Percy and Percy is a charming café located just outside the CBD, featuring a lovely courtyard and cozy interior. Owners Elisha and Dan prioritize using the finest local ingredients, including milk from a nearby dairy and produce from local grocers. The café's relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely Sunday morning. With ample outdoor seating and a snug backyard area, it offers a welcoming environment for both visitors and their furry friends.
We really enjoyed our drinks particularly at Percy and Percy this morning! It’s near where we are staying and the vanilla latte and hot chocolate were very good! We liked the touch of the drinks coming with a Tiny Teddy too. We ate breakfast there too, with $3 for an additional egg being a bargain and there were no big breakfasts, but everything was a decent size. The serving girl didn’t enjoy her job, but was still friendly with us and there was a great view in the autumn outside by the coloured trees.

I really loved this cafe, a great spot for a nice and calm lunch! The Percy Cheeseburgers were juicy with lots of flavour, and the fresh apple juice was better than the supermarkets' apple juice. The food could have come a bit faster, but it was understandable considering the amount of people there. The tables were clean, the staff were nice, and despite the mass amount of customers, had a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend anyone to bring a friend or two here.
Andy L — Google review
Great place, lovely atmosphere, wasn’t too thrilled with the Persian eggs I ordered. Amazing selection of cakes and deserts on display, tried the carrot cake and loved it, it was fresh and tasty! Coffee was good. Just slightly disappointed with the toast and eggs.
Zared P — Google review
Great service, beautiful cafe, BLAT was delicious and great special price! Not giving 5 stars only because my brewed chai tea cost $8.7 (soy milk) and I think it’s way too much. This is the reason I don’t drink anymore coffee/tea when I go out. The place is really nice!
Durga R — Google review
Delicious breakfast and coffee! We had the Persian eggs (swapped tomatoes to mushrooms) and Greens eggs & ham. Staff were really friendly and accomodating with ingredient changes. Rest of the menu and cabinet looked great also
Kay K — Google review
They have mostly communal seating here, we were 'lucky enough ' to be seated at the same table as a grizzly child. Thankfully the parents were fantastic and got the child under control, so we were able to enjoy our breakfast. Hubby had the poached eggs, bacon, with tomato, spinach, feta and dukkah (can't remember what it was called) and I had the poached eggs on toast. Literally 2 eggs on one measly thin piece of sourdough toast - $15! The least they could have done is provided 1 piece of toast for each egg, for that sort of money! I had to pinch a piece of hubby's toast, otherwise I'd have gone hungry. Hubby enjoyed his big brekky at 8 Sisters Cafe alot more, but said the tomatoes were nice!
Sue A — Google review
I normally just pop in for a coffee here, whilst I’m working, and it is a fantastic coffee... But having a day off, I decided to come in for a feed. I ordered a bacon and egg roll and a homemade hash brown, which were absolutely fantastic. The egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was a thicker cut. The homemade hash brown was crunchy and flavourful. Service was lovely, the staff were genuinely happy to be there, and catered to my needs promptly. Highly recommended

Amazing food, I just loved it. We ordered a vegetarian bagel and ravioli and I have to say the ravioli was just perfect. Definitely try this cafe if you are going to Bendigo.

Wine Bank On View is a sophisticated wine bar located in a heritage building in Bendigo. Housed in the 1876 former Union Bank building, it offers a world-class selection of wines from around the globe. The venue boasts an international wine list and is known for its wealth of wine knowledge. Visitors can enjoy the elegant ambiance while savoring fine wines.
What a stunning spot! Housed in a beautifully restored 19th‑century bank building, the architecture is absolutely breathtaking and sets the tone for a truly memorable experience. The wine selection is exceptional — over a thousand labels from local Bendigo and Heathcote regions, plus some rare international finds. So thoughtfully curated and perfect for every kind of wine lover. The menu complements the wines beautifully, with a mix of Mediterranean-inspired and tapas-style dishes. Think warm Mt Zero olives, cheese, meats, and delicious bruschetta — perfect for grazing and sharing. And the service? Just lovely. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable — they really make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. A gorgeous venue with amazing wines, a great menu, and warm, genuine hospitality. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately, we had an unqualified barista on the day we attended who made one of the worst coffees in many a day. The iced coffees and alcohol free beer were very good however. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting and I will return and give them a second chance soon.
Bryce M — Google review
Great Atmosphere and Even Better Cocktails Loved the relaxed vibe at the Wine Bank. We sat out the front and watched the world go by — such a perfect spot. The highlight? The best spicy Margaritas I’ve ever had, made by Alister. Absolute perfection in a glass. Highly recommend for a laid back afternoon or evening drink

Came to Bendigo for the Freda Kahlo exhibition and stopped into Wine Bank for lunch. What a lovely little gem of a place!! Building steeped in history and has a beautiful atmosphere. Staff all very friendly and food was fantastic! We enjoyed the pasta special which was lamb ragu with stracciatelle pasta which was one of the best pasta meal's we have had! As good as any top Italian restaurant in Melbourne! Baked Camembert Cheese was totally indulgent and bruschetta with Onion Jam and Fetta and mushroom and truffle bruschetta absolutely divine! Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Bendigo! We will definitely make the trip back from Melbourne!

