Chocolate shop
BETA5 Chocolates is a contemporary store and bakeshop located in Vancouver, known for its creative chocolates, baked treats, and ice cream sandwiches. The award-winning patisserie and chocolate makers have gained a loyal following who eagerly line up to indulge in their beloved cream puffs and seasonal confections. Since 2011, BETA5 has been dedicated to crafting memorable experiences through modern pastries and chocolates.
This is one of the go-to chocolate places in Vancouver. While they do charge a premium for their chocolates, it’s worthwhile for a rare indulgence. They also rotate their flavours often to entice you to return. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a special gift for a special someone, or if you’re in the mood to indulge.
Andy C — Google review
This place is magical. One of the top chocolatiers in the world and we’re lucky to have them here in Vancouver. Every special occasion is made even more luminous because of the care they put into their products, designs, flavor combos, and it all yields edible art. Worth the investment to experience Beta5.
Jeanette L — Google review
This place is heavenly. Your first visit will turn into an addiction if you’re a local. They have lots of flavor options and very unique flavor combinations. Super friendly staff. Great prices. Overall if you’re looking for delicious chocolate or sweet treats go here you won’t regret your mouth orgasm!
Coach T — Google review
This is the second time I've ordered a box of assorted chocolates from BETA5. Their online ordering was easy and I appreciated that you can see what each type of chocolate looks like and more so that it's a true representation of what you end up getting. Pickup was a breeze and even though there aren't a lot of parking spaces, I didn't have any issue getting a spot. The storefront seemed very clean and I liked the minimal aesthetic. It really puts all the focus on the product that they have displayed. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a 24 pack of chocolates for a friend's birthday and got to share them with her and a friend. We each had our favorites but they were all delicious and each had a flavor that was unique and distinct from the next. The minimal aesthetic of the storefront is reflected in the simple packaging design and resulted in a big "Wow" factor when opening. The designs of each chocolate are beautiful and made for a great gift.
Brandon M — Google review
Wow these beautiful little chocolates are divine!!! Received them as a gift and every bite was memorable and delicious. Unique flavors and would definitely return to buy more!
Fit K — Google review
Slowly enjoying our treats and chocolate bars. Chocolates are beautiful. Prices for products are a bit higher than expected and staff there seemed lovely. I didn't enjoy the Vanilla latte special drink though; it tasted more bitter than I expected and part of my plastic cup melted with the pouring of the expresso. I tried to place an order for cream puffs yesterday and encountered issues when navigating the site. Reached out for support but currently waiting for a response.
Selena T — Google review
Very nice bakery! The chocolate is so light, airy, creamy and decadent all at once - very unique and not too sweet! Highly recommend the cream puffs, the chocolate one is out of this world. Getting a box is also fun since you get to try more flavours
Forum N — Google review
Their cream puffs always sell out early, which is really frustrating. However, the taste is exceptional, and the designs are incredibly creative. The ice cream sandwiches, though, taste more like frozen chocolate ganache than real ice cream.

Thierry Alberni is a renowned counter-service cafe and shop located on Alberni Street in Vancouver, known for its savory dishes and artisanal confections. The chocolaterie patisserie offers a variety of delectable cakes, including the popular Chocolate Marquise cake and decadent chocolate tart, as well as soft and chewy macarons.
My husband and I visited Thierry Alberni yesterday. We had caramel latte, coffee latte, lemon tart, tiramisu, whisky truffle and Whisky Truffle, everything is so perfect! We also ordered a chocolate Trio cake to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends today! Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
C C — Google review
Pricy downtown coffee shop and bakery. Very fancy looking desserts and a large selection of chocolates. A lot of seating is available outside in nice weather, limited seating inside. Limited service as they don’t bring the items to your table after ordering. The service was pretty slow on a workday at 5pm and many tables were left uncleared. Overall a fine coffee shop for meeting up or a coffee chat.
Shawn — Google review
This coffee and pastry shop is fantastic. They offer a great selection of desserts. I ordered a coffee and one of the desserts, and both tasted really good. I also appreciated the variety of chocolates available. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their delicious treats.
Min N — Google review
I hadn't been here in ages and their desserts are still tasty. Food: 5/5 - a great selection of assorted desserts. They even sell cakes for special occasions. We only had room for something small but next time, we'll be in for the bigger desserts. The macarons had just the right taste of not being too sweet. My favourite was the caramel macaron. Service: 5/5 - great service Atmosphere: 5/5 a nice vibe to the place with either indoor or outdoor seating. It's probably the only great dessert place in central downtown Vancouver. I can't wait to go back there for more desserts.
Melanie E — Google review
A popular dessert shop/bakery with a wide variety of desserts, chocolates and pastries. Chocolate marquise was good but very rich. Millefeuille and raspberry fromage blanc were the highlights. Millefeuille was well balanced with crisp, caramelized layers of puff pastry, and silky rich pastry cream. Raspberry fromage was light, tangy, and had fresh fruit flavors.
Ayush K — Google review
Excellent service and sweet treats. I used to say I don’t like matcha, but I like this matcha. Had the seasonal coconut mango matcha - yum! I recommend sitting with a friend and enjoying the spot.

I visited your café last night and ordered a decaf mocha. It was delicious, but unfortunately, it seems it wasn’t actually decaf — I was awake all night, unable to sleep. I really enjoy your drinks, but this mistake completely ruined my night and affected my whole next day. Please be more careful with decaf orders in the future.

Ice cream shop
Rain or Shine Ice Cream is a beloved establishment with three locations in Vancouver. They are known for their dedication to using local, sustainable, and seasonal ingredients from top British Columbian suppliers. Their homemade ice cream comes in a wide variety of flavors, including classic favorites like chocolate and honey lavender, as well as unique seasonal offerings such as strawberry earl grey and watermelon margarita. In addition to their delicious ice cream, they also offer sundaes and milkshakes.
One of best ice cream you can try. The price is very reasonable. The tastes are great! Specially matcha, London fog, mango, peanut butter, etc. The toping are also so good specially warm chocolate and nuts. I also like the waffle and

Lots of fun and unique flavors of ice cream. I wish they had more vegan options…unfortunately they were out of the one vegan flavor that day. Otherwise, this is a fun place to come on a nice day, and they have outdoor seating.
Rhodes F — Google review
INSANE icecream!! the shop is so cute and they have some outdoor seating too. i finally went today since the line wasn’t down the street for once and i can see why it’s so popular. their taco tuesdays are great value, you can get 2 flavours plus a taco waffle, whipped cream and a topping for just like $1 more than usual ice cream prices. staff are so friendly too, i’d recommend this place to anyone
Cody A — Google review
Rain or Shine Ice Cream is hands down one of the best spots for ice cream in Vancouver! The flavors are creative, rich, and made with fresh, sustainable ingredients — you can really taste the quality. We tried the matcha yuzu and the classic chocolate, both in a waffle cone, and they were absolutely delicious. The cones are crisp and fresh, and the scoops are generous. The shop itself has a fun, quirky vibe — from the purple cow head on the wall to the big flavor board and colorful signage, it feels inviting and unique. Service was friendly and efficient, even with a steady flow of customers. I also love that they sell pints to go, so you can bring your favorite flavors home. Whether it’s a sunny day treat or a rainy Vancouver evening, Rain or Shine truly lives up to its name
Leo P — Google review
Loved the ice cream here, especially the seasonal flavours! You can sample two flavours per person which is really nice to help choose between flavours as they have many intriguing flavours. Salted caramel, balsamic blueberry and lavender flavours were all great. We really enjoyed the seasonal fall flavours, especially pecan pie, apple crumble, and biscoff. Great place for a sweet treat and high quality ice cream!
Forest B — Google review
I love the ice cream here but a few weeks ago I noticed that there are massive clumps of dust hanging from the rafters and the air vents directly over the ice cream. It really ruined the vibes watching some of the chunks hang on for dear life as the air blew them around above the food. I mentioned it quietly to a worker and was disappointed to see that it hadn’t been cleaned when I returned a few weeks later. Truly some of the best ice cream in town but too icky for me to go back until it’s fixed :(
Rae L — Google review
Stopped by Rain or Shine Ice Cream today and tried the Banana Extravaganza while my friend went for the Birthday Cake flavour. The Banana Extravaganza was absolutely outstanding — rich, creamy, and packed with flavour. 🍌 It’s one of those ice creams that makes you stop mid-bite and just appreciate how good it is. Totally worth the price. It’s a seasonal flavour, so I highly recommend grabbing it while it lasts. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and top-quality ice cream — Rain or Shine never disappoints. 💪🍦

Lovely spot for ice cream on West 4th. Love all the seasonal flavors as well as their classics. You also get to try two samples. We got the double scoop in a cup and it was a great serving shared between two people. The biscoff flavor is so good!!

Beaucoup Bakery and Cafe is a charming Parisian-style patisserie with two locations in Vancouver. The original Kitsilano storefront has a cozy atmosphere, while the second location at the St. Regis Hotel downtown offers more seating and a cute patio for people watching.
i came here to try their matcha black sesame melon pan for the cherry blossom festival, and it was absolutely incredible. it wasn’t very sweet at all, but there were really nice and subtle matcha flavour, paired with the creamy, sweet, and a tad salty sesame filling. i loved how CRUNCHY the top was, but one complaint is that the pastry itself wasn’t very soft at all — it was a bit chewy and tough, and not very fresh. they did run out very fast though, so make sure you come earlyyyy if you want to try out the popular festival items.
Katelynn C — Google review
The best double baked almond croissant I’ve ever had in metro Van! I’ve been searching (and searching) but finally found the perfect croissant in terms of flakiness, buttery layers and delicious filling that isn’t too dense or oily. We’ve gotten these several times and while the appearance isn’t always uniform, the taste is consistently good.
Cat D — Google review
It’s such a gem and go to pastry/ coffee shop in the neighborhood for me and partner whenever we have friends/ family visiting, or even for a nice coffee chat/ meeting :) They frequently partner with local organizations such as the NOM magazine for ice cream or cherry blossom festivals and offer limited edition pastries. I gotta say, of all the times I have visited, their pastries have NEVER missed 😮‍💨💛 It’s a bit on the pricier side, and they still do upcharge for dairy alternatives unlike some other coffee shops, but once in a while, it makes for an amazing treat 😏 The service can be a bit inconsistent depending on the barista, but generally they’re very kind and patient :) The other thing is that the store interior is quite small, so it can get crowded and confusing throughout the ordering process. Definitely come if you’re in the area or plan to visit Granville island!
Louis L — Google review
Indulge in some seriously delicious treats. • Apple Ginger Cheesecake – A gingerbread biscuit base topped with a cinnamon-spiced apple cheesecake, finished with salted caramel, sea salt flakes, and crisp apple shards. Autumn in every bite. • Mango Yuzu Cake – Layers of zesty yuzu mousse, silky mango crèmeux, and airy vanilla sponge, crowned with a passionfruit crunch. Bright, tropical, and perfectly balanced between creamy and crisp. • Cappuccino – because every dessert deserves a great coffee companion.
Stanford C — Google review
The atmosphere is very European. The latte was full if flavour as were the pastries. The only thing missing is Gluten free options to go with the latte
Hillbillytc — Google review
It was quite interesting—usually it’s hard to find parking here, and the place is often full. But one day, after dropping a friend off at a nearby lab, I turned the corner and found a parking spot right in front of their door. What are the chances? Of course, I took the opportunity to park and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea!

Thomas Haas is a renowned chocolatier and bakery offering a delightful space to savor handcrafted sweets, pastries, soups, and sandwiches. With over 20 years of experience, this destination dessert spot in Vancouver captivates both locals and tourists with its exquisite chocolates and pastries. The airy cafes in Kitsilano and North Vancouver showcase an array of delectable treats including classic baked goods like pain au chocolat and almond croissants.
The double baked almond croissant is a MUST HAVE! I used to always get the Moroccan chicken as well and having it after about 8 years of not having it was so nostalgic and still tastes the same. The mocha I had was really smooth and I really enjoyed it. We came at around 12 pm on a Saturday and there were many spots since people come and go.
Nikki C — Google review
Their chocolates are outstanding! Super fine, melts your mouth, high quality ingredients, complex and creative flavours, just wow! The definition of a gourmet chocolate. The matcha truffle and cardamom chocolate were awesome. They have two piece gift boxes available that work great for party favors.
Munchica — Google review
In town (Vancouver) from Hawaii to celebrate a loved one's birthday, and was told that this was the place to go for an artisan cake. Bought the small but great-looking matcha one ($48) and carefully walked it back to the condo just two blocks away. Opened the box in the AM to present as part of the gift and found that the cake had melted, with the top mousse layer slipping off into the box. I was very careful with it, and placed it on a flat surface in the fridge, so no reason for it to melt and "disassemble" like it did. Bummed, but still tasty, with the latter accounting for the two-stars of the review score.
Marcus M — Google review
This place has a lot to offer if you enjoy tasty food and treats. Their macaroons were packed full of flavor and they had tons of options. I ended up going twice just to try them all as each one was quite tasty. The staff were friendly and service was fast. Their prices were on par for the area. The other must try item are their soufflés. Overall just come here hungry and leave happy!
Coach T — Google review
Went for the limited edition Koolfest. I got the black forest drink and it was supposed to come with a cherry financier but it looks just like a shortbread cookie to me. I also got the seasonal croissant. The croissant was great, it had raspberry filling inside with maybe some cream and peaches on top. The texture was nice and the filling was not too sweet. The chocolate drink was decadent but good. The cherry compote was a little too sweet for me but I liked the rich chocolate! I didn't taste any cherry in the supposed financier, it just tasted like a normal shortbread cookie but it was still good though. Even though I went on a weekday, it was kinda busy, I got a seat but the tables are close to one another. The staff are nice and quick! Their chocolates and croissants/danishes are always superb! Can't wait to try other things!
Dahlia T — Google review
We visited the Thomas Haas Kitsilano location to pick up an online cake order. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately transported back to Europe--the look and feel of the café felt so familiar, especially after having just returned from France, Barcelona, and Italy the previous week. The staff was wonderful and carefully packaged the Black Forest Cake for my husband's birthday. It's his favorite cake, and we ended up getting the 10-12 person size for our group of six. Oh well, more delicious leftovers for the next few days! The cake was incredibly decadent, featuring Kirsch-scented chocolate cake with Kirsch Chantilly and fresh cherry compote on a shortbread base. It was a perfect celebration cake. I am looking forward to coming back for coffee and treats; I couldn't take my eyes off the pastries and sweets in the display case.

Passion8 Dessert Cafe is a modern haven in Vancouver, offering a variety of Korean-style sweet treats and comforting espresso beverages. Renowned for its Bingsoo, this contemporary dessert cafe serves up imaginative Korean-style desserts along with espresso drinks. The menu includes decadent cakes, sandwiches, salads, Toastery, Paninis, and Pastries.
Passion8 Dessert Cafe is a great spot to satisfy your sweet tooth. The standout feature of this cafe is their Snow Bingsoo, a must-try dessert that’s so popular you’ll see it on almost every table. It’s a unique and enjoyable experience that sets this place apart. The staff and the barista were incredibly nice and welcoming, which made the visit even better. If you’re looking for a cozy place with delicious desserts and friendly service, I absolutely recommend Passion8 Dessert Cafe!

Went on a Thursday afternoon and its not busy. A lot of table for seating and the place is clean. We ordered the injulmi and matcha bingsoo. I love the injulmi it’s creamy and love the soft mochi texture. The green tea is good too but the matcha flavour is a bit too strong for me.
Areumhee 1 — Google review
Service is relatively quick. Ordered a mango bingsoo. Tasty. Sweeter than other bingsoo place that we have tasted. Mango was abundant. However price is on the high end. Cheesecake was good too. Would definitely repeat again on a hot sunny day
Nuzaihan R — Google review
I ordered a mango snow, but it arrived completely melted. The delivery took about 40 minutes, and they didn’t even use an insulated bag. By the time it arrived, it was just sweet milk soup instead of shaved ice. Cannot bear it since I paid about 30 bucks to get this. Very disappointing.
Hyeon — Google review
Passion8 Dessert Cafe probably serves the best Bingsoo in Vancouver. Their Snow Bingsoo is just as good as the top ones I’ve had in Seoul, Korea. The Injeolmi Bingsoo comes with Korean rice cake and roasted bean powder, giving it a wonderfully nutty and wholesome flavor. The strawberry Bingsoo is topped with fresh real fruit, which tastes incredibly refreshing. The hazelnut latte and tiramisu were also excellent. Parking is available, which is a nice bonus. The staff were very friendly and took the time to explain the menu, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It’s the first place that comes to mind whenever I want Bingsoo or a cozy place to enjoy a cup of coffee!

We had a great time at Passion8 Dessert Cafe! We tried the Hazelnut and Matcha lattes. The Tiramisu croffle was wonderful—crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. Highly recommended! The service was friendly. The interior was basic and not as aesthetic as some other cafes, but their delicious desserts more than made up for it. The cafe is conveniently located along Cambie Street, and parking was easy—perhaps because we visited after dinner service. Paid $30.60 for two with tip. We’ll definitely be back!
Celina A — Google review
A good friend had invited me out for dessert. I've heard good things about this place and was very excited. From start to finish the service is good. There's plenty of parking around that is free too. It's a small place so waiting for a table may be expected. I got the chocolate bingso and did not expect it to look so cute LOL. I enjoyed it very much. My friend stuck with the mango bingso and said it was delicious. The place has air conditioning which is nice. I would definitely come back again to try the tiramisu.

Very tasty dessert, eats injeolmi snow, is very tasty and refreshing, especially during summer. they also provide self-serve lemon water.Price is quite expensive, $21.50 for large order. Just basically slush ice, but don't get me wrong, it is good. Their place also pretty nice and very clean.

Ice cream shop
Coffee store
Soft Peaks Ice Cream is an upscale dessert shop located in Gastown, Vancouver. Founded by brothers Dan and Ken Kim, the shop has gained popularity for its 100% organic soft-serve ice cream made from locally sourced Avalon milk. The menu features a variety of toppings including Fraser Valley honeycomb, yuzu marmalade, Tim Tam cookie crumbles, organic maple syrup, and Himalayan pink salt. The ice cream is known for its smooth texture and not-too-sweet flavor.
Saw this place on TikTok a couple of years ago and finally tried it! I selected the Brown Sugar Pearls with the Cookie Butter soft serve base (please note that soft serve bases rotate and this specific soft serve base that I had may not be available), you also have the option to have either soft serve base or twist (two soft serve bases twisted together). Ice cream was super creamy and soft, and the pearls were surprisingly super soft. Not overly sweet, though it may it get very sweet towards the bottom, but I believe mine just got more syrup than needed. The staff were super friendly, and location is just about a couple of blocks from the steam clock, so super walkable!
Alyssa R — Google review
Finally an ice cream with less sugar made with organic milk! I liked the taste of the ice cream because it wasn't oversweetened. They have different flavored syrup and they add it to the ice cream which makes it even tastier.
Heyam — Google review
Tried out soft peaks after all this time and all the hype I've been hearing. The service is amazing first of all, they really take their time with every customer. Prices are also very reasonable for a good quality ice cream. I really enjoyed mine and my friend loved hers. The whole staff loves dogs too. I would definitely come back again.
Eddy W — Google review
Finally trying soft peaks after seeing it all over my Instagram feed, and I’m so happy to report that it absolutely lived up to the hype I have built up in my head over the years and then some 🥲🥲💛 First of all, the service:, it was a busy Friday night in Gastown and the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival is on. They managed to be so patient and kind throughout the entire process, and though the ordering process can be kind of confusing (you pick the topping/ flavor, then the soft serve itself/ base), they still walked us through it despite the business. The soft serve is quite unlike any ice cream we’ve tried before, you can taste its creaminess and freshness from the first bite to the end. I think what really blew us away is the little nugget of treasure they put at the bottom (if you know, you know 😉). So often, when you get to the bottom of the cone, it just feels empty without any traces of ice cream left, so I so appreciate the extra mile they go to make the whole experience just that much extra special 💛 The Gastown flavour is to die for. I can’t wait to come back to try everything else 😭
Louis L — Google review
Loved it!! This was my first visit and it was as one of the best sundaes I've ever had. The chocolate ice cream was smooth, creamy, rich and chocolatey. The cherry 🍒 compote was full of rich, intense, sweet, whole cherries with a juicy, slightly chewy texture. Chocolate shavings and a fresh cherry on top added a final boost of flavour and crunch. The staff was helpful and answered my questions. There is a points program to get free sundaes. I'll never want to go back to fast food soft serve after trying this high quality next level treat.

