Daewangam Park, one of the twelve sights of Ulsan, offers a serene forest trail through a 100-year-old pine grove that provides an aromatherapeutic experience. The park features Ulgi Lighthouse and a coastal trail connecting to Seuldo Island with stunning views of mysterious rocks and the vast East Sea. Legend has it that the park's name comes from a Silla dynasty consort buried under a rocky island who vowed to protect the country as a dragon even in death.
Great park, perfect for the family. There are spem several trails you can explore and there are certain attractions or sights to see such as the bridge, lighthouse, the dragon shape islands, and rock formations by the coast. There are also places to eat, shop and playground for kids.

We really liked this park! It's an easy walk to the suspension bridge and lighthouse. Continue to the end to reach the rocky outcrop where the scenery is just gorgeous. We spotted 3 cats too 😁

Daewangam Park, with its striking beauty and mythic past, is more than just a scenic spot. This park is absolutely stunning, and there's no better time to experience its beauty than at sunrise. Walking through the park in the coolness of a summer morning, before the heat of the Korean summer kicks in, is truly refreshing. The calm atmosphere and the fresh morning sea air make it a perfect start to the day.An ideal place for pet lovers with a walking trail and a rocky beach.

Great views when you go during sunset time. Do note that there is a closing time also as well.  We were the last few groups allowed to go in, and there weren't many people behind us. It does take a short walk also as well to reach the suspension bridge, but nothing that is too physically taxing.
SL W — Google review
Absolutely stunning park with nature enveloping every corner and captivating viewpoints. The Hanging Bridge and Sea Bridge stand out as the park's highlights, adding an extra layer of beauty. The cleanliness and excellent maintenance, coupled with the unbelievable free entry, make it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and casual hikers. Ulsan's gem of nature indeed!
Ramesh K — Google review
Daewangam Park has a fantastic hanging bridge with a great view of the beach. The area has a god cool weather as it is located in a foggy area in Ilsan Beach. The suspension bridge is only one way. The exit is different way, so take the most memorable photos for your reference. You can see a big dragon statue where a small playground has slides for children to play. NO Entrance fee. It's free It is very convenient, nearby restaurants and coffee and hotels, Ilsan Beach is good to add to your activities.

The park features walking trails, a botanical garden, zoos, playgrounds, and seasonal events such as the Tulip Festival and Rose Festival in spring.
The biggest park in Ulsan. Everyone has a lot of fun here! For picnic, you should visit here.

My favorite park! I love there, there are so many activities for kids. You need one day to see all and walk around. There are vending machines for drinks and some stores at the enters. It is free to enter, expect the flowers and the zoo.

Ulsan Grand Park is a large, beautifully maintained green space that offers something for everyone. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes, open areas to relax, and various activities spread throughout the park. It’s clean, peaceful, and full of life — you’ll see people walking their dogs, families enjoying picnics, and school groups on outings. Especially now, with the trees turning vibrant shades of red and gold, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the crisp autumn air.

Rose Park is situated inside Ulsan Grand Park, near to the south gate. This place gets beautifully decorated during rose festival, generally in the month of May. During Christmas also, the park is open for visit. Small stalls with different handicrafts and street foods will surely attract you. A nice picnic spot with family and friends; kids will enjoy the playground and open space. The park and washrooms are clean. Easy to reach through public transport. The parking system is good. Mostly 2000 krw fee is needed per person during the special exhibitions.

This is a great place to visit anytime of the day or night. If you are going for a morning walk there are exercise machines to use not far from the lake. Also there are places to sit down and have a picnic with the family on the weekend. There are some stalls located at the entrance of the park. And on the other side of the lake. Great places for photos. There's a windmill there. Also if you keep walking through the park there's a very good war memorial with some old military aircraft and tanks. A must see is the main memorial really a good place for remembrance. If in Ulsan this is a MUST see park.

This place is quite amazing. It's spacious. Has playground and the good part here is you can really spend time with your family.

