Step into the thrilling and adrenaline-pumping adventure of Central Deborah Gold Mine, a real gold mine that operated during Bendigo's gold rush boom. Visitors can experience what life was like for miners in the 1900s as they descend over 60 meters underground, exploring tunnels and historic mining equipment. The tour includes a visit to heritage-listed buildings such as the Blacksmiths Shop, First Aid Room, Carbide Lamp Room, and Engine Room.
Fantastic! Our family loved this experience! The mine tour with Nathan was so interesting and even kept the kids (13 & 10) engaged throughout! Being 61m underground is pretty cool (and always 14 degrees- so bring a jacket). The surface museum was also interesting, and the panning was great- the kids really loved finding the gems, the parents enjoyed the gold! Highly recommend!
Nicolle M — Google review
It was a great experience visiting the Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo. It operated from 1939 to 1954 to a depth of 422 metres. It yielded 929 Kg of gold from its mining operations. The best part was going 61m underground with a hard hat ON to see how the gold mine workers worked in those days and how gold was mined from there. The tour guides were quite knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged throughout the tour. The Surface tour is a great way to know more about the gold mine and how things operated back in the days. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bendigo.
Nakul P — Google review
We did the underground mine tour, with Graham, it was great!! He gave us lots of really good info but it was still fun. It was so surprisingly wheelchair accessible! They really had thought of everything we felt really comfortable with everything. All the staff were actually really friendly and helpful, and a good shop!
Laura H — Google review
Going underground at the Central Deborah Gold Mine was an unforgettable experience. The tour guides were fantastic, explaining the history and stories of the miners. It’s both fun and eye-opening — a must-do if you want to really dive into Bendigo’s gold rush past.
This.is_melbourne — Google review
Absolutely worth a visit to this fab centre, our tour guide (nathan) was superb and we he learnt so much about what life as a miner really was like. Sadly we didn’t come away with any gold nuggets but we did come away with a lot of the educational type and they’re priceless !! We booked the first tour - 10am, then took the ‘talking tram’ into town for lunch. Thoroughly recommend you doing that too if you have time
Evie S — Google review
Everyone except for me thought this was going to be boring, they were all wrong. The underground mine tour was awesome and very informative. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made everyone comfortable and answered all questions thrown at him. A must-see/do if in Bendigo.
Rob — Google review
A 60 metre deep gold mine. Our guide explained everything in details. There are some big gold nuggets in display. Recommended to Book early before going
L J — Google review
Huge thanks to Nathan, our amazing guide for the 61M Underground Experience! His passion, energy, and deep respect for people from all backgrounds made the tour unforgettable. It wasn’t just a journey underground — it was a journey of reflection. Nathan encouraged us to think about the people behind the mining industry, to appreciate life, and to treat others with kindness. Thank you, Nat!

Discovery Science & Technology Centre in Bendigo is a captivating museum housed in a historic railway goods shed. It features over 100 interactive exhibits, including a planetarium and a thrilling 7-meter vertical slide. The center offers workshops and events for all ages, making learning about physics and chemistry an entertaining experience. From interplanetary journeys in the planetarium to hands-on activities for young children, there's something for everyone at this educational yet fun-filled destination.
Thw discovery Centre is one of a kind, hands on fun learning space that allows kids of all ages to get stuck into stem, the cool way. Loads of hands on experiences and activities and even has a dr who phone box and an amazing planaterium that absolutely everyone loves, including the adults (sorry bout the time I was so comfy I accidentally went to sleep, hehe).. They also reciprocate Melbourne museum entry along with science works, immigration museum and Melbourne planetarium, so win win! Handy access to the vline hibz and the shopping centre. Not far from the talking tram tour. An excellent way to waste a lazy wet food afternoon in the cold weather and also has bathroom facilities, storage lockers so you can play about with the kids, and the staff are kinda just a little bit cool too!
Rebecca P — Google review
Interactive, fun and well laid out. The presentation on Easter Monday was excellent! Engaging, educational, pitched at the right level for both kids and adults, well paced and delivered. The vertical slide was a highlight.
Deborah L — Google review
I thought the kids would be the only ones enjoying this, I was wrong. This place is great for young and old. Highly recommend doing the planetary tour. It was very informative and interesting. Kids and I all had a ball. We spent hours here. Highly recommend.
Rob — Google review
We had a fantastic time at DS&TC! The visit was fun, engaging, and full of learning opportunities. We watched a fascinating solar system screening at the planetarium, enjoyed an exciting science show about wild weather, and the boys loved challenging themselves on the vertical slide. We also played for hours at the science playground. Altogether, we spent about 3 hours there, and every moment was worth it.
Bernadett K — Google review
Grandma and grandpa took the grandkids and they enjoyed it. Efficient entry even in school holidays. It reminded us of the one in Honolulu only the Bendigo one is smaller. We included the planetarium session so all up just over $73. We spent just over 2 hours there because there is a lot to see and play with.
Llewellyn S — Google review
Not sure what to say about this place. It's got some fun hands-on activities esp. for younger kids, but the space has a very low-cost feel to it, all the stuff is aged / a bit dirty, some things don't work, the space is not heated (good to know in winter months), the gift shop is sparse and filled with mostly low-quality stuff. It's like the poor cousin of Scienceworks in Melbourne.
Sami M — Google review
Visited from Melbourne and spent hours here. Very much a smaller version of Scienceworks in Melbourne, with plenty of exhibitions and fun things for the kids and big kids to play around with. Staff were excellent and engaging. My only criticism would be that even though it is indoors, it was quite cold! Parking is shared with the shopping centre, so can be a bit busy on a Saturday.
Leigh M — Google review
there was something for every kid to look at and do at all times. for three hours, kids and adults were fully engaged.

The Golden Dragon Museum in Bendigo is a cultural complex that offers a glimpse into the rich Chinese heritage of the region. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing the history of the Chinese community from the gold rush era to modern times. The museum also features a traditional garden, tearoom, and gift shop for an immersive experience. It stands as a living history of Bendigo's Chinese population and their significant influence on the city's traditions and charitable works.
In the Gold Rush days of 1850's up to 20% of the population in Bendigo was of Chinese Heritage, so this place empicts some items from that era which is really interesting. You do have to pay to see and it's interesting if you like history. Follow people like me as we make the effort to showcase amazing places for you to evaluate
Rob N — Google review
Beautiful museum in Bendigo. They do have two outdoor areas and both free. The garden area is beautiful, if you walk a bit further down you will see a temple next to it.
Kristine S — Google review
This place is amazing. It shows the Chinese involvement with Bendigo since the Gold rush years. The collection of Chinese artefacts is vast and very interesting to look at. The whole site is very good and the restaurant was a great place for lunch.
Peter T — Google review
A nice place to visit, full of local history. Kids found it boring as they do, but we didn't care. We enjoyed it. Beautiful gardens with a nice Chinese restaurant next door.
Rob — Google review
Didn't go into the museum, but thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding gardens and temple, where I offered some incense and did some prayers. A fantastic area with delightful and pretty gardens. Well maintained and spiritual.
Norman C — Google review
We arrived rather late so museum already closed, however we are so lucky to witness the practice of Dragon Show for Moon Festival on Friday 26 September 2025. They are so great to see group of young talents practice & perform. The 5 stars are for them ☺️.
Ada S — Google review
This is one of my first stops at Bendigo and I’m amazed by this place. As someone who loves history, art and cultural traditions, I was blown away by the ornate dragons used for Chinese Lunar New Year as well as for Easter Celebrations. The outside temple, gardens and monuments are only an entree to the amazing pieces of living history of the Chinese culture that has managed to persist in Australia during the Gold Rush era. I loved the designs of each dragon especially the big one Dai Gum Loong, the festival banners and the Buddhist symbols of each of these exhibits. Also, worth mentioning that Steph did an excellent job in explaining about the history of each dragon, the place itself and her endeavours in trying to answer my long-winding questions.

