Tapas bar
La Cova Fumada is a family-run eatery established in 1944, located in the Barceloneta district of Barcelona. This laid-back bar and cafe offers traditional tapas and is known for inventing the famous La Bomba, a potato croquette with aioli and spicy sauce. The menu features hearty lunch specialties such as stewed garbanzos, 'capipota', and salted cod.
Really nice small hole in the wall fish tapas place! I am not a big fish eater and having this as breakfast was a bit of a scary thought but the misses really wanted to, let’s go! Man I loved it so much great flavours with fresh fish. Feels like eating with a big family! :) We came 1030 no line at all and could het seated straight away.
Tim J — Google review
Food: Probably my favorite seafood tapas spot in Barcelona! Their seafood is so fresh and their flavors are amazing. Their cod with tomato sauce, squid, and artichokes are a must get! The only dish I wasn’t a big fan of was their octopus as it was a bit chewy and I didn’t love the flavor. Service: Don’t expect the most attentive service as they’re pretty busy and things move pretty quickly. However, staff are very nice and welcoming. Atmosphere: Pretty much a hole in the wall and nothing fancy. A few tables inside so I would recommend getting there as early as possible as you may have to wait a pretty long time to get a table. Space is very small so expect tables to be very close together and not a lot of room to pass through when going to the bathroom. More suitable for smaller parties.
Viviana — Google review
We absolutely loved this eatery. Frequented by locals and checked out by intrepid tourists like ourselves. The vibe was welcoming and the food!!!! OMG IT WAS SO GOOD!! The squid, baby mussels are so well done!! So were the sardines and langostines. It was well worth the trip.
Mabel H — Google review
This place is small and simple… but the food was so good. I went with my mom out of our way because I really wanted to try after reading the reviews. We did not regret it! The only downside is the line can be quite long. We arrived during some odd hour before the line starts to build up. We waited for around 20-30 mins to get our table and we shared with a couple. (Not an issue) we then proceed to place the order - would recommended to get your order enough the first round as it takes time for the kitchen to cook as most of the dishes prepare freshly like the calamari, fried sardine and octopus. I would definitely recommend the calamari as we ordered another 1 because it was just soooo nice!
Annie A — Google review
La Cova Fumada is a charming tapas bar in the heart of Barceloneta. I had the grilled squid, which was incredibly fresh and grilled to perfection, and the fried sardines, which were also very fresh and tasty. I also tried the bacalao fritters, they were good, but I felt there wasn’t much cod in them. Overall, a great local spot with a lot of character and delicious seafood.
Đivo Č — Google review
Yep, this spot still writes your order right on the countertop like it’s the 1950s and no one’s watching. Legendary, tiny, and wonderful. We tried the Bomba, created by the grandma. A deep-fried potato ball of glory filled with meat and love. I stayed away from the meat but the bread was delicious. The squid was my favorite. So tender. Flavorful. The chickpeas with cod in tomato sauce was rich and comfort food for the soul, even if you didn’t know your soul needed comforting. Tiny tables, elbow-to-elbow locals, and food that reminds you Spain really knows what it’s doing.
Sara G — Google review
Absolutely delicious food! That’s the place to try authentic local food. Also the atmosphere is very „local” and authentic. Place is quite small therefore it’s often crowded and loud. Sharing a table with someone other is not typical for touristic places, more of local atmosphere. Staff is also very friendly and kind.
Kacper S — Google review
Local atmosphere, not fancy tables or anything but great food. Visited by locals too. Get there early, before noon if possible, it gets really crowded. Great grilled calamari

RESERVA IBÉRICA Jamón iberico is a must-try when visiting Barcelona. This shop offers a premium selection of Spanish cured Iberian ham and other meats, as well as sandwiches with marinated ham served with olive oil and tomato sauce. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, providing an exceptional dining experience. Customers rave about the delicious taste of the ham that melts in your mouth, making it an unforgettable culinary delight.
It was so nice, we ended up buying 2kg worth of jamon to give as gifts. It can be a little pricey, but it's definitely worth the price and the trouble vs what you'll find back home. The ham has a very good balance, and goes very well as an appetizer, as a snack, or just because you feel like it. The team serving us were very nice, friendly, and professional. Everything felt very honest, and systematic. They were patient in walking us through what's what, how it's made, etc. They even let you taste test the jamon on the spot, before you decide.
Flo Y — Google review
This place is a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast. The variety offered here is truly impressive, with a wide range of Iberico cuts and preparations available, each offering a different level of flavor, texture, and richness. Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado or new to Iberico, there’s something here for every palate. With high-quality offerings and expert service, Ibérico Place delivers a memorable and satisfying dining experience that keeps you coming back for more.

Best Jamon in Barcelona to be certain Parents started at la boquaria and the oneer started become a master in tasting and smelling to find the right leg. The service is great and interior also Cheers
Xuanxuan Z — Google review
Reserva Ibérica in Barcelona is a true haven for anyone who appreciates the authentic flavors of Spain. I tried a tasting of Iberian hams—each slice was incredibly flavorful, perfectly aged, and melted in the mouth just as you’d hope from top-quality jamón. The cheese selection was equally impressive, with a well-curated variety that complemented the meats beautifully. The atmosphere is intimate, warm, and full of character. You dine surrounded by hanging hams and shelves of fine wine bottles that give the space a cozy yet refined charm. Every detail feels carefully considered, creating a genuine and inviting experience. Highly recommended for those looking to enjoy exceptional Spanish products in a relaxed and stylish setting right in the heart of Barcelona.
Bruno B — Google review
Really polite employees! We had a tasting plate with 4 different hams, which you can order wine with that goes very well with the ham! Said plate and 3 glasses of white wine were 50€, which we were totally fine with considering the quality of the jamon 😁👌🏼
Aaron M — Google review
Very good spot where you can buy and eat on site or take out. The star product is definitely the iberico ham you have several choices of quality up to premium. You can pick as well derivative products such as sausage or chorizo iberico and side beverage.
Cyril B — Google review
Went there 3 times in 6 days while me and my family stayed in Barcelona. Amazing atmosphere, food and service, definitely my favorite place to eat a jamon ibérico on the trip. Marc and Gines are the best, they are very good in magic tricks, suddenly bottles of cava appeared on the table 😁
Luis B — Google review
Their Iberia ham was top! It melts in your mouth. The best taste ever! The people there were very hospitable. They explained and introduced their products with patience. I recommend!

Tortilla española, a beloved Spanish dish, is widely available and can be enjoyed at any time of day. This simple yet delicious meal comes in various flavors, with options like truffle-infused or served in brioche bread. A new restaurant offering a wide variety of tortilla flavors has gained popularity for its fantastic food and friendly service. Customers can order online and pay either online or at the counter.
I ordered a tortilla burger and a tortilla, it was really good and the staff were very nice !
R — Google review
Had the caramel tortilla with some truffle mayo and sweet potato fries. It was an incredible experience! The tortilla was fabulously juicy and super tasty! I’m glad I went! I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the options.
Toia C — Google review
It was a delicious meal. I highly recommend it. When I went, Max was there. He is a very friendly and cheerful staff member. Thank you!

