The Basílica de la Sagrada Família, located in the Example district of Barcelona, is a renowned unfinished church designed by Antoni Gaudí. Construction began in 1882 and has continued for over a century after Gaudí's death. The basilica features impressive facades representing the glory, the Birth, and the Passion of Jesus. It boasts 8 imposing towers with panoramic city views from elevators on each facade.
The Sagrada Familia is truly a masterpiece. It's a unique and must-see structure. Construction is still underway, and it's expected to be completed around 2026. New details are being added every day, and I'm amazed every time I see this monument. We paid 26 euros per person to enter. It costs 26 euros for those under 30, and 30 euros for those 30 and over. I recommend purchasing tickets from the Sagrada Familia official website before arriving. There are some scam sites, so you should choose the official website. There's a long line to buy tickets, but if you have your tickets online, simply scan the QR code when the time comes to enter. Also, a little tip: the souvenir shops right in front are expensive; if you go downstairs, you can buy some beautiful magnets for 1 euro. The entrance is accessible for disabled individuals and strollers. The tour takes almost an hour and a half..

Visiting the Sagrada Família was honestly one of the highlights of my trip. You see photos everywhere, but nothing compares to standing in front of it and realizing how enormous and detailed it really is. Designed by Antoni Gaudí, construction started in 1882 and it’s still not finished but it's coming to an end. There’s something amazing about seeing a building that’s been growing for more than a century and continues to evolve with each generation continuing Gaudi's vision. Every part of it tells a story: the Nativity Façade is full of life and nature, while the Passion Façade is dramatic and emotional. Inside, the light through the stained-glass windows looks magical — it changes color throughout the day and fills the space with warmth, peace and wonderful colours. Even with all the crowds, the atmosphere is calm and awe-inspiring. It really feels like a place where art, faith, and nature come together. It's one of the most beautiful landmarks on the world. Book tickets online in advance and go early in the morning if you want to avoid long lines. And if you can, climb one of the towers — the view over Barcelona is unforgettable.

The Basilica de la Sagrada Família in Barcelona is one of the most extraordinary architectural masterpieces in the world. Designed by Antoni Gaudí, it perfectly combines faith, art, and innovation. The intricate details of the façade, inspired by nature and biblical stories, are breathtaking, while the interior feels almost otherworldly, filled with colorful light streaming through the stained-glass windows. The atmosphere inside is both peaceful and awe-inspiring. Although the basilica is still under construction, this adds a unique charm, witnessing a living piece of history being completed. Visiting the Sagrada Família is an unforgettable experience and an absolute must-see in Barcelona.

The Sagrada Familia is incredible. We did a guided tour which was great for a couple reasons. One, we got to walk pass the line with our guide which saved us time. Also, our guide was able to give us so many details about the structure we wouldn't have noticed otherwise. We went during the Golden Hour, which is when the sun is setting and the light shines through the stain glass, creating a Golden light. The details in the structure from the outside to the inside is spectacular. Highly recommend getting tickets way in advance so you don't miss out on the Sagrada Familia.

We had a guided tour. We don't normally do this but in this case it was necessary. The guide was informative amusing and personable. As for the Sagrada Familia itself, quite simply WOW! It was everything we had been told and so much more. The explanations of Gaudi's reasoning for the various aspects of the design brought the whole building into focus. It is truly an experience. The company we used was The Tour Guy. If all their guides are as good as ours you cannot go wrong. It may seem costly but IMHO it's worth it.

When in Barcelona, you have to visit the masterpiece of Gaudí. Book your tickets in advance and also get a guided tour. It will be a tour of around two hrs and your guide will explain about each and everything. This place is not just a church it’s a masterpiece of human kind. This place is an experience that you must do. I will recommend to visit either early in morning at the time of sunrise or in evening around 4pm at sunset. You will experience the place at its best and you will able to see the importance of time and light in the church. It’s the best architecture i have ever seen. Must book your tickets at-least 20 days in advance and also choose the tower access for the best views in city.

The Basilica of the Sagrada Família is truly one of the most awe-inspiring sites in the world and should be on your must-see list in Barcelona. No photos can capture the feeling of standing inside and seeing the light pour through the stained-glass windows—it’s breathtaking. The blend of color, geometry, and symbolism in Gaudí’s design is unlike anything else. Every column and carving feels purposeful, telling a story that connects nature, faith, and art. We booked a guided tour in advance, which made entry smooth and stress-free. The tours have a dedicated line making clearing security and entering the Basilica easy and highly recommended for the information provided by the guides making the experience more memorable. Allow at least 60-90 minutes to fully take it in, and don’t rush. Whether you’re religious or not, this is a place that inspires reflection and wonder. You are welcome to sit and reflect in one of the pews or simply rest your feet. You can buy tickets to view Barcelona from the top or visit the basement for more history and the gift shop. Unlike any church or basilica you will see.

Magnificent structure! I have visited Barcelona three times, and during my second visit, I had the chance to explore the interior as well. Both the inside and outside are truly unique. It’s an amazing experience to examine the figures on the exterior one by one. The ticket includes an audio guide, and by downloading the Sagrada Familia app to your phone, you can access a step-by-step audio guide that explains both the exterior and interior of the building. By the way, I recommend purchasing your ticket a week or two before your trip.

Architectural Buildings
La Pedrera - Casa Milà, also known as "The Stone Quarry," is a remarkable building designed by Gaudi during his Catalan art nouveau period. The structure features a quarry-like facade and hosts various exhibitions and concerts. This luxurious apartment building, inspired by nature's spontaneous forms, is now a museum owned by a local bank. It offers numerous exhibition rooms and a concert hall, making it a unique place to visit in Barcelona.
The day before I went to Casa Batlló and that place truly sets the standards high maybe 7 stars, nevertheless the visit to La Pedrera IS certainly a serious 5 considering how well narrated the audio/video guide is and how extremely well kept the building is. At the time of my visit to the elevator was off for a couple of hours for maintenance, I was given the option to come by a little later or use the stairs for the first couple of floors; I recommend highly the stairs because it shows you the kind of attention to detail that went into the design of this marvelous building. I took my time walking up the stairs just enjoying otherwise common things like the handrails and wall surface finishes all the while commenting "if this are the service stairs how could the rest of the building be"... Soon you reach the first stop on the tour and you discover why Gaudí considered this his favorite family house. From little things usually overlooked but important as the ventilation to the design for the natural illumination of every apartment, this place is a Marvel of design ideas everyone can borrow from to make your next home better since Antonio Gaudí's design relied on ingenuity more than expense as one discovers little by little from room to room. There's a store within the building that is a museum on to itself, the items on it take you back to the Art Nouveau period, from elegant glassware and dining sets to beautiful wood miniatures of some of Gaudí's furniture concepts (quite expensive unless you considere they are all perfect replicas all the way to the wooden joinery - these are not toys they the perfect gift for any architect or industrial designer). I visited La Pedrera on a Sunday of September and although the entrance was obviously crowded, once inside the building it did not feel crowded at all; I attribute this to the well set pace of the tablet guides, exactly the same as it was at the Casa Batlló tour. As an Industrial Designer I believe what I enjoyed the most what's the underside of the roof top, it's a part of a building that's usually not shown but Gaudí expressed his creativity even on purely functional elements like those 231 different arches that you get to enjoy from the inside whilst discovering details of several famous buildings thru beautifully made models with individual narrations explaining the constructions for each. Just that space is worth the price of admission for anybody interested in Great Design, but getting to see the city from the rooftop full of those giant and so organic chimneys is the icing on the cake. On any day 1 can see all the way to the mountains and get excellent shots giant chimneys all around you. A must see for any visitor of Barcelona, and a life experience to any designer or art lover. I plan on visiting again and again every time I get a chance to visit this amazing design city of Barcelona.

Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, is absolutely stunning! Gaudí’s creativity and attention to detail are on full display here — from the flowing stone façade to the beautifully designed interiors and the surreal rooftop with its sculptural chimneys. The audio guide was excellent and really helped me understand the architectural innovations and history behind the building. The rooftop views of Barcelona are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Everything was well organized and staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely one of the must-see Gaudí masterpieces in Barcelona — an unforgettable experience!

We visited the Casa Milà late at night, having booked the night tickets, the group was only about 10 people, which was great! The tour guides know the building very well, and we learned a lot. We walked up to the 4th (a nice experience, as it is the original materials). Here, the museum/foundation has recreated the entire living experience i.e. as people would be living back when it was built. Very impressive. The tour then visits the upper areas of the building, where a.o. a huge maquette of the structure is used to explain all of the innovative techniques and inventions that were applied during construction, really amazing. Finally we went all the way up to the roof, with spectacular views of the surrounding City, and top it all off, a very nice sound and light show, and a walk around of the entire roof, with some of its amazing structures. The tour ends with a glass of cava and some sweets. We really enjoyed it!

I was in two minds whether to go in or let it be but again wanted to check what the legendary Antoni Gaudi had in store. Going in was a good call in the end. Highlight for me was not the furniture or interiors. They are pretty much the same for the period they belong to. Thr highlights for me were the patio, the loft, the chimneys and the roof itself. This is where Gaudis work shines :)

Fascinating place if you appreciate design and architecture. I booked my ticket online with fast entry option. You can take a souvenir photo towards the end of the visit at one of the beautifully decorated windows overlooking the street (paid & worth it).

Cute designs! The experience is much different from the view on YouTube. I ended up buying a book to learn more about all of his buildings. To the surprise of the ignorant me 😶 Catalans respect time much more than French and Italian. Unlike the Louvre or Palazzo Pitti, reservation time slots are very honored. We missed ours and we had to wait for another hour for an empty spot. I wished Antoni designed something for the rain though, so that residents and tourists could enjoy their time when it's pouring 😄 waiting for the rain to stop at the moment. Best time for photos

Historical & Iconic & Landmark Building This is one of the most iconic Building done by Gaudi. If not the MOST iconic. I visited it a few times and always enjoy it. What is amazing is you can visit it ten times and each time you will discover something new. The view from the roof top are also amazing! Highly recommended visit, by us.

Palau de la Música Catalana is an exquisite concert hall in Barcelona, located near the Barrio Gotico. The neighborhood is famous for its charming streets filled with tapas restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The basilica of Santa Maria del Mar and Palau de la Musica Catalana are the main attractions here.
Such a beautiful venue, rich in history and architectural brilliance! We did the guided tour, which made the experience so much better. This is such a beautiful place, and the music sounds magnificent! I look forward to watching a show here one day soon, where I can truly appreciate the magic that this place has to offer! Highly recommended! 😀

This is an extraordinary building. Set in the Gothic water. It has an entry in one of the side streets. It has a lovely exterior with some amazing sculptures, but this is only a small introduction to the extraordinary interior. The acoustics which are wonderful are benefited by the entire ceiling and much the walls being tiled. The back of the stage is also tiled with extraordinary torsos of women coming out of the wall, playing instruments and representing the arts. The two sculptures on either side of the perineum are amazing but the highlight is the multicolored lead light glass center over the auditorium. Its vibrant color and intricacy is astounding. We were fortunate enough to get tickets to see a pianist and it was a wonderful concert. There is a cloak room to the left of the main stairs in a newer section of the Theatre. The men’s bathrooms are downstairs, and the female facilities are upstairs. Definitely worth making the effort to visit this extraordinary building.

Incredibly beautiful, ostentatious, ornate concert hall. I can't say I've ever been anywhere quite like it. We did the audio guided tour - it costs 22€, which is pretty steep, especially since the tour only takes 50 minutes and you have to take your own headphones. I'd still recommend it though, because the palau is small but not to be missed, and the audio guide is well written and produced with lots of interesting history about the venue, its architecture and interior design.

Just had an amazing visit to Palau de la Música Catalana! 🌟 The staff were super friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. The content of the tour was fascinating, and I loved learning about the history and architecture of this stunning venue. For the price, it was totally worth it! Highly recommend! 🎶

Better than simply admiring the structure — and it is magnificent — is experiencing the theater come alive during an actual concert! It was an incredible and mesmerizing experience to watch a renowned Flamenco guitarist perform with other talented artists. The spirit of the place just comes fully alive. Beats the usual building tour by a hundredfold.

I confess, I was hesitant to venture here at first. But the very moment my foot crossed the threshold of this architectural marvel, my hesitation was obliterated in a glorious explosion of awe. Every inch, from the noble pillars to the elegant balconies, whispers of craftsmanship, care, and genius. If you are in pursuit of inspiration, dear traveller, you’ve just found its headquarters.

The Palau de la Música Catalana is a true masterpiece of Modernist architecture — a breathtaking fusion of art, light, and music. Every detail, from the stained-glass skylight to the intricate mosaics, feels alive with creativity and passion. It’s not just a concert hall; it’s a celebration of Catalan culture and the beauty of human imagination.
Lily — Google review
Absolutely mind blowing and stellar venue for such a small footprint. We did the tour and then also went to see a concert the following night (ABBA) and it was absolutely awesome. Other than small/old chairs, this venue is outstanding. The acoustics and art covering literally every surface make it an amazing audio and visual experience. The history behind it and the tour is also well worth the ~$15-$20. (Like apparently every museum or tourist site in Spain, be advised that the tech / app / audio guide is finicky and deeply not intuitive, if it works at all.)

The Arc de Triomf in Barcelona is a triumphal arch designed by Josep Vilaseca as the main entrance gate for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair. This classical archway, built in Neo-Mudejar style with Islamic reddish brickwork, stands at the end of Park Ciutadela and served as the main gateway during the Universal Exhibition. Located near clothing shops and Chinese-owned restaurants, it's a popular spot for visitors due to its convenient location near public transportation.
A must visit monument in Barcelona, Spain. The place is always crowded with tourists and natives who just use the place for running and evening hangout. The place has multiple performers like singers and musician around which makes the experience even better! Recommend the place for anyone visiting Barcelona!

Scenic & Spectacular Arc de Triomf If you are in Barcelona this is definitely a must visit place for you. It is one of the most iconic Monument in Barcelona. This square is always frequented by both locals and tourist. It can get quite crowded. Note what I like about it is that it still feels quite local somehow. You will not regret visiting it is very grand.

Absolutely a landmark you should visit and admire as part of your trip to another destination (like getting lost in the gothic quarter, or on your way to the Museu Picasso, or on a hike to La Barceloneta). There are lots of people who will let you pay them for food to feed their birds (which is fun, albeit fleeting for a euro). Beautiful structure!
David K — Google review
Stunning building, great historic significance as it was built for one of the world fairs hosted in barcelona. Always worth to visit and take a walk nearby. It’s close to parc de la Ciutadella or “el born” where you can go for a nice stroll.

Popular tourist spot for selfies. Plenty of space to get whatever angle you want. Really quite nondescript, but I found the bat gargoyles on it pretty cool. It's within walking distance of other things on my loop, so just added it in. Expect plenty of people during tourist season.

