Cocktail bar
Bar
Nestled in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown, The Keefer Bar is a captivating cocktail haven that transports you to an apothecary-inspired world. As you step inside this intimate space, you'll be greeted by soft lighting and intriguing decor featuring Chinese anatomical illustrations and vintage glassware. The ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable experience as you explore their innovative drink menu, which features unique concoctions crafted with house-made bitters, herbal infusions, and exotic fruits.
Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Set in Vancouver’s Chinatown, the area surrounding the bar has visible street challenges and some homelessness, which affects the overall vibe. Inside, the concept is clever—drawing from traditional Chinese medicine with signage and visual elements that playfully frame alcohol as a form of healing. There’s a patio, a cool integrated backbar, and a decent mix of table and bar seating. Music volume was just right for conversation. Drinks: 8/10 Recommendation: Cool As Drinks were consistently well balanced. Menu is digital-only, but well-designed with pictures and flavor details. Would’ve loved a physical menu for a more premium feel. Glassware was good, but garnish and presentation were on the basic side. No coasters. Service: 8.5/10 Water offered on arrival. The team was friendly and attentive. Prices were average for Vancouver. Overall experience felt well-managed and smooth

This long-standing bar has built a solid reputation over the years, and it’s easy to see why. Every cocktail on the menu is expertly crafted with great attention to detail, delivering both excellent flavor and balance in every sip. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting—perfect for unwinding with friends or enjoying a night out—and the staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable, making the whole experience feel special from start to finish.

We went twice in the same week — all the drinks were really well made and delicious. We ordered some shots (can’t remember the name) but they were interesting! Service was good both times.

Didn’t have a chance to try the food but came for the happy hour drinks. Love the old school medical vibe inside. Great service from friendly staff. Drinks were delicious and great prices for happy hour!
Maria W — Google review
Best bar I have ever been to, period full stop. I have been to upscale bars all over north america and this is better then ANY cocktail bar I have ever visited. The staff is amazing every single visit. Their selection of cocktails is off the charts and if you want something totally off menu just ask. Make this a must visit bar any time you come to Vancouver.
Mark S — Google review
Drink menu is deep and all bangers. Our server was great, made great recommendations, checked in on us just the right amount and was generally great. Inside was a bit loud for my elderly ears, but sitting outside was perfect. They even gave my wife a blanket to make sure she was comfortable! Definitely a must-go for cocktail enthusiasts.
Micah Q — Google review
One of the best in Cocktails. Bar tenders are so professional and nice. We had some food which tasted so good.
Sharzi B — Google review
They chose a theme and fully committed to the bit. Upon entry you are given a prescription pad with instructions for one of their drinks and the QR code to the menu. The menu itself is full of fun drinks. The decor on the inside of the bar is on theme and even the bathroom has X-rays in it. The cocktails we had were delicious and as described.

Cocktail bar
Lounge
Restaurant
Tucked away on trendy Main Street in Vancouver, The Narrow Lounge is a hip and dimly lit prohibition-style bar that offers a glimpse into the past. The retro cocktails exude classiness while complementing the dive bar ambiance. This unmarked hideaway, known for its red light signaling when it's open, features an intimate backyard expansion with a laid-back tiki-style bar.
I missed this place twice trying to find it, but once I went in I was met with dim glowing lights, decorated walls and overall an awesome dark ambience. It's Halloween themed too which is a bonus. The area is not too big and the music was not too loud, in fact they were playing some pretty sick grungy music that I would have loved to catch the name of. The eats are very well priced and looked appealing, ranging from burritos to shareables. I enjoyed my cocktail and wish I could have gotten more. The service was amicable and really friendly! The bathroom was clean for my visit, and also had some artsy decorations. Overall, I really dig the style and design of this place. It stands out among the monotonous atmospheres of other run of the mill bars. I hope to bring more people here who would similarly appreciate cool sights and sounds.
Ray — Google review
Soo affordable and so fun to go to. I have come twice and enjoyed the inside and outside. Inside is low lighting, limited seating, nice spot for 2 people. The seating is mostly for two but can definitely work for four. Out doors there is some bar seating and a couple long picnic tables where 2-3 different groups can come to the same table. It is definitely popular and never empty but usually so far this is always somewhere available They have interesting liquors to try! Their cocktail menu is also mixed classics and fun stuff. Their food menu is so affordable and the portion is very good, honestly great place to bar hop. Just a note, I brought one friend who is sensitive to certain cheaper liquors and they struggled with their drink, no one else did.
Jane D — Google review
The best cocktail bar in Vancouver. Their Hurricane drink is wicked, the tater tots w/ beef are amazing, it's a wonderful vibe and I loved my time here. Definitely a good spot to go to with friends, you won't regret it. Neat SF2 cabinet in the back as well.
Maxwell H — Google review
Lovely little spot with a nice patio as well. We only stopped in for a drink. The atmosphere is cool, and while my drink was a bit too sweet for my taste, we'd like to come back — maybe during happy hour — to give it another try!
Gloria L — Google review
Glad i finally found this place!!! TJ was great and was attentive and the drinks were great. Was really impressed by the music here, too... Sublime, Augustus Pablo & Chromatixx.--- great stuff 💯🫡
Riley B — Google review
Man oh Man what an incredible evening well spent!!! Great service the energy is top notch. My personal recommendations would be to meet TJ(mixologist/bartender). This guy has magic portions stored up his sleeve if he comes by your table just ask him to whip you up anything he feels like at the moment. We had something called “what’s the thyme” the cocktail that has blueberries and his secret syrup gin we definitely had our minds blue-own. Can’t wait to go back to this place for the September Sangria thing. Ohh don’t forget there is no reservation so be there early it’s purely first come first serve. Cheers to TJ and crew this is one of my favourite places on my list
Kevin K — Google review
Good spot, I would visit again. The lavender gin fizz was delicious, they make the lavender vanilla syrup in house. The crunch wrap was a little bland but the cheesy tots hit the spot. Nice bartenders! Look for the red light just off Main on 3rd. I didn’t realize it apparently they have a back patio too!
Katie R — Google review
One of my favorite dives in the city. They now do tacos and have an outdoor area in the back in the summer. Heads up that it... Doesn't smell great in there at times if you're sensitive to that. Usually busy and loud, but tight and enjoyable.

Pacific Northwest restaurant (Canada)
Restaurant
L'Abattoir is a popular restaurant located in the historic Gastown area of Vancouver. The industrial-chic setting provides a unique atmosphere for enjoying Pacific Northwest cuisine with a French influence, complemented by craft cocktails. Chef-owner Lee Cooper, who has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants in the U.S. and UK, leads the kitchen. The restaurant has received numerous accolades from various prestigious lists and guides, solidifying its reputation as one of Canada's best dining establishments.
Pricey, but worth every penny. Each dish is absolutely extraordinary and packed with flavour. Here’s a tip: they have happy hour drinks and appies that come at a great value. The baked truffle mussels are the best I’ve ever had. The bartender and staff were wonderful.
George F — Google review
An absolute gem in the heart of Gastown! L'Abattoir delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We opted for the Chef's Tasting Menu, and it was a spectacular journey. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented. The ambiance is intimate and chic, with a vibrant energy that makes it feel special without being stuffy. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Our servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, guiding us through the menu and ensuring our evening was flawless. L'Abattoir is a must-visit for anyone looking for a good dining experience in Vancouver.
Oindrila D — Google review
Great fine dining restaurant in the heart of gastown. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and the restaurant gave us complementary champagne to mark the occasion. Very nice of them to do so. We ordered the bread basket, tuna crudo, octopus, duck, steak Diane and the strawberry and cream for dessert. For drinks we got the shake senora and don draper which were nice. The best appetizer was definitely the tuna crudo. Both mains were delicious too and the dessert is a must get. Total came out to around $270 before tip. Definitely on the pricier side but we had the perfect amount of food. Service was great and we’ll definitely come back!
Vincent H — Google review
Solid upscale restaurant. Made a reservation in advance and was seated immediately. I ordered the pork jowl confit $32, wild pacific halibut $53, and a glass of sauvignon blanc $16. Food is high quality and all the ingredients and flavors were well thought out and meshed well together. Portions and prices felt reasonable. Service was pretty good too. I requested for no added salt or butter, and received a very salty fish, but they gladly exchanged it and brought the new dish out rather quickly. They have a sommelier as well. Very nice restaurant. Quiet, a little dark, intimate setting. Indoor dining only, bar and table seating. I recommend this place
Tim — Google review
Husband and I went for a date night and had the chef's menu. It was excellent. The octopus and the tomato salad were standouts. The halibut was cooked well too, as was the lamb dish. We spent $140 each for the chef's menu (without drinks or service charge) which we thought was good value. We left very full! The desserts were tasty too but the fizzy lemonade one was unexpectedly amazing! Tapioca balls, fizzy lemon, vanilla ice cream, blueberry and raspberry granita... It was such a fun surprise! Service was impeccable and they gladly accommodated my weird kidney transplant food requirements. A must visit.
Anne H — Google review
This place is a can’t-miss—pure class. I sat at the bar for happy hour, and their $10 cocktails are a fantastic deal. The oysters are a must-try, no exceptions. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great suggestions on what drinks to try
Alex C — Google review
We tried the seasonal chef’s menu last week. I was surprised by the presentation of the steak tartare, which appeared as tuna sushi. It tasted really good! I picked the Wild Pacific halibut even though I’m not a big fan of fish. The fish was smooth in texture and went very well with the beurre blanc. I ordered a mocktail, which was quite refreshing, as I had a wine tour that morning, so no more alcohol for me😆
Candy C — Google review
Heard really great reviews about this restaurant and came here for dinner as a back up plan, but left knowing I probably won't return. The vibes here are nice but the menu is lacking in options and portion size. Personally had the Heirloom Tomato Salad, Pork Jowl Confit, and the Wild Pacific Halibut (as pictured) to myself. All dishes were tasty and cooked really well but I was so disappointed my halibut was served barely lukewarm - maybe my dish was cooked faster and the kitchen waited for all our table's dishes to finish before serving them together, but my plate was room-temp-cold, so it tasted like it just waited out in the open (ie. not warmed under a heat lamp). The halibut was cooked and seasoned really well though, no bones. With regards to my comment on portion size, perhaps I have a large appetite or I came post-hike (4-hour difference from my last meal) and was just starving, but I left still feeling hungry after my 3-dish meal. The menu is all a-la-carte only and not filling at all, but that's not the restaurant fault. Despite my disappointment in the food, our server was really nice. Unfortunately, she spoke so softly and too quickly that I almost felt rude asking her to repeat what she said after every few sentences. Aside from that, she was quite prompt (ie. we didn't feel like we had to wait and flag her) and recommended menu items with positive enthusiasm. Other restaurant staff were also really cordial which we appreciated. There is another French restaurant within walking vicinity of here that was more favourable.

Restaurant
Nestled within the Fairmont Hotel, Botanist is an elegant and airy restaurant that offers a modern Canadian dining experience. The restaurant boasts a champagne lounge and cocktail bar, featuring creative presentations and a focus on locally sourced produce and sustainable seafood. Chef Hector Lagunas showcases his artistry with bold flavors and textures influenced by his Mexican heritage.
I don’t usually write reviews but My wife and I had one of the most unforgettable anniversary dinner thanks to everyone who supported us. We had the “We Take It From Here” Chef Hector’s menu on the second day of its release, and the entire experience was unforgettable. Each course felt like a story of flavor, carrying us through the seasons with a perfect balance of Japanese influence and creative touches. Dessert was a highlight, beautifully crafted and memorable. Our main server, Nicole, was wonderfully attentive and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. Hannah showed such great enthusiasm when explaining each dish, which added so much to the experience. The whole team displayed passion and appreciation for the smallest details, which truly elevated the night. That same passion carried through to the cocktails, especially with Justin, who delivered his creative artistry in a way we had never experienced before. We started with “What the Flower” and “Wild and Free.” “What the Flower” electrified the senses with every sip, while “Wild and Free” was full of character, the perfect balance of herbaceous and bitter. Later, we went to the bar to experience the “Experiential Cocktails.” “Pale Blue Dot,” inspired by Carl Sagan’s book and the idea that Earth is mostly water, was stunning in both concept and flavor. “Earth’s Energy” felt grounding, like stepping into the forests of North Vancouver. Each drink was paired with a small bite that enhanced the experience enormously. From start to finish, the creativity, service, and attention to detail made this a night to remember. Highly recommend to anyone who values food and drink as a true art form.

One of my favourite restaurants!!! The food and drinks are incredible and the service even better! When they found out it was my second time doing the tasting menu they went out of their way to look up the meal and wine pairings I had and ensured nothing repeated. Will definitely be back!!! If you like a tasting menu, this place is a fantastic option
Kathryn W — Google review
Between ambiance, service and the food this location has been a spot where we are always happy to return. Our server truly made the experience one to remember and cherish. My spouse loved the salmon. I cant say enough about it and I dare say it was one of the best salmons that I've ever had a bite of. I had the lamb and that was also a winner but 2nd place to the blackend salmon. If you want to celebrate and price isn't the biggest hurdle in your celebrations then I recommend the botanist for its service, food and drinks!
Soheil F — Google review
Had a fantastic first experience at Botanist. Opted for the six course tasting menu and we were impressed from start to finish! All of the dishes were crafted perfectly and each one had a unique element that we hadn't experiencd elsewhere. Staff were very pleasant and were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions without any question. They also made special unexpected touches for my wife's birthday, which was appreciated. Would highly recommend.
Thomas C — Google review
We went for brunch. It was the one of the best places in Vancouver. In overall, food, service, atmosphere were amazing. It is set menu that you can choose from. Dish presentation was so beautiful. We enjoyed the time at the Botanist. I will definitely go back and will try the dinner next time.
C K — Google review
Update: Adding more photos from the dinner; lovely staff & menu again😊 ===== Had a lovely lunch at Botanist yesterday. We started with the Pan-Seared Squid which was tender, perfectly grilled, and full of fresh flavor. I had the Maitake Mushrooms while my husband ordered the Pacific Halibut. Both were fantastic, but the halibut really stood out. Perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, delicate on the inside, and beautifully balanced with the accompaniments (couldn't stop dipping the bread in the juice). To pair, I tried the My Time cocktail. Soooo refreshing and well-crafted that I ended up ordering a second one!! Forgot the name for my husband's drink, that one was very nice as well. A wonderful dining experience with beautifully plated dishes, great flavors, and cocktails worth coming back for 😊😊
Sue K — Google review
I cannot say anything but excellent things about Botanist. My husband and I had the 6 course tasting menu to celebrate my birthday, and if the food didn't blow our minds (which it did; both in taste and presentation), the service and ambience would have more than made up for it. I literally have no critiques. The mocktails were divine, and they were able to accomodate our pescatarian dietary needs with no hints of having to make concessions to the quality of each dish. I left this dinner very full, happy, feeling extra special on my birthday, and already planning which next occasion we could use as an excuse to return. It is now up there for one of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver.
M H — Google review
We had the “We’ll take it from here” which includes six courses. Each course was better than the last, and the wine pairings are perfect for each dish. Each pairing adds a subtle twist and enhances each dish, which is already delicious on its own. I’d say my favorite was the pasta course and the steak was a close second.

Lounge
Restaurant
The Diamond is a lively cocktail lounge with a vintage appeal that overlooks Maple Tree Square in Gastown. Upon entering, visitors can capture the illuminated artwork before ascending the wooden stairs to this iconic establishment. The menu offers an array of cocktails, including classic and refreshing options, with the option to enhance them with hand-cut crystal-clear Kodama ice for an additional fee. The venue provides excellent people-watching opportunities during early evening and exudes a bustling atmosphere as night falls.
Great craft drinks in a unique space. Good vibe/ambience, especially as the sun sets and the DJ started spinning. Service was fast and friendly. Feature drinks are stellar. Not a lot of food options, but that charcuterie hit the spot. Note there is a flight of stairs you need to climb at the entrance.

