Roadhouse Bastrop is a family-friendly grill known for its delicious burgers, sandwiches, and vegetarian options. The rustic charm of the wood-sided building and patio creates a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy their award-winning food. This eatery has been serving old-fashioned themed dishes since 2004 and has been recognized as the best burger spot in Bastrop for an impressive 16 years in a row.
After six years, this was our second visit – and my wife’s original statement, “best burger ever,” still holds true. Friendly staff and delicious burgers. If we return to Bottrop, we’ll definitely stop by again.

I wish I got our waitresses name because she was so sweet and very accommodating to our needs. (Pretty eyes with a piercing) Will for sure come back to dine in this establishment if I’m ever in the area again. I probably wouldn’t order the chili cheese fries just because the shredded cheese seemed too dry for my liking but it had a good flavor to it. The hamburgers are huge but very tasty.
Zayin R — Google review
We waited until after 3pm to miss the lunch crowd, we did not miss the crowd. Thankfully, they have additional indoor areas. So, accommodations... good. Servers were very friendly and informative. They also have different recipe buns that accentuate the whole burger experience. Jalapeno / cheese bun for me, thank you very much. So, beef good. Really good burger and was made to perfection. If you drive by and your hungry, just stop. You will not regret it, it was really tasty.

I can’t remember if I have left a review at this place or not but if I did it’s good enough to leave another one! I found out about this place through coworkers and it doesn’t disappoint. The service is fast and the burgers are good! Everytime I’m in the area I stop by. It’s a highly recommend place to go. They bought the building next door so now there’s more room for seating. I get the western burger with no onions and it hits the spot. I also get the peanut butter chocolate milkshake! Prices are good as well. Worth the money!
Michael B — Google review
There’s a lot of buzz about this spot—and after finally checking it out, I can confidently say the hype is real. The menu is packed with incredible options, from comfort food favorites to creative dishes you don’t always see in a small-town restaurant. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re passing through Bastrop, this place is definitely worth the stop.

Order 2 Chicago style hot dogs about 40 to 50 minutes before pick up got there at 7 o'clock. They were not ready. I waited 24 minutes longer. I walked in the door as a woman was coming out. I said, what's the name on that order? She says it starts with a C i said that's me, she said, i'm very sorry. Your food has been overpriced ever since COVID. Your staff has always been underpaid and I'm guessing, but I don't know that your landlord is the one who wants a percentage of your profits on top of the rent. If you can't run a business equally and profitably, where you're at, then move to a different location and treat your employees right and adjust your prices. I am not coming back. Your employees are not my problem. They're your employees you pay them. I forgot to mention why I put the pictures of the hot dogs if you look closely. One is a full length of the bun, and the other is a regular hot dog.
Cevon C — Google review
The food & service was great! This spot is very unique. Was a bit warm inside but we still enjoyed our lunch. About $50 for 2 people.
Shyanna T — Google review
Quick service, seating inside was comfortable and more in the outside area. Bacon cheese burger fantastic and juicy, Avocado burger same, and the layered queso bean dip hit the spot

Nestled in the historic downtown area of Bastrop, Texas, Maxine's Cafe & Bakery is a charming brick-walled cafe that offers a cozy atmosphere and serves up generous portions of Southern dishes. From catfish and collards to hearty breakfast options like omelets, biscuits & gravy, and chicken & waffles, this eatery is known for its satisfying meals. The food as always is absolutely delicious! The wait is worth it! Breakfast and lunch has never tasted better! The sweet tea is outta this world! The service is wonderful always smiles and quick!! The decorations make the place feel even more like old home and if you get the chance, ask for Linda the server! She's been her for 15 years!!
Grady G — Google review
This place is clearly the most popular eating establishment in the historic downtown, and I expected to be absolutely delighted. After being seated after about a half hour on a weekday, we waited another few minutes before the server came over. The food offerings are extensive, and we settled on Chicken and Waffles, Chicken and Dumplings, and sides of biscuits and fried okra. The food took awhile to get there, but we knew the kitchen was very busy. The chicken and waffles, the huge biscuits, and the fried okra were all very good, though the chicken was left in the fryer a bit longer than I prefer. The Chicken and Dumplings, on the other hand, I simply couldn’t eat. They were so heavily laden with herbs (parsley?) that my usual go-to comfort food was inedible. On the whole, it was a good experience, but now I know what not to order.

First time to visit & tour downtown historic Bastrop Texas — including our lunchtime stop here at Maxine’s Cafe. Amazing service — very personable & chatty server. Good selection of both breakfast & lunchtime entrees. I liked my Monte Cristo sandwich. My wife & mom split a massive planet-sized chicken fried steak smothered in gravy. Venue is appropriately situated in a historic building with original brick walls. Located on tourist friendly Main Street nestled among other shops.

Best chicken and waffles I've ever had !!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy! Post trip edit: It took a little bit of time to get sat with a group of our size but both waitresses were very prompt with getting us taken care of! I wish I got the ladies names since they did such a great job! A read headed woman and a brunette. Both ladies were so friendly and made our visit even more enjoyable! The mimosas were PERFECT! I loved the mason jars for all our drinks too, I feel like it makes it taste better haha While the chicken and waffles are my personal highlight of the day, all the extra sides I got to taste were great! The biscuit was HUGE and made perfectly. Buttery and salty, dense but still very moist. Fried green tomatoes were delicious and so were the sweet potato fries! Our group will be coming back asap!!

I love to travel. Finding new places to eat is a big part of traveling for me. I particularly enjoy finding out of the way restaurants to try. Bastrop Texas is a very nice town kind of off the beaten path but real Texas. My traveling buddy and I decided to try Maxine's for a quick breakfast stop and we were not disappointed. The service was Texas friendly. It's my kind of place. Tidy, clean, comfy with plenty of Texas memorabilia on the wall. I ordered biscuits and gravy with home fries. I know, it's an easy to prepare meal but I have had bad versions so this was a pleasant surprise. Nice crispy potatoes and super tasty gravy on tender, fluffy biscuits. Just the kind of meal you would expect in Texas. Hearty and great tasting. Prices are very reasonable and like I said the service and atmosphere just what we were looking for in the great state of Texas. If you are hungry and in the area you should definitely give it a try.

Visited town and chose this place for the pies. The chocolate pie was barely chocolate flavored. And the waitress brought this piece of cheesecake and literally said, the center collapsed so this is the best I could do. That’s ok, right?” It was the first piece cut out of the cheescake in the display case, she couldn’t try again for a better slice? And then when I started to eat it I wondered if it was even set in the center, was it meant to be liquid? The outside rim was the only firm part. I just didn’t really know what I was eating. They refunded the chocolate pie. I don’t know if I was actually eating cheesecake or not, so didn’t want to complain. I was just surprised they didn’t care at all about presentation and plopped what looked like something scraped together at home as leftovers. Kid waitresses. All.

Sadly I don't have a pic of one of the best burgers I've ever eaten (w/ blue cheese & grilled onions) cooked to perfection. My daughters Reuben was also the bomb. As were the cheesecakes. Thank you Maxine's crew!!! Did get a pic of the half eaten choc covered strawberry cheesecake...mmm.

Fun and delicious seafood restaurant. I enjoyed a combo basket with blackened catfish and fried shrimp. Their hush puppies and onion rings were delightful too. The restaurant has many tables and booths, as well as several benches along the sidewalk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is free parking along surrounding streets. We look forward to going back several more times!

Stumbled upon this restaurant while at a dance competition in Bastrop and wow, what I find. Started with something I have never heard of or had before, deep fried deviled eggs served with a side of ranch dressing. They were fabulous. Had catfish and shrimp basket and it was wonderful. Couldn’t pass up the banana pudding and it did not disappoint. Service was great and efficient.

Was passing through with my brother and we wanted to try a new place. Was Not disappointed with Paw Paws. Parked around the corner and after a short walk down old Main Street we were there. Had fried deviled eggs for the first time and they were amazing. The catfish had the perfect flavor with the perfect crisp and not soggy at all. The sides were great too and we even had the banana pudding. Awesome food, friendly staff and a new favorite spot! Highly recommend!

For lunch special at $10.50 plus tip $5 dollars you get this many fries plus 3 small pieces of fish. Good job my local fish restaurant. It took them 2 minutes to get my order out. Not coming back ever again. Oh, this take out plate was for my 80 year old mother
Viks — Google review
We live in the San Antonio area but love to eat here whenever we can get to Bastrop. The catfish and shrimp are so good. The coleslaw is a bit spicy so beware of that. My husband likes it but it's a bit too spicy for me. Pinto beans are really good. We went at 5 on Friday night and easily found a table but when we left around 5:45 there were lots of people waiting so go early. That just shows how good the food is.
Sue H — Google review
Today was my second visit in the past few months. Both times, service was very friendly and quick, food was hot and delicious, and prices are very reasonable. We split an order of onion rings which are HUGE, well-battered, and seasoned just right. Then we split the fried shrimp and fried catfish platter with French fries, hush puppies, cole slaw and beans. Everything was superb! The catfish was the best I’ve ever eaten - not fishy, firm, not slimy, and well-seasoned cornmeal batter. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant!
SHERI P — Google review
I'd heard the burgers were great there. Yes, I realize it's a catfish place, but I'm looking for obscure places in and around Texas to grab a great hamburger. Paw Paws did not disappoint! Highly recommend! And judging from the amount of clientele, I'm sure it's a fantastic place to grab some fresh catfish!

Amazing! Little diner tucked on the corner. The food, service and atmosphere are all top notch. Try the German chocolate cheesecake. It will become an obsession…

Loved this place. The food was amazing and the staff was super kind. Can’t wait to return. I went a bit healthier and it was still super good. Everyone else had chicken fried steak etc… and were so impressed.
Melanie H — Google review
We were starving after kayaking the river for over 3 hrs and Gracie’s was a recommendation given to us. We ordered mozarella sticks, chicken strips, catfish, chicken fried chicken and the rooster. All the food was perfectly crispy and delicious. And it came out pretty fast. This place will not disappoint you, a must try!

After a weekend of camping and hiking, I was starving—and this cheeseburger hit the spot! 🍔🔥 Parking on a Sunday was a battle, but worth every bite. Juicy, flavorful, and that special Dijon sauce? Game changer. I usually never finish a whole burger, but this time I did. Cozy spot, great service, and a burger that’ll make you forget how tired you are.
J S — Google review
Very unique dishes but definitely worth it! I ordered the Rosemary Peach Chicken with the garlic mashed potatoes and corn, and I LOVED it! Top 10 meals ever easily! Highly recommend!
Emily G — Google review
If I could give it more stars, I would. I was stuck in Bastrop longer than I expected, and decided to try this place on a whim. I was drawn in by how it looked—just like someone’s home—and I was pleasantly surprised to find the atmosphere just as warm and peaceful as it appeared. I would go there to do homework and eat dinner, and the waitresses were always so kind. The food was delicious—very Southern, very comforting—and the sweet tea was absolute perfection: not too sweet, not unsweetened, just right. To anyone who gets to experience that atmosphere: take a chance and people-watch. That little street is so quiet, green, and peaceful. This restaurant was one of the few places that truly made me feel homesick—in the best way. It reminded me of sitting on my mom’s front porch.

We found ourselves wandering the streets of Bastrop on Labor day and luckily came across Gracies. Ali took care of us like we were family and gave us all her top tier recommendations. We had the shrimp portofino and the rosemary peach chicken. I'm literally getting hungry writing this review. Everything was simply amazing. We started off with the fried okra, paced ourselves with the chicken and shrimp and a salad and sadly never made it to dessert. The mini-bakery alone is going to inspire me to intermittent fast the next time we come back. We also got to meet Emma who was super kind. Each person we encountered made sure we were taken care of and had all we needed. Why doesn't google let you leave 10 stars?

