Every time I head up into the high desert, stopping at the Joshua Tree Saloon is non-negotiable. From the moment you walk in the door you get that relaxed desert-town vibe mixed with reliably good food and drinks. I love that I can pull up outside the park at 61835 29 Palms Hwy and know I’m going to get something solid. The burger list alone is worth the stop — their half-pound patties with names like the Ghost Pepper Burger (bacon, ghost pepper cheese, chili verde sauce) and the Saloon Original Patty Melt (Swiss cheese, grilled onions, Russian dressing on sourdough) are the kind of indulgences you’ve earned after hiking or driving all day. On the lighter side the grilled portobello burger and black bean quesadilla show they haven’t forgotten the non-meat folk. They’ve got 14 beers on draft and are “home of our famous homemade Bloody Mary mix” which sets the tone right for any desert afternoon or evening. The cocktail list doesn’t disappoint either: things like the Mexican Mule, JT Dark & Stormy, Cactus Cadillac — fun, strong, and desert-appropriate. The staff always greet you with a smile, the folks playing pool or relaxing outside on the patio make it feel like a local spot not just a tourist stop, and the mix of indoor bar and outdoor seating means you’ve got options whether you’re coming in for a late drink or dinner after a long hike. Heads up though: when the place gets crowded the food wait can stretch out — I’ve had to kill time with a draft and some people watching while waiting for the burgers to land. But for me, that’s part of the charm: you’re in the desert, you’ve earned the pause. Five stars all the way.

Had a really great experience at the joshua tree saloon. The exterior and interior design of the saloon were fantastic and made you feel like you were in a real saloon. The food was well above average. The fries were cooked to perfection and the burger was juicy and really well made. The meat was cooked medium-medium rare. The prices were also very acceptable with the exception of the sodas which were slightly more expensive. The only negative thing that I can say is that we had to wait quite a time for our food. Not extraordinarily long but for american standards still longer than other chains. But if you are there you probably have a lot of time and it is a nice break. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Went with my family for dinner and we all had a great experience. Hostess was great and got us seated immediately and our waitress was straight over to offer drinks as soon as we were seated. Food was very tasty all around. Biggest surprise was the price which I thought was very reasonable.

Nice place to hang out great selection of food and amazingly good service. It was pretty crowded on a Friday afternoon. The seating area inside and out dogs are allowed outside. I had the steak salad, which was really good, especially with the assortment of greens. And yes, they have non-alcoholic beer Heineken.

So close to Camp Sunburst a super amazing Dog Friendly AirBnB, the National Park entrance, and the downtown JT area. I had the bison burger with skinny fries. It was absolutely the most amazing burger I’ve had in a long time. My friend had the steak salad. It was huge definitely something we could’ve shared, but I didn’t want the help your option. The service is great. The weight is sometimes a little longer than usualbut the quality of food makes it all worth it.

We came here on a recommendation from another person. What a surprise! We walked into delicious smells the hostess was great. Our waitress was fast and friendly. The server brought our food quick,we watched him bus 3 big tables in minutes. Talk about a great place to hang out....THIS IS IT!

Had lunch here and everything was super tasty! I got the tuna melt with Caesar salad – fresh and flavorful. Also tried the chicken quesadilla and it was cheesy and satisfying. The vibe was nice and service was friendly. Wish I could come back more often, but it’s a bit too far for me. Still, totally worth the stop if you’re in the area!

The service was good, the food was.. okay. The environment, cool. I’m quite a breakfast snob since I used to work brunch shift as a server all summer.. so I know a good crispy potato, with an impeccable poached egg with hollandaise. I was just underwhelmed. The potatoes left much to be desired.. but the bacon was great. I got the Egg Barrio I think?

Ordered quesadillas and country breakfast with biscuits and gravy. Quesadillas was fresh and yummy. Potatoes were delicious. I was skeptical but side order of Banana bread was surprisingly good. Definitely worth ordering. House made lemonade was nice too

The Cali Cheesesteak is really good with full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The pancakes are excellent as well, definitely worth trying. Great spot for a tasty and satisfying meal!

Stopped here before heading out to the desert. Food was fantastic and the waitresses were great. The fruit cup was super fresh and they cooked our eggs perfectly. Definitely would stop here again if in the area.

Great little place. We had the vegan saitan "burger". It was pretty big, the slaw and fries were homemade. I highly recommend the homemade lemonade as well.

Got the hell burger didn't read the fine print . Got some weird shredded mystery meat , definitely did not hit the spot. The fries were fresh but didn't get the chilli and cheese I ordered with it. Cool place to hangout .

This is HANDS DOWN, one of the BEST breakfast diners I’ve ever experienced - the food was AMAZING. The French toast with cinnamon swirl is to DIE for with black coffee, and their steak and eggs are cooked to perfection alongside their freshly squeezed orange juice. Their service is very warm, welcoming and consistent. Kudos to the entire staff and our compliments to the chef(s)! We will ALWAYS make sure to stop by when in the area. Restrooms are clean, food is delicious and the ambiance is great - they even have outdoor seating too.

Enjoyed a delicious brunch here on a Saturday morning. They have a shaded waiting area with water and you can order drinks while you wait for a table. So pleased to have a couple of vegan options, which can be quite rare in a diner. The Vegan special with soyrizo was delicious, and so were the mimosas with fresh OJ. The staff were friendly and offered great suggestions for our meal. My partner got the pancakes and said they were fluffy and delicious. A great spot!

I don't think I have seen do much food before. The service was awesome. The food was delicious. The pancakes were literally the size of a dinner plate. It was worth the drive and the price. Its a very small place, but worth the wait.

The food at this diner was solid—classic comfort dishes done right. I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the chicken/potatoes, both were flavorful and satisfying. However, the wait time for the food was extra long, which was a bit frustrating. Great spot if you’re not in a rush!!

Nice little place on 29 Palms Hwy for breakfast. Patio is covered and shaded. Very friendly and comfortable. Country fried steak and eggs were excellent with the hashbrowns being crispy the way I like them. The sausage gravy may be the tastiest I’ve had. The orange juice is fresh squeezed!

Their specials are out of this world- delicious!! It’s a must to stop here if you’re from out of town or a local. The staff were very nice and our server Camille was very attentive. We will definitely be coming back.

It’s definitely a long wait with limited communication. It appeared they were understaffed but the lack of communication made it frustrating. We had to ask possible manager/hostess for refills on our drinks. Our waitress brought our drinks and took our order. We did not speak to her again until she informed us the kitchen was backed up and our food s next. We were party of four. They brought my wife’s food out and the three of us waited nearly 5 minutes until the rest of our food came out. The food was good and the outdoor/indoor ambiance was nice. The waitress could have easily communicated that they were backed up and we would not have to wonder, guess or assume. If in town stop by but understand you will wait to get in and if they’re kitchen is short staff you will wait for your food. Look at the BLT sandwich, I’ve seen more bacon on a BLT. Photos below

I have to be honest. The service was great. The place is a little run-down but it feels cozy. I'm a huge Indian food lover and eat this stuff a lot. Unfortunately, this restaurant was in my humble opinion not the greatest trading food. The chicken was tough, to the point where I almost did not eat it. I have driven by this restaurant a lot in the last 6 months and was glad to finally dry it but the food tasted good but bland or completely off flavor. I will huge or another try here in the next few days hope it was just a bad night.

I had lunch here it was excellent! The service was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The food was authentic, full of flavor, and truly satisfying. Definitely a great spot to stop by after a day in the park!

We have been curious about this Indian restaurant in Joshua Tree, California, for a long time, and this evening, we decided to give it a try since we were in the area. When we arrived, the restaurant was full, which is usually a good sign. We did have to wait for a table to open up, but it didn't take too long. The restaurant itself was not big, but there were numerous tables. It was nicely decorated, but I will admit that it was a little dark. It was a bit cold in Joshua Tree, and the restaurant itself was cold. We had a pleasant experience, but there were a few issues. The food was delicious and definitely flavorful. The dishes had a different flavor from other Indian restaurants that we had dined at. You can smell the aroma outside of the restaurant. The butter chicken that I had tonight had a different flavor profile than I had before. This was probably one of the best that I've had, but the chicken itself was a bit dry. The Chana Masala was also a bit different it which it had a smoky flavor. The vegetable samosas were delicious and cooked nicely. The garlic Naan was one of the best that I've had. The service was fine. Unfortunately, we had a couple of issues. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. The first issue was that we had to remind the staff members about our Chai Tea. We didn't get that immediately, but we did get halfway through our meal. The second issue was not getting the second appetizer we ordered. That was the Samosa Chat. Now, the third and final, initially, we wanted to order some Mango Lassi, but we were informed that they ran out. Now I did find it funny that a customer walked up to the front and asked about a Mango Lassi. A few minutes later, one came out for him. That wasn't a big deal. Yes, I do watch everything that goes on in a restaurant we dine at. Overall, it was a nice dinner, and the food was delicious. The service needs to be worked on, but hey, at least they were friendly and helpful.