There are a lot of costumes and preserved items here. By far the greatest items I could find here was the collection of dynastic coins, some over hundreds of years old.

Bendigo Pottery, Australia's oldest working pottery, has been in operation for over 150 years. Located in Epsom on the outskirts of town, it offers a rich retail experience for ceramic enthusiasts. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the pottery through hands-on clay workshops, demonstrations, and access to an interpretive museum and cafe. The site showcases historic wood-fired kilns and machinery while offering a glimpse into production processes.
Very glad to have squeezed in a visit here. I was interested in the history of the pottery manufacture but could only see parts of workshop as the site is still flood-effected. The antiques area more than made up for it, WOW. Best collection of beautiful old things I've ever seen under one roof in Aus/NZ—even better than The Mill in Castlemaine. Extraordinary range, very well presented and some very keen pricing. I needed to do some creative packing to take some treasures back to NZ the next day. Highly recommended if you love the quality and style of hand-made, old things.
Rachel R — Google review
My family visited this beautiful pottery that had a lot of things to see and learn about. There was live viewing of how the objects are made out of clay in the wheel which was really nice for the kids too see and learn about. There was an antique shop there too which was interesting to look at as the objects were quite intriguing. Staff were so helpful and charming.
DigitalLIFE S — Google review
Came here years ago and it was great. However since then this place has almost closed up. The driveway in is the clue, full of potholes. That said, there is a few things to see and do which isn’t pottery.
Benjamin S — Google review
We were disappointed, but it was because of the recent water damage that occurred. The museum wasn't operating because of the flood damage. And it was the main reason for our visit. We wish Bendigo Pottery success in rebuilding their museum .
Harrie S — Google review
Lots of history and local charm. Went on a cold & wet weekend, but it didn't spoil the experience. Easy self guided tour where you can see the original kilns and way the pottery worked, in days gone by and a lovely large undercover shop featuring an assortment of ceramic pieces made on premises. Great for self or as gifts. There is a cafe on site, ample parking, opportunities to do workshops if you have time and some other local artisan shops on site. Not far from central Bendigo. Do yourself a favour & make time to visit. Enjoy.
Belinda K — Google review
Lovely!! A great afternoon strolling around this historical place .so much to see . Cafes, shops , kids workshops, wine tasting, walking around soaking up the history admiring all the beautiful art from the local area and artists . The pottery so beautiful old style and a lovely new range so many beautiful coulours. Thanks for a lovely afternoon 😊
Renee E — Google review
My parents visited here about 20 years ago and have never stopped bragging about the place, so the moment we were relocated to VIC for work, this was the first place on our bucket list for visiting. We certainly were not let down. This place is incredible. The rich history, the beautiful old kilns, the wonderful craftsmanship of the pottery and local art work is amazing. The two ladies at the front were really friendly and had a good chat to us. It’s lovely to have some gold old fashioned customer service where the ladies can strike up a conversation other than selling something. Of course we did but something …how could we not. The pottery is gorgeous. I’m coming back for the bread pot 😉 when Hubbys not with me lol.
Amy B — Google review
Bendigo Pottery is a must see if you are interested in the history of Victoria. To say its astonishing is an understatement. I was introduced to their wares many years ago, but to see where they were made is a different thing altogether. But the great aspect is, its a living museum, as Bendigo Pottery still is in operation - but not using the old kilns. A bonus is the antique shop, where there are over 40 market stalls with gorgeous antiques. On top of that is a cafe as well, with fair prices. Access is easy, and wheelchair friendly. Parking limited.

Bendigo Art Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of visual arts exhibits from both regional and international artists spanning various eras. The gallery features an impressive collection of 19th-century European and Australian art. As part of this year's program, the gallery is hosting an all-ages workshop called The Big Draw, where participants can engage in the activity to Draw a Futuristic Gallery.
Travelled from Melbourne to see the Frida Khalo exhibition. Well worth the trip. The exhibition was extensive and very well curated. Plenty of other things to see and do in Bendigo, if you have the time. Plenty of art galleries, street art, historical buildings from the Gold Rush era, Chinese cultural heritage, great shops and wonderful cafes.
Devorah V — Google review
Our primary reason for visiting the Gallery was to experience the Frida Kahlo exhibition and it didn't disappoint 😍 we spend 2hrs wandering with our eyes fixed on every single exhibit. An absolutely wonderful Gallery with so very much on offer to see, regardless of whether you are interested or not. Just do it!!!
Delia L — Google review
Judy is a lovely tour guide! She taught me about the history of the painting and artist, and stories about what the painting is about. She showed me a lot of details I wouldn't have picked up and I'll be paying more attention to art from now on.
LH C — Google review
I've heard such wonderful things about the Bendigo Art Gallery and have been meaning to visit for ages. The exhibitions always sound so interesting and well-curated, drawing in people from all walks of life. I particularly love seeing how they celebrate local artists and showcase diverse perspectives.
Mridul P — Google review
Visited a few years ago when it was the Elvis Exhibition. What a wonderful Gallery and immaculately presented. Despite being a busy afternoon session, everyone was friendly, gave each other room to take photos and admire the King of Rock n Roll. A true asset to Bendigo.
Normandy J — Google review
I love this place, I could just sit and enjoy every brushstroke. There are so many massive paintings, and each one is absolutely beautiful.
G M — Google review
Bendigo Art Gallery is reason enough to make the trip up the Calder. Housed in a graceful heritage building seamlessly blended with a sleek contemporary extension, it feels both historic and fresh. High-ceilinged rooms flood with natural light, while clever architecture guides you from grand 19th-century spaces to crisp, modern galleries without a hitch. Curation is top-class for a regional institution. The permanent Australian collection gives real depth. How about thinking of Heidelberg School landscapes in one room and bold contemporary works in the next, yet the blockbuster touring shows are what really shine. Whether it’s fashion icons, photography retrospectives or pop-culture tributes, the gallery consistently punches above its weight, drawing crowds that rival big-city institutions. Labels are informative without lecturing, and there’s always a thoughtfully placed bench or two so you can linger over a favourite piece. Practical touches round out the experience: friendly staff happy to chat about works, an airy café with excellent coffee and local bites, and a well-stocked shop that goes beyond generic souvenirs. The whole visit feels welcoming rather than stuffy, making it easy to lose a couple of hours in art-driven bliss. Five stars from me! Bendigo Art Gallery sets the gold standard for regional culture in Victoria.
Le G — Google review
Although it doesn’t feature works of renowned painters, it has a small but well curated collection that reflects Bendigo’s colonial history, showcasing pieces from local collectors and lesser-known Australian artists.

Bodies of Water
Lake Weeroona, often referred to as the jewel of Bendigo, is a picturesque spot that was once a mine in the 1850s. It was transformed into an 18-hectare lake in 1878 by the art director of Melbourne Botanic Gardens. The surrounding parkland features a shady path perfect for a leisurely 20-minute walk. Located just north of Bendigo's city center, it is also stop #4 on the Vintage Talking Tram route.
A perfect place to relax, walk or run around, step around the ducks, coffee at nearby Fox & Giraffe or lunch at The Bridge Hotel whilst staying at Quest Bendigo Central. Enjoyable all round.
Merry — Google review
The lake is quite nice, but nothing special. It’s well located in walking distance of the town and a stop on the Talking Tram Tour. There’s a cafe with a great lake view and we appreciated some of the different bird who live by the habitat, but it seemed a bit overhyped for me.

Beauteous place for walking, playing, and picnic. Amazing views with great cafes around. The coffee van is also here in the car park, which is very good.

