Cuban restaurant
La Isla Downtown is a classic Cuban diner located in Hoboken, offering budget-friendly Cuban classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The downtown location features brightly colored wallpaper and an eat-in counter with swivel stools. It's known for its excellent Cubanos and incredible people-watching, attracting a diverse crowd from local day workers to Wall Street commuters. The restaurant operates on a BYO policy, adding to its appeal.
Fantastic cuban restaurant with amazing sauces, delicious tender meat and fresh flavorful vegetables. I have loved this place every time I come here! Service is fast and friendly too.

Food was appetizing here 😋 we ordered the chicken in garlic sauce and the chicken Milanese. The garlic chicken was savory and super flavorful with the garlic not being overpowering to the taste buds. The chicken Milanese had a lot topped on which didn’t really make the plate better or worse. For an appetizer, I tried a croqueta which was made perfectly. 👌🏼they give big portions of the protein and small sides of rice - 🍚 good ratio to allow more room for the delicious food. 😌 service was efficient, prompt, & friendly. Ambiance was nicely decorated for a Cuban restaurant although the establishment is a little in the small side. Street parking can be difficult depending on the time. Overall great dining experience and will come be coming back.

Came here for breakfast while staying in Hoboken. It’s a small spot but great vibes and music. We sat at the counter and were greeted quickly. We didn’t try the coffee as we had some beforehand, but ordered some entrees. I had the tortilla española, which was delicious and full of potato and chorizo. My friend had huevos rancheros which came out looking great, but unfortunately it wasn’t very warm. Still had good flavor. The pecan wood smoked bacon is must! Would come back, especially for a Cuban coffee!
Alexandra K — Google review
Fun diner atmosphere, excellent Cuban food. For appetizers, we split the shrimp ceviche and montaditos, which is a surf and turf like combo of chorizo, spinach and shrimp on top of a crispy tostone. The montadito was unique and really hit the spot as I was starving. For mains, we had churrasco, pescado frito and ropa veija. All the dishes were delicious and filling, with plenty of fried plantains and arroz leftover. Service was amazing too, made it a special evening out for a birthday celebration.

I've been a loyal customer of La Isla Downtown for two decades, and it remains one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Hoboken. The quality and taste have been consistently amazing all these years. The food is always fantastic. They offer daily specials, and while you might see some repeat during the week, you can always count on fresh vegetables and delicious, high-quality meat. My personal, all-time favorite is the oxtail – it's simply a must-try! The shrimp is also always incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. The outdoor seating consists of about six 4-person tables set up right on the street. It's not a private patio but a more casual, open space, meaning people walking by are right there and can easily see what you're enjoying. Despite it being windy sometimes, it's a good option for outdoor dining, and the fact that it's dog-friendly is a huge plus for us! A couple of tips for new visitors: The restaurant is BYOB, so you can bring your favorite bottle of wine or beer to enjoy with your meal. Also, they don't take reservations, so I recommend timing your visit to avoid a wait, as it's a popular spot. After 20 years, La Isla continues to be a place I highly recommend for authentic, delicious food and a wonderful dining experience.
KEVIN — Google review
I love this restaurant for dine and take out too. It has a cozy ambiance and stool seats remind me of a old school diner. Outdoor seating is available too! I got the El Cubano and it was amazing!
Marissa S — Google review
Who would have thought you could find a delicious Cuban diner in the midst of Hoboken? Not me! So this is such a pleasant surprise. The food is good, and the vibe is better! I love the traditional diner vibe indoors with so many Cuban decorations!
Shako L — Google review
I came into La Isla in Hoboken to grab a simple empanada, but the experience was terrible. First off, $6 for one empanada is way overpriced, especially since I usually get it with their mojito sauce and expected better service. When I asked about the sauce, the woman behind the counter was extremely rude. She kept brushing me off while I was talking, and at one point even shushed me — completely unprofessional and out of control. Only after she realized I was upset did she suddenly try to change her attitude, but by then it was too late. I was so upset that after paying for the $6 empanada, I just walked outside and left it on the table in front of the restaurant. That’s how bad the service was — I didn’t even want to eat it. The food might be fine, but honestly it’s not worth dealing with that kind of attitude. If you want good food and respectful service, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants in Hoboken that actually value their customers.

Bar
Pilsener Haus & Biergarten in Hoboken, NJ offers a taste of Austrian-Hungarian cuisine with communal indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is reminiscent of old-world charm and provides a wide selection of over 70 beers on draft and in bottles. It's a popular spot for groups, offering large family-style dining tables perfect for gathering with friends. On weekends, the venue attracts families as well as those looking to enjoy Bavarian pretzels and European beer selections.
Went on an absolutely beautiful day and they had plenty of outdoor seating with shade. You can tell this place is football central as they have a large section of the wall painted white for a projector during big matches. Their food is good. I had the curry sausage and my partner had the veal schnitzel. Both were good, not great. I've gone to places with better German food, but I think that this is a place where you go when you want to watch a football match, be outdoors or just want to drink with buddies...and yes, by the way, they happen to have decent food to soak up the alcohol. The location is great if you are in Manhattan and want to escape the island for a bit.
Ronald R — Google review
I’ve noticed a big improvement in the food quality recently, which is great! The new mobile ordering system is super convenient and made the whole experience smoother. However, the prices have gone up a bit, so I’m giving it 4 stars. Still a great spot for drinks and bites!
Yoohan K — Google review
Used to be our favorite spot in Hoboken where we would go every month, but unfortunately it went south recently. Last time we went there it took forever to get our order and in the end they made mistake in our receipt. But overall atmosphere is lovely. I would recommend this spot for dinner/drinks with friends. Beer selection is huge if you like beer. Our favorite is buffalo wings!! It’s delicious and we order it every time we go there!
Ivanna K — Google review
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I was finally able to try it and I gotta say, it was out of this world. The pierogi were perfectly cooked and amazing, the kielbasa was extremely delicious with a nice crisp in each bite, and bratwurst handheld was a simple yet tasty joy on ciabatta bread. I loved the atmosphere and the older vibe/style to it. Everyone was extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Though on the pricy end, this was well worth the experience. Highly recommend this place!
Sandra S — Google review
There are a ton of beer options available in both half and full liter sizes. They also have a decent sized wine list. Food was great. Highly recommend the bratwurst and potato pancakes. They have outdoor seating with furnaces and plenty of space indoors. Great service and really solid menu.
Fred T — Google review
The Pilsener Haus & Biergarten has communal style tables, but despite that me and my husband were still able to have an intimate dinner in their outdoor seating area! For your reference, the bill for our dinner (2 beers, 1 appetizer, 2 mains, 1 dessert) was $89.57 with tax. The food was incredibly good, the fries were a bit stale and the main reason for my lower review, as I believe they should match the quality of the rest of the food if they are going to be served as a side for everything.. the potato pancakes were infinitely better in our opinion. Weirdly enough, our favorite thing from the night was the pulled pork my husband ordered, I usually don’t even like it but theirs was incredibly tender and juicy. I was skeptical about the bread pudding, but it turned out delicious.
Hannah C — Google review
Excellent authentic German cuisine with the brew to back it up. Does not disappoint if you dont mind an authentic bier hall seating arrangement. Sometimes finding seating for you and your Honey may be difficult at peak times. Good food with NYC pricing. Be prepared. Oh, and you must order the pretzel! UPDATE: it's been 5 years since I have been here. Just as good if not better than the first time. Ordered soup to nuts with some family. Great time, good beer and virtues. Visited on Half Price Monday, where 90% of the menu is 50% off.

We spent a sunny, end-of-summer afternoon in the garden and had a great time. They use an online system to order and keep track of your tab, which was great. Food and drinks turn up very quickly after you order. Of course you can place orders with the staff if you prefer, and everyone there was super friendly and professional. I had several of the Oktoberfest beers which are a good deal when you factor in that you can order a liter or half-liter. We also had several starters including the pierogis, potato pancakes, and of course a pretzel, as well as a bratwurst on a nice brioche roll. Music and vibe of the garden were excellent. The interior is huge and has TVs showing all the games. Probably because we were there during the day, there were lots of dogs and babies at the dogs around us (whether that's a positive or negative is up to you!)

Indian restaurant
Bar
Karma Kafe is a cozy Indian bistro located near Hoboken, NJ, offering generous portions and a lunch buffet. The restaurant serves classic dishes like samosas, chicken tikka masala, and lamb curry alongside tandoori breads, biryanis, and vegetarian options. With sidewalk seating and a small dining area, it's perfect for grabbing a quick dinner or enjoying takeout and delivery. Customers praise the fresh and flavorful food as well as the attentive service.
I walked in without making reservation, the restaurant was busy with a great buzzing atmosphere inside and out. I have to commend this restaurant for being very well run. Their kitchen was operating like clockwork. The water was refilled often, the quick arrival of popadoms after being seated, overall a good time between courses. The service could have been a bit more personal but they were busy. I had the Samosa Chaat appetiser which was big and tasted good. For entree the chicken tikka masala was also very good, good quality chicken and authentic taste. I needed a to go box the portions are good. I opted for no rice because their naan bread looked good on another table so had to try it. My only suggestion would be to make the to-go orders (of which there were many, many drivers collecting) operate towards the front of the restaurant to not disrupt the ambiance with all the coming and going. A good problem to have as a restaurant operator these days.
Steve M — Google review
The food was great from what we ordered. There could have been more vegetarian appetizers but we had veggie sampler, which was great. We had paneer kadai and dal makhni and I did enjoy the panner more. The dal makhni could have a bit better. The naan was perfect and buttery. Overall, good experience and quality food. The service was pretty good as well, as they made sure we enjoyed our food. The interior of the restaurant was nice as well.
Kaushal A — Google review
They served us a beer that expired eight months ago!!! I noticed that other customers have also mentioned this issue in their reviews. The staff seems to be aware of it and is intentionally selling expired products, which is absolutely unacceptable! Aside from the beer issue, my overall experience was fine. The staff was very friendly, calm, and accommodating. They were helpful in assisting us with our food choices and answered all our questions. The food was average; some items were better than others, while a few were not as flavorful as I had expected. Portions are quite big and probably ordering one plate for two is more reasonable. Tip was included in the check.
David C — Google review
We came to eat in a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Our meal was well presented and delicious, also the kids meal offers a nice combination of meat and veggies with a mango shake included in the price, we were very impressed by this. The service was quick and server was kind. The only thing we did not like is the little surprise we had in the end when we paid our bill. Without previously letting us know, there was a gratuity charge of 15% on our bill. I think they should left it to the discretion of the customers to leave a tip like other restaurants do.

