The 13 best breakfast and brunch in Maidenhead

Food was average, what you would expect from a Tony Carvery and the price point. The meat was nice but hardly any veggies, no cauliflower cheese and the servery was disgusting. We booked a table but still had to wait 50mins before we were seated. Once seated it was a further 15mins before someone came to take our order, and we had to ask to be served. I was told (by the girl stood around doing nothing) that she couldn’t serve us but would get someone who could yet she took orders from other tables. Staff walked by tables that needed clearing and cleaning multiple times. At one point I counted 8 tables that needed cleaning and multiple staff just walking past. The bar was dirty and staff slow. The guy carving the meats was very nice and told us that they had 600 booked today but over 850 come through so I know they were busy but the cleanliness or lack of just isn’t acceptable. It strikes me that this venue is very popular but poorly managed. It wouldn’t take many organizational skills to really make it run like clockwork but something that is currently not happening.

First time at a Toby, roast was decent portion sizes are good. But the bar is badly maintained the lines obviously aren't cleaned much the Stella was disgusting. Also said 'hello' to the woman behind the bar and got radio silence back, but was polite enough when she served me. Bargain for the carvery, but everything else is quite experience, a coke is 4 quid (and not on the refillable list on the menu). Went straight to tap water after my expensive pint of guinness which costs more than practically anywhere in London, inc central. This on the other hand was poured well and was delightful, maybe a bit too cold in terms of temperature; but on a hot day not complaining! The lady working the carvery was absolutely delightful by the way and great with kids. We were served by Sahara who was attentive but she didn't explain how the carvery actually works, fortunately members of our party were regulars and knew to just go up and get a plate. Worth mentioning I'm pretty sure this is the server who Jake McRidge commented on 4 months ago on your reviews; which is seriously worrying to whichever manager responded to that comment as they definitely don't know the staff here. Her appearance is pretty distinct with the black hair, piercing and tattoos and he got her name mostly right; so he was pretty accurate in his description and it's definitely either a lie or ignorance to say you wouldn't know who that was from the description.

Shocking food, was cold and gravy was like water. I didn't finish my food and left. If that was my only Toby carvery experience I would never go to another.

Great staff very friendly and attentive. No waiting for table. Food fresh and nice, could be a bit more flavoursome but for this price it's fine :) great desserts with good portion size. Car park available always a bonus

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience today. From the moment I walked in, Darren greeted me warmly and made me feel truly welcome. His service was prompt, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever feeling rushed. Darren anticipated my needs before I even had to ask, and every interaction felt sincere and professional. The food arrived quickly, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The combination of Darren’s exceptional service and the delicious food made my visit unforgettable.

Visited family who live in the area and decided to have a few drinks and carvery. We was seated and our orders were taken straight away the staff were very friendly and accommodating to all ours and the children's needs. I would definitely visit here again when in the area. The young lad who was waiting our table was so helpful and in return was left a nice tip for his great work. We used the app as a refer a friend and got 25% off the bill that came to £38 pound for food and drinks for the 5 of us which even without the discount would have been a very reasonable price for 5 people.

Went for a roast on a Sunday at 5pm. Food was absolutely shocking and completely inedible. Was ignored by our server for over half an hour waiting to say something, went and found the lovely manager Louise who told us we didn’t have to pay for the dinners (we didn’t eat much anyway) and gave us a free dessert & drink. She was so kind and understanding and made a bad experience 100X better! Thank you Louise!

Great pricing and a good location, right in the middle of town with decent service. The food is pretty standard pub grub with some 'flair'. Not much of a vibe though with occasional music(scarce). Decent outside area with seating and tables.

Had Guinness and chicken salad for dinner £12@ and then the next day breakfast £2.89/£2.99@. Consistent tasty food with great value for money and friendly service.

I go here for lunch often with my family, the food is always good, the staff are always friendly and understanding towards my sister who has special needs. There is a great variety of food all at a reasonable price and seating upstairs or down. The toilets are clean and well stocked.

Prices stuck in 2010, £2.79 for a breakfast, insane!! (In a good way). We usually go to King and Castle in Windsor - but no more. Bear it is from now on!

It’s okay, but there are issues. Hot chocolate and mocha have been removed from the breakfast free refills, which is disappointing. The machines also underperform—pressing “Hot Milk” gives barely an inch. If these were fixed, I’d have given 5 stars.

Food and service is amazing. lt feels like your in an Italian home kitchen, eating age perfected meals cooked by your Italian nan! Depth of flavour and hearty! The limoncello really tops it of. Dinner here is amazing, a hidden gem!