The best soft serve spot in Vancouver!! They use Avalon milk so the soft serve is milky and creamy. Other than the classic flavours, the seasonal ones are also unique but not overly sweet!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some good soft serve in Vancouver! ___________ UPDATE: Came back to try the salted egg yolk soft serve that is only available for a limited time and OMG IT WAS SO AMAZING!!

Creamy milky delicious soft serve, pairs well with honey 🍯 The Gastown is good, getting it with the twist (plain + dark chocolate milk) really makes it taste like a tiramisu. Comes with a lady finger and cocoa powder and coffee.

Crackle Creme is a charming and rustic-chic dessert cafe located in Vancouver, offering an array of innovative flavors of cre brulee, alongside authentic Belgian liege waffles and espresso drinks. The menu features an ever-changing selection of imaginative cre brulee flavors such as Salted Caramel, Pandan Coconut, Ferrero Rocher, and unique options like Vietnamese coffee and cereal milk.
Crackle Creme in Vancouver is a delightful little dessert shop that’s perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth! Their crème brûlée is absolutely heavenly—perfectly creamy with a flawlessly caramelized top. The variety of flavors is impressive, and each one is crafted with care and attention to detail. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. It’s a great spot to treat yourself or share some indulgent desserts with friends. However, I did try their matcha latte and found that it had matcha crumbles in it, which wasn’t quite what I expected. While it didn’t ruin the drink, a smoother texture would have made it more enjoyable. That said, the overall experience at Crackle Creme was fantastic, and I’d highly recommend it for their signature crème brûlées and charming vibe! Just something to keep in mind if you’re ordering the matcha latte.

first time trying durian crème brûlée and wowow, would come back just for that but i want to try all the other flavours too! vietnamese coffee ice cream was super flavourful and strong. strawberry matcha latte was yummy. the cute macarons at the front are a cute trap!
Synthia S — Google review
I was introduced to this dessert cafe by a friend. They specialize in two things: character macarons and creme brulee, and also coffee and tea beverages. The creme brulee comes in an assortment of unique flavours. They have both regular and vegan creme brulee, and the vegan flavours are just as interesting and varied as the regular flavours. I got there a little early, so while waiting for my friend to arrive I had a Thai jasmine iced tea. This was really good - the rich creaminess and sweetness of Thai tea with a strong and fragrant jasmine green tea instead of the usual red. Once my friend got there, we ordered creme brulee. I got the vegan durian and she got the lychee yogurt flavour. We sampled each others' creme brulees and both were delicious! The lychee yogurt creme brulee tasted just like lychee yogurt bubble tea and even had coconut jelly pieces inside. I didn't notice a big difference in consistency between the vegan and non-vegan creme brulee. Really friendly staff. The shop is a little small, and unfortunately does not have a customer washroom, but there are some stools along a counter inside (with hooks underneath for bags and coats) and a few seats outside. This stretch of Union Street is one of the quieter commercial streets in Strathcona/Chinatown, and I would happily sit outside here on a nice day.
Dana S — Google review
Stopped by Crackle Crème on Union St for a dessert fix and it didn’t disappoint! The apple pie crème brûlée was spot on because it really captured that apple pie flavor, even the crust, without the crust texture (pretty cool, actually). The honey lavender was smooth and fragrant, though definitely a more mature flavor so the kids gave it a thumbs down. The alfajor was delicious but I wish it had that chocolate dip like they do in Argentina. The macarons were cute, just okay flavor-wise. I wished I had time to try some drinks but a charming little spot with creative twists on classic sweets.

Wow! What an explosion of flavours. If you're craving sweet things, that's the spot for you. I finally found a place that makes a good Basque cheesecake. We also tried their icecream (Vietnamese coffee and chocolate) and it was super yummy. We'll definitely be back.

I heard about this shop on social media and decided to come in. It's a small shop and out front it has a few seats for patrons. I love it cause in the summer the dogs can hang out front. Daniel, the shop keeper, keeps it clean out front too. I saw him spraying down the side walk with hot water. Upon entering it's a cozy setup. Daniel is definitely a cartoon/car guy. He noticed my dogs inside my car as well, a dog lover. He's got a cute setup going on with his waffles and macarons up front, casual cafe menu, and a little fridge with cold drinks to grab and go. I brought a friend back and she ordered the waffle, oh man it was good! That waffle was better then cafe medinas, seriously. It's moist. Cafe medinas waffles are overhyped and a bit dry. I got the half dozen macarons and the characters are pretty cute lol. His concept definitely sells for originality. Classical culinary cooking modified to his own. Each character has its own flavor, for example, the keeropi frog is pistachio. The packaging is a clean and neat slide box, with a see through screen on top for viewing, very very cool. Price after taxes is 18 bucks for a half dozen, reasonable for the amount of work involved for a one man team. These make an amazing gift for someone.

I've been here more times than I can count! The creme brule is always delicious and unique. Cute cozy interior as well, a perfect place to head for dessert :)

We ordered three crème brûlées here, which were very interesting. It was my first time to eat it, but my friends had tried it. It had an interesting atmosphere and our order was prepared quickly. Just remember that there is usually no parking space on the main street and it is better to park your car in the surrounding alleys

Great spot for a quality bakery item and coffee at the airport. Got an almond croissant and oat flat white, both of which were great. Customer service is also great with pleasant people working at the counter. The scones are really nice as well.

The chocolate almond croissant is chewy, delicious, and just the right sweetness — the chocolate isn’t too sweet, and the almond bits really elevate the flavor. 😋✨ Plus, the black coffee is served hot and tastes great. Simple, fresh, and satisfying! ☕🥐

This bakery is such a gem at the airport—super convenient and a total must-visit! Whether you’re just arriving or about to catch a flight, it’s so easy to swing by and grab some fresh, delicious bread. They’ve got a great variety, from classic baguettes to unique sweet and savory options. Every bite feels so fresh, with that perfect crispy crust and soft, fluffy inside. It’s nothing like the usual airport food—you can tell they put a lot of care into what they make. What really stood out to me was the service. The staff are always friendly, smiling, and super quick to help. If you’re in a rush, they’ll recommend options that are easy to take with you and even package them up quickly so you can be on your way. If you’ve got time to kill before your flight, you can just sit back, enjoy some freshly baked bread with a hot cup of coffee, and completely forget about the stress of traveling. The prices are also surprisingly reasonable for airport food, and the quality is way better than you’d expect. Plus, the bread stays fresh for a while, so it’s perfect to snack on during the flight or even to bring home as a little gift for family or friends. If you’re at the airport and need something tasty and convenient, this bakery is hands down the place to go. I’ll definitely be stopping by again on my next trip!

Disappointed in the Filipino barista lady who when I asked to put less ice poured me 1/2 cup iced latte with mostly milk and asked do I want more milk instead of pouring more coffee. On top of that; the Blondie and Cookie given was hard with the butter/oil residue hardened at the bottom. Mind you it was right when they opened. I had expected they had baked fresh pastries at the start, but instead received yesterday’s old baked goods. When I asked to get another one since it was old, he said no, you touched it. Felt ignored and cheated for something I paid for. Complete 180 degrees on what it used to be when I came to YVR Airport 3 years ago, heading back to Montreal with absolute horrid experience at this location.

Cartems Donuts is a popular spot in Vancouver known for its delicious donuts, including a variety of vegan options. With two locations in downtown Vancouver and Mount Pleasant, they take pride in using locally sourced ingredients to create freshly baked, never frozen donuts. Customers rave about the unique flavors such as pumpkin chai and smoked walnut, as well as the rich pumpkin flavor in their seasonal offerings.
This spot is easily one of my all-time favorite cafes. They’ve really nailed the art of making donuts that are flavorful, balanced, and just downright enjoyable. None of that overly sweet, generic, maple syrup dripping stuff here—each donut feels like it was made with care. The baked ones are rich, soft, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Their salted caramel donut? A total game-changer. I’ve never had a bad donut here, and the monthly specials are always fun to try. Plus, they’re very inclusive because most of their donuts are vegan, and the baked ones are gluten-friendly. Initially i was pulled in by its interior— the brick walls, wooden furniture, and a double-ceiling aesthetic that gives the space a distinct, spacious feel. Their drinks are on point too. I always grab a coffee—it’s the perfect sidekick to a donut. But I was definitively blown away by their salted caramel, peppermint mocha, and pumpkin spice latte—they were so good I had to personally tell the barista it was the best coffee I’ve had in Canada! That said, the shop does get busy, and slightly expensive than say, timbits. Smart designing mades sure the space isn’t cramped, but seating is somewhat limited.

i came here for the first time because i heard it was closing and it’s always been on my list, and it really is such a bummer because the donuts were really quite good. i tried the salted chocolate baked donut and the pistachio raspberry jelly, and i think i preferred the salted chocolate. they were both fresh and super duper soft, but they were a tad sweet (especially the raspberry jelly). the salted chocolate wasn’t really that salty??? but i actually liked the texture of the baked donut i thought it was really cool. the white chocolate on the pistachio donut was also a really nice touch. the donuts are also pretty large. i wanted to try the apple fritter but ended up not getting it - i guess i will never experience a cartems apple fritter donut 😕

The london fog donut was the best. All others are equally delicious and have good texture. Hope they will reopen in the future!

I love that this place caters exclusively to those seeking gluten-free or vegan donuts that are still delicious and full of flavor. Not many places are this inclusive and thoughtful. I’m a big fan of Cartems—they really have a secret sauce when it comes to their donuts. However, the space on Main feels quite bare, and it doesn’t have much of a vibe, so it’s not the kind of place where you’d necessarily want to stay and hang out. That’s why I’m giving it four stars. That said, the donuts are still a must-try and a staple in Vancouver's food scene and well worth it especially their glazed and citrus flavours.
AB — Google review
I’ve gotten cartems many times over the years and their classic Earl grey donut is my favourite - it is packed with earl grey flavour. Secondly I would recommend their London Fog or Vanilla Bean. The donuts are not overly sweet and have a great texture (either fluffy or dense depending on the type). They always have new monthly specials and the flavours are creative and unique sometimes (like black sesame or mango). This location particularly I visited recently and the staff are friendly and kind & they even give away samples to try and unsold remaining donuts to customers near the end of the day. Delicious donuts either way but also perfect for my vegan and GF friends / family.
Anna — Google review
I love their baked donuts - these are probably my favourite donuts anywhere! They have this melt-in-your-mouth softness and the flavours are always on point. Their regular (fried) cake donuts also have great flavours but are very saturated with oil, almost to the point of being "wet", so I don’t really go for these anymore. I don’t have the same problem with the yeast donuts, though - these are not too oily and really fluffy. The monthly specials are usually interesting which keeps me coming back! As a bonus, the majority of the offerings are vegan and the baked ones are gluten-friendly. All the drinks available to accompany your donut are great. They always steam my caffe lattes perfectly and they know how to do matcha properly! The atmosphere is very cozy and warm with the brick walls and wooden furniture. It's an older building and has a distinct look. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I'm happy that they've recently updated their hours to be open earlier AND they commit to having all the donuts ready to go right from opening so I can count on being able to get what I want!
Dana S — Google review
Always love a stop at Cartems! It was our first time at their Main Street location. Friendly staff. We came on a weekend shortly before closing, and they luckily still had some GF/vegan donut selection! Their Baked Earl Grey is my favourite of that bunch as the glaze has such a potent tea flavour. The Taro Coconut (June special) was great with a creamy filling infused with both flavours. Very comforting and felt like a Hawaiian inspired treat. The Smoked Maple Walnut was a tad too smoky for our liking (the walnuts), but that's just a preference. Each donut is between $4 to $5, and there's slight savings when purchasing half or a full dozen. Not an everyday treat, but certainly a favourite when I'm craving some unique donuts, and a good vegan and gluten free option!

Nana's Green Tea is a Japanese cafe in Vancouver that offers a contemporary ambiance and authentic flavors of Japan. The cafe provides fancy teas, miso soup, and delightful desserts like Matcha Soft Serve with Shiratama and Matcha Shiratama Float. The spotless environment with ample indoor and outdoor seating makes it perfect for small groups or solo indulgence.
This cafe serves matcha-based (and other Japanese-flavoured) desserts and drinks and some Japanese comfort meals. The sweets are their speciality but I do like the savoury dishes too, they're simple but it's a refreshing style of food and they seem to use good ingredients including fresh seafood. I have tried the ikura & salmon and teriyaki unagi dashi chazukes, and the tofu & avocado donburi (this is the one vegetarian savoury and it's kind of a "secret menu" item in fine print as a variation on the tuna w/ avocado donburi). The teriyaki unagi dashi chazuke is the clear winner out of these three for me since the teriyaki delivers a lot of flavour, but all were enjoyable. As for the namesake desserts and drinks, the three matcha treats that I have tried (matcha tiramisu, matcha basque cheesecake, matcha gateau chocolat) all carried a strong matcha flavour, not too sweet, and are just generally good baking. The traditional matcha (they call it “matcha espresso” to show that it’s like a shot in size and concentration; it doesn’t contain espresso) was pleasant and mildly umami. The hot tea is great and the adzuki latte was also really nice - very light earthy flavour but lots of red bean. The cold brew hojicha is my favourite so far, though, it was very refreshing and had a nice clean taste. I've been three times over the past few years and maybe it's just the menu items that I've picked, but I feel like the quality has been slightly upped each time, which is a relief to see in an era where it's mostly the opposite happening. The staff is nice and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. They have kiosk ordering, which isn’t my favourite, but the kiosks are easy to use. The staff is polite. The new Mount Pleasant location has a fair amount of seating at large communal tables.
Dana S — Google review
First time visiting since they moved from Kerrisdale. A bit pricey, but the hojicha warabimochi parfait was great. The matcha tiramisu was okay—might try something else next time. The place feels modern but still cozy.
G S — Google review
Three self order kiosks at front entrance with plenty of seating. Strong, fragrant matcha flavour in the ice cream. Rice bowls are a quick healthy fix for hunger. Single washroom for customers that is decently sized and relatively clean.
M L — Google review
Nana’s Green Tea is a great spot for dessert, especially on a nice day when you can enjoy their outdoor patio. While $18 for a parfait feels a bit steep, it’s likely a reflection of the times and rising costs everywhere. Still, the quality and experience make it worth considering for a treat if you’re in the area.
Will T — Google review
Nana's Green Tea is a Japanese style dessert cafe in East Vancouver. I enjoyed a parfait on a late night drive. Touch screen order kiosks and industrial style made it feel impersonal. The parfait was beautifully presented and ice cream was delicious.

The cafe is cute. Had the sesame croissant whcih was delicous with tons of pleasently sweetened black sesame custard. Also had the apple custard red bean danish which was sweet but the flavours were complentary. The surrounding area is colourful

I always come here for the matcha latte or frappe! Their red bean and soft serve ice cream is so good too!!! This is definitely one of my fav places. I always come here if I want to treat myself or introduce my friends to the pure awesomeness of matcha✨
Almas A — Google review
It was overall okay — thank you for using good quality matcha, I really appreciated that, and the ice cream itself was very good with a nice matcha flavor. 🍵✨ However, I didn’t quite understand the rice balls, as they were rather tasteless, and the pineapple pieces also lacked flavor. The shaved ice with matcha was way too sweet — it would be much better with less sugar. So overall, I’d give it around 3–4 stars. Thank you for the matcha quality!

Located in the lively Granville Island Public Market in Vancouver, Lee's Donuts has been a beloved food stall since 1979. This iconic shop is known for its exceptional service and mouthwatering donut creations. Despite potential wait times, visitors are captivated by the wonderfully soft, light, and flavorful donuts. The most popular item is the Honey Dip, a honey glazed handmade donut that has garnered a strong following over the years.
A must stop! Absolutely delicious cake donuts worth the wait in line and braving the crowds at the public market. The line moves quickly and the staff is very friendly. Donuts are a generous size and filling. Bavarian cream was fantastic and Lee’s does not skimp on the filling. You’ll be sorry if you visit Granville Island and don’t have Lee’s!

Lee’s Donuts is a Vancouver classic and totally worth the hype. The line was long when we arrived (wrapped around the building!) but it moved surprisingly fast. We tried a variety of their glazed donuts, including the famous Honey Dip, jelly donut, cookie monster and maple donut. Everything was super fresh, moist, and just the right amount of sweet. You can really taste the difference in quality. This was our second visit in four years, and both times the donuts have been consistently delicious. A must-stop if you’re visiting Granville Island!
Kingsville F — Google review
I am not a fan of donuts, but I still find Lee’s donuts pretty good! They were freshly made, and not too greasy. There is always a line, depending on the length, but it goes relatively quick. It is just for take out after all. If you buy six donuts, you can get a box. Now I finally understand why everyone walking around with a box in their hands! It would be much easier to carry the donuts away. We did not do that as there were only two of us. Would recommend that, though.

First time here& continuing my food tour of the city through Granville Island. I’m not a fan of cake donuts, but was pleasantly surprised at these donuts. The cake donuts were not overly dry & perfect for splitting between 3 people as a dessert tasting. We split the raspberry jelly donut which wasn’t overly sweet. We came at a good time on the weekend & didn’t have to wait very long in line. Per my cousin (who lives here) it is quite busy in the morning when they open up due to the fact that they have more varieties & the freshness of them. They have a big variety & I recommend trying them.
S W — Google review
Yummy & fresh donuts. I got the butter crunch, vanilla curd, and honey dip as recommended by the employee and enjoyed them all. Only downside was they came in a plain old paper bag - they had just glazed the honey dip so it made quite the mess… wish we got a box but you probably have to buy more to achieve that luxury lol. The logo & graphics of the business are super cute & memorable!
Danielle G — Google review
This is the most popular doughnut shop in the Granville market. There is always a queue at this location and the queue is long enough to extend out of the market. The service however is usually fast, but with only one person at checkout it does take time. Really liked the staff though who explained the type of doughnuts available and pricing around them. They do sell out of their trademark jelly doughnuts towards the end of the day. The pricing is better when three or more doughnuts are bought simultaneously. A nice place nothing extraordinary though.

Im a big sweets lover! Specifically donuts. This was suppose to be a cinnamon churro cake donut. It wasn’t good. Lacks flavor, the texture isn’t good. Dry. Took one bite and threw it out. Tim’s is better.. disappointing!
KAIT P — Google review
Lee’s Donuts was incredible when they first opened and quickly became a favorite on Granville Island. Over time, as they scaled, the quality seems to have gone down a bit. The donuts really need to be eaten the same day because they become hard relatively quickly. That said, they are still tasty, and my favourite is the bavarian which is always worth getting fresh.

In addition to the delectable pastries, Bel Café also excels in muffins, scones, danishes and light lunches.
I’ve always loved Bel Café; the vibe and energy are uplifting and refreshing. The staff are genuinely warm, and the customer service has always stood out. Recently, I’ve been visiting more frequently due to work and meetings, and each time makes me want to come back even more. The savory treats are delicious, the space is impeccably clean, and the atmosphere is unlike any other café. It’s a place that truly cares, and it shows.

I used to come to Bel Café for coffee and pastries, and it was always a nice treat. I went back this weekend for breakfast, hoping for the same experience, but it missed the mark. My partner’s burrito came out with the wrap almost burnt and still cold inside. My avocado toast was just… okay. The bread wasn’t freshly toasted or even warm, and it didn’t feel like anything special. At least the coffee was good! For the price, though, I expected more. Not the Bel Café I remember.