Arc de Triomf is such a beautiful and vibrant place to visit in Barcelona. The architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere around it is full of life, with people walking, cycling, and enjoying the wide avenue. During the day, it feels bright and lively, and at night it becomes magical with the lights giving it a special charm. A perfect spot for photos, relaxing, and soaking up the city’s spirit. Truly an unforgettable part of Barcelona

Vibrant place, easy to access no wait time, no ticket purchase was necessary, activities and stalls, near walking distance to Parc de la Ciutadella, surrounded by many restaurants-cafes-public transportation. Sant Pau Recinte Modernista is a stunning modernist hospital in Barcelona, featuring colorful Moorish-style pavilions and beautiful gardens. Designed by the modernist architect Domenech Muntaner, it was originally built to replace medieval facilities and featured innovative patient distribution by sex and illness type. The hospital's outer courtyard boasts majestic buildings in Catalan Art Nouveau style, offering plenty of photo opportunities.
One of the most beautiful places I visited in Barcelona. The architecture is breathtaking—colorful tiles, stained glass, and domes that feel more like an art museum than a hospital. Walking through the gardens and pavilions was peaceful and not overcrowded like other spots in the city. A bit off the main tourist path, but absolutely worth it.
Axel — Google review
A beautifully restored and colorful old hospital. The atmosphere is great, and it’s fascinating to see what hospitals used to look like back in the days. Many of the buildings, rooms, and offices have been restored and can be visited. Lemon and lime trees grow all over the place, very charming and peaceful place (these days). An unusual place, I enjoyed it ☺️

This is one of Barcelona's hidden gems that you absolutely must see. The hospital complex is an exceptionally well-preserved architectural and artistic masterpiece, featuring beautifully maitained interiors and a charmin exterior with gardens and orange trees, palms... It's definitely a visit you will never regret.
Gregor Z — Google review
A truely hidden gem in Barcelona though it is not even on the top ten list for must seeing. The architectures of this previous hospital is beyond amazing. I wish they have more building's open to the public. Currently they have about ten buildings for showing. You could spend hours to enjoy them. In addition, the front gate of this museum is a very good spot for taking picture of the Sagrada Familia.
Barshan — Google review
From the outside it already looks great, but once you get inside — you see it’s much more than just a nice courtyard. The buildings are beautifully restored, with colorful mosaics, stained glass, and vaulted ceilings that feel more like a palace than a hospital. We didn’t use the audio guide — just walked around by ourselves — and still found it totally worth it. There’s a recreated hospital room from the 1920s, underground passages between the pavilions, and a calm atmosphere away from the usual tourist chaos. If you’re into architecture or just want a break from the crowd — this is a great spot. Quiet, spacious, beautiful.

Visited only because it is 15 mins walk near Sagrada Familia. Not good not bad, but once after visiting Sagrada Familia, this looks very average and there are much less tourists. Prefer spending your time in a cafe rather than visiting it, unless you are really interested. Or just have a photo without entering it. Consist of 7-8 buildings but only half of them are opened, not much to see and the chair are pretty dirty, i rate this 6/10

This was a former hospital turned museum which gave a lot of insight of the type of work this hospital was doing in the 1920s and beyond. There is also some artworks in there for you to explore. The architecture of the buildings are magnificent and are an attraction within itself

Caelis is a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant located in Barcelona, known for its artfully plated gastronomical creations and innovative approach to Mediterranean haute cuisine. Headed by chef Romain Fornell, who has an impressive culinary background, the restaurant offers two tasting menus or à la carte options featuring dreamlike dishes. The immaculate plating and vibrant colors of the dishes make them resemble works of art.
We had a great lunch experience at Caelis. Staff was well-trained and thoughtful. The lunch menu itself was lovely. The appetizers were a big hit - especially the small ball containing vermouth & the wasabi cracker with tuna tartar. Flavours were interesting, yet very accessible. And the best part: the price for this type of experience is very well set. We paid €65 per person for the lunch menu (excluding an aperitif & tip).
Camille L — Google review
Caelis offers a memorable dining experience with three distinct tasting menus: an extended version of around 20 items, a more condensed 15-course menu, and a vegetarian menu of the same length. The creativity and ambition are evident throughout the courses, though some dishes shined brighter than others. The highlights of the evening were without question the tuna belly and vermouth bombón—both refined, flavorful, and absolutely show-stopping. The veal and potatoes from the main courses were also excellent. On the other hand, some items missed the mark: the pâté from the appetizers lacked depth, and the grilled red mullet had an overly strong fishiness that detracted from the experience. Desserts ended the night on a high note. The cheese selection was well-curated, and the petit fours were delightful, but the standout was the chocolate dessert—a brilliant play with liquid nitrogen that created chocolate crumbles, both fun and delicious. Service was impeccable overall, with an attentive sommelier who guided us toward excellent wine pairings. The staff was professional and welcoming, though the pacing of courses was inconsistent—sometimes dishes arrived too close together, other times the gaps felt a bit too long. For a one-star Michelin restaurant, Caelis delivers very good food and a polished experience, but not every dish reached the same level of excellence. Still, it’s a worthwhile stop for a special night in Barcelona, with small improvements that could make it truly outstanding.
Melanie J — Google review
We chose the Earth and Sea menu (125€) and as it was a special occasion also treated ourselves to the wine pairing (85€). Everything was tasty and worth the wait. However 45mins till we started the experience was certainly a wait. The somelier was excellent, as was the wine. The waitress service was ok, functional and going through the motions rather than enjoying her job it felt. Recommended for a special occasion or a real treat.
Jeff B — Google review
One of few michelin star places with a vegetarian tasting menu. The flavours were beautiful. The pineapple air dessert was our favourite! And so were the bon bons
Kavina K — Google review
An extraordinary dining experience at Caelis. Every dish is crafted with precision and creativity — from the bombón vermouth to the gamba de Palamós con bullabesa, each bite tells a story. The service is impeccable, the wine pairing (Clos Mogador 2021 🍷) exceptional, and the atmosphere elegant yet relaxed. One of Barcelona’s true culinary gems — Chef Romain Fornell delivers art on every plate.

Dining at Caelis in Barcelona was a sublime experience from start to finish. From the elegant atmosphere inside the Ohla Barcelona hotel to the beautifully presented tasting menu crafted by Romain Fornell—each course felt like a work of art and packed with flavour. The service was polished, the sommelier’s pairings enhanced every dish, and the open-kitchen setting added an exciting behind-the-scenes touch. If you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply treat yourself, this is fine dining at its best.

Located in Ohla Barcelona hotel with the avant garde eyes all over. Sea and earth menu dinner: - the main critique would be the pacing, overall dining in Spain is frame shifted later than the rest of the world but I felt for the number of courses I was surprised that the last course only came out past 11pm! Comparing with the other tables we felt that the pacing of ours was slower and we were left with the impression that they had not enough staff. - the appetizers and amuse bouches were their strongest. The coloured butters of rosemary, olives and tomato felt slightly bland, would have preferred if the butters were more salted. - the dessert course of various chocolate textures with the liquid nitrogen chocolate granita felt slightly gimmicky, esp when served at 11:30pm. I felt that it was overall too rich and almost monotonous.

Yesterday, I had the immense pleasure of experiencing lunch at Caelis, and it was everything you'd hope for from a Michelin-starred establishment and more. From the moment I stepped in, the beautiful elegance and aesthetic of the restaurant created a captivating atmosphere, setting the stage for what was to come. The service was a masterclass in hospitality: professional yet wonderfully relaxed and full of life. It's rare to find such a perfect balance, making for a truly comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. The culinary journey began with appetizers that were fresh, delicate, and bursting with flavor. A true standout, even for someone like me who isn't usually fond of it, was the incredible white asparagus dish. It was perfectly cooked, served with a lovely velvety sauce and delicate trout eggs—truly a dish to remember. Another highlight was the sweetbread (mollejas), presented with its own rich reduction sauce and vibrant vegetables. The texture was amazing, and the flavors were deep and intense, showcasing remarkable skill. Indeed, the food throughout the meal was nothing short of consistently exceptional, delivering the high expectations one has for a Michelin-starred kitchen. It was a very well-rounded experience, exactly what you'd anticipate from a restaurant of this caliber. The wine pairing was a highlight, featuring exceptionally unique wines, some with limited runs of only 200 bottles! Our sommelier was not only incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through these rare selections, but also possessed a truly lovely character, adding another layer of enjoyment to the meal. The maître was equally impressive – professional, friendly, and attentive. Chef Javi himself was delightful, and the entire team at Caelis ensured every detail was perfect. This is undoubtedly a place to come back to. If you're looking for an extraordinary culinary experience in Barcelona, Caelis should be at the top of your list.

Restaurant
Fismuler Barcelona, located in the trendy El Borne neighborhood, offers a unique dining experience with its artistic ambiance and delectable food. The menu features regularly changing dishes, including favorites like dorada tartare with almonds and grapes, truffled escalope with low-temperature egg yolk, and a decadent cheesecake that resembles ripe camembert. The restaurant's light-filled dining room in Hotel Rec or small outdoor terrace provide inviting settings for enjoying the culinary delights.
I can't speak highly enough of this place. The food is absolutely delicious and creative. Each dish has so much flavour. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff are very attentive and knowledgable. For the quality you get, the price is very reasonable. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Spain!

The place came highly recommended by friends and had great online reviews, so we made a reservation through Google Maps. The ambiance was cozy and stylish, and the ingredients were clearly fresh. The shrimp tartare and cheesecake were outstanding. That said, we went on a Tuesday night around 9:30 PM and many dishes were already sold out. The service was a bit slow, and the receptionist who greeted us didn’t seem very welcoming, which slightly affected the experience. Also the prices are bit high , 50-60 euro per person

As a huge fan and regular of Fismuler in Madrid, I was thrilled to visit their Barcelona location, and it did not disappoint. I can confidently say it has nothing to envy its Madrid counterpart. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. The undisputed star of the menu is their Escalope. It's not just a dish, it's an experience, watching the waiter prepare it right at your table with fresh egg, fragrant truffle, and onions. My one tip would be to make sure you share it between two people! The portion is very generous and is perhaps a bit too big for just one person. An absolutely fantastic dining experience that lives up to the Fismuler name. Highly recommended!

We were drawn to this restaurant by the beautiful photos we saw on social media, and I’ll admit, the food does look great in pictures. But in reality, the taste didn’t quite live up to the visuals. From both my and my friend’s perspective, the dishes were overly salty, and the heavy use of salt masked the natural freshness of the ingredients. We were also quite disappointed by the service. One of the dishes we ordered was served incorrectly, and when we pointed it out, the server insisted it was our mistake. She claimed she had marked our order on the menu with a pen, but that wasn’t true, she took our order verbally and removed the menu without writing anything. It seemed she may have added those marks afterward, which felt dishonest and unprofessional. We decided not to argue further, as she was an older woman, but the attitude was upsetting and showed a lack of integrity. While the food looked beautiful, the flavors, service, and overall experience didn’t match the restaurant’s reputation. On top of that, the meal was very expensive compared to other places we tried in Barcelona. We spent about €70 per person for lunch with just four dishes, and neither the food nor the service was worth the price. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Made a reservation on the day of (Monday). Got a table for 5 at 7pm. It was quite busy so service was slow and food took a while to come out. They served one dish at a time, which worked since our table was so small. Wine selection was fantastic. Loved the Spanish red wines. Fav dishes: red creamy rice, duck corn Gorgonzola cheesecake was delicious and similar to Joncake. There’s one server who speaks Mandarin/Cantonese which is was surprising and cool to hear. Recommend this place for a date night or special occasion since it is expensive. Interesting flavour combos and some standout dishes so I’d come back next time I visit to try more from their rotating menu. Better to come in a group so you can try more dishes. I visited on Oct 6, 2025. Surprised to see so many low ratings recently. Friends both local and regular visitors recommended this place. Maybe there’s been a change in staff?

We visited Fismuler for dinner on a friend’s recommendation and were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is relaxed but elegant, and every dish was beautifully prepared. Highlights include the San Roman escalope and the Tiramisu. We look forward to returning soon!

Dining at Fismuler Barcelona was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself has a warm, modern vibe with beautiful natural light, a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, and a menu that celebrates fresh, seasonal Mediterranean ingredients. We tried several dishes and were impressed by the creativity and balance in every plate. The San Román escalope was a highlight — crispy, tender, and topped with a rich egg and truffle mix that brought everything together beautifully. The cheesecake is also a must-try: light, creamy, and probably one of the best we've had in Barcelona. But what really elevated the whole experience was the service — especially Maria. She was not only friendly and attentive but also gave us some great tips on what to order, how dishes were prepared, and how best to share plates. Her warm smile and genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcome and added a personal touch that stood out. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for refined yet relaxed dining in the heart of Barcelona.

Fine dining restaurant
Lasarte, nestled within the elegant Condes de Barcelona Hotel, is a culinary gem that showcases the artistry of renowned Basque chef Martin Berasategui. Since its inception in 2006, this sophisticated restaurant has captivated food enthusiasts with its innovative tasting menus and exquisite wine pairings. Under the expert guidance of Chef de Cuisine Paolo Casagrande, Lasarte has evolved into a must-visit destination for those seeking an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
Anyone giving this place less than five stars has forgotten what it means to go to places like this. The service was immaculate. The food was an experience with every bite. Could’ve been a good day for the restaurant or a bad one and I still would’ve had my mind blown. To say otherwise is pompous. Only critique would be to confirm the cost of certain add-ons like water and coffee.

A 5+ star experience lunch with amazing food, some great wine and incredible service from our server Samir and the Sommelier.  We had the 10 course Menu Degustacion … with appetizers and petit-fours it was more like 14 courses.  Along with some decaf coffee's it stretched out over sublime 3+ hours. Samir's professional yet approachable manner enhanced our experience significantly.  Our favorite dishes were the hamachi and oysters with cucumber, the prawns and barnacles with pineapple emulsion, and the marinated venison was the best I've ever had - which I told the chef when he visited our table at the end of our meal. Just brilliant.

