If you're looking to immerse yourself in the culinary delights of Spain, look no further than Barcelona Cooking. This unique experience begins with a vibrant visit to the iconic Boqueria Market, where you'll handpick fresh ingredients for your cooking class.
A definite trip highlight in Barcelona!!! Highly recommend, lovely chef Sonja helped us make a wonderful authentic Spanish meal. We drank delicious wine from the region and had lovely conversation with other guests. I purchased a recipe book & jar of saffron which made a wonderful souvenir. A beautiful evening ♥️

"Juan-tastic" experience with Barcelona Cooking. My wife and I took a paella cooking class with Chef Juan at Barcelona Cooking. He is a “Juan-derful” person, professional chef, excellent humor, and a phenomenal instructor. All of the ingredients for our meal were fresh and laid out in front of the stations we cooked. We made a gorgeous butternut squash soup, Spanish tortilla, tomato & olive oil bread, chicken paella, and crema de Catalan! Everything was amazing, including the music, and white & red wine that flowed unlimited. The best meal we've ever had in our lives (and my wife is a professional baker). The night was very special and Juan was fantastic, a new lifelong friend. A night and meal we will never forget. We highly recommend Barcelona Cooking for anyone looking for a memorable evening in Barcelona. It was a great way to experience the culture of this city. We will do this again on our next visit to Barcelona.

Has such a fun time learning to cook with Juan! We cooked everything from appetizer to dessert and have some great lessons to take home with us (and recipes). Great evening activity in Barcelona.

This was an amazing class! Sonia was a great and informative instructor. Highly recommend to take this class if you’re visiting Barcelona. We made Paella’s, Gazpacho, tortilla de patatas, con pan tomata and crema Catalan !!!
Tina B — Google review
It’s an incredible experience. We spent time with Juan, a wonderful person who, besides teaching us how to cook an amazing paella, shared a very joyful and happy moment with us through his spontaneous and slightly crazy way of being.

An amazing experience - we bought some groceries with Johannes, and then we prepared pan y tomato, tortilla, pate of butter squash, paella, and crema catalana. It was very instructive and felt very welcomed and inspired! Thank you!
Domiziana R — Google review
My birthday in Barcelona was spent in the kitchen with Juan and our ‘family’ From the trip to the local market, where we met with local vendors, to the preparation, cooking and finally eating our meal, our day was filled with laughter, fun and incredible tastes! Juan’s guidance and instruction resulted in one of the best meals ever! We can highly recommend this excellent activity. A must do for an authentic Barcelona experience. Thank you, Juan and Barcelona Cooking for a perfect celebration.
Patti L — Google review
We were here 10 years ago and came back with friends we were traveling with. Such a fun time! Our cooking class instructor, Johannes was awesome! We started out with a tour of La Boqueria where we bought the chicken for our paella, sampled some jamon and some torrons. Upon returning to the school we made gazpacho, pan con tomate, tortilla Española, chicken paella and crema Catalan all paired with some delicious Spanish wines. We were a large group of 12 but Johannes did an excellent job ensuring everyone had a turn at cooking our meal. We highly recommend Barcelona Cooking for a delightful culinary experience!

Immerse yourself in the Barcelona culinary scene at Born to Cook Barcelona, located in a charming medieval palace in the Born district. This cooking experience offers a variety of activities, workshops, and classes led by passionate chefs. With a focus on diverse cuisines from around the world, native chefs bring their expertise to provide unique cooking experiences for both locals and visitors. From traditional dishes to creative tapas, participants can learn and savor the nuances of Spanish cuisine while enjoying a glass of wine.
Our group of 39 adults and children enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Steven, Alex and Nuria at Born to Cook Barcelona. Katja assisted us with booking the activity, and took a lot of time to accommodate our food allergies and customizations of the activity. She was easy to correspond with and prompt with replies. Steven, Alex and Nuria met us at Santa Caterina Market, where our group split up and toured the market, learning about the various products carried by the vendors. We even brought home some snacks to sample back at the Cooking School. Back at the cooking school, we divided into 4 groups and engaged in a Master Chef style competition preparing pinxtos. The hosts were lively and engaging, keeping our kids and the adults in the group entertained and occupied. The group voted that hands down this is the best and most fun activity we have ever done on vacation together, quite a tall order. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Had the pleasure of learning to cook Paella with the Swisslog group last week. Our hosts were expertly knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. Special shout out to Robert who looked after our team, I've been practising the onion cutting technique you showed us at home.
Chris H — Google review
My family of four had an amazing experience with Robert and Pilar at Born to Cook Barcelona! He was so good at explaining everything and he gave extra information outside of cooking about Barcelona and Catalonia. My kids are only 3 and 1 and he was involve them in so much of the experience. The food came out delicious!
Justice G — Google review
Our tour group went here and it was fantastic! The staff had appetizers and drinks ready to go when we arrived. Then our group worked together to prepare the ingredients and cook paella. Of course, we stayed to eat the finished product and it was delicious! The staff is incredibly attentive and instructive. I learned so much in the cooking class. This was one of the highlights of our entire tour!