Love the cocktails! They have so many and they all taste very good! Place is nice and love the atmosphere (A bit noisy for my taste tho) Music, in my perspective, do not fit the vibe of the bar I WILL COME AGAIN
Alejandro H — Google review
We love gastown so we absolutely had to check this place out. We made a reservation prior which we’d recommend because this bar was packed. You can make a reservation by making a local donation, well worth it. We had so many cocktails we completely forgot what we ordered because each one was so good (see pics 😹). And even though our server was literally levitating, because he was so busy, it didn’t seem to faze him. My only disappointment was the menu. It’s basically meat, cheese, olives and bread. But our server made excellent recommendations when he saw my face and he even apologized. So sweet. And I thoroughly enjoyed my pound of butter with my 🍞 . I absolutely loved my window view and would probably come back just to sit and stare, as the bar and building is truly a sight to see.

My partner and I were visiting from Toronto and The Diamond came highly recommended. We sat at the bar and were treated to great, unique cocktails and equally as great service! I could really tell that the bartenders cared about the creative process and attention to detail for each drink. Was fun to hear how they seem to specially develop their cocktail menu in house on pretty much a monthly basis! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone :)

This place makes the best Old Fashioned you'll ever try. It's been a while since I visited, September 2022, to be exact. But I figured I should leave a review since I've spoken highly of this place to friends, since. On a summer evening, this is the place to be. It was very relaxing to sit by an open window on a second floor bar and watch the busy Gastown street below. Really interesting little bar, knowledgeable bartenders, and high quality drinks. Next time I'm in Vancouver I will be in a hurry to come back to this place. I've tried many cocktail bars in my days and this one is certainly one of the best in Western Canada.
Ethan M — Google review
Best cocktail bar I visited in Vancouver. Drinks tasted phenomenal, especially when I asked for a new twists to my drinks and my bartender mixed some awesome drinks. Sat at the bar watching the bartenders and barback go to work. It was a real pleasure to watch them mix drinks and chat with customers. Service was impeccable throughout. The price wasn't ridiculous either. Really happy with my experience here.

Ws went to the Diamond twice in search of the Elk Room for the speakeasy bar. On Tuesday, the room was not open so we just had cocktails in the main restaurant. We did ask the server if we could view it as we were not from Vancouver but was denied due to some furniture arrangements but in general the server was nice about it. For both times the service was great, cocktails were awesome and the music got you movin'. It was much busier when we went back on Thursday with the Elk Room open. The server and bar tender was super nice and made awesome cocktails. Will definitely go back if we were in town.

Live music bar
Bar
Lounge
Guilt & Co is a hidden gem in Vancouver's bustling Gastown neighborhood, offering an intimate underground space for live music, cocktails, and small plates. The venue has a cozy and dark ambiance that feels like a rogue cantina straight out of Indiana Jones. It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it, located beneath Chill Winston with a discreet entrance marked by a sandwich board and steps on the side of the building.
If you love live music and want a novel date night spot, this is the place to be :) Compared to other places such as Frankie’s or Water Street Café nearby, the cover is relatively more affordable ($7/ person per 45-minute set) if you plan on making this one of the stops (it racks up if you stay for both sets). Make a reservation and take advantage of the amazing happy hour menu they have- we arrived at around 6:30 with a reservation and got in without waiting, but by 6:45 the bar was packed with a long line outside for the 7pm show! Because it’s so busy, be prepared to get seated with other tables as well. Service was prompt and exceeded my expectations for a bar, and having some food with our drinks with a live show made it such a magical date night :) I would highly recommend their Tuna & Mango Tostada, it was so refreshing and so yummy I’m dreaming about it right now as I post the review 🥲🤤🤤 (It was so good I dived right in and finished it without even taking a picture 🤣)

One of my favourite placws for live music. They get the best bands. I also like that theres no reservations. That way if you make a last min decision to go its not a problem. Service could be better. Once you get your drink they pretty much leave you for the evening. The last time I went i had to ask our waitress 3 times for a food menu. 1 hr later we still didnt have one so I had to get uo and go find one. The meat and cheese board was phenominal phenomenal.

Went for an after dinner drink, didn’t order any food. The live music was incredible and the ambiance was swanky but still welcoming and fun. The bartenders were attentive and quick. Will definitely go back.

Beautiful live music and awesome vibes, some salsa dancing and wholesome atmosphere! We came for the cocktails, original and yummy, but we were welcomed with a lot more! Unexpectedly more expensive since you have to pay 7$ per set, but the vibes were worth the price

The Shameful Tiki Room, established in 2013, is a vibrant tropical-themed venue that offers Polynesian-inspired cuisine, exotic cocktails, and live music. With a focus on reviving the old school Tiki ambience of iconic lounges from the past, this 1,200-square-foot 50-seat restaurant and bar boasts an extensive menu of classic cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
Really friendly and personable bartenders! Designated Driver was one of the best and cheapest mocktails I’ve ever had. It’s not an especially unique tiki bar (I’ve been to many), but it’s still very immersive and fun. Nice and dark inside. If I ever come back to Vancouver, I’ll try the food here next time because it looked really good!

Before coming in, I was heavily excited about checking this place out. There were no servers on sight to have us seated. So we helped ourselves and chose a table to sit at, no problem. After a while, we placed our order as well as enjoying the ambience and decor that surrounded us. The drinks were solid, because with that alone, I would give a 5-star rating. Our Pu Pu Platter arrives and unfortunately it was mediocre. The BIG thing was that the server DID NOT ask us if we had any food allergies. The menu also doesn’t describe other potential ingredients included in the platter because there were pineapples (I’m highly allergic to) in the salad where the ribs sat on top of. omg…I immediately/genuinely did not want to take another bite of the food anymore. I still left a tip even though they forgot to place our taco order that we asked for, but never have I ever experienced this kind of shock/scare. Maybe you will have a better experience than I did… :’( Dined in on 25/05/04

Came here early for a couple drinks. Chill vibe , smoke machines + sound effects later on. Very dark inside. Still easy to talk not super loud. Tried a few different drinks and all were tasty , I like the menu is is very descriptive and images of each of the drinks. My favourite was blue Hawaii , not blended but small chunks of ice. We didn’t try food other than chips + salsa , decent portion $9. Our server was efficient and made sure we always had a drink or asked if we want more. 2 hour time limit on tables.

What a place to be! It's one of the best cocktail bars out there. The vibes are impeccable, the cocktails are to die for! Service is great. Amazing place to have drinks with your friends, hands down! I love the tribal look they have for the place, such a vibe. Do yourself a favor and take a cab to this place because you'll leave turnt 🤣

Started with the Punch bowl , then Zombie and Pain Killer . The drinks are very good and pretty quick . I had the Edamame , Avacado and Crab and Red Curry for dinner with a Salad . My Salad was super clean and fresh and my dressing tasted healthy . I have food allergies and our Server was very helpful . I had zero allergic reactions and furthermore no bloating or any stomachs issues. I didn’t wake up with a hangover in the morning despite the buzz that I had the night before. The lighting is darker than most Tiki places but I don’t mind as they serve interesting drinks throughout the night with special effects . Next time I go I am taking a small flashlight and magnifying glass to see the menu . The service is good . Quick for how busy it is . Our server reminded us of the two hour turn around and she spoke so fast but I just think it was busy so nothing personal . When we asked if we can sit at the bar after there were mixed answers like they maybe wanted us to leave so there is room for those who made reservations to sit at the bar ? Not really sure , my husband asked the Bartender and he said we could stay but then someone told my husband we couldn’t so we left even though we were going to have more drinks . Again I don’t take it personally, I just think there was something going on that Staff was just trying to manage . Everyone was friendly , just very busy. I’m a Tiki enthusiast so I’m just grateful that the Shameful Room is in Vancouver. I definitely plan to go back . We had a great time .

We came here for a friend's birthday. It's a bit dark inside but it's a cool little place to go to. The food was good and reasonable for price.

The bartenders are friendly and drinks are fantastic. They have an unusual but very tasty painkiller. The Navy Grog was on point. Their house special Day of the Dead was unique and we recommend! I really enjoyed the veggie dumplings. I would pass on the crab dip as it was not very crab filled (perhaps they should transition to just artichoke). Fun ambience too! Check them out for sure if you are big into tiki.

After over 10 years of visiting Shameful Tiki Room (Vancouver) with my significant other, I’m finally leaving a review. Long overdue for a place that’s become such an important part of our lives. This is the bar I actively reserve time off for. It’s not just a night out, it’s a full-on escape from reality. Booking a reservation is highly recommended to avoid disappointment, but even if you walk in on a busy night, the staff always go above and beyond to try and fit you in. Our favourite spot is “the throne,” and whenever I request it in the reservation, they do their best to make it happen. Little touches like that really stand out. From the moment you walk in and see the “please wait to be seated” sign (with a cheeky nautical cartoon font you might recognize), you’re transported. The ambiance is immersive (tropical music, flickering lights, surprise gong shows, and classic black-and-white TV clips). It’s theatrical in the best way. The cocktails are consistently phenomenal. They are made with freshly juiced fruits, high-quality in-house syrups (which you can buy, I use them at home), and top-tier garnishes (even the cherries are next level). In over a decade, we’ve never had a single off drink. The Mai Tai on Mondays is a steal at $10, easily the most authentic-tasting one in the Lower Mainland. As a rum connoisseur, their selection is incredible. From high-end labels like Facundo Paraiso, Ron Millonario XO, and Panamonte XXV, to unique Haitian Clarin rums. The food is reasonably priced and pairs well with drinks, making it perfect for casual snacking. That said, it’s the drinks that truly take center stage at this establishment. And yes, when it’s super busy, cocktails can take a bit longer, but I’ll take a carefully crafted drink over a rushed one any day. The bartenders are true pros, and even on packed nights, they keep things moving smoothly. The staff are exceptionally personable and friendly, and they ensure your water is always filled promptly. Looking forward to making many more great memories here.

Grapes & Soda is a cozy and intimate spot in Vancouver, offering a warm and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a date night. It prides itself as the city's first natural wine bar, featuring an ever-changing selection of carefully curated small plates such as local cheeses, charcuterie, and delightful desserts. The 30-seat space boasts stripped-back minimalism with dark walls and bare bulbs, creating a charming ambiance that doesn't take reservations.
This bar has officially made it to my list of favourites. We stopped by last night for a drink and dessert, and it did not disappoint. The warm chocolate cookie with roasted coconut ice cream was absolutely delicious, and my cocktail was both creative and full of flavour. I also tried my husband’s feature soda cocktail, it was refreshing and perfectly balanced. We’ll definitely be back, especially since the featured cocktails change often. The selection of scotches, whiskeys, gin, and other spirits is impressive, and the service was warm and welcoming. A great spot all around!

Charming, intimate cocktail bar with daily features and small plates. The Red Door cocktail was a standout—layered, balanced, and delicious. Loved the beef croquette and sablefish too. Portions are small but high quality. No happy hour, but worth it. Great spot for creative drinks. Highly recommend booking ahead!

We had a group of 5 walk into this cozy, intimate bar without a reservation and the staff was very accommodating in finding a way to get us sat! I am so glad it worked out because this ended up being our favorite bar we went to in Vancouver! All the drinks we drank were wonderful. The natural wine selection was well curated, the cocktails were delicious, and their homemade cocktail sodas were a unique (and yummy) pair of drinks that really stood out. I had two drinks at this establishment that were unlike anything I’ve ever drank before: One being one of their soda-cocktails and the other being their cocktail with charcoal in it (I can’t remember the name). I can’t recommend this place enough, go and try it (but try and get there early or make a reservation)!

I thought the space was super cool when walking in. It was cozy and such a nice vibe. I only got one drink but thought it was pretty nice, I heard it is what they are known for, I got the bottled Soda cocktail. It was tasty and flavourful and it went down super smoothly! When I come back to Vancouver and want a place for a drink I’ll be sure to visit again!

"The alaskan goodbye was the best cocktail I've ever had" - my friend. Great vibes, great staff, Thomas really cares about what he does and it shows thru and thru. You could say he's a master mixologist (though he wouldn't like that title 😂). Definitely come here for a drink or two, and do yourself a favor and sit at the bar.

Love this place! First time here and it felt like a FIND! My dining partner thought so too. It was recommended by a friend who knows Vancouver, so I shouldn't have been surprised. The daily cocktail I had (they had two on the boards) was one of the best drinks I have ever had and I have confidence that's likely going to be true with most drinks I will likely get here in the future. The food was unique in content and match ups. I loved the tempura corn, the melon appy, the heirloom tomatoes, and the melon dessert. All of them had interesting additions. I could go on but don't have time to write as much this time. My dining partner requested more servers please. It was packed by the time we were leaving and it seemed like it was just one server. But she rocked and I think they just did have as many reservations since it was rainy earlier so it might have been unexpected.
Alexis S — Google review
It’s a cute spot and I really enjoyed the wine along with the olives! The reason why I wouldn’t necessarily give this place a 5 star was because I wasn’t as fascinated with the food options, it was a very tiny spot and the kitchen is very close to the tables so our eyes began stinging after an hour from the steam and cooking oils. Would recommend to try for those who haven’t ever been, but not my favourite spot.

Laowai is a captivating cocktail bar located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown, offering an immersive experience that transports visitors to 1920s Shanghai. The elaborate ruse creates an ambiance reminiscent of speakeasies during the Prohibition era. Additionally, its sister lounge, Bagheera, evokes the spirit of Rudyard Kipling-era adventures in India. Visitors praise Laowai for its excellent cocktails and food, as well as the unique stories behind each drink.
The #7 dumplings are a must! Such a neat place and open late on the weekends. We loved the decor of the storefront contrasted with the elevated speakeasy behind the door. Unique menu with detailed inspirations - a fun spot, for small groups of friends.

Positive. The room is warm and pretty. Negative. All the rest. This idea of exclusivity is a buzz kill. Especially once you’re in. And the place is empty after them making you wait 10 minutes (see pics). They give you the password which is “7” but what’s the point? Notice most of the room pics and the place is empty but they make you wait outside as if it’s packed. The cocktail I had was a Head Over Heels. They try really hard here at being inventive but the drink tasted as muddy as it looks. The menu trying to be creative and perhaps whimsical, doesn’t roll in a dimly lit room where you can barely read. Too much irrelevant content that doesn’t get you to a cocktail quicker. Last I checked, meet the customers needs asap and get them engaged and reorder by personal service, not some wordy cocktail menu. It doesn’t work. Seriously pass on this. There are far better cocktails all over the city. Go there and forget Laowai’s gimmick.

Always a great place to go and have clandestine catch ups. I'm such a sucker for intentional design and everything has had so much thought behind it. From the space, to the uniforms, the menu design and the cocktail/food recipes. Everything is fantastically presented. Though I do have to agree with some other reviews where the flavours of the cocktails can be improved on. I wish every cocktail was balanced well, but that's a gamble I'm happy especially with the helpful staff and beautiful space.
Tanya W — Google review
Atmosphere: 8/10 Located in Vancouver’s Chinatown—street-level can feel sketchy, but once inside, the speakeasy vibe takes over. Stylish, immersive design with thoughtful elements everywhere. The backbar is extremely well stocked (60+ baijiu varieties!), though the layout is visually average. Music volume was just right for conversations. Drinks: 6.5/10 Recommendation: – The menu concept, based on Chinese inventions, is creative and very well executed—each cocktail includes flavor indicators (strength, sweetness, sourness, bitterness) and ingredient details. It’s one of the most thoughtfully designed menus in town. However, the cocktails themselves were variable. “Fury Road” was baijiu-based but not well balanced. Glassware felt average, no coasters, and garnish/presentation ranged from basic to unique. Service: 8/10 Water served on arrival. Team was friendly and professional. Prices felt standard. Overall service experience leaned solid but stopped short of premium.