Lasarte offers a beautifully polished dining experience, with flawless and attentive service that truly enhances the meal. I have to highlight the breads served, which was genuinely one of the best I've ever had—such a delightful surprise! It's a bit ironic that, despite the exquisite tasting menu showcasing premium ingredients and refined techniques, my standout moment was the humble bread. While I recognize the skill and artistry in the dishes, I found myself hoping for a more memorable and unique experience that would leave a lasting impression, especially given the restaurant's three Michelin stars. Overall, it was a lovely evening, but I left wishing for that extra spark that would make for a memorable and an unique 3 Michelin star meal.
Darren — Google review
After ticking off several of Spain’s Michelin three-stars, I made my way to Lasarte, a restaurant serving refined Italian-leaning cuisine. The service was excellent — the head chef even greeted guests personally at the entrance before service began. The dishes were solid overall, but the true standout was their jamón brioche. I could easily have eaten it nonstop. Canapé ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The tempura was hot and crispy, though quite oily. The cream had a pleasant tang with a bit of bean-like crunch. Inside the crisp shell was a jammy egg, incredibly soft, complemented by the saltiness of the caviar. The second bite had extremely high acidity — almost too sharp — though pairing it with the kimchi at the bottom helped a little. Appetizers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fresh fish with crispy elements and a hint of citrus. The beef tartare was fragrant but fairly average. Their signature foie gras had a sweet caramel shell; the sweetness and fruit notes kept the foie from being too heavy. The fish in the center carried a gentle smokiness. Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Butter presented like a rainbow, and the jamón brioche was wonderfully aromatic — soft, savoury, and easily one of the best breads I’ve ever had. Mushroom Curd ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The artichoke was mild, but the combination of bouncy mushroom and razor clam textures was enjoyable. The mushroom flavour stood out beautifully. Fennel ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Savory, milky notes with a light touch of fennel aroma. Squid Tartare ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crisp, springy, slightly sticky squid, lifted by the sweet-tart apple sauce — excellent balance. A5 Wagyu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional beef with luscious fat. The scallops were fresh, though the quality of the uni felt a bit average. Duo of Carabineros ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Firm, sweet, savoury shrimp with concentrated flavour. Crustaceans Ravioli ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lobster and mushrooms were crisp and bouncy; the cheese on the ravioli was subtle and melded well with the seafood filling — rich and full of flavour. Roasted Besugo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crispy skin and tender sea bream flesh. Venison Loin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good texture, no gaminess. The doneness could be even more precise. Slightly sweet sauce with a gently sour finish. Pistachio ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yogurt with pistachio — a bit too heavy to follow a sequence of main courses. Baba Spheres ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bright, citrusy, and refreshing — light and elegant. Petit Four ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Raspberry piece was sweet-tart but slightly too sugary. Tiramisu had nice coffee and cream notes. The chocolate was crisp and well-balanced. Total: €371 Overall rating: 8/10

This is a completely honest and valid review, not an exaggeration, I promise. TL;DR based solely on the food for those too impatient to read the whole story- the food is "good" but not great whatsoever. Three Michelin stars be darned, a large number of dishes completely missed in a big way. And for the outrageous price tag, it is AT BEST a 2.5 or 3 out of 5 stars. So why am I giving it 1 out of 5 stars? My wife became violently ill after the meal, likely from food poisoning. The restaurant refused to even respond to my attempts to contact them. Introduction: bad first impression, so the place doesn't open until after 8pm...but our reservation was for 8:00 so we arrived 10 minutes early, naturally, and waited almost 30 minutes to be seen and seated. Drinks: we are not much for alcohol. My wife ordered a mocktail which was essentially apple juice mixed with 2 or 3 other elements that were completely lost and indistinguishable behind the apple juice base. That didn't stop them for charging us €18 for it. I asked for a beer menu, but the waiter insisted he recommend me a beer based on my preferences. I said I like German and Belgian style wheat beers. He recommended a pilsner...and it becomes apparent he doesn't actually know anything about beer, so I politely declined and ask for a local Spanish Lager instead. It was just okay. I wish I actually got to see a full beer menu. Appetizer: we ordered the tasting menu. The first bites and appetizers are mostly pretty good! The mushrooms and clams appetizer was tasty. The fennel was interesting, not bad but nothing special. The shrimp tartare tasted like almost nothing, which is honestly fine with me given that it was raw shrimp. The steak tartare also tasted like nothing, which was a shame because I love steak tartare. Bread: I hated the bread service here. They have 6 different types of bread, 5 types of butter, and a house made olive oil. All that is great. The main problem is they portion the bread out for you 1 to 2 pieces at a time between courses. You never get a chance to try a type of bread more than once, and if you get a type that you don't like then you're just sort of pressured to eat it anyway. Why does the customer not have the liberty to get all the bread at the table and once to taste and portion themselves their favorites? I experienced far better bread services at 1 and 2 Michelin star restaurants in the past. First courses: the courses here really struggled to land for me. The sea cucumber and octopus were alright but nothing special (there is a theme here). The "pineapple 5 ways" dish was utter slop: it was a contrast of texture and temperature preparations of pineapple that confused and annoyed the palate as opposed to tantalizing it. The scallops were fine but the mucousy base textures in the sauce surrounding it were offputting, to say the least. The ravioli was the best of the middle courses, it was al dente and delicious, and the foam around it gave it a nice textural contrast. Main course: the biggest miss of the night had to be the pork trotters. When your menu only has 2 main "meat" dishes and one of them is a piece of pork that is 90% fat and collagen, then it feels like a cheap experience. I like fatty meat as much as the next guy, but this "meat" ate like a foreign delicacy that locals would enjoy, not a main dish at a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Horrifyingly bad dish. The venison, in contrast, was absolutely delicious. Best venison I've ever had. Dessert: my favorite dish of the night might have been the white chocolate and pistachio dessert. It was amazing and unique. The second dessert was called "baba spheres" and that was pure nonsense. The spheres were tasteless, not sweet, not herbaceous, not bitter. Nothing. The petit fours were also just okay. Verdict: I've had better experiences at 1 Michelin star, 2 Michelin star, and fine dining restaurant without any stars across both Europe and the world. This was my first 3 Michelin star experience and will probably be my last. To pay a grand total of $875 USD for two people for

This restaurant completely ruined my trip in Barcelona. After dining here, for three consecutive days, I suffered severe diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. It likely came from either the undercooked barnacle or the rare Corzo meat. Instead of showing any concern, the staff denied responsibility and refused even basic reimbursement. For a 3-star Michelin restaurant, the arrogance and indifference were shocking. The place may look nice, but the people behind it showed no care for their guests.

Pizza restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant districts of Born, Barceloneta, and Poblesec, NAP Antic is a haven for pizza lovers seeking an authentic Neapolitan experience. This pizzeria takes pride in crafting its dough by hand and allowing it to ferment for 24 hours, ensuring a perfect balance of flavor and texture. Each pizza measures about 35cm with a delightful crust that’s just the right thickness.
Simple local gem servicing the area. You will walk by it if you didnt know it was there. One wood oven with a few staff. Real Italian style pizza worth the visit. We had a few different pies and they all were great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Everything wash fresh. Not a tourist trap. The dough and sauce are as if you went to Italy. You won't be disappointed.
Erez Z — Google review
NAP is a pizzeria chain, and this is the Barcelona branch. It holds AVPN certification, ensuring some authenticity. Their pizzas resemble those from the famously uncertified Da Michele, with slightly oversized doughs, measuring around 35cm (which is on the larger end). Small differences in diameter are significant, as the area increases with the square of the diameter—so a 35cm dough is roughly twice the size of a 25cm one. They bake the pizzas in a wood-fired oven, with a 485° sign displayed above, though I couldn’t spot a thermometer reading. To be honest, few pizzerias can precisely control oven temperature; most don’t even have temperature gauges except for the observant eye of the pizzaiolos. From the menu, the only ingredient with a specified geographical origin is Gran Padano cheese. The mozzarella doesn’t list its milk type, but it seems to be fior di latte (cow’s milk). There's no indication of San Marzano tomatoes either but they taste alright. The menu is somewhat limited with 14 different pizzas but nothing exotic or avangarde presumably because of the cost management limitations. The prices are very reasonable (ranges from 5.9 to 10.9 Euros at the time of writing), offering great value for the quality. While this may not be the absolute best pizza in town, the price-to-performance ratio is hard to beat.

Favourite pizza in town! I had this carbonara style pizza and it blew my mind! I expected something overwhelmingly creamy (the worst thing on a hot summer day), but then I was surprised with something delicately balanced, rich, fragrant but not to overwhelming pizza that took like less than 10min?! Nature & Parks
Park Güell is a must-visit destination in Barcelona, showcasing the genius of architect Antoni Gaudi. This verdant park features mosaic-covered buildings, grand staircases, and sculptures that are truly captivating. The park offers panoramic views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea. One of its most famous attractions is the colorful mosaic salamander, a popular spot for visitors to take selfies.
Park Güell is truly one of the highlights of Barcelona and an absolute must-see! The moment you enter, you’re surrounded by Gaudí’s magical designs colorful mosaics, flowing shapes, playful architecture, and spaces that feel like they belong in a fairytale. The panoramic views of the city and the sea are breathtaking and perfect for photos. It’s a place where nature, creativity, and architecture blend beautifully. The park is large enough to wander, relax, and enjoy the scenery at your own pace, yet every corner has something unique to admire. The Monumental Zone, mosaic benches, and the famous lizard sculpture are definite standouts. The atmosphere is peaceful, inspiring, and full of charm. Tickets are timed, so booking ahead is smart and you should be there as early as you can, because it gets crowded quickly and the morning light makes everything even more beautiful. Comfortable shoes are also helpful due to hills and walking paths. Overall, Park Güell is a wonderful experience vibrant, artistic, and unforgettable. If you’re visiting Barcelona, don’t miss it!
Fatih K — Google review
The buildings are great, but you can see them from the street, from the main entrance, so it's not worth buying a ticket. It's true that the park has other beautiful places than the well known Gaudi's buildings, but we wanted to visit it for this only reason and we left disappointed
Larisa U — Google review
If Gaudi knew his masterpieces would be turned into a tourist trap THIRSTING for money, he would be disgusted. I bought the tickets. Had an accident, couldn't attend exactly at the time that I had scheduled the tickets. They couldn't do anything. Not even get me a discount. Come on, do better. Ok, bought new tickets. The park is interesting, Gaudi never misses. Is it worth it paying 18 euros? Of course not. Stand outside the gates and you will see 95% of everything worth seeing. The workers are unprepared. There are so many nice things to see in Barcelona, if you don't have a lot of time, don't bother coming here.
Breno M — Google review
Nice place to go for a walk, because in the city there is not much of a green areas around. But be aware that there is a lot of stairs in the park. So if you are coming with a stroller, that could be a challenge for you. Also be ready for a lot of people. It was difficult to find a quiet spot around the park. You can see nice architecture and if you are lucky you can find a spot on the sun and just relax for a bit.
Tereza K — Google review
Make sure to buy your tickets online beforehand or you likely won’t get in. Entrance fee is a little steep for what it is but nevertheless, still a great Gaudi experience. The place gets overly crowded so that definitely takes away from the overall experience.
Jinbon L — Google review
We found the place amazingly innovating and also harmonically beautiful. Gaudi created a wonderous living space, full of hidden spots, making the journey delightful. I recommend booking a tour guide, as this adds to the whole experiance!

Was a very interesting place to walk around to see Gaudí genius at work. However, it can’t match up with his other masterpiece, Sagrada Família. Nothing much does. Not even close ! In my opinion but worth a walk through but beware it’s 18 Eyries each overall around and some of the inside park attractions are extra. I added some pics of the more popular spots in this park. Enjoy ! Nov 2025

AI recommended this place for us and it is perfect. people come to barcelona for Gaudi and nature and science are the biggest inspiration for him - he can only imitate so much yet the universe has way more to offer. good for kids but we enjoy it as much. the neighbourhood is very nice too if you walk from the metro station.

A very cool place. At first it took some effort to find where to buy the tickets. After that, it was a long walk among technical wonders. Since a whole school’s worth of kids was ahead of us, we couldn’t get close to many things, but it was interesting nonetheless. The terrarium was especially awesome — you could feel real tropical climate and meet its inhabitants.

It is the most unique museum I have been to. Definetly needs to be on your bucket list in Barcelona. And it is extremly cheap. 8 euro per adult, kids 7&10 yeara entered for free.

If you are looking for an extraordinary experience with your kids, this interactive museum is the best place to go. You can easily spend an entire day exploring it, perfect for a rainy day for example. The entry is free for children under 10. The museum has a lot to offer and is 100% more recommendable than the Aquarium in Barcelona, which btw is hugely overpriced and overrated.

Wow, what an amazing place, for the whole family (adults and kids will both enjoy this equally). The science experiments and exhibitions are so well thought out and explained... And so much fun! The sunken forest is one of the best displays I've ever seen in any museum. One thing to be aware of is that while there are 5 floors, the main floor is by far the biggest, the other 4 floors are more like classrooms or exhibition spaces (and the excellent planetarium) so don't feel you have to rush through the main floor because there are four more the same. Take your time on the main floor. The restaurant is fair quality, but you will pay a little more than similar quality offsite restaurants (however, I think this is to be expected). You can take a lunch break at this cafe/restaurant and re-enter the museum without a problem. We loved every second of our trip.

Architectural Buildings
Casa Batlló, a museum in Barcelona, is an extraordinary apartment block designed by architect Antoni Gaudi. The building's facade is adorned with shards of stained glass that create a mesmerizing effect, resembling the ever-changing colors of a lake. Commissioned by textile industrialist Josep Batllo, Gaudi was tasked with creating a unique home that paid homage to Catalonian patron saint Jordi.
A mesmerizing masterpiece! The façade is stunning, but the interior experience is what truly brings Gaudí’s imagination to life. The audio guide is engaging, the colors and curves feel otherworldly, and the rooftop is unforgettable. Even if you’ve seen photos before, nothing compares to seeing it in person. A must-visit in Barcelona!
Fatih K — Google review
Well-made audio guide and efficient organization at the entrance. The house is wonderful, allowing you to fully discover Gaudí’s art. The ticket is a bit expensive (€36 for the Silver route). By choosing the Silver ticket, you also get access to the terrace with its colorful chimneys. Overall, a positive visiting experience.
Sarah — Google review
I went there twice already, once by day and the other time by night and the magic just never ends. Gaudi must have had a lot of fun designing this mysterious world into a house and it amazes me how he managed to make it possible. By night, the windows and sea life details create this enchanting atmosphere throughout the visit. I cannot recommend this architectural gem enough!!
Eugénie N — Google review
From the moment you arrive, the building’s facade grabs your attention – a surreal mix of bone-like balconies, mosaic tiles, and a dragon-scale roof that looks like it belongs in a fairytale. Inside, the experience becomes even more immersive. The flowing lines, natural light wells, and attention to detail in every corner show Gaudí’s genius not just as an architect, but as an artist deeply connected to nature. The audio-guided tour is excellent, enhanced with augmented reality features that help you imagine what the rooms would have looked like when the Batlló family lived there. Don’t miss the rooftop terrace – it offers beautiful views of the city and features the famous dragon-back design that symbolizes the legend of Saint George. Tips: Book your tickets in advance – it can get crowded, especially in high season. Go for the “Be the First” or “Magic Nights” experience if you're looking for a more intimate or romantic visit. Take your time. Every room and hallway hides some small detail you’ll regret rushing past. Whether you're an architecture lover, an art enthusiast, or simply curious, Casa Batlló is a must-see. It’s not just a building – it’s an experience.
Van N — Google review
Casa Batlló absolutely blew me away — it feels like stepping into a living, breathing piece of art. Gaudí’s imagination is on full display, from the flowing, nature-inspired interiors to the colorful mosaic façade that changes with the light. The rooftop, shaped like a dragon’s spine, is just unforgettable. It’s one of those places where every detail surprises you — truly magical.
Amel P — Google review
This house cannot be properly understood without going in. During the night I find it even more magical as you can really see how light plays a most important part in it's architecture. I was awed and actually didn't even want to go at first, but all the details took my breath away. The style is different inside and outside, so even if you're not a fan of Gaudi, give yourself a chance to go in. It is 100% worth it. And there's 100% accessibility! Elevators on request but to all floors.
Bianca X — Google review
Visiting Casa Batlló was one of the highlights of my trip to Barcelona. Here you can see Gaudí’s creativity up close- the flowing shapes, colorful mosaics, his vision and talent in every detail. The house was redesigned by Antoni Gaudí in the early 1900s for the Batlló family and is a perfect example of Catalan modernism. Every detail — from the wavy staircases to the vibrant tiles — is inspired by nature. The rooftop, shaped like a dragon’s back, offers great views over Passeig de Gràcia. I booked tickets online (around €30–€35) and still waited about 20–30 minutes to get in, so I’d definitely recommend buying skip-the-line tickets or going early in the morning. Inside, the audio guide is fantastic and really helps you understand Gaudí’s vision and his use of light and ventilation in every room. It’s busy, but completely worth it. I am not big fan of this type of art or architecture however it was an unforgettable experience.
Przemyslaw K — Google review
Casa Batlló is a true testament to Antoni Gaudí's genius and creativity, showcasing his ability to blend architecture with nature and art. Located in the heart of Barcelona, this modernist masterpiece stands out with its vibrant colors, organic shapes, and intricate details that draw visitors in from the moment they arrive. One of the most striking features of Casa Batlló is its façade, adorned with a mosaic of colorful tiles that resemble the scales of a dragon, a nod to the legend of Saint George. The undulating lines and whimsical shapes give the building a fluidity that feels alive, embodying Gaudí’s philosophy of design inspired by natural forms. The balconies, resembling masks, add a playful character to the exterior, inviting admiration from passersby. Inside, the experience only gets better. The open spaces and natural light create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Gaudí’s attention to detail is evident in the custom furniture, stained glass windows, and the unique layout that encourages movement and exploration. The central atrium, with its blue gradient tiles, mimics the colors of the sea and sky, further connecting the interior with the natural world. Visiting Casa Batlló is not just about observing architecture; it’s about experiencing a piece of art that tells a story. Gaudí’s innovative use of materials and structural techniques pushes the boundaries of conventional design, making Casa Batlló a must-see for anyone interested in architecture, art, or culture. It’s a celebration of creativity that continues to inspire and captivate all who enter.

