We’ve been coming here for years and always leave happy. The outdoor seating is beautiful, with heaters to keep you warm, and the atmosphere is lively. They recently added a Garden Menu, we tried the lamb and it was delicious. I’m not usually into veggie pizzas, but here they’re really good. We’ve tried most of the pizzas and almost all have been great. The wings are tasty, and the dips are good but small in size. It’s a seat-yourself place, so you may need to wait and watch for a free table. The salads are fresh, the menu is simple, the staff is friendly. They often have live music, sometimes a bit loud for me, but other times perfect. Great spot for good pizza, a nice outdoor space, and a fun night out.

What an amazing venue Jupiter features live music and a helpful wait staff. The place was busy during graduation season. The decor to the food was excellent. When you visit be sure to ask for margaritas. Take advantage of ordering a second round of margaritas, because in many ways they’re better than the first round. Our party of five enjoyed the food. Three adults were keen on the mixologist that made the margarita difference for the first round to the second . (The only drawback was payment in cash became a challenge—venue opted out cash for credit card payment instead for reasons too many frauds with $100. note: bills needing to have a blue markings.) unfortunately information was shared by our nice waiter, yet overall I’ll take a chance on another visit only to realize not to bring cash, because Jupiter didn’t trust $100 bills without the blue marking. Says the waiter.

I came here for happy hour and it was a nice outdoor experience in the back. The food was good and the service was pretty attentive. The pizza was tasty, same with the artichoke and spinach dip. The wood-fired potatoes were a good filler. A hefeweizen is always tasty! Would come again if in the area.

nice nook in berkeley, food is above average , ambiance is great, had enough heaters to not to feel cold during a cloudy day. Beet salad was the best item ordered. Service can be slow on a busy day. Overall , above average rating.

Cool spot for a quick lunch. Enjoyed a few IPA which made it all worthwhile. The beer cheese was meh - pizza was okay - salads were great. Outside ambience was dope👊🏼

Food was perfect and the service was excellent we placed our order using the QR code so we didn’t wait than the food it comes after 15 mn I think they bring singers every weekend

Our first dining experience here was disappointing. While the food itself was just average, what really alarmed us was finding a large piece of plastic embedded in our pizza — a serious safety hazard. Thankfully, my husband noticed it before swallowing, but it could have easily caused someone to choke. We expected much better quality control and attention to detail from a restaurant of this reputation. Unfortunately, this incident has left us hesitant to return or recommend it to others.

If this is the best place to dance at Berkeley, I’m sorry for the students who will never know a good place to dance. Someone please set up shop to end the lack of good places to club! Palo Alto has far better places.

Regular since 2017. Terrible service by the server serving on the floor this weekend (5/16-17/2025). Train her better Kips! Seemed like we were invisible to her. Even after 60+% in tips day 1 same attitude day 2, shocking!!!

I live in unit 3 and you guys are keeping the entire building up. It's almost 2 am. I live on the eighth floor and I can still hear every lyric on your awful soundtrack with my windows closed.

This place is not for the girls. The men’s restroom is your run of the mill multi-stall, but the women’s restroom is just a single-use bathroom that feels like and after thought, was basically hidden, and had a significant queue (of the few women that were there). Why would you have a single-use restroom for women when our queues are already typically longer? Vibes = so off.

Went to Kip's to watch G.S. WARRIORS game. Ordered Pineapple Fish bowl to share, Western burger and 5 tacos on Tuesday night. The burger came out first, 45 minutes after we ordered it. Having inquired about our drink, she admitted to forgetting to place drink order. 5 minutes later, we finally get our libation. She charges $35 for the drink, when they were on special for $25. Apparently the "special " had ended at 8pm. It was now 830. I explained that we ordered the drink well before 8 and were forced to suffer from dry mouth for way too long. Too bad, so sad. Shortly thereafter, my tacos arrived. Lots of screens, upbeat vibe, good food, and billiards are enough to return. Service and reconciliation difficult to attain.

Bartenders are always amazing and very attentive they do get busy but if you give them a holler because the music is very loud they will turn around and spin around do a 360 and still give you a shot when they get chance lol 🤣 been in here twice now both times played some pool had a few laughs and danced pretty good atmosphere if you're going for 1990s_ 2000s vibes for the 🌃 night;)

Theo and Bruna are the best bartenders ever. On that note this bar is fun. Has a photo booth. And on weekends the downstairs dance floor opens. Which is always fun. They have a great food menu which I've tried most of but my ultimate favorite is the angus hamburger and the chicken strips and the BLT with chips and salsa on the side I'll always come visit cause the bartenders make me feel at home but in a better enviroment. There is an upstairs with a bar, an eating area and a bathroom. There is a downstairs with a bar, a eating area and a bathroom. There also is a little area to sit outside. The drinks are not too strong or too watery. The bartender was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend a girls night out or a boys night out here.

Such a lovely spot with a warm fireplace and cozy dim lighting. We went on a Tuesday night, and since it wasn’t too busy, the staff even let us play pool for free! The cocktail menu is both extensive and creative—we had fun trying different options, and each one was well-balanced with a solid pour, not just sugary flavorings like at many other places. I also loved the complimentary popcorn bar, complete with unique toppings and flavor choices. For anyone who enjoys sweeter drinks, I’d recommend the "Everlasting Light", "Happy Idiot", and "Aztec Death Whistle". "Electric slide" and "Daytona Sand" were the strongest drinks. "How high" was the most sour.

We didn't eat but the drink menu felt like a buffet. Many great drink options and the atmoshpere was really awesome.Jeff was an AMAZING mixologist!

Solid cocktail bar that has an old school feel. Giving low score in service as I asked the bartender some questions about drinks and he didn't seem very knowledgeable. Other than that a pretty good cocktail bar.

Great ambiance, trendy crowd, amazing drinks! The interior is very vintage and has a speakeasy feel to it. Seating options are cozy booths or tables with bar stools. The bartenders are so professional and really know how to make a drink! Good prices for what you're getting. Can't wait to come back. Haven't tried the food yet, but definitely recommend their drinks.

This is a beautiful bar. There was a year long period when they had TVs and it smelled really weird and I couldn't recommend it. But now it's back (at least on slower days, including my most recent rainy Sunday night) where it's still gorgeous, moody, dim, and magical. BE HERE

This was a great place to have a relaxed lunch in Berkeley. They have a wonderful rooftop bar and also outdoor seating. And they do a phenomenal job of keeping everyone safe during Covid. Every menu at every table is discarded after use for example! You can also order online and pay online without having to speak to a waiter.

From my time at UC Berkeley, Triple Rock stands out as one of the, if not the single, best spots to eat and drink casually in the city. The food and drinks are great (the buffalo wings are some of the best I’ve had in the bay), the prices are reasonable, and the service and ambience are excellent. A must-try for anyone looking for a classic but unique bar in Berkeley!

One of my favorite spots to go to in Berkeley. This brewery has been around for a while now. The restaurant itself has recently been expanded and now sits a lot more people. You have mainly 3 seating option. 1. Near the bar 2. New Larger room which has more space and a shuffleboard or 3. the outdoor/rooftop seating. I prefer seating on the roof or the larger room depending on the weather and size of the group. The service is great and all the servers know what they are serving. They can help you decided what to get. My favorite day to visit is Thursday because they serve their famous Monkey Head on that day. It is an $8 dollar huge bottle of beer that needs to be had in tine glasses. (That's the fun of it). Even the food is yum! so if you work around the area you could definitely get some food and drinks here I have had some great times here. Tip: On Thursday's it usually gets crowded so you might want to get there by 6-ish to make sure you get a good spot.

I ended up at Triple Rock by accident today. I had planned for an end-of-the-year lunch with some ex-coworkers at a nearby restaurant and it was closed. I had not been in this place since the 90’s, I think it was just beer back then. I was pleasantly surprised to see the cocktail menu. The Campsite Karaoke cocktail was so good it tasted like candy. The food is standard fare with good portions. Service was quick, contactless and efficient.

The food is much better than typical pub grub. The house beers cover a good range, with 4 IPAs today, in addition to guest brews. When the weather is nice, it's pleasant to sit at the counter by the roll-up window.

Often stop by for trivia on Wednesdays. Service is via QR codes on the tables. Staff is super friendly. Bar menu is substantial. Has a bike rack outside to hang yours. Staff helped me recover a lock I forgot one night.

Order the beer flights! It’s worth it! Some cocktails are original and not bad. Sweet potato fries and onion rings are solid. The garlic fries, however, is a bit soggy.

Chill Sports Bar for a Pint This is the second time we went to Pappy's Grill. First time was in the evening. It was relatively crowded then. Large student crowd. Still it was pleasant. Second time was on a Saturday afternoon. That was chill. Not crowded. Nice ambience. Beers start at $4. The more expensive range is $6. Quite affordable indeed. Good place to relax and watch sports if that's what you're in to.

So here's my dilemma...the salad was fine, the fries were crispy and the service was quick and friendly. BUT, we were hoping to grab a beer and get warm when we realized the bar was closed and it NEVER got warm in the dining area. Also, there were crumbs everywhere. Maybe it's a good college spot on regular days but it missed the mark for us.

Good bar food, no table service. Nice layout, cool vibe. Downstairs is permanently setup as a dance club... sad to see that aspect of Blake's disappear.