This has been my all time favorite cocktail bar. The incredible journey each cocktail took me through so many different flavor profiles and textures that left me in awe. I came with a group of 3, which we all ordered separate drinks - each of the drinks were immaculate - so much that we had intended only tasting one drink, but we were easily convinced to stay and try the rest of their menu. Typically, I would find one drink at a cocktail bar that would stand out - however Laowai impressed me across the board. The staff were so sincere and made our experience so incredible. The presentation of the menu was so unique - they curated the menu through story telling of a book, which definitely added a layer to the experience. I'm excited for them change their cocktail menus again and have an entirety novel experience. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Go experience it, try it out for yourself, it's worth the wait. Shout-out to Vanessa and Willow for the incredible experience.

the best speakeasy with the best service . I couldent say enough about this spot , it is not only sexy/romantic in vibe and atmosphere but also intriguing and captivating in what you can learn while you drink . ask for baijiu and hopefully you are served by the coolest lady this country is graced to have , El Jay will take you down roads and lanes through chinese tales that no canadian could top ,explaining the intricately complexity of baijiu if I could give her 20 stars I would , such an absolute treat . thank you a million times

I went to Laowei as a spontaneous last minute outing with my brother and his partner and the service was outstanding. Willow was super accommodating and made sure we had a great time. When describing my preference in drinks, Willow suggested a cocktail that was perfect to what we were looking for. She was consistently checking on us and made it a very fun experience by conversing and relating to our conversation. Willow and the team made delicious drinks while providing exceptional service. They left an amazing first impression and we will certainly be returning soon!

Nestled in the heart of Gastown, Pourhouse Restaurant offers a unique experience with its century-old warehouse setting and a 38-foot bar. The venue exudes an old-world charm with its reclaimed Douglas Fir wooden bar, gold leaf details, and cheerful waistcoated bartenders. It's known for its creative cocktails, seasonal fare, and one of the best burgers in the city.
we came here very late, 40 mins before closing but they still let us stay for longer (even after it closed!) and service was still so patient and kind. the scotch egg was really phenomenal, ESPECIALLY the aioli it came with. it was slightly spicy, super tangy and salty and sweet and had a hint of paprika, and it was just so addicting. the pourhouse burger was also really great — a bit small for the price, but really high quality. the pork belly was crispy and crackling and had a smoky flavour, and the patty was so thick, tender, and juicy it was literally dripping. the caramelized onions were a bit cold though. i think the burger for per se social corner is better, but this was still fantastic. the truffle potato tots are a MUST get here — they’re super crispy and dense with potato (not airy) and you actually get quite a lot for a side. the apple crumble was very disappointing though. it wasn’t very “crumble”, and mostly just apples. the ice cream melted fast and i honestly didn’t love it.

4/5 Just tried 2 drinks and 1 snacks, the sausage they made for Dutch egg was pretty good, I liked it. The old fashioned was nice but the second one the bar tender made, which taste a little like whiskey sour was really good.

Some fantastic vibes, this place has got. The place has got some seriously well thought out decor and menus. It was a journey going through the menu and just looking around the place and the people. Oh and the smells! The cheeseburger randomly spawned at the table next to us and the aromas practically forced us to order one. The drinks were well made and came in fun glassware too!

My husband and I had a fantastic evening here. The Cuban cocktails were top-notch, as was the Cuban sandwich (it had another name on the menu, but I can't remember it). I just have to thank the cameraman for his great service, and the chef and bartender; they did an excellent job. This is coming from a Cuban who loved spending a little time on her beautiful island. Also, thank you for the music. 🥰

Came here for happy hour before a show. We decided to come here because of the good reviews, but was disappointed. We had: Single Smash Burgers ($10) -The phots that we saw, looked nothing like the ones we had. The one we had reminded me of a McDonald's cheeseburger, so I'm a bit confused as to someone saying it was the best burger they had. Although I'm not too sure if the happy hour burger may be completely different from the burger on their regular menu. Truffle Tots ($12) - Super cheesy and quite the Truffle taste on the cheese. Beef Tartare ($16) - This was not part of the happy hour menu, but it was worth a try for us. The beef was diced in bigger chunks, but rather bland.

I often come to Gastown in search of good food, and usually I’m never disappointed — but this time was the exception. We were just looking for a quick bite before heading downtown to catch a musical. The food was… okay, nothing too exciting. The burger ranked somewhere between McDonald’s and A&W. Maybe this place is more about the drinks than the food. Either way, it did the job of filling us up!
Ann C — Google review
Solid atmosphere, especially when they have live music! Great playlist otherwise. Food was good. Not out of this world but good takes on classic dishes and surprisingly cheap happy hour prices. Service was under average. No smiles, on the longer edge of wait times, charged extra for a few thin slices of bread. On top of that, the lowest tip option is at 18% on top of taxes. Let's just say the $30 dollar tip left a sour taste in our mouths.

Definitely a favourite sushi spot in Vancouver! The staff are friendly, the menu has something for everyone, and the food is absolutely delicious. As a party of five, we got three sushi platters and some sashimi. The scallop sashimi is a must-try, but all of the dishes are great. Personally, I thought the non-alcoholic drinks are too strong (in flavour) for my liking. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this restaurant is a five-star experience

A Beautiful, Memorable Birthday at The Lobby Lounge & RawBar My recent birthday celebration (last evening) with my wife at The Lobby Lounge & RawBar at the Fairmont Vancouver was an absolutely beautiful and memorable evening. From the moment we stepped inside, the experience was elevated by the exceptional staff who made us feel truly special. The evening began with a wonderfully warm welcome from Winona at the front desk, whose kindness set the perfect tone. We were then looked after by Crista, our fantastic server, whose amazing presence and helpful guidance made selecting our dishes a pure pleasure. The food was nothing short of spectacular. We began with a warm glass of sake and a breathtaking amalgamation of flavors in the maki rolls. The 'WAGYU BEEF & PRAWN' and the 'LOBBY LOUNGE' rolls were both exquisite, a testament to the kitchen's culinary talent. We concluded our meal with the delightful Nori taco and a Pan Dan drink. My sincerest compliments to the kitchen team for a truly wonderful meal. And a very special thank you again to Crista and Winona. Thanks for making my birthday a night to remember!

Food Poisoning from Sushi Bar – Histamine Intoxication Risk, Poor Handling, and Gaslighting Response I strongly advise future guests to read the negative reviews before choosing to dine at this hotel’s sushi bar — they are, unfortunately, accurate reflections of the experience. After finishing a late spa appointment last night, I opted to dine at this sushi bar in the hotel lobby instead of ordering room service. That decision directly led to acute gastroenteritis caused by histamine intoxication — a condition commonly linked to improperly stored raw fish, especially species like tuna and mackerel. Symptoms typically begin within 10 minutes to an hour, and I experienced immediate diarrhea, nausea, and skin rashes soon after eating. Before ordering, the chef made a strange remark about the only visibly fresh-looking item on display — a piece of bluefin tuna — warning me that it was “much more expensive.” I found his tone suspicious and moved from the bar counter to a table. When the sushi arrived, the fish appeared visibly discolored — greyish and oxidized. I removed the darkest pieces and only ate the parts that seemed less spoiled, yet still suffered severe symptoms. What’s worse is how the staff responded: · At first, they were dismissive and cold. · When I insisted on addressing the issue, both the restaurant manager and waiter tried to shift the blame to my breakfast, claiming it couldn’t have been their food. This is not only unprofessional but gaslighting at its finest. I’ve yet to receive any follow-up or investigation outcome from the hotel, despite being told someone would reach out. Meanwhile, the allergic reaction following the food poisoning caused a hard swollen lump above my upper lip. a textbook sign of histamine poisoning. To make matters worse, their staff pressured me to sign off on the bill before the issue was even investigated — a shockingly rude and inappropriate demand. If you’re looking for fresh sashimi or sushi during your stay, stay far away from this restaurant. All you’ll get here is food poisoning and a manipulative attitude.
Claire — Google review
As a guest of the Fairmont Pacific Rim, the “LL” beckoned. Often crowded, lively, there appeared to be a draw, a reason to sample the fare. I encourage consideration of the word “raw” in “Rawbar”. Sushi is an art form. The “artistry” of LL appears to be the thoughtful organization and presentation of uncooked seafood. The $6 Diet Coke managed to be watery, a presumed result of an imbalanced fountain mix. I shudder to think it was a “raw” Diet Coke. While the 2 stars awarded the food may seem harsh, the “sweet shrimp” was fresh, if void of flavor, and the interesting element was the marinated, very thin slices of cucumber. There was even a generous portion of shrimp, 8 in all; 3 pieces were expected (according to the menu). Sadly, when soft drinks rival the price of an offering, one wonders. Clearly, the intent of LL is to be another in a series of “trendy” places, to see and be seen, rather than any pretense or consideration of the offerings. In fairness, this diner did not sample an actual “sushi” offering. Candidly, after THIS experience, there is NO reason for a return visit.

Wanted to try the bento lunch with my friend and it did not disappoint. My friend ordered the sashimi bento and I, the miso sablefish bento. Sashimi was fresh and I especially loved the flavourful aburi sushi and sablefish. Good portion and well-priced. The only room for improvement area is that the miso soup can be served reasonably hot instead of lukewarm. When we mentioned this to our server Jess, she was quick to offer us another round of miso soup or dessert on the house. We did not plan on getting dessert but ended up getting the peach raspberry tart with sorbet to share. It was so pretty and delicious - light and airy, not too sweet, with a good amount of fresh fruit. We will have to make sure to leave room for dessert in our future visits. Had a very enjoyable lunch and the friendly, sincere, thoughtful, and attentive service really topped it off!

Gerry’s Breakfast……….. went here for breakfast. Read the menu, decided on Gerry’s breakfast as it seemed like a large plate offering an omelette, fruit, toast & hashbrowns. This place was PERFECT! The live music , atmosphere, fellow patrons , staff , food all exceeded our expectations and I definitely echo the positive reviews left prior to mine! Shout out to the owner Joey for making this birthday super special ❤️ PS: EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious AND affordable but if you’re with a group of friends , make sure you get the FLAMINGO cocktail #FlamingoPosse 🦩 sure to make the evening unforgettable !! 🎉

They charge cover, $5/person, which isn’t bad given that you get live music. The space is quite tight, but they do a good job of finding a table for you before they resort to standing only. First, tater tots are amazing! We ordered it twice because it was perfect to match with music and booze. They make interesting cocktails, and some twists on originals. They’re well made and tasty. They do take a long time to get to your order for drinks, so be prepared. Also our server disappeared for a long while so we couldn’t get our second round order in until much later in the night. Overall, still a fun night if you like live music and drinks.

a nice little place to have fun cocktails and snacks with your friends. If you like sweet cocktails like me, you'll like Paloma. The tofu need more salt. the server was super nice & everything else is good! check the place out if you don't know where to go

Great stop along the way! We had a nice time here, early evening. They have fun cocktails and quite the selection is whiskey! Their whiskey room in the back is no longer open for seating.

Joey at the bar knows his stuff and knows how to make you feel welcome. This was a place we stumbled into on our treck around Gastown but seeing it and experiencing the location was an excellent lucky break. They even have Moosehead! An East coast beer and a taste of Halifax. Gotta give it 5 stars!

This is my third time coming to Clough Club and I would recommend it to anyone in the gastown area who want affordable cocktails, draft, and specials. The building is old with a lot of character, the way they decorated is chic, classy and unique. The happy hour prices amazed me! I was able to try a plethora of delicious cocktails without paying an arm and a leg. The service was also top notch! I cannot wait to return and try the food.

The menu features locally sourced food, making it an ideal spot to unwind after exploring Vancouver's attractions.
Great atmosphere, selection of beers, music and cocktails. The service was quick and personable, Pouya is a really nice guy! Will be back as it is a pretty chill spot in the old part of Gastown. Speakeasy vibes.

It was my first time coming here kind of by accident. Went in right as they opened and there was a decent happy hour menu from 4-6. The beer selection was pretty good a ton of options on tap that I don’t usually see. Mixed drinks were good as well , especially liked the whiskey sour. The other one I tried was a blended mango margarita and it was just perfect not overly sweet. Also tried calamari and it was tasty but found the portion to be slightly small for the price. Service was super friendly and orders came out really fast.

We came to the Halloween party downstairs at Alibi Room last night and everything was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the whole service team was super attentive to every detail. We ordered a few cocktails along with Alibi’s incredible French fries — seriously one of the best I’ve ever had! Everyone in our group loved their drinks, crafted perfectly by the talented bartender. A special thanks to Pouya, our energetic server, who made our night even better and turned this visit into such a great experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon — highly recommend this place! 🎃🍸
Ethan M — Google review
Our friends recommended this place, but it seems to have changed ownership and unfortunately wasn’t quite what we expected. On the positive side, the sweet potato fries were perfection and the vegan spicy mayo was absolutely delicious. However, the “deluxe nachos” were disappointing—a small plate of chips with just a handful of cheese in the middle, very few toppings, and no dip (we had to ask, and were given mayo instead). The atmosphere also felt a bit off, with no music during the first half of our visit, and the service started off rushed but then shifted to being inattentive. There are definitely some highlights here, but with a few tweaks to the menu execution, atmosphere, and consistency of service, this could be a much stronger dining experience.
Laine F — Google review
Went to the Halloween event last weekend, the event was lots of fun, hosts and entertainment were really good and well planned. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the drinks, they charge cocktail price (I’m not against paying $20 for a good cocktail), but the bartenders clearly had no idea about how to mix and the ingredients were of terrible quality. We ordered mojitos which tasted like pure artificial lemonade mixed with soda (& no mint). We tried the featured Halloween black widow, and the bartender didn’t even bother to serve it in new ice and he served it with the same ice that he mixed it with (which was melted already). We have been at the alibi years ago and drinks were great, such a shame that it’s changed so much because it’s a really nice place.

I heard about this place on an LGBTQ app and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It’s a chill, low key spot to meet and pick up guys, with a discreet bathroom downstairs. The “AirDrop game” here is hilarious: set your phone to receive, give yourself a flirty name, and you’ll start getting “below the belt” pics. The fun part is trying to guess who in the restaurant sent them. Let’s just it wasn’t too hard to scan the room for the only dark man there.. or was it? 😂 10/10 I’ll be coming back whenever the mood strikes

The Alibi Room used to be a destination restaurant when we visited Vancouver. We were super disappointed this time. Our server was very good, friendly and attentive. Beer was good but their beer list used to be incredible and has significantly dwindled. The food and atmosphere was the most disappointing. Food used to be creative and exceptionally delicious now bland and didn't appear to be house made like before. Specifically the veggie burger and fries.

Boasting both indoor and outdoor seating, this vibrant lounge offers a stunning view and a relaxed atmosphere. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a pool table, bookcase, and rooftop garden. The extensive menu features upscale Japanese izakaya-style snacks and drinks, including an impressive selection of sake.
I absolutely loved the vibe of this rooftop bar/lounge connected to all the fun of Parq Casino and JW/Douglas hotels. Cool signature cocktails and some zero-proof options. I found the service here to be the best part!! Rob, my bartender was simply great. He had awesome recommendation on drinks and things to do in the area and was great to chat with. Will definitely be back!!

Sleek bar tucked inside the Parq Casino and Douglas Hotel. The drinks and izakaya-style food is good, but the star of the show is the sleek atmosphere. Great place to go with a group of friends for a more formal night out.

We had a great time at D6. Kudos to the talented Elysa behind the bar. I go all over the city for cocktails and I have to say she makes the best Negroni with a slight twist and espresso martini. I am super picky with my cocktails. She was personable and you can tell she is so passionate about bartending. Thank you for a great night.

We had an amazing time at D/6! After our conference my colleague and I decided to come in for a quick cocktail. I decided on D/6 as I knew the ambiance, service and cocktails would be 5-star. We were enthusiastically welcomed in by Elysa. She was also the one who created our mouthwatering cocktails! Elysa had great recommendations and convinced us to try some cocktails out of our comfort-zone which we were very thankful for. Keep up the great work!

