Nice micropub selling local ales and cider, will be returning 👍

Great micropub. Always got a great porter or stout on. Never disappoints.
Jim N — Google review
We attempted to visit this pub 45 minutes before it was due to close for the evening. Despite several customers sitting inside drinking still, the door was locked and we were refused entry. I find it sad and incredible that people are so reluctant to make money after surely suffering huge losses? As well as the contradiction of an inhospitable hospitality venue. We won't bother to revisit.
Sally C — Google review
Excellent hosts. Wonderful cider. Entertaining special guest singer who celebrated my pub crawl...what more could you ask for? Though maybe not the Disco.

Tiny craft ale gaff on the highstreet. Only had a half, lovely beer. Very welcoming place, offered free chips. Made a nice change and I will try to visit again.

Pub
Nestled in the heart of Sittingbourne, Jenny Wren stands out as a beloved pub that perfectly captures the essence of classic British dining. This charming venue is ideal for gathering with family and friends over hearty pub fare. The grill menu boasts an array of flavorful dishes, complemented by a pizza oven that churns out deliciously crafted pizzas. For those who enjoy sampling various flavors, Jenny Wren offers enticing sharing platters alongside an extensive dessert selection to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Working local and only a 3 minute drive from my accommodation, I thought I would try the Jenny Wren for dinner. I was not disappointed! I was taken to a table immediately and scoured the menu. Then, I scanned the QR code on the table and ordered my food. I chose the Surf and Turf, Sirloin steak with Peppercorn sauce ( medium/rare ). My drink came out 5 minutes later, and my food turned up a further 10 minutes after. It was quite busy in there so was pleased I didn't have to wait too long. The steak was cooked to perfection and no fat on it. Chips were a reasonable portion and niceand the scampi was lovely to. All in all, a good meal. I will be returning Sunday to try their Sunday roast.
Chris B — Google review
Came here for lunch today with my partner. We have never been here before, and probably won't be returning unfortunately. I know this is a bit of a pub / restraunt chain, and I don't expect great things but I was rather disappointed with most aspects of this lunch. First off, we entered to a quiet, calm, happy place with polite staff. Good start. But that's about where the good ends to be honest. We weren't greeted at the door where we waited to be seated, just hurled at from across the bar and told to sit where we like. We chose the quieter end of the location and took our seats. After a few minutes, small issues were noticeable that really did let this place down and gave us an indication of what we were in for. There was a spider web in the light above us, which hangs down over the table. The tables are sticky, even after wiped. The chairs in all honesty, are filthy ... And I mean filthy. The menus are sticky, the place has a stale smell about it, and the cutlery we didn't trust so we just used our hands to eat. 30 minutes after ordering, our mozzarella dough balls arrived. They were good. Nice tasting, fresh and served in a small bowl. Good. Happy with them. But then we waited another 30 minutes (a whole hour after ordering) for our burgers and chips to arrive. This was disappointing as the place was fairly quiet when we arrived, but an hour later, had become quite busy. The food was piping hot from the inside, I'd say too hot in the middle, indicating the food had been warmed in a microwave, but, the burgers ( both mine and my partners ) were burnt. And believe me, it was no "char" or anything seasoned, they were simply burnt. We know this because we had the same burgers at the five bridges on the island, and they were perfect. I also crunched down on something so hard, I thought my tooth had come out but it hadn't. It was just a chunk of burnt beef.. to top off our lovely burnt burgers, the lettuce was very clearly out of date. As you can see from the photos, they were brown, wilted, and smelt crap. We actually removed the lettuce from our burgers and placed it in a bowl. The chips were ok and the onion rings were nice and crispy. Overall, the average food, the very slow service, and the janky tables and seats made for a less than average experience today. Just glad we had a discount to use and didn't pay full price. We swiftly left when someone started hacking up behind us and coughing her lungs up, several mothers waltzed in with buggies and prams, and the lads started to gather in the beer garden... Overall, you'll get better elsewhere, for less. I did expect more from a place that looks fairly nice from the outside, but very clearly needs some money spent on the inside.
Adam J — Google review
We had a bit of a wait to have anyone to even acknowledge us at the 'please wait to be seated' area. Plenty of staff around but nobody seemed to come over to us. Fantastic food and prompt service. Only let down really was the ladies toilets. All stalls bar one had no toilet paper. And the one that did had toilet paper all over the floor and was unflushed that was pretty grim. So tried using the disabled/parent toilet. Couldn't use the hand dryer as the bin was directly underneath and some beautiful creature had left a used nappy underneath the dryer. This was the same 3 hours later when I nipped to the loo before leaving. I did point out to the bar staff that there was no toilet paper in the ladies. Apart from that it was a very enjoyable evening out.