In town for a show and my husband wanted to catch part of the football game first. I googled “sports bars” nearby so we could have a drink and he could check on his game. I am so incredibly confused by this place. They have food, a scary basement bathroom, and a huge bar that is closed. I didn’t want food and I hate football and just wanted a drink so here I am…

Cool sport bar. There were a lot of people here to watch games. You can order food there from a separate bar. The reason I don’t think it’s the best place is because their cocktails taste really bad. Maybe you should just go for beers at here.

Your typical college sports bar! This place is close to heart! The most fun nights at Berkeley I have had have usually ended up at Pappy's. The restaurant on the top floor shows a lot of school spirit with hanging sports jersey's and other sports memorabilia from of the Cal Bears. The large screens are perfect to catch a basketball/football game with a big pitcher of beer. The basement is where you have the most fun. But it is important to go to pappy's when you are in large groups. it is the most fun then. The pool table is rarely used but the music sets the mood for a great night with people dancing like no one cares. The basement becomes a mini club on the weekend. My favorite thing to get here is the JELLO SHOTS! there is no way you should miss those.

This place is really nice, clean and the food is really delicious. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Great service! There’s a lot of seating too.

Had a lovely dinner there last night. Our waitress was very attentive. We had the whole roasted chicken and it came with lovely tortillas, beans and rice. Cocktails were yummy too. I liked the ceviche, though there could’ve been more shrimp. The Tlayuda was very good. Also, there were a lot of adorable children running around, which is always a plus.

Was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the back area of Comal. From the front, it doesn’t really look that big but once your inside they an elegant sit down interior and then their back area has a tall ceiling and a very earthy vibe with a bar connected. The food itself is authentic. Especially their hand pressed tortillas. The prices are a bit steep but it’s worth it for a cute dinner date or elegant time with the family. I got the cod tacos which were extremely delicious. The tortillas are super soft and surprisingly light.

Alex and Jose at the outdoor bar totally made our experience!! We enjoyed the Comal Swizzle and whole cod! Felt like in a different tropical country :) Wow yum! Will be back with friends :)

We tried this place last weekend. As Mexicans, we can tell that it’s not 100% authentic Mexican food, it’s more like a fusion. But the food is good and the service and atmosphere are very nice! We had the whole chicken and it was flavorful!

I would say you’re paying mostly for the ambience. The food was alright I liked the tlayuda. Aside from that everything was average.

Excellent meal prior to a show at the Greek Theatre. Started with a beautiful tequila flight and papas fritas and shared the ensalada picada and tlayuda (think Mexican pizza - NOT the Taco Bell kind!). Everything was excellent and the atmosphere was festive. Highly recommend and wish we could have eaten more because everything at the surrounding tables looked delicious!

Fairly awful experience, but maybe just an off day (2/5). I brought a visiting friend to Comal, as I’d never been and figured it would be a nice place to try out. There were plenty of people having a great time out back, dancing to music under strings of lights in the lovely garden. Alas, we were having a not-so-great time inside. The hostess was laughably rude. We seemed to interrupt a little tiff she was having with some dude and she was clearly unhappy having to pause her drama to deal with us. As we walked up she looked over and said “Yes?” in a very irritated tone. I felt like saying, well surprise surprise, we’d like a table! What do people who walk in normally want? Even though it was later in the evening and there were plenty of tables, she sat us right beside the bathrooms, as if to make it clear that she was unhappy with us interrupting her night. The server was okay but honestly pretty cold. I guess he was a bit burned out after a long night. It also would have been nice to get some input on our order as we ordered chips & guac but also fried cassava. I was thinking that the cassava would be in chunks but they were actually shaved into chips. So we had chips and then more chips! The regular chips were not great (we were divided on the guacamole), the cassava chips were superfluous, and the mushroom quesadilla was, unfortunately, unremarkable. And it cost a lot. For just a quick drink and bite (2 x beers, 1 x guac and chips, 1 x cassava, 1 x quesadilla) it came to around $80 total. Also, I’m scoring Comal 3.5/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these factors: • Comal’s menu caters reasonably well to vegetarians and also has a few vegan dishes. • The biggest thing Comal could to do improve its impact is to remove beef from the menu – it’s well known (esp. since Poore & Nemecek’s seminal 2018 paper) that the environmental footprints of beef (carbon, land, etc.) dwarf those of other meats like chicken or pork (which in turn dwarf legumes). Shrimp also has large environmental footprints and impacts on ocean biodiversity, so that would be second in line to find a good substitute for. • Comal is known for efforts to ensure a decent pay for staff (e.g., a fixed 20% service charge). • The building was designed with sustainability in mind (re-use of materials, etc.) • I believe that Comal does its best to reduce single-use plastic, for example in to-go orders. • Decent selection of local draft beers, Numi tea. • There’s no info on menu or website regarding ingredient sourcing. • It is a nice gathering spot that also supports the community.

Nice establishment and they validate parking for a very close and safe parking garage. The cookies were delicious but I did have a hair in my chocolate chip cookie. All good, it happens. The show was excellent. Very talented cast. We saw The Thing About Jellyfish. Great show. I would recommend it for everyone.

They often have really great shows. Some of the best theater I've seen has been here. Sometimes there are misses, but even so, the production value is always to die for.

Excellent show in a well located theater in Berkeley! Saw W. Kamau Bell and loved spending an evening listening to an educated, thoughtful political social critic.

Cute little theater with great ambiance. The play was really well done and I was impressed by the effects as well as use of different media (props, lights, etc), especially for such a small stage! I saw the Far Country and it reminded me of my college trip to Angel Island and the history there. I don't want to go into too many details, but it was really intense, in a great way! I hope everyone comes away with a different viewpoint. I could smell the coffee a soon as I walked in! The snack bar was small and the courtyard had headrests and benches with space to walk around.

The facility is fantastic and the performance and production values are top notch. But the current production of "Swept Away" features a paper-thin plot devoid of drama or emotion, which is especially perplexing since it is loosely based on a true story that is filled with more than its share of drama and twists and turns. It is still quite enjoyable in a 'listening to an Avett Brothers cover band' type of way but could/ should have been so much more.

Enjoyed this summer's Best of 2nd City show. Sunday matinee was super chill, easy parking at curb or in garage across from theatre at reasonable rate. Friendly staff and crowd. The entrance fee is $14 but there are a lot of discounted and free categories. They also have a coat check service available. The museum is manageable, you would be able to cover all exhibitions in a short time. The wall texts sometimes provide a lot of information but sometimes they don't which is a shame because many of the well described wall text helps me understand the materials, concepts and artist interpretation. Generally the exhibition is curated well too. The gift store is small but has a lot of fun things to buy.

Totally worth checking out. Free if you are Berkeley student. Great collection of changing exhibits locally rooted and relevant. Helpful guides and resource people. Must visit if you are visiting. Weekly film screenings as well

A good museum for contemporary art. It's big but with a lot of hopeful empty space. It didn't take me that long to finish the displays. The art is beautiful but it needs bigger names to generate more appeal to the masses. Maybe they should reduce the $14 admission fee or just make it a free entry museum. Their gift shop is nice, go check it out. There's a cafeteria but it was closed the day I was there. It's better to get there on public transportation than to hunt for parking spaces. Have a meal after the visit at one of the many nice restaurants nearby.

Visited BAMPFA for the first time and was truly impressed by the exhibits. "Routed West" featured an incredible quilt collection that highlighted the history of quilts in California, particularly among African Americans. I was also captivated by "Lee ShinJa: Drawing with Thread," which showcased the artist’s bold innovations in fiber art. It’s astonishing how she created such intricate pieces over five decades, with remarkable attention to detail. Additionally, "Matrix 287," an exhibit in one of the halls, presented anthropomorphic assemblages with fused prostheses that challenge standardized body expectations. Be sure not to miss the Art Wall at the entrance, which features impressive work by artist Stephanie Syjuco in a modern setting. You will definitely enjoy the exhibits if you’re into art and history. Definitely give it a visit if you’re around. Exhibits can be seen in an hour time.

We went to a Quilt exhibit which was extensive and well documented. A definite must see if you are in the area. The collection was culled from the museum's 3,000 quilt collection.

Was looking closely....not touching pointing to patterns. discussing techniques with my daughter, I am a little shortsighted so may have been very slightly close when pompous offiocious unfriendly stewarding burst bubble ...left early. Sad. Expressive folk art made inaccessable... and un-fun.

I was up on Telegraph looking for Weasel Rimrubber's lost dog Splatter, the hair lipped albino water dog from Portugal. I thought I saw him duck into Sliver Pizzeria, but when I saw that dog...it had 4 legs, and Splatter only has 3 ..So I decided to have a couple of slices and pass out photos of Splatter and mention the reward and the fact that he only understands Portuguese. It was my 1st time at Sliver Pizzeria, and the pizza was Amazing! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆!

Running errands the other day on Telegraph Ave, my partner and I decided to eat at Sliver. We ordered a half pizza bc we were inbetween lunch and dinner and just needed a snack. But the half comes with two extra slivers. It was so good and the service was excellent too! Our pizza was ready in 5 minutes and they included the green sauce and limes. They also had three TVs showing baseball, basketball and football, kind of the same sports vibe it had when it was located on Center Street. If you like Cheeseboard, you will love Sliver!

Fox News on repeat at this "pizza with a social conscience" place... The irony. We asked the employees to switch the channel as the Fox News segment was actively spewing false information, and they said no. Didn't even want to engage. We mentioned that we felt disrespected and disturbed watching this segment and they just shrugged and ignored us. Photo proof provided. Great food, dishonest messaging about their so called "mission".