Very pleasant Cafe at 2pm on a Thursday in August. The decaf cappuccino was a little on the bitter side but not a complaint as my wife likes her coffee that way. It was nicely accented with the fig pastry we ordered. My wife reports that the washroom was very clean. We would recommend this place.
Jerry T — Google review
We’ve been coming here for breakfast and and lunch for years—we love their food and bakery pastries. However, the parking and traffic in downtown have become difficult and expensive, which is why we hadn’t visited in a while. But while running errands in downtown recently, I decided to stop by, and I was reminded of how much I love this place. So much so, that I ended up visiting twice this week! Many reviews mention that the prices are on the higher side, but I found the quality and pricing to be very competitive, especially with their daily deals, which are great value. On Tuesday, I had a breakfast sandwich and drip coffee. The breakfast sandwich was exceptional, elevating simple ingredients to a new level. The combination of flavorful mushrooms, crispy bacon, soft eggs, and fresh arugula on the perfectly fresh bread was hard to beat. The drip coffee was equally impressive, with its fruity notes and excellent balance. On Friday, I bought two bakery items to take home: a vegan Earl Grey loaf and Cherry, Dark Chocolate & Vanilla Pain Suisse! They looked beautiful and fresh. For breakfast, I enjoyed the daily deal—avocado with fried egg on sourdough toast and another drip coffee. Once again, I was not disappointed. The egg yolk was perfectly runny, and the toast was spot-on. However, there is some room for improvement. After placing my order, no one called out when it was ready, so I ended up waiting longer than necessary on Tuesday. Today, they forgot to include my coffee. It feels like there’s a lack of attention after the payment process.
Candy L — Google review
The food and drinks here are top quality as far as coffee shop fare goes. They often have unique seasonal food and drinks. The sandwiches are delicious, filling, and interesting. They're made to order. For baked goods, the scone and plain croissants are good but not especially remarkable, but the desserts are very good and beautifully crafted. Great drinks too, both the coffee/tea and cold beverages. The food prices are notably higher than average for downtown cafes; I think sandwiches are like $16+ if I remember correctly. You get what you pay for but it's still enough that I come here for lunch as an occasional treat rather than a common thing. The baristas are generally friendly. Never too long of a wait for food when factoring in how busy they are. They do get busy and it's often loud inside, so I would not recommend coming here for long periods to do work, it's more of an coffee and chat place.

Stumbled on this gem while staying in Downtown Vancouver and looking for a great Latte. This is a cute place and is busy in the morning! I had a 12oz Vanilla Latte that was excellent. We shared a breakfast sandwich and a strawberry danish - both very good! The Danish was a little on the sweet side so keep that in mind when ordering. We have one more morning here and I’ll be back to try another pastry and of course another Latte!

Amazing and delicious flavors! Everything in compostable and they let you try as many flavours as you want before picking one. One scoop does only allow you one flavor but it’s a pretty big scoop. Def check it out if you are in the area! The whiskey hazelnut, green tea, London fog were so good

Earnest Ice Cream in Vancouver is highly praised for its quality, unique flavors, and generous portions. Reviewers consistently highlight the deliciousness of flavors like London Fog, Salted Caramel, and Whiskey Hazelnut, with many also mentioning the excellent vegan options. While lines can be long, especially at peak times, the friendly service and quick moving lines make it worth the wait. Despite long lines, the staff at Earnest Ice Cream are often friendly, helpful, and efficient 😊 Earnest Ice Cream is known for its great selection of vegan ice cream, with flavors like vegan Cookies and Cream being particularly popular. Earnest Ice Cream has multiple locations in Vancouver, including a new spot on Frances Street. I personally frequent the Fraser Street or Olympic Village locations. Definitely worth the try. One of Vancouver’s finest local ice creams.

Earnest Ice Cream consistently delivers some of the best ice cream in Vancouver. You can really taste the quality in every scoop — rich, creamy, and not overly sweet. The Salted Caramel is a classic for a reason, but their seasonal flavors (like Rhubarb Oat Crumble or Whiskey Hazelnut) are where they really shine. Love their commitment to sustainability too — the reusable glass jars are a great touch. Staff are friendly, and the vibe is always warm and inviting. Perfect for a treat after dinner or an afternoon stroll. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Vancouver or just want to support a thoughtful local business.

AMAZING best ice cream I’ve had to date. The selection of unique flavours was almost as sweet as the amazing staff who are eager to ensure you are satisfied when you walk out that door they offer unlimited samples and are gonna make sure you made the right selection when you re done thanks again!

It was our first time at Ernest Ice Cream, and we’re already hooked! We tried 🍑peach & cream, 🌰hazelnut & whiskey, and 🍫chocolate! each one was pure perfection. The flavors were rich, creamy, and unforgettable. Even better, everything was compostable and nature-friendly, which made the experience sweeter. A must-visit for anyone who loves ice cream in Vancouver!

Ernest Ice Cream was the perfect end to our Friday date night! After dinner, we wandered over for dessert and were so impressed by both the unique flavors and quality. I tried the sweet corn and blueberries - which sounds unusual but was absolutely incredible! The sweet corn base was creamy and subtly sweet, and the blueberries added the perfect burst of freshness. John went with the key lime pie and it was like having the actual dessert in ice cream form - tart, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The staff was knowledgeable about the flavors and happy to let us sample before deciding. The quality is clearly top-notch - you can taste that they use real, premium ingredients. The shop has a great vibe too, perfect for a casual date night stroll. We're already planning our next visit to try more flavors. If you're looking for creative, high-quality ice cream in Vancouver, Ernest is a must-try!

Although there was a lineup, it didn't take very long for them to get our orders. Ordered Whiskey Hazelnut, Cannoli, and Matcha. All very good!

Got to try this place years back when visiting Vancouver and couldn’t forget the unique flavour - basil ice cream we’ve had the last time! Knew we had to be back and knew we wouldn’t be disappointed. An iconic place! Pic of recent menu attached. We’ve had the matcha and Tahitian vanilla ( they are also so so good together on a cone!) and Blackberry Conrinader (yep! You’ve read that right!) it was fresh in all best possible ways. Don’t be shy, try it so you can brag to your friends you’ve had a coriander ice cream. The matcha was also perfect not sweet at all and smooth no fishy flavour here - 10/10 for me! Line was long but the staff was amazing and kept it moving along well! Thanks again! Until next visit to Vancouver!

The best quiche I've ever had!!! I thought I never liked quiche, it turned out that the quiche I had before was not good. We came with a friend who highly recommended this pie shop. I ordered one piece of mushroom and spinach quiche to share with my husband. After the first bite, I literally ran to the counter to order another piece. That's how good it is.
Melinda W — Google review
Had the most ridiculous and disappointing experience. Food was way below average, I got a spinach and wild mushroom quiche - it was strangely undercooked and the crust was completely soggy and lacked flavour. Not to mention it's unnecessarily overpriced. The server was rude and had an attitude, I asked her for my bill - she gave me my card receipt and walked off. Needless to say I will not be returning, far far better coffee spots around the block.
Sehaj K — Google review
Ordered an a quiche to go for dinner. The quiche filling was good but the dough was uncooked. Even after 45 minutes in the oven still raw. For $47 that’s awful! Very disappointed.
JudyandRay S — Google review
Picked up a too good to go offer and was not impressed with my surprise bag selection just being half of pie that slightly tasted like vinegar. I wouldn't go back personally. I watched them pour mixed chai out of a plastic Tupperware when they charge $17 for a slice of pie and chai.

This pie shop is an absolute gem, and I have to give major props to their social media marketing! Seriously, that's how I discovered them, and I'm so glad I did. Their online presence is fantastic the photos of their pies are mouth-watering, and their posts always highlight the incredible variety they offer. It really built up the anticipation, and let me tell you, the pies lived up to the hype and then some. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The aroma of freshly baked goods was intoxicating, and the display of pies was a work of art. Each slice is a perfect balance of flaky crust and delicious filling. Truly a delightful experience, all thanks.

Seriously, if you love pie, you must visit this place. This isn't just pie; it's a culinary revelation. Every slice features a golden, melt in your mouth crust and fillings bursting with flavor. From spiced apple to decadent chocolate and vibrant berry crumble, the quality is unmatched. It's more than dessert it's an unforgettable experience.

I ordered 3 different pie slices to go, they all ended up being days old, not fresh. The price point for these is very high for what you get. The person taking my order let another person cut inline in front of me while I was in the middle of making my selection. If you take takeout they will bring it from the back and not the fridge in front, so you have no chance of seeing how fresh they were. Extremely disappointed with this place.
Dmitryv V — Google review
Pie shop and cafe with homey decor. The two dessert pies I’ve tried (lemon meringue and raspberry chocolate cream) are delicious and substantial - absolutely worth the money. They have savoury pies and quiche too, and sometimes sandwiches. The roasted red pepper, spinach, and goat cheese quiche I tried was very good too - it had different layers of caramelized onion, creamy egg and cheese, and a veg-heavy top layer, and the crust was flaky and rich like the dessert pie crusts. They have a great selection of specialty tea drinks - the house chai latte is quality and they have a turmeric latte which is one of my favourites. Good food all around. A little pricey but it pays off in the quality and quantity of what you get. Taking off a star because on my most recent visit they messed up every item I ordered. Before I paid, I changed my drink order from a turmeric latte to an iced mint green tea and was only charged for the iced tea, but they made both drinks, leaving me with a hot drink I did not want. They gave me the wrong slice of pie at first. Some time after we’d all gotten our (correct) dessert pies and the others with me had gotten their savoury pies, I still hadn’t gotten my quiche, so I went up to ask about it and they’d forgotten to put it in. The handling of each issue was fine but it was frustrating that it happened with 3 different items. Also I don’t like that the default for hot drinks seems to be to give you a disposable cup even when you order for dine-in despite the fact that they have ceramic mugs, and don’t tell you they’re going to give you a disposable. I hope they rethink that because that must be a huge number of cups wasted on people who would’ve been fine with a house mug.

Bakery
Cadeaux Bakery is a popular bakeshop known for its sweet treats and custom cakes, all prepared in a stylish and airy setting. One of their signature creations is the London Fog cake, featuring white vanilla bean cake with white chocolate mousse, milk chocolate Earl grey ganache, and Earl grey tea soaking syrup. The bakery takes pride in using real butter in their pastries, such as the all-butter croissant and dark Callebaut chocolate croissant.
I cannot recommend this bakery enough!!!! I ordered two of their cakes, one ruby berry and one chocolate caramel crunch. They were phenomenal. I tried placing a order online to pickup the next day but it was 2 days notice. I called them and asked if it was possible we could get them the next day and they were able to accommodate. They were so kind!! The cakes were DELICIOUS! They were so yummy and moist. We were shocked at how much they could feed. The 5 layers is a lot and feeds a lot of people. I also likes the icing to cake ratio. They also accommodated a super late font request which they absolutely DELIVERED ON!!! We were so happy with the service. Although DTES, There was lots of parking, the inside was so cute and clean, and pickup was easy.

This was my first visit to this cute bakery. I ordered a slice of their Raspberry Latte cake. It is super moist! The raspberry & chocolate work very well together. Service was friendly & warm. I shall return later in the month to get an entire cake (in a different flavor). This bakery is the real deal!

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now, and so happy I finally remembered my login info, because this is by far the best bakery in Vancouver (possibly my favourite in Canada?) and is so deserving of a 5-star review! Every time I am in Vancouver, this bakery is always at the top of my "must visit" list - I consider myself a pastry snob, and I find their cakes and pastries exceptional, both in taste and textures. The biggest issue I have, is deciding which item is my favourite, and when to stop before I overload my carry-on allowance on the plane (and my appetite while visiting). Beyond their product offerings, I have also always had such nice service from this local small business, and had such an above-and-beyond interaction earlier this year with the owner (I didn't know I was speaking with the owner at the time, but realized this at pick-up). The previous cake I had ordered for them had toppled over within blocks of pick-up, and I called for my next order to see if there was any way they could provide the cake in a smaller box this time (I had believed that the cake fell due to the oversizing of the box). Not only did she accommodate this request, but she suggested crafting a special buttercream dam for my lemon meringue cake to fortify its structure, and also provided a small discount for what happened with the cake the previous order (completely unexpected because we still ate that entire cake, it was so tasty despite how it looked). It was such a kind gesture, and her thoughtful suggestion with the cake also helped my new cake arrive from Vancouver to Calgary in perfect condition after transiting through ubers, security and flight (see photos of delicious cake along with the extra slices of london fog I picked up). I have been frequenting this bakery for over a decade, and have never been disappointed by their food or service. The tropical cloud cake, lemon meringue cake, london fog cake, passionfruit or lemon meringue tarts, and various seasonal viennoiserie - all delicious and you can't go wrong whichever you choose! I sometimes wonder if I should move just so I can have more frequent access to this bakery...it's that good!

I Gender Reveal Cake That Nearly Broke Us — Literally. I don’t enjoy writing reviews like this, but for the sake of any future parents who want their gender reveal to be magical — please think twice before ordering here. We ordered a gender reveal cake from this bakery, and it was — hands down — the worst cake I’ve ever had in my life. It was hard as a rock, to the point where we nearly broke our glasses trying to dig into it to find out if we were having a boy or girl. And once we got in? The taste was somehow even worse than the texture. It was stale, flavorless, and all we could taste was a greasy blend of fat, butter, and an overwhelming amount of sugar. No character, no freshness, no joy — just a heavy, lifeless lump of disappointment. For $75, I would expect at least basic quality and maybe even a moment of happiness. Instead, this cake almost ruined one of the most special celebrations in our lives. Honestly, I wouldn’t eat it again if they paid me. This bakery needs to take their role in people’s important moments far more seriously. Please look at some gender review cakes online and do an honest comparison with what you are offering!

We used Cadeaux for our wedding cake last year. The cake was absolutely delicious, exactly what we had ordered flavourwise. However, the outside design was not what we had agreed on, and the box they were supposed to provide for the top tier was not provided (leaving us scrambling a bit on the day of) But, they apologized and refunded our deposit. We also did two cake tastings with them. An initial one with their premade cakes, and a second one in the Bakery with cake components of our choosing. Both experiences were great and super helpful. Communication with the vendor was great, we would consider them again in the future.

By far the best carrot cake in Vancouver. Cream cheese icing? Check. Walnuts? Check. Raisins? Check. Generous portion? Check. Thoroughly enjoyed this after a busy day at work :) 100% will be ordering in the future!

Consistently great pastries, cakes and seasonal treats for many years and at good value. Love the carrot cake, Tropical Cloud cake, Black Forest individual dessert, Passion Fruit and/or Lemon tarts along with excellent real croissants and assorted pastries. Frozen croissants to bake at home too! Over the years I've ordered various high quality cakes that family & friends have thoroughly enjoyed. Occasionally, have had treats & coffee, tea, hot chocolate at one of the 4-5 tables in the warm, modern style environs with open kitchen. Service has always been good or better. This is a hidden gem!

Bella Gelateria is a renowned gelato spot that gained recognition by winning first place at the 2012 Florence Italy Gelato Festival. Raspberry, Black Sesame, Buko Pandan, Nocciola, and Akbar Mashti.
Very good gelato, I had the pistachio flavour, and it was amazing. Service was excellent too, they let you taste test up to 3 flavours
Justin T — Google review
First time trying their gelato. We're allowed to taste test a maximum of 3 flavours. We found flavours like Black Sesame and Kulfi to be very strong, more enhanced than a lot of ice cream we've had before (which is a good thing). However, I settled on Cashew Dark Cherry (roasted cashew butter) and Pistachio. The cup is fairly small, but the server did do their best to pack in the gelato. The gelato has a nice creamy texture, which we enjoyed. Their only vegan options are sorbetto, but they do have a number of gelato flavours that are gluten free. Popular outlet in the middle of the hallway in the upper level of Metrotown. It was busy, and I imagine it will be even more popular in the summer!

Bella Gelateria in Metrotown is a fantastic spot for high-quality gelato with rich, authentic flavors. Their lemon gelato is refreshingly tangy, while the salted caramel offers the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The vanilla is smooth and creamy, and the milk cookies flavor is a delightful treat. Each scoop is crafted with care, delivering a silky texture and deep flavor. Whether you’re in the mood for something refreshing or indulgent, Bella Gelateria has something for everyone. It’s a must-visit for gelato lovers looking for a truly delicious experience in Metrotown.

--edit June 2025-- I tried theis pistacchio gelato and it was not what I expected. I hoped creamy milk with pistacchio flavor but all I tasted was salt. Also tried their vanilla bean and yuzu. The yuzu wasnt that good and it melted rather quickly. The vanilla bean was amazing. They had a promotion for free toppings. I forgot the normal price but when they out on 2 mini oreos, it is not worth paying normal for toppings. --June 2024-- I got to try their gelato during the free birthday treat. I got the black sesame and wow! It was so delicious. I had black sesame ice cream once in Japan a while back and I could not find something as good as it here in greater vancouver. So many places have gritty ones and some have overly nutty flavors. This one was perfect and I would definitely come here to eat it again.

My husband loves the ice cream so for his birthday yesterday I purchased him a 800g to-go box. It was priced at $60. I asked the staff if it was a single flavor because I couldn't remember which one he liked. I thought about getting 2 of smaller 300g options for one flavor each. However, I was advised that they do 3 flavors in the 800g and 2 flavors in the 300g. The containers on display did not depict the interior, so I would assume with this statement that it has dividers. Nope! They just put all ice cream in together haphazardly. The girl who put my ice cream in was the literal definition of a Gen Z and their terrible service. She took 15 minutes to get my ice cream scooped. No smile, just disgust and annoyance that she had to do this. At the end, she took a giant spoon and smoothed all the flavors together. She put the lid on while ice cream leaked out the sides and put tape on it. Put it in a bag and handed it to me. The handle had ice cream on it! The inside of the bag had ice cream. As I was walking to my car, I heard creaking because I kid you not, the container which was styrofoam was pushing open against the tape. She had overfilled it and not taped it well. It took a 5-minute drive home, I told my husband I got ice cream and I told him the flavors. We opened the container and it was so hard to see where one flavor started and one ended. I couldn't believe I spent $60 on that mess. The ice cream was great but this staff just did not care and ruined it. The thing that drove me wild, is it asked for a tip before the service was provided which I opted to give!!! And I got this crappy service for a product that could have been amazing. It's just the staff opted to not care and ruined the product in the container. Hire or train better. This was a disaster.

My visit to Bella Gelateria in Metrotown Burnaby was a delightful surprise! While I had reservations about the Akbar Mashti Zafran ice cream, it turned out to be incredibly delicious. The flavor exceeded my expectations, and the generous portion size was impressive. I was pleasantly surprised, and if I could, I would give this gelateria a perfect 10-star review. Purebread Bakery + Coffee is a family-owned bakery that began as a home hobby, baking bread for loved ones. Their success at the Whistler Christmas Market led to the opening of their first shop in Whistler and later expanding to three locations in Vancouver. The bakery's mission is simple: to create delicious bread, savory dishes, cakes, and treats that bring joy to people's faces. One of their popular items is the Crack pie, inspired by Christina Tosi's famous creation.
Purebread is an absolute treasure for anyone with a love for baked goods! The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm, inviting smell of freshly baked bread, pastries, and cakes that makes it impossible to leave without picking up a treat. The selection is incredible - from perfectly flaky croissants to decadent brownies and tarts, there's something for everyone. The quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite, and the presentation is always stunning. Whether you're popping in for a coffee and snack or taking home a box of goodies, Purebread never disappoints. It's easily one of the best bakeries in Vancouver. A must-visit for locals and tourists alike!

I love this place—so many delicious baked goodies! It looks like something straight out of a Smurf baker’s kitchen, beautifully arranged and inviting. I tried a scone made from corn flour, which was absolutely delicious. The drip coffee, however, wasn’t my favorite. I think I’ll stick to the baked goods and make my coffee at home next time. Still, a lovely spot for a treat!

Purebread lives up to the hype! Endless sweet and savoury baked goods - spent a good bit of time trying to pick which ones to try. The jalapeno cornbread was really good, as was the scone we had (I think raspberry). Wish we could come here every morning! There’s a ton of seating, staff are great too.

One of the best bakeries in town in my opinion. The variety and presentation alone is enough to get 5 stars but then you try retry much anything and it's expertly done. We've picked up different little treats here and they've all been delightful. The lemon raspberry scone, cherry cheesecake and passion fruit loaf to name a few... all just simply excellent. This place is a must try.

We first came across Pure bread in Whistler, and guessed that there must be something about it due to the long queues. We were pleased to find that there is a sister store in Vancouver, which we decided to seek out. The store in Vancouver was less busy, but that might have been just down to the time we visited (early PM). The first thing that grabs you is the sheer choice of items on offer, there is definitely something for everyone. We opted for a banana loaf, which was a decent portion size and very tasty. This was washed down with a flat white, which was also flavoursome. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing display with many possibilities, nevertheless not the perfect place for breakfast for me as lot of pastries are fatty and savoury. Other occasions like lunch will be a perfect place ! Took the croissant, was a bit unflavored for me and I also took a good cappuccino.