We had samosa chaat without yogurt, coconut korma curry (vegan) comes with rice, and veggie pizza without cheese (I asked for pineapple and cilantro instead of extra cheese). They do have coconut milk and modify dishes which is a plus. The samosa chaat was a big portion, the curry was not that big. Mini pizza for $9.50 was a good sized but the veggie pizza I ordered had taste of ghee… make sure to ask no ghee Service was slow despite not many people inside, only one girl taking orders from diners, serving food, taking orders to go, packing pickup/delivery orders, felt like they were short staffed. Very clean and maintained place with dimmed lighting, minimalistic yet modern design, and overall good food. They do have beers, desserts, and other drinks.

Super flavorful! Happy to find they don’t skimp out on the spices like some places in LA do. They messed up on my order at first but they were crazy quick to fix it. Glad to know there’s a good Indian restaurant in the high desert.

Nice little grab and go spot. I think calling it a 'deli' would be a bit far. Yes, there are sandwiches and hot burritos, but they're pre-made. It's more of an airport take-out style situation, but that said, the selection is great and designed to fuel hikers. So, you'll find nuts and cheese other hiking foods. And good for vegetarians. Good selection of ice cream, too!

It got my attention when I was coming back from Joshua Tree Park so I decided to stop and see what’s inside. It’s a cute cafe with prepped meals, cold brew, snacks, drinks, ice cream, fruit. I ended up trying nitro coffee with oat milk, and I bought the savory Bear Bar. When I see organic and vegan, I can’t help it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Super convenient location. Bought my parks pass at the visitor center then headed directly next door to Roadrunner to pick up lunch to pack in to the park. Very impressed by vegetarian options (multiple sandwiches available). Happy that everything was super quick to grab and go - already wrapped up, no waiting, easy to read signage and prices. Sandwich tasted great and the bread held up even to the moisture of the dressing on the sandwich, and sitting in the car for hours.

Super convenient grab and go place that sells all sorts of locally sourced items. Parking is the same lot as the Joshua Tree visitor’s center. Restrooms are outside. They carry snacks, coffee, tshirts, drinks, Gatorade, and kombucha. On the pricier side of things, but if you have the cash, worth the try.

Don't expect much from a grab and go store. Food are all fresh. Is it the best sandwich? No. Does it fill you up? Yes. You can also grab other snacks. The food is a little pricey. The meat to bread is good.

They are so sweet in there and make yummy home cooked meals with seasonal menu offerings. Gluten free and vegan options available! A great place to come before heading to JT National Park or a road trip anywhere!

We found this place by accident after looking in the Joshua Tree NP Visitor Center. We wanted sandwiches to take into the park and we were not disappointed. Not being mayo fans they made us 2 beef sandwiches without mayo. They were absolutely delicious. You will not find a better sandwich to go anywhere. The service was friendly and atmosphere lovely. Thank you for the sandwiches…we enjoyed them very much!

Pappy & Harriet’s is a famous restaurant/bar/music venue in Pioneertown just up the road from Joshua Tree. It’s aesthetic is western saloon meets the high desert, and the decor and atmosphere are down-to-earth and make you feel like you’re in a Texas BBQ spot or an old school bar from the Old West. While this spot does have very cool concerts from time to time—including secret shows by Paul McCartney, Modest Mouse, Stars, and more—the food, for me, leaves something to be desired. It’s really just so-so in terms of BBQ, sandwiches, burgers. The salads for me are the standout items. It’s not that the quality isn’t decent, it’s just not elevated or prepared well-enough to justify the fairly steep price tag. It also sometimes gets so busy here they have 2-4 hour wait times, though often you can get in with no wait at all. All-in-all, it’s a cool spot to visit at least once, but it’s not really anything to shout about in the long run.

I love Pappy & Harriet’s! I bring all my friends here when they come visit the desert. Great barbecue options from ribs to tri-tip to bison burgers! Cool vibe & great venue for an outdoor show. I’ve seen several concerts here over the years, and it’s always a special experience.

This place is such a vibe! Didn't expect this in the middle of desert nowhere; definitely a metaphorical oasis! Came here initially to see LA Lom and had such a great time. We got there early so we got a front row seat, and had some very delicious ribs while waiting. It has a campground nearby, so make a overnight trip out of your drive. Will def come back to see more shows under the stars 🌟

Welcomed with a smile and seated quickly even though there was an event going on. We came for a concert but heard great things about the food. Got ribs and famous chili after recommendations from both the hostess and our server. We were not disappointed. Fun place in the middle of nowhere but definitely worth being.

Baby Back Ribs: 3/5 I tasted the possibilities. Very balanced flavors, not too smoky and not too salty. Everything was in place for it being the perfect rib. The sauce was also very good, it kinda reminded me of steak sauce with a little more spice. But maybe because we weren’t seated in the main dining room, the ribs fell flat. A little tough, a little cold, I felt like these could have gotten a little more love at the end of the day. Coleslaw: 2/5 It was just cabbage and some really light dressing. It tasted kind of like the salad packs at Costco. Mac and Cheese: 2.5/5 Again, not for me. I felt like it was too saucy and cheesy, making it overly heavy and gloopy. Ambiance: The ambience bumped this place up a rank. I really liked the vibes here. It is casual, it does have a neighborhood bar sort of energy, but the whole place is immaculately themed and I can see you kind of dressing up for the festivities. Service: Everyone here was really nice despite it being super busy. Another weird thing I noticed was that all the customers were really nice too. Parking: A big dirt lot. If it’s busy they usually will have someone guiding parking. Not too difficult but can get busy and dark.

We went on a Sat evening so it was busy, and loud. Could hardly hear each other. Ordered the family platter to try a bit of everything. The chicken was dry and not much flavor. One server for the entire section. It took an hr from sitting down to the food arriving on the table. So expect a wait on a busy day. There was live music, but it was too loud to hear anything.

Kitchen in the Desert is a very nice spot for dinner. The food is really good, and the drinks are equally enjoyable. The overall environment is very pleasant, and we really liked the vibe of the place. Although some of the outdoor heaters weren’t working, the staff managed the situation well, ensuring we were comfortable. I would recommend making reservations before going, as it can get busy. Another plus is that there’s plenty of free roadside parking available. A great spot for a relaxed evening with good food and drinks!

We spent one night in Twentynine Palms and we're looking for a place to eat around 7pm that had vegetarian options. It was a Monday night and a few restaurants in town were closed. We found Kitchen in the Desert listed with high reviews but weren't expecting too much. We were pleasantly surprised to approach the restaurant and see a glowing outside seating area. Because the place is about a block from the main highway there wasn't traffic noise. We were offered a blanket on our way to be seated in case we got chili in the late October air, and there was also a tall propane heater next to each of the outdoor tables that could be lit if needed. Each table has a small LED lamps with just the right amount of light, and there was a soft warm glow above us from string lights that criss-crossed the seating area. This would be a great place to go on a romantic date as it was quiet with interesting acoustic music playing in the background. I think maybe they weren't expecting so many people on a Monday night because there was only one server that we saw and it took a while for him to come and get our drink order, but we were pleased with the interesting selection of drinks that were available and when they finally arrived it was worth the wait (old fashioned and a whiskey sour). We were thirsty and one of the options was filtered tap water which was served from a wine bottle that they left at the table for refills. Unfortunately they were out of two of the three things we decided to order (the brussel sprout appetizer and the jerk chicken entree). Because one of us is vegetarian and the other only eats birds and fish, that left basically two options for us but we weren't disappointed. I ended up getting the fish plates which came on a bed of nicely seasoned coconut jasmine rice (with only a subtle coconut flavor). It was $43 and definitely worth it! The flavor was phenomenal and everything was perfectly cooked. My husband had the shiitake mushroom toast as a main course and it was a generous portion and also delicious. The chef at this place really knows what they're doing. This would be a great place for any foodie to seek out who wants an exquisite meal and unique, interesting ambience, or just someone who once a nice meal that is worth what you pay for it.

I was so excited to come here, and the atmosphere did not disappoint. A blend of rustic with some modern touches, under the desert sky. I had a reservation for 8:30. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Once we checked in, we were told to wait in the waiting area until our table was ready. We waited another 20 minutes. Once to our table, it took another 20 minutes to get a server, and another 5 minutes until we got water (mind you it was 95 degrees). I have to say, the food was phenomenal. I have no complaints and only praise for the chef. The branzino, coconut rice, mushroom tartine and Brussels sprouts were divine. There is a Photo Booth by the bathrooms which was really cute, $5 though. Overall, great food & atmosphere, but sub par service.

I never write reviews but the experience was so great, I feel the need to say something— everyone’s incredibly hot & nice here. Food was really tasty & the energy was great. We had Chickpea curry, jerk chicken and Brussels sprouts. Curry and chicken didn’t come hot but tasted good! Coconut rice was flavorful. Brussels sprouts were a perfect char. Service was great and there were a few shops to browse while waiting on food.

We stopped here for brunch and had a wonderful time! The food was amazing and our sever was incredible. Their drink menu is awesome and I personally appreciated the unique assortment of spirit free drinks. This place has a great atmosphere even if you want to come chill and have drinks. We live locally so I’m stoked to go back to try out their dinner menu! UPDATE - we’ve gone back and this place truly is a 100/10! We are getting eloped in Joshua Tree this summer and are planning on bringing our parents here as our wedding reception brunch! So amazing!!!

Loved this dining experience! The smash burger was amazing, as was the passion fruit spritz! Our waitress, Kayla, was the absolute sweetest and made our experience so wonderful! Highly recommend the matcha martini! We will be returning and asking for Kayla again!

