There was no food here but it’s known for craft cocktails and mock tails- that’s what you will find it here. Had 4 really good drinks here 1. Penitent — by far best one !!! A deep, smoky aroma with a hint of ginger, balancing mezcal’s earthiness with bright, spicy tones. Refreshing yet robust, leaving a warm, tingling finish. 2. In house/ on tap : Begins with a charred wood aroma reminiscent of a campfire. Whiskey’s warmth deepens with layered smokiness. Bitters and citrus add a tangy edge, while sweetness rounds out a caramel-like richness. 3. Cognac - my own version Smooth, refined, with cognac’s floral and fruity notes accented by bittersweet complexity. Warm and rich, with vanilla, dried fruit, and oak hints. A balanced, indulgent experience. 4. Whiskey Sour— A perfect blend of tart lemon and rich whiskey, with a smooth, velvety texture from egg white (if included). It’s tangy yet balanced, with a frothy top and a hint of sweetness that enhances the whiskey’s character, finishing with a crisp citrus note. Do not go by the name of the premises, The Sugar House , it’s not related to ice cream or sweets. It’s liquor bar. Visited first time and loved its ambience. I have seen the very vast variety of cocktails in their menu, 101 menu of whiskey menu. They serve only cocktails and mocktails , no food is served here. It’s a must visit place and would again visit.

The Sugar House is a gem in Detroit. I ordered the EFK, a special menu item, and it’s a must-try for whiskey lovers—bold, balanced, and unforgettable. I also had the warm chocolate chip cookies, which were perfectly gooey with a pinch of sea salt that brought out all the rich flavors. My server, Florence, was fantastic—attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. The vibe here is cozy but elevated, and you can tell they care about the details. From the cocktails to the service, everything was top-notch. I’ll definitely be back.

We went to this place this weekend to celebrate our sister's birthday and it was amazing. Florence was our server and she MADE THE NIGHT! Their service was spectacular, they were entertaining, outgoing and made us stay longer than we planned on because we were having such an fun time. Her recommendation of drinks to try, preferences of liquors to try in our drinks, and even snack suggestions were amazing. She was very attentive to our large group size, we had 6 of us and we were ordering drinks frequently, her service was amazing, clearing the table of empty glasses and refreshing drinks. We had a great time and will be coming back really soon.

STANDBY is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city! The place looks amazing—stylish, modern, and just gives off a cool vibe the second you walk in. The food is always on point, no matter what we order. Everything is packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The service is just as impressive—everyone we’ve encountered has been super friendly, talkative, and even pretty funny, which makes the experience even better. It’s a place I always recommend to friends. If you haven’t been, you’re seriously missing out!

Phenomenal. Every dish we ordered was a hit, even the salad. The dishes to note are the scallop ceviche, the crispy pork belly toast, beef short ribs, and the Granny Smith coffee cake. We went as a group of 4 and ordered 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 deserts and left stuffed. Staff was a 10/10 and the interior is a tight cozy place with dim lights. It was a little difficult to find the restaurant but it’s well worth the hunt! Would recommend for date nights or any occasion.

The staff and mocktails were excellent. Endless fun choices of drinks. The food was a bit underwhelming. This was a few months ago so the menu may have changed. We loved the coconut shrimp and dessert. Our meals were good but nothing too stand out. Server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.

1st time checking out standby and it was mid at best. The entrance and ambiance definitely was a vibe. I love how they did the drink menu as a newspaper but I can see some people getting confused with it as its got alot going on. Our server Sky was really nice and she made some great recommendations...the only thing we ran into was when we were ready to go she was no where to be found for 15 minutes and had to ask another waiter for our bill...im sure she was tending to other things because overall she did a great job. The drinks although creative didnt blow us away and the food was decent but nothing to race about. Overall wasnt a terrible experience and a decent spot for lunch or dinner.

Such an elegant spot with a great selection of food and drinks- Walking into Standby almost feels like going back in time, giving you a glimpse into what late night dining must have been like in the Golden Age of Detroit. The food selection was simple yet delicious. The newspaper menu format was also pretty neat. The smash burger was to die for, literally so good. Their drink selection was equally as impressive and almost mysterious. I opted for the milkshake cocktail, and was surprised at how good it was. Wish we could have been in town for longer, cus Standby’s a spot I’d love to frequent. Highly recommend.

My friends and I have been to Standby on many-a-night for cocktails, and this place never disappoints. The servers and bartenders are so helpful in assisting you choose a drink that you will enjoy. There is something for everyone here. We tried some of their small batch tequila and were blown away. Highly recommend. Last night we went and had dinner for the first time. All the apps were outstanding- we got the coconut shrimp, olive and pepper tray, and wings. No notes!!! So good. For dinner we each got one of the entrees. My husband got the steak, it was perfect. Cooked to medium rare, excellent sauce. My pasta limone was also outstanding- creamy, garlicky, and the noodles were cooked just right. The French fries were also very good! Unfortunately, our friends were disappointed by their meals. The burger is extremely thick- too meaty, the bun lost its integrity. The brick chicken was good, but everyone thought it needed a little extra seasoning. It was a bit bland. We finished with the lemon bar dessert- which was great! Overall, we loved this spot and we will be back! However, for being such a small menu, everything should be perfect. And my husband and I felt lucky to order the best entrees.

An absolute gem in Detroit! Drinks were superb. Service was at its peak. Loved sitting at the bar watching drinks be made and the interactions between the staff. It gives a fine dining kitchen counter experience without the price and with personable personalities and full flavor delicious food. Without a doubt will recommend and be back.

What an absolute culinary delight! I suggest making reservations ahead of time because this is a very popular spot. The ambiance was very modern and romantic but also a place you can take the family. The service was outstanding...they gave us a great insight over the menu and made some amazing recommendations. They have several drink selections and they are fun and flavorful. The food was amazing and seasoned to perfection...highly recommend the short rib and snapper! We will be back again to try and burger...we here they are incredible...they do not begin serving food until 5pm, just an FYI. Recommend this spot to anyone in the area.

We had a very good dinner at Grey Ghost on our recent Detroit weekend getaway. We had the chef's tasting menu with the beverage pairing and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was lively and the service excellent.

Grey Ghost is the type of restaurant you enjoy just being present in. I've dined at the bar, the dining room, and the veranda, and don't have a preference. The burger here is easily one of the best locally, and in general, I've had. The menu rotates frequently, but the burger is a mainstay. French fries are also a mainstay, however, the flavor of them changes every so often. The cannelloni alfredo is another delicious dish but, at the time of writing this review, is no longer on the menu. For the vibes and burger alone, Grey Ghost will always be one of my favorites. I will say, it is on the pricier side. However, the quality and experience you receive is worth it.

Went here tonight with my dad, did the tasting menu. Started the course with a complimentary champagne that the wonderful and exceedingly nice Jenna brought us. We left stuffed and happy. The food was all impeccable and the drinks matched the food perfectly. Will definitely be returning!

The atmosphere and service were incredible. We had Bri as our server and she took very good care of us. The food was just okay to me which was a little disappointing. For the money you spend, you don't get a lot and the little food is just so-so. I parked in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. It was $30 for 2 hours and $40 for the night. I found that to be reasonable so I paid the $40 and walked to the Fox. I would recommend trying it at least once. Unfortunately, I will not return. Sorry.

Been trying to go here for a while and finally went. Had reservation at 9:15 and wasn't seated until 9:45. Sat outside on the covered veranda. Our waitress was okay, but the wait for our food and drinks was quite long. I really want to give a four star but the food was AMAZING!! I was so surprised how much I loved their white Fish fritter. Dry aged steak was cooked perfectly. And hollow Crown? More like, Drink so nice, I ordered it twice. Definitely going back. Maybe on a week day..

This place has been here since 1965! A staple in Detroit for sports fans. When the Lions were having their pre-season they have a bus that picks you up there and will drop you back off. Just need to speak with someone working there to access them. We were staying right across the street at the Godfrey. Surprisingly I have not visited before, but we figured since it was literally across the street, we would check it out. The drinks and service were pretty good, not a ton of food options but that was not an issue, being we already had breakfast.

nice place, home vibes, food was a little heavy, meaning that my burps werent so tasty. But they were so nice. Also loved that I was watching the NBA playoffs and the stanley cup playoffs at the same time

Hmm disappointing! We were recommended to go here… $15 for a very very average burger out of a Bain Marie. Cold bun with crisps … patty was ok. Cool bar, service was good. A one drink and move on…. Don’t go for the food.

Had a beer and a plate of fries with some friends, and it was great. A nice patio and reasonable prices. A friend had a burger and said that it was a great burger. Our server was incredibly friendly. The bathroom was clean, and there was plenty of parking. I’d recommend stopping in if you’re looking for a bite to eat or a few beers.

I was raised 2 blocks from the Great Nemos bar/eatery. I love this place it's nostalgic for hosting pretty sports events with a bus shuttle to and from sports events downtown at the arenas so it's a win-win. Plus the staff is great and the best burger in Corktown my personal opinion mind you. Love Nemo's architecture is still as its original state ceilings with intricate patterns so beautiful and inviting. Everyone should go atleast once I drove up from SW Fl just to have my first burger here soooooo good too😊

Candy Bar was our favorite high end cocktail bar in Downtown Detroit during our three day stint and boy did we try them all. Very cool art design, very inventive yet high quality cocktail menu, and Samuel & Angie were so nice and fun and knowledgeable. Definitely a rec if you like cocktails and a fun environment.

Sam and Josh were amazing! We’re in town for work and they gave us a thorough list of places to check out and things to do. A bartender at Post Bar recommended Candybar and the vibe and their hospitality did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

I had an outstanding experience thanks to Shaun behind the bar. From the moment I sat down, he was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to ask what flavors I enjoy and then crafted a custom cocktail that hit every note—balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. Beyond the drinks, Shaun kept the vibe welcoming and upbeat, checked in at the right moments, and made everyone feel like a regular. Give that man a raise!!!

