State Parks
Oxnard State Beach Park is a beloved destination in Oxnard, offering a wide stretch of sandy beach lined with picturesque palm trees and rolling dunes. The park features picnic areas, grassy lawns, and paved trails that lead to the Oxnard State Park. Families with children can enjoy the playful sea-themed playgrounds adorned with giant sculptures of marine creatures. This vibrant coastal area attracts surfers, sunbathers, and those seeking breathtaking sunset views.
Oxnard Beach State Park is truly a slice of coastal paradise. Nestled between Ventura and Malibu, this park offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, with its wide sandy beaches, lush greenery, and tranquil ocean views. From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of calm as the cool sea breeze greets you and the sound of waves gently crashing fills the air. The park is perfect for a relaxing day outdoors, whether you’re strolling along the well-maintained pathways, enjoying a picnic with friends and family, or simply sitting on one of the benches to take in the breathtaking views of the Pacific. The sand dunes and ice plant-covered landscapes create a beautiful, natural backdrop that makes every moment feel like a postcard. What makes Oxnard Beach truly special is how uncrowded and peaceful it is. You can walk for miles along the beach, with palm trees swaying overhead, and not feel overwhelmed by crowds. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or solo adventurers looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. The sunsets here are magical—watching the sun dip below the horizon, casting hues of gold and orange over the water, is an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re biking, jogging, flying kites, or just enjoying a peaceful walk, Oxnard Beach State Park offers something for everyone. It’s a hidden gem along the coast, where the beauty of California’s beaches can be enjoyed in a quiet and relaxed setting. I highly recommend visiting this magical place—you’ll leave feeling refreshed, recharged, and connected to the natural world.

This beach was not bad at all, very wide and lots of space in the shore. they have a big parking lot as well as parking on the street, only thing that sucked was they didn’t have any restrooms or showers to rinse off, other than that it was cool 😎
Anthony G — Google review
We followed a small walking trail to the beach. It Has a nice parking lot. No one was here. Ocean wave is calming. First time got and learn about beach tar..

This is a beautiful beach, great to walking.
Juan L — Google review
This place is always so chill and love it! Not really a place to collect big sea shells and there's a lot of wood debris. Other then that this place once you find a set spot you can fall asleep all day here.
Maria E — Google review
Its a nice beach with strong waves,i went to this beach Saturday morning. i noticed if you walk up and down the beach you will find dead seals, and dolphins. Be careful when you walk over the sand because there is dry oil.
Geovanni R — Google review
Lovely beach with sand dunes, year round great weather and the amazing California coast water. Check local news for any do not swim hazards, and water quality. Enjoy the beach, for those with melanin deficiencies, remember that the sun is a deadly laser and you are advised to bring sunblock. Please choose an SPF rating that is suitable for your individual melanin deficiency. Handy tip; Red hair = low melanin levels so higher SPF ratings.

Great beach. Came here on a Sunday morning to have a picnic with family. Not too busy in the morning and afternoon. Played some volleyball as they provide the net at the beach. The restroom was hard to find but the restaurant next to the beach has public restrooms you can use and they are clean. No lifeguard on duty. Nice place to also walk by the seashore.

Peninsula Park is a charming local park in Oxnard, nestled along Channel Island Harbor, offering tranquil surroundings and beautiful harbor views. The park features a children's playground with various play equipment to keep kids active and entertained. Additionally, there are two tennis courts available for friendly matches while enjoying the scenic harbor outlook. During the summer months, the park hosts weekly concerts, adding to its lively atmosphere. Visitors can also take advantage of amenities such as walking paths and picnic areas.
The Old Hotel is Creepy…. Please Oxnard, put those developers to work and revitalize the whole harbor again…. Would love to always visit a welcoming and fully functioning harbor area. I wonder what the wait is to fix this Peninsula and the Wharf. Please fix Channel Islands Harbor, this hotel area sucks but the surrounding areas are nice. 😊🤙🏼

Cute park with playground a few grills with picnic tables and tennis court. You can take a walk and enjoy the view of the harbor. The only thing I don't like is that there's no soap in the bathroom!!
Maira — Google review
Had my son's dad's celebration of life here and it was absolutely the perfect place that people that take care of the park are so nice and they were so good to us we really had a great time and no one gave us any problems all the people that walk their dogs there and live around there and guard the park sort of there is nothing that I can say about this park it is a blessed place