Cafe
Faborit Casa Amatller Barcelona is a unique exception to the usual avoidance of big chain restaurants when exploring Barcelona. Located inside the stunning Casa Amatller on Passeig de Gracia, this café occupies the former kitchens of the mansion and retains many original features. Visitors can also purchase exclusive chocolates only available in Barcelona at the entrance, with an opportunity to sample before buying.
This place under sells their amazing chocolate!!! The thick hot sipping chocolate is the best we found in Barcelona or Valencia. it is curious to me that it does not have any more prominent position in their marketing because it is what makes this place unique and worth coming to. Otherwise it’s just a Starbucks in a pretty building. If you’re going to visit Casa Batlo right next-door you definitely need to take a break right here In theory, you can make this chocolate at home by buying some of the bars in milk. We bought some and have yet to try it.

Faborit is a nice cafe in Casa Amatller. The chocolate was very good with bread given. I also ordered a Cacao latte it was very good and there was a big size. Tasty and worth it. I had a free drink coupon that was scanned but it did not make the drink free when I asked about it I was brushed off. Did not receive a free drink. Besides this I would visit again.

A historic gem for authentic Barcelona chocolate. Casa Amatler houses what is undoubtedly Barcelona's finest destination for traditional hot chocolate. This exceptional chocolaterie occupies the ground floor of the historic Amatler family residence, whose legacy as Spanish chocolate producers adds profound authenticity to the experience. Located in what was once the servants' kitchen, Faborit chocolate shop and bar transforms this atmospheric space into a portal to the past. The setting perfectly complements their masterfully crafted hot chocolate, prepared using time-honored traditional methods that honor the building's chocolate-making heritage. After exploring the magnificent Casa Amatler, descending to this intimate chocolaterie feels like discovering a delicious secret. The unique ambiance, steeped in history and chocolate tradition, creates an unforgettable experience that satisfies both palate and soul. Essential visit for anyone seeking Barcelona's most authentic chocolate experience in its most fitting setting.

Health food restaurant
Restaurant Xavier Pellicer is a remarkable dining establishment located in the heart of Barcelona, just a short distance from Casa Mila. The rustic eatery features exposed-stone walls and an open kitchen where inventive Spanish fare is crafted. Renowned Michelin-star chef Xavier Pellicer takes pride in curating each dish as a work of art, focusing on not only the flavors but also the presentation.
I've been wanting to have dinner at this restaurant for years and am so happy I finally did. The food was incredible, and the fact that you can choose a vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore menu makes it so easy to start with. The philosophy and story behind the restaurant are a true inspiration, and it shows in the atmosphere of the place. Featuring a completely open kitchen, you can see how everything is prepared, and yet you don't hear a thing, even on a busy evening. The service was flawless and I got the impression people enjoy working there. My favourite dish was probably the artichoke with an egg and a hazelnut sauce to die for - apart from the dessert of course. 100% recommended if you love healthy food and fine dining.
Franziska E — Google review
What a nice experience. For an acceptable price you can enjoy a really great cuisine with great ingredients and novelty. We tried the omnivore menu but it is a perfect restaurant if you are vegan or vegetarian as well. The place is really entertaining with really nice staff, and the bathroom is quiet an experience as well. I would recommend sitting at the bar to have a view on the kitchen and discuss with the chef.
Sacha W — Google review
We chose the 8 course tasting and it was simply perfection. Highlights for me was the tomato dish as well as the dessert. Everything else was incredible, but these two things really stood out. Was shocked at how cheap the bill was too lol. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Dimitri K — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely deserving of its Michelin star. I was lucky enough to dine while the chef was in-house, and the authenticity of the flavors truly stood out. The staff were incredibly attentive, explaining each dish in detail, and the food was nothing short of exceptional. A memorable culinary experience from start to finish.
Harsh R — Google review
I reserved the restaurant for our wedding lunch, a gathering of seven people. The restaurant recommended utilizing a private area named el menjador, which we agreed to. Everything was absolutely wonderful! The food was delightful, the staff's service was exceptional, and the chefs were putting the finishing touches on the dishes in a charming, small open kitchen right before our eyes. We could not have asked for a more perfect experience for this special day. Thanks everyone!!
Lorenzo C — Google review
I've been vegan for over 22 years and have eaten at many restaurants around the world. Unfortunately, we were not wowed by the tastes of the vegan 9-course menu. I enjoyed the mushroom dishes and the cucumber soup, but the heirloom tomatoes weren't ripe and the zucchini was raw with just some sauce in the blossom. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't that good in flavor. We ate at many restaurants on our trip and were wowed at several. But unfortunately not here. We were expecting to be amazed and find brand new flavors and textures since it is a Michelin star and at a higher price point. The staff was wonderful but unfortunately, just before our dessert they wiped our table clean with an extremely smelly rag of mildew. It was difficult to enjoy our dessert after that. My boyfriend doesn't have a strong sense of smell but the mildew was so strong that even he was offended by the smell. On top of that, we were out of water for a very long time. My boyfriend had to ask if we could get more water and the waiter agreed but never brought it. After some time, another waiter brought us water after passing our table a few times.

If you're looking for a truly special dining experience, Xavier Pellicer is the place to go. The vegetarian menu is full of surprises, with dishes that feel fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. They really know how to take organic vegetables and turn them into something extraordinary—every bite tastes like it’s cooked to perfection. The wine list is just as impressive, with a fantastic selection that pairs beautifully with the food. You can tell they’ve put a lot of thought into every detail. It’s not overly fancy or pretentious—just amazing flavors, great atmosphere, and a real focus on quality. A must-visit spot, even if you’re not usually into vegetarian food!
Guy G — Google review
We are grateful that friends from Spain made our luncheon arrangements in advance and joined us for this very special experience. A true dining experience of a lifetime in the heart of Barcelona. Chef Xavier and his team produced seamless courses of freshly prepared dishes and made accommodations to the menu that allowed us to combine 7 vegan courses with one fish dish from the 8 course menu (regular 8 course options include separate vegan, vegetarian and omnivore menus). I met with Xavier and the “maestro de” after lunch and learned more about their passion for fresh, healthy ingredients, harmonious pairings and impeccable service from the "amuse-bouche" to a one of a kind vegan dessert offering and “mignardise”.

Restaurant
Toma Ya Street Food is a casual eatery in Barcelona that offers Peruvian bites with an Asian twist, such as ceviche and dishes. The warm and familiar atmosphere makes it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. This place is known for its memorable flavors, especially the ceviche, which many consider to be the best they've ever had.
The ceviche was so fresh and while the bowl wasn’t big it was really tasty and fulfilling. The pulled pork tacos were excellent. They weren’t light on the meat either which was great the potatoes with it or perfectly crispy and soft on the inside. I tried two different beers, the Turia I enjoyed more, but they were both nice on a hotter January day. My server was really friendly even when it was close to their afternoon closing time and tolerated my attempt at ordering in Spanish. I really enjoyed my experience here. I hope more people have a chance tosee it like I did A+.

Pulled pork acevichado tacos is one of the best things I've tried in a long time. Both deserts also deserve an award because they are crazy. As a Peruvian this place blew my mind. The ceviche is also quite good and diferrent. If I could give a Michelin star I would give this place one. Hidden gem for sure.
Alvaro — Google review
Super nice atmosphere, super kind waitress that helped us order. The food was amazing but I wish the portions would be a little bigger. Don’t be too hungry ;) Order more beer instead, the IPAs are great.
Sebastian S — Google review
Hard to define. It doesn't look like the typical cute little place in Gràcia, even though it is small. It has more of a street food vibe. The portions are small to medium. The flavours are good—not too spectacular for a place with Latin American cuisine—but the spice is definitely there. As a crybaby when it comes to spicy food, I didn't have a bad time here. The arroz chaufa is good, the ceviche is good, and the totopos are good. The tacos, however, were kind of wet and fell apart all over the plate. The desserts left me quite disappointed—like a pisco sour gone wrong.
Marlene G — Google review
Some of the best tacos and potatoes I’ve ever had. Would 100% recommend. My only complaint is that they don’t offer takeaway as I would have loved to take another serve home for dinner!

Found this special little Peruvian restaurant on Google. Got there and reservation is a must but we were early so we were able to be seated. The best ceviche I've ever had! The taco pulled pork and veal bowl were both delicious!

A great option in Gracia. The expression Street Food can be deceiving in this case as there are some really nice seat-and-enjoy dishes. Including the one we tried Arroz Chaufa which is delicious. We also had the pulled pork sandwich; it was ok. It seems the prices have been scaling up but its still in range. Overall is a really good experience. Recommended.

Blavis is a charming and intimate gastrobar in Barcelona, offering a cozy spot for dinner with its unpretentious atmosphere. The restaurant serves creative tapas dishes influenced by Italian and Japanese flavors, making it a hidden gem in the city. With fresh, market-sourced ingredients, the menu includes Spanish and Mediterranean seasonal cuisine along with excellent wines. Visitors praise the personal and friendly service at this establishment.
Hidden Gem in Barcelona Blavis is truly a one-of-a-kind restaurant! With only four tables, it offers an intimate and personal dining experience unlike anywhere else. The two chefs not only prepare the food but also serve it with passion, explaining every dish in detail. Their warmth and enthusiasm made our visit extra special. The carpaccio de berenjena was so delicious that we ordered it twice—it was packed with flavor and perfectly executed. The ceviche de langostino was incredibly fresh and citrusy, an absolute standout. The artichokes were also fantastic. The only dish we wouldn’t reorder was the Kimchi wings, but everything else more than made up for it. And then there was dessert—the cheesecake was hands down the best I’ve ever had! Creamy, rich, and absolutely perfect. If you’re in Barcelona, book well in advance because this place is small and fills up quickly. It’s worth the wait for an unforgettable dining experience!

This was the highlight of our eating ventures in Barcelona. The kindness of the staff and the care they took with both food and service were exceptional. This restaurant is tiny and a jewel. You will receive the full attention of the owner and assistant. We chose to have them select our meal, which was delightful. Our favorite was the pork tenderloin followed closely by the eggplant and delicious lemon pie. Highly recommend!

A little off the beaten path but worth the effort. Food was delicious. There are only 2 guys working the restaurant and they were incredibly nice and thoughtful. Lovely bistrot with delicious fusion tapas, loved everything from the concept to the warm service. We had a great moment.

The service and ingredients are both excellent. We really enjoyed the salmon tataki and the eggplant carpaccio. The croquettes were very rich, a little too liquid on the inside, and not warm enough. The patatas bravas were fine - nothing to write home about. The restaurant is very small and compact, which can feel very intimate if you’re the only party in there.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Mercat de la Boqueria. Visitors can explore the maze-like market and indulge in fresh fruit, seafood, meats, and tapas treats. The vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings make it a must-see destination for food lovers and an integral part of Barcelona's market culture.
Very popular and busy market. Here you find great quality of meats, seafood, fruits and vegetable. There are plenty of food stalls to choose from. Quality here is top notch but equally the prices are fairly high for most products. The ready to eat fruits are absolutely delicious as well as the Iberico ham and fresh seafood. Definitely give the paella here a try as well. At the backside of the market is a small square where you can find few spots to sit and enjoy your food.

Such a fun and lively market! You can find all kinds of food here fresh fruit, juices, snacks, and tapas. I tried the strawberries with Nutella which is quite safe and they were delicious! The caramelized peanuts were also amazing. I wouldn’t really recommend the empanadas though they tasted a bit old. But overall, it’s a great place to wander around and you’ll definitely find something tasty to try!

Stopped by the Mercado and there were so many amazing options it was hard to choose where to eat. We ended up at this spot, and overall it was really good — great vibe, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. The only miss for me was the patatas bravas — not my favorite — but everything else hit the spot. Perfect place to grab a bite while exploring the market!

Overall 2.7/10 honestly VERY overwhelming with a lot of people talking to you at the same time to buy exactly the same thing at the same price everywhere. Most of the stands don’t have places to seat (there’s little to no space inside the market) and there’s basically no place to sit around it so we had to walk hungry until we found benches to sit and eat. The fried burritos were VERY very doughy and this other pastry with chicken and potatoes inside tasted “old” so honestly the only thing I’d recommend buying there would be the juices. 2,50€ p/ cup (or 5 for a bottle), they have a LOT of options and (at least) the mango/ strawberry & mango are actually incredibly delicious and taste fresh so 10/10 for the drinks!