We sat outside to see Blaggards. Nice covered area to view the band. The service was fabulous. Our server gave us hand signs to use while the music was playing to order more drinks. The chicken fried steake was on point. She said the burger was delicious.

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Bastrop, Neighbor's Kitchen & Yard is a charming and inviting bar with a rustic vibe. The establishment boasts a spacious riverside deck where patrons can savor pizza, draft beer, cocktails, and live music. The diverse drink menu caters to various preferences. Guests can also enjoy an inventive menu featuring unique twists on classic dishes such as pizza, calzones, soup, and salad.
In one word: Superb. We came here after numerous recommendations from locals and wow were they right. Everything was right up our alley. There was a wait of 40 minutes for a table for two on a busy Thursday evening around 7:00. We were able to order a drink and sit at the bar and the service we got was excellent from a young long man with blonde hair, I wish I knew his name so I could commend him on his friendly cheerful service. When it was time to be seated we almost stayed inside but the evening was beautiful so we went out to the patio to eat. They have a text system so we were notified by phone that our table was ready and we had 10 minutes to settle up and be seated, it was all very easy. Our waitress outside was Jackie and she was so fun, she made great recommendations, checked in with us numerous times and definitely added to the experience. The food was excellent, we had wings as an appetizer and they were great, it didn’t hurt that we were starving! I ordered a half Caesar and a figgy calzones. The salad was very good as was the calzone, I’ve never seen some of the combinations they have on their menu and I love that they are so adventurous. My husband had the meatball sandwich and he enjoyed it very much, the meatballs were perfectly cooked and not at all dry as meatballs typically are. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, we were very happy with the bill and had leftovers today! The atmosphere is fun with fiesta lights making for a great vibe. While this restaurant does have river views, most of the tables, including ours have no view. This deserves a visit and a five star rating. The restroom was clean and well stocked but tough for us tall gals, the door is so close that my knees almost touched it!
Amanda M — Google review
Great outdoor eatery with awesome riverside vibe. We were here for early dinner on a Sunday. We had hot lil honey and chicken pesto pizzas. Got personal size and was perfect. We didn’t drink but beer looked cold and cocktails looked fresh and delicious. Nice little stop on our way back to Houston.
Melody G — Google review
We took a little day trip drive to Bastrop today and ate at Neighbor’s after visiting the bookstore on Main St. We came at around 11am on a Saturday, shortly after they opened and there were plenty of patio tables available. It did start to fill up as we ate, but even at noon, there were still open tables. They have tons of mister fans set up on the patios, so it was comfortable sitting outside. The pizzas were delicious! We also tried the homemade blueberry cobbler - it was very rich and yummy.
Gretchen D — Google review
This is a great place for lunch. The atmosphere is great with a beautiful view of the Colorado River from the outdoor decks. The dough used for the pizza and pepperoni rolls is delicious and there is a nice variety of craft beers to go along with the meal. And of special note, Jaylen is an awesome server! She served a perfect order and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Additionally, she saw our dog was with us and prepared a water bowl without us asking. Thank you Jaylen!

I love being adventurous and visiting random places on roadtrips. Let me tell you this was one of the best places I have visit. The food and drinks were on point and so delicious. The pizza bread omg was on point! I would recommend this place to everyone I know! Worth the stop for sure.
Chrissina M — Google review
Pizza was great but on the thin side. The wings although said to have habanero sauce were not spicy at all, but again very well cooked. My favorite was the meatballs. Perfect and moist with a nice marinara sauce. Excellent service. I can't wait to visit again and try the rest of the menu. Loved the margaritas and house salad too.
J E — Google review
Awesome pizza. You can even buy an uncooked pizza to prepare at home on a later date. Everything is scratch made. Your fur babies are welcome.
Delena — Google review
We came here on a whim and the food didn't disappoint. We picked up 2 calzones (el Camino and the ground philly). Both did not disappoint and they were so fresh. You could tell it was hand breaded and the el Camino had a nice surprise of pepperoni wrapped around the crust. We will definitely keep this place on our list for the future.

I have gone a few times now and really like it. The food is good. I like the chicken fried chicken! I really like some of their drinks. Nice place. They do let you have dogs outside.
Cherish S — Google review
We've lived in the Bastrop area over 5 years and only visited here once before for the live music. We decided to stop in for dinner this time. The vibe and location of this place automatically sets it up for success. At least, you would think. It began with men carrying large equipment through the dining room out to the patio for the live music. The equipment was carried over the head of more than one patron, which could have been catastrophic if even one part had fallen or slipped. It was also just unprofessional. We tried several mixed drinks, several appetizers, and several entrees. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the sausage platter was delicious. That's about all that was good. The fried pickles were way more fry than pickle, the asparagus was way over cooked, the mashed potatoes looked and tasted like they were from a box, and one of the mixed drinks was so bad, we sent it back and asked for bottled beer. Our waitress was supporting both inside and outside, and even though the dining room was less than half full, we waited extended periods of time each time we needed something; culminating in about a 15 min wait for our check before we finally got up and asked if someone could find our server so we could leave. I was really hoping to like this place; we're always looking for a place to get a good drink and steak, but I guess we'll have to keep looking.

First time here. Excellent place to grab a beer on tap and enjoy some good food and company. The menu is heavy on green chili's, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Highly recommend the chili artichoke dip. So good. Good beer selection too. In addition to the 602 brand, they also carry several others on tap and bottle. Will definitely be back next time I'm rolling through Bastrop!

We were in town from Austin and we stopped in starving for dinner and desperate to find a place that would be friendly and accommodating towards my brother who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. 602 sat us right away at a table my brother could have his wheelchair at too. Natalie was our server and she provided the BEST experience for us! She was so helpful and accommodating and kind. She was kind to my brother and made sure he had everything he needed. The food was great too!

The new menu is amazing, especially Annie's Southwest Eggrolls. Ask about the daily special, they rotate some very tasty dishes. The bread pudding is a great way to end your meal. They also brew their own beer, which you don't want to miss out on. They make a killer old fashioned as well. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights. I highly recommend.

Fresh food - had the 602 burger with great fresh toppings and the Ruben which was crispy and buttery with tender corn beef. House fries were ok, found clumps of goodness but not consistent. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was relaxing with large enough room between tables you don't feel crowded.

We love Simply Sweet, especially after they worked with our budget to provide an assortment of flavors at our wedding (roughly 50 people). My personal favorite flavor was the hummingbird but they were all magnificent. These guys are the definition of Mom and Pop when it comes to cupcake bakeries. I adore them and their whole vibe. If you're ever in Bastrop, please stop in and buy a cupcake. You won't be disappointed. They also regularly have gluten free flavors, which we needed for a few guests.

Love love love that they offer mini options of almost all the available flavors. The minis are a perfect size to get a taste for a great price. I got the triple berry mini, which was fresh, moist, and perfectly naturally sweet (without tasting sugary and without the frosting having the texture or consistency of granulated sugar). I also got a pecan pie cupcake (regular sized) to-go and enjoyed it immensely. It was a great texture, flavor, and size. Can’t wait to stop by for another cupcake soon - maybe I’ll get the flavor of the day next time!

Goodness Gracious! These are phenomenal cupcakes. And fresh baked from scratch!First time there, as just moved here. Bought dozen of mini cupcakes for Mothers Day. Very friendly and inviting. Will be back to get more on special occasions and just cause. Update: Ordered the gluten free carrot cupcakes for my Mom's bday. THEY ARE PHENOMAL!!!!!!🎂🍰. EVERYONE LOVED THEM!

If this isn’t the cutest charming locally owns spot. I got a sprinkle cookie that was buttery deliciousness. And the gingerbread latte was pretty darn good. It was a full menu with lighter bistro type items and ice cream. There are cute items to buy. I wish I had more time I would have stayed longer.
Danielle G — Google review
The history and charm of this shop immediately caught our attention and drew us in. The original furniture pieces add such a warm and nostalgic touch to the overall aesthetic, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The only letdown was finding out that the ice cream isn’t homemade or unique to the shop—it’s just Blue Bell. Now, as a lifelong Blue Bell fan, I’ll never turn it down, but with a place that has so much originality and character, we were hoping for a menu that reflected that same spirit. Still, it’s a cute spot and worth a visit for the atmosphere alone.

Stopped in for some coffee and a sweet treat. The hot latte with house made lavender syrup was really good. And the chocolate chip cookie hit the spot. They also have ice cream and other treats.

My wife and I got a strawberry lemon bar, a raspberry oatmeal bar, and a strawberry matcha latte. None of them were very good to be honest, but the staff was super friendly and helpful and the store has an old fashioned charm to it. The cookies, ice cream, and coffee all looked really good, so if we go back that is what I will get. It seems like they normally have old fashioned root beer that is made from a syrup mix, but their machine was broken when we visited. Something else to try next time!

Great spot to grab a meal or treat. We love that they have vegan options as well as Blue Bell.

We stopped here on our way back home in Austin from the Shiner brewery. It was a nice find. I enjoyed a delicious caramel latte served in a big French cafe au lait breakfast mug and an enormous hot while cinnamon roll covered with butter sauce while my wife had an iced tea and a large pumpkin bread scone also covered in a hot butter sauce. Our drinks and cakes were delicious. Our afternoon repast cost a very reasonable $22.21.

My husband and I fell in love with this place a few years ago. The farm to table concept makes it a special gem. Being able to eat food that is fresh and cared for properly is unparalleled. For brunch: we love the burger and black garlic fries. For dinner: we come here usually for the seafood tower. And we get the fries again. It feels like every time we come, the menu is slightly changed, and more so when the seasons turn over. The food is balanced and well seasoned. Many of their items carry a good amount of spice to them, which we love. And I don’t think I’ve ever had pickled veggies as good at Store Houses. The vibe and service: it’s definitely upscale but with an approachable and relaxed feeling. Eating Al Fresco in such a beautiful town, what more could you ask for?
Holly P — Google review
This place is a farm to table restaurant. I happen to stop in during happy hour and got a half priced bramble. It was very good and hit the spot on a hot day. The grass fed burger was excellent and the fries were hot and house made. Everything I put into you could taste the local freshness. Doesn’t look like you can go wrong here on what you get. When I was there August 2025 they were about to drop a new menu. They also have wine and desserts that all sounded really good. The staff all seemed upbeat, nice, and ready to serve you. They have a nice outdoor space and have a lot of seating inside. The prices are higher than what you probably would normally pay but it’s quality over quality here and it’s worth it.

We were in town for a wedding when we stopped in for brunch. The farm to table food is what drew me in, but words do not do this place justice. Delicious food, interesting and beautiful decor, and our server was pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Is this Bastrop’s secret gourmet experience? Brunch ambience was remarkable, service was exceptional. Loved the friendliness of Matt and Joyce, thank you for sharing so much about Bastrop! The decor of both the dining space and bar are hip yet country quaint. This place marries it all on top of exceptional fare. Crab cake Benedict was a hard 5/5, French toast with local peaches transcendent. This is no hyperbole, pull off 71 as soon as you can and make a visit!

After several of my mom's friends/customers ranting and raving about this place, my mom and I took four of my grandbabies, her great-grands, to visit the shop on July 24, 2025. We were definitely disappointed. It's an overpriced grocery store knock off with a few handmade treats. The pricing was very misleading, and when questioned why we were charged more than the advertised price, we were told the shelf pricing hadn't been changed, but it was current in their POS system. Seriously? Who does this? Needless to say, we WILL NOT be back, nor will we recommend it to anyone else. If there's room for improvement, it should be addressed!

