A family friendly place with great food and great atmosphere. Indoors the restaurant is air-conditioned, while the outside seating areas have overhead fans for air circulation. We had fish stew and fried fish, they were great and we highly recommend anything made from catfish, it's their specialty apparently. As a side, picked red onions were nice and sweet. The only downside was my potatoes were slightly cold, but they were still nicely seasoned and very tasty. One additional thing that's worth praising is that there is a special separated place for smokers so that they don't disturb anyone's meal with cigarette smoke.

Authentic Szeged style fish soup, professional waiters and a wonderful master cook in the kitchen. This is a place to go for one of the best food in Szeged! The little lake makes it charming and even more authentic. Definitely coming back when I'm in Szeged next time.

Interesting and nice restaurant because of the outside terrace and traditional kitchen with Terrace has a view to the lake. We did not had the chance to sit outside cause weather was not very friendly. Food is good although is not my type of cooking. We tried the traditional fish soup for that region and fried carp fish. Soup was made from three different types of fish as the traditional receipt says :) served in big bucket for four people. Bread is very good. Apple Rakiq-we enjoyed for sure. In general we had a good experience there. Definitely is a place to visit.

Consistently delicious food at very reasonable prices. We go for breakfast often and it’s always fresh and beautifully prepared. Great service too although do be advised you need to order inside at the counter. Would definitely recommend this place!!

A nice location, but the food is mid. Don’t get the spanish omlette, it has nothing to do with a tortilla de patatas. They don’t serve you, you have to go order and pay inside.

This is a gem. We first came here three years ago, on the recommendation of a Hungarian colleague. We loved it then, and it's still as amazing. The fish soup is special, but so is everything else, fish, flesh and fowl. And the portions are good, almost too large! Great value for money. We'll be back!

We tried the Szeged-style fish soup, and the portion was generous with plenty of fish. The catfish was my favorite, it was tender and flavorful. I wasn’t too impressed with the bread, though; it didn’t taste fresh and seemed like it might have been store-bought (although they did provide a lot of it). The atmosphere was pleasant and the setting comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient.

Fantastic traditional hungarian fish dishes. Sizes: you will not stay hungry for sure, but all left overs are packed if requested. Quick and excellent service. Highly recommend. Try "Harcsapaprikás with túrós csusza" - one of the best on the world.

tried the fish paprikás with pasta and cheese. The flavors leaned heavily on paprika and flour-thickened, making it feel a bit one-dimensional. While the portion was generous and filling, the overall taste was only average and lacked balance. Unfortunately, the experience was also affected by an unwelcoming and impolite waiter, which diminished the enjoyment of the location

Very good fish soups, amazing bread, good food and excellent service. Each time we pass Szeget we stop there for the excellent meal. The prices are slightly expensive but considering the amount of food and quality, it seems ok.

Delicious cocktails. I had the purple gin and tonic and pink gin and tonic. The burgers were amazing. Highly recommend the Szeged burger. Service was great, family friendly atmosphere.

Overall, a great experience! The crispy chicken tortilla was delicios, the fries amazing, however the smash burger was not the traditional smashed (the meat was quite thick) and it had that weird beefy taste. The cocktails - THE BEST. The service was great, polite and nice.

Both the food and the beer here are amazing!!! It's inexpensive and cozy, so a great place to visit with either your family or your mates.

There are so many options in menu (also for vegetarian). I ate Szeged Burger and it was very delicious, you must try that. But my main advices are craft beers. I tried DAB and one of with ginger (I forgot its name). They were perfect for me. And my last advice is Pina colada. If you like cocktails with sweet, you should try that. Atmosphere was chill and we felt in cozy place 🤗

Cool beer garden in the heart of Szeged. Very nice staff, great food and good selection of beer. They have indoor and outdoor seats but the outdoor space is mostly full. Recommended to make a reservation for the weekend but if you are lucky you can find table.

Good pizza and nice selection of beers. The reason why I’m not rating this place better is because of the way they are treating customers. If they mistakenly bring you a wrong pizza and you take a bite it is expected that you either eat it or order a new one paying for it, because they can’t give it to the right person. This is not acceptable, if you make a mistake you have to make up for it for the customer.

They have charged me 4500 huf for two shots of palinka, i know palinka is a cheap alcoholic drink and i was surprised for this price for just two shots, maybe they overcharged me coz i don't speak Hungarian although i live here I'm not tourist and i know these prices are high locally, never going there again, and outdoor seating places not comfortable and kind of small,

They have the best hamburger in the town, and I mean it. It's tasty, it's juicy, the meat is always perfect, seductive in all aspects. It's a mistake to skip this experience. You can also have your burger with chicken and as I remember, you can find a vega burger too. They have nice drinks as well.

I love the atmosphere of the place but I didn't enjoy the burger. It was really just meh for me and my friend. The sauce that they have (not in the picture) seemed like home made relish of some sort that was really watery and not tasty.