Mercat de la Boqueria is an absolute must-visit if you’re in Barcelona! The market is so vibrant, colorful, and full of kind vendors. There were so many fresh fruits and juices to choose from - everything was delicious!!! There’s everything you can think of from seafood, meats, spices, and all kinds of local treats, every stand offers something unique and delicious. I would highly recommend visiting the market during your Barcelona visit!
Leydjenne C — Google review
An interesting market with ready made seafood, tacos, tapas, paella, juices, fresh fruits, nuts and dried fruits. Also have raw meats and beef. Many people are trying food and drinks enjoying the products. Most of the nuts and dried fruits stalls offer samples when you walked by. Despite the vibrant color and varieties, we are skeptical to try. Juices and dried fruits color are so vibrant suggesting food colouring might be used. Given the summer temperature the cooked food are all pre-packed and placed in room temperature counter, not really feel very hygienic for bacterial growth. Worth a visit however we did not buy anything from there.

The Cathedral of Barcelona, also known as the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia or La Seu Cathedral, is an impressive Gothic structure located in the Gothic Quarter. It features pointed archways, ribbed vaults, and gargoyles on the roof. The cathedral's 14th-century cloister is home to 13 geese symbolizing the years of Saint Eulalia's life.
We hadn't planned to visit the cathedral but as there as no queue we bought a ticket and went in and are we glad we did! The roof top view was amazing. The cathedral itself is impressive too but the rooftop view stole the show. Would recommend a visit

If you are visiting Barcelona, this is definitely a must! The outside of the Sagrada Família is huge and very detailed. You can take some really great pictures and videos if you find the right angles. We were part of a private tour with only 9 people including us, and our tour guide did a wonderful job explaining the history and process behind building the cathedral, along with the symbolism of certain parts of the building. I heavily recommend you also pay for a tour as well, because it was interesting learning about the cathedral. The inside of the cathedral was even more jaw-dropping than the outside, as the colored window panes casted beautiful rainbow all around the interior. The architecture and structure of the cathedral was so complex and impressive and I definitely recommend you take time to just look around at your surroundings and see everything for yourself. There is also a museum and a gift shop you can visit at the end, and I bought two pencils, a mini replica of a colored window pane, and a pin to add to my back pack. You should definitely come here if you want to be in awe!

Inside the church is spectacular and the audio guide is one of the best we have had. You can get access to the terrace which has a great view of the city. The architecture and history is incredibly interesting and I loved the geese. I would highly recommended visiting.

The Barcelona Cathedral is undeniably beautiful grand Gothic architecture, soaring ceilings, peaceful cloisters, and a charming square in front where you can sit and take in the atmosphere. It’s well-preserved, historically rich, and offers a calm break from the busy streets of the Gothic Quarter. Walking around inside gives you a real sense of old Barcelona and its religious heritage. However, rating it feels tricky. In almost any other city, this would be a top attraction. But in Barcelona—where Gaudí’s masterpieces like Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and Park Güell steal the spotlight it doesn’t have the same “wow” factor. If those didn’t exist, the cathedral would feel much more impressive and memorable. Still, it’s worth a visit, especially if you’re already exploring the historic center. Go early or later in the day for a quieter experience, admire the exterior, wander through the cloister, and enjoy the surrounding neighborhood. A solid and meaningful stop just keep expectations realistic if you’ve already seen the big Gaudí icons.

Barcelona Cathedral is one of the most impressive examples of Gothic architecture and a magnificent structure located in the city's historic center. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, the cathedral stands out for both its fine stonework on its exterior and its elegant towers. Its dedication to Santa Eulàlia gives the structure its special religious and historical significance. The elaborate carvings on the facade and the magnificence of the towers, in particular, provide stunning shots for photography enthusiasts. Its historical character and architectural beauty make it a must-see in Barcelona..

The cathedral is a stunning piece of Architecture. At the time of this review loads of work has been completed but it is quite clear they arent close to completing it. Be prepared for the large masses of people as due to construction fences and certain pathways being closed its very much shoulder to shoulder.

The Barcelona Cathedral is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed at the Lamaro Hotel right across the courtyard and had an amazing view of it from our room—beautiful day and night. Walking around the area was just as memorable: the cobblestone streets, the historic bridge, and the entire Gothic Quarter setting make the cathedral feel even more special. A must-see landmark that captures the heart of Barcelona.

With 14 tanks representing various global climatic zones, visitors can explore Mediterranean marine life and witness captivating creatures such as moray eels, sand tiger sharks, and Atlantic wreckfish. The Starfish Underwater Aquarium in Barcelona is a truly magical experience for anyone who loves marine life. Located in Port Vell, it offers an incredible journey beneath the sea, where visitors can admire a wide variety of sea creatures — from colorful tropical fish and elegant rays to the fascinating starfish that give the aquarium its special charm. One of the highlights is the large underwater tunnel, which lets you walk through the ocean surrounded by sharks, sea turtles, and hundreds of other fish. Overall, it’s a must-visit attraction in Barcelona — educational, relaxing, and unforgettable 😍😍✨

As we had read online, it was an aquarium where you would not have walked for too long. Despite that, we had a great time and enjoyed all the fish we saw. As adults and the kind of person of watch and move on, you would be done very quick. If you are someone who likes to watch a little longer, you will certainly last longer. We are the type of people who watch calm and keep going, so we enjoyed ourselves there for about 45 minutes to an hour. I definitely recommend stopping by if you like watching fish. You can also take pictures. We went on a weekday and then it is relatively quiet, if there aren't any holidays. This also allowed us to watch quietly and were not constantly "disturbed" by people who also wanted to look at the same place at the same time. At first we also wanted to eat something there, but we soon found out that it is relatively expensive to eat there so we decided to look for it somewhere else.

Had an amazing time! It’s a bit smaller than I expected but the tanks were clean and had a lot of beautiful and amazing looking animals too. I did buy tickets online, it was definitely something fun to do with children or on a slow afternoon or even a date night out. Even stopped and got a stuffed animal to remember the time from.
Lena B — Google review
This was honestly such a beautiful and surreal experience. There were many exotic animals that I’ve never seen or heard of before and it was super cool getting to learn about them! There were two aquatic tunnels and I was mesmerized by the sea life that surrounded me, such as stingrays and sharks, and other giant creatures. There is also a koi fish feeding stations that you all NEED to try out. You have to pay 4 euros to get a bottle of (well, whatever they eat idk) but it’s worth it!!! It was such a fun experience and it was so cute to see the koi fish enjoy their meal. My cafe experience was a bit disappointing because I ordered an iced matcha latte but it was so diluted you could barely taste the matcha…so don’t waste your money getting that :/ Anyway, the shop they had at the end had great variety in souvenirs and I got a jelly fish plushie and a key chain!!! I recommend going here, whether you’re a kid or an adult, this aquarium has something for all to see! 🐠🌊🐬🦀

Excellent aquarium. I especially loved the conveyor belt rides through the aquarium tank tunnels. It was really nice to be able to stand front row and just watch fish, sharks, rays, and eels swim by without feeling like you were in anyone's way.

Best Aquarium in the World Probably one of the best Aquarium in the world. My kids love this place and so do I. It is first a very grand Aquarium in comparison to other, just by its sheer size. Then they took seriously the educational side of things. So everywhere you have lots of information, etc. This is a must do in Barcelona!

The Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar, a stunning 14th-century Gothic church in Barcelona, is a testament to the city's medieval prosperity. Its soaring columns and grand stained glass windows are awe-inspiring. The basilica's impressive rise from Passeig del Born showcases its Gothic architecture with towers, buttresses, elaborate portals, and a magnificent rose window. Constructed in just 54 years - an exceptional feat for the time - it exudes harmony and stylistic consistency.
Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar is absolutely breathtaking. The Gothic architecture, high ceilings, and the peaceful atmosphere inside create a truly magical experience. Walking through this basilica feels like stepping back in time—full of history, beauty, and spiritual calm. It’s a place that touches your heart and leaves you in awe. Definitely one of the most memorable highlights of Barcelona

If you're in Barcelona, you absolutely have to check out the Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar! This stunning church, built back in the 14th century, showcases the beautiful Catalan Gothic style. The tall columns and lovely stained-glass windows create such a peaceful and awe-inspiring vibe. If you're planning a visit, keep in mind that the entrance fee varies based on what you want to see. A basic visit to explore the temple, gallery, and crypt will cost you €5. If you're up for some incredible views, you can access the towers and the roof terrace for an extra €10, or join a guided tour that includes both for €15—that full ticket comes with rooftop access! While we decided to admire it from the outside (not uncommon since there’s a ticket fee), we were delighted by how charming the area around the church is. It’s tucked away in a nice, shaded corner, perfect for a little respite from the heat. Plus, you can enjoy a lovely stroll around the pretty surroundings!

It is a stunning example of Catalan Gothic architecture. Built between 1329 and 1383, it was financed and constructed by local merchants, sailors, and artisans, symbolizing the strength of the city’s maritime community. Unlike many Gothic cathedrals, its design is simple yet harmonious, with soaring columns, spacious interiors, and elegant stained-glass windows that fill the church with soft light. The basilica’s pure proportions and minimal ornamentation highlight the craftsmanship and unity of its builders. Santa Maria del Mar is one of Barcelona’s most beloved landmarks, admired for its spiritual serenity and the fact it was built by the people fund and labor.

The cathedral is very beautiful and has amazing architecture inside and outside. The building looks historic and detailed, and the atmosphere inside is peaceful. However, the lighting inside was a bit low, so it was harder to see some details clearly and take good photos. Outside, the area was lively and the Christmas decorations made it look even nicer. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit, just wish the lighting was a bit brighter inside.

A beautiful and peaceful church in the Gothic Quarter. ⛪️ The design is simple but really impressive. 🏰 You can feel the history when you walk inside. A great place to visit! ✨

Santa Maria del Mar is a special and very peaceful church. From the moment you step inside, the soaring ceilings and elegant Gothic arches fill you with awe. The light filtering through the colorful stained glass casts a serene glow over the stone floors, creating a perfect space to pause and reflect. The intricate sculptures and statues of saints are both beautiful and inspiring, telling stories of faith and devotion across the centuries. Built in the 14th century by the people of Barcelona’s Ribera district, this church was funded and constructed by ordinary citizens, not royalty or nobles. Walking through its nave, you can feel the dedication and pride of the community that raised it, stone by stone. A fire destroyed the Baroque decorations, leaving the interior simple and uncluttered. This simplicity is part of its charm, allowing both the architecture and modern art or sculpture to be fully appreciated. This is a place to slow down, sit quietly, and let the noise of Barcelona fade away. The combination of ancient craftsmanship, open space, and the quiet reverence of the few visitors gives the church a sense of deep peacefulness. Take your time to admire the carvings, the interplay of shadow and sunlight, and the sense of openness that gives this immense building a sense of sanctuary. I could have stayed for hours, letting the space recharge my energy and calm my mind. It is a hidden gem in Barcelona, offering both history and peace to anyone who steps inside.

This cathedral took my breath away. It honestly is not the fanciest or the most elaborate in the area, but learning the story of how this church came to be was incredibly interesting. This is the church of the people, built by local peasants that were no longer welcome in the Cathedral de Barcelona. It took 60 years to construct. Over the front doors there are peasants carrying the blocks and stones which the cathedral is built from. These stones were quarried from Montjuic. Not having much money or equipment the peasants brought the bricks mostly on their back. The labour and love that went into this building meant a lot to me. It is an incredibly gloomy and dark cathedral, very different to the more elaborate cathedrals in and around Barcelona. We sat and contemplated this church and took it all in. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. The entrance is 5€ but if you go after 6pm it is free. If you are on a tight budget.

Really a must see if in Barcelona, the sagrada familia takes all the fame and sure from the exerior this isn't as impressive, but from the interior it definitely holds it's own and in my opinion I even prefer it to the sagrada familia, if this was in any other city other than Barcelona it would be more world renowned.

Nestled at the southern tip of La Rambla in Barcelona, the Columbus Monument, or Monument a Colom, is an impressive tribute to Christopher Columbus and his historic journey to the Americas. Erected in 1888 for the Universal Exposition, this ornate Corinthian column reaches a height of 60 meters (197 feet) and features a striking bronze statue of Columbus himself, gesturing towards the sea as if guiding future explorers.
Review of the Columbus Monument (Barcelona, Spain) Overview: Standing proudly at the lower end of La Rambla, where the famous boulevard meets the sea, the Columbus Monument (Monument a Colom) is one of Barcelona’s most recognizable landmarks. Erected for the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition, this 60-meter (197-foot) tall tribute to Christopher Columbus points toward the New World—though with some historical irony, as he actually sailed from southern Spain, not Barcelona. Highlights & Things to Do: ✅ Statue & Column – The bronze statue of Columbus stands atop a towering Corinthian column, surrounded by intricate reliefs depicting his voyages. ✅ Viewing Platform – A small elevator inside the column takes visitors up to a 360° observation deck with stunning views of the harbor, La Rambla, and Montjuïc. ✅ Historical Significance – The monument symbolizes Spain’s Age of Exploration, though modern perspectives on Columbus’ legacy add complexity. ✅ Port Vell Gateway – The monument marks the entrance to Barcelona’s waterfront, making it a natural stop before exploring Port Vell, Maremagnum, or Barceloneta Beach. Verdict: ⭐ 4.0/5 – The Columbus Monument is worth a quick visit for the views and historical significance, though it’s more of a brief stop than a major attraction. Tips: Visit early in the day to avoid crowds. Combine it with a stroll along Port Vell or a seafood lunch in Barceloneta. If short on time, admiring it from the outside is enough.

As with all things in Barcelona, beautiful architecture and detail in the buildings and monument. This is by the sea front at the harbour. We didn't go up the monument as we were heading out on a boat trip around the coastline and harbour, which was only a few yards away. There are lots of beautiful buildings in the area too.

The Christopher Columbus Monument in Barcelona is a grand memorial located at the lower end of La Rambla, overlooking the old harbor. It was built in 1888 for the World Exhibition to honor Columbus, who is believed to have presented the results of his first voyage to the Americas to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand in Barcelona. Visitors can ascend to the top of the column via an internal elevator to enjoy panoramic views of the city and the harbor. • Location: Situated at Portal de la Pau Square, where La Rambla meets Passeig de Colom. • Purpose: Constructed as part of Barcelona’s coastal improvement works for the 1888 World Exhibition. • Design: • The column stands 60 meters high. • It features Barcelona’s first hydraulic elevator, taking visitors to the upper viewing platform. • At the top stands a statue of Columbus pointing toward the Americas, with the word “Tierra” (“Land”) inscribed on its base.

The Columbus Monument is a great landmark to visit while exploring Barcelona. It’s beautifully detailed, easy to find at the end of La Rambla, and surrounded by lots of things to see and do. The elevator ride to the top is quick, and the panoramic views of the harbor and the city are definitely worth it—perfect for photos and a short break from walking. It’s not a long attraction, more of a quick stop, but still a nice piece of history and architecture. If you’re nearby, it’s absolutely worth visiting.

