The 23 best spots for fried chicken in Detroit

I have been meaning to cross Green Dot Stables off my list during my work trips to Detroit, and finally went. It’s a fun spot, has a great vibe inside and the service is incredible. The sliders are hit or miss, but they’re small so if you don’t like it you don’t have to suffer through a massive portion. If you want bang for your buck and to try a bunch of different things this is a spot to check out. My favorites were the regular cheeseburger and the fried chicken sliders. Also their fries are fantastic and I really liked the Mac n cheese, honestly those two alone make it worth a stop in.

I ride by this place and keep saying "I got to check this place out." So two nights in a row this was the dinner date spot. We aren't even into horse racing. (That's the motif of the establishment.) Watching the horse racing was cool and Watching the tigers beat the Yankees was great. The food was amazing. The beers were delicious as well as the cocktails. Highly recommend for a date night.

Loved how cheap this place was. Each mule was only $4.50!! The sliders were great. I loved the Hot Brown (grilled chicken, bacon and cheese) and the Cheeseburger slider the most. The Mac n cheese was also delicious, along with the chicken paprikas soup. I didn’t like their BBQ sauce much on the BBQ slider, but that’s just because it was a little too sour for me. Would totally go back.

HIDDEN GEM…HIDDEN GEM!!! I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this place. The selection of sliders is the longest I’ve ever seen! My cheese was was bursting with taste ( and cheese). The PB &J was true comfort food. Bai meah was surprisingly good. Falafel was a little dry. Cool atmosphere and service was pretty quick. My cucumber salad was excellent!

So I let my son leave a review today. His thoughts: 4 out of 5 only because the grilled cheese was cheesy, and the PBJ slider had to much peanut butter 🤣 Fries 9 out of 10. We love this place. Lastly he said we only had to wait 15 minutes to get our food =Winning!!

Great place for little bites! Wide selection of sliders & side dishes. Place has nostalgic feel to it. Full bar. Fun games available outside and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. Try their mystery meat slider!

UPDATE: Went back and had a blast! Update to the menu looks like the Cuban is no longer. Can't wait to come back already! END UPDATE:: Everything was delicious FANTASTIC!! Have to say that you should do everything you can to come experience Green Dot Stables. Food, service, atmosphere all top notch. The sliders that we tried were delicious and perfectly prepared. Can't wait to go back and try the rest, seriously, we will be back sooner than later. Drinks are on point also and they have the Long Drinks! Everywhere I look, everywhere I go, they do not have these or are out, even at a wedding reception once! Not here, was so happy and worried they would run out I ordered 2 right away!

Absolutely fantastic first visit! We ordered the half chicken with beans and mac and cheese, and every bite exceeded our expectations. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and had just the right amount of spice—it was both hearty and satisfying. The sides were delicious, especially the mac and cheese, which was creamy and comforting. What truly elevated our experience was the outstanding service—our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the meal so much that we ordered extra to take back with us to Toronto. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be returning!

Cool and eclectic with a rustic charm and classic blues playing overhead. Servers were friendly and attentive but it's the chicken that's the star of the show. Wow! Flavor that I can't describe. Spicy but not lighting your mouth on fire, it's the perfect blend of flavor and spice. Try the chicken sandwich. It's not like anything you've ever had. They make it with boneless thigh I stead of breast, so its not dry and its full of flavor. Love it!

Well damn if it isn't done of the best fried chicken I've had. Their claim is it's world's best, and I'd but be pressed to find much competition. Even a fries and okra, we're absolutely delicious.

Chef Gordon 👨‍🍳 personally asked us how was the food. Everything was delicious and no long wait for fresh food. Ms Jones our server and chef Gordon were extremely courteous and professional, and made sure our dining experience was worth sharing. Not too pricey!

It has been so long since I’ve had Gus‘s world, famous fried chicken. From what I can remember, the food here was good; however, everything that could be fried on the menu, was fried on the menu. Personally, I don’t appreciate to feel sluggish after eating and would prefer some lighter options. Nevertheless, if you are going as a treat and don’t mind some big back activities, by all means, give them a try but for the love of your arteries, do not go every day.

BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH!! It is so juicy and perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice. Their coleslaw and Mac and cheese are also amazing and go great as sides!

Spent $80 on 3 meals no drinks for carry out. Waited over 40 min. Chicken was seasoned ok but coulda been cooked crispier. Pieces were soggy. Mac & cheese shouldnt even be called that. Literally taste like noodles absolutely no taste no seasoning no cheese smh. Mash & gravy had big thick pieces of skin & not mashed well. Turkey chops super small and were cold. Insane that yall are charging so much for very lil portions and its not even good. Dont know what happened here but the food and prices used to be decent, i only went tonight trying to give one more chance & i think our family is officially done with bakers. Terrible! Save yourself a trip & Take your money elsewhere!

We arrived at 4:30 as the time on the website says they open at 4 pm. We were told the kitchen would not open until 5:15 pm. so we got a drink and said we would wait. We asked for a topshelf long island and topshelf margarita. We could tell she was not the bartender based on how she was making the drinks and having previous experience as a bartender. There were also little bugs flying around as if the counter had not been cleaned off last night before they left. We asked if could sit at a table while we waited for the kitchen to open. She said yes and we listened to the young lady on her personal call from the time we entered the building. She never came to table to check on us or anything. We asked if we could have a menu when we finally could get her attention at 5:38. At this point she bought over two glasses of water and no menu. A couple came in around 5:45, they sat themselves and the young girl immediately came over with menus. At this point I was very annoyed. Another young man finally came out the kitchen I asked him if we could have a menu as we had been there since 4:30. He immediately brought over the menu. I don't know if he said something to her or she was finally listening, but she decided to come over and check me with her attitude, and told me that she not the waitress and proceeded to tell me that we didn't tell her we were eating and more stuff with her very unprofessional and attituded self. At this point more staff was starting to come in. We placed the order, got the food which was good, although they put your side items in small bowls which would be equivalent to around 3 tablespoons. To add insult to injury this place now has the tip added into your bill. So you are going to tip regardless of the service. So for 2 meals and 2 drinks I spent $100.00 which I would gladly paid some place else with better service.

I was excited to celebrate my birthday at Baker’s Keyboard Lounge—a true Detroit staple—and especially looking forward to the Latin band that was scheduled to play. My sisters took me, and we were genuinely excited for a great night. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the expectations. The bar area was dirty, and there were gnats flying around everywhere. It completely ruined the atmosphere. The slow service gave me just enough time to leave without ordering. The longer we waited the more unclean things I noticed. We were so turned off that we left before even trying the food, so I can’t speak to how it tasted. It’s really disappointing because Baker’s has such a rich history, and I wanted to enjoy and support it. I hope management takes steps to address the cleanliness—it deserves better.

$25 cover although website says $15. Waitstaff was friendly & courteous but unorganized. Some people in our party never got their food. We had to help the waitress charge us properly. Tip was automatically on the bill at 17% but the service / delivery of food was sketchy. HOWEVER ... I left my credit card up their by mistake. My waitress had turned it in to main bartender, recognized me when I came back for it & I (gladly) had to show ID to get it back. This almost made up for the other issues. But I was embarrassed by the other issues because several couples came out to celebrated my husband's 74th birthday at a historic black owned establishment but received sketchy service & false advertisement regarding door charge. Then roll up the door charge into your bill, so you pay a percentage of it in taxes & gratuity. Not cool.