What an INCREDIBLE experience to make DELICIOUS paella with such a fun teaching team, led by the owner Alex. I have been to several paella teaching courses in the US, but this one blew those ones out of the water. We were greeted with wine and three appetizers to enjoy before we went to work and made our paella. We got practical pro-tips throughout the entire process (the onion carmelization process, how to tell if the rice is done by pinching it etc). We also ended up “branding” our delicious desserts. I highly recommend Born to Cook to anyone interested in learning about cooking Spanish cuisine in Barcelona.
Yoda G — Google review
We did a team-building event with Born to Cook Barcelona, and it was such a great experience! Our international team had a lot of fun cooking Spanish and Catalan dishes together, we made two paellas, gazpacho, patatas bravas, and crema catalana. Everything turned out delicious, and the ingredients were really good quality. Robert, our chef, was amazing - super friendly, fun, and made everyone feel comfortable. We learned a lot but also laughed a ton. The space is big and perfect for groups. I’d definitely recommend this place for team events or just a fun cooking experience while in Barcelona!
Justyna Z — Google review
Our company, JAGGAER, organized a business event with Born to Cook, and it was an absolutely amazing experience for everyone! They hosted our large group of around 40 people with such professionalism and warmth. The chefs guiding us were fantastic: engaging, fun, and incredibly skilled, making the whole cooking experience enjoyable and collaborative. It turned out to be one of the best team-bonding activities we’ve ever done: great energy, lots of laughter, and delicious meals that we prepared ourselves with the wonderful support of the Born to Cook team. We wholeheartedly recommend Born to Cook, and if we ever organize another event in Barcelona, this will definitely be our go-to place!
Александра Р — Google review
Been there with my working colleagues for a team building evening. We were divided in 4 different teams, with one main “Chef” each of the teams, who were responsible for cooking from the scratch 4 different dishes. The experience was awesome. Aside from working in different roles with my colleagues we learnt how to cook better and great dishes. The staff were super friendly and engaging with us all the time. Super recommended.

Gastronomic Arts Barcelona (GAB) offers a highly acclaimed paella making class in the heart of the city. The workshop, which has received top ratings on various platforms, provides three hours of immersive culinary experience. Participants have praised the friendly and knowledgeable chef, as well as the delicious sangria, paella, and cake. Despite a group setting, there is ample opportunity for interaction and getting to know fellow food enthusiasts.
What an amazing night out in Barcelona! I am solo traveling for this part of my trip and wanted to experience authentic Spanish cooking. I booked this experience and it was worth every penny and more! I am someone who has dietary restrictions (not gluten or dairy) and they made everything fit for my needs, without having to change much at all! The paella and desserts were already, shockingly, gluten and dairy free. Our guide, Teresa, was amazing. She was a great teacher, very funny, and got to know us. Our sous chef Nestor was a great help and was very funny as well. The seafood paella we made was outstanding, we all got to know each other well, and the location was very intimate and beautiful. It truly was a top-notch experience that I would suggest to anyone!
Mark C — Google review
We had such a great time! The price for the class is fair. The paella is delicious, best we've had this trip! Felt like the whole class was timed perfectly. Not too long. And we were always doing something, too. The experience was really fun, and I highly recommend it! Alberto who gave us the tour and cooked with us was excellent. Eveyrone was able to take part and contribute to the paella. Also, we asked if we could meet with the team nearer to La Boqueria Market instead of the school because my parents were really tired. Someone from the team (Alex) met up with usj ust so we can be guided to the rest of the group at the market. Thank you so much for the great experience!
Maezel C — Google review
My son and I had the best time making paella, sangria and almond cake with GAB LAB. Roberto was an awesome teacher and we really enjoyed going to the market to get our fresh seafood to cook with. Our group was very friendly and we laughed a lot. I highly recommend this class!! The food was a DELICIOUS!!
Karen F — Google review
This experience was so much fun!! I loved the short walk to the market - I didn’t even know it was there before! I wish there was a little more time to explore it but loved learning how to choose the best seafood. Bibi did a fantastic job teaching us how to clean and prep the seafood. I loved how we all worked together on the same dish. The group became fast friends. Sangria and tapas were delicious, as was the cake for dessert. I would highly recommend this experience!
Theresa H — Google review
We did the cooking class on our honeymoon and we enjoyed it! Hugo was amazing, very welcoming and kept the whole experience fun and engaging! It was hands on with cooking, including preparing the seafood. They were accommodating with our preferences which is great. The Paella was delicious and the dessert as well! Can’t believe we made that together :) thank you Hugo & Simone!
Lydia — Google review
Best night in Barcelona. Maria was incredible and the class was so much fun. The paella and sangria were AMAZING. And we met the most awesome group of people. A must do when you’re visiting this beautiful city.
Al E — Google review
Great class! I connected with the chef and other guests in a very short time. The preparation was fun, the company was interesting, the food was just AMAZING. Oh, and we made sangria, too. This was a top-notch experience! I will caution you that I found the location to be very difficult to locate. Walking around for an hour ended up tweaking my back. Not fun
Doc L — Google review
A highlight of our stay in Barcelona, our family enjoyed the full experience. This was so much more than a “cooking class” led by our instructor and his assistant. It was a lesson in culture, food, social norms and local cuisine among new friends. My only regret is that we did not schedule this sooner in our trip. They were very accommodating regarding food sensitivities. Highly recommended without reservation!

