Pizza Takeout

Home Slice Pizza is a popular spot in Austin, known for its thin-crust slices and pies available for dining in or carry out, especially open late for takeaway on weekends. It's a go-to place for Northeast transplants seeking an authentic New York-style pie with the distinct aroma of cheese and tomato sauce. The classic Pepperoni and Mushroom slice is a favorite, while the White Clam Pizza offers a unique twist with chopped clams and garlic.
This place was incredible! I glad I found a great place to go when I need to get a good slice of pizza. I love the salad, I chose Pear Gorgonzola and I LOVED, highly recommend! Then the pizza came: half White Pie With Spinach and half white clam pizza. I we enjoy the combination. The service was great, she gave us options and offer the different drinks options, we ended up with lemonade which was really good. Finally, the place it's cozy, a bit dark inside but you can seat inside and outside (based on availability).

Want to start off by saying the restaurant itself is very cozy. Choice of booths, sitting at the bar, or a normal table. I’m a sucker for a booth so that’s what I went with. Milo who was my server was most pleasant and helpful with suggestions being my first time here. Had a beer to go along with the pizza and was pleasantly surprised. Initially just ordered a slice of pepperoni but after falling in love with that, and the server giving me a slice of sausage and garlic pizza I decided to take a box back to the hotel. Beer was incredible, pizza was out of this world and as my pops said “best pizza I’ve ever had”. Service was also outstanding and the atmosphere in general is great. Wish I lived here so I could be a regular of the place. Long story short this is the spot to go to if you’re in Austin and want a legit pizza!

Home Slice Pizza 🍕 My favorite NY style pizza in Austin. My cousin’s band Wiretree played here during one SXSW so I have fond memories of that but I have been visiting this restaurant for over a decade. It is a great place to just stop in for a slice. They now have a 2nd location next door so even more capacity. I have always had a great meal here and it is a mandatory stop on my visit. Giant slices and a wide variety of toppings as well. I will add more pictures of the food soon but suffice it to say this is a beloved spot for me when I am in ATX.
Daniel M — Google review
If you're craving top-tier pizza, this is the place to be! The food is good, pizza is great and they have one of those mozzarella cheese container things on tables, they also had great dessert but it is filling. Service is solid, the staff is friendly and quick, though during peak hours, you might wait a bit. Still, their upbeat attitude makes up for any delay. As for the atmosphere, it’s dim but I oddly like it, it’s a fun spot whether you’re dining in with friends or grabbing a quick bite. Overall: 4.7/5 — Highly recommend! Home Slice lives up to the hype.

Found the best pizza joint in Austin!!! Pizza was delicious and staff was so friendly made us feel right at home. 8 in this family and they didn't complain about our noise. Great place to eat highly recommended HOME SLICE South Congress. DEFINITELY coming back here when we come back to Austin!!!! Classic pepperoni can't go wrong, margherita pizza finger licking good!!!!
Manny — Google review
Homeslice came highly recommended, but I found it to be overpriced and mediocre. Pizza is my all-time favorite food, so I consider myself to be a bit of an expert in the field of marinana, mozzarella, and crust. Homeslice is all hype. First, parking is a mess. It's impossible to find a spot in the restaurant's lot, and you have to park way far away in an adjacent neighborhood. It only costs $2 to park, but still a pain. The line for a slice was crazy, but we got in it. They moved the line quickly. Since it was our first time and we wanted to sample several things, we ordered a slice of pepperoni, a slice of cheese, and a small Italian sub. After jockeying for position, we finally got a place to sit after waiting almost 15 minutes. They have seating on an outdoor patio, which has to be unpleasant on hot, humid days. It took a long time to get our order, and we waited nearly 30 minutes after ordering. An employee came out and screamed out name, and we had our noms. Even at first glance, the pizza slices looked disappointing. Not only were they small, but they were clearly lacking enough cheese. So many bites had no cheese at all! Pizza needs plenty of cheese, people! The sauce and crust had absolutely no flavor. It needed some garlic, salt, oregano, something, ANYTHING! The pepperoni was particularly gross. It tasted like a wet dog smells. Barf. It went unfinished. The Italian sub looked good, but was mediocre. The only thing it had going for it was the toasted bread. Other than that, you can get far better sandwiches just about anywhere except Subway. For how pricey this place was, I can't believe the high reviews and ratings. Maybe Austin locals aren't picky about their pizza, but I would never come back to eat here. Ya'll are crazy to think this is a good restaurant.
L M — Google review
The crust on our pizza was cooked perfectly, and we liked the amount of cheese. The service we received was good. The garlic knots were tasty, and the garden salad was huge!
Heather C — Google review
Monday evening we were pleasantly surprised to be seated quickly as this place is always busy and for good reason. We ordered a large pizza: 1/2 eggplant (thinly sliced) pizza and 1/2 pepperoni with mushrooms baked to a thin crust perfection (chef's kiss). We shared a large caesar salad that came with a garlic bread knot with an additional order of marinara sauce. Customer service was exceptionally courteous which makes the dining experience even more. The ambience is really nice and spacious. We did go for the gusto and got tiramisu to share and it was worth it.

Mexican restaurant
Veracruz All Natural is a popular eatery known for its delicious tacos, including the famous migas taco. Founded by sisters Reyna and Maritza Vazquez from Veracruz, Mexico, the restaurant offers a blend of fresh, organic ingredients with a passion for their culture. Originally a food truck, it has expanded to multiple locations and an extended menu featuring pastor, fish, barbacoa, and shrimp tacos.
Veracruz is a hidden gem for tacos in Austin, TX! I tried the shrimp, barbacoa, and chorizo tacos, and each one was packed with flavor. The salsas were perfectly balanced—not too hot, not too mild—just right. I also had an agua de horchata, which was fresh and tasty. The vibe is great too, with both indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio. It’s a solid spot for a quick taco fix. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
Natalio T — Google review
Very popular Tex-Mex spot in Austin. The guac was well-made and chips were fresh, thick, & crunchy type. As for the tacos themselves, they were not complex in their flavor profile: tasted like the combination of the ingredients they were made with. Everything inside (egg, peppers, mushroom, etc.) was cooked well so it tasted good but lacking synergy.
Dhruv P — Google review
First taco stop in Austin as an out of towner, and this spot did not disappoint. Fantastic steak and chicken tacos, perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend! Bring your pet, select a picnic table and just enjoy!
Bea S — Google review
I will forever recommend anyone I know how is visiting Austin to go the Veracruz. It was absolutely delicious, the drinks were refreshing and the ambience was fantastic! I wish I had tried more of their tacos, but definitely will try them next time I am in the city~
Janelle Y — Google review
My tastebuds are having a party. This is fresh and authentic food! Doña Reyna is sublime, Miga’s poblano great for breakfast Eggs and chorizo and an Al pastor for lunch! Mmmmm Will I be back for a fourth visit???
Rebecca P — Google review
There was a surprisingly long wait despite only a few customers at the time, which was a bit frustrating. However, the tacos were delicious, especially the barbacoa, and the space itself was enjoyable with some really cute areas to sit and enjoy the meal.
Heather C — Google review
Best corn tacos ever! I don’t even really like corn but if I could have those that’s all I would have. I had steak, fish, and mole. The staff were so nice and the food came out super fresh. You may have to wait because they are busy and make everything from scratch. It’s worth the wait.

This place was another stop on our food tour. We had a breakfast taco. Eggs, avocados & deliciousness! Fresh ingredients! So good!

Breakfast restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a breakfast experience that will leave you satisfied well into the afternoon, look no further than Juan in a Million. Nestled in East Austin since the 1980s, this beloved eatery is renowned for its oversized breakfast tacos and traditional Tex-Mex dishes served in a cozy setting with an inviting outdoor patio. Owned by former school teachers Juan and Myrna Meza, every visit feels like coming home to family.
Absolutely phenomenal breakfast tacos. Went on Saturday and it was very busy. Usually there is a wait but we got lucky and got a nice booth. Don juan taco is massive and honestly the best out of the five I got. Definitely would recommend if there is no wait. If there is a long line like it was we left, might go somewhere else. They also have bottled beer which is nice.
Hurp D — Google review
Absolutely amazing food , prices and service. Im from California and it's so hard to find a good menudo. Some of the best ive ever had. We also go the don juan taco. Its was also delicious and such a great serving size.
Viviana B — Google review
Juan in a Million is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Get ready to fall in love with their Don Juan El Taco Grande and Con Queso Breakfast Plate. We certainly did. Sharing each plate was compulsory. My only regret is that I cannot eat here regularly. As a visitor to Austin, I feel very fortunate to have chosen this as our last breakfast before heading to the airport. We still felt satisfied after our two hour flight home.
Snoboardz1972 — Google review
This is probably most popular Mexican restaurant in Austin. There usually a waiting line especially on the weekend. Burrito are huge and good value. Breakfast is pretty good, it is hearty, fresh tortilla goes well with the meal. It would be better if they have chilaquiles. For a popular Mexican restaurant, it is strange that they don't offer it.
FriedChicken — Google review
Juan in a million is my favorite breakfast in Austin. The Don Juan is the staple and is a mound of breakfast taco filling. They have the Mexican sodas and frescas. I’d recommend getting two extra tortillas with the Don Juan. Be aware, this place can be popping busy. It ranges from no one there to a 30 person line.
Jared D — Google review
Excellent service! As soon as we sat down, we had water and chips & salsa. Prices are affordable and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The food came out lightning fast! It took less than 10 minutes after we ordered. It’s perfect for a quick meal or for a family gathering. Parking is limited but this Austin gem is so worth it!
Geoff G — Google review
Classic little joint famous for breakfast tacos. Welcoming staff. Menu covers everything you would expect for breakfast and lunch. I had the Huevos a la Mexicana, which was basic, straight ahead, but satisfying. The Lemonades were massive! We got there just after eight and the crowds started streaming in. Place is bigger than it may look from the outside. I think it is a must-visit in Austin.
Astral T — Google review
The staff was welcoming as soon as I walked in. I had the chorizo with egg and migas with cheese breakfast tacos. They were great and had authentic Mexican taste to them. Plus, they served complimentary chips and salsa.

Asian restaurant
Takeout Restaurant
Restaurant
Koriente is a cozy Pan-Asian eatery located in downtown Austin, offering a variety of vegan and gluten-free options. The knowledgeable staff can guide diners through the menu to identify dishes that are free from gluten. Despite not being strictly vegetarian, the restaurant provides an array of plant-based choices such as Koriente curry, garden handrolls, japchai, mixmix bibimbap, and obake bowl with tofu.
This has been one of my best discoveries in the city of Austin, TX during the SXSW25. It's a very chill place, in a quiet corner just behind the street with all the music venues. The guys working here are funny and kind and food is great! I had the Pork Bento Box and everything I ate was healthy yet very tasty. Prices are good too, a Bento box is 14$ and I think it is the highest price you can pay, and you get a Miso soup for free. My friend took a Shitake Tofu Bowl and it costs even less (it looked great as well, by the way). I also loved the message you can read at the entrance. A must visit in Austin, especially (but not only) if you love asian food.
Leandro A — Google review
The restaurant is very simple and small but cute. There is patio seating in the back which allows dogs. You place your order at the counter and then your order will be brought to your table. There is free, vegan miso soup, which you could try (we did try it and found it to be OK? It was not very flavorful, but it had tiny tofu chunks in it). I got the tofu shiitake bowl and enjoyed it - it was a little spicy (in a good flavorful way). I got a side of the sesame, sweet potato noodles and really enjoyed it. My friend got the spicy chicken bowl, but did not enjoy it much and it was not spicy either. My friend also got the kimchi and said it tasted very authentic. If you dine while seated on the back porch, you might see cute Uber Eats robots around for delivery pick up.
Malavika K — Google review
I had the spicy chicken plate. The sauce on the chicken was very good and definitely spicy. The rice was a combination of white and black rice and was also delicious. The other dish I ordered was the box, which was great. Overall, the food was unique and well worth the visit. Parking was easy at 2 p.m.
R J — Google review
We were headed to nearby comedy club and were looking for a place for dinner. We walked by this little gem. We opened the door and it smelled good so we decided to give it a try. Very fast service, the food was very good.
John H — Google review
I’ve been coming to Koriente for over a decade, since my ACC days back around 2011 when I used to longboard from Rio Grande to Riverside. In between, this spot was always the recharge I needed — a place that felt like home. And when I say “home,” I mean it in the deepest sense. I grew up in Japan, and even though Koriente is Korean cuisine, the wholesome character of the flavors has always carried that same warmth and energy. Every time I step in, it feels nostalgic, welcoming, and genuine. Back when I ate more heavily on meat, there was never any judgment. Now that I’m mostly vegetarian, Koriente still makes sure I can get full, and I always end up with leftovers — which reheat perfectly. This time I had the kimchi tofu bowl, and it was the bomb dot com. I ate half there, then brought it home and stir-fried the rest, and it still tasted immaculate. The staff has always been incredibly kind, with small gestures of gratitude that make you feel part of a community. Thank you, Koriente, for being the bomb dot com and for holding it down all these years. Austin is lucky to have you.
Jesus R — Google review
I ordered the rice medallion sauce with tofu and a taro bubble tea. It was so tasty!! The flavors were balanced and not overwhelming. The boba was soft and everything you expect from a great boba shop. The inside of the place was small but the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be back when I return to Austin!!
Analisa S — Google review
Food is terrific and tasts fresh and healthy. Portion size is also good. I loved their vegetarian options. The only feedback is if the food could be served in Bone China bowls or paper one instead if Melamine (Plastic) will be healthy for the customers who wants to enjoy hot food.
Mukesh S — Google review
Loved the dinner here. I had the dumpling, pork belly bento box with taro coffee (strong). Great selection, prices and quality. Small place so walk in claim a table and order at the counter. Will return. The mixmix was good also. We had leftovers.

Hamburger restaurant
Diner
Dirty Martin's Place is a beloved Austin establishment that has been serving up classic American fare since 1926. Originally known as Martins KumBak, the restaurant started with just eight bar stools and dirt floors. Over the years, it earned the nickname "Dirty's" in reference to its humble beginnings, which eventually led to an official name change to Dirty Martin's Place. The restaurant narrowly avoided relocation due to a light-rail project, preserving its historic location on Guadalupe Street.
My bf and I love this place. He was talking about how his dad used to come here back in the day so we checked it out. The best milkshakes ever. The hamburgers are to die for as is the BLT. The fried pickles are the bomb. We also love looking at all the photos.
Kimberly B — Google review
Dirty Martin’s Place: A Timeless Austin Classic Nestled in the heart of Austin's West Campus, Dirty Martin’s Place stands as a testament to the city's rich culinary history. Established in 1926 by John Martin as Martin’s Kum-Bak, the establishment began with a single flat-top grill, an eight-stool bar, and a small drive-thru. The original dirt floors led to the affectionate nickname "Dirty's," a nickname that has endured even after the floors were replaced with concrete in the early 1950s. Over the decades, Dirty Martin’s has become a regular hangout for University of Texas students and locals. The restaurant's commitment to quality and tradition has kept it a staple in Austin's dining scene. I went with two friends, Mark and Susan Wilson, who attended UT almost 50 years ago, and they remembered going on dates there on Friday nights. “I remember the cook frying burgers, and he would have cigarette in his mouth. We always joked that there was a good chance some ashes would fall on the grill and provide extra flavoring. We have a ton of good memories in this place,” said Susan. I asked the waitress what the main sellers are these days, and she said the Kumbak Cheeseburger, the D.H. Special and Dirty’s Chicken Sandwich are the big three. Kumbak Cheeseburger - The signature dish since 1926, the Kumbak Cheeseburger features a juicy 100% Angus beef patty, topped with American cheese, mayo, pickle and tomato and toasted sesame bun. It's a simple yet satisfying choice that has stood the test of time. The D.H. Special - This is a double patty melt served with grilled onions, pickle and tomato on Texas toast. Dirty Chicken Sandwich - Fried chicken tenders, with lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle mayo served on a toasted sesame bun. While the Kumbak Cheeseburger is good, I liked the O.T. Special. It’s basically the Kumbak Cheeseburger but add bacon. I also chose to double the meat. Guys will want to add the double meat option. The patties are thinner, and the extra meat made the choice perfect. Next time I want to add a fried egg, grilled onions and jalapenos to the O.T. I also tried sides of tater tots and onion rings. The tots were so good. Soft and properly salted. Onion rings were a little dry for me. Some people may like that style. I will go with tots and Fried Pickles next time. The restaurant's rich history is also marked by the dedication of its staff. Cook Wesley Hughes served at Dirty Martin’s from 1956 to 2009, becoming a beloved icon in the community. Legend has it that his brother, J.T., created Austin’s first bacon cheeseburger, which evolved into the O.T. Special. Dirty Martin’s Place offers more than just a meal; it provides a glimpse into Austin's past and a taste of its enduring flavors. Whether you're a long-time local or a first-time visitor, a stop at Dirty Martin’s is a must to experience a piece of Austin's culinary history. #MattGoodEats

A true Austin classic. If you’re visiting, you don’t want to miss this spot! They serve great old-school burgers and crispy onion rings. With so many iconic restaurants disappearing, it’s refreshing to see Dirty Martin’s still holding strong.