Thomas Haas has been a staple for my family for many years. Whenever we wanted to treat each other with cakes, pastries, or chocolates, we would come here. When I was little, I loved the rotating chocolate samples that come for free, grabbing some to try as we waited in line. The charm of this location is that it's small. They could easily afford a bigger North Shore location in a more busy area, but choosing this specific location makes the experience a destination. You're not going to Lonsdale, Commercial Drive, or Mount Pleasant; you're going to Thomas Haas. Everything they offer is delicious: the cakes, macarons, pastries, and of course, their chocolates.

Breka Bakery & Café - Bute is a local favorite in Vancouver, offering a wide range of delectable treats and drinks. This charming corner bakery is open 24/7, making it the perfect spot for late-night cravings. The cozy interior and ample seating create a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for enjoying the beautiful downtown Vancouver views.
It's 24 hour with free WiFi! Great place for students to study or get some work done on your laptop. You can smell the fresh bread being baked in house at 4am. And did you know they have gluten free desserts as well? They are delicious and won't leave you feeling like crap. Clean place and very friendly service. I tried their breakfast bagel today and didn't expect them to have it panini pressed which was nice! A wow factor! I got a few pastries for some friends too. Make sure you also try it out! 😊
Eddy W — Google review
This Breka cafe is large and sunny with lots of seating, including small tables, a communal table, and window counters, but is nonetheless always full when I pass by. Although the design is nice, the atmosphere was really hectic because of how busy they were; trying to get a seat was a free for all, the staff was yelling order numbers, and I felt rushed to order before I got to the front of the line which meant I hadn't gotten to even see everything in the display yet. I did manage to grab a seat at the communal table where I was able to enjoy my lunch. I got an egg salad sandwich, a date & walnut hamantaschen, and a cup of sencha. The challah bread that the sandwich was made with was very light and a little sweet and goes well with the egg salad. I would have liked the sandwich a little more if it had lettuce or greens instead of just the egg salad inside. I like that they pair their sandwiches and savoury pastry pockets with a pickle slice. The hamantaschen was also very good - the cookie was fresh and soft, and I loved the flavour of the date-walnut jam filling. Tea is decent too. I've tried other things from other locations, and in general, I think all of their food is tasty and great quality for the affordable prices. Some of the savoury sandwiches and pockets are a little oily/buttery, but they are very tasty. I've really enjoyed all of the cakes I've tried; the desserts are sweet but they come in reasonable portions so I don't feel like it's too much. The donuts are heavenly, super fluffy, but very sweet. The muffins are the only baked good here that I've been a little underwhelmed by - they're not bad but just average. This is not my usual Breka but I wanted to try this one to switch it up. I probably will not come back to this one because I feel like the other locations are more laid back and have nicer staff, but I am just basing this off one visit, so it's of course entirely possible I just visited at a particularly stressful time. I did feel like it was hard to relax while I was here though.

Both Brownie Chocolate Mousse to go. This mousse taste great! The mousse is not too sweet. The only thing I hope is that the brownie portion should be a bit more bigger to have a balance l. Love the chocolate ganache coating, it kept the house layer moist. The addition of chocolate bark on top was also a great touch. Highly recommend this. The staff were always very nice, and the service was quick.

I came to this bakery multiple times. Love this place! Breka is my go-to spot for tea, coffee and desserts. The pastries are always fresh and tasty, and their coffee is great too. The vibe is super chill, and the staff are always friendly even when it’s busy. Perfect place to hang out or grab a late-night snack!

Location and more than one location in Vancouver. If you are looking for a fast food bakery, you should be fine. But do not expect fresh and tasty meals. Products ate just average. There are better coffee places on the area with tasty products.

Perfect little atmosphere to enjoy a baked good or tasty sandwich any time of day. We visited around 2:30 on a Sunday and it had a constant line but managed it well. So many yummy sandwiches and donuts to choose from. We enjoyed their chicken apricot sandwich and the nut butter donut. Both were very tasty. The service was friendly and quick. We would definitely visit again.

We had Breka's donuts at Davie location for the first time. We liked them so much we visited this location before heading back to the U.S. on April 2. This location seems a little more spacious than Davie. Because there's a construction going on in front of the cafe, the view isn't good. The food and drinks were tasty as we expected. I should have ordered pistachio donuts again. I wish I lived in Vancouver!

Ice cream shop
La Casa Gelato is a renowned gelateria that has been an East Vancouver institution since 1982. With over 200 flavors available at any given time and a total of 518 flavors created, this legendary shop holds the Guinness World Record for the most number of gelato flavors under one roof. The pink palace building houses this famous establishment, known for its unique and diverse range of flavors including durian, corn, blue cheese, and curry alongside classic fruit and chocolate options.
Tried La Casa Gelato based on a friend’s recommendation, and it was such a fun experience! 😋 They’re known for their huge variety of flavors, but honestly, what stood out to me just as much was their attention to detail — the decor is super cool, and I loved how they showed respect for different cultures by including different languages in their welcome messages. The bright pink wall outside is also a total eye-catcher! As for the gelato — the peanut butter with Nutella was hands down my favorite. I’ll definitely be back for more!🍦 Just a heads-up though: there’s no seating inside, so be ready to enjoy your treat while walking around or in your car.
Sophie R — Google review
The ice-cream is excellent, the staff is friendly, and there are numerous flavors to select from. The cost is reasonable, and the establishment operates late into the evening. They provide their own parking and an outdoor seating area for enjoying the ice-cream. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment for ice-cream.

It's hard for me to give this place only 3 stars. We had been really looking forward to getting there as I used to frequent the place quite often 20 years ago. I know times change but it felt a bit underwhelming. It looks great inside, but I remember the samples being a highlight. (You can't get that anymore, which I think is a detriment) The flavours seemed more generic than I remember. They used to have more interesting flavours that you might not find in other places. All this said, there was a lot of sorbet options, the ice cream was in organized sections, and the young staff were so friendly and hospitable! I had white chocolate Forest cherry Which was wonderful.

As an American coming to Canada for the first time, my best friend brought me here and it is a total recommend…10/10 The staff was friendly and helped with the flavors. The look and taste is what brings you back… I ordered salted caramel and coffee, very much delicious. So many flavors it takes 10 minutes to decide :)
Shannon M — Google review
Tried La Casa Gelato recently and went with the Salted Caramel and Green Tea Cheesecake flavors. The salted caramel was a bit disappointing — it tasted more like vanilla with barely any caramel or saltiness to it. The green tea cheesecake was better; it had little cheesecake chunks mixed in, which was a nice touch, but the flavor wasn’t really infused throughout the gelato — more like plain green tea with cheesecake pieces added in. The shop itself has tons of options and is fun to visit, but I wish the flavors I tried had a stronger, more distinct taste.
Deeda — Google review
I have seen this place all over my Instagram and heard about it nonstop from everyone around me, and I’m so glad that I finally got to try it and experience the lore myself after all these years 🥲 This is simultaneously the best and worst place for me as an indecisive person. The flavor selection is simply stunning and unbeatable- I mean, come on! They have a Guinness World Record as proof! I tried the Durian and the Mango Mochi flavor, and they both reminded me of Asia so much. Both of the flavors are so aromatic yet not overly sweet or overpowering. I’m so genuinely impressed by their formula with so many offerings 😍 The only thing I wish could have been better is the service- even though we were one of the only people in the store, it still felt like they were trying to rush you through the door. It didn’t help that I was already overwhelmed by the choices lol. No more tasters since COVID, just a heads up!

I have never seen so many ice cream flavours at one place - 238 flavours woww!!! Would definitely go again and highly recommended. This is a paradise for chocolate lovers!!

Lots of flavours and the ice cream it’s I. But the attitude of the owners specially from the male on the video is very rude like if they where making you a favor to sell you. I will definitely no come again considering that there are better corran shops in Vancouver with better services. It’s just the fame of the place but if you don’t have to come this far, save your self some time.

Absolutely love this place for great coffee, delicious desserts, and the option to grab a quick bite! They always have something fresh like sandwiches and wraps, which makes it a perfect spot for a casual stop. We had the Ham Swiss Croissant, Ham and Cheese Baguette, Oreo Cheesecake, and—of course—coffee. Everything was fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. Highly recommend!

A nice place to slow down in the city. TREES offers hot drinks in different sizes and various types of cheesecake. The cappuccino was very good and large and the cheesecakes we tried (Oreo, Blueberry, Lime and Nuts) were very tasty and sweet. The atmosphere in the café is pleasant and quiet.

We had a slice of tiramisu cheesecake with matcha latte and they were so good and warming for this weather! The tiramisu cheesecake is a 10/10, a must-try item and they go well with a bit of cream served together! The matcha latte was thick(in an amazing way) and tasty. Also, Maria is a lovely barista who was attentive to our requests and even gave us great customer service and a sweet smile! Definitely coming back here 💃 ✨️✨️

The server was very friendly the cafe was clean and welcoming. The Macha latte was not bad but not great, it didn't help that they only filled it up 3/4 of the way up, the rest was just foam, pricey for a 6 dollar drink. They have a few GF treats as well.

Mink Chocolates Cafe, located in Vancouver, is a haven for chocolate enthusiasts. The cafe offers an array of handmade chocolates, along with a selection of tea, coffee, desserts, and specialty chocolate drinks. The friendly and attentive staff enhance the overall experience for visitors. The cafe's clean and bright interior provides a welcoming atmosphere with ample seating options. While some customers found the chocolate bars to be on the pricier side but delicious, others appreciated the variety of flavors available.
Lovely coffee shop. Waffles taste so delicious and wash it down with medium roasted coffee. We see this place received so many awards but, we didn’t bother to read up about it. Just taste good all it mater.

I met my good friend here for a drink and I got an English Breakfast as a Fog with Chocolate and my friend got a Parfait. We both enjoyed what we ordered and there is quite a selection of drinks and a nice selection of baked treats. The atmosphere is lacking somewhat. There are some wrapper themed displays on the wall but not much else. It didn’t feel very warm and inviting.
Luke B — Google review
Mink Chocolates Cafe is located in a great location right near the waterfront. They serve a variety of chocolate beverages as well as they have chocolates for purchase. It took a while for me to order my drink because the ladies in front of me were picking eating chocolates and there was only one man working behind the counter. I ordered the iced chocolate and sat outside to drink it. The iced chocolate was very average, more milk than chocolate. It was more of a milk shake than an iced chocolate and it was quite disappointing. There are seatings both within and outside of the cafe.
May Z — Google review
Last time I ordered a hot mocha here it was lovely. A good balance of coffee and chocolate with little to no sweet. However in a second visit I ordered an iced mocha and it wasn't really an iced mocha but more of a frappe and it was really really sweet, and really just average. I ordered light sweet both times. The hot mocha is 5 stars and the frappe is 3 so averaging it out results in 4 stars.

Update: 22:16 Sunday Jan14, The owner requested that I remove the photo I had uploaded featuring the staff. I complied, deleting it and uploading an edited version. The owner is aware of the particular staff member who provided poor service to my daughter and me. Will they take action? Probably not. Will I return to that place? Definitely not. Despite being regular customers, my daughter and I will not be going back due to the unpleasant experience with that staff member. Original review: My daughter and I rushed to get here (Hastings Downtown location) before they closed at 5pm on a Sunday. Looking forward to the Hot Chocolate Festival specials they got. Made it at 4:35pm. Ordered and last told us she can't serve us the special anymore since it was half hour until closing. I'm like what? It's a long time from now. What's the difference? We came all the way here for that and she denied us the special drink. She looked really unhappy and unenthusiastic to serve us. So disappointed! No customer service skills at all! The person that served us is shown in the pictures.

First time visiting. We ordered a 38% cacao Hot Drinking Chocolate and a Frozen Mocha, and both were delicious. The hot chocolate was so thick and creamy. The frozen mocha was so much better than a Starbucks frappaccino. Also left with a couple of their chocolate bars, which are quite pricey, but well worth the cost because they are so creamy and delicious

Been a long time I wanted to try this place. I took the 75% cacao hot chocolate and I barely feel the chocolate mostly just taste milk. I came from Europe and I am use to strong hot chocolate so maybe here hot chocolate is this way (??) I also ordered a naked Belgian waffle but this one was dry, definitely tasty tho, but dry! Paid $21 for 2 hot chocolates 16oz tasteless and 1 dry waffle. Otherwise the store is cute, nice location.

My husband and I came here for the hot chocolate from the hot chocolate festival. We were very excited to try it at the beginning because Mink is such a popular chocolate shop that offers chocolates, hot chocolate, and chocolate beverages in Greater Vancouver. We ordered the flight of four drinking chocolate from the hot chocolate festival. One was a caramel flavour; one was dark chocolate; one was white chocolate and one was the orange one. The dark chocolate was a bit bitter, which was great; however the other three were extremely extremely sweet that I felt sick after drinking them unfortunately. The level of sweetness was exceeding the standard level. I urged whoever has health issues or who has diabetes should not try this flight of four drinking chocolates. In a medical term, I suddenly had the Hyperglycemia. The extreme sweetness from the super sweet hot chocolate created high blood glucose (blood sugar) in my body that I felt very uncomfortable. I had to drink water to dilute the sugar in my body. I always have chocolates and hot chocolates from Beta5, Thomas Haas, Chez Christophe, and Koko Monk. I was totally fine with their chocolates or hot chocolates. But after I had the four super sweet flight of hot chocolate from Mink, I felt very sick. I am not joking. If I will go to this chocolate shop again in the future, I would only order their regular hot chocolate or dark chocolate. I just could not handle the flight of four drinking chocolate that had super sweet flavour. Sorry… However, I would say their customer service was good. They were welcoming, friendly, and caring to customers. The space was comfortable with outdoor seating.

Mister Artisan Ice Cream is a popular spot in Yaletown, known for its house-made ice cream using natural, locally sourced ingredients. What sets Mister apart is their use of liquid nitrogen to create a denser, smoother, and creamier frozen treat made-to-order right before your eyes. The result is a rich and creamy ice cream with smaller crystals and less air than traditional varieties. Their state-of-the-art technology and hyper-cold nitrogen process produce an exceptionally smooth texture.
I spotted this ice cream shop when I was walking down Robson street. This is probably the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had, the hot caramelized surface with frozen vanilla custard ice cream inside, it blended so well together. On a side note, I ain’t even a fan of vanilla. I just had to re-visit this place before heading home. The second time around I chose toasted marshmallow with my favorite ube ice cream at this branch in Yaletown. I simply didn’t care if I was chilling or gained a pound for the dessert.

This place is a unique gem in Vancouver and definitely worth checking out—I've been twice and plan to keep coming back. I really love the layer of chocolate and marshmallows they add on top and flame right in front of you—that part is absolutely delicious. The ice cream itself is tasty, but I wish it had a bit more intensity and variety. It would also be great if they offered samples before ordering, like many other ice cream shops do. For those reasons, I wouldn’t quite rate it five stars yet.
Ana A — Google review
My cousins took me here and it was a delicious treat! The ice cream sandwich cookie reminds you of that of the cookie layer of a DQ cake, just not crunchy, but still yummy! I had the classic Creme Brûlée ice cream in a cup and it was heavenly — I love egg custard desserts and so this was very spot on; it has the perfect custard taste that is light and not too sweet.

Best ice cream in Vancouver. I can't come to the City without having Mr Artisan at least once! The flavours are asian inspired and so delicious. I love the options of dips and marshmallow. The matcha dip is quite strong but a very good addition and you can't go wrong with any of the flavours, especially the vegan dairy free ones!
Rod — Google review
I had the crème brûlée ice cream sandwich with a matcha dip, and it was honestly one of the best dessert combinations I’ve tried in a while. The ice cream itself was smooth and rich, with that perfect burnt sugar flavor that makes crème brûlée so special. The outer layer had a nice crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy texture inside. What really made it stand out was the matcha dip, slightly bitter, earthy, and aromatic, which balanced out the sweetness of the ice cream perfectly. Every bite had that satisfying mix of warm caramelized flavor and refreshing matcha notes. It wasn’t overly sweet or heavy, just really well made and thoughtful in taste and texture. If you love unique desserts that combine classic flavors with a creative twist, this one’s definitely worth trying. I’d go back just for this! 🍵✨

This ice-cream place in Vancouver DT is amazing! They make it fresh, and it’s incredibly good. Definitely worth a visit and highly recommended to try.

The atmosphere here and food is impeccable and impressive. They use a variety of eye-catching, intricate and intriguing equipment/elements to make delicious and one of a kind ice cream. I’ve been here twice and as always, it has hit the spot. They have so much flavors that catch my eye that I can’t choose any.
Abby L — Google review
**IMPORTANT TO NOTE: They do not accept cash payment, at least not when I visited on March 16th!! From other reviews, it seems like they may have never accepted cash in the first place..** Mister is located right next to a Skytrain station, which makes it pretty convenient to get to! Inside, it’s relatively small, with two stools and a small table area in front of a large window, which means you’ll likely have to find other seating outside of the place if you want to sit and eat. Luckily, there is a wide area with trees and benches very close by, so if it’s not rainy you can definitely sit there. While the liquid nitrogen is cool to see and watch, it does feel a bit gimmicky, especially once you look at the price. In my opinion, you’re definitely paying for part of the liquid nitrogen ice cream experience, and the price point makes Mister not an often, reoccurring treat. The Oreo crust on the sandwich was very tasty, and the cone was crisp and delicious as well. Unfortunately, the ice cream itself was lacking in flavour. For the total cost of the ice cream + taxes, it would’ve been preferable if the ice cream was more distinct and strong. Instead, outside of the Oreo pieces/cone there wasn’t much of a taste present. Texture-wise, it was fine, as the ice cream was relatively smooth- it’s just (again) the lack in flavour that dampened the experience. I don’t feel like the amount of money spent was justified, and for the machine to prompt for a tip on top of that left a somewhat bad feeling. Personally, I don’t see myself returning unless it’s with a friend who hasn’t tried it yet and wants to. It’s not for me, and while it might not be outright bad ice cream, I personally believe it is overpriced for what it is. The more I think about it, the more I feel like money was wasted 🤷🏻‍♀️ In a city like Vancouver, your money can be better spent elsewhere, and for likely less than $17! We got: $9 Double Oreo with Cone $7.5 Double Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich ————— $17.33 Total

I recently ordered a New York Cheesecake and a Strawberry Cake from here, and both were absolutely delicious! The New York Cheesecake was everything I hoped for—rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth. The graham cracker crust had the right amount of crunch, complementing the slightly tangy and well-balanced sweetness of the cheesecake. It was indulgent without being overpowering. The Strawberry Cake was light, moist, and full of fresh strawberry flavor. The layers were soft and airy, and the frosting had just the right amount of sweetness, with real strawberry bits enhancing the taste. It felt refreshing and satisfying in every bite. The cakes arrived fresh and beautifully presented, showing great attention to detail. Overall, my experience with them was fantastic, and I’d definitely order from them again. Highly recommend! 1/5 Stars - A Tragic Decline: True Confections No Longer Lives Up to Its Name It is with considerable disappointment that I write this review for True Confections. As a long-time patron, I've observed what appears to be a precipitous decline in the quality of their cakes, particularly since the reported change in ownership or management. What was once a hallmark of Vancouver's dessert scene, offering consistently exquisite and memorable cakes, now, in my recent experiences, delivers a product that is profoundly underwhelming. I've found the texture of the cakes to be noticeably drier, the flavors less vibrant and distinct, and the overall presentation lacking the meticulous care I previously associated with the establishment. This significant drop in product quality stands in stark contrast to the prices, which, regrettably, remain at a premium level. The value proposition has, in my view, deteriorated dramatically. For anyone who cherished the True Confections of old, I must caution that the current offering may prove to be a significant letdown. Based on my recent visits and observations, I would personally suggest exploring other dessert options in the city. It's truly disheartening to witness what feels like a beloved institution lose its way so completely.