What I love about this place is the atmosphere! Good music, a place to dance, and a pool table. Perfect for a bigger party! It could take some time for the server to bring the drinks as it gets crowded but that’s okay. There’s an 18% gratuity on party more than 10.

Enjoyed a Thursday night fire show at D/6 with the girls. Had a couple of drinks, their seafood platter, and their lettuce wraps. Service from the server was mediocre as she didn’t seem to be happy to assist us, but I had a better experience with other staff - especially the bartender. The food was not bad, but I have had better & fresher seafood elsewhere. The bulgogi lettuce wraps were good but nothing to come back for. I would say the ambience, the fire show, and the drinks are their best features. Would come again for a birthday or celebration!

The Chickadee Room is a trendy spot located in Vancouver's Chinatown, known for its innovative cocktails and cool vibes. It is the brainchild of the team behind Juke Fried Chicken and Beetbox, offering a unique experience with build-your-own cocktails and creatively named drinks. The venue features nightly live music and also offers the option to order delicious food from its sister restaurant, Juke Fried Chicken.
Such a fun spot! I loved the cool 80s vibe — neon signs, colorful lighting, and that playful retro aesthetic. What makes it even more interesting is that just behind the curtain, they share a kitchen with a small Mexican joint that looks way more casual (okay, maybe even a bit sketchy) — but this side of the venue feels completely different: stylish, clean, and well-designed. I had the walnut salad and it was honestly delicious. It’s cool that both places share the same kitchen and menu, but the atmosphere here made the whole experience feel way more elevated.

I had never been to this location before, but I was craving the loaded fries and popcorn chicken from Juke Chicken and I'm so glad they share a kitchen! The cocktails and the design of the space and menus really were so inspired. I was so glad they let me take a menu home! I think the recipe for the loaded fries changed from when I first had them, but THEY HAVE IMPROVED SO MUCH and they were already so fantastic to begin with. I appreciate that they have a Cocktail for a Cause menu where proceeds are donated to the Urban Native Youth Association, but I was sold on the Dark Matter with the way David described it and it did not disappoint. I'll have to come back for one of the cocktail for a cause drinks!

Visiting Vancouver for work I was thrilled to be recommended this place and had an excellent time. Everything from the theme (lots of film and culturally references in the decor and menu items) and the neon-crested ambience was a total vibe and I wish I this spot was in my city. The staff were cheerful and helpful and took great care of us in our booth. Also the All-dressed fries were maybe some of the most tasty fries I've ever had (and I love a fry); also the chicken nuggets were fantastically seasoned. Will be thinking fondly of my session here and look forward to coming back next time im in town. 10/10

Absolutely Blown Away! We had the most fantastic time at Chickadee! The entire experience was top-notch, but our servers, Kelsey and Nalanie, truly made our night. They were both absolutely amazing—so attentive, friendly, and had the best recommendations. Total rockstars! And let's talk about the food and drinks. The chicken was delicious—perfectly crispy, juicy, and everything you could want. Paired with the cocktails, it was a perfect meal. Every drink we tried was absolutely on point; creative, balanced, and expertly made. We can't wait to come back. A huge thank you to Kelsey, Nalanie, and the whole team for such a memorable night out!

A favourite location for long catch-up chats over many drinks and excellent small bites. The atmosphere is intimate, without feeling too cramped or crowded. The rotating special drinks are a great excuse to bring a friend or two regularly to try something new, and the staff are always attentive, helpful and friendly. If you're looking for a new spot to be remembered, or to make some new memories, this is a great, tucked away gem.

Indian restaurant
Restaurant
Vij's is a renowned Indian restaurant in Vancouver, known for its innovative and lively dining experience. Run by Vikram Vij and his ex-wife Meeru Dhalwala, the restaurant offers a unique take on South Asian cuisine using local ingredients. The menu features creative dishes like lamb "popsicles" in creamy curry and British Columbia rainbow trout in coconut masala.
I would rate this experience as an exceptional one when it comes to food flavors and service in the entire North American. The owner Chef Vikram Vij personally welcomed us and the food is prepared fresh by an all women team. For starters we had: 1. Vegetarian Spring Rolls 2. Paneer Momos 3. Crispy chicken with a special sauce 4. Jackfruit Sheekh Kebabs Entrees: 1. Paneer Kofta curry with special Naans 2. Fish in a gravy 3. Lamb chops marinated for 19 hours in a special wine and fenugreek sauce. 4. Vegetables Biryani Dessert: Hot Gulab Jamun Creamy Malai Kulfi with Rose petals All ingredients used are local that are grown within the radius of 40 miles of the restaurant and the prices are great value for one. Decor is nice and can take upto 190 persons. Highly recommended if you are in Vancouver.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Restaurant: Vij’s, Vancouver I used to work with a manager and colleagues from India, so I gradually developed a taste for Indian cuisine. That’s why I was excited to try Vij’s, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. ⚠️ Here are the biggest letdowns: 1. Masala Chai – I ordered it expecting a rich, authentic flavor, but it was very bland, tastes like Starbucks Chai Tea Latte. 2. Garlic Naan – This was the biggest letdown. It tasted no different from the pre-made naans you get at the supermarket. Honestly, it’s like going to a Chinese restaurant, ordering fried rice, and realizing it tastes just like frozen microwave fried rice – a huge letdown. 3. Rose-flavored Ice Cream Dessert – I thought it would include Gulab Jamun, but it ended up just being rose-flavored ice cream with a syrupy sweetness. Really underwhelming. ✅ A few things that were decent: • Mango Lassi had a nice flavor • Lamb popsicles were also okay I spent CAD $75 in total, plus a $5 tip. The service was mediocre — the server forgot my Mango Lassi and I had to ask again later to finally get it. 🌟 The only real positive? They accept ApplePay
Hao C — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying Vij’s after hearing so much buzz — the service and atmosphere truly lived up to the reputation. The staff were attentive, warm, and made the experience feel special from the moment we arrived. The space itself is beautiful, modern, and welcoming. That said, the food just didn’t land for me. I ordered the better butter chicken, and what I received was watery, under-seasoned, and lacked the richness and depth of flavor that typically defines the dish. When I asked about it, I was told that this was how it’s traditionally made — but after checking in with Indian friends, they all strongly disagreed. It felt like I was being gaslit into thinking I misunderstood a dish I’ve had many times before. In general, the flavors throughout the meal felt muted and overly westernized — not necessarily inauthentic, but lacking the boldness, warmth, and complexity I associate with great Indian cuisine. For the price point, I expected much more in terms of flavor and execution. I really wanted to love it, and I respect the concept and the legacy of the restaurant. But unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. Amazing service and ambiance, but the food didn’t justify the hype — or the bill. Great hospitality, underwhelming food.
TinaG — Google review
Tried the lamb popsicles, “better” butter chicken, samosa, rice pudding, naan, and cocktails. The lamb was high-quality and flavorful, though the sauce was thin and yogurt-forward. The butter chicken was clean and organic, but too westernized for my taste. Samosa was the standout — crisp, well-spiced, and delicious. Rice pudding was light and satisfying. Cocktails were generous and well made. Service was excellent — attentive staff and a manager who genuinely cares. 💸 Price-wise, very reasonable. You’re getting a full dine-in experience in a beautiful space, with thoughtful food and great hospitality. In today’s world where a basic sandwich costs 10-20$, this felt like excellent value. If you’re after bold, traditional flavors, this may not be it. But for a clean, upscale Indian meal — Vij’s stands out.
Alper A — Google review
I saw it was rated somewhat best in town with Michillen logo. It was a weekend dinner and place was packed. Chef are nice and help out around the restaurant as well greeting us etc. Service and atmosphere were great. Looks great for dating and casual dinner. Food. I got recommendations from the very nice waitress and order the perfect portions for us However, the taste or quality isn’t what I expected. Honestly I am not Indian and I am comparing to what I had tried around the globe on the taste. Seems not as tasty as I thought. The crackers are pretty much gonna expire taste The chicken is too rough and touch. Spices is good by the way. Just one of them are too salty to me. The main is the goat curry with bread and rice. The curry isn’t the flavor I was looking at. Bread is a bit over toasted Well, I can only say may be this is the taste of other parts of India as I know when I work in India that the taste and spices are different in different parts of the country. So, that’s about it. I gave this as comparison to the other 2 Indian place I had in Vancouver which is in Granville street. Thanks

Amazing Food and Thoughtful Service Visited Vij’s recently and had such a great experience. The food was incredible — I ordered the Portobello Mushroom and Vij’s Favourite Chicken Snack, both of which were packed with flavour and really well-prepared. The mushroom dish was rich and satisfying, and the chicken snack lived up to its name — crispy, tender, and full of bold spices. I also want to shout out Rohan, who took care of our table. He was friendly, professional, and really knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations made a big difference, and you could tell he genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal. It’s always refreshing when staff are both approachable and passionate about what they do. All in all, it was a great evening — delicious food, warm atmosphere, and attentive service. Definitely planning to come back!
Rishabh S — Google review
I’ve had a decent amount of Indian food, but this is easily the freshest I’ve ever had before. It was so fresh, I wouldn’t be surprised if you told me that the ingredients were fashioned that morning. The naan was excellent. It had a texture that I’ve never experienced with naan before, and had a great depth of flavor to it. While being buttery, it did not given the impression of being greasy like many other naans that get carried by the butter they are coated with. Ironically, the chicken vindaloo was the weakest item. I wouldn’t order it again. Otherwise, the food experience was great. I’ll certainly be making my way back when I’m in the area again.

Totally lived up to the hype! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was excellent with amazing flavors. Our lunch waiter at the Vancouver fish company highly recommended this restaurant and so did our bar tender at Junes. Our exceptional waitress, Sue, helped us pick our dishes and she was spot on. We had the chicken schnitzel and the grilled paneer skewer appetizers and the fish curry (Goan Style Halibut), naan and rice for our main. It was plenty for the two of us. We also appreciated the personal visit from Chef VJ. Very kind.

Absolute banger of a dinner! Jess and Sarah (I think), we're amazing in helping us select dishes, expand the offerings to fit the head count. While they do offer a tasting menu we decide to just order multiple dishes to share and managed to eat all of the desserts. This was the best meal we had while visiting Vancouver.

Enjoyed a wonderful night at Pidgin, the staff were all so warm and welcoming. We opted for the tasting menu and were seated right next to the kitchen where we got a front row seat to all the magical creations. The food was divine, even tried a few flavors we have never had before. Also a bonus was that they extended an offer to make the tasting menu fully vegan, even though their website only mentions vegetarian. They were so accommodating and we all had a great night! Will be back to try the 10pm burger time!

This place has a lot of mixed reviews. Not many fine dining Asian fusion places so naturally as a person who has tried a bunch of Michelin star restaurants and all the high end places of Vancouver I had to try out. The food was mostly pretty but the taste and coherence of the flavours was atrocious. 250$ meal was the worst i ever had unfortunately. First off oysters are oysters I guess, fresh and normal. Duck was super chewy but was good, you practically had to gnaw at it out go for a full bite. Octopus was super chewy overcooked. Papaya salad was strange… peanut sauce with papaya but no meat so was like having half a salad roll Tofu was petty awful, inch thick layer of xo sauce oil with some soft tofu and mushrooms, super greasy and just tasted salty Beef empanadas were not edible, wayyyyyyy too salty like they dropped a tea spoon of salt into a tiny 11$ empanada. Trout was undercooked, not flaky, skin so chewy and not pan fried so it was like chewing gum. Flavour of the sauce did not work at all with the dish. Beef cheek was cooked perfectly but they literally forgot to season it so tasted like nothing. Whereas the rendang was overly salty and pungent. Dessert was good, ice cream had good flavour but the meringue was way too sweet for it. Overall a very poor experience considering for just a bit more you could have Anna Lena or Burdock instead. Maybe if they slashed the price 75% then it would meet the quality it deserves. But I guess the food looks pretty

Generally speaking the food is delicious, especially the sauce!!!! Tbh for the price point, i’d give it 4.6 stars We got kimchi croquettes(2) , scallops, duck empanada(1), sablefish, and pork belly rice bowl. Everything is good except for the pork belly rice bowl; the seasoning is ok and the pork is kinda dry.

Absolute STUNNER of a meal. My partner is vegan and I am quite an adventurous meat eater. They had plenty of options for both of us including a vegan and non-vegan tasting. We opted for A la Cart. The roti is a must have with a savory coconut curry sauce. The foie unagi bowl has a whopping portion of foie gras and is extremely hearty and tasty. Would also highly recommend the eggplant skewers. The green papaya salad was very good, and has an umami-rich vegan "fish" sauce caramel dressing. Booked same day on a Monday and this place definitely deserves to be busier during the week. Make sure to order a Sake flight while you dine, the staff really know their stuff. 10/10 food and service!

We tried their tasting menu and their portion was great. I really liked their oyster, great fusion flavour. If you don't want to get their tasting menu, I highly recommend their sablefish. The fish is cooked just right, and the flavor really got in there. The fois gras rice was okay, but the sauce was a bit too much for me, and the salt kinda builds up at the end. If you're not into rich food, this dish might not be for you. Overall, this was a fun experience.

The on-site Whiskey Shebeen boasts the largest selection of whiskeys in Vancouver. While it maintains its traditional roots with Irish standbys like Guinness and Jameson, it also embraces modernity by offering local craft beers and an extensive single malt Scotch list.

Chinatown may not be the first place you'd think to look for an Irish pub, but this one is well worth visiting. Reliable and low-key bar (uhm, their playlists are EXCELLENT!!! lots of great 80s music!!!) and the food is very above-par. I cant wait for the pot pie to land again on their fall menu. Thank you 🙏🏻🌈🙏🏻💕💯💯💯 Ps i had more photos from last year of their pot pie and bangers and mash on the old phone... may have to dig those up and post bc they were beautiful 🌈🙏🏻💯🍸💕🌿

A traditional authentic Irish Pub in the heart of Chinatown. Lots 9f Irish folks inside if thst is an indication for you. Also great selection of beers and drinks for those that don't understand the creamy appeal of a pint O Guinness

The Irish Heather is the best pub in Vancouver hands down. The staff are amazing, great atmosphere and I love that there aren't any TV screens everywhere. Great food and drink menu and lovely vegan options. Great place for a quiet pint or a special occasion and a lovely piece of home hidden in downtown Vancouver. Thank you.

They have enclosed booth seating area that can fit up to 7 people, which is perfect for when it gets loud and still want to have an intimate experience. Great serving size and staff is nice and friendly. Fish and chips were phenomenal.

There is an extensive selection of whiskies from across the globe, accompanied by a diverse array of meticulously crafted cocktails. The pricing is quite reasonable, with a vast assortment to choose from. The service is exceptionally warm and attentive, and the ambiance is inviting and congenial.

La Mezcaleria is a trendy and vibrant restaurant that offers elevated Mexican cuisine, including breakfast options, along with an extensive selection of mezcal, tequila, and cocktails. As an elegant offshoot of La Taqueria pinche taco shops, it attracts crowds who appreciate the finest Mexican flavors. The menu features dishes like barbecued tamarind squid and Fraser Valley duck confit tostadas with fruit mole designed to complement the smoky agave spirit from Oaxaca region.
The tacos were full of flavour!! I especially loved the mushroom one, it was so good! The Queso Fundido was more of a unique experience, served in a special bowl with lots of melted cheese. The presentation was amazing, and while it's a bit overpriced, it's definitely worth trying!

Dropped by for drinks and a little snack at La Mezcaleria due to the good vibes emanating from the restaurant onto the street. You can scan a QR code to see the menu. I didn’t love the churros as they were a bit dry and the sauce provided wasn’t the usual dulce de Leche or chocolate but something else entirely. The drinks were pretty but not too memorable. Bar and table seatings available.

Food was phenomenal here! Drinks were really good too. La Mezcaleria has a great vibe located in a great spot on Commercial. Food and atmosphere get 5/5 but unfortunately the service was quite poor. This brought my overall rating down to 4/5. We unfortunately had to wait quite a while to order drinks, food and even get our bill. The place wasn't very busy when we were there. The food made up for the slow service though - it was delicious!

