Shopping mall
City Center One Split, inaugurated in 2010, stands as the second largest shopping destination in Dalmatia, sprawling over an impressive 57,000 square meters. Nestled in the eastern part of Split, this vibrant shopping center boasts a diverse array of stores including popular brands like H&M and Mango. With three floors filled with shops and eateries ranging from fast food to casual dining options, it offers something for everyone.
Plenty shops, European prices. Clean toilets even for mummy’s separately. Plenty free parking. It’s a bit away from the city center. Food court with local and franchise brands included
Roland S — Google review
If you’re looking for a mall with mostly the same brands you’ll find in every other mall, you’ve come to the right place. Three floors with a simple corridor based floor plan and a food court. Overall very similar to the Split Mall. Roughly the same content as well. Very easily accessible parking garage.
Robert I — Google review
City Center One in Split is a great shopping center. The environment is modern and pleasant, everything is clean and well maintained. The toilets are very clean and free to use, which is a big plus. Free parking is available and the location has good accessibility, making it easy to visit. Overall, a very convenient and comfortable place for shopping and spending time. Highly recommended!
Tibike — Google review
City Center One Split is a fantastic shopping destination that offers a diverse mix of stores, entertainment, and dining options. Located conveniently in Split, it has something for everyone, from high-end fashion brands to local boutiques, making it a great spot for both tourists and locals. The mall is spacious and well-designed, allowing for a comfortable shopping experience with wide walkways and plenty of natural light. It has a good selection of both international and Croatian brands, ranging from Zara, H&M, and Guess to Croatian labels. The layout is easy to navigate, and the mall is clean and well-maintained. Beyond shopping, the entertainment options are a big plus. There’s a cinema, a play area for kids, and even some seasonal events that make it more than just a retail space. The dining options are varied, offering everything from quick bites at fast-food chains to more relaxed meals at sit-down restaurants, with choices that cater to different tastes and budgets. Parking is abundant and easy to access, and the customer service in the stores and mall is generally friendly and helpful. Overall, City Center One Split offers a well-rounded experience that makes it a top choice for shopping, dining, and leisure in the area. Highly recommended for a day out!
Saiful ( — Google review
The centre is under renovation, but it does not interfere with shopping because the scaffolding is secured and does not interfere with walking around the shops. It has a lot of parking spaces, and there is a separate zone near the centre. The centre has 3 large floors I-1 floor down. Many shops, some are expensive, others cheaper, for everyone there is something in their budget. There is also a supermarket, cafes, pastry shops, toilets and a small Ikea. It is clean and spacious there. The 1st line of escalators on the last level up does not work. Unfortunately, you have to walk up them, and it is very annoying when you have a lot of shopping. Overall, I am very impressed with this center. It is nicely green, bright, and clean.
Muminek260 S — Google review
This is a great place to go when visiting Split it has lots of different shops and food places and a large amount of free parking and outside there is a frequent bus service and we got one to the centre near the old town which we paid €2 each one way in August 2025
Annabel B — Google review
A fantastic shopping center not far from the city center. A large number of shops with a rich offer of clothing, cosmetics, equipment and other goods. Within the shopping center is a large Spar supermarket where you can buy everything from food, drinks, hygiene and other necessities for the home. There is a butcher shop and a fish shop. The restaurant section has a great selection of fast food. There are also some very nice cafes to take a break. The garage is large and has sufficient capacity. After shopping, you can go to the Cineplexx cinema. There iz a gaming space for kids. In the garage there is also a go-kart track where you can really have fun.
Zoran J — Google review
Large shopping mall located on the end of the Split which is the only down side off it that I have.It has a lot of food courts (KFC,Mcdonalds,Chinese food, local grocery shop called INTERSPAR),sneaker shops, clothing shops, sport shops and so on.There is an enormous outside garage which is free. The mall has 3 floors not including -1 (which is the garage) and you can walk easily because there aren't many people. It has a lot of escalators and even elevators.Recommended!