6 out of 5 stars. Absolutely recommend. Go there now. Their pesto is 🤌🏻 amazing. Our first visit there we ordered the pesto gnocchi and the margarita pizza. Today we order their caprese salad and the chicken pesto pizza. Not sure how we’re going to top that but we will definitely be trying more. Fresh toppings and a great staff. This is really a worthy stop especially because a lot of other places in Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms are mid (most places seem to know there’s not a lot of competition and just don’t work that hard to impress) Sky High Pie could hold competition in a larger city and would truly hold their own. Hands down our new post hike lunch spot. Like I said, go there now.

We had regular pizza, a gluten-free pizza, Greek salad, and tiramisu. My husband raved about the crust on the regular pizza. I enjoyed the gluten-free crust, but wish the flavors were a little more pronounced. The Greek salad was amazing and my family raved about the tiramisu. Great vibe. Friendly staff.

Sky High Pie in Joshua Tree is a must-visit for pizza lovers, offering creative pies. Located just minutes from the national park, with cozy indoor and outdoor seating. The crust is perfectly crisp, toppings are high-quality, and they offer gluten-free and vegan options with strong attention to dietary safety. Service is friendly and attentive, my toddler was getting fussy the staff went out of her way to bring crackers and ice for her. Soft serve 🍦 both chocolate and vanilla is a must, rich and creamy. Takeout is also available if you’d prefer to enjoy your meal with a view.

Sky High Pie is hands-down one of the best gems in town! The pizzas are incredible—flavorful, perfectly baked, and always fresh. I’m also obsessed with their meatballs and beef skewers, which are packed with flavor. And don’t even get me started on dessert… the triple berry scones are heavenly, and the soft serve is honestly my favorite treat. Everything here is handmade, and you can taste the love and care in every bite. What makes this place extra special is the service. Chris is amazing—attentive, sweet, and always friendly. He listens, brings the food right to me with napkins and utensils ready, and makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. It’s rare to find customer service like that, and it really makes Sky High Pie stand out. I’m a local, and honestly, I don’t frequent many restaurants around here—but this spot is the exception. I come back at least once a week, and it never disappoints. If you’re in town, do yourself a favor and stop by. Sky High Pie is a Joshua Tree treasure!

Sky High Pie was definitely one of many highlights during our Joshua Tree trip. They offer some unique toppings. We just had to try the one with lobster, which was a party to the palette with flavor. They use fresh ingredients, have a rustic charming little atmosphere, with friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend! 👌

Absolutely, the best Pizza I have ever had. It's gourmet delicious. The service is fast friendly. The environment is cute, peaceful in an absolute delight.I've never had better pizza and oh my god, you have to try the cannolis

During our one-night camping trip at Jumbo Rocks in Joshua Tree National Park, we decided to skip packing all our cooking supplies. A quick Yelp search for sandwich spots with good reviews led us straight to Dez Fine Food, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation! They have two convenient locations, just a few doors apart. One specializes in warm sandwiches, which is perfect if that's what you're in the mood for, and it's also where you'll find the restroom. We tried the Desert Dirt Smoothie, a Tuna Melt, and for my boyfriend, the Pastrami and Swiss. Every item was delicious and truly hit the spot. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning!

Glad to have found this place while in Joshua Tree as I didn’t want the typical burger/homestyle offerings. The counter staff was helpful in making my selection and brought it to my table on an ironware plate with metal flatware. I highly recommend the Lentil/Hummus pita! The ingredients were fresh and plentiful with great flavor. The staff were pleasant and suggested other areas to visit during my stay in CA. The coffee was strong but not bitter and the cookie was just the right size with lots of chocolate chips.

Rating based on date shake. Overall seems like a fine little market, but the date shake was badly made and overpriced especially for the execution. Dates were not mixed well with the ice cream and it was overall too thin of a consistency. It was difficult to drink with a straw because the chunks of dates were so large they clogged up the straw. We’ve had much better! We were disappointed as date shakes are more difficult to find where we are from and we were looking forward to a nice treat.

Do not order vegan food here. They do not actually check. They are rude, slow, and defensive over mistakes they make. They don’t understand the gravity of serving a person real meat when they don’t eat it and were super dismissive. “Mistakes happen,” but maybe that one shouldn’t as it isn’t that hard to read a label. Reading is part of working at a restaurant. Here’s a great business tip: do not serve vegan food. We don’t like places like yours and don’t care to have you include us especially if you’re going to make careless mistakes like that one. It was especially hilarious that you mentioned this doesn’t happen often, well it did to us and now we are going to tell every vegan we know in town that used to recommend this place to not. Again, just make your menu full of dead animals and don’t include us at all. Thanks!

Absolutely one of the nicest experiences I had at Joshua Tree. The lady said she really appreciated how politely I asked. I told her my name was Jeff, and she put me down as 'King Jeff'. And although I can't prove it, I feel like these sandwiches we bought were made with extra love. So yeah. I recommend this place. ✌️

AMAZING! Love the food here and the people are great as well. Stopped in for lunch and I must say it’s very tasty! The Turkey bacon wrap is the best I’ve ever had! The albacore tuna on sourdough is so bomb! This place is a must stop and enjoy!!!

Great little environment, welcoming.. service is great … and you can tell there is a lot of love put into to the food and preparation. Yucca Fries (get all the toppings on the side) Delish ! And sweet potato fries were seasoned and cooked really well.. Chick pea salad, Tiny pony salad with egg and the pulled pork sandwich Oh wow .. so surprisingly yummy .. We had such a fantastic time at The Tiny Pony! 🎉 It’s a super cool, eclectic little spot with a funky, laid-back vibe that immediately makes you feel at home. We started with the Brunchie Wildboar tots (the special of the day) and wow — absolutely amazing! I had the veggie burger, hubby went for the fried chicken sandwich with fries, and everything was cooked to perfection. Flavorful, fresh, and just the right portions. The kind of food that’s so good and drippy there’s a reason there’s a full paper towel roll on the table! Haha! Also great Bloody Mary’s!! The service was wonderful — friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Between the food, the vibe, and the people, it’s definitely the kind of place you want to linger. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and want something a little different but absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

We stopped by the Tiny Pony Tavern after a morning in Joshua Tree National Park. The vibes were off the charts. The food was tasty, but pretty expensive for small portions. We were not disappointed, but did feel like we left spending a significant amount for not that much food. Would recommend going, though!!

We’d heard a bunch of great things about this place, so we had to check it out during our Joshua Tree trip. We grabbed lunch here and had Britney M as our host—she was super friendly and attentive. We went with the steak + fries , warm beet and farro bowl with avocado (way better than it sounds), and for drinks, we had a mango michelada and a cherry lime Rickey. Everything was on spot. The vibe here is really cool/ laid-back with plenty of space, a pool table, and even a photo booth. We missed out on one of their karaoke nights, but now we’ve got a reason to come back. Definitely worth a visit!

Fun, eclectic atmosphere! Came here for lunch on a Saturday and it was seat yourself. Limited brunch/lunch menu. Waited a bit for the one waitress working the room but it gave us enough time to decide what we wanted. Food came fast and was delicious! We had the yucca fries, a burger, chicken sandwich, avocado tacos and pretzel bites. Everyone was happy!

We had the time of our lives here on Halloween! The staff here are all stellar. They were getting rocked and still helped everyone quickly and efficiently while remaining fun & friendly! What more can you ask for!!? They have great, inexpensive late night bar food, ice cold high life and an impressive cocktail program! The burgers really hit the spot! The DJ was cranking Goth-Darkwave-Disco and the dance floor was electric. The vibes were immaculate. 10/10 Thanks for all the fun, Tiny Pony!!

The Tiny Pony is a fantastic mix of disco, cowboy chic, and dive bar charm. My wife and I had a great time dining at this local spot—it absolutely lived up to the hype. The drinks are strong, the decor is lively and unique, and the staff is warm and welcoming. Whether you’re in the mood for a stiff drink, tasty bites, or a fun atmosphere with plenty of photo ops, this place has it all. Highly recommend!

We’d heard awesome things about their pizza, so we had to check it out—and it did *not* disappoint. We tried the Fresh Mess and it was insanely good—super fresh and full of flavor. The cocktails and beer were great too. The vibe inside is really cool, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They’ve got both indoor and outdoor seating, so it’s perfect no matter the weather. Definitely a must-visit spot!

Artisan pizza in a cool venue with some good service and some good drinks. Got a pizza and a salad, both were quite good. The pizzas are fun and different at times. They have a nice beer selection and a greaaat name.

After driving by here countless times, we decided to stop in for lunch on our way home from Palm Springs to Big Bear Lake. Oh. My. Goodness. The food was incredible (meatball sandwich, two pepperoni pizzas (one with sausage), and a Mushy Tina). Fabulous & friendly service. Great choice of beverages. Couldn't have been more pleased with the whole experience. We'll be back. Definitely worth the hour drive from home.

I love this place. Pretty much the best pizza in all of Coachella Valley is found here in the middle of nowhere in the high desert. They do what most of the more popular CV pizza places don’t and that is THEY GET THE CRUST RIGHT. And the salads too! Besides the pizza it’s just a fun place with a cool vibe, live music, good drinks, and other menu options.