Surprisingly this was one place where they served us burger out of this world. Not only were the burghers huge but also very tasty. They also had a selection of beers to satisfy every taste. The presentation of the food was to say the least interesting with the burger served in a wooden tablet withe the knife stuck in the centre of the burger.

An absolutely amazing place to have breakfast/brunch, the atmosphere is great, lots of trees and overall a cozy place. Hands down, Suti nem suti is the best place for coffee and Hungarian style cakes, pastries and more in the city of Szeged. The place is cosy with outdoor seating. Staff here are friendly and will patiently explain or answer any question.

Firstly, the atmosphere in this place is extremely nice. Very cosy and warm. The decor is quite vintage. Overall, the aesthetic is pleasing. The staff who work here are extremely friendly, and always give a helping hand to pick what dish to chose. Along with Hungarian, they all seem to speak conversational English too. Last but not least and certainly is the food. Each time I visit there seems to be something different. Their daily soups are must try!

Nice place in center, shaded by the traffic. We had pizzas and they did the thin version which was well done. Waiters spoke English which is quite rare since here most of the time restaurants have one speaking English waiter. The service was quite fast.

Great Restaurant with nice and friendly staff. You have to wait a little bit until you get your food, but it is totally worth it. My cappuccino location choice of the day (tripping) from Budapest on a Thursday. You have to be looking for it because this place is a bit hidden off a square in the courtyard of bldgs with a lot of outdoor seats. Two or three small tables inside. Quaint is the word I would use. I wish I had time to take their coffee class.

A really top notch coffee served here! A peaceful corner in a busy area to relax or have a break. I wish they also sold desserts or pastry. Still, you can find choco muffins and Isler (a cookie desert with apricot or some other jam). Quick, friendly service. Barista wrote several books and has awards, he definitely knows what he does!

We randomly ran into this place and absolutely loved it! I highly recommend the carrot cake and the saher cake - they are perfectly balanced so they’re not too sweet, and very delicious! The cappuccino was also really creamy 😊 If you can, take a seat by the window, the view is lovely

A very nice cafe nearby Szegedi Dóm. The cafe’s design and decoration are really cool although the space is not too big. They have outdoor seating during warmer season. In winter time, the cafe’s decorations are really nice for Christmas vibes. The prices here are not too expensive, coffees are really good and the cakes/desserts are tasty as well. They have quite nice selections of desserts. Pumpkin spice lattes are also available during autumn months. A quick stop here is recommended if you wanna have some afternoon or evening tea/coffees with friends. Recommended!

Addicted to their chia desszert in its own glass jar. I also love the sugar and gluten free options which are so tasty but not super sweet and full of calories. It is usually hard to find healthy sweet options in Hungary but this place is five star. Very nice staff and beautiful view of cathedral.

The cakes and the drinks are just as sweet as the shop looks from the outside. The interior is super cute as well. They have a big selection of super amazingly presented cakes and bakery and a small selection of ice cream. We have had a mango-cottage cheese cake, a pistachio-raspberry cake, an iced coffee and an espresso tonic (they have just called it a tonic with coffee). There is a variety of hot and cold drinks available. Everything tasted heavenly and the price is quite down to earth as well. We surely will be back when we are visiting Szeged next time!

Excellent patisserie in the Hungarian city of Szeged. I live in Sofia (Bulgaria), and even though it’s the capital, we don’t have anything close to this level and quality. Through the glass you can see the pastry kitchen where they make croissants and other baked goods. The selection is large—there’s something for every taste. I had the quiche Lorraine—the best I’ve ever had. They warmed it up and served it with a salad—it was delicious. We also had cappuccinos, lattes, and croissants—everything was tasty. We took a loaf of bread home. The staff were friendly and attentive. Katalin and Niki ♥️♥️. Highly recommend.

Good cafe at the downtown area, close to Mars ter. They have plenty of pastries options and taste good. The price for me is a little bit higher than other places but understandable due to its quality. The service is fast and the place is clean, good place or breakfast or brunch.

This is a really good breakfast/brunch/bakery place in Szeged. They are quite famous nationwide. It's a good bakery, they use their own sourdough and you can see how stuff's made through a glass wall. There are breakfast and lunch meals, sandwiches etc. Everything is good. Bit on the pricy end but the quality is well above the usual Hungarian bakeries. They also sell pickles and other fermented stuff, and good coffee. I'm a Budapest-based lawyer but whenever I have a case in Szeged I always make sure to stop by.

As a true Eggs Benedict lover, I have to say I had the best one ever here – absolutely unbeatable! The matcha was top quality as well, smooth and perfectly balanced. I just can’t recommend this place enough. The staff were so kind, friendly, and always smiling, which made the whole experience even better. The space was very clean and cozy. I honestly can’t put into words how amazing this visit was.