Nestled in the vibrant El Raval neighborhood of Barcelona, The Paella Club offers an authentic culinary experience that celebrates the art of paella making. As you step into this charming venue, you're greeted with a refreshing glass of cava, setting the tone for an enjoyable cooking class. Led by two passionate hosts named Alex—one as your friendly guide and the other as a skilled chef—you'll embark on a delightful journey to master Spain's iconic dish.
An unforgettable experience at Paella Club in Barcelona! Our team had an absolutely amazing time. From start to finish, the service was exceptional and the hosts were so warm, fun, and welcoming. The atmosphere was vibrant, relaxed, and full of laughter—just perfect for a team activity. The cooking instructions were super clear and easy to follow, and every single one of us ended up with a delicious paella we were proud of. The whole experience was both fun and informative—truly top-tier. We’ll definitely be back, and we’re already recommending it to friends and colleagues. Thank you for such a memorable evening! - London Team

What a wonderful cooking class experience! From the moment we walked in, The Paella Club swept us off our feet and into the heart of Spain. It was entertaining, educational, and delicious—and let’s not forget, your wine glass is never empty (a true Spanish miracle!). My family and I had the joy of cooking and tasting five different paellas, each one bursting with flavor and soul. We were each assigned a paella to prepare, then sat down family-style to share in the full spread—paired with delicious treats like gazpacho, pan con tomate, and yes… more wine. It wasn’t just a cooking class—it was a celebration of food, culture, and connection. The energy of the hosts, the music, the laughter—it all made for such a vibrant and unforgettable evening. If you’re in Barcelona and want to do something truly special, this is it. I can’t recommend The Paella Club enough. ¡Olé!

It was amazing and fun fun fun. Made wonderful paella and new friends. Everyone with The Paella Club was so nice and knowledgeable. They really helped you learn how to put a quality product. You left there knowing I can make this at home (lol). Recommend 100%. Went with my daughter and we will go again..
Lisa F — Google review
One of our top memories in Barcelona! My husband was a little hesitant at the idea of a cooking class but agreed to go because of my enthusiasm. We both had a fantastic time!! The place itself is very cool and the people there couldn't have been more fun and knowledgeable, making the night both a learning experience as well as just a cool night out. They made the whole experience a great time (the wine helped too)! There was about 16 people there total so we got to make 4 different kinds of paella, all of which were delicious and they sent us the recipes via email to try again at home. I'd highly recommend!!
Lisa H — Google review
Wow, wow, wow! This class exceeded our expectations! 10/10 recommend for anyone coming to Barcelona. Kevin, Valentina, and the other gentleman (sorry I didn’t get his name) were amazing hosts. The class is lively, entertaining, and food is amazing! #1 rule- TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE PAELLA CLUB!
Justin D — Google review
Had a wonderful experience at the Paella club with my daughter. We booked a 2pm appetizer experience and it was 2.5 hours of fun! My daughter really enjoyed how interactive the chefs were with us. All the ingredients are provided and prepared for you to use. Be prepared to drink a good amount of Cava as well! Such a great experience, I would do it again.