Toni was brilliant. She seated us, catered to our needs, the rest of the staff were amazing accommodating. Good was great. Next time I'm in Bendigo I will definitely be back. Thank you Toni for getting us a table

My best friend and I travelled down from Melbourne to Frida Kahlo and stumbled on the Wine Bank unbeknown to us it was the most popular bar in town. We took our seat in front of the bustling bar in front of a fire as there were no seats (obviously so popular) anyway, we watched as our mezcal Margherita was made and it was hands down the best Margherita I have ever had! Then I found out it was her own recipe!! Amazing. Followed by baked Camembert, prawns and charcuterie… wine bank.. we will be back!!!! Thank you
Paulette D — Google review
The wine and food are exceptional. It is a lovely atmosphere and the service was great. The staff were very helpful when choosing drinks and food. Their wine list is extensive and top quality at reasonable prices

Lovely, atmosphere, beautiful old building. Great range of wines the door was impeccable. The staff were lovely, we had kai as our waiter and he made us feel very at home with fun little jokes and being very attentive, we never had to ask for more water and he we very good at making sure we had everything we needed. It is very refreshing to feel so welcome and have every part of service run smoothly. Highly recommend that you give this place a visit for a nice lunch at a reasonable price and great service.

Cafe
El Gordo Bendigo is a popular tapas bar located in a hip laneway in Bendigo. It offers a diverse menu with Spanish flavors, including classics like Madrid style baked eggs and breakfast burritos. The owners, Chad and Hayley, are known for their window coffees for those on the go. In addition to its brunch offerings, El Gordo transforms into an authentic Mexican cuisine hotspot during lunch and dinner hours, serving up flavorful tacos, enchiladas, and other street food.
Saw great reviews and decided to give it a try….. INSANELY GOOD 👏 Ham & Cheese croissant was nicely toasted, pulled pork wrap was done just right and the bacon & egg roll is out of the world - flavours explosion!!!! Coffee is great and very friendly staffs.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and full of flavor, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Every plate was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. They were attentive without being pushy — really professional and kind. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. Clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely environment. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

What a delicious surprise this place was. Highly recommend the avocado (which is actually the best guacamole I ever tasted) with crispy delicious bacon on crusty sourdough. My son had peanut butter on toast, simple but delicious and creamy. My husband had the Spanish breakfast. Practically licked his plate. Coffee also exceptional. Lovely staff, especially the chef who I suspect is the owner. Unassuming little gem. Loved it and won’t go anywhere else for breakfast in Bendigo again!

Nice place. For a some reason food doesn’t taste very good. Coffees are really good.

Food was pretty good it was just slightly off the mark for me, didn’t nail the balance of flavour and seasoning for dishes that could blow you away. But great service!
Lucy — Google review
I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptionally delicious, offering a symphony of flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The ambiance added to the overall experience, with a stunning setting that was both inviting and picturesque. What stood out most, however, was the service. The staff was not only efficient but also incredibly friendly and charming, making our meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful culinary experience combined with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Tran N — Google review
Stumbled upon this place, isn't that always the best way on a dreary Saturday. Ate in the alleyway. Pleasant service and really delicious food. We choose simply because we were not that hungry. The banana bread with cinnamon butter was delicious and just the right amount of bready, the other item we tried was the three cheese toasty. High quality cheese, really well toasted. It is harder to do than one might imagine. I'd certainly recommend this place, the other food we saw came out looked fabulous. Go try this if you haven't!

