Night club
Central the Club is a popular nightlife spot situated in the heart of Split, just outside the Diocletians palace. With a capacity for around 1000 people, it features three VIP zones on two floors, four bars, and a dance floor facing the DJ booth. The club's exclusive ambiance is accentuated by its stylish interior design. Additionally, there's an option to enjoy a special VIP zone behind the DJ booth for an elevated experience.
Honestly this place was a vibe. The DJ absolutely killed it and was playing 2010s American bangers. It’s very crowded but you can still make space to dance. Opens at midnight and line was down the block at 12:30, but moved relatively quickly (probably 15-20 min). Other reviews have complained about: 1) ratio 2) age of crowd 3) cover/paying 1. It was definitely more dudes overall (as is pretty much any club) but the ratio was fine and by no means just guys 2. Crowd is definitely young but there was a mix of older groups in there 3. Cover is €30 cash. There’s ATMs outside. Other reviews have complained about being charged cash for drinks but every time I got drinks they let me use a card (although maybe it was just because I was buying expensive drinks) As with any younger European club you have your fair share of super drunk young guys acting weird/creepy, but they have a ton of security and there’s a decent amount of Americans so it didn’t feel unsafe.
Maddy A — Google review
Nice club, the music was very good. I went on Tuesday and they played some house stuff, it was amazing. 30€ the entrance, not cheap but worth it. Maybe the only problem was the crowd inside…too many people. Don’t go inside of the crowd, impossible to dance or just move.
Michael P — Google review
It’s aight, albeit a bit crowded, just your regular club experience. There were a couple drunken jocks looking for nothing but trouble but also many cool girls and guys you could dance and vibe with. Overall if you have nothing to do you can go there. Entrance was 10 euro and 10 for a beer so you will probably spend 30 euros for the evening.
Woj — Google review
Overall staff nice and entrance was only €10 which was nice since we were expecting 30. I will say the only reason for 3 stars is because the music is trashy American music. Being from America It’s funny to see people dancing to the cringiest 2010 songs. Play some techno or actual house😭😭good crowd tho it’s just the music is terrible for anyone who is coming from USA you will be disappointed if you were looking for good music

I was beaten up badly and thrown out by the bouncers on Friday night. It was not fully unprovoked which I admit, but the chap I had a problem with kept saying I told you not to touch me. I was held by my throat and then dragged like a dog and badly kicked and beaten. This was not needed and my neck and my ribs hurt. I am pretty sure I was punished for having a disagreement with a local person rather than just someone where the chap was walking with me the whole way till the outside very casually and the bouncers let him and then when I was outside the chap kept telling me I told you, I told you. Bouncers threw me on the street and didn’t even allow me to ask why.
Himanshu R — Google review
Average club, the tables were empty on a Friday night but the music was the best part, suggest taking a standing table instead
Ayushman P — Google review
This happened on the night of August 19th to 20th, 2025. We were heading back home with a friend, and outside Central Club (not the one we were in), there was a security guard arguing with a group of girls. The situation seemed a bit strange, so we asked the girls if they were okay. They said no, so we acted like we knew them. The guy started threatening us, saying he was security and that it wasn’t our business, etc. We managed to make him let go of the girl he was holding aggressively and walk away. Then he started insulting us, telling us to come fight and calling us p**. We spoke to her a little further away. Apparently, the guy tried to take advantage of her by luring her into a room in the club. The poor girl was in shock. We spent quite some time reassuring her. I just wanted to share this story because the guy is a potential rapist. Please be careful

Best club in split, amazing service. Special thanks to ivan for making sure everything was set for us. The bouncers did an amazing job, making sure no problems happened and dealing with unfitted people in a very suitable way.

Disco club
Vanilla Club is a renowned hotspot in Split, known for its vibrant party scene and lively atmosphere. Situated near the historic center and behind the Poljud stadium, it has become a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The club boasts a large public swimming pool with captivating lighting effects, creating an ideal setting for summer extravaganzas and annual yachting parties. With multiple bars, including one that revolves, Vanilla seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces.
The club feels so safe (from a girls perspective) but is also the most fun club in Split. The deal for unlimited drinks at crozzies/vanilla is amazing. They also have a very welcoming environment and the staff r extremely kind + the bartending is great. I personally always loved the music as someone who loves the dance floor. Some nights the crowd is worse than others - but that’s a people thing in split not an issue with the club. Can’t recommend enough - went 5 nights in a row because of how fun it was!!!
Angie M — Google review
Such a fun night out. We felt safe the entire time and had so much fun we went back 4 times! Drinks were good and quickly served, and the music was consistently good. Club felt full but not suffocating, and the crowd was really fun, mostly young tourists. Vanilla has become one of our absolute favorites, and I can’t wait to go back!
Katie W — Google review
The bouncer in the photo is completely unprofessional. My four friends and I (males, 21–23) bought tickets for the all-you-can-drink party on Saturday, August 16. At around 11 p.m., one of my friends needed to use an ATM, so he left the club, expecting that he would be able to return since he already had a bracelet proving he had paid for a ticket. To his shock, when he came back, this particular bouncer told him that he was not allowed to enter and had to stand back in line as if he hadn’t already paid. Other bouncers wanted to let him in, since he had a bracelet, but the bouncer in the photo didn’t allow it. Since my friend had been missing for a while, I decided to go look for him. Before leaving the club, I asked another bouncer if I would be able to return since I also had a bracelet. He confirmed that I could. After I found my friend, we were both denied entry by the same bouncer. Even though his colleague had promised to let me back in, and we showed our bracelets proving we had already paid, we were still unexplainably refused entry. This happened around 12:50 a.m. on August 17. The bouncer behaved very rudely, saying we couldn’t enter simply because he “decided so.” He was acting extremely unprofessional. In the end, we had to spend 30 minutes waiting in line with people who hadn’t even bought tickets. This behaviour is unacceptable. Staff should treat guests respectfully and professionally. Fire him immediately because Vanilla is losing customers.

I went to this club last night with a group of seven French friends, all around 20 years old. We spent on average €150 per person, but the experience was extremely disappointing and even violent. First, the men’s restroom was locked. When we tried to go in, the bouncer came out angry and shouted “shut up” in English before slapping me hard in the face and slamming the door. Later, we finally managed to enter the bathroom. Someone who wasn’t part of our group asked, “Are there any French people here?” We replied and started singing our national anthem, just for fun. The same bouncer stormed back in, yelling in Croatian, and without asking any questions or trying to understand the situation, he targeted me again. He slapped me three more times in the face and punched me in the stomach. This is unacceptable behavior. We came to have fun and enjoy the night like any other tourists. Instead, we were assaulted for no reason. The bouncer didn’t try to identify anyone responsible — he just took out his anger on a random French guest. I absolutely do not recommend this place. If you’re a tourist, especially French, be very caref
Enzo D — Google review
3.5⭐️/5 Entry was 15€, drinks start at 6€, shots at 4€. The bouncers let pretty much everyone in. Music was mainly USA-oriented, not as much Latina music as we’d hoped. The vibes were pretty cool tho
Louise J — Google review
Very mean to tourists, both the personal and the locals. The DJ was so bad that I was wondering if they just took a random homeless guy from the street and let him play. Wouldn’t recommend this club if you’re looking for a good night out.
Bram L — Google review
Very good club in Split. A bit of a walk away from the main centre so be prepared to walk 25/30 minutes or just catch an uber. Music is good, drinks are very reasonably priced. Usually the end of a bar crawl.
L S — Google review
The wait in line was over an hour long (not really the club's fault but it is annoying), the security is rude, one started pushing a big group of people atleast twice, all security is like 195cm tall and really strong and when they pushed people like 20 people almost all fell, at the same time he cursed at them (since I speak croatian I know what he said). Another security screamed at people to move near the exit, I don't know if he physically pushed them, probably yes. I undestand foreigners can be extremely difficult to deal with but that is not the professional or in any way a decent way the entrance fee is 15 euro which is not really expensive, the drinks are actually not that expensive, but it their quality is debatable. the staff at bar were alright, nothing to complain about The biggest problem after waiting 1h+ and rude staff is the music itself. poor song selection overall with some exceptions, the remixes were mid at best. Weird transitions and beat drops. if the music was better the atmosphere would be so much better and all the hassle, wait and rudeness could have been forgiven. Even tho I'm croatian i prefer pop over our songs, I was very disappointed. The club was really crowded, barely able to move until like 3am when it started to clear out a bit. There is an open air section but there is literally nothing happening there, literal silence and people coming out to breathe from the heat inside. That's a big missed opportunity imo I don't recommend this club, just simply did not have a good time there. I was in one of the best clubs in Europe, their professionalism, smoothness in operation, atmosphere, quality of music blew me away. Even had more space for dancing there at peak hours than at Vanilla. There I had an absolute blast so I will always compare any future clubs to that, and Vanilla doesn't compare at all.

Outdoor Activities
Bacvice Beach in Split, Croatia is a popular destination known for its sandy shore and shallow waters, attracting sunbathers and swimmers alike. The area also offers various dining options such as Caffe-restoran Dvor, Konoba MATONI, and Taboo Beach Bar. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions like Emperor Diocletian's Palace, Sustipan, and Klis Fortress.
A beautiful beach to swim at. If you want to stay on shore it gets full, but there is a huge amount of space in the water at all depths. The beach is sandy so easy to get into and no pain for the feet. As per all Split beaches there are no life guards, but no riptide either. People do jump off the rocks at one end, but note I saw a boy fall and taken to hospital. So be careful.
Antony C — Google review
Our favourite sand beach in Split. Quite crowded but great for families with children (shallow waters). Perfectly refreshing and easy walk to or from the oldtown. Parking available nearby, but can be crowded in the summer / high season. Also, across the street there's another playground for the kids.
Fredrica B — Google review
The beach is very dirty - covered in graffiti, and smelt strongly of urine. The only reason to give two stars is that any coastal view in croatia is pretty. But you're better off sat by the harbour or going elsewhere (like to one of the islands).
Lucie P — Google review
We went early in the morning to avoid the crowds and bring our own coffee just to enjoy the sound of the waves. Black beautiful sandy beach. Showers and shops/bar around. Safe shallow water level and good for family with small children. <3
SYLVIA N — Google review
Was nice that the beach is sand not pebbles but the beaches further around by Marjan are prettier. We arrived pretty early so had plenty of spots to choose from. I imagine it gets packed in the height of summer. There is a cafe/ bar if that's what you're after. There was a changing area and loungers and umbrellas for hire
Rachael T — Google review
The beach is okay, not super pretty but it has sand. It was crowded of course but that’s expected during the high season, there is still enough space to sit and swim. You can rent just a parasol for 15EUR and a bed for 10EUR. A bit expensive but cheaper compared to other beaches in Split. There is a cafe with toilet, the prices of the drinks were reasonable. And a few snack bars just before entering the beach.
Alexandra G — Google review
Sand beach with clear water. The sandy part is a little crowded, but there are stone places with banks where you can enter the sea by stairs. Not many facilities, so bringing your own food and drinks is wise
Irmak Y — Google review
Nothing special. This beach is often frequented by many persons cause is very close to the main center of split, but i don’t really think there’s something related to the quality. The water is bad comparing to other places around the city, and the sand too. I had a bath in the other side on the rock walk as i saw other people do the same