Went here for the Bendigo Sprint Rowing Regatta. Lovely spot. Bar and restaurant at one end overlooking the lake. Coffee and food vans. Lots of people walking around the lake.
Amanda P — Google review
A wonderful lake to walk around. This popular venue attracts dog walkers, bike riders, children, adults - just about anyone who enjoys relaxing in the great outdoors. After having a late breakfast nearby, we strolled around this very pleasant park, lake and gardens. The residents of Bendigo are indeed lucky to have such a terrific space to enjoy - as are the ducks, swans and other feathered creatures. Visitors to the city can easily see why this place is so popular. There is even a coffee van :-) Here are some photos of Lake Weeroona. Do yourself a favour and visit!

Lake Weeroona is beautiful. Love to come here on a Saturday and watch the rowing regattas, whilst walking around it. It has a great playground for the kids, a BBQ Pavilion and plenty of benches to sit, relax and enjoy. And if hungry or thirsty, The Boardwalk Cafe will satisfy both.

The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is a large, earthen Buddhist temple in Bendigo, Australia. The structure is meant to last for 1,000 years and is modeled after the Gyantse Stupa in Tibet.
Such a great place. The Jade Buddha was very cool seeing it in person, but was off-limits due to renovations inside the temple. The information centre / cafe was great, but I think they only serve vegetarian food. Will have to look at the menu the next time I'm there.

I'm surprised this place isn't better known outside the region, and promoted by Visitor Centres further afield. It's very special and very rare. Make sure you get a map and follow the path - we were stressed when we started and peaceful and light when we finished. Everyone was friendly and helpful too. Such a precious and moving spot, especially the avenues of prayer wheels.

Such a peaceful place. Very nice statues. I highly recommend visiting this place. One can easily spend couple of hours. They have canteen which serves vegetarian food, coffee and other drinks. You can get free books on Buddhism and other topics however it's good if you can donate. There are gifts shop. Will visit again for sure. Please consider donations.

The Great stupa is the largest Buddhist stupa in the western world. It’s worth visiting if you are in Bendigo. It has interfaith peace park which promotes harmony with other religions. The Jade Buddha is the highlight of the stupa and is the largest Buddha carved from gemstone quality jade in the world. The great stupa is the same design and size as the Gyantse Stupa in Tibet.

The Great Stupa. Construction of the Great Stupa in Bendigo, a replica of Tibet's Gyantse Stupa, began in 2003 and was completed in 2020. 1981: Buddhist teacher Lama Thubten Yeshe visits Bendigo and provides the spiritual vision and master plan for the Great Stupa and surrounding retreat. 2003: Footings are laid, and construction begins on the stupa. 2007: His Holiness the Dalai Lama visits and blesses the site. 2020: The structure's top is completed, and it is unveiled as the largest stupa in the Western world. This is a unique building in Bendigo district and well worth a visit. Drop in for a meal or coffee at the wonderful spacious Cafe.

A Place of Tranquillity and Inspiration Visiting the Stupa of Compassion was a deeply enriching and serene experience. Nestled in a tranquil setting, the stupa exudes a calming energy that instantly puts you at ease. Its beautifully intricate architecture is a testament to the devotion and artistry of those who brought this sacred monument to life. The stupa is more than just a visual marvel – it carries a profound spiritual significance. Walking around the stupa, I felt a sense of peace and introspection, as if the stresses of daily life had momentarily faded away. Whether you are seeking a spiritual connection, a moment of quiet reflection, or simply a unique cultural experience, the Stupa of Compassion offers something truly special. The surrounding area complements the stupa perfectly, with lush greenery and an atmosphere that encourages mindfulness and meditation. The experience is enhanced by the friendly and knowledgeable staff or volunteers who are always willing to share the history and meaning behind the stupa, making it accessible even for those unfamiliar with Buddhist traditions. I would highly recommend a visit to the Stupa of Compassion for anyone looking to rejuvenate their spirit or simply enjoy a peaceful day in a stunningly beautiful location. The Zone Fun Park is the ultimate family entertainment center, offering a wide range of thrilling activities for all ages. From heart-pounding laser tag and paintball courses to high-speed go-kart racing and challenging mini-golf, there's no shortage of excitement here. Kids can also enjoy indoor and outdoor adventure play, including archery tag, skating, an indoor play center, and more. The arcade is packed with games for all interests.
One of the best laser tag areas I've been too. It's massive and super fun. Good place to have a birthday party for lots of young kids, or just a Friday night out.

Highly recommend lessons with Chelsea, she was amazing. She was brilliant with my 7 yo granddaughter in teaching her the basics of rollerskating. They were free, all part of the experience, and she was so easy to speak with. I'm just so grateful for her assistance. We're coming back Thursday. We came back Thursday and seriously, Chelsea needs a raise. She went beyond, and my granddaughter loves her. She helped many children to gain confidence and as far as I'm concerned, she's worth her weight in gold. Definite recommend.

Myself and my partner went roller skating on a Saturday night for the 6:30-9pm session. It was a fun date night but the whole place was very quiet for a Saturday night. The pricing for a skating session was super reasonable. Although we didn't eat I did have a look at the food/cafe menu and there was a lot to choose from. I just think there could be a little more variety in the music and the whole place could do with an upgrade as it feels a bit dated. Overall it was a good night though.

The kids loved the go-kart track and Dodgems. A little secret is that I loved them too. A must visit if you have kids or don't.

Thanks to Emily who was so helpful when I arrived at the Dodger cars as an older lady to use the dodgem cars with my grand daughter and great grandson. Emily helped me get up the ramp and then let me lean on her shoulder to get back down. She was very understanding. The staff at the front counter treated my grandson with kindness and were most obliging. .

This has to be one of the better fun parks I have been to. Very happy and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a family race around the go kart track and it was great fun. Everything worked well and the carts were well maintained. We are looking forward to going again. The roller skating was very big and in great condition. The hire roller skates were very good condition. The roller skates were more worn out but still comfortable. The hot food was made fresh and was good quality.

Nestled in the vibrant Arts Precinct of Bendigo, Sacred Heart Cathedral stands as a magnificent testament to both architectural beauty and historical significance. Serving as the seat of the Bishop of Sandhurst, this impressive structure is not only one of Australia's largest churches but also ranks as the second tallest after St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne.
This historic church is incredible to see. It is so huge and powerful, I was in awe seeing it. I am not religious myself but I always appreciate a beautiful church building with centuries of history. This is probably the biggest and favourite that I’ve seen up close. Definitely go and visit!

The architectural structure is exceptionally beautiful and striking. This slender edifice is particularly captivating, measuring 75 meters (246 feet) in length, 43 meters (141 feet) in width, and standing at a height of 87 meters (285 feet). Its magnificence is truly remarkable.

I was lucky enough to be here for a wedding. After travelling in England this is just as beautiful 😍

The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Bendigo is a masterpiece of neo-gothic architecture, and it’s towering height over the city makes this cathedral one of the most remarkable landmarks in Bendigo. Although the interior is relatively plain in comparison with other cathedrals around the world, I love how it is flooded with sunlight during the day, thus creating a beautiful ambience. The pipe organ, installed in 1905, has an incredible sound quality. The cathedral is the site of the annual Christus Rex Pilgrimage, held on the last weekend of October, and of which I have participated several times. May this magnificent structure bear witness to the depths of Christ’s love for us in His sacred heart.

I recently visited Rosalind Park in Bendigo and was thoroughly impressed. This expansive 60-acre park offers lush greenery, historic trees, and beautifully landscaped gardens—perfect for relaxing with family and friends. Highlights include the Poppet Head Lookout Tower, which provides panoramic views of the city, and the Conservatory Gardens with its seasonal floral displays. The park also features a children’s playground, ornate statues, and a fernery, making it a versatile spot for all ages.

We walked through the park today just because we recognised the name on the map and wow! The trees in autumn are particularly beautiful! They look very old and there is even a great view of them at the top of the hill. It’s close to the main part of town, museums, war memorial, walking paths, a cool waterfall fountain and lots of native birds.

