Local bakery. Lots of fresh baked bread sliced on request. Doughnuts, muffins, croissants & coookies. Have pre-made sandwiches & smears. Can get a bagel & smear as well as a coffee.

Super friendly people (11 out of 10!!) and the bagel was delicious (10/10)! Also tried a sample of their pie bread that they had out which was like an apple fritter meets a sandwich bread loaf (would be great for French toast!). The blueberry scone was a little dry on top (though the inside was moist) and the glaze on the old fashioned donut was a touch soggy and the glaze made it a little too sweet, so more like an 8.5 out of 10 for both of those, but overall would definitely recommend this place!

Edit July 2025: a new sandwich case that has plenty of sandwiches! The coffee eclair was amazing. Edit July 2024: Whenever I travel to the UP I go to Huron Mountain Bakery--it is that good, consistent, and I always find something new to try. This year was no different! The breakfast croissant sandwich was so big I split it with my kid. They didn't have my favorite sandwich in the fridge case so I asked and they made a few up for me. The fresh bread is fantastic, but many of my summer recipes call for day old bread and they have that too! Looking forward to my next trip! Original Post: Everything was amazing!! The bread was my favorite and the kids loved all the pastries. We also had the made ahead sandwiches and they were all fantastic. Something for everyone. Another bonus is it was walking distance from our hotel room!

While on vacation we happened to find Huron Mountain Bakery. It had good reviews so we stopped in for breakfast. It was delicious! We had multiple sweet treats and everyone liked what they got, so much so that we went back again the next morning.

Got lots of donuts, cookies, and other gourmet desserts from the bakery and all were incredibly delicious. There was plenty of room to park our truck and trailer as well. I will definitely be going back and recommending Huron Mountain Bakery to others.

The food at Roy's is very good. The sandwiches are fresh, and they use their own bread. The side options are tasty, I can never decide between the pasta salad or the homemade potato chips. I also love that they have vegetarian options (salads, sandwiches, soups, and pasties). The view, whether indoors or out, is fantastic. They have plenty of outdoor seating, and you can even take your food to a table right on the canal to eat. It's also a great place to meet friends - good location and lots of parking. However, the service could be better. On a recent visit, the young girl at the counter did not greet us, she simply stood at the register and waited for us to order. She did tell us to "haveaniceday," in one bored monotone. My friend and I couldn't remember if we were supposed to wait at the counter for our food or if we were to sit down and she would bring it out to us, so we stood around the counter awkwardly. We were the only customers and the girl did not say anything to us. She walked our food out to a table and waited for us to follow her. She still did not say anything to us, just set the food down and left. A simple "have a seat and I'll bring it out when it's ready" would have been all that was needed. Anticipating customer needs and making them feel welcome are basic customer service skills. I wish I could say that this was a one off, but the counter help often seems reticent, not unfriendly, just reserved and usure of how to engage with the customers.

Had the traditional pastie and it was delicious. The filling had so much flavor. And the crust was flaky yet stayed together. Probably one of the best pasties I've hard. They also had a big selection of desserts. Friendly and fast service. Also a great view of the bridge if you eat outside. The pasties were very affordable.

Delish. The variety of pasties and pastries were beyond what I had expected. Super delicious. Highly recommend. Cute little environment, amazing staff. Clean and well stocked up.

The women working were delightful. They answered all of our questions and were helpful in making our selections. The Magic Bars are rich and delicious, the apple strudel is full of apples and the Nisu bread has a cardamom flavor.

Right on the river. Lovely bakery choices. Some drink options. Good sized food menu. Several pasty options. Hubs got original and I got the turkey and cranberry. Pecan pie bar as well. Delish. The dining area small. You grab food and sit. The tables weren't cleaned but we made do. Great view of river.

Great little place to eat. Our group came here for breakfast. The Swedish based dishes were fabulous and the service was great. Cute atmosphere. Many baked items available to buy at the checkout counter to take with you.