Academia Club Ghetto (AGC) is a popular bar in Split, known for its artistic decor, bohemian ambiance, and great music that draws in a mix of locals and travelers. Situated on the bustling Dosud passageway, this spot features a serene courtyard, a cozy bar leading to a mural-adorned main room, and an upstairs gallery that opens for special events.
We came upon this place while searching for live music, and it did not disappoint! There was a $10 cover, but it got you a shot of your choosing. Our server was amazing and never kept our glasses empty! The live band was incredible and we had a lovely evening.
Melissa — Google review
The place was quite full at the moment of arriving but the vibe was amazing. People were singing and dancing to the cool rock songs of the musician. There is table service but I would recommend picking your drinks from the bar since the drinks we ordered arrived almost 20 minutes after we ordered them. Drink prices are quite high for a place with a more chill vibe. The location is quite special but too expensive.
Nicolás A — Google review
Very quiet on Sunday night. But we enjoyed the free nice live Jazz & Blues music upstairs.
Y.H. C — Google review
Opened since mid 90ties, ghetto remains the heart of Split alternative music and performance scene that blends a mix of gorgeous old town terrace vibe and contemporary alternative hang out. The staff is always welcoming and the atmosphere fantastic. A must visit place for anyone looking for an authentic Split alternative experience or just a nice evening out with live music and a great atmosphere
Veljko P — Google review
I met a couple of friends for a 15 min chat and ordered a small sparkling water as i was about to go for a drive. 4€ ! Small water. I had told a group of local friends to meet me there and say hi before i leave and maybe stay for the concert which was about to start, I told them not to come after i saw the bill. Prices are more acceptable on fancy cafés by the sea than in this venue that used to be alternative and for locals. Sorry to my musician friends who perform there, I'm not supporting this anymore. Oh, and there was no paper in the toilets, and guests hadn't even arrived yet.
MD T — Google review
I 100% recommend this bar. The atmosphere was incredible. Not only the waitress and the bartender, also the other customers and the band’s musicians made my nights in Split unforgettable. The great thing is that every night was different, we listened to jazz, tango, and electronic music. A beautiful experience :)
Milagros F — Google review
Ghetto is a very special place. You will find a very curated musical scene, diverse and interesting. The atmosphere is very cool. Another great thing is that they have artistic activities the whole year. During summer you can enjoy the patio with live music and nice drinks Definitely is a place to visit if you are going to Split.

Very nice atmosphere and the garden. Nice service, the bartender helped us to pick great beers (even the one that doesn’t taste like beer as i wanted it😆) very nice ambient and you can also socialize there. It’s not easy to find and not a lot of people know about it so it’s less touristy and not really overpriced. 10/10 recommended

Pub
Restaurant
Located on the ground floor of a prominent nineteenth-century residential palace in Split, Fabrique Pub is a popular hotspot for social gatherings. The pub boasts one of the largest interiors in town, featuring tasteful industrial-style decor. It offers an extensive selection of international beers, signature cocktails, and a wide variety of gin and tonic options. During the day, it operates as a restaurant serving classic pub fare with a modern twist and Croatian influence.
Very nicely decorated restaurant. We were hot and tired from walking all morning so really enjoyed sitting inside in the cool air conditioning. Good menu of varied options to choose from. We got the 'Fabrique Burger' which was really good. Juicy meat with a great taste, loads of lovely smokey melted cheese, lots of small pieces of really crispy bacon and well cooked onions. Served in a really nice soft bun. Got a portion of sweet potato fries which was large and they were perfectly cooked and tasted great. Also got a portion of the roasted vegetables. In some places this can be a bit rubbish, but not here! Was a big bowl of perfectly cooked different vegetables (carrots, peppers, courgette, leeks, mushrooms) and was not only presented very well but the taste matched the look. Bit annoying they wouldn't serve tap water. Only the second place we've been too all week that wouldn't allow it. And a shame as the tap water here is so nice. Clearly a money making scheme as a small bottle of Sprite was 5.50! (The highest price we've seen) However, I got an iced latte which was amazing. And strangely at 4 euros cost less than a Sprite! Overall a lovely meal with very good service, in a great setting. Would highly recommend the food here.
Sam S — Google review
Cool venue with plenty of space and a great dark, moody vibe. There’s a DJ playing too, which adds to the atmosphere. We had the sharing platter, and it was definitely a lot of food—we were three people, ordered four portions, and it was more than enough (they packed up what we didn’t finish to take away). The sausage and the grains salad were the highlights. Bread was a bit dry, but overall, a solid experience.
Jennifer P — Google review
Walked into this pub on the street and it had decent reviews. Didn’t regret walking in the door. The layout of this place was very good and well thought out, plenty of big tables and enough room for everyone, I think the booths were a little low but mostly can’t fault the seating. The food is reasonably priced for the area which is good. The taste of the food was amazing, a lot of thought has been put into the taste and the flavours in each dish. Beer and drinks were also good. Highly recommend visiting this establishment if in the area of Split.
Claystevo1 — Google review
Visited Fabrique Pub on a Friday night and got a table within 10 minutes without a reservation. The place is spacious with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors – we chose outside, which was perfect for a date night. The Neapolitan-style Il Bastardo pizza was incredible, with amazing ingredients and flavour, and the pasta carbonara was equally great. The DJ kicked off around 10:30, making it a fantastic night out!

Superb Taste.. I had vegetarian pizza and Lava Cake. Both dishes were delicious. Cost wise I feel expensive, but it’s the same in other restaurants. Good ambience.

if you want a really good pizza we highly recommend it. One of the best we've ever had. The service is also very pleasant

I thought it was another touristic trap rest bar.. maybe it is 😅 but the pizza was REALLY GOOD the tomato pasta was fine but the carbonara was bad sorry about it.. Decent prices depends to the other restaurants

10/10! Prices low, service high. Food was an on spot match! The chicken was crispy outside and fluffy rose on the inside. Tasted like heaven! The potato salad was the exact perfect thing I needed on a hot evenning. Wine was delicious! Huge thx at the kitchen for making such an masterpiece! A special thx goes to my waiter Mr. Lucic Marink for a positive service experience! My next visit to Split I'm gonna be dining and drinking HERE from the beginning on! Recommendation 100%

Cafe
Nestled along the picturesque waterfront of Split, Coffee Bar St. Riva is a must-visit for anyone seeking stunning views and a vibrant atmosphere. Perched on the first-floor balcony, guests can enjoy breathtaking sights of the harbor and bustling Riva below. While it may not offer a full food menu, its extensive selection of cocktails, beers, wines, ciders, and spirits makes it an ideal spot to unwind after exploring Diocletian's Palace nearby.
This is definitely a tourist centric place. The lady who was our server was nice and friendly. We got some fries and some cold drinks since it was a very warm day. It was a little expensive, but considering the location, that was to be expected. The restrooms were nice and clean as well.
Johnny ( — Google review
Great location, very nice to sit here and enjoy the view but the food is not that special and kinda overpriced, which can be expected for a place at this location. The service was not so great. It was a while before we got served and afterwards the waiter told us we couldn’t split the bill (you can only pay with cash here). That was not so bad but then he said that we had to pay the exact amount because they didn’t have enough change money. This sounded like a lie seeing that we were there around 16:30 which means they had many costumers before us.
Nathi W — Google review
Perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere of the waterfront. Whether it’s a strong espresso or a refreshing cold drink, everything tastes better with the view of boats passing by and people strolling along the promenade. Relaxed vibe, great location, and the ideal place to soak in the charm of the area.

Terrible service, the waiter was aggressive with us. You order one thing, and they bring you what they want. When you politely point out that they made a mistake, they refuse to change it, and after not even touching the plate, they charge you for it
Roger S — Google review
Came for the day to Split and out of all the options of restaurants for a diabetic, I had the St Riva burger without the bun which was delicious, my complaint: asking for a huge glass of ice with tap water for a diabetic was told that THEY DON’T have tap water that I would have to buy a bottle at highway robbery prices! So I asked “how do you wash your dishes then? Replied, with warm water! Bring your own water bottle from the store or tisak! Food good, service for WATER needs improvement!

Stopped just for drinks. Priced reasonable for the location. Long island ice tea did not stint on the measures. Service was good. Table and seating area clean.
Julie B — Google review
Please save yourself the headache and stay away. Terrible, inattentive service. They got over half the drinks at our table incorrect and conveniently for them, they mistook them for more expensive drinks. We tried to order more drinks that just never came. They named a price for our bill without giving us a receipt, and when we objected they became aggressive. When we did get our receipt it was 15€ less than the amount we were originally told. It’s clear that they prey on tourists here and make up prices based on what they think they can get away with. Really disappointing and distasteful.

Lunch was good service from the young gentleman very good, went back for dinnerservice crap had to get up ask for a second beer many of the staff sitting at table having a break when cafe 90% full. No staff served us after reieving food, had to go to till to pay was told to find our waiter, obviously not for the locals ascthey think the tourists will only come once and dont need repeat business. Not good

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Diocletian's Palace, Charlie's Bar Split has become a legendary hotspot for backpackers and party enthusiasts alike. Founded by Croatian expats from Australia, this lively bar is closely linked with nearby hostels, making it a go-to destination for young travelers eager to socialize and connect with fellow adventurers. With its extended happy hours, themed parties, and an energetic atmosphere filled with laughter and dancing, Charlie's Bar offers an unforgettable experience.
This was my first time visiting Split and Charlie’s is the place to go for a night out! The drinks are affordable, great atmosphere, and the music is great!

Went with a large group of friends and unfortunately we did not have the fun time we were expecting. The mojito bucket wasn’t very tasty and the space was very limited. I would recommend for the vibes but would not stay there the entire night :(
Zara M — Google review
Too many people for a Wednesday. Drink prices are average. Entry is €10 per person. Ain't very cheap compared to Croatian prices. The music is pretty good, and there are a lot of young people here. I give a strong minus because this is the only free spot available. I tried to go toilet and people did hit on my head. Total catastrophe.

I have to give a one star unfortunately to this place because of mostly two people which put an end to our stay there. We were a large group of girls that had spent over 2h there and over 500 euros. Apparently we were no longer welcome because 2 people put their knees on the cushion seats. We had no prior warning and were automatically kicked out, we had just received a round of shots, that we did not take. We were polite excused ourselves, but apparently they do not give any warning. When spoking to the manager after, she did not do anything. This bar is poorly managed even though we met some nice staff. Very unfortunate... do not recommend (a side note the music is really not great, no flow and we couldn't here any of the songs) FYI: After they replied to the above comment the establishment went to google review to have my comment removed. I appealed this and my comment has been posted back. This is a very sneaky move from management. Would not trust this establishment.

The staff? Absolute legends. Their mixology skills are only matched by their warmth and charm. They’re part drink alchemists, part best friends you didn’t know you needed. From crafting bespoke frozen marvels to making you feel right at home, they turn every visit into an unforgettable chill-fest.
Sophie D — Google review
Completely sexist and rude staff. We watched a group of 15 girls queue up for this bar who barely look 18 years old, all were let in for FREE with NO ID checked (even though it’s now meant to be 21+) Me and my friends were then stopped by a very rude and angry bouncer who pulled a rope handrail out of the door and demanded us to pay 10 euro entry free and for all of us to show our ID’s. This was not a problem for us as we are all 22, but out of principle from watching the queue in front of us enter for no charge and how we was met with such rudeness - we decided to take our money elsewhere. Very disappointed as this was one of the places we wanted to visit as have heard good things, don’t believe the hype. If you don’t want to be disrespected and made feel unwelcome - i would recommend steering clear of this place.