Honestly i never bought pizza from this place, it's usually my friends or my colleagues who bought this pizza whenever we have party. I do love the taste. It's flavorful. It is a thin-type pizza. One of the most recommended pizza in Berkeley

So fricking awesome omfg. Cheap good eats. I’ve never been to a pizza place that has dipping sauce/salsa and it was phenomenal.

The pizza and salad if the day were both delicious, though I was surprised there was no sauce under the cheese. The green sauce on top of the cheese was great, I just wish I knew I could get more at the sauce bar before I had finished! The bathroom situation is a little underwhelming, but I'm grateful for any customer bathroom on Telegraph. There was a trash can holding open the Men's door so I walked by some guy as he did his business 😅 But again, glad there ARE bathrooms.

Despite the pizza being good I don’t want Jesus proselytizing quotes on my pizza! WTH? I won’t be ordering there again

I’ve been here a few times— usually during happy hour. I will say, when you catch the staff before the happy hour rush, the service and food is really spot on. Once I went during a very busy time and the service was slower than I’d anticipated, but Jack was really helpful in making sure I go the service I deserved and was really gracious when my order was messed up. The food is really flavorful and the drinks are well made!

Sorry I gotta do this. Some of the best Indian food I have ever had, but you have to wait multiple hours to get fed. They are prompt to let you in, but it’ll be an hour for the drink menu, 20 minutes to the drink, maybe you order food, and then in maybe 90 minutes you get it. So incredibly annoying. If you need to hire folks, please do that (the prices are high enough). It’s one thing to see an overstaffed place where people actually acknowledge you, but to be totally ignored for an hour is not okay.

East Bay Spice Company has some amazing cocktails, and don't sleep on their tikka masala flatbread!! I added lamb–no regrets! The drinks have likely rotated off the menu, but I have to give props to the Achari Margarita, which was such a vibrant drink boosted by the garam masala rim. The cucumber shrub and lime cooled that sweet heat very well.

This place deserves 5+ stars!!! Their drinks are super super yummy at the same time pretty strong. I can tell the bartenders are very professional. If you come here at the happy hour time, you are lucky because you can have their delicious drinks with a very nice price. I also highly recommend the pizza, it probably one of the top 5 pizzas in my life. It is so unique - indian spice, curry, naan… it is a genius recipe. I just LOVE it!

The brother in the bar not only poured us drink but kept that great music going to keep this place alive! What a playlist - you took me back in time sir! That out of the way…. This place is generous with their pour, a decent chill spot where you can get your grub on while you can sip the freshest of cocktails 🍹 to great spirits shelf’d/stacked all the way up to the high roof. They need a ladder 🪜 to get drinks from the top shelf y’all! It’s really a great experience I had with my better half. I will come back and this time it won’t just be us! *10/31/2023 I really like East Bay Spice Company, and I always order their Chicken Tikka Masala with naan and basmati rice. The chicken breast is cooked in a special oven with yogurt and spices, making it really tasty. I like to have it with a Trinidad ting drink, which has tequila, amaro, bitters, pineapple, and lemon, making it even better. The Chicken Tikka Masala is consistently amazing, and the drinks make it even more special. I also tried their Original Tikka Masala Flatbread, which is made with naan, onions, cilantro, mozzarella, and tikka masala sauce with a choice of protein. 8/14/2023 East Bay Spice Company is my go-to spot, and I'm always drawn to their Chicken Tikka Masala served with naan and basmati rice. The chicken breast, tenderly cooked in the tandoor with yogurt and spices, creates an irresistible masterpiece. The experience is elevated with a glass of Trinidad ting, featuring cimarron tequila, angostura amaro, angostura bitters, pineapple, and lemon, which adds an exquisite touch. With consistent excellence, the Chicken Tikka Masala remains consistently exceptional, while the carefully curated drink pairings elevate the overall experience to new heights.

Really good music, with a very cool staff. I was trying to Shazam a song & someone kindly noticed, asked if I was able to get it -- I hadn't -- & he said it was The Internet. I felt surprised he'd noticed my struggles & took the time to say something. A very considerate & aware person on the staff there. Appreciate that gesture & the super adorable drink that made my night

What a great pub! Wonderful atmosphere, good beer selection, very friendly folks, and nice happy hour perks like free popcorn. Darts, pool, and board games all available as well. Prices were reasonable - just be aware it's cash only, but there's an ATM in the front.

This is always one of my go-to pubs when we dont know where to go. They have trivia days you can sign up for in advance, board games, dartboards, and a pool table. The pool table is $8 per hour and darts are just $3 or something like that to rent. You can also get a popcorn bowl for $2 or something like that with free refills. They also have a ton of draft beers to choose from as well as wines and cocktails Make sure you bring cash!!!

Have only been here once but it seems to be a popular local spot. It's got an awesome selection on brews, plenty of seating and even freshly popped popcorn. Loved my experience here. Did I mention the games? Pool table and darts!

I️ love Albatross pub for many reasons, they have a great selection of beers and cider on tap, and also have fine liquor as well. They do not serve food in the pub besides a popcorn machine and crackers that’s it, but they allow you to bring your own so you can walk across the street or have your food delivered to you. This is a board game friendly place if you come on a weeknight evening you are able to get as many table tops needed to play as many games as you want. They have darts and a pool tables as well. I️ love this place and have had so many drinks and memories here.

Fun hangout spot with dart boards that isn't too heavy on the wallet. Wish the butter for popcorn were better tasting.

Such a cool, chill spot. Amazing ambience, filled with a great mixed crowd of grad students, intellects, and other locals who all share a love for beer and conversation. Darts in the back. Unlimited popcorn for $1. Delicious beer at great prices. Lots of room available for groups, with books and crannies for two people to find a spot to chat privately.

Yikes, this place may have made the 2nd worst drink i have ever had in my life. I actually felt sick from it later but more of a stomach ache, not nausea. The place is disorganized into 3 separate rooms and 1 of which has pool tables but the walls are too close to play a proper game. This place used to be awesome but its pretty much a bad dive bar now. Won't be going back. Sad though what happened to this place.

First time here last night celebrating a friend’s birthday party. We arrived around 9:00ish and to my surprise it wasn’t nearly as crowded as I assumed it would’ve considering how crowded it was outside the bar, but in the later hours the place was packed. The service and choice of beers were nice. The prices were decent as well.

Great experience coming with a big group of friends for live music + dancing. Be sure to bring your own water bottle. They have a filtered water refill station, but cups are $1. Not many bathroom stalls available but they were very clean and well stocked.

Luckily the line was short and we got our pizza quickly and got a small Green Sauce and it was worth it! The pizza was good and greasy and the sauce helped but the grease and add some heat. The soft serve has great texture. Would definitely return again if you're looking for a great vegetarian pizza.

The Cheese Board is a Berkeley gem. The pizza was excellent — with one carefully crafted flavor offered each day. Even the vegan option was impressive and full of flavor. On this Wednesday evening, a live band added to the vibrant atmosphere, making the experience even more enjoyable. Although there was a long queue, it moved quickly and was well worth the wait.

Honestly, some of the best pizza I’ve had in my entire life. They change the flavor and today’s flavor was roasted eggplant and basil. Make sure to get the green sauce to put the pizza in. Totally recommend if you are in the area. Have refreshing soda as well as live music 10/10

Cheese board is simply the bests I have been going here for more than 20 years since I was a kid. They do one type of pizza per day, with rotating menu using local in-season ingredients. You can buy by the slice or a half or whole pizza. They also have a daily salad and a dipping sauce. It’s all vegetarian. I don’t live in Berkeley any more, but make sure I visit every time I come back! The crust is a chewy sourdough and the cheeses are always on point!

This is something out of the world. The guys are running this place for more than 20-30 years and serve only one type of pizza everyday. And they don’t repeat that type on the other day. You need to wait in a queue for over half an hour for your turn. But the tase is amazing and pizza really juicy and well prepared. Atmosphere is very raw with a band of some old guys playing live music of seventies. Its a must visit place and if you love pizza than this should be on your bucket list.

One the best pizza in the US, at least for this style. There are long lines but it moves fast. It is fast because there is not much to choose from, each day there is a single flavor of pizza. I put 4 ⭐ in atmosphere because sometimes there are bands and the music is too noisy for such a small place. Also 4 ⭐ overall because there is only one flavor per day so there are days that I can't eat there because that day they have onion. At least I can see it in advance on their website. But the pizza es very good, so I recommend it.

Incredible venue -- feels small but isn't. The acoustics were perfect for an amphitheater. Also, easy to grab a nice dinner then walk to the show from one of Berkeley's great restaurants.

What a venue! Recently saw Modest Mouse & The Flaming Lips here and didn’t know what to expect with the venue since it was my first time. It is stellar! The weather, the views (of the stage and the surroundings) - it was magical. They also empty water bottles you can refill yourself and you can bring a small backpack with light food items. You can also bring seat pads and blankets. Check their FAQs for all the details. A ‘must go’ venue for sure.

This venue is one-of-a-kind as you feel like you’re basically in Europe. “The Greek” is absolutely an achitectural gem. While it rained most of the time I was there, witnessing an incredible sunset for a minute just made me smile. Good acoustics for a music concert. Really had a great time here.

The Greek is a great venue, maybe my favorite in the whole Bay Area. It’s very well maintained and managed by tons of friendly staffers. The sound is amazing from anywhere. There are great food and drinks options where the lines never get too long. I would recommend bringing form seating pads for the concrete seats and/or blankets if you’re up in the lawn section. It can get chilly after the sun goes down, so bring layers.