Amazing food and amazing staff. The place was very welcoming. The food was delicious. 10 out of 10 recommend. The chili cheese burger was phenomenal.

Single bacon cheeseburger, tots, and a big red shake - YUM!!! Also shared fried pickles and the chicken quesadilla. Everything was delicious, the staff was great, the food was served quickly. If you're ever in the area, it's definitely worth stopping in for a bite.

This very nostalgic restaurant est. in 1926 had amazing food! We had the Val's grilled chicken sandwich with Chipotle mayo, onion rings, large Kumback burger with fries, wings, and root beer floats. All the food was super tasty! I would recommend paying at the counter and getting a number versus the QR code menu/pay option at the table. Just had lunch at Dirty Martin’s Place and it hit all the right nostalgic notes. I went with the Kum-Bak Cheeseburger and an order of homemade onion rings, and both were fantastic — burger was juicy with a lightly toasted bun, and the onion rings were crispy without being greasy. Also tried their Val’s homemade queso with chips — creamy, flavorful, and a great start to the meal. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, chatting with us and making us feel at home. The whole place has that vintage, relaxed Austin vibe which really adds to the experience. Can’t wait to come back and try the Habanero Burger or dig into those Corn Nuggets next time.

Tamale House East is a trendy Mexican spot known for its delicious breakfast and lunch offerings, as well as a charming patio. The restaurant is owned by the nieces and nephews of the late owner of the original Tamale House, carrying on his legacy with tasty tacos and affordable prices. While they don't just serve tamales, their breakfast tacos are particularly popular, featuring flavorful fillings like fluffy eggs, fried potatoes, thick-cut bacon, and fresh salsas.
I'm posting about this 5 star experience while sitting at the bar letting this deliciousness digest. I visited Tamale House as a final stop on my way back to Houston. I cannot recommend enough that you do the same! The food, the atmosphere, and the family that work here are all a joy. Pro tip - the migas with bacon, salsa, and cilantro is 👌💯🔥 Thank you Diana and Carmen for a wonderful part of my Sunday! Cheers

I feel like this place is a hidden gem, I came here for brunch a few weeks ago and really enjoyed my chilaquiles. We came back for dinner tonight and the Al pastor tacos were amazing. The mole tamale was also delicious. The outdoor patio is such a vibe. The owner is very sweet and came by to check on us.

First time to Tamale House and most likely our last. Had the “migas” plate but I’m Not sure why that is called migas. Super disappointed, mostly crispy tortillas and the plate looked very unappetizing. Had to place my own order, tip and rate before getting our food. Wayyyy over priced! The place is beautiful but the sore on the, I guess hostess was uh, gross. Abreva girl! This is my first ever bad review, because it was bad y’all! Sorry Tamale House!

Recently ate here while visiting my friend who lives in Austin. We got in about an hour before they closed and received good service. Your place your order through your phone by scanning the code on the table. Had the chicken tamale with mole plate. It was very good, mole tasted like mole and the tamale was not dry. Would go here again.

Historic Tex-Mex restaurant on East Sixth offering extensive menu highlighted by tacos and tamales, carrying on a tradition since 1958. It has some of Austin's most beautiful patio space, and the indoor dining rooms are no less amazing. We loved their breakfast tacos made with outstanding homemade flour tortillas. The real standout is the phenomenal chipotle migas taco, with scrambled eggs and crispy corn tortilla chips that get tossed in queso with a smoky chipotle salsa, all on a freshly made flour tortilla. One review said: "It’s a rare chilaquiles-adjacent evolution of migas, and something that should belong in the Museum of Breakfast Tacos." Their namesake tamales are excellent too. They have a parking lot in front and street parking in the back.

This place is a special gem!! Authentic as it gets. The best tamales I've had in my life. Don't short change your self and not also get their mexi-coffee as well which is their home version of an iced horchata.

Some of the best tamales out there! The pork one was perfect and the green sauce was sooo good! Breakfast tacos are also delicious! Oh and free parking!

This place is so underrated and so good! It has an adorable patio area that is perfect for bachelorette parties or girls dinner. The tamales are amazing! Margaritas are great and it’s all at a reasonable price. I actually hope the place gets more attention because they deserve it! 10 stars!!

Tex-Mex restaurant
Country food restaurant
Texas Chili Parlor is a classic spot in Austin, serving up Tex-Mex and American cuisine along with a range of chili options from mild to XXX hot. The restaurant has been around since the 1970s, offering a kitschy setting where you can enjoy dishes like enchiladas covered with Texas-style chili. It's known for its affordable menu that features a variety of options, including the popular pork chop dinner for less than $15.
This is a must see and eat place in Austin. The food and service were excellent. We were greeted with smiles and seated quickly. Our waitress explained the menu and the top selections. The food came out quick and hot. The Texas chili is the best for you meat eaters. No beans, just meat. I personally had the lunch special which was an enchilada and a tamale both covered in a chili of your choice and served with rice and beans. My kids got a patty melt and a bacon cheeseburger and my wife got a cup of veggie chili. We destroyed it all and left happy and full. And all for under $50. The atmosphere was eccentric and felt like an old roadside chili bar. I loved it. It got packed by 12:00 with a lot of locals. They know what’s up! Don’t miss out on one good meal at an affordable price at the Texas Chili Parlor.
Silas S — Google review
Bartender told me "good luck" when asking about service at the bar. I sat at a table instead. Food was very good. Very affordable so the value is there. I had the enchilada and steak plate with a sampling of the XX chili for dinner. The enchiladas were great. The steak wasn't the highest quality but it was seasoned and cooked well. The chili had large chunks of what seemed like chuck. Everything was very good. I went back for lunch and had the two taco plate and the cheese enchilada plate (they were that good the night before). The salsa with the chips and salsa was great. I could drink it. The taco shells would have been better if they had been heated up in an oven or something. The taco meat filling was really tasty. The enchilada plate was fantastic with the ranchero sauce. Service at the table was great both times.

You ever walk into a smallish looking dingy dungeon with glowing red lights? That's the ambience of the TCP and it's awesome. You walk into a different world of vintage signs, with a classic looking little bar on your left where you know the regulars sit daily. You're escorted to a table that's jammed among other tables in a rustic setting. And I absolutely love the vibe. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is to match. $25 ribeye steak with potato and salad is the perfect meal for a great price. The chili is spicy as is the waitresses. I would recommend using a bathroom before going into The TCP as you have to duck into the men's washroom through a 20 inch door and avoid the sink at the same time. The washroom is the size of a small closet. But that also adds to the vibe. We had amazing service with Crystal who threw in a couple bumper stickers and that was appreciated. Would definitely eat here again
Joe Z — Google review
This was on the list of things to do in Austin so when we went there I did not expect to be comforted by a mentally ill man sitting outside the restaurant as I walked in..This man stood in front of my wife blocking the entrance and then came in and spoke to us while we were seated. Not one word was said to this guy by anyone at this establishment!!! The food was okay but I like my Chili with more seasoning. The service was good because our server was real nice. I can say I went 👍🏾
Jason B — Google review
If you’re going to Austin, you definitely have to consider visiting this place. Like in every downtown, parking is tricky, but it’s worth it. The place has very Texan-style decor, the food is good, but the service from the waitresses is really bad—no interest in providing good service.

Texas Chili Parlor is an iconic place to visit. It's famous for its chili, and they offer many different combos and sizes. The prices are reasonable, and the Tex-Mex dishes are also delicious. I had the sausage chili, which was yummy, although it was a bit salty.

Great time at the Chili Parlor! Start with the Taster appi. Then had the steak and enchilada special. Steak was ok, enchilada rice and chili star in this show. If you’re hungry it’s awesome! Good experience altogether.
Kipp D — Google review
6 adults (ages 38-50) visiting from Florida walked in mid afternoon on a Saturday. Place was about half full, decent lunch crowd and lots of open tables. Bartender informed us to seat ourselves. Found two 4-top tables next to bar and proceeded to slide them together so we could sit together (and, seat ourselves). As the tables were almost slid together an older white man who I am assuming owns the place came and aggressively pulls the tables apart rudely saying “I don’t come to your house and start moving furniture around” and mentions we can’t put tables together because of fire code. No, there would’ve been absolutely no obstruction of path to an exit. We don’t run a business or sell a service from our house. We weren’t drunk. We weren’t unruly college students who I am sure they deal with all the time. Just pulling tables together like I’ve seen done in thousands of restaurants. Zero hospitality whatsoever. Menu looked good, too, but I wasn’t about to give that man one dime so my wife and I had waters while others had a drink or two before we went to spend our money elsewhere. This experience motivated me to write my first ever negative online review and that’s saying something. My career is in hospitality, too, so I am more than empathetic to what restaurant owners have to manage and the stress that comes with it. Hospitality industry isn’t for everyone.

Sandy's Hamburgers is a classic burger joint located on Barton Springs Rd, offering a drive-through and dine-in experience. Since 1946, it has been serving up delicious treats with a straightforward menu that includes burgers, fries, chicken tenders, and an array of ice cream options. In addition to their signature burgers, they also offer items like BLT sandwiches, chili fries, and chicken sandwiches. The menu is not overwhelming but still offers variety.
It is a small little Burger joint that offers American favorites: burgers, fries, shakes, cones. It has an old retro style, picnic tables for eating and matching mood music. Although it wasn't the "worlds best burger," it was pretty darn good. Fries were great too! We wanted to have ice cream but we were full. The hand dipped cones we saw looked delicious! I wouldn't put too much thought into the 2 and 3 star reviews from "expert" guides. The long, constant lines speak for themselves!
Debbi M — Google review
Seems to always be a long line, so I thought I'd try this place out. Although the line seemed long it only took about 10 minutes to get through. Ordered a combo and it was good! Will have to go back to try their ice cream. Highly recommend. Quick service and order was correct.

We really wanted a shake and fries at 10pm and Sandy’s did not disappoint. We ordered strawberry shake with Oreos with a chocolate shake and some fries and a corn dog. Forgot to take pictures because we drank and ate everything really fast. All of it was delicious. Don’t forget to order your shakes with malt. The service was quick and friendly. We really appreciate yall!

Sandy's Hamburgers is a hidden gem! Great quality food with very reasonable prices! I ordered the Cheeseburger Combo with Chili Cheese Fries and a Root Beer for just a bit over $10! This was on a Saturday and believe they had a bit of a special going on, but same same. The food was phenomenal. I went back in line to order the ice cream waffle cone dipped in chocolate, and loved it. It's outdoor ordering and seating with a drive thru option. Sandy's was packed with hungry customers and it was worth the wait. Give this place a try!
Andy — Google review
Sandy’s Hamburgers offers a nostalgic twist on classic American comfort food: burgers and fries. Order at the walk up window and your number is called when the order is ready. They have a surprising number of picnic tables around back (covered). The single patty OG burger felt like too much bun per burger but the double patty tasted like a real burger and was decent. Fries are tasty. Ice cream comes dripping and melts fast. It was difficult to understand the order-taker, and there were a surprising number of 'options' for what feels like a simple selection, making the ordering process confusing. Overall, if you're craving a solid, old-school burger and fries, Sandy’s delivers. Just don’t expect a gourmet sit-down experience—it’s more about flavor and nostalgia than ambiance.

You just walk up to the window, place your order, and they call out your number when it’s ready. So easy and SO GOOD! A classic burger place that gives you huge portions, delicious juicy burgers, and they even do dipped cones. What else could you want?

Sandy's was a great treat after visiting Barton Springs. Made me feel like a kid again. Playing in the water all afternoon and finishing the day with a delicious meal. Burgers, fries and a drink for under $10 is amazing! The burger was perfect, and fries were great. We even tried a vanilla shake...bro, that shake slap harder than Will Smith at an award ceremony! Definitely recommend.

El Primo is a beloved family-owned food truck that has been serving up delicious breakfast tacos, tortas, and burritos for almost twenty years. Located on 1st St from 8 am to 3 pm every day except Sunday, this popular spot offers generous portions at affordable prices. The must-try taco is the flavorful chorizo, egg, and cheese combination. Originally slow to start, El Primo gained fame by focusing on breakfast items suggested by the owner's wife.
The migas taco is so good! The breakfast tacos look small, but they’re filling. Excellent breakfast tacos is one of the things I miss most about living in TX and these really hit the spot.

The place was very well recommended. When I got there there was no one and I wondered if I was at the wrong place. Shortly after I got there there was a long line. The little truck is in front of a very small plaza, it has some parking but there is more on the other side. The lady that took my order was very friendly. I got a breakfast taco; sausage, eggs and cheese and a asada taco. I enjoyed them both very much. I didn’t expect the beef to be shredded but it was a very nice surprise. They were big tacos, very fat… I love that. I thought that it was a good price for what I was getting. I would definitely eat here again.

Everything you’d want from a taco food truck. We split: 2 breakfast tacos (migas and the chorizo & egg), 2 tacos (asada and pastor), then the pastor torta. All were delicious and fresh. The migas breakfast tacos and the pastor taco were favorites, but the torta takes the prize as favorite item! Very friendly place, easy parking, and two large tables (mostly shaded) if you want to sit and eat.

Really great tacos! Large quantities and they offer a variety of flavors. We waited less than 10 min to get our food which considering how packed they were was good. Great place to eat outside on the patio if the weather is nice. Con- parking. We had to around the parking lot several times in hopes someone was pulling out and luckily someone did before we almost gave up and went somewhere else.
Silvia C — Google review
I absolutely love Taco Joint and consider it a staple in my taco rotation. Their breakfast tacos are some of the best in town—packed with flavor, always fresh, and made just the way I like them. The potatoes, in particular, deserve a special mention; they’re perfectly seasoned and have just the right amount of crisp, making every bite memorable. Trust me on the potato, bean and cheese taco. Another must-try is the street taco. No matter when I visit, I can’t resist ordering one, and it never disappoints. It’s the perfect blend of authentic flavor and quality ingredients, which is something Taco Joint consistently gets right. I first discovered Taco Joint at their campus location and was instantly hooked. Now that I frequent the Riverside spot, I can confidently say both locations are equally excellent. The service is friendly and quick, the food always hits the spot, and the atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming, whether I’m dining in or grabbing something to go. Taco Joint has really set the bar for what great tacos should be. With their unbeatable breakfast tacos, legendary variety, and top-notch consistency , there’s simply no better place for a satisfying, delicious meal any time of day. I have been going for 8 years!

I waited too long to try Taco Joint!! Definitely one of Austin’s best taco joints. Tried the Street Taco & Seared Fish Taco - both amazing and stuffed with deliciousness. The prices are great, the staff are the best. Seating inside and out makes it the perfect place to stop in for breakfast or lunch. 5 star all the way! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The tacos had a good flavor, but they are very small to say the least. The pictures posted on the Google profile look big enough to fill their serving trays. But that is not the case for a takeout order. Not sure if I would come back, but if I do I will have to try dine in. I will also share my experience then. Your humble day to day guy.

I’m saying this with my full chest, Taco Joint is without a doubt the best breakfast taco spot in Austin. For starters, they have an almost unfathomable amount of options! They have multiple vegan/vegetarian options and are more than willing to swap any protein for one of the three plant based options. Also sooooo many bevvie options, try mixing horchata and thier house made cold brew! Every single taco I have had from Taco Joint has been SO delicious. My absolute favorite has to be the migas though, soooo well balanced and flavorful. The staff is incredibly friendly, and on most weekdays the wait is almost nonexistent! Absolutely a can’t miss, and right next to Town Lake Trail for a post breakfast walk:)

Loved this place! Drove by and had to turn around to go in. Got 3 tacos and they filled me up, very generous with meat and cheese! I'll definitely stop by this place again next time I am in Austin !!
Mike E — Google review
A very unassuming taco place. Taco Joint is a fitting name. I would describe the place as well-worn. When sitting outside in the AM sit away from the downspouts that may drip on you. That out of the way, the food was great! The tacos as the perfect size and the quesadilla was enough to fill both my kids. I really liked the 420 and the habanero salsa was perfect. Really spicy, but not so hot you would only eat it on a dare. The mole and cabbage taco was also good, but I like my mole more smokey than sweet. This was a touch sweet for me, but still good. If I lived in Austin I would make this a regular stop. At least now I know where to get bfast next year before ACL!