Nice guy at the till was a great host and gave me a truffle tortilla even though I only asked and paid for a potato onion one. And it was delicious. My girlfriend who I brought it all the way back to the uk for almost cried with happiness when she ate it. So that’s about as much of an endorsement as I can give.
Elia — Google review
Amazing place! The tortillas were super tasty and freshly cooked right in front of us. Pol was really friendly and explained everything great service and atmosphere!
Davit P — Google review
Great food, good vegetarian options. The owner was very helpful by explaining all the options available. The tortillas were very flavorful
Krishna G — Google review
Very friendly Service. You get the Menu translated to english and they explain everything if you want. But more important the Tortilla is fantastic. I had the la balear individuales and enjoyed the combo. The Price is fair. So if you want a typical Spanish Tortilla dont look further. Go here and enjoy

Visitors can explore the maze-like market and indulge in fresh fruit, seafood, meats, and tapas treats. The vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings make it a must-see destination for food lovers and an integral part of Barcelona's market culture.
Very popular and busy market. Here you find great quality of meats, seafood, fruits and vegetable. There are plenty of food stalls to choose from. Quality here is top notch but equally the prices are fairly high for most products. The ready to eat fruits are absolutely delicious as well as the Iberico ham and fresh seafood. Definitely give the paella here a try as well. At the backside of the market is a small square where you can find few spots to sit and enjoy your food.

What a great market! So neat! Delicious food and beverages, friendly people. The juices were my favorite! I tried 4 they were that good! Beautiful presentations in each stand. I’d love to go back.
Sol W — Google review
Such a fun and lively market! You can find all kinds of food here fresh fruit, juices, snacks, and tapas. I tried the strawberries with Nutella which is quite safe and they were delicious! The caramelized peanuts were also amazing. I wouldn’t really recommend the empanadas though they tasted a bit old. But overall, it’s a great place to wander around and you’ll definitely find something tasty to try!
İpek H — Google review
This market offers pretty decent options of local cheese and hammon, fried seafood, fries, chocolate, exotic fruits and lots of fresh/smoothie’s options. It is overcrowded, but that it’s charm. Definitely it is a must visit lace.
Iva N — Google review
We visited Mercat de la Boqueria on a Saturday and lucked out—it was way less crowded than usual thanks to a Barça game happening that day. The market itself is colorful, lively, and full of energy. It’s a great spot to stroll through and taste all kinds of food: fresh juices, jamón, seafood, etc. We tried a bit of everything and loved how easy it was to snack as we walked. Definitely worth checking out and it’s super conveniently located next to the Ramblas
Richard O — Google review
Buzzing with activity. Great for fresh fruit and drinks. Lots of spices and tapas to choose from. Great to soak up the atmosphere and grab a bite to eat whilst walking around at the same time
Stella E — Google review
An interesting market with ready made seafood, tacos, tapas, paella, juices, fresh fruits, nuts and dried fruits. Also have raw meats and beef. Many people are trying food and drinks enjoying the products. Most of the nuts and dried fruits stalls offer samples when you walked by. Despite the vibrant color and varieties, we are skeptical to try. Juices and dried fruits color are so vibrant suggesting food colouring might be used. Given the summer temperature the cooked food are all pre-packed and placed in room temperature counter, not really feel very hygienic for bacterial growth. Worth a visit however we did not buy anything from there.

Cañete is a delightful culinary gem nestled just steps away from the iconic Liceu opera house in Barcelona. This vibrant tapas restaurant boasts a polished ambiance, where guests can savor classic dishes like seafood paella and duck cannelloni while enjoying local wines. The long bar offers an enticing view of the kitchen, leading to an intimate communal tasting table that seats 20.
I visited Canete in September and honestly, everything was amazing—unbelievable quality all around. The food was incredible, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. What really stood out was the staff and the overall atmosphere—friendly, welcoming, and full of life, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend making a reservation, and if you can, sit at the bar—that’s where the real show happens. You get to watch the chefs cook right in front of you and see the waiters interact with everyone, which adds a whole extra level of fun to the meal. Everything was perfect, and I can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely a must-visit! Can’t wait to be back.
Anorah S — Google review
Hands down...one of the top meals of my life. We were in the area, had the restaurant saved from a recommendation, and it did not disappoint. When we arrived...we were told there was a little bit of a wait (maybe 10 minutes?)...were asked if we wanted a drink while we waited (thought we would end up paying for them...the restaurant picked up the tab! A great touch.). We were seated at the bar once two seats became available. Had the best time watching the food be prepared, interacting with our waiter, and just enjoying the atmosphere around us. Onto the food...wow. I can NOT say enough. We picked half a dozen small items to try over the next hour or so...and topped it off with a delicious dessert. The pictures do not do the food justice. We will not forget about this meal. It was an experience. Thank you to everyone at Cañete!
Lyall K — Google review
Amazing food and the servers are very knowledgeable. We managed to get a table 2h after going to the restaurant to leave our names. The food is excellent — you must try their beef and foie gras. It is to die for. The squid sandwich was very yummy too. We tried many top restaurants in barcelona and this was our favourite

This was arguably the best meal I’ve ever had in my life 🙌 Now I’m a food snob who has visited many Michelin restaurants, Canete’s ‘quality-affordability-vibe’ combo made it to the top of my list and was a perfect combo for an amazing night for our group! As soon as you walk in, you’re immersed in a lively atmosphere and packed house. You’ll likely be walked through the kitchen where the magic happens to a side room of tables squished together for an intimate evening. A total of 8 diners helped us try the entire menu and a ton of epic wine. Some highlights and must items to order below: - Aged Beef Steak with Foie & Truffle Sauce is a must and created an orgasm in your mouth! - Suckling Iberian Pig melted in your mouth - Fried cordoba-style aubergines in sugar cane honey — this was a sleeper, did not expect eggplant to be this delicious the way it was prepared! Highly recommend - we reordered 3x Everything on the menu comes small portion and perfect for sharing! Our server was an absolute beauty (see video) and we had a ton of fun with him. Added to the amazing atmosphere and fun vibes of the place. This is a no frills, epic food, fun casual vibe type of joint. Don’t expect comfortable seating with beautiful washrooms. You’ll be nice and tight next to another group of diners, but mark my words you will experience the best meal of your life!!!
Peter M — Google review
This place had such great reviews that perhaps my expectations were set too high. As we arrived, there was even a line of people waiting to enter the establishment. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. Though everything else took quite a long time. Most of the dishes we had didn't feel too special nor did it taste exceptional. My top recommendation is the callos which was really good. I also liked the fried eggplant that was quite sweet. We also had the lobster croquette which I wasn't able to photograph, that was good, too. But the fried shrimp, razor clams, and meatballs were just alright. As we were having lunch, even more people came to make reservations and we were just wondering why. Perhaps we were the ones missing the point of the restaurant? We were seated in a place that was quite cramped since the restaurant is on the smaller side. Food took a bit longer too as we felt the staff were so busy and there were not enough of them for the amount of people dining there. On a good note, my mom who lifted her wine glass had it shatter all of a sudden, and the staff did not charge us. I felt grateful for that.
Maezel C — Google review
The food was excellent! The restaurant was recommended by our tour guide, and she managed to get us a table. At first, we thought it was just a typical tourist recommendation, but it turned out to be really hard to get a table here — and for good reason! The dishes were amazing, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Absolutely worth it and highly recommend!
Haneen H — Google review
We had an incredible time at Cañete. The food, the music, the service, the atmosphere were all top notch. Lena and Ken provided a level of service that was so outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food is just fantastic. The drinks are great too. Highly recommend.
Carlos G — Google review
Everything was soooo good, definitely worth trying. Especially: Oysters were fat, juicy and fresh. I wasn’t the biggest fan of squad sandwiches but this was BANGING, so very delicious. Oxtail was good but I would’ve enjoyed it more if it was served sooner because it’s quite heavy and we had it as our last dish. The octopus salad I recommend as well, very fresh seafood that they offer. Only thing that was a bit disappointing compared to their other dishes was the pan con tomate, it’s not outstanding, the bread was a bit soggy. But other than that very good food. Service was good too, the waiter would make jokes with you which made me felt warm and welcomed. Ps. Jennie from blackpink was there a day before we went, wish I went one day earlier, would’ve made the experience even more special ahah

Tapas bar
Spanish restaurant
Bar Jai-Ca is a family-run tapas bar located in the Barceloneta neighborhood of Barcelona. Since the 1950s, it has been serving up generous portions of fresh fish and seafood, along with salads and meat dishes. The menu features a variety of fried seafood tapas, including squid, anchovies, whitebait, mussels, clams, and grilled razor clams. For those not into seafood, the spicy bomba is a popular choice.
We enjoyed the time here. Spent lunch and dinner on the same day, because it is so great. Good food, excellent service, homemade tapas, special sauce. Prices are really affordable but local tastes. Warmly welcomed by Alex, thank you! Will definitely come back when next visiting Barceloneta.