Beautiful venue. Amazing view. Clean and easy to get around. Saw Counting Crows there last week and Atmosphere a few years ago. Both amazing. One of my favorite places to see a show.

GREAT VENUE!!! You can't beat the view we had even with cheap general admission grass section tickets... which is tiered so it's not just a grassy sloping hillside. Billy Idol rocked the Greek Theater's roof off of this open-air venue. And the opening act Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are always fun! The food was rather good compared to a lot of similar venues... I had a tasty beef brisket sandwich and my wife had a beef hotdog on a brioche bun, along with tater tots and jalapeno cheese nachos. The tasty local beer was ice cold for me and a perfect Margarita for her. Though she's not a "rocker" type like me, she really enjoyed the music that took her back to her teenage years! What a great time... highly recommend this venue! Traffic getting in and out was a little nuts so plan for that..... maybe go ahead of time and grab some food to eat in Berkeley... in our case we carpooled with friends so timing did not allow for the extra curricular fun. If it wasn't a Sunday night, we likely would have stuck around in the area and took advantage of what Berkeley's got to offer!

A freaking GREAT concert venue!! They have all types of bands and musicians. It has gorgeous architecture in the Berkeley Hills. Right there at the top of Hearst street on the University of. California campus. From the Greek you can see the Campanile Clock Tower and incredible sunsets over the trees. General seating is at the upper level on the grass. First come, first serve reserving a spot. It’s at an angle which can get sort of uncomfortable over the course of the show. And of course your blankets will get stepped on as people dance and walk around. I don’t think they allow lawn chairs. Mid level are big step. BRING A SEAT CUSHION or your butt will hate you. But it’s totally cool looking. The way the seats curve in a semi circle around the arena. And of course people in front of you want to lay back after awhile so that’s a little weird. Haven’t sat here in a while but I think these are reserved seats. Lowest level is called pit level. The absolute best area IMO. Plastic folding chairs are reserved seating. It is kind of right shoulder to shoulder but so what. It’s a party down there! You’re pretty dang close and can see everything really well. I personally like 8 rows back or your neck will suffer. Music can be loud down there. Lots of restrooms. Lots of food and drink huts. And even at least one water refilling station. Entry and exit are a breeze. My only gripe is the merch area is too small. I know all the good places to park around here. Or use a garage but getting out afterwards is a hassle. Several hot dog cart vendors after most shows. Looking forward to my next concert here!

Nice indoor-outdoor space with an impressive lineup of beers, including sours, pilsners, lagers, IPAs. Tried the Light & Day and liked it so much I bought a four-pack to go. Did not eat but the Detroit-style pizza looked good. Prices are not obvious, so be careful if you're on a budget. Liked everything about the place but the bald, bushy-mustached bartender who, in my experience, is a tool who may display his dislike for you for no apparent reason.

The beer is pretty tasty and so is the food. We got two pizzas to share between 5 people and that wasn't enough. For the price, we expected the pizzas to be larger. The flavor wasn't quite the classic Detroit style, but it's good enough for a brewery. They do have vegan options which is pretty great. The space is large, plenty of seating. Parking was no issue at all. Lovely area. The service was quite good as well, everyone was super friendly.

Beers: tried and true top-notch Bay Area brews; famous for their IPAs. This visit they still had a bit of their Dill & Ted's Excellent Pickle Lager left in the keg, and it was soooo good. Some lazy breweries will serve you a pickle lager by simply tossing a dill pickle into a lager as they serve it to you. Fieldwork at least makes the effort with the brewing process, and again, it is really good. Had zero idea Fieldwork also does Belgian-styles, and they had a handful on offer that day. Abigail, the Belgian Strong Ale, and Nénette, the Belgian Pale Ale, really hit their marks. The Abigail slightly more than Nénette, but they're both basically on the bull's eye separated by inches. Didn't have the food, but friends who frequent this joint say the hack here is to put some of those kale leaves from their Caesar in between a couple slices of their pizza. Can't speak to this. Didn't try it. Caveat emptor. Service from Denay and Mati was courteous, professional, and friendly. Bonus points for personalities. Industrial part of Berkeley, so parking's probably not atrocious. Unknown of there's a BART station anywhere near here. Drive, bike, scooter, or Uber here. The space itself is the main brewing facility for everything Fieldwork. So, this is a weekday-busy real-world working environment. You will smell the beer in its various states of the brewing process. This is normal, so do not be alarmed. As for the taproom and outside patio seating area, it's all fairly hip and modern, adhering to the overall Fieldwork vibe. Plenty of comfy shirts, glassware, and other merch available. They are too cool for stickers, even though they are a family-friendly environment.

Celebrated my friend’s birthday here after reserving a table. Best experience ever. I believe his name was Ted, a manager, was incredibly helpful to our whole party. Let us use their fridge for the cake and made sure everything happened to plan. Couldnt have been more kind and accommodating. My hope is to meet more managers like Ted. Thanks Ted!

When I moved here 6 years ago, Fieldwork was my first stop from the airport with my tiny kitten in-tow. Fieldwork has consistently been a wonderful place to visit - working through covid, expanding outside food, then adopting in house food that slaps! It has been great to see your business grow and thrive, and I look forward to my future nostalgic trips here when I’m back visiting in the area.

Bobby G's looks like a casual fun place to have a meal with friends and family. The menu is pretty basic Italian foods you would expect at a casual dining restaurant. It has tv's around to watch a game and enjoy your food. For me, the food was just ok. I did not really enjoy my food. I ordered the chicken Parmigiana, stuffed breadsticks, and the Ham & Gruyere Panini. The best out of the 3 was the panini. It had thick slices of ham and crisp bread. It was a little dry and could have used more of the garlic aioli. The Chicken Parmigiana looked great with a good sized cutlet but it just lacked in flavor. As for the breadsticks, it looked great but once again lacked in flavor. I love stuffed breadsticks or stuffed crust but this was just bad. It was too much bread versus stuffing and the cheese had no flavor. TBH, Pizza Hut's stuffed crust was far superior to what I ordered here. It also did not help that this was the last to be served to us despite it being a "starter." I asked about it after having been served the main dishes and although they said that it sometimes takes a while, I frankly think that they simply forgot. If the STARTER takes that long, first they should inform the customer upon ordering AND they should perhaps ask if they want their main courses first AND they should perhaps not list it as a STARTER. The staff were all very friendly but just lacking in service. No one checks on you nor provide refills on drinks. It was more self service in that I had to repeatedly go up to the bar for help. Overall, the food was barely ok and the non-existent service, I would not come back here.

Went in at about 2:30pm yesterday to grab a bite before the Chaos & Carnage show. The guy working there was extremely friendly and personable as was the other customers in the establishment. We got the eggplant parm, chicken parm and fettuccine alfredo along with a side order of the meatballs. The food was absolutely delicious! My son even said several times through out the night and told a few other people as well that "the Bobby G's is worth the drive" just to come and have the food and enjoy the atmosphere. There was talks of starting karaoke there as well so I'm sure we will end up coming for one of those times but in the meantime will certainly come back for more food.

This place does not have the Mac and cheese pizza pictured. However… They do have a super sweet SF Giants fan bartender that looks like Edward Norton, with a killer playlist and the best pizza I’ve had in a while and a great selection of brews. Everything was amazing and the pasta dishes are on my Berkeley to do list now forever. Only regrets, not getting more blueberry cider and not giving my phone number to said “Edward Norton.” 5/5 stars. Clean bathroom too with reasonable parking nearby.

One of my favorite East Bay places when I want to eat local and great food. The fresh ham sandwich with arugula is life changing. I order that sandwich alone twice a month. The pizza is awesome. The wings are fantastic. Seriously, the wings are GOOOOOOD. The salad with grapefruit is a must. I love this place. One of my top 5.

Was looking for a nice place to watch the warriors game. This place had lots of space and for good reason. Their pizzas are super expensive and they don't serve alcohol (probably recently lost their license). We paid $40 for a 12" pizza. Reread that. 12" with a couple toppings was FORTY bucks. Ugh. Definitely not worth in the future. And no beers or drinks. Other than that, sure, whatever this is a normal pizza diner place.

Totally honorable slice of straight up pizza, great selection of brews, Great staff, and a convenient location in the heart of downtown Berkeley. I'm normally not a pizza and beer kind of guy, but tonight I made an exception and I'm glad that I did. Their meat combo was cooked perfectly crispy just around the edges the meat was good, Beer was great, I ordered the propaganda ale. I would give this place 5 out of five stars except just so many screens playing so many basketball games made the place kind of noisy I had to shut it out to focus on the delicious pizza. But I highly recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood who likes pizza.

Great place for watching game. Loud. Food is ordered and brought to table. Wings were done right. Garlic bread was warm. Moist and cheese melted. Beer selections are good. Our order missed the pizza that was made to go and server was apologetic. Appreciate the customer friendly atritude. Pets are allowed that makes it a welcome place. Fast and casual. Recommend it.

As others have mentioned, it’s still a good spot, but there’s definitely room for improvement. We ordered two cheeseburgers and Brussels sprouts. The food arrived quickly, and the server was really friendly and attentive. The food was "good" but not exceptional. We didn’t mind since we were looking for a quick bite and really enjoyed the service and ambiance, but we probably wouldn’t return specifically for the food.