I was looking forward to trying this place out for more than a drink, but having read all of the NUMEROUS ACTUAL 1 and 2 star REVIEWS of disappointed people in the last 6 months, (actual reviews take the time to write a couple paragraphs of explanation), and the ODDLY disgusting food pics of what looks like thrown together and soulless cuisine, i wouldn't step near it. Which based on the decades ago great reputation, is obviously a sad lack of proper management and care. You could excuse a few 'off nights' but those seem more to be the norm here. And since the owners don't bother to address ANY of the complaints, or apologize, you just know that they don't care. Too bad.

Visited this place to celebrate a friend's birthday and the service was absolutely HORRIBLE! First of all there is a $25 per person cover charge that starts at 8pm. #2 - they charge $10 for parking #3 after waiting for over an hour for my food I canceled my order because it was obvious that they didn't want me to eat. However, when a large group arrived AFTER me, somehow they received their food promptly. THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE and until they make changes I won't be spending my money here anymore.

My husband ans I have loved going to Baker's for years. However, this visit was absolutely horrible. There was a $30 cover charge before 6 pm--when I called I was told $20 before 7 pm. We opted for the bar and carryout. Service was non existent--we had to ask for someone to take our order as the barmaid appeared too preoccupied with herself to notice eight people sitting in front of her--waiting. Our order was not right. The catfish was rubbery, mac n cheese had no taste and was dry. Black eyed peas were soupy, Yams were brownish with bland flavor, almost couldn't find those teenie 2 pieces of meat loaf and I could go on. I won't Ever go back. Horrible food, service and experience.

The best! This place is a hidden gem in a shopping center. Before you even walk through the door the sweet cashier is already greeting you with friendly words and a beautiful smile. Don't expect to walk in and walk right out, perfection takes time. This place is spotless. Super clean and wide open kitchen. I Ordered Mr. Richards special, four pieces of fried chicken, greens, Mac & cheese, and yams. So much great food. The fried chicken was lightly breaded not allowing the breading take over the taste of the chicken. The Mac and cheese is no Kraft it's fresh made deliciousness! The greens aren't spicy just fresh. Had the pleasure of meeting Ms. E-Vee, a beautiful woman who is passionate about giving quality food and a great price served by great people. Make the trip here, you will not regret it. You will only crave it until the next time.

Drove down from Lansing Michigan, And ordered Ms. E-vee's special also got the Strawberry Banana pudding. While we were eating Ms.E-Vee graced us with her presence an introduced herself. Everything we had was really good. Can't wait too come again.

Good food. Large portions... A little on the bland side but tasty non the less. I just added some salt and pepper and it was on.. They got kool aid you can buy that's premade. It looked good. Only three stars cause they forgot my banana pudding and they gave me greens instead of the green beans I asked for.

Five stars! Great food and great service! I got the Ms E Vee's special yesterday it was Soo good and I was sooooo full couldn't finish it in one sitting. It was like Thanksgiving lol Definitely going back

I have been patronizing this bizness since they were at the location across from the strip club..I haven't had any complaints or concerns..until today . The smothered pork chops were too hard for me to eat.luckily the sides were good .$17 bucks is a lot to not be satisfied .maybe they are just having a off day

Customer Service very friendly. Now lets talk food....I didn't take a pic because I dug right in! I ordered a chicken dinner great taste seasoned and fried to southern perfection! Collard greens and Mac n cheese was good as well! I haven't tasted the cobbler yet but I'm anticipating it tasting amazing!! Black owned at the cusp of the city and suburbs worth the stop if you're in the area!

I ordered the roast beef yams and mac and cheese... The yams taste like sweet potato pie and was slimy. The roast was dry and seemed like yesterday's left overs and the mac and cheese was okay I guess.... The only good thing was the staff.... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

The food was very tasty and well made. The owner was very nice towards us and the workers were very nice about everything. It feels very cozy and nice. 11/10 Will come back!

Last weekend my girlfriend and I went here and took some takeout. Now I eat a lot of chicken, but nothing came close to this. The chicken here is amazing. The people who served us also made it short and sweet, and they deserve your order. And the building itself is just a beautiful and cleanly place. 10/10 we loved everything about it that I have to go back soon. I can't praise it enough

Ordered fried chicken, beans, and a couple other side dishes. The food had no taste the chicken was good I would suggest try seasoning your food better. To charge the amount you charge at least add seasoning with that being said would not return too many other restaurants to explore

Pollo Chapin is a fantastic little lunch or dinner spot in Southwest Detroit. If you're expecting traditional Guatemalan food, there are a few staples like tamales on the menu, but the real star here is the fried chicken. The chicken was cooked fresh and was absolute crispy and delicious perfection. The side dishes range from french fries, to salads, to black beans, all of which are enjoyable. While I waited for my meal, the restaurant also provided a cup of flavorful chicken noodle soup, that puts the typical bland versions of the dish to complete shame. Worth noting that the restaurant has it's own parking lot and the dining room, while small, had several four-top tables for seating.

Very good and tasty food, such a comfortable environment, one of the best spots I’ve hit so far.

The SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour continues. The location is cool, especially outside. But a multi-story brewery with only 3 of their own beers on-tap? Oh, no. That ain't right, Dwight. A light lager, an American IPA & an altbier. And the alt was just pushing foam. 🤬 So, only two house beers. And the guest list isn't anything to write home about. Lots of lightweights & IPAs. The only dark beer was Guinness and that checks in at just 4.2%. The place is slammed, standing room only and barely any of that. A 7 p.m. concert @ nearby Ford Field (which I am attending) has a 45-60 minute wait for tables at 5 p.m. The line for beer was 20 minutes to navigate by itself. Add in all the hassle and expense of finding parking and then walking there, I can't see me ever repeating the experience. Too many other places nearby with better beer lists, easier parking and shorter waits. Cheers. 🍻

Now this was right after Lions Game, I’ll give them credit for that. But we waited forever to get drinks, then main course came and we were not provided any utensils after most of us finished our food the appetizers came and the appetizers were warmer than the actual main course. I have to say i was disappointed. Had to walk up and ask for napkins and utensils because the server barely acknowledged us. Never offered us refills on the drinks, have to say, It was very disappointing actually.

Came here to eat after the Detroit Half Marathon. Snagged two seats at the bar so we could be in and out. Grabbed a beer. Had the Oktoberfest. I ordered the Creole Chicken pasta. My friend got the burger with sweet potato fries. I was more than pleased with my pasta entree. The bread was good as well. I was hungry and put it all away, but any ordinary meal, I would have had leftovers. Service at the bar was attentive and we could sample a couple of beers before settling on one. Had the football game on at the bar. Limited seating, but it was a cozy environment.

Amazing Building, Great-Looking food coming out of the kitchen, and the dark wood, low lighting with massive brew tanks prominently displayed builds you up to everything DbCo has to offer.. and their branding is awesome - i really wanted to buy a T-shirt.. OK, time for the ironic letdown :/ There were fewer in-house made beers every time i visited(as in 2, then 1 a few times), and NEITHER is good. One n done.. so much potential.. I wish em the best. Not recommended for Brewery Vets..

The food is great! Never disappoints! Only a couple of things to mention. Had to eat soup with a fork. The tacos were delicious but I can't handle spice. I don't know what your putting in the avocado but it is hot, hot, hot!!! 🥵 Still delicious though, I just couldn't eat it. Other than that everything was delicious. We will wait to eat here.

