If you're looking for a beach to relax and enjoy the ocean this is the spot. Tons of room for kids to play and not bother others, people to watch surf, and the best part is a clean public restroom and outdoor shower/rinse area! One of the best beach locations I've ever been to, to just relax!

Love the Strand, its my neighbor. Being from Wyneme I like to change it up a little. Lovely beach, clean and great view of the channel islands.

Wonderful white sandy beach. When we visited in December 2024 there were 30+ seals every day at the North end near the harbour. Parking was closed one day but plenty of street parking nearby.

Free parking, but the lot is on the small side. Clean beach with fine sand making for a pleasant walk. Full of marine life which makes for an interesting day: seals, many playful dolphins, & pelicans to name a few. Stayed all day and we all (kids & adults) really enjoyed this beach!

Absolutely a beautiful, peaceful place.

Nothing like standing in the surf at your home beach. We're all surrounded by water and waves for 9 months before were born and are used to that rhythm of our mother's heartbeat pushing those waves around us... standing in the water with the waves pulsing around my legs is Mother Earth trying to ground me and slow me down. Simply put, the rhythm of those waves I was surrounded by at the Strand was slower, but that's exactly what I needed. It's good to come home and have that hard re-set.

Awesome place to visit with family for picnic or outing

This beach was not bad at all, very wide and lots of space in the shore. they have a big parking lot as well as parking on the street, only thing that sucked was they didn’t have any restrooms or showers to rinse off, other than that it was cool 😎

This place is always so chill and love it! Not really a place to collect big sea shells and there's a lot of wood debris. Other then that this place once you find a set spot you can fall asleep all day here.

Its a nice beach with strong waves,i went to this beach Saturday morning. i noticed if you walk up and down the beach you will find dead seals, and dolphins. Be careful when you walk over the sand because there is dry oil.

Lovely beach with sand dunes, year round great weather and the amazing California coast water. Check local news for any do not swim hazards, and water quality. Enjoy the beach, for those with melanin deficiencies, remember that the sun is a deadly laser and you are advised to bring sunblock. Please choose an SPF rating that is suitable for your individual melanin deficiency. Handy tip; Red hair = low melanin levels so higher SPF ratings.

Great beach. Came here on a Sunday morning to have a picnic with family. Not too busy in the morning and afternoon. Played some volleyball as they provide the net at the beach. The restroom was hard to find but the restaurant next to the beach has public restrooms you can use and they are clean. No lifeguard on duty. Nice place to also walk by the seashore.

This is a perfect place to walk, run, or bike. The pathways along the harbor have you engaged with boats and great looking landscapes along the way...occasionally you'll see some sea animals.

This is the access point to a 20,000,000 acre backyard. Paddle board, kayak, fish, swim, surf, hike, or anything you like to do around water. The crowds are very manageable in spite of the awesome location. On Sunday they have a farmers market that can get busy but the incredible local strawberries are worth it. The ocean is filled with sea life as well. the pic is of a harbor seal that couldn't stay off of my SUP . I'd scare him off and a minute later he'd hop right back up and in a few seconds back to sleep he went. Great place to visit for sure. Hotels, restaurants are plenty and it is a great break from the LA crowd and heat.

One of my favorite places in Ventura county. Plenty of parking, good restaurants and cafes. It's an excellent option for walking or hanging out with kids (riding a scooter or walking). Additionally, the farmers market on Sundays mornings are amazing and highly recommend.

went here for the 4th of July and the fire works show was a flop!! never even got to see the show they were 47 minutes late with the show

Secluded beach, great for the quiet moment to enjoy, windy though, water was very cold in mid June.

Nice Park to walk along the beach. I've come here a lot and it's never crowded. There's one pier and a couple of permanent concrete structure bathrooms. it looks like another structure is a restaurant.

Was a fantastic family beach with picnic tables and built in small BBQ pits . Halfway to the beach and far enough from the ocean, but close enough to keep an eye on your kids. Even had trash cans right next to them. Guess this made too much work for the city, employees (Parks and rec.) and the stupid people that ruin these with vandalism and graffiti. So that might be the reason why they did away with them.

You can catch crabs on the trestle bridge. The beach is very big and the sand is very fine. The water is clear and the waves are big. It’s a really nice beach. We bought a local spider crab for $20. It’s delicious 😋

A really fantastic museum. Klaus provided a really interesting and informative tour! If you have an hour or so, please give this your time. It was well worth the visit!

I visited Channel Islands Maritime Museum on 9/27/25 and had a great experience. There is a ton of amazing artwork and models of ships from our history. We were given a free tour from Earl and he is what made this experience so great, he is full of knowledge on every display he showed us as well had a few personal stories that related to the displays. I would recommend Channel Islands Maritime Museum to everyone, you do not need to be into sailing and ships to enjoy this museum. Shoutout to Earl! 😁

The staff and the place are both incredibly nice! It's a wonderful location to delve deeper into the fascinating world of sailing history and to cultivate an appreciation for the arts. And to top it all off, there's even a breathtaking view of sea lions at the back of the building, and they are simply adorable!