🌸 Rosalind Park — Bendigo Rosalind Park is such a peaceful and charming spot right in the heart of Bendigo 🌿✨ The garden is filled with bright flowers blooming beautifully along the paths. I loved how calm and green everything felt, from the big shady trees to the small daisies by the walkway. It’s a perfect place for a slow walk, to take photos, or just sit and breathe for a while. The stone paths and little streams give it that classic, almost European garden vibe. It’s one of those parks that makes you feel like time slows down for a bit — simple, quiet, and full of life at the same time 🌼💚

Visited during the GLOW Bendigo Light Show, so only seen it during the cover of darkness. However, the artists and exhibitors really utilise the gigantic parkland space along with the paved path to connect all the art pieces together. A true gem for Bendigo.

Peaceful and relaxing stroll through Bendigo. The most surprising part of it is that giant fruit bats live on the trees by the hundreds. It is an amazing how many bats you will see hanging from the trees just sleeping so sound and peacefully. Lots of interesting spots for selfies and photos.

Percy and Percy is a charming café located just outside the CBD, featuring a lovely courtyard and cozy interior. Owners Elisha and Dan prioritize using the finest local ingredients, including milk from a nearby dairy and produce from local grocers. The café's relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely Sunday morning. With ample outdoor seating and a snug backyard area, it offers a welcoming environment for both visitors and their furry friends.
We really enjoyed our drinks particularly at Percy and Percy this morning! It’s near where we are staying and the vanilla latte and hot chocolate were very good! We liked the touch of the drinks coming with a Tiny Teddy too. We ate breakfast there too, with $3 for an additional egg being a bargain and there were no big breakfasts, but everything was a decent size. The serving girl didn’t enjoy her job, but was still friendly with us and there was a great view in the autumn outside by the coloured trees.

I really loved this cafe, a great spot for a nice and calm lunch! The Percy Cheeseburgers were juicy with lots of flavour, and the fresh apple juice was better than the supermarkets' apple juice. The food could have come a bit faster, but it was understandable considering the amount of people there. The tables were clean, the staff were nice, and despite the mass amount of customers, had a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend anyone to bring a friend or two here.

Great place, lovely atmosphere, wasn’t too thrilled with the Persian eggs I ordered. Amazing selection of cakes and deserts on display, tried the carrot cake and loved it, it was fresh and tasty! Coffee was good. Just slightly disappointed with the toast and eggs.

Great service, beautiful cafe, BLAT was delicious and great special price! Not giving 5 stars only because my brewed chai tea cost $8.7 (soy milk) and I think it’s way too much. This is the reason I don’t drink anymore coffee/tea when I go out. The place is really nice!

Delicious breakfast and coffee! We had the Persian eggs (swapped tomatoes to mushrooms) and Greens eggs & ham. Staff were really friendly and accomodating with ingredient changes. Rest of the menu and cabinet looked great also

They have mostly communal seating here, we were 'lucky enough ' to be seated at the same table as a grizzly child. Thankfully the parents were fantastic and got the child under control, so we were able to enjoy our breakfast. Hubby had the poached eggs, bacon, with tomato, spinach, feta and dukkah (can't remember what it was called) and I had the poached eggs on toast. Literally 2 eggs on one measly thin piece of sourdough toast - $15! The least they could have done is provided 1 piece of toast for each egg, for that sort of money! I had to pinch a piece of hubby's toast, otherwise I'd have gone hungry. Hubby enjoyed his big brekky at 8 Sisters Cafe alot more, but said the tomatoes were nice!

I normally just pop in for a coffee here, whilst I’m working, and it is a fantastic coffee... But having a day off, I decided to come in for a feed. I ordered a bacon and egg roll and a homemade hash brown, which were absolutely fantastic. The egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was a thicker cut. The homemade hash brown was crunchy and flavourful. Service was lovely, the staff were genuinely happy to be there, and catered to my needs promptly. Highly recommended

What a great water park and for free! The water is a bit cold for the little ones apart from that what great place to chill and have some fun with the kids .

Great place for kids and family It will be good if people use the space with respect and consideration towards others and not leaving broken glasses all over as its dangerous for everyone and especially for kids who come to play. The grassland area nearby is full of rubbish and toilet is not usable at all. Its a shame as a lot of family with young children use the park and play area

Jeff 3 — Google review
My recent visit to Long Gully Splash Park was a nightmare. While the park itself is okay, the reckless behavior of some parents was appalling. My two-year-old son was playing when a child on a bike, ridden by an older child, ran over his toe, resulting in half his toenail being ripped off. The pain and distress this caused are immeasurable. Instead of apologizing, the parents became aggressive, verbally attacking me and claiming this dangerous biking is normal there, even though the park rules clearly prohibit bikes and scooters. Their dismissive and disrespectful attitude was disgusting. This incident shows a serious safety issue, irresponsible parenting, and a complete disregard for the park's rules.
Assel M — Google review
Great place to take the kids on a hot day and you don't have to pay anything which is a bonus also has a bbq area with plenty of seating
Adrian U — Google review
It really is a great little place. There are BBQs, great shade over the splash park and us quite big for what it is really. The fact it is free is utterly amazing. There is also a play area out of the water, slide and large rope jungle gym to climb around in. It was clean and the upkeep on the park is well maintained. There's a cricket field next to it, so bigger kids can kick a footy or play some cricket. There's also outdoor bike exercise equipment. There are also public toilets and smoke parking So really, there's something for the entire family. A great day could be spent here for birthdays, lunches or just to cool down.

Playground
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Lake Neangar, Eaglehawk Playspace is a vibrant and imaginative playground that captures the essence of adventure for children of all ages. Designed in the shape of a majestic eagle hawk, this contemporary play area features custom-built equipment inspired by Banjo Patterson's beloved poem "Mulga Bill's Bicycle." Young explorers can enjoy an array of activities, from swinging and sliding to spinning in a butterfly-themed junior zone known as Where Angels Play.
This award winning playspace is well worth a visit. Situated on the banks of Lake Neangar in Eaglehawk, is this well maintained and comprehensive playground for the young and the young at heart. The play equipment includes a variety activities that involve everything from swinging, sliding and spinning. There is even a zipline for the more adventurous. This well landscaped area has undercover BBQ facilities with tables and seats. You can even fish in the lake, so think about bringing your rod. Highly recommended!

New residents to Eaglehawk, and love the family-friendly lifestyle this place has to offer! This little park is a gem and is right next to the lake, which has a great walking track. On the opposite side of the lake is a skate park and connects you to the beautiful gardens where a lot of communal events take place. There are toilets, gym and swimming pools too. The play space has a lot of parking, but this spot packs out during warmer seasons, but the small fenced-in placyspace has mature trees that shade the majority of this area. There is a waterway with small peddled stream for little ones to enjoy, a sandpit and table that could easily hold 20 little ones, a musical organ, a hut, table and chairs, swings and two small 🛝 slides (but check on hot day as they can heat up from the sun) this playspace is connected to the larger play park which is great for older children and has a covered in communal bbq area. We love bringing our grandson to this place. Also recommend grabbing a coffee from Skip the infamous Kiwi coffee spot 👌 or head to the local footy field on the other side of the park. This place is perfect for a family day out or good spot to meet up with friends who have little ones

Awesome park for the kids. My girls love it and have been going for years. Great location also being right on the lake.
Dean H — Google review
A great play space and bbq area that is let down by very poor toilet facilities. There are 2 stalls for a very large playground, bbq areas and walking track. As well as the quantity they were dirty with leaking taps, filthy floors, broken locks. The taps were push timers, great for saving water. Except the pressure was so high it splashed everywhere and only lasted 2 seconds. Far less pressure and longer time would make a huge difference to water wastage and how much water is all over the floor. As a single adult with several children, as the facilities were so far from the bbq and playground, I had to pack everything and everyone up to go to the toilet. A great facility badly let down by extremely poor amenities.