Harvest Food & Wine in Bendigo offers a unique dining experience with a touch of Elvis nostalgia. The bistro-deli-cellar door serves up hearty meals like the Elvis breakfast and roast chicken, as well as more conventional options such as the Euro breakfast and pumpkin leek tart. As a cellar door for North Run Wine Co., it provides an opportunity to taste owner Lincoln Riley's wines along with other local and international selections.
This place deserves an award it’s just that good. Okay I’ve been here a few times now and you really need to get yourself a table and give it a try because besides the amazing coffee it’s food is absolutely fantastic, staff are super nice and I guess the hardest part is getting a park within the area because it’s a busy little road. I’ll end by saying “Hands down the best Roast chicken you will have”.
Jules C — Google review
I love the ambience but honestly the few times Ive come here, and maybe its the way I dress the staff are not friendly or welcoming Ive tried a few times and the food is a bit overpriced They also make you feel uncomfortable if you go the wrong area They have one area for coffee brunch etc and then another for lunch. Seems they have their favourite customers! They do have a reputation for being stand-offish but if you're cool and trendy and don't mind paying a little extra its the place for you Just have to get this off my chest
Pip — Google review
To begin with, Marsha is a certified legend. If hospitality had a hall of fame, she’d be front with a croissant in hand. Came here with friends. Next thing you know, we’re emotionally attached to a raspberry danish. The almond croissant..also dangerous. 🤤 Coffee was alright, but who cares when the pastries taste like they were hand-delivered by pastry angels? Staff are super cool and incredibly approachable. Marsha in particular goes above and beyond 10/10 would let this place ruin my diet again.
Pasha R — Google review
Coffee and food were great, so was the service. Take note though - The menu isn't a typical brunch menu you would expect to find in a cafe in Melb e.g. a big brekky, chilli eggs, eggs benedict etc, and wasn't very exciting. The only thing that appealed to us was the ham and cheese croissant which was delicious in all respect but it was $20.
Denise T — Google review
Went to harvest today for lunch with my wife. We had just been across the road seeing the Frida Kahlo exhibition. The food at harvest is so good. My wife had two small salads. The carrot and the beetroot. The carrot salad has these amazing tasty nuts with it. My wife let me try 1. I had the chicken in mole sauce with black rice seared corn and condiments. This was so good. The chicken was sooooo tasty. And the mole sauce was the best I have had in a long time. Hands down to the chef and all the staff at this establishment. Highly recommend if you are in the region
Antony H — Google review
Absolutely loved this spot for lunch and a wine. Food was delicious, great wine and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend a visit for somewhere with a good vibe and food that makes you do the happy dance.
Natalie — Google review
My daughter and I came here for a special outing and were told we could not sit at an empty, unreserved table near the window simply because we were “not two adults”. When questioned on this policy, they begrudgingly caved with an eye roll. I won’t be coming here again, with or without children. Why would anyone want to be treated so rudely while paying high prices for the privilege? The food is good but the environment is sadly quite toxic – I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome after the interaction and some of the staff seemed on edge too. Please do better.

Nestled on the edge of Lake Weeroona, Whitby Bendigo, also known as The Boardwalk, offers a picturesque setting for dining and events. The modern decor and outdoor seating provide a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy breakfast, sandwiches, and salads. Visitors can relax with their furry friends on the spacious outdoor deck while savoring delectable dishes like smashed avocado and fluffy pancakes.
This venue is a true gem. The food is consistently beautiful, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the views are lovely. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, from the moment you walk in to the cheerful wave goodbye as you leave. The portion sizes are generous, and the meals are clearly made with care and attention to detail. On one visit, there was a small mistake with my order, and the staff couldn’t have been more apologetic. They quickly fixed it and even took the initiative to offer a complimentary coffee, which honestly wasn’t necessary, but such a thoughtful gesture. We keep coming back, not just for the food, but for the level of service that really stands out. Some say the prices are a little higher than other local spots, but you're paying for quality: attentive service, a beautiful venue, carefully prepared and large portioned food, and a relaxing ambience with lovely views. They also offer fantastic vegan and gluten-free options, hands down one of the best vegan breakfasts in town. It’s fast become our go-to café, and we recommend it to everyone we know.
Marybel A — Google review
What a delight! The staff were so friendly and the room filled with plants, just amazing. Food and coffee? Top notch. Definitely not your average breakfast. Thanks for a lovely morning!
Sarah B — Google review
A lovely surprise. We were in Bendigo for the day with no thoughts about where to lunch, after a quick Google search chose Whitby for ease of parking and somewhere to walk the dog, as well as some enticing menu options. We were very pleased that the dog was welcome on the deck along with a doggie menu. Can highly recommend the mushroom ragu. The staff were also very attentive and friendly.
Peggy H — Google review
Like others have said, everything about this place was incredible. The last time my family of four visited this venue it was operated by a different cafe which was really great. So, having seen the change to Whitby's, we were initially apprehensive, wondering if we'd get the same great food and service. Well, we got a lot more than that. I've never experienced such genuine and efficient service before. The level of organisation and teamwork that was displayed made sure we were warmly welcomed, orders secured and food given in no time! The food was also on another level, the Waffles and the Benedict were amongst the tastiest of meals we've had. As stated by others, yes it is a little bit more costly than other options. But for a venue where both the service and food is exceptional, paired with lake views, it's definitely worth it.
Trent R — Google review
From the moment I stepped into Whitby in Bendigo, I was impressed. The service was exceptional – warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. It really set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Every dish was fresh, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. What really elevated the experience was the setting. I sat out on the deck overlooking the lake, and the view was simply stunning, especially on the clear, sunny day I visited. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food in a beautiful atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back – and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Whitby to anyone looking for a great meal and top-notch service in Bendigo!
Hassan — Google review
The service was spectacular! Staff was friendly, accomodating and polite. We felt welcome. They are very inclusive. I loved that I could bring my dog. They had dog treats. We sat down out in deck. The view was stunning. Food had high quality ingredients. It didn’t come out quickly. But it was worth it. Good conversations. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing that could make it even better is to have prep food for the dogs. As the only stock treats. Thank you!
Laura P — Google review
Lovely setting with thoughtful service! This café offers a beautiful view and a serene, relaxing ambiance—perfect for a quiet meal or coffee break. The waiter who looked after us was exceptionally polite and helpful, especially when guiding us on portion sizes, which we really appreciated as we try to avoid food waste. The coffee was enjoyable. We tried the calamari and the chicken salad—while the calamari wasn’t quite to our taste, the salad was fresh. Though the food didn’t completely wow us, the atmosphere and genuine hospitality make it a place I’d happily return to.
Deepmala M — Google review
Hands down one of the best cafes. The view, the food, the coffee, and the staff, everything was just perfect. I am definitely coming here again on my next trip to Bendigo.