Niiiiice! Now I smell like seafood... What I got the fried little fishes and the peppers. BOTH WERE DELICIOUS! I like the peppers and the fishes were also great. it was fried crispy enough and the pepper were also cooked very well - though I think they went a little too much on the salt. Environment A rather small space inside. The frying/cooking is in the open I'd say so the smell from the food can stick to you easily. I walked out smelling like the restaurant.... Niceness of the staff Very patient staff while I sit there and decide on what I want to order. There was a lot of the menu and I couldn't decide... so they were very patient. Dollar It was reasonably priced. It was a total of 20 something euro for the 2 dishes and a sparkling water Yes I would recommend but caution people on the after smell...

Good tapas. I liked octopus. Breads were not toasted and little soggy with tomato sauce. Croquettes were delicious but little oily. Calamari was half good half overcooked and chewier than I like.

Jai-ca in Barceloneta is a true gem! The atmosphere is lively and authentic, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the tapas are simply outstanding. Most tapas range between €7–12, with seafood dishes understandably a bit more – and worth every cent. A perfect spot to experience real Barcelona vibes!

A++. Would highly recommend. The food was absolutely delicious! Seafood was so fresh and the tapas were cheap and delicious. We travelled from salou to barcelona before this spot and out of all the food we tried this had taken the crown by miles. The staff were really friendly and accomadating. Highly recommend for anyone looking their moneys worth in quality food!!!!

Calamari was well done but forgettable and not salted quite enough. 7.5/10 Creme de Catalan was great, best I had. 9/10 Tortilla was nice but again quite plain and forgettable. 7/10

Bar La Plata is a charming tapas bar located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. Since its establishment in 1945, this intimate spot has maintained its traditional ambiance and menu, featuring only four classic tapas: vinegar-cured sardines, fried anchovies, tomato salad, and butifarra sausage. The rustic wine served straight from the barrel perfectly complements these delectable dishes.
Cozy tapas spot specializing in 4 dishes. The fried small fish with a plate of onions and tomato’s were a great combo. Their house made vermouth was delicious. Had sweetness and flavor unique to this place. Highly recommend stopping by and trying the various plates.

No frills tapas spot that’s perfect for a quick lunch and a favourite of Anthony Bourdain. Seemingly loved by locals and tourists alike, they offer a short menu of simple specialties that are certain to hit the spot. I had the fried anchovies and tomato bread topped with sausage. The service was excellent and straight to the point. Seating is limited so some choose to stand and eat at the bar. A must visit for anyone traveling to Barcelona.

A tiny but very cosy and authentic place not far from the shore. The place is buzzing with locals having beer or local wine. There are only 4 tapas available (fried anchovies, toast with anchovy, toast with sausage, tomato & onion salad) but all four very tasty, especially the fried anchovies. I highly recommend!

It's a great place. It's a very small and cozy place. Sometimes you have to eat standing up, but it's worth it. The tapas are delicious and very cheap, but the portions are very small. Only local people come. It is not well known to tourists. You can have a quick bite and continue spending time in the old town.

Suppose to be Anthony Bourdain’s favorite place to visit in Barcelona. Just 4 items on the menu so while it’s nothing fancy, the food is really homely and there’s lots of locals dropping by for a quick bite before heading off. Nice place to grab a bite in the gothic quarters before heading out to walk around.

Traditional tapas bar with great and delicious food options. Their vermut is kinda the star, but the service is super good too. There is a butifarra there amazing and the pescaditos(small fried fishes) goes really well with the vermut or the beer

Suru Bar, located near the Mercat del Ninot in Barcelona, is a hidden gem with a minimalist and modern decor. The restaurant offers a unique take on Catalan cuisine by sourcing locally grown ingredients from the market and infusing them with a Japanese twist. The open kitchen with bright red walls and stone tables creates an inviting atmosphere for diners to enjoy their meal.
Food was excellent. A very well executed Catalan and japanese fusion of sorts. Extensive natty wine list and for a restaurant with minimal staff, service was great by Barcelona standards. Restaurant was full and lively, but also managed to have a chill vibe and be easy place to have a conversation. There's a good reason why this restaurant appears on so many " best of" lists. Definitely check them out.

What a special place! We sat at the counter and watched the chefs prepare the food with such attention to detail. Our courses were timed perfectly with an explanation of each course. The sommelier provided a perfect wine pairing, and overall the service was perfect. Eat here, you won't regret it!!!

Suru Bar in Barcelona, located on Carrer de Casanova 134, is a true hidden gem that delivers a remarkable gastronomic experience. Dining here feels like attending a masterfully staged culinary theater, where each dish arrives with precision and flair, bursting with flavor and creativity. The wine selection is outstanding, and the sommelier personally comes to the table to share thoughtful insights and recommendations, enriching the experience even further. The service is warm and attentive—especially the kind and welcoming waitresses who make you feel right at home. The interior design strikes a perfect balance between beauty and simplicity, with tasteful colors and a cozy atmosphere. The chairs are especially comfortable, inviting you to linger and enjoy an unhurried sobremesa. A must-visit in Barcelona.

Cute restaurant with various creative / Asian fusion dishes. The Yakitoris stood out and were so delicious that we ordered seconds. Overall the food was great but I think the desserts were a little lacking. Great atmosphere as well.
Susie S — Google review
Great dinner! I went by myself and was accommodated by half portions of the menu which was great so I got to try a total of about 7 dishes. While presentation is pretty unassuming, the flavors were deep and sharp. The sweetbreads were among the very best due to their crunchy outside with juicy on the inside complimented by Jerez vinagre onions on a bed of coliflor puree. All of the dishes very well seasoned. I felt extremely welcome sitting at the bar.

EXCEPTIONAL food, wine pairing, and service!! Very innovative menu great portions (they were able to offer me 1/3 & 1/2 portions because I was alone) attention to detail is on a different level! I’ve eaten in NYC, SF and Suru is some of the best in comparison! The music selection and interior design is also great. Again insanely good wine selection! Will definitely visit again when I’m back in Barcelona.

This charming restaurant offers an array of delicious dishes that cater to all tastes, from traditional seafood paella to comforting favorites like nachos and chicken nuggets. The atmosphere is vibrant, especially on warm summer days when you can enjoy the music while savoring your meal.
Absolutely fantastic experience at SMYRNA! The paella was hands down the best I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and loaded with fresh ingredients. The sangria was just as impressive: refreshing, balanced, and dangerously easy to drink! The staff were warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole evening feel special. Should have trusted my gut and avoided a place on the main strip to eat. Glad I chose the deal for tapas, as it meant not having an extortionate bill for food that was sub par. The potato bravas were very oily, as were all the other fried dishes. The croqueta were genuinely awful. Tomato bread was just squeezed tomato on bread, and were soggy. On a positive, the female server was lovely, as was the Coca Cola…

La Bombeta is a laid-back and unpretentious eatery in Barceloneta, Barcelona, offering a wide variety of meat and seafood tapas along with refreshing sangria. The restaurant exudes a lively ambiance, attracting both locals and savvy tourists. Embracing traditional Catalan cuisine, La Bombeta encourages communal dining with its shareable dishes. Known for their signature bombas, this classic tapas bar is just minutes away from the beach and provides an authentic culinary experience.
Really good food typical from barcelona. You have to try the “bomba”, which is not that spicy. The service is great and really friendly, and the price quality ratio is great.local people go to that restaurant, so it is not “fast food” for tourist”. for me the best food in barceloneta.

