my kids had fun and we spent about a hour and half enjoying ourselves!

This place is amazing! Our daughter loves carousels and this place was incredible. So much history, beautiful horses, and we stayed here for hours. It is very affordable and we would highly recommend. There is a cedar point museum inside as well. We enjoyed it here and will return!
Jackilyn B — Google review
You need to see this fantastic museum. You get to ride a real historic carousel. Beautiful displays so much to see. Wonderful Cedar Point museum inside this museum. You get two museums in one building. Feel like a kid again, bring out some great memories.
Peter S — Google review
Very informative displays and volunteers. Learned a few things I never knew about carousel and the horses/animals. Great display on cedar point as well lots of memorabilia. Best part you get a free carousel ride included with your entry
Mary H — Google review
It was nice to find that there's more to Sandusky than just Cedar Point. This was such an adorable find! While the Carousel museum is comprised of one larger room and a smaller one off the side for the Cedar Point History Museum, there is so much to look at. They have carousel animals and pieces all along the outer area around a rideable carousel in the middle of the room. They'll give you a ride ticket when you enter and extra rides are $1. Take some time and read the information screens and signs they have posted to learn more about the animals you see. The even have a woodworker come in on the weekend that you can watch!
Alice B — Google review
A fun little stop! Has a carousel you can ride and different carvings and some history to look at. There is also a cedar point museum inside full of history of cedar point. We enjoyed this stop, but is not very big so can be a quicker stop.
Tessa — Google review
The nostalgia is alive at the Merry-Go-Round Museum. There is a rideable carousel in the center of the showroom floor and it’s included with admission. The outstanding, varied collection of iconic, bizarre, peculiar, and familiar figures will provide a lot of conversations and laughs with friends and strangers. As soon a you walk through the door, you are greeted with dozens of carousel figures that look like almost every animal imaginable. The front counter resembles a circus tent. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The museum is self-guided with no time limit. Take in every detail of the decades of history around you. You’ll find more than a few curiosities. Since it’s a museum, there are a few displays to help inform you of the long and surprising history of merry-go-rounds. This doubles as a museum for Cedar Point amusement park, which is included with your admission as well. Dozens of glass cases filled with a hundred years of park history. There are shirts, buttons, photos, pins, mugs, and many more items to view. There are banners and old park posters so you can take a visual walk through history. The end of this area is filled with art inspired by the park. Lastly, there is a case dedicated to Sandusky’s own Miss America 1963, Jacquelyn Mayer. Pieces of memorabilia from her big win, news articles, and photos to bring you back to her crowning moment. All-in-all, this was a neat couple of hours. The Merry-Go-Round Museum is exactly what it needs to be. Go for fun, go to learn, or go to realize just how bizarre the makers of carousels can get.
Mappening R — Google review
This place was really cute, and the artistry of the carved animals was beautiful. $10 for adults, $7 for seniors. Entry fee includes a ride on a gorgeous old merry-go-round. It's not for everyone, but if appreciate the place merry-go-rounds hold in American History then you will walk away happy!

Water Parks
Cedar Point is a vast amusement park featuring an array of water slides, thrilling rides, roller coasters, and entertainment options. The Cedar Point Museum provides an intriguing look into the history of this renowned park, showcasing its evolution from a lakeside resort to a globally recognized entertainment destination. Visitors can explore original roller coaster models and learn about the park's legacy.
Cedar Point is absolutely amazing! The rides are packed with fun and thrills from start to finish it truly lives up to its reputation as the roller coaster capital. We went during Halloweekends, and that took the experience to a whole new level. The park was covered in spooky Halloween décor, with themed attractions and special activities that made the atmosphere even more exciting. Between the coasters, the seasonal events, and everything else the park has to offer, one day just isn’t enough you’ll definitely want more time to experience it all!
Nijanand S — Google review
Absolutely amazing amusement park! The roller coasters here are top notch and from online info they are consistently ranked top in the country! There are also other fun rides like a 300 foot tall swing ride, a gondola down the middle of the park, and a good amount of little kids rides. There is also an indoor arcade area. Any roller coaster enthusiast will love this park, but families will have fun too! The food is also pretty good, with good portions, and the meal plan is definitely worth it!
Matthew Z — Google review
I came this year for hallo weekends. The best day of all was actually Halloween. The crowds were low and we were able to get on all the rides very quickly. A few rides like the millennium we are able to get right back on as soon as we got off. The amount of effort put into decorating the park is amazing. It really does give you a spooky fall natural vibe. The haunted houses are a lot of fun too. The best places to eat in my opinion are the pavilion and the barbecue place. The mixed drinks are way too sugary and not enough alcohol though. I recommend finding a bar that serves liquor and doing a shot. We got tequila shots at the one place in the pioneer village area and they were basically like doubles. If your time is limited it's a busy day you may want to invest in a fast pass. On a busy day you can wait up to 2 hours for some of these roller coasters. I also visited in the summer. The water park there is pretty nice. They have some water slides a lazy river and a nice beach. Cedar point is definitely the premier roller coaster destination in North America. I love the top thrill 2, The Magnum, the millennium, and really most of the other roller coasters there. If you're staying over I recommend sawmill Creek It is a resort like atmosphere there and they have two pools and hot tubs. I haven't stayed at hotel breakers but I have stayed at castaway Bay and I don't like those rooms there. They remind me of prison cells. Overall I definitely recommend visiting cedar point if you never have. It is in a great location near the Lake Erie Islands and a lot of other fun things that you can do.

Brought my kids to this amusement park for our first visit here and it really did not disappoint. We purchased tickets in advance, which can save some money especially if you go through a third-party seller so be sure to check around for deals. You will have to purchase parking, I purchased preferred which does get you a bit closer to the entrance and comes in handy after a tiring day. I added meal and drink packages to our tickets which also came in handy as you could get drinks every 15 minutes and get meals every 90 minutes. If you are visiting during peak season, I would recommend a fast pass upgrade too as it can cut down your wait times significantly although they do sell single ride fast passes in the app, which I would recommend downloading and using during your visit as well. If you are a roller coaster or thrill ride enthusiast this is the park for you. They have over 20 thrill rides and coasters combined. They also do have rides for children or those seeking less of a thrill. There are also other things the park has like arcades, access to the beach, and even more. There were some rides that were down at times during our visit but they came back on soon enough and we were able to ride. The newer and most popular rides did have wait times that were longer than an hour but there were others that you could ride then get back on immediately after the ride. I did not find any wait too long and during your wait they have shade, fans, mist machines, or a combination of those in line. Overall, our visit was great. We were able to ride many of the top rides during our visit and it was not too crowded so wait times seemed minimal. Great park, with great rides and looking forward to returning for another visit in the future.
Jackie D — Google review
Absolutely one of the best amusement parks in the world without a question. I try to make it here at least once a year and especially during the Halloween season because I love seeing everything all decked out. Waits for rides can get long, so I definitely recommend fast pass, or packing your patience and something to do in line. If the weather is bad there isn't a ton inside to do which is a bummer.
Eliott S — Google review
I drove 2.5 hours from Michigan to check out Cedar Point’s Halloweekends, and while the event itself was fun, there were definitely some frustrating parts. Parking was chaotic and poorly managed, and the wait times for rides and haunted houses were painfully long. Fast Lane passes were available, but at over $400 for two people, it felt way too expensive just to skip the lines. That said, the rides were awesome once we finally got on — especially at night with the Halloween atmosphere — and the food was actually really good. The park was decked out in spooky decor, with fog, lights, and scare actors creating a great vibe. Overall, it was a fun experience, but between the long drive, rough parking, and high costs, it wasn’t quite as smooth or worth it as I hoped.
Kailon L — Google review
The best! Cedar Point is a premier destination for coaster enthusiasts and the general public. With multiple different places to stay on site of close to the park, it also makes it convenient to stay multiple days. There are rides for everyone there, ranging from kid friendly rides to purely extreme rides. They call Cedar Point "America's Coaster Coast" for a reason. They have roller coasters all over the park. You could spend your whole stay just doing roller coasters. The wait times are usually pretty long for most rides, so be prepared. But, I will say that almost every wait is worth it. I waited 60 minutes for Top Thrill 2 and Siren's Curse, 75 for Maverick. Every wait was 100% worth it. I also really appreciated how kind and friendly the staff was, you dont find that at every amusement park. If you are anywhere close to Cedar Point and have some free time, come and check out Cedar Point. You'll be satisfied.

We went for Halloweekends on Nov. 1st. It was my kids (ages 8 and 9) first experience with Halloweekends, and I myself haven't been to Halloweekends since I was a kid. We stayed until 12am when they close. I will start with the NEGATIVE first: took 3 stars bc it wasn't scary like at all. There were a lot of parts of the park that had no creepy music playing so it didn't feel very Halloweeny and there's weren't any scary dressed up people walking around unless you were in the Frontier Town part of the park and even then there was like only 5 ppl walking around. Anything scary you just weren't allowed to enter unless you paid A LOT of money for in advance. Family with multiple kids just can't afford that. So the kids and I were pretty disappointed they couldn't go into ANY attraction, no corn maze, no haunted houses eventhough we are Gold Pass holders. They're going to lose money this coming year if they go that again I think. The Positive: We still had a great time as the kids are still young. The bands were absolutely AMAZING!! Honestly that was what really made the visit so magical. The decorations were so great too! Wait time wasn't horrible and weather was nice. PLEASE make it scarier and ACCESSIBLE next year. Know your audience. This is Ohio and we don't have money to pay extra when we already spend hundredsss on membership passes. It's messed up.