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a long-standing chain known for its spicy fried chicken and comforting sides, all served in a casual atmosphere. Located in downtown Austin, this southern staple offers a variety of chicken options including white meat, dark meat, and tenders alongside delectable sides. Customers rave about the juicy and delicious chicken with a Memphis-style spicy flavor and perfect crust.
I’ve got a peanut allergy so I had to ask the chef about the peanut oil (refined oil is usually a green light)! Not only are the staff absolute sweethearts, but the food knocked it out of the park. The chicken had a thin batter was so oh so crispy and the chicken itself was very juicy. The beans and Mac and cheese are awesome! Fried okra (a first for us at the table) was a favorite. This spot has been around for a reason, love love love it.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is what I will dream about for the rest of my life. I'm not being funny when I tell you, emphatically, that Gus' fried chicken is the hands-down BEST friend chicken, mac and cheese and collard greens that I've ever had the joy of eating. The chicken is moist and spicy on the inside, and is perfectly crispy and thin on the outside. I could devour the creamy mac and cheese by the poundful. The Greens were perfect - perfectly cooked and well balanced between the salt, pork and greens flavors. I also tried the Fried Okra which was amazing. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a meal at Gus'! I would plan another trip back to Austin just to eat here again - I'm not kidding, it was THAT good!

If you're looking for some delicious fried chicken, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Downtown Austin is the perfect lunch spot! It's a small and simple shop with friendly staff, and they prepare your food quickly. We ordered the four-piece chicken meal, which included tender chicken, crispy French fries, and okra, along with a two-piece white chicken. Everything was fantastic! The breading on both the fried chicken and the chicken tenders was amazing, and both were cooked to perfection, leaving the chicken moist on the inside. The fried okra was nice and crispy, and the seasoned fries had a little kick to them. Overall, the flavors were incredible, and we highly recommend trying this place!
Victor J — Google review
The chicken didn’t look great at first but ended up tasting amazing—crispy skin and juicy inside. Fries were also really good. I didn’t like the coleslaw (too sweet). Service was fast and friendly. Great spot for flavorful fried chicken without heavy sauce.
Heather R — Google review
Ordered a 3 piece dark meal and it was delicious. Chicken was crispy and lightly spicy, proper moist and tender. Opted for m&c rather than slaw, which was on point, a little paprika on top of tender pasta with creamy balanced cheese sauce. The beans are good, nice counter to the other flavors on the plate. Why did i wait this long to go here?
Donovan L — Google review
Love this old school style restaurant. The fried chicken is amazing straight up. I didnt try the sauces at all, Gus's has four to choose from, the chicken has a dry rub kinda taste to it that is slightly spicy hot. Chicken is not overly breaded, a plus for me. Downtown Austin location with a pay for parking lot beside it. Only ordered the chicken to try, did not try any of the sides or desserts. Very cool 50's style dinner vibe to it. Staff is pleasant to communicate with and make sure your experience us a good one. Recommend this restaurant for fried chicken.
Dallas T — Google review
Chicken was very tender, very juicy and very very good. It was a bit smaller than what I thought it would be. But they do say all natural chicken. Now there is a kick. Obviously because it is hot and spicy fried Chicken. I think the only problem was when you finish all the chickens. The okra seems a little bland also the coleslaw. The store itself is very eclectic. The shop felt like a really old school ice cream pop kind of feel.
Kats F — Google review
The chicken is FANTASTIC, we will definitely be coming back! There is just a little spice to the batter and it is perfect! The corn nuggets and Mac and cheese were really yummy. The fries were okay, I prefer mine to be fried a little bit longer, still good. I was not a fan of the ranch but the honey mustard was good. The service was really fast even with every table being full and they were down a server. The staff was super friendly and it was a really good experience!

Gourdough's is a renowned donut shop in Austin, known for its extravagant and indulgent donuts that often require utensils to eat. The menu offers a wide variety of unique flavors and toppings, such as the Elvis with caramelized bananas, bacon, and peanut butter. While the prices are on the higher side at around $8 per donut, the experience is well worth it for those seeking a memorable dessert.
Loved this place! Definitely want to go back! Food was absolutely incredible! I was really surprised because I’ve never had a burger on a doughnut before and was really skeptical but when it came out everything looked amazing and tasted just as good! The service was on point we didn’t sit with empty cups she cleared the empty dishes promptly. So much to see and do in Austin and this place is a must go to!
Trisha V — Google review
I came into town for a visit and was recommended Gourdough’s as a late-night treat. I tried both a savory donut and a sweet one. The sweet donuts were definitely the highlight. Great structure, fluffy texture, and really nice flavor. For the savory side, I ordered the Ron Burgundy. Unfortunately, it fell a bit flat. The beef lacked seasoning, the sauce was overly messy, and by the time I got it, the donut had gone soggy. As for service: ordering online was easy, but the wait was frustrating. Our order showed as “in progress” for over an hour, and when we finally went to check, the donuts were already sitting there ready, no call or notification. It left me wondering how long they’d been waiting. Overall, worth stopping in for the sweet creations, but I’d pass on the savory.
Johana — Google review
This is quite possibly the best donut I’ve ever had. I went for the first time this past week and wow! A fun little spot with plenty of seating and some shade as well. Lots of food options and the donuts big and made right there on the spot! My only gripe was the service. I stood at the window for almost 5 minutes before anybody even acknowledged I was there. The workers saw me, but never engaged. Maybe ordering ahead is recommended?
William O — Google review
I ordered the strawberry shortcake donut and it was so good. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cute. I'll have to stop by next time I'm in Austin.
Autumn W — Google review
I wanted to love this spot, but it donut meet my expectations; especially for $9. Arrived at 10, so maybe friers weren’t quite warmed up yet since they just opened. Despite being 2nd in line, the donut took close to 15 minutes to come out. Crispness was on point, but flavor was too mild and underwhelming. Honey butter tasted too much like oil, and lacked sweetness. Nothing against Gourdough’s- but parking price was wildly high.
Lauren K — Google review
These people are out of their minds! They make nonsense donuts in a stationary Airstream in a parking lot surrounded by tables. Fortunately, they come in two sizes: small and large. The large size is impossible to deal with, and it would especially be impossible to eat more than one. So, I ordered three small ones and had them with the usual American coffee. The first one is called the "Blackout Donut" and is made with brownie batter, chocolate fudge icing, and chocolate-covered brownie bites topped with chocolate syrup. It is a chocolate lover's dream! It's an addictive dessert you won't want to be without. The second, the "Fat Elvis" (the name says it all!), is made with homemade peanut butter icing, fresh grilled bananas, and grilled bacon with honey. It's an ode to fatness, with the grilled bananas blending with the soft peanut butter, which is contrasted by the crisp bacon. A bit of honey mixes it all together, making everything fatter and more mouthwatering. The third, perhaps the simplest, is the "Nutty Valentine Nutella," made with fresh strawberries and cinnamon sugar. After the first two, it sounds almost healthy, but it's not! They are three taste bombs, not only because of the ingredients, but also because of the doughnuts themselves. They are really well made, tasty, and crunchy—really yummy! I'm sorry I haven't tasted any others.
Doncariello — Google review
For some reason, I thought these would be yeast-based donuts, but instead they are very much cake based and thick as ever. Good donuts...the toppings are what distinguish these donuts, otherwise, the dough itself is nothing special and very thick and cake-ey. We ordered the banana pudding donut and the breakfast donut sandwich. Recommend for a one or two time check out!

If you have a sweet tooth this donut spot will definitely do the job. Donuts batter they use is amazing! Seating is cute and plenty. They have really improved the environment experience. We got: The BlackOut - orgasmic overload of chocolate (I'm a chocolate lover) Free Bird- delicious with a great touch of strawberries. Both definitely recommend. Well, eat up and enjoy!

Ramen Tatsu-ya is a popular noodle house and bar in Austin, known for its funky vibe and classic ramen dishes with a variety of topping options. The restaurant offers delicious and filling ramen bowls that are a must-try for both locals and visitors. Despite the small size, the inviting atmosphere includes additional booth seating outside. Customers can customize their orders with add-ons like corn bomb or spicy chili bomb, as well as extra veggies.
We went with a mostly vegan group and everyone found a great option—everything was delicious and abundant. I had the NU SKOOL vegan ramen (almond milk broth, tofu, mushrooms… the whole deal) and the curry rice bowl—both super tasty. We also shared some edamame to start. Staff was really nice, water was easy to grab, and each table had a little center with napkins, utensils, everything you needed! Chill vibes, good food, and super vegan-friendly. Would totally go back.

Great ramen restaurant in Round Rock. The No. 4 Spicy Bowl was perfectly cooked and had the right amount of heat. The portion was large so I had to take away the rest. My cousin has the No. 2 Pork Bowl which was a tad bit too salty. Service was excellent; staff were friendly and nice. I will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Better than expected. Great decor, staffs are happy. It's mostly self serve. High chairs aren't at table height, quite difficult for younger kids toe at but the food was good. 👍🏻

We had a great dinner experience at the Ramen Tatsu-ya (North Austin)! The atmosphere here is lively and energetic- the place is constantly buzzing with activity. Despite how busy it was, we were impressed with the speed; we got our order in less than 10 minutes, which is amazing. RAMEN was enjoyable and solid- quite comparable to other good ramen spots. CHASHU RICE BOWL was tasty and the perfect size for a satisfying, smaller dinner. STRAWBERRY YUZU LEMONADE was refreshing and perfectly balanced, definitely not too sweet. They also offer a great selection of adult beverages, including beer and hot sake. The dishes are very reasonably priced. (We noticed the music playlist was certainly interesting, varying from Pimpinela to Hum, which just added to the unique vibe!)

Got the Miso-hot and the Shoy-me(think I spelled it right) and went with the suggestions from Ben. Spicy edamame was so good I added the sauce to my ramen bowl! Fast, friendly service. Solid atmosphere and a great chat with the GM. He even gave us a recommendation for when we go back home to NC!

This was a good place! We ordered the chicken karaage, sho-yu tonkotsu, and the mi-so-not. Our order came out about 10 seconds after we put it in. Somehow, in that time, borne the chasu in the sho-yu and the karaage were overcooked, the noodles and the broth of both noodle dishes were excellent. The sauce the karaage came with was pretty good too. The restroom was cool too. It looked like something out of a Japanese horror film in a good way. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.
Alex H — Google review
We had a fairly average experience. Nothing was really good or anything, but everything was alright. Nothing bad. It just exist. We got the Shoyu, the miso not, and a croquette. I didn't particularly care for that last item, but it wasn't bad. It just wasn't for me.
Bryan M — Google review
My first time here, and I had such a great experience! I really liked the setup—you order at the counter, and then they bring the food to your table. The service was super quick, which was perfect because we were starving! The chicken bites were warm and absolutely delicious, and the ramen was packed with flavor and just amazing. We added the spice bombs for an extra kick, and they were perfect! Highly recommend this spot!

P. Terry's Burger Stand #1 is a laid-back spot known for its all-natural beef burgers, crispy shoestring fries, and creamy milkshakes. It's not just about lunch - they also serve up breakfast options. This burger joint is a must-visit in Austin, offering some of the best burgers around, along with fresh-cut potatoes, hand-spun milkshakes, and homemade cookies.
After an afternoon of fun at the ABC Kite Fest, we grew a little appetite. I spotted this P.Terry’s while we were parked across the street before we headed to Zilker. Once we came back to the car our friends also noticed it, to which we made the unanimous decision that we have to go. Safe to say P Terry’s will always be a move.(:

Tried the Veggie burger on wheat bun for lunch & it was soft & melted in the mouth. Usually veggie burgers are little hard & make your mouth dry but this burger was very delicious. One of the best veggie burger I have ever had and the price is quite reasonable. A must try for all burger lovers!

The best fast food in Austin. We love everything here and the walk window is so nice so you can bring your dog. Great outdoor seating and free parking.

Great burgers as always, fries needed some salt, but otherwise alright. I'm not a big fan of their fries in general, but their burgers, shakes, and drinks are great. Drive through or walk up only, so very little parking and it's a place to take food to go unlike other P. Terrys.

Neat burger joint with pretty great burgers at solid prices, fries could use some work (not bad, but not great).

We stopped by for lunch(ish). It was wonderful, quick, and great prices. The young man who helped us, also was aware this was our first visit. He was so kind & helpful. He suggested the sauce(yum) to dip those delicious, piping hot fries in(Thank You, again). He also threw in some of those taste bud dripping oatmeal chocolate chip cookies...OMG, get some cookies!! It was a great experience!! I would recommend and can't wait to revisit myself ♡♡♡

I ordered this on a whim through Door Dash. I’m visiting Austin from San Diego and had never heard of P. Terry’s. It was GREAT! It’s like Austin’s version of In N Out. Everything tasted super fresh. The Omelettry is a beloved old-school diner in Austin that has been serving up signature omelets, pancakes, and lunch classics since 1978. Frequented by college students and families, this wood-decked space recently extended its hours to accommodate dinner service. While known for their cheesy omelets and chocolate-chip pancakes, the diner also plans to introduce a dinner menu soon.
The is a classic breakfast restaurant with a bit of an Austin flair. The interior has this mom-n-pop feel with aprons hanging on the windows for ambiance. The staff are super nice and friendly and got us a table right away. I had the black olive omelette with sourdough toast and my wife had eggs and sausage. Generous portions and it was super delicious! One thing I really liked was the Dr Seuss Green Eggs and Ham mural on the wall. Overall the price is very reasonable and I would definitely come back again.
Snarkyguy — Google review
The atmosphere of this place is definitely a traditional diner. The food was good. I loved the French toast, and the omelets are definitely a good item to pick. I wasn't especially impressed by the drinks, but there were the normal breakfast drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are definitely longer wait times later in the day so I suggest going early. In all, it was a nice place for breakfast.
Elliot D — Google review
The portions here are insanely huge!! Literally have a whole meal for later today. Service was awesome and they served us so fast. Definitely felt like my grandma was back there in the kitchen making a very nice homey meal. 10/10 would come back again
Krystal R — Google review
This eatery is the quintessential Austin breakfast place. The classic menu is easy - breakfast and not breakfast. Options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks. All the wants for a meal to get your day going, or refuel for more Austin adventures. Either seat-yourself when not busy, or signup on a piece of paper. Once you’re seated, a friendly server will come get you drinks and give you time to acquaint yourself with the menu. After you’ve gotten your drinks and discovered your flavor of the day, you’re told the food will be out soon. In less than 15 minutes, you go from walking in to having hot food. After having every single thing on the menu - breakfast and not - there is nothing bad or middle-of-the-road. Pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, nachos, soups, and of course omelettes - every single one is perfection in food form. Coupling your meal with strong coffee, delicious orange juice, and crisp Austin water, you will be full and happy when your plate is clean. Simple payment with cash or card, and bagged coffee next to the register, and you’re off on your day. The tables are covered with colorful and sturdy wrapping, there is space for more or less chairs, wheelchair-accessible in the entire place, and they have multiple kinds of high-chairs for kids. Make a stop here and relish in what Austin really is - a weird and welcoming place for all.

Overall really good . I went with my son for pancakes ironically and they turned out to be some of the best I've had recently . The atmosphere was charming diner style and the servers were polite .

The Omelettry is a true Austin classic — the kind of breakfast spot that instantly feels like home. The vibe is warm and unpretentious, with a mix of locals and visitors all here for one thing: great food. Their omelets are fluffy and packed with flavor, and the banana pancakes are some of the best in town — perfectly golden and just the right amount of sweetness. The service is always friendly and relaxed, and even when there’s a wait, it’s worth every minute. You can taste the care that goes into everything, from the fresh coffee to the homemade salsa. A must-visit for anyone who loves hearty, feel-good breakfast in Austin!
Deborah H — Google review
This was a fun and quirky place with a line out the door on a mild Saturday afternoon in February. Plan ahead for the wait time, even past the traditional "peak" times. The wait was well worth it. I was a solo diner, so I gladly sat at the bar. The wall was covered with silly and impressive drawings that incorporated an egg into the main picture, which was fun to look at while I waited. The fresh coffee was absolutely phenomenal - I had more than I could probably handle, and yet I wish I could've paid to take a pot's worth with me. The food reached the very edge of the plate and was a wonderful combination of modern brunch trends and homestyle service. I mean, an eggs Benedict with white queso? Yes PLEASE. If you're ever in the Austin area looking for top quality breakfast and are ready to eat enough for 3 days in a great atmosphere, come to the Omelettry and thank me later.
Bonnie L — Google review
The Omeletry is on my rotation list for breakfast/brunch (note: they close et 3 pm) Food: I tried different (3 eggs) omelets but my favorite is the Popeyes omelet, stuffed with spinach, bacon and their special blend of cheeses. Topped with sour cream. I always as for their Caliente salsa. It complement this dish perfectly. It comes with a choice of dide dishes. Add to that bottomless coffee and you have a satisfying meal for about $20.00 (plus tip) It's hard to find such filling quality food for that price in Austin these days. The food is always very fresh and hot, and the service is prompt and friendly by a young staff. No wonder this place is always packed. I happily regularly come back every month. Chef Alain Braux

Torchy's Tacos is a popular chain known for its creative and affordable Mexican street-food-style tacos, including breakfast options. The restaurant originated from a successful food truck and has since expanded throughout the city. It offers a menu filled with inventive taco varieties, such as green chile pork, fried avocado, and Baja shrimp. Additionally, their Texas-style tacos featuring brisket, smoked sausage, and fried avocado are highly praised.
Service at the bar and food area was great. The staff went above and beyond and found a pair of sunglasses I left behind. The atmosphere is hip, and they have happy hour drink and food specials. We bought margaritas, which were good but not overly strong. We like the Democrat taco option the best - yummy brisket and traditional toppings. The fried avocado taco was nicely done. I would definitely recommend!!