Waiter seemed perturbed at start when he spoke to us and we didn't understand. Regardless, after ordering, the food was brought fresh and timely. Sign said that English is not spoken there so beware. Worth going as the fiid is excellent.

Authentic local gem - Great tapas & Warm service La Bombeta truly feels like a local tavern in the heart of Barceloneta. The atmosphere is unpretentious and full of character it is exactly what you want from a traditional Catalan tapas bar. The food was excellent across the board. The ensaladilla rusa was delicious and refreshing, while the fried mushrooms with butter were perfectly crispy outside and juicy inside it is one of the highlights. The patatas bravas had that perfect combo of creamy and spicy, and the crema catalana was absolutely amazing!!!! crackly top, silky custard, pure comfort. What really made the experience stand out was the friendly service. The staff was kind, attentive, and offered great recommendations, especially since I don’t eat pork. They made me feel welcome and taken care of. Prices are fair for the quality, and it all felt very authentic, like I was dining where locals do, not in a tourist trap. Highly recommend if you’re looking for no-frills, flavorful tapas in a place with real local soul.

I came here to treat myself because the reviews looked great and was disappointed with the food. I don’t think it was worth what you pay. Calamari was dry and the lemon wedge barely had any juice in it. I came late so maybe that’s why the quality dropped. I did really love the grilled mushrooms though.

The food is absolutely delicious. The bomba itself was obviously very tasty as was the aubergine and fried squid. But what really blew me away was the beans with tripe and the cuttlefish and meatballs stew. Unbelievably good! The Crema Catalana was the cherry on the cake. The service was great as well. Bar del Pla is a cozy tapas and wine bar located in the lively El Born neighborhood. It's a favorite spot among locals, offering a relaxed atmosphere and an impressive selection of natural wines. The menu features delicious seasonal small plates such as smoked sardines, squid ink croquettes, and crispy oxtail with foie gras.
Bar Del Pla was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona. I first saw it recommended on social media, and it still managed to exceed all expectations. The first night we couldn’t get a table, but the lovely hostess took our number and made sure we had a spot the next day. She was so warm and welcoming, it already felt like a good sign. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish had its own unique flavor, the presentation was beautiful, and the wine pairing just made it all come together perfectly. You can tell the chef has a real gift for creating something special. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting too, it felt like the kind of place you want to linger. One of the best meals we had on our trip!! The roast beef de picanha absolutely blew my mind. We stumbled upon it at lunchtime around noon, and it was pretty empty, and I had no idea it was such a crowded spot usually. We also got to taste some fun natural wine, and the waitstaff was kind and attentive. Truly outstanding food, and I would travel back to Barcelona just to eat there again.

Bar del Pla is such an interesting spot with a fantastic selection of tapas and wines. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, while the staff bring great energy, enthusiasm, and impressive wine knowledge. We tried an excellent local blend of Syrah, Cabernet, and Merlot that paired beautifully with the food. The standout dish for me was the wasabi mushrooms — truly exceptional and unique. Definitely a place worth visiting if you want to experience great tapas and wine in Barcelona.

An Argentinian artist called Juliette just down the street recommended this place as the best local bar around and she wasn't wrong. Fabulous atmosphere (cosy and young and happy and local) and we got here at 5:30 - 7. Waiting staff fun, chilled, professional and conscientious but not intrusive - it's a bohemian chilled place with amazing sea bass and tapas. And a wonderful range of wines. Whether seated at the bar in pairs people clearly loved this place and were coming back - as we will.

Food: If you like your food to be really flavourful, this is the place for you. Every dish was mind blowing nice, but 3 dishes really stood out: the roast beef, iberico pork & meat balls. This meal is a thorough gastronomical pleasure. Service: We were served by Lupe, she was welcoming, warm & patient. She took pains in explaining each of the tapas dishes to us. When we asked for a certain wine that she wasn’t so sure of, she asked her colleague to assist us. From the interactions, it is clear that they are well-trained and passionate which considerably added to the overall great experience. I’ll come back Barcelona again (15 hour flight) just to eat at this tapas bar!

During our vacation in Barcelona, we had the chance to Lunch at Bar del Pla, and it was without a doubt one of the culinary highlights of our trip. We sampled nearly the entire menu, and each tapa was better than the last — bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and showcasing the best of Catalan cuisine with a creative twist. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the wine — and our fantastic server Gabriel. He guided us through a selection of exceptional natural wines, all from the region, and every recommendation came with a detailed explanation that reflected both deep knowledge and genuine passion. His suggestions paired perfectly with the dishes and made the whole Lunch even more memorable. The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, and the combination of outstanding food, incredible wines, and warm, personalized service made this an unforgettable Lunch. A huge thank you to Gabriel and the team at Bar del Pla! ❤️

Sometimes service makes the difference to excellence and this was the case. Not saying food is not good...actually it is the opposite: I only tasted bravas this time and I can easly say they got in my top 10 in town... But, furthermore, the looks of other tapas was gorgeous, so definitely a place to come back. Still, beyond the food, my only concern eas that I felt I was the only local in the rrstaurant! This was a tuesday night, eight o'clock, and the place was starting to have a line outside...yet only foreigners! I almosy skip it but -here the "service" touch- after chatting a nice maitre -local-, she allowed me in just to taste the bravas: no soberbia, full of simpathy, awesome! I fully recommend this place yet get ready to line up or -much better- book in advance Illustration: bravas for 5,5€ Labels: 2eat. 2drink, #tapas, #authentic, #mustgo

This is truly one of the best spots in Barcelona and such a unique food experience. Here, food really turns into an experience with fast service and flavors that literally explode in your mouth. It’s incredible how they create such quality in such a small space. We went at 6 PM, and there are only three high tables and the bar, no chairs, and you can stay for just one hour—but it’s absolutely worth it. I also visited four years ago and the quality is still exactly the same. Congratulations and thank you!!

This was my favourite restaurant in Barcelona. Thoroughly impressed with their offerings. Everything we ordered was great and I especially love the scallops! The Torta del Cesar with chestnut was a delicious end to the meal. Each one of the sandwiches were thoughtfully curated and everything complemented each other very well. Service was excellent although it can be slow as there was only one waiter taking orders and managing the queue. Definitely don’t miss out and it’s worth waiting in the queue.

Just amazing! Really good place to eat tapas. Gives a nice authentic vibe with the small standing places and all the bottles of good stuff around. The staff is friendly and love to help explore new tastes. If you are lucky you get a spot at the bar where you can see the food get put together with an amazing passion. Highly recommend and come hungry so you can eat a lot!

You have one hour dining time, no seats inside and it’s a standing bar. You place 3 plates with the waiters first, because the table is small, once you’re done you can place the next round. That usually brings the dishes quite quickly. Everything here is from cans, so no hot food. My favourite was the salmon yogurt caviar small sandwich, the shellfish ones were very fishy and I didn’t like that I could taste the ocean. The goose liver with chestnut starter was very yummy as well, they were a match made in heaven, chestnuts and mushrooms neutralises the smell from goose liver.