Ghostly Manor Thrill Center is a family-friendly entertainment hub that offers a wide range of attractions suitable for all ages. From a haunted house and mini-golf to a 3D theater and skating rink, this indoor venue has been recognized by Forbes Magazine and featured on The Travel Channel's 'Best Places I've Ever Been' series.
An amazing getaway. It’s great for kids and adults, I wish they had more to do but for the price it’s enjoyable for everyone, we had an issue one time with an adult running into our child on the skating rink and was extremely rude but other than that it’s a fun experience lots of games, they offer food like pizza and drinks, the 3d golf is awesome, the dark ride is fun. And we have been several times and will be back!

Had a great experience here! Needed something to do for a few hours before our resort check-in and this fit the need perfectly! We interacted with the manager a lot. She was extremely nice and helpful along with all the other staff! We did the fun pass and added on the play area! The pricing is wonderful too! Will definitely visit again if back in the area!
Britanie D — Google review
They have a lot to offer here, a little of everything for indoor entertainment. There was an arcade, roller skating, mini golf, and so much more. It was clean and not too crowded. It would be great for a fun date or for a birthday party. Mini golf got a little backed up but we still enjoyed it, they give you 3-D glasses which is a whole new challenging experience for mini golf. Worth the stop for some fun.
Tessa — Google review
We come here every time we come to Sandusky to take the kids to Great Wolf Lodge. It's only a few minutes down the road and you can easily kill a couple of hours here. The kids will love it. They have skating/rollerblading, a haunted house, play area, bounce area, arcade, mini golf, etc.
Kenny D — Google review
The place is very nice and clean, and extremely friendly staff. While we were not there for long, we enjoyed our experience very much. We did the 7D Dark Ride and the Haunted House. The 7D Dark Ride was fun and I enjoyed the shooting aspect (it reminded me of Fortnite). The Haunted House scared me so damn bad. I genuinely was tweaking out the entire time, especially the end with the claustrophobic bit. Definitely scary even for a 20 year old like myself. All in all, good experience. 10/10 would piss myself again.
KalaMari — Google review
Brandy did a great job! We do quite a few escape rooms and had a great time with this one! It has multiple rooms which we like and puzzles that felt unique. The VR experience was good but short. I 100% recommend the mini-golf! 3D glasses and black lights make it a truly unique experience!
Patrick N — Google review
Loved this place . Must visit if you are looking for a fun activity with friends and family! The haunted house and the dark ride were the best activities we did .
Pranjali S — Google review
It has a range of different activities including skating (they offer supports and even scooters for beginners), minigolf, arcade games, VR games 4D X experience, a haunted house and even a bounce house for younger audiences. It is suitable for all age groups and reservations for parties are also available. In my opinion, the best activities were 3D minigolf and the haunted house. The house is different from other haunted houses as they also have live actors to increase the scare factor, while still keeping it fun for younger audiences (above 10 years).

Nature & Parks
Shoreline Park, llc is a recreational area located along Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It offers various amenities such as a playground, picnic tables, fishing opportunities, and concessions. The park features picturesque views of the lake and sandy shores, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls along the shoreline. Additionally, visitors can enjoy biking on designated trails and capture beautiful photos in the shaded areas of the park.
This looks to be a newly renovated area, and the upgrades look pretty good. It was raining when ee checked this spot out so we didn't really stay to appreciate much aside from the view of the southern shores of Lake Erie (we live an hour North of Long Point on the Northern shore) and just relax moment before heading on to the road home.. Recommended spot to visit if you're in the area, the views of Six Flags across the bay is extremely picture worthy so definitely bring your camera here.

We wanted to take our elderly dog to the dog beach... This place was awesome, but the walk to the dog beach from the parking lot was quite the long haul. Otherwise, the place is great for swimming, hiking, biking, it hanging out.

Nice little park. Great access to the water and seeing the bay. The sandwich shop in the park is excellent. Kayak launch could be improved, but will do and lets you explore downtown.

It was a beautiful view of Lake Erie...one concession stand with not the greatest food! Lots of boats to see that were docked... But was a pretty area....

Very beautiful place! I absolutely LOVED it. Only one exception though. They do not clean up the vast amount of feces on the grounds due to Geese, ducks and/or dogs. Was extremely hard to walk without stepping in it. It was even on the sidewalks and walkways as well. Terrible mess on an otherwise beautiful place to visit.

Castaway Bay is a unique indoor waterpark in Sandusky, located at the mouth of Pipe Creek. Unlike other resorts in the area, this Caribbean-themed destination is entirely dedicated to its various water slides, wave pools, and lagoons. The resort also hosts daily events for added excitement. In addition to the waterpark, Sandusky offers other attractions such as outdoor water parks like Cedar Point Shores and Kalahari Resort.
Wow. I am very happy to have found this beautiful and fun place. Most of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They had story time in the lobby at check in so our kids were occupied it was super interactive and cute. This place is big with plenty to accommodate any age. . There is mini golf , bowling , arcade games & restaurants/ cafes. The coffee is Starbucks so that was a huge bonus for me. After 11 pm games were half off at mini golf & bowling. The waterpark itself was so much better than a few other ones I’ve went to recently. The water was pretty warm but not bath water warm. There was tons of life guards! They were all paying attention at all times. Supervisors everywhere watching and keeping an eye out. It was very impressive. Everyone we met was nice. Almost every slide was useable and all the areas were fun. The water coaster was a hit for our family. The lady who does the cooking in the cafe restaurant was very nice and friendly. The pizza was hot and fresh. There was just so much to do. It’s awesome that the waterpark is open long hours and useable for your whole next day. I absolutely would go back. It was such a great experience. . It’s on the water. Miles from cedar point. . Can’t say enough good things about it.

We normally stay at Hotel Breakers, but couldn't during the total solar eclipse event, so we stayed here. This is a great hotel for families with kids 4-12. They offer a bunch of activities (water park, bowling, mini golf, crafting, escape room), it's close to the park, and the themes are fun. They even gave us a packet of stuff we could do (scavenger hunt, activity book, coloring sheets, etc.). We thought the food was good for the breakfast buffet and so was the pizza at the other store. The water park was fun, including the water rollercoaster, but our 2.5-year-old didn't appreciate the area as much as my husband and I did, which is why I think slightly older kids would enjoy this more. You can get snacks there and alcoholic beverages if that's something you want. The towels they have for free are tiny, but we just took as many as we needed. They had plenty there. I would go here again when our daughter is older & either early in the season or off season. I would do 5 stars, but the hotel room beds need an update. It was clear they were old and ran hot easily. I love the convenience of Hotel Breakers with the park and beach plus the accommodations, but this option is very nice and fun. I enjoyed it!

Ok, Upon entering your welcomed into seemingly a child friendly environment, the main lobby features a pirate ship replica with touch screen entertainment as portals, the common / food area as expected. The main elevators for the rooms leave much more to be desired. ( They are small and very dated inside, and caused a horrid wait time to travel to your designated floor. ) The rooms were generally clean contraire to the ratings on here. The pool was nice but the walkways around the indoor venue were narrow and can be tough to navigate with any crowd. The main gripe would be the children's main splash pad area is heavily covered with the ventilation system blowing on it, causing the little ones to be cold in the indoor area. Upon reading reviews we saw complaints of the windows for the lobby area and common area being dirty, they are over the bay and not easily cleaned. The breakfast was good, the offer of items was plentiful leaving the toughest of people satisfied. Overall would we revisit, yes, monetary value - good for child and youth appropriate. As for teens, it lacks larger attractions nearby resorts offer.

Stayed here in a group with 6 adults and 3 kids ages 2-4 for 3 days. Overall, a fun time for all. For other parents, I would say age 4-8 is probably ideal, but the 2 and 3 year old still had a very fun time. The reason I’m knocking a star is due to room descriptions. We got a 2 queen and sleeper chair room and the room did not have a sleeper chair, just an arm chair. Our other room was a King and 2 queen suite. We were given 2 doubles and not 2 queens. It doesn’t take away from experience, but inaccurate room descriptions can’t be given 5 star.

From our arrival walking in till we left the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean along with the bathrooms. The water park was awesome. Very kid friendly. The wave pool was a blast and the toddler area was a plus. Lifeguards we’re on point and seem to be very focused on there jobs +++. For the parents with little ones the gift shop have goggles 🥽 that were more affordable then Walmart, Target and Meijer’s. The gift shop was all around very affordable. The buffet was pricey but good. In house coffee shop was delicious. We will be returning.