I always have a pleasant experience when I go to Sugar Shack. Especially this evening since we went right before closing and the young man working was just the kindest person providing the best service despite the late hour. Southside Market & BBQ in Bastrop, Texas is a must-visit for barbecue enthusiasts. They are known for serving some of the best brisket and pork ribs in the state, along with delectable sides like mac and cheese and corn on the cob. The loaded baked potato and peach cobbler are also highly recommended. Visitors can indulge in a smoky adventure at this top BBQ joint, enjoying the ultimate Texas flavor and hospitality.
I usually have a good experience here, but this last time was great! Rosie cut our meat for us, and she was so sweet and funny. She had an amazing attitude even though the place was packed. Everyone worked quickly and efficiently to get through the crowd of people, the food was very good, and the place was exceptionally clean. We had brisket and sausage, and both were delicious. It's a good place for a good meal.

This was my first time eating here. Service was very enthusiastic and the seating was plentiful. Enjoyed the history that was all around you and the overall decor was just what you'd expect. The food was delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could have purchased some meat from their market.

Good honest food at a fair price. Consistently good, not as pricey as other restaurants. Little to no wait, always quiet & super clean, plenty of room, no tipping expected. Self-serve pickles, jalapeños, onion. Sausage jalapeño cheese bombs and pork steaks are filling. They never have lamb ribs when I'm there, but I hope to try that one day.
Paul S — Google review
Great BBQ. You will need to come back over and over again to make sure you sample everything on the menu. There is even prepackaged food to take home. Drive through is reasonably quick. Only frustration I have is that it takes so long to do a curbside order. Better allow 40 minutes to an hour for them to get it ready. Just go through the drive through, it's quicker.
Ken P — Google review
It was my first time trying Southside Market BBQ and frankly it was disappointing. The food was subpar and more expensive than BBQ from Lockhart. We ordered a Sasuage and Brisket sandwich and a plate of Brisket and Chicken. Mind you we paid $44. As soon as I saw the plate it looked bland and no surprise it was bland. The Brisket tasted like oven cooked Brisket. To make it worse it was cold. The chicken was no different. The sandwich was even worse. Take the cheapest burger buns and put no mayo, sauce, or anything to help balance the dryness of the bread and put meat in it. That is what I received. It was honestly gross because the meat was cold, dry, and bland. For the price, they really need to do a lot better. If you do not believe me, I recommend trying Lockhart's BBQ. To the owner, I would honestly consider hiring a chef. Fast food is better compared to the quality of food I received. I could buy cheap Brisket and Sasuage and make what I ate today anyday. Please do not waste your hard earned money.

Great Texas Bar BQ they originated with the first market in Elgin Tx. This one in Bastrop same just little nicer building. This is classic Texas style meat, beans fixins. If you go eat meat lots of meat. The only thing they need to work on is the potato salad to dry Jalapeno Sausage rolls can be dry also. 7/18/25 upgraded my review. The peach cobbler is good, but the blackberry is better. The dinosaur rib was great flavor and moist with fat. Brisket was a little dry but good flavor.

We’ve been to this location several times and always had a great experience. But today, I wanted to give an extra shout out to Adrian. We were greeted as soon as we entered the building with a smiling face, welcoming us inside. During our dining experience, I witnessed him being so attentive in ensuring everything was clean, but also ensuring that he acknowledges the guest and greets them with a smile. He never stopped being productive. This was my first time seeing him working here, so wanted to make sure that I left a review to give him kudos. Great job Adrian!!

Barbecue restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Bastrop, Billy's Pit BBQ has been a beloved local gem for an impressive 37 years. This charming establishment is renowned for its authentic slow-cooked barbecue that draws in both country music stars and locals alike. Diners rave about the mouthwatering smoked meats, particularly the brisket, which is celebrated for its incredible tenderness and rich flavor profile—truly a melt-in-your-mouth experience!
Great stop in Bastrop for family run (since 1982) Q! Healthy portions, great flashers and small town friendly service and vibe. Brisket tender with nice bark; pork ribs perfectly tender fall-off-the-bone without being mushy; house-made sausage is excellent (better’n any in Elgin!). Nice mustardy potato salad and well-seasoned pintos! Very reasonable prices! Great to sit and enjoy, plus eavesdrop on local news and going’s on.
SouTex T — Google review
I ordered the two meat plate and the sausage was very good but the brisket…it was truly phenomenal. It was moist, melt in your mouth moist, with charred crispy top and so much flavor! It is hard to find brisket with real flavor. I have lived in Texas my whole life and have had my share of brisket and this was honestly the best I have had. Small family establishment with old country music on the radio. LOVED IT! Brought me back to when I was a kid. Will stop again when passing through.

Great, friendly and Clean place!!! The stuffed potato is well worth the price! You can ask for fatty brisket and lean briskted is listed. Restrooms are clean and generous in size. A nice calm place to enjoy!!

Small and cozy place to grab lunch. I had the meaty baked potato and it was very filling and delicious. My son had the 2 meat plate with chicken, brisket and mac n cheese. His favorite was the brisket but still enjoyed all of it.
Melanie R — Google review
Billy’s is a local barbecue place, nothing fancy, but good meats. The sides were average, and I wish that the chopped beef was a little bit less salty. The barbecue sauces were good and this is a place frequent by locals, as just about everybody inside, seem to know each other.
Steve T — Google review
I give it 5 stars but it should be less. For r years it was better than any other place in town and still is from time to time. They need to get back to what it was. Last couple of years it has been hit or miss. Service has always been spot on. The food has been the problem. The sausage used to be world class. Moist and flavorful with a firm and slightly crisp casing. Lately it has been oily and dry. Instead of leaving it whole the cut it and it begins to dry out. Resting in oil in pans on steam table. Brisket is the same way. Too much grease and oil. Billy's, please get back to your usual excellence.
Happy F — Google review
I really wanted to like Billy’s Pit BBQ in Bastrop, but my first visit will also be my last. I ordered brisket, sausage, beans, and coleslaw, and unfortunately the only thing that stood out in a positive way was the coleslaw. Brisket – Lacked flavor, had an unpleasant smoke taste, and was overcooked. Sausage – Dry, bland, and way overcooked. Beans – Very plain; nothing more than basic beans. Coleslaw – Fresh, slightly sweet, and honestly the best thing on my plate. I’m not trying to be overly critical, just honest. For me, this was a very disappointing BBQ experience.

Welcoming coffee house with baked goods, a food menu, and friendly staff. They have several tables and booths, a tiny shop, and a large free parking lot they share with adjoining businesses. It's located in a shopping center just west of downtown between it and the freeway.

Visited on a weekday after the lunch rush. It wasn’t that busy (maybe 2 people ahead of us). I was excited about trying out a local coffee roaster but the excitement went downhill pretty quickly. It took about 3-5 minutes to order while we waited for someone. And then after we ordered, there was a good 5 minutes of absolutely no one doing anything coffee-related . The employees were either in the back or at the register. There was a lady in front of us who ordered but didn’t even get her food until after we left! It was a poorly run coffee house with potential. The coffee was average. I won’t be coming back.

coffee dog is a solid little coffee shop in bastrop that has a convenient drive through. i have always had nice experiences when i have come. staff is friendly, the food is good with generous portions. i think my only critique is the atmosphere can be a little frantic with a lot of noise.
Charles W — Google review
The service here needs improvement. My overall experience was unpleasant and disappointing. The screenshot I attached to this review shows another review that is interaction between a customer and the owner of this business. I think the owners response to the review should tell you all you need to know about this place. I visited last week with my wife. We did not feel welcomed, it was pretty slow, 1 person ahead of us and for some reason it took us 15 minutes to get 2 coffee’s (medium latte, large cold brew) There were 3 employees. 2 at the counter and 1 at the window. I’ve worked in several service industry positions. Including a coffee shops and the service we got at this place is unacceptable. I just politely ask to consider this feedback and take a look at how y’all could be doing things better. The coffee was great. I would choose this place over Starbucks. But I will not be returning here anytime soon. I just hope nobody has the unfriendly and poor service my wife and I received. I sincerely hope there is improvement in how this business operates.

Great prices, but you get what you pay for. Cons: Ordered a burrito, they were out of egg & sausage, didn’t even bother rolling it up. Ordered to a kolache, those were discontinued (but still on the menu). Long wait & the staff seemed irritated we were there. Pros: Cheap Chai was good Coffee was hot

I really wanted to love this coffee shop. The atmosphere is definitely five stars and it’s a nice place to sit and chat. The design and decorations of the place are really done well. The coffee wasn’t very good and I got a salad where part of it was rotten. I mentioned it to the staff to let them know not to serve that ingredient and wasn’t offered anything to replace it. It’s still a great place to go, meet someone or get some work done but don’t expect much from the food or coffee. This is based on one meal so maybe they had an off day.

Distillery
Food & Drink
Copper Shot Distillery is an ideal spot for group gatherings, offering a weekend filled with laughter, cherished moments, delightful beverages, and tobacco products. The owner, Stephen, provides an exclusive tour of the distillery along with a historical account of the establishment. While enjoying their intricately crafted cocktails like the old fashioned and The Godfather, patrons are particularly captivated by the delectable pecan shine in the latter. Additionally, visitors can revel in live performances by talented bands during nighttime.
Whiskey. Cigar Lounge. Live Music. Spent an afternoon strolling Bastrop’s Main St. Great bookstore, amazing restaurant, and local shops. The Copper Shot was the cherry on top. Staff were more than friendly and knowledgeable in their respective crafts of spirits and cigars. Started off with a memorable Texas Honey Whiskey Old Fashion while lounging on rocking chairs in the patio. Then moved on into the cigar lounge area (indoor and outdoor) where the bartenders paired a tasty whiskey concoction with the perfect cigar. There’s great live music that can be enjoyed from the cigar lounge and the Copper Shot patio. Shout out to Bill. His professionalism and hospitality added to an already enjoyable and excellent experience.

Elaborately decorated bar serving cocktails and shots built around the distillery's line of liquors, including whiskey, room, vodka, and moonshine. The great bartender was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a flight of flavored juices with moonshine and entertained ourselves with the wood and metal puzzles at the bar. Next we tried some of their wonderful cocktails, including a honey mule and frozen blackberry margarita. They also seek full bottles of their liquors. They have several tables inside and a covered patio out back with more tables and chairs.

William B — Google review
Copper Shot Distillery is one of the most unique and inviting bars in Bastrop, located just east of Austin. Among its many standout features is the customizable Bloody Mary bar, where guests can enhance their cocktails with a wide array of garnishes—ranging from pickled vegetables to olives and an impressive lineup of hot sauces. Although the Bloody Mary isn’t always listed on the printed menu, ask for their “Bastrop Bloody”—a house-made cocktail crafted with their signature Sweet Potato Shine, Zing Zang® mix, Worcestershire, and a special garlic kick. Once you order, you’re free to personalize it using the garnish station tucked in the corner. Beyond cocktails, Copper Shot also distills a range of flavored whiskeys using a fusion process—where ingredients like fruit, herbs, or spices are soaked directly in the finished spirit to infuse flavor. This method contrasts with adding ingredients during fermentation or distillation, which is generally discouraged—especially with delicate fruits like strawberries. The high heat of distillation destroys subtle berry aromas, and strawberries introduce wild yeasts and excess sugar that complicate the process. Instead, post-distillation infusion is the preferred technique. Two common methods are: Maceration: Slice fresh strawberries and soak them in whiskey for several days in a sealed jar, then strain. Sweetened infusion: Add a bit of simple syrup to round out the flavor and reduce tartness. Copper Shot Distillery embraces this approach, offering bold and nuanced flavors in a relaxed, rustic setting.