Berbena is a hidden gem in Barcelona, located above Avenida Diagonal. The restaurant offers home-baked bread, hearty beef stew, Spanish omelet, locally sourced cheese and charcuteries for sharing. It's a popular spot with limited seating due to its excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. The chef's modern take on Catalan cuisine includes Peruvian and Asian influences using locally sourced organic products.
Had an outstanding meal here on my last day in Barcelona 🥲. The staff were all very warm to me as a solo diner. My server (who also plates/preps, seems like they all participate in all roles, which is cool) was kind enough to offer half portions. She explained everything clearly. I was able to occasionally ask questions while they cooked up a storm as I sat at the bar. The owner and head chef also explained some of the ingredients and their stories in detail. All of the dishes tasted very clean with subtle and distinct flavors. My favorite was the oxtail gyoza (I ordered seconds). A close second was the calamari followed by the asparagus. I normally don’t eat bread, but the breads with sides that they recommended were also delicious. All in all, this was probably my favorite meal in Barcelona, not only for the food, but the vibe and warm hospitality. I was lucky enough to get off the waitlist. Would love to come back someday!

I had an unbelievable meal here on my first night in Barcelona — maybe it was the jet lag, maybe it was the beautiful natural wine poured with intention and excitement by the mega-talented sommelier, maybe it was the warm, attentive, and highly skillful service, but mid-way through my meal, perched on my bar seat overlooking the open kitchen, I may have gotten a little bit choked up. I’m not one to write reviews, or gush, but I promised myself I would for this one. My server, Victor, was fantastic and on point with his recommendations, and it was very cool to see everyone working as a team and contributing to plating, service, etc. in the open kitchen. They happily hooked up half portions as I was dining solo, you cannot go wrong here. Put your life in their highly capable hands, if just for one seating, and prepare to be wowed.

We wandered in since we were in the area and I have pinned it in my Maps wanting to try it for over a year and we were lucky enough to get the lovely window seat, it’s a lovely atmosphere that is inviting and casual but still classy. We were a little intimidated by the menu but everyone was very helpful from the somnelier to the headchef as she explained the menu to us - it was honestly so beautiful to see how well they all worked together and how friendly they all were. The gyoza is not to be missed, I loved the scallops and my friend was obsessed with the courgette, the duck was perfect and the olive oil dessert was a literal dream come true. My only regret is not coming with a larger group so we could try more plates, I will definitely be back!

We reserved a table at Berbena during our vacation in Barcelona. The service was amazing, family-restaurant atmosphere and the seasonal menu was varied and very tasty. We had several dishes to share including the bread and sides, grilled squid, oxtail gyoza and zucchini ricotta were highlights. We would definitely want to go back and try the new dishes. The wine selection was also solid.

Unfortunately, I have to say I’m disappointed. It was my first time visiting Berbena with my partner, who had previously had a good experience and was eager for me to try it as well. We ordered four starters and four main courses (half portions), but almost every dish (6/8) was completely lacking in flavor. My partner and I kept exchanging confused looks about it, because we couldn’t understand how every dish was so mid. Adding to the confusion, some dishes were served in chipped bowls. That’s neither visually appealing nor does it make you feel appreciated as a guest. The restaurant itself is a bit chaotic, very narrow seating and hectic service. Also: I was seated with my back to the wall, and condensation from the air conditioner on the ceiling kept dripping onto my neck. When I brought it up, a staff member impatiently tried to wipe it with a stick – only to splash the rest of the water across my shoulders and neck. She saw it. No apology offered. All in all, the experience fell far short of expectations. The food and the service simply didn’t live up to the praise we had read beforehand.

Very delicious, but we definitely had to roll ourselves out the door. If you're a seafood fan (particularly a fish fan), this is the restaurant for you. There were so many amazing courses. In general, we loved the way they elevated and combined the ingredients. Highlights were the desserts and the red prawn cooked in seaweed (which my eating companion called the best prawn he'd ever eaten). The seaweed gin and tonic was also very fun. Thank you for the wonderful time! A very memorable way to start our trip.

What an amazing experience we had at Besta! From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was on phenomenal. We loved the attention to hyper-seasonal ingredients and the thoughtful intention behind each dish. We also enjoyed the wine pairing that perfectly enhanced each course with thoughtful, unique wines. Don't forget to try their hour gin with distilled with seaweed! This meal was one of our favorites in Barcelona and can't wait to come back on our next visit. Don't walk, run to Besta! THANK YOU!!! -Lucas & Devynn

One of the best Food spots in barcelona. The team behind berbena is absolutly amazing, and create a unique expirience. the dishes are full of innovation, flavor and crerativity. you dont know what you will be served until the moment the dish is infront of you. moreover, they have an absolutley incredibkle wine list. They have a no menu philosophy. the food is based around seefood with catalunyan and galician influences. the atmosphere is also immaculate. Nice music, ambient lighting and a beautiful interior. the most memorable dishes were the galician molluscs soup with jalapeños and puffed quinoa, as well as the wish with bownmarrow sauce and the gin they distill inhouse with seaweed and oysters.

Amazing experience at Besta, we did the chefs table and it really was an artistic experience. Flavors were delicious and the chef accommodated my dietary restriction which was really appreciated. Wonderful ambiance and staff, the experience is really worth it. Also compliments to the sommelier as we really enjoyed our wine!

Total disappointment in food. Service, atmosphere and food presentation is top notch. The biggest setback is the excessive saltiness that cover up any other flavour of the dish. We explicitly asked to make the dish less salty after the very first starter, but that still didn’t help. Also, the egg yolk dessert is like fishy oil in whole spoon of caramel. Extremely sweet plus fishy aftertaste made us nearly puke. Bread is unfortunately the only good food.

Best Michelin restaurant I have been to. I was speechless due to the creativity and skill and thought behind the courses. Take the greater amount of courses. It is a show, it is a party of flavors and freshness one wouldn’t realize. Brilliant, that is the right description.

Alapar is a unique Mediterranean izakaya that combines Japanese and local influences to create an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant, located in Barcelona, offers a blend of Japanese tapas and Mediterranean flavors, with the owners personally involved in both the kitchen and dining room. The love and dedication of the owners are evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from its carefully crafted dishes to its cozy ambiance.
An amazing culinary experience in Barcelona during our travels! Alapar is really a ‘must try’ if you’re ever heading to Barcelona. We tried their tasting menu for dinner and it was not disappointing. A menu, well balanced between 7-9 courses with a fusion of Japanese/Spanish elements very well blended. It truly was memorable. The presentation and cutlery are all beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. All the dishes were delicious, bringing out flavours I’ve never tasted before! An art and science, Alapar did not fail to deliver. Wonderful service as well from the team, paying attention to all the customers. Would love to try it again if we are back in Barcelona.

Incredible experience. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend it if you want to have a real immersive dining experience to remember. Also loved that the ingredients were all locally sourced and the chef explained every dish in detail.

Great Japanese tasting menu. They were very innovative without losing taste of sight if you know what I mean. 5 stars because even if a couple dishes were not that great (the noodles or the shrimp heads were not remarkable), there were others that were mind blowing, and very unique. Recommend ordering the big Omakase menu (we ordered small) as it's not super filing (I usually order the small tasting menu these days).
Marc L — Google review
Delicious omakase, with 17 courses. It goes faster and lighter than you think, so if you’re a big eater, go for the larger option. The “smaller” omakase does not come with wine pairing either, as a note. Very nice wine and sake list and options. Not sure if I’d come back, but it was a nice experience.