Disappointing Experience at Karma Kafe, Hoboken We had reservations at Karma Kafe and were initially excited to try their Indian cuisine. We ordered the Malai Tikka and Biryani, portion sizes were generous and pricing seemed expensive. While the flavors weren’t authentic, they were still enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. We were served beer that had expired six months ago. I noticed after a couple of sips and brought it to their attention, but the staff showed no remorse and were outright rude. We also tried the Sitaphal ice cream, which was a complete letdown, it lacked any actual Sitaphal flavor and tasted nothing like what was advertised. The food took around 30 minutes to arrive, which felt excessive given the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. They did serve complimentary papad, but that was the only redeeming gesture. The real issue came with the bill. A 15% gratuity was automatically added, even though their menu clearly states it applies only to parties of four or more, we were just two. When questioned, the manager claimed their staff works solely on tips and insisted we pay, saying other restaurants charge 25% and they were being “generous.” The attitude was dismissive and aggressive, and the service was far from deserving of any tip. We ended up paying $60, including a $10 service fee for what was frankly one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had. The staff was demanding, the environment felt unsafe, and the customer service was appalling. I will not be returning to Karma Kafe and would strongly caution others before dining here.
Simran R — Google review
Karma Kafe never disappoints. The food is bursting with rich, authentic Indian flavors and every bite tastes freshly made and perfectly seasoned. You can tell they use high quality ingredients, and the portion sizes are generous, so you definitely get great value for your money. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, perfect for a casual dinner or date night. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel genuinely welcome. Whether you dine in or take out, the quality is always excellent.
Aisha C — Google review
Recently ordered takeout from Karma Kafe with high expectations for some solid Indian cuisine, but unfortunately, the experience was not what we were not expecting. I tried the Mutton Biryani and the Tandoori Pomfret. Both dishes were very underwhelming. The biryani came with raisins and cashew nuts which might appeal to some, but personally it threw off the flavor and wasn’t the vibe we were hoping for. The overall taste was flat and didn’t have the flavors you'd expect from a good biryani. As for the Tandoori Pomfret, I had specifically asked for it to be well done, but it ended up being burnt also had no other flavor or taste but only could taste salt. Fish came with basmati rice which felt under cooked. The char went beyond into bitter taste, which unfortunately made the dish unpleasant. I do say the food was very average at best, and I probably wouldn’t go back based on this experience. Hoping they can fine tune their flavors and quality going forward.

Solid lamb vindaloo, sufficiently spicy but could be spicier. Malai Kofta was creamy and delicious. Indian Masala Soda was cool.

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Hoboken, Augustino's is a beloved Southern Italian eatery that captures the essence of traditional cuisine with its vibrant atmosphere and hearty portions. The restaurant boasts an eclectic decor featuring distressed brick walls adorned with vintage mirrors, custom Devils jerseys, and nostalgic photos that pay homage to local legends.
Best Italian restaurant in Hoboken! I called a week in advance and got a 5:30 reservation on a Monday. The ladies that work here are very sweet and helpful! Can’t wait to go back. The gnocchi bolognese was our favorite and we inhaled Buddy’s lasagna. Don’t miss the ice box cake for dessert.
Erin B — Google review
This place is a Hoboken institution and a throwback to the good old days of cash only and family owned Italian joints in Jersey. Service is great and the vibe is too. The table is hard to get but if you call they usually have some last minute cancellations or tables earlier in the night. You can also try to sit at the bar. The food, is classic red sauce options. I must admit though was a little disappointed in everything but the shrimp in garlic and wine sauce, which was sublime. We also had the pork chop, chicken parm, chicken piccata, meatballs , and carbonara.
Jonathan G — Google review
Best chicken parm of my life, sauce, chicken, cheese, pasta, just insanely good. “Sunday sauce” rigatoni dish also incredible with the meat set aside. Fra diablo lobster tails and mussels with linguine also perfectly spicy and ridiculously good. The bread is freshly baked and just crazy delicious. The ice cream “affogato” dessert was amazing. I think the key is the best red sauce you’ll ever taste in your life. Denise at the bar made us feel like we were eating at home. All the one star reviews are people who just don’t get how these small family style places operate. Be on time and bring the cash, and be very polite, like you’re visiting your Italian grandma, not eating at Il Mulino. If you love incredibly good Italian food and want that “home style” atmosphere and cooking (and don’t mind putting on a couple pounds) this is the place. Definitely worth the trip from Manhattan.

Review for Augustino’s – Disappointing First Impressions That Matter Bottom line: We were foodies that came far to visit. We did not like how you were saying it, how you were laughing — it was weird! Unfortunately, our experience at Augustino’s was not welcoming. As first-time walk-in guests, we were surprised by the cold and somewhat intimidating reception from the front staff. While I understand every business has its policies, how they’re communicated matters just as much as the rules themselves. The approach taken came off as harsh and uninviting rather than informative or friendly. It might help if a more approachable staff member—perhaps someone with a naturally warm demeanor—handled guest interactions. First impressions shape the entire visit, and this one set a negative tone before we even sat down. Also, the policy around card vs. cash payments felt unnecessarily rigid. A small discount for cash-paying customers might ease that, but better still would be clarity and kindness when explaining these rules upfront. We walked quite a distance to try this place, so the letdown was more than just minor. A bit more hospitality and flexibility could really go a long way—especially for new visitors. Feedback like this may seem small, but over time, repeated experiences like ours will affect the restaurant’s reputation across platforms.
L W — Google review
I stopped by in person to inquire about a reservation and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience with the staff member handling bookings. Upon greeting her, I politely acknowledged that reservations are often difficult to secure here and asked when the next available table might be. Rather than assisting, she responded curtly with, “What day or date?” When I explained that any evening would work, she repeated the same question with visible impatience. After I suggested Thursday or Friday—while clarifying that weekdays were also fine since we live nearby—she flipped through the reservation book abruptly and stated those days were unavailable. When I again asked if she could tell me the next open slot, she simply repeated, “I need a day or date,” in an unhelpful and dismissive tone. No matter how great the food may be, an experience begins with hospitality, and the lack of courtesy at the reservation stage left a lasting negative impression. It’s disappointing that such an acclaimed restaurant allows such unprofessional service at the very first point of contact.
Jodie S — Google review
Food - average. Service - we arrived for a 6:30 reservation - our wedding anniversary, I sat down, then was asked to move to a different table - all while my husband was parking the car. He walked in at 6:45. At this time we were told we couldn't order anything on the bone/ sauteed on the bone because we were late and wouldn't have time. We were rushed to order everything else. At the end - we were done 15 min early. It was the most unpleasant, sit down, big important date celebration I have ever experienced.
Anna F — Google review
This place is amazing - very delicious food, very nice ambience and vibe. It is quite small so you should make a reservation in advance - walk ins can be difficult simply because there isn’t much space. The food is absolutely amazing - definitely check it out!

I can’t believe that I lived in Hoboken for 10+ years without ever going here. It’s fantastic. The second I walked though the door, I knew by the aromas in the dining room, I was in for a night of good food. We (thankfully) got to taste everyone’s dishes and everything was exceptional. Veal picatta, chicken parm, lamb chops and GIANT veal chops were all so flavorful and well prepared. We also had the juiciest meatballs and the calamari (and its tomato sauce) was the best I’ve ever had. Great servers with sass! Make a rez and go.

Blue Eyes is a modern Italian restaurant and cafe located on the Hoboken Hudson River waterfront, offering stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. The eatery celebrates the legacy of Frank Sinatra, Hoboken's famous native son, while serving up traditional Italian cuisine cooked in a wood-fired oven. With a riverfront patio and raw bar facing the Hudson, Blue Eyes provides an ideal setting to enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks while taking in the picturesque scenery.
One of the best italian restaurant!! As an Italian, the quality of the food is great and the atmosphere is even better! You enjoy the real Italian food with fresh ingredients in a warm environment that makes you feel at home! The view is great and it’s absolutely worthy to go and enjoy a spritz and pizza or pasta!

The food was actually really good - especially the pizza. However, the service was quite disappointing. When we walked in, the staff just stared without saying anything. Also, when we asked for the check, they started clearing the table. While wiping it down, they PUSHED TRASH TOWARD ME — ESPECIALLY ONTO MY SKIRT — and some of it EVEN FELL ON ME. Still, NO APOLOGY. Good food, but the service REALLY NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.

Most importantly: I AM CELIAC. I can’t have gluten because I’m currently undergoing treatment. I ordered a gluten-free pasta, but when I was almost done eating, I started having a reaction—my neck and arms began to itch. I flagged down another waitress (since ours wasn’t paying much attention to us), and she went to double-check with him. When she asked him, he looked surprised, checked the order tab, spoke to the manager/owner, and then came back to tell me HE WASN’T SURE if it was gluten-free—because sometimes he asks the kitchen, and they don’t do it. He took my plate away and said I could have the chicken that was already on my plate, and even offered me a gluten-free pizza “on him.” But by then, I had lost my appetite and declined. On top of that, my friends and I waited an hour for our drinks—mine was just a simple sparkling water. We ended up ordering dessert first because the main course was taking so long and we were all starving. No manager came over to apologize or even acknowledge what had happened. To make matters worse, after this whole terrible experience, they acted like they were doing me a favor by “not charging” for my pasta, but still charged $10 for two tiny chicken breasts. (Meanwhile, my friend ordered the same dish and got four large pieces—clearly, there’s no consistency in portion sizes.) We all had dessert, and they told us, “We’re not charging for the dessert, but please don’t tell anyone.” So many other things went wrong, but I’ll leave it to my friends to share their sides—otherwise, I could write an entire essay about how bad this was.

Food was really good but the service leaves a lot to be the desired. The hostess somewhat escorted us to our table but put the menus down and walked off without saying a word so I had to guess what our table was. Second, had to flag down waiter most of the times to order something. Third, while seated the waitress was talking loudly behind me to a friend on the outside of the restaurant like I wasn't even there. This place is a one and done kind of place.

I stopped in for a beer while waiting for my friends to come in from North Jersey. I was greeted at the bar by Stefany who rules the bar with grace and professionalism and keeps a close eye on the needs of all customers. Lorenzo dances like an expert meistro around the brick oven turning out all sorts of baked delicacies. Serving the tables with a beautiful smile was Nina from Montenegro. My quick beer turned into a wonderful early evening experience. Thank you Stefany!

Napoli's Pizza is a cozy eatery that serves brick-oven Neapolitan pies and traditional Italian dishes like pasta, heroes, and panini. With two locations in Hoboken, it offers ample seating for customers to enjoy a wholesome Sunday supper experience. The pizza is exceptional, with the owner having worked at Lombardis before opening up their own spot. Calzones, pasta dishes, and sandwiches are also highly recommended.
As a self-pronounced pizza connoisseur, I must say, Napoli's Pizza is definitely offering up an excellent and delicious variety of Italian pizza. The staff is entirely friendly and accommodating (Chrystal is awesome), they're always attentive and ready to help you decide on your order. The lunch specials are an amazing value so stop by between 11:00 am - 4:00 pm, or come any time you'd like! The pizza is amazing 👍🏼👍🏼 !! I'll be back for more 😋

This place I’ve been coming to since me and my fiancée seen it next to Maroon Creamery and I can say that those two places have never disappointed us. The pizza taste is fresh and authentic, the staff is always organized, and they all have a great attitude. The creative pizzas they have are exceptional and I know they will definitely become one of the big staples of Hoboken that will always have a line and no single slices after 6pm. GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN !!

