1Caffa Mill Car Park

Parking lot
Caffa Mill Car Park, located near the Bodinnick ferry drop-off, offers 104 spaces and boat launching facilities. It's a convenient starting point for a circular walk around the Fowey estuary to Polruan and back. The car park is just a short, pleasant walk from the town center along level streets. Visitors can pay for parking using their mobile phones if they don't have the right coins.
Just park code 8351. Got the last space as someone was moving out. Passage lane car park was full. Right next to the ferry and easy walk to town. Few benches to sit down and watch the car ferry to the other side
R R — Google review
Often full and more spaces have recently been made private, but easy to find and reasonably level (one short hill) access to town.
HandySam — Google review
Good location, just as you come off the ferry follow it round to your left ideal parking for the Seafari. There are toilets but it costs 20p and is coin only. Pay machines take card or you can pay by app. It does get busy so there's another car park a bit further up (as you come off the ferry follow it round to the right)
Phil — Google review
Disappointed that despite it being a very busy car park the authorities have taken the decision not only to reduce the disabled spaces but have taken more out for charging cars. I was there in possibly the busiest week of the year, during the Regatta and only ever saw one car charging!
Ken M — Google review
Reasonable all day parking! Went on the Boddinick ferry from the car park and walked the Hall walk
Matt F — Google review
I wasn't there in the season so I can't tell how crowded was , on this day an age should be a life stream so you can be certain.
Carpenter E — Google review
Nightmare to get to down a single track road which was very busy, and the car park was full once we got there. So we left, bewildered and frustrated.
Mac W — Google review
Small carpark. Four ev charging stations by Swarco / eVolt. It appears to be the cheapest carpark in Fowey now, and thus often full, with people queuing for spaces, in tourist season and EV points tend to get ICE'd.

National Trust - Fowey Estuary is a stunning destination for various activities. Visitors can take the Bodinnick car ferry to explore Looe, Polperro, and the River Fowey. The estuary offers ideal conditions for kayaking, with calm waters perfect for beginners. Additionally, there are picturesque coastal walks in Polruan and opportunities to visit historic sites such as Allday Fields and Gribbin Head.
Amazing walk up the steps from Readymoney beach at Fowey. Very steep but well worth it for the views.
Andy G — Google review
Fowey town was a nice afternoon out in the sunshine. Plenty of pubs and bakery’s to grab a drink and food. There is also the Tarquins gin shop for all your gin needs. They were doing 2 bottles for £89 when we went. There is a secret little thoroughfare to the sea which is nice. The views from the square across the bay are nice. There is no vehicular access to the town unless you are resident / business. However, there is a large car park run by Cornwall council at the top of the hill. Usual council car park costs of £6.80 for 4 hours. Sliding scale prices. The hill in to fowey is steep. However there is a bus that runs from the car park. £1 in and £2 to get back.

Gorgeous walk along - great views…
Dave C — Google review
This photograph is from Sunday, and a short walk around the ancient harbour town of Fowey in Cornwall. Here there is a deep natural harbour that is now a very popular tourist destination. During the day it is a hive of activity, but I managed to start my walk at 6:00am, and mooch around the town in total peace and tranquility. I had my dog Bella with me for company, and we made our way to the town quay, from where this photograph was taken. Walking onto the quayside, we were greeted by this wide open vista, with a view looking out towards the mouth of the Fowey estuary and on to the open sea. The skies were crystal clear, with a slight pink glow over towards the horizon, gradually merging upwards into a steel blue sky above. This time of day is so special, so valuable. Viewing a place when no one else is around gives such an interesting perspective. Much more detail comes into view; without the visual and audible distractions from people on their daily business, this is a rare opportunity to see the raw beauty that abounds. I could stare at the scene for hours. It’s like a work of art from the grand master that is nature, on display in my own private museum. We sit on a bench for a while. Bella snuffles and sniffles the ground for a few minutes, before flopping down at my feet, resigned to resting a while. I scan the estuary for signs of life. The boats are all anchored, bobbing gently on the gently undulating surface water. Sunlight glints catch my eye. The myriad of colours is always special in a harbour view. I look at the variety of boats, wondering how much pleasure they will have bought their owners, and how many adventures they may have been on. Looking over towards the opposite hillside, the houses of Polruan seem to fill the entire landscape, with hardly a gap in between. Yet all seem to be sleeping still. The water looks relatively calm and inviting. It’s at times like this I wish I could swim really well, and get a water level view of the scene. I imagine the sense of freedom would be exhilarating. I’ll settle for the view from the passenger ferry, later in the week. From there the scale of the estuary will be truly revealed. How quickly time passes. The bells of the church tower, marking the half hour, wake me from my meditative observing, and I can tell that both Bella and I are in need of breakfast. We take a last view of the quayside, and savour the peace and tranquility one last time. If I return a few hours later the scene will be very different; still very much to be appreciated, but without the solitude it won’t seem as though the picture was painted solely for me. It’s a scene that stays in my heart for the rest of the day. It’s a scene that I can’t put a price on. How lucky I have been. I’ve passed through a special moment in time. From the quayside we have a short walk up a steep hill, which takes us out of the town. I stop briefly along the way to peek into the various shop windows. There’s a vintage jewellery shop that attracts my attention. I love looking at the various items, wondering what their history is, who had the pleasure of wearing them, and what events brought them to rest in this particular shop window, waiting for a new owner. I wonder what stories lie behind them. I’m looking forward to doing a lot more walking this week, searching out new views, spending time looking at everything that nature has to offer. Hopefully I’ll do some exploring of familiar haunts, and maybe find a different perspective to view them from. A different perspective is always welcome. Sunday was a good start. I loved the early morning colours - these are the colours I choose to paint my day.