Mr. Kushner a museum volunteer gave us a personal tour of the museum. He was careful to explain the model ships and paintings with such detail and nuance. My 6 year old son Jake later said Mr. Kushners tour was a highlight of the California trip.

Wow! What a gem of a place! Make the time to get into see this amazing collection of paintings and ship models. Such an extraordinary opportunity to see this history with a knowledgeable staff. Vivian walked us through the tour and made it so engaging and loved seeing her favorite pieces along with a fun hunt to answer the questions on pieces. The details on these models will take your breath away. The paintings are striking. Just a wonderful place!

Loved our experience at the Maritime Museum! The staff are friendly and welcoming, they offer to tour you around or let you peruse on your own. When we had a question about the model ships, Mary was very knowledgeable and informative. Downstairs is various paintings and models, upstairs is more informative and hosts art exhibits. I highly recommend this cute spot to know more of the history and appreciate the artwork from the past! (And do ask the staff questions, they love sharing facts and history!)

Some of the best volunteers, friendly, very knowledgeable. Vast knowledge on the beautiful exhibits they have there. Lots of beautiful paintings. Was pleasantly surprised at how much beautiful art they have. Went for my birthday and was very happy and it made my birthday great and my week even better. A great place I'll be back enjoying again soon

This review is only for the Needham Theater that is located on the Naval Base, since this is the only part of the Naval Base that I was able to see/experience. The theater is a good size and has great sound quality. However, the screen seemed a little too small for the size of the movie theater and it definitely needs an upgrade. There are snacks and drinks available for purchase, so you get to experience the movie like you would at any other movie theater and are cheaper. The service at the concession stand was very slow and caused a long line to accumulate. The restrooms are clean and each restroom does have a Koala Kare diaper changing station.

Great RV camp stop. The restrooms are cleaner than most hotels. Beautiful unspoiled beach. Check in was easy. Friendly long-term campers made you feel welcome and at home. Wildlife sightings are amazing.

Saw an air show here. Show was great; food was expensive, and there was absolutely nowhere to refill a water bottle - so $4 bottles were the only choice. Even so, it's a Naval Base and not an air show venue, plus these folks are heavily armed so they're getting 5 stars from me :)

Very helpful, down to earth and easy to communicate with. Everyone there was very helpful and caring when out Golden was ill and needed antibiotics. We have left the area and they are still providing some follow-up advice and continued medications. GREAT people and GREAT care.

Lived here for 7 years as a dependent . My dad was in the navy . Pt.Mugu has The best surf in so cal. The Point breaks killer summer south swells. Worked at the officers club met president Reagan and the Bushes one of the best times of my life 70s -80s Gnarly for sure!

Great Naval Station. Stationed there mid 1976 to mid 1980. Worked part time as an off base construction site security guard. Volunteered at the local mental health center working with residents learning to do basic assembly of party noisemakers. Only downsides while I was there were small commissary, small medical facility (I had appendicitis and had to drive myself the Port Hueneme hospital and had to change a flat tire half way there in the rain) and then there was the 1980 base flood. I ended up going through worse later, like the NAS Cubi Point disaster in 1991 when Mt Pinatubo exploded. So in retrospect, Pt Mugu was a good time.

Friendly military base with the best beaches. There is a gas station, mini mart , gym, swimming pool, cafes, 2 rvparks and hotel. Keep in mind that most of theses services are only available to miltary members.

The food was pretty dang decent, but like others pointed out, the drinks were watery at best. We tried two different cocktail and while the flavor was good, they were definitely weak. It might be good to return and sample some of the other foods, but skip the drinks next time.

The best seafood restaurant I’ve ever been to! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was amazing, with great live music that made the evening even more special. The appetizers were authentic and full of the true flavors of Brazil. So fresh and tasty!! Moqueca really brings the taste of Brazil to life, and I can’t wait to come back!

Nice view. Very good food, . . . except. The drinks were very weak or watered down and flavorless, and there was not enough pasta in the seafood linguini (maybe that’s a good thing???). I quite literally ran out of pasta before the seafood by a long shot. I had an espresso martini that didn’t taste like coffee at all, and there was very weak or little vodka. It tasted more like a cold hot chocolate. The other specialty drink from the menu (I don’t know which one was ordered ) was also weak and watered down. We didn’t complain because our server was very nice. Needless to say, our next drinks were beer and wine. The music was nice and came from some Yamaha speakers that I have other experience with. A good sounding system. Our server was very thorough and on top of her game. Subtleties in her performance were noted by me as being rather refined. I don’t remember her name, but she was very good. Yes, the hot chili oil is outstanding. Dicks

Wife loved the feijoada, meat skewers were delicious . The location was great and we enjoyed being able to watch the harbor. The only downside is maybe it was a little pricey for what we got. But again it was delicious and reminded my wife of her time in Brazil.