Food was good, service was horrible. We made a reservation, which we were seated right away. Unfortunately we waited 10 minutes and then had to go to the hostess as no one came to give us waters or take orders. They apologized and said. They were short staffed. We saw our waiter once after we ordered. Never came to refill our waters or ask if we needed anything. We were done eating and we had to flag them down to get our check. I understand being short staffed, but be upfront about it. This was all before the game let out and it wasn’t busy. Two stars because the food was pretty good.

Service is very good from the host to the sever. Chloe, our server was welcoming & friendly. The beers were pretty good. But the food, we were kind of disappointed. The nachos are not $18 worth, due to it being melted cheese (hopefully cooked in the oven & not just microwaved, but can’t tell) with minuscule amount of veggies, small dollop of guacamole and sour cream. The tacos were tasty, but again, not sure how they are worth the $18 being as small as they were. The pretzel was fair, but the beer cheese had a different taste to it (chicken soup, maybe?). Again, the service was great. Unfortunately though, I’m not sure if we would be back based on the food experience and we have been coming here since it opened.

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a great blend of rustic charm and modern vibes. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely fantastic! We tried a couple of their signature pizzas, and they were bursting with flavor—perfectly crisp crust with fresh, unique toppings. Their beers were equally impressive, especially their artisan sour ales. You can really taste the care and craftsmanship that goes into every brew.

Really wasn't expecting to come here today but circumstances mess with plans all the time. Roll with it, y'all. There was parking available so I leaned into the curve. Took a look at the menu and decided on the Cuban sandwich. Comes with curry fries standard. It's a good sandwich but NOT a true Cuban. Smaller (not a problem), no Swiss cheese (2 minute penalty), no mayo and unpressed (5 minutes in the sin bin 🏒). The results are a delicious roast pork & ham sammich with pickles on it. The ham was too thick to easily bite through, too. The curry chips are awesome if a touch too salty. Service was great on both the Avalon & Jolly Pumpkin sides. Assuming you can find a place to park - the lament of downtown - the space is cool. Outdoor seating is good, inside is expansive. The 32 taps are inviting. I accepted that invite and sample a few. JP is well-known for their sours, deservedly so. Watch out, though, the ABV is not always noticeable.

Ordered the margarita pizza with vegan cheese. First time I’ve ever seen a vegan pizza not have actual vegan cheese. This pizza looks so sad I’m stunned. The cheese looks like it got fried and bubbled up to a crisp. Not melted or gooey or even a vegan cheese texture what so ever. Never ordering from here again, I’ll stick to pie-sci

Awesome pizza and a good choice of craft beers. Lots of daily deals on. The lady behind the bar who was serving, bringing the food out and clearing the tables needs a pay rise, she didn't stop, her name was Lenice , will be back. Pork pie pizza was ace

Jolly Pumpkin has some of the best pizza I’ve had in Detroit! I was so surprised. We got the margherita pizza and red chicken nachos. The cheese on the pizza was perfect, and the chicken on the nachos was so tender and flavorful. Staff is very friendly and they kept the place clean even during dinner time on a Friday. I would totally go back here again!

Prices are a little inflated for the amount of food. It was confusing how to order, where to sit, and where to acquire menus. The atmosphere is fun and brightly spacious, with a nice industrial feel. My husband got the Cuban sandwich. Cuban sandwich was on par for a standard Cuban sandwich, nothing spectacular, but still tasty. Limp pickles. Curried chips were a good flavor, without being overly spicy. The most impressive dish on our table was the truffle mac n cheese which looked and tasted delicious, according to my friend. I went with the chicken sandwich special which was a delightful chicken parmesan on a yummy roll. However, it was a little messy, and the fries were mediocre.

First time hitting up the Detroit location and have to say I'm rather happy I finally did. A lot of sours on tap, which isn't my go to, but my kid was very happy with that as she is very much a sour fan. With that said, the IPA's were outstanding so not like I couldn't find something I liked. Pizza is perfect. Crust was thin but not to the point of being floppy and unable to hold the toppings. Speaking of toppings, there were no corners cut as they were all very flavorful and high quality. The edges had a perfect "puff" with a soft inside and crispy outside. Will have to go back soon with my partner. Thank you for an excellent lunch.

From the moment we walked in, the vibe and music set the tone — warm, welcoming, and full of soul. The food was Hot, flavorful, and served in generous portions that truly hit the spot. It felt like a home-cooked meal made with love. Prices were affordable, and everything was seasoned to perfection. This was our first visit, and it definitely won’t be our last. The vibe and music were perfectly synchronized . Our waitresses were professional and articulated the menu with class! Definitely top tier! One recommendation: They could really benefit from a clear welcome or entrance sign to help guide first-time guests. Tip: Reservations are recommended—it gets busy for good reason!

It was a very nice place. I went late and found the last street parking. Not a lot of food choices, they were out of a couple things but what I had was great. I'll be back to try more. It's quite expensive and you have to take stairs. I like it though and will tell others.

I have been over a dozen times in two years as I live right outside of metro Detroit. It’s a great location to dine at before a show, concert or event downtown due to its location! It’s one of my favorite fine dining spot that offers southern comfort cuisine! My salmon jambalaya with shrimp is my favorite dish, it’s just so flavorful and worth every bite! I honestly have tried everything on their menu and overall everything is truly delicious and consistently good which is key to a successful long standing restaurant! I’m glad it’s getting the acknowledgement from foodies and the city recognizes them as a top southern comfort restaurant to dine at. Wonderful atmosphere, background music and ambience! We always take friends visiting us there for a nice evening dinner or before shows or events. Highly recommend! Staff and owner very attentive and they hustle! Make reservations especially on weekends!!

The server was absent. We went on 6/21 around 8 pm. Our server forgot our cornbread, we asked for it, and didn't get it until after we were done eating. Our drinks took a long time as well. The drinks are overpriced. My jambalaya was great. Unfortunately, the AC was lacking and I was sweating the entire time. I felt the AC turn on around 9:30 before we left. My husband got the fried chicken which he said is "forgettable." He asked for more hot sauce, and the server never brought it. The servers were chatting at the other end of the bar most of the stay, so it was hard to get our bartenders attention. Forced 19% gratuity. I don't mind this, but with poor service, it's an insult.

SavannahBlue has a nice ambiance. The location is great. Walking into the front, our hosts were kind. The waiter was attentive, but I think she was a bit busy with other tables. The catfish fritters were great! We ordered a Caesar salad, it was awfully salty and overdressed. The jambalaya was more like salmon and shrimp with jambalaya broth. It did taste good though. It also took over an hour to get our food. Unfortunately, I do think it’s overpriced for the quality of the food. I would be open to giving it another try.

Food and service are great! We enjoyed our meal and time here. And I our server was on top of our service the entire time! When you come and eat, ask for Alexis when you eat here and have an apple martini!

Loved the food, service was wonderful. Hard to find the entrance if you aren't familiar with the area, we asked and were kindly pointed in the right direction. I would go again in a heartbeat!

Our waitress was so kind and made some wonderful recommendations. I also loved how another server was willing to help us and the staff seemed to truly work together to help the customer have a wonderful experience. The drink (KoolAid Long Island - Light KoolAid) was tasty and not too sweet or strong. the Big Red and the Traditional Chicken and Waffles were both very tasty! The sides (Mac N cheese and Yams) we ordered were not the best in flavor, but they were okay. The restaurant is very clean and nicely designed. I enjoyed my meal, for sure!