The Japanese-Mediterranean fusion is executed with such precision that each bite feels like a small revelation. The tuna belly sushi with caviar was pure decadence—silky, rich, perfectly balanced with just the right pop of salt. The brioche bread topped with tuna tartare was an instant favorite: playful, indulgent, and so well composed. And the hamachi sashimi was fresh, delicate, and beautifully cut—showcasing the kind of respect for ingredients you only find in the best sushi bars. Service was warm and knowledgeable, the atmosphere intimate yet unpretentious. It’s the kind of place you want to linger, savor, and then immediately plan your next visit.

I had the privilege of dining at Alapar with my sister during my visit to Barcelona. I had a wonderful experience. We did the omakase Alapar, which had about 19 courses. I found it to be a fun experience, and I was pleased by the subtle and thoughtful ways in which they created a fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine. Our chef worked at a feverish pace, but kindly accommodated us by explaining the dishes to us in English. Because of the noise level, it was a little hard to hear everything he described about each course, but to be fair, he had to speak English to us, then switch over to Spanish for the other couple sitting with us. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a lot of the traditionally East Asian ingredients are also grown in Spain, as I understood it, about 2 hours from the Barcelona area. At one point, the chef showed us a huge wasabi plant up close, which I saw him grinding into a paste when we first sat down. The first 2 courses had tuna and squid on top of a type of bread. It had good mouthfeel and felt like it melted in my mouth. This actually worked really well. Other dishes incorporated Mediterranean flavors by including citrus juice and/or spices like paprika, which also worked well for me. Towards the end of the main courses (by that I mean before dessert), there was a nice transition from cold dishes to warm dishes. The warm dishes included an udon noodle dish that was fun to mix the egg yolk into. I also appreciated that they had non-alcoholic wine, which was nice to pair with the omakase. They even chilled it for me between refills, which was a thoughtful touch. I don't recall or know the details of how they incorporated Mediterranean flavors into the oils and sauces used in the dishes, but it was a great fusion of two types of cuisine. In my experience dining at other restaurants that do fusion, it's actually quite hard to do well. Some places don't blend the cuisines smoothly or creatively to create a new flavor experience. Alapar succeeded greatly in this aspect. Besides the high quality of flavors and fresh fish ingredients, the price point is amazing for what you get. This would cost 2-3x more in the US, where I'm from. Another thing is that the hospitality was great. We had a situation where my dining partner had indigestion resulting from a chronic medical condition, and Alapar kindly accommodated this by fulfilling our request to take home some of the omakase courses. It would totally have been their right to refuse this for quality consistency/reputation purposes, but they respected our wishes. I have to say, the creativity extended to the desserts as well. Wasabi flavor works surprisingly well in ice cream and the ice cream sando with thinly shaved figs on top was reminiscent of ice cream-filled taiyaki, which I am familiar since there is a Korean version of that dessert. I would totally go back to Alapar the next time I am in Barcelona. Shout out to our chef who graciously answered all of our questions about the food and accommodated our indigestion situation, which probably caused some disruption in his work process that was intensely fast because he was preparing for not only our omakase but also other tables. I follow Alapar on Instagram now and look forward to the new ideas for fusion that they come up with.

It’s a hidden gem! The chef was once worked in 2024 Michelins World Best 50 Fine Dining rank # 1 Disfrutar so that’s why some of the dishes we see the shadows of Disfrutar, and there’s a dish we can taste nearly the same of one of the dish from Disfrutar as well! We tried the 95 euro 20 courses and it’s worth the price! Some dishes are just like piece of art. However I think one of the reasons they still didn’t reach a star of Michelin is the services. The server didn’t serve with a heart and they couldn’t handle situation well. They expect you to pass the plate yourself, and screwed up some food when they put on the table, and there’s a plate they served have a few broken edges. And when they explained the dish they just talked and walked at the same time looks like they are in a rush. Besides that, the food itself are wonderful!

(Translated by Google) Unbeatable. We went at midnight to have a drink for a birthday and both Adriana and her sister were a 10. Adri especially attended to us with a tenderness, speed, affection and enthusiasm that I had not seen in years in a bar. Also, with the place packed, they brought out a cake and rang a happy birthday for our friend. For me, good service overshadows everything else, like not being able to get a drink (which is not their fault, but rather the law and wanting to avoid a fine). We will definitely return for a drink. CHARMING. (Original) Inmejorable. Volveremos segurísimo a tomar algo. ENCANTADORAS.

Can Paixano, also known as La Xampanyeria, is a bustling traditional bar located at the border of El Born and La Barceloneta in Barcelona. This popular spot has been around for over 50 years and is run by the Can Paixano wine and Cava producers. The prices are still modest despite its popularity. It's advisable to arrive early to avoid the lively crowds and secure a table.
Never been to such a noisy tapas bar - it was very enjoyable mayhem! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Seemed only to sell cava (various types) and water, but it took was perfect! You need to visit (experience) this place if you're in Barca! Be prepared to wait at peak times ... and to stand throughout - it's worth it! Really nice staff ...

Loved Can Paixano! It’s a bit crazy when you first walk in while you try and figure out how it all works, but we quickly got a spot up at the bar. We asked the team for some recommendations and food appeared just like that. The quality was outstanding. Cava delicious - tried both Rosé and Brut, preferred the brut which was crisp and refreshing where the Rosé was sweeter (and a little too easy to drink). We were here around lunch time and it was busy, but no line to get in.

I went here in the afternoon around 3.30pm. It wasn't crowded when I went probably because of the time I visited. Please note this place does not offer seating. You gotta stand and eat. You can scan the QR code and get the menu in your preferred language. You gotta order at the counter, they have in house cavas, I tried both red and white it was really nice. The staff are friendly. Service is fast. I had the mixed sausage platter and croquettes. Food was yummmm. It was the first time I tried blood sausage / black sausage and I loved it. Overall a great place. If you don't eat pork then this is not the place for you. Do give this place a visit if you are in Barcelona, you won't regret it.

Came here hesitant based on some reviews and the standing only concept, but it was fantastic! The guys are hustling pouring cava and cranking out good eats. We did a bottle of cava which was super cheap and some tapas, all delicious. Standing only was not a problem, the place is so lively and fun. Some reviews stated the workers are rude. We didn't experience that at all. If anything they were very helpful and patient with our limited spanish. They seemed grateful we were trying. It's a fast-paced, noisy place but that's what made it a cool experience. 100% recommend

Once again we were hungry after walking around. Needed to get somewhere quickly to rest our weary feet. This was a few steps from Palau Güell. Due to the possible rain, the al fresco dining was not available. We no ordered chicken croquettes, shrimp, calamari and chicken strips. There was a little misunderstanding with one of our order. The waitress made a funny face and seems to want us to eat what we didn’t order. (Sorry, that was not happening.) Other than that, service was good. An Unforgettable Barcelona Gem: Güell Tapes Restaurant Visiting Barcelona as a non-Spanish speaker, I was a little nervous about finding places where I could feel comfortable, but Güell Tapes Restaurant was an absolute a-ha moment for me. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the ambience—it felt so genuinely warm and inviting. I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say this place is a must-visit. The food was nothing short of a revelation. I ordered the chicken paella and the sirloin cubes with pepper, and they were incredible. My taste buds haven't been this happy in a long time! The flavors were so rich and perfectly balanced, a true culinary delight. To top it off, I had a local Estrella beer that paired perfectly with the meal. What truly made my experience extraordinary, though, was the service. My waitress was an absolute rockstar. Not only was she genuinely helpful, but she also spoke amazing English, which made everything so much easier. She even saved me from ordering too much food by explaining the generous portion sizes, a small detail that I am so incredibly grateful for. Her honesty and kindness are a testament to what great customer service should be. If I were the owner, I'd make sure to keep her with the business forever! I can’t recommend Güell Tapes Restaurant enough. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a blissful, memorable experience that truly makes you appreciate the little things.