I have gone here a couple times since I’ve moved. They food is outstanding and the portions are very generous. The staff are super friendly and are really helpful with recommending dishes. Our server Dhayes was amazing she really made us feel welcome and recommended some amazing dishes. We had the Zarandeado Shrimps, Enchiladas Verdes and Guacamole. All of them were just delicious ! The Baja Fish Burrito is such a filling and delicious dish definitely for lunch time on a warm day.

Was recommended by a friend. Very good food, fresh ingredients and lovely staff. You definitely have to try their Pozole Blanco soup, It’s the best! I would definitely recommend this place, very good vibe and atmosphere.

the food here is ok. its a bit on the pricey side for what you’re getting. the vibe of the restaurant is nice although a bit small so not great for large groups. i had a party of 6 so the tip was included in the bill which is fine as that’s standard practice but the service was nonexistent so having to tip for that was kinda meh.

I absolutely loved this restaurant! It's got a slightly old-school vibe, no unnecessary frills or fakery, which I really appreciate. The staff are incredibly welcoming, especially Ivan—what a true gentleman! He took the time to explain everything to me and suggested an amazing dish that was genuinely superb. I even took a video of the place and I'm sharing it as a Reel on my Instagram. You seriously have to check this spot out, even if it's just for one visit!

Bayside Lounge offers a lively atmosphere with global dishes, small plates, and cocktails. The lounge occupies prime real estate and has a dive-like hideaway feel with a circular sunken bar reminiscent of old Vegas. While the service during happy hour may be lacking due to crowding, the cocktails are highly praised by knowledgeable staff. The music can be loud due to live DJs, making it more suitable for celebratory gatherings than quiet conversations.
One of the best venues for a drink at sunset in Vancouver. It’s a classic retro vibe and super comfy. We had great service. We were a party of six with reservations. We ate and drank for three hours, and had separate cheques. A great all-round experience for our group. Not a wide variety of beers on tap, but the Hoyne’s Dark Matter was good. Highly recommend 🍻

Came for a date night tonight as we had been recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. The cocktails were delicious, and the vibes inside were great. Also the server, I think it was Rabia was great. She gave some really good recommendations and was extremely friendly. Will definitely be coming back

We were moved to a nice spot near the parameter so we had a good view of the water. Server was very kind and checked in often. The Bae’s Tote Bag was the highlight! So cute and fun for us for a girls night out. Highly recommend for the vibes and views!

Great experience. Such a lovely vibe by the water. Food and drinks were really delicious, and service was amazing. We had Neil, and he was so attentive and helpful. The service was amazing. We had three staff members attend to us, and we felt very welcomed. They were apologetic after mixing up our table, but that didn’t bother me. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt accommodated. Despite being very busy, we were given just the right amount of attention. The food was great! I especially loved the cheese fingers with the tomato bisque, the quattro dip, and the steak, which was cooked perfectly. My family and fiancé loved the experience as well. The view was also beautiful. The only downside was the noise. Since the space is circular, we figured the sound carried more than usual. It seemed like the shape of the room contributed to the overall volume rather than the crowd itself. Great spot to watch the fireworks!

Bayside has one of the best view of English Bay! Their staff is also incredible. Majo is kind and attentive and never fails to deliver exceptional service at the bar. I would highly recommend coming in during sunset!

Amazing view and ambiance. Love the update to the venue. Seating is super comfy and the drinks for happy hour (m-f 12-6pm, sat/sun 3-6pm) are well made and inexpensive. Had one hiccup, glass was chipped but Jamie made it right immediately and comped the drink. If you're ever in the area and want the best atmosphere with view of English bay this *is* the spot you're looking for.

Published on Main is an upscale restaurant known for its innovative and carefully sourced cuisine, set in retro-chic surroundings. In 2022, it received numerous awards in Canada, including the number one spot in Canada's top 100 restaurants and a one-star award in Vancouver's inaugural Michelin guide. Securing a reservation can be challenging, but the experience of Vancouver-style modern fine dining is worth the effort.
We came here for dinner during springtime. We ordered their famous chips & dips and the fried maitake. They were actually just basic snacks. However, the texture was perfect for both. The dips were beyond expectation. Then, we ordered the gnocchi and halibut for the main dishes. The gnocchi had good and creamy tomato paste. Meanwhile, the halibut was sooooooooooooo delicious. It was very much of my taste. So fresh, light, and moist. The selection of the seasonal veggies was also perfect. Great customer service & cozy ambience.

Love their menu selection. The service was top notch. We went for a birthday dinner, and the server definitely made it even more memorable. The octopus was a fun dish. I loved the paired red wine. They provide housemade candy with the bill, which I’d love to purchase if it’s available in a package ☺️Since they rotate the menu, we’ll definitely be coming back 💛
Rachael K — Google review
Service was excellent. They have a great rotation of staff coming by the table to ask if we are doing alright and to refresh wine. They knew the menu well and explained each dish as they were served. The interior of the restaurant is also nice and spaced out well. We sat beside the entrance but felt quite removed from the goings on there. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. Of the 5 dishes my partner and I ordered, we agreed that 2 of them were excellent, the scallop dish and the ableskriver. The remainders (summer squash, albecore tuna, schnitzel) left us feeling that the dishes were alright but we didn't feel like we were 'wowed', which was sort of the expectation coming to a Michelin Star restaurant. This is, unfortunately, consistent with what I had read online previously. Overall a good night, but the food didn't feel like it was worth the price, especially for a bill that came to $345 for two people. We won't be returning.

Another Michelin-starred restaurant in Vancouver that truly deserves all its accolades. Their cocktails were amazing- borderline dangerous because they were so smooth and you couldn't really taste the alcohol. I highly recommend Figgy Sins (if it is still on the menu). The wine pairing was good too for the most part. There were one or two pairings that were off but the staff was kind enough to replace the pairings with different options. The whole experience lasted over 2.5 hrs. For a tasting menu, we got a LOT of food and my friend and I were so full towards the end- we struggled to get through the main course and the desserts. The dishes were very creative, packed a lot of flavors and were delectable. Service was amazing as well. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable. Overall, it was a greay experience. I highly recommend Published on Main.

Birthday dinner with family. Came highly recommended and did not disappoint, from the very beginning to the end, it was really on point. The room was understated but very nice, service was amazing and the food was next level. We loved Bar Susu and were sad to see it close but we learned that Published was affiliated so very happy we get to have the KFC fried matsutake mushroom. Everything was delicious but highlights were the gnocchi, strip loin and scallop. The staff were very attentive and even gave my wife a nice birthday parting gift.
Howard T — Google review
Service here was next-level. When we didn’t book the tasting menu, the team curated a selection for us that perfectly captured what’s on offer right now. Every dish was thoughtful, flavourful, and so unique. 🍴 But the real star? The tomatoes. Don’t underestimate them. Okanagan grown, bursting with flavour, honestly the best we’ve ever had. 🍅💫
Danika P — Google review
We went there last night for my husbands birthday. We ordered the tartare, fois gras, cabbage, scallop crudo, octopus, matsutake mushroom, gnocchi, and lamb. We could’ve done with one less dish tbh since we were really full after. Our favourite dishes were the matsutake mushroom, scallop, and octopus. We weren’t a huge fan of the lamb as it was pretty gamey. I love lamb usually and the gaminess, but this was pretty overpowering. So that’s the only dish that we didn’t like. The gnocchi wasn’t our favourite, but it was still good. Next time we’d stick to the smaller plates and the seasonal menu as everything we got from that menu was delicious. Our bill came to over 400 with tips. Well worth it considering the entire experience.

We were a group of three celebrating my wife’s birthday while visiting Vancouver from Texas, and the experience was simply outstanding. The food was absolutely amazing, every dish felt like a piece of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The service was equally exceptional , attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish. It was a perfect evening, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. Highly recommended and you won’t regret..

Spanish restaurant
Como Taperia is a vibrant Spanish tapas bar and restaurant located in Vancouver. The establishment offers an authentic experience with small plates, regional wines, gin, and sherry. The menu features modern twists on classic dishes, all made to order and served from custom tapas cases imported from Barcelona. In addition to the delicious food, Como Taperia also boasts a selection of sherries and Spanish vermouths for guests to enjoy.
Como surely offered a 5 star dining experience. We had the good fortune of being seated at the bar facing the grill/prep station, which added multisensory richness to the experience. The vibrant vibe infused with a dash of warmth and a refined informality, made it all the more special. The space has an eclectic aesthetic replicating the feel of a true Tapas bar situated in a bustling bazaar of Madrid. The food menu has plenty vegetarian options - a big win for us. The flavors were bold yet delicately balanced. Cocktails were prepared with great attention to detail. Personal favorites - Food: Patatas Bravas, Charred Broccolini, Burnt basque cheesecake Cocktails: Cannavaro, Rosa Hermosa, SL's Negroni 3.0

This place was incredible. The olives stuffed anchovies were amazing. The chorizo (get the fried one) was to die for. The fried ribs also had some peppery after taste and was crispy outside but soft and tender inside. The iberico pork chop was also quite good, but not as good as the other dishes.

Been there twice. First time, loved it. Food was good. Second time, food was good, garlic shrimp could be more garlic flavored. However, we weren’t happy with the service. Didn’t seem like the host or the waiter wanted to serve us. Host brought us to a very sunny table inside, and there’s no ac, so it was hot. I requested to have a shadier table and she wasn’t happy, but moved us to a table and said we only have 40 minutes since the table is booked and then the waiter just didn’t seem like they wanted to serve given the limited time we had to be there. Quite disappointing as I was hyping the place up to my friends. Food, good though.

Great experience! We went for Father's Day with a larger party and had to contact the restaurant via email due to our size. They were super responsive and helpful with all my inquiries! We ended up going during a special event where they cooked paella and we were still able to order off the menu as well! The food was delicious - we will definitely be back soon!

Food & Drink
Odd Society Spirits, situated in East Vancouver's Port District, is a unique distillery that blends traditional distilling methods with innovative ingredients to produce an enticing range of spirits such as whiskey, vodka, and gin. Founded by Gordon Glanz, who holds a master's degree in brewing and distilling from Scotland, the distillery is run by Gordon along with his wife Miriam Karp and friend Joshua Beach.
My partner and I love Odd Society, and have visited for many celebrations. Their cocktail menu is creative and they often have tasty specials, featuring their brands of different spirits. Keep in mind that their food menu is limited, but the drinks are well worth the night out. This is a gem spot in our neighbourhood.

Had the most amazing experience at Odd Society. We are visiting from California and love a good distillery. I happened to find this one on Google and we fell in love. When you walk in the door the atmosphere is so warm and inviting and the candlelight and light smell of incense set a relaxing mood. Looking at the menu, you are presented with such a variety of crafted drinks that are all crafted with their house made spirits. The drinks are so unique in flavor and their "odd" names. They offer a variety of snack options ranging from charcuterie boards to shrimp and scallop dumplings. The staff is extremely friendly and happy to help make suggestions and tell you more about their spirits. Thank you James for all your help! I highly suggest trying this distillery and look forward to returning before we head home (with a bottle or two of their amazing whiskeys).

Fun distillery experience in the Powell Street area. This place has a lot of different alcohols, including whiskeys, gin, and amaro. They also have a good happy hour to get a few of their signature cocktails cheaper so you can try what they make. And yes, every drink is made fresh in front of you so you can watch the bartenders make all of your cocktails. Definitely a cool spot to check out before heading to some of the restaurants in the area.

For me, this is the best distillery in Vancouver, both for their spirits and their cocktails. and Gordon and Miriam have put together a wonderful room that I can comfortably spend hours in. Over the years, I've seen them slowly grow their lineup to the variety they have today and I can say that every step was considered; Gord and his team do not put out any bad products. The tasting room is where I really developed an appreciation for cocktails from the early days when Mia developed the bar program. While there are always a few classics, Mia introduced me to flavours and combinations I hadn't experienced before - not because they were trendy or cool, but because they worked. Come down, spend a couple hours, and support a local business built by people who care about every aspect of what they're doing.

Key Party is a hidden gem in East Vancouver, tucked behind the facade of an accounting firm on Main Street. This speakeasy offers a unique 1970s house party vibe with its dimly lit interior, velvet drapes, tufted upholstery, and a large wooden bar set against a stunning hand-painted mural. The atmosphere is vibrant and intimate, making it the perfect spot for enjoying clever cocktails and customizable drinks.
The drinks were fantastic! We waited almost an hour so the fact that they don’t resos kind of sucked but the place is really tiny, so it makes sense. The ambience was a great way to end the night! We got the Pearl Necklace and The Sidepiece!
Anisha B — Google review
Made our first visit to Key Party last night. We walked by it twice as the front of it looks like an old accounting office but we figured it out eventually. Once inside the space is small and dark but very cool. We were warmly greeted by bartender Brandon and were immediately offered water and menus. The speciality cocktail list is small but very creative. We both ordered and proceeded to soak in the cool atmosphere. We felt almost transported in time and I love that we were cut off from the outside world. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and we will be back. Key Party does not take reservations and it is a tight space. I will add that it has AC which at this point in time is important.
Thomas K — Google review
Ive walked by the speakeasy 1,000,000 times, but had never gone in until this week. My friend and I finally got the chance to go this week and were quite pleasantly surprised. They had all of their vegan options labeled, which I was super excited about. I tried one cocktail that was a bit simple/fruity for my liking however, I could see someone else enjoying it. I just felt that could be a bit more creativity to it. On that note though, I did only have one drink, so will be back to try another before giving a better review. Very fun cocktail names though :) The bar was cool and aesthetic. It was an LGBTQ friendly space. I also believe it is wheelchair accessible, as i saw someone paying in a chair- but you might need to go through the neighbouring restaurant to access. Overall, we enjoyed it. I think to give it 5 stars there would just need to be some improvements to the finishing touches. I think it was cute, but I really admire the small touches often seen in NY bars, and it felt like it was missing something. Would still go again with friends :)
Savannah — Google review
Cocktails here are my favorite :) nice place to chitchat and drink with your friends or date. If you want to try something else rather than the cocktail, there are also some wine, beer, and cider. But the cocktail is a must! The food are more likely a snack to pair with the drinks but it’s tasty.
Vidchayada C — Google review
One of the best cocktail bar experiences I've ever had. Peter was gracious enough to chat with us about cocktails, mocktails, gin and much more while making some amazing drinks. He also gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations around town. If you are easily offended by sex jokes then the drink names might not be to your liking. But for everyone else, this place is a must visit for me now; can't wait to get back to Vancouver so I can come here again!
Thane M — Google review
Nice room, stupid sex pun cocktails, made well and served quickly by a friendly bartender with good music. Proves that a cocktail bar’s concept doesn’t have to be pretentious to be great. Kind of annoyed at myself for not having come here sooner. Not quite as good as the first couple of years of the Elk Room, but I can’t think of any place doing it better in Vancouver 2025.
Sean K — Google review
My friend recommended this place and I'm so glad that she did. My partner and I were here last Saturday and we agreed that it was fabulous. The exterior is rather misleading as it looks like an office but then you open the door and you're inside the bar. I was worried that they wouldn't have a table for us but thankfully they did. It is a small bar so ideal for a date or an intimate conversation with friends. It wasn't too loud and the interior deco was beautiful. We each ordered a wine but they have several cocktail options. I understand that they don't take reservations but it would be great if they did. That said, I do recommend this place.
Lee V — Google review
We came with a group of 5 people at 7 pm. The admin told us to start in 30 minutes. We waited for an hour, when I went to clarify, the admin started mumbling something without any specifics "oh, there are 5 of you, it's hard to seat you, can you wait a little longer..." although during the rest of the hour, 2-3 people came in all the time and were seated. I asked "why did you say 30 minutes if it's hard to seat 5 and why didn't you say after 30 minutes that it's better not to wait?" Of course, there was no clear answer. I asked how long to wait and he said another 30 minutes. We waited another 30 minutes (1.5 hours) and they still didn't seat us. We have never encountered such a terrible service. The administrators were disinterested and as indifferent as possible. If you have Birthday and small group people never came here.