Shopping mall
Shopping
Mall of Split is the largest shopping center in Dalmatia, offering a diverse range of international and local brands across four floors. It's a haven for fashion enthusiasts, catering to various budgets with options like Pepe Jeans, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Mango and Tom Tailor. The mall also houses a cinema and numerous dining spots on each floor.
A well lit and clean mall with a good selection of stores. It has three stories and it's easy to navigate. The food hall is on the third floor with McDonald's and burger king and some others like Asian food and kebab. On the second floor there is a Sara store for example and a game arena. On the ground floor there is a kids play ground and it has one bigger convenient store where you can get everything a family could need. If you use Bolt or Uber have them pick you up at the main entrance to the mall.
Berglind B — Google review
A somewhat sizeable shopping mall with a bunch of stores. Local and international brands share the three floors. There’s also a food court, a cinema and some play areas for kids. Overall a pretty good variety. There’s also a shuttle service to and from downtown Split, which is a great thing. All that said, it didn’t stand out in any way. The space is bright and well designed overall, if a bit bland. Nothing sticks out. Still, something to visit when the weather gets too hot or too cold.
Robert I — Google review
Bigger shopping mall with a great offer of shops and a food section. Also, a multiplex cinema on the top floor and a two-story parking garage. Nice place to lose a few hours in case the weather doesn't allow you to enjoy the sea.
Fotke T — Google review
Nice Mall. Best for that indoor shopping when it is raining outside for a couple of hours. There is a big food court on the top floor with a Mcdonalds and some other local food options.
Madhur B — Google review
The mall itself is spacious and visually appealing, offering a wide range of stores and eateries. Parking is free, which is a big plus. A thoughtful highlight is the designated area for parents with babies—it’s a comfortable spot to relax, have a snack or drink while your little one plays safely. However, a few things could be improved. The music throughout the mall was quite loud and became a bit tiring over time. Also, the toilets could use a refresh. Although they are cleaned regularly, there was a noticeable sewage smell, and the toilet seats looked yellowed rather than clean white. All in all, a convenient place for shopping with great potential, but a few details could make the experience even better.
R Z — Google review
Huge mall, so many shops from high end to casual daily wear. Much better than the Joker Mall, which is about 15 mins away. There is 4 floors with allot of cafes and food spots. You can easily lose a couple hours here. Loved it!
Jenna T — Google review
Best shopping centre in Split. Lots of stores and a really good food court. It is really clean and has 4 parking stories in total and. The only issue is that it does not work on Sundays sometimes, but it is the law and not their fault so you cannot blame them. To summarize, I definitely recommend Mall Of Split to everyone.
Luka Ž — Google review
The Mall of Split is an absolute gem! The variety of shops is incredible – there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for high-end fashion, popular international brands, or unique local stores. The parking situation is fantastic, with plenty of space, so you never have to worry about finding a spot. The food court is equally impressive, offering a wide range of delicious options to suit all tastes. And don’t miss the cinema – it’s extremely impressive, with state-of-the-art facilities and a truly immersive experience. The Mall of Split is the perfect destination for a full day of shopping, dining, and entertainment!

Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy the gym on the top floor. The mall provides plenty of parking and free Wi-Fi, making it a great place to shop, dine, and relax.
Michael S — Google review
Nice mall but crowded and difficult to get parking. Most locals love to hang out here I’m told. Food court has a wide range. The restaurants are good too. It’s like any other mall and nothing exceptional
Sang E — Google review
We were looking for a shopping mall open on Sunday around Split, and Joker was the only one we found! It felt like the whole city was there. Nice atmosphere, plenty of shops, and a good place to spend some time.
Kätlin V — Google review
Upmarket for Split. Had a good number of retail outlets across the 5 floors. Good creche at the top for parents and kids to hang out in. Each floor has a dedicated waitress/waiter ready to get you a coffee/cold drink or bite to eat when you sit at one of the tables around the Central atrium area in the middle. (A nice personalised touch, but a little annoying if you are just wanting to rest your feet if you're partner is shopping 🛍 😉 and you don't want to purchase any food or drink). Wifi is good in there and at a temperate climate. Tommy supermarket on the ground floor which is excellent.
Simon C — Google review
Not a bad mall. Has a little bit of everything you need.
George C — Google review
Great shopping mall, only one in split that opens on sunday till 9pm. Mc donalds, dm store, elizabetta franchi and so many designer brands plus there is New Yorker inside for extremely cheap clothes if u forget stuff from home. Highly recommended
Liliana B — Google review
This is definitely the best and coziest mall center to spend some time , especially during the winter if it’s raining and windy outside. The location is 10 minutes walk distance from city center and it’s located in a nice neighborhood area. Inside there are a lot of stores and good restaurants on the top floor. Definitely my favorite place to go for!!