Mandalay State Beach, located at the end of Oxnard's West 5th Street, offers a glimpse into California's natural and romantic coastal beauty. This wild beach is deliberately kept undeveloped to preserve its untamed state and is adjacent to the expansive Mandalay County Park, which serves as a sanctuary for the region's delicate dunes, dune plants, wildlife, and nearby wetlands.
The park is clean and desirable

Rio Lindo Park is a lovely and spacious park that offers various activities for families and individuals. The park features a well-maintained running track, tennis courts, basketball nets, playground, workout gym, and open green spaces with plenty of benches. Visitors can enjoy walking, exercising, or simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. The park also provides rental spaces for parties at accessible prices.
Nice park. But the timer for irrigation goes off when me and other neighbors are running on the track. It would be nice if the park attendance could set it for midnight. Also the track for running is well taken care of. But the is a big hole that needs to be fix. I have tripped many times on that one spot. It would be nice if they could fix it before some old folk fall because of that section.

I participate in tai chi for seniors at this beautiful, clean park. Very family-friendly! It's a wonderful neighborhood park!

Del Sol Park is a community park that offers various amenities such as athletic fields, open grassy lawns, picnic areas with BBQs, and a playground. It's a great place for outdoor activities and family gatherings. However, there are some concerns about the condition of the jogging trail's foam which may pose a safety risk to users. Despite this issue, visitors can enjoy the open field for playing and nearby stores add convenience to the overall experience.
Very Great Place! Can do a lot of fun stuff! an Open Field to play their is also stores near it and lots of places to play definitely recommend coming here 😊✨❤️🤩
Eret — Google review
It could be much cleaner.. I dont let me kids play cause it always smells like pee.. The men who hang out there pee outside of the restrooms
Nellie B — Google review
Yes play ground and restrooms and picnic area
Nothing D — Google review
The park is pretty safe but the jugging trail's foam is tearing off already. That last part can be a bit dangerous for those exercising.
Pollo M — Google review
Del sol park is not a bad park yet you have alot of transits around and people with drug addictions. I was there today with the neighborhood community gathering. It was awesome to see people from the community interacting amongst each other and children participating as well. This year there was face painting, id's being made for children, CDR and Ventura County Federal Credit Union giving out information and free useable bags. Everything was free and the community was united.
Suzi M — Google review
Do not recommend the playground area. It is very dirty. The whole playground is full of grime, thought it was just the paint chipping but no it’s just filthy.
Hector R — Google review
Nice little park during the day but stay away during the evening hours and at night especially, there has been FAR too many stabbings and violence here and around this park. A lot of sketchy people standing here in the dark, for the safety of others, avoid it here.
Eddie R — Google review
I never go to this park.. but drive by it every now an then ...I always see people walking around it or laying in the grass ....over the years I've heard of a few shootings by that park so personally wouldn't want to go walk around it ..

Harbor View Park is a fantastic spot to unwind and enjoy free summer concerts. It's a favorite place for leisurely walks, with opportunities to watch sea lions and admire the ocean view. The park also hosts an annual Father's Day car show and offers a pleasant ocean breeze, diverse wildlife, and nearby dining options. Whether you're there for the music, the scenery, or just to take a relaxing stroll along the marina, Harbor View Park has something for everyone to enjoy.
My fur babies favorite place to walk. He loves chasing squirrels and watching the sea lions.

Channel Islands Harbor is situated on the picturesque coast of Oxnard, California and offers a variety of activities for visitors seeking both relaxation and adventure. It's a popular destination in Oxnard, with opportunities for kayaking, paddle boarding, diving, fishing charters, and whale-watching during migration seasons. The harbor boasts stunning views and a pleasant pathway along the water's edge. Additionally, there are several good restaurants nearby where visitors can enjoy delicious meals after their waterfront adventures.
Addictive outlet to disconnect and relish the fresh air. There are multiple channels to traverse by water or land. Popular destination for all vessels, especially paddling through the channel. Pleasurable walks or bike riding is a welcoming pastime for those that enjoy the outdoors. There is a weekly Sunday Farmers Market, and other activities throughout the year (4th of July Parade with Fireworks, Christmas Parade of Lights with Fireworks, multiple cars shows, music Concerts by the Sea, Steph’s Rockin Roadshow playing on the water for Labor Day, etc.). It still has that relatively small feeling, which hopefully never becomes commercialized. There are a couple really good restaurants and bars to take in the scenery. Back in the day, it was a place for celebs to retreat from society and the studios for a mini vacay, but fortunately now, it’s just a place for all to enjoy.
Beach B — Google review
Great restaurants, places to walk and bike, local food trucks and more!
Tabitha Y — Google review
This is a perfect place to walk, run, or bike. The pathways along the harbor have you engaged with boats and great looking landscapes along the way...occasionally you'll see some sea animals.
Tim G — Google review
Beautiful place! We can find excellent restaurants and stores. Kids program and education
Marcia C — Google review
This is the access point to a 20,000,000 acre backyard. Paddle board, kayak, fish, swim, surf, hike, or anything you like to do around water. The crowds are very manageable in spite of the awesome location. On Sunday they have a farmers market that can get busy but the incredible local strawberries are worth it. The ocean is filled with sea life as well. the pic is of a harbor seal that couldn't stay off of my SUP . I'd scare him off and a minute later he'd hop right back up and in a few seconds back to sleep he went. Great place to visit for sure. Hotels, restaurants are plenty and it is a great break from the LA crowd and heat.
Time2pull — Google review
One of my favorite places in Ventura county. Plenty of parking, good restaurants and cafes. It's an excellent option for walking or hanging out with kids (riding a scooter or walking). Additionally, the farmers market on Sundays mornings are amazing and highly recommend.