Nice warm, friendly vibe here. I had a Sol Dorado (with Don Julio Reposado tequila, Convite Mezcal, mango-chamoy cordial, mango liqueur, lime and tajin); also ordered the “I’m Pretty” ( w/ Lobos 1707 Reposado tequila, white rum, strawberry syrup, tres leches mix and whipped cream). I would describe this place as POSH.

Loved sitting outside. The weather was beautiful, the space is serene. The koi pond really sold it. Women's bathroom could use some doors instead of shower curtains though. Apparently closed doesn't mean occupied. Great little space to hang and relax.

I mean, a classic to say the least. Today was clearly a chill Sunday, but the small indoor space I can see getting easily crowded on a live band night. Outside, backyard area an entire different vibe. Spacious, well kept and also has a bar out there. The backyard area is a place you can escape the inside space and odor of possible mold for an outdoor, open experience. Drinks were great and an overall good experience. I appreciate places like this with history and it’s unique style.

Very unique vibe here. I have a military family and they love ending any visit to downtown at this very special spot. It gets crazy loud when the live bands are there, the inside can get super cramped, and the bathrooms are pretty much never clean but otherwise highly recommend stopping by to check this place out! For the decor at a minimum! If you don’t like the crowds, the backyard is set up very nicely with a little tiki bar, some swinging lounge chairs, fire pits and picnic tables. The beer is cold and there are usually open yard games as well!

Bad Luck Bar might be small, but it delivers a big experience. The space is intimate, moody, and thoughtfully designed, perfect for a night out that feels a little more personal. You can actually hear the person next to you, which is rare and refreshing. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Every drink I’ve had was delicious. Definitely a hidden gem worth seeking out.

This place should get 5 stars for the atmosphere alone. Tucked away in a stinky alleyway, this gem offers a quiet place for cute dates with exceptional drinks and 5 stars service. When you get seated in their slick bar or their comfy booths you find yourself served with still water and a tiny delicious surprise. They give you their menu of delicious (slightly pricey but well worth it) drinks. No one in our group was disappointed, and how could you be when your served unique cups, with metal straws at a candlelit table with great company? We came here to celebrate a birthday, and we don’t want to leave. Shoutout to Aaron and Luka for making our night memorable!

“Unique” doesn’t cut it. This place is bonkers. This is one of those one-of-kind places that you pine to go back to even the next day. The location, the intimate space, the style and vibe are all exceptional. More importantly, the high level of craft is paired with their level of enthusiasm - something that is hard to find. We were helped by Matt and Eric and our experience quickly became warm and personal. Not to mention, the drinks were inspiring, and even befuddling at times. Be warned: this is certainly on the expensive side of scale, but it is not “overpriced”. You get what you pay for (and much more).

I had here among the best cocktails in my life. The owner and the bar tender are extremely talented and creative and spend their life trying to push the limits of what could be created by putting toghether the most raffinate, unusual and even debatable ingredients. The result is a great collection of stunning signature cocktails!

I guess Detroit does speakeasies very well! Bad Luck is where you turn yours around with well crafted cocktails both from the menu and upon request. Limited seating available, so get there early, you will lose track of time either due to the vibes, the booze, or both!

Kiesling is a cool little bar with a nice patio and chic interior. I had some well-priced beers and hung out for a while. It was quite lively, but the service was good. The bar was loud but still very easy to talk to. The lighting is quite dark. out front, they had a food truck posted up with fantastic food.

This is perhaps my favorite bar in Detroit. Cocktails are good. Atmosphere is excellent. Staff has the right balance of professionalism and fun. Prices are not ridiculous. I love the outdoor patio in the back with the fireplace that is PERFECT for fall. It is a bit of a hipster bar, but it balances those tendencies well with a touch of genuine class. It's a great grab a drink after work kind of place AND a nice spot for cocktails on the weekend. They sometimes have a food truck out front but generally don't serve food.

Very upset. Used to be our favorite cocktail bar in town. There was a recent change in ownership and although the new bartenders are nice, the menu lacks the creativity and balance and craftsmanship that we would specifically come here for. The menu now seems more like what you would find at a college bar (cocktails with Bacardi, patron, jager, skyy vodka).

Bummed, there seems to have been a change in ownership and you can tell by the menu and service. The challenging and subtle cocktails are gone. I heard the old staff left en masse, it seems that a lot of the place's inspiration left with them. One extra star because the atmosphere is still pretty cool, but even that seems like it's fallen off somehow. I'm so sad to loose the amazing cocktails at Kiesling bar. It has been one of my favorite spots since they opened. The new ownership is not living up to the craft cocktail magic that once graced the glasses. I was so disappointed last time I went in, I didn't even order and just shared a drink with my friend, then moved on. It feels like a real death to the Detroit craft cocktail scene. The new menu featured ingredients like Skky Vodka, Bacardi, Gordon's Gin, Patron, Jägermeister, Midori, and grenadine. It's like they can't find an identity between an early oughts night club - or high end sports bar in the sticks. Prices are the same despite way lower shelf liquor. The menu is overcrowded with thoughtless options. It was dead on a Saturday evening, usually a time the bar is humming with activity. I had come to accept that new Detroit found this hidden gem years ago, and kept going for the amazingly creative drinks. I guess all good things must come to an end... or so I'm going to tell myself as I mourn one of my favorite spots being transformed into a shell of what I once knew.

Was hoping for better. I think that they are too busy for there own good. Casadeas and Philly both dry and good luck getting something wet. it was a game night but I would believe that they knew that before I had arrived. Wish I had taken food pics. Live and learn. FYI: Get seated for dine in because at the bar they wanted our stools to go standing room only. No plans to seat us elsewhere. I would pay a couple bucks more for better food. Best location in town.

Tin Roof was a lot of fun! Live music inside/ DJ outside and great service. The food was good and the drinks were strong. The Tigers were out of town and the place was still bumping.

I love this place and I’ve been coming here for years. But recently I came across a bartender who shorts people’s change, or charges you for what you didn’t ask for. On the second floor of tin roof this bar tender charged me $36 for 2 drinks and when I gave him $100 bill he gave me $34 as my change in return. I then asked him for a slice of an orange peel & he said no because I didn’t tip him. I then told him that my change was short and I needed a receipt. He gave me the receipt and never looked at me again. Or even came near me. Well thanks for tipping yourself an extra $30 and then asking me for a tip after. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BARTENDER

I went to The Skip in Detroit for an AfroFuture event and had such a good time. The DJ was a vibe and the crowd matched the energy all night. The space felt fun, the music was on point, and the atmosphere made it easy to just enjoy and connect. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.

I really wanted to enjoy The Skip because someone posted it IG but unfortunately, it wasn't the experience I was hoping. The atmosphere was amazing. The decorations were fabulous. I really liked the theme. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in (had a reservation party of 2) there were people everywhere. No matter where we stood, we were in someones way. Once seated, the waiter took out orders. We ordered our drinks (2) and they arrived after almost 10-15 minutes of waiting. After that, our waiter never came back. We had to flag him down if we wanted to order anything else. Our water wasn't refilled and no one came back by to ask us if we needed anything else. The drinks were just "okay". I had questions because holiday theme drinks are hit or miss but no one was checking on us. Once we got the waiters attention for the bill, gratuity was added for 2 people even though the menu said gratuity added for 6 and more!! This was extremely disappointing.

The belt in general is a nice experience. Unfortunately the skip has gone downhill. The bartenders have a terrible attitude and are very unhelpful. Used to like coming here but I'd recommend the standby or mootz instead.

Loved loved this place. Open air and great drinks. How can you go wrong? The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly for being as busy as he was. He was very quick with his artful concoctions and pleasant. Seating was surprisingly plentiful and comfortable. We got seats right at the front so we could people watch easily. Great time. We will definitely be going back

Laid back, easy service. All is done from your phone and scanning the QR code. Super easy to order and pay. Delicious brews and some fun ways to order (4oz) pours. Chicken shawarma and bean dip were top notch. Tons of picnic tables and a huge outdoor area.

Can’t say enough good things about this place—absolutely awesome food and beer! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and fun. The craft beer selection is top-notch, with a great variety to suit all tastes. I tried a couple different brews and loved them both—clearly fresh, flavorful, and brewed with care. The food was just as impressive. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. You can tell they put real effort into their menu, not just typical bar fare. Portions were generous, and the presentation was great too. One of the highlights was the large outdoor area. It’s spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating and a great vibe—perfect for hanging out with friends or enjoying a night out. To top it off, they had live music, which added so much energy to the experience without being too loud or overwhelming. This spot really checks all the boxes: excellent food, quality beer, great service, and a fun environment. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s a must try location. The foods and beverages are good and the foods servers seems nice enough. But for a place that I have to place my own orders, get my own water, the tips starts at 20% to 30% ?? 🙄. Our 1 sausage sandwich was $15 and 6 pieces of chicken wings is $24 + tax and 30% tips!! WTH. No wonder Americans are poor, broke and can’t afford to go out much anymore.

As out of towners, we loved this dog friendly spot!! Huge patio. Hip interior. But the food… first, after bringing up we couldn’t see any food on the online ordering, they went in the back and refreshed the menu/app until it back on. Great people great beer great food and honestly some of the best cauliflower I’ve ever had in my life.

Local brewery offering outdoor and indoor dining. Food options include homemade chips and dips, smoked then fried wings, sandwiches and tacos. The wings were seasons and good with or without sauce. The smoked pulled chicken sandwich with Alabama white sauce was 10/10. The chips and dip were good and the butter bean warm dip was also good. This is a scan a QR code order everything from your phone and someone brings it to you. It’s not a typical service establishment. Overall, enjoyed the experience.