Arcana Spirit Lounge is a unique occult-inspired cocktail bar and restaurant in Vancouver, created by the team behind Storm Crow bars. The establishment has a mysterious vibe, with its pet psychic business facade. Visitors praise the accommodating service and delicious food, particularly highlighting the mouth-watering Grilled Cheese. The cocktails are described as amazing and well-crafted, with attention to detail. While prices may be on the higher side, patrons find that the experience, atmosphere, and attentive staff justify it.
What an amazing little surprise! The atmosphere was spooky and delightful. So many clever little decor touches. Zoltar was fun, but I still don’t feel like an adult, so that was a little disappointing. The cocktail/mocktail menu was very interesting. Each drink had a fun little surprise. I recommend reading the write up about each drink. The food was delicious! Presentation was outstanding and otherworldly. I wish we had time for desert!

Wow, this place is incredible! The drinks were so good! We had the devil and the star and while wildly different, both delicious! Devil is less smoky then the smoke cloud would imply. Hint of spice. Star is like the best orange creamsicle with a licorice finish! So good! Highly recommend

I loved my dining experience at Arcana! I tried the Empress cocktail, it was delicious and beautifully presented, and I really liked the little card that came with it (not every drink has one, which makes it more special). I also had the steak and fries, the fries were decent, but the steak was absolutely phenomenal. I rarely order steak outside of a steakhouse, but this one was truly impressive, especially with the sauce on top. We also shared the dark chocolate dessert, which was delicious and fun to watch as they lit it on fire. Every dish looked stunning and tasted just as good. The atmosphere is dark and moody, very whimsical and unique. We went for a Halloween celebration, and they even handed out candy at the end, which was such a nice touch. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!

First time coming here and enjoyed the experience , we got a table straight away on a Saturday evening. Our server was friendly and drinks came out quickly. Drink menu is unique and so many options. I tried the Pride (Leo) this was flavourful and sweet. Atmosphere is dark and moody some of the music switched and didn’t seem very fitting for the vibe but still good. We did not try food but will be back.

Definitely the spirity vibes. Thankfully wait was not too long for the table. Only walkins. Tried their Casper and The Devil for the drinks. Both were good. Thank you for a lovely night out on the town.

Honestly, I cannot stop thinking about this place. The vibes were impeccable. The space is the perfect size cozy but elevated, with stained glass windows, great lighting, and the music set the mood just right. It all felt super intentional and so cute. I saw some people in the reviews talk about drink prices, but let me just say these cocktails are an experience. They’re not your usual rum and coke kinda drinks. They’re super creative, well thought out, and honestly just beautiful. You can tell each one is made with love. I had the charcuterie board (amazing) and one of the desserts at the top of the menu it came out literally on fire and looked stunning. It was rich, delicious, and the presentation was so gorgeous. Everything felt super curated like, every dish and drink felt like someone really took the time to make it special. I genuinely think this is one of the best spots I’ve ever been to. The service was great, everyone was lovely, and it was just such a perfect night. If you’re someone who appreciates the little details and a unique vibe, this is definitely for you. I’m already looking for an excuse to go back.

The drinks were amazing and the staff were very friendly! However, I brought someone here for a birthday dinner and we were seated in a small side room to the left of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we couldn’t really see or enjoy any of the decor — which was one of the main reasons we chose to come. We had made our reservation a month in advance and were hoping for a table in the main area, so it was disappointing to feel like we missed out on the full “spooky” experience. To make things worse, since we were the only ones in that room, it seemed the wait staff didn’t realize we were there at first, so it took quite a while before we could order. Despite that, we’re planning to come back and give it another try, hoping for a table in the main dining area next time

Electric Bicycle Brewing, located in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver, is a quirky and vibrant brewery that opened in the spring of 2018. The small and colorful 47-seat tasting room offers a unique experience with its fun and irreverent atmosphere. The brewery was the result of two years of hard work by young owners Elliot McKerr, Matt Ryan, and Leigh Matkovich. Additionally, the KAPOW!
It was amazing beer and atmosphere. The interior was decorated with great attention to detail. So cute. The highlight was the staff service. Though there was only one staff member, he attentively looked after food and drinks for all tables, and friendly and providing excellent service. I'll definitely come back.

Really great atmosphere. Service was top-tier. Order the Tater Tots with spice (and pay-it-forward to everyone on the patio!) 🍻

This brewery is my jam. It has a great 80's retro feel, even the soundtrack playing was 80's music. I went straight for a flight and every single beer I chose (pilsner, pale ale, Belgian, Hazy IPA) was smooth and satisfying. I would probably have the pale ale again if I visited. If you're not into beer there are wine and cocktail options as well, so this is a great spot for a drink before a date. Food is also on offer. Mainly the menu seemed to be burgers (fish and vegetarian too) which is smart as that goes well with beer. Parking is all street as there is no parking lot on site, but depending on the time and day you visit you should be able to get a spot. It's not the largest place inside, and there is a small outside patio on the street too. Staff were awesome, friendly and talkative, dogs are welcome too so why not visit if you have the time.

Thank you for your courtesy, guys 💕🌈🙏 Also, Note: i was gonna give 5 stars across the board but didnt get the option for the usual overall/food/service/atmosphere scores. Intention for 5/5 was there ✨️🙏

Definitely a Fun Retro Vibe. Friendly Staff. Fast Service. Decent Prices. Their Beer Selection was small, but tasty. They have board games in the corner by their merchandise. Cozy Atmosphere. A small to go beer area consisting of their flagship beers. They have burgers available, but the price was around $20.(I understand why) it’s just hard to justify the cost imo. Overall this is a neat brewery to check out for a quick drink and maybe a tasty burger.

The Cascade Room is a vibrant restaurant that serves West Coast comfort food and offers an extensive classic cocktail list. Located near the corner of Main and Broadway, it's a popular spot for locals to enjoy daily Happy Hour specials and drink features. The venue also hosts jazz and blues nights during special events. For a more casual dining experience, visitors can head to The Cascade Room for comforting eats or explore other nearby dining options on Main Street.
I had the "Aviation" a cocktail I've been wanting too try for long time really enjoyed. My gf had a seasonal cocktail it had pomegranate and eggwhite-marshmallowy foam she enjoyed it. The vibe is great I'm glad my seats were actually comfortable unlike other bars that hate their customers next time I'll come back here with freinds and maybe sit in horseshoes seats and try the food. Btw It's large bar I was surprised how big it was plenty of different times of seating. Will definitely come back.

Excellent service however the food was pretty average. The fish was a bit overcooked and quite salty. The tiramisu was also pretty dry and the strawberry on top was basically going bad on the underside. If they are going to pre prep the food and take it out to serve they should make sure it is still fresh. The fish crockets were probably the best out of the 3 dishes served.
Paulina K — Google review
Solid Happy Hour menu. Calamari were fantastic, crispy cauliflower was delish, Poutine decadent. Charcuterie was a bit slim. Note that the Prawns Aguachile is swimming in cilantro, though that's not listed on the menu! And the chicken brochettes were a total miss for us - not much flavour but lots of gristle.
Munro S — Google review
Cool, comfortable place for cocktails and appetizers. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive! We had a variety of appetizers as dinner and can recommend them all: wings, warm olives, calamari, baked brie, and bread/butter side. All done very nicely and tasted great. Cocktails were great, we had a variety but I really liked the 'Distant Friend' and the 'Banana Rama'. Would love to work my way thru the feature list!

Have been going to this place for years and love it! Extensive and exciting cocktail list with great food and ambiance to boot. They often change up their feature cocktails so always something new to try. Plus, all day happy hour on Mondays! Their cocktails are also just very reasonably priced in comparison to other cocktail bars. Easy 10/10!

Go ahead and try anywhere else on Main if you value hospitality. We were immediately seated at the bar, the drinks and food were fine. However, as we were closing out, one of us left a cash tip instead of using the card machine, she’s a server herself and understands the value of a direct cash tip. After closing out, we asked for water before leaving and the bartender flat-out refused and said, “No, because she didn’t tip.” When we tried to explain that a cash tip had been left, along with the rest of our group tipping individually, he cut us off and WALKED AWAY. We were stunned, speechless, and honestly embarrassed over something that could have easily been cleared up with just a little bit of professionalism and courtesy.

A cool little spot on Main Street with an extensive happy hour (all day on Mondays). This was a fun afternoon spot, where it’s not that loud and has attentive staff. A large selection of beers on tap from Main St that can be happy hour options, plus cocktails on tap that give you a lot of options for refreshments. Food is good, comes out fresh, and hot. Has a good vibe and will definitely come back for another round.

Bagheera is a hidden speakeasy in Vancouver that pays homage to the Indian subcontinent at the turn of the 20th century. The interior features stunning hues of gold, red, teal, and imperial purple, along with a 45-foot hand-painted jungle mural and a 42-foot bar. The cocktail menu offers prohibition-styled drinks and unique spirits while the bartenders are knowledgeable and eager to share information.
Amazing place with delicious cocktails. Music was a bit too loud for talking, but that wasn't an issue because the people i was with did not have a lot interesting to say. I love their camel milk drink and their small dishes for sharing. Overall 5/5 highly recommend
Jad M — Google review
Atmosphere: 8.5/10 Downtown Vancouver speakeasy hidden behind a horse betting office. The space is visually striking: a curved ceiling above the bar glittering with a pattern of gold and silver jewelry, creating a luxe fairytale atmosphere. Plenty of bar seating plus booths and tables for groups. The backbar itself is forgettable, but the interior design clearly steals the show. Music volume was a bit too high for easy conversation. Drinks: 6/10 Recommended drink: – Menu is a creative standout, themed around jungle tales with each cocktail accompanied by its own short story and glassware illustration. Sadly, the drinks don’t live up to the narrative. No coasters, average glassware with some fun touches, basic garnishes, and middling presentation. Drinks tasted alright, but lacked depth or refinement. Service: 7.5/10 Staff was friendly and professional. Water was served on arrival. Prices were about average for Vancouver.
Anton S — Google review
Bagheera is more known for a cocktail bar than dinner spot so that’s something to keep in mind. I came here for dinner and drinks and the first half was a bit of a mistake. Let’s start with the environment, which is really cool with the whole Asian jockey club speakeasy style. The interior is beautiful, and well decorated. Drinks are interesting, some hits, some okay, but overall, they’re well executed cocktails that have some unique twists to them. They’re about $20 a cocktail. Now here comes the food part, they’re all very small snack portions, the biryani is a small size that fits in the palm of your hand. We spent over $100 on these snack portions (for two) and we were still hungry after. So after $200+ on food and drinks, we left hungry, looking for another spot to eat. So overall, if you’re looking for a cocktail bar, this is a fun place to check out. If you’re looking to eat as well, come later, after dinner.
Andy C — Google review
Such a unique experience. Getting into it alone makes it worthwhile. Then you get hit with the aesthetics - the decor is quite something. Just having a drink and spending time looking around is worth the visit. Then it’s the service… everyone was wonderful and the bartenders were super professional. We stayed for the happy hour. Cocktails were delicious and the pakoras did not disappoint. I will definitely want to come back.
George F — Google review
One of the most thoughtful themed speakeasy in the city. A lot of decorations and preparation was put into this, and I find that the drinks that were inspired by the poems is amusing to read and enjoy. Food is great, especially the chicken, definitely on a pricier side with small potions but worth it in such a curated atmosphere. Perfect for an elegant date night.

We stopped here for drinks and got in after a little trouble finding the place. The “host” at the front of the place is very funny. Love how he keeps up the act. Bartender is very nice. Great drinks. Loved all the little details of this place. Will be back!

Our experience was really bad. Things are overpriced, esp food (even for happy hour). $16 for an extremely tiny bowl of biryani rice. And $16 for 3 pieces of fried shrimp. The food tastes not good too. Too oily. The drinks are so-so too. Not worth the hype. The decor is nice but overall a bad experience.

Came to Bagheera with a friend and got a couple of drinks and the Chicken 65. The portion for the Chicken 65 was pretty tiny but it was delicious. The drinks were unique and fun to try. The menu and décor are both a 10/10. I just wish the entrance felt more like the speakeasy I had heard about. The confirmation email builds up this anticipation that you are going to get that full speakeasy entrance experience but when we arrived we were just asked if we had a reservation.

It was busy Saturday night but we were happy to wait! Had 3 different drinks - I asked our server to surprise me and though I can’t remember the names, they were all excellent. So, this place had some great surprises in store and some small disappointments. The Last Word was a great cocktail, very crushable (i don't even like Gin, btw), but it's a terrific flavor. Great playlist --- should have google-song searched the song playing when i arrived (that's on me and my reflexes lol) Was a little underwhelmed by the snack portions (olives were a good value, but the nuts felt like they could have been a better quantity and value. Great flavor, though. Nice and smoky, though). Speaking of smoky, one small problem was all the smoke from people outside wafting in... i know it was affecting my experience in a way i wasn't totally okay with, but also... realistically, do you tell them to move on? Pragmatically, it seems unreasonable an ask, considering the hostel in the same building and international travelers --- just not ideal if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke on a warmer day with the windows open. Overall decently-good.

Phenomenal dinner from this week's chef Christian. Highlights were the lamb croquette and the pork and spot prawn dumplings. Great wine pairing recommendations from the waitress. I could likely eat several slices of the apple custard cake we had for dessert...it reminded me of something I'd get at a high end bakery. Do recommend making a reservation. Would strongly recommend dining here and we will definitely be back. Some of the better food I've had in town. 3 glasses of wine each and every food item on the menu split between 3 of us was ~$70cad each.

First time trying this place — loved the patio! The area wasn’t too busy, super cozy even though it was a bit windy. The staff were really friendly! If you enjoy unique food with thoughtful wine pairings look no further than Bar Tartare! My good friend and I wondered over for dinner (part 2) after a recommendation from another local restaurant we had just come from, and it became our favorite restaurant on our Vancouver trip. We shared the scallop crudo and tempura oyster mushrooms (both were awesome) and a bottle of Reflexion. They all complimented each other perfectly. We loved the bottle of wine so much that we picked up another two days later to enjoy back at our Airbnb. Shout out to Wallace (part of their staff) who helped us choose - she is so knowledgeable about their wine offerings - don’t hesitate to ask her for a recommendation. Thank you Bar Tartare 💜

The melon crudo was a standout the compressed cantaloupe with jalapeño, basil, coriander oil, and fennel pollen was so fresh and unique. The radish tonnato with peanut chili crunch and basil was equally delicious, layered with flavor and texture. The wine pairing was excellent and really brought everything together. Highly recommend!
Lauren B — Google review
OK, let me start with the good. The front of house staff were welcoming and helpful. Now the bad. Wine selections were poor. Red wine temperature was so cold it had no taste or aroma. I find many establishments serve their red wine too warm, but this red wine was served straight out of the same fridge that chilled the white wine. The wine was so cold I needed to cradle glass in my hands in order to warm it up ( I was tempted to use my armpit but it is a nice establishment after all). The bar service is poor, everyone stands in line to taste wine before asking for a pour. Lining up for an insipid taste is a waste of everyone's time. The staff never present the bottle for review and simply state the varietal. I do not believe there is a sommelier. To add insult to all of this, the glassware was cheap and inappropriate for the wines. Any self respecting wine establishment should be using the appropriate stemware for the varietal. I don't want to sound like a snobby oenophile, but this establishment should simply refer to itself as a casual café that happens to serve wine.
Peter B — Google review
It’s probably my new favorite place in Vancouver! I have no complaints at all. Food was absolutely amazing (went for Alvaro Montes de Oca, Mexican food) and as a Mexican I would go back any day of the week for the arrachera and Oyster mushroom tacos. The wine was also amazing and the server let us try several wines before deciding which one we wanted. The service was excellent and I can’t wait to go back to try the other featured chefs.
Lucila G — Google review
I love the concept of this place! It's casual with tons of seating outside. To order food and drinks you go to the front counter. They have a huge selection of wine bottles for sale! The food is meant to be shared and it looks like the menu changes often. The dishes are on the smaller side but they are sooooooooo good. So good that we ordered a few of our faves a second time! The staff here are also super nice and helpful. I wanted a white wine that was not too dry or too sweet and I was very happy with the SB bottle that was recommended! This place does not take resos but we came on a Saturday night around 7pm and had no issues getting a table for 4 :)

What a great experience! Bar Susu was the last place that we visited on our hometown visit and it was GREAT. What a wonderful way to punctuate our trip especially after some disappointing experiences at some ‘stars’ in the city this was refreshing. Every dish was great conceptually and executed seamlessly. The wine menu was strong and the staff were super helpful even in light of our pickiness. This is Vancouver Gem. Deserving of all the hype.
Jahmarley G — Google review
The food does not stand out a bit, it is either too salty or too bland. The bread is perhaps the only bright side of the items we have ordered. We’ve had high hopes for Bar Susu and left extremely extremely extremely disappointed especially with our server ignoring us the entire time. We can’t place order, we can’t ask for more napkins, we can’t even pay the bills because they are too busy cleaning the tables. We have come to celebrate anniversary and this has utterly destroyed our night. I sincerely hope the management team can teach them priorities with a better SOP.
W S — Google review
The environment of this wine bar is beautiful with the tall ceilings. The servers were knowledgeable about the different type of wines but not that easy to understand. We were able to get a table for 6 as a walk in pretty easily. The food servings were small but still meant for sharing. The price is justified if you are splitting between two or three people but a bit overpriced when just ordering it for yourself. For example a small loaf of bread and a table spoon of butter for $16. They have a rotating list of wines by the glass but bottles ranging from $80 and up. I am happy that I tried it and went but it definitely is just for the vibes rather than the food and prices.