These are the most fire tacos I’ve had at a chain restaurant. Only place in Austin we ate twice on our 5 day trip! There is definitely a lot of good food in Austin but these tacos… 🔥

Just a usual chain taco shop, not a fancy special taco shop. We didn't know this place wasn't an authentic taco shop as tourists! 😞 Food was just okay, but far from great. You'd better not pick this place if you're looking for a great taco place.

Tacos I’d say are mid, nothing mind blowing. Creative flavors, but otherwise wouldn’t say was anything amazing. I got the steak fajita taco, migos breakfast taco, a fried chicken taco, and the street corn. Street corn was very good actually and highly recommend it. Steak was a little bit tough for the steak fajita one. The fried chicken was ok, just a chicken finger inside a flour tortilla. This restaurant is a tad bit expensive for her it is. I paid $21 for 3 tacos and a half order of street corn. Tacos are about $6 each, a little pricey for what it is if you ask me. Environment was nice and clean. Restaurant is serviceable if you want a quick reliable meal that’s convenient. Otherwise, nothing to really write home about.

Did we spot Bruce Willis in front of Torchy’s? Anyways, back to Torchy’s. Danni and Moses were very helpful and I was excited to try The Republican gluten free and dairy free (because of Danni’s expertise). It was smoky and not fatty. Loved it. The boys liked the swivel chairs. Great spot to go to when visiting the library.

We sat at the bar and were finally served a drink, but then completely ignored for over 10 minutes. I eventually had to go up to the counter to order. The staff was rude and unhelpful, the food was mediocre at best, and the drinks were just bad. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for and won’t be returning.

Delicious food, charming atmosphere, excellent service. I’ve eaten here a few times and have enjoyed each dish. Good portions, fair pricing, fresh ingredients that make the food taste very homemade and comforting. The vermicelli bowl and green curry are excellent; banh mi and pad thai are also very good. The complimentary soup when you dine in is simple and delicious, a very nice touch. Staff are kind and occasionally give out freebies! The desserts look great, but I’m always too full to try them. Next time… Thank you NG cafe!

Came for Vietnamese, ended up getting pad Thai instead because I couldn't resist. The place is super cute and quirky, love the decorations and the ambience! Unfortunately the pad Thai was just alright. It's really hard to go wrong with pad Thai so no matter what it's gonna still be good, just compared to any other pad Thai I've had, this was probably the least good. All of that is hard to say because the staff were extremely friendly and kind, they gave my girlfriend and I egg drop soup with our orders as well as some bread as we were about to leave, not sure if that was normally included or if they were just being generous (I think they were being generous). I'm sure there are better things on the menu but I just couldn't pass up the pad Thai. I'll definitely be coming again to try something else in hopes of giving them five stars!

We tried this for the first time, we have to order on the kiosk right after entering. They served a complimentary hot and sour/egg drop soups per dish. We ordered house fried rice, Jalapeno chicken. They tasted good, but portion size is less when compared with other restaurants with the same price. Overall, they tasted decent and good ambiance and friendly staff.

Absolutely delicious bánh mì. The bread was light and crunchy and the tofu had a sweet and delicious coating. We got their house mayo which added a fantastic flavor and the pickled carrot added an excellent crunch. I also appreciated the spicy from the jalapeño. The lovely woman at the counter offered us a sesame bun on the house since it was our first time. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy a meal because the interior is really cute and cozy.

We stopped by here for a quick dinner before a recent Friday night high school football game. Little did I realize that this café is run by the same family that originally ran Hao Hao in Round Rock, where I used to eat on a regular basis when I lived there. I had the Singapore noodles with beef, hot and sour soup plus a spring roll. My wife had the shrimp fried rice. Everything was so fresh tasting, light and delicious. We got a box of the lemon cookies to go. They are also the bomb! Even though we live in Georgetown, we'll find a reason to revisit this café on a frequent basis. Next time I'll take pics and post them to this review.

10/10 no notes - everything was amazing; we got the beef noodle soup, the pad see ew, and the matcha lemonade as well as the hot chrysanthemum tea. Our mains came with a side of soup - choice of egg drop soup or hot and sour soup - both were amazing. The pad see ew was the best I’ve had in the austin area - the noodles were perfect, not overdone or underdone. Everything exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect choice for a quick lunch out. Service was quick and the staff were so friendly. We’ll definitely be back :)

Easily of my favorite spots in Austin. Service is always so so friendly and kind, food is delicious, and their restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. We got the bun cha Hà Nội and the beef vermicelli bowl and I love how light these dishes are while still being filling. The bun cha patties were perfectly grilled and SO yummy, noodles were perfectly cooked, nuoc Cham had very good flavor. Egg soup is also a nice pre meal aperitif. If you like lemon, do not skip on their lemon cookies. They are perfect in every single way. The texture is seriously unparalleled and the flavor…wow. Soft and fluffy and good lemon flavor without being too tart or too sweet. Will be back many times😎

Good tacos with high quality protein. They are pricey and not that big, but they are packed with flavor and made perfectly. I had a triplet of a scallop, shrimp, and pork belly taco. The seafood tacos were good but the pork belly was something else. Worth the price to try and to treat yourself once and awhile. They have daily specials as well, which is how I got the scallop taco. The seating indoor was very limited, but some outdoor seating and a small pavilion on the other side of the parking lot. Good taco spot overall, nothing over the top but still left satisfied.

My husband and I stopped by Tacodeli for the first time, and we were both really impressed! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the tacos we tried had something special about it. We really enjoyed the variety on the menu and how well the flavors came together. It’s clear that quality ingredients and care go into the food here. The only small thing we noticed was that the flour tortillas could be cooked just a little more. It’s minor compared to how good everything else was. Overall, our first impression was excellent.

INCREDIBLE!! We are visiting from the east coast and needed somewhere to stop before we leave, I came across this place just looking for food on Google and saw all the other great reviews and figured we should stop here. Thank goodness we did!! It was packed with locals and working men, and we knew that was a good sign. We were seated within 10 minutes, drinks and chips with the best tasting spicy salsa I’ve had our whole trip, and the food came out in less than 10-15mins. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! We recommended it to our friends that live here, and WILL be back on our next visit. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Best authentic Mexican food we’ve tried in Austin so far since moving here three months ago. I’m so happy we ran into this place on a Friday because their chicken mole Friday special was THE BEST THING EVER. Most tender chicken thigh you’ll ever have. Their chips and salsa dip was also amazing along with the staff’s hospitality. VISIT NOW!

The service was amazing, under a 10 minute wait even though it was very busy and we were expecting a 20+ min wait. Staff is very kind and quick. Food was so delicious 😋 we got the migas plate and the chori-migas plate. We tried both the corn and flour tortillas and they were all right. Looking at all the other dishes in the restaurant made me want to order everything. Atmosphere has low volume music due to the restaurant bustle which is good, its a cozy atmosphere. I'd be a regular if I lived closer.

From the bars on the windows to the 26 year old building, this spot is everything ‘old Austin…’ it’s a small joint that stays busy, so you might have to wait, but it’s worth it. We've been coming here for years now and love everything about Habanero's. I can't vouch for everything on the menu, but that's because I always order the machacado breakfast plate. Nothing fancy just consistently good with shakes that taste like the strawberries were just picked that day to be churned into ice cream. Tonight, same food, but I sat in their hickory/bbq sauce on my seat…yuck! Yes, I should have looked but I was busy chatting with the rest of my party. I’m sure I’ll be back… but fyi, watch where you sit

Alright, alright, alright these charcoal hamburgers are dang good!!! Not only is this place amazing but is in the movie Dazed and Confused. Love the atmosphere takes you on a blast to the past and the staff is also super friendly and helpful. They saw I was taking photos so also gave me a few stickers as well as a souvenir ❤️

Fantastic charcoal grilled burger. Chocolate malt was perfect. Beer battered onion to wings were also great. Staff was efficient and nice. Oldie but a goodie.

This is not going to be a popular review. The restroom and the eating area was not as clean as I would like. The staff were very nice and sweet. We had no issues getting what we ordered which was fried chicken with french fries and fried okra, a cheeseburger with onion rings. And then we had two chocolate milkshakes. The hamburger was okay, a little bit between a Whataburger and a P terries. The fried Chicken taste was good but the chicken meat was not as hot as it should have been and it seemed like it had been sitting under the warmer for a bit too long, by which I mean it was a little dried out for fried chicken. I don't like things spicy but it was also even a bland seasoning for me. The onion rings were amazing, big hot thick juicy onion with a delicious coating. The fries were the type I like, but they just weren't hot enough and not really very fresh. The fried okra was good . The chocolate milkshake was delicious. The food was fairly expensive for what we had. We paid a little over $50 including the milkshakes. We also had two sodas.

a 70's drive-in or dine-in place I randomly found. I ordered a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. quite "Top Notch" in my opinion (other than the fact that the patty was thin, however this is "fast food" so it reduces cooking time). Despite the reputation that fast food attracts, low quality and all, this place did not fail my expectations. I have read some reviews talking about how the food was mediocre but do you really expect quality from fast food? Another note, you can't compare this to better quality fast food restaurants such as In-N-Out because the presentation of the restaurant and the food is truly unique. It's one of the best fast food places I've found in Austin so far and I will come back when I get the chance. edit: The food somehow did not make me feel sick afterwards. Odd considering many fast food places typically do Cheeseburger: 8/10 Sweet potato fries: 7.4/10 $11.13 + tip (eesh....)

the food is always great. made to order and very fresh. onion rings are excellent and the chocolate shakes are very tasty. I usually order the number 2 combo. My favorite. however, yesterday I ordered the spicy burger. It just might be my new favorite.

Nestled in the charming Crestview neighborhood of Austin, Little Deli & Pizzeria is a delightful hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of Jersey-style cuisine. This cozy deli features a mouthwatering selection of specialty pizzas and an array of hot and cold sandwiches, making it a favorite among locals.
Little Deli has been my favorite neighborhood place for more than a decade. The corned beef, pastrami, and chicken salad are fantastic. The pizza is good but not as good as the corned beef. The restaurant is very small with only maybe half a dozen tables inside. There is some outdoor seating which is great in the fall in the spring, but not so much in the winter or the summer!
Steve T — Google review
Was recommended this place by a fellow New Yorker and was told that the pizza here is the closest I would find to NYC pizza here in Austin. And it probably is! The atmosphere is really chill. The service was fast and there were a lot of people here which is always a good sign! The pizza was really good. Not quite NYC, but the crust was good, red sauce was okay and just wish had a little more cheese on the cheese pizza.
Charlise W — Google review
Love the thin crust! Not sure if it's stone baked but we had half pepperoni and half margherita! Reuben sandwich and Greek salad! Great way to spend quality foodie time with my fellow foodie queen friends! We had a great time we stayed, dined and just had amazing time. Service was cool, people mostly take out and the outdoor area looked cool. Simple yet worthwhile.
MC S — Google review
Very solid pizza and sandwiches! The cheese on the pizza has a nice robust, strong flavor (romano, perhaps?). It also holds up well when you fold it 🤌 They have a good amount of (outdoor) seating

My mom works in the area and I was meeting her for lunch, we were both craving a sub and chose this place specifically because they also serve pizza which is perfect because I have a four-year-old and one year-old who love pizza. When we first pulled up, we almost left because it looked super packed outside and being 39 weeks pregnant, I didn’t know if I could handle the heat but ended up deciding to stay after finding a table in the shade and that was probably the best decision I made that day. I think this might be the best sub I have ever had and I love me a sub. All of their ingredients seemed high-quality. I got the club sub which comes with turkey ham, bacon, and provolone. they’re bacon was perfect. I’ve been to many places where the bacon is just OK. I definitely plan on coming back to this place. The pizza by the slice was also good 10 out of 10 if you’re in the area this place is worth trying.
Chantel C — Google review
Love stopping here for a great Italian sub. Whole menu is amazing. Quick kind service, order at the counter. Fresh deli sides, fountain, cans, glass bottle sodas. Kille cookies, and cake slices, carrot cake to die for. Quite a few tables inside, plenty of patio & picnic tables, gazebo garden for kids to play around. Family friendly and relaxing neighborhood spot for takeout.

My wife and I went to Little Deli after doing some shopping on Burnet Road. We've been back twice since our initial visit because the food is incredible! Fresh ingredients, hefty portions, and taste explosions! We usually can't decide between the pizza or the sandwiches, so we get a half a sandwich each, share a slice, and take the rest home for lunch the next day. Go visit this little slice of heaven, you won't regret it!
Kevin L — Google review
Decent pizza. We tried it because it is on so many 10 best pizza lists. That may have set our expectation a bit high. Crust was very good. Sauce a bit sweet and too thick for our taste. We topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and bell peppers. Again decent - but toppings were mild / lacked saltiness? I suspect the sweet sauce and would order “extra light” on the sauce next time. Service at the counter / they bring it out to you. Very polite and attentive. We sat outside in the shade comfortably. Pleasant neighborhood atmosphere. Lots of to go orders it seemed. If your taste is on the sweeter side you might love it. Crust is easily a top 10!

P. Terry's Burger Stand is a popular fast food spot in Austin known for its all-natural beef burgers, shoestring fries, and milkshakes. With multiple locations across the city, it offers both sit-in and drive-through options. Customers have been pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of their cheeseburgers and fried chicken sandwiches, which are reasonably priced and come in normal sizes. The restaurant also offers delivery services with affordable prices through platforms like Door Dash.
P Terry’s has the BEST veggie burger of all fast food places I’ve tried. All the way - but I always ADD PICKLES & MUSTARD bc it doesn’t come with them! They make it so much better. The veggie burger is made with good ingredients like brown rice and cremini mushrooms. The fries are nice and crispy nowadays, and the special sauce is good. Only thing is I wish they made the cookies softer at this location but they’re still pretty good!
Shan O — Google review
I visit Austin often from Ohio and normally get Whataburger or In-N-Out. This was my first time trying P Terry's and will definitely be back when I visit again!!! Cheesy greasy burger! Yummmm! Just wish the onions I added were sliced and not diced. No biggie tho. Lol. The cheeseburger is very similar to In-N-Out but maybbeeee a tad better....? Fries aren't as great, but still yummy! Also recommend their oreo shake. Service was also fast for dinner time! Wish we had this place back home :(

I am transitioning from being chronically homeless for five years, primarily due to a severe case of Substance Use Disorder. I frequented a homeless camp not far from here and am so happy to be a paying customer! P. Terry's is a place prior to being homeless I enjoyed, while homeless l, and now able to sit down and think back to how far God has brought me. God Bless P. Terry's for bringing excellent food and service to Austin and being friendly to all of the mosaic that makes up this city. P.S. The DR. Pepper shake is amazing!

I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake. I had to go back home to get my card and I returned to get it. They had my name as “no money” and gave me the same cold and old food. My milkshake was runny and completely melted. I called to address it with the manager who denied it and she said “what do you want, to remake it?” In a very rude tone. They also giggled when giving me the bag. This is the worst customer service ever. I eat here frequently as this is my favorite restaurant but I will never eat here again.

This is the best PTerrys. Their fries are always sizzling hot—fried hot and served just right. Their sandwhiches are always great. And the folks running the place are so friendly. I love this one. Thank you to all of you. Always a great experience! Hits the spot.

It's a casual sandwich experience with sustainable farmed fish tortas, steak sandwiches served on Easy Tiger sourdough, and the BLT with avocado as favourites. Outdoor and indoor seating is available and street parking is typically easy to find.

