Luka Ice Cream & Cakes is a classic shop that offers artisanal ice cream and made-to-order cakes through window and counter service. The locals flock to this pastry and ice-cream shop, indulging in homemade gelato with unique local flavors like lavender or rosemary. Luka's ice creams range from sour cherry to apple pie, chili chocolate to fig, and even yogurt with rosemary.
Split cake was something unusual! The texture and taste contrasts of dry figs and almonds with the rest of the ingredients was brilliant! The cappuccino was excellent, although I think it needs a little more dosage of coffee! The outside seating area is small and nice. There is also a small inside seating area. They have ice cream too that looks good, but I haven’t tried it. Highly recommended!

WARNING: My croissant had hair on it and the waiter just returned it to the platter to sell once again after I told him! Longer explanation: Went there before I saw all the recent reviews of ownership change and that it's not the same quality as before. We sat down, tried the pistachio paris brest - it was dry and the cream inside only has a hint of pistachios. Croissant on the other hand, had tiny hairs barely visible to the eye, but the sun made me catch one and on closer inspection there was more (I counted 4). I pulled the biggest one out on the dark napkin (so I can show it to the waiter and kindly let him know) he acted surprised, didn't even look at it tbh and sourly apologized, offered another for exchange and put the one I brought in back on the platter...he acted as if I made it up and didn't care at all. Good thing I took a picture because I felt a bit gaslighted by his reactions, even though I doubled down and said "it happens" because I wasn't there to be dramatic, but to let him know. I'm sad I didn't tear the croissant apart so he couldn't sell it, absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable!!
Ana T — Google review
The cheesecake ice cream was nice, yogurt ice cream tastes like medicine. Chocolate cake was nice but the pistachio cake tasted a bit odd. There’s lots of mosquitoes inside the shop.
Xiao C — Google review
Ice cream was good but not my favorite. Got the bueno white. Also tried the lemon/mint (dairy free) and that one was okay unless you like super tart. Would come back for another flavor.
Esther S — Google review
Delicious cookie. Crunchy on the outside, gooey(doughy) on the inside with lots of chocolate and nut pieces... So yummy!
Hans G — Google review
Best tiramisu (amaretto) of my life! So good… not too sweet, just right.
Serina K — Google review
The ice cream is homemade, but only a few flavors truly stand out, like the cheesecake and the white chocolate-raspberry. The whipped cream isn’t made in-house, which is disappointing for a place specializing in ice cream and pastries. Despite ordering ten ice creams, we were refused tap water unless we bought a bottle, even though the tap worked. Only after sitting down and ordering pastries were we given two glasses of water. There was also a sign saying the restrooms were “out of order,” though they worked perfectly…why not just remove it then? A mixed experience, and far from the best of our trip.
Mathis B — Google review
It took us awhile to look for the name Luka till my friend asked their server that the name has changed under new ownership. It was limited in choices. Raspberry & tiramisu were the safer choices cos they do not allow sampling! It wasn’t tops on my list but it was what we wanted to try!

Bokeria Kitchen & Wine is a stylish restaurant and bar in Split, named after Barcelona's La Boqueria market. It combines the concept of a high-end restaurant and a wine bar, attracting international celebrities. The interior design is spectacular, making it one of the city's most recognizable locations. Bokeria offers pan-Mediterranean cuisine and an extensive wine list, perfect for wine lovers.
Best octopus I've had having been around Croatia 4 times now. The tenderness and juiciness of the meats is outstanding, and the garnishes and side dishes are just as good. The risotto is also absolutely incredible. The starters are very good, although not as mind blowing as the main courses. The fish tacos are the standout in my opinion. It's a very popular place, especially in the evenings, so make sure to book a table a very long time in advance. They do try to accommodate walk ins though. The music is a bit loud, again, especially in the evenings, which together with the crowd noise makes it a little difficult to hold conversation.
Alejandro G — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience here and definitely will not return. For starters, we ordered the soup and the codfish spring roll. The spring roll was the only decent thing we had crispy, flavorful, and well done. Unfortunately, the soup was a complete letdown. It was bland and absolutely no richness or depth you’d expect from a restaurant charging these prices. For mains, I had the squid ink risotto and my husband had the Angus beef. After our starters, we were left waiting almost 20 minutes for the mains. The risotto was dull, lacking any balance or seasoning, and had an unpleasant aftertaste. The Angus beef was chewy and poorly cooked, paired with mashed potatoes that were supposed to be elevated with truffle oil. As a country that actually produces truffles, this version was shockingly below standard flat, oily, and with none of the fragrant quality you’d expect. Service made the experience even worse. We were given a completely different menu from another table, which left us questioning whether there was some form of bias or discrimination happening. And when we asked for the bill, a female server simply pointed her finger at my original (male) server, refusing to assist and continuing her personal chat instead. Completely unprofessional, dismissive, and unacceptable for a place that positions itself as “above average.” Overall: long waiting times, overpriced dishes, inconsistent menus, poor service, and food that is far below the mark in flavor and execution. One good spring roll can’t save an otherwise awful dining experience.
Dee B — Google review
Bokeria in Split is a beautiful restaurant with a stylish and inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel like you’re in a special place. The presentation of the dishes is excellent — everything looks amazing and carefully prepared. However, while some plates taste just as good as they look, others don’t quite deliver the same “wow” factor once you try them. Prices are on the higher side compared to other spots in Split, so it’s definitely more of a treat-yourself place. Overall, Bokeria is worth visiting for the ambiance and experience, but not every dish lives up to its presentation.
Remus M — Google review
Truwel and prosciutto pasta was delicious, Caesar salad needed more sauce. Soup was ok, byt nothing special; soparnik is really good here, recommend it. Amazing wine (local chardonney). Service is very good and attentive.
Aveli A — Google review
Sat upstairs by a window. This place was really good. Everything was executed perfectly. The sea bass with the cauliflower puree was a great combo. Dont skip soparnik either for the appetizer!! Would 1000% return. Great location in the old center of Split
Michelle P — Google review
Had a great sea bass meal here this evening - very reasonably priced. Wait staff was incredibly friendly and a great vibe atmosphere. Without doubt, if you are into Croatian wine, this is THE PLACE in Split to visit. They have over 160 Croatian wines to choose from, ~30 of which you can buy by the glass. I had a Grk, Pošip sur lie, and a dessert wine all from Croatia - the first two with my sea bass. All were excellent!
Michael H — Google review
If I could give Bokeria six stars, I would. This place doesn’t just serve food - it performs it. Set inside a refurbished 19th-century hardware store, the ambience hits the sweet spot between Mediterranean elegance and modern soul: high ceilings, warm wood, slow jazz, and the low hum of a packed dining room that feels alive with conversation and clinking glasses. Now, the black risotto - the best I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. It’s made from cuttlefish ink, rich enough to stain your soul, creamy from the slow-simmered arborio rice, yet with that perfect bite that tells you someone in the kitchen respects texture. The cuttlefish itself - tender but with structure, brined in its own ink, releasing that deep, oceanic sweetness that hits you like a memory you didn’t know you had. Each forkful lands with the intensity of truffle and sea salt and ends with a whisper of citrus. Pair it with a Medica, Croatia’s honey rakija - it’s smooth, golden, and just sweet enough to round the salt of the sea from the risotto. Follow that with the mint rakija, which feels like brushing your teeth with liquid sunlight - crisp, cool, and sharp enough to make you grin. Bokeria isn’t just a restaurant. It’s where the spirit of Split sits down to eat with you. Unreal food, unreal people, and a level of culinary rhythm that’ll have you planning your next meal before you’ve finished the first bite.

This restaurant charmed us completely! The historic setting with its gorgeous interior made dinner feel special. Food was delicious - modern takes on Dalmatian classics with perfect execution. Their wine list impressed us with excellent local options we wouldn't find elsewhere.

Villa Spiza is a charming and unpretentious restaurant located in the old town of Split. The place exudes an authentic and cozy atmosphere, with a dog lounging on the doorstep and a kitchen filled with the enticing aroma of garlic. The menu at Villa Spiza changes daily based on the fresh ingredients sourced from local markets, fishermen, and butchers.
This is a very small family operated restaurant on the north side of the palace just on the south side of the wall. There are only about 8 or 9 tables so recommend you come early as they are popular and they don’t take reservations. Menu changes every day and they actively cross out items on the hand written menu as they run out of ingredients. Excellent fresh food they make right when you order. Very reasonable prices for the area and friendly and efficient staff.

Fantastic food, vibes and service. This is an excellent restaurant if you are a solo traveler because there is individual counter seating on the kitchen side of the restaurant (“split” into two buildings on two sides of the street) where you can watch the chef at work. Dinner and a show! Staff were friendly and genuinely seemed to be having fun. Great experience and delicious food. I had the squid and a cheese plate. Tiramisu looked amazing.
Rebecca B — Google review
The place smelled amazing from the street and turns out it was coming from the place we had read about on several pages. My boyfriend got the veal liver and I got the hake with polenta. Both mains were tender and delicious and worth the wait. The place was busy. It has two locations across the street from another. The mood of the kitchen staff was jovial and relaxing. We really enjoyed our meal. We would happily come back here again.
Allison W — Google review
Small, family run business with an amazing atmosphere and one of a kind vibe. Unfortunately, our own experience with the food was negative. My wife ordered the beef stew, and I the anchovies pasta. The beef stew was nothing but bones, fat and cartilage, so my wife couldn't eat it. The pasta was also not to our liking. The guys offered us kindly the drinks on the house, but i refused and paid the whole bill. We ended up eating somewhere else.
Fareed N — Google review
If you are looking for a small family-run restaurant with local dishes made with simple and fresh ingredients, then Villa Spiza is the place for you. It's quite a small restaurant, so it gets crowded very quickly however, we went there around 5pm and it was super quiet so we didn't have to wait. I ordered the Dalmatian Prosciutto, wich was served with bread, olives, salad, and the most amazing sun dried tomatoes I ever had in my life. The prosciutto was so tasty, I thoroughly enjoyed it and the portion was quite generous. As main, I had the tuna pasta which was so tasty, it honestly reminded me of the tuna pasta my mum makes at home back in Italy! Please be aware that payments are cash only, so make sure you have cash with you.
Perla B — Google review
A lovely small family owned restaurant and heads up, it is cash only there. We enjoyed our very first meal in Split at this restaurant. I went for the sardines starter as never had them before and they were delicious! I then went for the calamari as my starter and it was a very unique meal that I enjoyed a lot! Service was great and I couldn't recommend this place more if fancy some home-style cooked meals!
Ross C — Google review
This is a popular restaurant with no reservations. Food prepared is fresh and the items on the menu are available till the ingredients last. We had the Dalmatian prosciutto, fried squid and sea bass. The taste is quite fresh.