We had a wonderful dinner at Moqueca! The view is a perfect 10, the environment is warm and inviting, and the caipirinhas were spot on. The food was absolutely delicious: full of flavor and cooked perfectly. I came specifically for the sea bass and shrimp moqueca, but our order came out with just the sea bass. Even though it wasn’t exactly what I had asked for, it was so tasty that I didn’t mind. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, although she did mix up the flavor of my caipirinha as well. Despite those small details, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would definitely come back!

Moqueca was amazing. The food was on point and service was great. Would highly recommend the Brazilian beef stroganoff. We also got the fish moqueca and that was delicious. As someone with shellfish allergies, I was able to find delicious food and I believe there was no cross contamination since each dish is made individually.

We came to this restaurant with a simple goal: to celebrate a family member’s birthday with a nice meal. Unfortunately, what we experienced instead was one of the most disappointing and frustrating dining experiences we’ve ever had. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty—with only two or three other tables seated—our food never arrived. We waited for over two hours, politely checking in with staff multiple times, only to eventually be told that our order had never been put in. No explanation, no urgency—just repeated reassurances that turned out to mean nothing. We had informed the staff early on that we were on a schedule due to a boat tour later that evening. As the time passed and our plans fell apart, it became clear that no one was taking our concerns seriously. When we asked for the food to be packed to-go, the restaurant initially agreed and offered to comp the meals as an apology for the delay and oversight. But after another 15-minute wait, someone returned to inform us they had changed their minds and we would now need to pay for the food that we had never received. The complete lack of accountability was shocking. When we calmly expressed our frustration, we were told that we “needed to be more patient.” This was not a case of a busy kitchen or unexpected crowd—it was a nearly empty restaurant, and the issue was entirely due to disorganization and poor communication. This experience ruined what was supposed to be a meaningful celebration. The staff appeared unprepared, overwhelmed, and out of touch with even the most basic standards of service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I visited this restaurant in the evening of 11/2/25. It was my first time visiting and its going to be my last. I ordered the breaded shrimp plate ($21 for 6 small breaded shrimp, a spoonful of white rice, some 3/4 of the way steamed vegetables, lettuce and dices tomatoes). My order apparently was forgotten and was finally served when my party was half way thru their meal. The food wasn't really good. Most of it was bland, not too much flavor. Even the horchata I got to drink wasnt really good as well as the flan my family ordered. Somebody in my party ordered fish tacos and ended feeling bad and almost fainted afterwards. 911 had to be called and was driven to the hospital. The staff were helpful with calling 911 and helping in what they could with the person who wasn't feeling well. But other than that, I wouldn't recommend this place or return.

This is my go to spot for menudo. Great service, clean restaurant and a great way to start a Sunday!

We were here with a bunch of friends and I was full from the chips and salsas that they keep replenishing. I got the combination plate - got one chile relleno, one chicken enchilada and one taco al pastor which came with rice and beans. Everything was flavorful and yummy but couldn't finish because I loaded up on chips and salsas! The guac made table side was good too but oh so pricey!

We had a great time at Cabo's on our Anniversary Day. We both wanted to try it after a few recommendations and the fact that I used to work in that building in the late 70s when it was a Sizzler Steak House Restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was awesome. We had appetizers as well as our meal and ended it with dessert. They all came out in a timely manner. I would go again!

Esmeralda is the best server, My Mom and I love coming here. My Mom loves her chicken taco, and I like exploring the menu Everytime I go in. Esmeralda always treats us great. Definitely recommend this place.

I dined at Cabo 20 years ago. While visiting the area, recently, I went back. The food and drinks were every bit as good as it was 20 years ago. You can't go wrong going here.

Amazing place in Middle Oxnard in the winery itself. Very nice building and place with parking. Right off the freeway. After a nice refreshing salad to start the meal. We ordered the 40 oz. Prime rib which was amazing but too salty, but still we ate it all. They were so nice that they gave us dessert and coffee on the house and a peak into the winery. Definitely coming there again. Staff is great and very accommodating and nice.

This isn’t our first time dining at Tierra Sur, and it definitely won’t be our last. The food and service are consistently excellent. We started with the potato soup, which was rich and flavorful. For the second course, we tried the seabass tostada and the stuffed carpaccio—both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. For the third course, we had the ribeye, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Every dish feels carefully crafted, with fresh ingredients and a lot of attention to detail. The staff is attentive and friendly, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Tierra Sur is one of those rare places where you know you’ll always get a great meal.