The food here was good. My waffle was sweet without the syrup. The chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection. The Mac and cheese was cheesy. Now the greens was the downfall, they tasted like glory greens and the were super salty. Other than that, I give this place an 8/10. I'm definitely going back for the waffle and chicken

Highly recommend. Service was friendly and responsive. Food was great and reasonably priced. Gpod came out quick and fresh. Tuesday is $2 for whole wing and buy 2 wings get 1 free. Shrimp and grits were tasty and waffle was just enough. Drink menu has variety and reasonably priced. Music was relaxing.

My husband and I recently visited KUZZOS in Detroit for the first time in years, and it was such a fantastic experience! Known for their chicken and waffles, we were excited to dive into the menu, and we were not disappointed. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles along with a side of mac & cheese, and he absolutely loved it! I decided to try their seafood omelette for the first time, paired with the signature red velvet waffle, and it was heavenly. The flavors were bold and fresh, and I can’t stop thinking about that omelette—definitely one of my new favorites! We were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant buzzing with activity, and even better, we walked right in with no wait time! It felt great to enjoy our Sunday brunch/dinner in a lively atmosphere. The artwork and painted murals on the walls added such a beautiful touch to the ambiance. Our waitress, Netta, was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. It’s always nice to be taken care of, and she truly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, we had a wonderful time at KUZZOS and can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. The bar was dirty had dishes next to chairs Bartender was the manger also the waiter as well. I saw all this the moment I walked in at 12:45 order food at 12:53. Didn’t receive my food until 1:23-1:30 then it was the wrong chicken I order chicken tenders she brings me chicken wings so it had to go back.. then brings out three warm soggy chicken tenders I send them back… after 10 mins go by they never came back and at this point I was over eating. I asked for the manger she took the meal off the bill. I had order $10 drink once I got there.. the bill was total was 15.&change. I gave her a $20. Why the manger/bartender. Give me back 4.25…& said I don’t have the five cents…. I looked at the bill and it’s said a damn $5.10 Gratuity SHE MADE SURE SHE GOT HER 5.10 but couldn’t give me my five cents… she needed my extra cents or or the company need to hired trained happy clean people for this place. If they ever want to keep the business going. Mind you I was only. To pick my food up.. and was in there for a whole hour. This how she brings my order out chicken was removed.

This place is amazing! From the outside it looks like something you're not expecting. Once you walk in your transported to a new and totally different vibe. The food is amazing and the only thing more amazing is the staff. Be warned there is an automatic 20% gratuity charged to everybody regardless of party size. When stores add automatic gratuity to small parties I typically give one star because the staff isn't motivated. I will say however at the staff here absolutely earned more than 20% with their super friendliness, attentivness and amazing food!

Me and my gf had the tasting menu and hands down taste wise one of the best experiences from a restaurant I’ve ever had. Every taste besides the fish and short rib was a taste I’ve never experienced or had before. The spices in the food were amazing. I will say for the first 3 courses the spices were a little on the hotter side but that was a good thing. The greens on all the courses were so good and fresh. Like I don’t like cabbage at all but the cabbage they served actually was solid and I hate cabbage. The appetizer and desert were so good. Will definitely come again in future. The price is a bit much but I would say worth it.(FYI they do automatically add the 20% tip)

Wonderful atmosphere, great service; food flavorful with an array of delicious flavors. We chose the tomato salad which was super fresh, and the coconut curry noodles and chicken and the bread a must have! I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO MUSIC IN MY VIDEO!

Took my brother for his bday from a recommendation from a friend. Place is dimly lit inside with a club vibe to it. The kitchen literally looked like a Hells Kitchen TV and was extremely organized and clean. Our waiter was great with introducing us to the menu with recommendations. We didn't end up ordering any appetizers but we did order 4 Entrées. We order the Phat Krapao which had a kick to the throat so we got milk tea and sticky rice to help cool it down. We'll flavored and added the roti with it. We also ordered the Lamb Sausage which was very herby and a tad dry but very fresh. We also had the Gai Golae. Chicken was cooked perfectly but I just wanted the skin to be flamed a tad more for the crispy texture. Very light and refreshing. The star here is definitely the Crispy Fried Ribs. This place literally nailed that and gave you a mouth full of flavor with that bite. 10/10. Best ribs I've had and using the lemon basil and apple salad on top is pure genius. That flavor combo made us want to order the dish 3x more. We are definitely coming back. For dessert my brother got a coconut mango ice cream which shockingly was exceptional. We will be coming back. Job well done and our waiter was great too!

This is such a cool spot, feels like a secret being in there. The vibes were awesome and the meal was very unique. We did the chefs tasting menu. I’ll say that some of the dishes were not well balanced, overly sour or overly spicy. But overall everything was very good. I think next time I would just order off the menu. The ice cream was the best !!

Drove up from Columbus to try out this restaurant. My mother is not an adventurous eater and she would not stop raving about our meal. Definitely try the Thai milk tea and crispy fish!! Can’t wait to visit again, this was a fantastic meal and experience

Refreshing and perfectly balanced — a fun way to start the meal. 🍜 Khao Soi: The dish everyone recommends, and it deserves the hype. Rich coconut curry broth layered with flavor, topped with crispy noodles for texture, with lime and herbs to brighten everything up. Comforting and bold in every bite. 🥩 Crispy Spare Ribs with Watermelon Salad: Easily one of the standouts. The ribs are crispy outside, tender inside, with a sticky glaze that’s full of flavor. Paired with chilled watermelon cubes and herbs, it’s the perfect contrast of smoky + fresh. 🌆 Atmosphere: TAKOI is more than just dinner — the neon lighting, music, and energy of the room make it a complete experience. I ordered the catfish sandwich basket. It came with two PCs catfish fillets, two slices of white bread 🥪, Onion 🧅 slices on a bed of lettuce 🥬 and french fries 🍟. The fish was fresh and crunchy, paired with the lettuce 🥬,onions slices and hot sauce I was in hog heaven. The decor and atmosphere made the places come alive but I could tell it was a big night spot.

I visited on a Thursday for Jam Night with my Father from Canada. We had the excellent Rib Dinner with Candied Yams, Collard Greens and Mac N’ Cheese. Great vibe and friendly atmosphere. Delicious food. Amazing people and music! Waitresses are great but understaffed. Thank you Ariel, you are fantastic.

Let me tell you, Bert’s Marketplace is the place to host any event! Whether it’s a birthday party, wedding reception, or something special like a University of Michigan Panel discussion, this venue has it all. A big shoutout to Mr. Miller London for being absolutely amazing—his hospitality and attention to detail made everything run smoothly. The staff was friendly, helpful, and really made us feel at home. And don’t even get me started on the food—when I say it was Bussin’, I mean it was next-level delicious! 😋 If you’re looking for a fantastic spot to host an event, right in the heart of Detroit, Bert’s Marketplace should be at the top of your list. My family and I visited Bert’s after the Eastern Market after dark event this past Thursday, and had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was terrible we had to flag down a friend just to get a waiter. The wait was unreasonably long, and when the food finally arrived, it was wrong. I specifically ordered catfish and was served whiting instead. The chicken wings were disappointing, and overall, the meal was not worth the time or money. I was literally sick after eating that bland non seasoned food. Management clearly needs to hire more staff and reconsider the kitchen team. If I could give zero stars, I would. Never again, I’ll take my dollars elsewhere.