I went to Napoli Pizza for dining and we tried their ravioli dish along with a small pizza. The raviolis were delicious, perfectly cooked with a rich filling and flavorful sauce. The small pizza was generous in size easily enough for 2 to 3 people and had that fresh, authentic taste you’d expect from a good Italian spot. The atmosphere was inviting, with soft music at just the right volume so you can relax and enjoy your meal without feeling overwhelmed. Inside seating is cozy with nice decorations, while the outdoor seating gives you the option to enjoy Hoboken’s lively vibe on a nice day. The staff were very friendly and attentive, checking in often without ever rushing us. We had a great time dining here and enjoyed both the food and the overall experience. Definitely a great place in Hoboken if you’re craving Italian food with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We even took some pizza home for late snack.

Wood fire pizza at its finest we sampled a plain & pepperoni pie that were so fantastic. We were all fighting over the last slice! I’ve been here quite a few times, but it was my first time trying the pizza and it is definitely as good as the pasta.!

Honestly just a really good pizza! Grabbed a pepperoni Sicilian slice and a meatball parm slice which were both amazing! The staff was very standoffish, felt like I was a bother to be there to be frank.

Good food and good service- what else do you need. The quality of food is really good. We ordered 3 personal pizzas and we liked them all. Vodka pizza is our favorite. One personal pizza is quite bigger than what we have been used to. BYOB - They don’t serve alcohol but you can BYOB.

I couldn't even wait. So delicious we ate the whole thing. Incredible. Nice job guys. Such flavors, I could taste everything that went into it and together. I'm maxed here. Well done.

Went for dinner with friends to try this location of Napoli’s after a great experience at the Clinton St location. The place has a great vibe and the pizzas were perfectly baked. The chicken sliders were cooked to perfection. Michael took good care of us. Would definitely visit again.

Nestled in a cozy corner of Chinatown, Bánh Mì Saigon has been delighting patrons since 1989 with its authentic Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches. This no-frills eatery offers a straightforward menu that focuses on the essentials, featuring an impressive array of 13 different banh mi options like BBQ Pork, Grilled Chicken, and Ham & Pâté.
BBQ pork banh mi was delicious! Add jalapeño for spicy. They have a variety of desserts and flan available too - saw many people getting the mung bean and pandan steamed rice cake. Standing room only.

A decent spot for a quick grab and go. I ordered the classic banh mi. The pickled veggies and cucumber were very fresh. I could still not taste butter and pate on the bread. but overall a decent place for a quick meal. No chairs. But they have table like structure against the wall for whoever wants to stand up and enjoy their meal.
J. G — Google review
If you like banh mi, this is an excellent spot. My only gripe is that they give you a small portion of meat compared to veggies. I’d say it’s 80-20 veggies to meat. The chicken banh mi is really delicious as they use dark meat and the marinade is nice. The fresh vegetables are also really tasty with a great crunch. The bread is super crispy. Make sure to add sriracha at the standing tables as these need a little sauce.
Gourmand — Google review
I was craving a banh mi and decided to give this spot a try. There was a bit of a line, which makes me think it’s a popular choice. I ordered the spicy BBQ pork banh mi and it was flavorful and satisfying. The only downside is that it was a little heavy on the veggies and light on the meat. I also didn’t find it spicy at all, despite the name. Overall, still a solid banh mi and worth trying.

Yum yum yum! whenever I'm in New York City I by Bond me Saigon and get the number 13 Vietnamese special cold cut sandwich which is delicious. Often I order one "for today" and a couple "for tomorrow" so that I have a couple to take home.

$9.50 for a grill chicken banh mi, taste good and the portion is enough for 2 people sharing.

The beef sandwich turned out to be a sandwich with beef fat. No joke — about 70 percent of what they call “beef” is just fat, as you can see in the photo. And that’s only from half of the sandwich.

The sandwiches friggin slap. Great cheap lunch, take out unless you want to eat at the counter (like a pizza shop). I recommend this spot to everyone I know.

The venue is family-friendly and offers ample indoor space, parking options, and a kids menu in its Weehawken location. Situated on Sinatra Drive, it provides outdoor seating with views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline.
Small group of 3 decided to stop by and check this place out. We were sat pretty quickly and had a sever just shortly after take our order. I went with the chicken tenders and corn bread. The food was cooked perfectly and the corn bread wasn’t overly dry. We also got an appetizer of chips and salsa. The backed potato was excellent. Overall, everything was good.

House of 'Que is a barbeque restaurant inside American Dream Mall. I came her during lunch hour, so it wasn't as packed. The chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and the Sloppy Texan with curly fries were delicious. Food came out quickly and staffs were polite. If you're a fan of BBQ and looking for a lively, Texas-style dining experience, House of 'Que could be a good choice for you.

Ordered delivery, and this is what I got. Food was stale and the rib cuts were atrocious. I wouldn’t even feed that to a dog. I called the store and the manager disconnected the phone call after placing me on hold. I had an option to eat at another BBQ place but I chose this one. Regrets, regrets. Never again.
SheniceBills — Google review
First off, how can you call yourself a Texas BBQ joint, have Shiner Bock on the menu and then not have it in stock!!!! Pure sacrilege!!! And you even have the Shiner sign above your stage!!! Now to the further disappointments… Was looking forward to eating here all day. Was sadly disappointed to no end. So much hype thrown online of having been trained and studied in Texas. Maybe the owner was trained, but he failed to pass on anything. Chicken & Waffles is like those waffles you get in the Mall with some frozen kids meal chicken fingers. Did not taste house-made at all. The Pork Belly was a disaster and tasted like the sauce was an after thought. It had ‘grill-marks’… who does that to Que’d or smoked belly, who? No flavor, tasted so bland, and zero smoke ring or smokiness. Then the 3-cheese nachos. Yeah-no. Food was cold. Then there’s the so-called Potato Salad. Tasted like cold mashed potatoes. No seasoning, no ingredients like they have in Texas. Then there comes the hyped 48-hr wings. It took them that long to thaw from the freezer. They were not bad, but nothing that says ‘we love cooking’. The brisket chili was really good… and the only hot food we received. I have been to Austin too many times to count. I have been to Terry Blacks, Salt Lick, Franklins, County Line, and Southside Market in Bastrop, just to name a few of the popular places. This cooking crew needs to take a trip and taste what real Texas BBQ tasted like. I am a “total foodie” and know my BBQ. I hope this place pays close attention to honest reviews from people who care about local places being successful. That is why I try to be honest without trying to be rude and nasty like some other people.

Wow 😲 a what a nice spot. This is sports bar with really good food. It is a large place located right across from the water. If you want to relax at the bar they have a big one. If you want to be at a table they have bi ones like picnic tables or dining table for a couple. Watching any sporting events here is a nice plus and they have ample street parking outside or if you want to use Mass transit the the light rail is bout a 5min walk away as well as the PATH train and several NJ transit buses 🚌. The food here is full of flavor we came for lunch and had the combo plate for 16 and you get to choose 2 or 3 meats and 2 sides. I had the ribs, sausage and brisket. The ribs were amazing i could eat that all day. The brisket was nice little dry but there sauce homemade helped. The fried pickles were tasty 😋 they shaved the the 🥒 so that is is shredded and dipped in batter and fried. The portions were great you had no worries wondering if you would be hungry afterwards. They have several drafts beers on tap from local brewery or signature beers 🍺. They staff was very attentive and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean usually that is not the case in sports bar restaurant. They also catered to families well. There were several families with kids . They have out do dining to if you want to be outside

Well I can say probably won't return here, VERY over priced. Before we even get to price our party was already turned off as we approached the podium to be seated we were not greeted warmly, as we felt like what do you want, later I was told the guy was a manager named Zeus that was covering the podium 5/1 late afternoon...as I was not in a mood to make this a race thing I proceeded and decided to see how this played out. One thing these establiments need to realize is you never know WHO is walking thru your doors...well today it was a YELPER & a Google Review Guru with over 2.5 MILLION views of my pic's etc. So after the rude approach upon seating us, we were seated and not really feeling the seating we asked if we could change the young man said oh you have to ask the guy at the podium..after how we felt.. I refused and was annoyed as we asked you and you work there and I need you to go inquire for me as a customer. We moved. Vanessa came and introduced herself she was nice and professional- Service was ok. Food was Super overpriced and we ordered these "48 hour wings" which were OK, tasted like the same wings I make in my air fryer and 6 wings for 14.00? Air fryer wings?? The Cowgirl drink was nice. We ordered burgers and fries. Burger was good and flavorful. Our bill was 140.00. 3 drinks, 3 meals, & 6 wings & order or fries. The liquor store and Five Guys may have been a cheaper option LOL #YOLO

Restaurant
Wah Fung No.1 Fast Food is a popular casual Chinese restaurant located in Manhattan's Chinatown, known for its street-style food with a special focus on roast pork. The restaurant offers takeout-only service and is frequented by locals and visitors alike. Customers can expect to find generous portions of tender roast pork, duck, or chicken served over rice at affordable prices, typically around $5-6 per order.
Was a little skeptical if it would be worth it, as there’s a lot of great and cheap options in the neighborhood, and I hadn’t been in years. $6.25 for the roasted pig “small” platter with a $1 water ($7.25 total). Thing must’ve weighed almost 5lbs. It can easily be split between two people or save half for later. The flavors are classic Chinese flavors. But the pig is so juicy and the rice is great.

Tourist here :) I saw this place on TikTok literal days before my trip so l was excited to try it. Now I will say the video I saw I didn't say that it was cash only, so I was glad that my friend had cash. It was $6.25 for the small roasted pork, or duck with rice and cabbage. We waited in line for about 20 minutes. They did move quickly and efficiently though. It's a really small shop so you just walk in when it's your turn order, watch him cut up the meat, put it in the tin and then you pay and walk out. Pretty simple overall. It’s was good and I felt worth it in overall value since it's a generous amount of food for under 7 bucks. Check it out if you’re in the area.

China town NYC staple. Affordable ✅ Tastes good ✅ Convenient ✅ Get a pork over rice bowl. They also offer duck. Both are solid. Went here during the week and typically no line during early lunch. Even if not it moves generally pretty quick. BRING CASH!. Highly recommended.
Ivan A — Google review
I genuinely regret the 25-minute wait after hearing all the hype surrounding this spot. Unfortunately, the experience simply did not live up to expectations, and the meal itself was utterly underwhelming for the $8.50 price tag. The food was sadly unremarkable. The rice was completely flavorless, failing to improve even after adding the sauce. The pork was plain and lacked any discernible BBQ seasoning, making the whole dish taste flat. Compounding the issue, they didn't even have hot sauce available. My honest advice? Save your time and money and walk a few stores down to New Kim Tuong. Their food is fantastic, bursting with flavor, and offers far better value

Tik tok really did this place justice. The lines, wow it took a long time to actually order food. By the time I ordered, I was starving. The duck and pork over white rice with the ginger and garlic sauce was yummy. Even the steamed cabbage was really good. This place was cheap and worth it. Definitely try it, food price starts as little as $6 for a small which is so filling.