Xiringuito Escribà is a renowned Mediterranean seafood restaurant that has been serving delectable dishes since 1992. Founded by Carlos Abellan and Jordi Escriba, this beachfront establishment offers stunning sea views and an open kitchen where guests can watch their meals being prepared. Specializing in paella, the restaurant offers both traditional rice-based paella and fideua, a small noodle dish typical in Catalonia.
A great place to enjoy a meal near the beach and looking at the sea. We were lucky enough to be seated near the entrance. Even though the prices are quite high, the food is worth it. The paellas were truly tasty and had the classic crunchy rice on the bottom and borders. We wouldn’t order the black fideua again, they were good but not as flavorful as the paellas, but both were full of fresh fish. We enjoyed the drinks too, both red wine sangria and white one were not too alcoholic and carried aromatic and spiced flavors. The service was excellent!

Beautiful location overlooking the beach. We were seated promptly. Our server seemed to hate his job. We ordered some wine and tomato bread to start. The wine was very good and the tomato bread was just fine. It needed salt. We ordered the seafood and meat paella. The seafood was way over cooked as well as the meat. The rice it self which should be the star had absolutely zero flavor. It was like eating something served in a school cafeteria. After paying 50 Euro's for some bad rice I see no reason to return.
Shawn R — Google review
We ordered the Valencian paella, and the flavor was good. Unfortunately, the rice was undercooked at first, so the kitchen had to take it back. When it returned, the chicken had become dry and overcooked, and since they used our original plate to re-cook it, we ended up with only about three-quarters of the paella left to eat. That part was disappointing. On the positive side, our server Chicho was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience a little better.

This beachside restaurant delivered one of the best meals we had in Barcelona — and the view was absolutely incredible, right by the sand with the Mediterranean stretching out in front of us. It doesn’t get more “by the beach” than this. We started with warm bread and olives, followed by croquettes and fresh calamari that was perfectly crisp and tender. A chilled pitcher of sangria set the tone — fruity, refreshing, and ideal for a seaside lunch. The real star was the paella. We’ve tried paella at some of Barcelona’s most talked-about spots, but this one stood out as one of the very best. The squid ink paella, in particular, was spot on — rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite captured the essence of fresh seafood. Between the unbeatable view, excellent service, and standout food, this was easily one of the most memorable meals of our trip. A true gem for anyone looking for authentic seafood and paella with the bonus of a stunning beachfront setting.

We were at the beach and decided to have lunch at Can Fisher, what a great idea!! Food was outstanding like a top notch restaurant. We asked about the grilled fish, and they brought us a platter with all catches of the day available at the moment. It’s just so fresh. We ordered a grilled sea bass that came with grilled vegetables that were sooo tasty. The fish was grilled to perfection and delicious. The green salad was so fresh, that it felt like they had just harvested it. The mussels a la marinera were so delicious that we had to order a second portion because the kids ate it all. Ordered a Hugo spritz and it was so refreshing and huge. The view is obviously the cherry on the top. Highly recommend it. I might come back a second time before I leave.

I had the squid fried egg here over 6 years ago, since then I've thought about it at least once a week. Luckily I had the privilege of eating here again last week and it was just as delicious as the first time, honestly for me it's the best egg dish I've ever eaten it's just absolutely perfect. To top that the staff are friendly welcoming and attentive thank you again for the best egg of my life!.

Great bar in the markets… probably the best… extremely friendly and efficient with the best Spanish omelette we have ever had. The seafood was delicious and all dishes came out like a high end restaurant

I followed Phil "Somebody Feed Phil" to this marketplace to have lunch at El Quim. We expected the seats were hot so we acknowledged to the staff seats for two, and we did not wait long for our seats. Ordering was an ease, the menu was easy understanding and we ordered our food. Everyone was busy but seemed they did not forget every customer, everyone was well taken care of. The must have signature dish: baby squids on fried eggs (2 eggs) was amazing! Best eat with their crusty bread, and use the bread to soak up the sauce left on the pan. We also had the anchovies, oysters and razor clams, all were very delicious. Oh, the sangria, got to have the sangria, it went well with the food. Watching the actions in the kitchen was a bonus. We had such wonderful culinary experience, El Quim isn't just a tapas bar, it is a destination.

Higher prices are expected at a tourist area.. prices are shown upfront, so it is whether one is willing to pay for it. Judging from the crowd, many do. Food is above average and enjoying food in the middle of a bustling market is part of the experience for tourists.

El Quim de la Boquería is a lively and charming bar located inside the famous Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona. The tiny counter-style setup with stools all around gives it an authentic and bustling market atmosphere. The menu offers a wide range of cold and hot tapas, meat and egg dishes, and local drinks, making it a great spot to sample traditional Catalan flavors. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, though prices are slightly on the higher side, which is understandable given the market’s popularity. The bar can get quite busy, adding to the vibrant energy of the place. However, it’s not the most vegan-friendly option—when we asked for vegan dishes, the eggplant came with sour cream and the mushroom plate included foie and egg, which made it difficult for our vegan friend to find suitable options. Still, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the quality and taste of the food stood out. El Quim de la Boquería is best suited for those looking to enjoy authentic market-style dining and local specialties in a lively, central setting.

It’s inside the market and we were seated at the bar watching the chefs making amazing tapas! We were amazed by the flames and the dynamics and the flavors. The Riojas wine was great and the croquetas delicious.

Heaven. The obligatory seafood platter, the baby squid and the iberico bellota plate are just simply perfect, but there's much more for the gourmets on the rustic & gorgeous lineup: the tripes are sensational! The texture is flawless, cooked to be supersoft but still nicely chewable, the taste is led by a rustic smoky note with a touch of chili - perfection. And the morcilla: well, we have a long tradition of black (blood) pudding in Hungary, but this is very different: it is not just blood, but full of different haggis-like cuts, dressed in a very unusal but phenomenal seasoning (almost sweet, lead by cinnamon, ginger...?). Flawless spot, everything is "Preparado con cariño" as our server said smiling on my honest surprise after tasting the tripes.

Gresca, located in Eixample, Barcelona, is a stylish and intimate restaurant known for its inventive upscale tapas and Catalan cuisine. Chef Rafa Pena leads the kitchen, offering dishes like silky scrambled eggs with wild garlic shoots and prawns, as well as octopus and blood-sausage carpaccio. The menu features specialties such as veal brain, marinated fresh anchovies, and a vegetable pie with avocado and smoked milk.
God I just loved this place from the moment we walked in! It’s a date night spot on steroids with its old-school quiet sophistication, exposed bricks, luxe tableware, playful flavours and bold pairings perfect for sharing ❤️ • DISH OF THE DAY: the humble tomato salad! I don’t remember the last time I had such delicious tomatoes 🍅 • FLAVOUR: 9.5/10 - every single bite sung with flavour! It’s clear to me they only use the top top tier ingredients in all their dishes 🏆 • PRESENTATION: 10/10 - beautiful, and extremely elevated ⭐️ • PRICE: on the slightly higher side for tapas-size sharing plates (they are quite small dishes) but so so worth it in my opinion! • SERVICE: 7.8/10 - we could have done without the pressure to order as we only had the table for two hours or the comments about how little food we needed but it’s Spain and peeps be direct 😆 Otherwise lovely! • VIBES: 9.8/10 - the vibe is shabby chic meets quiet elegance and I’m here for it! It also gave me old saloon vibes and overall everything just felt very special 💫 • BEST FOR: date night, smaller groups, intimate catch-ups, something special eg anniversary 💍 • WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO A FOODIE FRIEND? 100%! Perhaps not the best spot if you’re looking for quantity over quality but the way I see it: smaller portions = trying more things on the menu 😏 I’ve already made a mental note of what I’ll order when I go back (which of course I shared in my IG channel where I share ALL my personalised recs & insider foodie tips!) 😍 If you are looking for DAILY videos on the best places to EAT, SEE and VISIT in Barcelona then come find me on socials @octavia.overseas! 💁🏼‍♀️🇪🇸💫