Authentic soul food. Took me back to when I was growing up . Sunday family dinners at grandma and auntie home. Went there to enjoy dancing ballroom. This may sound minor for some people, but I was so happy that the bathroom was clean. That’s important, it says a lot about a place and possibly their kitchen where they’re cooking the food. The bartender Johnny was awesome. He gave excellent customer service.

Don’t pay attention to the good reviews here. Place is trash in all categories. $40 and 50 minutes after ordering, we received the most mediocre food. Such a disappointment. Greasy/oily flavorless Mac n cheese. Pulled pork that was simply oven roasted and flavorless while they have a smoker rolling outside. Fatty, mushy and bland with a generic bbq sauce and an insultingly small portion. Complete rip off with terrible service, cleanliness and environment. Go find a real bbq establishment or go hungry instead, you’ll be better off…

The service was fast and friendly. The place itself was neat and interesting. 3 of the tables we tried to sit at were dirty. We got appetizers. Pretzels were kind of lacking.... Well, pretzel flavor. The Mac and cheese bites were pretty dry. The toasted ravioli was good. The sauce was nice and sweet.

Thank you to Kyle and his cooking staff for making our visit a nice one! I ordered a grilled chicken caesar wrap with parmesan garlic fries. We also had a plain cheeseburger with Cajun fries. The chef was reflecting and noticed that he did not put chicken in my wrap. I was offered another menu item of my choice and a nice slice of lemon raspberry cake (a BLESSING for sure)! Thank you again to Kyle for keeping the location clean and offering such great service to us!

First time visiting and had a great experience. Owner was very nice and friendly. Food came out in 10 minutes being fresh as hell as well as very delicious!

Gotta give it up to this place the athmospher and the decorations and the whole place it selfs give u awesome vibes the trevolta and Jackson art is amazing. The burgers wer delicious and the fries wer perfect. I also had a shake and let me tell u It did not disappoint it was all that’s. Service was great.

Very disappointed with both the food and the service. I ordered the Caesar chicken wrap, and it looked nothing like the advertised photo. It had barely any lettuce, the chicken was served in huge pink chunks, and the wrap itself was soggy, despite dining in. I took one bite and asked if it could be remade, but the worker said he couldn’t do anything about it. I wasn’t even asking for a refund. A darn good burger. That’s it, that’s the review. There’s just something right about this place. From the decor to the food. Shout out to the Beirut and the Cajun fries for making my day.

We stopped based on the name alone. They had many burger options that fell outside the standard burger, but I opted for the "justa burger" with chicken. The sandwich was just good. Also had the garlic fries, which were tasty. I was lucky enough to get to try two of their milkshakes. They have several flavors, and many are based on cereal flavors. My daughter had the fruity pebbles shake, which was great. My wife had the vanilla shake, which was good as well.

There is so much to love about this restaurant! Chef Omar and his entire team go above and beyond to make you feel at home. My meal was absolutely delicious and the portions for the mains were generous. I will definitely be coming back!! I went for an earlier dinner and my table for two was able to be seated right away as a walk-in. I recommend reservations for larger parties.

Amazing food and Atmosphere, clean area. Very authentic. We didn’t have reservations but we were able to have a table right away . I advised to book . Price are so reasonable. We tried Moroccan chicken Sandwich and fish Sandwich. I love how they provide community meals. Aside from the food, Chef Omar is a wonderful person. If you’re looking for the best food in Detroit, look no further than Saffron De Twah. We first heard about this gem through Keep Growing Detroit—folks were asked “If you had to take someone to one restaurant in the city, where would it be?” and multiple people pointed us here. After experiencing it for myself, I’m convinced that anyone who didn’t mention it simply hasn’t been yet. I’ve lived in Detroit my whole 27 years, and I can say without hesitation: this is the best food I’ve ever had here. Period. If anyone visits me from out of town, I’m taking them straight from DTW to Saffron De Twah. No stops. No questions. We started with the saffron tomato dip and pita chips—a perfect appetizer. The dip was rich and flavorful, and the pita chips had this special seasoning that made every bite addictive. Then came the Harissa Potatoes, and let me tell you—I eat potatoes every single day. I am serious about my potatoes. These? Hands-down the best potatoes I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and somehow even better with each bite. I was genuinely speechless. For mains, we split the chicken sandwich and the fish sandwich. The chicken sandwich was great—but the fish sandwich? One of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m still trying to mentally process how something can be that good. Flavor-packed, perfectly cooked, absolutely unforgettable. And beyond the food, the customer service was phenomenal. The man working Friday (6/6)—I wish I caught his name—was so warm and welcoming. He walked us through the entire menu and suggested the fish sandwich, which, honestly, might’ve changed my life. Shoutout to the chef too—they both made sure our food came out quickly since we had an event to attend. Every detail was thoughtful. 10/10 experience. I can’t recommend Saffron De Twah enough. This is the type of place that makes you proud to be from Detroit.

The menu feels like an invitation into the chef's world, approachable, layered, and soulful. We began with the saffron tomato dip, usually finished with za'atar but adjusted for a guest's allergy. Even without it, the dip charmed with its smooth texture, fragrant saffron, subtle smoked cheese, and vibrant tomato depth. The carrot salad followed, a vibrant interplay of sweetness, citrus, and spice that set a refreshing tone. The lamb shank tagine was the evening's centerpiece. Braised until it fell effortlessly from the bone, the shank was drizzled with beautifully contrasted harrisa and tzatziki sauces and it rested in a sauce rich with warmth and gentle sweetness, a dish rooted in heritage and celebration. The Moroccan chicken sandwich brought a modern edge, with juicy, aromatic chicken balanced by crisp bread and accompaniments that cut through richness with finesse. Equally impressive was the thoughtful non-alcoholic beverage program. Our choice, the orange blossom lemonade, was crisp and fragrant, brightening the lamb's richness while echoing the floral notes of saffron. What elevated the evening even further was Chef Omar himself, who proved to be a gracious host. He took the time to visit each table, sharing knowledge, humor, and warmth. It was Arab hospitality at its finest, making guests feel less like customers and more like part of a larger community. Saffron De Twah more than lives up to its acclaim. With heartfelt hospitality, polished flavors, and a deep respect for tradition, it stands as one of Detroit's most memorable dining experiences.

Very cute place, food was AMAZING! The couscous with the greens and slaw had such complex but harmonious flavor. Never had anything like it. Same with the carrot salad, I am going to figure out how to make it as I live in Atlanta and don’t know when I’ll be back. The tomato dip with the cheese and fresh pita chips also amazing. Staff is kind. I’m not used to being engaged with by staff in such kind way, Atlanta service industry has struggled since the pandemic. My experience here gave me hope about what kind of experiences I can have. Can’t wait to come back

I was extremely disappointed in my order at Penny Reds yesterday. I ordered the five piece chicken with fries and the honey butter biscuits. In my defense, I’ve only ever ordered the chicken bites, but the chicken bites were not available on Doordash. I settled for the Five piece chicken thinking It would still be just as good. I then realized that it was all batter and barely any chicken….When I removed the batter…the chicken wasn’t even COOKED. It was still pink. Spending $40 for takeout, i feel like I wasted my money. All I ate was the fries and biscuits.