I discovered a hidden gem in Bendigo and had an amazing solo dining experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. I ordered the Turkish eggs- absolutely delicious and beautifully light. The coffee was top-notch, and the fresh orange juice? So smooth and easy to drink, it was like velvet in a glass! Thank you for making my trip so enjoyable! 😊

First time in the little town of Bendigo, and I was looking for a breakfast spot when I found this place. Fantastic place for breakfast. We really enjoy coming here for coffee and breakfast, they have a nice indoor setting as well as outdoor seating and a fairly decent selection of food items on their menu. Located in the centre of town, a great stop for something to eat and drink. Highly recommended.

The coffee and food are good. It's also located right in downtown, and to me, the best part is when the sun is up you can feel the sunshine on your face, which is especially nice during the winter.

Found this little gem after looking around for somewhere to have breakfast. The atmosphere was great the staff very friendly & professional. Took awhile for breakfast to come after ordering it but the place was packed & that is a good sign that breakfast will be worth waiting for & it certainly was. The big Breakfast was great, the scrambled eggs were delicious. Looking at other customers breakfast I could see they were delicious. Definitely recommend the Brewhouse well with the wait & the price you pay.

The staff are just lovely — genuinely friendly, helpful, and clearly enjoying being part of such a great place. The whole atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and welcoming. Whether you’re after a lazy brunch or a quick, tasty lunch, this place hits the mark. A must-visit if you love great food served with a smile in a space that’s full of personality.

Maybe I’m setting my expectations too high for a cafe. My friend highly recommended this place, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The service was extremely slow, and the coffee was too foamy for a late morning. I even think they forgot to add the sugar I had requested. I ordered their brewhouse breakfast for $24, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It only came with a thin slice of sourdough bread and a small sausage. What was missing? The baked beans and the mushrooms that were on the menu but never served to me. After paying my bill, I decided to order a small coffee to go. It was actually quite good, unlike the coffee I had when I was dining in. Overall, I had a disappointing first experience, but I think the takeaway coffee is worth trying. I just wanted to enjoy a beautiful Easter morning, but unfortunately, they didn’t provide that either.

Greeted warmly by girl behind counter, waited 45 minutes only to be served after reminding staff we still hadn't been served. The young man who finally served us offered no greeting, acted as though we were parking officers, walked off without mentioning a word. Food arrived promptly enough and was well made. Table in front of us left due to waiting over an hour, some getting their meals others still waiting hence why they left.

Great spot but needs more staff for a better experience for everyone. Staff were rushed and running amid the queues of takeaway orders and sit down brunch folk. It made for problems if we needed anything at the table. Orders were prompt and good was tasty and plentiful. Coffee excellent. The space was what I expected a coffee roasters might look like.