Ancient Ruins
Diocletian's Palace, located in Split, Croatia, was built for the Roman emperor Diocletian in the 4th century AD. Although referred to as a palace, it is more like a massive fortress with half of it serving as Diocletian's residence and the rest housing a military garrison. Today, this ancient site is part of Split's historic core and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is a must see on split. Drink up the atmosphere and engineering that has made this place last for so long. Great views from the Bell tower of the whole old town and across the bay. Very well priced and signage in English as well as other languages. Can be busy when cruise ships are in but this is just the part of the hustle and bustle of life now in the city of Split.
Lee E — Google review
This was the most beautiful experience! For history nerds, to influencers, to everyday tourists I'd highly recommend the palace. We absolutely loved it! Take advantage of the package deals to see all the sites like the bell tower, crypt and more. Otherwise, incredible food is found inside and outside the walls
Laura W — Google review
If you love old architecture this is for you.The down side is it gets very busy. There are parts that you pay to go in but only if you want. Guided tours are available. Partial wheel chair access. Accessible parking is near by. Market stalls and restaurants also plentiful.
Kevin S — Google review
It looks like Venice palaces! But less sunken, less scammy, much less formal rules, tourists are nicer, less crowded. And we don't get to see his rooms, Chambers, but get to see temples repurposed by Christians. It's the core attraction of Split and it makes Split a better place than Dubrovnik which is super scammy.
Michael T — Google review
Beautiful spot in old town of Split. You can spend a few hours walking around, many shops and good restaurants. Use the King's gate and touch on the toe of the statue of the King for good luck.
Vipasiri N — Google review
This isn’t just a palace - it’s the literal foundation of Split. Built by Emperor Diocletian in 305 AD as his retirement home, the entire Old Town grew within its walls. Marble columns, sphinxes from Egypt, narrow alleys that open into courtyards full of cafés and live music. Visit during the evening when local musicians play in Peristyle Square - you’ll feel the centuries merge.
Neel B — Google review
•Living icon of Roman heritage in Split, Croatia - lovet! •Commissioned by Emperor Diocletian around 295 CE •A graceful blend of luxury villa and defensive fortress •From imperial retreat to medieval town to UNESCO site •Peristyle, mausoleum/cathedral, baths, and temples •Adaptive reuse: homes, shops, and churches within ancient walls •Visuals: limestone architecture, bell tower, and grand courtyards •Walkable streets: a seamless past and present Must-see: Peristyle, Diocletian’s •Mausoleum, Basements, Golden/Silver Gates
Kathrina L — Google review
Easily manageable ancient town , although best to avoid times when cruise ships are in as the area gets congested quickly. The combined entry ticket is well worth it, although the Bell Tower climb is not fir the claustrophobic. The Palace (really an old town within a town) is definitely a must-do in Split.

Fantastic hotel right in the Riva old town. We had room no 5 with loads of charter and a balcony. Great check in and service. Room full of character but with all mod cons.

Had a great stay at this hotel! Rooms were super clean and the properly was stunning. Wish we could have stayed longer. I think the price point for our visit was quite high given we were visiting in off season so it’s just to note that this hotel was pricey.

Located just a short stroll from Diocletian's Palace, the Jaman Art Center is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. The gallery showcases the vibrant and surreal pop-art paintings of Split-based artist Danijel Jaman. His works are known for their explosive use of color and can be purchased at the gallery's online shop. Visitors can expect to find a diverse collection that includes paintings, prints, sculptures, and even cell phone cases.
We had an amazing experience at Jaman Art. We'd gone especially to see the art and found it even better than expected. We loved the style and especially the kinds of messages he is creating and sharing with the world. We ended up buying a lot of his art and being really pleased with it. We already have the butterflies 🦋 up at home and are waiting for the canvas to be ready to hang! Jaman is making a fabulous statement with his art, I'd recommend supporting his work.