Went to Wah Fung on a Wednesday morning around 10am and was pleasantly surprised—no queue at all (usually the line goes around the block!). Got the two meats combo for $6.25, which is such a steal in NYC. It wasn’t the best duck or roast pork I’ve ever had, but for the price, it’s definitely worth it. Great value if you’re craving roast meats on a budget!
Eunice K — Google review
It's a big wait during lunch time but understandably so. I haven't gotten roast meats on rice (with the right sauce!!) like this outside of Asia in a while, it's absolutely 💯💯. All for a very reasonable price in NY. Do yourself a favour and get the crispy pork and char siu mixed. And get a large and thank me later 🫡

Got half chicken, half duck! The duck had a lot more flavour but there was more meat from the chicken, so it was a good mix. The crispy skin was great. Loved the sauce with the rice

This place is highly recommended for its excellent service and delectable dishes like the spicy steak bites and flavorful wings. The buffalo chicken wrap is also highly regarded as one of the best in town, accompanied by mouthwatering mozzarella bites.
Staff are super friendly, very nice warm fireplace that completes a cozy dining room. Easily some of the best wings I’ve had in Hoboken, great Guinness, and anything on the menu that has their steak is worth an order. Will be coming back much more often.

Nice and chill local bar. Liked its vibe with my friends. Wasn't too loud but still had enough crowds, so it was easy to enjoy beers together with finger foods. It was also kinda interesting that the bar had two different spaces; typical bar space and another one that was more like sit-down type of restaurant-kind space. When we asked, they let us take one table there even though we weren’t gonna order any proper food menu.
J K — Google review
The place has a fun vibe and the atmosphere was great, but it was really loud hard to hear the people at my own table. Food was alright. The starters were actually solid, but the mains were just okay. I had the veggie risotto, which was fine, nothing memorable. Also tried the fish and chips and unfortunately had a bit of an allergic reaction pretty sure they fry everything in the same oil, so heads up if you have any food allergies. Service was good though staff was nice and attentive. Overall, not a bad spot for drinks and apps with friends, but I wouldn’t go expecting amazing food or a quiet meal.

Great neighborhood Irish pub. Reasonable prices in a town of places with unreasonable prices. Wings are very good (request extra crispy). Stir fry, sandwiches, beef tip app, all very good.

A true Hoboken experience. Has a bar, speakeasy-like fireplace seating, and outdoor seating. Bar has a small town vibe and the bartender is a legend. Food is a highlight, with a seasonal menu, solid but not excessive portions, and consistent quality. Yes the wings are good, more importantly you can tell the chef cares.

Walked in with a friend without reservations on Friday night, place was very crowded but they were able to seat us. Service was prompt and server was attentive. As a matter fact several servers waited on us to make sure we were OK. Dinner was good and portions were decent size. They had a few local craft beers on tap. Highly recommend!

This is our favorite outdoor place in Hoboken, and it is on the edge of the industrial part of Northend. The outdoor experience and indoor dining area are quite different here. Brunch has big portions, and food is good in general. We like the server Brian, who was all by himself outside and he fulfilled all of your needs promptly.

Bakery
Fay Da Bakery is a Chinese bakery chain that started in 1991 and has expanded to multiple locations in Manhattan, Queens, Connecticut, New Jersey, and China. It offers a variety of Chinese delicacies such as taro buns, pineapple buns, egg tarts, milky sugared coffee, sponge cakes, sesame balls and more. In addition to sweet treats, they also serve savory buns and pies.
Fay Da Bakery was a great stop for bubble tea. The hot bubble tea was only $5, the cheapest we found in Chinatown, and the quality was excellent. The bakery had a lively and bustling atmosphere, with a self-serve setup where you grab what you want and pay at the counter. The staff were friendly despite how busy it was. One thing to note is that there’s a $10 minimum for card payments, so it’s best to bring cash if you’re just getting drinks. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely go back.

Good, but not great. Fay da has quite a bit to offer in variety but the quality is not quite what I remember in the past. I purchased a few taro buns and they were each very poorly filled, and I felt I was mostly just eating plain bread. They do have taro mochi which is good but also not particularly well filled. While prices are cheap, there's better value at other bakeries in the neighborhood. The inside of the bakery has a few tables where you can sit, which is really nice.

Vito's Deli is a traditional Italian deli that offers a wide range of sandwiches and salads, as well as imported groceries and their own homemade mozzarella. For those looking to indulge in the ultimate Italian sandwich experience, Vito's should definitely be on your list. In fact, it could even be considered the official sport of New Jersey! Before making your selection from their chalkboard menu, take some time to appreciate the daily specials.
It was our first time here and we ordered the popular Italian Cuban sandwich and the Vito’s (which the man that helped us said it was their most popular sandwich). Both were SO good. The flavours on the Italian Cuban were AMAZING and the deli meats on the Vito’s was so fresh esp with the fresh “mutz” (mozarella) and the flavourful oregano oil/vinaigrette. Truly delicious. There’s no seating here but luckily we found an empty bench the next street over to devour these beauties.
T. T — Google review
So, no shade to anyone but….there’s Subway, and then there’s Vito’s. I had to stop eating at Subway sometime ago. The quality drastically reduced and it just didn’t hit the same for me. Last summer, a friend and I came across Vito’s. We were craving a good hero/cold cut and checked out some of the reviews and saw that they were good, so went inside. We ordered turkey heroes and they were EXCEPTIONAL. Now I know some may think that it isn’t hard to make or find a good turkey cold cut, but trust me, it IS, and I’ve had many bad turkey cold cuts. It’s quite disappointing. What really makes a bad turkey cold cut bad, is, well, the turkey lol. You can taste when it isn’t quality turkey, when it’s processed, etc. It just doesn’t taste the same. When tasting these turkey cold cuts from Vito’s, the bread was amazing, the turkey was amazing, it was fresh and filling! It was also good service. The staff took our sandwich orders and nailed them! I went back last week for another turkey cold cut and it was also more than exceptional. So simple, yet exceptional. Thank you for quality heroes, Vito’s. I need to go back to try some of their pastas and sauces because everything is simply made and authentic. I will absolutely be back. Also, they have a happy hour, everyone! I forget the pricing and details but it’s great! Go check’em out!

As many of us, I googled options of sandwiches in Hoboken and I got This place. As I can saw they have history and a reputation, and I had to try one of their famous hero’s. My today’s choice was the Italian Cuban sandwich. The ingredients are really good. In this case I can tell that quantity reflects quality👌🏻. The pork has good taste, not too salty and I’m combination with the mozzarella was really a party in my mouth ❤️ 10/10. The service was good, the guy that helped me with my sandwich was very nice and polite( my mistake I didn’t ask his name for refer him) But there was another guy (a tall and fatty one) that completely ignore me and that was not nice. But I let it pass because the sandwich worth it.

I wanted to try their roast beef and mutz! I know, I know, there is another place in Hoboken that does that sandwich very well. But it was a Wednesday 🤷🏻‍♂️. The roast beef tasted a bit dry and the bread wasn't that great.

There are very good reasons for the rave reviews of this quaint Italian deli. The food is more than just memorable, it's what legends are made of. Vito and Sons Deli offers quality, authentic Italian fare, and even adds a Latin twist on certain offerings, like the Italian Cuban sandwich. Restaurant
Shu Jiao Fu Zhou is a modest Chinese cafe in Manhattan that offers a simple yet authentic dining experience. The restaurant is renowned for its affordable and delicious dumplings, which are made by hand on-site. While the menu may be limited, it features classic options like pork & chive dumplings and pork & cabbage dumplings, as well as flavorful wonton soup. In addition to their renowned dumplings, Shu Jiao Fu Zhou also serves delectable noodles with peanut sauce.
Shu Jiao Fu Zhou is a standout culinary gem tucked away in New York’s Chinatown, delivering authentic Fuzhou flavors with unbeatable value. Visitors consistently rave about the steamed dumplings and pork & chive dumplings, praised for being juicy, flavorful, and affordable. Many have pointed out that even during rush hour, service is impressively swift—one diner mentioned being in and out within five minutes. The peanut butter noodles are another fan favorite, striking a perfect balance between savory and comforting. Several reviewers mentioned how these dishes transported them back to their childhood in China, which speaks volumes about the authenticity. The restaurant’s prices—often under $10—make it a haven for food lovers on a budget. One guest exclaimed their meal was cheaper than a latte, and another said they could feast for less than $20. Despite being packed most of the time, customers appreciate the fast service and piping hot food. While the atmosphere varies in reviews—some find it cozy, others note it could be cleaner—the food consistently earns top marks. There’s also a cash-only policy, so visitors should come prepared. Critique: The only downside? Their official website seems to be down, which is inconvenient for those looking to preview the menu or plan their visit. Hopefully, they get that fixed soon.

I paid $8 total for both the dumplings and the peanut noodles. I waited no more than 5 minutes to get my order — the service is very efficient. The noodles are definitely worth it, and the portion is filling. The dumplings are delicious, and so is their sauce. There’s no table service and the restaurant is crowded, but once you taste the food, you understand why. I’ll definitely be back!

I don’t know where else you can find $5 dumplings plate that tasted good and served on the spot ! The chives and shrimp ones are yummy. We ordered 3 different types. The fried ones tasted the best. The chicken ones are so so. All good value. It was a mistake trying the beef tribe noodles - couldn’t eat it. The minced beef in the noodles soup also not to my liking. I’m a big fan of fish balls but fuzhou fishball has a gluey texture that I do not like. I also don’t care for the filling or flavor. The lines are long (between 6-8pm). It’s like the happening place for pre party and college kids, tourists etc it’s cheap. Portions are surprisingly decent. Cash only. ATM machine right there if you need cash.

This definitely is a go-to for the quintessential Chinese dumpling in Chinatown. Lots of food for $5.00-$6.00, fresh, the original fast food! We ordered noodles in peanut sauce, won ton soup, and of course , dumplings, each order with a healthy supply of dumplings: 🥟pork chive dumplings (fried), vegetable dumplings (steamed) and shrimp, chive and egg (steamed) dumplings. Altogether with tax -$32.00! This isn’t your gourmet, fancy dumpling place - this is your nice portions size of decent dumplings on a budget place. The won ton soup and peanut butter noodles were okay too and as much as we enjoyed the shrimp, chive and egg dumplings - we deconstructed to confirm - no shrimps were actually used in the dumplings - so, truthfully, the chive and egg dumplings were delicious! 😋

Very good price/quality ratio! I tried the pork dumplings, which were really juicy and they came with this delicious sauce. The service is also really quick. I think the food was done like 2 minutes after I ordered or sum. It isn´t the coziest place where you sit down and enjoy your food, but it´s fine for a quick bite.

Cash only! I tried the peanut butter noodles and fried pork dumplings with only $8.25 —both were great deals and super satisfying. The noodles were springy with a light, savory peanut sauce, simple but filling. The dumplings stole the show: crispy bottoms, juicy pork inside, and perfect with vinegar soy sauce. No-frills, hearty flavors, and unbeatable prices make this spot a go-to for quick, comforting eats. Me Asian approved!