The amenities and staff at this location are wonderful. We were in town for a tournament and it was so nice to have everything on property. The waterpark is beautiful and well maintained. We enjoyed the activities such as trivia, karaoke and corn hole. The mini golf and bowling were great add ons. Breakfast onsite, good pizza and a quick stop over to Quaker Steak. We will definitely be back!
Samantha B — Google review
I give this water park three stars. Solely based on half of the water slides were closed!!! That's not cool at all. Especially when you're paying a lot to stay her for a few nights. Cast away bay is definitely family friendly. I thought it was cool when we arrived, two employees put on a cool little show with music.. the energy was awesome. Involved kids to dance!! The beds in the rooms were ok. Cast away had a recent renovation but they didn't upgrade the beds at all. Over all mediocre at best. The arcade is fun and super-sized. Other activities to do with the family included, golf, bowling and an escape room! Plenty to do! Honestly, Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge is the way to go if you want to go to a water park. I don't know if we would come back based on the slides not being up and running.

This is our first time at this place - cast away by the bay as normally we used to go to Kalahari. Check in : Check in was smoother, and the check in staff was prompt and quick. Rooms : Here is the big problem, the Heater / Air-conditioning unit wasn't working in our room, and it took a while to clean, and until then wasted the time. Water park : Not so impressive, small but not crowded like the other parks, it's decent, and all of them were working, kids enjoyed it, Spa was nice.

Nestled in the heart of Sandusky, Ohio, Castaway Bay by Cedar Point Resorts is a vibrant tropical-themed getaway that promises endless fun for families. This waterfront resort features bright and inviting rooms alongside an impressive indoor water park designed to mimic a Caribbean paradise. Guests can dive into adventure with various recreational amenities, including both indoor and outdoor pools, an arcade filled with games, and multiple dining options like the High Tide Cafe.
Recently stayed here for 1 night. Check in was a bit slow, however all the staff were friendly and personable. The water park was really fun. 2 of the smaller slides were down. The other slides were extremely fun, especially the water coaster. The rooms are spacious and the beds are a bit on the firm side. There are plenty of things to do here with the kids. They even have characters come out to interact and play games with the kids. We also were allowed to go to cedar point a hour before it opened to the general public which was an added bonus.

The good: Locations is really good for Cedar point access. We had a bay view room, therefore view was very nice from room Pre-check in process is helpful, so that end of the day you can collect keys and head straight to room. Indoor waterpark was fun and staff was very good. Not so good: The showers attached to indoor waterpark barely worked. Just enough to put water on yourself. Terrible: The bed was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. Never in my life have experienced such a squeaky bed. You sit-it squeaks, you lie down-it squeaks, you turn-it squeaks. Why can’t the property invest in a decent mattress? Could not sleep the whole night and woke up with a head-ache!! Our bath tub had issues, so we could not even use it for the 1 night stay! Bathroom had no ventilation, yuck! Even motels in today’s world provide iron and iron board, none in the room. Paper thin walls, we could hear all conversations from next door room and foot steps from room above and outside of the door. Overall the rooms need major maintenance! You wonder what you paid for after not being able to sleep or take a bath.

My family as well as the families of two of our friends visited the hotel this weekend. The hotel is lovely, as was the staff, but the waterpark was a problem for us. None of the slides, nor the roller-coaster were running. Plus, the water was freezing, which wouldn't have been a problem if there was anything to do other than the wave pool. It was very disappointing because we had 7 kids with us. We chose this hotel because most wont ride rides at the park, and we wanted something for them to do. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything for them to do at the waterpark in the hotel. It was quite a bit of money to stay there, which we didn't mind paying because of the waterpark. We only spent about an hour in the waterpark the entire weekend. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

It was an amazing time! A lot of different activities for all age groups! We spent one of our days at cedar point, then returned to the hotel to finish our night with swimming and bowling. We wished we would have known you can fish beforehand! Must use caution outside on the lake because there are NO RAILINGS! It would take nothing to fall in! We also had ants in our room, but they reimbursed us 20% off our 2nd night and refunded $230 to our card. So we were appreciative of that!
Lindsey B — Google review
Check in was easy and the guy at the counter made sure our friend was on the same floor as us. Water park was little small compared to others we have been to but the kids still had fun and we didn't have to bring our towels. The breakfast on the other hand was over priced and the drinks were watered down. My husband was going to have coffee but it was out. I'd say if you stay here find another place for breakfast until they have someone to manage it and keep things filled up.
Crystal S — Google review
Decent hotel rooms and breakfast, it’s fun for kids. However, Sunday morning we got to the waterpark at 10am for a day of fun and by 10:20 they made everyone get out of the water. We waited but after 30 min they still weren’t letting us back in. While waiting there were ants everywhere throughout the park, climbing all over the chairs and ground, it was gross. I complained but they wouldn’t offer any assistance. The front desk said it was something about a power surge and they didn’t know when it’d be back open so we left. I have two very disappointed kids, and for the price it’s just not worth it.
Rebecca H — Google review
The rooms have 2 double beds, which are quite small for adults or older children to share. The sheets aren't nice feeling or fitting, so they come off the mattress while sleeping. Our room has boogers all over the walls, spiders and ants crawling around.... The water park was great though! My kids loved it and I could spend hours there. The staff were awesome.
Jill R — Google review
We took a family trip to Cedar Point and stayed for 4 days. Check-in was kind of stressful because they gave us a map and put us on the first floor but our room was on the 3rd. After we got that figured out, we got checked into our room. The smell in the room was different. It almost smelled like wet dirt or soiled laundry. Our shower had no shampoo or conditioner. We noticed that Housekeeping did not come once. By the third day, we had to call down to the front desk and ask for new towels. Our bedding was not switched out. We were not happy with this considering we stayed for a couple days and did not get checked up on. We went to the breakfast bar and it was $17 per person. It was okay food but we noticed we were the only family sitting and eating there. The water park was okay. It was packed and water slides were shut down. It was a fun experience but for the price we paid it was not worth it.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Sheldon Marsh State Nature Preserve, located near Sandusky, Ohio, spans 472 acres and offers quiet trails through coastal wetlands. The preserve is home to nearly 300 bird species and a variety of wildflowers. Visitors can enjoy hiking through the diverse landscape, with trails leading to hidden shores and beaches. The area's unique ecosystem, shaped by Lake Erie, provides a habitat for rare bird and plant life.
Eagles! History! I enjoyed an adventure filled 40 minute run on the first portion of the original road to Cedar Point that washed away in the 1900s. Sand beaches, dirt trails, and paved surfaces made for fun running alternatives.
Andy B — Google review
Nice, easy, short, and paved out-and-back trail. There were a few small dirt trails that broke off from the paved trail and back to the paved trail. If you are allergic to poison ivy, would highly recommend avoiding most of this trail. Pretty much anywhere I looked along the edge of the trail, there was poison ivy. The views were absolutely beautiful, and the birds and wildlife were amazing to watch. This trail was fairly busy during my visit. I'm very happy families are getting out and walking, and having fun in nature, but if you're looking for a quiet trail, this isn't the one for you.

Beautiful stop! Our family stopped here on our roadtrip and spent a couple hours walking the trail and enjoying the nature. This park is open dawn until dusk. There is a main paved trail, with many smaller dirt offshoot trails. We saw turtles, empty turtle nests, lots of birds, otters, and bugs! Once the sun starts going down, clouds of insects buzz overhead. It is surreal to hear the hum of so many bugs! We are definitely glad we stopped at this beautiful nature preserve.

🌿 Sheldon Marsh Nature Preserve – A Hidden Gem on the Shores of Lake Erie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Huron, OH Peaceful. Scenic. Always worth the walk. Sheldon Marsh is one of those rare places that hits every single time—no matter the season, weather, or reason for going. Whether you’re birdwatching, getting your steps in, or just in need of a mental reset, this preserve delivers serenity in spades. ⸻ 🛣️ The Path The paved trail is easy, stroller-friendly, and relaxing, making it perfect for walkers of all ages and abilities. As you make your way through the preserve, you’re surrounded by towering trees, local wildlife, and the soothing sounds of nature. It’s quiet, uncrowded, and deeply refreshing. ⸻ 🌊 Beach Views & Coaster Sightings Eventually, the path opens up to a stunning view of Lake Erie’s shoreline, and here’s the best part: you can see the Cedar Point roller coasters rising in the distance. It’s one of those small but magical Ohio moments—nature in the foreground, thrill rides on the horizon. ⸻ 👟 Pro Tip: If you’re up for a longer walk, follow the beach stretch down to the Point Retreat condos and loop back. It’s scenic, breezy, and feels like your own private stretch of lakeside escape. ⸻ 🐦 Birding & Bonus Golf Sheldon Marsh is a hotspot for migratory birds and local wildlife, and every visit offers a new surprise. Keep an eye out for herons, deer, and rare songbirds. Golf fan? Sawmill Creek Golf Club borders the preserve, and if you time it right, you can spot golfers on the green while listening to woodpeckers in the trees. Pretty surreal. ⸻ ❤️ Final Thoughts For me, Sheldon Marsh is personal. It’s a place to reconnect—whether I’m home visiting family, taking a solo nature walk, or just need a break from the noise of life. It’s one of the best spots in Ohio, and I’ll keep coming back as long as the trail leads to that peaceful beach view.