The atmosphere is great... they have about 15 rhythm clocks and about 25 little clocks... like a frog.. lighthouse.. flowers.. and they were all for sale. Loved the dinner... had bread pudding for dessert with custard sauce. The staff were all friendly

Food was diner quality but good, nothing special. Staff was very friendly. Very conscious about covid. Masks and an order required for entry. Nice outside dining area. Prices are reasonable.

Had a wonderful stop for coffee and baked goods. Everything was tasty, service was great, and the space was cosy and accommodating. The breakfasts being served to others also looked really amazing - next time will stop back for a hearty portion of crispy hash browns and eggs! The gift shop is also definitely worth a browse for some cute items.

Wonderful blueberry muffins! So tasty! Get them while you can because they sell out quick! Keep in mind while dining…. This place was recently purchased by new owners. There will always be kinks to work out as new ownership learns the ropes. Plus short staffed so be kind and patient.

Server was really nice. Pasty and French toast were very tasty and pie was excellent. It's not flashy, but homey, and they have a big stuffed moose in a Berry Patch T-shirt. What more could you ask?

It's right on the drive to Tahquamenon Falls State Park. I recommend stopping here for sausage and eggs before hiking through the park. There's lots of parking and outdoor seating. They are COVID-19 safe. The old lady who works the counter here is so sweet and nice. It's everything you want out of a small town bakery and diner. Also if you need to use the bathroom, prepare to witness the throne of Paradise. Literally.

Very welcoming, great food, fun atmosphere - excellent taste in music - and lots of unique items in the gift shop. I'm so glad I stopped in that I had breakfast here two mornings in a row.

What a unique and wonderful place! We had a great meal (breakfast pasty with gravy- their gravy is 11/10) while admiring all the beautiful things to see. The gift shop is adorable and we found a lot of great things to take home. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try.

Where to start? We were greeted kindly upon entering and seated quickly. It felt like we were at a family breakfast, as our hostess sat down and talked to us after placing our order. Come to find out her husband is from the same small town as my wife. The food was quick to arrive and gone even faster. I had the biscuit's & gravy while my wife chose the Finnish Pancake, we both had sourdough toast. Both of the meals were good, but the sourdough took the cake for both of us from the crust, to the taste, and texture. We also bought a few items a t-shirt and some stickers, too. Archie's will be our go-to spot when up rock hounding in the Grand Marais area.

We stumbled on this gem! This has got to be the friendliest restaurant I ever been in. A wonderful experience! And great food!

Great Pannukakku! Husband had biscuits and gravy, which were awesome as well. Family run~ chatted up the Aunt~ love her! Great gift shop upstairs with such fun stuff! The entire place is a treasure!!

My family had the best experience here during our trip to Grand Marais. Judy was our server, and she was so, so kind and helpful. She gave us recommendations for places to visit during our stay, she threw in some extra food samples for us to try, and above all, she was just so warm and friendly. We really needed that after having a negative experience with a rude server elsewhere in town. The food here was amazing and priced reasonably. The atmosphere was so quirky and eclectic. I got some really cool greeting cards and salt and pepper shakers from the gift shop. I highly recommend this place!

Stopped in to try the Kropsua (Finish pancakes) we saw on their website. I now have a new favorite breakfast diner. Sorry Heidi’s of Lake Tahoe, you have been outdone in the quaint Upper Peninsula by Archie’s Diner as our #1 favorite in the USA. Food was amazing, staff were warm and welcoming and the decor was adorable. Very nice gift shop to browse while waiting for a table. Go early and hungry so you can savor the entire experience.

One word of advice, go to Hilltop Restaurant hungry! My husband and I both ordered the Northern breakfast and it was delicious. The hash browns were very tasty and the biscuits and gravy were outstanding. The biscuits were very light and fluffy and the sausage gravy was delicate and not overwhelming. Their famous cinnamon roll is large enough for 2-4 people honestly; we took it to go. We don’t usually go out to breakfast, but Hilltop was definitely worth it!