I received fantastic service and absolutely delicious cocktails. The Bloody Mary was to die for! I tried a variety of different liquors. Also if you bring empty bottles back in they'll give you $10 off on refills. The distillery itself is gorgeous. Spacious with rustic views. Also the humidor area had a HUGE selection of cigars and other tobacco products. This is my new home away from home. I love this place and can't wait to come back!

Really cool bar. I'm not 21 so I can't confirm how good the drinks are however I did try the hot chocolate and it is very good. Tasted like real chocolate. I came here to see my friends concert and it's a great venue for listening to music. They have an open patio and some seats to sit outside. Nice stylized bar that seems like something from an old west town. Would come back especially for another concert

An Absolute Must-Visit if you're in Bastrop! Copper Shot is a charming little distillery on the edge of downtown serving moonshine, vodka and whiskey- as well as mixed drinks. We live in Dallas but checked this place out on one of our planning trips for our wedding and absolutely loved it. I had a few mixed drinks and a flight of moonshine. They even have a cigar area and live music on the weekends! Our first time here, we loved meeting the owner and just chatting with other guests on the patio. Fast forward a year to our wedding weekend: I wanted to make sure our guests checked this place out, but it wasn't big enough for any of the formal events (our rehearsal dinner was 70 people, for reference). I made the impromptu decision on Thursday to tell anyone who was in town to meet at Copper Shot around 4:30 Friday for a drink before rehearsal dinner. It was absolutely perfect. Our friends and families mingled, tried new drinks, and enjoyed the setting. Several folks signed the tables to remember our wedding weekend. I had a few whiskey-amaretto sours, which were delicious. Everyone commented on what a cool place it was, and plenty more of our guests checked it out on their own time. The only drawback is that, typical of a small town, they close early. If you want to party until 2am, you'll have to move locations. My husband and I just fell in love with this town during the planning, and even more so during the week of our wedding. I can't imagine coming back to Bastrop without stopping at Copper Shot.

I have visited Stem & Stone Craft Beer, Wine & Eats multiple times and have consistently had a great time. It is one of the few places in Bastrop where you can find an excellent burger. The servers have always been wonderful, and Stephanie has been particularly welcoming on each visit. Their fry sauce is delicious and reminiscent of an oriental thousand island sauce. I highly recommend stopping by for a date night or meal out.
First off: Veteran Parking. Thank you! Second, the burgers are amazing! Going to be a 'must stop' on all my trips between Houston and Austin now!

Fries were perfectly cooked, but unseasoned. The 1836 burger was burdened with dense, dry, flavorless pulled pork. I only ate about half of the burger, and I came hungry. None of the flavors in the menu description were detected in this meal. Nice decor and great service. I really wanted to love this place, but I won't be back. No excuse for serving a dry, bland burger. I can do better than that at home or even at Chili's.
Darin D — Google review
Its always an amazing experience at Stem & Stone! We were hosted there for a private event and the coordination between the host and the service staff was awesome. The food was fantastic and perfectly complementary to the wine parings. Great people, great food, great service and a pretty darn good selection of draft beer too!

We ordered a fried pickles, burger & fries and honey mustard chicken sandwich. All delicious, esp the chicken sandwich! House ranch is my fave & they do it right. Casual, Texas themed place with attentive staff. Highly recommended if you’re in or passing through the area, it’s right off the highway!

Great lunch when driving through town. Friendly atmosphere and attentive service! A drink menu would be great to have - you can see the taps and tap list and then some non-beer options are written on the blackboard behind the bar but no descriptions or prices given.

Went for lunch. I enjoyed my 1836 burger. Bthe grilled cheese was a little too basic. Enjoyed the pear cider. Wish the menu would be more expansive. They had a good selection of drafts and a bigger selection of wine.
Gabriela C — Google review
What a lovely establishment!!! Thierry staff is so friendly and very helpful. Their food is outstanding! They are located across the street from Film Alley so it would make the perfect date night (Dinner then a Show.) My one complaint is that I didn't come sooner.
Jerrica S — Google review
You're better than this S&S. Really, this is a $16.00 burger (ordered with extra cheese)?? The meat patty isnt even a quarter of an actual inch. Look at the wilted lettuce they put on it. Wow, I thought you liked serving the people of Bastrop. For something twice as fresh and twice the burger try literally any place but here. I ordered pickup and called when I got there, they said they just finished the order. Then I waited 5 minutes in the parking lot and decided to go inside, yep - order was just sitting behind the bar. What's happened to this place?

Yoli's Tacos & More Catering is a beloved culinary gem that began its journey in 2014 when Yoli De Leon and her husband Mario launched a food truck, driven by Yoli's passion for cooking. Fast forward nearly ten years, and this vibrant spot has become synonymous with delicious breakfast and lunch tacos in Bastrop. Although Yoli passed away in 2020, her spirit lives on through her family, who continue to serve up mouthwatering dishes that honor her legacy.
Seriously the best I've had in a while. I am Hispanic in origin and I know what authentic cooking tastes like and this is it. Homemade tortillas and hand cut potatoes for my delicious breakfast taco of bean potato bacon. Look for the flaming Taco Truck! I will definitely return!

I have dismissed this place just driving through town plenty of times and, boy was I an idiot. We had the Crazy King Fries and they were phenomenal. Waffle fries with brisket, Pico de Gallo and a bunch of other condiments, hot sauces (on the side) and these were better than nachos. By far the best brisket in town. Lovely staff, delicious food, and it has really good vibe. A must see for bastrop locals.
Hannah J — Google review
Our go to spot for breakfast tacos, lunch burritos and BBQ! No joke, it’s our favorite BBQ in town. Hands down! Also, our favorite home-made flour tortillas. Delicious every time. Big tacos (banana for scale) 🤗
Sarah R — Google review
Absolutely wonderful food! Usually get the breakfast tacos which are always very very good! Today I had the Friday special el pastor tacos and 3 nice sized tacos with side of rice for barley over 5 bucks! Not many places you can get a meal for 5 bucks. Everything is always so good here. Definitely recommend
Mike G — Google review
Every bite of these tacos was consistent in flavor, texture, quality, & taste. The tortillas were freshly made & sturdy enough to hold all of the perfectly portioned fillings. I got a potato-egg-cheese & a bean-egg-cheese breakfast taco & slathered them both with the green salsa (mild, fresh, tasty, liquidy) and half of the red salsa (spicy, delayed heat, thick) for a bit of a kick to get my day started! I got an icy cold water bottle, too, which I grabbed from a giant cooler filled with a bunch of bottles of soft drinks. It quenched my thirst & I was on my way!
Morgan M — Google review
I ordered two tacos. Ground beef was not fully cooked. The other taco was not what I ordered. It wound up being very tough to chew fajita meat. That was after I had repeated my order three times. Language barrier! Apparently the business was recently sold. Unfortunately! I do not see the new owner staying in business very long !

Bastrop Beer Company in Bastrop, Texas is a beloved spot for beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers. The bar offers an extensive selection of over 100 craft beers, making it a top destination for those looking to sample various brews. While the establishment doesn't have a full kitchen, they do offer large pretzels and free popcorn to accompany your drinks. Additionally, visitors can enjoy arcade games, pool tables, darts, corn hole, and trivia on TV.
Fantastic place to sample innumerable beers! They have a ton of beers on tap as well as an insane number in cans/bottles. While they don't have a full kitchen on location, they do offer large pretzels to purchase and free popcorn! If you want to do more than sip beer, they also have plenty of arcade games, pool tables, darts, corn hole, and trivia on TV. Of course, if none of that interests you, they also have some amazing staff to visit with (We spent a good amount of time on our visit speaking with Josh, who you should definitely visit with and get his life story!). Will definitely be going back and closing it down next time we visit Bastrop!

Great local bar. Love how friendly everyone usually is here. Great that you can bring your own food if you want. They host bingo and other community activities sometimes. Also kid friendly. Laid back place.

New place that just sells beer, lots and lots of different kinds of beer. The atmosphere is nice, cool signs, old pinball machines and guitars on the wall you can take down and play. The leather couches and chairs and GREAT air conditioning make this a nice spot on a hot day. If you are looking for food, this place has NO kitchen, so don't get mad.

One of the best places in town. Incredible selection of premium and common beers. From Miller Lite to big complex stouts, has a beer for everyone. Come as you are and be helped by the wonderful Julianna and Adrianna.

Can't rate the food because we didn't eat... the beer selection was off the rails... every imaginable kind/brand/flavor/type of beer you've ever heard of or thought of - they have it...pinball, video arcade, 2 nice looking pool tables...
Jack J — Google review
This is a very chill and laid back bar. They have a great selection of beer and wine. I suggest asking to sample their different beers to see which one is your favorite. They also have sake and champagne cocktails. There is a case full of canned beer and other drinks that you can take on the go and walk around downtown.

Huge selection of different beers and great atmosphere. Their decor is pretty neat. They have bingo, trivia night and old pinball machines. The bartender told me you can bring outside food and they are pet friendly. Can't wait to go back.

The cozy ambiance adds to the charm as you savor their freshly baked creations and enjoy delicious breakfast sandwiches and lunch offerings. Visitors praise the amazing food and service, recommending it for those seeking home-cooked meals with a southern comfort twist.
It's one of the best restaurants I've tried in Bastrop. Loved the outdoor seating, the women at the counter was very friendly, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the brunch menu. The spiced pumpkin bread was the best I've had. Biscuits and gravy are a must, it has a really nice spice. The croissants are light and so good. The pretzels are also super light, try both the cinnamon sugar and salted, you won't regret it. My stomach is growling while writing this review. Only one con-No ice machine or fresh drinks, everything is bottled. They do have water available, which is nice.

This place is extremely cute delicious clean and country. The baked goods looked amazing we ate breakfast. The biscuits were soft and a nice crunch on the crust with a butter flavor and were quality. The eggs were creamy soft buttery and perfect. The sausage gravy had tons of sausage pepper flavor that made me crave more! Will be back ASAP!!! Also the breakfast potatoes were seasoned well soft inside nice roasted crunch outside. The air conditioning was perfect for a hot Sunday! Coffee good and strong as well. Thank you!

Had a biscuit platter with hot, glossy scrambled eggs, two giant biscuits, sausage gravy, fresh tomato and bacon. There was also butter and cinnamon jam for the biscuits. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to biscuits and gravy. Too many places have bland gravy, but not these guys! I'll be back for sure.

We walked in this place and was kind of thinking it was JUST a bakery... I was wrong it has amazing sandwiches, and more. Their pimento grilled cheese with bacon was outstanding! Chicken salad sandwich was to die for..... Iced coffee cookies everything here was on point super friendly staff, space is clean rustic, perfect for Texas... The best part is how incredibly friendly everybody is. I watched at least four couples and between 5 and 10 singles walk in and out and every single one left with a smile or laughing... Prices are amazing, The owners were amazing and checked in on us...if you can stop here, you should. The chicken biscuits are to die for!

Simply amazing. They’re a ghost kitchen right now, but if you can, I highly recommend stopping by the community area and ordering your breakfast on their website. For 2/3 people, we had our order out in 15-20 minutes, and it continues to be the best breakfast I’ve ever had in the Austin area!!! The sausage bacon gravy and biscuits are to die for, the ham they use is to die for (and I hate ham, by the way), and their cookies!!! These folks are doing it, and they’re doing it right!! Give them your business!!! I’m updating my review 2024!!! They’ve moved to a brick and mortar place in Bastrop but the food is ever so good!!! The ham and cheese croissant is exactly the same, and the hot honey fried chicken thigh sandwich is to die for!!! You guys definitely need to get out there and give these guys your business!!!