Not a bad place to waist time walking through a swamp and keep you from doing constructive useful activities. Good place to find other people doing the same thing you're doing like walking around becoming one with the mosquitoes. Great photo opportunities of things thousands of people have already taken pictures of. 😉

Every time I come here, I see a TON of wildlife. This video was just a baby rabbit I was able to get real close to. Very cool spot tucked away. Make sure to go all the way down and check out the beach as well as the wetlands.✌🏽

I've held more than 5 wild birds here including Chickadees, Finches, Sparrows, Nuthatches, and even a Red-winged Blackbird. If you are patient and know how to act around birds so they don't feel threatened, they will fly into your hand of their own free will and choice. It is quite an awe inspiring experience. I've successfully held at least 1 bird every time I have visited this Preserve.

Jackson Street Pier, located in Sandusky, Ohio, is a popular choice for visitors due to its central location along the Sandusky Shoreline. The recently renovated pier offers stunning views of Cedar Point and Lake Erie, making it an ideal spot for photography with its benches and spacious grassy area. However, visitors should be aware that the pier can be windy and lacks shade. Despite this, it remains a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
Great place to watch a sunrise or sunset. They have some pretty good bands playing every Thursday in the summer. Nice place to hang by yourself or with friends.

Family vibe carnival feel to it I suggest the vip pass if you can afford it opens up to all mentioned above

A beautiful place. Very well maintained in all aspects. While we were there celebrating Tommy Boy Fest, there was plenty of time between activities to walk around the pier area. The landscaping is immaculate. The placement of the swings, flagpoles, and other “park accessories” has a great layout. The barn area is a nice respite from the sun, but also a perfect spot for vendors. The only “downside” is that there isn’t a lot of shade. This is by design, so definitely wear sunblock, wear a hat, and probably an umbrella or other shady device. The lawn is huge and you can bring a lawn chair, blanket, or even a small tent to enjoy the peaceful surroundings or one of the many events like movie nights and concerts. Tommy Boy Fest drew over 6500 people on a single night. While the pier was undoubtedly full, there was still plenty of walkable area and access to the boats. It didn’t feel crowded or claustrophobic. There are excellent views of Lake Erie all over the pier. Watching the boats, jet skis, cruise lines, and birds is a great way to lose yourself for a few hours. Taking it in reminds you of how awesome life can be when you remember to slow down and enjoy it.

Sandusky Segwave offers a unique way to explore the town of Sandusky, Ohio with guided Segway tours. Led by the friendly and knowledgeable owner, Jim, visitors can choose from one or two-hour tours that highlight historic sites and local attractions. The tour includes scenic views of Sandusky Bay and visits to various parks. Additionally, visitors can also enjoy an outdoor escape room experience that takes them around the city while uncovering historical truths about Sandusky.
This was my first time doing a Segway tour. My uncle and aunt had done one through this company previously and had nothing but good things to say. I was a little skeptical about how much fun it would actually be, but I was wonderfully proven wrong. It takes a little getting used to the machines, but once you get the hang of it, they're so much fun! The tour of the city was really cool. Makes me heavily consider moving to the area. You can tell what a tight-knit community Sandusky is because of all the waving and names being thrown about, lol. If I'm ever able to vacation again in this area (or if I move there), I'll definitely be coming back.

I absolutely loved our tour with Sandusky Segwave! It was a little daunting, but an overall amazing experience! Jim is so nice and helpful, and he is the greatest guide. Feeling the wind in your hair and being able to spin and explore on a personal segway is an experience everyone should have. I highly recommend you go!

Great experience! We were just exploring downtown Sandusky & admiring the beautiful city & stumbled across this place and were accepted as walk-ins with no previous appointments. With friendly service. For someone that has never been on a Segway the learning curve was easy. Our instructor Jim was a excellent in providing training on how to operate the machine. As far for the tour, I loved the history that was associated with it, and the the city of Sandusky. Being 1/4th Native American I was really intrigued and proud that some of the history of my ancestors was mentioned. In all would highly recommend if you are touring the area.

The pierson family had a blast!!!! I am writing our review before we have even left!our trip started off with a long ride! We got here early and our room was ready very quickly. We get to our room and what i thought would be a beautiful view was not i pulled the curtain to see a satellite dish! I ran into Eternity in the hall and she asked how we were and I basically said aside from the satellite dish we were good.i laughed she appoligized and then wished is a better day! Now day two of our stay and we had a tiny ant issue and they were quick to fix the situation!!! And again I run into Eternity and she was amazing, she made my children's day and put a smile on our face again!!! Now the kiddos had a blast at the water park, where Jake made their day!!! My daughter even had to find him before we left the water park to thank him basically saying he was the best attendant out on the floor today!! We have one more day to go before we leave and I just had to make sure Eternity and Jake know how special this trip was because of them!! We will be back because of these two, their customer service was on spot, they make it a point to get to know you and your family!

Ehhh.... I was disappointed. The hotel is definitely in need of an update. The room is a good size, but I've been in phone booths bigger than the bathroom. The sink and vanity are across from the beds, not in the bathroom. Awkward brushing your teeth in front of everyone else in the room. Our sliding glass door was off the track and the thermostat didn't work. Maintenance repaired them fairly quickly and provided breakfast and arcade vouchers for the inconvenience, but the A/C didn't get above snow. The pull out couch is OK for shorter people but at 5'10" my feet were over the edge. Housekeeping prioritizes the recently vacated rooms for cleaning, so ours wasn't made up until after 4pm. Carpet seams in the hallway were duct taped over. And the theme is mixed between rustic log cabin and magical fantasy. The food in the restaurant was good, but not memorable. This weekend away wasn't worth the price.
Jason W — Google review
Upon check in, we were offered an upgrade, the front desk associate could clearly see our children we had with us. Ages 17 & 12. We took the "upgrade" to find ourselves in a very small room, the Den Suite. The kids beds weren't even a full twin size bed. The bathroom is so small a notch was cut out of the bathroom door so it would close past the toilet. We were in the first floor which had a lingering odor of sewer. And I believe they have workers living on premises. Rooms are outdated, not usb plugs, no sheer curtains on the door for privacy, so it was either all light in your room and everyone can see in or complete darkness. Our "patio " another upgrade was near the service entrance - there is no privacy screen up so it was noisy and busy so not really an upgrade, if the space isn't useable. The water park was maintained well, although they did find poop in the one water slide and pool floor and everything remained opened. Lifeguards were spot on in every area! I would feel very safe with little ones there. I paid extra for the breakfast package, in my opinion not worth it. Food was salty, and mediocre at best. We were with a big group who had dinner at Gitigoo and said dinner was fantastic but they also were not impressed with the breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful.

It was very nice when we walked in the staff offerd the ears n showed us all the fun events going on. I have an autistic 3 year old son n it was my neice birthday I can say we all had fun and most definitely will come back. The food was a lil bit to high price and some of the gift shops stuff was kinda overpriced . My autistic son n neice wanted the magic but it was over 100$ for two of them kinda crazy.. other then that it was fun n will come back. So much to do everything was so nice. When I come back we will be doing our own food though .

We had a great time staying here. The staff was absolutely amazing with my autistic 7 year old! The room was cute but the bathroom was very small. My 4.5 year old loved floating with me in the warm pool. Would have been a 5 star but the prices of everything is ridiculous! We door dashed or went out when we needed anything. The kids got free wolf ears. They also got to go a a trick or treat walk thru the lobby and they loved it!! We got the birthday packaged added on and I'd have to say for the value, I didn't love it. The cake was previously frozen and tasted stale. The frosting on it was extremely sweet. (Next time we'll get a cake from Meijer next door- cuz there will be a next time!!) Overall it was an amazing trip and the kids loved it.
Amanda — Google review
It's an older hotel. Could use some improvement but it's clean and the staff is nice. Lots of noise past the curfew time. We were there in Thursday night. The ice machine and microwave on each floor isn't marked so you'll need to search for it. I had to call the front desk to figure out where it was as it also wasn't listed in the book in the room. Also, the Sandusky, OH one is definitely geared toward the smaller littles like the under 6 age range. We are use to a much bigger water park. But it was a good experience all in all. We had 2-10 year olds and a 12 year old with us.