Brasserie on 7, also known as B7, is a casual eatery located on the Riva waterfront in Split. It offers a diverse menu featuring breakfast, pasta, seafood, and meat dishes along with pastries, coffee, and craft beer. The restaurant is praised for its lovely staff and great views without loud music. It's a popular spot for digital nomad meetups during the off-peak season from September to May when it's less crowded and more affordable.
Great experience overall! The service was very friendly and professional. All the staff wear the same colorful shirts, which adds to the good vibe of the place. I was especially impressed by how much attention they pay to the little details — I saw staff carefully adjusting cutlery and menus to perfection, which really shows their dedication. There’s a wide variety of breakfast options. I went with the B7 breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious. If you’re really hungry, I can confidently say most dishes here will satisfy your appetite. They also offer a great selection of juices — all very fresh and tasty for the warm weather. And to top it all off, the view of the sea is absolutely beautiful. 🌊
Jaro P — Google review
We visited Brasserie on 7 everyday during our recent holiday in Split as it was nearby our hotel. The breakfast menu had a good variety of options available and I tried to have something different everyday. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant is in a lovely location overlooking the water. The food was all great and the portions are very generous.
Meg R — Google review
Massive fan of this place despite the 2 year old review. The staff here were extremely friendly, and the food was excellent. Particularly the meats and cheese board: I found the meats here less salty than their Italian equivalents. The cheeses were excellent, especially the sheep cheese that paired perfectly with the fig jam.
Tsu N — Google review
I ordered risotto and tuna steak and it is amazing. it is worth the wait. The staffs here are really nice! Definitely will come back here
Jerson T — Google review
I expected a tourist trap, but it totally wasn't. Great steak, great service (thank you Anita), great location/view and reasonable prices given the area. We went there twice and the quality was consistent on both occasions!
Prav E — Google review
Brasserie on 7 is a beautiful spot right on the Riva, perfect for enjoying the sea view while having lunch. We ordered the Caesar salad and the lamb — both were good. The salad was fresh, but maybe lacks some ingredients, and the lamb was well cooked and very tender. The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. Prices are a bit higher than some other places in Split.
Sarah — Google review
Delicious and simple breakfast! The eggs Benedict was amazing. Service was somewhat poor, I had to wait 15 minutes to get my check and the server rarely checked in. Lovely atmosphere though!
Melinda H — Google review
We were really disappointed with parts of the meal: • The beef tartare was poor in both taste and presentation – definitely not worth €32. • The Caesar salad lacked flavor. • The chicken add-on (extra €6) had a strange taste. • The Caesar dressing was watery and bland. However, after we politely shared our feedback, the staff removed only the items we didn’t enjoy from the bill – which we found to be very fair and professional. Service throughout was extremely friendly and attentive. While the food didn’t fully meet our expectations, the way our concerns were handled earns them 4 stars.

Kantun Paulina, also known as Paulina's Corner, is a renowned eatery in Split that has been serving traditional cevapi since 1967. This establishment is highly popular among locals and visitors alike due to its long-standing tradition and delicious offerings.
What a great place! Food was good and quick. Meat was tender, the sauces were flavorful, but the bread was amazing! So fluffy and tasty. Along with the food, service is quick and very attentive. Staff, especially the woman behind the desk, was happy, joking with customers and all smiles. Definitely make this one of your stops while in Split.

If you love a meat sandwich, this is for you. My wife and I shared a medium sandwich and we were stuffed. Little beef sausages stuffed in the most delicious bun with red sauce and onions and cheese. Saw it on Somebody feed Phil and we knew we had to have it. Absolutely delicious. Cash only!!

I might consider moving to split just to eat here everyday. Get the full cevapi beef special with the red (ajvar) and white (kajmak) sauces and onions. The bread is so soft and tastes buttery. A must visit in split

Cevapi is life. Cevapi is love. Cevapi is the best. I ended up eating lunch here several times and still can't get enough. Get yours with all the fixings and eat it on the bench outside. Wonderful sandwich. No notes. I want more.
Brandon K — Google review
Never had a sandwich like this before. The bread was soft and not chewy at all. The meat tasted of high quality and overall, a very delicious sandwich for lunch. Recommend if you want something than a focaccia which many shops sell in the old town.
Ross C — Google review
Just had the most amazing ćevapi pita – perfectly grilled, juicy little sausages tucked into warm, fluffy pita, topped with fresh onions and a hit of ajvar. Smoky, savory, and straight-up addictive. Balkan comfort food at its best. 🔥 @Nicko’s Gyros & Souvlaki World Tour

There's a reason why this is the best sandwich in Split since 1916. We went there for a quick lunch and decided to have a small cepavi each (8.50€ each - cash only). It was absolutely delicious. The bread was so soft and moist with the meat juices, the meat was so tasty and full of flavour. For that price, it was a top lunch!!
Perla B — Google review
Great food at a reasonable price. A must have for budget travellers. You don’t need google maps to find it, just follow the trail of people leaving with sandwiches in their hands. The bread was fresh fluffy and delicious, the wine cheap and good and the fillings were amazing. Fabulous cevapi - loved every mouthful. Thera limited seating and it’s hard to stand inside without getting in the way so best to eat on the move or takeaway.

SILK - Pan-Asian Fusion and Izakaya in Split is a top choice for Asian cuisine, offering a variety of dishes including sushi, noodles, rice, dim sum, salads, curries and okonomiyaki. The restaurant has gained a reputation for its delicious food and quick service. It's known to be on the pricier side but worth it for those looking to indulge in high-quality Asian street food.
Yum yum YUM! I am writing this review with a very happy tummy and a very smiley face (after the very strong and delicious martini cocktail). The food was so fresh and flavourful and the service was on point! Thank you for a great night! (No photos of food it disappeared too quickly!)

This place is a great if you want to experience asian cuisine in Split. The food was really tasty and the portions were big. The prices were cheaper than most of split. The service was kind and fast. The atmosphere was warm. But the only bad thing is that the space is small and a bit too crowded.
A V — Google review
Silk has a great menu which you can choose to share or have your own meals. The Asian fusion was delicious and wouldn’t be out of place in Melbourne. Highly popular place, we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, but it was well worth it. The eggplant fingers are amazing.
Sarah R — Google review
Nice small place, good atmosphere. The food was good, but the only deception was the ceviche, that was not a ceviche at all. It was more like a tiradito and it had tons of coconut milk on it, so you couldn’t taste anything else on the plate. Instead of being a refreshing dish it turned out to be anything but that. Also this plate was really small for the price. Wouldn’t recommend it, but the rest was nice.
Melissa M — Google review
Silk is one of my favorite places. Been to the one in Zagreb many times and now tried Split. Food is great, not too much seats in Split but I’d recommend to go here and enjoy the food.
Avi Ø — Google review
We had the Hong Kong noodles with prawn and it was tasty but not a very big portion at all. This dish was €24.50 so pretty expensive (for any country) and the total bill was €58.00 for 2 dishes and 2 soft drinks. The tables are pretty crammed in so you sit very close to the other customers (all with chopsticks in hand and bits of food/sauce splashing around) so would be difficult to recommend for a meal out.
IH88 — Google review
Needs reservations esp on weekends, extremely hard to find a spot even for two people otherwise. We had to come back with reservation next day and the place was packed, didn’t enjoy sitting so close to the other customers really Food is really good, drinks are nice. They have alcohol and non alcoholic options. Portion size is fair and filling. But definitely overpriced. We got two starters, two mains and two drinks and ended up spending close to 90€, not including tip Service was only ok, when my husband was done and I was still not finished the waiter did take away my plate until I protested, this was awkward
Karthika N — Google review
We are a little bit disappointed. They got so many positive reviews, but the food wasn’t worth the high price. The soups was good, the fried rice was nice, but it wasn’t that special and too expensive. The service was terrible. No mocktails or cocktails. The best part was one of the waitress spilled our drink, she said sorry and nothing else. No convenience for emptying the bottle.

Visitors have raved about the freshness of the oysters and fish, as well as the unique twists added to each dish.
Super small (mini) Japanese sushi and oysters restaurant. Two tables out on the pavement and 1 or 2 tables inside. We went there because of the excellent reviews and were not disappointed! Delicious fresh oysters (6 for EUR 10), tuna tartar to die for, and yummy sushi (mixed platter). We were less impressed with the beef teriyaki, which was served on a lot of rice. Clearly, this place is specialised in seafood. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. Including a bottle of great white wine, the bill amounted to EUR 95.00 (for 2 persons).

DELICIOUS! I thought the sushi would be so fresh considering it’s right next to the water, and it did not disappoint. So many locals ordered take out while I had my three rolls, Dragon Roll, Fantasy Roll, and Bota Specialty Roll. All were great! Worth stopping here if you love sushi, it’s a good break from traditional Croatian cuisine if you need one. There’s only 4 tables here, so if you see an open seat, snag it!

This is the best place for sushi in town! Freshness of the fish is unparalleled. The chicken spring roll was one of the best tasting menu items in all restaurants I have ever eaten here. Plus they cook really fast if there is not too many guests there. Cool take away box as a bonus.

Good spot for sushi and oysters! The food was so good we ordered twice. A little pricey, but the wine list and cozy outdoor seating made up for it!

This is one of the best veggie and vegan sushi we have ever had. This place is tiny so do reserve in advance. We ordered the vegetation platter and it was delicious. The food was very fresh.

Amazing sushi and fresh oysters. It’s quite a popular place so reservations are recommended. It’s a interesting blend of Japanese and Dalmatian seafood. The sushi is a bit pricey but it’s worth it to visit as a treat.

Great food, kind service, cute little alley. Minus-no toilet at the "restaurant", but the neighboring bar kindly allows you to use theirs.

I have been to the same restaurant in Dubrovnik so when I heard there was also one in Split I just had to take my mum to try it out & I am so glad that i did. The sashimi is some of the freshest I have experienced to date. It melted in our mouths. The rice was cooked perfectly & the oysters was absolutely delicious. Service was impeccable. We came at a slightly awkward time as it wasn’t yet dinner (we had finished a late Marjan walk & needed to refuel!) but regardless we were made welcome immediately. This is not really somewhere I would recommend if you are after a heavy, large lunch or dinner but it is perfect if you’re wanting something lighter & if you prefer quality not quantity.