Worth the hype. If you're looking for a fine dining experience outside of Melbourne, Masons is a great choice. Extremely helpful staff that were happy to make recommendations (based on what you like, not what is most expensive, like some fine dining). There is a set menu which changes seasonally but there is room for dietary changes. Great wines and cocktails. Beautiful venue but can be a bit noisy due to it's small size, and parking is limited. Overall a lovely meal.

My husband, Patrick, and I travelled to Bendigo on Easter Sunday for the Festival and ended up finding this 💎 gem of a restaurant. We started off with cocktails 🍸, selected the 'Lucky Seven' for our lunch (a cross-section of 👨‍🍳 chef's selection of 7 dishes for the day and this delicious food was accompanied by a bottle of Rose wine. The food was sensational and, honestly, every bite felt like a party in our mouths!!! Desserts were also sensational...I am not often impressed by what's out there anymore... however, this establishment was pure joy - from beginning to end!!! Not only is the venue quirky (but elegant), and also having outdoor seating under cover in a funky lane, the whole ambience/atmosphere had a great vibe!! The energy of the whole venue was next level; the servers were all enthusiascally polite, the owner, Finn, was such an engaging personality, it became clear to me how and why he made such a success of his restaurant!!! He is THE man and his chef and staff are a reflection of his discerning taste. Everything, from the decor, glasses, dishes, etc. was impeccable 👌. Truly, the food, service, drinks and the whole experience was so thoroughly enjoyed - I am still thinking about it the next day!! We will come back and will not bother dining anywhere else when coming back to Bendigo. So.... for me to write such a long review is unusual. In a word: WOW❣️ what a great place and I cannot wait to eat here again soon!!

Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, but a special mention must go to the kimchi fried rice – it was absolutely outstanding! The balance of flavors, the perfect level of spice, and the comforting richness made it a standout dish we’ll be coming back for. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food and a great dining experience.

Beautiful little temple, truly a treasure and a stunning historical piece of Bendigo. You can catch the historical tram to Joss House which is situated at the end of the line.

We were quite disappointed by the temple. The heavy smoke in the air made it hard to breathe and in general it’s quite small. I did find it funny that there are tanks right next to it. It’s the best place to put them. But it was very dark and smoky and not for me.

Gardens
Bendigo Botanic Gardens, established in 1857, is a long-standing botanical garden that boasts a diverse array of indigenous flora. The award-winning play space within the gardens draws inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, offering imaginative play opportunities for children. The Secret Garden is a highlight, featuring hidden treasures like a mirror and child-sized mushroom table and chairs. Additionally, the Heritage Garden remains intact with shady trees and lawns surrounding a central billabong.
Incredible Space, a wonderful family pit stop or day out. We were surprised by the layout of the gardens, it is so much more than it looks like from the road. Wonderful shady playground and the fairy tree is something to behold.

The newer part of the Botanical Gardens is stunningly designed. Such a joy to spend an afternoon meandering and discovering what is around the corner. Love the fresh use of australian flora. Please replace the naff suburban gardens of our most recent history with the beautiful native gardens; better for the soul and better for the creatures.
NR H — Google review
Bendigo Botanic Gardens offers a graceful mix of heritage beauty and forward-thinking landscape design. The original section, laid out in the 1850s, greets you with sweeping lawns, towering elms, and a tranquil billabong where ducks glide in lazy circles. Stone paths loop beneath deep shade, and discreet plaques add just enough historical context to make the trees feel like old friends rather than museum exhibits. Venture beyond the grand old specimens and you reach the Garden for the Future, a striking contrast full of textures and colour. Here drought-tolerant beds bristle with succulents and silver foliage, while steel pavilions cast patterned shadows across gravel paths. Even in peak summer the breeze funnels through, and the plant palette proves water-wise gardens can be vibrant rather than sparse. Families find their happy place at the Alice in Wonderland playground. Giant red-speckled mushrooms double as climbable sculptures, mirrors distort reflections for giggles, and a wide croquet lawn invites cartwheels as often as mock matches. Clean toilets, free electric barbecues, and plenty of benches mean you can easily turn a quick stroll into an unhurried afternoon. Level pathways keep the whole site welcoming for wheelchairs and prams, and clear signage points to drinking fountains and quiet picnic nooks. What lifts the gardens above the ordinary is how smoothly the old and new sit side by side. It feels as natural to rest under a century-old oak as it does to wander through cutting-edge planting schemes. Whether you want to sketch heritage trees, collect design ideas for a dry backyard, or simply let children run until they are pink-cheeked and happy, Bendigo Botanic Gardens delivers.

Well, I came to visit Bendigo from Melbourne. I was under the impression that this botanic garden is well developed similar to the others, but it still needs lots of work. Besides, they need to invest with different types of plants to make it more of a botanic garden. Having said that, there are a few toilet facilities, though they need renovations as some toilet seats are broken. BBQ and playground areas are ok.
Hayden — Google review
A lovely, although small botanic garden. Information labels at the base of many trees and shrubs need replacing as they are totally faded. Female toilets need upgrading! 😞

The space has also been designed to suit those of all ages. So, if your Young Adventurers are into exploring, climbing, bouncing, crawling, sliding or swinging they will find all of that here and much more. Coffee, Hotdogs, BBQ area and facilities all nearby

Great Spot for a Family Day Out! Lake Weeroona is perfect for large family groups. There’s plenty of space, a lovely walking track, a great playground, BBQ areas, and clean facilities. The kids had a blast, and the adults enjoyed the relaxed vibe by the water. Easy parking and a nice café nearby made it even better. Highly recommend for a chilled day outdoors!

Great play area for kids, good equipment and safely gated. Some good shade from big trees on the side. Nice lakeside view. Appreciate the coffee truck next to it and there is convenience of public toilet too. Downside is that it's a little crowded (went on a sunny summer day).
Hui C — Google review
Great park and play space for kids and families. Surrounded by the beautifully serene Lake Weerona. Great for a pitstop if you need to stretch your legs!
Alex K — Google review
Wide open space playground with options for many ages. Water play, jungle gym, exploration section and also a little one play area. BBQ’s under canopy, food trucks usually parked in the parking lot and plentiful areas to go walking and exploring. Kids will love the large slide, climbing pyramid and the water play area on those hot summer days. A couple of large trees provide some shady areas but mostly sun for all sitting on a bench watching their kids. The new park replaced a pretty good old park that encouraged exploring on their own. Plan on 100 or so visitors on a sunny day and even more when the weekend or holidays are happening.

What an absolute joke this place has become. Attended at 1pm Saturday 3rd May with my two kids. After being there for 5-10 minutes my daughter called out for me in the mini section “mum I just stood on what felt like a pin stabbed my foot” (this was in the ball pit) I assessed her foot, took her sock off I found what appeared to be a tiny red mark. I removed my kids from the area then alerted a staff member about the situation. After she and a man staff member assessed the ball pit for a few brief moments. The man staff member then approached me with a terrible attitude and told me “there was a absolutely no way your child could have stood on something sharp in there” I responded with “that is a statement that you can’t actually for sure guarantee, you don’t know for sure someone hasn’t left something sharp in there. My daughter told me what happened and I have told you” he then proceeded to tell me that couldn’t have been the case. At this point I said “I’ll talk to anyone else about this as your being quite arrogant to me” he then asked me to leave the premises!!! “You can leave and I’ll get you vouchers for another day” excuse me no!! My child reported being hurt then was dismissed and we were asked to leave because I was advocating for my child! This is truly poor staff behaviour for what should be a child safe space. If the owners would like to reach out or even review the cctv footage from the time and area In question I would appreciate and happily discuss further as to the situation. But the camera footage will show the situation unfolding see my child reach out ect!!

I have always wanted this to be an amazing venue , but it’s far from it. Equipment is old and sub standard. Some staff are great, the one that has served me recently was rude (again) and needs some good training. Early 2025 , with a lot of low review scores , they have purchased 5 Star reviews from Bangladesh to boost ratings!!! Funny reading though to be fair.