Stopped in for a few drinks after a funeral yesterday, about 20 of us breezed in on the off chance of it being quiet and had a large order but the bar staff were bang on form and got us all sorted woth no quibbles, cant comment on the food as we only had drinks but they do have a good selection of beers and ales. Well worth a Sunday lunchtime visit I reckon
Matt — Google review
We visited the restaurant as part of a large group booking of 20. No wait for a table as we had pre booked. To their credit, the wait time for both food and drinks was reasonable despite the size of our party, which we appreciated. That said, there were a few issues that took away from the overall experience. One drink was missing, we had ordered seven Pepsis but only received six. The staff member giving us the drinks told us that we had only ordered six, even though the receipt clearly showed seven. Once we proved this we then received the missing drink. The food was a mixed bag. Some dishes were okay, but quite a few were overcooked, particularly the meats in the burgers and mixed grills, which were more burnt than grilled. The cheesy garlic bread was especially disappointing: no visible cheese and very dry and burnt. We also ordered wings, 10 piri piri and 5 BBQ, but the order received was incorrect. When we pointed this out and asked for the missing 5 piri piri wings, they agreed and then a couple minutes later they told us that we need to pay for them again which we did, despite the mistake being on their end. While we understand that errors can happen especially with a large booking, it was disappointing how the situation was handled. When it came to dessert, the ice creams were supposed to come with two wafers, but each arrived with only one. It might seem like a minor detail, but when you're paying for a product and don’t receive it as described, it’s fair to mention. It’s the small things that add up to the overall experience. The staff were professional in their communication, although their overall demeanour came across as disinterested and unenthusiastic. There was a noticeable level of sarcasm in some responses, and visible eye rolls when we answered their questions. While we recognise that large group bookings can be challenging, the attitude began before any issues had even occurred, which made the atmosphere feel less welcoming than it could have been. I will say that one member of staff with brunette hair, didn’t catch her name, is not included in the above, she was polite smiling and could not fault her service at all. Overall, while the service was prompt and the basics were covered, the food quality and handling of customer concerns left room for improvement. To be clear, this review isn't written to simply complain or be a “negative Nancy,” but to reflect honestly on the experience we had and to inform others of what they might expect. We hope it helps both potential customers and the restaurant in improving the service they provide
Erin R — Google review
Clean and tidy bar. Very helpful staff. Good choice on the menu. Five diners in our party and all really enjoyed their meals and having a promotion code was really helpful. Nice atmosphere. The only negatives were IT related - we tried to order using the QR code but the mobile signal was poor and I couldn’t connect to the wifi. My sister did manage to order desert using the QR code but we then waited nearly half an hour (after prompting) for our deserts to arrive. Not a big deal as we weren’t in a rush but others may not have been so patient.

Bobbing Apple Brewers Fayre in Sittingbourne is a laid-back family pub and restaurant that offers classic dishes and international favorites at great-value prices. The friendly service and tasty, laid-back meals make it a place you'll want to visit again and again. The menu features popular items like the Smothered Chicken, which can be doubled up for just 1.99, as well as delicious desserts such as Caramel Apple Betty and Triple Chocolate Brownie.
Found out about their all you can eat breakfast a few days ago, so made a trip there this weekend. It was excellent. £10.99 gets you as much cooked and continental breakfast as you want, along with unlimited teas/coffees/juice. Food was very good and plentiful, with a nice selection to choose from. A huge bonus is that kids eat free. Yes. All they can eat. For free. No complaints from us and we'll definitely be back.
Martin W — Google review
Visited for lunch. The menu has some good value items on with a selection of meals priced at two for 11.99 with starters and desserts at 2.99 each. Expect value and reasonable prices, it's not gourmet food but my meal was cooked well and arrived at my table hot. Portions are adequate. There's plenty of seating available. Parking is free for up to three hours but please enter your car reg. Into the pad by the bar or risk a penalty charge. They do a roast on Sundays for £11.99 and you help yourself to everything but the meat so great if you have a healthy appetite. There is a kids menu and this is a family restaurant suitable for all. There is limited outside seating. A Premier Inn hotel is on site. The staff I interacted with were pleasant enough but there were not many of them. There is an App available, sign up to get offers. At the moment ent they're offering 2 main meals for the price of one on their App but not this is on main menu meals only.

Had a really good meal here this past bank holiday weekend... Good selection, cooked really nicely and presented as it should be. They seemed a little short staffed but the attending staff were top drawer, helpful and polite and running around making sure they tended to all the customers. Excellent service, we will be returning after service like that. Well done 👌🏽⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mark M — Google review
I ordered a spicy Korean Burger with chips and coleslaw. But there is no coleslaw on my plate and there is no Asian slaw in my burger.

We went in on a Tuesday lunchtime as its great value with the £6 meals. The food was great and the staff friendly. A bit of a wait though considering there was only 2 other people in there. Will visit again as it is very welcoming.
Julie G — Google review
Last night I arrived stupidly late after work and was desperate for something to eat back at the hotel. The kitchen was 5 minutes from closing and I felt so awful and offered to leave so they could close up. The staff were amazing and were more than happy to accommodate my needs. I didn’t get the kind lady’s name behind the bar but she had short white hair. Thank you to the lovely kitchen staff and amazing team here!!
Connie — Google review
It took over 40 minutes to get our meals - we ordered a pizza and two children’s meals. Ridiculous. There were 6 (ish) other tables, so the place was decently empt, there’s no reason it should have taken that long. When we finally got our pizza, it was raw in the middle. Ugh. Added a star for a small indoor play area
Margaret T — Google review
We visited on Saturday afternoon, for the first time in many years. There were no staff to be seen anywhere. We picked a table but couldn't believe how sticky it was! We moved tables looking for the least sticky, then went to the bar to order. No staff appeared and after 5 minutes we decided to call it a day and leave. The bar was as sticky as the tables, obviously what they are using to clean the tables is melting the varnish. I won't be going back. It's in desperate need of a refit or new management.