The wine tasting was a great start to the evening with a variety of wine options. We purchased multiple bottles of delicious wine. Moving on to the Tierra Sur restaurant provided delicious meals supporting multiple dietary restrictions. The wine pairings with each dish were thoughtful and highlighted the flavors of each dish.

We visited today and unfortunately a lot of the menu items weren’t available, and due to my peanut allergy I was even more limited since most of what was left was fried in peanut oil. While that was disappointing, our experience was saved by our server, Kayly, who went above and beyond to make sure we still had a great time. She was friendly, attentive, and even treated us to some wonderful wine tastings, which really elevated our visit. Kayly is a true asset to the restaurant, and we greatly appreciated her outstanding service.

The restaurant is beautiful, and it’s nice to have such a lovely kosher place. However, unlike most of the reviews I read, our experience was disappointing. The prices are extremely high and do not justify the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the food itself was not enjoyable. I went with my three children, and not only did they not like the dishes, but there were even some items we couldn’t eat at all. Despite the long drive, the kids were hoping for a special experience, but it turned out to be simply terrible. The presentation was not particularly impressive either the same cherry sauce was used to decorate almost everything. At this price point, I would have expected something far more refined and memorable.

Traveling around the world and eating in many amazing restaurants rarely has me as surprised by how good Tierra Sur is! As a restaurant in a uncommon place for kosher restaurants it stands out in more than just exclusivity. From the 5 star service to the Exquisite taste ,everything was impeccable. Although the pictures attached are quite amazing, they do not do it justice of what it feels like to experience it in person. I cannot wait for my next trip back to Oxnard!

Dominick’s Italian Restaurant is fantastic! The pizza was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Sean was great to work with—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for quality Italian food and excellent service. Will definitely be back!

First time visit on a Sunday around 5pm and it was a nice time to arrive. There’s parking behind the building & plenty of seating inside. The food was delicious! Mood lighting for a romantic dinner if you would like to take a date there. My husband and I got two appetizers, one entrée to share, the dessert cheesecake, a side salad and two club sodas- We spent around $80. It was a nice, clean restaurant.

Dinner was awful. My lasagna was dry barley red sauceno flavor . What was crazy our server never came to out table once only to bring our food at that wasn't friendly. I noticed on our recipient we were charged 59.00 for tip 😳. Keep in my my waitress didn't come back to our table. I will not recommend this place. Olive garden was much better!

Great food. Hidden gem. Went with family. Reasonably priced. Decent portions. Great homemade bread. You can buy the bread to take home. The food was hot and good. We got salads, pizza, manicotti and shrimp scampi. Everything was good. Nice wine selection. The area was not the nicest and kinda hard to park but was a good meal. Will return.

The antipasto salad and meatballs were fantastic. We were a little disappointed with our Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp was way overcooked and rubbery, and the entire dish was cool. Plates they brought for us to share the Scampi on were also cold. Our 2 previous Scampi dinners were excellent. I didn't get our server's name tonight, but she was excellent.

Excellent old school Italian food in an interesting setting. Very industrial decor, but comfortable and homey at the same time. The tomato sauce is a primary criteria for any Italian restaurant, and Dominick's does not disappoint. The sauce has a delicious homemade taste, with no trace of bitterness. Wonderful. The eggplant parmesan was done with both mozzarella and ricotta, which was delicious, and the meatballs were excellent as well. We'll definitely go back again to try other dishes. Parking is in the back.

Many historic houses moved to this one area. All are being rented to businesses so you can only see the exteriors. Tours are available if you email then ahead to set it up. Free parking.

I had the opportunity to shoot a beautiful August wedding at Heritage Square, and it was an absolute dream. The little chapel was a gorgeous setting for the ceremony, the square itself was a perfect backdrop for the reception, and the garden surroundings created some stunning portraits! The style of the buildings in the square make it feel like you're living your own fairytale wedding day! I would highly recommend this venue, especially for summer brides looking for a outstanding experience!

I would like to see more vendors and more food trucks..it seemed that last year was far more busier.. I enjoyed the performance of the street theater from Los Angeles .. I had a great time! Please keep prices accessible..

Guys Friday free concert series are wonderful. Been coming ever Friday during the summer for years. I've met and made new friends. If you never been you must but next year's, see you all in 2026. God bless

Very beautiful photo spots for sister's wedding

This is a beautiful spot to spend an hour or a day exploring Victorian architecture and interesting local and national history. A comfy coffee shop with sandwiches and pastries, as well as a beautiful restaurant with a warm, inviting speakeasy in the basement, provide the perfect additions to the tour. Very artistic and high quality tees, puzzles, pins, etc at graphic artist shop I cannot find the name of online. Thanks for an amazing tour Gary!

We didn't take a guided tour, just picked up a bus and get there. It's great to find such a small, climatic place in the middle of the town, where you can sit down next to the fountain and take nice pictures.