It’s a very happening place right in front of Berkeley Law School. Went for a group gathering. Very specious. The ambience is so great. Loved it! Although I felt the quantity of appetizers was comparatively less. I had piña colada mocktail- pretty decent. And pop tates- which was good.

The food was very yummy. I had a Blue & Gold burger which was tasty and filling. She had a Cobb salad, which she enjoyed. The service was friendly, competent and prompt enough. We were impressed to hear the music from the band that we were about to go see at the Hearst Greek Theatre playing in the background! Kudos!

Impressive building with high ceilings and comfortable seating, both inside and out. I went alone but this would definitely be a good place for group gatherings. Vegetarian options available. I had the veggie burger, which itself was great, and it came with a liberal portion of fries. Will certainly be back.

Great range of beers and cocktails, good food, the staff are really friendly and helpful, there's plenty of outdoor seating in the quad behind the main bar. But it is LOUD.

This place was solid. It's just really far out there to get to for me so I had never visited before. The wings were good but a little overpriced. The alcohol selection was good and the food had a lot of variety. The bar set up seemed awkward and a nuisance for the 1 bartender that had to go from one spot to the other to get different kinds of beer from the tap.

Went here for the first time with a friend from out of town, and it was the last time. The man taking orders was great at describing each of the beers on the menu, but wasn't super friendly. We got a flight, but it seemed like some of the beers tasted similar to others so we couldn't really tell them apart. In the middle of our conversation, we hear a leaf blower power up, and the server was blowing a single leaf out of the main room. Everyone had to stop their conversations because the blower was so loud. An hour before closing, we got the feeling that we should scoot out the door, like we were overstaying our welcome. There are other Breweries that are more welcoming, so we'll head to those.

Love gilman’s programming and beer. Their menu (and hours sometimes) are not available online. I wish they consistently had a vegan option. The Joyride pizza before was fantastic, and now they don’t have anything vegan sadly

Possibly the best food vibe of the thee in the area given Detroit Style Pizza offerings. Brewers are caught in a paradigm of skill that is not to the level of Great Notion nor Fieldwork. Love the community of consumption and will quaff more and more onsite—glad your here just up your skills per batch.

Gilman is a solid spot for Detroit style pizza & some brews. There is covered & uncovered seating outside & some indoor seating. Dogs are welcome inside & out. The pepperoni pizza is terrific—crispy pepperoni on top & crispy edge pieces. Reminds me of Prince Street Pizza in NYC. Several solid brew options, too. Multiple solid, juicy hazy IPA. Will be coming back.

I had a very enjoyable time at the Gilman Brewing Company. I drank mainly saisons. I enjoyed the vintage car show at Gears & Beers. The food from the food truck and also in-house tacos were excellent. Parking was easy to find and tables to drink and eat at were plentiful. They offer a good menu of beers and there is a gift store to purchase apparel and growlers to-go.

We come to Gilman often to hang out and love it, but we recently had our wedding at Gilman's 920 space in August and it was absolutely perfect. We were looking for something casual but nice for ~80 guests and the space was more than enough for all of us, a dance floor, a photobooth and more. Extra shoutout to Micheal who coordinated with us for probably over a year as we navigated the challenges of COVID, coordinated vendor requests (e.g number of tables, arrival times, feasibility of different arrangements). They were so responsive and kind and helpful. The day-of was all we hoped it would be. We had come by earlier to pick out the beers which was the best kind of tasting. And then we brought in wine, had a caterer for food, had a DJ, and brought in a couple extra tables to supplement the ones they had. There was fridge space so we could store the cake. Bathrooms easily accessible. We were able to lift the doors to provide a larger direct entrance to the space and for the extra airflow. We received so much help and support from ("Can we have a churro truck?" to "Can we hang decorative umbrellas?") All of our questions were always answered quickly and empathetically. Pricing was always super transparent and fair. We really could not have asked for a better venue experience. If you're considering having your event at Gilman, this is your sign to do it!

An amazing venue with good acoustics and views of the stage. We caught the Anda Union show last night which paired wonderfully with this space. The proximity of the stage and musicians made the event more intimate and enjoyable. The parking structure next door was very convenient.

I went for the Choir Choir Choir show, wow, what an outstanding adventure in song and music. The staff was so helpful, and very professional, especially the lady at the box office named Manisha, who was so kind to guide me and my date to the doors. I can't believe most of all these folks are volunteers, how incredible! The food and drinks were delicious, so much healthier than usual concession booths. This was such a fun experience, I hope to attend more events here in the future.

It is an absolutely beautiful intimate venue. The staff was fantastic. The acoustics are excellent. $8 for a 12oz beer. If there's someone you enjoy that is booked to play here, don't hesitate.

Went to the open mic and wow what a great show. Wasn't all thar impressed by the "guest performer" but the local talent was off the hook.

We didn’t have reservations for the night of Sarah McLaughlin’s concert, however we were sat immediately and Maria our server was wonderful! It made our experience to Berkley that much better! Great food!

I’m giving this four stars mostly because I was a Cal student and have a lot of nostalgic memories of this place. However, the food is good and the service is friendly. All very standard pub food served by a very Berkeley mix of mid-lifers and students. It's a nice place to meet friends.

The Henry's Burger was pretty good, cooked as requested. Food arrived within 15 minutes. Pleasant service. Reasonable price for a hotel restaurant. This is my third visit to The Graduate Hotel, and probably the 5th time I've eaten here. The food has been remarkably consistent.

We ordered 4 drinks! The kitchen was closed by 8.30 p.m. so we didn't get to try the food there. Cocktails are so disappointed! Beers are meh....But the service was amazing! We honestly told the bartender, Greg, that we didn't like the drink so we kept trying. I like the service, the atmosphere, the cleanest bar! I thought drinks are really good prices compared with most bars in Berkeley. They served espresso in the morning from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. with pastries. The menu is very limited. They only have like 10 dishes available. They do not taste very good and are very highly priced for mediocre portions. The “chicken pot pie” is not a chicken pot pie at all. It is just chicken soup and a piece of bread. Scam. The oysters are worth trying.

After the first game of my life that I attended at California Memorial Stadium after walking through the Haas School of Business, I ate for the first time in my life at Henry's on Durant. About 41 years ago, I was an undergrad with very few dates and even fewer opportunities to eat at such a landmark near my alma mater. I let my nephew-in-law with my undergrad degree but he has an An Arbor MBA buy me a smash burger for $18. He had the same with an IPA while I drank water to keep hydrated and to watch my blood pressure. It was glorious with bacon and cheese, but the bun was dry. No service except at the bar. But I was glad to get this off my retirement things to do.

Maybe they’re overworked, maybe they were having a bad day… in any case, the staff were surprisingly rude. Plenty of better options half a block away

Nice venue, deceptively large. One of the most accessible venues of its size I've seen maybe ever. Lots of bars, nice staff. Hate to drag a contemporary, but the lighting for Murder By Death was a little one-note, but I'll admit I was looking closer than most. (But like. I know those Mavericks can do more than 2 gobos dude)

Nice multi-floor venue. Merch at front and inside along with drinks and food. Everything is well kept and staff are hardworking and keep the vibe positive. With a big sold out show the venue gets packed but a decent venue overall. Great experience the three times I have been here.

For a music venue, it's a beautiful building. It was my first time coming here for a concert. Sound was OK. Area is questionable. Several people got their cars broken into while at the venue. Drink prices are ridiculous. 7 dollars for a cup of ice with a shot of soda. Will be back. Just be careful of the area and know it's expensive to drink there. Staff was friendly. There are plenty of good places to eat near the venue. There is no ins and out during the concert unless it is smoking.

free water is a life saver here, it gets so hot here, especially with a sold out show. stage is pretty big and the sounds awesome. always a good time and show here. although the merch line sucks, it gets really crowded and everyones stuck in one line for everything

Pretty chill little bar. Came here on a down night and there were only a couple patrons, quiet atmosphere. Honestly it was just what I was looking for to grab a beer and jet after. I enjoyed the atmosphere, definitely a cozy, small college vibe. Come by and get help from the knowledgeable staff here.

Went on a Saturday night around midnight and it was silent. The female bartender was kind and asked us what we wanted as soon as we sat down. However, when we were actually ready to order, the male bartender sat on his phone and didn't acknowledge our presence. We left without ordering and most likely will not return. I wouldn't suggest this bar to the younger crowd.

Pay in cash. Great music taste. Don’t play Sister Nancy Bam bam. Everyone plays that song lol. It drives the bartenders nuts. I remember running and getting seltzer for the bar tender, Lauren I think. Make sure they have plenty of seltzer. Especially if you drink by vodka sodas. This place kept me sane when I was living there for work. I miss everyone. The best people you’ll ever meet.

Drinks are cheap/reasonable and the bartenders do an excellent job keeping the creepers away. A man was making a female friend feel uncomfortable outside a window and the bartender pulled the blinds down and also warned us that he was still in the area when we were leaving. A+ work when it comes to keeping customers safe!

It is a very low key tiny bar that is complete with a juke box, which is very popular with it's regular customers. But when not in use the bar is a comfortable place to enjoy a fantastic dirty martini with friends and hear your conversation.

Fascinating use of old saloon doors in the men's room, making a small room even smaller. No big guy number twos. You know what I mean? Good whiskey, good conversation, boring beer, boring gin.

Our new favorite spot. Excellent Tuesday happy hour so we have decided to make ourselves regulars. Great atmosphere and cozy with excellent tapas food, cocktail, and wine. Great find!