What a wonderful team, food, beer, cider! We are just so lucky to have had our daughters after wedding party here at Batch. Kimberly was a pleasure to work with during the planning and day of the event. Stephen came to meet us and was essential in making sure we had “Polish, double smoked kielbasa “ for the event. It should be on the menu full time! Everything was delicious and fresh. The Alabama white pulled chicken, pulled pork, pretzels, smoked meats charcuterie board, fresh fruit, double smoked Kielbasa ( so darn delicious) and the Kale Cesar salad.. all finished off by our Family and guests. Everyone loved the beer selection, the food and the vibe at Batch! We have always been supporters of Batch Brewery, now we feel like they are part of the Family. As always with Batch Brewery, just a wonderful , delicious experience! Thank you all for that.

This place has continued to innovate with brews and food, and the outdoor seating area continues to improve and expand to where it is now a gem and great for groups or events such as bar trivia.

The food: I'd like to give an assessment but I'm still waiting for it 🤨😐😑 food never came, waitress keep getting no answers and kitchen wouldn't prepare it, they were so understaffed at the kitchen, we waited for 2 hours and no entrees were served. The one and only thing it was brought were some pretzel sticks 🥨 which were delicious (but we were so hungry that we could've been biased 😂🤷🏻‍♂️) The gaming area: The feather bowling is very interesting, I'd never played until that time and overall from my visit I'd say this was the highlight ... Beware that the gaming court is filled with dirt so AVOID bringing white (or clear) shoes 🤫🤣 The yard: The yard or outside seating area is great, but also the weather was so nice when I was there. During the weekends they have some bands playing so be aware that a cover would and most likely be charged just for seating outside and listening. I think that partially because of this they were over crowded and the kitchen couldn't keep up with orders, unfortunately I was one of the affected ones.

I went recently to the Cadieux to see a Bob Seger tribute band. We had tickets, but I suggest you get there early. VERY limited seating outside only five minutes after the show started. It's nice to have the picnic community seating, but the tables are very uncomfortable and a little dangerous. Our table and benches were very rickety, swaying with everyone's every move, spilling drinks very easily, etc. Sitting with a bunch of strangers and hardly being able to move without knocking their drinks over is an uncomfortable situation. I saw a woman at another table flip one of the benches she was sitting on. The one end flying up in the air, hitting another customer in the head and leaving a look of bewilderment on the face of the woman who ended up on the ground in embarrassment. Just be careful when picking a sturdy table outside. Service was okay. Saw a lot of attitude going on, maybe because there wasn't enough wait staff? We had to go in and order our food and drinks. I recommend the mussels with fries!!

We had a great time at Cadieux Café … we popped in to check out the feather bowling, which was completely a blast to watch. We have Bocce where we are from, but have never heard of feather bowling… What a hoot! Would love to see this in Erie,PA. While we were there, we were surprised with a phenomenal band called Marshall Morlock from Key West. Their music was great & dad and son’s personalities were electric. We’ve never been to Detroit before and we’re so pleasantly welcome by the bartender, bowlers and the guests. Unfortunately, they were out of the rabbit and Belgian stew… But the clams were yummy. Thanks everyone for a wonderful welcome to Detroit!

What a fun, old authentic Belgian bar. We went for a drink on a Thursday and ordered Bavic beers. Then feather bowling league players showed up and we watched them. Decided to order a bowl of mussels and fries, they were great, get the garlic and horseradish mayo. Then a really fun jazz band showed up at 8 pm. All around great unplanned, unexpected adventure.

Service was super friendly, food was amazing. I could not recommend their onion soup enough, one of the best I’ve ever had, it’s a must-try. The Cafe also has live music and the selection of performers is phenomenal, the artists are incredibly talented.

This place is a Detroit institution- I love the food (Mussels!) and atmosphere. However, the service was sub par. Was definitely hurried and rushed to finish the meal despite it not being very busy. Might have something to do that my companion and I do not drink. After the meal, my companion and I lingered by my car in the parking lot and was rudely told to leave by staff parking lot attended. I understand there’s a band playing that require a cover charge, but we were not loitering. He was obviously inebriated and looking for a confrontation, which he did not get. Instead, I am this writing review. No matter how good the food is it any restaurant I will not return if staff is ill mannered.

Best neighborhood bar for live music in all of Detroit. Mussel Beach: 10/10 All this, plus feather bowling!

this place is reaaaaaaal special. You should start with ordering a sangria, then stepping out to the patio and enjoy the aire libre. Then go inside again and dance to some beautiful tunes, then go home and kiss your partner and kids in the forehead and there you go, a perfect day.

Funky. Fun and festive little wine bar. Outside space has music and plenty of seats in addition to space for dancing! Food trucks were out back the night I was there but not sure if they are always an option. MCW has been doing Detroit proud for over a decade! It’s a classy little spot but not expensive and not boogie! 🍷 I think my favorite thing was the outdoor patio with a DJ and dance floor!

MotorCity Wine is a rare gem! Great place for community engagement and an overall good time! Patio season is a special blend of fun and rhythm. The talent that comes through this space year round is something to behold. The wine selection is amazing and the staff are awesome! Food trucks frequent the parking lot for nourishment to keep the fun going!

We love the patio on Sundays, live music, good and reasonably priced wines and róse, and great vibe!

This place is magical. If you need to fill your energetic cup come here on a su day night and end/start your week off right. The staff is great at recommending wines depending on your mood and can introduce you to unique varietals. The owner's of this place are amazing! You feel like you at someone's house with the hospitality and the care and love that is put into everything. They have a to go bottle section as well with fantastic pricing, they don't mark up as high as other shops. Very very special place, a Detroit institution and gem. They often have food pop ups or you can order some cheese plates from the bar. Whether you are in the magical garden or inside under the disco ball you will definitely catch a vibe and want to move your body. Music is always on point!

An absolute gem in Detroit! Can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a chill evening of amazing, talented, local artists and good wine. Some people have been coming here for years and years and its obvious why. There's something very special about this place - and the people too! An absolute must for tourists and locals alike.

The service here was trash. I walked in and the bartenders looked at me, clearly saw me, then continued their conversation without any acknowledgment of a customer's presence. I figured they didn't want my money so I left immediately and went to a better place and had a much better time than I would have had here.

Excellent space, service and atmosphere. The musical guest was fantastic and I can't wait to go back again. Highly recommend reserving a table and purchasing tickets in advance. No food served but the Bartender/Mixologist made the best cocktails.

We went on Wednesday, All Night Happy Hour, where the drinks are $8. The bartender was really nice, funny and provided good service. This is such a chill place to hangout with friends to talk, laugh, play games and have some drinks. I want to go back when they have live music. Highly recommend!

The DJ was the best part. Tables are close and feels kinda small after a while. The drinks weren't too bad but definitely priced like a club. Running about $13-20 each. Service was slow but the music made the wait much easier. It was a taco and tequila party but getting tacos took forever. The waitress never came back to our booth (which was paid for) to take orders even though our table had a minimum. We went to the bar a few times.

I paid for a booth the night there was a DJ playing 90s music July 12th. First and foremost, the DJ was whack! He did not focus on 90s music and that would have been fine with me but his selections were pretty lame. He had some hitters, but then the next song would be a terrible option. The drinks took 20 minutes to come and it was not even packed in there. There were empty booths and people just leisurely coming and going. Once we received the drinks they were awful! They were not mixed well and I could not even finish them. Other people in my party also felt similar about their drinks. I actually had more people meeting me here for my birthday, but I told them not to come because it was so whack. I will not be back, which is unfortunate because I've heard so many good things about this place. With me having to pay for a booth AND a $200 drink minimum AND to have had such a terrible time! I feel like I should be reimbursed for the cost of the booth! I would appreciate it if someone in management could contact me.

Such an awesome place! We went here to watch a jazz band play. The overall atmosphere was soo cool. you would never know from the outside. The drinks were good as well. A little pricey but still good. Very hard to hear your friends over the music and to talk to the sever. They don’t serve food but they keep the drinks and water coming so that’s a plus. Overall, great place to check out!

Excellent as always! I had the weekly special the chicken sandwich and wow A+ my co-worker has the Philly cheesesteaks and said it was also excellent. Great service and if you work close by and show your badge you get a discount.

Hidden Gem. Stopped in after a football game. Good, honest. food. Well done. Excellent service. All our dishes we’re wonderful Bahn mi bowl, shrimp tacos, wings, poutine, baked cheese, ravioli (exceptional). Highly highly recommend.

I went here for a work Recognition meeting. We had the event upstairs, and with everyone there, it was jam-packed but still a good experience. The service was still good and quick. I didn't really get much while here but a drink, and I would like to return sometime to try out the food when it's less crowded.

Amazing spaces, food and (most importantly) people at Firebird! Had their daily special, a great southwest style salad with chicken breast. Will definitely be back asap!

Great place! We stopped in for dinner after a Tigers game and they took great care of us. The food was delicious and service was prompt and friendly. Four stars for atmosphere because it was a bit loud for dinner conversation at 5pm, but otherwise great!

Great food. Friendly staff. Cool place. Ate on the second floor and drank more on the first floor after. We went to watch the Lions game and had a great time. Very happy they put the game audio over the speakers. Ordered a pretzel (huge) and split a burger. The pretzel was great and the burger was above average. The only complaint was that a Guinness was served in a plastic cup, but I'm fully aware it may have been due to the high volume of people on a busy day. I'd definitely come back.

The location is great, you have the option to sit outside or inside. We chose to be indoors because it was just too hot but zero regrets. I had the tainted love cocktail and my cousin had the superfly, which were both amazing!!! I also had an off the menu drink which needs to be on the menu ASAP. Michael made me “The Tickle”. Literally the most amazing & super refreshing drink. Like literally perfect. Make it a permanent drink immediately especially for summer time. If Michael is unavailable ask for Megan because she’s just as amazing. The crab cake was decent but the drinks are definitely the best.