Don't pass on going here! Great food choices although somewhat limited but very well done. Service was stretched a little but was still very attentive.

No frills restaurant with a bar and eclectic decoration (and staff!). Try the pastrami sandwich and their hard kombucha. You won’t be disappointed. Staff is super nice and the conversations you’ll overhear from the drunk patrons are hilarious to say the least. Will return 10/10

Incredible little spot just outside of Joshua Tree! my husband, pup & I visit Joshua tree a lot for an easy low key vacay and I am so happy to add this place to our roster. Popped in for an early Friday lunch & sat on the patio with our doggy. Food and drinks were great, and our server Stevie Ray was an absolute sweetheart. We had an arugula salad w homemade tahini honey lemon dressing, brisket sammich thingy on a freshly made baguette, some beers and a $10 shot of Arette blanco tequila cus why not lol. Super chill spot, fresh bomb food, Cant wait to go back :)

Fantastic food! If you’re in Joshua Tree / Yucca Valley, La Copine is worth a visit. We arrived for brunch / lunch on a weekday afternoon. There’s plenty of parking provided. There was a short wait to be seated, but they have a semi-shaded sitting area and there’s also a tiny little shop to explore while waiting. Service was awesome from the seating host to our server. The decor is modern and clean. It’s a casual dining affair. My friends and I ordered whipped ricotta with figs, crispy papas, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, shrimp roll, and chocolate beignets for dessert with coffee. One of my friends wanted to order something she saw in a past review on Google Maps and they said that item was no longer offered. They change up the menu periodically, likely according to the season. Regardless, the entree flavors are fantastic. I think we could have ordered any entree and we would have been pleased. We especially enjoyed the whipped ricotta with figs—the honey drizzle had fresh ground black pepper and thyme, giving it an unexpected light zattar like flavor—really delightful! The chocolate beignets we had were likely vegan—we could tell, just FYI. La Copine is approximately 10 minutes away from the Integratron and 20 minutes from the Giant Rock. It’s the perfect stop before your visit to either site.

This place was so good. Loved the atmosphere and food. Great for a “treat yourself” meal! On the mid-high side price wise, but my partner and I were on vacation and this was definitely the highlight meal :) would come back for sure!

Expect a long wait. My fiancée and I waited for over an hour in the hot desert sun. Despite that, the food made it all worth it. We had the Copine Salad, the fried chicken, and the Lavish Lavash, all of which were incredible. In retrospect I would have made a reservation but the food is to die for and the ambience is super cute as well.

Absolutely loved La Copine! Unexpectedly amazing food in a quiet desert location. Everything was fresh, creative, and full of flavor. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly, and the whole experience was a great surprise. Totally worth the drive and the wait.

We have been wanting to try La Copine for some time now.. all I can say is don’t wait! Do it now!! We will be back! All the food is so delicious. Beyond our expectations! And of course Claire and Nikki are fabulous!

DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. Oh wow. Just wow. I’m writing this review whilst still sitting in the courtyard. The menu is full of so many interesting items, it makes it almost impossible to choose. Shared the tomatoes, figs and whey, and the brisket sandwich. I almost cried eating the tomato dish, and Ive just ordered another one to go for my dinner. My husband took one bite of the sandwich and said “I felt like my soul needed this”

La Copine absolutely lives up to the hype. Every dish we tried was delicious, but the standout for us was the ceviche — so fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced. The space has a cool, desert-chic vibe and the service was warm and attentive. Cocktails were tasty but definitely on the petite side, more of a sip-and-savor situation than a full pour. Still, a must-visit when you’re in the area!

I was craving for some asian foods with aroma and this place took care of it for now. It's surprisingly nice to have a restaurant in the high desert that serves foods with great flavor. The Shrimp Tom Yum was really good (with only 4 shrimps in it) and you need to order rice separately. The server, Krittika, was friendly and my order came out in good time (there was one other occupied table when I arrived). Based on Krittika's suggestion, I will seek out Thai Cafe (YV) to try their phở.

We were craving for some Thai food and landed up here. We ordered Cheese wonton, kung Pao veggies with rice and crab fried rice. The portion size was good and food was okay and so was the service!

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it should have been a little better than what I paid for... husband and I ordered some dumplings that honestly tasted like they were pulled from the freezer with freezer burn, the shrimp tempura and egg rolls were ..ehh okay... the chicken pad thai noodles seemed overcooked, with watered down spices, the red curry beef tasted like a brown coconut soup.. over all nothing was fresh or tasted fresh, the dishes tasted like they were prepared days before and then preheated, and if I hadn't checked the receipt, we would have been charge for something we didn't order.. maybe we didn't order the "right stuff" or something... but it's safe to say we won't be returning. 😥

I’ve tried larb at several different thai places over the years, and the larb at Royal Siam is stellar! I asked for it to be spicy, and with extra dressing (because I like it saucy), and it didn’t disappoint! It was one of the best larbs my husband and I have had, by far. What an delicious meal out here in Joshua Tree. 10 out of 10!

We were asked to go and pour our own water from the pitcher into Styrofoam cups. My sister has MS so I did it, but why? Everything is served with plastic utensils and disposable containers for dining in. I was asked if I wanted rice with my curry, yes. They charge extra for rice. The curry was oil based with a small amount floating at the bottom of a small disposable tray. My sister's pork veggie stir fry had no spice or flavor. This was the worst Thai food experience I've ever experienced.

I’m posting this on 7/28 and this restaurant is closed due to some kind of sidewalk construction- so if they aren’t answering their phone don’t make the drive out. I’ve been trying to eat here again every time I come to town over the past 8 years but either I get here after they close, or they aren’t open. I ate here in 2017 and it was the best Thai food I’ve ever had and I hope to eat it again someday! Help!

Red Dog Saloon is hands down one of the best spots around. The location is unbeatable — it feels like stepping into an old Wild West town, with a vibe that’s as authentic as it gets. It’s the perfect place to grab a cold beer, relax, and soak it all in. The kids can run around outside while you kick back, and the sunset views? Absolutely photo-worthy. Food and drinks were fresh, service was solid, and the whole place has a laid-back charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. We’ll definitely be back.

Stopped by here before the concert last night. Julio was cool, super friendly and Ursula made me the best cherry coke. They even had the good dark cherries! Friendly atmosphere and very cool and clean inside. If you’re going to Palm Springs, I definitely recommend taking a side trip here!

Churros: 3/5 I was really hoping that these would be good but they were really whatever. Kind of dense with a cardamom kick, I didn’t really care for them. The chocolate sauce is not sweet, rather “sophisticated” but meh. Chips + Queso: 3/5 Thick chips, thick queso that tasted like Chipotle’s, it was whatever to me. It sat in my stomach like a rock. Dazzling Dallas Manhattan: 5/5 Super strong, dessert vibes without the sweetness. I loved this drink. Really pushed the rating up to a 4 star! If you like your alcohol, highly recommend. Oaxacan Old Fashioned: 3.5/5 It was okay. I always forget that I don’t really like mezcal and that’s the main flavor. Strong smoke. It is balanced, so I would recommend it to someone who really enjoys that flavor. Ambiance: Western and fun! While I don’t recommend kids, I did see some enjoying tacos and chilling with their families Service: It’s a bar. Flagging someone down might be hard but everyone was generally pleasant. Parking: There’s a lot of parking on dirt roads but if there is an event expect to drive around a couple of times. Some big trucks may make things tricky.

The food was ok, taste wise, nothing I went ‘omg this is soo good’ … I was shocked at the prices for the quantity. No a good shocked haha the Guacamole was pretty clean… Ordered the Brisket taco, the breakfast burrito,spicy pickles, Queso and chips, Guacamole and chips, and they wouldn’t give us a normal side of Salsa unless we paid the $8 for a full order of chips and salsa . We got the little plastic cup, Had water . Bill was $50 bucks . Some people love it.. for my experience… not so much.

We love the live music, the food, and the drinks here! Always look forward to it when we come to Pioneertown. Check their Instagram or website to see their event schedule- they have live music all the time and Bingo! The tacos are excellent. We tried the chicken, pork, beef, and mushroom tacos. The pork was our favorite! Beef was second favorite, chicken was third favorite, and mushroom was least favorite but all were delicious. The tortillas were excellent. We also got the guac with chips and it was delicious and a good portion size. My husband had Modelos but I tried their margaritas and they were great!

Three of us visited on a honky tonk Sunday night. Parking is easy lot parking. Music was good, employees were kind and let us know that they’d be with us when they were done taking other orders. Drinks are good, food is finger foods. We ordered the tator tots and a chips w salsa. It was okayyyyy. Plenty of seating, free wifi as reception is spotty. Toilets and hand wash basin in the bathroom are black which is sketchy. Could use a more thorough cleaning and a changing out to white color. The surrounding area is Pioneertown, from what I understand was an old movie set. A very fun vibe overall. Time seems to stop when you’re there. Fun to experience 👍 Be careful of driving on the road at night, we were almost run off the road by overzealous and/or drunk locals.