The Golden Hope - JD Wetherspoon is a local pub with a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere, offering delicious pub meals and cocktails. The brick-lined setting includes outdoor seating and an architectural folly in the form of a small windowed lookout above the roof ridge. The pub has historical significance, as it sits beside large square alleyways that once accommodated horse-drawn carriages.
Nice well positioned weatherspoons with great looking interior with friendly staff. Food was good and great value for money. Best medium rare steak I've had at a weatherspoons to date. Nice cold well priced larger. Will definitely visit again when back in the area.

My friend and I who are both 19 went and ordered alcoholic drinks. They asked for our IDs after we paid for the drinks and my friend showed a picture of her ID (which they have accepted before). They said they do not accept that and they told her not to drink it, leaving the glass on the table. After we had a sip of the drinks we paid for, they came and asked my friend to leave and did not even offer a refund. Since they have accepted a picture of her ID before she did not bring a physical one. They need to train their staff properly.
Denisa D — Google review
Entrance is via steep steps, although there is disabled access around the side. Very noisy inside. Only assistance dogs with certification present are allowed, even in the outside areas. Such a shame dog owners with well behaved dogs are deliberately excluded. Beer range poor although price for some beer excellent. Go here for value rather than quality.
G K — Google review
Breakfast at Wetherspoons is cheap and cheerful, we’ve had it loads of times, bottomless coffee is always good, but today was a big miss. The eggs looked like they were cooked yesterday and microwaved today? The place pretty dirty. Ordering on the app is handy. Wouldn’t come back though. Sorry but the food was just terrible.
Molotoval — Google review
They are doing a local craft cider promotion for the whole month. Went in yesterday to order a toffe apple cider. We dont have anything left on the leaflets and although we have no stock of any ciders on the promotion we have to leave the leaflets out for the rest of the month even though we have no stock.
Kieron G — Google review
Staff are few in number and as a consequence so too is the service. I was greeted by a staff member who clearly hated their job and continued to express their dissatisfaction with their miserable lot in life, whilst they served me; crashing and banging items on the bar and behind whilst muttering how much they hated it all. I initially thought, 'perhaps they have had a bad day?' But no, I visited again a week later and experienced exactly the same issue with another staff member. In summary, staff appear to view this place as akin to working in purgatory. On the upside, the food was good, but there weren't enough staff to deliver to the tables.
Graham H — Google review
Good for a few cheap drinks before going on but as normal not enough bar staff to serve waiting customers.

UPDATED 15/12/2022 Went for the first time today with the family. The service was great and the lady very friendly and chatty. We ordered all of the starters just to try all of them to see about getting them as buffet food for an up coming wedding. The food was delicious. I can not fault the place. My only concern is that the toilets are upstairs but I didn't ask if there was a disabled toilet downstairs. Looking forward to returning for a wedding. Update...just had daughters wedding. Everyone was over the moon with the table set up and the food was great. I recommend this venue, the staff are amazing. So helpful and friendly.

We had the Fish & Chip Feast which was full on and very nice. It uses the chain standard menu and the chain goes for a sports pub theme. Staff really friendly and helpful and we were given a table away from the screens.

Don’t bother buying 2 for 1 cocktails at almost £12… they were no bigger than a shot glass!!!

The food is so well cooked and Lauren (the friendliest, most beautiful chef in existence) came to check on us as we had some questions about the food and even gave us recommendations for dessert and tweaked my daughters dessert for a different icecream sauce! Love her, I would eat anything she cooked, probably even a soggy boot! Kelly behind the bar could not do enough to help out and was knowledgeable, professional and well presented. Will be returning!!

Very dissapointed..... The limited menu (No Scampi, fish, All day Breakfast or Gammon available)???? I ordered Katsu Chicken. After over 45 minutes of waiting my order arrived. As I'm a self confessed foody, when presented with a incinerated, deep fried dried up piece of chicken in a burnt breadcrumb coating with a dollop of powdery tasting sauce I was not impressed..... The chips were hard in the centre, almost crunchy! Peas were a mixture of dried up and freshly microwaved, there's no sign of the spring onions....... We are the paying customers, if it wasn't for the customers you wouldn't have a business. Please remember this! On a positive. The waitress was very professional and when questioned, she was embarrassed to say that if I'd asked for a replacement it would probably be the same.

Perfect place for lunch or dinner with family and / or friends. Very good quality food and ales available. Nice setting and ambience inside and out. Would 100% recommend.

A pleasant country pub that comes into its own in the summer. Sitting in the garden on a summer's evening isn't a bad way to pass the time. The food's pretty good too (averaging about £15 a dish). The pub is situated in the small village of Rodmersham. The most famous resident was the artist Edward Ardizzone - and yet not one of his paintings/illustrations graces the wall of the pub.
Jeremy F — Google review
A fantastic country pub in a lovely, quiet, village location. The Fruiterers has a nice recently refurbished restaurant which serves up some pretty tasty food. Staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It has a nice beer garden for the summer and warm, cosy fires for the winter. There is normally some music playing in the background and it has a good atmosphere. Now, under new management, The Fruiterers is now even better than ever, the pub has a proper village pub feel about it again. The beer garden is perfect for the summer with plenty of benches and it also has some pretty cool sheds/cabins you can sit in for added privacy or for a bit of shade. Highly recommended. Update. Returned recently and had a fantastic fish and chips, which was massive and super tasty. The staff and locals are all so friendly and welcoming it is definitely worth a visit.

Great little pub. Really friendly staff and atmosphere. Super food. Fantastic Guinness too. I'd totally recommend a visit.