After coming to Great Wolf for years this will probably be the last time. Our suites were trashy and bathrooms were dirty. The lighting in our rooms was terrible with some of the lights not working at all. The tv remote was gone. The toilets clogged with one flush! There was mold on the wall and blood stains on the kids sheets. The added $19 parking fee per night wasn’t appreciated. We waited an hour and 10 mins for chicken strips we were told would take 20 mins at Buckets. The items we received in our package upgrades were nothing like the photos I was shown. All in all we were very disappointed.
Beached A — Google review
This is my autistic son’s favorite place. We came here this week for his birthday and stayed from Sunday-Wednesday. Last year he was afraid of the bigger slide. However this year he conquered his fear and went down the orange slide! It became his favorite thing this time, going down 10-15 times each time. Every single person that worked the orange slide at the time that we’ve been there was so amazing and patient with my son. I don’t have any names because they were all so wonderful, but they never rushed him, never made him do anything he didn’t need to, and they even cheered him on as he went. They never made any judgment, and they were very happy that he had conquered his fear. They made it very enjoyable for all of us and a lot less stressful on a pair of autism parents, which we very appreciate. We look forward to coming every year for his birthday and I’m sure he looks forward to riding the slide 20 to 50 times a day.

Currently playing a week-long baseball tournament at this complex. Ripken bought out the complex but its not run like ripken yet. Tourney shirts sold out on day 1 in first hours sub par officials. Those are the constitution pros are the teams are all good. The facility is clean and nice. The ballfields while being multipurpose hopefully change over to full baseball in the future. Tons to do in area people all seem nice. Food and drinks overpriced. However I did see alot of people walking around with personal stuff so I dont think they make you leave you stuff in the car. Close to theme parks. Close to water parks. Close to tons of restaurants. Raising canes was good. Overall I would recommend the complex and the sandusky area for families looking to play a different style tourney. Happy baseball

Great sports complex. Very nice. Would be great if the bleacher areas provided cover/shade. With 95 degree temps, and elderly grandparents shade is needed. And having a cover provides less worry from getting struck with fly balls! Would also be great if the facility provided the large industrial fans that have most for the players during extremely hot days. Will also recommend consistency with announcing players during the championship games. This is a fun factor for the teams and happen

Battery Park Marina is a hidden gem for boating lovers, conveniently situated just a short drive from Cedar Point. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this marina offers a serene harbor and easy access to the expansive waters of Lake Erie. Whether you're looking to dock your own vessel or rent one for an adventure, Battery Park Marina serves as the perfect launch point for exploring the lake's beauty. But there's more than just boating at Battery Park Marina!
Went to enjoy some fishing, had a great time. Caught a lot of catfish and shephead but still but a very nice park area. Lots of seating areas and very clean and peaceful area.

The whole place has gone downhill fast in the past 3 years while the prices go up. Dozens of safety lights out for years, dirty facilities too often, not enough staff at gas/pump out (we had to do the pump out ourselves), no consequences to those who can’t be polite and abide by their contracts...

Amazing views from this place i first visited on WCO (winter chill out) day 2/22/25 and then through out the summer and I was taking in the view you get of the park and I starting crying because I made so many memories on all of these rides and in the park in general! I love coming here highly recommend it!

There were three employees at the fuel dock when we pulled up. No help docking - no problem. We were told only one pump-out was working and two boats were in line in front of us. The employee suggested we go to another marina. We said we would wait in line. No help moving the boat up closer to the pump-out when it was our turn, no help pumping-out whatsoever, they never touch the pump out hose, they'd never touched the water hose, they never touched the boat and they never touched a line on the boat to help us push off the dock when finished. Unbelievable!

I can’t say enough nice things about this place. Great staff and management! If you are looking for a bite to eat on the water, Al Fresca is amazing; looking for a dock, this marina is located in the heart of Sandusky, with so much to do!

Mylander Park, also known as "Mile Marker Zero" for the Sandusky Bay Pathway, is a charming concrete park with a fountain, planters, and ample seating. It offers a picturesque waterfront view with sailboats and the Jet Express Ferry Boat nearby. The park is conveniently located near downtown's main street and features easy access to cultural amenities like the Merry-Go-Round Museum and historic parks such as Miami, Epple, and Huron.
Visited: 07/07/2023 Lovely little park to sit and enjoy the water front and watch the boats going by. The Maritime Museum is usually floating nearby as well. Loved the swinging benches along the dock side, and the fountains.

Beautiful Park downtown. They got foosball, a water fountain and a great view of the lake and bars and restaurants everywhere.

Such a sweet place to stop by the lake. Kids can throw pennies in the fountain, see the ferries, watch sailboats from airondak chairs...great place to end a walk around town. Handicap accessible ramps to go down around the side and get down to the walkway by the water.

A nice concrete park boasting a fountain, planters, wide stairways with railings, ramps, and benches. With trees and other foliage makes this park a real gem for sitting, relaxing, and enjoying the waterfront. The Jet Express Ferry Boat docks close to this location which gives people in the park some entertainment along with restaurants, taverns, theater, and shopping. Plenty of free parking lots and free on street parking in the area. A well lighted area for those evening visits.

The hotel features two outdoor swimming pools, a heated indoor pool, private beach access, multiple restaurants including popular chains like TGIFridays and Starbucks, as well as amenities such as a whirlpool and shopping arcade.
Rooms were nice could use an update. Service was excellent staff was helpful at a moments notice. Building and room were clean. Beach was pleasant with lots of room for guest to spread out. With well maintained sand. Pools were clean. Kitty pool had some things out of order. Building could use a "general store" its iconic Cedar point will be back

Staff was fantastic and the front desk employee that helped had a wry sense of humor that I loved. It’s close to everything, so the location was great. That said the elevator button for the 10th floor would just not work (I used all three elevators at some point and they all had the same issue) sometimes which was annoying and the safe in the room didn’t work. The room was clean with a great view of the park. Overall a great experience.

There is no free coffee service here. No coffee bar with tea or hot chocolate options in the lobby. No coffee stuffs in your room. You get Starbucks or Perkins. Or a handful of places in the park and good luck finding them hot at 10 pm. Starbucks is at least $2 more then your normal off site ones as well. If I had known that would be my only resource for hot beverages, I would have packed my keurig. The line to check in. So long. We even were there early. These poor people then have to go though these CVS like receipts for your passes and meal plans, only to have to tell you that you have to redeem those in the gift shop. Another line. We were welcomed to a clean room. Not comfortable but clean. And for 3 people and 2 nights 1 little bottle of shampoo, 1 little bottle of conditioner and 1 bar of soap for all of the butt and face washing for 3 people. Silly me for not packing more when every hotel I have been at the last 3 years has had wall mounted hand soap and all the shower things already there. We open our window(so glad we could, the room smelled weird) to what I thought was the biggest display of bugs and cobwebs I could imagine. Only to be surpassed by our table at TGIF's in the lobby. You would think that when they cleaned the tables they would clean the window sills and maybe clean the windows if they are going to seat people there for a "lake view". It was so gross. But all the other booths had the same thing going on and our waitress was the sweetest. I just pretended I was camping. The I side pool and hot tub area could use some updating. And im glad they didnt want us to catch a disease. Because they used so much chemicals in the hot tub our eyes were on fire and burning and we had to get out. For the amount that we paid to stay on site, we feel like we got robbed. The staff was great though. Not a single bad thing to say about any of them.

Hotel Breakers offers unbeatable value and convenience for Cedar Point visitors. Its prime location made park entry a breeze, allowing us to split our park adventure over two days effortlessly. The room package included park passes and parking, which was a fantastic bonus. The staff was exceptionally friendly, always greeting us with smiles and ready to assist. Despite some negative reviews online, our experience was fantastic. Sure, the rooms aren’t Four Seasons-level luxury, but you’re paying for the proximity to Cedar Point and the seamless experience, not a high-end resort. After a 3-4 hour drive, we got exactly what we expected: convenience, comfort, cleanliness and an stress-free stay. We had an amazing time and will definitely return next year. 10/10, highly recommend for any Cedar Point trip!

First, let me just say we paid $500 for one night. $500!!!!! That’s high end hotel rates if you ask me. Well, they were not high end. Second, I don’t know how this hotel has not been shut down yet for health violations. MOLD is a health issue!!! When I first made reservations, I asked specifically to not be put in the east wing because of mold issues and with my daughter having asthma and myself lung issues, I was ASSURED there were no mold issues anywhere at the hotel, but my request was still noted. During check in I mentioned again my request to not be put in the east wing due to mold concerns and the employee assured me there was no mold issues and that she herself had stayed in the east wing and did not experience mold. So, where do they put us? In the east wing! Mold was EVERWHERE!!!!! So two of your employees flat out LIED to me!!! This hotel does IN FACT HAVE MOLD!!!! I would have to imagine the whole place is just filled with mold behind the walls. Mold grows and spreads. Third, Good luck with parking! We had to park at the farthest end of the west wing and walk our luggage and things to the farthest end of the east wing because there was no parking!! They don’t have luggage racks you can borrrow. What?!?? Again, this is a $500/night motel, I mean hotel. They only have a few entry/exit doors, which seems like a fire hazard to me. I truly don’t understand why this hotel can’t take some of the money they are making and apply it to their business for cleaning and upgrading.
Fae S — Google review
We had a great stay here! It was the off-season but the rooms were clean. Only complaint is we only had conditioner, no shampoo or body wash. Pool towels were really small so bring your own! The early entry into the park is certainly worth it.
Kari W — Google review
Our recent stay in the "most expensive" Lakeside Suite was profoundly disappointing and represented extremely poor value for money. While the location is undeniably the absolute best for convenient access to Cedar Point, this singular positive point is completely overshadowed by numerous issues related to maintenance, cleanliness, and guest service. The suite itself, despite its high price point, failed to deliver on basic standards of comfort and functionality. The "kitchen" area was a misnomer, equipped only with a mini-fridge that did not get cold. The bathroom was so cramped that movement was difficult. For those seeking a lake view, be warned: the private patio area is very small, entirely screened in, and was unfortunately covered in endless spiders and dead insects, making it unusable. Furthermore, the cable television was non-functional on roughly half of the available channels, and the beds were uncomfortably firm. The poor condition extended to the common amenities. The pool and hot tub area were visibly grimy, surrounded by outdated and worn chairs. The towels provided were barely larger than hand towels, which is unacceptable for a resort property. Finally, the service and logistical elements of the stay were lacking. Luggage carts were difficult to locate, and the staff we interacted with were often not very knowledgeable regarding basic guest queries. In summary, paying for the highest-tier Lakeside Suite offers absolutely no "bang for the buck." The cost buys you convenience to the park, but everything else—from the cleanliness of the facilities to the functionality of the room—suggests a property in desperate need of maintenance and upgrades. I cannot recommend this suite or this property based on the current standards. We left a day early!