Came here on a Saturday AM during Memorial Day Weekend for breakfast and sat outside with a small group. It was slow but we still had to serve ourselves because they don’t bring food out to you or have a wait staff. Joseph is very personable and makes a killer Bloody Mary (pictured) but his colleagues did the bare minimum. Came back on a Saturday early evening and the vibe and service were a total downgrade. My friend wanted to buy a t-shirt and another wanted to order a drink, but the staff seemed over it, perhaps due to the holiday crowd The live band is really loud, yet some Israeli local brings his donkeys, ties them to the fence right by the music, and asks for money when tipsy visitors want pictures. I felt bad for the poor animals.

In town for my husband’s birthday and decided to make reservations based off of reviews and location. Took a bit to be acknowledged when we arrived, we were finally seated and the hostess that seated us wished my husband a happy birthday as she had seen it on the reservation. We ordered drinks, the 57 martini, the dusty martini and a margarita. We then ordered the shrimp cocktail, and the shishito peppers . We enjoyed the drinks and appetizers. We then ordered our entrees. The rice with 2 skewers on the side and the steak plate . That was also good. It was like it seemed a pretty slow night, our waiter was kind and attentive. I did notice 2 people get a slice of cheesecake and a candle, and was waiting for my husband to get one as well. But he didn’t. Not sure if they forgot or what? Food and drinks were good, atmosphere a little outdated but makes sense because of the history of it. It was good to try it out.

Stopped in to enjoy the jazz band that plays every Sunday. We made a reservation earlier in the day, but when we got there, seems they forgot. We were easily seated near the band however. We did not have dinner. Had a couple of drinks that weren't too bad. I was surprised by the plastic water cups. Nice place to check out if you're in the area.

I had the opportunity to dine at The Copper Room, celebrating an anniversary, and it was fantastic! The restaurant is next to the airport so if you're flying in, it's super convenient. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the host, who was extremely friendly and welcoming. She led us to our booth and we started to look around the environment and it immediately felt like a time capsule back to the 70s. The interior design was super old school, groovy, and homey. Onto the menu, we ordered the artichoke dip, which was delicious (make sure you mix it well), the fried rice (very flavorful), and the steak (which had a very smokey and grilled flavor, cooked to perfect medium). For our drinks and dessert, we got a Sicilian soda, The Sky High (an NA drink that tasted nostalgic and like bourbon), and a Miso Carmel Cheesecake. The cheesecake was good and thick but the next time I go, I'd try their br ad pudding. Overall, this was a great experience. The host and server were very helpful and kind, the food was delicious and filling, and the environment was perfect. Shout-out to their music as well, it was beautifully curated to the restaurant ambiance. Check this place out when you're in town!

10/10 must visit! Fantastic service, stories, cocktails and more from John. You really made our night. The chef in the kitchen also really knows what he/she is doing. For everyone deciding if he should go there: do it! The cocktails are incredibly high quality and made with home made ingredients with lots of love. The atmosphere is amazing. Was here with a large group of 12 people, so we ordered virtually every item available on the menu. WOW!!!!!! What an absolute home run across the board… All of these were 10/10: Tomahawk (so tender and flavorful with amazing marbling), Pork Belly (same qualities as tomahawk), chicken lettuce wraps, shishito pepper, spinach artichoke dip (perfect balance of cheesy/with chunks of artichoke in there, YUM!!!), burger, fried chicken cutlet, ahi. The only thing that was “meh” were the fries. Needed salt but that’s fixable. So sad we only had one day in Joshua tree. I’d go back there the next night and might even drive out just for dinner. Wish I took more pics.

Great ambience and love the concept of Asian fusion infused menu but wish they could execute on that. None of the food taste particularly good, there is too much of a sour profile that wasn't balanced and we didn't really enjoy the food. I would also say that it's overpriced considering the food wasn't great.

Came here a bit ago on a trip to Joshua Tree with some friends. We were trying to find a cute coffee shop/cafe to go to for a pick me up and stumbled across this place. I really liked it! It’s a very cute cafe, beautiful decorated to fit the environment of Joshua Tree while bringing a modern/hip/aesthetic vibe that makes it feel like it could belong in a more urban area. The inside is simple but cute. I loved that it is a coffee bar and cocktail lounge combined. We ordered our drinks to go but it looked like they had decent seating inside and outside. The menu was decent with different syrup options for you coffee/tea choices. I ordered an iced latte with caramel and it was tasty. The staff were nice, there were lots of little keepsake items you could buy like stickers and prints, lots of wine options, full bar, and they had body products and candles. The energy was very calm and relaxed inside. I didn’t know until reading other reviews that they have a photo booth out back. Will definitely check this place again in my next trip to Joshua Tree and will have to take a pic in the booth!

Came here for the drinks and aesthetics. Aesthetics are a hit. It’s a trendy place that hosted a variety of influencer type people when we were there. It’s definitely hip. We loved the drinks there. The service was decent. They were fast and efficient. Not necessarily rude, but not super friendly either. The vibes were a little off. I originally ordered the Grilled & Stuffed Chilaquiles Breakfast Burrito. Shortly after paying, they said they ran out a replaced it with a sloppy Joe burrito that was the same price around $15. I laughed to receive something that could be eaten in 3-4 bites. It did taste good though. Iced Lavender Gin Fog: 4/5 Sunny Delight: 4.5/5 Sloppy Joe Burrito (Vegan): 3:5/5, small, pricey, but did taste good.

We were on the hunt for an “Instagrammable” brunch spot in Joshua Tree — and found the one! This café looks straight out of a desert daydream — cozy patio, perfect décor, and so much charm. We ordered iced coffee, an iced matcha latte, and breakfast burritos — all so good! The only thing we wished for was a bigger menu (a few items were sold out). Bonus points for the surprise photo booth! Every place in Joshua Tree seems to have one, and this was no exception — such a fun keepsake to take home. A total must-visit for breakfast (and photos!) when in Joshua Tree. 🌵

The place is located on the main highway easy to find and park. The look of this place is really nice and mellow minimal and simple I liked how it was themed to like desert colors almost and just had a nice vibe to it. The drinks were amazing I think I haven’t been to a bar in a minute that really plays well with fresh flavors in their cocktails and I enjoyed every drink I had. They have nice Photo Booth outside and I think it’s the perfect addition to their place. Will come back when I stay in Joshua tree again!

This is the best coffee you will get in Joshua Tree (if your taste lands closer to third wave). The vibe is excellent, Photo Booth super fun, and the folks working are attentive and friendly. The downfall of the place is their hot drinks. If you’re used to a classic cap ratio, I would recommend an iced drink such as a latte (mine was great!) or one of their excellent teas! Overall would recommend if you’re staying out in Joshua Tree and are on the prowl for artisan coffee.

I spotted this place on Instagram and convinced my boyfriend to check it out. On the way, we kept wondering how such a gorgeous spot (according to Instagram) could possibly be thriving in the middle of nowhere. Google Maps called it a “cocktail bar” … and we were heading there at 9 a.m. Not sure what our plan was. 😅 When we pulled in, the parking lot was packed—first surprise. Inside, the guy at the register was incredibly friendly. He recommended the breakfast burrito (which was phenomenal, especially with the white garlic sauce). I ordered an iced latte, but then he casually said, “If you’re looking for something with espresso, you won’t find better than our espresso martini.” I mean… at 9 a.m.? Scratch the latte—espresso martini it is. 😂 The food? Amazing. The cocktails? Exactly what we didn’t know we needed. Atmosphere and service? Perfect. And the merch? Couldn’t resist—a hat and t-shirt came home with me. Will 100% be back next time we’re in the area.

Very hipster location, good for pictures if that’s your thing. They also have a cute photo booth! We had a few items including the matcha lattes, a matcha based cocktail, and a mocha. The drinks were all very solid in taste, my favorites were the matcha lattes. Did not think matcha and tequila would mix well but the cocktail was delicious! The mocha was a little more on the bitter side but it did the job. For us, the best part was the italian sandwich. We were floored by how simple yet tasty it was. It had me thinking about making the drive out there just for that. Would recommend this as a quick stop for drinks and a small bite.

Had a late dinner here last night (20:30). It's a busy time of year with nearby Joshua Tree, so the wait was about 1 hour. The meat is cooked out front of the small restaurant over a bed of 🔥. We had the 10oz steak and baked potato, the rib sampler plate and a ceasar salad. We also sampled the baked beans, coleslaw and the cornbread muffins with honey butter. Oh so good! A friendly staff who are in constant motion given the popularity of this family run restaurant.

Decided to try this place as take out for the first time. The ribs were absolutely FALL OFF THE BONE! Probably the most tender ribs I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over southern USA and Texas. The ribs were juicy and well seasoned. The half rack came with two sides which I got mashed potato and broccoli which were delicious but small portion, so I took off a star. The burger was huge. I’d say 8/10 since it was cooked to medium and it came with crispy thin fries. My favorite. I’d come back to try their signature dry rub ribs.

Got a table pretty fast and was excited for the food. Ordered onion rings($16), they were good but such a measly portion. The cornbread was pretty good with the honey butter. I ordered 3 sides ($6 each) but the portions were just disrespectfully small. The ribs that we got were insanely dry. You d expect a place named after ribs to have decent ribs. The steak was ordered medium but arrived rare, when we sent it back, they just put it back on the grill but didn’t cook it properly still. Still very pink and inconsistent. Such a disappointing experience for paying that amount of money.