Been here 6 days. Sunny, warm and a bit breezy. Campground mostly empty. The park is under water months of the year during the rainy season. A whole section of the park is closed even now. A lot of the vegetation is dead or dying because it's soggy ground. Available campsites are dry and well spread out in a circular pattern with trees or shrubs to give some privacy. Pay showers and free toilets. The ants will find a way into your food. Ground squirrels and seagulls too. Don't feed 'em. Grocery store nearby. Beautiful sunsets. Hear the waves. Ocean edge is about 1/3 mile west. Deserted beach even on weekends. Dump station closed.

McGrath Beach is a nice spot with beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere. The beach itself is clean and great for a quiet day by the water. However, parking can be limited, especially on weekends, and the facilities are somewhat basic. It’s a pleasant place to visit but doesn’t have a lot of extras or amenities that some other beaches offer. Worth a visit if you want a low-key beach experience.

Does the people of Ventura have the power to open this campground? Just asking, as Californians are known throughout the country for not pushing back against bad policy.

Good beach, not many people in the early morning

A good brewery. This is a place for 2-3 people to hang out. Not a place for big groups, not a lot of seating, but it’s got relaxed atmosphere. They brew their own beer but not a lot of choices. I asked the bartender for a citrussy type of beer similar to Bluemoon or Shocktop. She recommended the “Sea Hag”. It’s close but like most IPA’s are strong brews. Overall, it’s not bad! I’d probably come out on a Saturday or Sunday after a good surf sesh. 😁🤙

I absolutely love this place. They are friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. What a great local micro brewery. They only make and serve epic beers. You can bring your favorite foods or go next door and order takeout to enjoy with your favorite brew. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Excellent brewery! The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. He helped me choose from their selection of beers (9 on the day of my visit). I brought in my 64oz RTic growler and he washed and chilled it for me while I tried their brews and made my selection (a delicious rye/barley Roggenbier). I really appreciate this as some brewpubs will flat-out lie and say there's a state law that you can't recycle your own growler.

If you come to Oxnard, CA the nice place to visit is Red Tandem Brewery. It is a cozy place that gives you some comfort and a very good beer. The friendly Host Johanna helps you to feel good and enjoy the fabulous beer.

I came here with my nephew to check out the beer. They had 2 IPAs on tap. Both were good. Plenty of board games to play. We played chess and connect four. Plenty of seating. No food, but there was a pizza place next door. We were able to eat while consuming our drinks. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great beer. Definitely come back for another pint or two.

Had both the "So Cal Stout" and "Strawberry Fields Blonde". Both had significant fermentation flaws.

Definitely do not recommend Red Tandem Brewery. It was pretty dirty and just overall not a good experience. There just is no real reason to come here when you think about all the other options available. I just wouldn’t recommend it.

Hotel staff recommended the Shores Restaurant, and it had good reviews. Got there was only one guy (the GM) running the bar and floor. Hats off to him b/c his supervisor called in and was keeping the doors open. Shortly after we arrived, a large party came in. We ordered our food, and it came pretty quick. Fish was battered perfectly, and the dill tarter sauce was over the top. My wife had a burger and said it was very good. We ended up taking food back to the hotel. Had small talk with the GM, and he told us about live music the next day and invited us back. Unfortunately, we were only there for a day and heading g out. I highly recommend going here.

How does this place not have five stars?! I'll be honest - I did not expect that this little restaurant had much going for it other than the fact it's the only one within walking distance from Oxnard Shores homes. I'm not one for appetizers but our waitress really sold on their night's special, the BBQ CarniFlatbread. Hot, fluffy bread spread with tangy BBQ sauce generously topped with fresh, colorful bell peppers and juicy carne, beautifully arranged to appease the eyes and taste buds. Hot damn, this was an amazing flatbread. The BBQ sauce was so good! The perfect blend of sweet and spicy. 10/10 for this one. For my main course I ordered the Mac & Cheese. This dish is described on their menu as “pasta blessed with The Shore’s own secret dirty blonde cheese sauce. I wanted my bacon loaded ($14.00) but you can also get it Buffalo Style ($14.00) and traditional with roasted panko ($10.00). Oh my, blessed be this pasta. It was heavenly. Delectable soft, creamy cheese with hints of rich cheddar over perfectly cooked pasta that melts in your mouth. The bacon was an excellent addition although I would love the dish either way. I hope to try the Buffalo Mac next time I’m in! My husband was so impressed with the carne on the flatbread, he continued the affair with Carnitas Tacos (slow roasted carnitas, roasted corn, roasted bell pepper, onion, cilantro, feta cheese, chipotle aioli, $15.00). The dish came with two very loaded tacos. I think they could have scaled back on the feta cheese just a little. It was seriously heaping and covered the entire tacos. However, they were delicious! Insane flavor and soft, pillowy tortillas. You only need two to fill you up. 100% recommended! Our server was fantastic and very attentive. She kept the drinks coming fast! Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I truly did not expect them to blow it out of the water like they did. I can’t wait to go back!