A warm welcome at this traditional village pub. The cosy interior makes you feel at home and the friendly and efficient staff are always a pleasure. A couple of beers followed by a decent meal. You can't go wrong with a prawn cocktail followed by their fish and chips board which included a really tasty battered sausage. Roll on my next visit to Rodmersham!

Pleasant welcomeing atmosphere, with extremely attentive staff. We had a really enjoyable good value for money meal. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. Knocks spots off of the Witherspoons, which is just around the corner 100% will go back again, and have already been recommending it to others.

Iv been here twice so far first time for food second for a quick cocktail. Food was really good and the staff were friendly once someone had actually greeted us. However we stopped here for a cocktail for 3 people and I wish we hadn't bothered. £25 for the cocktails to be 80% ice. Barely any drink in it. Definitely won't ever be ordering a cocktail in there ever again, such a waste of money

Great place for a family meal including young children and dogs. Food is not a la carte but then you clearly don't expect high class cuisine at this kind of restaurant but what it does, it does very well. Im not a fan of the "order on-line" system. We ended up buying two kids meals and didn't get a curry we thought we had ordered. Our fault l know but l didn't find the ordering system very user friendly, with too many add ons or other options available: all of which had to be selected for the order to complete. However staff were efficient and we had a great night.

This is a great place for a meal. Well priced tasty food and drinks. The atmosphere was great and welcome was friendly. I'd definitely go back and would highly recommend to friends! Thanks for the great night!

Went on a Monday evening - very quiet! Took advantage of the free drink/dessert offer on Mondays. Food and service was OK but my curry had been kept hot for a while - a bit of a skin on top of the sauce. Table ordering via a QR code worked OK but to add drinks, etc you have to order again, pay again, rather than just paying for everything in one go old-style. Place was clean. I would go again, or maybe to Nandos opposite instead...

Visitor to Sittingbourne and this place was recommended… had the Dan Dan noodles with Chinese pork belly - absolutely delicious! My new favourite meal!
Linda M — Google review
Unexpectedly beautiful in the evening, candle light dinner with a friend. The candles give for a warm cosy environment which I love. The food came out promptly and was ok for vegan options, I chose to have the 3 tapas style options... Hummus with pitter bread ( not enough bread to dip in my opinion and not toasted, it would of made a bit of a difference if it had been toasted) the beans and kidney beans were tasty and the bang bang coliflour was my favorite with two different sauces. The customer service was good, prompt being a very busy Sat evening. All very young staff but doing their best and producing a very good service considering how busy it was. What I wasn't happy with was the fact that there were not enough staff and so putting the pressure on the 3/4 staff serving for the whole restaurant. I requested that my food was not to be touched as I needed to check my car and half the table got tidied up, along side my chips which I was using to dip my food. It took a while to get service at that point to replace them but over all a really nice experience.

The Red Lion Sittingbourne is a historical pub located in the heart of Sittingbourne's High Street. It offers a variety of affordable beers and spirits, with favorites like Staropramen and Timothy Taylor Landlord. The atmosphere includes decent music and a pleasant courtyard for warmer months. The long bar makes it easy to get served, and there's even free choice music available. Regulars are friendly, creating a welcoming environment for visitors.
I love the Red Lion in Sittingbourne.. not only is it an historic building, visited by King Henry V on his way from the victory at Agincourt, but it a veteran run public house, where many of us veterans visit... Fantastic atmosphere with a friendly clientele. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who asks!

A great pub in the heart of Sittingbourne. Great prices, great atmosphere, friendly staff, what more do you want. Will definitely be returning.

A historical pub situated in the middle of Sittingbourne's High Street, but who cares about that... the beer is super cheap and that's the important thing! There are some good beers on offer. My favourite was Staropramen and there are a good choice of cheap spirits too. The music being played is usually decent enough and there is a nice courtyard to sit outside in the warmer months.

Only went in for a pint - ended up with two. The "Timothy Taylor Landlord" was just excellent and surprisingly cheap. At my age I don't go loud "background" music and we struggled to have a decent conversation. Not an issue for some people I'm sure. I would go back if in the area. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food.

Still a nice welcoming pub with great bar staff. One tip - turn the music down before you blow your speakers up or get a better sound system, it's excruciating to listen to BTW I love loud music being an ex DJ.

I’ve seen comments on here that must’ve been previously taken down and heard a lot of stories about this place so I was skeptical anyway. Security guard’s behavior shocked me. got told my top was ‘a bit too much’ what’s it to you? very strange for a place that wants customers to come and that’s an odd thing to say to a person going out should I have worn a body suit?? Was a very targeted comment and I got very put off by that to be honest and it made me uncomfortable . Music wasn’t good at all. Can’t comment on the food as I didn’t have any. No I wouldn’t recommend this place I always try to be optimistic wherever I go so I don’t know if maybe I just came and it just happened to be that sort of person was on shift if I’d spoken up I’d 100% have gotten banned so for my sanity I had to brush it off. But yeah no at this time I wouldn’t go back

For a brunch, it over paid and only 2 workers. Every table got loads of cocktails and the one we was on was like we was forgotten. The food didnt even feed 3 people let alone the 8+ of us. I wouldn't waste my money again, music wasnt great for a brunch either:

Additionally, the presence of a charming beer garden enhances the experience further during warmer seasons. Located in close proximity to both the town center and Albany Park, this pub is conveniently situated for patrons seeking relaxation and enjoyment.
We enjoyed the Roast Meal yesterday. The lady serving was attentive, pleasant and a pleasure. The Pudding was yummy too!! There was a homely atmosphere, a singer/ guitarist in the main bar that made it fun. Also the guys singing along to the music. I highly recommend a visit.