Oh man this place is amazing! Coming into the historic downtown Bastrop is always a treat! The Bearded baker was hard at work in the back and the exquisite tastes coming out was a testament to just how much love and care goes into the food. I tried them in Austin and I was kicking myself when I heard they moved. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across them in their new, totally renovated downtown home! The atmosphere was great, but after I tasted the food it could have been a shack for all I cared! One word DELICIOUS! It's awesome to watch a business grow and there's no doubt with food, salads, snacks, cookies, cakes, this good... this bearded bakery is going to grow far! Also, I love their new back patio!

Carolina Smash Burger - Excellent - nice amount of seasoning in the real beef patty. I love slaw on a nice “hamburguesa”. Edit 05 Oct 2021. Had the Old Glory Smash Burger today and it was excellent. Really good; the meat was perfectly seasoned. Pearls Taters - Excellent - I like the sweet dipping sauce and the crust on the potato wedges Loved the Golden Girls styled cheesecakes esp the “Aunt Sophia” with dark chocolate sprinkles The “Grackle” is my favorite of their all delicious cookie types Always check what is “available” on the site. There was a pop up salad not normally listed with quinoa which I only tolerate but the greens, vinaigrette, and seeds added really made it excellent. I was able to add the chicken-fried bacon crumbles to it. I enjoyed the Carolina slaw dog the Taylor frank was a good size and has a nice snap and color. I still prefer the Vienna Beef ones though this was a good dog. I have my eye on those brunch offerings next like the omelette sammich “Studly Farmer” and the cat head biscuits.

Base Camp Deli is a sandwich shop that takes their creations to the next level with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and creativity. Customers are encouraged to trust the deli's own sandwich combinations, which are known for their decadent and unique flavors. The made-to-order brisket sandwich with options like French jus dip or cheese is a standout choice. Another masterpiece from the deli is the Cubano, praised for its extraordinary and powerful flavors.
They’ve done it again. I love this sandwich shop and already reviewed once. But then they created another amazing masterpiece, the Cubano. I sit here eating it feeling obligated to say how good it is. It’s so unique. The flavors are extraordinary and powerful. I normally want to substitute items on or off my sandwiches from most places but this place nails it every time. I just eat whatever they give me, like homemade pickles?! I’m not even sure these are pickles…they taste like Christmas in my mouth. Best sandwich shop in the Central Texas area.

I had the Italian sandwich and soup special (sausage, white bean and kale) which was Delicious. The perfect balance of meat, veggies and herb mayo. The bread is delicious and sourced locally. I never knew I would like olives until I had it in this sandwich. The owners are fairly new to town and are wonderful people who are very friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, there is a nice outdoor area as well.

We had been working all day at a farmers market in Giddings and made it just at the cutoff time to Base Camp Deli on our way back home. We were treated with smiles from Clara and the option to have a made-to-order brisket sandwich either with a French jus dip or cheese. Also ordered a refreshing cucumber mint tea that I sipped while waiting for the order. We got one of each and it did not disappoint. I had the one with the French jus dip: tidy but decadent. Bread was toasted perfectly and the flavor bursted. They put a lot of care into their creation and you can taste it. Definitely check out this hidden gem.

Let me get to the point. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and was thinking it was probably a bad idea because chicken breast tends to be dry compared to other parts right. Not here buddy, that chicken was so moist, juicy and flavorful I couldn't believe it. I came back the next day and had to run it back. Probably the best chicken pesto sammy that I've ever had. Decent size, I was full and satisfied. I also had the Italian salad, it was good but the sandwich was the show stopper.

Awesome little spot tucked away right off the main highway into town. Staff was extremely friendly and helped us choose what to order, even though we showed up right before closing. Sandwiches were excellent, really hearty and plenty of meat. Would highly recommend!

As a small business owner on Main Street in Bastrop, I was delighted when Base Camp Deli opened. I eat there at least once a week. Their salads are always so fresh, and the homemade salad dressing is amazing. But be forewarned: if you get a regular sized salad, it's a LOT of food. My favorite is the Garden Salad with added Turkey - I can get 2 - 3 meals out of it, but a half salad is still plenty! As for sandwiches, I've had the Lippy (roast beef and horseradish sauce) and it is excellent. Most recently, I tried their Chicken Salad Sandwich and if you can fall in love with food, that's what happened. It's the most delicious chicken salad on the planet as far as I'm concerned (as long as you like pecans and celery in it, which I most assuredly do). As with the salads, the sandwiches are a generous size, so plan to share, save some for later, or bring a huge appetite. The owners are great folks as well, and I enjoy visiting with them when time permits. You know they're good because they are always busy!

Visited downtown Bastrop on April 12. We stopped for lunch at Base Camp Deli and I got the Turkey Reuben and my wife got the Turkey Havarti. Her Turkey Havarti sandwich was awesome but my Turkey Reuben was terrible. We sampled each other's sandwiches and we both agreed. Worth mentioning were the really tasty thick cut kettle cooked Deep River potato chips. The people were friendly and the service was good.

I went here for the first time today and it was wonderful! The food was so good! And the venue and outside seating is quaint and perfect. I had the Chicken Pesto Panini...it was SO YUMMY. My mother had the Turkey Havarti and she loved it! We ordered The Lippy to go and they brought it out to us as we were finishing eating our food. The man who ate this sandwich gobbled it up. The staff (owner?) was friendly, everything was great! Definitely will be back! :)

Visitors rave about the succulent brisket, savory ribs, and super moist turkey that just melts in your mouth. The sides like street corn and house-made pickles are also highly praised.
Amazing bbq! Probably the best I’ve had. The brisket was cooked perfectly and the RIBS! We got mac n cheese, red beans, potato salad, and coleslaw. They were all so good. The staff were all cool and the restaurant it’s self is chill. We will definitely be back!

This place is FIRE!!! I’ve been in search of great Texas BBQ since I moved here, it’s been a long search but I found it at Steadfast Barbecue! (Before y’all think in lying I did have Franklins in Austin and I was tryna match that initial experiece, and this spot definitely did it. And if you still don’t believe me, try it yourself!) The brisket was moist, succulent, with a perfectly crisp crust from the bark that was well seasoned. And if you need an extra kick or something to brighten up all the great bbq you’ll be scarfing down, the in-house BBQ sauce had a great kick of acidity, adding balance and another depth of flavor to an already great piece of Brisket. My only gripe is that I did not order MORE! Guess I will have to come back!

Was super excited to hear a new BBQ joint was moving in to this spot, stopped by today whilst they’re doing something of a soft launch and was not disappointed! Whataburger, a fast-food chain from around 1950, is known for its counter-serve burgers, some of which are stacked with multiple patties. Customers often complain about the long lines and suggest that extra lanes are needed to improve efficiency. However, the pick-up process is relatively quick and the food quality is accurate and good. There seems to be a need for corporate intervention in order to support employees with more efficient drive-through systems through additional lanes and staff members.
Matthew was an absolute breath of fresh air with how quick, efficient and just overall respectful he was 🙏

I came in and ordered 2 fajita tacos but when I went home to eat them they lacked a significant amount of what is advertised on the taco. I basically paid over $14 dollars for chicken and a tortilla. I called and spoke to a manager and was told that the peppers and onions are portioned out after I had told her they barely had anything on them. She stated next time I come in and get them they will add more peppers and onions. I had gone to the elgin location and they were more than willing to help me eventhough, it was not their issue to begin with. Yes I would of liked them to offer to replace the tacos next time i visit because $14 dollars is an insane amount to begin with to not get what is advertised or even close to it. The manager just kept saying we portion out the amounts without any resolution.

So I just got a burger from there and it was wet? The whole top bun was wet? Final straw with that one. Normally, when I take my kid in there, there’s a bunch of 17 and 18 year-old children trying to be cool by cussing loudly and using racial slurs. So my son and I stopped going inside to eat. Now we’re getting wet burgers, so I think that was our last trip to Whataburger. Thanks for ruining a core memory for me growing up.

4:01 pm/ Rosy V was at the drive thru. What an awful person to put in the drive thru. I felt like I was trying to sell HER some stuff. It was an unhappy person. No hello, no can I help you, no hello…. Just “what do you need”…. Got to the window and that was no friendlier. No smile, no thank you, no have a nice day.. just took my card and handed it back with a miserable look on her face. Food was good as usual but holy cow. Whoever put ole Rosy V at the drive thru should have their head examined. Awful customer service.
Prepper A — Google review
Waited in the drive thru for a good 25 minutes for a meal and kids meal, which was frustrating. Kennedy (I think that was her name, but probably way off) was very apologetic and sweet, bless her heart. She made up for it with a sweet treat, even though I know it wasn’t her fault. It was the thought that counted.
Lexi Z — Google review
I have had many order issues with this establishment, but tonight was my last straw. To begin with the drive thru attendant was incredibly rude and unprofessional, continuously cutting me off mid order with a rude tone and attempting to end the order immediately after choosing a meal despite the order not being done nor given a sign it was, furthermore although I took my due diligence double checking the order with the attendant I still managed to receive a wrong order, being given root beer and not the Dr.pepper I ordered and PAYED for, if you're considering going to this establishment I would hold my horse till you arrive in Austin.

I was thinking this would be like any other whataburger off the block, but the employee named Brendan was such a great help that he truly made my visit a great one. Taco Cabana is a vibrant chain eatery that brings the essence of classic Mexican cuisine to life with its colorful decor and lively atmosphere. Known for its freshly made salsa and tortillas, this spot offers a delightful menu featuring items like cheesy quesadillas filled with melted Jack and Cheddar cheeses, served alongside savory Mexican rice infused with poblano peppers and spices. Very taco, never had the chicken fajita bacon melt. And I was very pleasantly surprised on how gooood it was. A d had that new peach refresher. It was sooooo good that it left me wanting more.

This is my last time ordering from here. Every time I get my food the meat is burnt and dried up. Like it's been sitting there for too long in a warmer.
Toria J — Google review
It is your typical Taco Cabana experience. Sometimes the service is great and other times, well. But the food is consistent. Whether dining in or doing the drive through you will get heaping generous tasty portions.
Ken P — Google review
Someone please report this place to the health, inspectors, order three steak fajita tacos, and what I received was disgusting. In each taco, there were slices of steak fajita that were great however, in each taco, there were slices of meat that looked weeks old dried out and tasted like you were eating and chewing on beef jerky, but I brought this up to them. The cashier originally said that it was fresh and it just looked like that when I opened it up, took the meat out showed it to her try to break it in half which I couldn’t do cause it was hard. She said well there is my GM you can talk to him. The GM‘s response was they ran low on their stake so it’s a blend of a different kind of steak which in my opinion is a lie to cover up the fact that they’re using old meat mixed in with fresh meat.
Christopher L — Google review
The chicken tacos were really good, beef taco was OK, queso was horrible. The chicken tacos were tasty and well filled. The queso was chunky, not sure why, so I didn't eat it. All the tables in the lobby look dirty and needed to be wiped down.
Lindsey M — Google review
The food was good, could have been crisper. It felt like the tortillas weren't grilled enough, imo. But they were really polite and fast, we were in a hurry so we appreciated it!
Makayla K — Google review
The margaritas are the best thing about this place. The food is mediocre at best, but having to wait 37 minutes in the drive thru when only 2 cars are ahead of you is ridiculous. And to add insult to injury, I only ordered margaritas and an order of churros and 37 minutes later, I get to the window and my order still isn't ready. Definitely don't come here if you're in a hurry.
Carmen Y — Google review
The worst experience every time i go here i am vastly disappointed if you get carne asada taco it's only gravy no meat, if you get bean and cheese there's almost no cheese in the little bit of cheese that's on there is stuck to the foil no one cares enough about their quality of work to actually close the tortilla. The fajita tacos let my wife got had nothing on it. In the tortillas are quite often in the shape of spilled milk so when you roll them up it's a funky shape that can't even hold the gravy they put inside. If you get an egg and bacon taco you're lucky if they remember to put the bacon in.