Serves absolutely amazing food! Everything we had was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The only downside was the portion size, which felt a bit small for the price. Still, the quality was top notch, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re craving great fried chicken in the city.

First up, staff was nice and helpful having never been there before. No issues there. I mean you go there for some tasty fried chicken...... And the chicken just isn't good. Meat seemed low quality with way less meat than expected. It wasn't even that hot when served. Breading was excessive and waxy as though it had sat under a heat lamp for a while. Mac and cheese was tiny for the price and that wasn't great either. The dunked honey butter biscuits were decent. Wanted to love it, left knowing I won't be back.

Definitely a place for fried chicken lovers! Pretty simple with some decent sides to go along with the Fried Chicken. I would 💯 eat there much better freshly made than takeout for some reason. As for the customer service side… I get it were from the D but if you’re visiting from somewhere else just remember your in the City🤷🏻‍♂️

Fantastic little spot downtown for fresh fried chicken. The chicken was hot and crispy and delicious. The biscuits were flaky and tasty. I really enjoy their desserts, too. I think they switch them up frequently. I enjoyed the aesthetic and branding of the containers, too. You can tell they take pride in their food.

This is our favorite chicken place in Detroit - no question. The classic chicken sandwich is INCREDIBLE and you cannot miss out on their sidewinder fries or their dipped honey biscuits. We must stop here at least once a month. We love it. A must try.

First time and despite the service I would go back just for the food. I am giving grace because it was busy. The waiter brought the wrong food to the table, he seemed to be agitated with asking questions and with just his vibe he threw the whole experience off. However Joe Louis Jr. quickly turned that around and give positivity and laughter. I always appreciate an owner (I think he was) walking from table to table appreciating their guest. Now let’s get down to the food. I ordered the Cajun salmon and grits with butter biscuits. The biscuits was the highlight fluffy, old fashion buttery and sweet. It was sooo good. The only thing I would change about the grits is adding some cheese. Having the fried onions on top with spinach gave it that extra flavor. The salmon was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Overall the dish was an 8 out of 10. I would overall suggest the restaurant because of the atmosphere and food.

I always patronize my own however on the occasions when I've dined in like today my food was subpar. We did inform our waitress of the dissatisfaction with our meal and not want to send the food back. Both my husband and I are now experiencing stomach aches from the meals we ate. And they were distinctively different dishes. I had the Knockout Catfish Arcadian. The gumbo was room temperature at best when it came out along with it being a bit salty and tasting like it had been sitting. The catfish seemed like it was fried twice or in old grease. My husband had hash browns that tasted like they too had been sitting and recooked. His dish was also room temperature along with his omelet and french toast that looked Cajun. Thoroughly disappointed considering we spent over $50 for brunch we couldn't enjoy or eat. We want to continue patronizing but we will be taking a break for now in hopes that it will get better as reviews and consumer concerns are taken into consideration.

I was greeted when I walked in. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I appreciated scanning the barcode for the menu. There were food options for everyone including me since I dont eat meat. My food came out hot. The bathrooms were clean. It was easy to find parking.

Give it a solid 4. Couple of bugs flying around my food. Grits only with cheese. No options for people who don’t want cheese grits. Server was okay. Nothing extraordinary about the place. The peach cobbler French toast wasn’t too sweet so that was good. All in all, I’d try it again but for dinner instead.

By the looks of this plate you’d think you’re about to eat some fire shrimp and grits! Unfortunately it was so subpar! If that! There was NO flavor! They advertise them as cheese grits but they didn’t seem to be cheesy grits. I asked for bacon added it still added no flavor. I was disappointed after the long drive to try this black owned restaurant. The fried catfish was seasoned well and the gumbo was but this I didn’t even finish (and I love food) I told him to take it after I ate the ingredients off top. The catfish was flavorful but it did seem recooked but it was still flavorful and fluffy. The gumbo had the most flavor but it had 1 baby 🍤 you know the ones that come in precooked gumbo or in a can. I’m not sure if they deserve a three but my daughter said mama!! It wasn’t that bad so the three is from her. Service: was a 2/5 if that honestly. The person who sat us down didn’t tell us the menu was online only. The waiter came 20 minutes later. The waiter never checked on us, asked how the food was, refilled drinks or anything. Everyone was basically congregating in the kitchen chatting it up. When I received my bill (which was for 2) I saw why. They automatically add gratuity! 20% at that for horrible service with flies everywhere and a waiter with crocs and no customer service skills. If you’re afraid people aren’t going to tip maybe it’s because your servers aren’t providing great service! The music selection was the best thing about the place I would give the atmosphere a 3 bc of that but the cafeteria style plates, dirty rims and bugs says a 2 and that’s being generous.

Another Detroit favorite delivering a hearty breakfast! Be prepared to wait, no reservations. Also tip is included on weekends and large parties. There's a table limit for dining too. Named after famous Detroit boxer the diner showcases Joe Louis memorabilia in its bar tops which face the interior lobby waiting area only for dine in customers. You'll be seating inside of a boxing ring! Upon entering through the door, you're walking into the dining area which is built like the front of a house porch. Its truly unique structure and decor could be a museum exhibit! It was a bit confusing based on how the layout is. The hostess ask you to wait in the boxing ring hall area. Next 20 mins or so, came out to announce bar seating along the windows were open seating and asked for volunteers instead of just taking the next groups on the waitlist. Now to the menu, entrees are named in boxing lingo to follow the theme. It's a wide range of griddle, omelette, skillets with seafood options, salads, turkey legs and other southern influenced dishes. Chicken & waffles is what they're known for but biscuits and Cajun flavor is on the menu too! Our waiter, Paul, looked like he was hot but he was personable and provided what needed in spurts. We got our plates before silverware and my milk which I asked for delivery during my meal took a minute as well. I had to try the Martha's Seafood skillet.. it had all the ingredients I was in the mood for: shrimp, blackened salmon, potatoes, egg and spinach. Sound good. Every fork full was a party! It was sooo good. The dish overall was flavorful. The peppers, onions and hollandaise wrapped the dish up nicely. I added a side Red Velvet waffle (drizzled with cream cheese). Can we say jackpot! My belly thanked me! My companion had chicken with their banana foster French toast... another winner! Executed perfectly with banana sauce and cinnamon packed FT! The chicken was seasoned with a bit of Cajun flare.

The food looked amazing but didn’t taste good. The turkey leg was dry and the sauce tasted like it was room temperature. The price for 1 chicken tender & fries was $9 (ridiculous). Our waitress was pretty much nonexistent throughout our visit so automatic 20% gratuity just because it’s the weekend is crazy. They try to hide the automatic gratuity by not bringing a detailed receipt over, she just had the total on a card machine. Overrated restaurant.

Had just gotten off the train and needed a quick bite before my ride picked me up. This was right up the street and the flavors were right up my alley. I ordered the From The Sea Village meal, this is the quick bite size, and it was delicious. The fish was super crispy and fried really well. The greens weren’t overpowered by the truffle oil, which I was worried about, and the rice was delicious. I especially loved the plantain, spicy undertones but still sweet. Only wish is that there was a second piece of fish but I’ll live! I’ll definitely be back!

the owner gave me a sample plate because i didn't know what i wanted, very personable and passionate about his work. his customer service made me want to return before i even tried the food. everything was delicious. rarely do i tip on carryout, today i tipped. 10 stars for yumvillage!