My husband and I came here last night for the first time, for our wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have loved it more! The natural wine was some of the best we’ve had and all the food was amazing too. Highly recommend the steak and crudo. We will definitely be back!

We came here for dine out. This is a cozy wine bar with an interesting layout and stylish decor. However, due to it being very busy at the time we came in, it was pretty loud, so it was hard for us to converse without raising our voices, which isn’t ideal. The staff were all very kind and great at giving us detailed descriptions of our dishes. It was nice that they had vegetarian options, as I was a bit limited on what I could eat. I liked the milk bread, and the chocolate mousse. The kfc maitake was a bit too salty, and the grilled mushroom salad was quite sour and acidic (I liked it, two other people in my party didn’t). Unfortunately I didn’t really enjoy the squash risotto, it was a bit bland for my taste. My friends also found the coppa steak overly salty. Due to the dine out menu being limited, I assume there are other items on their regular menu that I would’ve liked more. I will most likely try this restaurant again, maybe on a less busy day or at a less busy time, as I do really like the look of the place and I’d like to try more of the menu.

My friend and I loved this place so much, we visited two days in a row. The crudo and steak are amazing. Sorbet and strawberry tart are delicious. The waffles 🧇 were amazing! As a main I tried “Le burger”, seemed very well cooked at first but the flavour was not the best at the end, I believe the taste of parsley 🌿 was very present (too much) and difficult to navigate around. The potatoes that it came with were good. Apart from that, everything else was great. Tammy, our waitress was very attentive. Would come back.

Had booked dinner for our family to celebrate a milestone birthday, had anticipated for delicious food only to have been very disappointed by the mains. The appetizers showed great promise, the shrimp scampi, strawberry salad, and carpaccio were great as were the other few appies we ordered. The zero proof drinks were also very enjoyable. Unfortunately, out of the 6 meals we ordered for the mains, the only 2 guests who enjoyed their food were the ones that shared the steak. 3 of us ordered the sablefish main, which has always been a favorite but this time it was unrecognizable. Sablefish is usually very flaky and soft and melts in your mouth . This was not that at all. There was firstly such a small piece of fish in my meal, I only had a couple bites worth. Secondly there seemed to hardly be any fish and it tasted overcooked and nothing like any sablediah I've had before-- very underwhelming. All 3 of us felt the same . The best part of the meal was the small chorizo sausage that was not supposed to be the main highlight. The sweet potato dish also fell flat. This was a mood killer by then end as none of us finished our meals and were left disappointed. Next time if im ever back, ill stick to just the appies and drinks.

Seafood restaurant
The Vancouver Fish Company is a bright and breezy seafood restaurant located in the bustling Granville Island. With its waterfront views and spacious patio, it's a popular spot for both locals and visitors to savor delicious seafood while enjoying the lively marina atmosphere. The menu features an array of carefully selected local fish, most of which are Ocean Wise certified, ensuring sustainability and quality.
My wife and I celebrated our 19th anniversary here, and the evening was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully curated for a perfect night. The food was divine—fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. We started with the mussels, which were incredibly fresh and bursting with the most delicious, savory broth. She chose the salmon, tender and perfectly cooked, while I had the steak with prawns—rich, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Every bite felt like a celebration of our years together. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel truly valued. We were seated quickly, and every interaction was filled with genuine kindness. It was the perfect setting to honor our love—elegant, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

Great place with good food, fantastic service, and lovely ambiance. Bryce did an excellent job of serving us; attentive but not overbearing. The food was good. The mussels were amazing. The shrimp and the fish were good but were overshadowed by the mussels. We were there during happy hour, so we enjoyed a few happy hour drinks. These were also quite good. Overall a very good experience and we all enjoyed ourselves.

We had lunch with my in-laws and, although we didn’t have a reservation and the terrace was fully booked, we were seated inside. We ordered fresh Pacific oysters, clam and seafood chowder, the lobster roll with fries, and the surf & turf (steak with lobster and vegetables). The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. However, the service left something to be desired. Our appetizers and main courses were brought out at the same time without being asked, and we ended up waiting quite a while overall. It felt like the staff might have been more focused on the terrace guests than those dining indoors. Despite the slow service, we still enjoyed our time and were very pleased with the quality of the food. A few service adjustments would make the experience perfect.

I went to this restaurant once a few years ago and had a good first impression. This time I took some visiting family friends here for an early dinner. We were a group of four and they gave us a more roomy table with our own booth as I was quite pregnant at that time. Not all restaurants would do that, and we appreciated it. We ordered four different main and everyone was happy with their food. I had fish and chip, and the portion was larger than expected. Tea was served in a nice tea pot. The restaurant also looked quite nice inside. Overall, quite good value for a pleasant dining experience.

Went here with my family for supper while checking out Granville Island. The clam chowder here is ELITE. Whatever broth or stock was used in it, plus those plump, fresh clams, made it perhaps the best chowder I’ve ever had. And the oysters - it was our first time trying Beachcomber oysters and we just love how creamy they are. Will definitely come back here. Pro tip - get a patio table overseeing the marina. We caught a glimpse of a fishmonger filleting fish and chopping crab while a harbour seal looks on 🦭

The seafood is fresh. We had halibut as lobster and crab were out of season. The service was exceptional. The food was spectacular. My teenage daughter loved the muscles and the fresh oysters. We visited in July during a heat spell, and it was a little on the warmer side in the restaurant so we all left a little bit sweaty, but otherwise it was a perfect night.

I always have their seafood fresh. Once in a while, you must enjoy their seafood tower. We add lobster and crab as well. The meats were sweet. We also have shrimp cocktails, tuna tataki, and spring roll kits on the top. The fish and chips have crispy texture. Also, their caesar salad is unexpectedly very tasty. It wasn’t like the other store-bought caesar dressing. I could taste the peppercorn and fresh lemon on the dressing they made. Very good dishes and service!

We stopped at this location during our visit in the city. We had a larger party and the staff was very accommodating to find a spot for us on a busy night. It ended up being a great experience, with a nice view, patio heaters and good drinks/ food. The staff was attentive throughout and helped us out make our selections.

Brewery
Nestled in the vibrant Yaletown neighborhood, Yaletown Brewing Company (YBC) has been a beloved fixture since its inception in 1994. This iconic brewpub captures the essence of community with its inviting atmosphere that welcomes everyone—from business professionals to casual visitors. With a spacious 160-seat restaurant and an energetic pub featuring TVs, a pool table, and even a cozy fireplace, it’s an ideal spot for any occasion throughout the year.
Had so much fun! I was here with my friends and it was pretty fun! Thank you to our server Alex, he’s so nice and approachable. He gave us some options for the happy hour. The food and drinks are all good! We had some fish tacos, pizza, poutine and brisket sandwich. We also drank margaritas x3 rounds, mojitos and wine. Loved it! We will definitely come back! :)

The first time I visited, I ordered a salad and was genuinely surprised by how fresh and delicious it was — definitely one of the best I've had. The wine selection was also excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. On my second visit, I tried the chicken and the salmon burger — both were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. This place consistently delivers great food and a cozy atmosphere. It wasn't that crowded, and we didn’t have to wait for a table either time, which made the whole experience even better. Only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the Coke — but aside from that, we’re in love with this spot. Definitely coming back again! Edit: And here we go we came back again third time. I love the seafood salad. The best one in town.

We had delicious lunch at this place. They have vegetarian options available. Staff is nice and service is prompt. We would definitely visit again. Ambience is amazing, we preferred sitting outside on a sunny Sunday and loved the experience. Prices are on the higher side but totally worth it. Go visit and you will be pleased with overall experience.

Fantastic time at Yaletown Brewing Company; visited on a couple of occasions whilst visiting Vancouver and it’s a great spot in Yaletown. In particular, today we visited and was served by Alejandro (who was very welcoming and attentive) during the Happy Hour offer (which is so vast compared to others we have seen in the city). We shared the nachos and fish tacos and they were immense! Go when you’re hungry if ordering the nachos is my word of warning as the portion is huge (but super tasty).

Absolutely loved my visit to Yaletown Brewing Company! From the moment I walked in, the host was so welcoming and the service from our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and professional. The food and drinks were top-notch, especially the craft beer selection and cocktails. Such a cozy and vibrant atmosphere — perfect for a night out with friends or a casual dinner. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend this place!

Nestled on the vibrant Granville Island, The Liberty Distillery is a must-visit for spirit enthusiasts. This charming distillery specializes in crafting artisanal vodka, gin, and whiskey using organic grains sourced from British Columbia. One of their standout offerings is the Trust Ancient Grains whiskey, made from unique grains like spelt and emmer wheat. Visitors can indulge in a delightful tasting experience with options such as The Liberty Flight or The Gin Flight in their quaint tasting room.
Have always enjoyed the cocktails here, especially anything with the Liberty Gin. We recently booked for our anniversary party, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The atmosphere and staff was great, and I was delighted by how smooth the logistics were. The Liberty team made it a great and easy day for us.

Make a little cocktail stop while you are visiting Granville Island and you will feel historic vibes in this beautiful area. Their cocktails 🍸 are exceptionally delicious! The interior of the distillery is stylish and has some antique elements. Received friendly service and we felt very welcome. The bartender did a great job! I definitely recommend this place and will come back for more cocktails🍹. There is an option for those who want to purchase an in-house made bottle of spirits.

Cute stop with the worst tasting experience I've ever had (out of about 40+ wineries, breweries & distilleries). Great vibe with untapped potential. There were sterile, white, laminated info cards to describe the $15 flight tasting notes. Zero experience. Zero in-person explanation. Zero reason to return. Almost thought we were going to get some quality content when a dude with an awesome moustache and apron brought our water... (the highlight of the experience) But that was the whole experience, him bringing the water to the table. Their sign posts tours, but they no longer offer tours. If you want a quality tasting, visit Ontario (or Kentucky) . For comparables I'd recommend the staff / management visit 40 Creek (tasting / tour) or Dillon's in Ontario, or Alexander Keith's (Halifax, next level beer experience)...

Anh and Chi is a well-established Vietnamese restaurant that has been serving traditional dishes like pho for many years. The restaurant has received recognition in the past, with awards for its quality cuisine. The establishment's ambiance pays tribute to its Vietnamese roots, featuring custom wood patterns, chopstick panels, palm-printed wallpaper, and imported Vietnamese wall tiles that blend modern and retro design elements. Locals highly recommend Anh and Chi as a go-to place for authentic pho in the area.
Absolutely loved our experience at Anh and Chi! The food was outstanding — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and we left feeling more than satisfied. The appetizers were fantastic and set the tone for a great meal. Their drinks were also amazing — creative, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. On top of all that, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. Highly recommended and definitely a place I’d love to come back to!
Afsaneh Z — Google review
Delicious Vietnamese food! I understand now why this place awarded for 3 (2022-2024) consecutive years the Michelin guide. The restaurant has a modern atmosphere with a nice tropical decoration. Staff is friendly, our waitress has an exceptional knowledge of the dishes and made good recommendations. Food feels authentic and tasty, the spring rolls were crispy in the outside but juicy and rich in flavors in the inside, plus the sweet-citric sauce combined perfectly with it, the beef noodle soup was amazing, the broth had an intense flavor, super yummy, big portion for 2 people easily, the sorbet was the grand finale, the fruit flavors were extraordinary. I will definitely go back to try other items of the menu. This was a pleasant food experience. The only negative point is the wait list (around 30-40 minutes), understandable due to the good food quality served in here, but people that arrived after us, entered first, which was not quite fair.
Carla C — Google review
Food This was our second time visiting Anh and Chi, and it remains one of my absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. The first time we came, we waited almost two hours for a table, but it was so worth it that we promised we’d return. This time, we arrived later in the day and tried their Happy Hour menu instead of our usual large platter with shrimp and spring rolls (which was phenomenal last time). Out of everything we ordered, the AAA Beef Skewer was the star: tender, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I’d come back just for that dish alone. The chicken skin skewer was tasty but a bit heavy after a few bites, and the shiitake mushroom skewer was good but small for the price. The spring rolls had a special touch with a Vietnamese cracker inside, which made them unique, though still a bit pricey at $8 each, even during Happy Hour. The shrimp skewer was decent, but the beef definitely stood out as the highlight. Next time, I’ll return for their pho, which I remember being absolutely incredible, rich, balanced, and deeply comforting. Service The service at Anh and Chi is consistently great warm, efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. Despite coming without a reservation, we were seated faster than expected, which felt like a stroke of luck. The staff are polite, knowledgeable, and make you feel genuinely welcome. Atmosphere The restaurant is gorgeous inside, modern yet cozy, with natural wood tones, greenery, and delicate, almost vintage-inspired tiles that add to the charm. It’s the kind of place that feels equally perfect for a casual dinner, a date night, or a small celebration. The atmosphere has a relaxed energy, complemented by thoughtful design details that make it easy to enjoy your meal and linger a little longer. Overall Experience Anh and Chi continues to live up to its reputation for delivering high-quality Vietnamese cuisine with a modern twist. While the Happy Hour menu had a few small misses, the flavors, presentation, and service make this restaurant one of the best dining experiences in Vancouver. I’ll definitely be back again soon especially for that unforgettable beef skewer and their pho.

Everything was excellent. Anh and Chi is a family run Vietnamese restaurant that earned consecutively earned the Michelin reward from 2022-2025. The service was quick and extremely friendly. Grey's attitude was exceptional! Let's move onto the food. I had their rice with chicken and pork, and was it worth the $30. First off the chicken leg is HUGE, it's enough for 2 people. The skin is very crispy and the meat was flavorful. The pork chops were juicy and seasoned delightfully. I enjoyed the atmosphere here as well, it has that chill contemporary vibe to it. Overall, 5/5. No complaints, I would visit this restaurant again.
Cole D — Google review
Had a great time here. We got a table right away without reservations during a weekend lunch. The steamed rice sheets were a delightful experience, and we loved their signature vermicelli bowl. No other Vietnamese restaurant makes spring rolls like Anh and Chi does. The water spinach beef salad was refreshing and even though I was hesitant to order the pho when I could try more "adventurous" dishes, it was worthwhile; the broth was deeply flavourful. The only appetizer we didn't enjoy was the steamed rice cakes, which were hard to eat and disappointing texture-wise. It didn't impact our impression of Anh and Chi though, as the service more than made up for it.
Emily S — Google review
Anh & Chi is a great spot for Vietnamese food with a modern twist. The menu has lots of fresh options, and the flavors are spot-on. The spring rolls and vermicelli bowls are some of the best I’ve had here. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, though it can get busy, especially on weekends. Prices are a bit higher than typical Vietnamese spots, but the quality makes it worth it. Perfect for a nice casual meal if you’re into Vietnamese cuisine with a touch of something different.