So nice to have the Hotel so close in case you need to go back to your room. Cedar Point on the other hand don't waste your money if you think you going to see monsters around Halloween never seen one. We spent alot of money for a different experience then Six Flags (gurnee) just to realize we couldn't had more fun way closer to home.

This was one of the nicest campground that I have stayed. The park is nice. Campground store has everything you need. The fishing pond is gated with benches for sitting. Price is good. Pools looked very inviting. I will definitely stay there again when in this area.

We stayed in one of the group cabins. Its not too bad except the beds are extremely hard and you get 1 very flat pillow per person and the blankets are like the stiff hospital blankets. Our cabin smelt a little musty but its probably from the a/c being off and the humidity. The cabin could use some updating for sure but we didn't mind much. The train runs throughout the night which didn't really bother us much as it didn't blow the horn often it just rumbled by, however sometimes it does shake the cabin quite a bit. Not the campgrounds fault. They need to be more strict about golf carts, too many young children driving them and not paying attention. Its a decent campground and nice location if you enjoy cedar point. We stayed years ago with our tents but they have since changed tent spaces to gravel pads and I do not like that so we will opt for the cabin from now on. They forgot to give us washcloths which is OK because we bring our own things but I made sure to tell them because I did not want to be charged for stealing them. Lol. Also cabins come with a key to lock the doors, make sure they give you one, they forgot to give us one but we didn't have anything valuable inside so we didn't worry about it and come check out they tried to insist it was "almost impossible" they didn't give us a key, then they found it and apologized. They have a ton of things for kids to do and the two pools were nice if you plan on spending time at the campground.

We spent four days at the KOA campground in Sandusky while visiting Cedar Point, and our stay was a mix of enjoyable moments and significant drawbacks. Our assigned campsite was cozy, albeit rather compact, with neighboring campers situated just 12 to 15 feet apart. In the morning, we experienced a pleasant semi-shaded ambiance, but come afternoon and evening, we found ourselves bathing in full sunlight. Instead of the typical picnic table, our site featured a small metal patio table accompanied by four chairs, which, while functional, left us wishing we had more outdoor dining space. If you're contemplating renting a permanent site here, be aware that the setups are similar in size, so proximity to neighbors is inevitable. One major downside was the water supply its sulfuric smell that invaded our camper, making it unbearable. I strongly recommend bringing bottled water for cooking, drinking, and washing dishes, as using their water is not advisable—it’s simply rancid. On a more positive note, the two swimming pools were clean and well-maintained, much to the delight of the kids, who spent hours splashing around. However, the state of the bathrooms left a lot to be desired. Honestly, I have never encountered facilities so poorly maintained at a campground. The showers, tiny at just 2x2 feet, were impractical for any decent personal hygiene routine; shaving legs was out of the question. Additionally, there was no handicap-accessible shower available. As we entered the bathrooms, a powerful, unpleasant odor hit us, a toxic mix that seemed to be an attempt to mask the pervasive mold growing on the shower tile walls. Despite complaints we made to staff about the overwhelming smell and the mold, no visible measures were taken to rectify the situation. To make matters worse, the bathroom stalls frequently ran out of toilet paper and hand soap. We reported this issue to an employee, but unfortunately, nothing was replenished during our four-day stay, so be sure to bring your own supplies. The condition of the stalls and handrails was simply unacceptable, often dirty and unkempt, indicating a lack of regular cleaning during our visit. With no maintenance over four days, hygiene standards clearly fell short. The camp store, while stocked with a decent range of items you might have forgotten, was significantly overpriced. For instance, a stick of butter cost $2, and their homemade breakfast offerings, like pancakes for $10 and biscuits and gravy for $12, were pricey compared to a quick meal at McDonald's. Lastly, although the campground had a laid-back atmosphere, it was marred by some inconsiderate guests. One neighbor's dog roamed freely without a leash, repeatedly coming up to our camper, and unfortunately, it also left droppings in our campsite. If you’re planning a brief stay while visiting Cedar Point, I would advise weighing your options carefully before choosing this campground.

We stayed 2 nights and it was just ok. The pools were nice and clean and the patio on our campsite was nice. However, we did not get a picnic table, only a small round metal table with four chairs. And the bathrooms were not so great. The toilets were dirty and they seemed to have permanent stains. Also, there are train tracks near by that you will hear a train horn many of times throughout the day and night. The camp store has ice that is supposed to be open until 9pm, but we got there at 8:45pm and they said they were closed for serving ice cream. Kind of a bummer... Also, it seems that the sewer connection is fairly far away from your campsite. You will need extra length on your sewer tube if you have a small to medium size travel trailer.
Todd S — Google review
Be sure to bring your own bath towels as they don’t change them until every 2 days. The air conditioner vents were FILTHY, along with the bathroom vent. The front staff gave the wrong information as to what was included in our cabin, however for the most part the staff is friendly. Lots of activities for the kids though including a “train” ride around the property, arts and crafts activities, movie nights, and 2 pools, a large bouncy area, basketball court, pickleball court, a fishing pond, and a jungle gym.

I'll start by saying, we've always had a pleasant stay prior to this stay. I take my grandbabies there when we go to cedar point. I always tell everyone, the grandbabies seem to like the camping (we get cabins, they call "mamaws tiny house".) They love the bounce pillows, pools, tractor train, and over priced craft station. BUT THIS STAY WAS DIFFERENT!! I don't know if it is under new management or ownership, not only because of the decline in the upkeep, but the unwillingness to remedy our situation. My finances wasn't in line with renting our normal cabin, so I got the same kind of cabin with its own restroom, but the bunkbed was in the same room as mine, making it a few bucks cheaper UNTIL they charged my bank account! Here's the deal, was the charge for them trying to mask the smell, with spray or scent pucks, I complained about, not once but twice?! MOMENTS AFTER CHECK IN, I went to the office to discuss the pungent raid smell, mixed with stale cigarette smells. I got "it shouldn't" and that was it! Not a switch of cabins when there were 2 identical cabins that remained vacant the whole time we were there or any other remedy. So rather than unpack the expensive items (electronics) from my vehicle, we left the patio door open and headed to cedar point. Needless to say, when we got back it was no better. So to add insult to injury, we sleep with the door open as it was a bit cooler but not cool enough to be of comparison of using the ac, I'm sure is part of the upcharge of said cabin. Unprepared to feed the grandbaby, we get a text the following morning, that they couldn't make breakfast for our planned purchase. So on our way to McDonald's and to walmart for food for the remaining time, I stop in the office to , now complain. I only get, "we'll go check it out". We go to McDonald's and decide to just go to cedar point and shop on the way back. I stop back in the office to get, "I think housekeeping was there". We get back to the cabin to find, they either sprayed something or placed some smelly devices under the beds or something. So now it's a raid like scent, over nicotine, masked with something they've included. Let me tell you, I'm a smoker. I don't smoke in my home because it's fowl and my grandbabies shouldn't have to suffer because of my bad decision. So if I can smell it, you know it's bad! With my 2 yr old granddaughter waking with allergy symptoms, we decide to just stay away from the cabin as much as we can, only returning to lay our heads. Even with pictures of nicotine stained items and poor paint job to cover it, and them being there, they deny it ever being smoked in. I wish I could attach the pictures here. The microwave, range hood, ac, smoke detector, etc, is nicotine stained. So besides the horrific stay where we couldn't really stay but just lay our heads, they overcharge from what was stated on my reservation!! Am I charged for their inconvenience of having to mask the smell or the device used to mask the smell?! I left the cabin as it was, using none of their supplies, towels, or anything, as we brought our own and showered at the water park, also. We did go to the pool which was pretty clean. The public restrooms were still gross as usual and that's why I never rented a glorified shed after renting it the first of many stays. Because, despite complaints we made to staff about the overwhelming smell and the mold, no visible measures were taken to rectify that situation in all the years we've been staying. I may give it another try as camping is a big deal to the grandbabies as stated, but in all reality, they're about as expensive as a hotel anymore. Being a diamond member with Hilton, I may just try the tru or Hampton hotel for halloweekends! NOTE: I was going to leave this alone until I seen the upcharge for what? Another pungent smell added?! BTW, it was cabin MP213 so if you get assigned this cabin, refuse it at check in!