A complete waste of time and money (10€ for entry fee) The place feels like artificially created chaos Mostly packed with teenagers, no real vibe or atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend.

Café & Restaurant Lvxor Split is situated in a prime location, opposite the square's steps and near historic landmarks such as Diocletian's Mausoleum and the Cathedral of St. Domnius. The bar is rumored to be one of the oldest in the city and takes its name from Luxor, Egypt. Its setting amidst palace pillars, ancient Egyptian sphinxes, and Roman-gothic columns creates an impressive ambiance.
It is absolutely unique restaurant specially in the evening. It is just outside Diokecijanove palace. It looked like like a Roman courtyard. In the evening they put pillows on the steps opposite restaurant. The big ancient pillars behind add to it's beauty. The food, service, weather and ambience was just too good. A great place for people watch while sipping your wine. It is little expensive but it deserves it. When you are in Split an evening meal should be a must in this beautiful restaurant.
Balkrishna S — Google review
We had such an incredible experience at Lvxor in Split! Tucked right in the heart of Diocletian’s Palace, the setting is absolutely magical, but what really stood out was the food and service. We ordered both pizza and pasta, and they were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff made the evening even better. They were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome without ever being intrusive. It’s rare to find a place that delivers equally on atmosphere, food, and service, but Lvxor does it flawlessly. If you’re in Split and want an unforgettable meal, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Unbeatable location near palace. Seats on cushions overlooking courtyard but we elected to sit inside in lovely airy two story room. Brunched on scrambled eggs on guacamole which was spicy and delicious although unrecognizable to someone from Oaxaca. Service good. Very relaxing way to start the day.

After a long day of walking around Split, we were tired and just wanted to stop for a beer before heading back to our hotel. We remembered this restaurant across from the cathedral, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a beer, but ended up ordering a pizza as well—and it turned out to be incredibly delicious. We finished with a wonderful dessert that was just as amazing. The service was great, and the place itself is charming. It was a perfect way to relax after a busy day. Highly recommend!

We had the most magical evening at this restaurant. The atmosphere was truly beautiful — live music filled the air, people were dancing outside, and the location couldn’t be more perfect, with a stunning view that made everything feel cinematic. The food was excellent: beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Krešo, was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole experience even more special. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming, which added to the charm of the night. It honestly felt like stepping into a movie — full of nostalgia, joy, and connection. An unforgettable evening, and a place we can’t wait to come back to.
Roxanna — Google review
This restauran (restaurant to my friends) has the glorious atmosphere of a castle with walls of ancient stone. The service is impeccable. They could not do enough to accommodate our tastes; I requested a small mixed salad, off menu, and a most delicious well appointed rather large salad appeared. The Teramisu was outstanding. The pasta with an octopus ragu, outrageous. And there is live music playing an unending assortment of American music (yeah, I know) in the plaza at the door. A perfect, late night Sunday dinner.

We had breakfast vouchers from the hotel we stayed at. At the restaurant, we were given a set menu that could be used to order breakfast using the vouchers. All 3 options include coffee or tea and orange juice. All 3 options are not vegetarian. I asked our server if they could skip the salmon and add more vegetables to my option. Our server was nice enough to work with the chef and make me a vegetarian option. I was pleasantly surprised that they were so accommodating! My breakfast was lovely and I got a great start to explore Split.

Sanctuary Restaurant & Cantina is a popular craft cocktail bar located in Split. The menu features over 60 cocktails, including classic options and tropical drinks like Pina Coladas and Hurricanes. The bar also offers a wide selection of champagne cocktails and boasts the largest whiskey collection in Split.
Splendid Mexican restaurant in the old own of Split - they have seating both indoors and outdoors, and plenty of options. Everything is fresh and well served. Prices very reasonable for the amount that you get - especially for being in the busier district.

This was one of our best meals in Split. My friend and I were sat at the adjoining bar the night before and the food looked and smelled so good that we decided to come back and try it the next night and it did not disappoint! I got the nachos, my friend got the chicken burrito salad and both were amazing. My nachos had a nice big serving of guacamole which is always nice as most places are stingy with it. The drinks were incredible, my coconut margarita was so delicious I had to get a second! Our waitress had the most fantastic energy as well and provided great service.

Amazing food super filling we were a party of 3, we brought the nachos to share and a main each I had the burrito and my fiends had the burrito salad, very filling. Party vibes throughout and an extensive cocktails list with lots of different margaritas. The staff are super lovely and fun, music throughout the experience would recommend for just drinks as well !

Sanctuary Cantina is a really cool little bar and restaurant, with friendly staff and a great vibe. We had one of the best Mexican meals we've ever had l and we've eaten it all over the world, including Mexico! We had vegetarian quesadillas, pork burrito, chicken red enchilada, vegetarian red enchilada and Mexican rice (unfortunately I only took photos of the quesadillas and burrito because we devoured everything so quickly!). Everything was full of flavour and just the right balance if spice (you can spice things up if you want too). We would definitely come again if we were in Split again.

The best Mexican food in Europe! I’ve been to Split a few times and every time Sanctuary is my first stop: the food is amazing, the cocktails are delicious, and the staff is very friendly and helpful! I’ve loved everything I’ve had here but I highly recommend the wet burrito, pork quesadilla, and the spicy margarita

This is a very fun Mexican restaurant located in the city centre. Our waitress was lovely and helpful. I loved the diverse and delicious selection of mocktails they offer. The food was good too, but I found the nachos disappointing as there was hardly any meat in them. The seats are pretty uncomfortable, too.

GEORGY !!!, formerly known as Shotgun Shooters Bar, is a lively and vibrant establishment located in the bohemian area of Split - Get. As the first shooters bar in Croatia, it offers an extensive selection of creatively named shots in a neon-lit setting. The bar may be small, but it compensates with its provocative shot names and energetic atmosphere. Ante, one of the bartenders, is renowned for creating a party vibe every night.
What a place!! Lots of choice of shots, fun games like spin the wheel and trivia. Can just pop in for a shot and leave, but we stayed for a while for the atmosphere. Great music and drinks and the bartender Misha was so much fun! We went back a second time a few days later we loved it so much! Will be coming back again to hang out with Misha on our next trip to split! 😀

Tropic Club is a popular entertainment spot located near Bacvice beach, making it an essential destination for those seeking an unforgettable night out in the city. The club is known for its frequent performances by various music stars and its beautiful arrangement. While it can get crowded during tourist season, the service from the helpful staff and the fantastic atmosphere make it a highly recommended experience.
We’re tourists from Aus and we had an amazing night. The waiters were so helpful and helped us organise a booth, throughout the night we were taken care of, constantly checked up on and had assistance at any time. Big thank you to Tomislav for being so helpful and caring, whatever problems we had he was there to help! Music was great, service was fantastic and as long as you have a good group of friends atmosphere was always amazing!! Highly recommend!!

Too crowded. We couldn't walk, stand or dance without getting pushed around. Stood in line for over an hour and still it was too full still. Not very special and I liked all the other bars in the beach area way better. The bouncer was very good though, I enjoyed standing in line watching him deal with annoying drunk people.
Jesse H — Google review
A simple nightclub, not the best but still nice to meet people and drink alcohol for cheap.
Damon P — Google review
I went during Split's off season (specifically, in mid-January) so there were only locals present. Luckily didn't have to pay a cover. That said, it's pretty clear why there's a cover during tourist season because it's a small venue that doesn't take long to be at max capacity (and naturally a nightclub by the beach is going to draw a crowd). I had a great time and thought the bartenders' service was excellent. Still, as I said, this was an off-season experience.
Mountain S — Google review
Unfortunately the day was rainy, and it was almost empty. The DJ on the other side played really good mixes, so maybe on a hot day it’s nice!
Joel S — Google review
I've been there once with a friend last week and it was extremely bad! Everywhere on the ground there was broken glas. People wanted to steal a friends wallet in a team of 4 girls and 1 man. The bartender gave us horrible punshed Cuba Libre which tasted like methanol! Never drank something that bad before in whole life. Also there were several not even hot golddigger. They just tried to get free drinks from us without talking to us before. Don't go there! You don't miss anything!
Jos D — Google review
I don’t usually leave a review but jesus christ this place is the worst. The sound quality is terrible and loud, the entry fee is far to expensive for what it’s actually worth and the floor was littered with broken glass. Also the beer tastes like weed. Avoid this place at all costs.

Diocletian's Palace, located in Split, Croatia, was built for the Roman emperor Diocletian in the 4th century AD. Although referred to as a palace, it is more like a massive fortress with half of it serving as Diocletian's residence and the rest housing a military garrison. Today, this ancient site is part of Split's historic core and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is a must see on split. Drink up the atmosphere and engineering that has made this place last for so long. Great views from the Bell tower of the whole old town and across the bay. Very well priced and signage in English as well as other languages. Can be busy when cruise ships are in but this is just the part of the hustle and bustle of life now in the city of Split.
Lee E — Google review
This was the most beautiful experience! For history nerds, to influencers, to everyday tourists I'd highly recommend the palace. We absolutely loved it! Take advantage of the package deals to see all the sites like the bell tower, crypt and more. Otherwise, incredible food is found inside and outside the walls

If you love old architecture this is for you.The down side is it gets very busy. There are parts that you pay to go in but only if you want. Guided tours are available. Partial wheel chair access. Accessible parking is near by. Market stalls and restaurants also plentiful.
Kevin S — Google review
It looks like Venice palaces! But less sunken, less scammy, much less formal rules, tourists are nicer, less crowded. And we don't get to see his rooms, Chambers, but get to see temples repurposed by Christians. It's the core attraction of Split and it makes Split a better place than Dubrovnik which is super scammy.

Beautiful spot in old town of Split. You can spend a few hours walking around, many shops and good restaurants. Use the King's gate and touch on the toe of the statue of the King for good luck.
Vipasiri N — Google review
This isn’t just a palace - it’s the literal foundation of Split. Built by Emperor Diocletian in 305 AD as his retirement home, the entire Old Town grew within its walls. Marble columns, sphinxes from Egypt, narrow alleys that open into courtyards full of cafés and live music. Visit during the evening when local musicians play in Peristyle Square - you’ll feel the centuries merge.

Easily manageable ancient town , although best to avoid times when cruise ships are in as the area gets congested quickly. The combined entry ticket is well worth it, although the Bell Tower climb is not fir the claustrophobic. The Palace (really an old town within a town) is definitely a must-do in Split.

Amazing place, came in by accident since the place we were looking to visit was closed. This turned out to be our luck as this place is simply amazing, the coffee was really good, the brunch items both tasty but also beautifully presented, so nice in fact that I was sceptical about eating the yogurt, I didn't want to stir everything on the plate. The service was friendly and helpful, no problem with a small change of a menu item, food and drinks came fast and served with a smile and friendly words. Love this place, will come again.