Great little pub, don't underestimate this place. It's a small local corner pub with little kerb appeal, however Sunday Roasts are fab. We rocked up on spec, received a warm welcome, including our little dog. Lovely chatty staff, roast beef was really tasty as was the roast pork. Good value and Hurlimanns on tap, what's not to like. Will be back again soon.

Watched the Euro Final here, absolutely brilliant atmosphere and delicious BBQ food was served on the day. The Pulled Pork Burger was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Few Notes: - Friendly staff. - Parking limited. - Disability Friendly. - Beer Garden was spacious for the size. - Price of items were very reasonable. The pub is just off the main high street which allows for quieter and more pleasant experience. Overall excellent pub, I would visit again!

Nestled in the charming village of Upper Upnor, Tudor Rose is a delightful pub that beautifully marries modern and traditional decor. Located on a cobbled street leading to the historic Upnor Castle and the scenic River Medway, it offers an inviting beer garden perfect for enjoying Shepherd Neame ales. The menu features classic British dishes like steak and stout ale pie or a delectable fisherman's board, making it an ideal spot for food lovers.
We first came to the Tudor Rose for their Sunday Carvery and it did not disappoint! Generous portions of meat and a delicious selection of vegetables - you will be hard to beat here for carvery and their two/three course deal! We love the selection of starters and desserts also! Yesterday we visited for lunch and their conservatory area is so lovely and bright! The food was absolutely delicious - they even accommodated us and were able to do our favourite ‘Sunday’ starter on a week day! Amazing service and amazing food! Definitely a favourite of ours.

I visited here for a staff Christmas meal. There was a lovely atmosphere, the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. The apple crumble was THE best I've ever tasted; I would score it 10/10 for both flavour and consistency. My salmon was succulent and cooked to perfection. The only reason why I haven't scored 5 stars is because they did not have any form of soya milk available, despite offering a vegan menu. In this day and age, that came as a complete surprise to me. There should be vegan alternative milks available for customers.

Roast was needed so we headed here . Fantastic staff all attentive and friendly. Prawn cocktail was my friends choice and she devoured it I went for the Pâté and though the serving could of done with two more pieces of bread . It was delicious Mains I had the roast beef and turkey My friend had the roast lamb . Cauliflower cheese as a side Beef and turkey was delicious plenty of meat on the plate . The lamb was quite fatty and awkward to eat. Overall a beautiful pub with great food, and good staff

Our go to pub now that we’ve moved closer, food is always very nice. The staff are always very accommodating even if you’ve not booked a table. The prices are reasonable. The only tiny criticism I’d say is the conservatory seating area is very echoey and loud when it’s busy but there isn’t much you can do and it certainly won’t stop us coming back. Try the banoffee pie!

During my recent exploration, I stumbled upon The Billet, a charming pub that turned out to be a delightful surprise. Initially planning for just a quick drink and lunch, I found myself enjoying multiple drinks and indulging in a two-course dinner instead. The atmosphere was lively, with friendly staff providing prompt service despite the bustling crowd. The Billet offers an inviting setting with both indoor table service and outdoor seating options—perfect for savoring your meal while soaking up the fresh air.
The well-prepared food is served in generous portions, and is enjoyable and satisfying. We've made several visits now, and the standard is 100% consistent. Friendly service, patient and helpful - even when I forgot to order for one of us, the extra meal was served fast. We'll be back, even though it's always crazy busy - because we think the menu is excellent value.

Avoid table 15 if possible and also avoid going to the restaurant on a match night! We were sat on table 15 which was right next to the rear doors which had constant foot traffic in and out throughout the whole of our time here. There were several TV’s in the bar area which is great- but there was also a TV in the restaurant area, but not being football fans made it almost impossible for us to have a conversation with our family as all you could hear was the TV’s and people cheering at their teams! A suggestion would be that the tv is moved from the restaurant area or even outside?- most of the people watching the tv were smokers / vapers- so kept going from the inside out letting the freezing cold in onto us and our food! The food was nice- but being stuck in the middle of people watching a football match made the experience uncomfortable. There is a variety of dishes and offers available- but I skipped dessert as I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Had not been to the Billet for probably at least 7 years- so I was looking forward to revisiting, but not sure we will be back anytime soon. Thanks

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Billet from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The highlight of our visit, though, was the exceptional service provided by Megan and Laura. They were both incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional genuinely going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across such warmth and efficiency combined in service, and they made my day truly memorable. The food and drinks were top-notch as well—fresh, flavorful, and well-presented. Whether you’re looking for a cozy spot to unwind or a lively place to enjoy with friends, this place checks all the boxes. I also love the value deals they have here. Huge thanks to Megan the chef and Laura—you’re a credit to the team. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Went for a drink on the way home from work ended up with a £100 fine from Euro carparks total scam never told about parking when we got our drinks Would not recommend Update After calling the pub regards the parking fine was told to come in and the landlord would sort it out. Went in and the bar maid took the notice and said landlord would take care of it, 10 mins later she said landlord said go through the appeal process with NCP. Now I'm left with the dilemma of appeal and risk paying the full £100 or pay now and pay £60. Total scam why would I park in there carpark other than to go in for a drink !!