When visiting Ventura, a trip to The Robert J. Lagomarsino Visitor Center at Channel Islands National Park is a must for any tourist. This center serves as an essential guide for exploring the city and offers a variety of souvenirs. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing each island, browse through a bookstore, and observe aquatic life displays. The auditorium presents the entertaining film 'A Treasure in the Sea.'
Easter at the harbor. Andrias chopinno then a nature walk around the building; exhibiting plants from the channel islands. Finished our afternoon with an elevator ride to the observation deck simply gorgeous! FREE ENTERTAINMENT

We always enjoy visiting the National Parks. This one did not disappoint. From watching the very informative short video to the helpful staff. We also took the boat trip out to the Channel Islands. On the way, we got to see Dolphins and Whales. The islands and their history were just amazing.
David C — Google review
Had booked a roundtrip with Island Packers for a Friday in September. Got there around 8am because I needed to check-in 45 minutes in advance for the 9am ferry to Scorpion Cove. The visitor center opened at 8:30am, so took a quick walk over to buy some souvenirs and postcards. Liked the setup inside, and the items were easy to find. Checkout with the staff was quick, and I was able to get back to my car, drop off the items, and walk over to Island Packers before they started boarding.
Vipul S — Google review
This is a wonderful National Park Headquarters for the Channel Islands NP. There is a movie about the islands, narrated by Kevin Cosnter, a botanical garden with plants and trees, a diorama with animals, and an aquarium with fish, all from the Channel Islands. Lots of books and gifts to buy for adults and children available. The docents are knowledgeable and very helpful. They can help plan a trip to the Channel Islands which is s must!
Pamela G — Google review
A neat visitor center for those visiting CINP. Get your Natl Park passport booklets stamped here as well as t-shirts, caps, trinkets and books! Their book selection on the marine ecology & environment of CINP outstanding btw! FYI - just remember that for those taking the ferry boat road from the harbor rides nearby, the boats typically leave shortly after the visitor center opens, and if you catch the last ferry back, the visitor center will already be closed or closing. CINP is a wonderful place, but remember that MORE THAN HALF of CINP is the Federally Protected marine sanctuary underneath the surface! Imagine seeing the largest pod of dolphins just minutes from CINP - we did! The boat captain said it had to be 5000+ dolphins! And a pod of Orca whales teaching their young how to hunt seals, with an actual seal carcass! ONLY IN THE MARINE SANCTUARY OF CINP! MAKE SURE THE GOVT KEEPS THIS PROTECTED!
Michael R — Google review
As far as visitor centers go its pretty neat! The rangers at the desk were kind and helpful. The center itself was pretty interesting and informative. Displays outside include a small nature walk with pamphlets about the indigenous plants and topographical maps of each of the islands and information about each one of them. Inside the center is a small aquarium with local wildlife, some displays of other locals marine life and facts about the local indigenous peoples, the Chumash. If you have the energy there is a tower you can climb up to the 3rd floor that has information on the different level of the ocean and a great view once you reach the top. We finished our trip by picking up souvenirs in the gift shop. We were there for about an hour. If you looking to kill some time definitely stop by and check it out.
Jasmine Y — Google review
Very nice visitor center, very knowledgeable and helpful rangers and staff, great exhibits and selection in the park store.

A nicely laid out visitor centre on the mainland facing the Channel Islands. The gallery and interactive displays were enjoyed by all the kids. The stairwell paintings are very nicely done. The open aquarium is mesmerizing for the little ones. The fish and the 🦞. Would like to visit the islands but the cost for a family was quite high.