Beta Lounge came through in the clutch. There's not many places with a chill vibe, good food, excellent drink specials and WiFi that's suitable for a late co-working session. This place is close to the University, and they are out on Summer break so I'm sure that factors into the low-key vibe. Nevertheless, it's a nice neighborhood spot. We will be back!

What the ****! Did I just pay $14 for 1/4 of a package of frozen spanakopita from Safeway???? Same with the $10 guac and chips. What a rip off. I’m fuming right now

Dear San Francisco at Club Fugazi is just an amazing must see show. The acrobatics that these highly trained people perform is just so mesmerizing and well thought out. The whole performance is mesmerizing and at times jaw dropping. I recommend seeing this show for a memorable night in San Francisco.

There's magic in this theater. The performance is pure energy with a lot of heart and love for San Francisco ❤️ The strength and agility of these performers is incredible! If you are thinking about going...GO!

I thoroughly recommend seeing the Dear San Francisco cirque show that has been playing at Club Fugazi for five years. It's a perfect night out: fun, unique, good food, and great service. the venue is beautiful with an amazing history that the MC explains at the start of the show. Dear San Francisco itself is 90 minutes of intimate, in-your-face, gravity-defying circus with top notch performers. The show feels relevant with great inside SF jokes and a universal appeal - I think it would be perfect for kids (7 and up?), teens, a date night, or a corporate event. We attended our extended family of 9 people (some tourists some local) and EVERYONE loved it!

I saw welcome to San Francisco. First off the truffles were amazing. The staff were amazing and they know it. Great customer service and atmosphere. Love theatre kids. Troupe was actually insane. The acting was amazing. Zoey schubert is already out of this world incredible and somehow has so much more potential too. Joëlle Ziörjen took my breath away in the first five seconds. Her expressive eyes brought tears to my own. And obviously I have to mention how much Dominic Cruz looks like Mitch grassi lol.

Club Fugazi is a FANTASTIC experience!! The entire atmosphere is upbeat, positive, and highly entertaining and a perfect way to celebrate our 10-year old granddaughter's birthday. Audiences of all ages will love the experience. Don't miss this.

Cool inviting atmosphere right at the entrance. Fresh contemporary decor with high ceilings and lots of seating spaces indoors and outdoors. We ordered chicken nachos and it came loaded with chicken and every ingredient possible on this dish. The dish was enough for 3-4 people when they’re very hungry! It’s a huge plate. Next door Mezzo that’s a sandwich shop is connected from the inside. Happy cooks make great food, especially when the servers are happy too. I love this place. It’s my first time here and I’m certainly coming back.

This place is surprisingly great! Really beautiful interior. There is an indoor fire-pit, beautiful outdoor space. The drinks are good beer selection is good. My wife and I enjoy grabbing drinks here on our date nights when we are in downtown Berkeley. It has a lot of college kids because of where its located. Only issue I have is the bathrooms are not always as clean as they could be and the shuffleboard table is not maintained so the pucks definitely slant.

I love this place but I’ve only been here once. I came with my daughter and four children. And the children are little… From 2 to 10. I like this place because it’s the only place in Berkeley where there’s room for the children. We sat and had our meal and the kiddos could play a few different games… The noise level was high enough so that the children’s noise didn’t matter, but not too loud. Of course we came right when they opened but still it was really nice.

Great atmosphere inside and out but the biggest down side is their AV system, very chaotic and pretty dysfunctional. They do not prioritise Cal games and the staff has a real difficult time controlling the AV equipment. The owner needs to hire a professional AV company yet they have not and it makes going back not easy...

Stopped by here with a friend after Axe throwing. It was almost midnight, but still a decent number of people here. I had a few drinks, and they were really good. Cute little spot. I'll definitely be back...especially for Taco Tuesday.

CDFs include art deco decor, original chandeliers and sconces, the tall (still amazingly unpainted) inlay redwood paneling, high ceilings, paneled columns. The high quality replica art by Klimt could use an interpretive panel but we all have smart phones. Mirror-glass bar and swanky furniture is differentiated and somewhat kinda-compatible. DJ and associated playlist technically does not meet the SIS but is removable in the future, thereby the music — while loud and emo — is consistent with standard 10. Good selection of spirits and attentive bartenders and staff. Photogs note: lighting on backbar is heavily backlit, so bring a maglight if you want to read the labels, and clean your camera lens if you want to take a not-smeary picture.

I had a glass of wine on a Friday night. Nice atmosphere, upscale bar with classy patrons and friendly bartenders. They had a DJ , he was playing some nice sounding background lounge music. It was boring for my personal taste lol. Perfect spot to have some drinks and conversation in a nice environment and being surrounded by real redwood and art.

This bar was lovely. The elegant entrance, leading to a high-ceilinged space accented with stunning Klimt-inspired artwork, immediately captivated me. The drinks were excellent, and the burgers and truffle fries were absolutely delicious. While the service wasn’t the best—requiring effort to get the staff’s attention when needed—they were attentive and helpful once they noticed us. They could intentionally look around for customers' needs instead of chatting with each other. Additionally, the round tables we were seated at by the wall felt rather small for a group; larger tables would have been more comfortable. Despite these minor issues, I still give it a 5 out of 5 because the overall experience was fantastic.

Hands-down, my favorite bar in San Francisco. Classy, classic, sophisticated, stylish and yet low-key. The bar is something to just simply marvelous. The etched glass, the under lighting just gives it such an cool speakeasy vibe. The drinks are great, the only place that makes a Chocolate Martini that I actually enjoy. The hosts and the bartenders are awesome, and the lobby is just a thrill to be in with incredible furniture.

Historic, iconic and gorgeous. Best spot in Union Square for grabbing drinks and food with friends. Their Halloween and New Year's Eve events are epic.

TLDR: muted flavor from the chai, $6.25 for 8oz is very overpriced We came and ordered a cardamom bun and two drinks. The masala chai was not spicy at all admins had very muted flavors. The iced Karak chai surprisingly had a stronger tea flavor but no other flavors stood out, just a strong tea flavor. Also paying over $6 for an 8oz pour just feels too much. I did enjoy the outdoor seating area

This place smells like Cardamom heaven even before entering. It is a really nice Tea and Coffee place with some snack options. I really liked Salted Jaggery Latte with cardamom bun. Sitting area is ok, and mostly occupied with students. They offer free wifi and therefore it is hard to find a spot. Service was great!

staff are lovely. elaichi bun was my first cardamom bun ive ever tried and it was AMAZING! their take on it literally tasted like chai, with such a rich flavour. i loved it. their matcha is also amazing. highly recommend trying a rose matcha—you can add any of their syrups to it

The attention to detail that was placed in creating this cafe is remarkable. From the music, the prayer room, liquid trash disposal, neatly labeled cabinets, and on and on. When someone places this much attention to the smallest of things, good things are bound to happen. Their chai is always consistent, day after day, it takes wonderful. It’s balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter, just right.

First time visiting this place so went for their classic oat chai. It was smooth and lightly spiced. Very good, definitely would try one of their specialty drinks next time

Did not try any food. Went to a event it was on Friday night. Not crowded as I thought. Overall the music was good. A lot of throwback from 2008 to 2015 just a range of different throw backs and also new songs. Just wish the music was a little better add more newer songs have the crowd dancing more. It was ok maybe need to try going on a Saturday will try again or add a mixture of music Spanish and English will bring in more crowded

My wife and I finally made it to this spot. The drinks were great, the music was okay... but dance worthy. The crowd was okay too. However, it is located in Berkeley, so it is understandable for the crowd type. We sat at the bar major of the night, but danced around our seating area. People were friendly and welcoming. Had a slight issue whey the bartender and what I noticed he was doing for some, but not others. However, he and I spoke and he rectified the issue. Hopefully, we won't have any issues moving forward in the area of the issue that I brought forth. Other than that, we will go back again. Maybe on a Saturday to see if it is a diffrent vibe,

Opened a tab. Accidentally forgot my card at the bar. They charged a 60% tip. Card was stolen from behind the bar and used for a $160 lunch the next day. Shady place and manager. Couldn't even find the transaction when I came to find the card and asked me to leave.

$50 for a preauthorization fee??? On one modello??? With no clear signs at the bar and no phone number to call??? And if that wasn't bad enough, once I got my Lyft to come all the way back out there from fruitvale to ask why there was suddenly $50 being taken out of my account, the bartender who I spoke to about the situation was EXTREMELY condescending to me. Most bars I go to do *not* have this fee and the ones that do it's NOWHERE near that high. I was excited to see this bar under new management, but this bougie, unfriendly vibe isn't it.

My friend has been trying to drag me here for weeks so I finally caved and we went. Not a big fan of this location but once inside, its a perfect little haven with good drinks and great staff. There's a big space inside and it looks like there's potentially for a lot of cool things to go down in here. If dark and divey is your jam, head on over!

We used to come here when it was Barbarian. It’s under the same owners but they’ve attempted to glam it up. The portions and quality are terrible now. I got 3 pieces of chicken in my extremely subpar tikka masala. What you see in this picture cost $42. I was also charged $6 for 2 soda cans and they had the audacity to charge a $10 automatic gratuity. For take out! I will never go here again. I was scammed by their website prices which are not updated and was absolutely shocked by my $63 bill when it was shoved in my face at the restaurant. I’m all for spending a lot on good food but this was NOT good food!!!