Fresh home cooked meals for amazing prices. We had the layered meatloaf special this week and it was so delicious we came back a second time just to pig out again. House made soups/salads were super fresh. They have in house made baked goods and the bread is baked fresh on site! We live in Grand Rapids and this food is better than any of the fancy restaurants in the city. We always stop when we visit up north. The head sized cinnamon rolls are coveted by our neighbors and friends when we get home. They also sell local maple syrup/goodies, and firewood.

Cinnamon rolls and bread were fantastic! We got it to go. The roll pictured is in a full size dinner plate. 5 adults shared a roll… we got 4 so we had several to share.

It's about as quaint as you can get in a small town up north. We go specifically for the cinnamon roll and the omelets are pretty good too.

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Wow! The food was excellent. Fresh bread. The cinnamon rolls were huge and tasted fantastic!

Breakfast buffet was out of this world! Best breakfast pizza I’ve ever had, surprised how good the gravy was, and the biscuits were dense but also incredibly fluffy! The staff were also very friendly and very good at their jobs! HIGHLY recommend

We got a decent selection of items here. Pesto turkey sandwich 11/10. It was one of the best sandwiches my husband, my sister, and I have ever had. The pesto and turkey together was magnificent and bursting with flavors. So good I forgot to take a photo. Fruit cup-9/10 fresh random mixed fruit . Lavender blueberry macron- 9/10. Bursting with lavender flavor with hints of blueberry. Vanilla bean macron- 6/10 standard vanilla macron nothing special. Strawberry matcha- 1/10 didn’t taste like matcha or strawberry. Double chocolate chip muffin- 4/10 very dense and bitter. Meaty stuff burrito- 9/10 it tasted silky with a soft crunch shell and was very juicy and delicious. The Belgian chocolate chip cookie 7/10- the cookie was hard to chew but good.

I have to share my AMAZING experience with Babycakes catering my wedding reception. In the early planning stages I had told Chanin, the owner, that I wanted navy blue and sunflower theme but didn’t really have any other vision. She took this and ran with it. She did ALL my flowers for the ceremony and the reception, ALL my decorations, ALL of the set up and ALL of the cleanup. It’s an understatement to say she made my day absolutely magical. Without her my day wouldn’t have been half as memorable as it was. Her attention to detail, her style, her little touches, her expertise…all of it came shining through. Everyone absolutely raved about the food and they were all blown away at how great the party tent looked. Chanin poured her heart and soul into this wedding reception and every bit of it showed. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough!!!

Cute place with a variety of choices. We had muffins which were pretty tasty. The coffee was good. My son had some kind of cake which he enjoyed. The service was great as well. If I ever make it up that way again I will return.

They have amazing food! Breakfast burritos are delicious and filling. The muffins are huge and the other foods they have look amazing! Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Marquette.

Babycakes is delicious! My partner and I stop in here every October when we visit! Wr love stopping in early in the morning, getting one their delicious muffins and a coffee and then take a walk down to the water! Love the vibe here as well, reminds us of old school coffee shops! They have also increased their selections it grab and go and sweets, and those do not disappoint either!

My friend and I had breakfast at Babycakes this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. They offer a lovely selection of muffins and pastries, and have several delicious sandwich/wrap options. I had the "Just Bein' Cheesey" wrap and it was fabulous -- my favorite meal in Marquette. My friend had the "Veggie Breakfast Wrap" and also enjoyed it. Everyone was kind and friendly. We hope to return and visit again one day!

First time here, wasn’t exactly sure how to order based on the bakery case & where registers were. But after watching a few locals, I hopped right in line. Cute little bakery with friendly staff. Muffins were moist & delicious!

I was at Jamsen’s bakery in Copper Harbor, Michigan in September 2025. They were the only food and beverage place that was open at 7 AM in a very quiet and sleepy town. They had great coffee and tea and the muffins were spectacular. The gluten-free banana walnut muffins sensational. Also, I discovered thimbleberry jam. It would’ve never occurred to me to buy a jar of jam that cost $24, but after trying a jar, I went back and bought six more for gifts. Don’t hesitate to give this place a try. You will be happy that you did.