The best thing about this place was that it was near cedar pointnand rooms were ok. They were only ok bc our door had a small hole at the bottom and we kept finding new beetles and bugs crawling on our floors. Other than that the place was pretty nasty. The bathrooms were the worst. One shower stall looked like it it had poop stains on the wall. Pretty gross. Mold on the shower mats on the ground and the bathroom floor looks like it hadnt been cleaned in 10 years. The men's toilet was horrendous. We were here for 3 days and the toilets looked like the pictures for all 3 days. My wife told me that the womens toilets was just as nasty. They have a sign that says that bathrooms will be closed randomly for cleaning....never saw them clean it once. Also, 2 toilets and 1 urinal for the entire camp ground! Absolutely nasty!

Great campground... we love that gou can walk to the entrance and dont need to drive. They also have a shuttle that will take peoole over in case someone cant walk that far. We camped jn October for their Halloweekends and had an absolute blast. Highly recommend camping in your own rig or in one of their cabins!

Stayed in a waterfront cabin with 2 other adults. Great proximity to the park, excellent views of the lake, nice outdoor patio area to sit and relax. Not too loud even with the coasters running until 10:30-11 each night. Check-in staff was friendly and accommodating. Cabin itself left a lot to be desired. Odd musty smell in the main room never went away despite lots of time with door left open. Only decaf coffee packets were left, and no cups. Found various items leftover from (I'm assuming) previous guests, including nail clippers. Bathroom is ill-suited for 3 adults, much less the potential 6 person max capxity: there is maybe 2 square feet of counter space, all directly above the much-too-small toilet. Shower head did not swivel far enough away from bolted-on shower wash/soap dispensers, meaning those containers were constantly bumped into or you only got half the water stream. Beds were fine - having 3 beds is why I booked the cabin - and we appreciated the extra pillows. Overall, tough to recommend paying a premium for.

We got the deluxe cabin and were excited about the added space and sleeping options with the beds in the loft. The cabin was DISGUSTING, so filthy and crawling with ants and other bugs that I wasn’t comfortable sleeping downstairs. They put ant traps all over the downstairs which was only serving to attract more ants into the cabin. We couldn’t set anything on the counters or kitchenette because everything was crawling with ants. I called the front desk and asked for bug spray, they said they would come spray and wipe down surfaces to get rid of the bugs. When they knocked on the door they just handed us a can of Raid and left. There was still trash on the floors from previous occupants, it was pretty clear that they don’t actually vacuum and clean the cabins between visitors. There are wide open vents next to the toilets which smelled like a sewer and were caked with grime from people missing the toilet. Putting some kind of a shield on those vents might help stop them from smelling like a urinal. There are TVs by each sleeping area but most either didn’t work or the remotes were broken. Only the one in the downstairs bedroom worked, but we couldn’t sleep there with the bugs. One upstairs worked if you changed channels on the back of the TV. The cover was broken off of the key reader on the door, but luckily the lock worked. Overall I would highly recommend against staying here. It is nice being able to walk right over to the park, but there are plenty of nice hotel options outside of the park that we will explore in the future.

I traveled to cedar point about every 10 years. We always stay at the breaker hotel. This time we decided to do the cabin with my oldest son. It was his first time there. Nice little cabin. Great water view. You get a little charcoal grill which that's why we went with the cabin this time instead of the hotel. All in all nice little place to set up shop to hit the park.

We stayed at Lighthouse Point June 30-July 3 (Monday-Thursday) in a camper. Check-in was quick and easy. Staff were kind and polite. We were at a pull-through site, which couldn’t be easier for getting set up. The campground itself was well maintained. Full hook-ups at our site, including sewer. We did not visit any restrooms so cannot speak to the cleanliness of those. We did use the pool and hot tub our first night there and that would be our only minor complaint. The water and surrounding concrete was dirty with debris from the trees and bugs, but otherwise, the water was the perfect temp. The little splash pad area is great for kiddos. The campground was quiet (obviously you’ll have the noise from the amusement park, but that is to be expected) and clean. The entrances to the amusement park and waterpark are a quick drive or less than 10 minute walk. We cannot speak to the condition of the cabins, as we didn’t stay in one. Overall, we enjoyed our trip and will be back!

Our third time staying at the campsites. The location is great however, for the price I would expect the sites to be some what maintained. It’s obvious that they do absolutely nothing once someone checks out. There was literally a pile of dog poop on our patio, the picnic table was dirty and covered with dried food and cobwebs, and the sewer pipe connection is broken. They charge more than Disneys fort wilderness so I guess I was expecting more.

This year we upgraded to the Ultimate Patio Site at Lighthouse Point, and for just a few extra bucks, it was absolutely worth it. The setup includes a real firepit (no hauling your own), a nice grill, table, chairs, and Adirondack chairs. Basically everything you’d want for relaxing after a day of coaster chaos. The sites are in a great spot near Magnum XL-200, with a walkway that takes you down to a quiet little beach that was empty almost the whole time. Staying here also gets you into the park an hour early, with the Magnum entrance just a short walk away. The only downside was the goose/duck poop. I'm sure it's hard to stay on top of it, but It looked like the pad hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Other than that, super awesome and definitely the way to go.

We frequented Cedar Point many times this year. Choosing to stay at different locations depending on price, availability and duration. This time we stayed at in a cottage at Lighthouse Point. We know when we go, the place we stay is for sleeping and preparing for the next day. We spend nearly all of our time in the park. From the beginning, finding where to drive on the peninsula was well indicated with signs. Check-in was at the building at right when you pull in. The staff were very nice and our place was ready to go. We had a map with a path drawn to our cottage. Easy to find and there was plenty of parking. We lucked out and were planted between the pool and Lake Erie…which was awesome!! The unit itself is showing its age and things were slightly worn but it was clean and only had a hue of wood smell inside. Plenty of towels, wash cloths, and bedding. I would advise to bring your own pillow. Mamma Chettas delivered pizza after park close, right to the cottage. Which they had a menu for right in the park office. I knew it would be wise to have a backup plan for dinner, in case the kids didn’t want to stop riding coasters….the plan worked out well. We also grabbed Starbucks from Hotel breakers before hitting the park for early entry (free with your resort stay). If you plan to do the same, be sure to get there with plenty of time for the Starbucks line. Check out was even easier than check in and we were still able to park in the lot near the “Magnum” entrance. We kept the car there until leaving for the day about 2 hours before park close. We had no traffic to contend with and it was awesome! We are already planning for a stay next year!

Friendly ,quiet campground close to cedar point . The breakfast was good and it was nice not having to cook so thank you for doing the cooking for my family . The staff in the office are pleasant and gave our pooch a doggie biscuit, gave us places to get pizza that delivers to the campground another plus after a busy day at cedar point. Sally that cleaned the little playground equipment your hard work and dedication didn't go unnoticed during our stay. Thank you for a wonderful little vacation, we will be back to stay!

I chose this campground for its proximity to Sandusky. It is a nice wooded campground that feels well maintained. It is a kid friendly location that has a rabbit petting area for kids. The person serving breakfast was very friendly and sweet. The only downfall, to me, is the location...It backs up to the freeway. I was in a tent site nestled in the corner of the exit ramp of the freeway, so all night long I could hear traffic. Camp sites further toward the center seemed to be much quieter. All in all, it met my needs!

TL:DR I would stay here again. It would not be my first choice. We stayed in a cabin. I would however say calling it a cabin is a bit of a stretch as it's actually a wood shed. It was clean but smelled like a musty old wood shed. The beds were better than sleeping on the floor but they have a plastic like lining on them so they're very very hot. The bathrooms are extremely outdated but clean. One out of three of the soap dispensers worked. Most of the doors didn't lock. There was no paper towels in the paper towel dispenser. I didn't use a shower but my husband said that they were nice and warm. The property lines on your cabin are non-existent so you kind of guess what's yours and what's not and you share a grill. The biggest downfall was probably the people that were literally screaming bloody murder at midnight for at least half an hour. Staff was nice and it was nice to book somewhere when all the hotels were $300 plus but it's really just above sleeping in a tent. There was no lights around the bathroom where we stayed and The camp ground could really benefit from some signage telling you where what is and which way what road goes. The moral of the story is I'm saying don't not stay here but keep your expectations very very low.

Nice campground with shaded lots. Water electric and sewer all worked as expected. Friendly staff. We stayed in R69. It was a bit of a squeeze to get in with the way the neighboring sites were parked but once we were in all was well. Breakfast was pretty good at the pancake house and they gave us tickets for 3 free breakfasts in little goody bags. Very nice touch. It was too cold to try out the pool. The shower house was well lit with plenty of mirrors and electrical outlets for us ladies. The showers were not the ritziest but clean and serviceable. I enjoyed the bunnies and watching the kids ride the pedal cars around the grounds. All the surrounding campers were welcoming and had well behaved dogs. We had our dogs and they enjoyed it too, they even made a few friends. Overall a nice little campground very conveniently located.