There is a new chef in the kitchen for sure, because the food was sensational!!! Coffee 10/10, new menu and new funiture which is quite comfortable and cozy. I had a really good time with my family, the staff was reallly nice and friendly. Definitely we will go back

A very busy atmosphere led to, many customers walking in around the same time - but the calm attitude with which all the staff handled the busy crowd was amazing. Especially the young boy in the grey hoodie who served us and set a reasonable wait time because of the busy crowd but ensured we were all set . Kudos to his efforts , as he deserves a 5 star for good service and if you’ll can give him a raise just for handling today like a pro do so. Even the two girls on the floor had a smile at all times and responded with patience catering to every small request . My partner and me truly thank the young boy for all his efforts and if he continues in hospitality he will pave a successful path to lead .

This is not my first visit ☺️😉 the team at Spring Gully General store are always in the ball, meals served quickly and good coffee. The place has a great vibe and is especially lovely on a sunny day outside.

We are eating here right now and I couldn’t wait to finish my meal to write a review. Often overlooked on any menu the Fruit toast is the star of this show. The texture of a toasted cloud. The first bite and every bite to follow is an explosion of flavour to my taste buds. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict with Bacon to say he inhaled his meal is an understatement. We are passing through town and live 4 hours away. We will now be making the 4 hour trip regularly just to eat here and be surrounded by these wonderful flavours.

This place is a must visit for people who enjoy great food and coffee. I have been here a couple of times now and it never fails to impress me with the hospitality and quality of the food. Coffee and food are really great but the service is also bang on for a good breakfast or brunch I’d say get out there and try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Love this place, great location just on the southern outskirts of Bendigo, great for a coffee pick up heading into or out of town. Adam and staff always a pleasure to chat to and prompt with quality service. Great for breakfast, brunch and lunch too with a seasonal menu and lots of ingredients grown on site. Definitely a favourite amongst the growing crop of terrific culinary options in Bendigo and the region.

Always a very positive experience coming here for a anything - a coffee, a slice or a full on meal. Solid service and delicious food on offer all round. Their menu has vegetarian options, gluten free choices and a fair bit of variety. They also make a fair few of their menu items and slices themselves and all of them are delicious. (My personal favourite is their carrot cake)

There's clearly been a management change of some description. Wait staff are overall very friendly but seemingly a little disorganised or under some sort of duress from the kitchen. Seated and drinks ordered, 10mins later drinks arrive but told it's too busy to order food for another 5 minutes? Not sure what difference it will make if there's a ticket there sooner or later but ok. Order 15 mins later and get our food about 30 mins after that (2 pretty basic dishes off the menu). Both dishes arrive overcooked to the point of being just below burnt. Dishes that were dependable and familiar for so long have clearly been amended and not for the better. The fried chicken burger that was once a staple is now dry and tasteless with very little going for it. Fried bordering on blackened is the unexaggerated truth. Overall it's not that it's a bad place but it seems obvious that the kitchen need to pull their heads in a bit. I'd be happy go there for a coffee. Hopefully they get back to basics soon and sort it out. Maybe I just got them on a bad day? UPDATE : front of house staff were friendly and efficient, could not fault them at all. Hot drinks came out quickly and were fine. Kitchen appears to have gone backwards again though. The friend chicken burger was like nothing I have ever seen. The chicken was literally the thickness of a slice of ham. There was more seasoning than there was chicken. Could this be due to the current supply chain issue surrounding poultry? If so then please just take it off the menu, this was a huge disappointment (see photos). Also the kids serve of ricotta pancakes appears to have shrunk and was quite dry (if the kids are leaving them on the plate to just eat the ice cream you know something is up). Overall was a sadly disappointing experience.

Having not seen each other in some time, a group of us caught up for a meal at the Spring Gully General Store. We had booked a table for Brunch and we were seated promptly. Coffee orders were taken as we waited for one of our party to arrive. We told our original server this, as we wanted to order our meals at the same time and together. There is a fine line between good service and over enthusiastic service; we were asked if we were ready to order several times by several different servers in a very short space of time, even though we were still waiting on a friend to attend. This got a bit embarrassing and we were starting to feel pressured to order. All of us finally together, we ordered, meals were ok coffee good, but my Eggs benedict with smoke salmon was cold. The venue was great, atmosphere was good, dining available inside and out. Overall we did feel pressured to order when we weren’t ready, which really took the shine off our experience.

After the local Parkrun this was the place for many of those runners to have a post run coffee. We went in for breakfast and found the food and coffee were very good and well presented by friendly staff. We didn't get to look around at all the items on shelves but we had to be on the road fairly quickly. Very busy when we we're the at 9.30am.

The cafe itself is lovely and the food/coffee (coffee not served hot) was great. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience enjoyable. However, I did notice that a couple staff members didn’t seem as engaged, while some were working really hard, others weren’t pulling their weight or offering much help and seemed to be standing around not running coffee to the customer (explains the warm drink) It made the service feel a little inconsistent. With a bit more teamwork and attentiveness from everyone, this place could be excellent.