We loved this bar! It was decorated so nicely inside and had some very delicious and unique drinks. We also got the dates of paradise and they were exceptional!
Lindsey O — Google review
Unfortunately, I didn’t like it at all. I would rate the food -10/10. I ordered shakshuka, but unfortunately it turned out to be a classic expectation vs. reality case… The first photo shows what I received, the second one shows what a proper shakshuka actually looks like 🙌🏼There wasn’t enough tomato sauce, which is the very base of this dish, even though it was clearly listed in the menu (photo attached as well). My partner had the English breakfast, but sadly it wasn’t worth the money either – the sausages weren’t tasty, and the mushrooms were over-peppered. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the coffee. Unfortunately, the service was also below expectations. When we expressed our opinion about the “shakshuka,” the waiter simply said, “it happens, sorry,” and that was it. I believe that in a good place, the service should be on a higher level, with an actual solution offered. In short, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I tried many cocktails in Split and on Hvar, but this bar has the most unusual and fascinating ones. The bartenders can seem a little intimidating at first, but don’t be put off by the absence of overly sweet, American-style service — these people are here to do their job, and they do it well. I loved everything I tried; the drinks were artistic and full of flavor, yet still accessible to the average palate. PS: Paloma cocktail is a masterpiece, I tried to do it at home strictly by the recipe, and it was not the same. LOVE IT HERE.

Teraca Vidilica is a bar/restaurant located on the first Marjan viewpoint in Split, offering a perfect vantage point to enjoy stunning views of the city and the sea. Visitors can relax at outdoor tables with affordable house wine or domestic beer while watching the sunset over the horizon. The route to Teraca Vidilica leads from Spinut to the Vidilica lookout, providing one of the most beautiful views of Split.
The views are incredible. Literally the best in Split. The service was impeccable, our waiter was especially knowledgable about local wines and his recommendation was wonderful. The food itself was likewise wonderful, and finally (in Split) properly seasoned, where it seems things are generally just over salted. Also the meat was lively and not overcooked (which has been our experience elsewhere). Its a very reasonable price, far from the most expensive restaurant in the city, despite being a unique and fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended.

However the food itself didn’t meet the expectations of the price and were not very memorable. One dish was a yoghurt dish yet the yoghurt was runny like milk. Probably best to stick to ordering drinks here and enjoying the view

Absolutely amazing experience! Antonio provided top notch service with spot on food and wine recommendations. His constant smile and fun personality made the evening unforgettable. The breathtaking view is the cherry on top, a must visit spot in Split.

The view is so good, I loved looking at the boats in the harbour but service was so bad when we just had our drinks our waiter sat down and starting chatting to the other waiters and they were having there own drink and the people started having to come up to the waiters instead of the waiters coming up to you. We wanted to eat but they only sides between 3-6pm so couldn’t sample their delicious menu. No kids menu so check your children will eat before you come. Definitely overall a 3 stars for me!

Incredible place with astonishing views of the city. The food was really delicious and service was awesome. I'm really thankful to the staff not only for the service but also for their help. Worth visiting.

People come here for the view but let me tell you that the food and coffee are absolutely fantastic! The macchiato is surreal and I had a beefsteak salad that was unearthly! Absolutely recommend this place. Yozo’s service was great: fast, attentive, and courteous.

Well worth the trip up Marjan Hill stairs! We stopped there for dinner and drinks after hiking to the Vidikovac observation tower. Seated immediately, good service but also allowed us to take our time and watch the setting sun reflect off the rooftops of Split. Perfect last night in Split.

Antique Bar, located on the Riva, offers a blend of classic and modern design with an intimate and alluring atmosphere. The bar features gold accents, chilled music, and craft cocktails that are sure to captivate visitors. In the evening, it becomes a bustling spot with good music and a mix of locals and foreigners enjoying the wide selection of reasonably priced drinks.
First a young staff seemed not to notice us at all but another server came to our table quickly and took our order. The drinks came quickly and the prices were reasonable. We paid 6€ with the credit card since we didn’t have any KR money with us anymore. We even had a nice chat with the same guy.

I am in Split solo for a couple of days, so I just decided to go to the most lively bar on an offseason Friday night in October for the story. This is the only place where there seem to be a lot of people dancing along the harbor. It was very packed. Everyone was singing at the top of their lungs, so that was a vibe. the groups were interestingly split between all men and all women for the most part, but nobody would talk to one another. It felt like they were even avoiding eye contact. I’m from Rio/Miami/Berlin - different experience for sure. I ended up making friends with some ladies from a northern island who told me it’s music for an older crowd. The bartender went to me quickly, but he seemed mad to take my order. Really tough to walk around or find a spot to stand because nobody wanted to give you an inch. Beautiful place, though.
Victoria B — Google review
We waited 15 minutes without any service. The waiter seemed to avoid customers by keeping his eyes on the ground. Another staff member standing nearby said this wasn’t his area and that someone else was responsible. After another 5 minutes, we asked him to send the person in charge, which he did reluctantly. When the waiter finally came, he was rather unfriendly. Fun fact: while all this was happening, five other staff members were standing inside the air-conditioned area, chatting and watching Instagram reels. To make matters worse, the prices are too high for the quality of the drinks. Overall, a disappointing experience.
Manuel L — Google review
We visited Antique Bar for lunch after spotting it on Instagram—we were in the mood for something light and went for sushi. On the plus side, the sushi was excellent and well presented, with wasabi and ginger to cleanse the palate. Several different pieces, all tasty. We also tried the pork gyoza, which were flavorful and nicely cooked. The Hugo cocktail was balanced and paired beautifully with the food. On pricing: the €54 sushi platter (listed for two) felt a bit light on quantity for the cost; the €11 gyoza are pricey as well. Delicious overall, but not something we’d repeat frequently at these prices. Service was friendly, though table management was a bit chaotic and we waited quite a while—the waiter did apologize. In conclusion high quality and attractive plating, well-made cocktails; prices on the high side and wait times could improve.

The location is nice, right at the promonade with a view of the harbour. However the service was quite bad. It was difficult to order a drink and even more difficult to pay for them. After not seeing a server in a long time I went inside to pay and all the servers were inside sitting down chilling on their phones.
Hannah E — Google review
Worst service and unfriendliest staff we’ve experienced in our week in Split. We asked a waiter if we could sit in the outside seating for a drink which we were told yes, but he walked off and didn’t show us to a table. We sat down with no menu, and once we got one we’re not approached by any staff. A waitress eventually came to our table, didn’t greet us, and as we started to order snatched our menus and told us we could only drink at the outdoor bar seating, which we were confused about as it is a bar and we were in their outdoor seating. She proceeded to walk off and dump the menus on another table without saying anything to us. Decided to get a drink somewhere else. So unprofessional and rude. Would not recommend.
Emily W — Google review
Apparently, the “crowd” here isn’t because it’s popular—it’s just a waiting room for people who eventually give up and leave. Service? A mythical concept. The antique name fits perfectly, since the whole place feels stuck in a century where customer care didn’t exist.
Balaji B — Google review
Skip this place! They seem to hate tourists. Staff is arrogant, rude and making fun of guests. We waited 30 minutes, first they ignored us and then made it clear we had to wait, even though they we’re passing us by all the time. Locals were served within a few minutes. After ordering, we got wrong drinks. We just got the hell out of there.

It's known for hosting wild parties and is particularly favored by young tourists. The bar is part of popular Pub Crawls in Split and features a stage where DJs play loud music that gets people dancing. With an extensive drink selection, swift table service, and comfortable seating, this cash-only spot offers a vibrant atmosphere with a view of the harbor.
Very big open air bar, overlooking the harbor. Not expensive. Extremely large choice of drinks. Swift table service. Cash only. Comfy chairs. With discobar and lightshow.

Nice location. That's all I can say good about it. Visited Split on a cruise and thru top tourists off. Went yo pay just over 13 euros for 2 glasses of very distasteful glasses of wine. When stopped by the bar staff saying they don't accept coins in euros. So offered to pay by card... GUESS WHAT.. no card accepted. Ended up giving him 20 euros in notes, which he gave change back in Kuna..... And short changed me with that!! Personally I would avoid going less you have Kuna... Lots of other bars etc that all accepted euro coins. They should be ashamed, but of course they are not... Just happy to rip off tourists.

We went to several bars in this beautiful city - but avoid this one! Rude staff, rude staff (bartender and waiter are extremely unfriendly). Haven't seen that often. Omg. And the ice coffee was also disgusting. Couldn't drink it. But we loved the city :)
Stefan O — Google review
Prices are rediculous. We paid 270 kuna (€ 38,-) for a local beer, a white wine, and a shisha (waterpipe). The view of the harbor is spectacular, but with these prices we will not visit the place again.
Tim V — Google review
Nice little seaside bar a little bit more expensive than most, cold beer. Nice place to chill as the sun goes down
David S — Google review
We went there because the location seemed nice and with all the lights, it seemed like a great place. However, when we sat down, the waiter/bartender just stood up from the table next to us where he was drinking and chatting with his friends and asked us what we wanted without giving us any menu. When he brought our drinks, we asked to see the menu and then he just came back nonchalently with our bill and urged us to pay cash only. We asked AGAIN for the menu; he came back and almost tossed it on the table. The gin and tonic we had were clearly watered down and were expensive for what we got. Staff is rude and the drinks are not worth their price!
Katia V — Google review
We visited the outside area on a Sunday evening. The Cocktails were OK and expensive, but the waiter was quite unfriendly and mistrustful. We ordered drinks and were pre-warned that it's cash only and knew about the high prices. However, when one of us had to go to the ATM nearby (which was in line of sight for us and the waiters) to retrieve cash to pay for the cocktails, the waiter followed him and kept doing that, asking for the money disrespectfully often, at least it felt like that to us. All that happened within 10 minutes after sitting down, ordering and getting the drinks. The service just seemed rude and not chilled like you would expect it in a bar like this. Or maybe you would, looking at the other reviews here.
Maddin8 — Google review
Great view of the ocean... But the waiter seemed high, and asked directly for tips. Only two out of the ten beers on the menu are available every night, and everything on the menu is really expensive. Also the music would be great, if the DJ hadn't remixed it...

The club hosts heavy club nights for fans of underground music and weekly gigs from alternative rock bands. Known for its graffiti-covered cement walls and dim lighting, Kocka attracts artists and musicians as their late-night go-to spot. The club offers various DJ nights, concerts, affordable drinks, and a friendly atmosphere.

The place is great. Nice customer service and good beer. Or at least for my taste. The sound is great and I had a great time dancing on some nice grooves. Sadly I have to give it just four stars since there were not enough people on the party I went to and that is the problem with Split in general. Not enough party people when you need them to get the party started. Hopefully other visitors will have a better time with more locals dancing on the floor.
Karlo P — Google review
A classic dive of a club, come here for crappy music and underaged drunks. Once a staple of urban and alternative culture for the youth of the city now just a way for losers to pretend to be djs and promoters. Shame because I had some good times but it has failed to evolve and continue to use underground as an excuse for no standards and filthy toilets. Do not bring a date here and do not expect to see anything remotely attractive and well dressed.

Asked ridiculous entrance fee (50€). The club was supposed to be holding ultra after party and based on people in and around the club the only activity there would be trying not get scammed/robbed/beaten up by shady and dangerous looking people waiting in large groups to jump you.

If you're looking to dive into the vibrant nightlife of Split, the Tower Pub Crawl is an experience you won't want to miss. This lively event offers a fantastic opportunity to explore a variety of bars and clubs while mingling with fellow travelers and locals alike. Over the course of 90 minutes, you'll visit some of the trendiest venues in town, enjoying unlimited drinks that range from refreshing brews to creative cocktails. Plus, there's often complimentary food like pizza included!
I was on the pub crawl Monday night and Indira was the host/guide. She was so much fun, kind and exciting to be around. She did a great job at keeping everyone together and making this pub crawl something to remember. This was my first time in split and thanks to her, I made an unforgettable memory.