Camp Sandusky is great! We stay here when visiting family in the area, usually at the start of the season. Because its so early there are very few campers before Memorial day, which suits us fine. I am sure it gets busy for the Cedar Point season, and it looks to be a great spot for families, Well shaded, ample camp sites, plenty of hookups, primitive and cabin sites available. It provides a nice woodsy camping experience yet close to town and the attractions. Nice staff and relatively quiet.

We camped here to visit with Family and Cleveland Clinic Dr visit. Reservation was smooth and easy along with checkin. Family visits were great with campfire, children’s playground, and swimming! Doctoring changed our schedule and we had to visit Mike in office 3 times with different reservations at Camp Sandusky. Staff worked hard and diligently to accommodate us and make sure we could stay to get Cleveland Clinic appointments made. The way they worked at schedule and make sure we had a place to stay really took pressure off us and so much appreciated during our medical challenges. Showers and restrooms were very clean and serviceable! One stop and you’ll be a repeat camper as we are!

I stayed for 4 days. Very nice very clean. The only complaint i have is my family was placed right next door to a group very young adults who played mysic loudly until 3 or 4 an every night they was there. But, the cabins are very insulated. It wasn't that bad. I feel the park should have kept with there 11 to 7 guit time, for the rest of park. There are also tent campers there. I'm sure it was annoying for them. But I will definitely be back.

Amenities/bathrooms/showers are atrocious. No water pressure and the cement floors are pretty grosse. Pool was okay - could use some paint so it doesn't look continuously dirty even though it actually wasn't.

The park features playgrounds suitable for all ages, including a handicap-friendly area and a serene beach with unique stones and beach glass to discover. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the paths, have picnics with family and friends, or engage in sports at the tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts available.
I have been coming here for the past 3 months to do my daily walks toward my physical therapy. The bathrooms are cleaned every morning and the pic nic areas are always clean, as well. It is always so peaceful and beautiful here. Here are just a couple of my favorite pics I took on 1 of my visits.
Teena N — Google review
The park itself looks like it would be so much fun for toddlers and young children. There's also a lot of open areas and even a small part where you can stand at the edge of the lake. I'm not sure if it's normal or not but there seemed to be hundreds of fish that washed ashore along the beach area by the lake.
E. ( — Google review
Love the park, I don’t check it out enough. Lots of fun areas for play and kids playground, there are pavilions for bbq and picnic/party events. The access to water is beautiful and a wonderful spot for a photo. This visit I was a bit disturbed by the swarm of midges that came after me and my dog, but otherwise lovely.
Heather F — Google review
Great park for kids lots of playground areas. Nice view of the lake. Picnic areas look well maintained. Public restrooms were clean.
Lora C — Google review
I’d give this place a 2 1/5 star review. Let’s start with the points I gave. So it’s quiet and in a decent part of town. It has 3 different play areas, (I’d say 4 but one “play area” is fake grado of rock and a couple tunnels but it has signs all over the place saying no play due to pesticide spraying). It’s close to the water for a Great Lake view and finally there are plenty of tables, benches and 2 shelter houses. Now what made this park loose points. It’s not kept maintained at all. The park areas are covered in trash. There’s goose poop all over the place I get it when it comes to the grass areas but this included the stairs to the playground and all over the “slash pad”. If the splash pad isn’t running you can’t tell where it is. ( It’s located between the larger play area and the restroom, identified by the short red pole). The beach area is small and not really a beach. More just for the view not for fun purposes. The kids had fun of course but not somewhere we would spend hours at. I don’t know how to add photos or I would.
Samantha P — Google review
Google searches beaches this one came up as nice rocks beach glass. Was nothing like that at all it's a park and the beach is crushed asphalt. For the park it was nice.
William A — Google review
Calm and natural location. Best place in the area for a quiet couple hours. There are no 'cruisers' like the other area parks. Superior walking trail that is well maintained. Water front, open areas and shelters.
Roger S — Google review
Nice little area but there were so many dead fish washed up on the beach and more dead fish floating in the water.

The Facer Park in Sandusky includes a series of sculptures and displays commemorating the city's efforts in the Underground Railroad. It is a peaceful area to rest for one hour or more and there are restaurants nearby.
A beautiful tribute to those who fought for freedom & a reminder that we all play a part in continuing in this fight for all people to be free. May God himself always give us courage & strength to speak and fight for those who need it.

A nice park with historical information about the Sandusky area's contribution for The Underground Railroad. People, places, ships and their captains all working together to help runaway slaves get to the safety of Canada. This park hosts a steel sculpture, information placks, some with pictures, a gazebo, flower gardens, ornamental trees, brick walkways, and benches. All surrounded by ample free parking. Close to restaurants, children's playground, and The Sandusky Shoreline. A great little park to sit, have a perch sandwich, and enjoy a view of the bay. And gee, you might learn something too. 👍😀

Want something fun to do with kids or feel like a Disney princess? This is it! Super friendly animals that you get to buy extremely reasonable price food and feed... Never experienced anything like this absolutely loved it went two days in a row!
Lisa C — Google review
My family and I had our first visit and had so much fun! The animals were super friendly and ready to snack! Prices were also very reasonable and family oriented. Can’t wait to visit all our deer friends again soon.
Kailyn T — Google review
What a fun and hilarious experience! The kids absolutely loved it. I was amazed by how the deer would do anything to get those snacks. Yes, they would snatch the bag right out of your hand! To calm them down from following us, we decided to put our bags in our pockets and feed them that way. Surprisingly, it worked! The llama, on the other hand, followed us no matter what. I think she was in love with my hubby.. It was as if she had joined us on our adventure! 😆 Last but not least, this petting zoo is clean! It didn’t smell at all, which was a first for us when visiting a petting zoo. ❤️
Shieva E — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience. You're not separated from the vast majority of the deer at all. Had a few following me pretty much the whole time I was there. They are, however, super greedy. They also have goats that are free roaming as well and a few other animals. That was really cool too.
Inspiration87 — Google review
This place is a hidden gem! For just $20-30$for two people, we got to feed and hang out with a bunch of silly, lovable animals—including deer that act like excited dogs, goats with attitude, and peacocks who clearly think they own the place (and honestly? They might). Everything about it was cute and fun. The animals were full of personality and not shy about coming up for snacks and attention. One of the best, most unexpectedly joyful ways I’ve spent $30 in a long time. Highly recommend if you like animals, smiling, and making new four-legged friends.
Jon — Google review
We had a blast visiting with my son. The animals looked healthy and happy. Many animals happily roaming around freely to be pet and fed. Loved the variety in deer and feeding the friendly eager animals.

Nice park good place to walk around in. Got a little kids forest with some forts and things set up. There's a dog walking area that's fenced in for dogs and their owners. There's a place for the kids to play special musical type instruments outdoors. There's also a playground once you walk around the park. The park was clean and well-kept
David J — Google review
We went for an evening walk at Osborne Park. Many great trails here, both inside the woods and out in the exposed fields. We have hiked here before and was able to get about 8 miles in. All the trails are very well maintained, mowed, and paved. Just make sure you stay on the trail due to ticks being bad this year. Don't forget bug spray, mosquitoes can get a bit bad in the wooded areas.

Nice clean big play areas for smaller and bigger kids. soccer fields and a big walking track. Couple picnic pavilions and bathrooms are sparse, only two at ends of park but have running water (be aware at least north ones close in cold seasons). Usually kids at both play areas. Lots of parking even on days there is are soccer games usually. Few animals at a barn across street strictly look only.

Park
Strickfaden Park offers a variety of amenities for visitors to enjoy. The play area is designed like a ship and features a mommy and swing, as well as dual curly slides for kids to race down. Additionally, there are charming features such as a gazebo, pavilion, and clean bathrooms. The park also boasts paved trails that are perfect for leisurely walks with or without your leashed dog.
I love the paved walking trails. They have sturdy iron benches at intervals for those of us with asthma or arthritis to rest for a few minutes before finishing the loop. There’s a short 5 minute loop and a longer 15 minute loop. There might even be a third loop we’ve never taken that’s an even longer interval. If you’re out of shape, disabled, or just older and can’t do long walks, this is a safe place to come and get in some steps while enjoying the beautiful sky and birds in a woodland/meadow setting. The path also seems wheelchair accessible for those who use assistive aids for mobility. It’s even pet friendly and well-behaved friendly dogs on leashes are frequently seen with their owners; it’s nice to have a reason to smile and say “hi”. Plenty of free parking. Public restroom shelter. Gazebo. Playground.

Almost to the city's western limits you'll find this city park on a more country type road. Hosting a picnic shelter with tables, restrooms, children's playground with climbing obstacles, swings, baseball fields with bleachers, big shade trees, benches, and free off street parking.