It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering various family-friendly amenities such as playgrounds, volleyball courts, picnic areas with tables and barbecue spots. The park features walking paths and a spacious grassy area perfect for beachfront picnics while enjoying views of the harbor.
Thumbs up all around from the toddlers to mom and dad. We stopped in on our way south to Disneyland to give the kids time to stretch their legs and burn some energy and couldn’t have been happier. This 10.5 beachfront park opened in 2015. Some of it’s offerings include: Nautical-Themed Playground: Features a large lighthouse with a red tunnel slide, a “spiderweb” rope climber, and play equipment suitable for toddlers and older children. The playground is adjacent to a sandy, wave-free bayfront beach ideal for kids. The Marina Park Community and Sailing Center provides sailing classes, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard rentals. Lighthouse Bayview Café is a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner with harbor views, located under a fake lighthouse. Basketball courts, an outdoor fitness circuit, picnic tables, a large grassy lawn. 177 parking spaces at $2.10/hr. ParkMobile app friendly.

It's a whole vibe. I recommend yoga with friends. Also, the beach is great, the access to the harbor (and ocean) is also great, and the parking is fantastic. What a gem.

I love Marina Park, specifically on a hot day. Jumping into the water to cool off is wonderful. This park does have a lot of traction since its at the beach like most beaches in the summer. But with that said the city keeps it very clean. If been coming here for decades and I enjoy it every single time.

Love this park. Plenty of grass to chill on with the kiddos, a nice park for the kids, a massive ship that has zip line and right on the beach. The waves can be a bit rough but still a nice spot.

Marina Park is a beautiful and relaxing place to spend time with family and friends. The park is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of open space to enjoy fresh air and nature. It’s right by the water, which makes the atmosphere peaceful and refreshing. The playground is perfect for children, with safe and fun equipment to keep them entertained. Restrooms are available and well-kept, which is very convenient for visitors. The park is also dog-friendly, so it’s a great place to bring pets for a walk or playtime.

Quiet park on the beach. Picnic tables, grass, playground, watch sailboats, clean restrooms, dog friendly, very relaxing 😌 😎

A clean and fun park with many amenities. There is a decent sized free parking lot as well as some street parking. The large grass area is great for picnics and family gatherings, flying kites, or playing with friends. There is a large play pirate ship at the sand for the kiddos. We saw many people bring their dogs here. There are also dog bag stations throughout the park. A meandering sidewalk leads you to the beach, dunes, or out along the peninsula. There are areas for fishing harbor side and ocean side. There are also plenty of benches throughout the park and along the sidewalk path. Great for relaxing and watching the sunset. The city does a great job of keeping up the park.

Was a fantastic family beach with picnic tables and built in small BBQ pits . Halfway to the beach and far enough from the ocean, but close enough to keep an eye on your kids. Even had trash cans right next to them. Guess this made too much work for the city, employees (Parks and rec.) and the stupid people that ruin these with vandalism and graffiti. So that might be the reason why they did away with them.

Public beach
Silver Strand Beach is a hidden gem for surfers, offering powerful waves that are perfect for tube riding. The beach also boasts a historic shipwreck at its southern end and vibrant murals painted by local artists. If surfing isn't your thing, you can relax on the mile-long stretch of squeaky sand or visit the viewing platform overlooking Channel Islands Harbor, where you might spot dolphins and seals. Snorkeling is popular here due to the abundant marine life.
This is a place to visit for views of mountains on the horizon, surfers on the ocean waves, and amazingly cute stinky beautiful God’s creatures the seals on the shore. I was in awe. I recommend stoping by here. There are a few restaurants close by but, I did not eat there, so don’t know 🤷🏽‍♂️.

If you're looking for a beach to relax and enjoy the ocean this is the spot. Tons of room for kids to play and not bother others, people to watch surf, and the best part is a clean public restroom and outdoor shower/rinse area! One of the best beach locations I've ever been to, to just relax!

Love the Strand, its my neighbor. Being from Wyneme I like to change it up a little. Lovely beach, clean and great view of the channel islands.

Wonderful white sandy beach. When we visited in December 2024 there were 30+ seals every day at the North end near the harbour. Parking was closed one day but plenty of street parking nearby.

Free parking, but the lot is on the small side. Clean beach with fine sand making for a pleasant walk. Full of marine life which makes for an interesting day: seals, many playful dolphins, & pelicans to name a few. Stayed all day and we all (kids & adults) really enjoyed this beach!