The evening culminated in much of the group (including the 2 tour guides) being detained for 8 hours in a Croatian police station. Didn’t expect such an authentic experience. Might not be for everyone. Not sure why the guides weren’t aware of a new law stating they large groups of people can’t gather after 10 pm. I also don’t understand why the crawl took us right by the police station. One of the worst nights of my life.

Really fun and well organised pub crawl! Went on a Monday night in the summer and there were still about 30-40 people. They also made a groupchat to make sure no one would get lost which was really useful. Fun bars & good vibes all around, shoutout to our guide Cris :)

A little overpriced for the amount of alcohol you get, but there was shots at the door of each bar - and it was a really good way to explore the nightlife in split. The best part was meeting really fun people who we saw the other nights we were out in Split as well. Hugo was our leader and he had a great energy, was a lot of fun. The beach club was a bit quiet when we arrived but it was out of season - we ended up going to Club 305 and it was amazing. Would go again to this pubcrawl.

My friends and I went as a group of 21 people in June. It was so fun and I definitely recommend you go on the first or second night in split because it lets you get an incredible feel for the city. Our guide was Hugo, the chillest guy I’ve met. Despite being so many people and going to so many places I never felt the entire time like I was being herded instead the was an atmosphere like you could go and do whatever which was very nice. I went to get fast food in the middle of the tour and it disrupted nothing and tasted so good. Not to mention that all of these places were welcoming themselves apart from the tour. We went back to them on different days and because of the tour we knew our way around the city much better. Just go and be social, you’ll have a fun time. Especially if Hugo is your guide.

Absolutely loved the Riva in Split! The promenade is stunning — palm trees, sea breeze, and amazing views of the harbour and old town. Perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening walk at sunset. It’s always lively with locals and tourists, but never feels chaotic. Some cafés are a bit pricey, but the atmosphere totally makes up for it. Bonus: Along the Riva, there are plenty of places where you can easily arrange boat trips to the nearby islands — perfect for a day of adventure on the Adriatic! 🌴☕️🌊🚤

Mistral Beach Club is an elegant and stylish beach club in Split, offering a relaxing atmosphere with great music and vibes. The service is generally good, although some visitors found it challenging to get attention at times. The menu options are limited, but the food quality is good, especially the beef tagliata and burgers. The club features a small beach area with stairs leading into the sea, as well as options to rent parasols and sunbeds.
This was our favorite beach in Split. The water was so clean and although it’s a pebble beach, the rocks here are comfortable and beautiful. Food at the restaurant was good. Recommend making a reservation in advance. My family loved spending the day here.
Joel S — Google review
Great beach club offering multiple vibes depending on what you’re after. If you want a party atmosphere with bottle service, arrive after 2 pm as the music doesn’t really start until early afternoon. For a more laid-back beach experience, be ready to share the space with locals. Service on the beach is decent but not on par with the restaurant’s attentive staff. Prices are high but fair for a premium beach club. I’d return, but next time I’d reserve day beds on the deck. A little more expensive than beach chairs but you have private access to water not requiring water shoes. If you stick to the beach, bring water shoes—the rocky shoreline can be tough if you’re not used to it. We paid €140 for four chairs, two umbrellas, and four towels.
David C — Google review
The location is newly renovated. The view and water is very nice. 35 Euro for the simplest deckchair, 50 Euro for one with Polster, 100Euro for a 2 person lounge and 10 for a towel on the expensive side. We decided to take deck chairs for 4 person. Prices from the bar and restaurants are in the high end. The dishes tastes very good but the fish for 37Euro is very tiny with a few pieces of potatoes. Many waiters were working there but it takes endless to get your drinks. They told us they are stressed because of the many tourists but the club was half empty. Guests from Radisson get the deck chairs for free. So all in all a nice place only for tourists. You can spend a very nice place there but much room from the manager to improve on many aspects.
Marco H — Google review
Overall it is a gorgeous and relaxing place to spend the day, but 35€ is overpriced for a sun lounger. This price didn’t include a towel. We had to ask them to wipe the tables which were filthy, there was rubbish all around the sun loungers like dirty socks and there was even rubbish floating in the water. Not what you would expect for a ‘luxury vibe’ beach club… The sushi and cocktail I had was delicious but the cocktail for 17€ was half ice, wouldn’t get it again.
Alicja G — Google review
If you're looking for a nice clean quiet beach area, then this might be a place to checkout. A couple things to keep in mind that food and the beach chair rental are very expensive; the regular lounge chair is 35 € each , the next price up is a set of daybeds for 100€ and the cabana is 150€ which can fit up to 10 people, and a towel is 10€, the price is based on all day rental. If you're planning to be here all day then it's worth checking out.
P K — Google review

Really liked this spot. Got off a boat and needed a place to hang out by the water for the day and this was the perfect place. Drinks were great and reasonably priced. Food was just alright. They need to clean their bathrooms, for a club charging 100 euros for entry for a day bed they can take care of that more. The details matter. Overall a great experience though.

Fresh place, good menu, value for money, great food and good drink selection. Loads of crew, but all of them were very junior and had no idea how service and F&B operation works. Only one chef in the kitchen and all the service crew walking around in circles with there eyes down on the POS or in the floor, very hard to get eye contact and get to order. Nice and friendly and positive attitude once you get the attention at the table. Management need to step up with guidance. So much misses potential. Good luck!

Dogs are not welcome, not even little quiet educated dogs. We came to the renewed caffee on the eve of May 1st. Caffee terrace was not full, but as we had a dog they said we could take drinks and sit on the bench in the park near the caffee. I know that many children, drunk guests can't be even compared to our nice and quiet dog who doesn't even leave any hair as it's a poodle and it was freshley hairdressed. So we kindly thanked for the pleasure of being seated in the park. The waiter was young and nice and he apologized, so the critics goes to the owners. I had a drink there without a dog before, but I haven't thought they have the policy of excluding dogs. I know there will be other guests coming - I only wish they would be as quiet and well educated as my dog.

Families can spend leisurely days here, indulging in ice cream from nearby vendors or simply soaking up the sun.
What a gem... I'm glad I found this place. Super relaxed vibes. Fast friendly service, cheap beer for the location. Great cocktails. Plenty of shade for those hot days. Toilets on hand. Deck chairs for 80 Kuna a day. Went a couple times and would definitely go back. Worth the trip getting there. 25 min walk from Split central.

Great place to get a drink and a snack for the beach. Staff were lovely and saved me a Greek Salad in their fridge until later. Cheap and cheerful with a smile!
Nigel P — Google review
Horrible customer service. Manager of the place is very dangerous, he’s fighting and screaming at the customers. I literally had to leave because I thought he will get physical. Somebody please get some mental help to him this is not a joke.. I ordered white coffee and I got cappuccino with 80% foam, croissant tastes 3 days old. Waste of money and horrible rest of the day. Definitely don’t recommend.

Decent for a beach beer. Can hire sun loungers for approximately 120 kuna (no time limit was specified as it was getting close to sunset). The barmaid charged us half price for the loungers as, previously mentioned, it was close to sunset. Nice place to chill

Marvlvs Library Jazz Bar is nestled within the historic Diocletian Palace, serving as a cozy den with masonry walls and timber-beamed ceilings. It holds a significant heritage as the birthplace of Marko Marulic, the father of Croatian poetry and literature. The bar exudes cultural richness and artistic allure, offering an intimate setting for locals to enjoy live music while sipping on drinks.
Gorgeous bar with great tunes and quality cocktails. Didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that but the building is so beautiful and the atmosphere with the music is very nice.
Louise L — Google review
Absolutely amazing small bar. Reserve if you are able to. The music was great and very neat inside. This was one of my favourite spots in old Dubrovnick and a little hidden gem.
Marcus O — Google review
Beautiful and cozy spot to hang out. The drinks are great, the service is wonderful! Love it! We enjoyed it so much we went 3 nights in a row!
Leo R — Google review
Disappointed. They play some cozy music, but don't expect performances. They're definitely not a regular occurrence. A bit of an awkward visit really. They told me there's no menu, although I see the menu in front of me in the shape of an old book. Their offer is limited and they lack lots of stuff. Coffee machine was out of order. No hot beverages. One type of rum. Guinness and some other beers. Service wasn't hospitable, especially not with the menu situation. Because of that prices were unclear and it's rather expensive. It has a small patio. Imo this is basic hole in the wall bar to have a quick drink and go. Definitely not a jazz bar whatever they say
Thomas V — Google review
A quaint and cozy place which offers live music on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Monotosh C — Google review
Hidden gem tucked in a small alleyway. We found it with the help of Google direction. The jazz was good, the menu itself is a fun read. The courtyard has the view of somebody's terrace and laundry which was kind of funny. When it was busy the music can fade into the background but overall, a very nice place to chill out.

Great atmosphere! Very cozy place with different seating areas. We played some chess and there was live music. The service made my favorite cocktail for me on request: old fashioned.

Ćakula is a traditional bar located in Split, offering a great environment for a quick drink. The indoor area is nicely decorated and the table service is quick. It's conveniently located near the town center and major bus stations, providing a quaint and casual atmosphere. The covered patio seating features cool automated windows that slide up to shut out midday thunderstorms. In addition to its cozy ambiance, Ćakula offers affordable coffee prices compared to other popular bars in the area.
A nice, quaint and casual place near to the town centre and major bus stations. The indoor area is nicely decorated, or redecorated rather, as the cafe used to go by a different name up until recently. Table service is quick. Even though it's by a busy road, it gives off the feeling of being excluded from the traffic.

This caffe is pretty good with an outside area and a nicely decorated inside area.Inside are is for non smokers and it has a large bar.Prices are affordable and the staff is nice and kind. With the location near the town center and near the bus terminal it is an ideal stop to grab a coffe or a drink.
Marino P — Google review
Good environment for a quick drink. We came in for a quick cup of coffee and it started raining hard so we decided to order more. We paid 2.40 euro for a very nice hot chocolate that's as thick as pudding. There was unfortunately no food here, but it seemed no issue for us to eat the snacks we were carrying with us that day because we were planning to go to the beach. The covered patio seating has some cool automated windows that slide up to shut out the midday thunderstorm. The place got very busy because of the rain. The only issue for us was the large number of smokers but I won't ding the review for that.

What a DUMP!!! We were in Croatia for 12 days and we can easily say that this was the absolute worst restaurant/bar of our trip. When you first walk in you immediately get a smell of urine. Disgusting! The staff was rude and disrespectful the moment we walked in. Btw, only 4 other customers were there at the height of dinner. Don’t waste your time or money!!!
April W — Google review
Don’t waste your time! Sat inside and it smelled like urine and the water glasses looked filthy. Staff was rude and resentful of tourists. There are so many places in Split, why spend your money and time at a place like this!
Jeannie H — Google review
Cash only, but ice cafe very very good + glass of water
Wojciech A — Google review
Dirty glasses, low quality coffee, staff rude to the point of getting insulted for returning a coffee and asking for another one as per the original order. Edit: thanks for your reply, looks like it all comes from the top, criticism can be used to get the things better but obviously not at your level. Good luck with your establishment, hope the results will be in line with your reply
Zoran B — Google review
Not so great place. Waiter was rude, iced coffe and ice tea weren't too good, but also not expensive. Don't know how good are hot drinks. It's close to bus station so you can get drink as soon as you arrive in Split, but you must have cash. I won't be back, but it's ok choice for tourists.