I came here on a Tuesday night, just stumbling into it, and it was hard to find a seat, that’s how I knew it was going to be good. I ate the wheat noodles with peanut butter sauce and tried some of my friend’s steamed vegetable dumplings. Both exceeded my expectations. The food looks delicious because it is. I spent a total of $4.50 on the noodles and a bottle of water. This place is cash only so come prepared. Great and quick counter service. The atmosphere is not very cozy or inviting but when the food is as good and affordable as it is here it doesn’t matter. Counting down the days I’ll get to go again. Highly recommend in general and for a quick and tasty meal.

I was recommended to stop by to experience some authentic Chinatown experience. It’s amazing how they can maintain the price. Obviously, this restaurant isn’t going to offer cream of crop Chinese cuisine experience. However, I was impressed by the quality of the food given the price. To be clear, the quality of the food is going to resemble that of a food truck. But there’s no other place that beats their price.

Kopitiam is a charming little eatery that captures the essence of Malaysian cuisine, blending sweet and savory flavors in delightful dishes. This cozy spot offers an array of breakfast items, aromatic coffees, and refreshing teas. Dive into Nyonya cuisine—a fusion of Malaysian and Chinese culinary traditions enriched by Dutch, Portuguese, and British influences. Start your day with kaya butter toast slathered in sweet coconut jam or indulge in unique Malaysian-style French toasts featuring Milo chocolate powder or peanut sugar.
Underrated gem! The half boiled egg + kaya butter toast is to die for for anyone who likes salty + sweet combinations. Pandan chicken tastes amazing. Fish ball soup is on the lighter side. Overall, great portion, fun dishes, friendly staff!

I visited on a Sunday night and it was empty! You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. You clean your table/tray when you are finished. I got the Nasi Lemak and it was really tasty, but the portions are pretty small. Prices are fine for the size of the dish, but I wouldn’t go here if I was super hungry. I really enjoyed the flavors in this dish- Malaysian food is new to me and this was a good introduction to the cuisine.
Megan C — Google review
The nice thing about this spot is they offer up a lot of traditional Malaysian dishes and the menu has a pretty decent selection. Food wise, it’s decent. There aren’t any frills but will say their toast was good. We couldn’t get the Hainese chicken since they sold out. Drinks aren’t bad either. It’s quite an informal spot, you order up front and grab seating after. They do bring the food to you but it’s not your typical waiter service. Maybe because of the more casual nature and the crowd, the place doesn’t feel very cleanly. It can get kind of loud as well if there are larger groups. Some people do take up seating after they’re finished with their meal, so if you’re looking for a sit down spot, it’s just easier with a smaller group.

We were excited to visit because my Malaysian boyfriend wanted a bit of home. It was definitely bumping when we went for lunch on the weekend, but were lucky enough to grab a table. We were most excited for the kaya toast, and it was pretty good! The food was alright and a bit underwhelming, but the vibes were great.

I'm picky about my Malaysia food, having grown up with the good stuff. Kopitiam always seemed to garner mixed reviews at best, so I kind of avoided the spot until recently, when a friend wanted to meet her new long distance beau and he picked Kopitiam to be judged, juried and (potentially) executed. I wish I could say we had a merry time, but it was a weird night. Mostly because HE was weird.....and brand new to Malaysian food, which made it just so much more painful for me (I hate playing tour guide/translator when I haven't offered to do so). But I digress. You didn't come here for my tea. You came for tea on Kopitiam. The good: - Kaya Butter Toast: Properly thick and large, with tons of delicious kaya - Nasi Lemak: Of course I've had better in the motherland, but for NYC, this hit all the right notes of coconut rice, plenty of ikan bilis, and tasty a sambal - Pan Mee with soup: Could've used more noodles, but the friedn anchovies were popping, and the broth was umami-tastic - Sambal Sauteed Water Spinach: What can I say, Asians just do veggies better. Get this when you need to see some green on your plate - Ondeh Ondeh: Hard to find and definitely worth the effort, so make sure to come early to hedge your bets. Then enjoy that sweet, sweet mochi-like texture with glorious palm sugar filling - Honeycomb Cake: Moist and decadent without being too sweet - Penang-Style Hand-Rolled Muah Chee: Made to order, but worth it if you've never experienced the glory of warm ground peanuts and sesame seeds served in chewy pieces. Mmmm, my childhood.... The Okay: - Otak Otak: Spicy grilled fish "quiche", but not quite aromatic enough and a bit dry - Malaysian Style Half Boiled Eggs: I like mine saltier - Oh Chien: Not bad, but needed way more oyster - Pandan Chicken: No pandan flavor + oversalted chicken + dry meat = I regret choosing this as a last-minute add-on All in all, I liked Kopitiam more than I expected. Can't wait to go back without having to entertain a insular white guy who can't use chopsticks just because he's boinking my friend.

This reminds me of a fast food restaurant. Order at the register. You had to order off a Q code, they didn’t have any menus. Seats are first come first serve so if you see a seat throw your jacket, bag or umbrella there to hold the seat. After you order the give you a number and someone brings you the foods. I found the food a little different from the Malaysian I’m use to and it left a little after taste in my mouth afterwards. You can get water if you ask them and take out containers if you have left over. And clean your space for the next person. Take your trash to the assigned area. I did 4 star instead of 3 because even though I found the food only ok, the Staff was nice but mainly because I wasn’t use to the type of restaurant it was an that’s more on me.

Small but cute cafe with a large variety of Malaysian dishes and desserts. Highly recommend the blue rice balls and the national dish. The pandan dessert has an interesting yet addicting taste (the coconut layer on top is salty!). The Milo French toast is very good but very sweet; you get a lot though. This has become my go-to cafe in the lower east side!

We're from Malaysia and wanted to try this place. Apparently the owner is from Penang, Nyoya descent. We'd a chat. Great guy. Food is okay and the pork jerky bun is good. Char key teow is not up to mark though. But at least I get to have a sip of our famous Kopi-O 😇 The place is a little mess with stock cartons stacking in the shop.

Restaurant
Sandwich shop
M & P Biancamano is a traditional Italian deli known for its homemade mozzarella, which they produce daily. This family-owned establishment, run by a husband and wife team, provides an authentic experience where the owners are honest in their opinions of the food. The sandwiches served here are generously sized and have received praise from customers. Furthermore, M & P Biancamano supplies mozzarella to other establishments such as salad shops.
This absolute gem is a holdover from a better time in Hoboken with family owned Italian delis and stores all over town that are slowly disappearing to corporate overlords. Happy to see that this family owned business also owns the building and so they're not going anywhere. Quite simply the best deli in town. The sandwiches are massive and overstuffed with homemade meats using the best breads and ingredients. The mayo is the best I've ever tasted and the muzz is creamy and juicy and unlike anything I've ever tried. Made daily. And if that's not enough, have a dish with their homemade red sauce. It brings me back immediately to the Sunday dinners of my childhood. The owners are an amazing Italian couple from Salerno and they couldn't be more welcoming and friendly. I hope this place is around forever and a day.

The thin fried chicken cutlets are absolutely delicious. I got the chicken cutlet, roasted pepper, fresh mozzarella on a hero with Balsamic Vinegar. If you haven’t had the sandwiches from this place, then you definitely must try. Top spot in Hoboken The owners are so sweet!!

M & P Biancamano popped up when I was looking for an Italian 🇮🇹 deli near me. Within walking distance from Hamilton Cove Apt complex… went over and got the chicken parmigiana w/ spaghetti and prosciutto w/ mozzarella and hot peppers. One of the best chicken parms and prosciutto mozzarella subs that I’ve had in a while. I am glad that it is close to home… great food. The owners are very friendly and helpful.!! Keep up the great work. 💯 🔥 ✊🏽 I highly recommend M & P Biancamano…

A nostalgic trip back when sandwich shops where about people and the smiles where the reviews of today pride and old school hanging cured cheeses and dry meats which invoke some childhood memories of my old neighbor hood...The secret to a great sandwich is the smiles look of amazement in ones eyes a true Sandwich maker skill of slicing the meats and creating layers of deliciousness. Also the true symphony of a meat slicer as it creates a wonderful sound for meat as a different sound for the cheese it slices...NOSTALGIA AT ITS PEAK...THE SANDWICHES ARE AMAZING. the owners take Great Pride in its masterful creation love it and would defintely become a regular from NYC STATEN ITALY.....some might say i am a PASTA RICAN....

The BEST sandwich ever made by the nicest people! You MUST go to M&P Biancamano, better than any of the other so called famous delis in Hoboken. Family owned , they are a delight to watch as they create huge sandwiches filled with the absolute best meats and cheeses!

The best fresh mozzarella I’ve ever had, anywhere - Italy included. Amazing sandwhiches and Italian deli items. Beyond that, this place is run by an adorable married couple who are incredibly kind people. It doesn’t get more authentic. This is one of my favorite places to visit when I’m back in Hoboken.
Tara G — Google review
Everything about this place is great. They have high quality deli meats that are loaded up into huge sandwiches that are prepared with care. Everyone is so fun and friendly here and you end up getting enough food for at least two meals out of one sandwich. They have a good selection of drinks and snacks to pair with your meal. They are cash-only, but there is an ATM in the store. This is my new favorite deli.

Stumbled upon this place on a walk and i’m so happy that i did. It’s a classic mom and pop shop and the owners are great. I originally wanted a whole meatball mozzarella sub and they asked if i was sure since it’s 2 Hoagies. A half was more than enough for both me and my girlfriend. The Mutz was fantastic and the meatballs were just as good. Definitely will be visiting often to try the chicken parm.

The bagels at this establishment are large and soft, embodying all the qualities one desires in a perfect bagel. They are served quickly and efficiently, making sure customers don't have to wait too long.
Exceptional bagels. Called in for breakfast on our last day before heading home to the UK. The first thing we saw when we walked in was the bagels being boiled/baked fresh, which is always a good sign. I went for a breakfast sausage, egg and cheese plain bagel (much better than anything McDonalds have ever done in the uk!) and the wife went for a cinnamon raisin bagel with walnut cinnamon cream cheese. Really fresh and tasty food. Wish we’d found it at the start of our trip!

I stopped here for lunch one day on the recommendation of someone else. It's not much to look at from outside or inside either but there's a huge selection of reasonably priced foods available, together with hot & cold drinks. Outside there are three sets of tables and chairs on the pavement. There's no obvious setting indoors, so it appears to be aimed at the take away market. Lots of people were popping in for take aways whilst I was there. I opted for a cream cheese bagel and hot hazelnut coffee. Both hit the spot and the price was super cheap for the US 👍🏻. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Hoboken. Thank you.