Located in Victoria, BeaverTails is a fast food restaurant that offers a quintessentially Canadian treat - flattened and fried whole-wheat dough topped with various delicious options such as cinnamon sugar, chocolate hazelnut spread, or Reeses Pieces. The location on Government and Broughton is hard to miss, attracting a crowd of hungry visitors eager to try their apple turnover, original, and strawberry cheesecake flavors.
Warm and freshly made in a cold day are just delicious. The pistachio one was simply spectacular. I tried them first four years ago in Ottawa. I got the impression these were a lot smaller. Baby beaver tails. They shrunk in this time.

First time trying Beaver Tails. Totally love it!! We made the track from our cruise ship to visit this location specially. Our server/cashier was very helpful and gave us helpful suggestions - like cutting the BT into 4 so we can try different ones. My nephew was throwing a tantrum because he wanted to go to Tim Horton and have donuts. I persuaded him to wait until this Beaver Tails opened and give this a try. Let's just say he is a total convert😁.

We jumped at the chance to have some Poutine while in Canada! Came across BeaverTails and figured we’d give it a shot. Went from no line to a large line of people behind us in a matter of minutes. The young lady behind the counter was super pleasant and helpful. We got the traditional and both my boys, my husband and I all really enjoyed it! Only draw back was there are just 2 small tables and 4 chairs to sit in directly infront, but we were able to sit and eat when the previous family got up. Most everyone either walked and ate or stood next to the building while eating. Saw several college girls stop and grab poutine, a couple of other tourists who were on a food tour, another family with kids, and several people getting the beavertails. If I find myself in Victoria again I’ll definitely stop by for poutine again and to also try a beaver tail! Highly recommend you give it a try!

We got the BrWOWnie and Strawberry Cheesecake and they were amazing! Though I definitely preferred the brownie one more. Definitely wanted to try their pistachio one too though but didn't get the chance. The fried dough base was delicious! Crisps on the edges, and soft in the middle. The brownie consist of chocolate hazelnut spread, then topped with warm brownie chunks, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. The strawberry cheesecake one is layered with cream cheese frosting, a drizzle of strawberry sauce, and generous chunks of graham cracker crumble. Service was neutral, and ambiance was great!

We didn’t have very long to explore Victoria on our recent cruise, but we were on a hunt for poutine. Luckily, my wife saw a sign for this place as we were exploring. It also operates as a zero-waste establishment with an on-site composter. Sweet Obsession offers customization options for their cakes and provides personalized messages at no extra charge.
We visited today. We bought lemon mousse cake, triple chocolate mousse, almond croissant and two coffees. We paid 33 dollars. There were not many varieties left for dessert. The filling of the croissant could have been more. The environment was prepared for the new year. You have a male employee who does detailed cleaning in the store and this is a very nice detail. We will come again

Picked up a carrot cake slice from a local bakery 🎂 — the taste was really good, fresh and delicious 😋. But honestly, the quantity felt a bit low for the price. Still, worth trying once if you love desserts! 🍰

I see this place when I get the bus from UBC campus. I have a sweet t👀th! Also like trying new places. Ordered the individual size white chocolate raspberry mousse. It has natural, fresh raspberries in it. Melts on your palette. Matcha tea latte is a sheer delight. Was truly surprised when I started drinking it. Lovely, relaxing vibes.

Sweet Obsession Cakes & Pastries in Vancouver is generally well-regarded for its delicious and beautiful desserts, including cakes, pastries, and tarts. Customers praise the quality and taste, particularly mentioning the St. Honoré cake, peach berry mousse cake, and triple chocolate mousse cake. While some reviews note the price can be a bit high, many find it worth the cost for the quality and experience. This place deserves alot more praise. Right in the heart of a residential area this little gem is a hidden secret in the West end. They have really I mean really good desserts here. I came here on valentines day to get my valentine her cake. They had one called the bleeding heart. It's in the shape of a small heart and when you cut into it, it bleeds a jelly filling. That was so cool lol. I should've played the keep bleeding love song LOL. I also suggest you try the creme brule here... Really gooooood....and there's a heated patio outside for you dog owners like me. They'll be happy to bring you a bowl of water.

This is a nice and cozy neighborhood cafe. We ordered the Cubano Sandwich, Machiatto and Matcha and enjoyed it at their lounge seats outside. They have a wide selection of cakes and pastries.

I tried the Triple Chocolate Mousse. It was very good. The appearance of the Mousse was nice, it is noticeable that the texture and layers of it were thoughtfully made, and its flavour was very good. The atmosphere inside the Cake Shop is relaxing, although the cutlery could be a bit more thoroughly clean. Nonetheless, the Cake Shop itself is very nice, and the atmosphere welcoming.

This is a nice place with comfy chairs outside, and the food and prices for pastries is reasonable but, I hesitate to return because the service is so bad. They only have one person working the front counter at a time, even with a long line. Two different staff people that I’ve encountered have only one speed, which is SLOW. For instance, after making some coffees, the girl decided to clean up the station before handing over the cups to the customer. One time the drip coffee ran out, and the guy just stood there watching it brew, while he could have been finishing the food order, or seeing if he could help other people in line. Ridiculous!

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is a popular spot known for its authentic Brussels and Liege waffles, offering a variety of sweet and savory options to cater to different tastes. The cafe also serves expertly brewed espresso drinks to complement the waffles. With locations on Seymour Street and Robson Street in Vancouver, Nero Belgian Waffle Bar provides a cozy atmosphere where visitors can indulge in delectable treats like the Banella waffle with Nutella and bananas or the traditional Liege waffle.
Absolutely delicious breakfast. My only knock was having to pay $3 for syrup, which for what ever reason didn’t come standard with the waffles. The hand and cheese waffles were truly top notch in flavor. Their prices were average for the area. Staff were super friendly and service was fast. Overall if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch this is a spot you should definitely check out.

The waffles here are amazing. We got a couple of eggs benedict with salmon and ham, the brie with crispy prosciutto, and the french waffle. We enjoyed everything! The waffles are crispy and savory. The prosciutto is so good and a hefty serving too. Overall great experience. Just a quick comment though, if you are a larger group wait times might be longer. They only have a few large tables. Otherwise, don't be scared of the lines, the queue is much quicker than what we thought.

I had a wonderfully enjoyable breakfast that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exceptional; the staff greeted me warmly and attended to my needs with genuine care. The food presentation was impressive, with each dish artfully arranged to delight the eyes as much as the palate. The "smashed avocado" was a standout. It was bursting with fresh flavors and paired perfectly with a hint of lime and a sprinkle of sea salt, making it both delicious and delightful. The classic "heaven" was equally impressive; its layers of flavor and textures truly lived up to its name, offering a comforting yet sophisticated experience. I left feeling completely satisfied and inspired by the meal, and I am looking forward to a return visit to explore more of the menu.

Lots of choice of savoury and sweet waffles. The service was slow but they were very busy and didn't have enough staff to cope with the number of people waiting. They were definitely trying their best and the food more than made up for it. It tasted amazing and the presentation was on point. The music was great, loads of old skool hip hop tunes to get you singing along.

Nero Waffle in Yaletown is such a lovely place for anyone who loves waffles that are both creative and satisfying! I had the smashed avocado with smoked salmon waffle on my recent visit, and wow, it was absolutely delightful. The avocado was fresh and creamy, and the smoked salmon had this rich, savoury flavour that went perfectly with the light, crisp waffle. It was balanced and not too heavy, making it the perfect brunch choice. My friend went for the grilled cheese waffle with smoked salmon, and while it looked yummy, it turned out to be a bit too salty. The cheese and smoked salmon made the flavours super heavy and intense, which might not be great if you’re sensitive to salty food. It’s definitely better for those who enjoy bold, savoury bites. We also shared a strawberry waffle for dessert, which was a lovely contrast to the savoury dishes. The waffle was crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and the strawberries were sweet and juicy. It gave us a refreshing and light finish to our meal. The staff at Nero Waffle were so welcoming and attentive, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for brunch, with some really standout dishes worth trying!

We had a great experience. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Service is efficient and you can get their attention easily. Lots of options for sweet and savoury waffles with an option for vegan. Choice of 2 types of waffle - you can have a light and fluffy inside with a crispy outside waffle or a leige type waffle which is slightly chewier. Cutlery feels nice to use, it has good lighting, warm and not too bright but you can still see the food. Atmosphere here has a good vibe.

Fun place to try for waffle lovers. The menu features sweet and savoury waffles great for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. You can dine in and order from the full menu of Belgian waffles or grab a mini liege waffle and beverage from the to-go counter. I've seen them get busy, but when I went for a weekday lunch with a friend, there was no wait for a table. I tried the brie waffle (brie cheese, apples, and greens with balsamic vinaigrette) when I went for brunch, and also have tried their churro and pistachio liege waffles. I got the brie waffle with their gluten-friendly buckwheat waffle since I really like buckwheat. The flavour of the buckwheat waffle was nice but it was very airy and a little dry. The brie topping was great. The menu changes seasonally so I don't think they're currently offering this version of the brie waffle, but they have a different baked brie waffle on the menu now. The liege waffles are very good - these are rich but still fluffy. The churro liege had the dulce de leche custard inside which was a REALLY nice treat. I think the churro liege is also out of the rotation at the time of writing, but they have other custard-stuffed flavours. The liege waffles are rather sweet, but they make a good occasional treat. They also have a full coffee bar. Their London fog was pretty good. The dine-in service was kind of slow, but the staff were very pleasant. I definitely recommend the place if you like waffles and want to try some unique waffle flavours!
Dana S — Google review
We had to wait outside for about 30 minutes before getting our order. The waffle itself was nice and crispy, but the toppings were really disappointing. The strawberries tasted sour and didn’t seem fresh at all. On top of that, the prices were quite high for the quality offered. I expected better ingredients and faster service from a place like this. I never come back.

Bâtard Bakery is a cozy spot on Fraser Street that offers a delightful selection of breads, pastries, and light meals made with local ingredients. The bakery's inviting interior provides the perfect setting to savor their top-notch baked goods while enjoying hot drinks. This French-style bakery, cafe, and grocer is owned by the Born family who drew inspiration from their European travels.
I absolutely loved this place and will definitely be coming back! If you’re someone who enjoys supporting local shops with a nostalgic, authentic vibe, this is a must-try. I ordered a turkey sandwich, and they took the time to warm it up — it turned out perfect. The bread was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, which really made the sandwich stand out. They also had a nice selection of homemade items like jams, and I’m honestly regretting not trying some while I was there. Yes, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s pretty common in local, independently run shops — and to be honest, the quality and experience make it worth it. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It feels like stepping into a shop from 60 years ago, with a warm, welcoming environment and a sense of tradition that you don’t get in big chains. Everything from the service to the details in the décor made it a memorable visit. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their offerings!

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. The mushroom soup was incredibly thin, more like flavoured water than an actual soup. It lacked both flavour and substance. The roast beef sandwich was also underwhelming. There wasn't enough meat, and what was there was dry and bland. The bread was fine, but it couldn't make up for how unbalanced and unsatisfying the sandwich was overall. For the price, I expected much better.

I have been coming to this bakery for many years, it always makes my day! The food is great, the baked goods and desserts are so beautiful, even if I choose to skip them, they are a visual delight! I think what draws me back again and again is that when I step through the doors, I feel transported to France. Plus the service has remained the same good standard over the years, I can tell that staff are happy to work there. When I have friends visit from out of town, Batard is on our Vancouver "must visit" list!

I finally had a chance to visit this place. There was a great selection of pastries and quite an impressive brunch menu as well. However, for the big crowd that they have, it was hard to make decision, as their pastry display was quite small. Their drink menu was tucked away on the side wall, next to the cash register. For a first timer, the long line up and to make a very quick decision on the pastries was rather overwhelming. We had the almond croissant and the savory Danish, both were absolutely delicious. Pastries were super flaky. The coffee was quite a wait, but it was very busy as well. Although their latte and mocha was not outstanding, but it was better than most I have tried. Seating in the cafe was at a premium there, so be prepared to be standing or there was plenty of seating outside as well.

A very exquisite bakery with a wide variety of beautifully displayed breads. The dining area and food section are separated. I ordered a rosemary potato tart and an Americano. There’s even a bread slicer in the store, which is very convenient。

Found this bakery recently. The breads are always flavorful and perfectly crusty, the pastries are flaky and not overly sweet, and the café atmosphere makes it a pleasure to stop in. It’s wonderful to find an authentic Italian bakery that also offers a nice selection of Italian goods. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love Glenburn! All of the ingredients are fresh and high quality, the staff are so friendly and I’ve never been disappointed with anything I order! Not a lot of seating but if you’re patient you can usually find a spot along the bar.

The ice cream at Glenburn Soda Fountain was amazing! I highly recommend the brownie sundae — it has the perfect salty-sweet balance, and I absolutely loved it. The only thing I’d note is that the portion was quite big for me; it’s definitely enough for two people to share. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Frozen Novelties: Includes the Glenbar (chocolate wafer ice cream sandwich), Sorbet Pop, Scoop Cup, and Scooter Snacks (for dogs). The decor is a blast from the past and it’s very cool. After 2 years of traveling, my kids were stoked to come back here for what we would consider on of the best ice cream places in Vancouver. Yes it’s a bold statement but trust me, we know our dessert places. The vintage decor just makes the whole experience even better. Glad to see they have not sold out and still employ local youths to run the place. I usually just get a mini hot fudge sundae but the chocolate mint and caramel milkshakes are also superb.

Trafiq Cafe & Bakery is a charming European-style cafe located on Vancouver's Main Street. It's a spacious and inviting spot where you can enjoy a delightful coffee break, breakfast, or lunch. The bakery takes pride in its assortment of house-made croissants, pastries, sandwiches, and bread. However, the real stars of the show are their delectable cakes and desserts.
this place is AMAZINGGGGG!!! this actually satisfied my cake cravings so well and literally everything was such special treat. the salted caramel cake was perfectly made—the vanilla cake was moist, soft, and the perfect base. generously separating each layer was this incredibly fluffy and light cream that wasn’t too sweet or salty, which was perfect for me because i honestly don’t even like caramel that much! despite that, i really enjoyed the caramel injection because it was such a nice punch of flavour between the light layers of cake and cream. the earl gray cake was also amazing, with a very subtle fruity and flowery taste. the cakes are seriously SO FLUFFY and HAD THE PERFECT MOIST TEXTURE I CANT EVEN. but make sure you bring some milk or water because it can get a bit sweet in the end ! the chunky monkey was also so special, unique, and delectable. the solid texture wasn’t what i was expecting (the top part is a bit tough), but it was still perfect and easy to cut through with a fork. a bit hard to describe the mouthfeel honestly, but it was kind of like a bunch of doughy, dense, pastry insides crammed together. maybe that doesn’t sound appetizing but trust me it was AMAZING. the banana flavour was strong and perfectly paired with the sweet chocolate. the mini chocolate decadence was also great, and the perfect size because it was sweeter than the other cakes—but it shared the same light, fluffy cream and moist cake. even the savoury food was incredible, which i was honestly surprised by! the focaccia bread was perfectly toasted, crispy and warm, while also being super fluffy. the melted cheese had the toastiest, enticing aroma that you just couldn’t resist, and even the arugula paired so well with the saltiness of the rest of the ingredients. i definitely want to return to trafiq again and try other unique cake flavours in the future!!!!!

I ordered the matcha cherry cake, it was pretty good! The sweetness was perfect (my taste not too sweet), and the moist, soft texture was just right. It’s a small shop, so there isn’t much space and the tables are really close to each other. Definitely come back to try other cakes 🍰 !

Traffiq Café has good coffee. The cake servings are huge, definitely generous! I’m not much of a sweet tooth, but I could tell the ingredients were very fresh and the quality was there. Personally, I prefer the cakes without heavy icing by the counter or their cookies, which are a nice balance for the coffee pairing if you’re not into overly sweet treats. A great spot overall for a coffee break, especially if you appreciate fresh bakes and a lively vibe.
Philip L — Google review
Tried the chocolate brûlée cake and it was beautifully made with very tasty layers of cream and mousse. The flavours worked really well together. The presentation of the cake was gorgeous. The only thing that could have improved was the actual chocolate cake part, which in our cake was quite dry and comparable to an overcooked muffin in texture. Other than that, it was a great, high quality cake.
Munchica — Google review
I first visited Trafiq over 10 years ago and instantly fell in love with their cakes — they’re so delicious and incredibly moist! You really can’t go wrong with any of their flavours — from salted caramel to earl grey to blueberry lemon, every one is amazing. Though I hadn’t been in a while, I recently came back to sample some flavours for my engagement party, and I’m happy to say they’re just as good as I remember! The service is really excellent, and the owners are so kind and friendly. Their prices are very fair, portions are generous compared to other bakeries and cafés in Vancouver, and the quality is truly unmatched. Can’t wait to come back again and try more flavours for the wedding cake! 💕
Monica L — Google review
Omg I don’t know where to start! Our first visit and definitely not our last… the neapolitan cake somehow tasted exactly like the ice cream and the value of that nutella coffee cake is unbeatable. We will definitely be getting our birthdays from here now because the chocolate decadence was next level delicious. I don’t even have words to explain how good everything was from the cookies to the cakes so I’ll some pictures of what we picked up!

I don't write reviews at all, but I had to say what a great place Trafiq is and I wish I could give them 6 stars!!! This is the place we go when we are sad and when we are happy. It's not just about the delicious sandwiches or deserts but everything happening in here. Lovely owner, lovely staff and delicious food and sweets. This is the place we go when we need to make a memory. Don't miss out.

Honestly, it’s not worth the price. The desserts are good, but not for what they cost. Out of all the cakes they advertise, there were only two options available, so there was no way to get a better idea of the rest. I do have to highlight that the service is really good, friendly and fast.

Gusto A Taste of Italy is a casual eatery located in Vancouver, offering a taste of authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant serves up classic Italian dishes such as pasta, paninis, Roman-style pizza, gelato, and pastries. Despite the bustling atmosphere and sometimes messy service, the food is delicious and worth the visit. Additionally, Gusto provides an opportunity to enjoy traditional Italian coffee and offers a cozy place to hang out with friends.
The café is quite cold, which made it a bit uncomfortable for me. The coffee is strong, and so is the hot chocolate, but personally, I didn’t like them. However, the sausage and bread in the sandwiches are tasty. The greens, on the other hand, were wilted. There’s a large selection of sweets, which is nice. Maybe I’ll come back in the summer to check ice cream
Mariia M — Google review
Great value and authentic Italian cuisine, food was delivered fast and honestly I'm confused as to why this place pretends to be a cafe when its dishes are exquisite. The pizza is very heavy on a prosciutto-like taste utilizing pork belly instead (pancetta) which gives a hybrid taste of bacon and prosciutto. This place has been a great homage to Italy and does it a great honor. The baked goods were refined and amazing too. You can't go wrong with what you pick, just don't be shy to ask what a certain ingredient is if you're not familiar with Italian cuisine. Definitely will need to return and try the other baked goods and dishes. Pricing was surprisingly very competitive too as a bonus.

Went here with my work crew and enjoyed the most beautiful evening on their patio. The area was lively and full of energy, with all the charm that makes Olympic Village so special and we still felt like we had our own little corner of the city. The staff was so warm and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect night. The food was soulmazing! Nothing over the top fancy, just honest, authentic Italian cooking done perfectly. Every bite felt like comfort food made with love. As I sit here at gusto I think to myself I/we need to be here more often. My friend and I have had the pleasure of eating here a few times and it always exceeds my expectations, the pizza is like biting into a crispy cloud. You also don’t feel heavy after eating like with some other pizzas, nicely leaving room for dessert of which I would highly recommend. The flavours are so well thought out, I would recommend the prosciutto e rucola as it is my favirote…so far. The desserts and gelatos are fantastic as well, this time I had the tiramisu. not too sweet and nicely balanced. I can’t wait to go back, thank you to all the staff and the wonderful owner!

Wonderful Italian spot in the Olympic Village! The place was cozy with enough indoor and outdoor seating, and service was friendly and quick. The veal panini was absolutely delicious, and it was great value at $18 and large enough for 2 people to split for lunch. Definitely recommend!

I only had the gelato this time around, though I came here before for their food, coffee, and drinks. For the gelato I recommend the gianduia and the expresso flavours. They are extraordinary and they also pair nicely with each other. The expresso is done with coffee from Milano Cafe which is one of my favourites.

Delicious food, absolutely mouthwatering! It was so so fresh and the service was good. A wait for the food should be expected especially with the pizza’s, as they are made fresh to order, but it I’d totally worth it! It’s a busy place though so be prepared not to get a seat. Definitely recommend to Roman style pizza here!!!