Big note that a lot of menu options are old and no longer being served. My opinion is to call before ordering online. Now as for the food it's ok. The ribs were very tender but lacked flavor. The beans also ok nothing to get happy about. My beans are so much better ( my opinion) The salad was good and liked the homemade croutons were delicious. Ranch dressing was good as well.

I used to enjoy coming here. The food was good during the pandemic. But the last two times I've come here the service is super slow and the food has been off. Yesterday we had ribs that were obviously reheated. They tasted like old grease. The coleslaw was spoiled as if it had been sitting out in the heat. It wasn't served cold. When I mentioned it to the server I didn't get the reaction I expected. Very disappointing. We won't be back again. And just to follow up on what was written above. We got sick from the little bit that we did eat. The health department should definitely take a look at this place.

Food was great! When all the tables are taken (which almost was) it gets really noisy. Service was also great! We had the porterhouse steak and the salmon.

Absolutely the best ribs I have ever had. Go for the rib sampler plate, you will not regret it! Every single rib was cooked to fall-of-the-bone perfection. Was told it was good for two, but realistically could have fed 3 or 4!

We went here for the vegan options. I had the BLT, my vegetarian partner had the grilled cheese, and we shared the chickpea salad. We also each had a cold brew coffee. Everything was very good! Definitely will return.

Youthful crowd, healthy food. Very cute atmosphere inside outside paint's peeling a little great Windows. Outdoor seating seems to be popular with the younger crowd.

Sausage, Egg, and Cheddar: 4/5 This was a great deal. It tasted like a sandwich you could make at home in the best possible way. I really like veggie sausage patties, so brace for it since it’s the main protein. The mayo they use was tasty and did not overpower the sandwich. I loved the very small salad of arugula on the side, a great way to brighten a normally very heavy breakfast. Americano: 4.5/5 Strong, dark, and not acidic. My perfect Americano. If you like something with lots of complexity, especially fruity notes, you may not like this. Tempeh Bacon: 3/5 This was a side order and they give you a good amount! It was very smoky, maybe a little too much liquid smoke, and salty. While I know it is trying to emulate bacon, it wasn’t crispy at all. It was just kind of wet and salty, mot my favorite. It was very tasty crumbling it into the potato salad though, I would recommend doing that. Potato Salad: 3/5 Flavor was decent and very traditional. I’m not a big fan of celery so I was glad this did not have any. The dressing tasted fine, but it was strangely separating/curdled. Also, the potatoes tasted old, you know when they get kind of leathery and shriveled from being in the fridge for too long. Ambiance: Casual. It has a desert hipster kind of vibe. Service: The staff was nice but food came out painfully slow. We waited for almost 20 minutes for a sandwich. Parking: Street parking on a wide street.

We went here for breakfast and we were not disappointed. One has to order at the counter and we had the classic egg sandwich ( this was yum), cream cheese bagel, salted caramel iced latte ( this was great) and a regular latte. Service was very quick and there's ample seating indoors and outdoors. The place has some really nice paintings too.

Loved this quaint little cafe! Recently stopped in with a group of friends (new to the area), and we were all very impressed with the menu options. Prices in California in general are higher than our Midwest norms, and this cafe was no exception- but it was worth every penny. I ordered the grilled cheese (added avocado), a hot peppermint tea, and a couple immunity and vitamin C shots. Laidback, cool atmosphere- overall great experience! I did not expect to eat Pho in Joshua Tree, but when my Vietnamese girlfriend saw this place we had to try it. A place called Jelly Donut… selling pho… in Joshua Tree?? Well, the pho is genuinely very good and a large portion; I was pleasantly surprised. The banh mi was solid as well. The place is Cash only but has an ATM inside. Owner was very friendly and the food came fast. No complaints. Highly recommend stopping by for a great meal.

Pretty good pho. They have a vegan friendly pho that’s served with veggie broth. For those avoiding dairy, I would not recommend their iced coffees, they all contain dairy and unable to opt for black.

While the food is decent, the service is absolutely horrible and the hit or miss hours make it impossible to plan to eat there unless you basically get lucky driving by while they’re open. I’ve eaten there 6-7 times and I don’t think I’ve ever had a positive experience with the staff. They seem to genuinely want you not to be there and act like your presence is a bother. Special shoutout to the girl at the front who sighs loudly every time you order as if you really caught her off guard by ordering food in a restaurant. Their hours are wholly inconsistent. They appear to close at will, and I’ve tried to go there multiple times to be turned around by a handwritten sign on the door saying they’ve closed inside of their posted hours. I’ve also been told they won’t take my order because it’s within 30 minutes of their lunch time. I apologize, I didn’t know I couldn’t order food while your open if it’s not the specific time you’re allowing me to order food. I’m genuinely excited for some other Vietnamese donut/pho options to open in town. It appears complacency in no competition has turned this place into a complete drag. I won’t be trying it any longer.

The owner updates the menu frequently, very generous portions and excellent food! I really enjoy the chicken and rice, the wife enjoys the beef and brisket wontons and fries, and my daughter craves the pho! The new brisket chili hotdogs are literally the best I’ve had in the US! Don’t skip this when you’re in town! (The photos of the brisket chili cheese dog was 1/4 of what it came with, the chicken and rice, the wonton fries brisket dish and the last photo was the birria egg rolls) egg rolls were great as well!

This was a cute place to relax and recuperate. Very friendly staff and great pho. Donuts are also phenomenal. A little pricey but for the middle of the desert, I was pleasantly surprised. The also claim their chili oil recipe is over 400 years oil, Which is pretty neat. Side note: bring cash because hot food is cash only.

The spring chicken was super delicious! It has an exquisite sauce. I'll gladly try it again 100 times. The restaurant is small but decorated very nicely.

We ate lunch at Casa Luna Mexican & Seafood restaurant on a whim and we really enjoyed everything about it! Roxy was our waitress and she was so friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. Everyone was so very friendly, which made our visit extra special. The food was amazing! We both ate the Filete Al Ajo, a fish named basa. I had never tried Basa before and so glad I did. The fish was white, light, and flaky and was so delicious, with lots of garlic! I requested veggies instead of rice and they were cooked perfectly (not soggy). All of the food was very fresh and flavorful, including the amazing salsas. We will definitely return.

In mid-August, my husband and I visited Casa Luna for the first time for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful. The colors, pictures, and decorations were so inviting. The service was great! The waiter and waitress were so nice and kept up with our water and chips and salsa needs. My husband ordered the salmon al pistachio, and I had camarones a la diabla. The food was delicious. It's been a couple of weeks, and my husband is still talking about his salmon. Portion sizes were great, I had some leftovers, and my husband almost licked his plate to completion. I hope to return soon.

Came into town and desired some Mexican food and local business. Found this place and man oh man I'm glad it. Tasty, authentic Mexican food with big portions! And the staff was awesome and so kind. The chile rellanos and fish tacos are amazing!

Excellent service, excellent staff and amazing food. I was getting my laptop fixed at Best Buy and we decided to have some Mexican food and boy did we make a good choice. One of the best chili relleno that I’ve had in years. Worth the stop. Update: while we waited for our car to get a dash cam installed, we stopped over to have a margarita. Of course it was very good and the service was great as always.

My dad and I are from New York road tripping the West Coast and stopped into Casa Luna for dinner tonight. We are both in the restaurant industry in NYC and were absolutely blown away with our experience tonight. I could type endlessly about all of the highlights of the evening, but here are a few to give you an idea of our experience. We ordered pineapple margaritas and watched as fresh pieces of pineapple were chopped and used in the making of our drinks. Unbelievable. The food was excellent, but I have to mention we had the best fish ceviche I’ve had in my entire life. All of the tacos were fantastic and the best part of it all was the service. Our server was nice and attentive, but the manager and bartender, Pepe, was the crown jewel. As someone who has been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years it truly puts a massive smile on my face to see someone like Pepe who has such a passion and joy for his work and cares to make sure every guest in the restaurant is taken care of and enjoying themselves. The next time I am out on the west coast I will go out of my way to return to Casa Luna and anyone reading this should stop searching for other places to eat and come here!!

I haven't been to this place in years because the last time my food was something out of Fear Factor. Greasy, soggy, and rancid. I have been craving carne asada fries for a couple of weeks, but was reluctant due to the previous experience. I figured maybe it's been long enough, they are still in business and things have changed. Worked up the courage to hit the drive-thru only to be hit with $18 for some carne asada fries. I asked the lady at the drive thru if she could make the fries extra crispy and drain the excess oil. Got home and opened up the food, smelled good, looked fresh, so I went for a bite. The fries were between raw and cooked! As if the temperature of the oil was too high, cooking only the outside of each fry. I know my request wasn't outlandish and if I needed to wait longer I would have, but no, another bad experience at this place. Maybe I'll try again in a couple years...definitely getting my money back.

This will be the last time I go to this restaurant. I ordered an asada burrito. I never seen a burrito so thin for $14. When I got home I opened up the burrito. There was less than a half a cup of meat. I even told the drive through lady why's my burrito so thin. She just shrugged her shoulders. Thanks for the rip off.