I’ve been looking for a place just like this for quite some time! Cute casual cafe in an old house. Really tasty sandwiches. Fast service. Fairly priced. Went at 1pm on a Saturday and waited about 10 minutes but was able to snag a seat inside. Will definitely go back
Kaity R — Google review
We stopped here because it looked nice on the reviews , got a chicken classic and a chicken with eggplant both were sandwiches and they were soooooo good and they have a nice outside seating area. The only disappointment was that it comes with a skimpy side cucumber salad and NO chips, you have to purchase them separately. For over $12.00 for a great sandwich you would think they give you a less then $1 chip bag. 😜

⭐⭐⭐ 3 out of 5 stars FoodHeads – Austin, TX FoodHeads is a cool little spot with a cozy, homey vibe and nice seating. The place definitely has that local Austin charm. It’s on the pricier side, but overall we enjoyed our visit. That said, I walked away still feeling hungry and when you spend around $60 for two people, you kind of expect to leave full. The sandwiches don’t come with chips, so you’re just getting the sandwich unless you order sides separately. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it it just didn’t hit the mark for me. My wife had the Apple Pork Tenderloin and Chicken Pozole Soup, and she absolutely loved both. Like she said, it’s not really a BBQ place, so I probably expected something it’s not meant to be. One downside: they didn’t have ice for the drinks. When my wife asked, the staff said they’d get some, but it never came. It’s a small thing, but still disappointing. Also, make sure to grab extra napkins you only get one, and the food can get messy. 🧾 FoodHeads – Austin, TX Order for Two: 1. Apple Pork Tenderloin — $11.95 2. Chicken Pozole (Cup) — $4.25 3. Pulled Pork Sandwich — $11.95 4. Snickerdoodle Cookies (2) — $4.00 5. Sweet Tea (2) — $6.00 6. Fruit Cup — $4.25 Subtotal: $42.40 Tax (8.25%): $3.50 Tip (25%): $11.48 💰 Grand Total: $57.38

My company uses FoodHeads all the time for our catering needs. They’ve been a great vendor for us over the years. Very prompt with their deliveries. We either do their box lunches if we have a smaller group or their deconstructed sandwich platters for larger groups. Their sandwiches are very yummy. My favorite being their chicken caesar sandwich. It’s so good. I still haven’t been to their actual location here in town but I need to give it a visit some time!

Looks like a home which may have seen better times at first. But once inside transforms into a very cozy and quaint place. Refreshing change from conventional settings. We ordered two vegetarian sandwiches. Both tasted great with fresh ingredients and delightful condiments. Atmosphere is great with students, makes one. Energetic. Love this place and will go back.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and my wife ordered the chicken and eggplant sandwich. She thoroughly enjoyed every bite of her sandwich and even shared it with some friends. She highly recommends it. My sandwich was good. I was happy with the ciabatta bread and the meat had a slight spice to it that was good. I did really enjoy the atmosphere both inside and outside. Be sure to check out their specials.

The food was well portioned, fresh and most importantly, tasted amazing!!! I ordered the salmon salad and BLT sandwich. Both exceeded my expectations! Not only was the food amazing, the staff was on top of their game too. In the short time, while waiting for my food, I interacted with 4 friendly/welcoming staff members. I enjoyed my overall experience and can only recommend to stop by and try it for yourself!

Barbecue restaurant
Interstellar BBQ is a popular Northwest Austin spot known for its delicious BBQ beef, pork, sausages, sandwiches, and flavorful side dishes. The restaurant has gained recognition for its innovative menu offerings such as the peach tea-glazed pork belly and smoked scalloped potatoes. Led by experienced industry veterans John Bates and Brandon Martinez, the establishment constantly introduces fresh ideas to its menu while staying true to classic Texas barbecue flavors.
Such a great spot. Went on a random Wednesday I had free around lunchtime. They open at 11, I arrived at 11:45 - already a big wait, which is well deserved. We waited around 45 minutes before getting to the ordering counter. Was able to get brisket, the peach tea pork belly, and sausage (brisket sold out maybe around 1 pm). Highly recommend that pork belly and brisket. They were unbelievable. The Mac and cheese was amazing and we also got some pinto beans which were not on the menu but they had!
M H — Google review
We took a BBQ vaca to Texas this week and we tried Leroy and Lewis, Burnt Bean and Interstellar. I don’t even know how Texas Monthly ranks these places. They’re all so good and each one excels in their own unique ways. Will have plenty to munch on as leftovers tonight, but everything we ate was amazing. I think from my opinion Interstellar is set apart because they balance the rich flavors or the meats with fresh and vibrant sauces. Probably why the short rib with chimichurri, lamb taco and piripiri chicken were my best bites of the week! Sooooo so good! You guys are killing it and your sides were all my favorite of the week too! Everything pictured: Lamb Taco (best taco I’ve ever had!) Brisket Pork ribs Beef ribs with chimichurri (favorite bite) Peach tea glazed pork belly Jalapeno popper sausage Piri piri chicken (2nd favorite bite) Scallop potatoes (so good) Cream corn (wowza!) Gouda mac Jalapeno slaw (favorite side) Banana pudding (solid banana pudding) Peach cobbler rice pudding (not too sweet and packed with flavor) #interstellarbbq #texastop50bbq

Yes I had doubts. I thought bbq is bbq. But I was wrong and this is the BEST bbq spot I’ve been to. The pork belly was SO good and unique. The peach tea glaze complemented the meat so well. The duck leg special was just as amazing. Also get the sides. I love potatoes so if you love potatoes you’ll love the scalloped potatoes. Now don’t skip on dessert either. That peach cobbler rice pudding is to die for. I’m just glad I was able to get the last one available. And you just can’t complain about waiting in a line. We probably waited maybe 30-40min. It’s inevitable and they do their best to communicate/update their supplies as the line moves along so you can decide if you want to keep waiting or not.
Sarah — Google review
It's good BBQ, was it the best BBQ I've had? No, but it was good. Was it worth the wait? No, specially when BBQ with higher ratings are a dime a dozen but it was near by and I was hungry. Because of the large line, you felt pressured to quickly make a decision almost questioning what you ordered afterwards. You felt rushed. Their brisket was the best, the lamb probably the worst, hard and cold. Their sausage options were great. Overall, spent over $70 for what I ordered but did have leftovers and had a second meal. Will I come back here when in Austin again? Probably not.
Will J — Google review
This place has a Michelin star for a reason, friends! Get in line early before open (on a weekday if you have the ability!). Try as much as you can stomach, but bring friends! We had 1/2lb of the fatty brisket, 1/2lb of the pork belly, 1/2lb of the pork ribs, 1 pint of the smoked gouda mac n cheese, 1/2 pint of the poblano creamed corn, and 1/2 pint of the scalloped potatoes, as well as fresh house made tortillas. Every single bite was a fantastic experience. The meat was so flavorful that the house BBQ sauces were not even necessary. I wil be visiting here again upon the next visit to ATX!
Haley D — Google review
All I have to say is GET THE SHORT RIB WITH CHIMICHURRI. This was possibly the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Beyond that, everything was very good. While I have had the same quality of meat before at other restaurants, I do not believe I have been to one where all meats ordered were perfectly cooked. And we ordered some of every single one so I can say that with confidence. Top three for us was the Short Rib with Chimichurri, the Peach Tea Pork Belly, and the Brisket. For sides we only ordered the Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese and STX Pork Hash. Definitely worth the wait. We arrived at 10:00 for an 11:00 opening on a Thursday which worked out well for us. Was probably 8th in line when we got there and the line was probably 30+ people deep by opening.
Sean M — Google review
Great Barbeque- it lives up to the hype! There was already a line forming before their 11 opening on a Wednesday morning. We waited for about 45 minutes before we went in. Ordered everything so we can taste it. Pork ribs were fabulous, glazed pork belly was okay- a little too sweet. Beef and brisket all delicious. The Mac and cheese, mashed potato and slaw sides complemented the Barbeque. Definitely a winner. Highly recommended.
MarivicB — Google review
As you can see from the before and after photos we loved Interstellar BBQ! Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Be prepared for a decent wait (we lined up for 2 hours on a Saturday at 11am) but it is worth every second. The staff also come out regularly to keep you up to date on wait times and if anything runs out. Even with their popularity their prices are reasonable. I would tell anyone visiting Austin that this is a must visit!!!

Having been to Istanbul before, I was pleasantly surprised that the food at MezzeMe in Austin was even better than what I tried in Turkey. The staff were so friendly and kind, and every dish—from appetizers to desserts—was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the outdoor ambiance, though the inside was nice as well. I had high hopes, Turkish food is my absolute favorite after visiting Turkey 4 times, the country holds dear to my heart. It didn't quite hit it for me though, the donor kebab was very light on the meat for the price and it was slightly overcooked. The fries, perfect. The restaurant, beautiful. I may try it again and ask for double meat.

Mezze Me truly is one of the best hidden gems in Austin! We’ve ordered it on DoorDash plenty of times, but visiting in person was a whole new experience. The flavors were even fresher, the presentation was beautiful, and the atmosphere made everything taste that much better. We tried their sample platters, and it was the perfect way to get a little bit of everything—each dish was flavorful, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The food also came out within minutes! Highly recommend dining in if you get the chance!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Kebabalicious! This vibrant eatery, born from a beloved food truck, offers an array of Turkish kebabs that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. You can customize your meal by selecting from various kebab styles—whether you prefer a wrap, rice bowl, or Turk salad—and choose from proteins like beef and lamb, chicken thigh, falafel, or crispy tofu.
This restaurant is a rare find, excelling in food, service, and ambiance. Halal Options: Only the charcoal chicken and steak are halal; beef and lamb are not.(at the time of visit) We arrived around 8 PM when it wasn't too busy. We ordered the chicken bowl, quesadillas, chicken strips, and K-fries. The food was served almost immediately and was fantastic. The bowl and fries were bursting with flavor, the chicken was crispy, and while the quesadillas were good, they could use a bit more seasoning. The ambiance is delightful, featuring a charming, well-lit seating area with plenty of space. The staff is friendly and cheerful, making for a pleasant dining experience.Overall, this restaurant is definitely on my list of favorites!

I've been here twice now and have been happy both times. I ordered the char-grilled chicken wrap (larger size) and it was enough to split between two people. The first time I visited, I got the less expensive chicken option and didn't feel like it was worth a re-order. I've ordered the falafel shot both times and have been really happy with the quality of the falafel and the flavor of the sauces.

My wife and I were craving Mediterranean food. We were heading back to our home state VA from the keys, but we couldn’t find any nearby but found Kabobalicious! it was about an hour away from our route and we are glad we made the trip because this place is amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, but what really stood out was the service. Haydee and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. She was so hospitable, kind, and welcoming the entire time. At the end of our meal, she even gave us free waters, which was such a thoughtful touch for our trip back home. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a very comfortable, inviting atmosphere. You can tell they take pride not only in the food but also in the overall experience. Great service, great vibes, and excellent food we’ll definitely be coming back when in the area and highly recommend everyone to check it out! Thank you, Haydee, for making our visit so enjoyable! Via 313 Pizza is a local pizzeria chain with multiple locations in Austin, known for its square Detroit-style pizzas and creative toppings. Despite the COVID-19 shutdown, all five of Via 313's locations are offering no-contact curbside pickups. The Detroiter pizza, featuring layers of pepperoni and cheese, is a popular choice.
Located in the heart of East Austin; their Detroit-style pizza is a perfect blend of crispy, cheesy edges and a pillowy, airy crust. The crust alone is worth the visit – golden, buttery, and just the right amount of crunch. We got the Herbivore, very tasty! The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or grab a quick bite solo. Service is consistently friendly and attentive.

We came searching for Detroit-style pizza and this place is the real deal! Sat at the bar on a Saturday and had a great time talking with Joe. Wife and I split a 4 piece and really appreciated that you can split the toppings. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was very good while the pizza cooked. The venue was getting crowded around 7:00 PM and seeing all the locals come in is always a good sign. The pizza was best I’ve had (and I don’t say that lightly). Specialty topping combinations are unique and go very well together. The place is perfectly clean, spacious and cool in the TX heat. I would go back every time in Austin. The picture says it all.

Via 313 is my go-to spot whenever we are in town, honestly, I prefer their Detroit-style pizza over many I’ve had in Detroit itself. It never disappoints! The staff has always been super friendly since our first visit back in 2019. A memorable moment: during that first visit, we asked if they had a gluten-free dessert. They didn’t at the time, but the chef heard about it and surprised us by offering us a cinnamon-sugar dessert on the spot free of charge, something they were testing for the menu. It was amazing! When we saw it officially added to the menu later on, we smiled, feeling like we were part of its story. If you’re looking for a great Detroit style gluten-free pizza and genuinely kind people, this is the place.

I ordered a hibiscus margarita and cheese sticks with pepperoni, bacon and jalapeños with a side of marinara and ranch. I come here often and Jamie has been very sweet and attentive even during a chaotic rush. She makes sure all her tables are doing well and answers any questions about the menu. She offers gluten free pizza and desserts which are really good! Recommended trying their hubcaps, satisfies the sweet craving! Thanks for the great service Jamie! ☺️

We ordered online and picked up. It was easy and the pizza was delicious! We got a gluten free pepperoni and sausage with gluten free cinnamon sticks. The dough was so bouncy and soft, hard to believe it’s gf! I especially loved how the cheese baked to a perfect crisp on the outside of the pizza. Chefs kiss! The cinnamon sticks were very good as well and come with icing drizzled on top. I’ll certainly be back here!

Everything was so good from service to food. I had my waiter pick out my pizza order for me as I was feeling adventurous. My small Detroit pizza was half & half. Half Cadillac & Half Bobo. The Cadillac was something I would have never ordered on my own but it tasted so amazing just the mix of the cheese with the sweetness of the fig and tanginess of the balsamic vinaigrette was perfect. The Cadillac will be my new favorite pizza to eat from now after trying it. The service was also an amazing experience as everyone was so nice when it came to refills and asking me how everything tasted. Will 100% be coming back
Kristopher V — Google review
The pizza was very good and the online ordering system is thorough and makes addressing unique preferences very clear. Food costs are through the roof and this establishment is staying on the curve in order to be a going concern long term. In short a large two topping pizza came out just sub $40 at the time of writing. No sodas, no sides, pickup. This is not a complaint, just the facts. Will I order again, absolutely. Will it be in regular rotation, probably reserved for when I really crave it.

We had the best experience! Pizza was out of this world! You even have the option to split it into two different pizzas, giving you the option to try more than one of their options. Service was amazing! They made us feel like family. Go here !

P. Terry's Burger Stand is a popular burger chain which opened its first location in 2005. The restaurant is known for its cheap prices and excellent burgers, as well as its shoestring fries which are always seasoned correctly. The menu also includes breakfast items such as eggs and bacon.
P Terry's is a blast from the past. $3 burgers, $4 shakes, and the food is pretty good to boot. They have a nice selection but the menu is simple enough to keep wait times short. We waited under 10 minutes on a moderately busy day. The ingredients taste fresh and food is made to order which makes this cheaper and better than bigger chains like McDonald's. I usually don't like Oreo shakes because they taste too artificial but this one was really good. They've got around a half dozen flavors and some rotating seasonal shakes. If you're looking for old fashioned style fast food that stands up to the promise of being fast, affordable and filling I'd highly recommend P Terry's. They also have breakfast items, which I didn't try.

P. Terry’s on 6th is a burger joint, but I cheated on beef with the chicken sandwich and I’m not even sorry. That thing was so crispy and juicy it should come with a warning label. The place is tiny, like “if you sneeze, someone else’s fry moves” tiny, but the food comes out so fast it feels illegal. Perfect lunch spot if you work downtown and want something delicious before spiraling back into emails and existential dread. Bring a friend if you like awkward knee contact and sharing napkins like it’s a first date.

The best burgers. Our expectations weren't that high because it's not exactly the most glamorous front or eating area and the prices are so affordable but the burgers are THE BEST. Just back to the basics, great cheese burgers. We ate here for dinner every day. Shakes and fries were ok but the cheese burgers were great. There's only a few seats so I don't plan on eating here. The prices were great.

I ordered the double cheeseburger with bacon, fries, and a sweet tea. The meal was excellent fresh, flavorful, and served promptly. The staff were courteous and attentive, and the service was efficient. A great experience at this downtown location

Walked by this place and it smelled amazing! I couldn't believe the prices. Got two combos (2 double cheeseburgers, 2 orders of french fries and 2 drinks) for $17 after tax! For downtown Austin, that's a great deal! They are super cheap and the quality is outstanding. The food was delicious and fresh! Quick service and our order was correct. If you're in the area, stop in. The bathroom was OK

I come here every Friday for my boss and I always get the veggie burger for myself. Usually its 10/10 and I rave to everyone how it's the best veggie burger Ive had here in Austin. However today it was horrible. The veggie burger patty was way over cooked to the point it was dry and crumbling. The cheese on top was also burnt to a crisp and brown. Very sad because I was so excited for my weekly burger. Probably will have to find a new spot.

Our burger orders were wrong, we waited 35 minutes and they still forgot to give us 2 fries. Hair in our chicken nuggets. The atmosphere Isn’t even worth coming for, it’s just painted teal and wood decor. Food was tasteless.

The math isn't mathing. On the drive thru menu, the 20 pc nuggets is $5.99 for the saucy nuggets. How in the world did I get charged almost $12?! I asked the question at the point of sale and basically got no explanation.