ST Burek is a renowned establishment in Split, operating since 1983 and offering some of the best burek pastries in the area. This savory snack features flaky filo dough filled with various ingredients like meat, potatoes, cheese, and spinach. It's a popular choice for a quick and affordable meal in Split, with generous portions priced at less than $3. The small shop is known for its traditional lunch menu and is often recommended for takeout due to limited seating.
Best Burek ever! Highly recommend! We had the meat, chicken, and cheese and all were fabulous. My mum had a slice of pizza that was also very tasty! Lovely staff and a great experience! Worth a visit when in Split.
Katie T — Google review
Good borek - we got meat and potato. He gives you a generous slice. The pastry was flaky. Could be filled with more meat but overall really enjoyed. Good for grab and go!
Beatrice G — Google review
This was hands down one of the best street food experiences we had in Croatia — and easily the best value. For just €3 you get a huge piece of Burek, a golden puff pastry made of delicate, buttery layers stuffed with either meat or cheese. My wife and I split one beef and one cheese, and while both were tasty, the meat one was our favorite. Be warned though — these are filling. For the price of a coffee elsewhere in Europe, you’ll be full for hours on something that tastes remarkable. What made the experience even better was the hospitality. The guys at the counter were super friendly and laid-back — even something as simple as filling our water bottle was met with kindness, which isn’t always the case in places like Italy or France. Their easygoing vibe and genuine warmth made the stop even more memorable. Delicious food, unbeatable price, and authentic hospitality — I’d come back just for them. Highly recommend!

The most flaky, crunch Phyllo dough I’ve ever had. We shared a beef Burek and a spinach cheese burek. So delicious and filling. Just a warm delicious meal.

Great, cheap, tasty and very filling local food. Felt like it should be takeaway but had the option to eat in ... which we did. Had the cottage cheese with spinach and meat options - good food!

There is a reason why this business has been around for 40 years - it is quick, filling, and delicious street food. It is a small place that offers street service, counter service take-away, or counter service and have a seat at one of the few tables. There are several options, but depending on when you arrive, there may not be many choices left - it must sell out fast when it opens. We were lucky enough to get the last piece with meat. It reminded me of a traditional meat pie, but made of great tasting Philo dough. A great local choice. Thanks.

Light, but hearty at the same time. The meat burek was particularly fantastic. I visited multiple times during my time in Split. Very well priced and a good range of freshly made bureks. A beautiful way to start the day.

Kogo is a hidden gem in Split, perfect for those seeking delicious and affordable local cuisine. This unpretentious takeaway spot offers a daily-changing menu filled with classic Croatian dishes that evoke the warmth of home-cooked meals, reminiscent of the Milk Bars found in Krakow but with a distinct Croatian flair. The offerings include hearty options like stuffed peppers, Greek salad, and meat stew—all served cafeteria-style from a bain marie.
Excellent authentic Dalmatian / Croatian and other food. A hidden gem. Be there early to enjoy the whole palette of homemade dishes. Cash only, but it doesn’t cost you more than a dime.

Fife is a popular restaurant located in the Veli Varos neighborhood of Split, Croatia. It offers an authentic local experience with its casual and lively atmosphere. The menu features daily specials including traditional Croatian dishes such as black cuttlefish risotto, fried sardines, and lamb meatballs. Despite the indifferent service and crowded seating, Fife provides a budget-friendly option for those looking to enjoy Croatian cuisine.
The prices are better than other restaurants and you can find local food. The atmosphere was nice. Even though it was crowded, we didn’t wait long. The portions were big and tasty. The menu has something for everyone. We chose the tripe, pasticada with gnocchi, and black cuttlefish risotto. Everything was very delicious, thank you 🤗🌸
Damla A — Google review
This restaurant is by far my favorite! The ingredients are fresh, the food is delicious, and the service is great. We returned to this restaurant two times in a row and ordered the same dishes—Pasticada with Gnocchi and Cod Fish Brudetto, which is made from dry cod fish. The texture of the dry cod reminded me of my Chinese heritage, as we often use dried seafood in our dishes. It evokes nostalgia and is full of rich flavour.

We had dinner - beef goulash and mash, pasticada, house red, and local beer. All was good good, service was excellent, food came out quick and the waiter was really nice. Mains were 20€ & 13€, the beer 4,5€ and house red 3,5€. Its right next to the promenade and quiet ambience! Lover it and would recommend stopping by for a dinner.

I asked chat gpt to recommend a good and cheap Dalmatian Restaurant and the first result was this Restaurant. I liked it so much that I came almost every day to drink and eat . I tried the tuna pate , grilled veggies, goulash with mashed potatoes and the Cevapcici. Everything was great ! The waiters were very friendly and the service was always fast …. Nothing to complain 👌

My experience at Fife was just amazing. We order the "Pasticada" and the grilled Seabass and both of the dishes were absolutely tasty. The sauce of the "Pasticada" was perfectly sweet and sour and the meat was delicious. The seabass was just grilled to perfect and had a potato side that was just mouth-watering. The people there were very friendly, very nice and cordial. The atmosphere was also very nice both inside and outside the restaurant.

Two days in a row were fantastic... if I visit Split again, I'll definitely stay here again. Day 1: The Dalmatian prosciutto starter was delicious, but unfortunately sliced far too thickly. The olives weren't worth the name – the cheapest quality. But the main courses on both days, "Sarme" (sarma) and goulash, were 3 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟... Definitely try the bread 🍞 and the olive oil – it's divine!
Stefan K — Google review
Ordered the salted sardines (€5) and scampi (€25), both were a disappointment. Sardines were overly salty, and the scampi had barely any meat and came in shells, which I wasn’t expecting. “Fresh” orange juice (€6) tasted bottled. Paid €36 and left hungry. Felt like a tourist trap. I feel that in split there’s a pressure to tip, even when the experience doesn’t merit it, but at least the waiter let me know I could skip it, which didn’t happen in other places. Although I tipped anyway. Response to the owner: I understand salted sardines are meant to be salty, but that doesn’t mean they should be inedible. The scampi had very little meat and no sides — for the price, that’s alarming. The orange juice didn’t taste fresh, and I didn’t see it being prepared. Dalmatian food is not defined by your restaurant (thankfully), as I’ve tried other restaurants and had much better experiences. If I wanted junk food, I’d have gone to McDonald’s, but I didn’t need to as I had this experience going to your restaurant, except that it was more expensive. I expected quality, but left hungry and disappointed. Additionally, responding to customer feedback with sarcasm isn’t the best way to represent your business.

Hands down best konoba in Split. Central location, very reasonable prices, house wine is 3,50! And the food is soooo delicious. We ate here half of our stay in town and I regret not trying the sea bass earlier it was so good and fresh and I know a good fish when I try one. They have a good selection of grilled and pre made dishes, traditional ones too. If you want to eat good, this is the place to go.

Ignore every bad review on here and listen up because those people clearly have no taste buds. Everything we ordered was delicious, EVERYTHING!! the steaks were perfectly cooked, the sides all full of flavor, the steak sauces were a perfect touch to top it off, and the drinks were amazing! Our waitress was very attentive! And a meal like this goes perfect with the restaurant set up and vibe! Dont pass this place up trust me!

I had the steak fillet here and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever tried – perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The wine selection is amazing and pairs beautifully with the food. The atmosphere is just perfect – elegant yet relaxed, making it an absolutely must-visit spot in Split. A special thanks to Blazhe for the outstanding service – attentive, friendly, and truly made the experience memorable. Highly recommend Chops Grill for anyone looking for top-class steak, seafood. and a great dining experience!

Beautiful meal and last night at Split. The best steak and ribs dinner in awhile in Croatia! We had the Black Angus Rib eye and pork ribs with truffled potatoes and vegetables (capsicum, zucchini and mushrooms) on the side, and a bottle of the Italian Solco Toscana Syrah (Awarded best Italian red), went very well with the meal, easy to drink and smooth. Highly recommend this establishment. We enjoyed the atmosphere, with the soft live accoustic. Thank you to Ante, our wait staff for recommending the wine and for the service. Ante was quite, knowledgeable and super kind and friendly. A truly memorable evening for our last night in Split. Sad to be leaving.

The service is extremely friendly, and the food is incredibly delicious – you can easily say this is the best steak in town. The prices may not be the lowest, but the taste and quality are at the highest possible level. We recommend it to everyone, and we will definitely come back when we’re in Split again.

Just brilliant! You should try mixed grill plate for two. Everything so tender, great side dishes and the Service and atmosphere is outstanding as well. Big compliment to our waiter Ivan R.! Of course it’s a bit more expressive than other restaurants, but definitely worth it. In other restaurants you pay 30€ for a steak that doesn’t taste well, so better pay 5-10€ more for an amazing one! We‘ll definitely come back :)
Maximilian S — Google review
A nice steakhouse in central Split. We ordered the chops grill for two (€68), which included chicken, sirloin steak, and veal. However, the price covers only the meat (sauces and sides must be ordered separately). At that price point, I feel at least fries or another side should be included, as paying extra makes it feel a bit expensive for just the meat. Also, I think I had the most expensive bottle of water of my life at Chops (9€ for a bottle of still water!). I rated the service 4 stars because when the platter arrived, no one explained which cut was which, so we had to figure it out ourselves. In my experience dining at steakhouses across Europe, introducing the cuts is standard practice. The meat was good, really juicy and very well cooked. The sauces (we ordered the bernaise and the truffle sauces) were very tasty too. My partner loved the onion rings, they were super crispy!

One of the best places to have dinner in split. The location is perfect, as well as the atmosphere, the staff is polite, but the most important thing is the food which is beyond tasty, especially Steak Wellington.

We had a fantastic dining experience, made even better by our incredible waiter, Peter. From the moment we sat down, Peter was attentive, knowledgeable, and warm—he truly elevated our evening. The food was exceptional. The sushi was some of the freshest we've ever had, all locally sourced. Every dish was beautifully presented, and Peter’s recommendations were absolutely spot on. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier seafood and a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

We loved this restaurant so much. The food was delicious, we shared some sushi rolls such as California roll, spicy tuna and avocado roll. We also shared an amazing peach salad, the peaches were fresh and very sweet. My husband said the oysters were excellent and this was the first place we could find oysters available in split. The best part was our waiter Alex, he taught us more about the palace and its history. He was so kind and welcoming. Amazing experience.