I was referred to The Monarch Club by my friend Ravan who is a traveling bartender there, and wow, what an incredible experience! I went for the first time on Friday Oct 24th and loved it so much that I came back again on Sunday. The rooftop is absolutely stunning — the views are spectacular and the atmosphere is so classy yet comfortable. On Friday, Jenny made me my very first Espresso Martini (which was amazing!), and on Sunday, Megan made another one that was just as delicious. To top it all off, Sean surprised us with a champagne toast for my birthday, which made the evening extra special. A birthday to remember, for sure! Thank you to the wonderful staff and The Monarch Club team for making it such a perfect weekend. I can’t wait to come back! 🥂✨

First thing you need to Know: if you come here On a weekend night, you cannot be in a rush. Especially with the outdoor terrace, all 25 tables will be full. It is reservation only however, The poor servers are running ragged outside with essentially no assistance from Anyone. They are hustling back and forth, and you’ll be lucky to get in and out in less than an hour and a half at least. Our server was so friendly, but I could tell She was in the weeds. The drinks were tasty. Also, the chairs are without cushions and they get uncomfortable after a while.

We were hesitant to make a reservation based on recent reviews. However we were more than happy with the experience. Our server was personable and attentive, the view was amazing and the club was very clean. We will be back!

We loved having drinks at the Monarch Club, the rooftop bar at the Element Hotel. The staff couldn’t be friendlier and our server Gregory was particularly great. He is always in good spirits and makes you feel as if you are his most important customer. The views of Comerica Park and the rest of the city are spectacular. We highly recommend checking out the Monarch Club.

The Monarch Club is a must if you're in the city. Reservations are also a must. It was our first trip there, definitely not our last! The minute you walk in you can feel the pride in the heritage of this club. The drinks were perfectly balanced, service was top notch (Greg is the absolute best), also, can't forget Lizzie who was there decorating for Christmas, everything looked amazing. The intimate environment draws people together, we met two amazing groups of people last night (Despina & her crew). The surroundings encourage togetherness but you could easily have a private romantic evening. The roof top decks (3) are beautiful with fantastic views of the city. The perfect place for a classy/romantic evening.

Came in for the first time for a burger because I heard it was a good spot. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The burgers I believe are frozen not fresh which gives you a tastless burger. It wasn't seasoned only thing that was seasoned was the fries. I got a double cheeseburger and the bacon was undercooked patties bland. Onion still has the outside skin on it and the tomato wasn't ripe and they just chopped a huge slice and put it on the burger. Honestly would've rather made my own.

I would’ve enjoyed it more if the fries wasn’t as hard & burnt up.. they burned them down and threw powder sugar on it that didn’t help, the burger was solid, but wish it wasn’t over cooked. Overall 3/5 only because i been here before and the food was better, but today wasn’t it. Kind of mad i spent my money on it. Just make sure yall look at before you leave on the takeout side. Had to stop by again & give it another try, This time they definitely Didn’t disappoint, the owner reached out and was very thorough on helping me out Next time I came in I came in tonight and it was great. It's your typical watering hole that the locals love to hang out at. But, if you want a really good burger downtown Detroit, this is the place to get one.

This place is so awesome! There are two floors that you can go back and forth. Bars are on both floors. The top floor has TONS of vintage arcade games and tables to eat at as well. There are even little tables set up throughout the floor, so you have a place to set your food and drink while you play! This place probably has every game you can think of! The staff were friendly, attentive, and kind. The food was 10/10. Ordered pizza, chicken parm sandwich, and the garlic knots. Will most definitely be back!

Fun dive bar with surprisingly good food! I got the burger and cheese sticks, but the pizza looked incredible (as the waitress kept serving them to other patrons). At night, the upstairs appears to be for a younger crowd and louder and the downstairs was more for a family crowd.

A friend and I came in for the Rotten Route Event. Upon arrival, it was unique in its decor. Upstairs has an arcade. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try these burgers, I've heard so much about them. We only came in for a drink before leaving on the bus. Service was fast, prices were fair, and drinks were just right! I will be back to try a burger for sure!

I went for lunch. I ordered a personal (small) BBQ chicken pizza. It was SO good! It was thin crust, extra cheesy, and the bread was sweet. It was big enough for two people. It's a little spot, but it's super cute inside. The lunch rush came in right around 1230pm. There's a full bar. It's definitely worth stopping in!

Historic (1902) Corktown Irish Pub w/ antique revolvers & Firefighter memorabilia. Smallish place that gets packed when busy & definitely a proper neighborhood/dive vibe. Nothing fancy but a well stocked bar n pretty fair prices! I didn't even know they served food but i always come at weird times/days. i like stopping in on slow days! N open on mondays! It's definitely worth checking out! 🍀 🍺 🍻 ☘️

Stopped here as part of the Detroit Bus Tour and had a great time at this bar. Very old school which is perfect if you just want to grab a beer with some friends and hang out. Would come back and try parking here for a game next time and ubering.

This dive bar has been around since 1902. The bartender is quite the character and provides entertaining conversation. Many celebrities have passed through her doors. It is a locals hang out but you will still feel welcome - just unlikely you will get a seat at the bar. A great place to head on a beautiful day and sit in the “backyard”. Play a game of cornhole, Jenga, or just hang out.

BELOW a star!!!! I felt racism, I live,own properties and employed (assigned)by state government to the area. I sat at the bar for 15-20min watching the bartender communicate with everyone except me, (there were only about 7-8 people at best and they had drinks already) (2 left while I was there)He never acknowledged me, just stood there talking to the patrons that were not black. SAD I have been in this neighborhood since 2006 & was in shock at the treatment I received. DO BETTER I slowly begin to walk out and still no response. I left thirsty SMH

If you love authentic neighborhood bars with interesting history, you will love this place. I was lucky enough to meet the current owner. He told me that the floors and bar are original. The original building was a general store and became a bar in the early 1900's. The corner where the stage is now was once a barber shop. The wall was knocked out and men could get a cut, shave and a drink. Genius! We got some chicken strips, mini tacos, and shrimp. The food was really great. The drinks are strong. I wish I lived closer. You'll love it!

Phenomenal hole in the wall with incredible atmosphere, delicious drinks and friendly staff! Cannot recommend this place enough for those looking for a classic tiki bar experience with friends. The bar looks amazing, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We tried half the menu of drinks and each one was better than the last. I bring visitors here all the time and every one of them raves about Mutiny Bar and how they want to come back. 10/10 recommend and will continue to bring family and friends for a great time!

We visited Mutiny Tiki Bar on a Thursday night and had a great time. It's nustled on the corner of Vernor highway and a subdivision and they have an awesome tiki themed experience with a wide variety of drinks on their menu from around the globe. What a cozy spot, I will definitely be back. The drinks, atmosphere, entertainment, and service were all great! So many great fashion choices were observed. To the bartender who maxed out the banana falernum in my cocktail for me: thank you for gracefully bowing to my expectations. The drink was perfect to begin with, I was just drunk.

Time capsule establishment. At one time a town hall, post office and jail! Supposedly haunted...wonderful. great for small groups

No food menu other than a soup of the day made by the barmaids mother. Whatever she feels like cooking, the day we visited is split pea, and not a fan of peas, this was loaded with chunks of ham and potatoes. Very stick to your ribs soup. A shot and a beer rounded out the “meal” the bartender was super friendly even had us sign her up”out of towners” book as we were from Alabama. When you search dive bar this is a go too place. Don’t let the doorbell deter you, or the seedy neighborhood. Stop in and see the “Oldest Bar in Detroit”

Friendly atmosphere. Great nostalgia. Not much for food selection. Needs to step the Bar game up. Had too many substitutes for the Top Shelf stuff. The cheap stuff gives me headaches moments later.

Visited this place on a Detroit Dive Bar tour in Windsor with Windsor Eats and really enjoyed ourselves! Great service and met some interesting locals. Also had my first Altes beer.....not bad!

Evening Bar serves delicious and interesting cocktails. I enjoyed the smoke and passion cocktail, made with mezcal and passionfruit. I would skip the spicy tuna crispy rice, as the tuna didn’t taste very fresh and had quite a fishy odor and taste.

Cozy small speakeasy with a cool Tiki vibe. Went on a Monday night and it wasn't too crowded. Nice selection of fun Tiki cocktails on the menu. Good service and comfy couches. We will be back.

I had a great after-dinner evening at Evening Bar! The atmosphere is very stylish yet relaxed, with great music and a welcoming staff. The cocktails were top-notch and well crafted, and the service was attentive without feeling rushed. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay for “just one more.” A perfect spot for a classy but comfortable night out in the city.

For a while, I have avoided writing a complaint as I had already opted not to patronize this establishment, but the experience still sits uneasy with me. I had an experience with that left me and my colleague feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were walking downtown (my colleague is not from here). As we were walking, we came across this place, which neither of us knew anything about. In being unaware of what it was, I approached the front door to ask. A woman at the door kindly and excitedly informed us that it was a speakeasy and offered to show us around. We agreed, and instead of being shown around, we were promptly seated at a table by the woman from door. Naturally, we sat down and began casual conversation. After some time, a waitress approached us for our orders. We each ordered a water, as we had just finished dining at another restaurant and were not intending to stay long, we just stopped in out of curiosity. Shortly after placing our water orders, I noticed that the waitress was speaking with other staff members while glancing at our table after she had walked away. About 5–10 minutes later, a manager, who identified herself as such, approached us and informed us that guests are not permitted to sit at tables unless they are ordering (more than water). While I understand and respect that policies exist, I questioned why this was escalated to a manager instead of being communicated to us directly by the waitress, especially since we were invited to sit down and would have left on our own without essentially being ushered out. I specifically asked if there was a reason the waitress did not informs us of the policy and the manner simply reiterated that it was policy, but we could sit in another area. I declined and chose to exit, instead. The encounter felt unnecessarily escalated and left us both with the impression that we were being watched and scrutinized in a manner that felt disproportionate to our dispositions and conduct. Although it’s possible that this was not racially motivated, I cannot ignore how uncomfortable it felt as a Black woman, especially given that my colleague was also a Black man. We were treated as though we had done something wrong for simply accepting an invitation to enter, sit, and order water. Respectfully, I ask that you monitor the way in which such policies are enforced. We were open to leaving had someone simply explained the policy upfront. Instead, we were observed, then confronted in a way that felt discriminatory and easily avoidable. Clear, consistent, and respectful communication goes a long way and so does the ability to make all patrons feel welcome, regardless of how much they spend or the perception of the patrons. Simply, do better.