Chick-fil-A is a beloved fast-food chain renowned for its delicious chicken sandwiches and nuggets, complemented by a variety of salads and sides. Beyond the tasty menu, what truly sets Chick-fil-A apart is its exceptional service. Many patrons have shared heartwarming experiences with staff members like Madie and Michael G., who go above and beyond to ensure customers feel valued.
Chick-fil-A has got service & speed down to an art! Whether I'm coming through the drive-through & dining in, the wait is surprisingly short regardless of how many people are ordering or waiting for food. Well done! My go-to is a Kale Crunch Salad w/an order of Naked Nuggets if Im not ordering a Spucy Chicken Sandwich! And don't pass on the Peach Shake ... you'll need a spoon for the juicy chunks of peaches blended in!

I told the drive thru attendant that l wanted two spicy deluxe meals one with coby cheese and one with pepper jack. Only lettuce,no tomatoes or pickles. She had an attitude and I had to repeat my order twice to make sure it was right. When I got to the window my order was incorrect. I was given regular spicy sandwiches with just pickles and cheese. After telling them to fix the order they had to go "verify" before fixing my order. While waiting for the sandwiches to be fixed I wanted to snack on fries but they were super salty. I look at the fries and they were dark. Like the had been refried and salted again. I tried dusting off the salt and it was still too salty. When they came back with the remade sandwiches they still had tomatoes. -_- Before they left I asked if I could get new fries and then supervisor/manager came out. She asked how she could help and I asked her if she could replace my fries. She said "Well I could but it would just be replaced with the same fries. All of our fries are salted together" I told her "well can't you make new fries without salt" (I already know this is an option) She said "Well yes but that will take 6 minutes and don't know if you want to wait" I was getting frustrated with her tone and the service. I told her not worry about it and went on my way. We just threw away the fries and removed the tomatoes. This is not Chick-fil-A service I am used to and having to argue about just getting an order correct and having quality food was super disappointing. Would not recommend coming to this location.

Always a great experience whether dining in or drive through. Ordering on app is a quick and easy way to navigate the drive through. Great staff and service. Make sure you guage the time of day that you will go by. If you can stay away from peak hours you will not have to wait on the street to try to get into the parking lot. And be prepared for a crowded parking lot.

I went through the drive thru and, the car in-front of me was talking to the worker taking order for 15 minutes. Once I finally got my order taken I asked for Chick-fil-A sauce, and then I waited another 10 minutes for my order to be taken to my car because all of the employees were just standing around. I looked in the bag and there were 0 sauces and I had already driven off, this is the worst service I’ve ever had at Chick-fil-A.

We showed up during the lunch run so it was busy as expected. They did a good job taking care of customers though the diner area is somewhat limited seating. I understand most take it to go and the gradual shift it seems now. Good was great.

Phenomenal service. I called the store during lunch rushing 9/23 to ask to edit an item from a DoorDash item and team member Ryan went out of his way to make it happen. One of the best CFAs there is!

I AM DISTRAUGHT. I have run into not ONE, not TWO, BUT THREE EMPLOYEES that have NOT gone through the adequate training required to be pleasurable enough for this job. I came in with three fabulous friends, and ALL of us have given MULTIPLE chances for these THREE employees to respond with the infamous “my pleasure”. IS IT NOT THEIR PLEASURE TO SERVE ME????? HOW DARE THEY??? WE DESERVE THE UTMOST CARE AND CONCERN WHILE WE ARE DINING IN THIS GLOOM-RIDDEN ESTABLISHMENT. And that’s the VERY LEAST you could do. Will not be back. (except maybe for the nuggets).

I want to take a moment to share how impressed I am with the service I consistently receive at Chick-fil-A, specifically because of Madie. Every time my family and I come in, she is attentive, thoughtful, and goes out of her way to make sure we have everything we need. She doesn’t just do her job she makes us feel genuinely cared for. Madie always takes the time to check in with us, making sure my kids are happy and comfortable. It’s clear she pays attention to detail and takes pride in her work. What stands out most is how she goes above and beyond in ways that make a lasting impression. Today was an especially memorable experience. When I mentioned to Madie that it was my daughter’s birthday, she immediately lit up and made the moment so special. She sang “Happy Birthday” to her with such kindness, gifted her a small toy cow, and even treated her to an ice cream. It wasn’t just the gestures themselves, but the genuine joy and care she put into them that made the experience so meaningful for us. On top of all of this, she still made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal, never missing a detail. Employees like Madie represent the heart of what excellent customer service should be not only attentive and professional, but also caring and personal. She made what could have been just another meal into a memory my daughter will cherish. Chick-fil-A is lucky to have her, and because of her, we’ll continue to look forward to coming back.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is a vibrant fast-food chain that brings the flavors of Louisiana to your plate, specializing in crispy fried chicken, delectable chicken sandwiches, and perfectly seasoned fries. My experiences at this location have been consistently positive; although I only utilized the drive-thru service, the food appeared fresh and tasted delightful on each visit. The staff was friendly and genuine during my interactions. However, there was a slight hiccup with my order as it seemed they were short on chicken at that moment.
I’ve had food from this location 3 times. Only Drive thru so I can’t say about cleanliness for dine in. Food looked and tasted fresh all 3 times. Customer service was polite and genuine all 3 times.

I ordered 2 orders of 5 blacken tenders combo, with smash potatoes w gravy. First I was waiting at the drive thru for 10 minutes because they forgot our other 5 piece, 2nd I get home, they only give me GRAVY + no biscuit with my combo or straws. I’m not able to get a hold with the store but I would like to get a refund since I paid $30 for basically nothing.
Elisia V — Google review
I had to take some time to think about whether I wanted to write this. I wanted to excuse it even though the entire situation really confused me. When I walked into Popeyes, I asked for 3 spicy drumsticks. Is that a term not used any more? Why was it emphasized in such a rude tone that I didn’t want a combo? I understand that combos make more money, but I don’t understand why that would disappoint her to the extent that it did that I didn’t want a combo. Then, after I ordered, they said they didn’t have any spicy drumsticks left, so I asked for a refund. She wanted to force me to keep what she wanted me to eat. I got frustrated since I did not understand why I couldn’t get a refund for the food I didn’t want. Then, the guy in a different colored shirt, so I’m assuming manager/team lead, said that there was and that it would just take over 10 mins to heat up. I don’t eat fried food super often, so I waited for about 20 minutes to be told several times when I was getting my order that it was spicy. Am I mistaken that this chicken wasn’t spicy? I read they were supposed to have a kick, their spicy chicken sandwich is pretty spicy. Am I mistaken to expect the spicy chicken leg to be spicy too? (They typed it wrong on my receipt.) I took a while to post this since I can understand needing to work and how frustrating it can be to serve others; however, blatantly lying and teaming up to lie seems a bit overboard. There were 3 people who emphasized that it was spicy. The lady to took my order, the manager/lead, and another lady who handed me the food. Attached is a picture of what I got.
Jean H — Google review
Love Popeyes, but the Bastrop location always let's us down. We try about every 6 months, but still disappointed. The containers were not full. You would think after spending $55, you would have better quality food. The red beans and rice was mostly liquid and rice, very little beans. Biscuits were hard and dense like a hockey puck. No amount of butter or honey could soften them. Chicken was dry.
Pamela G — Google review
Despite having plenty of bad reviews, it wasn't too bad. I ordered a spicy 3 piece meal, and 2 out of the 3 pieces were actually spicy. Disappointed that they didn't have bottled water, but the young lady working the window was very nice and polite, I got my food in a decent time frame, and it was what I ordered for the most part. A ton better than some other Popeye's I've been to. I'll be back.

I’ve come to learn that this location can be very hit or miss. And today I am really not happy with the outcome. My husband went to pick up some lunch for us and both of our meals are messed up in some way. He ordered me a number 7 which is the seafood combo…Im not sure what number the wings are but that’s what I got.. it should have come with a coke and I didn’t get that either. I was on the phone with him and he ordered exactly what I had asked for. Not only did I get a completely different meal than what I had asked for he had asked for a 3pc meal and got a 6 ( usually I wouldn't complain about something like that, but with my meal being completely wrong I feel it’s necessary right now). On the upside the chicken is good and the fries are decent.
Elisha J — Google review
Seems like they didnt have enough chicken made at the time I placed my order. I got a 10 piece with all the same cut of meat. The chicken was good though.
Della A — Google review
Tried to order the ghost pepper sandwich through the drive-thru and they gave me a completely different sandwich. I didn't realize this till I got home then had to drive all the way back to get it exchanged, and they acted like they gave me the correct sandwich. But when I got home it was the same sandwich. All they did was put a little bit of spicy sauce on there. And it wasn't even that spicy the ghost pepper chicken patty is supposed to be bright red. This was a regular piece of chicken. Absolutely ridiculous

Chicken Express is a fast-food chain that offers fried chicken and catfish, alongside hushpuppies and desserts. Despite being previously overlooked, the establishment proved to be comfortable, quiet, and clean. The staff appeared friendly and the food was exceptional. Their spicy tenders were delectable, accompanied by satisfying sweet tea. A recent visit affirmed that everything from the chicken to the service was remarkable. The crispy chicken, mashed potatoes, and roll exceeded expectations compared to other Chicken Express locations.
Drive-thru worker this morning was awesome! Super helpful, friendly, and had great customer service. Made the whole morning a little brighter!

Overcharged for SPOILED FOOD. Our order is usually missing something or has extra things we did not ask for each time we come here. I didn’t even get a receipt with my last visit. I notice this happens when a plethora of the younger staff are there. I’m really not trying to be rude but that’s just how it goes. I asked for one mashed potato side REGULAR only to be given three, charged a strange amount, and have no receipt to further examine this. The containers with the black exes were spoiled.

Well, I have got to retract my praise of the catfish. Don’t know what happened but my order was terrible. Ordered an 8 piece of fish and got fish jerky. Paper thin fillets that were hard and tasteless. Come on Chicken Express, this is not like you. Makes it tough to return when you live 25 miles away. You get home and your order is a disaster. Better check those orders before you head on home.
Ken P — Google review
I visited the drive-thru to order dinner at 8:50 PM on Monday, July 7th. I initially attempted to order two fish fillets, but the employee taking my order informed me that the fish had been sitting out for a while and that the fryer had already been turned off. When I reached the window to pay for the chicken I ended up ordering instead, I asked the gentleman processing my payment what time they closed. He told me 10 PM and mentioned that shutting the fryer off early depends on who the cook is. He was very polite and apologetic. However, I found it unprofessional that the fryer was shut down more than an hour before closing. Customers should be able to expect the full menu to be available until close, or at least be informed of limitations in advance.

Just ordered 80 bucks of food. Got home ready to eat and they didn’t give me my family size fries. Went back, got them, no apology, nothing. Got back home and the Cole slaw was soured, biscuits were hard and dry (didn’t have rolls available). Chicken tenders are half the size they used to be. And let’s not talk about the wait time. Horrible. Won’t be back.

Hard working people work here. They got the order out quick and the rush was over in a blink of an eye. I work in a restaurant myself and I can tell they got their stuff together. Food was so good. I had the spicy tenders.