Best sushi in Split and possibly ever!!! Perfectly prepared and best presentation ever witnessed. I've had lots of sushi from okay to what I thought was really good, but this was outstanding (new level to beat)! If you are a sushi lover would definitely go here if you are in city! Additionally, the restaurant provides an unforgettable burger experience featuring top-notch beef from Croatian Istrian cows, as well as chicken, veggie, and salmon options.
Really amazing place serving up high quality wraps and salads. They also have a range of homemade drinks that are insane (elderflower, garden lemonade, sage — that kind of thing). The owner is an absolute sweetheart and super happy to help you with the menu. All of the meat they use is halal too, they’ll just remove the bacon and clean the grill before serving if you mention it. Would highly recommend!

Delicious meat wraps made with love! The bread is fresh and crispy and despite our tiredness, the staff were all smiling and energetic. I had the Skinny Chicken which was very flavourful; messy, but tasty! The restaurant is owned by two sisters who are passionate about their business. It was lovely hearing their story and the idea that they wanted to start a franchise (please come to Liverpool, England). We mentioned that we read them in the easyJet magazine and were recommended them by our tour guide, so it must be good!

Lovely place. All meat except bacon are halal. The staff (especially Milka) was so kind and explained how they will clean the grill and cook our food separately to prevent cross contamination, and would not put any bacon in our meals. Hidden gem in split especially for Muslims looking for halal food. We really enjoyed the truffle burger, and definitely get the chips with the chef sauce!!!

The hospitality here was exceptional. You can tell the people who work here love their jobs and love taking care of people. The woman who works the register was phenomenal at efficiently helping everyone and making them feel cared for at the same time. The food was the best I had in Split. It was so much more flavorful than other sandwich shops. Not only are the prices reasonable but the portions are generous. If you want something quick and delicious to fill you up for a day of sight seeing or before a night of drinking, this is your stop. I tried the Sexy Cow, Smash the Moo, and the Out of Control. Each was amazing! I don’t think you can go wrong here. Between the food and the service, I am a raving fan!
Emily H — Google review
Viisited here in after reading great reviews, but my experience didn’t live up to the hype. I ordered the Sexy Cow burger and Skinny Chicken, both of which arrived cold and were overloaded with salad, making it hard to taste the meat. The burger was underwhelming, with barely any beef flavor, and the Skinny Chicken was only slightly better due to roasted onions. On the plus side, the owner was friendly, but overall, the food didn’t justify the price. I wouldn’t return.

A pretty great experience with service in comparison with other places in town. Friends and I had a pretty unsatisfying experience with other places in Croatia, so Sexy cow for us was such a lovely place where it feels like they’ve been waiting for you. Proactively asking for a feedback and wishing you to enjoy the time. I wish more people try to visit this place. The food was delicious and without a long waiting time. I visited this wonderful restaurant twice on my first day in Split, as the menu and my first experience during brunch were very satisfying. Located right in the Center of the old town the atmosphere especially during the evening is what you would expect from an old City Center with lots of beautiful architecture and restaurants and cafes. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, while the food tasted very very good. For brunch I had the avocado and salmon with scrambled eggs with nicely toasted bread and afterwards the banana bread with caramel cream. Both was served quite quickly, which served me well as I had been to the gym right before. For dinner I tried their baked Camembert with caramelised onions a followed by their ravioli filled with ricotta and prawns on a nicely made sage sauce. None disappointed and I highly recommend.

A really nice place with interesting options, great flavors, and beautifully presented dishes. We ordered the Caesar salad, a breakfast burger, and the avocado & salmon sandwich – everything was delicious. The Caesar salad especially surprised us with its size – huge and very tasty. Konoba Fetivi is a charming Dalmatian restaurant that offers an unpretentious dining experience, showcasing the region's abundant ingredients with simplicity and respect. With a history spanning 300 years in the neighborhood, this family-run establishment specializes in local delicacies, particularly seafood which varies daily based on the catch of the day. The menu also features a variety of meat dishes, staying true to its Dalmatian heritage.
4 days ago, I asked ChatGPT for a seafood spot in Split, and it pointed me to this place. When I looked it up on Google, I saw the owner’s hilarious replies to some bad reviews like stand up comedy level and I knew I had to check it out. So my friend and I came here… and wow, what a great decision! The prawn cream soup and grilled fish were amazing. The chef’s selection came with four kinds of fish ,each one had its own vibe and texture, and all of them were super tasty. The portion was huge.Honestly, three people could share it. The fish was super fresh, grilled just right: tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The seasoning was simple but spot-on, letting the fish shine. Hands down, the best grilled fish I’ve had in Croatia. Also, don’t sleep on the bread and olive oil—they were surprisingly good. You can really taste the quality. I’d totally recommend this place to anyone coming to Split. I’m already planning to come back next time I’m in town!

Lovely restaurant. We were feeling wary after having had a not so great experience at another nearby restaurant but this turned out to be our favourite restaurant experience of our entire trip. We were sat in a covered outdoor area that was nicely shaded and comfortable with a lot of fun decorations on the walls and even a nice little vintage sewing machine on a nearby table (which, as a hobby sewer, I was delighted to see). Our waiter was friendly and attentive and brought out a tray full of the fresh fish they had available that day. We were able to try out scorpion fish which was expertly prepared (and tasted amazing!) and which we opted to eat with a side of grilled vegetables. We also had a warm appetizer of octopus and chickpeas beforehand that came in a sauce so tasty we used almost all of our bread to sop it up. At the waiter's suggestion we finished our meal with their traditional layered cake (containing figs and walnuts) which was moist and flavorful. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Our dinner was started with a warm welcome. Easy-to-read menu with all prices well listed. The next thing were were presented was the fresh fish platter that allowed you to choose the fish you want, there were turbot, grouper, red snapper, sea bass, sea bream, monkfish, cuttlefish, etc. They would have other sizes available just make sure you ask. We ordered a red snapper, size for two persons and it was perfectly grilled in whole. All we added was some olive oil and salt & pepper. We also tried their black risotto and it tasted like heaven!

One of the best experiences we've had in Croatia. Everything was fantastic, fresh, and perfectly cooked. We ordered a number of different dishes instead of the main grilled fish (since we've done that at other places and wanted to try more stuff) and ended up with a spectacular meal. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Really fresh and well grilled seafood! We saw great reviews of the prawns cream soup and it did not disappoint. We also chose grilled flounder and octopus, which were both really good too. This restaurant is really cosy and pretty on the inside, and service is prompt and friendly. Would recommend! Make a reservation if you can as we saw quite a few people being turned away!

The black risotto is hands down the winner of the day! Rich and creamy and the octopus so very tender. It's a must-have when you dine at Fetivi. The grilled octopus was the most tender and savory we had in Split compared to two other restaurants we visited in Split. And the chef's selection of grilled fish was a very generous portion for two. We highly recommend Konoba Fetivi for anyone wanting the best locally cooked seafood in Split!

Corto Maltese Freestyle Food is a popular spot with a unique, rustic atmosphere that serves updated Croatian and Italian cuisine along with creative cocktails. The restaurant's eclectic decor creates a whimsical ambiance, featuring comics and antiques. Guests rave about the impressive presentation of the dishes. The Honey Ginger Mojito made with brugal rum, lime, mint, honey, ginger, and soda is a crowd pleaser.
Incredible food, incredible people. MALA is the best server; so attentive, such good recommendations, perfect service. We had a large group that she handled flawlessly. I would recommend anyone to come here and enjoy all of the food, and the beautiful wines that they have on offer. The dessert was delicious as well! Mala made our evening perfect.

A great meal. Feels home cooked. Service was fantastic. Not overbearing. Attentive to our slow pace. Great wine recommendations. Lams was delicious and meat fell off the bone. Tagliatelle was fresh and the Buratta was amazing.

This place is like ART. My little dessert eggs were just delightful. The food was great. Just don't get overambitious and over order. Freestyle means it's not made to any set traditional recipe, suits me fine - better than eating various iterations of the same thing, you finish all the traditional recipes in a short time in Croatia. Special mention to the wonderful politeness and respect given by the wait staff. Above the already high Croatian bar.

My boyfriend and I went here yesterday for dinner and were so amazed by the food! We passed by and thought it looked very cosy so decided to try. The food was so so good and without a doubt the best we’ve had during our whole vacation (which was 13 days). Our waitress was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. We loved every minute of it and would recommend it!!! Oh and I really loved my strawberry lemonade!!

Dining at this restaurant was an absolute delight from start to finish. The food was nothing short of stunning—every dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From starters to mains, everything was executed with precision and creativity, making it hard to pick a favorite. That said, the mains, The Squid Game, and Angry Bird, ae well as the dessert, Nadalina, deserves a special mention. The dessert was rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced, and it was the kind of sweet ending that lingers in your memory. Service was equally impressive. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about the dining experience. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness, always on hand without being intrusive. The ambiance added to the charm—stylish yet relaxed, with a vibe that made you want to linger a little longer. Whether you're out for a romantic evening or a casual dinner with friends, the setting feels just right. Prices were surprisingly reasonable given the quality of food and service. It’s rare to find a place that delivers on all fronts without breaking the bank. This restaurant is a gem, and I’ll definitely be returning. If you’re looking for a memorable meal with exceptional dessert, _Nadalina_ alone is worth the visit.

Mala is incredible and made our dinner absolutely phenomenal! Each dish ordered was fantastic, we even requested to meet the chef and he was just so humble and kind. This was by far the best dinner we’ve had in all of Croatia, and we’ve been here for 7 days and went sailing to multiple islands and this was our BEST meal! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing! One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Croatia. Every single dish was delicious and full of flavor — you can truly taste the quality and care in the food. The atmosphere was also perfect, with great vibes that made the whole evening even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Ana, who was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. She made us feel so welcome and added a personal touch to the experience. Highly recommended! I absolutely loved it and will definitely come back. ❤️

I don't know how to explain this place... don't hesitate and just go there. I had a sensational experience. Especially the "smoke on the water" and " ballad of the salted sea" were next level. I came there second time even more. People working there were super nice as well, highlight of my dinner experience in Splir.