We had heard about the Thimbleberry donuts, so we sought out the bakery as soon as we arrived in Copper Harbor. So glad we did! Absolutely delicious, and you can't beat the view while enjoying your donut.

Stopped here on the way out of town last week. Friendly service. Great hot and cold coffee...you get what you ordered. The breakfast sandwich was really really good!

Oh my. The thimbleberry glazed, homemade donuts are ahhhmazing. The owner was so nice to chat with. The coffee was hot and the tea hit the spot! Go see her! Off the beaten path, down on the waterfront, with outdoor seating to relax and take in the wonderful views of Lake Superior. The water is sooo clear! Great place for an afternoon pick-me-up snack! She serves all kinds of bakery items and quick sandwiches, also, as well as coffee and teas.

Love this place for a great selection of coffees and tasty treats. Its a great location to sit at the picnic table right on water enjoying the breeze and beautiful scenery.

Can't speak highly enough about this place. We got quite the variety of items and all were perfect. Very fair pricing as well. They have a nice outdoor seating area with stunning views.

I’ve had the cupcakes ordered for Grad Parties and they are delicious. But hands down this is the greatest Jalapeño Cheddar bread I have ever had. They sliced this bad boy up in front of me in a nifty little machine. It was glorious.

The donuts were amazing! We got 2 sandwiches to split and they were so delicious! Went around noon. They were pretty cleaned out of donuts but not a shocker. There were still a lot of options. The woman behind the counter was pretty rude though. We were tourists and struggling to make choices. We were also the only people there. But she rolled her eyes at us a couple of times. Still was still helpful and quick but it must have been a long day by the time we got there. The food was so good definitely going back. Don't let rolling eyes spoil your appetite. The food is HUGE and you'll need all the room in your stomach for every bite. 😋

Very nice bakery along US highway 41 in Ishpeming. Good selection of pastries, rolls, fresh baked bread, cakes and muffins. Coffee and cold drinks also available. They do have some sandwiches for sale, and it seems like they offer pizza at times, but not when I stopped in. Very friendly staff. Worth a stop in for breakfast or lunch.

Great place, great people, amazing chocolate croissants. 😂 I had to special order some because every time I went they were sold out. But look how BEAUTIFUL. Makes me wanna cry tears of joy.

So I knew about the one in Marquette and had it saved in my Maps but I did not know about this location until I was past it on our way to our rental at Lake Gogebic. I about gave my relative whiplash turning around. It was early and I was hungry. I love this place. They have it all. We loaded up with goodies and headed across road to local recreation area and found this cool spot to enjoy our bounty. We also stopped on the way back South several days later.b

Stopped in just to ask if they happened to have any dog friendly treats for our dog’s birthday. Became a victim of the Gen Z stare from the zoomer working behind the counter 😂 no smile, no friendly greeting, nothing. So sorry I’m inconveniencing you to do your job, my guy. I’ve had so many mediocre/poor experiences here it’s laughable at this point. This one sealed the deal though. Won’t be back.

Wonderful baked goods...however be sure to ask if the breads are fresh. I have never shopped a bakery that didn't label their breads from the previous day as "day old". It took awhile before I realized that the "fresh" breads may not be available until the afternoon sometime...or mixed in with the unlabeled day old bread...you have to ask to be sure.

The entire family loves this place. Something for everyone. Sweet, savory, amazing baguettes, delicious scones and cookies, loaves are to die for. We are so happy this place exists! You guys are doing amazing things over there! (Some of the best baguettes outside of Europe!)

All our pizza dough, burger buns, and bread loaves are from the Marquette Baking Company and they are fantastic! Excellent quality. The owner and staff are extremely responsive whenever we need anything and communication is A++. This is a bakery that takes a lot of pride in what they do and it shows.