First time trying The Shores Restaurant since I am new to the area. The place was packed but I was able to find a sit at the bar. I ordered the pretzel sticks, fish and chips along with a local amber beer. The food was really good and the bartender was busting his behind to get people served. I will definitely be back.

About average in all regards. Music was so loud the waitress had a hard time hearing us. I had the tri tip, pretty bland but it was cooked okay. Not terrible at all but not top tier.

Good food. The chicken sandwich was delicious. I really didn't like the skinny fries the were soft and soggy like. My son got the burger and said it was delicious and he had steak fries and said those were good. The service was very slow. I think they only had one server. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. And we never got our bill. We couldn't wait any longer, thankfully I had some cash on me. Not enough to tip very well though. We just left it on the table so we could leave. But the chicken sandwich was fantastic!

Food and drinks were great. Had a problem the second day though. I came in and was seated at the bar for over 20 mins and no one took my order. There on business and had a long day. I just left.

Came to this bar to support a friend's hot dog pop up. They had clean bathrooms, many games, and a great list of beers on tap. The bartenders were nice and attentive.

Love that they have some cool board games to play, along with the free popcorn! An outdoor patio area to smoke, and the beach weather to soak in too! Always a nice spot to drop by when by the strand.

Cute park with playground a few grills with picnic tables and tennis court. You can take a walk and enjoy the view of the harbor. The only thing I don't like is that there's no soap in the bathroom!!

Had my son's dad's celebration of life here and it was absolutely the perfect place that people that take care of the park are so nice and they were so good to us we really had a great time and no one gave us any problems all the people that walk their dogs there and live around there and guard the park sort of there is nothing that I can say about this park it is a blessed place

The Rudder Room on Hollywood Beach in Oxnard is a classic California dive bar. Sit inside and soak up the ambiance. Or better yet, step out the back door and watch the ocean or a few dozen sea lions cavort on the sand. There are three sand volleyball courts. But it’s fun just to sit back and enjoy the scenery with a cold one in hand and enjoy life. Bring cash for your tab. Plastic not welcome.

Great dive bar on the beach at the mouth of Channel Islands Harbor. Very reasonable....no food served, but they will allow you to order from the pizza place nearby, or you can bring your own food...no problem. Pool table and jukebox...chairs on the beach too...

The service is pretty quick and you can’t beat the view. Pool tables inside and sand volleyball court right outside the outdoor seating area. A good place to spend a chill evening.

We specialize in dive bars. What's a dive bar to me? No kitchen, no dress codes, opens before noon (6:30 AM preferred), friendly people, clean but not neat. This place is one, expect for opening time. Its hard to find without GPS because its not where a bar should be. That makes it special. Its a neighborhood bar among the homes. With a view of the Pacific Ocean, sunset, and a sandy area outside to gather. So I rated food average since there is none. But the view is the highlight

Great vibes, friendly folks, nice view of the beach, tasty drinks and snacks. Has pool tables and outdoor seating in the patio or on the beach (yes with your drinks!). My uncle participated in their St. Patrick's day events many years ago; the bartender remembered him and showed us pictures. If I lived there it would be my go-to neighborhood spot.

The farmers market started earlier than the times listed on the website, Google, and Yelp. We arrived around 930 a.m., and to our surprise, all the vendors were already set up and ready to welcome visitors. The atmosphere was lively, warm, and inviting, perfectly showcasing the best of Ventura County’s local produce. We thoroughly enjoyed browsing through a vibrant selection of fruits and vegetables, including fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, oranges, and some stunning artichokes—I've been happily snacking on the latter ever since! This market truly highlights the region’s bounty, offering a diverse array of seasonal produce and garden delights. Beyond the fresh fruits and veggies, there are plenty of baked goods, beautiful flowers, garden supplies, and arts and crafts vendors. It’s a fantastic place to discover unique items and support local artisans, making for a wonderful shopping experience.

Love this place! Some stalls can be quite pricey for handcrafted goods, but the fresh produce is very reasonable especially if it’s in season, also it tastes 1000x better than the produce from somewhere like Vons. The Brothers Hummus is also some of the best hummus I’ve ever had. Lots of spots to park and it’s right on the water, nice way to spend a Sunday morning!

It's smaller than the usual farmer markets, but it does have the usual items and products you would find at other places. The plus side is it is located next to the harbor, so you can go for a nice stroll after you're done shopping.