We just walked past this place and decided to try the yummy looking dishes. we ordered a bubble waffle, and oh god it was superb ! The way the initial bites of waffle feel when you take your first bite is warm and a little crispy on the outside, and when the ice cream rolls melts and softens it in the end, with some salted peanuts for the light crunch leaving you with a balanced flavor makes you wonder why is this not your everyday stop ! If I was not worried about getting extra calories everyday :)

A really nice spot for desserts. The aesthetic inside the place is on point. It is helpful that they have photos on their menu. We have visited the place twice and it would definitely see more of us! We went there at night and still many people going there for their frozen yogurts! At first I tried the 'water the melon' ( August limited ) and it was soooo good... my friends tried the Tiramisu & Mango frozen yogurt cups and they all felt that the Tiramisu was a little bit too sweet...(though I feel it's fine) and finally I ordered the matcha frozen yogurts... and after tasting it... all I could say is I love this place!!!

The prices are too high especially for their signature ice creams like the fish waffle. It also takes them a long time to make it. But on the bright side, they make the waffle on the spot which makes it fresh and tasty. I recommend to try it at least once for the experience.

Their signature Nice Cream cookie sandwiches are made with homemade gluten-free cookies and creamy vegan Nice Cream, offering a variety of flavors to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Innocent Ice Cream has amazing Ice Cream Sandwiches. There are lots of options and the cookies are all gluten free. My sister has Celiacs disease and it is safe for her. I don’t have any gluten allergies and the cookies taste great! They also have vegan options. There are other treat options besides the sandwiches like cones and pints. There are a few stools to sit on and some bench seating along the walls inside and there is a small seating area outside. There is a single stall toilet available for customers also. Definitely check them out!

It’s been awhile since we have gone down to East Vancouver. After hitting up one of our favourite Pho joints we wanted some ice cream for dessert. We found this place on google maps that was a short walk away. First impression was what a cute logo. An oxymoron caught in between 2 sugary worlds. The sandwich’s were what they are known for but the pick and shoot offered the originals as well. Generous scoop even for kids size though I thought the mini sandwiches was a tiny bit small. Good flavoured gelato which was not TOO SWEET. Staff were friendly and the space provided a chill and comfy ambience.

This is not just any ice cream shop, it's a gluten free ice cream sandwich shop. Man did it ever sound cool! I just had to try it. It's a small little shop with plenty of parking around the hood. I got a bit overwhelmed with what to order since it was my first time there. I originally thought I could order a big ice cream sandwich. But for some reason I was directed by a nice staff member to try out their sandwich flight. Not a problem I gave it a shot. Mind you the prices are high but you are getting good quality ingredients here. Would I come back again? Yes, to try out their big sandwiches. I enjoyed my time here.

I ordered a Vanilla/Chocolate fudge/Chocolate Chip Cookie crust ice cream cake for my partner on her birthday, and we were absolutely floored by how great it was! I requested that they decorate the cake with Happy Birthday message, expecting it to be written in frosting. I was so surprised to see that it was displayed in little chocolate letters! The presentation was perfect and made her day extra special. If you're celebrating the birthday of a gluten-free loved one, I promise you that goodies from Innocent will make it perfect. Thank you, innocent!

Always LOVE my experience here. Great ice cream. Fabulous plant based selection, as well as dairy based. I also LOVE that i can actually have a cone because they are gluten and dairy free.

Cute little icecream with a lot of options we got a regular icecream sandwich and a mini icecream sandwich. The maple walnut flavour was so good!! The mini sandwich is a bit small for the price so I recommend just going for the regular. The staff there were really nice and we were able to try the samples of icecream before ordering :) recommend giving them a try!

Melo Patisserie is a delightful dessert haven located in Vancouver's Mount Pleasant neighborhood. Since its opening in August 2020, it has become a popular destination for those with a sweet tooth. The patisserie offers an array of delectable treats and classic French pastries made with precision and high-quality ingredients.
Wow, this place is very cute place. I didn’t anticipate to find it in the back street next to Congee House but I did! Felt like hidden treasure cafe shop. I got 3 different croissants and an ice latte coffee for less than $20 usd on my credit card charge! I feel like I got really good value, experience, and tasty pastries and coffee. I would highly recommend this place.

I was looking for a place that has good cake and I was not disappointed. They have a nice patio with flowers at the front and some tables inside. It was busy on a Sunday morning, with both people sitting in and taking out but there were still tables available and no line up. Their butter croissant is great with lots of layers. I had read reviews about the hazelnut cookie. It’s delicious, more on the expensive side but with good size. It’s a bit too sweet for me. It’s almost like a brownie in cookie version. Not all their cakes are exposed so you can ask for a specific flavour and size for them to get in the back. They can customize it with a message on top but you have to wait quite some time. Maybe it’s best to order on the phone to come pick up later. The cake was definitely a hit. Super easy to eat, not too heavy, with nice balanced bites. It’s too bad the smallest size is for 4 people band the next size up is for 8. It would be good if they had a size for 6 people. Will definitely come back to try more things.

I wasn’t able to order much since I was just passing by, but I definitely enjoyed their chocolate hazelnut cookie. The flavor profile was unique and balanced, with the ingredients complementing each other well. The overall quality was also great and exceeded my expectations. I’m so glad I decided to stop by and treat myself :) just wish I got more than 1 cookie!! — I'll definitely be coming back to dine in tho because that chocolate hazelnut cookie is by far one of my favorite cookies to date!! ❤️ so I’m quite convinced that everything they have should be great lol + to add, the ambiance was great. Interiors are clean and very appealing. They also have a patio area, probably great for spring/ summer for breakfast/ brunch. + edit! Came back to get their ham and cheese croissant, a chocolate chip and take out birthday cake! 😊

If you love mousse as much as I do, you're gonna love Melo. Their individual mousse cakes are so decadent, and layered, so each bite has boar loads of flavor. Each individual cake is big enough to split between 2 people. I highly recommend the chocolate pistachio passion fruit cake. I could eat 2 of those in one sitting. It's nearby some residential parking, so if you look around you may be able to find some free 2h parking. Otherwise, there's some paid street parking on main depending on the time of day you come by. There's some seating for couples and if the weather is sunny, they set up a table or two outside big enough for 6 people.

The BEST patisserie in Mount Pleasant! This cute shop has a very cozy French vibe and we have always enjoyed our experience. The pastries and cakes always have stable and high quality, the service is always warm and friendly, and the space is cute and stylish as well.

Very Spanish/ European style Good coffee and cakes We spend time here meeting up with friends and we liked the patio a lot so you can enjoy your cup and chat with your friends. The pastries are high price but they taste very delicious. Great customer service
Heyam — Google review
Lovely ambience but the dessert wasn’t fresh (was probably made the day before) and there was a weird taste and smell to it. The same smell lingers in the air inside the shop. My partner didn’t novice anything and he tried my dessert too so it might just be me having a very sensitive sense of smell and taste. The place was packed and everyone else seemed to be enjoying their desserts so I’m sure they’re fine.

Super popular patisserie with a beautiful selection of pastries. The almond croissant was definitely the highlight — perfectly crunchy with a rich, nutty aroma that made it stand out. However, the butter croissant and chocolate croissant were a bit underwhelming. Still a nice spot to try if you're in the area, especially for almond pastry lovers!

Yandoux Patisserie, located in Vancouver, is an elegant and airy dessert haven offering a wide selection of custom cakes, sweet and savory pastries, and an array of teas. The patisserie is known for its visually stunning petit cakes made with the finest ingredients. Additionally, it presents an Asian-inspired high tea experience featuring a tempting variety of pastries and recommended teas such as Jasmine with Flowers and Peach Apricot White.
A fantastic place where all the food is exquisite and delicious. This is the best high tea I’ve had in Vancouver. Each person receives a full set of pastries, which are thoughtfully divided into sweet and savory categories. The selection is carefully curated and changes with the seasons to offer different flavors. It’s a shop that truly puts effort into creating exceptional desserts.

Exquisite! One of the best afternoon tea services I have ever had! Don’t hesitate to book here! I HIGHLY recommend this marvelous place! My BFF and I had been here in November when I came to town to celebrate her birthday and were so impressed that we just had to come back today. Once again, everything was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. Both the savory and the sweet were artfully created with incredible attention to detail. The flavours were divine, each bite a delight to the tastebuds. And the scones! Wow! We were so well treated by our server and were thrilled when the chef, Ivy, stopped by our table. Our tea pots were constantly being topped up to stay hot. Thank you, Ivy for such a wonder experience (and for the extra treat you gave us to take home!). We will definitely return next time I am in town!

A very nice place to have brunch or afternoon tea. Everything looks unique and elegant. The rose cheesecake is absolutely amazing! It has a thin chocolate crust shaped like a rose, and the cheesecake inside is rich and delicious. Definitely coming back again! 👍

We went to celebrate my bestie birthday. It’s the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Vibe, tea set presentation and food are all great. Savoury served when it’s still hot. Servers are very good photographer and took lots of pictures for us. We enjoyed very much.
Snoopy K — Google review
Overall, it was a good experience. Service was a bit slow (granted people are usually not in a rush at high tea, I was just hungry lol) I like their savouries, not so much their sweets. Personally, I'm just not a fan of desserts that have tangy or sweet berries compote in them. That being said, my party did enjoyed their sweets. If they add a couple more savoury items to it, it would have been perfect for me. Some savouries item that I expected to be crunchy was stale though but it didn't bother me that much. The flavour profile was good enough to overlooked that. Their scones was baked fresh, came out hot and moist! Perfect pairing with the accomplishments served! The tea itself, I got Jasmine, there was nothing special about it. I do wish they serve higher quality tea and offer more variety that are not fruit flavoured. I preferred my tea plaine. The tea was also too weak for my liking. Despite service being on the slower side, it was great. Prompt, friendly, and attentive. The space is cute, neat, and clean. Plenty of paid parking, no spot reserved for the place, and parking was cheap so no complaints there. When we make the reservation, I saw on their website (I believe) that high tea is $68/person but reservation of 5 or more will be $65/person + 18% auto gratuity... When we went, our party of 7 were charged $68/person + auto grats, and that clause were no where to be found. (It's gone now) It's not a big deal, just $3 but it worth a mention imo. We would return here.

Have been a Yandoux fan since 2019 because this is the best hightea in Vancouver! Now they have a bigger store newly opened in RMD, today I bring my little boy to enjoy his first hightea and he really enjoyed the sablefish, I told the chef he is usually a very picky guy and he never eat any fish, she friendly told me how to make this dish and I feel so warm about it, all the staff here are extremely helpful and friendly, beautiful store and very nice environment, thank you and you guys made my day 🩷

I barely write reviews but Yandoux really far beyond our expectations. It’s our second time travel in Canada and we were just picking up a birthday cake ordered online yesterday. We found the place is quite lovely and decided to spend more time there. The staffs are very friendly and find a spot for us even if we don’t have a reservation. We tried the afternoon tea set, coffee, and a few cakes. I would say all of them are surprisingly creative and tasty. Chef Yan is amazing and professional. Services are also great in every small details. We definitely will come back next time while I get a chance to travel again. Thank you Yandoux!

We will miss it when it closes! Waiter was extremely attentive even though we came for dine out. Highly recommend the beef short ribs. The cappuccino ice cream cup won me over as my initial inkling was for the creme brulee.

The service here is very nice. Our server Ian suggested lobster taco which tastes extremely delicious, and we ended up having two of this taco. The host girl even directed us all the way to washroom which was very of her because I am easily get lost indoor. Unfortunately, the seafood hot pot brings the whole rate down to four star instead of five star. Mussel in the hot pot weren’t fresh, has very stinky smell and tastes bad. We brought this up to server, the manager immediately came and would like to make us a new one. However, we were informed that the chef smells the dish and said that’s what it is supposed to be like. Me and my husband love eating seafood, guarantee that is not normal. We weren’t lucky for the second time either, mussel are not fresh at all. Manager Max is very nice and let us to choose a different dish. I picked pasta with claims which is very good. Overall, the place is worth to try.

Nice seafood bar and restaurant inside the Four Seasons Hotel. We ordered the seafood pot for 2 people 80CAD) very fresh but don't be fooled, mostly potatoes and small clams at the bottom to make it look big but they were great. Also the sauce was impressive as you could tell they must have put in a lot of butter. It was thanksgiving so we also got the set menu. Had the scallops and classic turkey. All delicious. Service was excellent.

Normally it is routinely a 5 star review. This afternoon they were slammed with a function in their ballroom and we waited 45+ min for our meal. When it came, everything came out at once: appies and mains which meant our food got cold. Unfortunately our meals were under seasoned. Staff recognized the issues and was apologetic before we raised the issues. So that was a good recovery.

Great location and great decor and atmosphere. I ordered crab salad which was tasteless and was returned. My partner had the salmon burger which was excellent. I reordered a cup of soup and their Cobb lobster salad. Soup (crab/clam in white base) which was excellent. The Cobb salad was tasty and fresh but needed a better dressing.

Nice atmosphere. Not too loud. Went for dinner here with a group of five. Had a three course meal for about $50/person. Great service. The sablefish was cooked really well. The tuna tartar was okay, but not that good.

Came here for a company dinner and was not disappointed. The food was great, very flavorful, and cooked to perfection; nice flavors in every bite. The service here was terrific and the establishment had a very nice ambiance. Ordered the Scallop & Pork Belly, Rack of Lamb, and Oven Roasted Pear & Blueberry Crumble with Spiced Caramel and Vanilla Ice Cream. The scallop was probably the best scallop I had ever tasted before as it was cook beautifully, tender, and had a nice char. The pork belly was tender and melted in my mouth; it had a nice sweet but savory glaze and really added to the overall flavor. The butternut squash and smoke onion aioli just perfected and completed the overall first course. The Rack of Lamb was cooked to a very nice medium. Each bite was insanely tender and not hard to chew at all. The pommes aligot (cheesy whipped potatoes) was full of flavor, very cheesy but not overwhelming. It paired nicely with the lamb. The broccolini added color to the dish and was crunchy but a bit oily for my liking. The dessert just ended the meal nicely. The oven roasted pear and blueberry crumble tasted a bit more like apple pie. Pears were crunchy and blueberries offered a nice tart-y taste. Spices caramel and the vanilla ice cream completed the package. My girlfriend on the other hand ordered Sablefish which was alot more flavorful than the rack of lamb and offered a nice kick in spice. The fish was tender and cooked very well. the crispy rice cake and dashi scented navy beans along with the charred cucumber added a very nice texture. Her dessert was the Choco-holic which was a chocolate mousse cake, a scoop of ice cream and a dark chocolate pipe filled thick cream. The mousse was so smooth and rich. My only drawback of Yew is that the savory dishes that I ordered had a layer of oil on the plate. Other than that, again the food was delicious, hot on arrival, and service was on top of their game.

Had only breakfast so far. I would like to say the food is well executed with healthy and delicacy in mind. It is a bit pricy but the vibe, the service would worth it. Since I'm staying in for a business trip, it is a bit of a hustle of people while dinning.

The seasonal breakfast sandwich is really tasty! I finished it on the bus lol. If they can open lately, maybe till 6pm, I’ll visit there frequently since it’s a little bit far away from my work place. After I off work and arriving, they already closed. I visited 5 times this week. Front desk was so nice asking me if I needed anything. I was hesitated because there were so many mouth watering breads and desserts here. I really love the scrolls and lemon yuzu tart. Also match latte is my favorite drink. I almost try everything here. And there are few different products everyday. I’m excited about visiting here again and see what else new desserts or breads stuff they sell. I already recommend three of my friends visit here. And they leave me a satisfaction as well. This cafe will be at the top of my list!

The pastries here are among the best I’ve had in Vancouver—flaky, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I only tried the drip coffee, and like others have mentioned, it was just okay—not bad, but nothing special compared to the standout pastries. If you’re after exceptional baked goods, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

What a wonderful way to start a beautiful day. The wonderful lady was warm and friendly, and suggested I try the curry wurst croissant which was salty, flaky and delicious. I had a smooth cappuccino and then went back for a Kouign Aman which was decadent. Perfect start to the day.

visited beaucoup because I’ve heard so many great things so I decided to try their ice cream sandwiches for Ice Cream Festival this year. I got the almond croissant and my friend got the peach cobbler. To say I was disappointed can’t even depict how I felt eating this. There was no almond flavour and it was incredibly soggy…not palatable at all. My friend got the peach cobbler and she was not impressed either…said it tasted like canned peaches and soggy..for a place like beaucoup to be using canned peaches in the summer is just not a good sign. You could tell this was not executed well and it’s really failing their brand. If this is supposed to reflect their ability to make other baked goods, don’t even bother coming. Not worth your time. The staff however, were great.

Sushi restaurant
Miku Vancouver is a restaurant located along the Burrard Inlet next to Canada Place, offering gourmet Aburi cuisine in an elegant setting with a patio and scenic water views. The owner, Seigo Nakamura, has innovated the Aburi concept by creating specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to complement each type of fish.
My friend and I had the most fabulous experience at Miku on our day trip to Vancouver! We enjoyed the Signature Lunch Shokai which gave us each; two appetizers, miso soup and a serving of their traditional and Aburi Oshi sushi. The appetizers were so delicious. The first one I had was cold matcha noodles in a delectable peanut sauce topped with fresh prawns. The second appetizer was a meatball-type concoction with wagyu meat, paired with warm mashed potatoes which were topped with a sauce that tasted like Dijon mustard (definitely my favourite). The miso soup was so soothing to have, and we were also served two types of tea; jasmine and fresh green tea. For the main course, each piece of sushi had its own unique story and flavour palate to it. It was such an indulging experience, I would take a flight back just to have this meal again at Miku! I highly recommend putting a reservation in before going as they are very busy (for all the right reasons). We didn’t have a reservation as we were just flying into the city for the day, but we were promptly seated with a fantastic view of the harbour and the restaurant itself. Our server Wendy was so sweet and friendly, she and the other servers explained each dish thoroughly. The staff made us feel cozy and welcome! Thank you Miku for the amazing food and outstanding service.

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing dining experience at Miku. From the moment we walked in, the energy and atmosphere felt welcoming and lively, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about the food they were serving. We decided to go with the chef’s choice menu, and it was the best decision we could have made. Every course that came out was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Each dish felt like a perfect balance of creativity and tradition, and we loved the variety that the menu offered. The quality of the fish and ingredients was outstanding. Every bite was fresh and perfectly prepared, and it was one of those meals where we didn’t want it to end. The pacing of the courses was spot on too, giving us time to enjoy each dish without ever feeling rushed. Overall, Miku exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of atmosphere, service, and unforgettable food made this one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in Vancouver. My wife and I left beyond satisfied and can’t wait to come back. A must-visit if you’re in the city.

I didn’t have a reservation, so I sat at the bar—and honestly, it turned out great. I had the Kaiseki course and added some prime rib on the side. Every dish was super fresh and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and on point, even at the bar. I also tried a bunch of drinks while I was there, and they were all really well made. The whole experience was smooth, relaxed, and way better than I expected without a table. Definitely recommend if you’re into high-quality sushi and want something special but still chill. Would go back for!!!