Big portions and super friendly staff. It was all really good but I wanna go back just to eat a thousand beef patties. There's a qr code on each table for the menu and very detailed descriptions alongside a photo of each dish. I ordered from my phone and it was brought over when it was ready. Simple and fun but not your traditional full service restaurant experience. It's more like panera or mccallisters in that way but with much better food made with actual quality and love.

If I could give this place 5000 stars I would. Forget what you’ve heard, this place is IT. While I can’t speak on the quality of service on different times, right now? I felt like I was home. Stopped here for the first time on last Friday, July 17. Had seen the restaurant on one of the local channels several times and had heard good things about the food. It was everything I’d heard about, so delicious. I ordered the Food Truck village combo which included jerk chicken with garlic Parmesan sauce, truffle oil greens and my rice of choice was the turmeric rice. It also included hush puppies. The chicken had a Mediterranean flavor to me similar to a shawarma, very good! The rice and greens were delicious and the hush puppies were like none I’d had before. Sweet and lightly drizzled with a sauce which I believe were banana peppers? Not sure but trust me they were sooo good! My mom ordered oxtails, OMG Delish! Her meal came with greens and jollof rice and she ordered a side of plantain. We enjoyed our food so much and are both looking forward to returning.

First time here. Food had good flavor but my rice/chicken were barely room temperature and my hush puppies were cold. As I said, flavor/taste was good and portions were very generous, would just have preferred a hot meal. I ordered the coffee drink Vanilla Coast and the lady working had no clue what it was and asked me 3 times what it was and what was in it. I waited about 30 minutes to finally get the drink after she found someone to make it and it was good. The lady who helped us was very nice and attentive but it would have been nice to have people working who could answer questions about the food/drink especially if you aren’t familiar with Caribbean food. We finally made our way to Dave's Hot Chicken. It was just okay to me, but my daughter loved it. I got the #1, which is 2 tenders. The tenders are huge. I selected mild. I'm not quite sure what I didn't like. I think it was all the red on my chicken. My daughter got the #3, which was 1 slider and 1 tender. She selected hot. She took her first bite and liked it. About 20 seconds later, her eyes turned red and started to water. I couldn't stop laughing. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant was clean and filled with people, so I may be in the minority of not liking it. There's plenty of free parking in the back.

I recently visited Davis Hot Chicken on Michigan Ave in Dearborn and was very impressed with the food—it was flavorful, spicy just the way I like it, and cooked perfectly. I give the food a full 5 stars. The service was friendly and quick, so I’d rate it 4 stars. The only thing that could be better is the atmosphere—it was a bit too loud, which made it hard to relax or have a conversation, so I give that part 3 stars. Overall, I’m giving Davis Hot Chicken 4 stars and would definitely come back again for the amazing food.

The manager Matthew knows I have been going there for a year now and he refused to remake my food all of a sudden because he said I complain too much. I’m allergic to pickles. They know that so I receive pickles on my food sometimes sometimes my food be old or they give me the wrong food Wrong spice level also today I was supposed to go get my food. It was remade. He told me I couldn’t get it because I complain too much. This is his third time telling me this. I was kind of shocked because why do he feel like that and he’s the only one that feels like that if I talk to a Another manager, his name is Darvon He said come back you can get your order remade. I said OK then you have Matthew telling me I can’t and never can like. Who are you? I don’t know you. You don’t know me. You just work here and if I say, my food was received old. And wrong spice, I automatically with no backtalk should have my order remade. He act like my order came out of his check general manager Jason refuse all of a sudden. like this is wrong they are the only location that’s close to by me. I don’t deserve this. I’ve been going here for almost 2 years now I am taking a legal action because I know I’m gonna have problems when I order here again and it’s not fair because it’s only two people that refuse to make my order no one else The mac & cheese be watery the tenders be small for the sandwiches and they told me it’s not supposed to be that Small, why is Matthew refusing to make my order then why is it a problem with just him?

The cashier JoJo went out of his way to help me decide what I wanted. Made the suggestion of adding honey to my sandwich afterwards to add more flavor to the sandwich. That honey takes the sandwich up to 10 out of 10. Without me asking, he brought me a to go box because there was so much extra food even which is two sliders. I’m taking one home what a great place to come, and this was my first experience.

This place has fabulous chicken and the Mac and cheese is even better if you can believe it!!!

Even though my order had issue and came a bit late. Kaylen made sure to fix the problem!! She is so nice and deserve to be recognized for how much she cares about the customers experience! Well done!

Chicken Sandwich- I thought everything was well thought out but the chicken didn’t taste marinated no yuzu or ginger taste at all. Umami fries- should have used a sauces to dip a bit acidic Fish sandwich- flaky good Curry dog- hot dog itself great quality, sauce taste a lot like the sauce used for curry chicken salad Overall pretty solid place

My husband and I were in the museum district for an event and stopped by SuperCrisp for a quick bite to eat after. We were impressed by the variety of choices on the menu and the quality of the food. My husband had the super fried chicken sandwich and the chicken was fried to perfection! I had the fried tofu sandwich (spicy) and it was also delicious. We were both tempted to order a couple of hot dogs to try (they reminded us of the Japadogs in Vancouver) but we were simply too full. We will definitely back next time we are in the area! :)

Today I ordered the Wasabi Burger. Very tasty, wasabi sauce is spicy enough for those who like spicy foods without being overpowering (at least in my opinion, I like spicy). Also like the crispy onions and pickled red onions which enhance the flavor. I have ordered the Kimchi fries in the past; which are delish! Next time I plan to try the Kimchi dog or chicken sandwich. As a fast food restaurant goes I like the change from the norm. Also, staff are nice as well which is always welcoming.

Great fast food style restaurant for lunch or takeout. By the same owners of ima, their innovative take on a fast food concept includes gluten free and vegetarian options. Celiac friendly - separate fryers for everything. Service is knowledgeable and efficient and the facility clean, they also offer outdoor seating. We ordered the salad with crispy tofu bites, a gluten free burger and the spicy kimchi fries (that were extremely spicy)

The restaurant has a very busy theme. The music is very upbeat and fun. There is seating inside and outside. The food was good and there are several vegetarian options.

The food was so delicious, but for us it tasted like a beyond burger, but it was halal beef. The people were nice. One downside was that they sell beer and it’s a halal store so that’s pretty confusing.

I'm not from here, I'm from another state only visiting to meet my friend for a couple of days. I happened to stumble across this particular establishment. A burger for me was about $11 and the lemonade was like an extra 5 or 6? I'm not sure but after including the tip I ended up paying over $20 for my order. The burger that I received was too small and underwhelming. It was good, it did not taste bad but it really was not worth $10 in my opinion. I was able to finish it in four or five bites. The service was good but the price just isn't worth it. I ended up going to another restaurant down the road to satiate me which, unfortunately, cost me another $20 but at least the food was worth paying. I also don't understand how the Asian brand drinks/aesthetic and rap music blasting mix but it didn't seem to fit the overall atmosphere of the business. Again, the staff was kind and respectful but there's things that this business can do better in my opinion.

Hands down the best donuts in Detroit, maybe even Metro Detroit! I love their daily specials (today’s was chocolate peppermint) and the brown butter is amazing! They perfected their glaze and fluffy texture!