9/11 Still in love with the spot! Love the chicken fajitas wrap i got and can't wait to try their new bagel chips which look bomb already 😋😍🙌 ------- The place is popping off! Food is fresh and served quickly for all commuters to snatch a delicious bite while still catchig their trains😋 Tons of options, so strongly recommend you check the menu first and go in. Although, they have a great pick up/delivery system set up which makes things easier for all busy people. Best part is... albeit the limited space inside - they have a big kitchen in the back for all the food they need to make - the outdoor seating is brilliant. I was able to happily enjoy my turkey egg and cheese in a spinach wrap 😋

I went today to grab my breakfast sandwich, and like usual, I was disappointed once again. To have the balls to charge $15 for a bagel with a half centimeter of lox and a bagel with a drop of butter is a slap in the face. Every time I come into this bagel joint and grab a sandwich, they literally give me a sandwich with no contents. I’ve never seen a business be so goddamn stingy. Whether it’s a fourth of an egg or one strip of bacon, these people always serve up half-assed food. Like, this is just crazy to me. The food is not nearly good enough to be pulling this bullshit!

Been going here for over a decade. Usually food is pretty decent. Was served the saddest Egg and Cheese today with SPK. Like what is this thing? The cheese is not melted and it's like half an egg. Do better.

45 minutes to make 2 egg and cheese bagels is crazy… Not even that busy, regular crowd with a lot of employees. Edit : they didn’t put the hashbrown and look at the tiny piece of egg on one half. I waited an hour total for the wrong order, with like 2 bites of egg

The food was excellent. I had some sushi & my friend had the chicken teriyaki. For appetizer we had vegetable dumplings. We shared some mochi for desert. Staff were friendly. Some parking is available which is great considering it's Hoboken. It's pretty easy to spot it as it is in a strip mall almost at the end.

Very quiet space. Not a lot of space to eat compared to other restaurants but the food is superb. No bar so it is byob and there is a liquor store in the plaza. Sushi was very good and extremely fresh.

I’m not sure why this place is having 4.1 rating. The food is excellent. And the prices are reasonable. I order takeouts here and Okinawa is always prepping the food fast. The portions are big and very tasty. I’ve been to Japan and tried a lot of sushi around the world. This isn’t a hi-end sushi place, of course, but it’s great. With my wife, we always enjoy Okinawa’s sushi. It’s one of our beloved places. And for the price, one can hardly beat it. As a nice bonus, they put very little rice over their rolls. With my wife, we enjoy it. Some people may be used to having more rice. I wouldn’t change a thing.

This cozy spot may be small, featuring just four tables, but it boasts an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu is bursting with fruit-focused Chinese desserts, including refreshing smoothies and delectable treats like fluffy crepe cakes and mouthwatering mango pancakes.
Literally the best dessert place I’ve ever been to. The first time I got the strawberry sago mango ice cream thing. Soooo good and fresh. Next time I got the Mango Sundae. Amazing. There was so much ice cream and whipped cream so I shared with my sister. Will definitely come back 💗

Mango Mango is a chain of dessert shops focused on Asian desserts, revolving around the titular mango fruit. The service was a bit slow, but understandable since there was a lot of people trying to get desserts. There wasn't any bathroom in the place and few seating, so we opted to take it to go. We got the signature mango dessert and a chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was good, though a bit on the sweeter side and kind of hard to eat, as it would fall apart when the plastic was removed but hard to grab while in the plastic. The mango signature was pretty standard compared to other locations, and tasted good.

Cute little spot that we came across only because I happened to see a sign with a picture of the Crème brûlée Mille Crepe Cake (Slice). The place was small, but the tables were all occupied. The decorations were very cute as well. The staff were very friendly, as soon as we walked in, they greeted us. I came in strictly for the cake. I've had crepe cakes before in Virginia and they were much better than this. This one had great flavors, definitely heavy on the sugar, but was very stale. The packaging was amazing, they definitely take care and pride in packing the desserts. The cake was in a box, which was then placed in an insulated bag (as shown in my pictures). Both are nicely marked with their logo. Would I return? maybe, but I would want to sit and enjoy a drink or dessert next time.

Just happened to see a mango drink place while looking around Chinatown. I guess my family were obsessed with mango drinks. This is a very small sit down drink dessert place that also offers desserts but we came here to only get drinks only. Sit down is limited and not good for groups at all. We ordered their Coconut Mango smoothie and mango/strawberry smoothie; both were very good with fresh mango bits. Prices are very good, too. Service took forever though just to get our orders. It almost felt like he was ignoring us while serving the tables first and we stood there for a while staring at him to see us. He was also casually eating his lunch too. Hump. Good drinks but service is meh.

Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel is a modern hotel located by the riverside, offering stunning city views. Guests can enjoy an Italian restaurant and an indoor pool during their stay. The hotel provides great value compared to other city hotels and offers easy access to the city via a nearby ferry. While some guests found the rooms to be slightly dated, they appreciated the cleanliness and friendly customer service. Visitors also praised the convenience of having a ferry nearby for easy access to New York City.
The front desk was extraordinary. I had an issue with my reservation that was my fault, and they took care of it without any issue. The room is fine. Nothing extraordinary, but much larger than you would expect over in New York.. I had an unexpected view of Manhattan, albeit angled, but I did not pay for a view of Manhattan and I was very pleased. The ferry is simply amazing. 5 minutes each way with frequent arrivals/departures during the week. Weekends are not bad, either. This property is an excellent option when staying in/near New York.

Excellent accommodation with very friendly staff. Yes, it is a bit dated but that adds to the character. The bed was very comfortable allowing us to have 7 excellent nights' sleep. It was very clean with the linen changed every 3 days - wow! It is in a very safe and quiet area close to public transport. Absolutely stunning views and would highly recommend. We would love to book here again!

Lincoln Harbour and the surrounding area was nice and quiet in comparison to the hustle and bustle of Times Square and had a choice of restuarants nearby on the harbour. Breathtaking views of the New York City skyline during the day and at night. Capture the sunrise and sunset for keen photographers. Staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful with navigating the local area and responding to service requests. Don't forget your Marriot Bonvoy Membership and perks with late check out and breakfast.

Very nice hotel situated in a stunning location. Rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My favorite part was being able to walk out the front door and sit on the bench watching the Hudson River and NYC skyline. It was therapeutic. This is also located in a VERY safe part of the city, so if you are from out of town and have concerns, look no further than the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor. Will certainly be coming back.

A solid, reliable Sheraton—nothing overly fancy, but comfortable and well-kept. Our single king room was spacious and included a separate sitting area, which was a nice touch. A major plus is the outdoor parking lot ($30 per day) with unlimited in-and-out privileges and plenty of space for a full-size pickup The hotel is within walking distance of the northern end of Hoboken, where you’ll find several bars and restaurants, and about a 25-minute walk or a $10 Uber ride to the main dining area around Washington Street. Often noticeably cheaper than the W Hoboken, it’s overall a very good value and convenient place to stay.

-The bed was comfy; lots of pillows. -Nice-sized bathroom with a bathtub as well as body wash, soap, lotion, etc. Good water pressure and hot water. -The room was spacious. -The pool and the gym were nice. I wish there was a sauna and/or jacuzzi. And you have to make a reservation to use the pool. It wasn't difficult to do, just their process/procedure. -I really wish there was a rooftop bar or restaurant; that view would be amazing. -Great proximity to public transportation. -Great views and access to walking path, grocery stores, restaurants, green space, etc. -I liked that there was a water bottle filling station in the lobby. -I wish that breakfast was included in the cost of the hotel stay. -The staff were fine, but I didn't have any extraordinary requests. -Would I stay there again, perhaps for a lesser rate, yes, I would. -

Xi'an Famous Foods is a local chain that serves authentic Xi'an-style Chinese cuisine, such as noodles, soups, and sandwiches. It started as a small establishment in 2005 and has since expanded to multiple locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. The restaurant is known for its dishes like Liang Pi (Cold-Skin Noodles), Stir-Fried Liang Pi, Spicy Asian Cucumber Salad, and ChangAn Spicy Tofu Custard.
This place was fantastic. My wife really wanted to try a hand pulled noodle place and 1915 Lanzhou was closed. So we came here instead and I’m very happy this was the case. I really really enjoyed my meal. I had the lamb dish, with mildly spicy noodles, and had the dish made “dry”. I was worried that in china town regular spicy noodles would be too spicy 🥵. I regret getting the mild and wish I’d got the regular spice. Otherwise this was an absolutely amazing meal and I truly enjoyed the meal. 🥘 My wife had the pork, no spice, and made dry also. Her dish was also very good but I definitely preferred the lamb and spices!

I live in Canada, on my NYC trip this is the first Chinese restaurant I tried the food; my mind just blown away by how delicious the food was. We ordered lamb dumplings and lamb noodles; it was so good that we ordered dumplings again. Without thinking anything you can just order the lamb noodles; it’s spicy, exactly the way I like it. I think I will make a NYC trip just to have food in here. Simply awesome. Just loved it.

The restaurant is very clean and well-kept. Service was friendly, and the food came out really fast – great if you’re short on time. Most importantly, the taste was excellent: fresh, authentic, and flavorful. The dumplings and noodles had just the right amount of spice and were full of flavor. A perfect spot for a quick and delicious stop in Chinatown – I’ll definitely come back!

Wow this was interesting! Came here because of the amazing pictures on Google. We both got the pulled noodles and shared soup dumplings. A little bit pricey for Chinatown ($22 for a noodle dish and dumplings) but it came quick and portions were massive. Tables were really tall so tough to eat for short people. Dumplings were good but not very soupy. Noodles were delicious with a great texture. Mine wasn't spicy enough but my friends definitely was. Very messy so def don't wear a white shirt, lol! I really liked this but definitely was an intense meal.

I got the spicy oil noodles and the hibiscus drink. Both so good. The noodle sauce has a slight acidity that enhances the flavor. The noodle is cooked to a good texture which is a good kinda chewiness but not too hard (also not too soft which is the beauty of pulled noodle). The drink is nice and cold, not too sweet; perfect pair for the slightly spicy noodles. The place is clean and air conditioned with plenty of seats. Also liked the self order kiosk which makes the line go faster. In general a good experience and will come back.

I have walked in here many times ... looked at the menu... but was always too full to try it. But I always looked at the menu even before visiting NY and added to all my lists so I remembered to make it my first stop (after Mamoun's) upon arriving in NY. During this visit to NY, we came here TWICE (Yea, it was that good!!!) and ordered the following: [N1] Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles - insanely delicious, we ordered in the spiciest option, but it really wasn't too spicy but still perfect. We ended up going back the next day to order this again. Definitely and highly recommend. [N2] Spicy & Tingly Beef Muscle Hand-Ripped Noodles - we ordered in the spiciest option; the proportion of protein to noodles was a little off. [F4] Spicy & Sour Lamb Dumplings (7) - this was definitely a different taste, the lamb was a little tough compared to the lamb with the noodles. It did share the same "tingly" taste as the Beef muscle hand-pulled noodles. They have self-service kiosks available, which is super helpful if it gets crowded. Instead of a basic menu, they have digital images of the dish, the name and the price. I remember once upon a time, they had printed pictures...but either way it is all helpful to see what we are getting. The prices definitely increased and average about $14/dish. They accept both cash and card, even google pay (maybe also apple pay). There is plenty of seating available, unless it gets very crowded. At first I wasn't thrilled about the disposable plates, but in the end, it's much easier since people are tossing their own garbage and leaving trays at the entrance. There is a bathroom available, the code is provided at the counter. Would I return? Definitely without a doubt!!