Wonderful experience. It's a shop of an artist that sells pop art, surreal art and graffiti art paintings. We only came to visit and see the paintings but if you can't to buy the range is between 5000€~15000€ for originals and 500€~5000€ for modified copies. He art was super realistic and the surreal paintings were very beautiful. All of the paintings had a very deep meaning, mostly about society. They also sell phone cases for Iphone and Samsung

I loved this small pop art center, the artwork is intriguing, has a funny or sarcastic side and it is hard to leave without buying something. Beside the original pictures, they have some nice posters and different objects with prints from the originals. It is really worth to visit it, Jaman is a local talented artist.

Lidl is known for its high-quality bakery goods and groceries, offering excellent products at reasonable prices. While some customers feel that the quality of food and bakery items has slightly declined over time, many still appreciate the value Lidl provides. The supermarket is often crowded, with limited space for packing purchased items after checkout. Despite this, it offers a friendly and professional shopping experience, as evidenced by a customer's positive encounter with an employee who returned a lost wallet.
An very large Lidl that has a lot of produce and various options to choose from. Produce is fresh and my top pick when it comes to shopping. It has a free parking lot and garage up to 90 minutes.

Great grocery store for every day needs. Lots of different nationalities present… as the saying goes: divided by language, United by Lidl😃 And of course, the most important thing 90 min free parking
Octav V — Google review
Nice, warm food from the bakery section. The only complaint I have is the service where I stood waiting almost 5 minutes at the self service register waiting for help, but otherwise its a standard shop.
Orz — Google review
Still great store as ever, great produce, meats, fish, amazing selection of frozen goods, wonderfull bakery, wide selection of beers and wines and all household products. Plentiful parking, nice clean stores and friendly helpfull staff.
Serafin S — Google review
Downgrading my previous rating since nowadays this store is becoming more and more untidy. Floors are often dirty, frozen food is covered with frost, etc - basically, there is a general feeling of mess and neglect. Yes, there are more customers during the season, but it only means more staff should be hired. Not going there again until Autumn, then maybe I'll reconsider... Update: It's mid September already, so I went to this shop again. Nothing has changed. Now even shopping baskets are dirty and neglected - it's hard to find one that has working rollers. Did not receive any comment from Lidl since my previous comment, so downgrading to two stars. Second update: Finally got a reaction from Lidl. I hope they follow through on their promises. I will give this store another try around Christmas. As it is in the convenient location for me, I would rather see them improve, than give this store up completely.

Very big Lidl with big parking free for first 90 minutes. Some very good Croatian wines for much better prices than elsewhere. Convenient supermarket with attractive prices, before boarding the Split ferry with your car, 3 km down the same main road.

Good prices, shopping done quickly. Love their bakery window. Enough free parking in the basement. Good weekly sales. Recently prices increased even more than in other grocery stores, which doesn't make Lidl first go to store, which is unfortunate. Very busy between 10-11am.

A broad promenade lined with nice restaurants. On the seaward side you have several rows of palm trees and along the eastern section, many tour boat booths selling tickets for trips to the islands and swimming/snorkelling. On the north side of the promenade a variety of small shops.

It is a great place for a stroll specially in the evening when it is lively and full of life. One can just sit here and spend hours by people watch. There are paid public toilets and also Tourist Information Office. There are a lot of restaurants and bars to select from with very good outdoor ambience. Worth visiting.

Absolutely loved the Riva in Split! The promenade is stunning — palm trees, sea breeze, and amazing views of the harbour and old town. Perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening walk at sunset. It’s always lively with locals and tourists, but never feels chaotic. Some cafés are a bit pricey, but the atmosphere totally makes up for it. Bonus: Along the Riva, there are plenty of places where you can easily arrange boat trips to the nearby islands — perfect for a day of adventure on the Adriatic! 🌴☕️🌊🚤