Apetit is a restaurant located within the walls of a 15th-century Papaliceva palace in the Old Town, Split. The menu offers Dalmatian meat and fish dishes with a creative twist, prepared to the highest quality. With a history of serving exceptional gastronomy for over 700 years, this restaurant continues to prioritize culinary excellence.
Although it was located in a small alley, it was a restaurant with a very sophisticated atmosphere and a good taste. The manners and service of the server were also very friendly and good. He checked our condition from time to time and made us feel good. Tuna steak and truffle pasta were very delicious, and the iced coffee was sweet and delicious. 😋

The best meal we had in Split. (Okay, we have one more night, but I feel confident that this will be the best.) Amazing food and service. Do not miss the tonnarelli with Adriatic squid and olives. Shocked it wasn’t more full on a Saturday night - hidden gem!

Was here with my friend for dinner, came at around 7pm and was no line. Tried pasta with and octopus and olives 🫒 Portion size was great, really juicy and delicious. Also, waiter shared couple dishes which are not on the menu - risotto with meat and another with seafood. He said those are one of the most popular meals.
Kseniia M — Google review
We were in Split for 2 weeks and ended up dining at Apetit 3 times. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was great! Each time we ordered something different and all of them were superb! My only regret is that we didn’t get to go back again as there are still a few dishes we didn’t try.

We went for dinner as a couple and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour (we forgot to take the pictures sorry!). Tuna tartare was really smooth and melty, and we got the beef medaillon which was also delicious. The service was excellent, with staff taking the time to describe each dish, which made the meal feel even more special. The wine list by the glass is well curated, featuring a good selection of regional wines. Warm atmosphere, attentive service, and great food. Highly recommend!

Apetit is a great dinner choice in the old town of Split. We got the Adriatic Squid and White fish. Great presentation, excellent flavors, and the olive oil they use is great quality. The Tiramisu was also delicious and freshly made. A little pricy for the portion but overall a good pick.

We walked past as we were wondering around Split. The restaurant is well put together with simple and natural decor, and the food seems to follow a similar stylist choice. We ordered the Eggplant Tempura, Tuna Steak, and Pašticata. All of which were wonderful to eat in perfectly sized portions. The staff was very professional and the appropriate amount of attentive. I would recommend this place for a evening dinner any day of the week.

A small birthday dinner here last night with friends and everyone loved the food and drinks. We tried many dishes including squid, whole seabass, pork ribs, pasta and roasted veggies. Very cute Mexican restaurant in old town Split. It's a great option if you're looking for something a bit different from the other restaurants in town. Excellent veggie and vegan options too. The food is very tasty but it's not served spicy so you can add your own heat levels. For spice lovers the hot sauces are exceptional and have a fantastic heat. Great margaritas also! I love how they donate money to the street cats of Split. A nice kind idea.

Woowwwwww!!! Such an exceptional service and food, you must go to this place in your tour to split! Definitely can't miss if you are a Mexican food lover and like different flavours bursting in your mouth giving your palette a rich ride of tastes coming together so nicely...It's a small place and hence you might have to wait until being seated if you are going on weekend, but I promise it would be worth it ... Being a vegetarian this is a gold mine to find!!

The food was authentic and full of flavor, but what really stood out was the service. The staff went out of their way to help us choose dishes and even offered different sauces to try, which made the experience feel personal and thoughtful. Everything arrived quickly and tasted great. The only downside was the portion size—it felt a bit small for the price. But considering the location, right in the heart of the castle area, that’s somewhat expected. Still, for quality Mexican food and genuinely welcoming service, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

I loved trying tacos around the world. These were genuinely some of the best I’ve had in Europe. I ordered several options - pork rib (Al pastor), carnitas, and beans & plantain. All incredible. The horchata was a 10/10 and my husband also had the fish tacos, which was also incredible. Can’t go wrong with this place if you need a break from all the local classics. :)

We cannot rave enough about our wine tasting experience at Uje!!!! Marina’s knowledge, professionalism, and kindness did not go unnoticed. I’m gluten free, so she immediately ordered gluten free bread for myself so I could be included in the tasting. My friend is also vegetarian. Marina went out of her way to bring her tomatoes instead of prosciutto so she could taste certain notes in the red wine. We left feeling like Marina was our own Mama taking care of us!!! HIGHLY recommend as a must!!!!

We enter the Uje Oil Bar today and we're treated horribly. My wife & I were deeply humiliated. We sat down at a table for two. There were a couple of empty tables that could fit 4 people. We said hi to the people seated near us and we were greeted with smiles. We waited approximately 10-15 minutes and a waiter/host came to our table who advised us we are not to sit there & we were instructed to leave. His tone & abusive actions were rude & mean. We were glad to depart this highly prejudice establishment. So sad that such a place exists in Split, Croatia. A hudge DISAPPOINTMENT. We do NOT recommend.

Lovely atmosphere, the patio to the rear makes for a wonderful experience. We had the cheese board starter with the chutneys followed by the gnocchi and the tuna. The tuna was a definite highlight and would recommend, but all the food was thoroughly enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to eat in Split, then you would be wise to consider dining here.

The place is very nice, quiet, comfortable. But we were disappointed with the food. We ordered risotto with prawns, pasta and pork steaks. Meat was delicious, but the portion for 29€ is really small, there was no side dishes. Risotto was salty and full of sauce. But the dessert was delicious. We visited the restaurant several years ago and were happy and very satisfied with the food, sizes and prices. This time really big disappointment.

Mazzgoon is a charming restaurant offering both indoor and outdoor patio seating. This is a family run modern European food restaurant. We dined here in the evening on the patio. The weather was perfect. We were enveloped by the dim lighting and the history of the castle walls, a truly magical vibe. We truly enjoyed our dishes. Beautifully presented. The only disappointment was that the mussels were almost too salty to eat. Our waiter kindly explained they don't add salt as they come from the already very salty sea. This made sense. We ate them anyway, with a lot of additional beverages lol

The head chef Ante is a genius. At age 23 he runs an incredible menu. Peter our waiter was amazing with food recommendations and service as very quick. Articok is an upscale European restaurant with a bohemian ambiance and outdoor seating. The chefs at Articok come from various countries and have been recognized with prestigious culinary awards. If you're in the mood to splurge, Articok offers modern fine dining near the northern city walls. For those seeking local specialties at affordable prices, Buffet Fife is recommended.
Articok in Split truly offers a fantastic dining experience, as beautifully captured in these images. From the inviting ambiance to the exquisitely presented dishes, it's clear this restaurant is a must-visit. The outdoor terrace looks incredibly appealing, providing a perfect setting to enjoy a meal under the clear blue sky, with charming views of the surrounding historic buildings. Inside, the modern and artistic lighting creates a chic and sophisticated atmosphere. And then, the food! The dishes are not only visually stunning but also appear to be crafted with care and creativity. The braised meat dish with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables looks incredibly rich and flavorful, with crispy fried onions adding a lovely textural contrast. The pink drink and bright orange cocktail suggest a vibrant beverage selection to complement the meal. The appetizer with sliced ingredients, like carpaccio, adorned with fresh herbs and a side of olives, hints at a refined and fresh start to the meal. The risotto topped with thinly sliced fish showcases an innovative approach to traditional dishes. Overall, Articok appears to deliver on both atmosphere and culinary excellence, making it a highly recommended spot for a memorable meal in Split.

Had dinner here this evening and had a fantastic time! The food was delicious and great value. My friend had the aubergine risotto which she said was delicious and I had the slow beef risotto and as the waitress described it's a "party in your mouth". The staff were amazing! They were super allergen conscious. My friend has a severe nut allergy and they couldn't be more understanding and helpful. They were also very informative about the wine and dishes. The atmosphere on the roof top is exquisite with old movies showing on a projector. I'm so glad we came across this restaurant ❤️
Jennifer B — Google review
My wife and I went here the other night for supper. I definitely recommend making a reservation to eat up on the roof - amazing atmosphere. After being seated, we were quickly met by our waitress and she took our drink and food order. I will say that being on the roof after sunset is a perfect meal. They project old movies on a building next to the restaurant - very unique. Our G&Ts tasted great with a local tonic. Our meals were fairly quick to come out and tasted great, and the waitress was very nice and helpful with menu explanations. I would like to point out another interesting thing on their menu - you can buy meals for the needy by adding them to your bill. The money is collected and at certain times of the year (Christmas, etc), food is delevered/provided to needy families. I think this is an amazing idea, as you enjoy your delicious food, you know that you can also give back to those less fortunate in the community. Thanks.
Troy C — Google review
We had the slow cooked beef rib and the duck. The food was tasty and price was reasonable for the quality. Duck dish could have been a tiny bit hotter but nice experience overall. The rooftop setting was a great atmosphere. Enjoyed our meal out.
Emily R — Google review
Beautiful roof terrace just past the end of the boulevard. Good option if you're looking for a bit more elegance to your dinner, beyond what a regular Croatian konoba can offer. Dishes on the menu sound creative and exciting and are sourced locally (so is the wine list). We had the bruschetta with sheep cheese and aged ham (pršut), followed by an excellent artichoke risotto and seafood orecchiette. The risotto was our favorite; very fresh, perfectly al dente, and a good balance between olive oil and zesty lemon. The seafood pasta was tasty and contained a nice amount of courgette to balance the saltiness. Very high quality food, living up to the expectations set by the relatively high menu prices. Portions were a bit small though, so I would recommend ordering an additonal main course to share. We had just one glass of white wine, which failed to impress. However, the salted honey whiskey sour I liked a lot. Staff is friendly and more than happy to provide recommendations. The inside of the restaurant looks modern but still cozy, but the roof terrace was even better, with a 1950's black and white movie projected on another building to complement the ambiance.

We didn’t have the chance to sit upstairs as it was already full, but we were seated on the ground floor right away. The food came almost immediately, which was a pleasant surprise, and everything was delicious. The staff were very kind and took the time to explain how our dishes were prepared, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The only disappointment was the Pavlova dessert. It wasn’t quite what we expected , traditionally it should come with fresh fruits, especially when they are in season. While it wasn’t bad, we wouldn’t recommend it compared to the rest of the menu.
Cristina P — Google review
Stopped in here for lunch. I got an appetizer of focaccia with cheese and prosciutto, and a Jerusalem artichoke/artichoke risotto. Both very good, but the risotto would have been filling enough on its own! I couldn’t finish. Also ordered an Aperol spritz. It was fairly quiet while I was there as I came right when it opened.