Popped in for breakfast whilst I was having my bike looking at with Bahnstormer Maidenhead which is just down the road. It was steady when I arrived with some tables free. Got served quickly and got a table. Lots of food options, but just breakfast. I went for standard breakfast at £9.50 where you get mushrooms, toast, 1 sausage, 2 bacon and 2 eggs plus beans. I added grilled tomatoes £2 and hash browns plus 2 teas. Food was spot on. Well cooked, hot and fresh. Hash browns were in the more crispy crunchy side for my liking but everything else was fine. Being picky, score low on the atmosphere as it was super noisy. The music was loud, the phone kept ringing and no one answering (despite not appearing busy) and the conversation noise increased so as to be heard over the other noise which made it all worse. Got super busy as I was leaving with no tables and lots of take outs so a popular place for good reason. I’d visit again. Breakfast on the more expensive side but good quality.

For £20, it was the cheapest ingredients. Had to take a picture. Granted, £6 was for another slice of bacon, an extra sausage and two hash browns, but they were all the cheapest versions you could get. Cannot recommend and only went because I was nearby and saw other reviews. What a waste of money and unfortunately a total ripoff.

This was our second visit to this very no thrills Italian restaurant and certainly won’t be our last. Food is first and foremost in this authentic Italian establishment. My wife had the Carbonara and I myself had the lasagna. Both of us agreed that we’ve never eaten better than these before.Absolutely delicious!! Look forward to returning soon. Also a big thank you to all members of staff for making our visit so special… See you all soon!!

My partner and I really enjoyed visiting Palmieri's. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The cafe itself is nicely decorated and very clean. The food was delicious and reasonably priced :). We'd definitely visit again if we are ever in the area.

One of the best cafes in Maidenhead if you are after good food, service and happening vibe on the highstreet. You can have seat in the cafe to enjoy the presence of the crowd or grab a seat next to waterfront and enjoy some calmness.

The cafe is very clean, service is excellent but most importantly for me, the food (and drinks) are exceptional. The cakes are especially good quality and the portions are generous. They don't cut corners on quality for a quick profit. I had the bakewell tart, carrot cake and pistachio lemon cakes (on separate occasions) and they were fresh and like homemade. Lots of nuts in the lemon pistachio and carrot cake. They must have a great baker. They have some vegan and gluten free options. I worked from there a couple of times and saw a few others also. Nice environment with some outside seating at the front and at the side with a view of the river and inside has variety of options.

Went to this lovely bakery selling freshly cooked on site on the day produce. Had a lovely coffee, spinach borek & San Sebastián cheesecake. So delicious and fresh. The staff were all so very friendly and helpful.

Been visiting this place for over four years now and must say the staff is always cheerful, happy to help with any dietary requirements. The food is extremely delicious. Can’t compare to any other bakery I’ve been to and the fact that they make Turkish coffee is just perfect!! (+dog friendly)

Visited here daily while staying nearby for work food very nice but a bit pricey to go to daily if I lived in the area. Perfect for a treat or if you’re caught short for lunch. I would recommend 💪🏼

We had breakfast at Bakedd Artisan Bakery & Café and everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The tea and coffee were amazing and made perfectly. The staff were so kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful — they made us feel really welcome and cared for. A lovely, warm atmosphere with outstanding food and service — highly recommend! It was absolutely fantastic.

What’s a little gem, didn’t intend on coming here but it was part of the journey in the end, really good service, lovely indoors and outdoors, we managed to sit outdoors under a canopy of plants. Food was good, the price was good, literally nothing to fault, Riverside and very pleasant, beautiful playground for my Son as well.

Cute cafe in Maidenhead next to a car park and a mini golf area! We were cycling along the Jubilee river and came to have breakfast here 🍳 We sat outside and parked our bikes next to us which was nice and safe We ordered the light breakfast and the vegetarian one and both were nice Breakfast options are basic but they have a selection of cakes inside which is nice Staff are very kind and prices are very good!

I’ve been to Jenners Riverside Cafe a few times. It’s a useful place for a drink and snack when walking the Thames Path. There‘s a mini golf, a play park and car park there. Today I went for a coffee today, but even though it was mid afternoon on a Saturday, it was shut.

Would give 0 if I could! Staff unfriendly. Treating me different to the Caucasian customers. Never felt so belittled. When I checked the trip advisor reviews most seemed to say similar. The dishes were dirty and look unhygienic like the women with bad attitudes serving. Food was awful.