I really enjoy the whole "speakeasy" vibe. Evening bar is a hidden gem inside of the Shinola hotel. It dimly lit and has retro decor which contributes to that feeling. The staff is great... (I recommend sitting at the bar to get the best service.) Liz and Mike were Amazing last time I was there. Not only do they take pride in making their cocktails into pieces of art, but they were also very personable, funny and had good taste in music. The music was great but not too loud that you need to shout to be heard by your party. I didnt get any food as I came for a few after dinner drinks but it looked good too. Make sure that you make a reservation or get there before peak hours because the venue is pretty small and fills up quickly. I want to give this place the due it deserves, but I also don't want it to become too popular because people ruin good things. Lol

Atmosphere is amazing. Service RUDE. I cannot believe they treat their customers like this. We were kicked out of our table after an hour of sitting and ordering drinks. The hostess was beyond rude. Not going back due to the service.

Great drinks. It was fun watching the bartenders make them too. Service was good too. But when they say small plates, they mean small. Ribs were pretty good, but 3 little riblets for $19. I’d go back for the drinks and service though.

My wife and I dined here and thought the service was great. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful in explaining the whole experience. The food was hit or miss. It seemed a little too experimental for some of the dishes, but other dishes were fantastic. We agreed that the cheesecake with brandy sauce might have been the best cheesecake we've ever had. The price was ultimately a bit of a shock at the end for the meal we ate. If we had enjoyed every dish we got I think it may have been acceptable, but that wasn't the case. This place I'm sure will resonate with people, unfortunately we seemed to not be the audience.

One of the better restaurant experiences near downtown. The service and food were both amazing. The waiter delivered a welcoming drink, great suggestions. The caviar was amazing. The chef def knows what he’s doing. My only complaint was that I let the waiter know my steak was wayyy too fatty and he agreed and took about 70% of my steak to show the chef. He came back without the steak and did not discount anything on the bill. I would’ve taken it home and threw it in a pan myself. All in all still an amazing experience.

I've been a fan of James since way back. This is a menu where nuance matters. Leverage the extensive bottle menu (the pairings are a secret strength), ask for a suggestion on the main and second course (the menu changes regularly) to tie your meal together, and don't miss out on the tartare (any tartare they're offering). The sound system is amazing, so if they're throwing a party don't miss it -- the space was made for parties.

Absolutely incredible experience. Every dish surprised us with creative flavors and flawless execution. For the quality of food, it’s very fairly priced, and according to my sister, it is the best small plate restaurant she’s ever visited. Big thanks to the staff for such kind service. The cheesecake was phenomenal.

Spectacular food, wine and excellent service. Had been recommended by friends and am so glad we were able to grab an early dinner. This quality of food makes me so excited to come home to Detroit and enjoy the new places on the scene. Trout, shells, cheesecake and lemon semifreddo. All incredible. Made resos on OpenTable for taking my wife out on a date. We arrived a little early and our table was ready. I had requested to sit next to my wife in the reservation, and even though they were busy, the honored the request even though we took up a 4 top table. Wine selection is very robust with a huge variety. Whether by the bottle or by the glass, you will definitely be more than satisfied with the selection. We opted for the sourdough and short rib tartare for starters. Both were incredible. I could have ordered 3 more tartares and just had that. For our mains, my wife had the squash entree, and I chose the whole rainbow trout. My trout was expertly deboned, still had the skin, and the Romesco sause was incredible. (If you order the bread, I wonder if you can get a side of it!?! 🤔). Several staff members came by to check on us and chat, which was really nice. Our server made excellent recommendations as we usually don't drink wine. Ladder 4 is a must experience. We are so glad we made reservations, and had this experience.we will definitely be back! Thank you Ladder 4!

Completed with this experience. I missed it last time I was in Detroit and so glad I made a point to get there this time. Service was exceptional. Wines were great. Food was awesome and dated my gluten and dairy restrictions. I would say BOOK THE RESY.

Went here to celebrate our anniversary! We were hungry so ordered most of the recommended plates. Pasta dishes were phenomenal but the ribeye could’ve been better. Rigatoni was my favorite with some crunchy flakes that added texture. Really pricey but highly recommend this place!

This place was hands down the best dining experience Ive had this year !!!!!! Chef gage made me feel at home and really made sure my meal was exceptional! It was a cold day so we sat next to the grill which was blazing and a great vibe . Every dish was delicious! They were small so I do recommend getting multiple plates . I definitely will be back in the future!!

Expensive, but worth it. Unique cocktails and seasonal dishes. Everything was served individually in sharable portions, so we were able to make our own dining experience. Our server, Leah was extremely helpful, both with suggestions and with the order that our food came.

We had an excellent dinner at Selden Standard on our weekend getaway to Detroit. The food was excellent, creative, and original, the drinks exceptional, and the service excellent. A fun, busy atmosphere. Really enjoyed our dinner there and are eager to come back to Detroit to try again.

Food was great, we shared 6 plates and 2 desserts and there wasn't anything anyone disliked. Favorites were the beef tartare, pork, and crostata with hazelnut gelato. The roast chicken was really good, but a little small for being a half chicken. We liked the meat dishes the best, but it would be good for vegetarians too as the veggie dishes are good on their own, not just as side dishes. Wine options are great and reasonably priced by restaurant standards. It's a bit noisy with music playing and mostly hard surfaces. They're really good with food allergies, verifying whether each plate that comes out has any allergens you told them about.

We called ahead and made a reservation, and they seated us on time. I would highly recommend the cocktails, very tasty, very unique. The food was amazing, I had the Michigan pork, and several small dishes including the carrots, cauliflower, and pasta.

Amazing seasonal food and drink menu, though a little on the pricier side. It’s a bit surprising to see how much they charge for just a small plate of vegetables. But when eating the food it felt very worth it to pay $20 for a plate of mushrooms because they honestly were the best mushrooms I’ve ever eaten.

An absolutely stunning mansion that transports you back in time. It was unbelievably intricate, art in every corner. You will receive a complimentary historical tour when you eat dinner here. There was a live pianist during the entire dinner which was nice. The food was very homey, especially the pork osso bucco. The beef Wellington is a must try. We also ordered the seafood mix, which I would not recommend (it was boring and fishy). The service was unmatched. Very kind, tentative staff. They were all lovely.

4.33/5 Our experience at The Whitney was nearly perfect. Dining in has been a to-do item for so long and it was great to finally experience the timeless atmosphere on my husband's birthday. Aside from the elegance, the food was delicious. It's hard to pick a favorite dish considering everything had tremendous flavor, but the season's mushroom velouté soup was special. The chef should make it a regular item on the menu. It was also nice to hear live music - the pianist was super talented. The only downside is the place got really busy as we were finishing up so it took way too long to get the bill from our server. We didn't even bother with dessert because we just wanted to leave. However, I'd come back assuming the pace could be better since the birthday meal deal is unbeatable for the quality.

There was all the ingredients for a fine dining experience…. With the important exception of the food. We pulled up to the front door and had our car parked conveniently and quickly by the valet. The building is stunning on the inside and out and a perfect example of a lumber Baron’s home from the late 1800’s. We were seated in a beautiful room that was originally the bedroom of the lady of the manor. However, this went a little downhill from there. For the 1st course I ordered Lobster Bisque and it was served almost cold. They must have completed forgot to heat it up, so it could not have been recently made. I sent it back and the replacement bowl was hot. The taste was just average. Our server was very apologetic and handled it very professionally. My main course was pork shank and to my disappointment it was also cold, almost refrigerator temp. I had to tell the server to take it back and she was visibly embarrassed. I felt sorry for her, as I very rarely complain or send food back. But twice in one sitting at a restaurant with the reputation of the Whitney! There is definitely something amiss in the kitchen. The staff were great though - removed the pork entree from my check and gave all 4 of us a nice desert.

Hosted a bridal shower tea party in the library. Everything was so enjoyable from the first tour with Samantha ceaserz until the day we arrived. Our servers were absolutely amazing 😍 very attentive. I gave the food a 4 star only because everything was quite wasn't so popular with our guests....in specific the sandwiches. I gave service a 4 star because of valet....very pushy... However overall I enjoyed the experience and our guests were in awe of the beautiful mansion and afternoon tea. Highly recommend hosting any party there. Samantha was very enjoyable and easy to work with!

Stumbled upon this gorgeous place after visiting the Detroit Institute of Art. Walked in for a cocktail at The Ghost Bar and ended up having an unexpected and unforgettable experience in a National Landmark. We visited in a Sunday and happy hour was happening all afternoon, which was awesome. Also noted there was a historian on site to give free tours of the house. We did not take one but will on our next visit. Only giving four start because we have a flatbread that was just OK, but we heard food at the restaurant below is fabulous.

Incredible and historic beauty. You are blessed if you can enjoy just one meal here. The brunch buffet is huge, located in several rooms and on two floors. Highly recommend coming here for a special occasion. They have events and dining for all price points. Check out the ghost bar on the 3rd floor and definitely take the elevator. Even thif second floor bathroom is beautiful.

We recently celebrated our 30th anniversary here and the staff went over the top. A personalized menu and hand written card! Our server Jody was incredible, the food was delicious! The whole experience was perfect! Thank you for making our special day that much better!

Awesome experience. The food was flavorful, plated well, drinks were refreshing. Service was amazing, helpful, and super accommodating. Portion sizes were good for the price. It seems like it could be very noisy depending on where you sit and the traffic but was not an issue. The inside has a lot of character. The only downside is you can't get attached to a seasonal menu.

This was recommended to me by family and friends who live in Detroit. I tried the twice cooked egg, which is highly reviewed by others. It wasn't my favorite but I also had the sourdough bread which was yummy and a delicious butter that came with it. Then also had the stone fruit and melon and feta salad which was absolutely Divine! I love that they serve free still or sparkling water on tap. Also. Nice touch!

