Nature & Parks
Musashinonomori Park is a vast green space with an aerial view, encompassing numerous oak and cherry trees, sporting fields, and playgrounds. It's considered one of the most remarkable spots in Fuchu for Sakura viewing. The park offers ample opportunities for activities such as walking, running, birdwatching or cycling. Visitors can bring their mats to sit on the ground but are not allowed to BBQ or buy snacks and drinks from within the park.
I lived where this park is situated and left 51 years ago. I recently returned to see what has become of my old neighborhood. I was pleased to see what they have done. I also wondered if any of those christmas trees were some of the ones planted after christmas by the residents of our community. As a kid and even recently it was nice to watch the planes come into Old Chofu. The visitor center has historical information on display about the airfield.

One of the best places in Fuchu to watch Sakura cherry blossom 🌸 Very nice for walking, running, and setting to watch the birds. You can also bring your mat and sit on the ground too. However, BBQ is not allowed and there's no place to buy drinks or snacks.

11/24/2024 It’s a park surrounding the small airport and sports grounds next to TUFS campus. On this day, the colored leaves couldn’t have been seen much today so should’ve given it another week or so. Also I was waiting to see some planes taking off the airport but none of them left while I was here so that was kinda sad probably because it was Sunday.

One of the best place to enjoy your leisure time in free of charge. People usually come here with their friends, family members and also with their dog for a walk. The scenery was so greenery that I take so many picture there.

I've always wanted to go here, and I'm glad i did. It's a small hill to hike, but still a good place to visit if you want to go on a nature trip. You can either jog uphill or use the steps to go up. I also loved the Mt. Fuji view from here.

Wonderful view of Mount Fuji. If the weather is clear and you don't mind a bit of altitude.
Joen M — Google review
Sengenyama is a fantastic little nature reserve. There is a small shrine on the tallest hill which has a long unkempt staircase leading up to it. Alternatively you can walk along the ridge from the other side of the reserve. You can access the Tama cemetery over a bridge from this spot. It is also possible to see Fuji-san on a clear day. In the winter the trees are bare but they come back to life in the spring and are home to many insects and birds. Note that there is limited lighting here, and be careful if you visit following rain, it can get muddy!

Sakuradori Hiroba Park, also known as Children's Square, offers a unique and captivating experience for visitors. The park showcases various sculptures created by Satoshi Yabuuchi, the renowned artist behind Sento-kun. Unlike traditional pedestals, these sculptures are placed on the plaza floor to create a more approachable atmosphere for all ages, especially children. This innovative initiative has garnered praise from residents who appreciate the careful attention given to creating an environment where everyone can feel connected and engaged.

Rather than being built respectfully on a platform, they are placed on the floor of the plaza so that children can get to know them from a low-level perspective, creating a ``town with sculptures.'' Traffic Playground is a kids' park that offers go-karting, play equipment, and vintage locomotives and buses. The park features pedal cars for children to drive for free while waiting their turn, as well as go-karts available for 100 Yen per ride. It's an ideal place for family bonding time, school trips, or picnics where children can learn basic traffic rules and safety.
40mins of play is enough for this place. We did 8 rounds of Go-Kart. 1 round for 100yen. Kids who are Grade 3 and above can ride alone. Younger kids need to be accompanied at no extra cost. There were a few static buses and locomotives to head in and out. A small standalone obstacle area good for 4 year old kids and above. There is a local mini convenience store operating here. Please support him!
GIn T — Google review
You can enjoy go-karts for 100 yen per lap. Very exciting! There are also free rides and playground equipment!
Rintaro — Google review
It's an excellent place for family bonding time and school trips or picnic. Aside from playing, children can also learn basic traffic rules and safety. Old buses, fire engine, trains can be found here and can be used for pretend play. However, there are slides and equipment that can be a bit dangerous to kids, so better keep an eye on your little ones.
Joanne T — Google review
The attractions sure need an update. This is the only reason I’m giving it such a low score. I’m sure Keio can provide better equipment as this is pretty much a great opportunity to influence kids on becoming bus or train drivers. The place definitely needs an overhaul but it sure looks fun. I wish I was a kid again, maybe I’d give a different opinion

I am giving 4 stars because this park became very aged but the kids really loved. There are pedal cars that kifs can drive for free just waiting the turn. The circuit is like a town with dignals. There are also go carts (gasoline and electric) at 100 Yen/ride, from 9 years can ride alone or less than 9, for same price can ride the adult and kid. Toilet is old jaoanese stand styke but usable and clean. Drinks snd snacks shop.

I highly recommend visiting Plum Garden, located near Gotokuji Temple. The walk from the temple to the park is delightful, providing an opportunity to admire the surroundings. The park offers a beautiful view of blossoms and attracts many visitors who come to enjoy its serene atmosphere. Although it may not be peak plum blossom season, there are still plenty of blooms to appreciate, and ample seating areas are available for relaxation amidst the flowers.
A stunning plum garden with a wide variety of trees that start blooming from late January through February. The interactive online map and QR codes provide interesting explanations, making the visit even more enjoyable. A great spot to experience seasonal beauty!

Early Spring. A Tad too early for Sakura season but got a glimpse of how the garden will offer in a month or so.
Nicholas S — Google review
Plum flowers are mostly gone as of 3/11/25, there are 2 trees in good bloom and 1 of them still blooming out of 40-50 trees there. I'm sure it would be super pretty if I got here 2 weeks earlier, but since the flowers are gone, there is no crowd. At least I got to see the tree in bloom by myself. The birds are also making sure to take down what's left of the flowers 😂

Holidayed in Japan, end of winter 2025. So happy to see all these beautiful Ume flowers before going home!

Definitely recommend. I walked to the park from Gotokuji Temple, which was a lovely walk on its own, but I really enjoyed getting to view the blossoms here and see all the other folks out enjoying the park. I don't think it was full plum blossom season, but there were plenty of blooms and places to sit and enjoy the flowers. Some of the trees have QR codes that link to more information about the trees. I also appreciated that they laid down tarp-like paths over certain places.
Rebecca — Google review
Not a very big park, but during plum blossom season it has lots of beautiful blooming plum blossom trees, stalls selling ume-themed food and beverages, and even vendors selling plants – including pots of plum blossoms you can bring home. Near to the station too.
Rachel T — Google review
Love walking here with my dog! Late Feb and early March especially has “omomuki” with the plum blossoms there to greet us and the early signs of spring 🌱

Popular during the end of February when the plum blossoms begin to bloom. Very busy. Many kids and elderly. Be patient :)

Nestled conveniently along the route from Fuchu Station's north exit to the Shimachu Fuchu store, Kotobuki Central Park is a delightful discovery for anyone seeking a serene escape. This spacious park features a charming playground for children and boasts stunning lotus flowers that bloom vibrantly in the pond during warmer months. Visitors can unwind on benches surrounding the picturesque gourd pond, taking in the sight of pink and white lotuses dancing gently on the water’s surface.
There's a nice pond with a relaxing view. There are drink machines and benches

This park is quite big, and has a playground for children. it's beautiful here when the lotus flower has sprouted. This winter season you won't see much here in this park, but it's a good place to relax. There is also a toilet here in the park.

I think I'll be able to enjoy it for the next few days. You can access the slope from the entrance to the waterfall, and it is wheelchair accessible. To get close to the waterfall, you need to walk over steps. There are free coin lockers in the planetarium right after entering the park. However, since it is only small, it does not fit in a travel carry bag. The coin locker corner does not have a lock, but there is a shelf where you can store large items. Kami-Kitazawa Sakura Square is a charming and picturesque spot located in Setagaya, Tokyo.