It has plenty of trampolines and foam pits, the place has like no air conditioning and always feels stuffy and sweaty in there, toilets need to be cleaned more often. And the place just feels dirty and grimy. Otherwise had fun.

Staff here are absolute flogs!! I was reprimanded for going inside the playground area without jumpz socks on to assist my injured crying toddler. I wasn’t on the play equipment just assisting my crying 2 year old. I was told that if I need to assist my kid I would need to go all the way down to the service counter and buy a pair of sock and then I can assist my crying injured toddler.

The Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre in Melbourne offers a great gym with different types of equipment for kids, as well as a heated pool and spa. The cafe also makes great coffee.
I highly regret enrolling my 9-year-old child at this swimming institute. Initially, the experience seemed great with one instructor for every three kids, but recently, the class sizes have grown to more than five kids per instructor. This has resulted in no real focus on the individual needs of the children. My child is just going through the motions, swimming laps with no corrective guidance or improvement. The facility itself is consistently disappointing. The access gates are often malfunctioning, and it’s a hassle to even get in. The staff seem clueless when it comes to handling simple queries. To make matters worse, the toilets and changing rooms are often blocked off for group use, leaving kids with no access when they need it. The facility is incredibly hot and unbearable, making it uncomfortable to even be inside for more than a few minutes. Overall, this is a poorly managed facility that should not be in operation, especially given that it’s not even that old. Very disappointing, and I will be pulling my child out as soon as possible.
Vinson C — Google review
Children’s Safety Compromised at Gurri Wanyarra During my 3 year old swimming lesson, my child swam off the safety platform and struggled with no help from staff or lifeguards. I had to run to the pool myself. This is a warning to parents: the centre runs lessons with 1 instructor to 5 young children; in our experience, this ratio is unsafe and leaves kids vulnerable. There are no proper flotation devices, only loose noodles, and lifeguards do not actively monitor the classes. Beyond safety, the customer experience is appalling. • Make up classes are only valid for 2 weeks, which is unrealistic given how often children get sick. This was also not told to us from the start of our lessons. • We were hit with mystery charges that even staff could not explain, and when we questioned them, the woman receptionist was extremely rude, to the point that my spouse was left in tears after being shouted at. • The toilets and change rooms smell strongly of urine, showing an obvious problem with cleanliness and maintenance of the pipes. We’ve pulled our child from lessons and demanded a refund. This is the worst customer service we have ever experienced, and combined with the lack of safety, I cannot recommend this facility to any parent. The Bendigo community deserves far better than a pool that cuts corners at the expense of children’s safety.
Angelina L — Google review
The lifeguards need to lift their game and stop walking around like they're gods gift. Some of the younger lifeguards are very lazy and cannot be bothered picking up all the noodles and equipment ppl leave around the hydro pool and its an absolute eye sore. The centre really need to lift their game and get these lifeguards re trained
Julie B — Google review
Love the rest of the facility, but the gym is currently a nightmare in terms of actually getting access to equipment. There’s no cap on the amount of members who can be in the facility all at once, so if you plan on going at any time from 4pm - 7pm, you’ll be spending most of your time waiting on equipment to even complete a workout. The entire facility doesn’t stay open for much longer after that, so you really don’t get too many options of actually getting a decent workout in. Tonight took me an hour and a half to get a 40 minute workout in. I’ve been going for several months now, and if it wasn’t for the rest of the facility, I would choose any other major gym instead.
Matt G — Google review
The lifeguards told me off for letting my children climb in my shoulders in the swimmjng water. They then told me off for me child swimming more than 1 arm length away from me, even though both parents were constantly watching. I guess no play or independent swimming allowed at this place. Pretty rubbish experience having teenagers tell me how to parent.
F G — Google review
The worst center ever. I had a really bad experience. I had a voucher for my sons for the swimming classes, they spend the whole money during the christmas break while there were no classes, no body told us what we need to do to save the voucher. Also I have been advised that my younger son should be in the next level but I couldn't find a spot so I asked them to suspend his membership until we can find a spot then I have to cancel and they have charged me again!!!. I tried to discuss that on the live chat and "Thiana" shut the conversation saying you can review the debit success?!!!! and that was very rude. I don't recommend this center.
Radwa H — Google review
review should be 0. My name is Ashlee Hill. I signed up for a membership at Gurri Wanyarra several weeks ago during a promotion with, supposedly, no sign-up fee. I have only used the facility once or twice since joining. due to the negligence of the staff, Despite this, I have been multiple hundreds of dollars in recurring fees for reasons that have never once been explained to me. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed by this experience, especially since it had made me have additonal fees as well from not only gurri, but my bank. I have visited the facility on two separate occasions attempting to understand the problem, rationally and respectfully, understanding it isnt the staffs fault and seeking assistance, but each time I was told that no staff member available could help me. and to " come in another time" If the staff on duty are unable to resolve these issues, I would like to know who can. I am requesting a full refund of ALL charges. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will have no choice but to cancel my membership, report this incident to both the police and my bank, and take further action to recover not only the funds taken but also compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused, in addition to the bank fees. Please note that this is not an isolated incident—I am aware of others who have experienced similar issues, more money being taken, random fees, not cancelling or continuing to charge them after they cancel your membership... I could go on, I strongly advise anyone considering Gurri Wanyarra to reconsider, unless they are prepared to risk unauthorized withdrawals and receive no support or compensation in return. I expect this issue to be addressed as a matter of urgency. Sincerely, Ashlee Hill

Hi Cheryl you should try the food at the Goodloaf as you won't be disappointed and sourdough bread is fermented bread which is good for your gut as it isn't full of yeast like other breads which makes you bloated and isn't good for your gut! Sourdough isn't heavy on your stomach and because it isn't full of yeast and other preservatives and also has live cultures like taking inner health and puts good cultures into your gut like saurakreat, kambucha, yogurt and keifer and fermented foods! There's so much crap in the food you buy from the supermarket that's why people are getting sick!

Even during peak hours, when the bakery is bustling with activity, the thoughtful acoustic design prevents excessive noise, allowing customers to enjoy their meals in a pleasant and relaxed setting. The overall experience at Beechworth Bakery Bendigo is one of quality, tradition, and innovation. It’s the perfect blend of old-fashioned hospitality with modern convenience, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite, catching up with friends over coffee, or simply indulging in a delicious treat, this bakery delivers on every level. Highly recommended!

This place was amazing and caught us by surprise during our visit to Bendigo for Easter weekend. Ned kelly pie is a must try. We also loved the German donuts and jam donuts. Coffee was amazing as well. I would love to visit this next time when i visit the region.

We stayed across the road so ventured over to see what we could pick up for an early dinner. Well. We got the pie tasting board and loved it. Favourite would have to be the chicken and leek. No, the cauliflower. No, the Ned Kelly. No the Pepper Steak. No, the… you get the drift. All good. We went back the next morning for coffee and to pick up sandwiches for the road. Great sandwiches. Providing plenty of off street parking, indoor or outdoor seating, clean toilets and great staff, you’d be barmy to miss this bakery if in Bendigo.

Another great bakery by Beechworth Bakery. Very clean and friendly staff. It’s a large open space shop. I felt like there could have been a couple more chairs and tables as it was full. Everything we ordered was delicious and was priced reasonably. I have had good experiences at the Beechworth Bakery stores and this is an example of a successful business. Highly recommended

I ordered the Beechworth steak pie, expecting it to offer unique bakery flavours, but it turned out to be just a classic pie. However, their Sri Lankan beef pie was reasonably flavourful.