Rating: 3.2/5 [takeout] We ordered online around 10:45 PM on a Friday, and by the time we arrived, our food was ready. Since we chose carryout, we had to show our order confirmation to pick up our meal. Everything was neatly packaged and sealed. The portion sizes were still normal--not downsized like at some other fast-food places. I also appreciated that we could add extra condiments and toppings free of charge. Spicy Chicken Sandwich with Ketchup, Mustard, Pickles, & Onion ($6.19): This was just okay. The chicken was a bit bland and not spicy at all. The pickles, however, added a nice pop of flavor and texture. Classic Chicken Sandwich with Ketchup, Mustard, & Onion ($6.19): I expected this to be the same as the spicy version, but surprisingly, it was much better. The chicken had more flavor, was crispier, and even seemed bigger. Son Baconator with Pickle, Tomato, Lettuce, Mustard, & Onion ($3): Wendy's had a promo for this sandwich, so we gave it a try. For $3, it was a steal! The sandwich was delicious, and the hamburger patties were juicy. This ended up being my favorite of the three. 10-Piece Spicy Garlic Parmesan Nuggets ($5.99): These nuggets were drenched in sauce, yet the breading stayed intact, which was impressive. The flavors were good, though a bit salty and intense--definitely something you'd want to eat with carbs or veggies.

I love Wendy's, but this was one of the most underwhelming experiences I've had despite also just being what it is. I saw the bad rating but thought, it's Wendy's! It can't be that bad. I came from pickleball and petting a dog, so I wanted to wash my hands before I ate. I walked and there's no bathroom or place to sit. Ok. I order my food and they're out of diet coke. Ok. I'm asked if I want sauce and see them pouring buffalo sauce in a small container for me. Ok. Then I get my food, there's some guy eating his food in a nook right after the drive through, 2 feet in front of the the first car. Ok. I walk out and decide to eat sitting on the retaining wall like a homeless person. Ok. I look in my bag and see no ketchup. Ok. Go back for ketchup and then ate my food like a homeless person. I guess when I saw the location I got what I expected but still, just not enjoyable. Ok.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Ordered 3 cups of small waters with my order and they tried charging me $7.77 for it. When I said "no thank, please issue me a refund," the manager decided to get an attitude and yell. They couldn't even figure out how to ring up a jr cheeseburger correctly. Definitely won't be back.

I went here around 2 am on 08/03/25. The service and food were terrible. The staff there didn’t have my order right and no ice for the drinks. I work in customer service and know how service should be and this isn’t it. They were playing around and when I asked did they have ice she was like no. I feel that’s something the guest should know before ordering. The food was cold and drink was flat. I want be back to this location ever.

I know fast food but you shouldn't serve cold food. I ordered a small chilli and a small fries both were cold. The cheese didn't even melt inside of the chilli. You could have easily popped up it in the microwave for a few seconds

Biscuits + Groovy, located in Hyde Park, Austin, is a popular spot for biscuit enthusiasts. The menu features a variety of breakfast and fried chicken sandwiches served on their signature all-butter biscuits made from scratch. Whether you're craving the classic Bird Bird Bacon breakfast sandwich or a plant-based alternative, there's something for everyone. During weekend brunch, guests can complement their meal with fresh-squeezed orange juice and even bring their own champagne for mimosas.
I recently had a breakfast at here, and it was an absolutely delight. I highly recommend trying the Hammer and The Bee Gee, both are incredibly flavorful and satisfying. One of the highlights of my meal was the homemade jelly. It's simply divine and perfectly complements the biscuits. The truck is easy to find with ample parking, and there are plenty of tables and chairs for comfortable dining. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Biscuits + Groovy is a good choice for a delicious breakfast.

This is a great breakfast food truck! The food - hot and fresh. The biscuits delish - light and fluffy. I loved the chives on top. Gravy was creamy - homemade? Not sure. It is a good amount of food for the price. We got the biscuits + groovy.

These biscuits were so good. They were so soft, and the egg and bacon were cooked to perfection. My mom loved her biscuits and gravy with sausage. She said they were the best she had ever had. I will definitely eat here again when I return to Austin . Best biscuits in all of Austin !!!
Joana — Google review
These are not your granny’s biscuits and gravy! These biscuits are baked to prefect fluffy perfection. In fact, Mike Lindell should sue them because every bite is like the perfect pillow for your tongue! The Bee Gees with jelly are a perfect appetizer to your meal. The striking difference here from getting biscuits and gravy from any old restaurant is that they understand that more toppings makes for better eating! The meats taste amazing and the bacon is the most perfectly crisp, but not crunchy bacon I have ever eaten. All of the flavors mix together well indicating the time and care that was taken to craft all of their specialties. This doesn’t particularly matter to me, but their menu also states that all options can be made vegan and vegetarian if you ask. This place definitely is Groovy!

I was so excited to try this place and went to pick up for me and some coworkers. Unfortunately, from the get go, it was a nasty experience. The older woman who works inside the truck is so incredibly rude. They didn’t come to the window until I rang the bell and then the woman gave me a long story about how they just painted the parking lot lines. My car was over one of the lines (because their parking lot is bad and the lines don’t make sense for how you need to pull into their lot.) I was going to give my order and then move my car, but she refused to take my order until I moved my car. Her attitude was disgusting. I don’t even care about the quality of food when the quality of service is so bad. You never know what people are going through. I just lost my dad last month and this was one of his favorite places in Austin. This was my first time here and wanting to feel close to my dad and it was soiled instantly. I’ll do better to park exactly in the lines. You do better checking your attitude and how you talk to people.
Kendall J — Google review
Be wary about ordering online. I ordered a hammer with gravy on the side (it's on the ticket) and a bee gee. It gave me a pick up time of 30mins. I came about 32mins after I placed my order. My hammer biscuit did not have the gravy on the side (not sure if it came with any at all) one biscuit half is extremely tough and dry. The eggs are are dry and bland. It seems like the order was ready a lot sooner than 30 mins and was just sitting in box for probably 20 mins. The beegee biscuit was fine. The outdoor area is very nice, so maybe this would be better if you order directly from the food truck

If you find yourself wandering near BookPeople or Waterloo, make sure to stop by Soup Peddler Real Food & Juice Bar. This charming eatery is a treasure trove for health enthusiasts, offering an array of homemade soups, refreshing smoothies, and mouthwatering grilled cheese sandwiches. The name "Soup Peddler" pays homage to its founder's unique beginnings—delivering delicious soup by bike before expanding into full-fledged locations.
This place is one of my favorite places in Austin. Their business time smoothie is hands down the best smoothie ever. I don’t live in Austin anymore but anytime I visit, this is a must. Their soups & grilled cheese sandwiches are also so yummy. I love how cozy this place feels & the food is delicious.

I was very excited to come and get some food here because they said the food was excellent. Sadly disappointed on their service, staff is polite but not very friendly. I asked for a turkey sandwich and a juice and she was frustrated for all the orders and said that the order will take 20 min, I said it’s ok I can work in the meantime. 48 minutes later I have no food yet, only the juice. I went and asked for the food and she looked all confused and said, Oh let me check. She came back with my sandwich and said I’m sorry. So they totally forgot about the food. The sandwich was ok, I paid 20 dollars for a juice and a very skinny sandwich that was mostly bread. Definitely not worth the time.

Juan More Taco is an absolute gem tucked away in the parking lot of an amazing hand wash car wash—talk about a win-win! Not only can you get your car sparkling clean, but you can also enjoy some of the best tacos in town while you wait. I had the breakfast taco with bacon and egg, and it was perfection. The taco truck is set up at a car wash, which actually made for some fun people-watching while we waited for our food. We had a migas taco and a chorizo burrito. The migas taco was not bad; it wasn't especially flavorful, but the green onions in the eggs added a nice touch. The chorizo burrito was good sized, with plenty of refried beans, eggs, and some smashed avocado in it. Overall speaking, worth having a bite if you're nearby, but not worth making a trip.

First off I have had Tortas from many different legit Mexican food restaurants. I ordered the Super Torta (steak, chicken, and ham) and it was top notch. Juan (owner/operator) was excellent in all aspects of providing great service. Barbecue restaurant
Franklin Barbecue is a bustling spot in Central East Austin that has gained numerous accolades since its opening in 2009. The long lines that form early every day are legendary, and the brisket with its peppery and caramelized crust is worth the wait. It has received awards such as a James Beard award, multiple mentions in Texas Monthly, and an induction into the American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame.
Finally got to check out Franklin BBQ after passing by so many times and always seeing those long lines out front. I’d been curious for a while and wanted to see if it was really worth the hype—and honestly, it is. A few friends and I went on a weekday, got there about 30 minutes before they opened, and there was already a small crowd waiting with foldable chairs, chatting and hanging out. The wait wasn’t bad at all. The brisket was ridiculously tender and flavorful, the ribs had that perfect smoky bite, and the sausage was juicy with just the right kick. Everything we tried was legit. Pro tip: if you're going with a group, definitely get a quarter or half pound of each meat instead of a full pound of anything. The portions are bigger than you'd think, and it’s easy to overorder. This way, you get to try a bit of everything without wasting food—or feeling like you need a nap afterward. All in all, it was a great experience. The food lived up to the reputation, the vibe was chill, and I’d totally go back again. If you’re in Austin and haven’t been yet, Franklin BBQ is one of those places you should try at least once.
Kai N — Google review
Finally had Franklin Barbecue, and it’s officially taken the #1 spot in my BBQ rankings! After years of reading about and watching Aaron Franklin’s techniques, I made it a priority to stop by during a Texas trip, and it did NOT disappoint. The brisket is the star of the show—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The bark was absolutely perfect, delivering that smoky, caramelized crust I’d dreamed about. It’s everything you’d expect from Franklin’s mastery and more. The surprise standout was the jalapeño cheddar sausage, which took second place among the meats. I’m not even a huge sausage fan, but the gooey, cheesy goodness that oozed out with every slice was unreal—pure deliciousness! The turkey, pulled pork, and pork ribs were all fantastic, tying for third. Each one is absolutely worth ordering, showcasing the incredible range of Franklin’s craft. I only tried the potato salad as a side, which was solid but not the best I’ve ever had—still a great complement to the meats. I grabbed two pies to go, and I’ll update this review once I dig into those. For now, Franklin Barbecue is a must-visit for any BBQ lover. The hype is real, and it’s worth the wait!
Luke F — Google review
Great experience! Came for an early Tuesday lunch and only had a short 15 minute wait. The brisket was the best I’ve ever had, so moist and delicious, even the lean cuts. The coleslaw was fine, nothing too fancy, but the brisket stole the show. Absolutely worth the trip, I’ll definitely be coming back.
Aybike O — Google review
We came all the way from Florida to try this BBQ. Waited in line for almost 2 hours and it was worth the wait. The meat was all incredible. The sauces are delicious. The beans and slaw were great. The potato salad was not my favorite but it wasn’t bad. The atmosphere and service was really great. I highly recommend giving this a try. Get there EARLY! They ran out of some stuff while we were in line but the brisket alone made it all worth it.
Aimie M — Google review
The best brisket you are going to have probably in your whole life, Franklin BBQ is second to none. The consistency of the meat, the portion size, the service and the experience of waiting in line just to have a slice of this magnificent food makes it a must do experience in Austin. I don't think it's that wise to arrive very early... However you can go at around 10 and wait in line for about an hour and still get some brisket. (We went on Saturday). Everything about this place is great! Don't miss it.
Everardo R — Google review
We went Wednesday morning to wait in line & of course the food was worth it. The brisket was well seasoned & moist even with flat cut. The ribs were fall off the bone & tender to the bite while the jalapeño cheddar sausage really sealed the deal with its snapping sound & running juices from every bite. The inside area is really clean & organized so when get your food & drinks you have easy access to the utensils & bbq sauce area. Not my first time here but definitely not my last.
JoeSon A — Google review
The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender with incredible smoky flavor, and the ribs are just as outstanding. The wait can be long, but once you taste the food, you’ll understand why it’s considered one of the best BBQ spots in the country.
Maryken N — Google review
I recently had the exciting experience of waiting in line for the legendary Franklin's Barbecue. Arriving at noon, I found myself eagerly anticipating a delicious meal as I navigated a 2-hour wait before finally sitting down to enjoy my feast at 2:10 PM. Let me start with the star of the show—the brisket. It's truly a melt-in-your-mouth delight, incredibly juicy and full of flavor. While the meat near the skin can be a bit chewy, it’s so well seasoned that it’s delicious even on its own—no sauce needed! Then there are the pork ribs, which are nothing short of spectacular; they fall right off the bone with the slightest tug and are perfectly seasoned, making them a highlight of my meal. Now, about the sausage—it was the only disappointment. It had a chewy texture, and the flavor was lacking. The skin was tough, making it less enjoyable. However, I can confidently say that the brisket and ribs more than make up for this minor letdown. As for the service, the staff were incredibly friendly and upbeat, each one eager to share their knowledge about the menu. I did notice that they seemed a bit overwhelmed with the crowd, and perhaps adding another cashier or meat cutter would speed things up since the line was fairly long. The atmosphere of the place is charming, with a lively yet manageable noise level. The decor has this nostalgic vibe with its well-worn walls adorned with stickers and marks from visitors of the past, though many of those marks get painted over, leaving only the memories of those who visited before us. In conclusion, Franklin’s Barbecue is a must-try for any barbecue lover. While I’d say my wait was about 10 to 20 minutes longer than ideal, if you’re truly committed to savoring some fantastic BBQ, it’s well worth it. Just be sure to arrive around 11 AM to ensure you don’t miss out on the mouthwatering meats before they sell out!

Magnolia Cafe is a beloved local eatery in Austin, known for its breakfast offerings, Tex-Mex dishes, and vegetarian options. The cafe has a rich history, with its second location on SoCo opening in 1988 and becoming an integral part of Austin's culinary scene. Originally established as the Omelettry West in 1979, it was transformed into the vibrant Magnolia Cafe we know today in 1987.
Magnolia Cafe – A Perfect Austin Kickoff Spot! We started our day at Magnolia Cafe, and it was the perfect move. The landscape hash was hearty and delicious — definitely a meal that keeps you fueled for a day of exploring. We split a pitcher of mimosas, which set a great tone, and the atmosphere was relaxed and classic Austin. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole place just had that cool, laid-back vibe you want in a brunch spot. Whether you’re looking for a big breakfast, a boozy brunch, or just a solid spot to start your day, Magnolia Cafe delivers. Can’t wait to come back!

I've been having the occasional dinner here since the mid-90s, more frequently in the beginning but less so in the last few years as I don't find myself around south Congress very often anymore. Last Sunday, we decided to swing by, in part for old time's sake, and I'm glad we did. Magnolia Cafe is still an Austin original, and, after decades, still true to what made it a local institution. Food was just as I remember it, flavorful and with fresh ingredients, service was great and the place was perfectly clean. We had the stir fry, the black bean entree, and a key lime pie slice; everything was delicious. Since the pandemic, they are not open 24 hours anymore but, otherwise, still there. We'll definitely be coming back a lot more often.

Friendly and attentive service, nice indoor and outdoor seating, large menu (everything looks so good), and a mimosa bar while waiting to be seated (quick wait times). Loved our queso omelette and croissant-wich! We got lucky and were able to park at the restaurant but more parking is available close by. LOVED this restaurant experience!

This place is seriously super cute! Service was amazing and the food was delicious. While you wait you can purchase a beverage out back, and we only waited about 15 min. Seating consists of indoor and outdoor. Parking lot can be busy, but there is a side lot and parking in the back. Def worth the wait!

I have to admit, Magnolia Cafe has been in my list of places to try but somehow it never happened. Today, because we're in the neighborhood, so we decided to visit one located in the South Congress Ave. After putting the name down to get a table (a straight forward process that just need to scan a barcode and fill out the information), we got seated within 20 minutes. We started with Chips, queso and salsa (It was so good and gone so fast that did not have time to take a picture 😅); for the lunch we got Chicken and the Egg, Omelette with shredded beef, Chicken Enchiladas and Voodoo Blue Cheese burger with a side order of home fries (My order). Without knowing what to expect, I have to admit that it was an outstanding burger: from the nicely cooked beef patties to blue cheese crumbles and grilled buns, the result far exceeded my expectation. I'm addition, judging by how quickly the rest of family finished their meals, I can only assume other dishes were good, too. The service we received was excellent, definitely deserves to be mentioned. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Highly recommend it. 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was our second visit, although this time on Saturday around noon it was kind of disappointing. Both host staff was not friendly or welcoming, just matter of fact.-no smiles! Our server was very friendly but very distracted and not very attentive to us. We had to wave her down a couple of times to get some assistance. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy added shredded beef which was yummy and the Magnolia Stir Fry which was not yummy. The Stir Fry was more like a soup, way too much teriyaki sauce and barely any rice. The highlight was the Root Beer Float, perfection!! If we go back, I’ll stick with breakfast items.

Vibe is what Austin used to feel like about a decade ago: eclectic, unserious, fun, and quirky! The service is top notch! I'm gluten free and their jalapeno cornbread pancake is so yummy! I add feta and bacon to mine for a sweet/savory/creamy/spicy experience. It's so yum! I also enjoy their huevos rancheros too! Great place for a brunch spot and they're open 24 hours on the weekends!! Make sure to come early to put your name down for the guest list!