I recently started working in this area and was excited to try this place. I finally did last week. I tried the chicken sausage biscuit and also the egg and cheese biscuit. Both were excellent! But the star of the show for me is the apple cider donut! It is probably the best donut I've ever had in my life! I've had it 3 times now. It's so hard just to eat just one. It would be cool if this was in their regular rotation. But I think it's a limited time donut. Anyway, hurry up and get your coffee and donut and breakfast fix here! And to the owners and workers thank you so much for delivering such a great product!

I have no complaints. Customer service was good. My coffee was great! I’m not even mad that they only have one syrup for the coffee because it’s a good quality vanilla. Once I stirred everything up, my coffee was the perfect flavor. It had the sweetness that I needed but the coffee flavor wasn’t lost at all. Very impressive. I got the egg and cheese sandwich. Very flavorful. I could definitely see myself returning here.

Went to both locations on a recent trip to visit a friend in Detroit. I was never into Krueller style donuts because of the heaviness. I am now a fan. Whatever Poundcake like dough recipe yall got, is out of this world! To the point where my friend and I have been having long conversations trying to figure out how they are made. The Lemon Poppy Seed is the star. I can’t wait to come back and try the Cherry Almond, Key Lime, Butter Plantain. The breakfast biscuit, specifically the chicken maple is amazing. The drive thru only location has funniest lady who gave my friends dog a puppy treat and made us laugh. I want to bathe in the lemon poppy seed donut icing. I really appreciate the at the donut itself is not overly sweet and the lemon zest in that icing shines brighter because of it. This makes me want to move to Detroit during the summer (not ready for y’all winters). Oh and my friend likes yall cortados

Okay iced vanilla latte, absolutely amazing donuts! I had the cherry almond and it was so flavorful. They all looked great, the whole family enjoyed them. We will be back!

Can you say COFFEE SLUSHIE!!! I'd never heard of it, but it keeps me coming back! 🥰 The donuts make me feel like a little kid. They are colorful and so delicious. And they keep catching me with the Daily Special. 😁 I am currently working my way through the Biscuits Menu. 😆

this was my childhood spot when i was living in hamtramck. i would always come here to get food, i moved from Hamtramck and i wasn’t able to go as often. this was in 2011 fast forward to 2025 and my job is only 8 min drive from here. you know i had to stop by and get some lunch. Still passes with flying colors. the food is hot, fresh, delicious. and affordable!! The crew in there are on point and make sure you get everything you need. Shout out to my guy Sam, he always makes sure my order is on point. If you haven’t given this joint a try, you’re under a rock Patrick Star. Definitely a recommendation 100%

The chicken was overcooked and barely had any meat on it. The short man in the glasses is rude and miserable. The mango shake or smoothie was disappointing and had no mango flavor! Overpriced too.

The food was fresh and delicious. I love me it. Halal chicken, and meat. Definitely recommend

I try to stop by every time I'm in the area on my lunch break. Sometimes, I'll go out of the way to stop in and get the Coop. It has great flavor and everything together, so it's an easy quick lunch for me. It has a lot of flavor with every bite. Waffle fries, coleslaw, battered chicken, and a mixture of sauces. Served with pickle slices on the side. You can order it regular or hot both are equally delicious.

We drove a hour and half to try this place, and we weren't disappointed. My son got the smash burger. He said it was juicy and delicious. It was top 5 burger he's had. My son's gf got the chicken sandwich and the waffle fries. The waffle fries were delicious and crispy. The chicken sandwich was big and delicious. I got the chicken shawarma wrap with coleslaw. It was very big and stuffed with chicken. I think it was the best Shawarma wrap I've had. The taste was great, and I liked how they put the sauce on the outside of the pita as they toasted it. That put it over the top. Highly recommend Holy cluck!

The young lady at the counter was very helpful, it was our first time so she walked us through everything on the menu. The chicken sandwiches were not bad, the waffle fries were good. The milkshakes were unreal! If you come here you must get a milkshake. The ambiance is also very dope.

Came in as a walk•in. I googled my usual “Food near me” and surprisingly this was 5min from my door! The lobby is decorated well. I can see the potential, just wasnt busy when I came at 2:30 on a Saturday. Nahle was very helpful let me taste the bushki sce before ordering. Got a carry-out from Holy Cluck and it was decent. The only thing I wasn’t able to eat were the fries. Some were cooked so hard I couldn’t bite them and the other half was undercooked and soggy. The sandwich was delicious and I would order that again.

I was looking for a good place to get a burger and shake so I stopped here. The two young men working were very kind and polite, the service was excellent. The place was clean, quiet, and comforting. I ordered a smash burger with waffle fries and a chocolate shake. I wish the burger was seasoned, but overall it was cool. The fries were nice and hot and the shake was good, could’ve had a bit more chocolate flavor but I still enjoyed it. Definitely check this place out! I’ll be back.

My husband & I used to love this place until after today. We drive 30 mins from East, Detroit just to eat here. So, it’s VERY disappointing to know they changed their menu/ recipes after ordering our usual. Prices have always been a bit high but it was worth it, now it’s NOT! & they charge extra if you’re paying with a card (I don’t think it’s always been that way) They really lost some loyal customers

This place is located in the Detroit Shipping Company. I'm certainly glad that with all of the food options, I chose to eat at this place. I ordered the chicken wings and they were great. They were everything that you could ask for. They had a good Caribbean taste and were soft but not fatty with kind of a grilled flavor to them. There were also smothered in sauce with little mandarin oranges. Overall, while the place is a little pricey, it is well worth it.

I had no idea of what I was about to experience...the flavors of the Carribean was phenomenal! I can't began to describe all those flavors that were going on in my mouth! The corn was the best! The chicken stayed crispy even with the cold slaw! Fries had a sauce that didnt require me to use ketchup. I even ate the Cauliflower! An experience i dont want you to miss! The "Coop" means shared space and that is because it shares space with at least 4 other small venues. There is an upstairs that serves/sales coffee. There is plenty of seating inside and out. There is a full bar inside. Eating inside a shipping container was kinda cool. Thanks for inviting me Chef Max!

I was craving a good quality, uniquely flavored fried chicken sandwich. After much research, I decided on COOP. I was excited to by the idea of bacon jam and guava bbq sauce. The presentation looked great. Brioche bun was perfectly toasted, not soggy. Chicken was cooked amazingly (crispy yet juicy), but my biggest hang up is the sauce. It is so powerful and so tangy, it’s all i could taste. I wanted a more well balanced sandwich where all the ingredients could shine together. The plantains i ordered with it were perfect: crispy edges with a soft and sweet inside.

Can't wait to eat this food! The owner, when I spoke to her, was so considerate and kind, especially because I couldn't figure out how to order online. This is a great establishment! Update 7/17/22: PLEASE UPDATE THE PHONE NUMBER. We had a HUGE order we planned on placing (at least $200 worth) and the number does not work! It's been like this for a while. The food is excellent, but you will lose customers by not updating. Online ordering is not always the best option, especially for older users.

I love them! I’ve been here twice since visiting Detroit. I got the Caribbean fries and chicken fritters and everything tastes so fresh and wonderful. It is just so amazing! Love love love!

Yeah.. I’ll never order food from here again. In person it’s bomb, but I’ve had it delivered 5 or 6 times and it’s always a problem. Today they forgot an entire chicken sandwich & my coop fries are SWIMMING in sauce. I ended up having to order something else. Their food is entirely too expensive for my food to always arrive incorrect or incomplete. Taking this restaurant out of the rotation.