Beautiful monument and plaza, from the base you can see the cablecars going from the marina to Montjuic and apparently after reading some reviews you can actually pay to go inside and visit the top which i never knew and would've done if I knew before going, I teally just thought it was a monument but apparently its a viewpoint too which is pretty cool.

Great place to visit in the morning on a clear day. Elevator takes you to the top (cost is 10 per adult). No line when I was there. 360 degree view of city. I recommend and would do it again.

This massive tribute to Colombus is worth checking out. Lots of detailed panels, lions and sculptures are incorporated into this monument. Time of day you visit will affect angle at which you can capture the front of Columbus. Lots of other things to see within walking distance of the monument as well.

The Spotify Camp Nou is the iconic home ground of the renowned Barcelona football club. It was inaugurated in 1957 and is known for having the greatest capacity in Europe, making it one of the largest stadiums globally. The stadium offers regular matches as well as tours and a museum, attracting football enthusiasts from around the world. Visitors can explore the locker rooms, tunnels, and field on a tour, providing an immersive experience into the team's environment.
Unfortunately, the stadium is being renovated, so you cannot see the true value of this football stadium. However, aware of the value of the stadium, its tradition, the fact that it is one of the most beautiful and largest stadiums in the world, it receives 5 stars. I will definitely come back once the stadium is finished to enjoy its beauty, but also to watch the Barcelona game :)

Our accommodation was only a 15-minute walk from Camp Nou, so even though it wasn’t part of our original plan, we decided to visit. Unfortunately, our travel dates didn’t match any match days, but it was still worth walking around the stadium, and especially visiting the official Barça merchandise store. Some people say there’s no need to come all the way here because the Barça stores in central Barcelona are cheaper and easier to access. But I disagree. This place is HUGE. A three-story building with practically everything you could imagine. You can find classic replica kits like the 94–95 away jersey, as well as Nike Dri-FIT official sponsor versions. There’s a wide variety of caps, bags, and other accessories too. The staff were all very friendly. You can even see Messi’s autographed jersey and captain’s armband. If you want, you can buy the replicas, just for €2,999.99 and €1,999.99 respectively. There’s also a café and a nice rest area, so if you’re visiting Barcelona and a football fan, I highly recommend stopping by this legendary place. + You can find drinks with Barça packaging for more generous price at supermarkets in the city center.

When I went it was under construction so I didn't get the full experience. If you would like to go just make sure if these works are done or not yet. Actually the stadium is not that astonishing but if you are a Barcelona fan then obviously you'll get in love with 😅

Very nice experience. The interactive museum is well made, got to see many iconic items on display. Thought not very big still a nice tour especially if you like the FC Barcelona team. I highly recommend you book your tickets before arriving. Also, better to book an early time visit as the line and waiting time tend to get longer.

It was a good experience visiting the stadium and the museum, however since the stadium is under construction at the moment it wasn't possible to feel the right energy. Once everything is completed i believe that i will give it 5 stars!

I’ve seen some complaints, but honestly -the stadium’s under renovation, not a secret! What did you expect, a VIP tour of cranes and concrete? The real magic is the feeling of Barça itself , the history, trophies, jerseys, and spirit. The interactive legends show gave me chills, and Messi’s iconic celebration against Madrid next to his golden shoes nearly broke my heart . Paid under €100 for two tickets Worth every cent. Can’t wait for the reopening! Visca el Barça!

I followed Phil "Somebody Feed Phil" to this marketplace to have lunch at El Quim. We expected the seats were hot so we acknowledged to the staff seats for two, and we did not wait long for our seats. Ordering was an ease, the menu was easy understanding and we ordered our food. Everyone was busy but seemed they did not forget every customer, everyone was well taken care of. The must have signature dish: baby squids on fried eggs (2 eggs) was amazing! Best eat with their crusty bread, and use the bread to soak up the sauce left on the pan. We also had the anchovies, oysters and razor clams, all were very delicious. Oh, the sangria, got to have the sangria, it went well with the food. Watching the actions in the kitchen was a bonus. We had such wonderful culinary experience, El Quim isn't just a tapas bar, it is a destination.

Higher prices are expected at a tourist area.. prices are shown upfront, so it is whether one is willing to pay for it. Judging from the crowd, many do. Food is above average and enjoying food in the middle of a bustling market is part of the experience for tourists.

El Quim de la Boquería is a lively and charming bar located inside the famous Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona. The tiny counter-style setup with stools all around gives it an authentic and bustling market atmosphere. The menu offers a wide range of cold and hot tapas, meat and egg dishes, and local drinks, making it a great spot to sample traditional Catalan flavors. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, though prices are slightly on the higher side, which is understandable given the market’s popularity. The bar can get quite busy, adding to the vibrant energy of the place. However, it’s not the most vegan-friendly option—when we asked for vegan dishes, the eggplant came with sour cream and the mushroom plate included foie and egg, which made it difficult for our vegan friend to find suitable options. Still, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the quality and taste of the food stood out. El Quim de la Boquería is best suited for those looking to enjoy authentic market-style dining and local specialties in a lively, central setting.

Heaven. The obligatory seafood platter, the baby squid and the iberico bellota plate are just simply perfect, but there's much more for the gourmets on the rustic & gorgeous lineup: the tripes are sensational! The texture is flawless, cooked to be supersoft but still nicely chewable, the taste is led by a rustic smoky note with a touch of chili - perfection. And the morcilla: well, we have a long tradition of black (blood) pudding in Hungary, but this is very different: it is not just blood, but full of different haggis-like cuts, dressed in a very unusal but phenomenal seasoning (almost sweet, lead by cinnamon, ginger...?). Flawless spot, everything is "Preparado con cariño" as our server said smiling on my honest surprise after tasting the tripes.

This place is definitely overpriced, but their ingredients are top quality. They have starters of sardines, olives and bread. The sardines are mild, slightly fishy, and pretty good chewy bite. The olives are quite mild and pleasant. Then they have the anchovy with tomato bread on the menu(anchoas cantabrico). The menu portion is 4 of each which is 34€, but you can order just 1. That works out to 8.5€ for one of each. The tomato bread was thin and crunchy. The anchovy though was extremely salty, strong tasting and somewhat fishy(less than you would expect for how strong it was) Unless you're an anchovy enjoyer, don't bother for this price Goose barnacles min 100g, 36€ has this particular chew, it's kind of like crab but salty instead of sweet and more chewy. For 100g you don't get much meat, and if I were being honest I have no idea why this thing is a delicacy. It's more just novelty, it's really not superb tasting. It's an interesting snack, maybe worth 5€ for 100g if we just consider the taste. Definitely skip this Minimum order of one Gambas Rojas de roses brasa. This one was top tier. The flesh tasted like the best amaebi. Superbly supple and almost juicy. The head unfortunately was bitter. Unless you have a thing for big prawns tho, I hardly think this is worth it. The smaller ones taste the same, and costs a lot less at other places. The cheesecake is amazing. This is coming from someone who loves cheesecake, it's got such a great harmonious flavour, and the soft crust that's almost a sauce in itself worked wonders too. If you're a serious cheesecake lover, you have to try this. The whole thing was so impressive I couldn't believe they merely used cream cheese. Moreover, the strawberry jam it's served with is one of the best I've had. First of all it seems like there's barely any added sugar, and it's intensely fruity. Most jams are too jammy(as in it seems artificial, rather than something you cook down from natural products), and don't work as a sauce. This one somehow works perfectly with the cheesecake. Apart from the cheesecake, the items here are premium but priced at way too much of a premium with no significant taste improvement. However the cheesecake is insane. I polished it off myself, and you can tell from the pic the thing is not small, probably meant to be shared between 2

The anchovies in olive oil and the big green and black olives were great and full of complex flavors that they served at the beginning. The oysters were good as well. Unfortunately, the rest of the starters and main dishes were just okay. Even the vermouth they served was not of good quality, and the dessert was also 'quite disappointing' despite the promising presentation.

Rafa Zafra’s restaurant delivers a standout seafood experience. Each dish showcases the best of the Mediterranean fresh, elegant, and full of flavor. The red prawns are a highlight, perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. Service is polished and relaxed, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Estimar. A bit pricey, but well worth it! The restaurant is small, intimate, and fun watching the chefs work around us. We started with the oysters and caviar butter toast - so good! Picked our own fresh scorpion fish and paired with the asparagus. And the cheesecake is a must!

Amazing high quality fresh food. Everything is delicious and well cooked. Good atmosphere and great kind service. The place is hidden in a small street and the restaurant is quite small which gives a lovely atmosphere. The menu is super rich and based mostly in fresh fish that they cook in front of you(depending on the table). Only con: the price of wines is outrageous.

Decent food experience with one surprise on our tastebuds - the crayfish carpaccio. Lovely goose barnacles. We ordered a few rounds. Rose red prawns a bit average. Price is super good for what you get. We ordered cheesecake for takeaway as we were too full.

So I expected this to be incredible as I found it on the Michelin guide, but all the food that I received was subpar. I’m really disappointed as to spend €500 in Barcelona is really difficult to do and even though the staff knew that we didn’t love the food they didn’t even come and talk to us about it. Super overrated and I would say go somewhere else where you can have a more exciting experience and way better food as even everyone around us was not impressed by the restaurant either.

Bodega La Puntual

Catalonian restaurant
Nestled in the bustling Carrer Montcada in Barcelona, Bodega La Puntual is a contemporary tavern that offers a wide variety of tapas, vermouth, and wine. Despite its touristy location near the Picasso Museum, this historic wine bar has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The menu features an extensive selection of local, national, and international wines by the bottle or glass.
This place boasts a wonderful atmosphere that immediately draws you in. The climate—perhaps a mix of the ambiance and the pleasant weather—creates an inviting setting that’s hard to resist. It’s true that the space can feel a bit cramped at times, but in my view, this minor flaw doesn’t detract from the overall experience. The charm and character more than make up for any sense of confinement. I thoroughly enjoyed spending an evening here, sipping on a glass of wine and indulging in some delicious Spanish specialties. The food was a highlight, bursting with authentic flavors that paired perfectly with the relaxed vibe. It’s the kind of spot where you can unwind, savor good company, and let the hours slip by unnoticed. For anyone looking for a cozy, enjoyable night out, this place delivers a memorable experience despite its slightly snug quarters.

Located in the heart of the trendy El Born district, this surprisingly large restaurant serves some of the best tapas in Barcelona. Croquettes were perfectly cooked, paella dishes were flavorful, and don’t miss the codfish omelette! Fast and friendly service, and we left feeling completely full and very satisfied.

We stopped by Bodega La Puntual for a quick pre-dinner meal because we were too hungry to wait for our 8pm reservation—and we’re so glad we did! The service was fast, and the food hit the spot. We especially enjoyed the fried artichoke—crispy, smokey and flavorful—and the fried anchovies, which were light and delicious. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy some quality tapas. Definitely planning to come back for a proper dinner next time! 💛🍋

When in Barcelona, whether for work or leisure, it’s about finding the best place for tapas. Now, I’m not going to remember every dish ordered because my colleagues and I went on a bit of a tear, but rather, tell you that the overall experience was great. Service staff started off slow and a bit disinterested in serving us, coming off a bit gruff and inpatient. But quickly, our server, Julian, got more personable and friendly that by the end of the meal was engaging us in conversation. He was awesome! As for the food, an every dish ordered was fantastic! The Jamon Iberico “Maldonado” stood out for me. The Croquettes were very good too. Order one of everything because based on what we ordered, there was nothing lacking; you will leave the restaurant satisfied. If you find yourself in Barcelona, this place is somewhere you must go!

A lovely restaurant in a lovely neighborhood! The croquetas and artichoke were especially delicious, although the fried squid was disappointingly pretty bland. Otherwise it was a great meal!

I wasn't in the mood the queue nearby, so I went in here... Bombas de Barcelona were cold inside, so I guess they had them frozen or reheated from the fridge. Tartar de atun was fine, but 3 chips for a plate of tartar won't do it. Overall serving was bad and food arrived quite late.

Food: Selection of tapas is similar to other places specializing in tapas. I took fish as a main. Artichoke sauce heavily over-salted, fish and potatoes fine but too salty sauce killed the taste of the meal. Service: they forgot to prepare one meal. When they realized and delivered, the others were having deserts. Loo review: cleaneless and state of gents’ loo is 1 star. Very dirty, looks like not cleaned for a day. Disgusting.

Giving this a 5 star survey soley for the great service of Adnane and Amadeu. They were fantastic! Owner - they need some sort of raise and recognition. It was very busy when I arrived but Adnane was greating everyone and busting tables at the same time. Amadeu was the only server outside and was very patient with everyone despite the rush. The food was cooked well but bland, however I walked away 100% satisfied because of the service 😄. Oh and outside seating was perfect woth the view!

Came at 1:30 pm, solo traveler. This is an odd time for solo people since most restaurants will not want to take you during “prime” time. They allowed me to sit outside to order food and drink. Food was delicious! May be a bit over priced but location is in a prime tourist zone. Finished off with a great cappuccino. Plus WiFi. I wish I could have order the tapas but I unfortunately cannot eat seafood.

2025/09 We came here specifically for the pintxos, but unfortunately they weren’t very impressive. The flavour was average, and at around €3 per piece, it didn’t feel like good value for money. Overall, a bit disappointing for what we were expecting.

I’m so surprised why the rates are low, I was there in November and yesterday as well, both times everything was perfect. Food is amazing ( we ordered patatas bravas, pulpo and cannelloni ), the staff is so nice and polite, and the fact that you have amazing garden with a view on cathedral in Barcelona is such a big plus for someone who enjoys eating outside. For day 4, we bundled attractions like Magic Fountain of Montjuïc and Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 8 hours.

The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc is a renowned circular fountain in Barcelona known for its scheduled shows of water and light choreographed to music. Located on the slopes of Montjuic hill, it is considered one of the city's symbols. In the evening, the fountain transforms into an enchanting display as water jets dance to melodies from composers like Bach, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky.
In my opinion THE place to be in Barcelona for the evenings/sunset. The view from the streets up the "Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya" is breathtaking. There are 3 stages of steps to reach the top, each with its own scenic views of the city. Reach top and then there is the spectacular view of the city. Stay top, enjoy the sunset with some good live music that's performed everyday. The fountain then starts in late evening, enjoy it from the top and then walk back down and enjoy close-up. Totally worthwhile!

We were fortunate to catch the Magic Fountain show on our last night in Barcelona (Thursday it also runs on Fridays and Saturdays). We arrived around 8:30 pm and found seats on the benches opposite the fountains. If you’d like one of the popular spots on the museum steps, I’d suggest getting there earlier, but our view was still great - even standing closer to the fountains worked well. The pre-show began around 8:45 pm, with the main show starting at 9 pm and lasting well over 30 minutes. It was much better than I expected, with lights and water dancing to popular soundtracks. There was a lovely family atmosphere all around. Totally recommend catching it if you’re in Barcelona on one of the show nights!