It was amazing to see the cashier do extra work after she got the tip. This is one of the first times in a long time that I gave a tip when paying at the register and the cashier continued to give me excellent service. Nothing bothers me more than a tip jar at the register and the cashier just expects it. But this girl went above and beyond and it made me so happy to see that. The service alone deserves 5 stars but then the food was excellent as well. This is a great place all around.

Love the food! It is like a fast food Mexican restaurant that has authentic Mexican food. The best part is the salsa bar, with about 4 different salsas, limes/lemons, Chiles guerros, carrots, and onions pickled. Staff is fantastic and friendly.

Horrible. Asked for no pigs feet in soup and they put a pig foot and almost no meat and hominy, and on top of that the soup was only full about 70%. Got asada fries and the fries are completely raw and unable to be eaten ,salsa looked and tasted extremely old. Got take out and left a good tip when ordering.

Drive thru was rude as he'll. I could hear them making fun of me because I asked if the taquitos were chicken. beans taste like fish. rice is dry.

Ordered from a delivery app. Got the burrito and tacos, but the tacos we were soggy. Then we ordered the child's pizza for our kid and we get Dino nuggets instead. Driver claimed confirmed with the restaurant and they said it was right. Nope, we got Dino nuggets...nasty Dino nuggets. No way to fix it, so we had to find plan B. Will never order online from this place again. Can't even get the order right!

Just happened to find this little gem. It was a beautiful morning, so sat outside and enjoyed the dessert mountain view as we ate. Ordered a breakfast special that included coffee. All was cooked to our request. Very,very good. The waitress was attentive and friendly. As we were leaving, we noticed they served "bloody beer "...oh, if only we'd realized it sooner!😮‍💨 but for the best, as we were ready to hit the road!

This place is fairly popular! We dash orders from here frequently, so we visited Super Bowl Sunday, and the game was playing on a large flat screen. Service was prompt and friendly. We had burritos, mine was a Chile relleño burrito I couldn't pass up. The place was packed but was hardly no wait time. Customers coming in and leaving in a clock work rotation. My only complaint was the price. It felt like all though the burritos were delicious, they should have been accompanied by rice and beans. I've basket of chips and spicy salsa was served on the house. We will return for sure.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The service was slow and inattentive — we waited a long time just to get water with 104 temp outside. When the food finally arrived, it was bland, poorly prepared, and definitely not worth the price. The flavors I expected from a Mexican restaurant just weren’t there, and the presentation didn’t help either. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because with better service and fresher, more flavorful food, this place could improve a lot.

The place looks very casual, but offers a great variation of food options. We had tostada de ceviche de camaron, tostada de ceviche de pescado; guac, and flan, — everything was really good. So the chips and salsa were. Service was simple but pleasant. Overall, it is a good place for a casual dining, I would definitely consider to come back.

Food was very delicious and filling. It was tasty and flavourful. However, we arrived on a Tuesday at 7:40 PM and we were told that we were unable to be served on plates and had to dine-in with takeout containers and plastic cutlery. We were surprised by this because the restaurant closed at 9 PM. Also, the server was a bit dismissive and never checked in with us. Overall would be an excellent place to order takeout.

Literally the BEST middle eastern food out there. Unexpectedly amazing. I came with a group on ladies, we ordered the baba ganoush, egg omelette, fries, feta toast and wrap and OMG everything is delicious. Highly highly recommend coming here for your dinner. Parking is easy lot parking, bathrooms are available. Servers are nice. Food is excellent.

We ordered a finicky coyote burger with beyond patty and the Jalla without cheese — both were good (ask for a vegan bun). They have a diverse sophisticated set of beers and good snacks, order pretzel without cheese, selection of nuts or pickles. We had some time to kill before heading to Cholla Cactus Garden for sunset and the service here was quick and efficient!

Prob one of my least favorite places we ate on our trip to 29 Palms. Food arrived to our table lukewarm. I asked for my burger to be well done and it came out with WAY too much pink. Service felt like an afterthought. The restaurant was loud. Judging from the other reviews it may have just been an off night.

I ordered the Beyond Burger here and honestly wish I hadn’t. Within hours I had the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever experienced and I traveled to India before ;) Clearly, something was not fresh or prepared properly. Food safety should be the bare minimum for any restaurant and this place completely failed. To be fair, the service was okay. The staff were polite enough and the food came out in a reasonable time. But that doesn’t make up for the fact that the burger itself wasn’t even enjoyable before it made me lose two days of my holiday

We had a delicious dinner here! We got a table immediately and didn’t have to wait long for our meal. We had the grilled cheese with regular fries and sqrl burger with garlic fries, both really tasty and fresh! Great service, and a fun atmosphere with live music and a wide selection of craft beers, I can recommend this place if you’re in 29 Palms!

Literally - best food ever. We’re GF and they’re so accommodating. Honestly best gf bun on my burger that I’ve ever had. And the gf wings - felt like we were cheating and eating gluten because they were so crispy. And the truffle fries were on point! Highly recommend this place. Great servers, amazing food and vibe is super fun.

Feels like their website may have been designed by chat gpt. Talking about chef inspired items. I would not get the pickles again! I was so looking forward to them as you cannot find them, everywhere and thought that the Swedish (noting this as the chef is noted to be from Sweden) were known for pickling. Tasted only like vinegar and like they hadn’t been pickled long enough. The beets were the best item in the “pickles” And there was no pickles in this either like shown on the website. The grilled cheese was meh. My friend had the pulled pork which was lack luster tomato based sauce with a very Smokey flavor. The French fries were tasty It was a surprise to find out it was open mic night. Was an interesting experience

The atmosphere and staff is amazing but food fell a lil short for me. Wasn’t horrid but flavor wasn’t there. Really enjoy their cocktails and beers. Well made, tasty, and fresh. The fries are really delicious and my finance really enjoyed the wings. I got the tacos Joshua tree tacos and the fish.🙂 there isn’t one Mexican chef in the back or something 😭 it was not it for me and I feel so badddd im just not the target audience for it 😭 the Mac and cheese wasn’t it either and I wish I got a smaller serving. I think if you eat meat or you are coming just for the bar you’ll have a great time!

Incredible on every level! The food was truly exceptional. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the dishes were beautifully presented, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The Snake bite burger, which had such unique and delicious flavor, was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Cowboy Wagu beef dog with creamy macs, sautéed pickled jalapeños and onions, was one of the most delicious combos ever! The tallow fries hit it out of the ball park for us! Simply smashing! Beyond the delicious food, the service was outstanding. The server was incredibly attentive and friendly without being overbearing. She anticipated needs with a smile and ensured everything needed was present. The staff accommodated our son with special needs in a remarkable way. They were so patient and understanding when a quieter table was requested. The staff went out of their way to adjust the order to his needs. The server provided a specific seating arrangement that worked well. This made our experience comfortable and supportive, allowing relaxation and enjoyment of the dinner together as a family. Thank you for creating an inclusive and enjoyable environment for families, including those with special needs. The restaurant will be recommended to others. Wish I could give this more than 5 stars. Friendly and attentive staff.. we sometimes are indecisive.. they were patient, gave us plenty of time to make up our minds and gave some great recommendations. Highly recommend the street corn, delicious. Plenty of spirits and drinks to choose from. Saloon-type feel we were looking for. I ordered the steak and she ordered the chicken. Both excellent. Perhaps the best chicken I've had, cooked perfectly and amazing flavor. Huge portions and we needed a box. Two boxes actually. We stuck around the hostess stand for a minute as we were hoping to get a bag for the boxes. Owner, Dion, saw us looking for something and immediately stepped in to help. Head out to the parking lot and the rental car had a dead battery. Dion to the rescue - immediately got us jumped and spent some time chatting with us offering great recommendations for the remainder of our trip. Great people all around.

Authentic Western vibe with good food, but long wait We visited Snake Bite Roadhouse in Yucca Valley after checking into our hotel late in the evening—just a short 2-minute drive away, as recommended by the staff. When we walked in, we were greeted by live music and a lively bar atmosphere, with people playing pool and a real Western-style interior that instantly set the mood. We only had to wait around 5 minutes for a table in the restaurant area. We ordered fried artichokes, a chicken burger, wings, fries, and local beer. While the food was delicious and the setting was great, we experienced a long wait for the food due to a large group being served ahead of us. The staff apologized, but it was already past 10 p.m., and we were tired and very hungry, so it did impact our experience. The local beer was $9, which felt quite steep compared to what we’re used to in Germany, but overall, the place delivered in terms of food quality and atmosphere. A solid stop if you’re not in a rush!

These are EASILY the BEST chicken tenders I've ever had. It sounds so basic but it is cooked fresh to order to the batter is light and simply perfect! Seasoned perfectly! 10/10 would recommend

Was expecting more from this place due to the reviews it had. The food left a lot to be desired - the lemon butter pasta was a huge portion but very bland tasting, the chicharrones were like pork rinds from a bag with tajin sprinkled, and the wings couldn’t pick between bbq or buffalo so they meshed both for a tasteless sauce. The front of the house was packed so that left us in the back forgotten. My waitress never asked if we wanted refills and offered my bill before she offered dessert. When we did ask about dessert she said they only had apple pie left. We had a slice and that was also average. No ice cream to go with it, just two sad piles of whipped cream. Their soft drinks also come from a soda gun so good luck getting what you asked for; my diet coke was a weird mix of flavors. The kitchen is also seen from the dining area so you can hear/see what I assume to be the boss yelling at his staff. You can also see how they’re struggling to get orders out, causing us to wait a while for our food. Overall, would not recommend this place.