The Hall Walk is a popular circular trek around Fowey, offering breathtaking views of the estuary and shaded woodland. The trail includes steep sections but rewards hikers with framed water views and abundant wildlife. Additionally, it passes through Bodinnick and Polruan, featuring ancient landmarks and a stretch along the South West Coast Path to Lantic Bay. This picturesque route provides an ideal opportunity for nature enthusiasts and romantic getaways alike.
An amazing walk from Fowey, where you have to take the ferry to Bodinnick, and then walk up the hill past the Ferry Man Inn and the church on the right, just past the church on the right is the entrance to the Hall Walk to Pont Pill and then onto Polruan and then the Ferry back across the river to Fowey. It’s a great walk with not too many steep hills or slopes and the most beautiful scenery that you will see.
Jonathan P — Google review
Fantastic walk, fabulous views, slippy in places but very doable. Stopped for lunch in Polruan
Carol O — Google review
We'd done the looe to polperro coast walk the day before which was longer but Hall walk was much harder. We are mid and late 60s and regular walkers and found it challenging in places. It is however worth it and stunningly beautiful plus the 2 ferry trips make it a bit of a adventure. We parked in the little free car park in Bodinnick up the hill a few 100 yards from the slipway.
Sharon S — Google review
Beautiful walk with stunning views over the river Fowey, Fowey & Polruan. The Hall walk is an interesting one, we found it on the Internet. Starting in Fowey along the main street to the Boddinick ferry (£2 per adult) upthe Hill past the pub on the right is a path sign posted to Polruan. Passenger ferry (£2.30 per adult) from Polruan back to Fowey. If you look at the Hall walk on line you'll find an interesting info on what to look out for along the way. Highly recommended.

Beautiful views of Fowey, signs very easy to follow and lots of blackberries!

Bodinnick Ferry is a historic and convenient car ferry that provides easy access between mid and east Cornwall, making it ideal for day trips to various destinations. The ferry operates year-round, except for a few holidays, and offers a passenger service on select days. It's also a charming way to cross the estuary at Fowey, with steep roads leading to the ferry terminal.
Just a few minutes and we are on the other side and more places full of magic in the southern part of the island lie ahead of us. The crossing itself and the views during it are worth taking photos. The magic of Cornwall is everywhere. Prices range from £1 to £10 each way.

Great! I didn’t even know there was a ferry on the way and the whole family got so excited when we realized. We didn’t expect it to be running on a Sunday at 8pm, so that made it even more special. The ride was super fast, comfortable, and offered beautiful views. The staff were friendly and professional, couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Daria W — Google review
Lovely changing views as the ferry moves gently across the water. Super friendly staff who held departure and reopened barrier to allow us to get on board and avoid a 30 minute delay😊

Marina
Fowey Harbour Commissioners oversee the launching of non-motorized watercraft like kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. These vessels must be registered with the Fowey Harbour Office and relevant harbor duties paid. The area is known for its beauty but accessing it involves a steep descent and ascent from the parking area at the top of a hill. The car park tends to be very busy, so arriving early is advisable.
Went for the Christmas Market. Well set out with several marquees in the town, plenty of local gifts for sale along with a large array of food and drink. Well worth a visit
Collin R — Google review
Beautiful coastal town with everything you would want. A great boat trip as well hiring and driving ourselves. Really good spot for lunch over looking the estuary
Anthony A — Google review
Fowey Harbour is beautiful. Be warned that you have to park at the very top of the hill. The descent and ascent is very steep but who doesn't love a challenge?! The carpark was also VERY busy and we waited a long time for a space so I'd get there early. The roads in Fowey are narrow and there appears to be alot of cars passing through which isn't great if you have buggies and children. That said, when you get to the bottom there is plenty to do.. eat, drink, take in the views or go for a boat ride!
Kyle H — Google review
We just visited the Christmas market and really enjoyed it it is a very beautiful place with lots going on the people are really friendly. It was a pleasureable experience and I can't wait to visit again hopefully in the summer.

Readymoney Car Park is a convenient parking spot for those visiting Fowey or Readymoney Cove. It offers clearly marked spaces suitable for cars and small vans, providing easy access to the beach and a pleasant stroll along the esplanade to Fowey. Additionally, it serves as a starting point for a woody trail leading to St Catherines Castle, which was built in 1540 as protection against French invasion.
Parked at this carpark and then walked down towards the beach and st Catherine castle. Pay by cash/card or JUST PARK APP. 20min walk to Fowey town centre.
Alex L — Google review
Great picturesque secluded cove. Clear water and clean beach. The shop nearby has lots from coffee ( nice touch with the reusable mugs) and drinks. You can even get a stamp for your passport.
R M — Google review
Only 10-15 minute walk to the harbour with some really nice views on the way. Not too bad going back up the hill. Nearby Readymoney beach is lovely with a designated area with benches to sit and enjoy the view from above the beach. Only downside is the price of the parking, I find the prices the same or very similar across Fowey, all expensive.

Small and entrance/exit os very steep, a good hill start required

The beach is less busy later in the day and can be accessed after a 5-10 minute walk from the car park, which is situated up a hill.
Stunning little beach just a short walk away. Lovely little cafe there and toilets too! Usually pretty empty, we visited on Easter Sunday and it was quite busy but still a beautiful little beach ⛱️

Lovely small cove, the beach is ideal for all. Walk down from the car park is easily accessible with prams as it is just a slope. Small beach shop supplying snacks and drinks is available. They also hire out deck chairs and bodyboards for only a few ££. We took our paddleboard as the water is quite calm and safe for children.