I went to tap in last night had a great time, food was amazing but when I woke up this morning my card was charged twice. 2 different transaction amounts leaving my card negative. I've been trying to call the lounge for the last hour and no one is answering. They keep hanging the calls up.

I am south asian and was excited to check this place out. I walked in and asked for a menu. After handing me a menu, the white boy working there started the interaction with " this is an arranged marriage situation, where I get to choose everything for you off the menu". So offensive, maybe dont hire people who dont know how to interact with south asian women at your south asian resturant? Afterwards I read the reviews and saw a Black woman had a similar but far worse experience with the staff. Would absolutely not reccomend this place, you will not be comfortable.

I am a regular visitor here ever since I found it. The vibes are immaculate and there is a speakeasy in the back. It is such a nice environment with friends when you order happy hour bar snacks like popcorn chicken with tikka masala sauce, not to mention the $10 flatbread specials on Wednesday, and the beers on tap. Everything is so good here and the staff is lovely.

This place is top notch. I’ve been going here for about a year now and the service has always been great, food quality always top notch, and service/atmosphere is always friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for anything from a casual bite to eat to a fun night out.

Nick's was a not-so-surprisingly good time...I mean really you can't go wrong with cheap drinks and karaoke. My friends and I arrived at around 9ish on a Saturday night and this place was already overflowing with music and patrons. The inside is relatively small for the amount of people occupying the space but as time went on people cleared out. The drinks were pretty cheap. Managed to get 3 shots for a little less than $20. This place is cash only so please bring your coin purse. The karaoke line was pretty hefty but we managed to sing two songs within an hour of being there (not so bad) and the MC/host was super nice and even backtracked on a song we neglected to come up for. The atmosphere was super chill, everyone was friendly and courteous. The crowd even cheered and danced while we butchered No Scrubs by TLC. Great way to spend a Saturday night, no cover, cheap drinks and tons of songs to choose from *inserts smiley face* Only negative is its really small, so if you are with a group of 5+ you may need to divide and conquer.

I come to Nick's when I want to socially drink, meet some fun people, and listen to great music. The crowd is always friendly and supportive of singers of all talent ranges, and their library of songs is impressive and always growing. It's a bit of a small venue (which becomes an issue on busy nights) and the Karaoke DJs aren't always the best, but this is a very solid karaoke bar that I enjoy quite a lot!

I enjoyed the karaoke but this place is really small and their drinks are slightly lacking. They have great deals but don't really have much to work with. They don't have energy drinks or other fancy mixers. Expect a divey feel.

The bartender with the beard is pretty rude, so be prepared. Even if you're with a large party, he makes everyone buy a drink from the getgo before they'll play your song, not just the person putting in the request--even if you're designated driver he makes you buy their overpriced sodas (every other place I've been to gives free sodas to drivers in a large party).

Kind of a dive, so don't expect them to have all the cocktail ingredients you may require at the bar, but the atmosphere is upbeat, clientele if varied, and they have a lot more karaoke songs than are actually in their book, which is always nice. I wish there were more dedicated karaoke bars in Oakland/Berkeley, but for now, Nick's is my go-to for when I feel like goofing off in front of a room full of strangers.

I found this spot on Google because I really wanted a tasty lunch and drink, but I wanted to try somewhere different. It was about 4 pm when I arrived and it was not packed. All patrons were at the bar, so I sat there as well. The bartender, Hayley, greeted me warmly. They have Happy Hour from 2 pm to 5 pm daily. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger meal and it came with fries. I ordered that from the regular menu. It was $17 (I think) Hayley reccomended the Blackberry margarita when I asked what flavors could she make the marg. Oh.. she also Guava was good too. I ordered that from the Happy Hour menu. It was $10 with $1 extra for the flavor. They make their burgers medium well automatically. They have a special sauce that taste like tikki sauce. I got it in the side because I was unsure if I would like it. However, I wound up putting it on my burger lol. They made my bacon crispy, not burnt. Exactly how I requested for it. The fries were good too. The drink...soooo yummy. I had 2 lol. Hayley was very accomodating, friendly and warm. She is in the pics. I told her that I will come back when she is working, so I can bring my wife because they have $1 oysters and she would love that. Also, I think she would like the overall vibe and tasty drinks. I reccomend this spot for anyone looking for a cute and quaint spot to eat good food and get their libation on. They have a full bar and other food items in their menu for all types of patrons.

I’ve been walking by this place for a number of weeks in the morning and always wondered what the vibe was when the sun went down. Or some of you for my generation when the street lights went out. Cool vibes and all ocean themed - from the decor to the drink menu. Staff were friendly but you do need to wave them down at the bar to get orders in if you sit at the booths. Came here on a Friday night at 6:30 and didn't have to wait. Bar seats and booths available but the booth benches are a little uncomfy. Food was your typical bar bites, and there were a few beers on tap. But the cocktails are the main event here. The drink selection was wide, creative and featured exotic liquors that you usually don't see - e.g. Brazilian cachaça. All drinks have cute names like Siren's call or Birth of Venus. And all of them were a hit! The recipes are listed on paper with ingredients - if only I'd get these funky ingredients together at home! Will return for more of these cool concoctions.

I really wanted to like this place since it looks very cute on the outside but unfortunately due to the poor service and rude staff I will not be returning. We were a party of four and very patient with staff since it was somewhat busy but our bartender/server (person with black hair in a ponytail and dark makeup) was incredibly rude and their service was lackluster considering the price of food and drinks. We arrived later at night, however since the establishment is open late we thought it would be fine. We were told to sit down and waited about 20-30 minutes just to see a menu, and were only given one menu for the whole table. When our server was finally ready to take our order, they were incredibly rude and condescending the whole time. At the table our server announced they were out of the majority of their menu and that they were also out of many mixers that really should be stocked at a bar (no cranberry juice or orange juice?). I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and a drink, and waited 30 minutes for our table to get our drinks. I would’ve understood if it was super busy but there were maybe 7-10 other people in the bar and most of them were not consistently ordering drinks or food. Our food took forever to come out and I was not given my sandwich. I wanted to ask our server if there was an update on my sandwich as I would’ve been fine waiting longer but our server did not return to our table for the rest of the night. Once again, I would understand if the bar was slammed but it really was not that busy in terms of people actually ordering drinks. I never even got my order besides my drink. When it came to settle the bill, our server acted like we were trying to pull one over on them when we wanted to split the tab, and made us walk all the way back to our table to “make sure” everyone was paying right even though the other folks at our table were staying and had a card on tab. When it came to tipping, the server stared at us in an uncomfortable way with the card reader visible while we were choosing which tip to pay which made me feel weird, and made me feel like I had to tip more even though I received very mediocre service. The drinks were okay but really nothing worthwhile considering how lousy the service was. We will not be returning and I will not be recommending this spot to people I know.

ok so bear with me here. this is like the tiniest silly thing to be thrilled by when everything else cool about this place is more interesting (the mermaid arts! the creative cocktails! the tikka masala queso!) but like you know how a lot of the time cheese fries look more exciting than they are because all the topping is on top? the ones here do not have this problem. there is sauce on all the fries. they were crispy and flavor balanced the whole way to the bottom of the tray. this is terrible for my calorie count but amazing for my heart. also the charming snake shaped mug brought me great joy. needlessly adorable thank you.

Really like the vibe of this hipster dive. The drinks are great, especially the Vesperado for all my Mezcal lovers. The food is all vegan, and while I liked my kimchi hot dog, it does seem to go down awfully fast for $14; in other words, not quite worth the price but I appreciate their playfulness in creating the menu. Cocktails, I will definitely come back for!

Really cool ambiance inside. I have not had any of the custom drinks but I did stop by on my lunch and try the Lion Dancing dog. Very good! The lady bartender was very nice and welcoming too! Definitely will be going back to try drinks/more dogs. Update 6/20/25: tried a few drinks and they were wonderful! I had the pretty privilege & baby boy...oh and another Lion Dancing Dog.

Stellar experience. I mean a hotdog with a cocktail what else could you want. The atmosphere is super cool it’s well designed. The drinks are great and the hotdogs are bomb. There’s just a pretty fun menu here in general. It is loud but realize why you’re here. It’s a bustling vibrant bar with spectacular drinks, great staff and fun menu.

East Bay’s BEST bar! This self proclaimed martini dive bar still manages to be fresh and modern and sexy. They offer complementary popcorn, always have great music (soundtracks or DJs!), their food is vegan, the drinks are shaken with absolute VIGOR, and the service is top tier for the industry. A special thanks to Den for being such a gracious and personable owner, Sunny for always having the best rapport with guests, Julian for keepin it real, Max for witty conversations, V for being a badass sweetheart, Dani for the most loving queer vibes, Michael for his easy smiles and easy demeanor, mellow Jeanie with her finesse for the craft, Dave’s vigilance at the door, and of course Jordan (especially when wearing a tank top haha!) Tough competition for my favorite Oakland bar, but this is it. Somehow magically appeals to every demographic while still having a strong identity and great prices on excellent drinks. Big fan of the minimalist design that still feels cosy, with a monolithic bar and textured walls it somehow feels uncrowded while still being intimate and generally packed. Absolutely love this place, love the cheekies, love the cocktails, love the staff. If you're going on a first date or meet up I'd try to get there earlier in the night because it will get full and can be hard to hear each other. Free popcorn!

This bar is an absolute vibe inside, the interior design is beautiful. The bartenders and bouncer were all super friendly, and it really feels like everyone was enjohing themselves. Love how interesting the menu is, but we had the lychee martini, chamoy shots, and green tea jello shots and nothing was particularly good.