BCN Kitchen offers an amazing cooking experience where visitors can learn to cook Spanish dishes in a fun and interactive environment. The classes are designed for both individuals and groups, making it a great opportunity to meet new people while mastering the art of creating tapas, paella, and desserts. The chef is highly skilled and fluent in English, ensuring that everyone can follow along with ease.
We just loved the experience. It's a great place to have team building activities, and that's why we went there. It's must be in your to-do list if you wanna enjoy cooking with your friends and family.

We recently took a cooking class at BCN Kitchen and it was fantastic! As part of a Rick Steve's Tour of Spain, we had a group of 24 folks and we were divided into two groups- one group made tapa's while the other group focused on making paella and dessert. Everyone had a job and it was a great way to get to meet new people AND learn how to cook Spanish dishes. And to top it off the meal was really good! I would definitely recommend bcnKITCHEN for travelers looking to learn how to cook something different.
Jason Y — Google review
So much fun to cook some local foods. The chef was amazing. And spoke very good English, they were able to match our energy and joked around with us. Would 100% recommend a class with them and come back the next time in Barcelona!

Since I am italian I can proudly say that I had an Amazing Experience "Pasta Fresca" with a great Chef! The Chef was extremely friendly, the environment was clean and prepared to have the class, the space is bright and comfortable. They made us feel home with some wine. It is worth the price. I will do another course with my friend! Highly recommended !

Putting the paella into an oven is an unforgivable sin. The cooking recipe and execution super bad, but I give the stars because of the free alcohol for the team building activity.
Alfonso N — Google review
Excellent cooking class! While the paella class was in Spanish we managed to understand everything and had a great time. The chef tought the group about the techniques, ingredients, focusing on things that you can later apply at home with your own cooking. The food turned out to be delicious. Highly recommend!

Mercat de la Boqueria is a renowned indoor public market located off La Ramblas boulevard in Barcelona. It is the largest and most iconic food market in the city, offering a bustling space filled with stalls selling a variety of local delights. Visitors can explore the maze-like market and indulge in fresh fruit, seafood, meats, and tapas treats. The vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings make it a must-see destination for food lovers and an integral part of Barcelona's market culture.
Very popular and busy market. Here you find great quality of meats, seafood, fruits and vegetable. There are plenty of food stalls to choose from. Quality here is top notch but equally the prices are fairly high for most products. The ready to eat fruits are absolutely delicious as well as the Iberico ham and fresh seafood. Definitely give the paella here a try as well. At the backside of the market is a small square where you can find few spots to sit and enjoy your food.

Such a fun and lively market! You can find all kinds of food here fresh fruit, juices, snacks, and tapas. I tried the strawberries with Nutella which is quite safe and they were delicious! The caramelized peanuts were also amazing. I wouldn’t really recommend the empanadas though they tasted a bit old. But overall, it’s a great place to wander around and you’ll definitely find something tasty to try!

Stopped by the Mercado and there were so many amazing options it was hard to choose where to eat. We ended up at this spot, and overall it was really good — great vibe, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. The only miss for me was the patatas bravas — not my favorite — but everything else hit the spot. Perfect place to grab a bite while exploring the market!

What an experience with all the colours, smells and impressions in such density. More on my experience in 3 detailed comments: #1 variety This is huge - at least on the first glance. I’ve walked through most corridors and saw a repetition of products just presented slightly differently. Mostly fish, fruits, bakery, sweets. #2 quality That really depends on the seller. We had dragon fruit and pomegranate seeds which were both rather tasteless. So watch out for the fruits. The bocadillos we had form the big place right in the middle were so good we came back to this stand 3 days in a row. #3 overall experience In parts overwhelming yet definitely worth a visit. #4 bonus tip The access through the back door entrance from Carrer del Carme is much easier because it’s less crowded. Fun fact: By the time I did this review (Oct. 2025) this market at about 25.000 reviews on google maps more than the Brandenburger Gate. It’s a bit absurd and bizarre that food attracts more comments than a historical monument.
Thilo B — Google review
An interesting market with ready made seafood, tacos, tapas, paella, juices, fresh fruits, nuts and dried fruits. Also have raw meats and beef. Many people are trying food and drinks enjoying the products. Most of the nuts and dried fruits stalls offer samples when you walked by. Despite the vibrant color and varieties, we are skeptical to try. Juices and dried fruits color are so vibrant suggesting food colouring might be used. Given the summer temperature the cooked food are all pre-packed and placed in room temperature counter, not really feel very hygienic for bacterial growth. Worth a visit however we did not buy anything from there.