Nothing like standing in the surf at your home beach. We're all surrounded by water and waves for 9 months before were born and are used to that rhythm of our mother's heartbeat pushing those waves around us... standing in the water with the waves pulsing around my legs is Mother Earth trying to ground me and slow me down. Simply put, the rhythm of those waves I was surrounded by at the Strand was slower, but that's exactly what I needed. It's good to come home and have that hard re-set.

Walter B. Moranda Park, also known as Oxnard Beach Park, is a family-friendly destination offering various activities for all ages. The park features two playgrounds catering to different age groups and a scenic waterway where visitors can feed ducks and geese. There's also a walking path leading to the beach, providing an opportunity for a leisurely stroll. While the park is well-maintained, some visitors have suggested improvements such as updating the playground and adding shade for hot days.
Fun feeding the birds at this accessible but quiet, family-friendly park. (They don't act too grateful, but they are enthusiastic & take everything you care to give 'em.) DOUG out

Walter B. Moranda Park is a wonderful community park with lots of open space and great facilities. The playground is clean and safe for kids, and there are plenty of picnic tables and shaded areas, perfect for family gatherings. Restrooms are available and well-maintained. The park is also dog-friendly, so it’s a great place to walk or relax with pets. Overall, it’s a peaceful and enjoyable place to spend time with family and friends. Highly recommend visiting this park!

Love this place for a family fun day. There's 2 different playgrounds, one for smaller kids age 2-5 and another one with a couple swing sets as well. The waterway has ducks and geese to feed, which we're always sure to take some frozen peas as they enjoy them and it's healthy for them. There's even a walking path on the other side that can take you down to the beach if you don't mind the walk.
Bree G — Google review
This is a great place to take your kids. I've been coming here since I was little to feed the ducks. There's always plenty of ducks and seagulls, sometimes there are geese and egrets. Beware of the seagulls, they are mean and determined. Will follow you around if you have bread with you.

Hello Port Hueneme Park! Unpleasantly, the tennis courts are PACKED with socccer players playing soccer, roller skaters and biking + scootering on these courts which clearly is prohibited. Respectfully, please monitor the park CAREFULLY and CONSISTENTLY to avoid these outrageous problems!!! Thank you.

The kids are always so excited to come feed the ducks. The place is well manicured. You will occasionally find your weirdo but it is a park. The playground could use an update Or shade at the playground so it doesn't become to hot for the kids to play at.

My kids love going to this park. We feed the ducks first and then go to the playground for them to play.

Nestled by the Santa Clara River in Oxnard, the River Ridge Golf Club offers two top-notch 18-hole courses: the Vineyard Course and the Victoria Lakes Course. Both courses feature stunning water features spread across 8 acres, adding both beauty and challenge to your game. Visitors can enjoy picturesque vistas while playing a round of golf on these well-maintained courses. The club also boasts a driving range and practice area for enthusiasts to hone their skills.
I’m rounding up to a 5-star, but played the Vineyards course, and overall, I would say it was in good shape. Most fairways were in green and manicured, bunkers were pretty barren, and greens may have been a little shaggy, but not patchy or anything like that. Tee boxes were okay, and I would play here again. $50 for early morning walking.
Driving D — Google review
Honestly, this course deserves a lower rating than 4 stars. It would rate close to 2 stars if you go just based on how terrible the course is maintained. Vineyard course: On all holes with the exception of hole 13, there are NO ALIVE/GREEN GRASS IN THE FAIRWAYS. That being said, the fairways are flat and easy to hit from despite this shortfall. The upside is that your shots go further because the fairways are dry, so EGO BOOST!! ? :) The tee boxes… with the exception of the last holes and a couple others on the course, they all use DEAD grass. They don’t bother to use actual tee markers - they are PAINTED ROCKS. The rocks don’t bother me as much - I think it’s pretty inventive. Additionally, from blue tees some tee boxes are in very inconvenient places, but it is not a problem if you’re playing whites. Also, did I mention that the signs that show the hole numbers are sometimes wrong? This isn’t a big deal as it doesn’t make you get lost. The bunkers I played in were actually in good shape, so not complaints there. REAL SAND!!! :) Now, the only part about this course that was in decent condition were the putting greens and fringe. It is the ONLY part of the course consistently watered so that it is GREEN. However, greens are pretty slow… Theoretically, if you were playing from 25 yards, you would be playing the only part of the course properly maintained… Now, the reason why I rate this place 4 stars is because the staff is EXTREMELY FRIENDLY. The starter who was working Sunday 7/28 was extremely helpful in giving us a warning that the gates would be closing close to the time sun sets and kept the pace of play decent. The person in pro shop was also nice. So, Staff is 5/5. Also, the last hole is an ISLAND GREEN!! Really cool and rare for a public golf course! Overall it’s a tough course because of wind as well, affects your shots a lot. I also like the layout too - challenging. Also, it’s cooler here in the summer. If the grass were in better condition, this course would be one of the better public courses in the area.
Megan L — Google review
We were lucky enough to enjoy both courses, but I was still embarrassed that the wrong sign on the 17th hole of the Vineyard course was not corrected. It's so funny and ridiculous. The fairway and hole green management status was simple, but it is understandable compared to the low price. It was a beautiful course, but it is a pity to manage it.
M P — Google review
River Ridge Vineyards course was everything we expected based on what we paid. The weather was Perfect, the staff was the best and we really enjoyed the day!!