Located within Salona Mall, Konzum is a large supermarket offering a wide range of daily goods. In addition to this, the mall also houses around 20 smaller shops including popular brands like Intersport and Decathlon, as well as shoe stores, clothing boutiques, jewelry outlets, and cozy cafes. Whether you're in need of ingredients for a light breakfast or snacks for on-the-go, Konzum has you covered with its convenient selection.
Fruits and vegtables were not fresh and a very small variety. No eggs if you come in the evening or afternoon. Also, I could literally hear the cashier and the person behind me in line laughing at us as we were 'tourists' god forbid 🤨 oh and the cashier also tried to give me less change than I should have gotten.
Roey — Google review
"Please everyone, check your receipt. I visited Konzum today and the short hair woman cashier was rude. She was always rude, but today when I came home and checked my receipt, I was overcharged by the cashier. I was charged twice for an item. I didn't notice until today. Today, I saw reviews from people and I was shocked. This is not the first time they have done this to people. I will never go to Konzum again in my life. Konzum, you need to do better."

Be careful, potential SCAM. This review is for the management, if they want avoid future problems like this. Today (4th of June) at 13:30 I was paying my shopping and I noticed a strange movement of the lady at the cashier. Like she was scanning something under the cashier. I thought she might charge me for the small transparent bag for fruits, but when I payed and checked the bill, I saw that she scanned her Mikado snack... when I asked what happened, she just said "I don't know". And gave me money back. Be careful...

BE CAREFUL, STAFF CHEATS WITH YOUR MONEY AND CHANGE!! Spent 5 days in Split as a tourist from 12-16 may 2025 and visited this store a few times. TWICE I paid by cash and the cashier lady cheated with my change.. and she doesn't give you a ticket as well.. When I asked where is the rest of my money she started ignoring me and all the other staff did the same. That was the first day, the next day we came again and she did the SAME THING!! I'm shocked... just shameless...

Bobis-Riva is a popular cafe located at the promenade in Riva. The cafe serves coffee, drinks and snacks, but pastries are the main focus of the restaurant. The service was slow at times but ok.
Great snacks sweet and savoury, extremely fresh for a very reasonable price and very good coffees. Always busy, expect to have to wait a little, however the staff is friendly and competent. I’ve been there several times and look forward to further visits.
Elisabeth C — Google review
We searched Split high and low for somewhere serving coffee and cake. Bobis on the Riva was about the only place we found. Yummy pastries and the coffee is OK ( latter to milky though). The were only 2 waiters and huge number of customers so they were under the pump but still friendly. You can also enjoy drinks and there is no pressure to move on
L M — Google review
I’ve been a loyal customer at this bakery for a while and have always had great experiences—attentive staff, fast service, and a welcoming atmosphere. However, my last two visits have been disappointing due to the attitude of one particular waiter (an older gentleman, around 45-55 years old). From the moment we arrived, his demeanor was unwelcoming. Instead of a simple greeting, we were met with a curt “What do you want?” in an uninviting tone. When we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu, he seemed visibly annoyed and returned almost immediately, standing silently and staring at us until we made a decision. A simple request for a glass of water was met with an exaggerated eye roll, which was both unnecessary and unprofessional. The payment process was another issue. While I’ve always been able to pay by card without a problem, this waiter insisted I go inside to do so. Normally, I wouldn’t mind, but given his attitude throughout the experience, it felt more like an inconvenience than a standard policy. What made it worse was that he insisted on charging us immediately—despite the fact that the bakery was still three hours from closing—interrupting our conversation in the process. It wasn’t just us—his rude attitude was consistent across multiple tables. The poor service was entirely due to his unprofessional behavior. If this is how he handles his job now, I can’t imagine how much worse it will be once the busy season starts. I truly hope this is addressed before it impacts the reputation of an otherwise great establishment.

We came here 3 days in a row. On the first day everything was fantastic! The pain au chocolat was delicious, the expresso as well and service too. On the second day they mixed my order but was rush hour in the morning so was okay. But on the 3rd and last day, I was very disappointed. I ordered again my favorite (the pain au chocolat) and cleary is from yesterday. Very dry and hard to bite. Was 9h15 in the morning, they could at least say they are still in the oven and I would wait. Very sad that I'm leaving with a bad impression when was my fav.