The Ulsan Museum, located in Ulsan, South Korea, is a must-visit attraction offering a unique experience for visitors. The Whale Ecology Exhibition Hall within the museum showcases the region's rich marine biodiversity and emphasizes the importance of whale conservation. Through interactive displays and multimedia presentations, visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of whales. Additionally, the museum provides a comprehensive understanding of Ulsan City's identity by presenting its history from prehistoric times to the modern era.
Really big place with lots of room to visit. It's not crowned and you don't need any tickets to enter. You'll learn about ulan's history (especially with Japan), mechanics etc. Plus there's a children musuem, very children friendly. I really recommend it!!
Astrid G — Google review
The entrance fee to the museum itself is free but if you wanna try the vr experience you have to pay ₩10,000, there is a 50% discount for children and Ulsan citizen. The museum is big with few exhibition halls. The most interesting one is the immersive interactive room where you can enjoy video mapping and interact with the screen summoning animals. There is also coloring space and sticker rally about artifacts displayed at the garden. If you live in Ulsan or nearby, this place is worth to visit and spend the weekend at since it is also close to the Ulsan Grand Park.
Himmah Q — Google review
Ulsan Museum is a well-designed and informative museum that’s free to enter, making it an excellent stop for visitors. It offers a clear overview of Ulsan’s history, culture, and industrial growth, with well-presented exhibits and English information available. The building is modern, clean, and spacious, and the surrounding park area makes it a pleasant place to explore before or after your visit.
Karen G — Google review
One of a typical local museum. its free to enter. So why not when you have some time in Ulsan. But here you can see how Ulsan industry developed. Especially Hyundai.

If you're traveling to Ulsan, South Korea, then the Ulsan Museum is a nice place to spend a few hours. From the history of different dynasties, to pottery and industrial revolution, this museum has everything you want to learn about Korean history. There's a section for your kids which I found admirable. Also a small restaurant in the first floor that serves noodles. A library and a Circle Theater are two great additions to the museum too.
Sarwar R — Google review
Ulsan museum(울산 박물관). A beautifully designed place located in southern district of the city. It is disappointing that there are not much of a thing to see for the lack of contents and artworks. Am I wishing to much a metropolitan city living more than a million people has a great museum with its invaluable historical artifacts loved by researchers and students who study and learn?
June L — Google review
Nice facilities! good weather! if you have a chance to Ulsan, take a short look around Ulsan museum. Especially with children, they provide place amusement and entertainment with historical figures of Ulsan. However its content is not satisfactory in terms of quantity with the short history.
Eunsang Y — Google review
Ulsan Museum stands as a captivating window into the region's diverse history and cultural evolution. Exhibits span from ancient artifacts to contemporary innovations, providing a comprehensive journey through time. The museum's architectural design mirrors Ulsan's modern identity, creating an engaging space for learning and exploration. Visitors can delve into the city's industrial heritage, maritime traditions, and artistic achievements. Interactive displays and multimedia installations enhance the educational experience, making it suitable for all ages. Ulsan Museum is not just a repository of artifacts; it's a dynamic institution fostering a deeper understanding of the city's past, present, and future.

The Jangsaengpo Whale Museum in Ulsan is a small but fascinating museum that showcases the history of the Korean whaling industry through artifacts, fossils, and interactive activities for kids. After whaling was banned, the area has transformed into a whale-themed tourist destination known as Jangsaengpo Special Whale Culture Zone.
Nice little museum. You get to you about whales and whale hauting in South Korea. You can have a stamo tour inside. There is a slide for kids. The souvenir shop could be better (more whale themed). You can enjoy a capsule train moment but it’s a separate thing. Nice sea view. Very cheap entry tickets. Nice little souvenir market near by. I recommend trying the whale watching tour near by.

Not specific, go to the whale museum, but the warship museum is also an interesting place to visit, just next to the whale museum

Ulsan Is known as the whale-city. Near the harbour you can find the whale museum where you can get information about whale hunting in the past and more about whales' characteristics. A nice place to visit, especially in the evening because of the lights.

I was excited seeing the love dolphins.. they play like pets at home.. it was so nice but i couldn't understand when the show started and when it ended.. I was just waiting for the show to start but they said it ended surprisingly.

The museum is in a beautiful building- the inside is very basic - very little info in other languages than corean - I expected more than some skeletons - the world of whales is so interesting and we have so much studies about them but at the end not gong is really exposed in a more detailed way , one would ecxpect my a specialized museum - Aall in all nice but basic maybe enough for children -

Whale Museum is part of the Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village, where you can spend half of the day doing different things. The museum has 3 floors and is mostly focused on the history of whaling in Korea with real examples of different specimens of whales. Everything is in Korean, but you can get the information before visiting. In the other building close to ROKS is an aquarium with dolphins and small fishes, observatory on top of the building is open for sight seeing.
Elena K — Google review
Interesting complex of museum's, old whaling boat, cultural village, tram ride, old battleship, whale Watching tours, and other small areas of interest. We went when they had their annual "Whaling Festival" so there was live entertainment, beer festival, food festival and other items for children. There is onsite parking and small admission fee for some areas. Look in pictures and you can see a price list. About half of the display boards in the museum only have Korean storyboards that explain the whales, cultural tie in and so forth. That being said little children may be bored. But, to peak their interest their is a long slide that they can use to go from the third floor to the second where the exit is. The whaling boat is free to go on and just outside the entrance to the Museum. Also in the immediate area is the whale watching tours and entrance to the overhead Tram Ride to the cultural village. It is 1.6 km long and very interesting. You purchase tickets for a time slot and then come back to the area at the appropriate time and wait. Overall it was an interesting experience.