Had dinner here last night and loved everything about it! The food was excellent: we ordered the family-style Chú Tư (Trio of Grilled Meats) so we could try the different grilled meats they have on the menu - this dish had beef short ribs, pork chops, and chicken. Our server was great, and made sure we were well taken care of. The vibe is also very cool, and very “Instagram-able”. Overall a very satisfying experience that I’m already looking forward to repeating.
Joel M — Google review
The signature vermicelli bowl was super fresh and tasty, and I also loved their crispy spring roll. The grilled octopus was alright, but the sauce didn’t really go with it. The Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver is a stylish and elegant venue that hosts a variety of performances, including ballet, opera, Broadway shows, and musical acts. Named after Queen Elizabeth II, the theater features classic and contemporary decor with grand staircases, chandeliers, and deep crimson seating. With a seating capacity of 2,929, it is known for its excellent sound quality and sight lines. The theater also houses a locally curated art gallery showcasing works by emerging artists.
Beautiful venue with lovely staff. Easy access, smooth process, washrooms are clean. Everything in right order. I am happy that even my seat at the very far left side had a good view. And of course big thank you to Precious Wilson and Thomas Anders for not letting us wait for hours like Macy Gray and Commodore Ballroom did....

I’ve been here several times for musicals and operas. It’s wonderful to have this venue, but the washroom is too small and can’t accommodate everyone during intermission.

Went there Sunday for Teresa Caputos Live Experience where we were prohibited fr taking photos or videos while she was present. The theater was very clean, however the seats are so close together and very small. There were cup holders but on the ground on the backs of the chairs in front of us. They don't accept cash for snacks or drinks. So if you go see a show there bring your bank/credit card. It was 17.50 for 2 cans of Hey Ya'lls. They also offered small bags of popcorn, as well as a few choices of chocolate bars for 3$ each. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Although I didn't get a reading, I enjoyed the experience, can't wait till she comes back again!!
Denyse H — Google review
Queen Elizabeth Theatre is definitely one of the best venues in Vancouver for theatre, concerts, and events. I really love the atmosphere and interior design — it’s a beautiful place to enjoy a performance. That said, there are a few major issues I think should be addressed. First, parking is extremely limited compared to the number of guests the venue can hold. There are parking lots nearby, but they’re quite expensive and, unfortunately, don’t feel very secure. I’ve attended many concerts here, and during the last one I went to (Thomas Anders), I paid about $20 for parking. When we came back, we saw many cars with their windows smashed — there was basically no security or supervision. Second, the number of washrooms is too low for the crowd size. You often have to wait in a long line just to use the restroom, which can be frustrating during intermissions. Finally, if you get hungry, the only snack option seems to be popcorn. And if, like me, you’re not a fan of popcorn, you’ll probably end up going hungry for hours.

The Queen Elizabeth Theatre is a mid-century modernist gem in downtown Vancouver, with a sweeping curved facade and a spacious 2,765-seat auditorium featuring tiered balconies and rich wood accents. Its proscenium stage and superior acoustics make it a premier venue for opera.
WanderMuseYing — Google review
Very fast getting through the entrance - scanned the tickets on our phones and opened my purse to check inside - helpful finding our seats . Temperature was great inside not cold - seating from balcony had great view of the stage .
Cher A — Google review
The production simply shouts “Cheap, cheap, cheap!” no matter how well the singers perform or act. The entire action has been relocated to Victorian London — though it’s hard to understand why that should be considered an improvement over the original setting. Perhaps they stumbled upon a bargain bundle of black suits for the cast. But why, one wonders, is the whole production staged on the steps of a metal pedestrian bridge, hemmed in by a fake wooden fence? Apparently, the Duke of Mantua’s estate is right there on those stairs, as are all the other locations of Mantua. For anyone who loves opera and knows even a little history, this concept creates total cognitive dissonance. If a parody was the goal, then call it a success. In the old days, cheap stage décor was painted on canvas; the modern twist is to project photographs of whatever you fancy onto a blank screen. Curious readers may find images online (as public photography is forbidden), or simply buy a ticket and enjoy. On the positive note: Sarah Dufresne (Gilda) delivered a great performance. Her voice has a beautifully pleasant timbre, supported by solid vocal technique. She executed the high notes and melodic nuances with clarity and expressive control. P.S. The buffet is a parody in its own right — long queues for pre-packaged KitKats, tiny tubs of Pringles, and lukewarm coffee. A real treat. Highlight of the evening? The vending machines honestly stuffed and dispensing cold bottled water.

Gringo Gastown, a lively late-night spot established in 2013, offers a nostalgic ambiance with neon lights and music from the 80s and 90s. The restaurant serves Mexi-Cali cuisine, cold beers, and cocktails presented uniquely in brightly colored sand buckets with plastic shovels for utensils. The vibrant atmosphere includes neon-colored stools and eye-catching electric pink margarita buckets. Gringo is known for its affordable prices on tacos, beer, and large booze buckets.
The tacos were delicious I ate the Austin and the chicken one. The nachos are ok, and the staff is very Friendly. The place is small and with a good vibe.

Late review, but I enjoyed the tacos here so much! I didn’t think soft shell tacos could taste so good. My boyfriend and I were originally planning to go to another restaurant nearby but they were closed so we came here (after hearing a friend’s recommendation) as a last minute attempt to save our date. It was a rainy day but the atmosphere in the restaurant made it much brighter (and by the time we left it stopped raining). For the tacos we had two of each minus the vegetarian ones, and the Austin ones were our favourite. We also had sour cream and guac on the side. The servers here are great! Super friendly and funny. The only thing to note is that this place is quite small and literally in an alleyway so we almost missed it.

after seeing that the reveiws here only complain abt the service, i HAD to try. but little did i know the service was fire but bro... even CHIPOTLE tastes better than this place... THATS CRAZY. i got their enchilada burrito and i wanted to bury myslef while eating it cuz the meat was SO DRY to the point were all the saliva from my mouth got sucked away, and it disnt help that the rice was also dry and bland, and that the tortilla had the texture of PLASTIC. so if ur a fan of plasticy toy food that taste more bland than chipotle, then get this dish!! (-2)/5 however their CBC burrito was much more edible and fit for human consumption but the rice to meat ratio was crazy... it tastes like im eating rice mixed with sm sort of sauce sprinkled with tiny morsels of meat. but at least it wasnt as dry as the sahara dessert. 1.5/5 overall 0/5 bad food good service...

The location and restaurant atmosphere is the highlight of this place, food is secondary and service follows. They’re polite and fast! The place moves fast, you’ll get rushed out if you stay longer than a couple hours. I had a big table and ordered throughout the night. We were given the bill before I got to finish my drink and dessert which would’ve been better if it came after. I recommend Gringo for casual late night hang or a bite to eat!

I have worked in this industry for years and have made a lot of tacos, some of them authentic mexican, some of them gringo/california style. I noticed it was an open kitchen so I ordered a 5-set of unique tacos just to see how it would be prepared. The chef was pre-closing and doing his flips when I came in right before close. He still delivered a perfect product. The presentation was 10/10, everything was to temp, no corners were cut. Just a flawless product. Good work chef.

Unfortunately most of their beers weren't to my liking (I didnt like either of the two sours they had) and they were sold out of the 3 other things I wanted - though it was a busy Saturday. Came in late on a Sunday. Server very gracious. Read all the signs, lots happening here. Specials, happy hour menus, pop ups, cocktail menu. Bless these intrepid Beer-tenders. Pro-tip: hit the beer market in the far side and get some heavily discounted beers. EASTVAN CRAFT LAGER FTW

I enjoyed my flight of beer here, with a pretzel for a snack. It was Oktoberfest when I visited. The beer garden area wad great.

This place has a fantastic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy good times with friends or as a couple. They offer a wide selection of beers, catering to all tastes, which is a real treat for beer enthusiasts. When it comes to food, I highly recommend the hamburgers—they are simply delicious and well-prepared. Although the Cajun chicken was good, the hamburgers stole the show. Overall, it's a great place, and I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Went here and loved it! I love the style of service (pay before you get your food), the atmosphere is lively and fun (they have board games and cards - but their connect four game is broken so they should take it off their shelf), and the food was great. We ordered the hot and the sweet and spicy chicken wings - they are so good. I would not recommend the chicken and mushroom poutine - it wasn't to my liking at all. Instead we got the nachos, and they turned out great. My husband ordered a pint of their beer and said it was really good too.

Long Table Distillery is Vancouver's first micro-distillery, offering a cool industrial-style tasting room and a store for their handcrafted spirits. This family-owned business is passionate about creating West Coast-inspired gins, vodkas, and seasonal spirits in small batches using traditional distilling practices. The 300-liter copper pot still gives each bottle of spirits its unique taste characteristics from a selection of botanicals and 100% Canadian sourced base inputs.
Went to a cocktail making class here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of choice of cocktails and they were extremely flexible and offered alternative options to ones on the menu. Chad was professional yet welcoming and very informative and accommodating thorough out the process. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Came for the cocktail class, stayed for the vibes. Was amazing all around! We had a great time with our instructor Aaron. He’s a gem! Gave every option under the sun for the group to make and even had 4 different types of drinks going at the same time. Loved the energy and vibe he brought. Highly recommend! Thanks Aaron!

First time in this distillery and it didn't disappoint. The mixologists were so much fun & great at showing us how to create our own Hotel Georgia cocktail. Cheers to a wonderful evening!

Amazing experience today. Perfectly crafted cocktails with Eric, the manager who was holding down the fort and creating a wonderful experience for the fully packed space. Well be organizing a group event shortly. Highly recommend for beautifully crafted cocktails

Aaron was amazing! We had an intimate group of 4 for our cocktail making class…It was full of excellent teaching, interesting new ideas and amazing cocktails. 😘

Had a great time at the cocktail making experience! Stayed for a drink afterwards as it was too much a good time to just leave. Aaron was fun and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend!

Such a great cocktail bar! The barman was incredible. He was so welcoming and genuinely passionate about what he does. I came with my partner for a few drinks, but I’m definitely getting all the girls together for a cocktail making class soon! Such a buzz!

Night club
Fortune Sound Club, situated in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown, seamlessly combines the area's historic ambiance with a modern and sleek setting. The club boasts an innovative design, eco-friendly features, and a top-notch Funktion One sound system. Once Mings Chinese Restaurant, the revamped space now showcases recycled materials such as bar and tabletops while also featuring locally made LED lighting and an HVAC system.
Just attended a concert tonight and it was a great venue! Very small but it had a good layout.
Leanne W — Google review
We came to Fortune for a bachelorette party, ready to celebrate — and instead got scammed and ignored. We paid $700 for a 3-bottle table, and they only brought out two. When we asked about the third, the manager casually said, “Yeah, I had the third sign ready… just didn’t bring it out.” What does that even mean? You knew we paid for it and just… didn’t feel like doing your job? And to top it off, our server wasn’t even busy — she was literally sitting at the table next to us drinking with some guys, fully ignoring us like we were invisible. She wasn’t off the clock — she just didn’t care. No apology. No fix. Just gaslighting and attitude from staff who clearly think they’re too cool to do the bare minimum. We planned this night to celebrate our bride — and left feeling disrespected and ripped off. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. Fortune is all flash, no class, and absolutely not worth your time, energy, or money.

I sometimes get invites for events here at fortune night club. They can be sponsored by companies and the service is absolutely fantastic. I always have great experiences here. The decor is up to date. It's very posh and modern. Capacity control is good and above all, it made me want to come back as a customer. Definitely a Vancouver staple for Vancouver nightlife! Cheers 🍻

Probably the worst venue for a concert. It's small and the stage is barely elevated which makes it not visible from the back half of the room. Coat check is right by the entrance which creates congestion as you enter the floor. The extra star is for the staff who got a system going to keep things moving, I was surprised how quickly I was able to enter. Due to the size it's probably much better for a club event than a concert. If you're coming to see an artist here, arrive early and stay as close to the stage as possible
Erich L — Google review
The venue is small, but honestly if you love intimate venues where you feel like a part of the crowd you will love this spot. I would go here for all my shows if I could.

Since when is Fortune a radio one hit wonder club? I thought they were a good rap and hip hop club. Used to be way better back in the day not sure what happened to the music

Went to a Stavros show with Paul Franc opening, who all did electronic with live instruments and it was such and amazing experience, the staff was friendly and quick to serve who a smile

I was able to see an incredible show by Georgias Mattiel here. What an awesome venue! The size is what you want for an intimate concert/show. They support local artists, the drinks are semi-reasonable and the place also doubles as a club. I’d recommend this place if any of your favourite bands are playing here. It has an awesome location, and the aesthetics of the place are just cool.

This trail showcases various interpretations of the classic Nanaimo bar, featuring layers of chocolate, coconut, and custard cream. Originally designed as an energy snack for outdoor enthusiasts, this dessert has become a staple in cafes and bakeries across the city.
Small but mighty! Live music, cozy, classic bar. Like dive feels, but better! This is my favorite place in Nanaimo! The workers are FANTASTIC. Jose works hard, is friendly, and makes great drinks. Sit at the bar, or at a table. Place fills up fast and can become a party. Other nights, quieter and very chill. I love the art hanging up that's local, and supporting local musicians. Thanks for everything!
Delise L — Google review
Was in town for a conference and hit the Nanaimo Bar for two nights of fun. Staff was friendly and drinks came out quickly even with a fairly large party (30+ both nights) on top of regular crowd. Missed the musician on the first night but the DJ on Friday was pretty strong and when our group flooded the dance floor he upped his game to 11. One of those small town bars that have been around forever. It's got some wrinkles but she still knows how to have a good time. Did not have food so no rating.

Drinks were great and everyone was so nice! Chatted with the family who owns the bar as they decorated for Halloween and had a lot of fun. Definitely coming back next time we're in town!

Stopped in here last night on a whim with two friends and had an excellent evening. The staff, Jason, was professional, warm, welcoming and funny and spoke so highly of both the owners and his fellow staff that I didn't want it to go unnoticed. From the quick service, to the great music and selection to of beers/alcohol it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we will be back. The other patrons seemed very comfortable, and there was a wide mix of people which is always lovely to see. Thank you so much for such a great evening!
Brianne M — Google review
Last night, I paid a $20 cover to see a DJ. The music was fine, but the experience was ruined by the male bartender’s behavior. My friend and I ordered one drink each. When he later offered us another round, we both clearly said no and asked for the bill. Despite this, he returned with two more drinks. When we reminded him we hadn’t ordered them, he insisted we had and then slammed his fist on our table when we refused them. This was aggressive, unprofessional, and made us feel unsafe. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone who expects respectful service.

So welcoming and chill! It really feels like the neighborhood bar you want. The drinks are great and the bartender is awesome! I love that you can order food from next door (sushi!) and have it brought to you here!
Aurora C — Google review
We had a lovely visit to the bar. Jason the bar tender was an exceptional host. He was telling us about the owner Sonia, who according to him is an awesome person who tends bar on the weekends and everyone in the community loves her. Sorry we missed you Sonia. As we were drinking our beer, we enjoyed the background music which was upbeat. Overall a positive experience, alas we won't be in town when a band is playing which is our misfortune. I think we would have enjoyed our visit even more. Check it out of you are in the vicinity.