Great selection of local food. Not everything on the best price but it’s all at the same place. Visited around 10 am Monday. Place was not crowded. All stalls were open. Pay extra care to your belongings.. but nothing happened to us. Recommend to see in Barcelona.

During our Viking Cruise, we had the opportunity to take a wonderful cooking class with your Chef Mark on December 1, 2024. The class was held in an ornate building tucked away from the busy streets of the Gothic Quarter. We were warmly greeted by Chef Mark who was prepping the recipe items for our group of 4. The dishes he taught us to prepare were so delicious and included salad, rustic bread, cod bites, asparagus, beef, Creme Catalana (Brulee) and the best sauce I've ever tasted - Catalonia Sauce. I learned new cooking techniques and a love of Catalonian food which I brought home to the U.S. This class was the highlight of our trip and I hope to return again! Don't miss this gem in your travels! Thank you Chef Mark and Canela Fina!

Great team building event where we had the opportunity to work together and create some delicious food to share as a team. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone who has even a mild interest in cooking. Only suggestion would be to make a "take-away" available for participants. Even if it's just a summary of the recipes (in card form) or leaving with your own apron. (Of course, cost of an apron would be included as part of the event but it leaves participants with something to look back on and enjoy fond memories.) Lots of fun!

We had a tapas workshop with the family combined with a good presentation of the local shopping market. It was possible to adjust the tapas menu to our preferred choice. The surroundings are great and the chef responsible for the cooking experience presented us with good tips and details regarding the preparation of the food. We had some decent local wines recommended that were a good fit together with the tapas. The visit to the market is also recommended. It is far more relax compared to visiting an overcrowded market and we received some good tips regarding how to spot a good jambon dring the visit to the market.

Very nice experience, the staff was very kind too! I was a bit nervous to do the tapas workshop as I suck at cooking but the explanations and recipes were simple and clear enough. I do not eat meat/fish so they adjusted the menu: I've been able to enjoy the meals just like the others.

We organized a Team Building event after a full day of work for 11 people. We had an amazing experience ! The Canela Fina team guided us and it ended being a very nice cooking session while we were drinking wine and chatting. No stress, we learnt new cooking tricks, and the food was delicious !! We were really proud of our work. In addition the place and decoration were modern and like the place you see on Pinterest to get deco inspirations. I recommend this experience for private or personal event !

Espaisucre is a unique culinary gem nestled in Barcelona, renowned for being the world's only restaurant dedicated entirely to desserts. This delightful establishment not only serves an array of exquisite sweet creations but also functions as a training ground for aspiring chefs from a local culinary school. Each month, students craft innovative dessert menus that showcase their skills and creativity.
I am amazed at how this establishment maintains its high level. I visit them with a certain regularity and every time the menu is well designed, refined, gourmand. Congratulations on the two new menu options, they function really well, too. The service is also very friendly. The price / quality ratio is unbeatable.

Brilliant. A great idea to have 5 dessert plates ( plus the small tapas). Some classic ingredients mixed with oddball stuff (eg. Parsnip). Ten on ten. Looking forwards to going back.

Super fun experience. Risky desserts where they bring flavors to the extreme!
Malou — Google review
Excellent and original To be honest, when I booked it, the idea I had in mind had nothing to do with the reality. Espaisucre is a high cuisine school. Some days (nowadays, two meals a week) they open to customers for lunch and dinner. We had the Chocoaddict Valhrhona set menu, and it is made of 3 salty tapas, 5 desserts and 3 sweet tapas. The common point is the use of chocolate, but you aren't eating just desserts. You're eating a full menu, with a variety of ingredients, well combined and with a common point. Mireia was our maitre, and she did an awesome job, guiding us through all the dishes. If you are looking for something different in the fine dining scene, Espaisucre is jus gorgeous. The price is very reasonable. Just bear in mind a few things: You'll be sharing the table with other people (13 people in total in our case). You can book the menu with drinks. If you do so, your food will be marinated with some drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). If you don't, you'll be drinking water (which is also fine).
David C — Google review
Every single dish we had was good or great. The service was great and the server explained the wine pairings for each dish (tasting menu) and they were spot on. It was also well lit so taking pictures of the food was easy. Only thing that could be improved was the seating, which tended to keep you a bit too warm in Barcelona's summer evening. Should be noted the dishes aren't just desserts. For example we had "Octopus with dewlap, red fruits, melon and mint" and "Iberian pork rib with coffee and celery". So no need to eat anything before you attend the restaurant.