We visited The Billet in Sittingbourne on 17th December 2021. The staff were friendly and professional but the food was of a very poor standard, it was meant to be a Christmas dinner celebration but I felt my Turkey meal was all microwaved not cooked from fresh. In fact the turkey tasted like process meat. The potatoes was soft and tasteless, the Yorkshire Pudding was soft and doughy. All very disappointing. The starters were slightly better. The dessert felt liked it was put in the microwave too. So, disappointing to be honest. I have had many Christmas Dinners but this was by far the worst I ever had. I hate giving negative reviews but I rather be honest. The presentation was good as a positive but can't recommend this pub/restaurant for eating in.

We visited The Billet for the first time in many years just before Xmas. It was quite busy and there was a good atmosphere. We managed to get a table despite it being pretty busy and them having a lot of table reservations. After looking at the large menu, we opted for the two meals for £11.49 deal. Hunters Chicken with chips and salad and a Chicken strips in Katsu sauce with rice and chips. The food did take a while to arrive, but like I said, it was busy, so it was understandable. The food was much better than I expected (considering the price), there was plenty there and it was cooked perfectly. There was a pool table around one side of the bar and a few TVs showing different sporting events. The pub was clean with the tables being cleaned regularly while we were there. The Billet also has a large beer garden to the rear of the building, which would be perfect for the summer. There were also a few benches at the front of the pub, but they are quite close to the main road, so not as inviting. I'm glad we visited The Billet as it beat my expectations and we will definitely be coming back more often.

I hope my review can be constructive for the kitchen team. I want to say first that we truly loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the waiting team was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately though, I did not enjoy the food. I chose the meal “fruits de mer” which means “seafood”. Apart from 3 mussels and 2 prawns, not really much fruit de mer in sight. There was some tasteless salmon and cod. There was (way too much) linguine in a spicy tomato sauce which for me doesn’t go well with fish at all. I was hoping for fresh pasta, considering the £29 price tag. But it tasted like Barilla. I really wanted to like this restaurant but the most important aspect of it being food was a huge miss for me. My husband enjoyed his turbot. We shared a Black Forest desert, and again, I could barely taste the chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

Always a nice place to dine and the best Sittingbourne has to offer. Only criticism was that service could have been better. When we first arrived, told to wait in the lounge but no drinks service offered, at the table no bread until we asked, always had to get up and go to the bar to ask for wine top-ups - plenty of staff but they tended to gather at the bar chatting with very little attention to the room. When staff did attend the table they were perfectly fine, but just lacked leadership. The food was, as always very good, but they need an experienced front of house manager to make the experience worth the price they are charging.

This is our first visit here, and WOW! it is a small restaurant in a beautiful setting, we were sat immediately and the service is excellent, I have been to much more expensive places and the service here was comparable to that of the the Dorchester. The set menu was varied and the wine selection was excellent. The food itself came in a timely manner, not rushed, neither did we have to wait, and it was superb, hot, delicious and good sized portions. (Try the soup it was stunning.) The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we will be going back to try the à la carte menu. Kudos.

A nice, comfortable, chilled out place near Albany Park. It's usually pretty quiet during the day, but the evenings can get more lively with different events and entertainment in the main hall. There is nice food and drink on offer which is reasonably priced and it is also nicely decorated. You can also hire out parts of the building for your own parties and celebrations. There are also a few parking spaces available around the outside of the building and disabled access.

Attended a Motown tribute night. Has its own car park. Had to wait outside before doors were opened. Thankfully it wasn't raining and very mild. It is wheelchair accessible. The venue was very clean, lots of space with a separate quiet seating area away from the dance floor and stage. Bar staff were very good. Ladies toilets were very clean but very cold. The venue is on a corner, on the same side as the school. It's quite confusing to find - the building is called The Courthouse and has a restaurant. The Appleyard is a very small door at the side, but you can't get in this way.

Went for a wedding, i was a bridesmaid. We were looking for the bride's bag and we had a bad interaction with a very rude member of staff. Rather than come to the door and speak to us, she was yelling from no where near the door and then just told us "well your not coming in". Only not giving the service a 1 star because the lady behind the bar that served us was very friendly. A child dropped a plate and they cleaned the plate up but cleaned around the dropped food and left that on the floor.

Just want to say a huge thank you to all members of staff who made my sisters wedding day absolutely beautiful yesterday. Shout out to Mike, Claire and Sarah for making the entire day come together from beginning to end. We haven't been the most easiest to accommodate for, last minute changes and last minute stress but at every turn we have had support that went above and beyond. The service room was organised beautifully, the welcome drinks were prompt and handed around, all staff had welcoming smiles, and the venue room - Wow, it looked incredible. From arriving to an empty room to drop off to then returning and seeing it cleaned and dressed to perfection was excellent. You could really see the staff had gone all out to make sure it looked as good as it did. The food was excellent, three courses all served fresh and hot per table, generous portions given for each course. It really was lovely. The buffet was lush, again, so much food to offer and the cake was cut for guests and displayed on a platter alongside the buffet. Bar staff were incredible, smiley chatty and no one was left waiting to long. All in all, I cannot fault one part of the day. It was delivered beautifully and the end result couldn't have been achieved without the wonderful staff at the Appleyard! Personal thanks to Mike from me, for making sure I was happy with how things were running throughout. I appreciate all the help and support. I didn't actually manage to get any photos, but I think Sarah did - hopefully she is able to post a few. We shall all definitely be returning to try out the carvery in the near future 🐷 Thank you all, you're all amazing 💓 To anyone thinking of booking here for any kind of function or attending just for food etc - give it a go. You will not be disappointed. 5* Service all round

Recently moved to the area and found Malcolm and all the staff very welcoming. The food and the various beers, lagers and ciders are all tasty combined with competitvely priced. Best Pub in Milton.