Great bar by an amazing owner managed by very kind personnel! Interior is cosy (mostly wood). Recently became a 'local' and I go there for a morning coffee, an afternoon beer or something stronger when the DJ booth is active on weekend nights. I'm very happy to have this place just around the corner 👌

I almost don’t want to write this review to gate keep but I have to share the love. The ambiance and vibe of this place is so curated to a beautiful comfortable level. Everything well thought out from the vinyls and magazines to the red dim lighting and seating areas. It’s relaxed but you’re so excited to be in there. It’s not pretentious and service is on point. Makes me feel like I’m in the west village manhattan having a drink and chat with friends. A true local spot. And the owner is from Croatia - very nice and hospitable. ASC <3

Chill spot with underground house vibes. Great funky house music playing with a cool esthetic. It's cash only, so bring your euros!!

Such a great atmosphere but sadly they only had 4 cocktails options (the waiter did not even know how to describe them), payment only in cash which is annoying if someone is only visiting (should be written outside!). Would not recommend for a sturday night out if you are in the mood to have a good drink.

Marjan Park is a true gem for nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil escape, often referred to as the "lungs of the city," this area offers a serene retreat from the bustling city center. The beaches around Marjan Hill, such as Kašjuni Beach and Bene Beach, are less crowded compared to other popular spots in Split. The secluded coves offer a peaceful environment where the sounds of cicadas can lull you into a state of relaxation better than any lullaby. One of the best ways to enjoy Marjan Beach is by setting up a hammock between the trees, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty. For those who prefer a more active holiday, the park is perfect for jogging, cycling, and hiking, especially in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler.

Nestled in the heart of Split, Hostel Quasimodo offers a cozy and modern retreat with stylish decor and plenty of natural light. The hostel is conveniently located near popular attractions, including Diocletians Palace and Poljud Stadium, as well as an array of dining options and shops. The rooms feature rustic accents and are brightly furnished, providing a comfortable stay for guests.
My stay at Quasimodo hostel was quite memorable. The staff went above and beyond to make my extended time comfortable. Most notable was Ante. He was the first person I met at check in. He was hospitable and accommodating. Throughout the week he showed me a great deal of kindness and made me feel welcome. Ante as well as the cleaning staff are hardworking and definitely deserve some compliments. I am grateful for the interactions I had with everyone during my stay.
Melody C — Google review
Overall, I am was very satisfied with my stay at Quasimodo Hostel. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious but we were facing the rooftop terrace, which resulted in a lot of noise when guests would come back late at night and stay up to chat. Besides that, the rooftop is really nice and a great place to enjoy breakfast. The location is good and within walking distance of most things but the entrance is very hard to find when you first arrive. The beds are comfortable, the place feels safe, and the kitchen has what it needs and is kept clean. Perhaps a bit overpriced but then again that is maybe just Split during tourist high season. We also had to pay more than what was advertised on Hostelworld which was a bit of an annoying start to our stay.
Ida P — Google review
Great location and service. The rooms are clean and well-equipped with power outlets and cosy lamps close to all the beds in the dorm room. Kitchen is also okay. The only drawback is the quality of the restrooms. Only half of the restroom stalls have a lock on the door, which can be extremely stressful. Toilet seats are loose. No soap at the sinks. Shower is good, only wish they had more hooks for clothes. One is not enough. Overall good place and I'd definitely stay again!
Ken L — Google review
Cheap, location is decent, within walking distance to the old town. Rooms are average hostel style, and balcony with a decent view. You can only pay cash which is a little weird. Atmosphere is a party vibe. Good air-conditioning in the rooms. Stayed June 2019.
Kale H — Google review
This place was great, simply because of the vibe and the space. The beer garden/rooftop area makes for great socialising. This is a great place for young people in particular. Only thing that might make it better is the organisation of events such as pub crawls. This is a really nice place ! It’s also pretty hard to find the entrance, so here’s a photo!
Tom L — Google review
Good location near the center of the city. The rooms were pretty comfortable and well decorated. Have in mind the small lockers. The staff didn't really amazed me...they didn't care much, they were just there. The kitchen is really tiny with a few appliances. No oven and just a small induction stove and a microwave. And you have a super small space to cook. The wifi is very poor here so have that in mind. The toilets are ok with pretty much everything you need. In general is quite small the hostel but with a very big balcony to chill.

Bokeria Kitchen & Wine is a stylish restaurant and bar in Split, named after Barcelona's La Boqueria market. It combines the concept of a high-end restaurant and a wine bar, attracting international celebrities. The interior design is spectacular, making it one of the city's most recognizable locations. Bokeria offers pan-Mediterranean cuisine and an extensive wine list, perfect for wine lovers.
Best octopus I've had having been around Croatia 4 times now. The tenderness and juiciness of the meats is outstanding, and the garnishes and side dishes are just as good. The risotto is also absolutely incredible. The starters are very good, although not as mind blowing as the main courses. The fish tacos are the standout in my opinion. It's a very popular place, especially in the evenings, so make sure to book a table a very long time in advance. They do try to accommodate walk ins though. The music is a bit loud, again, especially in the evenings, which together with the crowd noise makes it a little difficult to hold conversation.
Alejandro G — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience here and definitely will not return. For starters, we ordered the soup and the codfish spring roll. The spring roll was the only decent thing we had crispy, flavorful, and well done. Unfortunately, the soup was a complete letdown. It was bland and absolutely no richness or depth you’d expect from a restaurant charging these prices. For mains, I had the squid ink risotto and my husband had the Angus beef. After our starters, we were left waiting almost 20 minutes for the mains. The risotto was dull, lacking any balance or seasoning, and had an unpleasant aftertaste. The Angus beef was chewy and poorly cooked, paired with mashed potatoes that were supposed to be elevated with truffle oil. As a country that actually produces truffles, this version was shockingly below standard flat, oily, and with none of the fragrant quality you’d expect. Service made the experience even worse. We were given a completely different menu from another table, which left us questioning whether there was some form of bias or discrimination happening. And when we asked for the bill, a female server simply pointed her finger at my original (male) server, refusing to assist and continuing her personal chat instead. Completely unprofessional, dismissive, and unacceptable for a place that positions itself as “above average.” Overall: long waiting times, overpriced dishes, inconsistent menus, poor service, and food that is far below the mark in flavor and execution. One good spring roll can’t save an otherwise awful dining experience.

Bokeria in Split is a beautiful restaurant with a stylish and inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel like you’re in a special place. The presentation of the dishes is excellent — everything looks amazing and carefully prepared. However, while some plates taste just as good as they look, others don’t quite deliver the same “wow” factor once you try them. Prices are on the higher side compared to other spots in Split, so it’s definitely more of a treat-yourself place. Overall, Bokeria is worth visiting for the ambiance and experience, but not every dish lives up to its presentation.

Truwel and prosciutto pasta was delicious, Caesar salad needed more sauce. Soup was ok, byt nothing special; soparnik is really good here, recommend it. Amazing wine (local chardonney). Service is very good and attentive.

Sat upstairs by a window. This place was really good. Everything was executed perfectly. The sea bass with the cauliflower puree was a great combo. Dont skip soparnik either for the appetizer!! Would 1000% return. Great location in the old center of Split
Michelle P — Google review
Had a great sea bass meal here this evening - very reasonably priced. Wait staff was incredibly friendly and a great vibe atmosphere. Without doubt, if you are into Croatian wine, this is THE PLACE in Split to visit. They have over 160 Croatian wines to choose from, ~30 of which you can buy by the glass. I had a Grk, Pošip sur lie, and a dessert wine all from Croatia - the first two with my sea bass. All were excellent!
Michael H — Google review
If I could give Bokeria six stars, I would. This place doesn’t just serve food - it performs it. Set inside a refurbished 19th-century hardware store, the ambience hits the sweet spot between Mediterranean elegance and modern soul: high ceilings, warm wood, slow jazz, and the low hum of a packed dining room that feels alive with conversation and clinking glasses. Now, the black risotto - the best I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. It’s made from cuttlefish ink, rich enough to stain your soul, creamy from the slow-simmered arborio rice, yet with that perfect bite that tells you someone in the kitchen respects texture. The cuttlefish itself - tender but with structure, brined in its own ink, releasing that deep, oceanic sweetness that hits you like a memory you didn’t know you had. Each forkful lands with the intensity of truffle and sea salt and ends with a whisper of citrus. Pair it with a Medica, Croatia’s honey rakija - it’s smooth, golden, and just sweet enough to round the salt of the sea from the risotto. Follow that with the mint rakija, which feels like brushing your teeth with liquid sunlight - crisp, cool, and sharp enough to make you grin. Bokeria isn’t just a restaurant. It’s where the spirit of Split sits down to eat with you. Unreal food, unreal people, and a level of culinary rhythm that’ll have you planning your next meal before you’ve finished the first bite.

Notable nearby attractions include Diocletian's Palace, St.
Absolutely loved my visit to the Old Town Hall in Split, Croatia! This historic gem is a must-see for anyone exploring the city. The architecture is stunning, showcasing a beautiful blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. The atmosphere is vibrant, with charming squares and lively cafes surrounding the hall. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing great insights into the history of the building and the city. I especially enjoyed wandering through the nearby streets, filled with local shops and delicious food options. We spent a few hours exploring Split Old Town and were truly impressed. The heart of the city is Diocletian’s Palace, built in 305 AD, with its Roman temples, cathedral, and narrow alleys that now host lively cafés and restaurants. The mix of Roman remains and later Venetian architecture creates a unique atmosphere where history and daily life blend beautifully. The Old Town is full of charm, energy, and architectural treasures. The only drawback is the limited access to public toilets, usually paid (1 €). Still, it’s a must-see destination that leaves a lasting impression.

The Old Town Hall is beautiful. The area has many shops and restaurants. But most of the shops were not open on the weekends. I saw many shops that had items I wanted to purchase but couldn't because we were there on Saturday. However, almost all the restaurants in the Old Town Hall are open for business.
Michael W — Google review
The Old Split Town Hall (Croatian: Stara gradska vijećnica) was built in 1443 as the city started growing and kept expanding outside the palace. It was built in Gothic style and later rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1890, retaining the triple arcade. During the Middle ages, it was the seat of government in Split. Between 1910 and 2005, it housed the ethnographic museum, but today the old town hall hosts exhibitions of works of art by the city’s painters as well as many events. The Old Town Hall is located on the Pjaca square (Narodni trg), right next to the Iron Gate of the Palace and the City Clock. It’s surrounded by many palaces belonging to noble families that used to live on the square around it.

Walking and entering most museums teaches you a lot about getting to know a bit more of Croatian culture from that time when they were very detail-oriented and methodical in what they did, and walking through all those hallways you see more artistic and cultural details.