Me and my dad ate there about 30 minutes ago, and now we both feel ill. Have symptoms of food poisoning. Eat there at your own risk.

Was extremely happy with my meal for the price £9.90 I ordered tempura prawns with salad and skinny chips The portion size really generous and the whole plate of food was lovey Prompt and very friendly staff I highly recommend Sat outside and was lovely and peaceful

There's a really nice café on the high street in Maidenhead that I recently visited. It's pleasantly quiet, providing a relaxing atmosphere perfect for a leisurely meal or a bit of work. They offer a fantastic range of breakfast options, from classic dishes to more modern twists, ensuring there's something for everyone. The service is friendly and efficient, making the whole experience enjoyable and worth revisiting.

It's a nice little restaurant and cafe that services italian food and English breakfast. We went there as we couldn't find anything else with the kitchen open after 3 pm. They managed to accommodate us as it wasn't busy and but they told us that we had to wait about 20 min for the food, which was fine. Their homemade lemonade is nice, and they serve their moka in very big cups. The food portions are also quite big. The chicken was okay, although a bit more seasoning would make it even better, and the pasta was also good, but nothing too special. The service was nice and friendly. But it will be nice if they freshen up the place to make it more cosy and do some renovation of their customer toilets.

Very friendly staff. Had the American breakfast I changed out hash browns for beans , it came out in good time and was nice and hot. The eggs a good size, beans nice bacon was nice, sausage was rather dry and over cooked, shame as it would have been a 5 star breakfast.

They serve lovely dishes. The penne al pesto is very delicious and the cajun chicken is just awesome… butterfly chicken with creamy mushroom sauce is another lovely dish. A lovely cafe for some delicious food. Has never disappointed.

[Breakfast]. Very good value and good quality. Cumberland sausage was nicely cooked and good quality. Eggs were poached and still soft, shape could have been better. Really liked the mushrooms cooked in Garlic butter which gave them a good flavour. Beans as well with 2 slices of bread. And the bacon was good as well. Oh and the large tea was well large and had 2 Teabags with proper biking water which gave a great strong brew, rather than the semi hot water from a coffee machine likely most places. The bacon & egg sandwich was also great as well. The only room for improvement would be more mushrooms and a freshly baked loaf, but then it would cost more. Will we go back - Yes

The staff really outdo themselves, very attentive, polite and quick. I love this place for their breakfast meals which have different variations of an English breakfast. The tapas are also a great choice. The food is really tasty but some meals I’ve found just a little bit too oily. The service is amazing and prices are really fair.

“A 4.5-Star Mystery” The coffee here is genuinely awful. Weak, bland, and topped with sad bubbles like someone frothed it using an old aquarium pump. There’s clearly zero effort put into making it — just hot milk with a vague memory of coffee. And yet they have 4.5 stars? I can only assume it’s from people who’ve never tasted actual coffee. Or taste buds held hostage by convenience — they’re the only café nearby, and it shows. Almost £5 for a cup of disappointment. (Photo attached, because you wouldn’t believe me otherwise.) And no — before you ask — that’s not my dog’s bath water in the photo. But it could’ve fooled me.

Saints Cafe is has a fantastic atmosphere, friendly, superb staff, and serves delicious coffee and food! Tried the iced coffee, which was divine in this hot weather. The new service counter in full of delicious food, both savoury and sweet, and caters well for gluten free too. My regular place for coffee

Fantastic Cafe! Great selection of drinks and if coffee is your poison get one from here. Staff are always friendly and service is quick. The food is on the higher end however worth every penny!

Stylish little cafe with great customer services and delicious breakfast, loved it

I went in on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago and had a really strange experience. I requested and paid for 2 almond croissants to take away, but after I got home, I realised I'd been given 2 plain croissants mistakenly (which is fine - this can happen when things are busy!) The strange part was after I'd driven back to the cafe to explain the situation and ask for my order to be corrected, the servers just looked at me, and then each other blankly and didn't say a word. No apology for the trouble, no "let me exchange them for you right away"...nothing. They just exchanged the croissants and handed them back to me in silence. Very weird - I won't be back!

Such a great breakfast, the bread was nice and light, we had a veggie breakfast and an egg&bacon roll along with a lovely hot pot of tea! I mean it’s next to a petrol station but you don’t really notice that, great stop while you get your car serviced at Autocare. I heard the pizzas are incredible, yet to try!