Popped in here today for a quick lunch. The 3 of us had chicken schnitzel, a pigging steak burger and fish& chips, all $15 specials and once again delicious. Honestly, you just can't go wrong with these Monday to Friday lunchtime specials at The Bridge Bendigo. Definitely hit the spot. ☺️😉

Good to see a decent popular pub reopen. Very quiet for a Saturday but the weather was average. Good pub classics done well. Generous and tasty servings. Hopefully when busier the venue is staffed appropriately. A little bit slow getting any table service as we were only the 2 nd group in restaurant. A bigger group in the bar area though. Overall I would recommend this place. The menu is good. You know what you’re getting. Friendly staff too

Came for lunch as they are dog friendly and we had our dashie with us. They were amazing! Brought out water for our pup and put one of the heaters on for the table and the food was delicious! Strongly recommend the honey soy wings, they were so good, very moreish. All round it was a wonderful experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meal was great, we were told full table service, yet we had to go to the bar to order our drinks. I would only come back if I had my husband with me, as Claude is a very scary person who disturbs the patrons. Plus I didn’t like walking through the bar to get to my dining table as I had to walk through a very crowded room with people who were blocking my path way…too intimidating especially with Claude coming and going at the same time

Very disappointed with one of our fav pubs Have been coming here for a long time and thought we’d pop in for a meal early week. Had the lamb shank and the beef cheek. Both had been precooked and heated up. Broccolini was the freshest thing on the plate. Lamb shank had no sauce. Suffice to say won’t come here again for food.

A return visit to this little corner store with a big "local" vibe! Had sweet potato fritters-delicious and crispy! Coffee is excellent. Tea selection is amazing! I loved that my lemon grass and ginger tea came with a brewing timer! The sweet cabinet looked awesome, but I dare not look too hard as I am trying to be "good" and I would have had zero resistance! Friendly and quick service as we sat in the window seat with the winter sun streaming in warming heart and soul!

Travelling through Bendigo to Queensland and really needed a good breakfast. This place was recommended to us by a local, so we stopped in. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food and coffee were all delicious, beautifully presented and well priced.

Service was off, very young untrained staff. A foreboding man with a stealthy glare watched the young junior while she took our orders nervously. She obviously hadn’t set a table before. I have an aversion to runny yolk so asked for it medium. Was told abruptly it was either hard or soft. Egg was so hard it took force to cut it and it was inedible. See pics. Rest of meal was adequate but the vibe was really off.

We had a lovely breakfast here in June 2025. It's be favourite coffee shop of my best friends whenever they travel to Bendigo for many years and of course, it's on my lists to visit, too 🤗

A lovely place for breakfast or lunch on a delightful suburban street in Bendigo. I came for brunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We were seated in the window and had our coffee and food orders taken straight away. The place was busy with people seated outside the front and in the courtyard out the back. There were plenty of staff to attend to everyone and we received our coffees relatively quickly. The coffees and food were very well presented and fantastic quality. The prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Me and my mum went here for brunch a this morning. We came here for a late breakfast (duh) and when I walked in, I was honestly disappointed. I looked at the reviews and they looked pretty good, but the atmosphere wasn't great. It almost had no personality and almost dated. it was Friday morning (My school had day off) so there was only about 3 or so other pairs of people there. We were seated by a young girl pretty quickly, and she was nice. So then we got meals and waited a reasonable 10-15 minutes, but it was so noisy. Instead of there being only 2 or 3 pairs of other people it sounded like 20 people. So that bought my experience down a little. However, it was almost worth it when the meals came. My meal is the one in the picture: it was a apple and cinnamon pancake, and it was so GOOD! But so filling omg! I was stuffed lol but it was super yum! Then after we left we said bye and all the other staff said bye too even though we don't know them because we have only gone there once before, but I still reckon it was really nice.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and full of flavor, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Every plate was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. They were attentive without being pushy — really professional and kind. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. Clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely environment. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

What a delicious surprise this place was. Highly recommend the avocado (which is actually the best guacamole I ever tasted) with crispy delicious bacon on crusty sourdough. My son had peanut butter on toast, simple but delicious and creamy. My husband had the Spanish breakfast. Practically licked his plate. Coffee also exceptional. Lovely staff, especially the chef who I suspect is the owner. Unassuming little gem. Loved it and won’t go anywhere else for breakfast in Bendigo again!

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptionally delicious, offering a symphony of flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The ambiance added to the overall experience, with a stunning setting that was both inviting and picturesque. What stood out most, however, was the service. The staff was not only efficient but also incredibly friendly and charming, making our meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful culinary experience combined with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Stumbled upon this place, isn't that always the best way on a dreary Saturday. Ate in the alleyway. Pleasant service and really delicious food. We choose simply because we were not that hungry. The banana bread with cinnamon butter was delicious and just the right amount of bready, the other item we tried was the three cheese toasty. High quality cheese, really well toasted. It is harder to do than one might imagine. I'd certainly recommend this place, the other food we saw came out looked fabulous. Go try this if you haven't!

After the local Parkrun this was the place for many of those runners to have a post run coffee. We went in for breakfast and found the food and coffee were very good and well presented by friendly staff. We didn't get to look around at all the items on shelves but we had to be on the road fairly quickly. Very busy when we we're the at 9.30am.

The cafe itself is lovely and the food/coffee (coffee not served hot) was great. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience enjoyable. However, I did notice that a couple staff members didn’t seem as engaged, while some were working really hard, others weren’t pulling their weight or offering much help and seemed to be standing around not running coffee to the customer (explains the warm drink) It made the service feel a little inconsistent. With a bit more teamwork and attentiveness from everyone, this place could be excellent.

Had dinner here with the family on our recent visit to Bendigo and I must say it is underrated! The food was really good and was loved by my picky children ☺️ so that’s a really good sign. A lovely area of natural native bushland that's nestled between houses and not-so-busy roads. It's relatively small, however, it feels good, and birds happily sing amongst the trees. There are winding paths and several streams to explore, which make it feel much larger. The streams come from the overflow of the reservoir and, in places, there are rocky causeways that are great for crossing over to other meandering paths. Some of the paths are covered with bitumen whilst others are natural earth. I really liked having that choice! Several paths open out onto the lake area of the reservoir, where there is a well-placed toilet block. From there, you can take the path alongside the water or choose another path back into the trees. There's also plenty of parking on the roads alongside the reservoir areas.

If you're looking to explore a unique blend of history and culture, Sandhurst Gaol should definitely be on your itinerary. Originally built in the 1860s as a Pentonville-style prison, this fascinating site has been transformed into the stunning Ulumbarra Theatre since 2015. The theatre's name, meaning "gather together" in the Dja Dja Warrung language, reflects its role as a community hub for contemporary arts while still echoing tales from its past.
We did the gaol tour on New Year’s Eve and it was an amazing experience. The tour guide was super friendly and informative. We had a fun time.
Rebecca C — Google review
Our group was keen to learn about the jail and the first 10mins was promising. However, there was a lot more content about the theatre (it’s use for private events, its capacity, the acoustics etc) than the jail and its history so in some respects being sold as a tour of the jail is a bit misrepresented. There were areas that looked intriguing, like the underground tunnel and second level cells, that were not part of the tour yet our group paused to see the stage area. Our tour guide was lovely but the way the tour is presented online isn’t accurate and there are things about how the space is presented physically that are not great - understandably there is construction and maintenance but surely there is somewhere better for scaffold than on former prisoners graves in the prison yard? We are glad it’s not expensive as it’s not what we expected.
Amity C — Google review
I've never seen prison premises turned into school and its main prison building turned into a theater, yet it worked perfectly fine in Bendigo, creating a true eclectical architectural masterpiece!