We had a lovely dinner at Miku Vancouver — the sushi and truffle risotto were absolutely delicious and beautifully plated. The service team was friendly and tried their best to accommodate everyone even though it was quite busy that evening. The food did take a little longer than expected, but the quality and freshness made it worth the wait. I really appreciated the girl who helped us get seated faster — such sweet and attentive energy. 💕

This place lived up to it's hype. Miku and it's sister restaurant Minami are apparently the best spots for sushi in town. I heard that their pretty much the same so I just went to whichever was more convenient. Walked in on a Tuesday night at dinner time for 1 and was able to get seated at the bar in less than 5 mins. I ordered the oshi sampler $21, 1/2 roll portions of surf and turf roll $12, red wave roll $10, Miku roll $12, and garden roll $8; small portion of matcha cake $8. I loved how they do half portion rolls without up charging. This was my first time having hako aburi style sushi (torched, rectangular shaped, pressed). These were some of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. Fish was fresh, rice was just the right texture. Not cheap, but I think it's reasonable given the quality. Service was excellent. Graham at the bar was friendly, gave great suggestions, and service overall. Large, spacious, beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend if you had to choose just 1 sushi restaurant to eat at in Vancouver

Although I’m not a big fan of oysters, but here they are gorgeous, I liked them so much that I ordered them for the second time! The cocktails tasted very good. JAPADOG is a popular street-food chain with locations in Vancouver and Los Angeles, known for its Japanese-style hot dogs. The concept was brought to life by a Japanese couple who moved to Vancouver in 2005. They offer over a dozen varieties of hot dogs topped with unique Japanese ingredients like Terimayo sauce and bonito flakes.
I've been going to JapaDog forever ! It is a Vancouver classic and the Robson location never disappoints! We had the Wagyu Terimayo and the Ebi Tempura dog both packed with flavor and so unique. The drinks were refreshing (Japanade Pink Lemonade and Yuzu Matcha Lemonade) and the shaker fries were incredible, especially the Shichimi & Garlic and the Butter & Shoyu. The staff were friendly, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience reminded me why JapaDog has been loved here for 20 years. Definitely worth the hype!

i got very severe decision paralysis from this huge menu and i have so many regrets about my life choices. the hot dogs were a tad disappointing tbh — the bun was very normal looking and wasn’t very fresh. i think it would’ve been a lot yummier if it was fresh. the cheese on the tonkatsu dog was a bit plasticky, although it did make it more flavourful. the wagyu menchi katsu dog was vEry juicy, you could tell that it actually was very high quality (unlike the bread), and its heavy flavour was balanced by the sweet sauce. however the cutlet actually only took up like half of the bun so half of the time you were literally just eating mayo and slaw. both the tonkatsu and menchikatsu were fried FRESH so it was served nice and piping hot. compared to the hot dogs, the desserts were MUCHHHHH better. the black sesame milkshake was so good — it wasn’t too sweet, but there was a great black sesame flavour. the age ice cream buns were also reALLLY yummy. the fried, crispy sweet buns were really warm and paired so perfectly with the (not too sweet) cold and smooth matcha ice cream. the sugar coating the bun also elevated it — honestly these fried buns were such a highlight.

We’re spending one day in Vancouver before boarding a cruise and Japadog just happened to be a block from our hotel. We’ve seen a YouTube video about it and it looked amazing so we knew when we booked our hotel that that would be our first stop after checking in. It’s a small place and quite busy, but it’s busy for a really good reason. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially for Japadog newbies. I was super happy to see that there were vegetarian options of the exact dogs I wanted to try. The flavor of these dogs is unreal and unlike anything we’ve ever tried before. We are planning a longer trip to Vancouver and you’d better believe Japadog will be a regular stop!

Fun Japanese fusion hotdogs that's worth a try. The sausages had a good snap and flavour. We ordered the all beef terimayo and tonkatsu dog as well as a yuzu lemonade. Both were good but the tonkatsu was the more unique option but with a lot of mayo. Yuzu lemonade was refreshing and balanced out the heavier dogs. Would come again and try the other dogs
Don N — Google review
Japadog offers a fun and unique twist on the classic hot dog by combining Japanese flavors with a North American street food favorite. The concept is creative and definitely stands out among casual food options in Vancouver. I tried a few varieties, and while the toppings were flavorful and interesting, the overall experience depended a lot on which combination you choose. Some options, like the Terimayo, were well-balanced and satisfying, while others felt a bit too salty or heavy. The prices are slightly higher than a typical street-style hot dog, but considering the specialty ingredients and novelty, it’s understandable. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out fresh. Overall, Japadog is worth a visit if you’re curious about a fun fusion concept or looking for a quick bite with bold flavors. It may not be something I’d have frequently, but it’s an iconic Vancouver spot that’s worth trying at least once.

Hot diggity dog, it's been a while since I had a Japadog but it's still the top dog for me. To celebrate their 20th(!) anniversary, Japadog is giving away free hot dogs from May 1-3: Korubata Terimayo, Okonomi, or Beef Bacon Cheese. I went with their classic Korubata Terimayo and it was as delicious as I remember. The Korubata pork sausage was so juicy and had some snap to it from the grill; it perfectly complemented the soft texture of the hot dog bun. With the fried onions, teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, and seaweed, it was the perfect combination of sweet and savoury. I got there right at 5pm and only waited 30 minutes. Japadog's small but mighty team was so well-organized, efficient, and friendly. There was even a staff member dressed as a hot dog which I found so endearing and funny. Congrats, Japadog, on an incredible 20 years in Vancouver and thank you again for the delicious hot dog. You are a staple in our city. Here's to another 20+!

We showed up around 10 pm. Only seating available is outdoors but luckily we were just picking up take out. We were able to order on their tablet pretty quickly and food was out within a few minutes. I have heard the lines can be long but there was minimal waiting at night. Great late night snack. Lots of options and definitely something new.

I guess this is a must try when in Vancouver. There were so many choices! I liked the flavor combinations of the hot dogs but the hot dogs were a little too hard. The beef in the Yakisoba was way too hard and inedible. Takoyaki balls were a great texture though and great flavor. Not bad for a cheapish lunch.

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar is an upscale dining destination located in the Sutton Place Hotel, known for its exquisite seafood dishes and artisanal cocktails. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated atmosphere and is a popular spot for celebrities filming in the city. With award-winning chefs at the helm, including Iron Chef Champion Alex Chen and Canadian Culinary Champion Roger Ma, guests can indulge in West Coast seafood specialties like charcoal-grilled sablefish and housemade rigatoni.
Absolutely incredible experience at Bluebeard Kitchen & Oyster Bar. Every dish we tried was phenomenal—perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The sommelier’s wine recommendation paired beautifully with our meal and elevated the entire dining experience. The steak was cooked to perfection—so tender it practically melted in my mouth. And the dessert… hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. Truly unforgettable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Vancouver.

When I knew this restaurant had the best pastry chef and iron chef winner chef, I knew I had to try it. The service is top notch, the food is amazing quality with its ingredients and the way it’s cooked, and the ambience was great - classy but no obligation to dress a certain way. It was very costly but worth the experience and value. I would recommend it - try the appetizer, main course, dessert and drinks!

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar is a beautiful and inviting restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere. Their impressive variety of oysters is a true highlight, and their cocktails are expertly crafted. The service is exceptionally friendly, and the staff is very welcoming. It's a great spot for families, as they also offer a good kids' menu.

I was really excited to dine here for my bday occasion based on the hypes of the reviews. The Pecan Banoffee Crisp Dessert is to die for. Delicious! 10/10 The oyster are fresh and the accompanied sauces complimented it very well 10/10 Pomme Puree (Mashed Potatoes) is superrr smooth. 10/10 truffle fries 8/10 Bluefin Tuna Sashimi and Hamachi Crudo, while having super beautiful presentation, are less impressive. I enjoyed a first couple bites, but then it got boring really quickly. I wouldn’t want to order this again. Maybe a little kick of heat would help with that craveability. 5/10 Foie Gras Terrine - again, though the presentation is very nice, the taste doesn’t follow through. It’s pretty heavy, not enough acid on the plate to get you through the entire dish. 4/10 I do appreciate that they have a kid menu so you can bring your kids here and not make them try a fancy $50 dish that they’re not gonna enjoy. Atmosphere is rather disappointing. Given this being a fancy restaurant, I imagined I’d be able to enjoy my birthday dinner in a private, quiet, elegant atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were seated next to multiple loud tables and near a bar lounge area. It’s hard not to get distracted by their laughs and conversations throughout the whole dining experience. Maybe it’s because the restaurant is inside a hotel and serves all types of guests, plus where we were seated. Our server is really nice and attentive, but for the price we paid for the entire dining experience, I expected the atmosphere to be a little bit more elegant for sure. Overall I give this restaurant a 7/10.

Named a Michelin restaurant for a reason! We were seated in the quiet back room, filled with ambience & charm. Britney was our server and was incredible. The meals were perfect! Absolute gastronomical delights! Brought to our tables, described to a T, perfectly prepared and presented! I found my new cocktail too!! Service was impeccable! Dessert showcased the well deserved awards won, and we were even presented with a delicious birthday dessert for hubby! Not a place we would normally attend, but as a special outing you couldn’t go past this beautiful place!

Have been to this restaurant several times, and the experiences are always great. They always strive to accommodate, like one year, I remember they removed something that I didn't eat from my dessert, and this year, since my friend and I couldn't make it out for her birthday, I made a note when reserving a table that we would like to celebrate both, even though one was a belated birthday celebration. They took it seriously. Service was exceptional, and we really had a great night. A restaurant that the two of us were willing to tip more than 18%.

A gorgeous, elevated French / West Coast inspired restaurant - perfect for a date night, ladies night or a small group of 4-6 with friends. Tres chic. Classy. Lovveee this spot 💜 While I've been a few times for dinner (for the seafood tour), this time I came for brunch with a girlfriend who was launching her new book. Lo was incredible and made our experience so special. Recommend / Come for these: - Mocktails 👌🏻 Little kicks - out of this world - The seafood tour - Dessert - An elevated/elegant ambience If you like the ambience at Social Corner and Riley's, you'll probably appreciate this spot too.

Chinese restaurant
New Town Bakery & Restaurant is a family-owned casual spot in Chinatown and Surrey, serving as both a Chinese bakery and full-service restaurant since 1980. The main location on Pender Street offers an array of Asian and Western pastries, including epic apple tarts and delectable shrimp dumplings. The bakery is known for its no-nonsense, quick service with most items on the menu priced at $5 or less.
GET THE COCONUT BUN !!! it’s sOOO good — the bread is so fluffy and soft, and it contains this sweet, shredded coconut paste that is so perfect and comforting with the warm bun. the egg wash is so satisfying, the top is brown and baked nicely, and it pulls apart so nicely. however, i do wish the coconut was spread a bit more evenly to the edges, because the center was super filled with the sweet goodness but the outside was just normal bun. both the deluxe chicken bao and pork asado bun had a steaming, thick, fresh, and filling bun, and was loaded with meat. the deluxe was super hefty, and i especially enjoyed the flavourful and juicy chunks of meat paired with the grainy, earthy egg yolk. the asado bun was sweet and super flavourful, but it had an alcohol ish taste too? not sure if that was intentional. the taro turnover was really good too — the outside was crispy and the inside was bursting with the thick, dense, and subtle-tasting taro paste which was balanced perfectly with chunks of meat. the ratio was absolutely perfect ! the pineapple bun was large and had a really good flavour, but it was microwaved before serving. this made the bottom of the bun super floppy and soggy, but it got better after it cooled off a bit. i also would’ve preferred for the butter to slOWLY melt into the bun (so it’s still a bit solid). the butter was also minimal and not evenly distributed throughout the bun. the top was super crumbly and perfectly sweet though, and the salty butter still paired well to make an indulgent dish.

I met the lady who runs this place on a trip from Seattle to Vancouver. Asked her and her husband for an authentic place in Chinatown to enjoy real Chinese food. Every dish is good, the staff are very friendly and fast to bring the food! Highly recommend for a full meal or home made Chinese pastries. Also took some treats to my friends back in Seattle. Would definitely be back for more than when I get the chance to visit Vancouver! Thank you for everything, dear Susanna.

Restaurant: Ordered beef he fen, beef brisket, stir fry rice vermicelli. All decently good, and nice portions. Got a soup with the combo and it was pretty watery, not very good. Service was slow and erratic. Cleanliness can be improved. Bakery: The baked goods were very good in terms of variety, portion and tasted.

It was our first time visiting this bakery, and we found a good selection of food and desserts to order for takeout. Firstly, the wait time was about 10 minutes before we could place our order. The line was chaotic; there was a single line, but some people cut in front of us. I'm not sure if they were part of a group that had already been waiting, but it felt quite disorganized. The customer service was fast-paced yet inconsistent. They offered a free box if you purchased fresh steamed hambao, but if you bought frozen ones, they simply pulled them out of the freezer and handed them to you without a box or another layer of bag. I had to ask and argue a bit before they agreed to give me a box. Additionally, this bakery operates on a cash-only basis, as they do not accept credit cards, which probably influences where its profits go. Some of the desserts were enjoyable, particularly the coconut buns and the pork turnover, commonly referred to as the "football." However, the egg tarts were not sweet enough, and the sesame balls could have been better. I also wish they would use yellow mung beans instead of red beans. My wife tried the #5 pork hambao, which contains a variety of ingredients and it tasted good. I returned the next day to try their barbecue duck noodle soup. It was a bit greasy, but overall, it tasted pretty good.

You need to get one thing and one thing only, the special deluxe buns. My favourite is the pork with mushrooms and egg. Get them in the morning or noon when they are at its freshest. Prices are reasonable for these big gems, but service is a hit or miss with some of these ladies serving. But other than that, I would come back again if I'm in the area. There is a cafe style restaurant in the back as well. This location has become a popular destination for tourists and gets very busy and packed.
Eddy W — Google review
We came specifically for the steamed buns - BBQ pork and the chicken deluxe/Bola Bola siopao. They both were delicious, but the chicken deluxe was probably the best I've ever had. You have to try these steamed buns. Highly recommended!

I always visit this bakery whenever I'm in Vancouver and specifically, Chinatown! I have been coming here for the past 10 years and the food has remained delicious all throughout, with reasonable prices. They have a large bakery selection of egg tarts, pineapple buns, and more. The service there is great and the menu offers a selection of authentic Cantonese cuisine. I always order the steamed radish cake, cheong fun, macaroni soup (great option for kids!), and congee. Those are my favourite dishes here. Like many small businesses in the area, they only accept cash or debit card. Overall, this place is perfect for anyone looking to experience authentic Hong Kong cuisine. 10/10 recommend.

Visiting from the US and randomly stopped by. The line was long but it went fast. While waiting near the door, a local Canadian woman confirmed that New Town Bakery was the BEST in town. We ordered an assortment of dim sum and BBQ pork buns. Hands down it was the best Chinese BBQ pork buns I’ve ever had even better than the ones in Chinatown in SF or LA. I recommend all foodies to visit New Town Bakery and Chinatown BBQ! Also, New Town Bakery was featured in the movie “Always Be My Maybe” with Alie Wong.

Uva Wine & Cocktail Bar is a versatile spot that transitions from a bright breakfast and lunch venue to a swanky lounge with handcrafted cocktails at night. Nestled within the Moda Hotel, this ultra-modern bar boasts sleek leather seating, vibrant red decor, and an extensive selection of liquor. The prices range from $11 to $29 per glass, offering options like Moris Farms Avvoltore from Maremma, Italy.
Still our favourite little cocktail bar downtown. Food is reasonably priced and delicious. The cocktails are fantastic, especially in this price range. We always stol here when visiting Vancouver.

Uva Wine and Cocktail Bar in Vancouver is a solid choice for a casual night out. We tried a few snacks, which were tasty and paired well with the drinks. The cocktails were well-made and enjoyable, showing good attention to detail. The service was quick, and the atmosphere was nice—relaxed but with a bit of buzz. It’s a good spot if you’re in the area and looking for a place to grab drinks and light bites. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Stopped in at 10:30 pm after the Orpheum . Not busy sat at the bar. Bartenders took a while to make our drinks for 2. Service wasn’t the best. Drinks were good , spicy pineapple Paloma and Dark & Stormy , music that was on the speakers was best thing about this place. A little disappointed and a little bit pricy for the area

Stopped in here for a few cocktails as we were wandering back to the hotel from a Gastown tour. We were very impressed with the service and cocktails. I had the Desert Revival and The Coyote & The Condor. Both were fantastic and presentation was beautiful. The smoking sage on the C&C was a lovely touch. We did not have any food with our cocktails so I left that out.

Gerry’s Breakfast……….. went here for breakfast. Read the menu, decided on Gerry’s breakfast as it seemed like a large plate offering an omelette, fruit, toast & hashbrowns. To my surprise, the fruit was cooked into the omelette, rather than served on the side… this was very odd. Warm grapes, strawberries, and cherry tomatoes in eggs are not a desired combination.

Cheesecake Etc is a cozy and dimly lit dessert destination located on Granville Street. It's known for its signature cheesecakes, offering a varied selection of indulgent treats with light textures and rich flavors. The spot also serves specialty coffee and features jazz music, making it an ideal place for a late-night sweet craving or a romantic date night.
Nice place for a quick dessert and you only want cheesecake. From what I heard it used to be table service but changed to cafeteria style where you order at the front. Buy the original cheesecake with strawberries which is the best way to order and eat cheesecake. The gourmet is not bad which is mandarin orange and chocolate sauce. But the original cheesecake is better. One thing that is different with the cheesecake here and other place is there is no graham crackers base. But I would like to try chocolate cheesecake next time. However I recommend ordering original cheesecake with strawberries.

Cheesecake Etc. is such a great spot to hang out after dinner, especially with their late hours until 1 AM! The cheesecakes are delicious, with a texture that’s perfectly between New York-style and Japanese cheesecake. I’d highly recommend the original and chocolate flavors — both are fantastic. Definitely a perfect spot for a late-night treat!
Ho V — Google review
I recently visited Cheesecake Etc. and overall, it was a really memorable experience. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious — light, creamy, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The portion size was generous, and the fresh whipped cream on top made it even more enjoyable. It’s clear why this spot has been a favorite in Vancouver for so many years. One of the highlights of the night was the live music they had playing in the background. It added such a warm and cozy vibe to the place and made the atmosphere feel very special. It was the perfect setting to relax, enjoy dessert, and spend time with friends. The only downside we noticed was that the glasses and cutlery unfortunately had a strong egg smell, which was unpleasant. When we mentioned this to the staff, they responded politely and quickly brought us paper cups instead, which we appreciated. While that solved the immediate issue, it did take away from the overall experience a little bit. That being said, the combination of amazing cheesecake, friendly service, and live music made it a really enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a late-night dessert experience in Vancouver. Would I come back? Definitely yes especially for that cheesecake and the live music!

Looking for a nice date idea? Don’t bring her to your place after wine and dinning her. Take her here first, she’ll be warm and ready. Thanks to the owner’s hospitality, we are definitely going on a second date. Edit: 5/5 —> 4/5, they don’t serve any alcohol, she sobbered up and is now bloated. She’s going back to her place…

Brought to here by the relative we were visiting in May recently to cap off the day of activities. Very nice cheese cakes. And the ambience was great with a 2-piece band performing that night.
Google L — Google review
Cheesecake Etc. today still retains much of the same atmosphere it had 30 years ago. I remember the lighting used to be slightly dimmer back then, which made the vibe even cozier and more intimate. While some small things may have changed, the quality of the cheesecake has remained consistently good over the years. I especially like the fact that the cream they serve with it isn’t too sweet—it balances the richness of the cheesecake just perfectly.
E L — Google review
Been going for decades and was a treat every time. Last night was a disappointment unfortunately. The food quality had significantly went downhill. The cheesecake used to be high, soft, fluffy & creamy. It’s what set them apart to be the best in town. This no longer is the case. I’m sad for the lose for your quality Cheesecake etc. 😢

We ordered 3 cheesecakes, one of each flavor: original, matcha, and chocolate. We all agreed that the original was the best. The other two flavors weren't bad, but they weren’t particularly impressive either. The prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely come back to try other flavors again!

The brand's arrival at Robson Street in 2016 brought a touch of romanticism from France, offering a vibrant tea service featuring seasonal fruit and Chantilly cream, as well as visually stunning cakes with fragrant floral and luxurious chocolate or nutty elements.
Charming Parisian spot in Vancouver! Ladurée’s macarons are delicate and beautifully packaged—perfect for a treat or gift. Loved the elegant interior and patio. A bit pricey and can get crowded, but worth it for the experience. Loved the berry one the most!