Last time I went here was 10 years ago and the food is still just as good. The dill pickle cocktail was SO good. We shared most everything and were not disappointed with anything. Portions were good sizes.

Overall our experience as a group was so lovely. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff (all of them) so attentive, kind, and punctual. It’s an experience worth having. Highly recommend. When looking at the menu it moves from light to heaviest as you go down the list. We were a group of three and ordered a total of 8 plates, and it was too much food. We all ordered drinks. I had the Mockingbird Mocktail. It was a 5/5. I really enjoyed it. Another ordered a Long Island, which they do different by making their own cola, which is more herbal. It’s really nice. And the last drink which was also really good was the Finale Word (similar to the Last Word on the menu but made with bourbon). Dinner items Bread Service: it was warm, fresh baked, and the butter was a nice touch. It was nice way to start the meal. Twice Cooked Egg: this was probably the best salad I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this salad. It was so lovely and my favorite dish of the whole meal. Smoked Fish Cakes: as someone who is not a huge fish fan these were made very well. Seasoned well and I like that they were not a heavy coated and deep fried cake. Fried Potato Salad: this was my least favorite menu item. I felt as though the flavors all together didn’t work great. It felt like a lot and a bit heavy. Pork Belly: this was an interesting take on spices and flavors. It was an overall interesting combination that works well. The pork belly itself was cooked very well. It was delicious. Goat Confit: I wish I had liked this more. The goat was fried and a bit too crispy for my liking. I might not order it again, but it was worth trying. Amish Chicken: The onion jam was a bit salty for me. The chicken itself was good well but heavily coated in spice. The spatzle was good. I honestly preferred that over the chicken itself. Sundried Spinach Fettuccine: I enjoyed this dish a lot. It was very spring from me. It was somewhat difficult to share because the pasta itself was hard to serve with a spoon. I would order it again.

Every single dish we ordered was cooked and prepared to perfection — you can truly taste the care and creativity in every bite. Ryan was an incredible help with navigating the menu and made excellent recommendations that made our meal even more enjoyable. The cocktails and mocktails were both crafted beautifully and packed with flavor — super delicious and refreshing. And let’s talk about dessert: the warm cookies with milk were simply divine — pure comfort in every bite — and the donuts were equally amazing. You really can’t beat it. Wow! We stepped outside our usual picks on the menu, and the food did not disappoint. The carrot steak is a must-try—you won’t believe the flavor combo! Drinks? A solid 10. Stopped in for brunch and I’m so glad I did! The pancakes were absolutely deliciouslight, fluffy, and full of flavor. Easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. I was super excited when I heard that Lady of the House was re-opening. It was one of the first top-rated Detroit restaurants I experienced, and I couldn’t wait to see how this new incarnation would live up to the original. Happily, the menu delivers—with a mix of exciting new items and beloved classics, including the carrot steak from the original location. I also love that the menu remains vegetable-forward while offering excellent carnivores options. Every dish that arrived at our table was beautifully presented. There is a deep understanding that we eat first with our eyes, this is a restaurant where one is genuinely palpably excited to try it each dish as soon as you lay eyes on it. The winter salad in particular was visually arresting. The new Lady of the House maintains the old-world charm of the original while incorporating a modern aesthetic that feels refined, and effortlessly cool. Unlike its predecessor, this location has more of an urban cool ambiance. Service was outstanding. Our server, Morgan, was thoughtful, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. It speaks volumes that when the chef announced the re-opening, former staff dropped what they were doing to return. It clearly shows in the service that the team loves what they do and loves who they do it with. Unfortunately, where things fell apart for me was the salt. Dishes were much saltier than I recall from the previous iteration of Lady of the House, to the point where the beautiful flavors and textures were overpowered. As someone who is not a fan of salt, I found myself struggling with taste fatigue, and each subsequent bite became less enjoyable. At one point, it felt like a salt coating was forming on my tongue, dulling my ability to fully experience the food as it was meant to be enjoyed. Morgan was wonderfully accommodating when I mentioned it, requesting that the kitchen go lighter on the salt. But by then, unfortunately my tongue was not able to recover. If not for this issue, I would be a regular in a heartbeat. Lady of the House is still an amazing restaurant with exceptional service, a beautifully curated menu, and an ambiance that makes you want to linger. But until the seasoning is dialed back, I’m hesitant to return. Here’s hoping for a small tweak, because otherwise, this restaurant is as fabulous as ever.

Lady of the House is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit. From the moment you sit down…warm towel, crackers, and tea in hand…you know you’re in for something special. The carrot steak? Tastes like a buttery croissant somehow. It’s magic. I order it every time. The New York strip is another favorite…so much flavor, perfectly cooked, and paired with the most delicious potatoes. Steak tartare isn’t usually my thing, but I always order it here. It’s packed with flavor and done so well. Same with the shrimp butter…another dish that surprises you with how good it is. When the prime rib is on the menu, it’s a great one to share it’s tender, flavorful, and definitely worth getting. For dessert, the cookies and milk are a must (always a hit), and the potato donuts are super good too. My usual order when I go with someone is: steak tartare, carrot steak, New York strip, and cookies to end the night right. Beyond the food, the ambiance has such a nice flow and energy to it…it just feels good to be there. I’ve even started a birthday dinner tradition at Lady of the House. It’s that kind of place. Update: Recently stopped in for Father’s Day brunch and had a great experience. We ordered mimosas, the steak tartare toast, prime rib hash, and pancakes for the table. Everything was flavorful and well presented…perfect for a celebratory brunch.

Great distillery tour. Come to the warehouse and learn about how whiskey is made! Our tour guide was very friendly and super animated to talk about what he does on a daily basis. We also saw the warehouse cat :) The tour started with a whiskey punch, which was awesome. At the end of the tour, you will get a chance to sample a few liquors (whiskey, rye, rum, gin) from the distillery and buy some bottles to take home. They have merch, too.

I took my friend for her birthday it was such a great time. Michael was AMAZING very educated, fun, knowledgeable about the products/process! The tour was fun Micheal very engaging and funny! I will definitely recommend 👌🏽

First time here and it was fantastic!!!! Paul welcomed us with a great hello and such a cheerful attitude. We (my husband and I ) enjoyed a flight of the whiskey flight and an idle hands. Both were superb! The bar itself is fun and relaxed. We will definitely be back again!

Stopped in to get a bottle of Isabella Absenthe. I live in PA and was visiting Detroit to visit B Nectar Medary. Happened to mention I was in search of Detroit Distillery and the staff there gave us directions. Love how the local businesses are looking out for each other! Wat a great neighborhood it is located in. You can see the locals are trying to revitalizes the neighborhood. Best wished to all !

The distillery is very cute and the bartenders are nice but THIS GUY RIGHT HERE, IS A WHOLE VIBE!!! Paul is pure SUNSHINE!! Please come by this place in the summer and witness his magical vibe at the tiki bar right outside! Thank me later. He is funny, hospitable, kind, cute and sunshine on a cloudy day. I hope when I come back home to Detroit, he is always here! Oh and give him raise! He deserves it! ♥️

The perfect place to take reprieve from the Market chaos. The tiki bar theme (summer 2025) is really cool with killer drinks.

My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and I was led to expect great things. She had gone once before and had only good things to say. For what it costs, the main plates that were served for our meal felt underwhelming. They were plated and dressed nicely, but did not deliver on any sort of distinct flavor. That being said, the crab cakes tasted very good. They had a nice texture that wasn't too dry and struck a good balance between savory and spicy. Our favorite item, however, was the dessert (not pictured). I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed the cheesecake. It lacked the fresh berries that the menu suggested it would have, but was delicious nonetheless. I also have nothing but good things to say about their service and space. The server and GM both did their best when they knew I was dissatisfied, and I saw that there were regulars who seemed to look forward to seeing the staff. Were I to go back, it would be for drinks and desserts after enjoying a meal elsewhere.

I didn’t love the vibes of this place but the food was a 10/10. I got the steak and fries, omg can’t stop thinking about the sauce that came with it. We were seated in the bar area which was pretty noisy, we had a reservation which was why we were kinda surprised we were seated near the bar. But other than that service was great and food was amazing!

Went to Lumen a few weeks ago and the food here is always amazing. The service and ambiance is also very nice. Our waitress was very attentive and ensured that we had an overall great experience. She even let us wait out a storm indoors because she knew our next location was down the street. Lumen is the place to go for great food and service.

Our first visit to Lumen was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we arrived, we were treated with top-notch hospitality — a special shoutout to Riley, who provided truly amazing service throughout the evening. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, Riley made our dinner experience feel extra special. She also had some fantastic suggestion that we tried, and absolutely loved The food was just as memorable. We started with the crispy pork belly appetizer, which was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of flavor and texture. For entrées, the Lumen Burger was juicy and flavorful, and the Great Lakes walleye was cooked to perfection — flaky, fresh, and beautifully presented. And dessert? Wow. The crème brûléed cheesecake was rich, creamy, and had the perfect brûlée top — a creative twist on a classic. The cookie butter banana pie was indulgent and unique, and it left us already planning our next visit. Lumen combines great food, stylish ambiance, and world-class service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a standout dining experience in Detroit!

I pleasantly enjoyed my time at Bookies. The food was great and I had a very helpful server. I would recommend this place if traveling to the Downtown Detroit area. My server Leah was friendly and made the experience better than it already was. 10/10 would recommend. If you’re looking for a good dish I loved the nachos as well as the pulled pork !

Visited last week during a work event. The staff are incredibly friendly, the drinks were top notch and the food we tried was beyond excellent. The Irish Nachos were crispy and flavorful, and frankly beat the food at the next restaurant we stopped at. I'll make a point of returning when I'm next in Detroit.

We were pleasantly surprised to be seated so quickly and greeted by our server! Leah had such good energy and was so welcoming the entire time. She gave us a recommendation to try the pulled pork and it did not disappoint! It was very flavorful and tender not dry like some others. Great setting and a very clean environment.