Found this place on a rainy evening in Split. We were a party of 6 and had a few different appetizers and mains. Everything was ok. We returned the next day for a quick lunch - had pizza - was great and the salad rice bowl - was so so, I would have probably changed the long grain rice for a different type and serve it as a cold salad. Drinks were on the pricier side, but that's expected given the location, right off the harbor and right on the Riva. Yet, the overall experience was very good.

On the seaside I would rather called Port, but this place instead of airport Terminal F. I like the design (could be great if arrival departure boards replaced with LED TV where Split airport live data could be displayed). Staff very friendly (girls hot 🙃) food very tasty. Only 4 stars as extremely salty (I do like salty food but this was even to much for me) the only place in Croatia where we found European style lemonade (sparkling water syrup lemon slices and ice). Ok maybe a bit overpriced. In hungary 0.5L around 3€, here 6.5€ Will happily come back

The food was good but not representative of the photos , I had the pancakes as breakfast on the picture it was a layer of 6 however when it came it was only 3, 3 pancakes at 12 euros… then I took the Greek yogurt because I wasn’t full yet again I was deceived, no strawberries as it was on the picture. I can understand actual food and pictures can differ but it’s essential to mention it somewhere on the menu that the picture are only for display purpose… For the service I didn’t give a tip because I was not satisfied and no water on the table , Only positive is the place looks nice.

Nice italian restoran with pizza cooked right in the middle of the restoran. Pizzas and pasta are excellent. Prices are affordable. Service is quick and efficient.

I am very unhappy with the service of this establishment!!! It started to rain outside. We went inside, sat down at a table, asked for a menu, but we weren't hungry, we wanted to warm up. We wanted to order tea, dessert, and coffee. We were refused, you can only eat at the table! The waitress answered us that "I understand that it's raining outside, but people eat here, not drink coffee." Dear administration of this establishment, your waiters are trained in restaurant etiquette! To refuse a visitor to sit at a table because he ordered tea and dessert instead of pizza! This is terrible, I don't recommend it!! Disgusting!!!

This place is well located close to the pedestrian walk Riva. Delicious pizza 🍕 😋 and the service was fast. We had a busy day and this place was just a perfect stop for us to chill outside and enjoy.

Really well situated on a crossroads of pedestrian streets. Great for people watching. The outside space is small but worth having a drink at the bar while you wait. Food and service was excellent. Sorry but we let the heat out of the food before the photo was taken

Heard it from TikTok, ordered their special pizza, can’t say it’s not good. The service was alright. But there was just a serve came up to me and rejected my service dog to be sitting next to me. Btw she’s helping with psychotic reason. So I wouldn’t recommend to come if you have a dog. They do have an outdoor area might be better but the weather was too hot around 94 degrees, so I can’t do it for sure.

The pizzas are super nice! Tasty and full of ingredients. The dough is neither thick nor thin, crunchy, cooked in proper oven (fire). Be aware this is the only option in the menu. The service is helpful and fast, also fair prices.

Pub
Restaurant
Located on the ground floor of a prominent nineteenth-century residential palace in Split, Fabrique Pub is a popular hotspot for social gatherings. The pub boasts one of the largest interiors in town, featuring tasteful industrial-style decor. It offers an extensive selection of international beers, signature cocktails, and a wide variety of gin and tonic options. During the day, it operates as a restaurant serving classic pub fare with a modern twist and Croatian influence.
Very nicely decorated restaurant. We were hot and tired from walking all morning so really enjoyed sitting inside in the cool air conditioning. Good menu of varied options to choose from. We got the 'Fabrique Burger' which was really good. Juicy meat with a great taste, loads of lovely smokey melted cheese, lots of small pieces of really crispy bacon and well cooked onions. Served in a really nice soft bun. Got a portion of sweet potato fries which was large and they were perfectly cooked and tasted great. Also got a portion of the roasted vegetables. In some places this can be a bit rubbish, but not here! Was a big bowl of perfectly cooked different vegetables (carrots, peppers, courgette, leeks, mushrooms) and was not only presented very well but the taste matched the look. Bit annoying they wouldn't serve tap water. Only the second place we've been too all week that wouldn't allow it. And a shame as the tap water here is so nice. Clearly a money making scheme as a small bottle of Sprite was 5.50! (The highest price we've seen) However, I got an iced latte which was amazing. And strangely at 4 euros cost less than a Sprite! Overall a lovely meal with very good service, in a great setting. Would highly recommend the food here.

Cool venue with plenty of space and a great dark, moody vibe. There’s a DJ playing too, which adds to the atmosphere. We had the sharing platter, and it was definitely a lot of food—we were three people, ordered four portions, and it was more than enough (they packed up what we didn’t finish to take away). The sausage and the grains salad were the highlights. Bread was a bit dry, but overall, a solid experience.

Walked into this pub on the street and it had decent reviews. Didn’t regret walking in the door. The layout of this place was very good and well thought out, plenty of big tables and enough room for everyone, I think the booths were a little low but mostly can’t fault the seating. The food is reasonably priced for the area which is good. The taste of the food was amazing, a lot of thought has been put into the taste and the flavours in each dish. Beer and drinks were also good. Highly recommend visiting this establishment if in the area of Split.

Visited Fabrique Pub on a Friday night and got a table within 10 minutes without a reservation. The place is spacious with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors – we chose outside, which was perfect for a date night. The Neapolitan-style Il Bastardo pizza was incredible, with amazing ingredients and flavour, and the pasta carbonara was equally great. The DJ kicked off around 10:30, making it a fantastic night out!

10/10! Prices low, service high. Food was an on spot match! The chicken was crispy outside and fluffy rose on the inside. Tasted like heaven! The potato salad was the exact perfect thing I needed on a hot evenning. Wine was delicious! Huge thx at the kitchen for making such an masterpiece! A special thx goes to my waiter Mr. Lucic Marink for a positive service experience! My next visit to Split I'm gonna be dining and drinking HERE from the beginning on! Recommendation 100%

Restaurant Bajamonti is a true gem in the heart of Split, perfectly situated at the end of the Riva and nestled within the vibrant Prokurative square. This charming eatery not only boasts stunning views of the Adriatic Sea but also offers an inviting atmosphere enhanced by seasonal floral decorations on each table. The service here is exceptional, with staff who go above and beyond to make your dining experience memorable—like remembering your preferences from previous visits!
What a fabulous place to eat & drink - it's worth visiting just for the tenderloin steak!! Zoran was our waiter and helped us enormously with the menu, extremely polite and friendly throughout our visit to this lovely restaurant. Great food, great staff, great view, great for people watching! We will definitely be returning next time we are in Split. Prices were very reasonable for such a prime location, and cheaper than we found elsewhere in the old town.

Bajamonti was a pleasant surprise indeed. The food was delicious - we went for the seabass for 2 and the monkfish. My girls had the margerita pizza which they cleaned off quickly. Service was lovely and they even kindly re-seated us outside once the rain had stopped at my request. Nothing seemed to be a bother and our waiter was fantastic. He filleted the fish in style and ensured we were comfortable. The atmosphere in the square was truly lovely and lively, whilst not being too loud serving a pleasant environment to dine in. I would highly recommend a visit here!

The food was great we ordered two pizzas and some burgers. It was delicious, juicy and savory. Joseph (our waiter) is an AMAZING waiter. He was attentive, personable, and funny. He provided amazing service and made the whole dining experience an enjoyable one. Absolutely ask for him when you dine here! Could not recommend enough!!!

We had a wonderful lunch here. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I am a coeliac and I need to eat gluten free, which was clearly indicated on the menu and there were a number of options for me. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The service was impeccable, as was the setting and the ambience. (They even laughed at my husband's jokes 😄). I would certainly recommend you check out this restaurant if you are ever in Split, Croatia. Thank you to the three, wonderful, staff members who served us 😊. The price I selected included a very tasty bottle of wine.

Our first night in Split and we were looking for something simple and easy. These folks absolutely hit it out of the park. The wife had what basically in America would be a calzone, and I had a cheese pizza added prosciutto, and both of them were absolutely fantastic! Homemade pizza crust garlic bread was fantastic as well. Had a couple of drinks and the bill was quite reasonable! Highly highly recommend, oh yeah, the view and setting is spectacular as well.

Very nice restaurant with breathtaking view! Super cool they have tables outside because you can enjoy the view. The lobster was perfect - homemade koculanski makaruni was also super tasty! Fish stew was quite low- lack of taste, lots of bones in fish and lack of spices - honestly the dish quite average. But in general, I recommend this restaurant. Staff was super friendly and polite

The food was perfect. There was live music all the time and it had such a great atmosphere. Our waiter, Božo, was the best, both me and my friend asked for recommendations and he didn't miss. I really liked the burger and the lamb. All desserts tasted amazingly and a very pleasent experience overall.😀

Šug Restaurant, located in Split, is a bright and elegant eatery that serves modern Dalmatian cuisine with a touch of innovation. The restaurant was established by two young chefs who drew inspiration from their childhood experiences on the islands. Their menu features traditional recipes prepared with fresh local ingredients. Šug has gained recognition from the Michelin guide, earning a Bib Gourmand rating for its excellent quality and value.
We loved this place. They for sure deserve to get one Michelin star. Top notch service by Antonella and Bodjo (?). We ordered the excellent steak tartar, then the veal risotto, which I so much wanted to take one home.. my wife had the tuna. The star of the night was the traditional split dessert called Snenokle.. we found the recipe online and we will try to make it back at home.

We did the chef's choice 3 course menu with wine pairing at Sug, and it was very good. The wine pairing was fabulous, and the service attentive. However, the portions were enormous (and I can eat a lot!). It's was more like two mains than a main and a starter. If I returned, I would just do the normal menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Louise W — Google review
Perfection at a reasonable price. For antipasti, we had a white fish carpaccio wrapped around sweet rice which was delicious. Then we had squid ink risotto and creamy prawn pasta, both of which were divine. Good wine and attentive service as well. Some reviews say that this is a very fancy fine-dining place, but don’t let it put you off - the vibe is definitely nice but it’s also not very formal. You will feel at home as all the waiters are very friendly.