Exquisite dining, we ordered the two "Menú de degustación". Chef and Staff were very welcoming. Incredible desserts but also good entrées and main dish! The 6 wines we tried perfectly matched our meal. 5 star!

Oh my god ! Went for my bday and had such a good time! We tried the bigger menu of desserts, it was two of us and it was just perfect portion. It was sooo delicious! Always well explained what is what. Our favourite was the basil paste and basil ice-cream. Our buds were screaming for more! Next time wanna try the chocolate menu ;)

Paella Maestro: Cooking Class is an immersive experience that takes you through the entire process of creating authentic Spanish dishes. The class begins with a visit to an outdoor market where you learn how to select the freshest ingredients for your meal. Led by a knowledgeable host, you'll then return to start preparing tapas, sangria, and seafood paella. The instructor, Eladi, is praised for his warm hospitality and detailed explanations throughout the class.
My friend and I went to the class on 04/01. We had a lovely time. Our host explained the history behind paella which set the scene, went on to be interactive by allowing us to learn new techniques when making tapas, showing us how the Spanish do things and allowing us to create the most scrumptious paella!
Toyin A — Google review
Don't search for another "paella class" in Barcelona - this is the one to do. Our host Eladi was truly a charismatic and knowledgable gentleman who made the cooking class feel hands on, but you do just enough work to also relax and enjoy some down time in between certain steps. We chopped our own ingredients (vegetables) while all seafood was prepared ready for us which made it feel relatively clean and quick to prep. We even made our own sangria to enjoy with the sangria - however while it was chilling Eladi served us delicious white wine we enjoyed with a porrón and lots of laughs! During this experience we learned about the history, styles, and meaning behind paella. With acoustic music playing in the background, we sizzled onions, cooked shrimps, stirred broths and herbs and had a wonderful experience overall. Eladi particularly made the experience stand out. I did this with my best friend, but would recommend for large groups too!
Carlos H — Google review
Eladi was a such a wonderful instructor! We got a tour of the mercato next to the cooking studio, where we got to learn about the different ingredients that can go into paella. He also taught us about the culture and history behind making paella, which made us appreciate the dish even more! Attending this class is a must! It made us understand and cherish the Spanish culture of sharing food with loved ones and we will be sure to make some paella for our loved ones back at home! Thank you Eladi for the wonderful lesson! - Christina and Chelsea

Well guys, truth to be told, I am glad I came here. Far from those touristic places, really authentic market and the cooking class top! So many cooking tips from a local that comes from a farm… And based on “one bite everyone knows the rule”: 8.7/10 that crunchy at the bottom of the paella is key to learn ! No BS; you get your shit together and want to leave Spain with a paellera in your luggage

It is rare to find an experience as rewarding and inspiring as dinner with Victor And Kiira. The food was fantastic, and their apartment was well appointed, but it was our hosts themselves that made the night. Kirra Is from Finland and Victor from Venezuela. The stories of cultural incongruity the love between them and the love they have for each others family’s was an inspiration. They had no end of stories and each was funny, optimistic and celebrated life. Their interest in my stories and my family was surprising and squarely placed them among the best hosts we have ever had the pleasure of dining with. Hotel Santa Marta is a cozy lodging option with warmly decorated rooms and a lobby lounge. It's located between the Born district and the Barceloneta fishermen quarter, making it convenient for exploring the old town and bringing pets along. The hotel offers correct service with clean rooms, free WiFi, and private parking.
This hotel is in a quiet area, but it's also just 1 block from a lively area and short distance to many restaurants, so it's a great combination. Our room was a reasonable size by European standards but a bit small compared to hotel rooms in Canada or US. Very clean. Breakfast in the basement is very nice, clean, plenty of food to choose from.

We stayed here in July 2025 for a friends holiday. The room was lovely and clean and serviced daily, the standard rooms are very small for two people but we were only using it to sleep in. Great location right in the centre of everything. Quiet area away from anything else on a back street. Shops, restaurants and bars just a couple of minutes away and the harbour and beach is about a 10/15 minute walk. We had a lovely stay using Hotel Santa Marta as our base to explore this beautiful city.