Found this place by pure chance, it is such a delightful eatery. Margherita pizza, Alfredo with king prawns, tiramisu and cheesecake were all so so good.. will deffo be going back.

The food was freshly made and so good. We didn't have a chance to get a full meal but did try bruschetta and lasagna for a light lunch. Would love to go back for pizzas and others.

I am sorry owner for my low review, but I consider is fair peoples know my experience, and don't make it wrong like us. We find you on Google Maps on a high review, while being in holiday around your area and we said deserve to try you for a dinner... We find the food to be expensive, but we didn't run away, expecting an extrem italian quality + big portions under this high review., but was normal quality, with decent small portions.., nothing extreme to reflect that expensive prices.. I may be a poor old facion person.....but what hurt the most was that 10% service charges(+6£) on top of the bill.., just like that..even we paid £60 for 2×12" pizzas, 2×portions of pastas + 2×small sparking waters.. In over 15 years living in UK, and traveling many times in Italy and Spain, I didn't find yet big restaurants to charge this amount.., what to say about your small 20-25 seats shop..., with a restricted shared parking. I'm sorry again, but I think is right to be fare, and is good for new clients to prepare that, in the end they will pay 10% on top of the exposed prices.

Lovely Italian i will call it proper Italian restaurant very fast order pizza margarita come in minutes the sourdough home made lovely simple delicious 😋 😀. Come back the second have lovely bacon and hasb brown on a bap from the first bite I new that bap was made in house succulents well-done guys

Possibly the best lasagna I’ve had! We ordered the burrata starter, the lasagna, and a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza for the kids. The food was delicious! I recommend asking the server what is best because ours gave us great guidance. The location is a little weird, it’s between an auto shop and a gas station, but the restaurant itself is very cute. I also ordered a latte, but sent it back because it was very bitter. I told our waitress we would of course still pay for it, but she still took it off the receipt and offered to make us another. I’m a big coffee drinker and am being honest when I say it was pretty bad, but I think they roast their own beans and it might have been a fluke…so maybe still give it a try.

I hadn't been to a McDonald's in years but had some coupons so decided to visit. It's in maidenhead town centre so pedestrian only area (not even bicycles...yikes. no place to tie one up either). As far as it goes it's a standard one. Great service (order was ready super fast) but typical Mickie D's atmosphere. Overall, if you want a McDonald's, this is a fine one.

Typical Macca's in the centre of town. The food was actually hot and fresh which made a pleasant change. It was lunchtime so full schoolkids, but I was able to find a clean table. As always at these places the service was indifferent as the staff are always so busy.

Worker here at maidenhead we popped in to have someone breakfast and we were greeted with one worker with a plait in here hair on the 09/06/25 at 10am she stands and stares at you making you feel really uncomfortable. Her manager needs a serious word with her. WILL NOT BE RETURNING

The restaurant looked very clean and tidy. Order machines were working well. Tables and chairs nicely spaced out. Food came quickly and was hot. Chicken and bacon salad was disappointing, one slice of tomato, 3 bits of cucumber, and lots of the same greens. I decided I don't like mcdonalds grilled chicken either, the texture seems wrong. Overall, it was a nice mcdonalds with efficient staff and service.

Feb 2024 updated. We still call this the CANTEEN. Great place, awesome staff, the hospitality is brilliant. Time to time it gets really busy, saying this it’s because it a great place to have meeting and meet socially for coffee. The new refurb makes it an ideal place to come and have a meeting or meet a friend for coffee.

Terrible terrible atmosphere! Unfortunately, Starbucks in Taplow isn’t very good anymore. There is a problem with staff, and unfortunately there is no equality and it’s purely female and quite moody is the atmosphere. I visited yesterday and the member of staff really just didn’t care on the till was more concerned about talking to a colleague. Customer service involves talking to the customer. I visited with my mum of people and she was told incorrect information about the coffee that she was ordering. Is it possible to teach the staff about coffee because some people really would like to know information? I wanted to interject and say you are not giving the right information , but I thought let’s leave a review on Google because that is the best way to do things rather than talk to somebody who doesn’t want to engage. I wasn’t acknowledged as a customer neither was my mother and yeah, what a disappointing visit. The same goes for Central Slough store. What a shame our local starbucks are rubbish. Have some energy people drink some coffee and enjoy your work. Not a single smile given to the customer yesterday absolutely shocking! The coffee quality of my whole milk venti latte was also poor. 0 stars Being a customer for over 20 years you really expect a bit of service specially when you scan your app, but never mind I won’t be returning