One of the most amazing spectacles in the world! A must see on any sight seeing agenda! It has just reopened, after 3 years of drought restrictions, and renovations, and it is now back with a bang! I saw it on Sunday night to mark the finale of Barcelona’s festivities, when over 110,000 people came to watch the show, snd what a wonder it was to behold! Over 3 hours of the fountain dancing to music and lit in beautiful colours, and then a 30 minute fire work display to top it all off! This was a truly magnificent sight, mesmerisingly beautiful and truly magic… will i be back… yes i will…😀

Walk to the very top in front of the art museum, fantastic view across the whole city ! , I think the fountains are only turned on on certain days as both times we visited they weren’t turned on, so worth checking, it’s best to visit this area at dusk to late evening to get a great view, it’s not too steep to climb to top for the best view as there’s outdoor escalators most of the way up ! Although some of them weren’t working

The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is a grand museum located in the Palau Nacional, offering a stunning collection of Catalan art spanning from the 11th to the 20th century. Renovated by architect Gae Aulenti, it houses significant Romanesque and Gothic collections, as well as a photography collection and the Cambo Collection. In 2004, it expanded to include Catalan Impressionist and Moderniste painters' works.
I loved the museum! If you want to take your time and look at every painting, the museum will take you more than 2 hours to see because it's big and has different sections for different art types. The library is huge and so beautiful, you can spend some time there as well. I definitely recommend putting MNAC on your list if you are visiting Barcelona.

i visited this on a saturday evening, when it is free. wonderful collection and the scenography is BEAUTIFUL!! i felt really inspired. it really captured the beauty of the art presented, and has a logical narrative thread you can follow to understand the ins and outs of the story the art tells of Spain and Catalunya. i edpecially loved the scenography of the religious art, very nice mise en scene with the church silhouettes, it was much easier to understand. only minus was this section had no english explanations. i also enjoyed the gift shop very much, the items available and the organisation of it

Sometimes they have free entry into the museum, so worth keeping a look out for that. Even if you don't want to enter the museum it is definitely worth going to the entrance. You can sit on the steps & enjoy music good vibes & open a beer 🍻

A must do. If there's one museum you should visit in Barcelona, it's this one. It covers Catalan art from every period of history. The room with the church ceilings is very impressive and unique! I recommend visiting when it's free: Sundays after 3 p.m.! It took me approximately 3 hours.

My recent visit to the National Museum of Catalonia in Barcelona was truly inspiring. I found myself completely absorbed by the diverse collection of portraits from modern art to the Baroque era each telling its own profound human story. The narrative portraits, especially The Three Beggars, captivated me with their emotional depth and symbolism. Visiting during the Healing Arts Week by the Jameel Arts & Health Lab made the experience even more meaningful, blending art, reflection, and wellbeing. A deeply memorable visit that bridges history, emotion, and the healing power of art.

It's a good art museum, but I was more shocked by the architecurre

Poble Espanyol, also known as Spanish Town, is an open-air museum in Barcelona that offers a unique experience for visitors of all ages. Established in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exposition, this expansive site features 117 meticulously crafted buildings representing diverse architectural styles from regions across Spain. As you wander through the streets reminiscent of Andalusia with white houses and blue pots, you'll encounter artisan shops, art galleries, restaurants, and live music venues.
We really enjoyed our time here. My husband was a little dubious it would be tacky and naff but it was lovely to spend the afternoon wandering the streets of Spain while not venturing far from Barcelona city centre. The little shops were great...we picked up a beautiful piece of artwork and tried some amazing sweet treats. The food offering was OK...nothing special but good enough. Highly recommend visiting here when you need a break from the bustle of Barcelona but still want to do something authentically Spanish.

i wish i liked this place more. i liked the concept of it, but i found very little to explore during my visit. i decided to come later in the day, because i had lots of other things planned in the morning and this was opened later. i had my ticket already purchased online, it was date-specific, and at the gate i was told the monastery was closed for a private event, so we couldn't visit that and the area surrounding it, which i found odd. i didn't know prior to my purchase this aspect. the artisans have mostly left by then (i got there at around 16h) and it felt very empty. i expected to appreciate the architecture, which i did, even though it had a slight tacky feeling. there were lots of english signs with explanations. the art museum was really wonderful, i loved the collection presented.

Stopped here during our Hop on Hop Off. I saw the pictures of the umbrellas & just had to see it! You have to purchasea ticket to enter. I believe it was $15 just to enter & freely walk around. We went on a Friday & surprisingly wasn't crowded. No line for tickets & once you're in is a huge place to walk around. Lots of stores were artsy & craft things which was really cool. Got a handmade purse that I used for the rest of the trip. Lots of restaurants around too. The buildings & architecture are just amazing! The area is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside!

Poble Espanyol is a great place for families in Barcelona. Kids love wandering through the charming little streets, watching artisans work, and joining the fun craft activities. There’s plenty of space to play, and it’s easy to spend a relaxed afternoon exploring together. They also host lots of family-friendly events throughout the year—festivals, workshops, and seasonal celebrations—which always add something special to the visit. It’s a warm, enjoyable spot that feels welcoming for all ages.

Google maps will tell you this is open till midnight, and while it may be, they stop renting audio guides after 7 pm (no online audio guide option) and many of the shops, galleries, attractions and restaurants close. It was still fun and interesting walking around the village, and finding an open restaurant to sip wine and people watch, while waiting for the magic fountain (nearby) at 9 pm. The reason for the 3 star review was the ticket agents provided misinformation (saying only one of the several restaurants was open - we saw 3 food trucks, 2 restaurants, a bar?, and a coffee shop open) and the paper map had audio guide numbers but not much other info on the buildings.

Recommended if you are a family, a local who cannot travel throughout Spain, or a tourist who does not have time to travel all over Spain. If you have traveled all over Spain, it is not particularly interesting. If you have time to waste, it's best to visit when it's free: La Mercè, 48h open house bcn, etc. But you'll have to wait for 1-2 hours! Signs explain the different buildings and provide information about the regions represented. They regularly have themes (e.g., Halloween), but I recommend visiting without these themes to fully admire the Spain represented.

The restaurant, located in Barcelona, offers a blend of Japanese tapas and Mediterranean flavors, with the owners personally involved in both the kitchen and dining room. The love and dedication of the owners are evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from its carefully crafted dishes to its cozy ambiance.
An amazing culinary experience in Barcelona during our travels! Alapar is really a ‘must try’ if you’re ever heading to Barcelona. We tried their tasting menu for dinner and it was not disappointing. A menu, well balanced between 7-9 courses with a fusion of Japanese/Spanish elements very well blended. It truly was memorable. The presentation and cutlery are all beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. All the dishes were delicious, bringing out flavours I’ve never tasted before! An art and science, Alapar did not fail to deliver. Wonderful service as well from the team, paying attention to all the customers. Would love to try it again if we are back in Barcelona.

Great Japanese tasting menu. They were very innovative without losing taste of sight if you know what I mean. 5 stars because even if a couple dishes were not that great (the noodles or the shrimp heads were not remarkable), there were others that were mind blowing, and very unique. Recommend ordering the big Omakase menu (we ordered small) as it's not super filing (I usually order the small tasting menu these days).
Marc L — Google review
Delicious omakase, with 17 courses. It goes faster and lighter than you think, so if you’re a big eater, go for the larger option. The “smaller” omakase does not come with wine pairing either, as a note. Very nice wine and sake list and options. Not sure if I’d come back, but it was a nice experience.

The Japanese-Mediterranean fusion is executed with such precision that each bite feels like a small revelation. The tuna belly sushi with caviar was pure decadence—silky, rich, perfectly balanced with just the right pop of salt. The brioche bread topped with tuna tartare was an instant favorite: playful, indulgent, and so well composed. And the hamachi sashimi was fresh, delicate, and beautifully cut—showcasing the kind of respect for ingredients you only find in the best sushi bars. Service was warm and knowledgeable, the atmosphere intimate yet unpretentious. It’s the kind of place you want to linger, savor, and then immediately plan your next visit.

I had the privilege of dining at Alapar with my sister during my visit to Barcelona. I had a wonderful experience. We did the omakase Alapar, which had about 19 courses. I found it to be a fun experience, and I was pleased by the subtle and thoughtful ways in which they created a fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine. Our chef worked at a feverish pace, but kindly accommodated us by explaining the dishes to us in English. Because of the noise level, it was a little hard to hear everything he described about each course, but to be fair, he had to speak English to us, then switch over to Spanish for the other couple sitting with us. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a lot of the traditionally East Asian ingredients are also grown in Spain, as I understood it, about 2 hours from the Barcelona area. At one point, the chef showed us a huge wasabi plant up close, which I saw him grinding into a paste when we first sat down. The first 2 courses had tuna and squid on top of a type of bread. It had good mouthfeel and felt like it melted in my mouth. This actually worked really well. Other dishes incorporated Mediterranean flavors by including citrus juice and/or spices like paprika, which also worked well for me. Towards the end of the main courses (by that I mean before dessert), there was a nice transition from cold dishes to warm dishes. The warm dishes included an udon noodle dish that was fun to mix the egg yolk into. I also appreciated that they had non-alcoholic wine, which was nice to pair with the omakase. They even chilled it for me between refills, which was a thoughtful touch. I don't recall or know the details of how they incorporated Mediterranean flavors into the oils and sauces used in the dishes, but it was a great fusion of two types of cuisine. In my experience dining at other restaurants that do fusion, it's actually quite hard to do well. Some places don't blend the cuisines smoothly or creatively to create a new flavor experience. Alapar succeeded greatly in this aspect. Besides the high quality of flavors and fresh fish ingredients, the price point is amazing for what you get. This would cost 2-3x more in the US, where I'm from. Another thing is that the hospitality was great. We had a situation where my dining partner had indigestion resulting from a chronic medical condition, and Alapar kindly accommodated this by fulfilling our request to take home some of the omakase courses. It would totally have been their right to refuse this for quality consistency/reputation purposes, but they respected our wishes. I have to say, the creativity extended to the desserts as well. Wasabi flavor works surprisingly well in ice cream and the ice cream sando with thinly shaved figs on top was reminiscent of ice cream-filled taiyaki, which I am familiar since there is a Korean version of that dessert. I would totally go back to Alapar the next time I am in Barcelona. Shout out to our chef who graciously answered all of our questions about the food and accommodated our indigestion situation, which probably caused some disruption in his work process that was intensely fast because he was preparing for not only our omakase but also other tables. I follow Alapar on Instagram now and look forward to the new ideas for fusion that they come up with.

It’s a hidden gem! The chef was once worked in 2024 Michelins World Best 50 Fine Dining rank # 1 Disfrutar so that’s why some of the dishes we see the shadows of Disfrutar, and there’s a dish we can taste nearly the same of one of the dish from Disfrutar as well! We tried the 95 euro 20 courses and it’s worth the price! Some dishes are just like piece of art. However I think one of the reasons they still didn’t reach a star of Michelin is the services. The server didn’t serve with a heart and they couldn’t handle situation well. They expect you to pass the plate yourself, and screwed up some food when they put on the table, and there’s a plate they served have a few broken edges. And when they explained the dish they just talked and walked at the same time looks like they are in a rush. Besides that, the food itself are wonderful!

This Michelin-starred restaurant combines top-quality Spanish ingredients with traditional Mexican spices and techniques to create beloved dishes like mole and cochinita pibil. The menu offers two tasting options featuring Iberian pork, chicken, steak, or lobster.
What a nice moment we spent! The chef is very creative, and you'll be able to discover his world throughout this beautiful food journey. The team is young and motivated. The place is smart and elegant.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience at COME. The staff, the atmosphere and the food were all incredible. My partner and I chose to also enjoy the drink pairings, which we did not regret in the slightest. Our favorite bites were the coconut series, the salad duo and the al pastor tacos. The hot and cold margarita was out of this world! We enjoyed a few other fine dining/Michelin-rated restaurants during our time in Spain, and I can easily say that COME was the best in terms of their warmth toward their guests and their hospitality. I will happily tell everyone I know to visit COME when they visit Barcelona!

I want to start by saying that the preparation and many of the flavours were outstanding. The service from 90% of the staff was beyond reproach. Each plate was a piece of art and the hot/cold margarita was the best cocktail I’ve ever had! HOWEVER, the sommelier ruined our dining experience. How a starred Michelin restaurant could have such an unhelpful and arrogant employee is a mystery to me. We learned that the other employees also have a problem with his attitude. The fact that he continues to be there must be due to nepotism because no restaurant, let alone a Michelin starred one would maintain somebody like that. He was unable to share any possible knowledge that he had of the wine. My dining companions and I have all been to countless Michelin restaurants and never had an issue with service in any of them. I would like to add that the bar station was the highlight of our evening. The service, the creativity and the flavours were spectacular. Had we finished the evening there we may have been much happier. It’s sad when one employee can ruin an entire evening.

One of the best Mexican dinners ever! Loved the food, restaurant interior, open kitchen, service, presentation, cocktails and the wine… the set-menu was absolutely delicious. So many food surprises and new flavours. Can only recommend this restaurant for special occasions! Will be back as soon as possible.

We had a truly amazing night dining at COME - the food was incredible, the atmosphere and organization fantastic, and you could not ask for better service from the staff. Very much deserving of their Michelin-star, and would not be surprised if they get a higher rating in the near future - we have previously dined at several 2- and 3-star restaurants, yet COME is our favorite so far. Also suprisingly reasonably priced for a Michelin-restaurant. We will definitively come back the next time we are in Barcelona. Unforgettable. My suggestion: book a table and go!

Amazing is all I can say about that place. Food, Drinks and service are all top notch. Definitely go there if you consideri it.
Tobias G — Google review
The food was good but some dishes were not that flavorful and tasty as compared to some other one star Michelin restaurants I have been to. Some dishes were very surprising combinations such as ceaser salad, nogaa fig&grapes and 30 greens. Red mullet and squid very extremely delicious. Desserts was also good. These make it worth to visit this restaurant.
Ahmet T — Google review
Truly one of the best (maybe the best) meals we’ve ever had. Each course was so creative and delicious and the wine pairing was marvelous. We’ve eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants in San Francisco, Washington DC and Italy and your cuisine was truly exceptional. This is not a complaint, just a comment to help you continue to grow. The service was slightly more clunky than at other 2 and 3 stars, but we were the first seating of the night. But I’d say your food was our favorite ever. The caprese and Caesar salads were inspired and the Al pastor was the best I’ll ever have. Thank you - we would absolutely return next time we are in Barcelona.

Westfield La Maquinista is the largest shopping center in Barcelona, located on the outskirts near Sant Andreu and El Fondo neighborhoods. With 221 stores spread across its three floors and a vast 250,000 square meter area, it offers a wide range of shopping options including fashion for men, women, and children, hardware stores, home furnishing outlets, an Apple store, bookstores and multimedia shops. Pet friendly, clean, super big open air shopping mall! Has all the main stores like zara, h&m, uniqlo - would be amazing if it had a primark. The food plaza is huge and also pet friendly! You can spend a nice day there

Huge shopping center offering modern and spacious environment with popular brands as well as luxury brands. There is a variety of dining options and an entertainment area. Highly recommended to spend a full day to enjoy shopping, entertainment and dining. The parking is free of charge.