One of the best breakfast experiences my family and I have ever had! The service was spectacular, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious; would reccomend the eggs Benedict and the avocado toast - it comes with an incredible beetroot hummus. Food and drinks came quite quickly, and you can browse at a lovely section of fresh procedure and gifts while you wait. Would totally recommend and go back!!

Such a unique way to serve an iced latte with the shot of coffee being seperate, interesting. We all loved the meals. They were served quite quickly and very delicious. Would come back again 👍🏻

The Good Loaf Sourdough Bakery & Cafe is a delightful combination of an award-winning bakery and a cozy cafe. Their in-house made dishes are wholesome and comforting, with their house-made crumpets being a top favorite. The bakery offers delicious sourdough bread that keeps customers coming back for more. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor seating and friendly staff at this cylindrical-shaped bakery. It's the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch or take home some delicious bread that freezes well.
I had a good memory here, nice coffee and bakery. And big breakfast never goes wrong, I love the fried beans and onion in it.

Cute place for a coffee and morning tea- as we did before driving back to Melbourne! Plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunshine and air. Coffee order took a lot longer to come out than expected and both coffees didn't come out at the same time. And scones also came out later (not sure if my partner who ordered may have been told there's a wait for a Monday morning). Still a good place to stop by!

No doubt a great place for a Great Loaf of Sourdough! Love the salad of the day too! However the coffee need a little fix...my flat white was rather flat 😅 plus there was no pepper & salt on table.
Ping H — Google review
Great brunch location with good offerings on the menu. We ordered the poached eggs on toast (of the 3 orders, 2 were overdone ... so kids naturally complained to us that it was not runny enough). I ordered the avocado smash - which was delicious with the goats feta. The thickness of the toasted sourdough for all our meals could be better - a bit odd having sandwich slice thickness for a Cafe instead of toast thickness at the very least. Didn't really get to appreciate the sourdough when the slice is so thin ... the main reason we wanted to try the place. As a result did not buy a loaf as pre cut was sandwich thickness, with no other thickness available, and as we were travelling buying the uncut loaf did not suit. Small indoor dining area with seating for about 8ppl at 3 diff tables, but there is a large outdoor dining space under a marquee ... which I'm sure would be nice on a warm day. Nice family atmosphere, just shame about the sourdough thickness ... could really benefit from offering thicker slices with breakfast meals.

Fresh breads. There are options for gluten- free cakes and bread. My son likes the gluten-free chocolate cake. We ordered their big breakfast - my husband didn’t like the taste of the beans but overall it was good. Coffee isn’t their strength - it wasn’t good. So, if you want a good dose of caffeine, this isn’t your place. Options for outdoor dinning and takeaway. Pet friendly. It’s easy to find parking. Quick service. COVID restrictions protocol been upheld. Recommended for fresh breads and gluten-free cakes.

We stopped by Bendigo en route to Melb and were looking for a cafe that we could sit in for coffee as well as a toilet break. It was just after 3pm and we didn’t have much luck looking for a cafe that was still open (also most shops that are usually open were closed due to covid) but thankfully the owner of The Green Olive recommended this bakery so we ended up here. Nice cosy bakery, I love how it’s cylindrical in shape; smelt great as you entered, friendly staff, and has nice outdoor seating too. My friend ordered a long black which he quite liked. This place seems to have an extensive lunch menu too but sadly I was still full from brunch this morning and couldn’t fit anymore food in my tummy. Will have to return to sample some food and bread in the future!

Wow! We finally made it to the good loaf bakery, knowing that it was sadly closing. What an absolute shame! We really hope these guys find another venue to reopen because that bread is some of the best we’ve eaten and the beef pie was amazing…and we own our own bakery in Melbourne and make and sell our own signature sourdough too… but couldn’t not leave a review for these guys. Can’t wait to see them reopen somewhere because this is what our industry really needs🤞🤞

A beautiful cafe in town! It was super clean, great staff and plenty of space to spread out so you didn’t feel on top of the people next to you. Plenty of drink and food options, especially for two adults with allergies and intolerances. While the cafe had a nice atmosphere, and the staff were nice. The propositions for the food were terrible, they were so insignificant for how much they were. On top of a 32 minute wait from when we paid to when we ordered.. Alongside this, water was requested several times and ignored for a long while. Could use some improvements with their food.