Stopped in to Sittingbourne to go to one of our normal eating places, they weren't serving food and recommended the 3 hats close by so we popped in and have to say we wasn't disappointed at all, nice welcoming landlady even let my wife step behind the bar to let her choose a Gin from the very good selection of drinks. Me and the wife ordered a roast each and a drink each, food took around 25 minutes to come out which I don't mind as it proves 2 things, 1 they are busy and 2 the food isn't microwaved. The food was lovely, meat cooked to perfection, roast tatties spot on, veg still had a bit of crunch to it not boiled to death and all in all was very worth the money and time, we've been back again with 2 of our friends and it was a bit busier but the 4 of us still left very happy and very full. See you again soon x

They offer nice food (if the right cook is working) and it's 'half price' we ordered a meal each and asked if we could have a doggy bag to take left overs home. We were told if we wanted to do this we would have to pay the full price for the meal, to stop people taking the mickey we were told! Very strange. We left the meal and wont be going back.

Nestled in the heart of Sittingbourne, The Stumble Inn is a delightful find that quickly dispels any initial skepticism. This welcoming pub boasts an incredibly friendly staff and a warm atmosphere filled with amiable locals. Nice sized pub with a reasonably large outdoor area, friendly staff and good selection of drinks. Supporters of live music with a good area for the performers to set up even if there's no stage as such. The number of people in attendance suggests that the music nights are still a draw for people, looking forward to my next visit.

Great pub reasonable prices. Friendly atmosphere and pleasant, polite staff. Nice outside area with covered and uncovered areas. Fairly serious darts played Tuesday and Thursday.

If you're looking for a nice place to drink, please search for a local pond or puddle as you'll face less judgement than you would in the Stumble Inn. The "stumbling" staff were rude and they looked like they'd rather watch piglets burn or paint dry instead of serving their customers. I went the whole night without reordering drinks as each time I ordered, it looked like it was going to send the staff over the edge.
Hugo B — Google review
Another great Sittingbourne pub and puts its weight behind live music. Clearly they've had problems in the past with drugs. There are now cameras everywhere, including the toilets! However, I've never felt nervous or out of place there. A nice big pub with beer garden where you can enjoy good live music.

Pub
The Paper Mill Micropub in Sittingbourne is a beer lover's paradise, offering a fantastic selection of well-kept beers, ales, stouts, and ciders. Despite its small size and lack of a traditional bar, the pub provides an authentic experience with knowledgeable staff who can recommend brews based on preferences. The venue has recently undergone changes, such as offering outdoor seating in a large gazebo.
Lovely little micropub, which from the outside looks very uninviting, however once inside it is a lovely place to visit. The barman was very helpful in giving information on the beers available and even offered a taster before you ordered. It's a great place to speak to locals and we had some very interesting conversations while we were there.
Steve B — Google review
There's something very special about a proper pub like The Paper Mill Micropub, like stepping back in time it's a lovely venue that stands tall for its beer and amazing use of such a small space.. The main room is so small it doesn't even have a bar, drinks are ordered from the bar staff who can tell you from experience what beers you could try from a basic comment that "I like ales and things like doombar.."I ended up with a lovely lager with a subtle smoked flavour. I then threw caution to the wind with an amazingly unusual Strawberry sour ale that just shows the range. Both times I have been here it's been for gigs and unbelievably in a room that cannot be any more than 20ft square we managed to park 30 people and a band... there was even room for an awesome regular who is in a wheelchair. If you are ever in Sittingbourne for a visit then make sure to try the place, you never know it might be quiz night, crib night or a room full of nutters listening to some folk punk. but whatever night it will be a good pint
Hamish L — Google review
Went here for my last night in the UK and met some very interesting folks from around Kent and had light, yet engaging conversations! Tried the brews up on the board (they keep changing) and was pleasantly surprised by most of them (tasted a bit of everything). You can bring your own fish (or white bait) and chips from next door to eat here too!
Moupi M — Google review
Very decent micro pub, offering an excellent selection of cask and craft beer, ale & stout! It was a bright sunny day so we sat in the garden, with the barman bringing out our drinks, as is the norm in micro pubs. The regulars were nice and friendly too. I'm looking forwards to my next visit!!
. B — Google review
Not my first visit here and the Paper Mill seemed to have changed quite a lot. Firstly, we were sat outside in a large gazebo. There didn't seem to be the option of sitting inside but it was a late summer day and this wasn't a problem. Maybe they were decorating or maybe the barman preferred to have everyone outside while the weather was OK. Secondly, I always remember the PM as a proper old school micropub with a healthy emphasis on cask beer. Now it's gone down the "craft beer" path with a wide range of fancy keg beers and just two real ales (and one of those was fashionably opaque and soft tasting). Still worth hunting out the PM off Sittingbourne's (dubious) beaten track.
Chris L — Google review
Great little micro pub with a great choice of beers and a knowledgeable member of staff Harvey who really knows his products and is happy to chat about them
Debbie — Google review
Where Sittingbourne lacks in its ale availability, the Paper Mill takes up the slack. From the great welcome as you walk in to the wide selection on offer, this will be the only place I frequent over the next 12 monthly visits. Locals are lovely and the beer is kept well. I only need this pub for the next year. Thank you guys.
Tony S — Google review
Well it managed to get through Covid and actually helped itself by creating and outside (under canvas), area to be comply with the regulations, which now as helped to expand the accommodation, so you can choose to drink outside or indoors (in the the original area). Prices have increased, that is inevitable, especially now with the fuel escalation and has to be excepted. Every business has to adapt to market forces, outside factors and change to survive, and this establishment has ridden the storm, and come through. 👍 (01/06/22). Update 14/07/23, Once more an exciting selection of beers, Cider and ales available