6 hr Round! Painfully slow Golf. Pro shop won’t answer the phones. Greens are as long as the bushes.. bad. course has a great design, but is in terrible shape. Would never come back again, even if it were free.
Don — Google review
Course is in better shape than the other reviews let on. Based on the other reviews It made me not want to play. Course plays long from the tips, the greens as slow. Challenging but fun track. I didn't hate it and would play again.
Reza — Google review
Decent course. Reasonable prices. Played a weekday round with cart for $58. The area had gotten a lot more rain than normal recently. Crew was a bit behind on mowing. Greens rolled great. They have fully recovered from punching roughly 6 weeks ago. Rough was tall. Lots of cut grass piled up. Huge 36 hole property. So the grounds crew has a lot to keep up with. Worth the price. I played the vineyard course.
CT W — Google review
Played the Vineyard Course on 9/28. I am shocked at what horrible shape this course is in. Greens were long and shaggy and about 20 on the Stimpmeter, new collars around the greens were like playing out of 1" deep rough. Fairways had not been mown for at least a week. Huge clumps of fescue growing out of the short fairway grass. All rough areas were very deep and covered in grass clippings everywhere. I'm not sure what's going on, but they are overwatering the turf and not mowing it frequently enough. The 5-1/2 hour round added insult to the poor playing conditions. Not worth the $71 I paid...this course used to be great. Considering heavy play and high green fees, where is the money going? Not to course maintenance. This gets 1 star for playability.

A nice looking park in the middle of the city. Grass, trees, some benches, a raised pagoda that you can look at but not use (from the 1920s, I think), no bathrooms (Starbucks is across the street), no picnic tables or BBQs, inhabited by the typical drug addicts and homeless that are ubiquitous in downtown Oxnard, but they (mostly) keep to themselves.

Amazing dog park! Big and spacious, with a small dog and big dog separated section. Super clean and well kept. Also a huge park surrounding it.
Savannah D — Google review
The park is beautiful and I couldn’t wait for my dog to play there when it re-opened at the end of May. Since then I’ve taken my dog three times. Each time, there was poop in several areas, even on the concrete near the lunch benches. I was surprised that at this beautiful park, in a beautiful neighborhood, that dog owners who decide to leave their dogs poop on the ground do not respect the universal idea of picking up your dog’s poop. In my opinion it also shows a lack of respect to fellow dog owners and dogs themselves. Pick up your dogs poop - it’s not that difficult!
Barbara R — Google review
Arrived around 1:30pm on a Wednesday and there were a few dogs there for my dogs to play with so it must have been a good time to go. The grass is nice and full in majority of the yard. The agility features were fun for my dogs! There’s plenty of seating for humans with picnic tables at the entrance. There is a small dog & big dog play yards separate. Street parking out in front of park.

This dog park is good when it's open. Lately, it's more often closed than open. Supposedly for maintenance. What are they maintaining when no one is ever there to work on the park. They can't even update the website to say that it's closed for over a month. Then these people close the other nearby dog park at the same time. Really good timing. The people in charge must not like dogs or hate their jobs.
Mauricio A — Google review
I took my frenchie here for the first time and the sign for the small dog area says 20 pound dogs only and some older people had there small dog and their Australian Shepherd in there, it kept barking and running along the fence wanting to go with the bigger dogs.. and my dog doesn't do well with bigger dogs (he tries to hump them). I wanted to stay longer cause my dog was doing great with all the other small dogs but those stupid people ruined it having there big dog in there.. as soon as he noticed the Australian Shepard he went to go sniff and hump her and in turn he got snapped at from the Aussie pretty bad. The small dog area only has 2 tables for people to sit at and there's no dog water fountain either.. they need more benches along the fence and a fountain.. I went on Saturday and both dog areas were packed with beautiful looking dogs. It was also difficult to find parking being that's it's in the corner of a large neighborhood with lots of the town homes all packed beside each other. I understand the reason for no dog water fountain too because this park was never intended to have a dog area. But since it's been there for maybe 5 years already I think Oxnard should have installed one by now. The new one in Port Hueneme is smaller.. but way better.
West O — Google review
Thought I would share updated photos of the park and their signage. Wonderful, well kept place for dogs of all types.