Fantastic food - I had scrambled eggs on toast and added sausage and mushrooms. Good serving size, the sausage was delicious and the mushrooms were the tastiest I've ever had! Incredible Experience at The Anxious Goat! I visited The Anxious Goat on a chilly winter day, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for warming up after a cold day. My partner and I dropped by over the long weekend for coffee and breakfast. Although we were initially excited by the good reviews, we unfortunately left quite disappointed. We ordered coffees, granola, and scrambled eggs on toast. Things started off promisingly with some really good coffee — but sadly, that turned out to be the highlight of the meal. After waiting more than 20 minutes, my scrambled eggs on toast and my partner’s granola finally arrived. The scrambled eggs were underwhelming, tasting more like batch-cooked hotel eggs than something freshly made. The toast seemed to be store-bought bread, bland and unremarkable, which made the whole dish feel pretty lacklustre. My partner’s granola was equally disappointing: the quality seemed average at best, and it was topped with several slices of a single strawberry and a few raspberries. Both of us found it pretty underwhelming in both presentation and taste. Overall, based on our experience, I'd recommend visiting The Anxious Goat only for the coffee. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return for breakfast.

We drove 2 hours from Melbourne to see an exhibition at the Gallery & needed a quick lunch beforehand. Coffee was OK. Two family members ordered the beef tacos & noticed the beef smelled like fish & the first bite tasted off. As I cut into my mushroom bruschetta the bread was very stale & there was yellowed rocket hidden on the bottom with very few wrinkled mushrooms on top. We didn't want to get sick, so returned our meals. The only response were red faces & and a reply of "okay". No offer to replace with fresher food or refund any of our money. Just wanted to save someone a similar experience, do not recommend eating here sorry. Also, you cannot use the toilet here! Eat at the gallery instead!!! 😋

Dropped in for light breakfast. Did not see, nor were we offered a menu. Coffee was very good, staff pleasant. The slider was put in the sandwich press so it was super flat but hot and tasted ok. The ham cheese croissant was melted and just ok. Great coffee destination… food seemed limited. Lots of locals grabbing coffee

The Anxious Goat had some really cute decor! Aside from this, the space is very small. Very. Very. Small. We were so crowded that it was anxiety inducing. The food could have been improved by using better quality ingredients- the steak tacos’ pebre salsa was divine. The guacamole was just avocado dip from the supermarket. The tortillas were stale.you’re not allowed to use the bathroom and that’s… a disappointing choice that they’ve made. The chips were SO good.

Out of Order is a coffee shop that focuses on bagels. Everything on the menu, from drinks to pastries, can be eaten on a bagel. The bright and cheery staff make it an inviting place to hang out.
Super good bagels, I took away. The matcha was just insane! And the staff seemed friendly although very focused given the world there was.

Great Experience at Out of Order Café! I had the pleasure of visiting Out of Order, and it was such a great experience! The staff are absolutely lovely and clearly very passionate about their craft. Their attention to detail really stands out, from the way they prepare your coffee to the overall service. It creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. I ordered the Breakky Bagel, and it was incredibly delicious and filling. If you’re a bagel lover, this is a must-try! I paired it with a hot cappuccino, which was perfectly brewed. The café also has ample seating, making it a comfortable spot to relax or get some work done. One convenient feature is that you can preorder via their website, making it even easier if you’re in a hurry. The only small drawback was that the door handle was a bit oily, but it’s a minor issue compared to all the positives this place offers. Overall, Out of Order is a wonderful café with great food, excellent coffee, and passionate staff. I’ll definitely be back!

My review is based on my order - I had the strawberry match and chicken pesto bagel. The strawberry matcha was underwhelming as the matcha was quite weak and could not balance the sweetness of the strawberry jam/puree. The chicken pesto bagel was just okay and a tad of the dry side - both bagel and chicken. I was really excited to try out due to the excellent reviews, so I will give it another go when I'm next in Bendigo to try other items in their menu. Looking forward to updating my review then.

Cappuccino was excellent but the much exalted bagel, under "Loaded" tag - The Roast with juicy lamb was anything but. Dry, chewy & rather flavourless. Perhaps other choices are better. Welcoming & awesome service 👌🏽. Had lunch Tues 23/9 recently. Easy walk from train station. Few mins walk to busy intersection - iconic Alexandra Fountain, Pall Mall & Rosalind Park.

Had just a basic ham and cheese Bagel seeded tasted great, coffee was nice also and the 2 ladies were nice and friendly, service was quick, definitely worth dropping into. I should have got salt and pepper on mine would have brought the flavour out more but couldn’t fault the food or the coffee.

Awesome bagel! Loaded and flavourful, made fresh. Coffee was good too. Busy in the morning.
Regina S — Google review
Quality of ingredients is obvious. Nice chick bacon and a double serving of American cheese on the breaky bagel. Good show, Out of Order. And thanks so much for having a Gluten Free bagel. It was decent too. Well done.