Donna's Ale House is a hidden gem for beer enthusiasts in Sittingbourne. This microbrewery offers a fantastic selection of beers and ciders, all brewed on-site with a commitment to quality. Visitors praise the welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, including homemade pizzas. The hosts, James and Donna, are known for their hospitality, making everyone feel right at home.
Best little pub in town. With a warm friendly atmosphere and a really lovely family owning it. They do not sell draught lager which keeps the choice of customers to a favourable choosing. They do a small but fantastic choice of food. I have been drinking there for 3 years and never even seen or heard raised voices never mind violence. 10/10
Bill R — Google review
Small, cozy, friendly micro-pub in Sittingbourne High Street. Donna makes amazing sharing platters while James pours the drinks. Usually three or four well kept ales, and more gins than you could shake a stick at! All the gins are served with the appropriate mixer and garnish. It's a lovely place, if you're in the area it's worth taking the time to drop in.
Colin E — Google review
What a find! Our cycling group called in at Donna’s for a quick beer before catching the train back to Whitstable, and ended up staying for three (beers) plus one of the best pizzas I’ve genuinely ever had; hot, home made, and absolutely delicious. Donna made us feel very welcome as we sat in the sun watching the world go by from the covered roadside terrace, and but for the fact that some of us had to get back I am sure we’d have managed to sink another one or two of the very quaffable session beers on offer. It probably goes without saying that Donna’s Ale House is highly recommended and all of our group agreed that we’d definitively be paying a return visit the next time we found ourselves in the area.

I've always had a great night here. All the food is prepared and made fresh and there is always plenty of it. James and Donna are fantastic hosts and spend time making you feel welcome. A pub pub. Spit and sawdust (not literally). Beer kept well and tasted nice. Pleasant bar staff, terrific juke box. 2 very small complaints, the toilets need work and the telly could be bigger. Other than that, 5* Pictures proving PJ can knock out animals.....well, insects with one punch. He only stunned him, after a quick recovery the wasp was fine.....

Absolutely vile woman who I believe to be the landlady. Not just rude, but abusive. She clearly thinks she has the right to do whatever she wants. Just seen her screaming abuse at a trade who was doing some work next door because he was sitting in his van eating his meal. Small amusement area, expensive machines and limited options. All card or token payment, so no cash for machines. Good for the children, expensive for the parents!
Glen — Google review
The Cinema is great and ideal for the town. Being new it's kept at a very clean standard and also has very comfortable seats. I feel the prices are quite on the high side for the type of area we are in. Definitely worth a go. Downstairs is a little arcade again over priced really for what there is, it uses a QR code to add the game credit where you purchase from a machine. The QR codes are very temperamental and would just be easier with NFC readers where you could still purchase credit but on a card (like most modern arcades). Not been bowling maybe one day will give it a go.
MrNick G — Google review
Loved it! Very comfy seats and we only had the basic ones. Far too loud but find this at every cinema these days. They must think we're all deaf... and we probably will be when we leave, after having our eardrums assaulted for 2 or 3 hours.

A much needed improvement to Sittingbourne. Only went to the cinema this time and was very impressed with the quality of the auditorium and wonderful leather recliner seats. The service was really efficient and the ladies serving us were all really friendly. I can honestly highly recommend this great find and I really look forward to visiting again.

I’ve lived nearby for over 4 years and this was my first visit. All I can say is thank god I hadn’t found it before as I’d be the size of a bus and an alcoholic!!! AMAZING! The staff the atmosphere the food I just can’t wait to come back…..but not set the fire alarm off next time! This pub rocks 🤩

We booked this venue for my Mother in laws wake yesterday. Everything was handled professionally from the initial booking to the great buffet they provided.Food was lovely, we had an open side room which led out to the large garden. We were really glad we chose The Fox & Goose and are going to return soon to dine from their tasty looking menu.

The standard of pub food in Bearsted in exemplary. Unfortunately, the Fox & Goose has to live in the shadow of its more established siblings. It is by all accounts and nice pub, but lacks the character of the likes of Oak on the Green. Service is enthusiastic, humble, accommodating and caring. It does need more attention and lacks the professionalism and Precision of its siblings. It took a while for the food to arrive, but it was quality homemade food. The king prawn and crayfish vermicelli dish was my pick of the dishes. An Asian inspired dish packing bags of flavour from the sesame seed oils and spices. Delicious. The homemade pie was crumbly, and those boiled potatoes were melt in the mouth soft and flavoursome. Quality food, service needs tweaking, warm comfortable surroundings.

Brill Restaurant. I liked the burgers, delicious and nutritious 😉😉. Staff is really friendly. Quiet atmosphere, but great place. Big quantities, BE HUNGRY, when you come.