Everything was exceptional. We did the tasting menu with two oysters added. It was more than worth it. We were blown away with the food and services. 10/10 I can’t pick our favorite dish because they were all phenomenal. A must try

Food is good. The sword fish is the best - very fresh and flavourful. Octopus is fresh. Shrimp pasta isn’t as impressive as what others mentioned. Smoked risotto is average. However, the service is really bad. The waiters are very inattentive and chatting among themselves. We needed to keep waiting for the menu and water at the beginning and when we wanted to order, even when we sat at the middle of the restaurant just facing them.
Angel X — Google review
Went to this place with my wife, as a recommendation from a local, and it was the best decision! We had the duck and the octopus, both were extremely delicious! Shrimp pasta as appetizer was really generous and incredible tasty. Wines are good as well. Don't hesitate about asking for the tiramisu as dessert!
Walter P — Google review
The venison stew was great with tender meat and soft gnocchi, but the grilled octopus dish was a bit mismatched. The octopus itself was very good, but it was served with raw tomatoes, pickled onions, baked/fried potatoes, and a gravy none of which really complemented each other well. Service was great and the space was nice.
Brandon K — Google review
We had a table reserved for 8:00 PM, but we arrived an hour and a half earlier — luckily, that wasn’t a problem at all, as the staff kindly found us a spot right away. We happened to come during the restaurant’s Steak Weekend, which offered a special selection of steaks. The food was excellent — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was fast and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We really enjoyed our evening here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and friendly service.

Konoba Kod Joze is a local gem in Split's Old Town, offering a wide range of dishes from affordable local cuisine to exquisite seafood. With over three decades of history, this charming tavern continues to attract both locals and tourists seeking an authentic dining experience. Additionally, it is conveniently located near Bacvice beach and the popular wine shop Terra. For those craving fresh fish and seafood, Konoba Nikola in Stobrec comes highly recommended for its quality ingredients and extensive wine selection.
We had a very enjoyable dinner here recently on our visit to split. It was a nice atmosphere sitting outdoors and the service was very friendly and hospitable. Our waiter was able to give us some good recommendations and the food was very good.
Andrew K — Google review
This was recommended by a local, and I have to agree with all the previous comments. The service isn't great and the staff tend to be a bit rude, but if you have patience and wait, you'll get some help and a delicious meal. We waited about an hour on a Friday night (and were first told it was impossible to get a table), and we weren't disappointed. Ask for local dishes and eat what they recommend! The creamy fettuccine pasta was our fave.
Rebecca C — Google review
Great spot, had it recommended on a tour. You MUST book a reservation to get in or get lucky. The zuchinni, shimp gnocci was absolutely amazing and highly recommended. We just ordered a few dishes and Split (pun intended) and with all things here the portions are great sizes. Nice atmosphere and good service, don't forget to tip, they will remind you at the end. Great time we had and an attentive server that gave us some good choices to pick from

Hidden gem in Split! The food is down-to-earth delicious. We tried the pašticada — the meat was incredibly tender, and the gnocchi had that perfect QQ bite, almost like boba in milk tea. We also had grilled monkfish (grdobina pršutom i prilog). The texture of the monkfish was so unique and tasty, it really brightened up our meal. Definitely worth a visit! As for the service — if you’re expecting fine dining, this might not be for you. The staff are quick, focused, and just get the job done. Personally, I think that’s another type of charm of this place.
Tiko C — Google review
The restaurant has a rustic vibe and serves authentic food! I absolutely loved the Pašticada with gnocchi, which I believe is one of their signature dishes. It was an amazing experience! They also offer the best house red wine from a fishing island called Vis. The wine has a deep, gorgeous red color and a full body, with no bitterness or dryness in the aftertaste. We were even treated to two complimentary 2 shots of liquid/alcohol, though I'm not sure what it was. It tasted great! I highly recommend making a reservation, as they tend to book up quickly!

2 visits now to this local konoba. Great food, atmosphere, reasonable prices. Mix of locals and tourists. The pašticada, the black rice and especially the monkfish were all excellent! Well worth a visit!
Yufbin H — Google review
Lovely meal, great atmosphere to the place and only just outside old town. Had the ham and cheese plate for starters, they brought out bread for the meal. Risotto and Pasticada as our mains - both lovely and rich, the seafood in the risotto cooked perfectly and the Pasticada being slow cook beef in a casserole-type sauce. All delicious.

This place is legit. The food is so good. Far better food and better priced compared with tourist traps in the middle of old town. Yes the staff may appear a little gruff at first, but they are professional and will be more than happy to give you their recommendations if you ask.

Konoba Stare Grede is a great restaurant that offers delicious food at very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and the place is well decorated. Overall, it's a great place to eat in Split!
Absolutely loved eating here. The outside of the restaurant doesn't do the inside the justice that it deserves. We had read in some reviews that the portion sizes were large and so the three of us shared some cold meat cuts and an octopus salad as a starter. The meat was excellent as was the very tender octopus. Our mains consisted of a mixed grill, veal escalope and pašticada, along with salads and potatoes. The gorgonzola sauce was an excellent accompliment to the veal, while the gnocchi and traditional sauce on the beef stew made this the stand out dish. We ended the meal with locally-made shots, on the house, and an extremely reasonable bill. I can see why other reviews praise the Konoba Stare Grede so much. I, too, can definitely recommend this family-style restaurant to anyone looking for good local food at a reasonable price.
Richard W — Google review
Great place to have a nice food. I had tuna steak and it was great. One person from our party had a Beef Steak, and he was very satisfied. It was 300 grams. So more than in the other places. Fish soup was also very, very delicious. A person eating octopus salad was also satisfied. Price was surprisingly affordable for all that we ate.

We visited on our last day in Split as wanted to try traditional Croatian cuisine. The place was clean and smelled of freshly cooked food. Grilled sea bass with baker's potatoes was delicious. Although traditional pesticiada with beef was not available, my friend decided to go for a tuna steak option of this dish, served with traditional gnocchi and rich sauce. The portions were generous and we enjoyed our meal. Well worth it, as the bill was very reasonable in compare to other places to eat closer to Riva and centre. Must try when in Split🙂👍

Wow! The staff managed to squeeze in our party of 6 without reservation, and we're so glad they did. The food was outstanding: perfectly cooked meats, fish, and sides to accompany them. Ice cream shop
Sladoledarnica Emiliana in Split is a popular spot known for serving some of the best ice cream in the area. Despite being a budget-friendly option, it attracts long queues due to its exceptional quality and unique flavors. The gelateria offers a variety of options, including pistachio and cheesecake flavors. While cash is the only accepted payment method, visitors can enjoy watching the staff prepare freshly made gelato.
I visited this ice cream bar every single day during my stay in Split - and for good reason! The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, making each visit a pleasure. The selection of flavors is amazing, with something for everyone, including standout options like rich dark and creamy white Dubai chocolate. The ice cream itself is beyond delicious - smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality. Even when there’s a queue (which just shows how popular it is!), it moves quickly and efficiently. And trust me, it’s totally worth the wait. Hands down, this is the best ice cream spot in all of Split. Don’t miss it!
Patricia G — Google review
Emiliana is a definite recommendation. Attention! Emiliana has two entrances in the same building, but the original one is the one located opposite the round glass liquor shop. The owner is incredibly welcoming, and the gelato is absolutely delicious. From our very first visit, we knew a new tradition was born — throughout our vacation, we went there every evening to try new flavors.
Elena Q — Google review
One of best ice creams of my life! We visited Emiliana every evening for 3 days in a row! All the flavours we had were sooooo good! Bitter chocolate was my personal favourite. We were amazed by the elastic texture and even the temperature was great, we didn't feel our mouth numb or "frozen". Staff was very friendly and kind. We would come back to Split only for this ice cream! 🤤😜 😍

**THERE ARE TWO BACK-TO-BACK STORES WITH THIS NAME, THE NORTHERN-MOST ONE NEAR WC IS THE BEST** Without a doubt the best gelato we had during a week in Split. The other stores have nice gelato and nothing to complain about, but this was a show stopper. Super creamy, dense and rich. I was offered tastings for a couple flavours (which was not the case for any other store) and the ones I tried were so rich and delicious. On different days, I tried the biscuit ball(?), pistachio, and almond cherry(?) [can't remember exact names] and they were all amazing. Each time, I received a little wafer in the cup, again unlike any of the other stores.

I’ve been staying in the city for 2 weeks now and I’ve gotten fresh bread, croissants, and donuts almost every single day. The staff has always been kind and helpful to me and the pastries are the best croissants I’ve had in split. I’ve tried multiple different breads from them and they’ve always been tasty. I’ve gone primarily in the morning so I can’t speak for the freshness towards the end of the day but I would recommend this bakery to everyone.

No food. Service was lacking but also made you feel at ease. Ordered 2 fantastic and got 2 differant types... never seen that before. Went to order another drink to be told they had closed. It would have been nice to have been told, but no problem, plenty of surrounding places are still serving. Shame has loads of potential but badly ran. A drink was a drink, so it was what it was, but if you're looking for somewhere with a bit of something... this isn't your place.

Pub
Pub Plan B is a popular spot in the Gripe neighborhood, situated near the Gripe Fortress. It's known for its wide selection of beers, including both standard and craft varieties. The pub also offers a range of classic pub food such as burgers, pizzas, wraps, and barbecued chicken wings. The venue is located within the Gripe sports complex and is favored by locals.
Came here on a very busy Sunday so we were lucky to get a table outside. They have heaters so it’s not too cold in March sitting outside. The service was a little erratic but that’s only because it was so incredibly busy with every table filled. We had the ribs and the chicken wings. The onion rings were super tasty and the wings were good, a little too much orange sauce for me so I would ask for it on the side next time. Ribs were also delicious but again too much sauce for me. Next time I will try their burgers and pizza as they looked really good. They have Pepsi Max instead of Coke Zero which is a welcome change. The menu here is a tick list for your order, half is in English and the other half you’ll need to google translate. Great atmosphere here, paid with card with no problem. Will come back on a less busy day to compare.

Hey :) We had a great dinner at Plan B with our group of friends. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. One thing that surprised us was the way of ordering – you get a paper and a pen and simply circle what you want. It felt like a little throwback to the past, but honestly, it was kind of fun and unique. As tourists from Prague, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we could order Staropramen beer – and it was great! A little taste of home made the evening even better. All the dishes we tried were really tasty, and everyone was happy with their meal. The only downside was that we couldn’t pay separately by card, which was a bit inconvenient as we were hoping to split the bill. I understand that it’s probably easier for groups to have one person pay, but still, it would have been nice to have the option. Overall, we’re giving it 5 stars because the food was excellent, and the small issues were just minor details. Definitely worth a visit! Greetings from the group from Prague 🇨🇿

Great place. Feeling of a local gastropub with fantastic upbeat atmosphere and mouthwatering food. Some tables are a bit cramped but they have seating outside which is fantastic for smokers and still great atmosphere. Highly recommend
Liliana B — Google review
The food is good but very basic. Service depends on the waiter/waitress. We got very rude one. He/she didn't even bother to bring us the drinks that we order. Atmosphere here is very pleasant.