I took my wife and my two daughters. I must say that this place is very magical! Super clean and tidy. Very stylish. The coffee was super nice. Canada's first laduree, on Robson. This shop has been known to be a luxurious brand. Ladurée Boutique and Tea Salon features much more than just macarons (essentially that's what they are known for) but they do offer viennoiseries, teas, jams and perfumed candles and home fragrances. The line ups were long from the start of their grand opening, but have now eased up. They have about 20 seats inside. I bought a box to try. I have to admit, they are pretty good. If you want an upgrade on the box and packaging, an extra fee is applied.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere here! I ordered the ISPAHAN and the Pistachio, and both tasted amazing. As an Iranian, seeing “ISPAHAN” on the menu gave me such a special feeling 🥹 You could really taste the rosewater and saffron, which are so unique to Iran 🥲 I think we also ordered the Rose drink and a latte. If you love macarons, this is the number one place to visit. Ladurée is a must visit if you ever go to Vancouver for a visit or even live here. The bakery sells the world's best French macaron's and even sells all sorts of other desserts inside. Everything is created with high ingredients and is very delicious 😋 You can take to go or you can actually sit in the back in the French styled tea room. It's actually very nice and makes you feel like stepping back in time. You might have never heard of Ladurée, which I was the same until I visited this bakery that specializes in French macarons. If you've never heard of it please search it up and look at the long history of Ladurée as it's very interesting. If that history alone doesn't sell you on visiting here, please just go in and purchase one baked good here cause I'm telling you this now. It will blow your socks off it's that good 😋 It can be a little pricey but it's totally worth it as you're paying for the higher end ingredients and some of the best macarons in the world 🌎

Off the Grid Waffle Cafe is a modern takeaway spot in Vancouver that offers an enticing array of sweet and savory waffles, as well as breakfast and brunch options. The aroma of freshly cooked waffles fills the air, inviting visitors to indulge in their innovative creations. From classic chicken & waffles to delectable dessert waffles, the menu features a wide variety of choices.
We ordered the Deluxe Chicken N' Waffles with Bacon and Waffle Fries (#14 on their menu), a side of curly fries, and the garlic cheese dipping sauce. The meal was delicious and satisfying. I'm looking forward to returning to sample their drinks. One of the owners personally served us and was exceptionally friendly. They also have a selection of child-friendly board games, adding a fun touch for families. Like many local businesses, they face challenges staying afloat, and I hope they attract more customers soon.

I went here today with a few friends, we shared the waffle fries, garlic mac n cheese, and the strawberry waffles. Garlic Mac n cheese and strawberry waffles were really good and we LOVED the waffle fries. Super crispy and tasty. The strawberry lemonade was delicious. Everything is well priced and they have awesome student discounts!! The interior is so cozy, clean, and well decorated, and they have a bunch of games so we stayed for a while to play some cards, which I absolutely adored. Staff was super nice and the service was fast. Overall super great place and I can’t wait to come back for some comfort food!

the EPITOME of a comfort meal. this is officially one of my favourite bites in vancouver. i got the xl nashville chicken bowl and WOWWW was it good. the mac and cheese was so creamy, velvety, and was subtly spicy, which is great because i feel like usually people make the mac and cheese really bland. the nashville chicken on top was SUPER crispy and also juicy and it was like leaking out with this nice orangy spicy oil into the mac and cheese, enhancing the flavour. the cajun fries at the bottom didn’t add much though, just because they were kinda soggy and you couldn’t taste it with all the cheese sauce. another AMAZING part of the meal was the waffle fries — seriously SO crispy and so hot and warm and perfectly seasoned. dip it in their garlic cheese sauce and you are set for life. pro tip: put some mac and cheese and nashville chicken onto a waffle fry and eat it in one bite — it’s a perfect crunchy crispy juicy bite TRUST ME also the guy was super nice and the board games were really fun to play with while we waited, but the tables were a tad sticky. also great MASSIVE filling portions for a good price

Love the decor. The hostess/cashier was very friendly and was quick with anything we needed. The food was great flavour wise, my reason for the 4 is that the chicken had several chunks of off putting grizzle. If your gunna use chicken thighs you need to look them over and trim them of grizzle. Got the xl chicken bowl and the waffle chicken taco. Also the Mac and cheese was not very warm. Definitely want to come back for the milkshakes, dessert waffles and to try the chicken bombs
Sara-Jane — Google review
Ordered the fried chicken and curly fries , as well as a lavender lemonade - chicken was super crispy and delicious, as well as the curly fries . Amazed that they had so many potato iterations to choose from as a side dish - tatertots, waffle fries, garlic fries, hash brown, regular fries, and curly fries lol The lavender lemonade didn’t really taste anything like lavender so I wish I went with one of their milkshakes instead, which I was eyeing at neighbouring tables The cafe is very small - myself as a group of 6 came here on a rainy Saturday and miraculously were able to find seating . I was pleasantly surprised just how many board games were available - we ended up playing a game that we brought with us but it’d be great to play an in-house game the next time we visit again The lowest point to our visit was the incredibly slow service due to a single person working both as a cashier, cook and server - a simple fried chicken and curly fries order took over 40mins to be served . So hopefully staff plan better for the future, knowing that weekends will be way busier and require more ppl working to improve customer service Overall food and vibes were great and it’d be great to visit again and try more items on the menu

The food was definitely the most memorable part (loved almost everything off the chicken and waffle menu) but it was also a clean and fun atmosphere with tons of great group games. My favourite dish was the chicken and waffle omelette.

Food: Absolutely phenomenal, everything was so flavourful and it was not sickening at all. I thought it will be overpowered and i would be bored of it quick but no!! me and my friends loved it and make sure to get to go for our family to try. The chicken was so crispy every bite and the mac & cheese it the spot. Service: It was a guy that served us our food and take our orders and he was very patient. Atmosphere: The restaurant was cozy and where we were sitting has games that we could play while waiting including cards, board games, and all other type of games to play. This place is truly incredible.

Dessert shop
Dessert restaurant
If you're looking for an imaginative and unique dessert experience, look no further than Snackshot Marpole in Burnaby. This shop features traditional Hong Kong-style desserts and snacks, along with a backdrop of colourful Hong Kong street signs. If you're feeling competitive, you can try your hand at edible mahjong, or enjoy some sweet treats from the bulldog set.
I’m not usually a big fan of desserts, as regular readers of my reviews would know, but this Chinese dessert shop is definitely worth recommending. Our dine-in order for three, plus two takeaway items, came to around $100, which felt a bit pricey. However, the quality of the desserts was excellent—not overly sweet, just right—so it was well worth it. If we’re talking strictly about desserts, this place deserves five stars. The reason I’m giving it four is because we also ordered curry fish balls, which were disappointing. The flavor didn’t really soak in; I’d suggest they refine the recipe rather than just adding curry sauce to it. Back to the desserts—I shared a dessert platter with my wife, which featured nine different treats, each with its own unique taste. It’s a great choice for those who love variety, though it’s even better for a group of three. Personally, I really enjoyed the mung bean soup—it was much smoother and more refined than what you’d find elsewhere. The other desserts were also worth trying. My son ordered a mango slush, which I didn’t taste myself, but both he and my wife said it was excellent.

The savoury food here is not great, I would never order it again. However, the tofu and the desserts here I quite enjoy. Very asian desserts and if I lie to myself, I can even pretend that some of the dishes are healthy if only it was slightly less sweet. I don’t mind this place, but not my first choice.
Kristy C — Google review
Quite pricey for something that isn't expensive to make. The bowls are big but the taste is quite dilute. I got the coconut saigo with ube ice cream and ube paste. Ice cream was good. The taro and sweet potato balls had no flavor to them. I prefer the ones at the taiwanese shops. There's lots of parking nearby and it's open late.

Decent Chinese style dessert place in the Marpole area. It gets pretty busy at night, but luckily it was a stat holiday so it wasn't as bad. Had the cold tofu pudding with ginger syrup. The portion is pretty good. There are other more interesting desserts, such as the one that looks like Mahjong tiles. The decor is quite nice. There are free street parking nearby as well.

Snackshot is a Hong Kong style dessert shop. I'm loving these classic desserts in the marpole area. We are very fortunate to have desserts like this that basically taste as close as it gets to Hong Kong. If you order any bulldog drink, the server will ask if your taking a photo. If so you get a bottle cup holder. The Coke and lemonade is delicious, but I think I would enjoy the red bean one next time. The wooden bucket tofu is comforting. You can adjust the sweetness for yourself with the syrups and sugar provided, but my favourite is the ginger syrup. I would love to come back and try their dessert platter. Alot of people ordered this at every table. It can definitely feed 3-4 people in my opinion.

It's a fun place to go if you want late night and food you can take photos of. First saw this mahjong dessert at night market but found this shop here close to Richmond. They have a few fun things to try and I'll definitely return. The price was a bit high though but late night the parking is easy to find.

Comfort food! Come here for tofu pudding a lot with ginger syrup. Tried the “fresh mango” topping once but turned out to be canned mango. I think they should be represented properly.
Colin C — Google review
Don’t think you can go wrong with any of their Asian desserts - just depends on what you’re in the mood for. The items we got had great flavor. Just stay away from the savory items… I ordered the popcorn chicken expecting Taiwanese style fried chicken - fragrant from the white pepper and basil and perfectly crunchy, chewy and juicy. Instead, I got a big Costco frozen food disappointment :(

Cocktail bar
Bar
The Shameful Tiki Room, established in 2013, is a vibrant tropical-themed venue that offers Polynesian-inspired cuisine, exotic cocktails, and live music. With a focus on reviving the old school Tiki ambience of iconic lounges from the past, this 1,200-square-foot 50-seat restaurant and bar boasts an extensive menu of classic cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
Really friendly and personable bartenders! Designated Driver was one of the best and cheapest mocktails I’ve ever had. It’s not an especially unique tiki bar (I’ve been to many), but it’s still very immersive and fun. Nice and dark inside. If I ever come back to Vancouver, I’ll try the food here next time because it looked really good!
Xär B — Google review
Before coming in, I was heavily excited about checking this place out. There were no servers on sight to have us seated. So we helped ourselves and chose a table to sit at, no problem. After a while, we placed our order as well as enjoying the ambience and decor that surrounded us. The drinks were solid, because with that alone, I would give a 5-star rating. Our Pu Pu Platter arrives and unfortunately it was mediocre. The BIG thing was that the server DID NOT ask us if we had any food allergies. The menu also doesn’t describe other potential ingredients included in the platter because there were pineapples (I’m highly allergic to) in the salad where the ribs sat on top of. omg…I immediately/genuinely did not want to take another bite of the food anymore. I still left a tip even though they forgot to place our taco order that we asked for, but never have I ever experienced this kind of shock/scare. Maybe you will have a better experience than I did… :’( Dined in on 25/05/04

Came here early for a couple drinks. Chill vibe , smoke machines + sound effects later on. Very dark inside. Still easy to talk not super loud. Tried a few different drinks and all were tasty , I like the menu is is very descriptive and images of each of the drinks. My favourite was blue Hawaii , not blended but small chunks of ice. We didn’t try food other than chips + salsa , decent portion $9. Our server was efficient and made sure we always had a drink or asked if we want more. 2 hour time limit on tables.

What a place to be! It's one of the best cocktail bars out there. The vibes are impeccable, the cocktails are to die for! Service is great. Amazing place to have drinks with your friends, hands down! I love the tribal look they have for the place, such a vibe. Do yourself a favor and take a cab to this place because you'll leave turnt 🤣

Started with the Punch bowl , then Zombie and Pain Killer . The drinks are very good and pretty quick . I had the Edamame , Avacado and Crab and Red Curry for dinner with a Salad . My Salad was super clean and fresh and my dressing tasted healthy . I have food allergies and our Server was very helpful . I had zero allergic reactions and furthermore no bloating or any stomachs issues. I didn’t wake up with a hangover in the morning despite the buzz that I had the night before. The lighting is darker than most Tiki places but I don’t mind as they serve interesting drinks throughout the night with special effects . Next time I go I am taking a small flashlight and magnifying glass to see the menu . The service is good . Quick for how busy it is . Our server reminded us of the two hour turn around and she spoke so fast but I just think it was busy so nothing personal . When we asked if we can sit at the bar after there were mixed answers like they maybe wanted us to leave so there is room for those who made reservations to sit at the bar ? Not really sure , my husband asked the Bartender and he said we could stay but then someone told my husband we couldn’t so we left even though we were going to have more drinks . Again I don’t take it personally, I just think there was something going on that Staff was just trying to manage . Everyone was friendly , just very busy. I’m a Tiki enthusiast so I’m just grateful that the Shameful Room is in Vancouver. I definitely plan to go back . We had a great time .

We came here for a friend's birthday. It's a bit dark inside but it's a cool little place to go to. The food was good and reasonable for price.
Domingo S — Google review
The bartenders are friendly and drinks are fantastic. They have an unusual but very tasty painkiller. The Navy Grog was on point. Their house special Day of the Dead was unique and we recommend! I really enjoyed the veggie dumplings. I would pass on the crab dip as it was not very crab filled (perhaps they should transition to just artichoke). Fun ambience too! Check them out for sure if you are big into tiki.
Caitlin G — Google review
After over 10 years of visiting Shameful Tiki Room (Vancouver) with my significant other, I’m finally leaving a review. Long overdue for a place that’s become such an important part of our lives. This is the bar I actively reserve time off for. It’s not just a night out, it’s a full-on escape from reality. Booking a reservation is highly recommended to avoid disappointment, but even if you walk in on a busy night, the staff always go above and beyond to try and fit you in. Our favourite spot is “the throne,” and whenever I request it in the reservation, they do their best to make it happen. Little touches like that really stand out. From the moment you walk in and see the “please wait to be seated” sign (with a cheeky nautical cartoon font you might recognize), you’re transported. The ambiance is immersive (tropical music, flickering lights, surprise gong shows, and classic black-and-white TV clips). It’s theatrical in the best way. The cocktails are consistently phenomenal. They are made with freshly juiced fruits, high-quality in-house syrups (which you can buy, I use them at home), and top-tier garnishes (even the cherries are next level). In over a decade, we’ve never had a single off drink. The Mai Tai on Mondays is a steal at $10, easily the most authentic-tasting one in the Lower Mainland. As a rum connoisseur, their selection is incredible. From high-end labels like Facundo Paraiso, Ron Millonario XO, and Panamonte XXV, to unique Haitian Clarin rums. The food is reasonably priced and pairs well with drinks, making it perfect for casual snacking. That said, it’s the drinks that truly take center stage at this establishment. And yes, when it’s super busy, cocktails can take a bit longer, but I’ll take a carefully crafted drink over a rushed one any day. The bartenders are true pros, and even on packed nights, they keep things moving smoothly. The staff are exceptionally personable and friendly, and they ensure your water is always filled promptly. Looking forward to making many more great memories here.

Half Baked Cookie Company is a charming bakery located in East Vancouver, owned by Chery and her husband. Known for their delectable chocolate chunk cookies, the bakery also offers an array of unique pies with flavors like Milo, POG, and milk tea. Despite its off-the-beaten-path location, the bakery draws long lines of eager customers. In addition to pies and cookies, they also sell bread and scones.
Went there for their pie day special. We got there at opening time and there is a long line up already. Not sure if this is the norm or because of the pie day promo. They have many different selections of pies, some not so usual flavour that you would associate with pie such as Milo, POG, milktea flavour..etc. we got POG, mango mousse, and Nutella banana. The pie isn't too sweet, great fruit flavours. I would def. Go back and try others. They also sell cookies, bread, scones but we didn't try this time. Perhaps next trip.

I have already been craving for cookies for a while. I have never tried Half Baked Cookies before, so I bought five different flavours from them last Sunday before they closed for their summer break (between August 22-31). They will reopen on September 1. The Google rating of the bakery is very high! 4.8 stars! That’s why I had to try their cookies at least once. I got five flavours: peanut butter, chocolate chips, chocolate, oatmeal and pecans, and toffee butterscotch. All of them tasted excellent! They were very addictive lol I saw their online photos that they used to sell matcha cookies but I didn’t see any when I was there. I hope to buy and treat them next time. All of the cookies tasted great! Of course butter makes cookies great! 😬 The server/owner was very friendly. The bakery has a decent size. They sell cookies, pies, coffee beverages and etc. Their pies are very popular. Probably more popular than their cookies. I should try their pies at least once. I will wait to try them when they reopen in September

A great local bakery on the Eastside. Staff is very friendly. Everything is made fresh on site. Banoffee Pie was amazing. Yes; went to a cookie company and had a pie. 😂

Cute small bakery located on the east side of Vancouver. The selection changes weekly. I ordered a pie in advance which was really easy; send an email, request the type of pie and pick up time; it’s that simple! The chocolate haupia pie was fresh & delicious as was the Malaysian cookie.

Everything is amazing - from the owner/head baker to the food! Warm, friendly and inviting - the selection of pies is always different and new and interesting (the matcha & red bean *heart eyes* coffee & dulce de leche *drool*) The biscuits are buttery and savoury and crunchy and soft all at the same time and then with apple butter and jam, wowee.. and if you go on the right day you can get them with eggs & bacon!!!! & the shortbread cookies are so tasty, I could probably eat an entire jar of the coconut flavour in one sitting 10/10 would recommend.

This place makes such delicious treats! I ordered a salted caramel apple pie and also got some coconut shortbread cookies. I was visiting family I actually live in Ontario and started following on Instagram. SO when I arrived I said I had to stop by and they didn't disappoint!! I wish I took a picture of the pie but it didn't last long lol 🙃

I'm usually not a dessert type of person but had to check this place out. Great little bakery is a local gem for the neighbourhood. Will be back again, for matcha red bean pie. Check out their website for their rotating menu

At this time of year I search out new locations for pumpkin pie. Ended up leaving with four different slices... Chocolate Haupia made me feel like I was in Hawaii, Sea to Sky was smooth and decadent, Pumpkin Cheesecske was fantastic, and Pumpkin pie is one of my favourites yet!! And the crust was one of the best I’ve had. Thank you.

Ice cream shop
Chocolate Tofino is a charming and rustic shop that offers unique homemade chocolates and gelato. It is renowned for its delectable desserts, particularly the handcrafted chocolates with their exquisite designs and flavors. What sets this chocolatier apart is its commitment to using sustainable cocoa in all its products. The owners, Kim and Cam Shaw, take great pride in sourcing the best ingredients available to create their treats.
Chocolate Tacofino is great! I started with their hot chocolate—pure perfection and intensely rich. In Vancouver, some places might serve it more diluted (Breka’s is around 60% chocolate, which is already good), but this one tastes like 70-80%—deep, bold, and luxurious. I also picked up some chocolates and beans for giveaways—beautifully packaged and very presentable. Love this place! I’ll be back for the ice cream tonight. So far, so good!
Philip L — Google review
This is a must stop for anyone in Tofino. The chocolate is the best you’ll ever taste and the “made in house” ice cream is as close to perfect as you can ever hope to have. This includes their lactose free ice cream, which they refused to offer until the product was as good as their other options……. And it is by the way, or maybe even a little better. The store has a great vibe and the people working there are a reflection of the fun, friendly, easy going attitude of the shop’s owners Cam and Kim. I wish we had an ability to add a sixth star. Thanks Chocolate Tofino, you really are a diamond in the wilderness.

We stopped by Chocolate Tofino and instantly fell in love with the place! We got some gelato ice cream that was so creamy and delicious, and also picked up chocolate boxes and bars to take home. They have a really nice variety — perfect for gifts or just to treat yourself. The shop smells amazing, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must-visit sweet spot when in Tofino! 🍫🍦

A must-try sweet spot in Tofino! Chocolate Tofino is a popular local gem — luckily, when we visited in the mid-afternoon, the wait was short (about 10 minutes). They offer some unique and creative flavours; we tried the Lavender Honey gelato, and it was fantastic — rich, creamy, and full of floral aroma without being overpowering. The portion size was generous compared to most gelato places. Highly recommend if you’re in town and craving a treat! 🥰

You're likely to encounter a line up on a busy weekend but the visit is worth it. There are SO many flavours of yummy gelato to choose from. Kookville is my favourite so far. Also a great selection of chocolates including the cutest lil' surfboards. It is always on our "must do" list every time we visit Tofino.
Jennie-Lynne R — Google review
Delicious and lots for flavor options. Appreciated that they have a tiny hot chocolate size! Cherry ice cream was so good, hot chocolate was rich and creamy, and we got a free truffle to go with!

Our kids said "5 Stars" By the looks on their faces, they loved Chocolate Tofino! My wife also hit the jackpot with the White Chocoltate Raspberry ice cream. While not the cheapest outing, consider that it is specialty gelato and just don't look at the price 😆

AMAZING customer service. Gluten Free ice cream flavours available, I explained to the staff that I was a celiac and they scooped my ice cream from the back (they offered) to ensure no cross contamination. Ice cream was really yummy. I’d recommend for sure! PS I had the White chocolate Raspberry & Pistachio flavour ice cream xxx