Dian P — Google review
Awful service, there were no waiters to serve or greet us so I naturally went to the bar to order. The lady behind asked if I was eating in and told me to go and sit down. She didn't bother to ask anyone to serve me. Waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged and decided to leave.
Andrew M — Google review
We had an aperitif there and they wouldn't let us pay separately. Then, after quickly showing us the receipt (not the whole thing, but three separate ones because "they forgot to add drinks"), they threw the receipt away and we weren't allowed to see it again. Plus, the drinks weren't anything special and furthermore the prices on the paper and online menus were also different, causing difficulties for customers who don't know how much they actually owe. Terrible service. Don't go there.
Matilde P — Google review
Don't get fooled about the "cheaper" prices. The quality is lower and the personell is so rude I cannot even describe it. Especially the women at the bar, not the guy at the tables. That was such a horrible experience, stay away!!!! And the toilet is putrid.

Moreover, the shop allows customers to sample their lavender and olive oil candies before purchasing, resulting in my decision to buy a bar of each. Located in the Old City, this is undoubtedly the finest chocolate shop around.

Delicious, high-quality chocolate made with locally-sourced lavender, olive oil, and carob. You can tell this chocolate is a labor of love. We liked it so much that we raced through the old town on our way to the airport to grab extra chocolate to bring home with us to the United States.

Delicious chocolate with many options, from small bars to pralines. The pink pepper and dried fig bars are highly recommended, as are the coffee, coconut, and salted caramel pralines. The lady was very kind; despite the closing time, she still gave us all the attention we needed and explained any allergens that might be present in the product.

I enjoyed everything from high quality products to the lovely shopkeeper who was kind enough to help me explore all the options. I ended up trying a few different chocolate bars, and I have to admit that they brought me a new meaning of 'chocolate'. The taste simply cannot be described in words, so I strongly advise everyone to try. For foreigners, I highly recommend the Dalmatian passion, and for locals Oriental passion (two of personal favourites). I would also like to add that this brand has verified ethical background all the way from the cocoa fields to our bellies.

From the USA to Croatia: Nadalina Chocolate - An Unforgettable Taste of Genius! As visitors from the USA, we've had our fair share of chocolate experiences, but nothing, and I mean nothing, prepared us for the sheer astonishment and delight that awaited us at Nadalina Chocolate Factory in Split, Croatia. This wasn't just a chocolate shop; it was a revelation! From the moment we stepped in, the aroma alone was captivating – a rich, complex symphony of cocoa that promised something truly special. But it was the products themselves that truly blew us away. The dedication to quality, the unique Dalmatian infusions like lavender and dried fig (which, let me tell you, are surprisingly exquisite!), showed a level of artistry we rarely encounter. Each bite was a journey of flavor, far beyond your average chocolate bar. The "bean-to-bar" philosophy isn't just a marketing slogan here; you can genuinely taste the passion and meticulous craftsmanship in every single piece. And then there was it. The legendary chocolate record that actually plays music! As music lovers, we were utterly gobsmacked. We'd heard whispers, seen photos online, but to actually witness this edible marvel spinning on a turntable, emitting surprisingly clear sound before being, well, eaten – it was an absolutely surreal and hilarious experience. It's not just a novelty; it's a testament to the incredible ingenuity and playful spirit of Marinko Biškić, the mastermind behind Nadalina. He's clearly a genius who blends his love for chocolate with an undeniable artistic flair. It's something you simply have to see (and hear, and taste!) to believe. Beyond the extraordinary products, the personal touch at Nadalina is what truly sets it apart. Meeting the passionate team, hearing about the journey from cocoa bean to award-winning bar – it makes you appreciate every square. This isn't mass-produced candy; it's chocolate with a soul, born from creativity and a deep respect for the craft. Our trip to Split was incredible for many reasons, but our visit to Nadalina will forever stand out. It's more than a souvenir; it's a memory, a story we'll be telling our friends back home for years to come. If you're coming from the USA or anywhere else in the world, make sure Nadalina is at the very top of your Split itinerary. Prepare to be astonished, delighted, and utterly charmed by this extraordinary Croatian gem. You'll leave with your bags full of deliciousness and your mind buzzing with the magic of that musical chocolate!