Really tasty, juicy burgers with a variety of toppings available. I had three "mini burgers", which to be fair could stand alone as a full size burger in their own right. Buns were fresh, patties cooked perfectly, and toppings just right. We ordered fries each and onion rings to share, but I think one portion of fries could do 2-3 people easily. You order by filling out a little menu slip for your desired food items, which is a bit of a gimmick but I quite liked it. Choose what you want to order in your own time, cross out any ingredients you don't like, and the food came out in a timely manner taking into account our edit requests. Service was friendly and quick, but we didn't receive any napkins or sauces for our meal (which was needed) like other tables did.

We had a great time here and a very delicious food. The Service was so friendly. We had Pizza , Avocado and Veggie Salat and Fries with truffles. It was soooo good ☺️ Of course we will come back ☺️
Tabea B — Google review
Ordered mini burgers which were awesome! Only con is that the service was a little bit slow and had to wait beers for a quite long time. But we were satisfied, would recommend.

Busy place at lunch time. Login waiting but definetely worth IT. Great bao bao and Perfect rubs. Full of local people.

Restaurant
In Croatia, particularly in the scenic Croatian islands, vegan cuisine has found a thriving presence alongside the country's rich culinary heritage. The restaurant 'Veg' is a medium-sized vegetarian eatery located near the Croatian National Theater in Old Town. It offers a diverse range of vegetarian dishes with inspiration from global cuisines and plenty of vegan options. Their specialty includes delicious vegan burgers served on soft wholemeal flour buns with various veggie patty options.
Food was super tasty and it arrived fast. It's cute place for quick lunch with friends. Atmosphere is cozy. Burger is amazing and don't skip on sweet potato fries. I forgot the name of other meal that we had but it was great too. Trust me, try their cheesecake 🫣👌 Waitress was super polite and i was so sad when I've realized that i totally forgot to tip her 😢 But i hope that I'll visit Split and this place again and correct my mistake. All in all totally worth our visit and I'll come back for sure 😊

Nice place with friendly waiter. The food arrived fast and was nicely presented. Smoothies were good, my friend enjoyed the tort. We had the Game changer dish, it was our favourite one. And the Kitchen favorite, I liked it but I prefer dressing with more flavour. The chocolate cookie was delicious! It's so great to have an 100% vegan restaurant and so many options, thanks ☺️ Negative point was the music, too loud for us, and party songs for lunch wasn't the best
Helene A — Google review
Great vegan spot! You’re bound to pass by if you spend any time in the old town, it’s got a great location and you can’t miss it. Small menu but everything is a hit. We did dinner and lunch there so we got to try a little bit of everything, they have a rotating dessert selection in the case inside as well, and i thought the coffee was fantastic. Great people watching from the terrace seating, you’re kind of right in the thick of everything so you’re sure to see something funny happen, of course lots of cats and dogs walking by etc. the employees were really nice and i had a great time here. Salute to them for doing some really interesting and unique concepts with their vegan food - sushi burritos, vegan quiche, really good and unique takes here, all of which are delicious.
Justin — Google review
This place is really nice for vegetarians as they have a wide variety of food options. We ordered the Curry bowl and Kitchen's Fav Salad bowl along with the sweet potato fries. The portion size was sufficient for these dishes and taste was decent. The service was good. It is at a 5 minutes walk from the Diocletian's Palace. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Neha S — Google review
Loved this place, simple no fuss menu, staff are lovely, well priced and 70% of the menu is also gluten free. We liked it so much we came back the next evening to eat here. The staff were fabulous and we generally felt no one was hurrying us to leave (seems to be a thing). Would really recommend this place, small and very quick but no rush, kind of the perfect place to sit in the evening and enjoy a natter with a friend.
Hugo F — Google review
Sushi roll and sweet potato fries were really delicious. The filling of the burrito was good but I didn't like the taste of the bread. It could have more sauce as it felt a lil dry. A lil too expensive for the quantity they offer.
Sumedha M — Google review
Love the place! Quite cosy, close to the main street, bowl was super tasty! Maybe a bit pricey but it's work it! Note: everything is vegan, no normal milk and stuff. I used it also a place for work, the internet is stable and quite decent for working!
Dawid R — Google review
Excellent food, very tasty, someone who likes to cook works in the kitchen, the stuff was very kind, they tried very hard to present in detail what is in which food, but the cake was the best in the world! Warm recommendations.

Funky George Streetfood & Craft is a popular fast food restaurant in the city of Split, Croatia. Specializing in sandwiches made with tender, cooked chicken and pork, Funky George is perfect for after a night out drinking or an active afternoon climbing Marjan Hill. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. With actual beer on offer, Funky George is a great place to stop for a bite on your way home from work or weekend errands.
This is a fantastic spot to have a beer or grab a bite to eat—I highly recommend it! During my few days in Split, I liked it so much that I ended up going three times. The prices are great, and the food is absolutely delicious. It’s clear that this place is both a local favorite and a hit among tourists, which says a lot about its quality and atmosphere. The seating area is super comfortable, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It’s also a great place to socialize and meet new people, as it’s located in a lively area where lots of people pass by. The energy here is always positive, with everyone in a great mood, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're looking for a casual drink or a tasty meal, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Hidden Gem in Split – Funky George Pub If you're looking for a laid-back spot with excellent drinks and great vibes in Split, Funky George Pub is a must-visit. The bartenders here are top-notch, bringing not only skill but also a friendly, engaging energy that makes the experience feel personal. They know their craft and mix up some of the best cocktails in town – whether you're in the mood for something classic or a creative twist, they’ve got you covered. But it's not just about the drinks. The Philly cheesesteak sandwiches here are a revelation. Made to order with fresh ingredients, they’re the perfect bite to complement your drink. Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, these sandwiches will leave you coming back for more. The overall vibe is relaxed but full of energy – a great place to unwind with friends or meet new ones. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, Funky George is an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good food, great cocktails in Split!
MyVisit M — Google review
I've only ever ordered drinks here and it's been fantastic. The prices are reasonable and the bartenders are friendly. Go for the local shots if you have a chance, they're shots of spirits that have been made locally! The honey and blackberry ones were delicious
Brandon L — Google review
After three days in Split, this was the biggest scam we encountered. The reason they make you pay in advance is because no one would ever agree to pay after seeing the pathetically tiny portion. €6 for butternut squash fries that consisted of about ten shavings of a butternut squash deep fried and incredibly oily and salty. Save you money, walk right on by.
Kiara — Google review
We ordered Big George and Phillysteak-Sandwich. Both sandwiches were amazingly tasty. We had to wait a while for the sandwiches to be ready which is okay because they are freshly made and the taste is worth waiting for. I liked the Big George more. But both were very good.
Jan G — Google review
Had a philly cheese steak and while not 100% proper it was very tasty and good! Bit expensive but quality makes it worth it. Fun little spot you should check out and enjoy!
Christopher S — Google review
Great find amongst the many cafes and food offerings, located neat the "core" section of Split. Fresh raw ground beef in large ball shapes, taken out and flattened on the grill, cooked with added salt, and topped with a special house sauce, pickles, onion, and lettuce... Great service, fresh and tasty.
Goodkine — Google review
I would rate the food 3.5 out of 5 – it was quite good and the food ordering process was quick and smooth. However, the overall experience was ruined by the service, especially on the drinks side. The setup is very confusing: you order food on one side of the building and drinks on the other. While ordering food was fast and efficient, getting a drink was a mess. First, I was told I could use an app to place my order. Then I found out the app is only for browsing the menu, not for ordering. After that, they said I could only pay by card, but later they said cash was fine too. The woman selling the drinks was casually drinking a beer and didn’t seem to know what was going on. Overall, the food is okay, but there are definitely better places out there. As for the drinks – I wouldn’t recommend To be fair, the rakija was very good – but despite that, I still wouldn’t recommend getting drinks here.

Dessert restaurant
Tradition Bakery is a well-established confectionery in town, renowned for its artisanal ice cream made fresh daily. It stands out as the oldest bakery still operating, offering an exquisite selection of treats. Unlike overrated touristic spots with long queues and mediocre gelato, this establishment guarantees superior quality desserts. Moreover, they excel in creating mouthwatering sandwiches prepared with love and care.
Sometimes in life, you get a piece of food that isn’t just a moment on the lips, it’s a memory for a lifetime. The succulent, soft, tender cinnamon bun from Tradicija was one of these memories, soft dough, warm vanilla creme running through and hints of cinnamon. Some may say Diocletian’s palace is the highlight of Split, I’d care to disagree.

Holy delicious!!!! Freshly made!!! Melt in your mouth fantastic! Spoil yourself, come in and enjoy!!

This was recommended by a local for having the best traditional pastries. We arrived a bit late (after 1pm) so there weren't many options, but what we got were delicious. Our fave was the cherry pie!
Rebecca C — Google review
The cinnamon roll is incredibly light and delicious! I also brought home some homemade biscuits. I have already snacked on a few, and they taste great without being overly sweet. They're perfect for a cup of dark tea!
Mr H — Google review
Beautiful bakery which has operated for decades selling traditional Croatian biscuits and pastries. Everything is homemade and it really shows! We particularly adored the Dalmatian rafiol biscuits and the cherry pies. The staff were also very kind.
Kiara H — Google review
We arrived at 8:30 am and the pastries were still warm from the oven! This is the real deal. Homemade cinnamon rolls and strudel! We met a guy who walked 5 km just to go to this bakery. Easy to pass up because it is rather small but huge flavor!
Rose B — Google review
Price is great especially for a tourist areas! Delicious traditional pastries and friendly service. Cinnamon rolls look soft and delicious. Kremšnita looks wonderful. If they served coffee ☕ it would be perfect.
Mike M — Google review
A mega delicious sandwich store. Lots of sweets but baked with love. We had a cinnamon roll and chocolate roll. The cinnamon bun was even still warm and with delicious cream inside. The chocolate sandwich took a while for the chocolate to come out but after that it was also a nice sandwich.Besides sandwiches they also sell ice cream but we didn't try that. The staff were two older ladies who lovingly sold and baked the sandwiches. With hand gestures and some English words we took our sandwiches. Definitely going here to get a sweet snack.