Had great food and drinks here. The atmosphere was very nice, and I had phenomenal service from a very kind young man named Dan. He was very accommodating and quick with his service, while making good conversation and made me feel welcome. I will definitely be coming back here!

I give it a 4.5 out of 5! Bookies is thee place for great bar food and cold beer before a Tigers or Red Wings game. Leah was fantastic, very nice, personable, helpful and sweet. Every server and employee should be like her! The pulled pork sandwich was awesome but, just one head scratcher, chicken nachos without diced tomatoes or shredded lettuce? Could also use a few more chunks of chicken, otherwise Bookies is always our "go-to" bar before games or concerts. Thanks Leah, give that girl a raise!

Went here for my first time yesterday before the Detroit rolling pub picked my group up. I was greeted very rudely by the hostess (dark skinned African American woman with an hat and a crop top with a belly button ring) and rushed as I was finishing my phone call. I walked in and called someone from my group to see when they would arrive so I could grab us a table! I wasn’t even at the counter on my phone because I feel that’s rude but I was approached very rudely by the door and then rushed to get a table when there was literally only one other table there eating when I walked in. After we sat down, another large group walks in. I witness the same rude hostess rudely greeting the group and rudely telling them to leave their coolers outside the door! I even watched one lady from the group tell her friend how rude the hostess was. So this now told me, it was not me or the other lady patron, that this is a personality trait within the hostess herself! Thank god the waitress that came to our table was not this woman because I’ll tell you right now her tip would have IMMEDIATELY dropped down to 10% for the attitude. That also brings me to my next issue with the coolers. I understand how Law works, and I understand it is a law to not bring alcohol into a bar. However, this place being the meeting spot for the Detroit rolling pub, I feel that should have been clearly stated in the communications from the rolling pub and clearly communicated outside of bookies. Having the ghetto security guard yelling at people and telling them he will watch their things as I literally watch him holding a conversation in the restaurant not paying attention to anything outside is insane to me, especially when it was never communicated through the Detroit rolling pub communications. But anyways, I probably would go back because the food was great and give it one more shot, but they definitely need to reconsider who they hire as a hostess. Her job is solely to greet people, and she failed miserably at that. I also hope she never wants to become a waitress there one day because she will literally leave with nothing at the end of the night with that attitude. Find staff that cares to be a nice person at the job THEY CHOSE!

Service is terrible. The prices on the menu are terribly off. One item was twice as listed on a paper menu. They have a disclaimer that prices may change but they should be able to print accurate pricing. This has an old dive bar feel with good food. I gave this place 2 tries but bad experience both times that makes it not worth a return or to recommend to anyone. There is much better service and food near the convention center. $7.50 for the half sausage sandwich.

I went to Tommy's with a group on a total lark while at a convention. We just Googled "best wings in Detroit", Tommy's was one of the first listed, just a short walk from the hotel and we all liked the look of the place and reviews. Definitely the best find of our trip. This was definitely a neighborhood bar, it seemed most of the people knew each other, and there were definitely some colorful characters. The staff was great and very accommodating, and the vibe was really friendly all around. The look is definitely dive bar, but it was clean as can be and in really good shape, and the neighborhood was safe and walkable. We were expecting run of the mill bar food, but it was definitely a cut above. The wings, tots and onions rings were all great. Their house rub on the wings came off a little salty at first, but none of us could stop eating them, especially the hot sauce provided. Great bar food, friendly patrons and an outstanding staff made for a great night out. Definitely will be heading back to Tommy's next time I'm in town

Tommy's is a classic dive bar in all th best ways. Tommy will greet you at your table, hang out, give you some great menu suggestions, and make sure you are cared for. The ruebens and the Monstah Burger were very good. Ask for queso cheese with your tots! Drinks are cheap and service is reasonable. Look around at all the memorabilia in the bar and appreciate the 185 year old building. It's worth it!

We had such a great time at Tommy's. Great burgers and personable service. A basket of popcorn is put on your table, usually by Tommy himself, before you even realize it. We stopped in before the Tigers game & caught their shuttle to the game.

Great food as usual. I would have given it a 5 star but it seems like that we're running short on corned beef and sourkraut for the Rubens. Service was great.

Found this great local bar on a business trip. Bartender made me feel like I have been drinking there for years. Super friendly and wicked funny. Was like dinner and a show. The popcorn lived up to the hype too. Had a great burger. Fair warning they give you about 4 lbs of tater tots, which were excellent too. Bartender also introduced me to the local favorite Faygo Rock and Rye. Kind of like a spicy cream soda. Highly recommend this spot great food and good drinks at fair prices.

Tommy the friendly & charming owner came over and gave us a rundown of the menu and everything sounded so good it was hard to choose. I'm a chicken wing expert and theirs are delicious with their housemade ranch which I loved. They serve food late and the wait staff were great and playing good music. We were grateful to stumble upon this gem during our visit to town.

One of the coolest wine bars in the city and we loved our time here. We will definitely be back! There are so many cool seating options, the vibe is immaculate, and the wine/cocktail options are fantastic. They host events often and have a lovely patio space in the front. Highly recommend!!

Stopped in after a Tigers game for a drink. Cozy atmosphere with library inspired storage for wine and spirits. Definitely recommend for a glass of wine or cocktail. Recommended by @j_r0ze. Large Rose' selection with local wines featured. Had a delicious Lemoncello Spritz.

Staff, wine, vibe, and food were all top notch, chefs kiss. This place is the best of wine tasting. Knowledgeable but not snobby, great options, without being overwhelming. Relaxed. Good wine, and good vibes. I'll be back here every time I come to the D for date night. Keep up the good work y'all. My wife and I have a great time.

The Royce is a wine bar with an absolutely fantastic vibe. Their menu is easy to understand as it goes from top to bottom light to heavier. Im a tannin based wine drinker so the deeper and richer the better. This spot also has light bites, great decor and plays Disco. The kind and welcoming Joe from NYC was fun and taught us the menu effortlessly as we are always doing ‘research’ with our wines. Bobby knows everything to do to make your time here in Detroit fancy and fantastic. Thank you Joe and Bobby for making us feel like locals. We will be back and looking forward to trying more of your wine selection.

My friend took me here. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely spot. We sat upstairs in the loft area which is a very decent size. I enjoyed every sip of my Spanish wine. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want a romantic evening or just want to hang and talk with a friend. There is also plenty of room for bigger groups. If you love wine and is searchihg for something "different",  this is the place.

Connor and Joe had great suggestions, were friendly and were amazing conversationalists. We opted for a wine flight. The wine they recommended was delicious and very reasonably priced by the bottle.

Kit was great! You can tell there is a very bright and vibrant passion for the history within the family that has owned this location for generations! Very happy to talk about the history. Has a cigar room! The history and the pride the family takes in their bar is beyond measurement. Yes it may be off the beaten path, but I will be back! I love this bar! Kit was very personable and made us feel right at home.

Stopped by here as part of the Detroit Bus Tour. Really cool old bar, the inside has such a vintage style and is perfect for grabbing a couple beers with friends. Staff was very friendly and even provided a jello shot for my birthday.

Went there with the drunks of antiquity tour last night (highly recommend the event). The bigger female bartender of the two was the worst bartender we have had. She was incredibly rude to all of us, to the point many didn’t even tip her. I’d highly recommend replacing her with someone more friendly to attract business.

Stopped here in the Drunks of Antiquity bus tour. Loved the atmosphere. A lot of things on the walls and ceilings to look at. The barbershop room was pretty cool. Bartender was nice and friendly.

Legendary neighborhood bar, great picture of vanishing way of life. Plenty of space for welcoming a tour bus, plenty of intimacy to relax for a couple of hours. We visited the cigar room which has some amazing artifacts of century+ of its existence. No food but up to date drink menu, including NA beers and liquor.

Nice place. Very homey. Made you definitely have the feeling of being at someone’s home. Decorated nicely for Christmas. Loved the big doggie of course. The only issue I had was a nasty patron who yelled at all of us to not close the door behind us. Which out of respect when you leave you shut the door. At that point I felt very uncomfortable I couldn’t wait to leave!!

My organization brought about 300 folks from 6:30-10 to Barcade on a Thursday for fun food and drinks. The staff did an excellent job handling this capacity throughout the night. They kept the food coming and participants enjoyed the variety of small plates. They have an amazing selection of beers and their games are some of the greatest. I would do an event there again.

This place is awesome. I highly recommend coming here and playing some of the awesome retro arcade games. The drink selection is great and you can drink and play games. They got every retro arcade game you can think of from frogger to mortal Kombat to asteroids. They also have food so you can eat, drink, and play

We had such a great time here! The Bartender, Bao, was very friendly and personable! We enjoyed his company and his recommendations! My girlfriend and I split the short rib grilled cheese with au jus, and it was so damn good! Thanks for being great!

This place needs to be rinsed off or the staff to just go and wipe things down. Tables were damn dirty.. one of the staff members bald head dude no eyebrows was rude for no reason. Only go for the games ...food was decent if you have a nice buzz.

At 3 tokens (75c) per pinball machine, this is a must stop for pinball fans. It was my first time playing a spooky pinball machine (Alice cooper's nightmare Castle), and they have a fine selection of staple games.

The games seem to be kept up reasonably well and are not ridiculously expensive to play, unlike some of the big name places. They have a reasonable variety of food and drinks at what I would consider to be average prices. The place is generally pretty clean overall and the bartenders and servers are friendly. Overall, worth stopping by to check out.

Visited in the summertime, had my adult children with me, and they enjoyed the place as well. Lots of games, a few weren’t working well (but show me an arcade where everything is working and I’m 100% sure it would be EMPTY) but most were marked as such. No free-play here, so although you don’t need cash (they have an ATM but really you can use your credit card at the bar to get tokens) make sure you have some money to access if you want to play the games. I was driving so all I had was diet soda, and I didn’t eat so I can’t really rate the drinks, so don’t count that as a downcheck. Atmosphere and vibe is relentlessly positive (as, by-and-large, is the city it’s in) and welcoming. You’ll love this place. As to the games? Lots of variety, including a healthy collection of “greatest hits” pinball and video games, you won’t be wanting here. Some are exclusively in Japanese, so more power to you if you can translate but I doubt it’s necessary. Can’t speak to parking: we Uber’d.