Good park for children 5 and up because the playground isn't designed for younger kids.

Like another reviewer said the park could be better if they were to maintain these parks. I come to this park mainly to use the tennis courts. During the summer the trees provide a nice shade on one side of the court. The public bathrooms are currently closed because of COVID but that has not prevented men from just going through the closed gate on the bathroom doors creating a foul smell (use a tree or a bottle guys).

For a dirt field back in the 80s. I used to ride my dirt bike through. It. Sure has changed. Came with my daughter and my God, sons, daughter to play at the park. Had a blast, this has got to be her favorite place? I can't belive I used to fly 20 feet in the air back in the day here. This park that used to be a field was on my way to the riverbottom. It had a huge setup launch jump you could really fly off. We all grew up here. Great times.

My kids and I went to Oxnard Community Park West around 10 AM this morning. My youngest son likes climbing and jumping off of stuff. There were only a few things for him to climb and jump off safely. There was another family playing soccer and some sketchy looking dudes hanging out in the parking lot. No swings, there were bits of trash in the playground, and the restrooms were filthy. Other than that the kids had fun.

No working public restrooms. City workers frequent the property but never fix the bathrooms, this is likely to target the homeless community, and may have to be dealt with via a class action lawsuit against the City of Oxnard.

Nice looking park in the middle of a large townhome development just off the 101 freeway. My friend & I were on our way home to Los Angeles after visiting Pismo Beach. He needed to find a restroom before the long drive home. We found this park thru a Google search, so we stopped. He says the men's room was very clean for being unlocked in a public park. Easy to find from the 101 & just as easy to jump back on the highway & go. It looked like there was an adequate amount of playground equipment that was very well maintained. I didn't see any picnic areas, but I wasn't really looking, so they might have been there & I just missed them. All in all, a nice little park in a nice area... recommended.

Okay park. Mainly just grass, playground. No restrooms, no water fountains. They cut the grass here so frequently, like 3-4 times a week. It doesn’t matter when you go. Morning walk? Mowing that grass. Afternoon walk with the dog? They’re mowing it Evening walk after a long day of work? You better believe they’re out there It wouldn’t be bad but some of the workers are annoying af. You walk away from them trying to stay out of their way and they come next to you, they don’t care you’re in the walkway path either and the grass is gonna fly towards you, they’ll throw it all over you. There’s a doggy station that’s missing now because the other day one of them riding the mower decided he could text and drive and ran into it. Wished I recorded it.

Bedford Pinkard Skate Park is a popular spot for skaters on the west coast. It features a small flow bowl leading into a medium-sized one, various banked hips, flat bars, and numerous ledge options. The park also offers additional skating opportunities outside its gates, including a ledge spot and a small flat ground gap into the nearby gazebo. Despite being the only public skatepark within a 45-minute radius, it can get crowded at times.
I have been skating parks all over the west coast and this one is good. Small flow bowl that dumps into a medium sized bowl, a few different banked hips, a few flat bars, and lots of ledge options. The street outside has a ledge spot, and there is a small flat ground gap into the gazebo just outside the gate. It is basically the only public skatepark for 45 minutes in any direction so it can get busy. It looks s covered in graffiti, but none of it is cool or artistic l. People from the area seem to think this is a “rough” neighborhood. Everyone I have met in my 3 mornings of skating has been chill and fun to skate with.

Fun bowls and pyramid. The rails and ledges on the perimeter are too close to the fence for comfort. Concrete was shaped well, but has a lot of slide to it. The harbor itself is great! However the employees working were very questionable. When we first arrived it was pleasant. However, when directed as guests there was very poor communication. Harbor Patrol botched it three different ways 1) did not direct us to the correct guest stay area 2) lacked motivation to show us or even provide us with a map. 3) failed to program the gate key to the guest zone. They (“punched in the wrong date”). I recommend you stay far away as possible from the neighborhood near the harbor. That neighborhood looked like they had recovering addicts living there. We were harassed and unwelcome. Good luck!