Some lazy staff that can’t be bothered to walk an extra 2 ft, when your standing near to the sugar counter, I even waved at her and she just smirked and put it on the other counter, when I said to the guy who actually could be bothered to do his job properly, he said “it’s busy” they do this all the time here, obviously have never had to do a hard days work in their life

Ok, really clean spacious and bright Starbucks connected to the Sainsburys but they mixed both our cold brew coffees with the cream instead of leaving it on top and the coffee tastes watered down

A spacious venue that's attached to Sainsbury's, so there's a slightly odd layout. Still, the food was fresh and hot, the coffee was as you would expect from Starbucks, and the staff were efficient and friendly. Plenty of parking made out a convenient stop on the way to a client, too.

A great little place to stop off at either while you're mid-journey or local and just fancy a really good breakfast! Great tasting food at fantastic portion sizes go hand in hand with the warm and friendly service. This place is clearly a labour of love

Went for a cheeky Friday breakfast....don't tell the wife. This cafe felt like a good old fashioned greasy spoon and we all love that!!! Had the middle sized English breakfast and it was delightful, cooked perfect and decent ingredients. Happy staff, happy food and plenty of parking. Happy days!!

Five stars all round but do not be expecting fine dining. It’s an honest cafe serving filthy fry ups. Order a MEGA for all your classic fry up elements but black pudding is extra. If there’s an unwanted element it can be easily exchanged for something else. Good value and a delicious treat.

Popped in with a pal for a quick lunch. I had the chicken curry which was absolutely delicious with a huge amount of tender chicken and my mate had the all day breakfast with fried bread that he’s still raving about. Served by a lovely lady, plates delivered by a very friendly waiter and excellent value for money. Highly recommend, keep up the great work.

Visited Square Deal last week had not been there for many years. It was a lovely breakfast, tasty, lots of it and not greasy - had the mega with black pudding and good old fried bread 😋 Place was lovely and clean. Staff friendly very helpful and accommodating, they allowed me to swap hash browns for black pudding. I'm local and will definitely be going back. If you're travelling down the A404 well worth the 10 min detore down the A4. Easy access huge carpark so great for large vehicles and trailers - caravans, motorhomes etc. As caravaners we would be over the moon to find a place like this on our holiday travels. Not many places like this around anymore.

Brilliant cafe portion size could be bigger for cost but if you choose the biggest on menu you'll be full! Food cooked to perfection.

Love love love this place. Living local and with my family near by, we often meet here with the kids in summer. They serve AMAZING food and at a decent price. Waiting times are not too bad, but the queues can get a little long on hot days. If I was to be overly critical I would like to see the following, although not all possible: - More seating and tables - More than one till or faster till service - Sale of alcohol (probably not possible given the type of venue and area, but I like a drink, so it's in my list lol) If I could recommend anything it would be the cheese chips with the selection of dipping sauces. Absolutely out of this world!

Brilliant cafe that knocks the spots off the previous management years back. Prices are very very reasonable, the menu is enormous and the staff are really lovely, helpful, friendly people. Couldn't ask for more. If you don't order the onion rings you're missing out!

I tried Cocobar today and they did not disappoint! I got a chocolate milkshake which was lovely! I then got their signature chocolate waffle. This came with bananas, strawberries, vanilla ice cream and gorgeous melted chocolate drizzled on top. It was amazing! And I received one for free as they were celebrating their one year anniversary! They also have such a variety of products in the cafe too! 100% recommend and will be revisiting.

My favourite place in Maidenhead! Amazing high quality and tasty desserts and food. The customer service and staff are brilliant and very everything is reasonably priced. The chocolate products are so tasty. I highly recommend the white mocha, signature waffle and dessert bombs.

Well I just happened to meet a friend and we decided to go to this new place. We were absolutely pleased with the ambience. I had a vegan panini which was so delicious and it filled me in. I then ordered chocolate bomb. Had I known how tempting it would be I would have started with that. It was absolutely gorgeous and was the store managers recommendation to me. The dessert range is just amazing and so is the collection of toasties and paninis. The portion sizes were amazing. The store manager was this amazing lady who was attentive to everybody. The staff was really good. Would definitely recommend everyone to visit and a disclaimer please share the chocolate bomb.

A very clean and well presented outlet. Staff helpful and friendly. Wide range of hot and cold drinks along with what looked like very fresh and tasty cakes Would recommend a visit (even if you don't like chocolate drinks).