Love this little place and it’s pumping. The coffee is to die for and the bagels are delicious. There’s a reason they’re going strong and pumping out the coffee on a Sunday morning. Go in snd get the best coffee of your life. Admire the set up too, the owners have invested a lot to give them the best possible work station to produce consistent, delicious coffee. Oh and the turtle is pretty cute too.

Love Shack Brewing Co is a nostalgic tribute to the classic pubs of regional Victoria, offering a cozy and laid-back atmosphere. The friendly and knowledgeable staff serve an impressive selection of beers, cocktails, and other beverages. The old-school vibe is enhanced by DJs who keep the energy flowing into the night. Visitors can enjoy delicious burgers and fries while sipping on their brews or opt for well-crafted cocktails.
5 Stars! Not only were our beers pretty cool, hubby had the pale ale and I had the IPA , but the grilled chicken burger that we shared was absolutely awesome. At first it looked too small, but the taste certainly made up for it. The American Southern style smokey marinade on the chicken was to die for. My mouth is drooling now, just thinking about it! Pub decor was nice and modern and the staff friendly. Totally recommend.

Ventured out of Melbourne to the wonderful town of Castlemaine. First stop was Love Shack and what a great brewery. Great selection of craft ales, fantastic venue with plenty of seating inside and out, but the stand out for me was the scotch eggs! Yes, scotch eggs on an aussie menu! How wonderful. That were delicious, served with a spicy, sticky fruit and nut mix and an almond sauce. Divine! Crumpets were pretty good too.

Took my octogenarian parents here for a drink and we all loved it. We sat in one of the cosy booths and soaked up the atmosphere, decor and locals popping in and out. We enjoyed a glass of Shiraz, Chardonnay and my dad was very taken with the Love Shack mid strength on tap that had a lovely dark colour. We ordered the butter beans with feta starter for a snack and it was bloody delicious. The lemon zest flavour was incredible. We're now obsessed with trying to replicate it. Only pic we took it was so good!

We dined at 6:00pm on a Monday evening. There were tables available and we were seated immediately. From the outset, we felt welcome in this country style pub. It felt like it had been around forever, such were the trinkets and decorating style, but this is a fairly new establishment. The booths were comfortable, providing the perfect platform for ongoing conversations. The staff were warm and efficient, providing advice and an excellent level of service. We ordered Love Burgers and their delicious simplicity was a delight. The chips were also perfect. The popcorn chicken, when paired with the fried potato salad, was a sensation. We were only popping in, but spent hours here, enjoying the range of beers on tap and the welcoming nature of this establishment. We had the BEST time.

Cute little country pub vibes. I loved the decor and fit out. The bar tenders were lovely and helpful. We didn’t order any food, but we saw some people on the next table eating a cheeseburger that looked incredible!

Awesome setting, the vibe is very cool, nice old clean brew house.. we just had a couple of different beers, didn't have any food but would definitely come back for it, looked very nice. Excellent and every friendly service. Very much worth calling in to this place and supporting the local trade 😊

We absolutely loved our experience at Love Shack Brewery! The food was exceptional – fresh and full of flavor. Drinks were great! The service was super friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for both lunch and dinner on the same day – and all meals were outstanding. Highly recommend Love Shack if you’re after great food, great drinks, and great vibes. We’ll definitely be back!

Came as a group of 6 and the food and atmosphere was great. I would not recommend ordering their house white wine though. It was so bad we thought it was off but the bartender said that's how it's meant to taste. To his credit, he offered us a new drink.

Amazing Customer service and the best chocolate I have ever eaten!! Highly recommend the Carmel filled chocolate!! Very addictive and the selection is massive so something for everyone!! Will definitely be back when I’m in Bendigo! It’s a must see place when in the area!

My partner and I arrived not long before closing today. Although it was really close to the end of the shift the two girls running the shop could not have been any more perfect. They were kind, considerate and nothing was too much trouble. We always visit when we are in Bendigo and I’d recommended it to anyone. Oh, and the coffee and cheesecake are beautiful too!
Paul J — Google review
Popped in for a quick and simple lunch. The service was terrific but I'm writing this review mainly bc the toast that accompanied my pumpkin soup was placed on a napkin on the plate. No toast sweat! So considerate.

This chocolatier is a Bendigo treasure! The white chocolate cheesecake I ordered for my partner's birthday was divine - every bite was pure bliss. Don't miss their sublime Swiss hot chocolate - a must-try!

Wow, what a great little chocolate shop. The chocolate mouse was just so rich and delicious. The mud cake with a bit of ice cream was just perfect. And the coffee made spot on. The staff were happy and cheerful and made us feel welcome. We sat down for a coffee and did takeaway mouse and mud cake. Well done, team. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