Friendly staff, fresh bread, great experience. It's a small shop tucked in the corner but they have a decent selection of fresh bread and pastrys. I had a blueberry Scone which was big enough for two... Or one lol. Prices were pretty fair in comparison to other shops scone was $3 but sized appropriately and all other bread and pastry seemed reasonably priced as well. Scone reminded me of a classic bisquick mix, a little salt, nice and dry, great crust just the way a scone should be. Overall a pleasant little shop I will surely be stopping by again!

In October I needed to find a company to cater a training I was hosting in the Marquette area. After a quick Google search I stumbled upon the Marquette Baking Company. I'm so glad I did. Peter was amazing to work with. He was prompt, flexible and provided amazing customer service. He customized my order and everyone loved the selection of goodies. I look forward to working with him again in the future!!

Customer service was great; friendly and helpful staff! Walk in and its like heaven, smells amazing. The pie we ordered was great! I'm sure the other items on their menu are just as good. Highly recommended.

I only had a chocolate croissant but it was the best I’ve had. It actually had chocolate through out and drizzled on each bite. So many any other bakery only have a few drops of chocolate in the croissants. Every item looked great.

It's a fantastic Bakery Shoppe in Iron Mountain. I stopped in to pick up some treats to drop off at Peninsula Title, and Patricia took great care of me! She greeted me right away and helped walk me through the options as I put together an appreciation gift for the office. I also took home a day-old loaf of the Mediterranean Herb — sliced, toasted, and topped with a little butter, it didn’t make it through the night.

Stopped here based on the reviews from goggle. It was a nice place but there were two kids working and they didn’t know how to make a latte and struggled taking orders. We asked for two large caramel latte, one was in a large cup one was in a medium cup, neither were full and had a very faint coffee flavor. If I could’ve put 0 stars I would’ve, not a good experience

Extremely disappointed by the way I was treated over the phone today. I called this morning to inquire about placing a larger order for a product with a 24/48 hour pickup - Fully understanding that it was under short notice, only inquiring if it was a possibility. The man who took my call and the baker he was communicating with treated me like I was an idiot and were so demeaning and disrespectful. I could clearly hear them talking to each other while I was on “pause” about how “mind boggling” my request was, how they couldn’t believe a customer would assume they can call and ask for this product on such short notice, and how ridiculous and inconvenient my order was. After coming back to the phone, they requested my number so they could call me back with an answer and I declined. If you are going to talk poorly of your customers, at least make sure they can’t hear you. I’ll order a cake from Super One before I give my money to people that think I’m that overwhelmingly stupid. It was really upsetting to listen to. We ordered our wedding cake from this bakery last year and loved it - Really sad that we will never be going back. I encourage the owner of this establishment to reconsider their staff.

Their bakery is always awesome and Pam is the sweetest employee! Make sure you check out the "day old" section to get a deal in the morning. My go to are the muffins and cookies.

So, there was a wedding at the country club where I work, and afterwards the family graciously left an amazing selection of cupcakes and macarons for the staff to enjoy. I'm 57 and I've had my share of cupcakes, but these were the best I've had in my entire life. The homemade buttercream frosting was like a freaking cloud of sweet happiness and heaven. I ate one cupcake (out of the three I snagged) and very nearly cried. An hour later I decided to try the macaron. I've never had one before. I immediately LEAPT on the golf cart to go back to the clubhouse to see if there were any left. That's when I cried because they were GONE. Very long story short, I googled them and showed up after work today and bought a dozen macarons. I may go back in the morning to get some of those cupcakes. They've also got homemade bread that I'm sure I'm going to destroy soon. If you live anywhere near Iron Mountain, Michigan, you'll never regret stopping at the Bakery Shoppe.

One of the best bakery’s I have stepped in to. While traveling the UP my wife and I love stopping in local bakery’s for our goods. A few desserts and a loaf of garlic Asiago, and we were in heaven. The bread especially was some of the best I’ve had!