I ordered a family meal at the drive through today, Sat 4/27/24 at 4:50 pm. I don’t know who made the mashed potatoes and thought they were acceptable to serve, but they were nasty, liquidy and more like gravy. I live 20 minutes away and by the time I got home to look at it, I’m definitely not going to drive all the way back to get a refund and I paid over $40 for the family meal, what a waste!

First of all, I love chicken express. I think it is personally the better of the chicken strip chains but I get burnt at this one, no joke everytime(3). I want to say that Elizabeth was very pleasant and attentive. I was on a meeting via the phone and she made sure everything was perfect for us while allowing us to continue our meeting.

My burger was not hot it was warm but not hot enough that the cheese was not melted. Flavor was ok. Onion rings are always good at sonic and coneys too just not hot in this experience. Fries, tots were semi-warm, onion rings semi-warm, hotdog semi warm. For got our drinks and took awhile to bring us our drinks further making our order colder. Stalls to order are too close together our (Chevy silverado) truck doesn’t fit or barely made it. You can tell everyone scraps it. Sometimes whenever I go to sonics they have people walking around with their tray of condiments but not here. I needed ketchup and mustard but didn’t want to ask and prolong our visit. But should not have to ask as to where mustard well at least ketchup should have been in the bags but they should have asked concluding the order or when we received our order they should have asked have asked if we needed anything but also be prepared for the extras or have someone walking around with condiments. Good thing is that our carhop was nice and patient thank you young lady. I’m putting a review to give feedback to help someone else’s experience here a better one than mine or if I return it will be better next time I come . Hopefully someone gives note to employees for the better. Thank you for listening.

I did on online order for a super sonic breakfast burrito add bacon no tomatoes and a smash burger meal. The burger meal was great. But I ordered a super sonic breakfast burrito add back no tomatoes and ended up with a sausage and egg burrito. Really and when I called to get a refund or something that's fine but damn people order on the app because there on there way somewhere and get there food and leave. I'll be checking my orders more carefully from here on out. I have never had this problem before with this sonic usually there spot on.

This Sonic is ridiculous my whole order was messed up my burgers were all sloppy made even after I asked for them to be dry . 7 employees and they were dead no costumers and still managed to mess up on my order I had to turn back to get my order straight I called the number on receipt it was for Virginia smh so they hand me my order. Savanna the manager I think that’s her name after I told her I worked for sonic for 13 yrs as an assistant she had the nerve to redip my fries. This sonic is ridiculous clocking out orders without them. Being ready 44$ down the drain they need to be trained correctly saw another customer walking in with their messed up order !!

Damn... No meat etc Bring it back... Brings me a single patty in fry bag and flops it on the table. I mention the cheese she asks for a receipt. I say: the cheese really isn't that important as I chuckle. Brings cheese in fry bag. Meat is undercooked and cold. It's hotter out here. But such is the day after 12 hours of driving and 4 car issues on no food. The other customer says... Good thing you have a good temper. It's the little things, more humor in this life than tears. Oh.... And no refills. Oops. Not even finishing the mayo half of the bread and I almost never waste food. Next stop, Louisiana.... I'll save my appetite for the morning. And yes... I cleaned up after myself.

Nothing short of bad service, poor food, and general lack of effort. Took 10 minutes just to order, another 7 minutes before the food was delivered. Burnt onion rings and one of the worst, cold, burgers I've had in a very long time. Underwhelming at best

KFC, the iconic restaurant chain famous for its buckets of fried chicken, offers a delightful experience that keeps customers coming back for more. Recently, I indulged in their Famous Bowl Combo and was thrilled with the hot and fresh meal. The bowl was generously filled with creamy mashed potatoes, sweet corn, melted cheese, and crispy popcorn chicken—each bite bursting with flavor.
I live in a small town so KFC is a treat for me. It was very good!!! The flavor reminded me of when I was young and would get a bucket. It was very fresh and spot on!! The service was great! I love stopping here when I am in town. It never disappoints!!!

If I could give 0 stars then I would but first let me say this, the level of unprofessionalism is ridiculous at this location. My husband turned down some old, burnt, chicken and asked for a fresh batch. The so called manager took it upon herself to tell him not to come back. Now I didn’t take offense to this because we most surely will not be back, but that was absolutely ridiculous to get mad when a customer asks for fresh food. Do better KFC.

I stood in line 15 minutes and no one even acknowledged us.The staff literally walked by us several times and acted like they didn’t see us. The customer service was lackluster. The 2 piece chicken i ordered had been sitting under a heat lamp for more than an hour and looked like it had been cooked in old grease. It is annoying how inconsistent and incompetent the workers are here. I order the same thing every time: Brownie and cookie oreo cupfection. I went to get my place my order the girl rolled her eyes an sighed loudly.. I actually apologized and said I just need to make an order if that is okay. She didn't respond . And just glared .. like wow what the ??? So I told her my order . Went an sat down and listen to cuss word after cuss word from the kitchen of the entire staff cutting up.. when they brought out my ice cream .. I told the girl that all that cussing was horrible to listen to .. she never apologized however I will note it most certainly quieted down afterward Came for ice cream got live action life after lock down.

How this place even has 3.5 stars is beyond me. I don’t know why I still order from here. It’s bad every single time. I mean like the worst. I’ve been in Bastrop for 3 years and ordered through door dash a handful of times and every time the patties taste like they were made at 9am and sat out all day. The hunger buster burger is so thin you can’t even see what’s inside of it. It just looks like two buns pressed together when you open it from the packaging. My family loves Papa Murphys! The take and bake pizza is awesome for people who want pizza, but aren't ready to go home and sit and eat it right away. These pictures are of the Fiesta pizza w/bacon added. (It does not come with bacon!) The second one is the spicy aloha. It's a traditional Hawaiian pizza w/ jalepenos. (It does come with the jalepenos!) It is bbq sauce based. The jalepenos came spread on the entire pizza, but we moved them to one side, so our little one could enjoy too! I recommend these pizzas and I absolutely recommend this pizza chain! Update 10/5/2021 Celebrating our daughter's 7th birthday with her new favorite, double beef, pepperoni and pineapple. Just left not even 5 min away checking my order I realized my tots are definitely not a large and definitely do not have the extra cheese that I paid for. I call the store and Atlantis answers the phone as I tell her what happened she is laughing and says they must have read it wrong but you can come by either today or another day and get it remade just tell them you talked to one of the managers I asked her again what her name was again and if she was a manager. She provided her name and said she was. I told her I didn't appreciate her laughing and asked for her bosses name. She denied laughing and did not provide the name. I told her to forget it I would not be back. It's the lack of care and respect. You are making food that people would eat. In this case I did not, it was cold and unappealing to me.

Great place if you want your order wrong or whatever this is… we went the other day and my entire order was wrong. Sides and burger. Told them and they made a new one and still got it wrong. It was literally a burger with no tomatoes. Not a crazy order. Then today we get a breakfast sandwich and half a piece of sausage???

I ordered on the app, got to Sonic to wait an additional 20 minutes before my order got to my car. Something told me to check my food before I left and when I got home I was so upset to see this is how my fries came. Half full, and all of my food was cold. I came at 8pm when it was NOT busy. I would rather go to Cedar Creek over this location

You know when you love Sonic so much so you go to one every time you're out of town. I have one in my town but it's so incredibly awful that it's a real treat whenever we go to another area that has a Sonic. IF I ever decide to go to this Sonic, I KNOW going in to be prepared. I order twice as many fries as I normally would because they will always be half filled. I never plan to eat there because the food is ALWAYS cold. I try to avoid the burgers because they don't even resemble the burgers at the other restaurants but it's pretty hard to screw up fries and God help me, I love the fries. I always do the mobile order because waiting for someone to answer the button is laughable. I plan at least 20 minutes for my food then at least another 10 because I love the Groovy sauce but they will NEVER put the sauce in the bag. I don't even blink when the carhop sneers at me and pouts when I ask for my sauce because again, I come in mentally prepared. I know that most likely, they will never come back so I'll press the button and play a game - will I be able to holler out the window to get my sauce from the carhop actively ignoring me or will they answer the stall first. After 10 minutes, I just knock on the door and beg for my sauce. Yes, they all glare and snarl for the audacity but I want my sauce man. This is obviously a franchise because I've never been to a Sonic with this unique blend of horrible. It's really quite impressive.

Sonic is always good to eat, but I just got home from ordering sonic, and I paid for a large fry and this is what I got. Just wish they filled it up instead of charging me 3 dollars for a large fry. Pretty disappointed.
Rusty B — Google review
This is the only Sonic in town and they are usually busy but I’ve always had superb customer service here! Tonight Memphis was very helpful and even treated my pup Teddy to a free pup cup! Also, my carhop Aliyah (not the first time she’s served us) was phenomenal as always! These people are wonderful vibes and seem to love their work! Always leave with a smile!

After watching fireworks, we stopped in at this sonic. Pulled into a stall. Pressed the red button. After waiting for 20 minutes with no one taking our order, we decided to leave. So, we left & went somewhere else. We left about 10:21pm on a Saturday night (tonight).

Arby's is a beloved fast-food chain that specializes in delicious roast beef sandwiches, alongside a variety of hot and cold options, crispy fries, and delightful shakes. The Bastrop location stands out for its cleanliness and friendly staff who consistently get orders right. Many patrons rave about the Traditional Greek Gyro, noting the perfectly seasoned meat and fresh ingredients. With an impressive menu variety and quick service, Arby’s makes it easy to enjoy a satisfying meal without long waits.
The Arby's in Bastrop is always clean & the employees are always friendly! Our order has never been wrong & the food has NEVER disappointed!! The Traditional Greek Gyro is my favorite menu item- the meat is always perfectly seasoned & tender; the flatbread is always soft & fresh; the veggies are always fresh & crisp. Whatever flavor shake, those are always amazing!!

Person at the drive-through window was great and very professional, but the sandwich is another story. I’ve never seen such a sloppy mess and they expect you to eat this while going down the road. This is ridiculous. People should take more pride in their work.

Overall good. Place was clean and modern looking. Big roast beef sandwich was very good. A little stingy on the fries with a lot of tiny pieces. Overall one of the better Arby's I've been to.

I go to Arby’s a few times a year. I like the variety of items they carry and the different sizing options. They have good service and it’s quick. They also remember and ask what condiments you want. I’ve had great experiences at this location.

LOVE the Beef n Cheddar sandwich. It's always been over of my favorites. We used a coupon 2 for 6.99 (good deal).

It is a typical Arby's. It would be nice when ordering on the app to pickup at the drive through window rather than having to go inside the store to pick up your order.

Wendy's is a beloved fast-food burger chain that has been delighting customers since its inception in 1969, when Dave Thomas opened the first location in Columbus, Ohio. Known for their unique square beef patties and indulgent Frosty desserts, Wendy's has grown to encompass around 7,000 restaurants globally. They offer a variety of sides like chili and baked potatoes that perfectly complement their signature burgers.
The burger and chocolate frosty were fantastic. The employee that helped me was kind and helpful too. It was all warm and delicious too.