Decided to try this place for the first time on Saturday. After we parked on the street and paid for the spot we walked over and it was very packed, it was first come first serve so a lot of people were standing and it was incredibly loud but being that it's a sport bar that's to be expected. We found seats after 10 min at the bar, the service was okay, not very friendly or attentive maybe because it was a game day, not sure but we ordered our food and it didn't take too long. The quality was above average for a sports bar....I ordered the patty melt and I added bacon, I also got the potato wedges. She got the fried chicken sandwich. All the food came out piping hot and my patty melt was very good with the bread being crispy and the very filling, the potato wedges were crispy and seasoned and the chicken sandwich was the same. All in all the food was good the atmosphere and service were okay. The food was just bar food but very good quality for a sports bar.

Fun friendly atmosphere. Place has some games like a large jenga and video games. Many tvs to watch the big game. We had a Tito’s and Coke and that was $10. The cheese curds were a little spicy not sure if it was pepper or something else.

Awesome place, just off the beaten path. Dont let the name fool you. Great atmosphere. Bartenders were friendly and helpful. On spot. The food was great. I had the Smash Burger Patty Melt, it was fresh, real stringy chesses and toasted perfectly. I would highly recommend you check them out. Outdoor seating is available too..

My watering hole and the best chicken sandwich in the city. Whatever type of night out you’re looking for, 2nd best is the answer paired with a 40oz high life on ice.

I have never written a review before but I felt obligated to. I have never had a better chicken sandwich in my life. I was so surprised at how good it was. The potato wedges were also fantastic. Food is amazing.

Skye, my bartender, was knowledgeable & attentive. I appreciated her offering me water before I even needed to ask. Loved her recommendation on trying Safeword. It was a delightful choice. Looking forward to my return. The open front that outlooks the sidewalk makes The Oakland the fabulous choice that it is. & the dark Marie antoniette vibe adds to its character

Went here for the first time yesterday. Great service. Drinks are incredible. Cocktails were half off for happy hour so my bill was next to nothing. And the 22% tip that’s included on the bill is meant for all the people who obviously don’t tip well leaving all the bad ratings. TIP YOUR BARTENDER. This isn’t a dive bar. They put work into making these drinks.

Service here was painfully slow—20 to 30 minutes just to get a single drink. When my friend finally got an Old Fashioned, it came out ⅓ full with three tiny ice cubes. Hardly what you’d expect from a cocktail bar. To make matters worse, our server openly complained about being too busy, and the bill came with an automatic 20% gratuity. One friend only ordered a water and still got hit with nearly $6 in “gratuity” for it. Between the sluggish service, poorly made drinks, and forced tipping, this was an all-around disappointing experience. Definitely not worth the visit.

I visited the Oakland for the Christmas pop-up and had a great time! The atmosphere definitely put me in the Christmas spirit and the drinks were so good! To add to the experience the drinks came in festive cups that were available to purchase. Definitely recommend checking them out

Wow, this is the best place I've ever been. The drinks were great. The playlist was incredible. But the service was definitely the best I've seen in any drinking establishment in my entire life. I will fight anyone who dares deny, this is the place to be.

This place seems to be a highly popular hangout spot. Recommend proper reservations as the wait times are at least an hour. Loved the drinks. Great spot for casual drinks. Very vintage interiors and dim lighting is the vibe. The music selection is spot on. The drinks are little expensive but yum. I definitely see myself going back. Recommend the place!!

Went around the holiday season. Drinks were delicious and the servers/bartenders were friendly and kind. Beautifully decorated as well. Unfortunately the host is an uptight bully. Makes it difficult to enjoy the ambiance watching him be condescending to customers.

Best tiki drinks I have ever had. Garnishs are wonderful on every mug they serve you. Great decor and incredible service with exotic banging music in the background. I already want to come back and try drinks I didn't order on my first visit! Update 1/16/22: I came back recently and it was just as incredible as I remember. Lost River constanly makes new drinks and there was a menu of new options to choose from! The new menu was delicious! Thank you Lost River for the truly memorable experience and to the two amazing ladies who were serving us all night, you girls rock! Thank you for putting Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea on the projector, it fit so well with the tropical aesthetic!!

Very helpful staff, very tasty drinks! I was worried that I would have to go to Porcos all the way in Cleveland, OH to get a good Tiki drink but my fears have been laid to rest by the quality that Lost River is mixing in their cocktails! Will definitely be going back again soon and looking forward to when they start selling mugs!

It is not hard to let yourself drift away at Lost River. The cocktails are on point and the service exceptional. It is hard for me to choose a single favorite but a Lost River Swizzle is great on a hot day. You will not be disappointed by the atmosphere either. Come treat yourself!

One of the few original Tiki bars in Detroit. Easy parking (free) and a great drinks menu. All the usual suspects, unique cocktails. The staff is awesome, the drinks are strong, the vibe is superb and it feels very authentic.

This was a cute themed place. It was nice to visit, but I wouldn't return. I may bring others here who are visiting the area. The drinks are sweet. The service was wonderful though. The old fashioned was my favorite drink, but it came filled a quarter high in a regular cup. A smaller glass would make more sense. The Jet Pilot drink on fire is pretty cool. The cutter was sweet and tart - not my favorite.

Visiting from Atlanta. We came in kinda close to last call- the staff was SO friendly, informative, and welcoming despite our late arrival. Their service made us all the more excited to load up on merch before heading out of town!

I used to visit this place frequently for the world’s best piano accompaniment karaoke, but my recent visit last weekend, when I brought an out-of-town friend, was disappointing. Although I have many fond memories, the service and atmosphere have noticeably declined since the staffing changes behind the bar, particularly since Wolf left. I hope things improve so it can reclaim the joyful, fun-loving vibe it once had.

Went here just before closing with some friends, was able to quickly get drinks at the bar then proceeded to the piano room. Very quickly the bartender tracks us down with my recipient and hands it to my female friends and says have him fix the tip. Left him a $4 tip for a quick two minute transaction. Everyone in our group felt bullied and it completely ruined the experience. Since he gave the receipt back, the bar proceeded to charge $15 instead of the $4 tip I had wrote down. I don't like to leave bad reviews but wanted the owner and manager to be aware of how this bartender is treating patrons.

Definitely was a wait for the Karaoke side even though we had a reservation. But once we were able to get seater the singing and energy of the room was great. Our servers were really great and can sing as well

We were there for less than 15 minutes. He made 3 drinks for us. $40. We tipped $5. This was in reflection of our interaction. As he saw the tip, he rolled his eyes, made a rude face and said “why would you tip this? Shouldn’t there be a 1 in front of this?” Implying he expected $15. My friend said “your demeanor and attitude wasn’t very welcoming” and we left after that. I’ve been a bartender and I’ve received some great tips and some not so great ones. I’ve NEVER asked a patron why they tipped me what they did. It was such a turn off to add to the already existing negativity. We were pretty regular customers for about 6 months (coming in like 1-2x a month). Wolf was a great bartender! He made my birthday last year so fun and enjoyable. We’d recommended this place to many of our friends and brought a lot of our friends here. Thats changed with our last visit. When we entered it was a moderately busy but not crazy/hectic night. I recognized who I believe to be the owner or manager working and asked if Wolf was still working there. This started our experience off on a bad note - as soon as I asked that he very curtly said “no he’s no longer working here”. I expressed my disappointment lightheartedly and moved on quickly. I asked if they had any egg white drinks and he acted like I asked for something so ridiculous and out of the question (it’s fairly common in my experience). We all independently noticed his rudeness but continued on to hopefully keep it positive. I started explaining the drink wolf always made us which was a spicy drink. Very rudely, he said “um?a margarita?” I explained it was not a margarita but I’m flexible if he can whip something up that’s spicy! I was just trying to be positive and enjoy one of our fav spots. Idk if you’ve ever felt this way at a bar, but it felt as if we were inconveniencing him by just ordering our drinks. He never cracked a smile and it was just so off from our usual experience. Wolf made you feel like he genuinely enjoyed making the drinks and getting creative. We did NOT get that this time. Soooo disappointing. I loved this place so much!

The bar tenders are rude and the drinks are subpar. Came in on a Saturday night with 2 friends and They charged me for my friend’s drink without asking. Then I asked if they could sweeten my drink because it tasted terrible and the bar tender asked for a tip when I in fact tipped them when paying for the drinks. What made it worse, he starts to make discriminatory jokes with the other bar tender in front of us. I took two sips of the drink and left because of the unwelcome staff. Never will recommend or come back.

Best to have your reservations before you get in. This place has a different vibe, if you are looking for peaceful evening to chit chat then this is not for you. If you are in mood for a speakeasy/karaoke joint to sing your heart out, give this place try.

Swanky addition to the downtown nightlife scene. We were only able to sit at the bar in the front room because a large group had just entered and filled the back karaoke room. We did walk through though and the piano player was impressive and it looked like everyone was having fun. The decor is lovely. Vintage but not kitschy. It's a little pricey but really nice. I would go back and try to get into the back room. I can't sing to save my life but it would be fun to watch.

A really great bar and club in Hamtrammick. I came down here for Detroit Techno and to see WYLDCAT play. The bouncer, bartender, and staff were really cool people. The bar had a good selection and everyone was really nice. I would recommend coming here anytime for a show or just a good time.

What a great venue! The place is simple and on the smaller side for a club, but it has the amenities you would expect...a raised dance floor, pool table, plenty of bar seating, and an outdoor patio. The service has always been exceptional and they host so many great local events and DJs.

This place was so cool and moody. Very good margaritas on draft and funky music. A great vibe.

This place definitely had a Cool vibe to it. Really cool decor see pictures beautiful lights dance floor. Made numerous new friends there from DJ's to Old School punk. I had the "Donk" faygo red with strawberry vodka. Check it out!!!