Honestly, this course deserves a lower rating than 4 stars. It would rate close to 2 stars if you go just based on how terrible the course is maintained. Vineyard course: On all holes with the exception of hole 13, there are NO ALIVE/GREEN GRASS IN THE FAIRWAYS. That being said, the fairways are flat and easy to hit from despite this shortfall. The upside is that your shots go further because the fairways are dry, so EGO BOOST!! ? :) The tee boxes… with the exception of the last holes and a couple others on the course, they all use DEAD grass. They don’t bother to use actual tee markers - they are PAINTED ROCKS. The rocks don’t bother me as much - I think it’s pretty inventive. Additionally, from blue tees some tee boxes are in very inconvenient places, but it is not a problem if you’re playing whites. Also, did I mention that the signs that show the hole numbers are sometimes wrong? This isn’t a big deal as it doesn’t make you get lost. The bunkers I played in were actually in good shape, so not complaints there. REAL SAND!!! :) Now, the only part about this course that was in decent condition were the putting greens and fringe. It is the ONLY part of the course consistently watered so that it is GREEN. However, greens are pretty slow… Theoretically, if you were playing from 25 yards, you would be playing the only part of the course properly maintained… Now, the reason why I rate this place 4 stars is because the staff is EXTREMELY FRIENDLY. The starter who was working Sunday 7/28 was extremely helpful in giving us a warning that the gates would be closing close to the time sun sets and kept the pace of play decent. The person in pro shop was also nice. So, Staff is 5/5. Also, the last hole is an ISLAND GREEN!! Really cool and rare for a public golf course! Overall it’s a tough course because of wind as well, affects your shots a lot. I also like the layout too - challenging. Also, it’s cooler here in the summer. If the grass were in better condition, this course would be one of the better public courses in the area.

We were lucky enough to enjoy both courses, but I was still embarrassed that the wrong sign on the 17th hole of the Vineyard course was not corrected. It's so funny and ridiculous. The fairway and hole green management status was simple, but it is understandable compared to the low price. It was a beautiful course, but it is a pity to manage it.

River Ridge Vineyards course was everything we expected based on what we paid. The weather was Perfect, the staff was the best and we really enjoyed the day!!

6 hr Round! Painfully slow Golf. Pro shop won’t answer the phones. Greens are as long as the bushes.. bad. course has a great design, but is in terrible shape. Would never come back again, even if it were free.

Course is in better shape than the other reviews let on. Based on the other reviews It made me not want to play. Course plays long from the tips, the greens as slow. Challenging but fun track. I didn't hate it and would play again.

Decent course. Reasonable prices. Played a weekday round with cart for $58. The area had gotten a lot more rain than normal recently. Crew was a bit behind on mowing. Greens rolled great. They have fully recovered from punching roughly 6 weeks ago. Rough was tall. Lots of cut grass piled up. Huge 36 hole property. So the grounds crew has a lot to keep up with. Worth the price. I played the vineyard course.

Played the Vineyard Course on 9/28. I am shocked at what horrible shape this course is in. Greens were long and shaggy and about 20 on the Stimpmeter, new collars around the greens were like playing out of 1" deep rough. Fairways had not been mown for at least a week. Huge clumps of fescue growing out of the short fairway grass. All rough areas were very deep and covered in grass clippings everywhere. I'm not sure what's going on, but they are overwatering the turf and not mowing it frequently enough. The 5-1/2 hour round added insult to the poor playing conditions. Not worth the $71 I paid...this course used to be great. Considering heavy play and high green fees, where is the money going? Not to course maintenance. This gets 1 star for playability.

Ordered a couple beers a half Order of DUI fries and played some pool. The total came out to $68 I went ahead and tip the waitress in cash more than a fair amount. When I went to check the charge on my card the next morning which was Sunday the 29th of December the charge was for $81. So the waitress took my cash tip and then went ahead and tipped herself out 20% more on my card without my knowledge. I now have to file a police report. I had a good time too now I will never be coming back here if this is how they treat customers, robbing them of their money.

Very cool and chill vibe. Great staff and customer service. Got the wings dry rub with Teriyaki bbq sauce, mango habanero, and ranch which was a great combo for me. Wings were crispy with a tasty coating and moist in the inside, highly recommend the dry rub wings. Onion rings were good too.

Great little spot in the middle of oxnard. Quality pool tables and great beer and food selection. Definitely a local bar, but unless you're a scrub, this place is fantastic. Close to base for the brethren in uniform. You will be welcome as long as you behave. We know how we can be.

This is the best bar in Oxnard. I always did think that. They have a nice outdoor patio that's enclosed where you can smoke or vape or just enjoy the outdoor scenery with the plants and stuff. There's a wooden fence lining the area making everything enclosed. It's quite nice.