Expectation vs reality. Service was good but promotions sucks. Not worth $12. Mr Krabs don’t approved
Jpv1995 — Google review
Service has gotten worse. I ordered a jr bacon cheeseburger biggie bag through the drive thru. When I opened my wrapper I felt that my bun was hard as if it was stale, I returned to the store to get a new burger but was ignored by everyone and got a mean stare from each of the staff. I waited patiently until someone finally helped me and still got serviced as if I was the problem. I addressed the issue and they made me a new burger but once I received my order, the women in charge just rolled her eyes at me and ignored my issue. I worked for fast food for 6 yrs and this here is not good customer service. Will passing the word so no one will have to face this unsuspectedly. Store manager name given was Anahi. A receipt was not given to for my order. Time of occurrence was 7/20/25 @ 1ish. Wendy’s please do better with your employees. I will be writing more reviews.
Victoria G — Google review
I have not been to a Wendy's for over ten years. Mainly due to their prices getting out of control. The burger I have gotten since a young child for .99 is now $3.49 just to give an example. Either way, I got a craving for that burger and decided to bite the bullet and spend the almost $15 for something that used to be $5, years ago. Unfortunately, it did not go to well. The buns tasted and felt like they were sitting for a while and they were definitely stale. I don't know when Wendy's changed to shredded lettuce over the leaf lettuce on the burgers, but it sucks big time and was quite soggy. My fries were really cold and I only live 5 minutes away from Wendy's. I also asked for no salt on the fries while instead getting old fries with a lot of salt. The burgers tasted old and stiff like they had been sitting for a while along with the buns and all of the vegetables tasting old. Also, I asked for two honey mustard sauces for my fries and they said it would cost me an extra dollar. I passed, but got 8 packs of ketchup instead for no charge. Make that make sense... *sigh* It was an unpleasant experience for an expensive $15. Don't go here. They apparently don't care and you deserve better!

The food was good service was fast and I only give them a 3 star because they didnt give me a receipt and I expense my meals when out of town. But I had no issue with food or service other than that

Y'all should be embarrassed to serve and charge people for these awful burgers. Haven't been to Wendy's in forever and not having a single person ordering or eating should have been a sign. Ordered a single Baconator and was pre-made junk and I can put up with any fast food. burgers. Avoid even if starving.
Brian H — Google review
Not that many fries in the box, and they were cold and under salted to boot. Ordered no tomato on my burger, they put tomato on it. Paid six dollars cash and was not given any change so I had to go back up and remind her to give me my change. Ooh and the chicken nuggets were cold. Ooh and the bathroom floor was sticky from bodily fluid overspray. Ooh and one more thing, the sweet tea was not made and there was water all over the floor in the lobby in front of the drink station.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious pizza experience, look no further than Domino's Pizza! This popular delivery and carryout chain offers an extensive menu featuring not just a variety of mouthwatering pizzas but also an array of other delectable dishes and sides. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting one of their locations, where I was warmly welcomed by Zack and his dedicated team. They were busy crafting pizzas while maintaining a fun atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
We ordered from this location tonight! When I walked in I was greeted quickly. Zack and his team were hard at work but also having a great time. When we got home we saw how amazing our pizzas looked. Perfectly cooked and tasted just as great! Would recommend having a pizza from here soon. And remember to tip great customer service! Thanks guys for being awesome!

Called an hour ahead @ 11:30am to Pick-up @ 12:30pm, because it was a "Football" Sunday and I was going to work. I asked if that was enough time and was assured it was plenty of time. Arrived @12:30pm, the doorbell rang as I entered to 3 employees behind the counter and not 1 acknowledged my presence. I asked if there was someone working the counter, again silence. I raised my voiced and stated, "I'm here to pick up an order, my name is Melinda". The Asst Manager came to the registers to said, "You need to chill"! Asked my name again, looked at the screens and said, "It's going to be another 10mins". At this point I realized my order hadn't been started. I said this was unacceptable, I had to go to work. The Asst Manager offered me a refund, but that wasn't a viable option because I need food and not a refund. I asked about Delivery and he said he could do that. It was Delivered an hour later at my job.

We waited 45 minutes for our pizza delivery. It arrived cold - I called to complain and simply ask for a credit or discount. Unacceptable. I had to be transferred to a manger - Angel answered - the supposed manager at first she called me a liar the proceeded to give me a very rude attitude over the phone which I didn't deserve - Im not used to this kind of treatment from dominoes. Don't waste your time with this dominoes - complete waste of money and terrible customer service.

Lack luster quality. I ordered and paid for extra toppings, pretty sure I got less than normal. Most everything was edible, had to toss most of the the breadstick because it was hard as a rock. Not sure what happened to the pizza, was it dropped or is this the new shape? Wings were decent after popping them in the air fryer to finish cooking.

This rating is in regards to the business Dominos and not its staff at this location. The staff was terrific and very positive dispite being in such a HOT environment. It's 90s and 100s here in texas and this store was extremely hot and uncomfortable to be in and I was just waiting on my order to be complete for 5-10 minutes. I was sweating and was thinking its cooler outside then in this building but the staff was still working hard pushing orders out. If me as a customer was extremely hot, I can only imagine them. Plus if they are sweating while preparing the food, thats a huge concern. Please look into upgrading the AC unit here or providing fans although it definitely needs the AC upgrade. I'll rate 5 stars if this issue is fixed.

This store forgets our dipping sauce and icing comepletely almost every time we order (even though they charge us for them in full). Definitely not recommended for those looking to get their money's worth. Can't stress enough the amount of issues I've had with this location.

I've never been impressed by their food here, but their drinks are great. Coffee is delicious and the fountain sodas are the cleanest tasting in Bastrop. You know when you order a Dr pepper, and yea it tastes a little like Dr pepper but it also tastes like a little sprite or a little fanta....Yuck. Not here...their fountain drinks taste just like they should. Clean, crisp, and fresh. I go through here just for a drink

Food is not good anymore nor fresh. I had ordered something simple than went to use the restroom my order should of been bagged and on the counter by than. A delivery driver came in got his order filled as i watched them pack his bag first than they gave me my order after asking me what i wanted in spanish. Like homegirl i am the only customer in here i want my order duh. The burger king in Elgin tops this place 10 fold. My chicken sandwich had old lettuce, patty was soggy not crispy either nor tasted fresh.

We ordered 3 combo meals online and picked them up through the drive thru. The (med) BBQ brisket whopper meal, fries, drink w/ grilled onions was missing the BBQ brisket! The (Lg) whopper w/cheese, onion rings, & root beer was barely a med size onion rings sitting in a large paper container! The last order was correct. We ate them all anyway as we paid for it and we were hungry.

So Esmeralda the manager today started harassing 2 customers today for their service animals not having their vests on. Her manager needs to teach her how to properly handle asking people for service papers if she has a problem why dogs in this heat are not wearing service vests. Ok top of that this lady can't read simple orders getting orders all wrong. I order the #1 with only mayonnaise and instead got a small jr. Cheeseburger with everything I asked not to be on it. Now I was nice about it all but then I asked to speak to her store manager and she simply told me that they won't be available. So because I am not able to speak to the manager I will post this so they will hopefully see it. You hired a lady who is down right rude. Who also can't read proper instructions and made orders wrong. While customers watched her have attitudes to people who had service animals but these customers brought in their dogs registrations and once she humiliated these customers she didn't want to see proof of their services. This is not ok and I hope they instead give her position to someone who has manners and doesn't act like they came from streets. So Esmeralda thank you for humiliating 2 people for having service dogs. I didn't appreciate it one bit and I am sure the other customer didn't either. Maybe you should go back to school so you can at least learn to read and make burgers correctly and maybe you can learn some manners.

The customer service was terrible. The lady at the window on 8/10 at 3:43 pm had an immediate attitude as soon as she looked at me. They can’t hear out of the intercom requiring customers to repeat themselves several times. I’ll be completing a survey as well. It’s unfortunate that 1 person could cause the restaurant a bad review.

Usually I have a good visit every time I place an order for pickup. I did the same thing I always do, place an order and go pick it up. Tell me whats wrong with this pizza. Like ew. The box is SOAKED. And why does the pizza look like that?? INCREDIBLY disappointed and I won't be back.

Ordered online a stuffed crust pepperoni and it was barely cooked. Two orders of crazy bread had zero flavor. A classic cheese i think was sitting for a while and doubled over on one side. As well as, a pepperoni and jalepeno half pizza half sticks and no jalapeno was added and it was checked off on the app that way. I didnt add jalapenos it was offered with it. The food all tasted off and we probably at 2 slices of each and called it a day. Not a good experience not to mention it was not busy not one car waiting but myself and all the pizza was cut in the most random slices. $35 dollars wasted for my sons bday lunch

I ordered two pepperoni stuffed crust pizzas and instead received two cheese stuffed crust pizzas. When I called the Bastrop, TX Little Caesar’s, the employee who identified himself as Dayne was rude and unprofessional. After I explained the mistake, he told me to contact DoorDash and refused to offer a replacement or refund. When I requested resolution, he became aggressive, told me I wasn’t going to tell him how to do his job, then called me “belligerent” and hung up. I remained calm and never raised my voice or used profanity. When I called back, he hung up on me mid-sentence. This behavior was unacceptable, and I am requesting a refund or replacement through corporate. Also the pizza was horrible quality which you can see in the photos. It was rubbery and one was burnt, my kids would my even eat it. I didn't want to risk ordering any more pizza there. Gods knows with that rudeness and poor workmanship what they would or wouldn't do to your food. Or how they treat it and respect cleanliness, etc.

I had orders 4 Cheese Crazy Puffs with crazy sauce did not receive sauce not even that my crazy puff were completely funny looking only one crazy puff were decent So yessssss! I definitely ate it!! I watch a lot videos on TikTok and I seen how they should’ve been made but no it was not even close to what the pictures on the app and videos were. Whoever made them obviously didn’t try or just “LAZY “ but I’m positive they wouldn’t be happy with “ Exactly “ what I was given . My 1 Classic Pepperoni was not even hot I know they have places to put the pizza at to keep warm but an other thing they didn’t put pizza sauce on my pizza 🤦🏽‍♀️I paid $15.99 for what to eat something that wasn’t good enough or even close that’s worth $15.99.!!!

I know this place is always slow so I placed an order and hour in advance for 6:30pm I got there at 6:35pm and they kept saying it will be “5 mins”…..they obviously didn’t even start my order until I got there. At 7pm they said they would start making the crazy bread. This place is definitely not “Hot and ready”. This is the 4th time I have experienced issues here.
Derek R — Google review
I don't know why I come here even though I know better. Almost 90 mins from the time I place the order to actually getting the pizza. Then while they wait for parts of your order to cook they leave the pizzas just sitting on the cutting table to get lukewarm. Food is okay for the price you pay which is why they stay in business. Good for parties. But will never be good for timing of pickup orders
Kayla H — Google review
Called in a to-go order for some pizza. I ordered things crust pepperoni, thin crust five meat feast, crazy bread with marinara and 2 orders of wings. I was told the location didnt have wings so I didn't order them. Upon arriving, I asked if I could order wings along with my order due to seeing wings in their warmer. I drove all the way back home just to find out the five meat was a cheese pizza and I didnt receive marinara. called back and was on hold for about 10 mins. After waiting and waiting I hung up the phone and called back while i drove up to the little ceasars. I walked in with wrong pizza in hand and explained my situation. I was told that they would remake it for me and i handed the wrong pizza back. As I'm waiting for the correct pizza, I'm still on the phone calling the location and you can hear the phone ringing and ringing while one employee stands at the front register, two other employees are making pizzas and one employee standing at the back door of the store with the door half way open and leaning on the entry way smoking a CIGARETTE!!!!!!! All while the phone is ringing and ringing. Not a care it the world for customer service. After thinking about it, the first time I called in, I was redirected to a call center and not the store. No wonder when I called back with an order issue they redirected me to the actual store probably knowing the store does not answer the phone. Horrible customer service and customer experience!!!!!!!

Ordered a Detroit Style Deep Dish and another pepperoni and was shocked when I got home to see this monstrosity. It looks like it was baked in a normal pizza pan and an attempt was made to make it square. Also undercooked and absolutely terrible tasting. Normally they aren’t bad, but goodness this was an absolute fail of a pizza.