We had a nice stay at the Santa Marta. The staff were very pleasant and helpful at check in and check out. The room, although a little small was very clean. The twin beds were comfortable, although if you sat up in the bed to read, they tended to push away from the wall. I was disappointed that there was no coffee or tea in the room, this is a standard in most hotels I've visited. The bathroom was well appointed and clean and the shower was decent. Location was fantastic, a two minute walk from a major train station and from the Barcelonetta metro stop. Easy walk to the beach as well as to El Born, the Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas.

The hotel is very clean, everything was in order, the location is perfect if you want to be near the Gothic area, near El Born and near Barceloneta, there is a train station and metro station also very closed, some cafe, restaurants and super market really closed and in 10-15 minutes you can be in the centre. JUST ROYAL BCN is a unique cooking center located in a baroque building that offers classes in regional Spanish cuisine, as well as neighborhood and market tours. It's an ideal choice for event organizers looking to accommodate groups of 30 or more. The experience includes cooking classes followed by dining on an imperial table, providing a truly immersive culinary experience. Additionally, the center offers private food tours for foodies, where participants can enjoy delicious meals while learning about Barcelona's culinary habits and history.
My friend Leslie and I had the pleasure of attending one of your cooking classes in Barcelona last week, and could not stop talking about what an incredible experience it was. The passion for cooking and the way chef Claudia brought Spanish cuisine to life made the class unforgettable — not to mention how delicious everything was! we’re eager to try making it at home and impress our friends with what we learned. Claudia was so much fun, flavorful, and created a memorable experience. We truly appreciated her warmth, expertise, and humor throughout the class.

Claudia was so much fun and had a great attitude even though our group was full of chaos. It was a very interactive class and everyone got to take part in something new, fun, and different in the kitchen. Great for people who have never cooked before! It was also informative in terms of tapas of the region and how to shop in the Boqueria Market. I definitely recommend this tour!

The 4 hours flew by and I would recommend this company for cooking classes to anyone looking for a unique social and learning experience in Barcelona.

This was somewhat of a last minute decision. I was looking for something to do on a short visit to Barcelona and happened across the Just Royal class. It fit my time and interests so I jumped in. It also helped that I was staying about a 3-4 minute walk away. I was in a small group, which also helped. The space was ample for 3 though I realize it can accommodate quite a few more. It is set up well with nice views of the plaza below. Claudia, the instructor, had everything ready, mise en place, but began with a tour of a local market about a 5 minute walk away. It was just a tour though. I had expected that we'd be making some purchases for the meal but we did not, so I went back the following day to enjoy the sights and pick up a few things on my own. The instructions for the Catalan créme, seafood paella, and Spanish tortilla were well presented, prep was smooth, the cooking went along without a hitch. We had a nice dinner and then left a little before our 4-hr window. Since the meal was preceded by a selection of representative tapas, no one was hungry. I can recommend the class without any reservations.

At Enjoy Cooking Barcelona with Coquus, culinary enthusiasts can dive into a delightful cooking experience led by the talented David Lienas. With over a decade of expertise from his time at Bellart school, David offers classes that celebrate both traditional Mediterranean dishes like tapas and rice, as well as exciting Southeast Asian cuisine including sushi. Participants rave about the engaging atmosphere he creates; whether it's for a special occasion or just a fun outing with friends, everyone feels welcomed and included.
An authentic personalized amazing experience. We decided as a family to try a cooking class to make some memories. We met David outside our hotel and went the local market. He showed us some of the most interesting foods and how to pick the freshest of seafood and we tried so many samples of different fruits and cured meats. They all knew him there a a local well known established chef. We bought everything and went back to his cooking school. It was absolutely beautiful and spotless, but first we stopped to pick up wine and again a pleasant surprise at his great recommendations. He explained the whole process and then we got to cooking it ourselves. But not only the main paella, but also dessert and these really cool gourmet chocolate treats as well. He was not only an outstanding chef ( worked at 7- Portes for years) but an excellent teacher. His explanations of the origin and process of the cooking was so interesting. It was an outstanding experience that we were so happy we all did. He was so personable, patient and spoke excellent English. We all agreed tat this was a top highlight of our trip. Thank you Chef David for the memories and excellent food. We will be back!