The site is currently under renovation. The work previously did not bother me (electricians running lines etc) but today they are ripping up the floor with jackhammers etc. OK to be expected for construction work. What bothers me is that I ordered a Bacardi coke, and the bar has been out of Silver Bacardi for 4 days now. Moving on.. Any aviation enthusiast out there if you would like to experience the sound of an F-14 jet, come here to the MENS bathroom. Ladies your invited also, but you will need an escort to enter the mens bathroom (something about laws that is out of scope of this post) . *** WARNING EXTREME DANGER OF HEARING LOSS *** to activate the F-14 simulator, simply cover your ear with one hand and with the other hand place it under the *XLERATOR* hand dryer and prepare to get BLOWN away. KATRINA victims need not apply. To end this post on a happy note, The outside patio is a nice quite space and I believe you can even smoke cigarettes there.

We had a good visit here. However, we didn’t realize it was more of a private beach. Only 2 other people were there at the time. It is kind of chilly and I couldn’t find a single sea shell. That was disappointing. Will find a different beach in the future to visit that has more attractions. I thought Hollywood Beach would have more glitz and glamour!

Beautiful scenery, saw dolphins and played with a seal in the whole swimming. Plenty of space on the beach for a calm and relaxing experience

Cool beach. It is small but has a area to set up on the sand and this area of the beach has no waves. It's a kiddie beach. If you walk out it does get deep but the first part is low and no waves for kids. I like this because I just like sitting in the water like a swimming pool. Free parking and a lil market close by. Weekends this place gets packed. Parking is small but worth it if you have lil kids. It's also near the harbor entrance so you get to see boats come in and out.

This has potential to be popular only problem is some of the Bartenders seem to ignore women who they don't know. I like to go here on way home or when I'm the driver for people I know who are drinking. I come to have a soda. I have stopped telling people to go here. The Bartenders who are here now totally ignore me when I come in. Tonight I timed her 12min. Only reason she finally served me was because 3 guys came in and she had to go by me to serve them. I still tip the dollar. The old bartender was friendly and polite enough to not charge for the soda designated drivers should have soda for free as long as they at least tip.

So to be fair, I gave the place 5 stars because of the service, which was great. I gave the atmosphere a 3 because it was a place for someone under 30, not like myself. Just here in Oxnard visiting and the two security guards raised my concerns. 3 pool tables, tons of big screens and great drinks.

This is actually Little Scorpian Anchorage on Santa Cruz Island at Sunset and moonrise. Beautiful spot and a little kayaking gives you sea caves, beaches and Scorpian campground & trails

We had a great time at the Channel Islands car show. On the way in, there were a lot of vendors selling food, jewelry, clothing, some really cute things. Saw some awesome cars - relaxed, happy people

Delightful spot, but not really a park in the traditional sense. More like a lovely beach by a breakwall, where the breakwall includes visible pieces of a large shipwreck from the 466 ft cruise ship La Jenelle, which hit the shore in 1970. I've been in the area many times, but finally made my way out to see what it was really like. Getting to the spot proved to be a challenge, because Google Maps navigation directions kept trying to take me through the military base, which isn't a thoroughfare for civilian tourists. After putting my faith in one of Google's finest apps twice, I gave up, looked at the location, backtracked to my starting point and found the spot. Look for "199-101 Sawtelle Ave, Oxnard, CA 93035" in Google Maps for parking, then once you arrive, walk along the paved path to the ocean, then across the sand to to the breakwall, passing numerous painted murals along the wall fronting the military base along the way. Once you get to the breakwall, meander along the rocks, looking down to the water to see the remains of the shipwreck. The other parts of the shipwreck that didn't become part of the breakwall were towed out to sea and dumped, making for interesting scuba dive sites.

I went here recently and it was a really pretty and secluded beachfront park. There is not much park, per se, but I really enjoyed it. There is a pretty mural as well!

Wonderful wide beach, attractive to both surfers and sunset watchers. Consider yourself lucky to find parking.

Occasionally open for parking at the further end of Silverstrand, but often over run with sand. The murals are beautiful when they aren't tagged up. The best part is going during a negative tide and checking out the sea life on the rocks.

We have visited here from 2009. So many changes. 90% not for the better. We've finally said, thank you for the good memories. I won't be back for a long while.

Back in 1994 I attended an airframe and powerplant school to get ready for the written test ! I have been going to this base since 1968 when I first saw the blue angles flying F4s as a kid I am now 65 and retired after a 30+year career in aviation.

Easy to get to. Street parking (limited). The swings and playground is rusted and not well maintained (I do realize it is very tough to maintain equipment that close to the ocean)

Local beach park with 1/2 court basketball, swings, and kids play equipment. Trash containers (please use them) and limited parking. Nice view of the channel islands on a clear day. No toilets or lifeguards.

Perfect little park for the kids. We rented a double survey from Wheels Fun Rental at Embassy Suites and took the kids here.

Awesome place to go boogie boarding and fun place to swim. Some sea lions every once and a while. And be careful for stingrays. My son once got stung, not a fun time. Also lots of surfing schools, if you're kids is interested, it could be cool. Friendly lifeguard's and overall amazing