The public restrooms are conveniently located near popular attractions such as beaches and creeks. The toilet paper provided is of high quality, ensuring a comfortable experience for visitors.
These restrooms are great. When i was a kid, restrooms this close to a great venue like a beach or a creek would have z-fold toiler "paper" which felt and worked like those tissues they use to pick up a hot sticky donut at the donut store. If you tried to bunch it up, it created sharp corners that hurt sensitive areas. And don't get me started on the soap which was this gritty pink sand that didn't create suds, but did an okay job removing solids like if your ice cream got all over your hand and wrist. Anyway, these restrooms aren't like that at all. These restrooms have liquid soap that suds easily and toilet paper similar to the quality found it the 2 to 3 star motels i stay in on vacation. While most ocean users probably urinate in the ocean, i'm grateful for this restroom so as to discourage anyone from going number 2.

Attended a birthday party there and loved everything about the park the BBQ area benches were clean no graffiti or leftover food stuck on them. The one thing both myself and my husband were extremely disappointed in were the restrooms they were not kept up or taken care of the night before and definitely not cleaned the morning of the party nor did Parks & Rec. Pass by the 7 hours I was there to check on the park and the restrooms. That was my only issue other than that great place to have an event .

I went to the dog park down the street but it was still closed for reseeding so we ended up here. Great park for children but not for dogs, at least not large ones anyways, lol. I was dog sitting a Staffordshire Pit Bull (Sp?) & I have a small Jack Russel/Chihuahua mixed. My guy was fine but Simba, the pit, had so much energy I had a very hard time keeping him from literally pulling me over, lol. Certainly won't be watching him again for awhile, he's a great dog but too big & muscular for me. Bottom line is it's a great park for the kids, nice playground, and a block long so lots of room to walk also. There are benches to sit on but don't remember BBQ grills. If you have children or like to walk this is the place to go.

I love this Park. Its nice and quiet and right across the street from my girlfriend house literally. Love that it has a nice full court basketball court, and a tennis court engaged inside a high chain link fence around all 4 sides of the court to contain loose balls from having to chase them down. They have a nice decent playground for young children to play on plus a clean public restroom for both male and females thats cleaner than most public park restrooms in this city that I've ever seen.

This park has a basic 1 full size court ( I think it's smaller version of full court though) for basket and 2 full size tennis courts without nets. A few single benches through out the park and one party group size bench in the middle of the park. It has a soft texture walk trail throughout the park and cement trail that cuts through the park to get to the other side of the park. It does have an okay baseball field and on the otherwise of the park u can use that field which just dirt and very little little grass patches to play soccer. There is a third court which is between a set of trees.......which is utterly useless I have never seen anyone use it to play or relax due to not have any grass and cement like dirt. There is a playground but due the pandemic I am staying away. The morning people that walk at this park are more likely to wear mask than the evening people that walk at this park. It just an observation I have notice.

The ground is dead grass, burrs, foxtails and dirt. That could be made better. I am concerned that they used something like Roundup to kill the grass. That said, I've met nice dogs and nice people there. There is a group that shows up every day at about 5:30 PM. It's a nice place to make friends and expand your pack. 😉 * There have been some balls for play, left there recently. * Poop bags and a garbage can. * Pick nick table with benches. * No water hydrant. * Plenty of parking. * No Restrooms.

This review is only for the playground, not the soccer area--the soccer area is in a separate section and I haven't been there. My 5 year old son loves the playground and that's important. He is always asking to go here. The playground is small, but it has enough things for children to do. And it's nice that they have a water fountain. But the eating area is very small and there is no bathroom. And the upkeep with maintenance and cleaning is very poor, especially the cleaning. I was very disappointed the last two times I was there. The first time, there was a lot of vulgar graffiti, mostly in one area. My son can't read yet, so I didn't have to explain anything to him, but I still found it disgusting. The second time, someone had brought what looked like a smoothie or something and the cup and spoon were on the ground and the smoothie was all over one of the play structures, so I couldn't let my son play on it because it was sticky. More cleaning is needed, but also for people reading this, please throw your trash away in the trash cans and if you bring food, use the eating area to eat. I won't say anything else about the graffiti because I doubt the people responsible for it would be reading this.
Erin P — Google review

It has improved a lot before, it was a bit ugly and the games were destroyed (Original) Me gusta este parque esta bien cuidado los juegos son bonitos los baños están limpios Mejoro mucho anterior mente estaba algo feo y los juegos estaban destruidos