Needs a makeover badly! 2 floors closed in full. 1 old step escalator Ok range Myer really needs to be fixed up its showing every part of its 150 years. I believe once it's fixed up it will be lovely
Cliff B — Google review
The old section needs a refurbish and hard to know where to go lack of signage. Staff hard to find to ask where things are. Well stocked. Staff friendly when you find them. Maybe it was just a day where they were short staffed.
Eva B — Google review
I never ever had such a professional friendly service in any other Myer store (im from Melbourne). The wonderful lady from shoes-socks department did wonder for me: revealed my long lost myer card, did phone calls etc. for me. So i left shop with my myer card No restored and written for me! Her younger assistant showed me how to use myer app. Very happy. Go there and enjoy long forgotten customer treatment:)And good prices too.
Katerina N — Google review
They had nice and clearance racks. The building is very old compared to other Myers I’ve been to. I like how the staff kinda left me alone. It’s a bit tricky to find escalators, though 😅

I really want to share the great experience I had dealing with Rex in the toy section yesterday (friday 1/8/25). We were looking for a specific pixar cars toy that wasn't on the shelf, Rex was sure they had it somewhere but it was difficult to locate due to the relocation of the toy section some items were not on the shelf, Rex went above and beyond to locate it for us, despite dealing with multiple customers at once. We weren't fussed and said it was okay we would pick something else with no issues, but Rex was determined & made multiple phone calls and checked everywhere to find it for us. We went home with a very happy 2 year old and were blown away with the wonderful service! Thank you Rex! I hope you are positively recognised by management and I know you have a great future in customer service if that's the role you want to pursue!

Palling Bros Brewery is a small brewery located in Heathcote. They handcraft artisan beer that you can enjoy in their large, dog-friendly undercover areas. The atmosphere is relaxing and nice, the food is delicious, and the cappuccino is top-notch. The staff are friendly and great at customer service. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!
We came here for dinner after a long and beautiful hike. We were fortunate to arrive before the kitchen closed and decided to order their cheeseburger. We were also happy to see that they have New England IPA (NEIPA), which paired perfectly with the burger. The burger was juicy, and the portion of fries was just right, all enjoyed from a spot with a lovely view overlooking the city. We definitely want to return the next time we are in Heathcote. The service was super friendly, quick, and felt like home.

Nice place to sit down. Little corner playground for the kids. Service bit slow wait for food for quite sometimes. Taste ok only for the burger but nice for the beer 🍺 All the 5 beers tried all tasted good
Aud J — Google review
What a great spot. Food was delicious and the drinks were cold. Happened to be a quiz on the evening we went so stayed for that. Would def recommend. Kid friendly too
Rachael T — Google review
50 minute wait for a meal. No explanation until we asked at the 40 minute mark. Happy to take our money and just waiting for more people to come and batch cook everything. People who came well after us got served first. Made our child wait for a simple fish and chip meal that’s literally two pieces of fish and just chips. Extremely poor service - take your hard earned money elsewhere where it’s appreciated.

An absolute must. DON’T DRIVE PAST! Wish this was my local. Great rustic industrial vibe, DOG & KID friendly outside area undercover. Excellent beers, and the food was delicious. I had the vegan version of the tacos which were served with home made everything, pickled onions, zesty pesto and a curried chickpea filling. The boys had a vegan burger and a chicken burger and the cauliflower and hazelnut salad just amazing. Now for the drinks. Wow, what a fantastic selection of award winning brews and the Berried Treasure Sour was off the charts good! Service so so friendly and Owner Peter was more than happy to chat about his beers!
Tanina O — Google review
The view from the canola field was stunning, and the food was actually delicious. Unfortunately, our whole mood was ruined by the staff’s attitude. Instead of simply explaining our questions politely, the staff chose to respond with sarcasm and harsh looks. It completely killed the vibe and even our appetite. Good food can’t make up for a service experience that feels disrespectful.
Rifki — Google review
Sun lunch, great selection of tap beers, good friendly service, loved the German sausage dog Cheers
Ken Y — Google review
Food is awful. The rib was rupulsive, pulled pork burger was gross, chips soggy. Outdoor area has so much potential - but feels like a prison yard. Such a shame. Selection of beers were good though - would strongly suggest yall change the menu and keep it simple if meat has to be frozen to keep up with demand. No shame in having nachos, cheese boards and toasted sandwiches at a brewery. Cheap and don’t require a freezer or a microwave.

Had a beautiful and nourishing lunch here today. Vegan options were numerous and impressive. Minor confusion with the order, but very promptly and carefully handled by staff that really care about doing things well. We enjoyed the experience and walked away happy. Will return at next opportunity!

Stopped here for lunch today and had their smoke lentil and tomato soup which was delicious! I was with a party of 3 who all enjoyed their meals and great coffee. Staff were all so friendly and attentive too!

Passed by Bendigo and found this place to be highly recommended. Food was so tasty and healthy. The deco in this place is gorgeous too. They also sell fresh produce and plants.
Nicole N — Google review
Had undercooked sweets there twice. The first was a peanut butter cookie, the staff tried to convince me it was supposed to be that consistency, unfortunately I was not convinced as I'd had a few there prior to being served up an undercooked one. The staff offered to replace it with another raw one which I declined, no other replacement or refund offered for the uneaten cookie. Today it was two take away slices of apple crumble. With undercooked raw goo on top. Paid $14 for two servings of pure Yuck. Couldn't take it back as I was on my way to Melbourne when I realised. No cutlery in the packages either. Won't order apple crumble or peanut butter cookies again. Just the thought of eating these greasy undercooked sweets is enough to put me off. Had other meals there. Quality is poor and overpriced. Hot chocolate is great to have there, take away cups are too small.

Gardens
Queen Victoria Gardens, located just off St. Kilda Road, offer a picturesque and easily accessible escape into nature. Unlike the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens, this ornamental garden features open spaces, ponds, sculptures, and statues that create a perfect setting for a leisurely picnic. The gardens are part of the Domain Parklands and serve as a memorial to Queen Victoria. One of its most famous attractions is the large floral clock adorned with over 7,000 flowers that are changed twice yearly.
Queen Victoria Gardens is a beautiful and well-maintained green space, perfect for relaxation. Located near a train station, it’s easily accessible. The gardens feature mature trees, vibrant flower beds, and sculptures, offering a peaceful retreat in the city.
Payman — Google review
This is a nearly 5 hectare public park and garden and part of the Green Lung of parks south of the Yarra River and to the east of St Kilda Road. It is positioned just south of the Alexandra Garden and north of the Kings Domain. The park is nicely laid out with charming walking paths, nice landscaping, tall mature trees providing shade and oriental ponds, providing tranquil and calm places to read a book or just sit in peace. The gardens also have a fair number of monuments including large scale memorials to Queen Victoria & King Edward VII, where you also find the famous Floral Clock and a rotunda dedicated to Lady Janet Clarke. You'll also find other several smaller monuments scattered throughout the Gardens including those around and in the ornamental ponds such as frog and water nymph and the more contemporary sculptures in the open lawns including such as Pathfinder and Genie amongst others.
Brad — Google review
A peaceful green space right in the heart of Melbourne. Wide lawns, beautiful seasonal flowers, and sculptures make it perfect for a slow walk or a quiet picnic. The gardens are well kept and easy to reach — a lovely spot to pause and enjoy nature. #genastar

Peaceful and Picturesque – Queen Victoria Gardens, Melbourne Queen Victoria Gardens is one of Melbourne’s most beautiful and relaxing green spaces. Located just across from the Arts Centre and close to the Yarra River, it offers a perfect escape from the busy city streets. The moment you step into the gardens, you're surrounded by lush lawns, colourful flower beds, and beautifully landscaped paths that invite you to slow down and enjoy the serenity. I found it to be a perfect spot for a peaceful walk, reading a book, or simply unwinding under the shade of the trees. The gardens are particularly stunning in spring and summer when the flowers are in full bloom, adding vibrant colour and a pleasant fragrance to the air. Its proximity to the river makes it a great stop during a walk along the Yarra or while exploring Melbourne’s cultural precinct. The famous Floral Clock and elegant statues throughout the gardens add a touch of charm and history. Whether you're a local looking for a quiet place to relax or a visitor exploring the city, Queen Victoria Gardens offers a tranquil and scenic experience right in the heart of Melbourne.

It’s a clean beautiful garden with benches for tired feet as well. There were many beds of tulips and other colourful flowers. A small pond with about a dozen ducks was a huge magnet for children, as they swam and dive into the pond.