This shopping mall was the first one we visited during our holiday in Barcelona. We went here because of the number of reviews on maps. It took us 35 minutes to arrive by bus from our hotel near Sagrada Família. The mall is super big with many stores. It is an open space shopping mall with fresh air. It feels good during the spring because there is no rain. I cannot imagine how this will be during the rainy season. The shopping mall is clean as well as the bathroom. They have Carrefour on the 0 floor if we need to buy some snacks. Playground for kids are available in the food court area and 0 floor as well. Cons 1. People with reduced mobility need to find the lift from a limited area. 2. Free wifi is only 20 minutes provided by the shopping mall. We went to Taco Bell and we got free wifi without registration.

Review of Westfield La Maquinista (Barcelona, Spain) Overview: Westfield La Maquinista is one of Barcelona’s largest and most popular shopping centers, located in the Sant Andreu district. Opened in 2000 and later expanded, it combines a mix of high-street fashion, electronics, home goods, dining, and entertainment, making it a one-stop destination for locals and tourists alike. Verdict: ⭐ 4.3/5 – Westfield La Maquinista is a great all-around shopping and leisure destination, ideal for a day out. While not the most luxurious, its variety, accessibility, and entertainment options make it a favorite in Barcelona. Tip: Visit on weekdays for a more relaxed experience, and check the mall’s website for seasonal sales and events.

Beautiful open air mall with a big variety of shops. Pet friendly and kept very clean. Also has more than plenty of parking.

It is an outdoor mall. Best place to do shopping since they have a lot of stores of different brands. They also have plenty of restaurants upstairs but usually have a long queue.

Had a really good experience at Westfield La Maquinista! I spent almost the whole day there — there are so many great shops, restaurants, and cool spots to explore. The mall is huge, super clean, and easy to walk around (but be ready to walk a lot 😅). Parking was also really convenient with plenty of space. Definitely one of the best malls in Barcelona! 🇪🇸🛍️

Diagonal Mar is a modern retail center located in the Sant Marti district of Barcelona. Situated opposite the beach, this fashionable mall offers three floors of brand-name stores, eateries, and a 17-screen movie theater. The post-modern influenced neighborhood also provides easy access to Diagonal Park for a leisurely stroll among its metal sculptures.
Stopped in here to grab a bite to eat before Primavera across the street. The restaurants are located on the 3rd floor and there are lots to choose from. There were so many stores inside, some familiar to this American and some not. It was also very clean and easy to navigate.

Fantastic Mall We love this place, it has all the shops my family like and is perfectly located next to the Hilton. You will find here a food court but also all the Spanish brands you expect. Super place!

Diagonal Mar – Paradise Found (for Tired Sherpas) Diagonal Mar may be Barcelona’s temple of fashion, makeup, and electronic temptation. But let’s talk about the real heroes of this place: the benches, the cafes, and the blessed little bars scattered like oases through the desert of shopping. As the designated sherpa (a noble role involving the silent transport of bags and the occasional opinion on “which looks better”), I salute the architects. They clearly knew my struggle. I found my peaceful corner, dropped the bags with a thud of liberation, and let my weary legs rejoice over a cortado and a hint of Wi-Fi. My partner explored trends; I explored tapas. She conquered Zara and Sephora; I conquered a nap in the sun-drenched terrassa.

Wow, this place is massive! If you love shopping, you’ll be in heaven — a mix of local and UK brands, plus so many different types of stores to explore. I easily spent 4 to 4.5 hours there, even trying to limit myself to 15-20 minutes per shop, so definitely plan ahead if you want to see it all. Make sure you check out the top floor — the food court is huge and there are soooo many options, perfect for a proper food break. Sushi lovers, don’t miss Sushi BCN — always freshly made and packed with flavour, honestly some of the best sushi I’ve had in Barcelona!
ItsJoelAnthxny — Google review
It’s a nice shopping mall. However it is extremely hot inside, during the hot summer the AC it’s always off, you will see lots of people with their portable fans as the heat is unbearable. If you’re looking for a sauna this is your perfect spot.

Nothing special, over crowded and the air circulation in there is too hot… really hard to breath. If you don’t have specific items that must be bought from this place, please avoid visiting. Better go hang out somewhere else.

🚨Warning to Tourists in Barcelona!🚨 I recently visited Barcelona as a tourist and had an extremely disappointing experience at Diagonal Mar shopping center. While I parked my car in their paid, gated parking lot during broad daylight, my car window was smashed, and all items inside were stolen. This included personal belongings and valuables, which has left me feeling violated and frustrated. What’s even more disappointing is the complete lack of response from the mall management. Despite sending multiple emails requesting compensation or at least an explanation of their security measures, I have received negative reply. It’s shocking that a shopping center of this size and reputation would ignore a customer who experienced such a traumatic incident on their premises. there were clearly insufficient security measures in place to prevent this theft. There were no visible security guards, and the CCTV cameras (if any) did not deter the thieves. As a tourist, I expected better from a well-known establishment in Barcelona. I urge the management of Diagonal Mar to take responsibility for this incident and improve their security measures to prevent this from happening to others. Until then, I strongly advise visitors to avoid parking at this facility and to be cautious about leaving any valuables in their cars. so many similar incidents of car theft can be seen on google Reviews but no action from management. Barcelona Zoo is a park-like setting where visitors can see exotic animals in natural habitats and enjoy sea lion feedings. The zoo offers various ticket categories, with different prices for adults, children, individuals with disabilities, and seniors. It's a great option for families visiting Barcelona, as it provides an opportunity to explore a wide variety of plants and animals including lions, hippos, giraffes, elephants, orangutans, penguins and Komodo dragons.
My daughter and I had a blast here. We spent 2-3 hours walking the entire park and saw amazing animals of all kinds. We did not stop and eat at any of the restaurants however and recommend bringing your own food and drinks. Since it was very hot some animals were hiding in the shade but that is understandable. We saw more than enough to make the trip a memorable one!
Evan S — Google review
I went this afternoon with my friends! Was amazing since the beginning! I have been in many Zoo in Europe and this one was very beautiful! Clean.. Animals have they own space and they seem to be in good shape... Normally I don't support animales outside they natural environment but at least the animals seems to have more hope and more life chances in the zoo. Thanks to all the employees! Would recommend for sure to spend a beautiful time! Don't miss any animal!
Giselle C — Google review
We have both the tickets online. It was cheaper and we skipped the waiting line for buying the tickets. It has good variety of exotic animals. The most remarkable thing was the giant turtles you can’t see them at any zoo.
Anet S — Google review
If you buy the annual pass its the same price as one visit, you get disocunt on fod and allows you to enjoy special events. I great opportunity to forget about the city and enjoy a travel through the diferrent species. Some of them have a very tiny space considering their behaviour but all of them seem very well treated.

This zoo was easy to find and access. Entrance was simple with our online bar codes. The zoo was clean, very walkable, kid-friendly and has a play area. We sadly didn’t arrive until 2:30 so we didn’t have enough time to explore the whole zoo! Would definitely come back again!

Great city zoo. Probably one of the best city zoos we have visited. Great selection of animals. Good price. Clean, tidy and hygienic. Selection of gift shops and eateries. Only downside is to make sure you have mosquito spray, as we were bitten a few times whilst there. Apart from that, would highly recommend.
Jake — Google review
It’s worth a visit. We didn’t see all the animals but most of them. It was a nice walk and we spent about 3h here. We didn’t bought tickets in advance and it was no waiting time.
Corina E — Google review
Actually has a surprising amount of animals for a city centre zoo (when comparing it to London and Amsterdam which we have been) You already have the same guilty feeling of seeing wild animals in captivity but from reading a lot of the signs (that are all in English and Spanish) it’s clear that the zoo does a lot for conservation and wildlife support of endangered animals so it’s perhaps a needed “evil”. Price was a fair price as well (and think it was a little cheaper if you booked online) would recommend though, we had a great few hours!

Very cute space for a break in this very hot summer in Barcelona. The prices are reasonable and a huge plus for the available power plugs to recharge the phone while you take a break away from the sun and the heat. A special mention for the empanadas, perfect little snack in the early evening.

Stumbled upon this cozy coffee shop in Barcelona and had an amazing surprise — the waiter, Michael, went out of his way to make me a custom coffee that wasn’t even on the menu. My wife and I really like this spot and will definitely return! Our server (only one for Sunday brunch, we felt bad for him!) was super nice, the place has a nice chill vibe and the food was really tasty. We had the mac & cheese croquetones (mac and cheese balls), we liked them more without the cheese and parsley sauce that they are served with. We also had their bikini, which was also great and is different from most simple ham & cheese grilled sandwiches. It has bacon, fresh-baked bread and really good cheese, with a bowl of tomato dip/soup. Go!

The English burrito is neither English,Mexican, or Spanish and is not actually a burrito but all the “ingredients” to a burrito in a tortilla bowl but the tortilla isn’t crispy like a traditional burrito bowl it’s just an undercooked tortilla (Also took them 25 minutes to prepare). Please don’t order it. The pulled pork bravas are absolutely delicious and the coffee is very good, though.

Cal Pep is a bustling tapas bar located in the trendy El Born district of Barcelona. Since its opening in 1989, it has become a beloved classic, attracting both locals and tourists. The restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere with exposed brick walls and counter seating. Guests can enjoy an array of Mediterranean dishes made with fresh seasonal ingredients, including seafood, fish, meat, and vegetables.
Though there was as a bit of a wait as it was busy spot to eat, it was worth it. The experience was incredible. We sat in the entry/bar area which provided a view of the chef's preparing the food. The service staff were fun and friendly. The food was spectacular. Get everything! 😂🤤

The quality of the food is superb there's so much variety with a lot of the dishes, since there's no menu everything is a pleasant surprise. The chefs are very skilful as each dish tastes lovely with the Catalan style. The staff were very friendly and provided good service. The ambiance is the right balance. Easy 10/10

I’m always a little anxious when I try a place with the level of renown of Cal Pep for the first time. Will it really live up to the reputation? Will the crowd ruin the experience? Will the staff betray a whiff of a restaurant that is buckling under the weight of expectations? Nothing could be farther from the truth here. This is an excellent restaurant. The service is dialed in; attentive, fast and friendly. The dishes you have heard about are as good as you are expecting. It’s not that hard to get a reservation, really. The prices are reasonable! Sometimes a restaurant is exactly as good as you’ve heard, and you get it immediately. This is a place like that. Don’t miss it!

Absolutely perfect! The food was outstanding, and the space felt authentic, warm, and charming. However, it’s the staff who truly deserve the most credit for making this such a phenomenal experience. Their kindness, attention, and genuine hospitality made us feel completely at home. This is something everyone should experience — a shining example of what true hospitality should look like. Other hosts could definitely learn from them!

They didn’t provide a menu for some reason, which was a bit unusual. The food was salty, but overall very tasty and enjoyable. Our server, Peter, was incredibly friendly, humorous, and attentive — truly an outstanding staff member. The iron gate at the entrance opened exactly at 7:30 PM, and many people were already waiting in line beforehand. The house wine was affordable and paired very well with the dishes. The place filled up quickly, and soon there were people waiting inside as well. Overall, it was a lively and memorable dining experience.

Seafood restaurant
Can Fisher Restaurante playa Bogatell is a contemporary venue that offers a superb seafood dining experience with a Mediterranean view. Located on the sun-drenched promenade overlooking Bogatell beach, it provides a less-touristy alternative to the crowded Barceloneta area. The restaurant is known for its creative rice dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, such as seasonal-veg rice with cashew pesto and seafood paella.
This beachside restaurant delivered one of the best meals we had in Barcelona — and the view was absolutely incredible, right by the sand with the Mediterranean stretching out in front of us. It doesn’t get more “by the beach” than this. We started with warm bread and olives, followed by croquettes and fresh calamari that was perfectly crisp and tender. A chilled pitcher of sangria set the tone — fruity, refreshing, and ideal for a seaside lunch. The real star was the paella. We’ve tried paella at some of Barcelona’s most talked-about spots, but this one stood out as one of the very best. The squid ink paella, in particular, was spot on — rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite captured the essence of fresh seafood. Between the unbeatable view, excellent service, and standout food, this was easily one of the most memorable meals of our trip. A true gem for anyone looking for authentic seafood and paella with the bonus of a stunning beachfront setting.

Lluritu is a compact seafood eatery in Barcelona that prides itself on serving locally sourced grilled seafood in a minimalist setting. Despite its simple self-description as a mid-range seafood restaurant, Lluritu offers an excellent quality menu of Spanish seafood from the Mediterranean and northern Atlantic coasts at accessible prices. The restaurant's lively and festive atmosphere adds to its charm, making it a top choice for both seafood aficionados and casual diners.
Fresh fish, prawns and shells served tapas-style. No fuss, only fresh ingredients (raw, grilled or marinated) served with little to none garnish highlighting their own distinct flavour. The best scallops ever, pure excellence!

We came here as a walk in, luckily we were the first to arrive before opening as there is very limited seating. We sat at the counter area at the front of the restaurant. We ordered quite a large selection of dishes as you'll see in the images. The food was well cooked but not over cooked and the way it was cooked really emphasised the flavours of the seafood. The service was friendly and attentive, we really enjoyed this place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

The scallop is woohoo good that I ordered twice (8 pieces) still feels not enough. Can be a bit slow during peak hours, but the service is good (love the smiles from them). The shrimp is my second favorite, super tender and fresh. Taste overall is a little salty but still balanced. Highly recommend place for seafood lovers from anywhere

Busy restaurant! Requires a booking. Great for fresh seafood in the middle of the city! - most of the ingredients are only lightly seasoned to allow the natural flavours to come through - reasonable pricing for seafood which is very fresh - great for lunch! - the razor clams and the prawns were great. - the ceviche was a tad under seasoned for me. - an English menu is provided. - they strictly open only after 1pm.

I’ve been here a couple of times now, in my opinion it’s the best seafood place in Gracia, or maybe all of Barcelona. Must try: scallops, calamari, monkfish. Everything is nicely flavoured, perfectly cooked, just delicious.

This is my favourite place to eat fish in Barcelona. There are so many dishes that I crave so much and have to return for! Namely - the scallops. They are salty, sweet, tangy and delicious. The sardines are also so yummy. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and the service is really good. I can never finish a meal without a mousse de galleta maria which tastes like my childhood. A wonderful and special place.

Despite being totally empty we were only graced with the corner of the bar, as if it was a super big favor. The ceviche was amazing, the service was curt and not friendly at all. Nice wine, music was very off putting akin to a long distance bus radio in Spain. Mixed feelings overall, but wasn't the worst either, the scallops were good. Seeing other parties being turned away while the whole place including away from the empty counters was a strange feat to behold. Mixed feelings overall, probably not returning any time soon 😅