We ordered two egg breakfasts with added avocado and Hungarian sausage. The Hungarian sausage portion was quite small—probably no more than 50 grams—and the scrambled eggs were more like an omelette. That said, the overall flavor was decent, and the pickles were a standout—very tasty. Coffee was good too. Unfortunately, the waitress entered the wrong order, so we had a long wait for our food. It wasn’t bad, but nothing particularly special either. Next time I’m in Szeged, I’ll probably try a different spot.

The waitress was fast and very kind. The interior has a nice atmosphere. I ordered a pizza and a soup. I didn't like the pizza as the edge was thick, approximately 1 1/2 inches but the dough in the center was very thin and tasted soggy. It was not crispy at all. The toppings and overall taste were good. The soup was delicious and had lots of meat. The pricing is rather on the higher side. They offer seating outside and inside.

We had lunch here on a Friday. It’s a small place which has a family run atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. I had carbonara which was very tasty. I really enjoyed it. Great portion size too. Sometimes people make the portion too big but this was perfect for me. The shrimp salad was also great. I enjoyed the place a lot and would definitely go again.

Accidentally stumbled upon this place because we noticed the pizzas from a distance. Absolutely delicious food and amazing ambience. Staff is friendly, and as a Dutch person these prices were ridiculously worth the food and drinks we got. I highly recommend this place. According to my boyfriend the pistachio tiramisu was one of the best desserts he ever had. Highly recommend!

Cakes are great again for those especially who don't want to get sugar poisoning (most Hungarian confectioneries serve over sweet desserts). Coffee is strong and tastes just fine. The atmosphere is pleasant, the place 'where the locals go', students, families, 60+, so if you would like a centrally located but 'secret' place to grab something sweet or salty (the scones are delicious too), this is it!

Honestly this is the best confectionery in Szeged. Their ice creams are awesome. They cakes are tasty. The place is a bit small for the crowd. It's a very popular place but they have only 5-8 tables. The waitresses are nice. I think the prices are lower than the other places. It's better but cheaper than the other places I know. Anyway, this is the greatest. :D

I still remember to the great pizzas I ate here, is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. For some reason the quality dropped a lot compared to like 3 or 4 weeks ago, the dough was more like chewy than crunchy, for some reason the dough was also smaller than the last ones I ate. I am disapointed because the pizzas here were amazing, but that period is pretty much over. Price not equals quality here anymore, but the price is of course big, time to move on.

It WAS the best pizza in town in the past 20 years but the quality of the pizzas (especially the dough - as mentioned by another reviewer “the dough was more like chewy than crunchy/dry”) decreased significantly while the prices are up in the sky.. It must be due to changes in the staff. Such a disappointment :( The tomato sauce is still good though.

This is my favorite pizza place in this city. Be aware though that the pizza in Hungary is not what you would get in Italy or New York City. Good value for the money. Good to call ahead being a small but busy place. Customer service is better than average.

Interesting, but very tasty and big burger. This place has been around since 1989 and is a Hungarian version of hamburgers. Lots av burgers to choose from and you can also build your own. I had a "Maffia" and it was yummy! Very friendly and swift service.

I believe Don Quujote Pizzéria bakes the best pizza in Szeged, and, as an international student studying at the university here, I have tried several places. The food is served promptly, and the staff members are courteous. Additionally, the price is inexpensive, particularly when considering the quality of the product. Meanwhile, the atmosphere is quiet and not intrusive at all. Naturally, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys pizza.

Good pizza for really good price, my boyfriend wouldn’t shut up about it. Nice interior. And everything you need to know is on the menu eg. extra topping prices, switching topping etc. makes it much easier to order.

Pizza was good but the staff was super unfriendly. The neapolitan-style pizza is amazing, and the selection of artisan beers is fantastic. Plus, the vibe is super chill and relaxed.

A good place to grab a delicious pizza and drink a special beer. If you're a fan of special beer this is definitely worth a visit, they have a big selection of canned beers from all over the world and even when you're an avid untappd user you'll find beers you haven't tasted that will surprise you. If you're not a fan of beer you should still visit this place cuz the fresh pizzas are worth a visit by themselves!

That means not the pedestrian zone (Kárász Street and the squares, which it connects), but the old Shopping Centre behind the seat of the University in Szeged. The surroundings and the place itself is nicely renewed. It's an interesting solution, that the restaurant is on two levels: Ground level and Basement level. That makes much more place available for the visitors. The toilets are placed on the Basement level, which doors can be opened only with the code, you receive on your receipt. The restaurant is clean and calm, the personnel is really taking care of it - it's seeable and realizable, indeed. The Sandwiches and the Pommesfrites are always fresh and tasty, much-much-much better, than those by McDonald's! The only thing, which disturbes me in all BurgerKing restaurants is (especially according to the McDonald's restaurants), that the meals are always getting ready extremely slowly...

Ok nothing special.. it's little narrow cause chairs and tables occupied a lot of space so you have to constatly excuse people to move so you can pass by. Wheelchair accessible yes but if you want to go to toilet forget about it the toilet is downstairs.. communication while ordering is ok they speak English..