This town was absolutely amazing. The history, the mountains, the caves, the entire place. They even have some smaller animals and places to eat. Plenty of outdoor restrooms and even picnic tables.

This place rules, period. Owner is super cool, ask him about the cars. Also, spend some money here if you are going to take pictures. Buy a shirt or a rolling tray. Only thing I would ask is that they host another pedal building workshop with Brad from Creepy Fingers, I'd be there tomorrow if they did!

This is such a fun shop!! I could spend an hour in there and not see everything. I love cool, funky stuff and nostalgic collectibles, and this place has those things. If you're in the area, you should check it out.

This place is one of the most authentic places you can go to in Wonder Valley. From The amazing local artists and the different features every night. Live music. Karaoke. Great place to take the family. Great place to go hang out with your girls on a girl's night. Just a really cool scene with an environment different from anything you've ever seen. All hippies welcome this is definitely going to be your favorite spot in the area.

Very low prices! Definitely a dive bar /restaurant. The people are what make this place pleasant they are friendly and very much hippies and or open minded folk. Friday nights they have open mic nights — expect anything. Vegan friendly.

It's been a couple years or so since I visited but this place is truly a "can't miss it" location. There is just a magic about the place that you can't buy.

Wasn't for us. Walked in and found a seat. Drunk guitar player singing out of key. I asked about service, never got an answer. Looked into the kitchen to ask and saw the condition. We left after that. It's a rowdy bar.

Amazing vibes, great service, had the privilege of being there on open mic night and saw some epic local talent. This place is a gem and I will be back

Why do I love The Palms Restaurant? Everything about it is aesthetically perfect, from the decor and the location, to the food and the drinks. This is my happy place. The Palms is in Wondervalley and is surrounded by stunning views of the desert landscape. The setting sun behind the red hills makes for a very romantic setting. The food is home cooked and very affordable. The drinks are stiff and cheap. Fridays is open mic night where the most interesting group of locals gather to listen to music and poetry. There is an outside area where events are held on weekends in the fall.

100% local bar, and great at the same time. We went on a Thursday night, had a couple drinks which were reasonably priced. Place has a digital julebox, at least one billiard table, and barflys.

Refused a beer as my wife didn’t have ID. I’m 55, she’s 51, and we were told it’s state law that you have to show ID before being served? Funny that in the previous 7 days we’ve never been asked? Obviously they didn’t want our money.

First time visiting. Went on a Friday night around 9pm and left around midnight. I don’t remember my much but I remember that all the drinks my crew got me were delicious! And the music was banging! I’ll definitely return and I highly recommend.

Excellent bar! Loved the huge mural in the main room. Played darts and watched some others play pool while enjoying a couple Pacificos. As the sign outside says, “not fancy but friendly.” Accurate. Everyone inside was friendly and wished us a Happy New Year. Highly recommend if you’re spending any time in Twentynine Palms.

Out There Bar is the best! There’s no better place around to have a cocktail or beer. If you haven’t been yet, you should go…now. Ian and all the amazing bartenders will make you feel like you’re at home. It’s got a great feel inside with an interesting mural, posters and decor. There’s pool and a shuffleboard for your entertainment. Always great music, most often a dj too. Great outdoor patio if you like to hang outside too. The boraxo hand soap in the bathrooms makes me happy every time I go there (it exfoliates). I can’t recommend Out There enough! I really just love this place and the people in it.

Sure seemed like we had found a special little bar in the desert. Stopped in on a Wednesday night to find a wonderful bartender and happy patrons to talk to. Bought the teeshirt!! Went back the next night and the woman behind the bar this night was also professional, warm and friendly. Decided to stop in the next night, Friday night and we were taken by the bartender who was cold and disconnected, bored, dry, without care or concern. So we didn't go back, finding other bars to frequent. Tonight, we stopped back in only to find the same deadpan bartender who offered no warmth or welcome, the guy had his arms crossed, no smile, he didn't even tell me how much the drinks where. Why have a bar with a careless and emotionally empty person out front? .$12.00 for a well drink and a ginger ale with no personality. It's no wonder the bar was empty.

Last night, I visited Out There Bar, and it was an absolutely horrendous experience, primarily due to the shockingly rude and aggressive behavior of the bar owner. Here are the key issues we encountered: 1. Extremely Rude and Aggressive Owner: The main reason our visit was so dreadful was the behavior of the bar owner. We wanted to shoot some pool before ordering drinks, but the owner immediately became irate. Instead of interacting with us directly, he monitored us through security cameras and then aggressively approached us, demanding that we order drinks right away. When we hesitated, he kicked us out within 10 minutes. At one point, he almost put his hands on one of us, which was extremely intimidating and unacceptable. The owner is an aggressive loser who has no idea how to run a hospitality business. His creepy and disgusting behavior completely ruined our trip. 2. Poor Service: Beyond the owner’s aggression, the overall service was disappointing. The rest of the staff seemed indifferent and inattentive, adding to the negative atmosphere created by the owner’s behavior. 3. Dirty Environment: The bar was not well-maintained, with sticky tables, dirty floors, and even some uncleaned glasses at our table when we arrived. It gave off a very unhygienic vibe, further detracting from our experience. It’s no wonder the bar was empty on a Saturday night. With such an aggressive and incompetent owner, it’s clear why people choose to go elsewhere. I would strongly advise against ever visiting Out There Bar. Even if they paid us to return, it wouldn’t make up for the disgusting behavior of the owner. If you go here, expect to have a horrible, uninviting experience. There are plenty of other places in town that offer better service, cleaner environments, and more reasonable prices. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs.

Fair drink prices/amazing cocktails and the bartenders are just wonderful! They have pop-ups (food-wise), and they're delicious, so don't sleep on them! The live music (if Melancholy Babies are playing RUNN!!! dont walk), and DJs that we've seen so far are magnificent. For the area, this IS your spot for a good time, and you will be made to welcome🥰 P.S. There's an ADORABLE Photo booth, an outside area, a pool table, and other games!

Great new bar. decent selection of mezcal. pool table, darts, and shuffle board. Good music selection that is unique to this area of bars. Outdoor seating as well

I did a solo trip out here for a milestone birthday years ago and stayed in the Jade room. It was the most fabulous experience ever! At that time it was actually a bed-and-breakfast. A friend and I returned last week to re-experience the awesomeness. It was every bit as fantastic as my first trip!!! I stayed in the Jade room and my friend stayed in the Onyx room and it was like staying in a cozy cave! With only the two rooms and with us occupying both, it was like having a totally private place to ourselves. You also cannot beat the views, the sunsets, gorgeous clouds, stars and glorious nature! A private “fenced in” patio off of each room is to die for; bring a bathing suit (or not as no one would see you skinny dip anyhow) so you can soak in the hot tub under the stars. The location can’t be beat as it’s only 1 mile from the West entrance of the Joshua Tree National Park. I wish I was still there! Kudos!!!!

What a wonderful place. The tranquility and ambiance is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Jade room and it was just perfect. The outdoor tub is amazing! The outside mattress is perfect for star gazing. The view from this room is just breathtaking. Nestled just one mile from the entrance to Joshua Tree, this little piece of heaven is worth staying at. We will be back!

Sacred Sands holds a special place in our hearts—we worked our very first wedding there back in 2016 when I had just started the business. At the time, it was under different ownership, but a few years ago, Keith and Kayla took over and truly elevated the venue. They’ve thoughtfully renovated the property and have done an outstanding job cultivating strong relationships with their vendor team. We stayed at the Jade Room during our trip to Joshua Tree, and my girlfriend and I couldn’t be happier about it. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay near Joshua Tree. The room was super clean and cozy, with an outdoor bathtub and a comfy bed. Definitely perfect for stargazing!

I truly enjoyed my stay at Sacred Sands. I planned months in advance when I first came across this gem. I was in contact with the owner whenever I had a question and it was always a pleasure when we spoke. This was a special getaway for my love and I. It was such a perfect surprise for him and I loved his reaction. I didn't expect anything less with how amazing this place is. There’s nothing like seeing photos and having the space be exactly that or better. Check in and check out was very easy. All the amenities listed were exact. The land that it’s on and the views you’ll experience are something out of a movie. I most certainly recommend Sacred Sands. I reserved the Jade suite and my love and I was very, very happy.

I have been here once and it was a pretty neat place to go. I only stayed long enough to complain about the noise to someone and left. But like I said it was cool while I was there looking for someone in charge. I have seen it more than I have been to it, Google wanted a review so here is a review. I can look outside my front window or out of my garage (when it's open) and I'm about to view the most Sacred of Sands across the desert about 1/8 mile or so away. The colors are vivid, and rusty. That's pretty neat too. They have events here, and I can usually dance along with the guests to the tunes since I can hear the festivities from my garage. It's a good time for them, and a good (free) time for me!

Left a vinyl copy of Led Zeppelin I in the Jade room last night - enjoy! This place is just unbelievably fantastic. Visiting Joshua Tree was a bucket list item, and Sacred Sands was the icing on the cake, you will not be disappointed.