We were visiting Austin from Denver and one of our Denver Friends recommended Magnolia Cafe to us. The food here was awesome and I highly recommend it me and everyone else at our table ended up getting breakfast items, and all of them were delicious! I got an omelette (that I can't remember the name of) and ginger pancakes stuffed with bananas, and it was delicious! My friend got the shredded beef omelette and said it was awesome, and my girlfriend got the chocolate chip pancakes and also loved them. Overall I highly recommend this place for their breakfast this was probably the best omelette I've ever had!

Mexican restaurant
Torchy's Tacos is a popular Mexican street-food-style taco chain known for its inventive and diverse taco offerings, including breakfast options. Customers praise the friendly and knowledgeable staff who provide excellent service. The hand-made corn tortillas and crispy fried shrimp tacos are particularly recommended. While some have noted occasional issues with customer service, others appreciate the consistent quality of the food, especially the flavorful salsas.
Just made an order from here its very good!! I've already had two tacos!! I love the chorizo is like my favorite food and very good with eggs!! Excited about my other order!! Chips are also very good!! Very pleased!!! I don't always come down here but they have many good places!! I live way more north!! I also had the chicken bowl and the chicken here is amazing and very good!! Thank you!!

They installed these new kiosks to order. So not only does it feel way less personable but the ordering system is extremely buggy, so it takes 2x longer to place an order. Torchy’s has never had the best food but they were fun and local feeling. Now it feels impersonal and corporate. I can’t see the point, somebody help me understand why Torchy’s exists

Solid choice for fast food tacos. I ordered the democrat taco (barbacoa, avocado, cotija, onion, cilantro) and it was tasty. Chips and queso were good too. Food came out quickly after we ordered. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. There’s a secret menu online with a few extra options so make sure to check that out as well.

I visited this location for the first time the other day. I tried the Taco of the Month, which was The Ronin. It was very tasty. The wait wasn't too long. The restaurant was very clean and was nice and airy, with a lot of natural light, due to having many windows. Service was good. I ate indoors, but the outdoor patio looked really nice as well. Good place to grab a bite. 🌮

Absolutely loved Torchy’s Tacos in Austin TX. Yum yum We heard the queso was amazing and it was! The outdoor seating was awesome and the space was clean. Such a good vibe! Loved that they had cooler drinks in addition to the fountain sodas. Had to grab a Liquid Death to top off the best taco!

Vegetarian/vegan restaurant with some excellent food. Love it, especially the breakfast blueberry cornbread. Vibe is very unique-Austin. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Bar as well with some beer, wine, and cider options. Especially enjoyed the desserts.
Adam C — Google review
We came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The menu is great, with lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, and the coffee was especially good. The service was also lovely, our waitress was kind and attentive. The space inside is bright and open, with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There’s also a patio area outside if you prefer to sit outdoors. Prices are reasonable, and overall it’s a great spot for a tasty vegetarian meal. The only thing that gave us pause was something we noticed when we arrived after 9 am. As we walked past the side of the building, we saw several boxes of eggs sitting outside near what looked like a storage or utility area. It was already quite hot outside (we’re in Texas, after all), and we weren’t sure how long the eggs had been there. That raised some food safety concerns. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. The food was excellent, and it’s a really nice place to spend a morning

I love this place. Staff is great, huge vegan menu, business is committed to progressive community building. It gets packed on the weekends so I prefer to come during the week, but anytime you can get a seat is a great time to come. Also look how beautiful this Moroccan summer bowl was. Incredible vibes 👌🏼As a vegan in Austin I would say Bouldin is basically the center of the orbit.

On a mission to explore iconic local spots in Austin, I made my next stop at Bouldin Creek Cafe—and it did not disappoint. The “weird” and cozy interior (and exterior!) totally embraces the Keep Austin Weird vibe in the best way. The atmosphere is laid-back and full of character. The food? Super affordable and packed with flavor. I tried the Avocado Toast, Predictable Breakfast, Chalupa, and Spicy Pesto—all were fantastic. It’s a great place for vegetarians, too. If you're visiting Austin and want something local, artsy, and delicious, this spot should definitely be on your list.

An awesome vegan place that feels like modern, visibly enticing and touches the taste palettes to a dreamy place. Loved each and everything and definitely bound to return again. With good portion sizes, the plates are good for sharing. Excellent service and a great vibe that definitely reminds you, you are in Austin. Had to wait for over 45min for the table and that wait is definitely worth every minute.

We were in Austin to visit the State Capital, and I was amazed with all the vegan restaurants. In North Texas where I come from, people don't know what a vegan restaurant is. 😀 There was a small wait because we got there at lunch time. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I enjoyed my Lady Bird salad, which was huge and filled with local produce. The ginger flavored lemonade was also good. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Micklethwait Craft Meats BBQ & Catering is a popular spot in Austin, known for its delicious BBQ meats and unique sides. The trailer setup with outdoor picnic tables offers combo plates and sandwiches, making it a great place to enjoy some authentic Texas barbecue. The menu features a perfect blend of traditional smoked brisket and innovative creations like Tex-Czech sausage, pulled goat, barbacoa, and award-winning beef rib.
I’ve been following Micklethwait Barbeque for a while, back when they had their popular food truck, and finally got the chance to check out their new physical location. The space itself is great, the staff is awesome, and the food did not disappoint. The pulled lamb was incredible, the brisket was top-notch, and the pork ribs were absolutely delicious. The green chili grits might be some of the best grits I’ve ever had, and the mac & cheese was off the charts. If you’re in Austin or just visiting, I’d highly recommend stopping by, these guys are definitely up there with the big names in town.

There’s a huge lot around the building for parking. Cute place! Outdoor seating that is dog friendly. They had live entertainment Sunday which was nice. Umbrellas and fans help make it comfortable outside. Staff were so amazing! They all had smiles and were very friendly! Unfortunately, the only food I liked was the brisket and pork ribs in their bbq sauce. The mac n cheese was good. As far as the coleslaw and greens, they are unique and I am not a fan. I found the chili to be overpowering. The frozen lemonade was great! I’d for sure go back to chill but I would not spend $150 again.
J K — Google review
We came to Micklethwait from multiple friends' recommendations during our week-long trip San Antonio to Austin. It was fantastic! For 2 people, we ordered the brisket, pork ribs, cheesy hot link, with mac n cheese and green beans sides. I normally don't prefer dry rub ribs, but they were amazing, so flavorful. The green beans were also perfect and a great tangy compliment to the meats. We were really impressed by the cheesy hot link - it was staff-recommended since they're known for their sausages. We came in around noon on a Friday, and we waited a bit to order but not long - and the food is prepared immediately. Staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming - we would definitely return for the service (and the food). The indoor and outdoor seating areas are both really nice - great space for groups. Parking was also not hard to find on their street. The flavors of Micklethwait were really unforgettable, and we hope to return soon!

Micklethwait serves real, no-fuss, seriously good food. The brisket was great, and the burger was excellent — flavorful, juicy, and satisfying. If you're after quality barbecue without the frills, this is the spot!

Such a nice team here. The brisket was excellent. The Czech got link was awesome! Loved the grits. Such a nice heat to them but super well prepared. Highly recommended.

Listen, everyone knows Micklethwait is the best bbq in Austin. I say this in the best way, I hope they never get a Michelin star and a bunch of out of towners eat at this gem. Venue and patio garden, sick. Prices, reasonable! But its the taco specials for lunch or dinner for $15 that change weekly keep me coming back!

First time visit and found it to be a good experience. I was on the hunt for an expresso based coffee and ended up having breakfast too. The bacon taco wasn't bursting with flavour but tasted good all the same. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Couldn't ask for anything else.

Asri P — Google review
They are a huge mess right now and it seems like business as usual to the staff. Waited over 35 minutes for breakfast on a normal busy Sunday, nothing crazy. Music blasting on their patio and two other businesses nearby made the patio a miserable experience along with the overflowing trashcan that staff ignored the entire time we were there. When asked about the wait after about 30 minutes, the staff were dismissive, entirely unapologetic. I had to ask staff for a wet rag to wipe all of the spilled food off of the table, which they just handed to me and allowed me to do. Everyone there acts like this is their first day at their first job. I’ve been coming here for years and this was it. The place was a mess and a completely sucky experience for all customers. I saw someone else demanding a refund. Probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in years. Won’t be back!

A simple yet impressive taco spot in Austin. We went for breakfast as we wanted to try some breakfast tacos and we were so impressed by the offering. Love this place! Saw it on a rerun of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and had to go see for myself. Loved the options they have for breakfast and lunch. Loved the nachos and the service was great. We came on a Tuesday right before happy hour. My friend and I were the only ones there at the time which was kinda nice. Some others started to come when we finished. Anyway back to the nachos--split between two people and I was already full but ordered the salad sampler as well and it was a nice light compliment to the nachos. A truly rare VEGAN restaurant. Wheelchair accessible. Patio dining for our 4 legged friends. Nice gender neutral bathrooms. Awesome Vegan Food in an uplifting atmosphere. Our waitress, Riley, couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. She was amazing and really made our dining experience so enjoyable. My husband had the Seitan Sub Supreme and I had the Nachos. Both were extremely good and we would definitely order them again. Even vegetarians and vegans deserve good BBQ! Being one of the highest rated vegan / vegetarian restaurants around with jack fruit on the menu, we had to stop in. A very colorful and bright environment that offers plenty of outdoor seating on the private patio with a very impressive menu. Not only was everything extremely flavorful, the staff were absolutely great. Cheers!

I must admit I had my doubts about going to a vegan restaurant with my friend. I was definitely impressed by, first the service and knowledge of our waitress Abby, and then again by my food. Paperboy is a popular brunch spot in Austin, known for its warm and hip atmosphere. Reservations are recommended weeks in advance due to high demand, but walk-ins are also welcome. The restaurant offers traditional diner seating as well as a downstairs patio with a view of East 11th street. The menu features classic breakfast items like bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches alongside more unique options such as braised pork and sweet potato hash.
Love the vibe of this place. The tall brick hollow wall lets sunlight stream in beautifully. I ordered the chicken and biscuits — the gravy is a spicy mushroom sauce that pairs perfectly with the biscuits. The chicken is crispy and tender, though slightly on the sweet side. Better have reservation in advance or the wait is super long.
Rachel W — Google review
Paperboy is absolutely phenomenal. The meal started with four buttery biscuits, served with butter and a seasonal marmalade—this time, peach. They were divine: flaky, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The hash was a perfect balance of flavors, with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired beautifully with the savory shredded pork. The pecan mole added just the right touch of depth without being overpowering. The pancakes were another standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Truly a must-order. The only miss for me was the cheesy potato side. It wasn’t bad, but compared to everything else, it didn’t stand out, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, Paperboy delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic breakfast we shared the empanada, biscuits and jam, Huevos Rancheros Grits and the Paperboy Pancake. Everything was great. Even their drip coffee was next level. Only complaint is getting blasted by the sun the entire breakfast. Could easily be addressed but they did not have a remedy for it unfortunately.

Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!

Some of the best breakfast in Austin! We came here for a friend’s birthday breakfast and it did not disappoint. We sat outside but it was shaded and there were fans so it was perfect. The coffee was fantastic and tasted high quality, not super sweet but amazing nonetheless. The paperboy pancake is a must, I saw it on TikTok and had to try it. Big, thick pancake but at the same time fluffy. It had great flavor, definitely add the syrup on top, it gets absorbed through the whole pancake. I also got the chicken and biscuit. The chicken was flavorful and crispy, a little kick from the hot honey. And the gravy was delicious! My husband got the standard breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. And he really enjoyed it. The potatoes were super yummy and seasoned to perfection. The toast came with preserved but we couldn’t really tell what kind, but it was great. Highly recommend stopping by when in Austin!

Wow! The food was amazing as was the service! We ordered the chicken and gravy and their gravy was divinely magical! It was sweet, savory and I think I detected a hint of nutmeg in it. Delicious! Also, the pancake was the most buttery, soft pancake I've ever had and it was served with a sweet cinnamon butter. Their cheesy hashbrown was really good too! The staff are super nice and provide exceptional service!

Finding this place in Austin was a real gem; it’s was a super nice restaurant. My boyfriend and I had brunch. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess save us a table. Visited the food truck located inside Liberty. We ordered the beets, the brussel sprout salad, chicken, and pork belly. All the food was ordered via the mobile app and we were notified our food was ready by text message. All the food was served in paper trays. Portions were ample and easy to share. We ordered beer from the bar while waited and finished the pints while eating. There is a large outdoor beer garden with plenty of seating at metal picnic tables. Expensive for a bowl of white rice with fried tofu but the tofu was actually good and tasty. I wish there was less rice and more sauce.

As a regular at the previous location, I can verify that the food and the service has changed, and not for the best. Last time I came here an hour before close and wasn't able to put in my order so I walked up to the cashier and told him that for some reason the web app wouldn't take my order. He was rude and brushed me off, saying he didn't know why, but maybe the manager remotely decided to stop taking orders. Fine. I've been here two times since, and it just has not been very good. the garlic fries are gone, the karaage and the curry taste bland, the pork belly was also bland.. I probably won't be back.
Jordonne J — Google review
The food was really good!! I had the fried chicken sandwich, and the fried beets. The chicken was bigger than the bun, which was a huge plus! I love whenever that happens. Beets were cooked perfectly and paired extremely well with the spicy mayo. I will definitely try this place again next time im at High Noon.

Freaking incredible. Eastside King has been around forever and is a legitimate Austin institution. I’ve not been disappointed with a single thing I’ve eaten here. Bold and unique flavors, done exquisitely well. Love the beet fries, karaage, and Brussels 🤤

I really enjoyed the food here! The beet fries were so yummy!! And the chicken sandwich had such a great amalgamation of flavors. I can’t wait to try more. Someone next to me got the chicken and rice and it looked and smelled amazing.

Woah. Wasn’t expecting to have the best karage of my life but it happened. Seriously. Was going to go for the pork belly buns but the lady behind the counter recommended these and I am so glad she did!!!! Right amount of spice, fresh basil, beautifully crisp, and so much flavor! Do it. Get the karage!!!!!

Farmers Markets
The Barton Creek Farmers Market is a vibrant Saturday market located at the Barton Creek Square Mall in West Lake Hills. It offers a picturesque view of downtown Austin and features a variety of farm-fresh produce, specialty foods, and organic goods. In addition to fruits, vegetables, and pasture-raised proteins, visitors can find freshly baked breads, jams, and Angus beef. The market also hosts art vendors, jewelry makers, and live music to create a lively atmosphere for shoppers.
It's my first time visiting the place. Lots of parking and alot of vendors. I believe they have more vendors than Muller's (sorry if you think other wise) amd the spacing of the vendors were better. Plants, food, coffee, baklava, tamale, farm goods, dog treats, crystal arts, wooden arts, and many more to see!
S.J. — Google review
I went once recently, it was small and crowded, nothing great, but good enough .....I was planning on going again soon so I pulled it up on google, and thankfully decided to read the reviews......I usually read all of the, and the one star comments too, because that's usually where to truth is found. I was disgusted to read the comments about the owner, and further disgusted by her rude, snarky, arrogant reply to one star comments. I won't be going back, even though the pickles I got last time were delicious. I won't patronize a business that is run by a rude, nasty owner......and you vendors, perhaps find a better way to sell your products, because doing business with someone who seemingly berates and intimidates you, is not worth it. I'm sure she'll reply with some ignorant comment, that's what bully's do. If you care anything about what Austin used to stand for, you'll not patronize this place. The owner seems indicative of what Austin has become, filled with people moving here only to capitalize off the greatness that Austin used to be, and they are bringing their nastiness from wherever they came from, destroying the friendly, peaceful nature we used to be.
Anthony T — Google review
Born and raised Austinite here...Ive been attending this market since high school and each time I come, I am never left unsatisfied. Over the years, I've become good friends with the owner and she is one of the most interesting and intelligent person I've come across. Some of the reviews left on here, from "Anthony T.", say she is rude and ridicules her way of running a business. Well sir I can assure you, you are no match for her. Her business's, that's right plural, are clearly doing something right because they have been going strong for many years now. May I ask how many you have? In order to be successful, you must be stern sometimes and be able to learn from your mistakes. If any of those vendors had a problem, they wouldn't be coming back each weekend. So please don't bother listening to a fool who got his feelings hurt. This market is fun and full of the best products you can think of
Cody J — Google review
There's no variety. Seems like the same vendors just different day. They need to change it up. Not much for veggies and not much of anything. The Honduran coffee was delicious.
Teresa E — Google review
This is the largest Farmer’s Market in the South Austin area, at least that I am aware of. A Saturday morning visit to this market is a great family or date activity any time of the year. They have a diverse selection of vendors; from baked goods to produce, all the way to CBD and candles. Many people bring their dogs along to stroll around the many vendor tents. There is also a fantastic view of the downtown Austin skyline and plenty of parking.
Chris S — Google review
I love this market. Do not miss Peace cheese - the best vegan cheese. This is such a laid back market. Beautiful produce, great breads, live plants, kombucha, artisan chocolate, locally raised meat, handmade soaps and more. Quiet relaxing music, great parking.