The shopkeeper was so friendly as I walked through the door and helpful. I told her I was looking for a gift for my hostess and she gave me a bunch of options - ultimately I settled on a mixbox of candies. The shopkeep even let me taste test the lavender candy and the olive oil candy and I ended up buying a bar of each for myself. The best chocolate shop in the Old City for sure. I recommend a stop any time of the year but there is something about the smell of chocolate and Christmas time that made this place extra magical.

Sperone Heritage Hotel is conveniently located near Diocletians Palace and Prokurative square in the Spinut neighborhood of Split. The hotel offers a Continental breakfast, a terrace, and a spa center. While it may be challenging to access with luggage due to its location up an alleyway, the tranquility and proximity to restaurants make it worthwhile. Guests have praised the extremely nice and accommodating staff, beautiful and clean rooms, as well as its close proximity to various activities and dining options.
My wife and I spent three nights in Split and stayed at this beautifully appointed hotel. It was located perfectly near the city center, but far enough away for some quiet relaxing time. We made great use of the pool and the patio area. Everything is meticulously maintained. Breakfast was very good, and there were several coffee options. Just as important, we found all of the staff to be exceptional. Their friendly faces and attention to detail during our stay made the experience even better than we imagined. They assisted us with dinner recommendations, and all of them were as good or better than the last! We highly recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay again when we return!
DB Y — Google review
If you are considering this hotel, please read this review first. The overall rating and pictures can be misleading, as our experience did not reflect what you would expect from a four-star/luxury property. Good: The location is its strongest point. It is tucked away in a quiet area just outside the crowded palace streets, so you can enjoy peaceful evenings yet still walk everywhere easily. The breakfast is okay as well. Bad: What really affected our experience, however, was the SERVICE. The front-desk were polite but not genuinely welcoming or helpful. A few incidents that happened: On our first night, we asked for recommendations for the following day since the weather forecast predicted heavy rain. The receptionist responded, “I don’t know, I don’t go out. I stay home or visit friends.” Even if that were true, someone working in hospitality should still be able to offer guests a few local suggestions. That kind of answer was surprising and disappointing for a hotel that presents itself as four stars and charges over $200/night. The next day, when it started pouring, we asked to borrow umbrellas. There were four behind the desk, but we were told they were reserved for a wedding and that other guests had already asked for them. The staff suggested a few places nearby where we might buy one, but those shops were either closed (it was a Sunday) or didn’t sell umbrellas at all. Again, not the level of care or problem-solving you’d expect from a hotel of this kind. We also had an issue with a clogged sink in our room. When I explained the problem, the front desk staff member turned on the water and gave me a look that suggested there was nothing wrong. Within seconds, the sink backed up exactly as I described, but the interaction was awkward enough that I found myself saying, “I’m not lying.” That moment alone said a lot about the overall careless attitude and lack of professionalism. The room itself was VERY basic/simple and not particularly comfortable. The mattress was clearly old and low quality, and you could easily feel the springs. There was also very limited space for hanging or storing clothes. Looking back, I wish we had noticed the reviews mentioning similar issues before booking. While the location and breakfast are fine, the lack of warmth, attentiveness, and comfort makes it difficult to recommend this hotel. Unfortunately, we do NOT recommend it.

Loved this hotel! The staff were amazing. Rooms were great. The AC went down to 18° so it was a little warm but not too bad. Pool was nice and warm. Great breakfast. It was in town but not in the tourist spots. Restaurant across the street. The staff even walked us to the taxi when we were leaving. Highly recommend it and when we come back, we're definitely coming back here