Taehwagang National Garden, covering around 830,000 square meters, is a picturesque blend of woodlands, meadows, and barley fields. It is renowned for its pristine Taehwagang River and a 4-kilometer-long bamboo grove. This urban oasis has been recognized as one of the top 20 ecotourism destinations in the country.
Beautifully landscaped and preserved park. Wonderful plants, paths where people can walk barefoot, areas where they can pitch their tents and rest. It is a place where you can find peace with your family on weekdays or weekends.

Visited Taehwagang National Garden (태화강국가정원) on a weekend, and it wasn’t too busy. The autumn colours were beautiful, and the park had plenty of small areas to explore, including a lovely bamboo forest. The information centre was helpful, and entry is free. We took a local bus there for just 1,500 KRW each. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

So. So. So. Nice. Pleasant to connect with the nature and spent some time with family. Did a picnic at one of the bench and did some people watching.
Yi N — Google review
태화강 국가정원 Taehwagang National Garden is a gorgeous bamboo garden in Ulsan. It is beautifully planned, and the bamboo path stretches a few kilometres - making it an outstanding nature place to walk/exercise. If I live in Ulsan, I would literally come to this place every week to just take a walk and admire the beautiful nature. Foreigners tend to flood Seoul & Busan & Jeju Island, so Ulsan is pretty cosy with less foreigners. I highly recommend adding Ulsan to your Korea itinerary - it is a hidden city gem.

One of the most beautiful park that I have ever visited. The park is so large, you can find several beautiful flower gardens, pink muhly grass, water fountain, and also experience visit the bamboo forest! very recommended place to go with family with kids and elderly. Many people lay out mats and picnic with friends or family. Some were cycling, walking leisurely and sitting on a bench by the water fountain. I took many beautiful pictures, it was fun and really great place to relax.

The park is beautiful!!! This is really a must if you ever in Ulsan. It's so big and it has a lot of different types of flowers. You can take a stroll, ride your bike or even have a picnic. It's pretty accessible! I wanted to say much more time but I had to go back, ilthis is definitely a place I'll come back to!
Karla M — Google review
No idea under what festival this park is now, 2022.05.22, but this National Garden Park always becomes super beautiful with various decorations and plant works. Sun rays a shot to our head and neck, but the hot sun, with green leaves and smells and flowers, makes feel fresh and alive with sense of summer almost here. Under a stone bridge from the Garden Park to Bamboo forests, the swamp looks like it is breeding its own eco system underneath water grass since I can see some birds landing on the surface to dive to grap fish with vivid sound splashing. The entire district of this place is beautiful awesome.

It is also very accessible, with multiple entrances and many public transportation options nearby. Overall, Bamboo Forest Park is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Ulsan City. Its stunning natural beauty, diverse landscape, and wide range of recreational activities make it a truly unique and unforgettable experience. A very big park that is good for work out and also family gathering. There are a lot of young adult camping and also eating ramen. Haha. The flower bed created by the Govt is beautiful and a lot of local resident is admiring the flower in the park. The red flower bed is a total Lastly is the main highlight which is the bamboo forest. Give u a vibes that u are totally out of the city area and return back to the nature. A must go location if you are here. Do not miss it.

It’s the first time for me to see this large bamboo groves. Local people like to walk on the path with bared feet. I was irresistibly drawn by the fragrance from the nearby chrysanthemum garden. There’re also some other beautiful places in surrounding area.

Nice beach to enjoy your summer. Not only that, you can also go around a small island not far from the beach. You have to go around this island because it has a good view. The island has coral and you will see views of the sea and coral and tall trees. It’s really good.

A very Long Beach where you can relax , watch people surf and play in the water, the waves were very strong and fun and you can also see an island. There are many restaurants and cafes just around the area. If you visited Ganjeolgot this beach is just on the way there. You can visit both places in the same day.

The place for windsurf as it quite windy. Sometimes too much to fully enjoyful the beach with kids due to sand blow. However a nice place to spend a sunny day.

A calm, nowheresville beach on the east coast north of Busan and south of Ulsan. It does not have the glossy cafes you now find in larger coastal spots, which I liked, as it reminded me of 90s Korea.