The White Horse is a lively honky-tonk in Austin's Eastside, drawing in both locals and visitors looking for a traditional Texas experience. With live country music and a relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to enjoy some boot-scootin' without feeling out of place. The venue hosts top-notch bluegrass, country-western, and Americana bands on Wednesday nights, attracting enthusiastic dancers showcasing their moves.
Taco truck out back is amazing. Despite being out of a few things the alternatives were just as good. Margaritas on tap. Good outdoor seating. And the line dancing lessons were fun despite being crowded.

Cute spot, the band was really good, the tacos outside are really yummy- I got the Al pastor (no onions) and veggie mushroom and potatoes. They were a good size and tasty. I would come back here with a group. It was nice that they had free entry before 7:30, but no re-entry after that time without paying cover charge.
Emiliya B — Google review
Visiting The White Horse in Austin was such an incredible experience and easily one of the highlights of my trip. This spot truly captures the heart and soul of Texas nightlife. From the moment I walked in, the energy was contagious — a mix of locals and visitors all coming together to enjoy a good time. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool, laid-back yet full of life, making it the perfect place to spend a night out. The live country music is without a doubt the star of the show. The bands that play here are phenomenal, delivering authentic sounds that make you want to hit the dance floor immediately. Whether you’re an experienced two-stepper or just watching from the sidelines, it’s impossible not to get swept up in the rhythm and vibe of the crowd. On top of the music, the drinks were excellent. The bartenders know how to mix strong, tasty cocktails, and the beer selection is spot on for a night of dancing and hanging out. Prices are very reasonable too, which only adds to the charm. Overall, The White Horse is more than just a bar — it’s an experience. Great music, great drinks, and an atmosphere that’s truly Austin. I can’t wait to go back.

Sundaze, a popular food truck located in South Austin's South Lamar District, is known for its delicious fried chicken sandwiches and nuggets, with options available for both vegans and non-vegans. Founded by sisters Raine and Kara Hopper in 2016, the food trailer has gained a loyal following for its high-quality vegan chicken sandwiches. Despite initially offering vegan options due to a broken fryer, these dishes have become customer favorites.
The no freaking chicken was amazing!!! I would highly recommend this place to get your vegan "chicken" sandwich fix. Will definitely go again. Updated: This place is still amazing!!
David H — Google review
The sandwich was amazing! I really liked the seitan chicken pattie it has a nice crispy outer chrunch. My fries were overcooked but they're usually really good. I also ordered Buffalo bites and received a sandwich then the guy said oh you must've said it wrong but it was printed clearly Buffalo bites on the bag receipt. The first time I tried the lil nugs I flooded my mini cooper on Clawson 😭😢
Krystal S — Google review
They never answer the phone and run out of food a little too often. There’s usually only one person working the whole food truck. If you can’t keep up with business maybe it’s a good idea to have multiple people working on a shift. The food is good. Too pricy imo for what you get.

The best vegan chicken sandwich. Tender seitan, breaded with a flavorful and crispy coating-,fried to perfection. Affordable and delicious! We just discovered our new favorite sandwich spot!

Pretty limited menu but other than that, incredible vegan and non vegan chicken sandwiches. Both are universally well received in my experience. $7.50 a sandwich and great fries and sauces. Make sure to ask for toppings on your sandwich.

Good place for vegans and non vegans alike! I love all their sauce options. The nugs are my fave but I struggle each time on making a decision on what to order :)
Bridget — Google review
Second time having the delicious buffalo bites, and I think it's safe to say I'm hooked. All the sauces are exceptionally good. I just tried the peach n' sour, and that is a sophisticated sauce. Lot of depth to the flavor. This is definitely a vegan destination as they don't currently have chicken available at least not to my knowledge, but vegan or not, you are in for a treat. Even the fries are fantastic. They remind me of hometown burger joint fries from down in South Texas. Thanks for giving an otherwise tedious week some flavor!
Ariel S — Google review
Vegan fried chicken for the win! Their chicken is super moist and delicious. It's a thinner patty and thinner fry than I expected from fried chicken but it was tasty nonetheless. Their vegan sauces are really good too, ranging from the sweet and sour peach to the spicy and sweet habanero punisher to the creamy ranch. Gotta try them all! Their fries are awesome too! Perfect fry, crisp, and saltiness!

Torchy's Tacos is a local chain known for its inventive Mexican-street-food-style tacos, including breakfast options. Despite being 250 miles away from home, the original location was surprisingly uncrowded at 11:30 am. The chicken tacos with green sauce were excellent, and the addition of hot sauce on the tables could add an interesting touch to the experience. A visit to Torchy's always guarantees delicious taco creations, such as the migas on flour with added brisket.
Excellent place for tasty tacos. They have a good selection of tacos and salsas to add spice to your desires. Place was clean, well lit, and had a nice decor. This was my first time here and enjoyed my visit for sure!

We heard a few recommendations to visit Torchy's Tacos, and I'm glad we made the trip here! Their brisket tacos were very flavorful and tasty. Their prices were also very reasonable which made the experience that much better. I didn't have their spiciest taco, but it had a good kick to it. Also their hot sauces were delicious.

Above average Tex mex craft tacos at best. Solid chain and maintains certain level of quality across the board. However, nothing crazy about this spot. Staff was great and I would recommend going for a quick bite. The bar is pretty big and great for large groups as well.

I walked in for breakfast on a Friday morning. The place is obviously decorated to please the college crowd. I looked over the menu and ordered 1 Miga and 1 Wranler taco. The price on the menu is for one taco. I thought the price was a little high for a single taco. I knew I made the right choice with my first bite. The brisket in the Wrangler taco was phenomenal, and the vegetarian Miga taco was just as delicious! I may be back for supper today. 🤔

The restaurant is located down town. I loved the outside of the building first. Started taking pictures immediately! I had been putting off going because people were saying they were good but a little pricey BUT now I know it was well worth the trip! Ordered 4 tacos, 2 drinks, chips and guacamole - $27.00. I even went back and bought a T-shirt. So soft and cute! The food was fresh and visually appealing along with being delicious! I had a Mexican diet coke with stevia and I liked it. The restaurant inside was clean and visually appealing...started taking pictures immediately...again. Overall a good experience and I would go back!

This Torchy’s Tacos branch is close to my office so I go there more often. The quality of food is always the same. So far I’ve tried fish taco, Wrangler, Baja shrimps taco, Chicken bbq, brisket, Monk special, Crossroads, Democrat, Chicken Fajita, and of course the Guac with chips. All of them were good and delicious. I highly recommend them if you want to have a good taco experience.

Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ is a permanent trailer known for its mesquite-smoked BBQ with a Tex Mex twist. It offers a contemporary take on Tex-Mex cuisine, featuring dishes like smoked brisket tacos with serrano salsa, pulled chicken with guacamole, and carnitas. The establishment also serves traditional Texas BBQ favorites such as charred meats and a commitment to local and organic ingredients.
Wow! The tacos were amazing! Didn’t expect to have such huge tacos! The pulled pork tacos was out of this world. The chicken taco was exceptional too! The brisket is good, perhaps a bit dry, but well flavoured. Still one of the better briskets I tried. If you are around the area definitely hit this spot up. Definitely worth the trip! They open quite early at 7:30 am so perfect for breakfast too! Super recommended!

I don’t think I can say say enough great things about this place in one review. I have wanted to come to Valentina’s for years now. I heard so many great things about the food and the staff that I knew it was a must hit on my stop in Austin. They have one of the best briskets that I have ever had if not the best. They didn’t disappoint in any way. The food was better then I ever thought it could be and the flavors that there crew and pitmaster make are nothing short of incredible. It truly is Tex Mex Art that they making. Thank you so much to Everyone at Valentines for making our visit so amazing and we can’t wait to go back. If you could only make one stop in all of Texas this should be it.

The wait wasn't too bad on a Thursday mid-morning, about 25 minutes, they had a variety of selections, mains and sides, friendly service and really good pork short ribs, brisket and carnitas. Their tacos are a really good size and they have multiple size selections for their sides/appetizers. Their chips are really good, hearty enough to hold their delicious queso, ensure you get the extra brisket! The flour tortillas they use for their tacos as well as the Buns for their sandwiches are so soft!
Patty F — Google review
This place single handedly changed my opinion of Tex Mex food. Get here as soon as they open because the line to order and wait after ordering can be 2+ hours long! It’s worth the wait. I would recommend looking at their daily menu for their unique menu items of the day and getting a classic brisket tacos. The sides are great as well, highly recommended the corn.
Erica M — Google review
This is a brand new build, building and area are beautiful. I'm not from Austin . Valentine's was a recommendation for breakfast tacos Everything was homemade from the tortilla to the slice of brisket. I ordered "The Real Deal Holyfield." it was a little pricey, especially if you're from the Houston area, where we pay $1.99 for a breakfast taco. But let me tell you, I'd pay it again it was that good. Try it and let me know what you think, I'll be waiting for your feedback.
Elizabeth B — Google review
We arrived for lunch and found ample parking available. A line had already formed, but it only took about 10 to fifteen minutes before we ordered. It was a nice day, and we sat in a small covered outdoor area, but there's also indoor seating. This was my first time here, and it didn't disappoint. All three of my holy trinity items (brisket, pork rib, and sausage link) were worth the drive! The brisket taco, "Hollywood Style", was excellent as well! When picking your sides, be sure to include the chips and queso!
Tim T — Google review
I wanted to love this BBQ but I left only liking it a lot. I see why it's praised. The brisket is rich, the ribs are sweet and savory, and the chicken retains it's juicyness. However, the brisket was somewhat dry, the ribs lacked texture, and the chicken tasted like chicken. The tacos are all very good, but I don't see what the fuss is about. Very good is not great, and there are many very good tacos in Texas. I plan to return for breakfast options because I'm excited to fully explore their menu. I left without a favorite because nothing stood out. At the level of BBQ Valentina's aims for, more thoughtful critique is necessary. So, it's very good BBQ, but this isn't a show stopper yet. As of this review on 8/11/22, only the food truck is taking orders and there's limited shade against the sun while waiting in line.
Michael B — Google review
Valentina's did not disappoint! All the food was delicious, nothing to complain about! The ribs were perfectly smoked, the brisket on the Brisket Taco melted like butter, the Roasted Corn and Charro Beans were good as well! You should definitely give this place a try if you are in the Austin area! 👍🏽 To boot the staff were all very friendly and helpful! Feels good to be greeted by cheerful people!

Tacodeli is an Austin-based taqueria chain that offers a variety of meat, seafood, and vegetarian options, including a breakfast menu. It's known for serving some of the best breakfast tacos in town and has multiple locations, including one at the airport. The food is described as flavorful and delicious, with recommendations for various tacos and Mexican street corn. While it's considered a staple of Austin with fantastic food overall, some suggest that the airport experience may not fully capture its essence.
After nearly a dozen trips to Austin, I can't believe I'd never had Tacodeli until now! This place is absolutely delicious, and I ate there three times on my most recent six day trip to the city. Each time I had something different, all equally delicious. I could totally eat my way through the entire menu! This place is sort of like a mashup of Velvet Taco and Torchy's, but it's better than both. I really like the limited menu, and there are lots of vegetarian and vegan options to make everyone happy! My favorite taco actually was the Vegan, because the black beans are crazy good. Like SUPER tasty! I also like that you can choose corn, flour, or wheat tortillas, and they are made with avocado oil. In fact, most of the menu items seem to be healthier than your typical taco spot, and I also appreciate how the restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients. These are high quality tacos. Prices are in line with most gourmet taco places, think $4.50- $6 per taco. I found two tacos was more than enough for a filling meal, but bigger eaters may want to get an extra. My husband tried the meat and chicken tacos and said they were all good. The shrimp was the weakest, but it was still yummy. The sodas are local and artisan, but they offer free refills. There's a small salsa bar with some yummy sauces as well as big, fresh limes (my favorite). Outdoor seating is plentiful, and the employees are super friendly. Even though the restaurant has a small attached lot, parking is a pain, but you can sometimes find a spot on the nearby neighborhood streets (watch the no parking zones). Also note that if you come during busy mealtimes, you need to be prepared to wait anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. It's worth it for freshly prepared gourmet tacos, though!
L M — Google review
Tacodeli is one of my go-to spots in Austin for fresh, flavorful tacos. The ingredients always taste high-quality, and the salsas add the perfect kick I especially love trying the different spice levels. It’s casual and quick but never feels rushed, and the food is consistently satisfying. Perfect for breakfast or lunch when you want something delicious and local. 10\10

I didn't catch the name of the guy who rang us up on Friday morning but he was the friendliest guy and we had such a great interaction with him!! Great food and great service all around. I was a Texan visiting from Florida and it felt like a home welcoming, and then the food was amazing! It really hit the spot and set the tone for our trip! It's hard to find good breakfast tacos like this outside of TX
Mya D — Google review
This Tacodeli is perfectly located next to the trails, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. While the chips weren't fresh-made (though still crispy with four salsa options), the Cowboy taco truly shone with its delicious, well-seasoned, and tender steak.

We went here for Friday night dinner and were surprised to find the place almost empty. We had the outdoor patio all to ourselves and we are not complaining. The food was excellent. I had the cowboy and the caulibella and my husband had the freaking vegan. All our tacos were excellent. We loved that this location also has an access to the Barton creek trail and we walked our dinner off after! Our dog enjoyed the patio and the experience here as well!

Vibe, food, service - all top notch! The breakfast tacos are a must!! Migas eggs are amazing… Also, although it’s not the focus when coming here, I think it’s worth noting that the Pink Drink is the closest thing to the Starbucks Strawberry Acai Refresher we have had - definitely give it a try! Also, being able to add honey to my coffee was a nice touch! The little things here add up, which makes this Tacodeli location a best choice for breakfast tacos in Austin.

I dropped in here (well, dropped im for takeaway) several times. It only opens early evening, but keeps going until the small hours. The pizzas are fabulous, and after a few visits, this being my first visit to Austin, I felt very welcomed. Very tasty! 🍕

Great spot to get food around 9 PM on 6th street. The pizza slice was very big and the crust had a crisp to it, which was really nice. In the back, there was seating area that made you feel like you were in New York, which was pretty cool. The people working there were super nice, and had a great attitude.
Regina K — Google review
It’s a good street pizza. I think their storefront location close to campus tastes better, but still better than a chain pizza. Service was great… but it is pricey. I think it was like $7 for one slice. But hey when you don’t have competition you can charge it. And if you don’t want to eat there, don’t. I’m sure the rent for that location is extremely expensive

Late night pizza place when hanging out on 6th Street. Great- quick service. Reasonable pricing. The crust was a little chewy for my liking, however it tasted really good. Overall for some quick food and a nice big slice- I'd totally come here. Many different options in their cases. Yes, they do reheat the pie when you order. Although, it seemed to be done in an actual oven and not in a microwave or anything like that.

Wow wow wow one bite-everybody knows the rules! This pizza size was incredible! Served on a busy 6th street in downtown Austin. 2 locations right down the street from each other makes sense because it’s busy and very good pizza. Great undercarriage, no flop, crispy and piping hot pizza served in clsssic pepperoni, meat lovers, Hawaiian and a bunch of others. At $6.50 a slice it’s expensive, but worth it. I wanted to try an entire pie.

What a wonderful taco dive! The employees were so attentive. Margaritas on the rocks truly rocked! Loved the triple appetizer with the award winning queso (10 star), great guacamole and choice of salsa (Roja or tomatillo). The corn tortillas are possibly the best I’ve ever had. Torchy is in Austin fan, favorite, and for good reason. They have been immensely popular because of their interesting array of tacos, and fun names to go along with them. This particular location is nice, and has some nice outdoor seating along with a handful of inside tables too.It is near Mesa on Spicewood Springs, but you can only access it from the westbound lands of Spicewood Springs. There are a lot of trees out front so if you’re not looking, you could drive right past it.

This Torchy's location has really nice outdoor seating. Inside is small and gives old Austin vibes, which I love. The food was ok, I havent been to Torchy's in a while and maybe there have been some recipe changes, but the poblano ranch and Baja shrimp taco toppings (mainly the pickled items) didnt taste very good. I also tried to order a Mexican candy margarita, the cashier said "we dont have Mexican candy, we have tajin, sugar and salt." I understand that not all location may have all menu items, but there was also no drink menu posted to say what this location had.

THE best breakfast around. So fresh, so fast, and so good, every damn time. The staff are also amazing and super hardworking. A lot goes into the quality they put out here. Much respect.

Lovely casual taco place! I'm from out of town and Torchy's came at the recommendation of a friend who had spent several years in Austin for school. Highly recommend the breakfast tacos and the street corn! The fried avocado was great too. Will 100% be stopping here again next time I am in Austin.

Im not sure how I put 2 stars. I meant to put 5 stars. I thought it was incredible! I was trying to make it back up there tonight but it closed before I could get there. The staff were super nice and helpful. The food was mind blowing.