The Meštrović Gallery, located in Split, Croatia, is a cultural gem showcasing the works of renowned 20th-century sculptor Ivan Meštrović. Housed in a neo-classical villa built by the artist himself in 1931, the gallery offers a comprehensive display of his sculptures, including statues and portraits reflecting Classical, folk, and Modernist influences.
Lovely garden and sculptures. Unfortunately the building is being renovated so you can’t enter the building. But tickets were half price, and included entry to the church just down the road. The sculptures were well worth a look.
Antony C — Google review
Nice decent price unfortunately a lot of the gallery was closed when we visited but the tickets were discounted. Spacious and tranquil, really helpful and friendly staff who directed us to the church down the road which had a beautiful coastal view. And nice toilet’s probably some of the best in Split.
Pippa W — Google review
What a gorgeous location. During my visit the gallery was closed due to renovations, so I was only able to visit the gardens featuring about a dozen sculptures. Nothing was labeled (or I completely missed this), probably can buy a guide at the ticket office/gift shop. The architecture and gardens are beautiful, it was very serene with a few visitors around. Stunning views of the Adriatic and a reasonably nice view of the Marjan hill (the cross and the flag) due to construction work. The tickets were discounted and also included entry to Crikvine-Kaštelet, located a 10-minute walk up the road.
Iva Q — Google review
A short walk from Split is this imposing gallery. Well worth the effort and not overwhelmed with tourists. Plenty of artworks to suit all interests and in all materials. Ivan Metrovic had his workshop here and lived here, the building itself is impressive, but not overwhelming. And the view from is something not many tourists enjoy. There are steps to navigate but once inside it is cool and relaxed with space to stand back and enjoy these examples of Metric's creativity. The building is surrounded by a Mediterranean garden and serves as a popular wedding venue. Check what is on before you plan your visit. Not an expensive visit with accessible toilets too.
Nigel H — Google review
An interesting building with a small garden populated with some of the artist"s bronze sculptures. The staff were up front about the fact that the building was closed for renovations meaning most of the exhibits were unavailable, and the price was discounted accordingly. The ticket also includes the former church a little further along the road. Watch out for the cute little tortoises in the garden
Nigel M — Google review
The gallery was closed for reconstruction, so we were only allowed to visit the garden area and then the small church ~400 meters away by the sea, but overall experience was pretty pleasant, people working there were nice and it's a great location to take some memorable photos to bring from your vacation

Ancient Ruins
The Temple of Jupiter, located within the grounds of Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia, is a significant ancient landmark dating back to the 3rd century. Dedicated to Jupiter and featuring an Egyptian sphinx sculpted from black granite, this well-preserved Roman temple is a must-see attraction. The temple was once supported by massive columns, with only one remaining today.
Located in the western part of Diocletian's Palace near the Peristyle, the central square of the imperial complex. Built between 295 and 305, during the construction of the Palace, and was probably turned into a Baptistery of St. John the Baptist in the 6th century. Don't miss the intricate carvings around the entrance.
Vadim S — Google review
It's interesting but it's just one room with a statue, so as long as you see it as part of the combined ticket then fine, otherwise I don't think it's worth it. If you do go in then make sure you look at the interesting ceiling.
Pawel M — Google review
Whilst this Temple/Babtistery has great historical importance there really isn't much to see here. The information board gives the historical context to this building, but it wasn't the small vaulted ceiling that left me breathless, it was climbing the nearby Cathedral Bell Tower. If you doing it as part of the five attractions of the Cathedral complex then worth the visit but I think the three best attractions come with the "Green Ticket" €12 and include the Cathedral, Bell Tower & Treasury.
Miles M — Google review
Wonderfull!! It is dedicated to the Ancient Roman god Jupiter and was built between 295 and 305, during the construction of the Palace, and was probably turned into a Baptistery of St. John the Baptist in the 6th century. The Temple has one of the twelve sphinxes brought from Egypt by Emperor Diocletian in the entrance.
Nida Ö — Google review
It’s part of Split’s UNESCO World Heritage area and open to visitors — you can step inside, admire the ancient vaulting, and see the blend of Roman and early medieval art. The Temple in Split is one of the best-preserved Roman buildings in the city and a small but fascinating remnant of Diocletian’s Palace, built around the year 300 AD.
Cristian G — Google review
I was a little under whelmed by this site. There is not much inside although the ceiling is interesting. It is old and dates back to the Roman time when the had statues of the god Jupiter, but that doesn’t exist. You can skip this one and save a little money on the ticket price.
Simon R — Google review
Actually, almost nothing truly interesting to see. It makes sense only to buy the bundle of different locations passes (such as treasury, cathedral and crypt). Don't forget to mention your student status, if you are one (costs half the price of the adult ticket).

The Split Ethnographic Museum, established in 1910, offers a fascinating insight into the traditional costumes, crafts, and culture of the Dalmatian Coast. The museum's collection originated from the Split Craft School and features ethnographic materials gathered by Kamilo Toncic. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing local women's products, folk costumes from various parts of Dalmatia, and works created by pupils of the school.
Free entrance with your (free )Split Card. Beautiful part of the old town. Exhibits are in Croatian and English and feature mostly traditional clothing, jewelry and furniture. Worth an hour of your time. The building itself is gorgeous.

The staff are friendly and entry is free if you have the Split tourist card, which is itself free if you are staying for 5 nights. It is a huge space inside the historic walls of Diocletian Palace, so, even if it's busy, you won't feel crowded.
Nigel M — Google review
Very quiet when I visited, I guess more tourists go for the boat trips, but I came to Split for the history & culture. I've been to Ethnographic museums in many countries around the World. The emphasis of the exhibition here is on the traditional costums worn by dalmatian & coastal people in previous centuries. But I would like to have learnt more about how people lived and worked in those times.

If you have interest in cultural textiles, definitely visit this museum. They have many gorgeous examples of historical dress! You can also access the remains of the Church of St Andrew de Fenestris from inside.

The best museum in Split! Great exhibition of regional historical costume and other local cultural history. Well laid out and spacious, and has an outside terrace with chairs to enjoy the view. The Archaeological Museum in Split is a treasure trove of diverse artifacts housed in an estate-like space with a garden. It features primitive jewelry, tools, mosaics, and historical sculptures from nearby Solin, the precursor to modern-day Split. The museum's collections offer insight into the evolution of technology and enduring human ideas.
Wonderful place for anyone interested in the Roman archaeological finds in this area. An impressive but randomly organised collection of stone carvings displayed around the sides of a quadrangle. Sarcophagi, Headstones etc some as old as first century. A small indoor collection of artifacts in the main building is less interesting with French but no English descriptions. I understand this is because it's sponsored by the French government. In the interior of the quadrangle are reproduced Roman stoneworks; less interesting than the original pieces around the sides. I was amazed to be the only person there during my visit. There are labels on many of the items in English, but for more detailed information you can scan the QR codes for audio.
Miles M — Google review
I loved this place and want to give it five stars but most of the information inside is in Croatian only and not English. The outside takes as much time and is filled with excellent archeological finds from the area. Inside, various rooms are divided into eras and themes. One of the rooms is dedicated to caves that served as retreats and meditation centers which I wish had the information provided in English. I had to use my phone to get an idea of some of the information. Upstairs there are some more modern pieces and history of the building.
Thomas W — Google review
Quite a bad museum to be honest. Their collection is impressive as the nearby roman site is of some significance. Yet, nothing is contextualized and very little is explained. The building housed a small exhibition which when we were there was the best part. Otherwise it's just scattered objects and parked electrical scooters.
Floris H — Google review
The museum currently has a temporary exhibit of burial artifacts inside the building and hundreds of Roman artifacts outside in the main courtyard. The free audio guides (website via QR codes) are very informative and interesting. €8 per adult to enter or €10 for both this museum and the Salona Archeological site.
Chris Y — Google review
Well... When you are used to Italian museums this one has not much to offer. It's just a small garden and 4 rooms on the ground floor. Maybe for the real hardcore fans of Croatian B.C. burial grounds... But always nice to give a small contribution (€8) to the local culture.
Al R — Google review
Interesting place, but some of the exhibitions lack some kind of direction and explanation. Especially the one about the tombstones, an explanation about its content (if they only talk about the person or how they died, why there are no dates, etc.), or the shortcuts like HMHNS or DM. The Medusa exhibition corrected this mistake, but it seemed like it lacked funding. The exhibitions would be nice if they had more depictions, simply showing broken pieces of amphorae and vessels seems lazy. But I believe this is due to the lack of funding. I wish that such important subject that Archeology is ok gets better funding and people have more space to execute finer ideas in the discipline of museum showcasing.
Karel Č — Google review
8 euros is too expensive for such a small museum. Almost nothing inside. If you are interested in Latin inscription and Roman Dalmatian history, it’s a good place. If not, let it go.

Mixed feelings, the Roman artefacts in the garden are interesting but only some of them are well labelled. The building itself is beautiful but the temporary exhibition inside was small and boring.

It's also a great place to stay if you're in town for a game or any of the city's events and cultural attractions like music festivals. Located just outside of Old Town, it offers easy access to the city center without the noise and crowds. Visiting Poljud Stadium in Split for a league game was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere here is absolutely electric—home team fans are incredibly passionate, creating an energy that’s contagious. Yes, the stadium logistics might be a bit outdated, but the incredible vibe more than makes up for it. ST Burek is a renowned establishment in Split, operating since 1983 and offering some of the best burek pastries in the area. This savory snack features flaky filo dough filled with various ingredients like meat, potatoes, cheese, and spinach. It's a popular choice for a quick and affordable meal in Split, with generous portions priced at less than $3. The small shop is known for its traditional lunch menu and is often recommended for takeout due to limited seating.
Best Burek ever! Highly recommend! We had the meat, chicken, and cheese and all were fabulous. My mum had a slice of pizza that was also very tasty! Lovely staff and a great experience! Worth a visit when in Split.

Good borek - we got meat and potato. He gives you a generous slice. The pastry was flaky. Could be filled with more meat but overall really enjoyed. Good for grab and go!
Beatrice G — Google review
This was hands down one of the best street food experiences we had in Croatia — and easily the best value. For just €3 you get a huge piece of Burek, a golden puff pastry made of delicate, buttery layers stuffed with either meat or cheese. My wife and I split one beef and one cheese, and while both were tasty, the meat one was our favorite. Be warned though — these are filling. For the price of a coffee elsewhere in Europe, you’ll be full for hours on something that tastes remarkable. What made the experience even better was the hospitality. The guys at the counter were super friendly and laid-back — even something as simple as filling our water bottle was met with kindness, which isn’t always the case in places like Italy or France. Their easygoing vibe and genuine warmth made the stop even more memorable. Delicious food, unbeatable price, and authentic hospitality — I’d come back just for them. Highly recommend!

There is a reason why this business has been around for 40 years - it is quick, filling, and delicious street food. It is a small place that offers street service, counter service take-away, or counter service and have a seat at one of the few tables. There are several options, but depending on when you arrive, there may not be many choices left - it must sell out fast when it opens. We were lucky enough to get the last piece with meat. It reminded me of a traditional meat pie, but made of great tasting Philo dough. A great local choice. Thanks.

It is a tradition for audiences to dress up for the occasion. The largest theater in the region was constructed under Mayor Gaj Bulat's order and has an interior designed by Italian artist Eugenio Scomparini. The theater opened in 1893 with performances transitioning from Italian-language drama to Croatian.