FANTASTIC. Cocktails: creative spins and excellent execution of classics. New inventions are incredible. FROZEN ESPRESSO MARTINI HEATWAVE $10 Dirty martini Industry specials Vegan hot dogs, and all the industry bar bites anyone could want! Don't be shy of the vegan word- I'm a carnivore and loved it. Another great spot in Oakland just opened!

The kitchen was out of a lot of staples so certain menu items were unavailable. While the location wasn't busy it took quite a while to get our food. The chicken sandwich was lackluster at best. The most enjoyable parts of the meal were the fries and the sour ale we ordered.

Went here before the Cal men's basketball game. Not a wide tap list of beers, and 80% of them were unavailable anyway. This used to be an institution and it has totally deteriorated. Don't see any reason to go back.

Food poisoning after the chicken wings!!! It wasn’t even that crowded and I waited forever for my buffalo wings. When I asked, the server said she couldn’t find me and she brought it from the back. Now the worst part: thanks for the food poisoning !!! Been on the toilet and puking all night. Never coming to this place again!

Visited here on game day and it was great place to have food and drinks beforehand. Definitely an older crowd around, but as we’re older it suited us fine. Away from the craziness in other bars. Nice seated area outside and selection of craft beers and food was good!

Great location for food and drinks before or after campus events. The owner/chef/management is new fall 2018. The menu selections for individuals or groups is great. Also, it's a comfortable place to dine alone.

Not sure if it was a low staff night but things just seemed slow. Otherwise - beer was cold & food was warm.

Not the best and it caters to am older crowd. Has all the potential in the world but isn't utilized as a late night mainstay for college kids. Good burgers tho

This was a fun little brewery. I especially liked being able to order at the table from your phone and then bringing your drinks and food straight to you. The beer was great. I tried the GOAT Maibock, Earth to Beer Kolsch, and Hawk Hill Hefeweizen. The maibock was my fave of the 3. There are bench tables plus lawn chair table seating arrangements. Staff was awesome and very family and pet friendly.

A lively, dog-friendly spot with a great vibe, even in a less upscale neighborhood. Perfect for a casual hangout with friends. Highlights: Lemon Shandy – Light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer afternoon. Black Bean Burger – Crispy with decent flavor. Sweet The Creamery Pop-Up – High-quality homemade ice cream. I had the "Fresas con Crema," which would have been even better with chilled strawberries instead of warm ones. I just wish they had more vegetarian options with creative sides. Overall, a fun and welcoming place to relax and enjoy good company!

Neighborhood favorite! Love the vibes and the staff is super welcoming. There are heaters for night when it’s cold :) love the smash burgers and all the sandwiches on the menu!

The perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day with friends! They have something for everyone — even as someone who isn’t a big beer drinker, I loved their ciders, especially the Humboldt Cherry. Great beer for the beer lovers too! The laid-back atmosphere, friendly crowd, and dog- and kid-friendly outdoor space make it a must-visit. Highly recommend!

I always wondered why there were so many people at this place. Now I know. What a great place to go for burgers and beer. The best burgers I’ve had were at the Bangkok Hilton on Wireless Road (now gone) and at Freshness Burger in Tokyo (especially with avocado). Now I’m adding Headlands Brewing to the list. I think it’s a mixture of some secret thing they do to the patties…seasoning? Charbroiled? And the buns are so soft and yummy. And the sauce must be some secret Mayo based recipe. Be sure to get the smash burgers deluxe if you like lots of lettuce & tomatoes in your burger. In and Out and Mel’s … sorry, no match. And I rarely eat burgers or drink beer, and their beer is so good! Kid, dog, young adult, and senior friendly.

A wonderful counter service restaurant with outdoor only seating but lots of shade, heat lamps, and fire pits. Our counter server, Jen, was very friendly and helpful, as were all the other employees we interacted with. They had a large selection of beers, delicious smash burgers, and a kids menu. They are also dog friendly if that matters to you. Highly recommend for a quick bite or a couple of beers.

The decor and service here are wonderful. The food is delicious, well prepared and presented. The Grand Cafe goes for well executed main stays of French cuisine, like some of the best steak au poivre or duck confit that I have had in SF. The weekend Brunch is particularly good (and not overly crowded).

The Art Nouveau decor is the star here; the food and the service have improved considerably since our last visit. Large portions of reasonably well prepared French brasserie food. Good for pre theatre dining. Very popular, which makes it very noisy.

Came here for drinks and then ordered some light appetizers. Wine selection and cocktail choices are fabulous! Definitely try their California Sauvignon Blanc. We ordered the grilled octopus appetizer which pairs really well with the fried avocados and citrus fruit that comes paired with it. A little bit on the pricier end, but would definitely come back for a special occasion.

This used to be one of our regular pre-theater spots, and I would have given it more stars a couple years ago. You used to be able to sit in the bar and get some great deals on both food and drinks, but my last few experiences have soured me. My favorite duck pizza was cooked entirely wrong (seriously, the wrong ingredients, and an inedible crust), and the great deals have disappeared. Sadly, my wife, Miranda, and I have been forced to seek out new haunts prior to A.C.T.

The Monaco is a great place for lunch (it is rarely full). the food is good, not great, and the service is just right. It is also only two blocks from our usual downtown hotel, the Prescott.

I came here for brunch. I ordered squash soup, trout and my friend ordered eggs benedict. The food was just somewhere between fair and good. The trout was cooked very well but the flavors fell flat. The soup was just ok--both the texture and flavors were unappealing. Eggs benedict had good Hollandaise sauce but one of the eggs was overcooked (not soft-boiled) and the pork was dry and chewy.

The staff was extremely friendly and polite. The food was superb and the decore was thought out to even the small details. Only bad thing I can mention about them is that their desert selection is rather bland.

The service was super slow for the patron to employee ratio and the chili on the chili cheese fries was a god damn abomination. I think serving that stuff would probably be a misdemeanor in Texas. Beer selection was ok and the actual fries themselves were pretty good though.

Most "pints" are about two ounces short, so the name is a bit of a misnomer. Decent selection of beers though. Dogs and burgers with interesting twists, and fried snacky stuff.

Decent enough food. Kind of bland and they've gotten my order wrong once or twice. Decent small beer selection and prices are reasonable. It's a small college bar, and a good place to grab a quick drink and watch a game or have a team meeting in the back over lunch/beers.

Nice place but hard to get anybody to be accountable, I talked myself into working on music again and $1200 of studio time and 4 songs later they said they lost my files and nobody will respond to me about a refund or free studio time to re record all my music over, I’ve text the owner and the engineer but no luck.

The room smells like smoke, some of the lights are broken, the engineer didn’t do much and wasn’t professional and when my song was sent to me, the song ended halfway, and the result of the so g is rough not like you in the studio, the ppl give the 4 stars i lyer , you can see and come there you will look what im saying I would give 0 stars if I could, not recommended!

This studio has an indescribable feeling to it. It's calm presence made me feel at ease and my creativity just flowed through. The Grill has top of the line gear, but the staff is what makes it special. They made me feel welcome, and were not intense about their studio. I always meet someone new during my sessions since it's a hub for Bay Area creativity.

Anyone that answers their phone at 6am for studio time deserves 10 stars!!! Some friends flew in from NY and needed studio time asap. We called the grill studios and Anthony the engineer saved the day! The studio setup was dope and the engineer was super attentive. Thanks again guys :)

I’ve never been in a Studio before, but I really take music as my fashion. I don’t know what does it feel been in a studio? I wish I had friends that can help me make a beat, unfortunately I don’t have anyone to teach me how to make music!

The jasmine rice lager, Vietnamese coffee lager and mandarin wheat ale are all excellent, balanced and sessionable. These aren’t gimmick beers. Beers for people who like beer. Good service and food from Nextdoor burger joint was great too. Check it out!

Good beers, good vibes, great service. What else can you ask for? Went for trivia night this week with quite a crowd and had a fantastic experience. The bar space was bright and airy, the Olympics were on, and the beer was cold. Mix of house beers, with a special focus on lighter lagers and rice beers, with some outside taps. Everything my group tried was tasty, and it's a fresh set of flavors. Service was friendly and very attentive. The food next door is very nice as well.

I really enjoyed this brewery! I came in for their Monday mahjong event where the owner Simon will teach you how to play (Simon, please buy a new set of dice). Really interesting beer selections: I got a Jasmine rice lager, also sampled the hojicha cream ale and Vietnamese coffee nitro). One patron purchased an apple cider with a shot of apple soju... twice! Great ambiance, there were some regulars who came by to watch sports on the TVs. As the name indicates, it's a tennis themed brewery. Fun, casual, not too loud spot that seems like a nice place to turn into your regular hangout if you live close enough!

A great emerging space that deserves to have a full house most nights! The beer is quality (try the milk tea amber for a unique treat) and the 310 next door is great as a food option. I went to Wednesday trivia and had a wonderful time, although it would definitely help to have a dedicated trivia host if possible to avoid pauses in the game while beers are being poured.

Really good beer and great vibes, the owners take a lot of care in the space and the community. I loved the Mandarin Wheat & my wife liked the 5 spice saison. The brewery is connected to the 310 Eatery next door so you have a great full food menu to order from. Family friendly, we'll be bringing our toddler next time!

The vibe of the venue is very laidback and fun. The staff is incredibly friendly, I always feel comfortable and at home here. Please give this spot a try if you haven’t already.