Xi’an Famous Foods Chinatown, NYC 🥢 Cold Skin Noodles (涼皮) We found the classic 涼皮 really comforting and something you’d definitely want to come back for. It was tossed in a chili oil–based sauce, nothing fancy but flavorful and satisfying. 🥟Spinach Dumplings They were on the lighter side, which balances out the 涼皮. The filling was a little dry on their own, but adding chili oil helped balanced it out. Would’ve loved the option to mix dumpling flavors (half spinach, half lamb) though! Atmosphere: The restaurant was generally comfortable to dine in. However, many of the tables had smudges or leftover sauces, which made the space feel a bit less clean than expected. Overall, this is a place I’d definitely go back to again! Would’ve loved to try out the other dishes as well, which I’m sure would taste great!

Clean and lots of space to sit - order on the kiosk or at the front. Delicious and spicy is great. To-go orders you can keep the sauce on the side, which is nice.

88 Lan Zhou Handmade Noodles is a no-frills Chinese noodle spot that serves up traditional, homemade dishes at an affordable price. The restaurant is known for its hand-pulled or knife-cut noodles and classic fried dumplings. Despite being cash-only and not serving alcohol, the quality of the food and service has garnered a loyal following among food enthusiasts.
Maybe its because we walked 15,000 steps to get here but the fried and boiled dumplings were delicious, especially when you add the hot chili sauce and vinegar soy. However, do not fill up on dumplings because you need to save room for the hand cut seafood noodles. Noodles are perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the texture. Worth the visit!

THE BEST HANDMADE NOODLES & DUMPLING JOINT IN NYC! They recently moved from Canal St and took over a failing restaurant—new location is spacious and the quality of the food and service is the same as before! Knife cut or hand pulled noodles are the best! Fried dumplings are a classic here and the prices are best to none! A staple among foodies that have a cult following like me! So glad they’re back and creating delicious food again!! Must have! Must visit! Must revisit! Must enjoy!

Probably the best restaurant I've been to in the Chinatown of NYC. The place feels classics and authentic. The soups are out of this world - the broth was very rich of flavour, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the meat was of high quality. The pork dumplings were excellent. They were very juicy exactly like a I like it. The prices are ridiculously cheap.
Itai S — Google review
Noodles were very good, but the meat (lamb and beef brisket) were dry. The dumplings were really good as well. Pricing was okay - not super cheap. You’ll have to purchase water bottle - no free tap water.
Kaceyvu — Google review
Came here alone around 4pm and it was pretty empty. I ordered a beef soup noodle and two plates of boiled pork dumplings. Unfortunately they don't offer cups of water here, you would need to buy their bottled water or drinks. Food came pretty quickly and it looked delicious. Dumplings were soft and cooked nicely. The beef soup noodle had delicious beef briskets and chewy noodles. Don't have anything to complain about, would recommend to others to try out.

I was pretty disappointed after seeing this have 4.4 stars... I give it a 2.5... service was awful, place was pretty dirty (as somewhat expected though being in china town)... which I’m usually ok with both of those downfalls if the food is good— but food was not good either. We ordered two noodle stir fries, steamed and fried dumplings, and a noodle soup and it was all pretty bland except for the dumplings. I was excited to have amazing noodles in Chinatown, but sadly was disappointed.

8 bucks for the Seafood noodle soup and 4 bucks for the fried dumplings. Great value for Manhattan prices, service was fine, no frills. Food was good, nothing was overpowering. The dumping wrap was nice and thin. Good for kids and larger groups too.

Amazing dumplings and noodles for a great price! The servers were a little hasty and rushed but it contributes to a more authentic feel. I would definitely come again when I'm in the area.

Nestled along the picturesque Hudson River in North Bergen, Waterside Restaurant and Catering is a culinary gem that offers an exquisite dining experience paired with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. This sophisticated venue, designed by Executive Chef Gus Shizas from The Culinary Institute of America, boasts a diverse menu featuring gourmet dishes ranging from artisanal cheeses and cured meats to innovative main courses like Slow Roasted Colorado Lamb Riblets and Lobster Tacos.
What a beautiful location! I was there to attend the NEW JERSEY FASHION FEST CGMODELS. Very fancy. The event was amazing. The views of this restaurant are breathtaking. Floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the NEW YORK CITY SKYLINE! It has 3 floors. First floor to eat and dine. Great place to have and enjoy any event. The staff are very professional and pleasant. I didn’t get to order food but everyone loved their drinks and cocktails. There is also a good amount of parking. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We went to celebrate my daughters 16 birthday. It was 13 of us, we were not allowed to order appetizers without ordering our main meal at the same time which was weird to me. The food was so so, nothing to write home about, I had the Salmon and lobster Mac n cheese, both could have used some type of seasoning, I mean,I wasn't expecting the Mac n cheese to have tons of lobster in it but I was expecting it to have some flavor. Most of my table (teens) ordered steak and all requested for the salt to be passed to them so that says a lot. The atmosphere and view is nice, it's like a fancy bar/restaurant/nightclub all in one, just don't go expecting top tier food.

This is one of the best restaurants in NJ. The food is extraordinary but what sets it apart is the quality of the service. The staff is friendly and attentive. They make the experience of eating there unique. A plus, of course, is the magnificent view of Manhattan and the river.

Yaya Tea is a popular spot in the city, offering a wide variety of bubble teas and Asian snacks. The modern and chic ambiance sets the stage for an enjoyable visit. Their menu includes fruit teas, milk teas, and freshly brewed teas with customizable options for adding flavors like kiwi, peach, mango, and lychee. Yaya Tea also encourages eco-friendly practices by offering a discount to guests who reuse their glass bottles.
I went to this place for a bubble tea and I was not disappointed! The order tablet makes it easier to choose and get what you want. When you make your selection, do not forget that the tapiocas balls are extras, so don’t forget to add them. I went for a black milk bubble tea and it cost me $8 for a 16oz one.

I should’ve taken a picture before we dug in. I wasn’t planning on reviewing this place, but after taking that first bite, I just had to!! The yakisoba was absolutely delicious, it tasted similar to chicken teriyaki but with its own blend of flavors and the noodles had a very nice consistency. I would definitely recommend this dish paired with your bubble tea!

Keepin it real out here in Chinatown I didn't even know this is the OG Yaya tea spot, recently renovated, looks great and the food still authentic to what they always been serving. They got these extra huge rice balls here with a great amount of filling (protein) & sauce so it's not dry at all, goes great with the drinks. Will visit more often

Super good boba! Me- i hate when my drink is FULL of ice, because that means i get barely any drink and Yaya did not disappoint!!! They put the perfect amount of ice, and my drink had a few/little pieces when i was done so that was good. On top of that, drink was good, came out fast, and the people there were nice. Do recommend!

I absolutely love Yaya Tea! Their riceballs and drinks are seriously next level. My go-to riceballs are the Crawfish and Japanese — both are packed with flavor and always super fresh. You can really taste the quality in every bite. And don’t even get me started on their drinks — the Sweet Temptation with Lychee and Aloe is my favorite! It’s the perfect balance of fruity and refreshing, and the aloe adds such a nice texture. Every visit feels like a treat, and the service is always friendly and fast. Yaya Tea never disappoints!

Kam Hing Coffee Shop is a charming little spot tucked away in the bustling streets of Chinatown, NYC. Known for its delightful Chinese-style sponge cakes, this unpretentious café offers an array of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. The sponge cakes are light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness, making them a perfect treat any time of day.
I normally don't go and buy sponge cake, but these are really good, and I'd def come back. They have different flavors for you to choose. I really like the chocolate chips with like some melted chocolate pieces inside. Overall, the cake is soft, airy, not too sweet.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem Worth Finding! Kam Hing Coffee Shop is truly a hidden hole-in-the-wall treasure! We stopped by and were blown away by their incredible sponge cakes – we tried the coconut and strawberry flavors, and both were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. What made the experience even better was the staff. They went out of their way to modify our teas since we’re lactose intolerant, and the result was perfect – flavorful, refreshing, and just right. This place has that cozy, authentic charm that’s hard to find. Amazing food, warm service, and unbeatable sponge cakes – definitely worth a visit!

Stepping into this bakery felt like traveling back in time to the 1980s—it has wonderful retro charm. Their famous sponge cake truly lives up to the hype; it was incredibly fluffy and delicious. The staff were very kind, and the constant, unbroken line of customers proved just how popular this spot remains

OMG!!! Absolutely Incredible!!! That is the description of my tastebuds as I took a bite of the pandan sponge cake! They are absolutely de-licious. Ube is my favorite flavor in general. The Pandan was my overall favorite sponge cake. Where do I start… love that the sponge cake is perfectly flavored, and sweetened that gives each cake a perfect flavor without being overly sweet. The sponge cakes are fresh just as if they were baked in your Grandmother’s kitchen. The coconut flavor sponge cake melts in your mouth, and compliments the coffee. As a coffee lover, I recommend the Viet coffee, very smooth, the texture is creamy, and on a hot summer day the Viet Iced Coffee is perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed, and great to sit to have sponge cake & coffee with a friend. Special thanks to Ms. Lucky who is very kind, and really makes the bakery special. Could not ask for a better experience. Tip: This is a very popular bakery, and flavored sponge cakes sell out quickly. Try to arrive early in the day.

This cash-only establishment is a staple in Chinatown and known for their soft and fluffy sponge cakes. It's a bit hidden, but has seating on the inside, where you can enjoy your food and drinks. The staff here was so so friendly and sweet--giving me recommendations on drinks and their sponge cakes. I highly recommend coming earlier in the day as I went at around 3pm and most of their spongecake flavors (except 4) were already sold out by then. I ended up getting their pandan, chocolate chip, and classic sponge cakes as well as their green thai tea drink and everything was delicious. The sponge cakes were probably some of the fluffiest sponge cakes I've ever tried and the green thai tea was sweet and paired well with the cakes. My favorite cake was probably the chocolate but all were delicious. I would love to come back to try some of their other flavors!
Mia H — Google review
I was going to try the other famous sponge cake spot right across but the flashy signs drew me in to this place instead. I got a green tea sponge cake that was hard and dry. I asked to swap and they handed me another one from the same pile of premade cakes that's been sitting there. It was good, but far from "best sponge cake in town" unfortunately.
Sabrina L — Google review
The sponges cakes are absolutely delicious but I’m always finding egg shells in these. Have been getting them for almost a year and every time I find an egg shell or two. Very upsetting when you bite into the soft sponge cake and find something crispy that completely throws you off. No longer am able to enjoy it as because of having to be on constant lookout for egg shells.

If you're craving authentic Mexican cuisine, Charrito's Taqueria is a must-visit destination. This charming eatery offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, from flavorful tacos to fresh guacamole that will tantalize your taste buds. During my last visit with cousin Brian, we enjoyed the inviting atmosphere and opted for outdoor seating on a lovely summer day. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly staff and seated promptly by Julio, who provided excellent service throughout our meal.
First time eating here. Cute and cozy place. Love their outdoor seating. Staff was great and attentive. We really enjoyed our lunch. Was a little sad they didn't serve chips and salsa but I really don't need them anyway. I had vegetarian enchiladas and my husband had chicken enchiladas. Big variety of veggies not just onions and peppers like other places. Will definitely come back the next time we're in Hoboken.