We had an amazing time at the paella cooking class with Chef David! It was the perfect mix of fun, learning, and team bonding — everyone on our team absolutely loved it. David created such a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, and the food turned out delicious. He also helped us out when our other reservation didn’t work out, so huge thanks for making it happen. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and memorable team-building experience!

We were 6 friends visiting Barcelona for a milestone birthday and had the best cooking class at Cooking Barcelona BCN. David was amazing and gave us an experience of a lifetime! He was engaging, personable, and really cared to deliver a fun and interactive cooking session. He was so helpful in scheduling the class and catered to our specific group’s needs. He was welcoming in accommodating some dietary restrictions which enabled everyone to participate and enjoy the most delicious meal!!! We learned how to make 2 different Paella’s, Fish & Seafood and Vegetarian. We had a little Paella contest which made it even more fun! Both were made with top quality ingredients and were mouthwatering delicious! Traditional Catalan Cream dessert was also outstanding!!!yWe enjoyed every bite along with the wine that we had through the class. Fabulous time was had by all and would highly recommend this cooking school when visiting Barcelona or even if you live in Barcelona and want a great time and learn how to create a special meal! Thank you David for making it so special for us! We really appreciated all your effort and passion in providing a most memorable experience!!!!

We had the best time! David was so helpful and patient with us - keeping everything under control with 14 people is not easy but he did it and on top of that with a smile on his face! We enjoyed cooking and eating the food :p Great place for birthdays or private events, would definitely recommend it to friends!

Wow, what an incredible experience! John was absolutely fantastic. I went with two colleagues/friends for a team bonding activity, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. John is not only a wonderful teacher but also a brilliant magician—his tricks left us completely amazed! The atmosphere, the cocktails, the learning experience—every detail was thoughtfully curated and truly memorable. We all left feeling so happy, inspired, and grateful to have been part of something so unique. Highly, highly recommend this experience. Thank you so much, John!

Best cocktail class i have ever done!!! Came for a hen do with 6 girls, 5 drinking and 1 not. Very accommodating to the 1 non drinker. Brilliant experience, john was very knowledgeable and engaging! Great creative and interactive experience! 10 out of 10 would recommend and do again!!!

We had an incredible time at John’s cocktail-making class. Here is what you can expect if you book this experience: John greeted us with a glass of sparkling wine and we made introductions before moving to the downstairs “workshop” where he showed us how to make three distinct and unique cocktails, while explaining the basics of cocktail-making and the history of the ingredients and origin of the drinks. He performed card tricks and other acts of prestidigitation which were executed at a professional level. Really impressive stuff. The experience lasted over two hours and was thoughtfully planned by a host who genuinely wanted his guests to have a great time. This was one of the highlights of our time in Barcelona and you shouldn’t hesitate to book it. Worth every penny and then some. Thanks John!

Had an amazing evening here during my bachelor party. Jon was a great entertainer and really into us having a great time. The cocktail recipes were special but not too fancy for first-timers to make. The group was good as well and we spent a long time chatting. 10 out of 5, can only recommend and would do again!

Had the pleasure of attending the Sacsejar cocktail class and it was an amazing experience!! John was more than we could ask for as a host. His cocktail making expertise had us curate drinks we would have never imagined. The experience was backed by knowledge, history, as well as a creative journey. If you want a hands on experience that includes connection, laughter and an exciting environment while making cocktails I definitely suggest booking this class. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in Barcelona!

(Translated by Google) It was a horrible experience. Starting with the staff, the guy who gave us the keys was unprofessional and rude. He seemed to be making fun of us because he was laughing while talking to us. The apartment wasn't clean, and we actually found cockroaches. We were only given one towel each for a three-day stay. We paid almost €1,000 for three nights for four people. Furthermore, the apartment is much smaller than it appears in the photos shared on the website. The toilet paper had been used by others, so it wasn't new. There was nothing to shower with: shower gel, shampoo, or conditioner. One bed frame was broken, so my friend fell and hurt herself, and she was scared. The two single beds are very small and old; the frames moved when she sat down. We found bags of candy under the bed, so the apartment hadn't been cleaned. Continuing with the topic of poor cleanliness, when we arrived we ate some breadsticks in the kitchen, but we had to throw away the whole package (which we paid for, and quite a bit) because insects got into it. The building where the apartment is located was dirty and smelled awful. We saw dead cockroaches in the doorway. As if that weren't enough, despite the nearby bus stops, we didn't like the neighborhood; it was dirty, unsafe, and far from the city center.