Friendly staff, easy to figure out especially if you don’t speak much of the local language! I was confused about doors vs start time, but for my event, the doors were at the time stated on the ticket (20:00), and then the event started 5 minutes later (20:05). There wasn’t much info online about dress code, but I recommend not wearing shorts or anything above the knee, as most were wearing trousers and longs dresses. Definitely smart/smart casual. The Croatian Maritime Museum, nestled in the courtyard of the historic Gripe Fortress, offers an intimate look at Split's seafaring tradition. This almost hidden gem showcases maritime relics and art, including model ships and images of sailing boats from ancient times to the age of steam. The museum's collection highlights the deep connection between Split and Dalmatia with the ocean, featuring exhibits on ship development and nautical equipment.
Very reasonably priced entrance. 7.0 euros for 2. IT didn't disappoint. Great maritime history with some information boards in England. A vast amount of history to enjoy not much reading. Did the whole museum I an hour. You could take longer if you stopped at each item. Was split into civilian, military and outside. Outside had part of a huge ship you could get on perfect opertunity for a photo. And the ship was made in the isle of white. Lovely place, no cafe or anything but it was air conditioned so we didn't mind :)

Must see museum in Split, suitable for all audiences. The VR experience is interesting and immersive. All the exhibits are charming in their way, but the ship replicas take the cake. Just for 3.5€ it's an amazing experience. Don't miss the ship outside! P.S. free parking is available in the courtyard if you're lucky and find a spot, it's mostly used by the locals

Very interesting museum showing history of both military and civilian shipping along Croatian coast. Just outside of historic centre of Split so not crowded. I enjoyed my visit.
David H — Google review
Wonderful museum which I had almost to myself. One of the staff "Petra" spent a lot of time with me explaining some of the historical events that shaped modern Croatia, her time, knowledge and passion was very much appreciated. The museum covers many aspects of Maritime history with scale models of ships, paintings, engines/motors and many items related to seafaring traditional. Coming from England I was particularly interested in the room dedicated to the development of the first self-propelled torpedo perfected by the British engineer "Robert Whitehead" working in Rijeka. A small outdoor exhibition includes examples of traditional boat building, you also get good views across Split from the Fortress walls. Finally the self-operated VR show is not to be missed. An instruction manual is provided. A bit tricky to get going but once you've got the hang of it, well worth it. With the Stuka, submerged aircraft you really feel your underwater exploring the wreck and moving in three dimensions. For everything you get with this free VR show and exhibitions this museum is excellent value for money, and even a discount for Seniors.

Theo C — Google review
The museum is interesting. We spent two hours there. Many exhibits were truly fascinating. With the Split Card, you get a 50% discount. I highly recommend visiting this museum.
Magdalena M — Google review
Wonderful museum. 1.80€ for students. Very worth it. Interesting exhibits with a Lot to learn about croatian shipbuilding.
Paul M — Google review
Small, quiet, cool, and super interesting with exhibits on deep sea wrecks, virtual reality visits to underwater sites, the role of women in ship building, naval warfare, commercial seafaring and, of course, torpedos. We came here to escape the heat and are so pleased we did.

Music Festivals
Every summer, the vibrant city of Split transforms into a pulsating hub of electronic music for three exhilarating days during the Ultra Europe Festival. Since its inception in 2013, this outdoor extravaganza has become one of Europe's premier music events, attracting an international crowd eager to dance to the beats of legendary DJs like David Guetta and Armin Van Buuren.
Park Mladeži (RNK Split Stadium) will forever be one of the wildest and most unforgettable places I’ve ever been. I was there in 2018 during the World Cup, the same night Croatia beat Russia to move into the semi-finals, and the entire city of Split absolutely lost its mind in the best way possible. People poured into the streets celebrating singing, waving flags, climbing on cars you could feel the pride of the entire country. Then somehow, that crazy night rolled straight into Ultra Europe at this stadium, and the energy didn’t stop once. Walking into Park Mladeži with thousands of people from all over the world, music blasting, fireworks going off, it was unreal. I’ll never forget standing there as the sun was rising and “Zombie” came on. The whole stadium was singing together. It was one of those rare, perfect travel moments you feel in your soul. If you ever get the chance to experience Ultra here do it. Split, Croatia, this stadium pure magic.
Rachel F — Google review
Unfortunately, Ultra did not meet expectations. The entrance process was disorganized, and there was a significant delay due to a shortage of wristbands. The sound system was triable, which negatively impacted the overall experience. Additionally, the restroom facilities were in very poor condition, and the VIP area felt overcrowded and l lighting were visually irritating. It was also concerning to see a heavy presence cops instead of event security personnel, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere rather than a sense of safety. Overall, several key aspects of the event require serious improvement to meet the standards expected at such a high profile festival
Lama — Google review
Even though the stadium is a great place for concerts and games to be held, it’s in bad condition. The concrete is all worn out, floodlights are metal halide instead of LED and the posts on which they are mounted have rust. Also, since it’s open, finding shade is a big challenge when sunny and noise spreads during events.
The E — Google review
Ultra Europe new venue. Better than the stadium cuz of acoustics. Stadium had echo.

Marina
Matejuška is a small cove near Split's Riviera, historically used as a boat dock by local fishermen. Nowadays, it's a popular hangout for both locals and tourists, especially young adults who gather to enjoy drinks and music against the backdrop of the sea. The area also hosts a fresh fish market on its western side, open from early morning until late evening.
An easy going promenade where people of Split relax, drink beer (bought in a nearby liquorshop), enjoy in the sun, chatting and people-watching. The views of the old city centre and the harbour are priceless.
Mirko S — Google review
Very walkable and pleasant. Lots to see and enjoy while taking in the fresh air by the waterside.
Philip S — Google review
Lovely place for a walk outside the Riva, it's a small harbour area with many boats and tour cruises. There's a few monuments, and you can get a phenomenal panorama view of Split.
Mat B — Google review
Matejuška is the quieter, more calm side of Split’s waterfront. Once a traditional fishing harbor, it still keeps that local charm with small boats, fishermen, and a relaxed vibe.
J — Google review
Beach is beautiful with shade trees covering half the beach. If you get too much sun you can retreat a few feet from the water but not get burned. Local shops have all the food and beach supplies you will need.
Jeff H — Google review
Nice little port
Leonardo P — Google review
This is one of my favorite places to visit in Split, Croatia. The views are beautiful, and the atmosphere is very appealing.
EMMA C — Google review
A very nice harbour within the city. Great for a short afternoon break and ice cream after visiting the palace. Lush green park with plenty of benches line up to the stone walkway where tour boates are ready to take you for sight seeing.

The Saint Domnius Bell Tower in Split offers a stunning panoramic view of the city from its top, making it a must-visit attraction. Climbing to the top is worth the effort, as visitors are rewarded with breathtaking views of Split's Old Town and beyond. The ticket price is reasonable at only 20 kunas, providing great value for an unforgettable experience.
The Saint Domnius Bell Tower in Split offers one of the best views of the city and the surrounding areas. It’s part of Saint Domnius Cathedral, and though the climb is a bit steep with narrow steps, it’s totally worth it once you reach the top. From up there, you get breathtaking panoramic views of Split, the coastline, and even nearby islands. The tower itself is quite impressive, with its Romanesque design and beautiful stonework. The bell at the top adds to its charm and history, and it’s cool to imagine how much the area has changed since it was built. Though the climb can be a bit of a workout and you are not allowed to bring your water with you (they make you place it outside the steps before going in), the scenic views and the sense of history make it a highlight of the visit. Definitely don’t skip it if you’re in Split!
K E — Google review
The bell tower of Saint Domnius is the city's main symbol. You can climb the steps all the way to the top of the bell tower, where a wonderful view of the entire Split awaits you. There is paid entry, but it's not much and worth the walk up!
Mat B — Google review
Excellent 360 degree views across the city and port. The initial part of the climb is a bit tricky with deep stone steps and no hand railings on part of it. However once you get past these steps, the tower opens out and you have a good broad metal stairway to take you the rest of the way to the top. Definitely worth doing.
Miles M — Google review
GO FIRST THING to beat crowds! Well worth the climb up the steps for the view. Note that some passageways up are extremely narrow and very steep. This is not accessible at all if you struggle with stairs.
Danita B — Google review
Climbing the bell tower is a highlight of any visit to Split. The ascent is steep and narrow, but the reward is sweeping views over the city and coast. It’s a tight climb, but the sense of history and the photo ops at the top make it absolutely worth it.
Karl W — Google review
Amazing experience, loved it.great views and quirky staircase leading to the top. Good price at 7 euros. However students get access for 3.5 euro.
Kieran W — Google review
The views from the top of the bell tower are the highlight of the cathedral visit and definitely worth cutting the multi-site ticket that includes the tower. It is a climb up but the view of the city and port make it all worth while.
Simon R — Google review
It is quite a climb up the stairs but the view from atop the bell tower is definitely worth it. You can see all over the city.

Cocktail bar
Bar
NOOR Fine Spirits & Cocktails is a cozy spot with an impressive selection of cocktails, spirits, and liquors. The intimate interior can accommodate around 20 people, and there's even a small staircase that doubles as a terrace for warm summer evenings. Guests rave about the lively atmosphere created by the multi-talented bartender who also acts as host, entertainer, DJ, and more.
One of the best cocktails I’ve ever tried!! They have a fancy record menu with loads of combination of spirits and bitters I’ve never even heard of, but later I also asked the cocktail master to make a negroni and it was delicious. My friends were praising the pink fat bast*rd cocktail. Everything is so reasonably priced at €12-€14 per drink, considering sometimes you pay the same for a terrible watered down one elsewhere. It felt like such a personal experience as the bar is quite small and dark. We even got chatting to the owner who also owns the restaurant opposite, and he gave us loads of recommendations for places to see. Overall, would love to come back and try more!!
Marta C — Google review
NOOR was so much fun! Our Mixologist, Tihi, was very knowledgeable and made unique cocktails to our taste. The intimate environment was so sophisticated. I would also recommend dining at the restaurant across the alley called “Mazzgoon”. It is under the same ownership. I would seek out this cocktail bar without any hesitation!
Matt D — Google review
The BEST BAR IN SPLIT!! Small and intimate, the owner is an amazing man, highly talented as a mixologist, and a true entertainer. You will love ❤️ 😍 your time here. Tell him Peter sent you.... for a little extra!!
Peter A — Google review
This place is a hidden gem. The choice of cocktails and the expertise of the mixologists who work here, will definitely have you coming back time and time again. We visited here for a few pre-dinner cocktails and the mixologists were very helpful with their recommendations (one right after the other and all very much appreciated). Thank you for a very pleasant evening.
A. B — Google review
Tihi is a professional. Amazing mixologist. For people who appreciate the art of cocktails. Asked me 2 questions - fav liquor & served sweet or dry. He served a labyrinthine of taste & flagrance in a globe glass. I wish I’d asked for the recipe! Perfect place to go for a night cap or 3🤭
Ak D — Google review
Best place in Split for cocktails. Watching the cocktails get made was just as good as their taste. Highly recommend this place. Go early, when it's not too busy and talk with the bartenders about Croatian liquor and drinks. This was a really fun spot.
Steve R — Google review
Great cocktail bar. Tihi made us feel very comfortable and made great drinks. Definitely recommend it. Went twice in one day. Once he knew us, it was like we were members of the family.
John L — Google review
Legit and original place for cocktails in Split, Croatia. Good music, cocktail, and ambience. Part of a famous restaurant in a narrow street but definitely non-touristy, and decent place for having cocktails here in Split. The interiors are nice, and the cocktail maker is really knowledgeable and also plays good music. Definitely a try, if you looking for a good cocktail bar.