I was so happy to be invited to this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. When I walked up, there was indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant was super cute. I walked in and was seated and served by Julio. He was great! I started with red sangria, and it was tasty. I then had the shrimp for an appetizer, and it was delicious! I then had the chicken tostados and chicken tacos. The chicken was a bit bland so I didn't enjoy it as much but the salsas they gave were very good with it. I will say I had a good experience. The chicken just needed more seasoning.
Des K — Google review
We were here for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Only a few tables were seated, we requested outside seating which they have on the sidewalk picnic tables and also smaller tables on the sidewalk. In the photos shrimp quesadillas. Which were pretty good. We ordered chips and guacamole which came out after our food. We had strawberry lemonade which was incredibly delicious tasted like they made it homemade with fresh strawberries not too sweet. Lots to pic from and surprisingly a large vegan section.
Tracy K — Google review
Excellent customer service, good drinks & guacamole, tacos were just ok. We loved how the guacamole was made fresh at the table for us. My shrimp tacos were ok, my friend ordered fish tacos and she didn’t like them. Said the fish was super bland. I would only return for drinks and guacamole.

Would not recommend this restaurant. Firstly,My friend waited 45mins to be seated. There were empty tables still the server said no at first and was rude and later when the other person came he helped us. The restaurant ambiance is very congested, crumpled and not hygienic. The server who took our order seemed very disinterested to take our order, was not friendly. The menu was very limited and the food was not good in taste. Also, I ordered coke they served me warm come and in a glass bottle, also had to wait for the straw for 10mins.
Rachana — Google review
The food was okay, they had lovely plates but they were chipped and not well kept. It looked like that there was a good idea behind this place but they couldn't implement it. The service was awful, we were sitting there waiting for our check for like 15 minutes and even after they brought the check it took them another 15 minutes to pick it up! The bad service was in all the other things too, noone brought us any water or filled our glasses or took care of any thing, we had to ask for every little thing! It wasn't nice!
Shima — Google review
I have been to the other location and I loved that place, and so i decided to try different location but it turned out not to be great, the food and drinks were not up to the mark was expecting it much better. and i am only giving stars for the server since he was nice and gave good service but the food really disappointed us. plus the sangria was very thin and like water, diluted. I wanted to send it back but I did let it go. when ordered other original mojito it was very sour. the food did not have taste, plus it came out before our drinks did. hoped for better experience
Heli M — Google review
Honestly, kind of disappointed with this place! I had high hopes :( Guac was below average, had no lime, tomato, onion.. so THAT was disappointing. The drinks were made poorly, we could barely finish them (and I love me a margarita). We had the chicken, Al pastor, and birria tacos; no complaints about the tacos, but also nothing to write home about. Service was below average, only 1 of our 3 servers were attentive and friendly. Great spot outside to people watch.

May Wah Fast Food is a popular Chinese eatery located in a cozy space in Chinatown. The menu features affordable Taiwanese street food, with nothing priced over $8.75. One of the standout dishes is the pork chop over rice, which is marinated and deep-fried before being served with flavorful sauce, pickled mustard greens, and Napa cabbage. Customers can also opt to add a tea egg for an extra treat.
If you haven’t had May Wah Fast Food you haven’t have AUTHENTIC food in Chinatown. This is a no frills restaurant with quick and efficient service. The food, however, is DELICIOUS. Their chicken leg over rice is always perfectly cooked and marinated in the perfect umami to pair with the fluffy rice. I highly recommend anyone looking for a delicious and filling meal to check out May Wah as they’re such a Chinatown staple with over 30 years of business under their belt.

If you're dining, go to the left side. Don't expect 5 star service, this isn't that type of place. The service isn't bad, it's just not that kind of place. The food is good overall. The pork chop over minced meat sauced rice with sour vegetables, it eats like Taiwanese style. It probably is, I didn't ask. It was pretty good. I would like the pork chop to to be breaded a little, but it is still tasty. For the price it can't be beat. The belle of the ball was actually the fried chicken leg. I really wasn't expecting it to be so tasty. The skin is so thin, and crispy while the meat tender. The right amount of salt and pepper. Don't let the decor fool you, May Wah is a hit, especially at it's prices

The restaurant has been around for at least 30 years as I've heard. I've been there many times the food is always consistent. And the service is quick and employees are nice. And the prices are reasonable. It's a rake out place but they took over the little store front next to it and created a little dine-in space.

Golden Steamer is a popular spot known for its Chinese steamed buns with a variety of fillings, including BBQ pork and pumpkin. Customers have raved about the fluffy texture and delicious fillings of the buns, which are reasonably priced at around $5 per pack of 6. The menu also includes options like custard cream, red bean, and salted egg buns.
OH MY GOSH i wish we had this where I live. Less than $3 for a HUGE 大包 (the “Big Bun”) in NYC?? Sooo good! Pork bun is also yummy <33 I’m gonna bring some home in my luggage LOL. The place is cash or venmo only I believe. They also had mooncakes (unsure if it’s seasonal for October) and packaged Asian bread/pastries.

Staff was super nice and explained what each bun was. There's no seating, but we stood to the side to try out the buns. The buns were very soft and had the right amount of moisture, not soggy at all. The filling was flavorful. We ended up getting three boxes for about $20!

Golden Steamer/Roast Pork Egg Bun: This pork bun was not fun to consume because there was too much bread and too little pork. At least the pigeons enjoyed feasting over the leftover bun.
Jeff C — Google review
I know this place got kind of popular online so I was expecting to have to shell out a little more than you do at some of the “underground” places. I was pleasantly surprised; I bought 5 buns and the total was like 8-12$ (I forgot the number but remember my shock at the steal). Not only was the food super cheap, it was also really good! I’m a fan of lean cuts of meat and normally compromise when I get a roast pork bun, but there was only 1-2 big chunks of fat. I also got the chicken bun and that was great as well. The red bean bun I liked less—definitely not sweet enough for my western tastes 😅.
Beatrice E — Google review
Golden Steamer is a Chinatown gem! If you’re in the area, this spot is a must. The buns are soft, fresh, and consistently delicious. The Pumpkin Bun is probably their most popular—sweet, smooth, and totally addictive. I also loved the Salted Egg Yolk Bun (sweet-salty perfection) and the Roast Pork Bun, which was packed with flavorful filling. Prices are super reasonable, and everything is steamed fresh. Great for a quick snack or to grab a few for later, as they reheat well. Service is fast, no-frills, and efficient.
David M — Google review
I stumbled upon this little bakery as it was across the street from my favorite Chinese grocery store. It's a tiny shop on a busy street full of shops. It's a pretty generic looking bakery so you can easily walk past and miss it. The place specializes in all sorts of steamed buns. I visited a few times and bought several different ones. I always buy the convenient prepackaged box of 6 buns to steam at home. They are freshly made, and I often see condensation inside the lid. You don't need a fancy bamboo steamer to reheat at home either! I use a trivet inside a low stock pot and the buns heat up wonderfully! They come out soft and fluffy like the first day! Notably, there is more bun to filling. However, the fillings are very sweet, so I think the ratio is on point! My favorites include the pumpkin, custard, and roast pork buns. The buns are very inexpensive too for the quality!
Jennifer — Google review
4.4 stars. Reasonably priced boxed take to take home stuffed buns. The bun is very light and fluffy. The red roast pork filling was a good amount and the taste was pretty good. We liked the smaller, slightly sweet, baked, 8-to-a-box, red roast pork buns better because of the higher meat to bun ratio. I tried the salted egg custard bun for the first time and it was pretty good. Comparable to Go Believe Bakery on Grand, which always has a consistent amount of meat but less airy bun.

I was hungry on a quiet, rainy day. We got the chicken fettuccine alfredo and an Italian sub. The Italian sub was alright, I was a little disappointed it only had one meat in it (ham), but that's alright, it still tasted decent. But the fettuccine alfredo was DELICIOUS. It was absolutely amazing, and I could not stop eating it. It's really big, so after a little while, it gets very heavy since it is very creamy, so I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people if you can. However, the interior of the place was very dirty, and I was very hesitant in eating inside the restaurant, however, I had no other choice. The workers were chill and nice though.

Just had chicken alfredo and the chicken wasn’t grilled it was burnt, the sauce taste like milk, no salt and the garlic bread not near garlic bread at all. Tasteless. Monetti’s you fell off and your prices are not worth it.

Really good pizza. Appears to be family run. My son just moved into neighborhood. On moving day I ordered my three test pizzas ( regular, pepperoni and white slice) all you need to judge a place. Sauce was good, cheese fresh, but its the crust that really makes this pizza. The wait time is really quick and the service is nice. They also have good meal deals. Downside parking is horrible so have it delivered.

1st time ordering here. Just passing through town. I ordered 2 plain slices. Had no expectations. I was delighted and enjoyed my two slices. Also very reasonably priced. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

Been coming here for years and today they just lost my business for good. I asked twice on the phone if they make buffalo chicken pizzas with tomato sauce, they said yes. We pick up the pizza and there's not tomato sauce. So we ask what happened and the guy copped an attitude about how that would have been extra. Ended up giving us a side of tomato sauce. No buffalo sauce either btw. Their pizza has been declining for months now. This was the nail in the coffin. Oh wait there's more! We also ordered mozzarella sticks. We open up the bag and there's clearly a bite take out of one. That's freaking gross. Don't come here.

This place is a hit or miss . I stop ordering for the longest time because the quality of food just wasn’t there anymore. I gave them a second chance the other day and the pizza was amazing but today it was terrible. I ordered half BBQ chicken pizza and that half of the pie was drenched in BBQ sauce . The cook had a bad attitude and the quality of the pie definitely showed . I don’t think I’ll be ordering from there again .

A Hidden Gem in Weehawken I recently discovered Michael’s Pizza and Wings in Weehawken, and I can confidently say that it’s a local treasure! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring every visit is memorable. The pizza is nothing short of spectacular. The crust strikes the perfect balance between crispy and chewy, with a flavor that can only come from a well-seasoned oven. Each slice is loaded with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the cheese… oh, the cheese! It’s perfectly melted, with just the right amount of stretch and gooeyness that makes every bite pure bliss. Whether you’re a fan of classic toppings or something more adventurous, Michael’s has something to satisfy every pizza craving. But let’s not forget the wings! Michael’s wings are hands down the best in town. They’re cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside – and come in a variety of mouthwatering flavors. Whether you prefer them tangy, spicy, or sweet, each bite bursts with flavor, leaving you reaching for just one more. What truly sets Michael’s apart, though, is the consistency and care in every dish. It’s clear that they take pride in what they serve, and it shows. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the quality is unmatched. If you’re in Weehawken and looking for a place that serves up some of the best pizza and wings around, Michael’s is the spot. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, you’ll be treated to an exceptional experience that keeps you coming back for more. Highly recommended!