We had a wonderful stay at the Sperone. Well maintained property, very clean, breakfast every morning was solid and balanced. The location was PERFECT for all the sites but just out of the fray for it to be quiet at night. The pool is the perfect size for amount of guests staying there. Any critiques we have are personal preferences but depending on what you want to do on your vacation could be helpful information! We wished breakfast was available a little later for days we wanted to sleep in. It was hard to sleep in past 8 AM as we could hear breakfast go on downstairs. Same goes for maid service, we often were trying to rush out the door in the morning to ensure our room got cleaned. Lastly, rooms are small however they did a phenomenal job with planning the space they have. You can tell there was a lot of thoughtful planning with storage space, the curtains to pull around the glass showers to maintain some semblance of privacy and contain steam in the room. I can’t imagine many other hotel rooms in Split are much bigger anyway! We will recommend this property to friends and family for sure.
Annie M — Google review
Completely overpriced for what it is. Yes, the location is good, but: no coffee or fruit at breakfast one morning and a sullen receptionist telling us ‘well, I called my manager’; 2 single covers on all the double beds; room with a toilet in one corner and a shower in the other. Far, far from the ‘luxury’ they claim and the £200 a night price tag in June. Don’t make the same mistake - lots of better places for half the price (and much, much better ones for the same or a little bit more).
Paul D — Google review
Stayed for 4 nights in June 2025. Hotel and staff were fantastic. Front desk staff, in particular Ana and Lara, were friendly and helpful. We used the hotel option for airport transfer and worked great – Lara met us on the street to guide us to the hotel. Room was small-ish but clean, comfortable and functional. Noise from the hallway carries, but it’s minimal and we had no other problems with noise. Property was clean and the small pool was a nice amenity to have for a hotel so close to the city centre. Breakfast had several options and despite running out of a few things along the way, was good. On a side note, we did get a little ill while in Split, and Ana was fantastic in doing her best to make us comfortable – recommending a local pharmacy and what to buy, as well as giving us her contact information in case we needed anything urgently – felt like we’d known her for years! Thank you Ana. Anyone considering here, we give a full recommendation and location can’t be beat.

Overall we loved Split and the location was amazing for a three day stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and tucked away but very close to restaurant, beaches, cafes etc. The team at the hotel were incredible, very helpful, kind and professional but sadly this is where it stopped. Upon arrival we were upgraded to our delight to the Penthouse. A great room with an incredible terrace that you could sunbathe all afternoon on. However everything is dated and not thought through especially for the price per night. The shower was rubbish, full of limescale and worst of all only enough hot water for about a five minute shower, one of us had to either wait a couple of hours or have a cold shower. For a coffee in the morning, you’ve got a crap budget kettle and two bags of Nescafé instant coffee. The room itself was dirty, layers of dust on selves and a basic curtain to conceal the bathroom, no hooks to hang damp towels, it all felt very un boutique and rather cheap. On the occasion that you do want to use the roof terrace, there are no staff to be found, so much for “please call and we can bring you drinks” ( oh yes you have to call them from your phone as there isn’t a room phone) Overall pretty disappointing, wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a short romantic break.

I don’t know how people left this place a bad review it was a fantastic stay with the place only having a few rooms there’s no problem with issues by the pool as it is very quiet and rarely another room around. Rooms are clean and comfy and well equipped definitely would recommend staying here we had the room at the top and yes there are lots of steps but this isn’t a problem maybe if you had mobility issues it would be but we were happy to be out the way and really enjoyed staying here. Location we found was perfect and not too far out the way literally 5/7 minute walk into the town we would definitely stay here again

(Translated by Google) We booked this hotel because of its great location close to town and the nice rooms, but our stay quickly turned into a nightmare. First of all, it was almost impossible to get hot water during our stay. Constantly having to wait for hot water was incredibly frustrating and took up a lot of our time. But this was just the beginning of our problems. Before booking our flights, we spoke to a very nice guy who assured us that we could check in earlier, as the previous guests would check out earlier. Based on this information, we booked an earlier flight to Split and paid extra for the early tickets. When we arrived, we called the hotel to ask if the room was ready, but the woman at the reception coldly told us that check-in was not until 3pm. She also mentioned that the previous guests had stayed longer and that the cleaning staff would be arriving later. No one had bothered to inform us in advance or offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. We asked to leave our bags, but the woman was completely uncooperative and we were forced to find a temporary solution ourselves. This resulted in us missing an activity we had booked in the afternoon. In addition, the rooms were in a deplorable condition. The walls were dirty and in the corners of both the bathrooms and the rooms there were dead insects and lots of dirt. It was simply disgusting and far from what we expected from a hotel in this price range. In summary, we were extremely dissatisfied with this hotel. Poor service, lack of hot water, dirty rooms and no compensation for the inconvenient location. What started as a promising stay quickly turned into a huge disappointment. We will never visit this hotel again and cannot recommend it to anyone.