I had very high expectations, as Gresca is very hyped and I had thought of going for a long time. The expectations were unfortunately not met. The service was average, some waiters very thoughtful and others very hectic and unorganized. When we entered there were two waiters just standing there looking at us waiting for a third to finish talking on the phone. A bit strange, but okay. The overall atmosphere is great, nice decoration and the open kitchen is quite scenic. However, the food leaves a lot to desire, which is a pity because the ingredients per-se are quite interesting and uncommon. For example, both the beetroot salad and the cabbagge had way too much vinegar, making the dish not very tasty. The eggplant was very disappointing, not particularly tasty and the parmesan sauce not tasting of much. On the other hand, the mackerel and calf’s sweetbread were great! The dessert were quite average, with exception of the chocolate scoop accompanying the “torrija”. The wines were excellent. Overall, not that great, especially if you consider the hefty price of the dinner.

I had an overall great experience mostly thanks to the amazing kindness and attention of the service. Such amazing waiters ! The atmosphere is exactly how I expected. Lively due to the open kitchen and the music, but thankfully it is not too loud to still have deep conversations. Definitely a great place for a good diner with an old friend or a date. On the food side I have a mixed opinion. I was deceived by the tomato bred, I feel like they were not generous enough with the tomato. We ordered the aubergine with Parmesan cream, the cream was really interesting but the main character of the dish (aubergine) was slightly over grilled and quiet smokey; could have been more delicate in my opinion. All the other dishes were amazing ! Such a great variety of taste and textures. My personal favourite were the ham and the chicken. Special mention to the great wine selection. Price wise, I consider it pricey for Barcelona. Definitely worth a try. I would come back thanks to the waiters and the atmosphere.

This was my second time visiting this restaurant, which I once considered one of the most impressive and memorable restaurants in Barcelona! So, I specifically planned my Barcelona trip and immediately booked it for my last night. But the result was very disappointing, and I may have to adjust my ranking of it. Firstly, the familiar waiters have all left, and the newly hired staff generally seem emotionless and wear fake smiles. When I tried to order in stages to ensure the food was enjoyed at its best quality, I received an indifferent reaction from the waiter, just a fake smile. Moreover, my assigned seating was a two-person table by the roadside. Under normal circumstances, the earliest seated customers should get the corner location, but I was just given a seat on the very edge, and the chair was broken. I couldn't imagine a Michelin-recommended restaurant having this kind of service and experience. The food selection wasn't as extensive as before, and while many dishes were surprisingly delicious the first time I ate here, this time they were just okay. Furthermore, the waiters kept urging me to order, and even specifically reminded me that the dining time was only two hours, giving me the feeling that they wanted me to eat and get out quickly. The appetizers were good, with fresh ingredients. The preserved mackerel was very tasty, but I preferred last year's version, which had toast underneath for a better texture. The only redeeming thing was that their quail was really delicious, with excellent seasoning and perfect cooking, and the charcoal grilling flavor was outstanding. This dish is the only reason I would come back. Although many people generally think the price is relatively expensive, considering they use charcoal grilling, which requires time and effort to prepare, I think the price is reasonable, but the portion sizes are a little small. If this restaurant is no longer part of the Michelin selection in the future, I wouldn't be surprised. After reading other diners' reviews and reactions, coupled with my own experience this time, it's truly disappointing

Lovely decor, ambiance and open kitchen. Service was good but they definitely forgot two of our vegetables dishes which we had to remind them of and arrived well after everything. Food is very average and small portions. Definitely not worth the money or hype. A shame as we have been wanting to come here for a long time. The only dish we actually enjoyed was a the celeriac.

Wow! What amazing food and service. I wish I had a better seat but that was my fault for booking late. Absolutely everything was delicioso and the wines election is amazing. Just a note to the restaurant: a wine list in each language would be nice!
Deepak G — Google review
Surprised this restaurant is not rated higher. We thought every dish that came was really delicious! Had the anchovy, tomato salad, eggplant, jamon bikini, cod with tripe. Tripe was unrecognizable in this form but still tasty. Jamon bikini was a delicious ham and cheese bite. And if tomatoes are in season, get the tomatoes! Would recommend!

Restaurant Can Cargol is a laid-back Catalan-style bar and grill known for its snails, chicken, and suckling pig cooked over coals. The place offers a variety of dishes including grilled artichokes, calcots, traditional Catalan salads, local tomatoes with mozzarella, duck, and pork. The atmosphere is relaxed and homely with a rustic decor. Visitors praise the incredible food quality and service provided by the attentive staff.
Superb quality food all round; great tapas plates, snails, and meats. Very reasonable on the pricing, and lots of good options for eating and drinking. Nice interior to the restaurant, too. Booking recommended.

I love snails. I mean I love eating them, of course. 😅 For some reason, I associate snails with the countryside. It makes sense cause you don't see people hunting (should I say "hunt" snails? 🤔) in the city. But you can't find rice fields or farms in the city either... 😅 A few weeks ago, one of my friends who lives abroad asked for snails so I took him to Can Cargol, which had been on my bucket list for a long time. With a name like this... 😉 Bonus: we got a discount through Thefork! 🥳 First off, the place is dark and not exactly cozy. A cozy atmosphere may not be what I was looking for but there's much room for improvement on this side. 🫤 The waitress was flexible with the side dishes and she was efficient. But there again, there's room for improvement in terms of image. 🫤 The snails now. We shared 3 types of snails. As always my favorites were the "salt an pepper" ones which is another way to say "a la llauna". They were very good. The other 2 were good too. 👍 But none were memorable... Then I had pork cheeks with white beans. And that was good too but again, not something I'll remember forever... As for the desserts, I know my son enjoyed his rice pudding a lot. But I'm not a big fan of the carquinyolis (typical Catalan cookies with nuts) I got. Discount and drinks appart, we paid about €35 each, which is a standard price for BCN (unfortunately, if I may say). As often, the best part was the company. I wish we could do this more often, and maybe next time we'll get the wow factor we didn't find here. Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: 8/10 How I felt afterwards: 7/10

This was our second time in Can Cargol and while the first one was a blast, i cannot say the same for this visit. The caracoles are good and definitely that is the thing you should eat here. We also enjoyed the cannelloni. The Andalusian fried squids were quite bitter. The sausage skewer was average and the potatoes to it - bland. The house sangra with cava is a joke. Otherwise service is attentive and nice. But they brought us things we didn’t order and after we pointed it out, just said: Well, it’s ok, right?
Гергана Г — Google review
The place looks really good , but when it comes to the plates , they are not something special. For what we ordered, the portions were really small and the prices not friendly at all. We had the solomillo plate , which was a portion not even for one (a small piece of meat , and 4 slices of potatoes) and it cost 19.5 euros. The pimientos plate was not something special and neither was the tortilla de bacalao. ( Not tasty) As foreigners, it was difficult to decide what to order and the host seemed annoyed and didn't offer any help. Not friendly at all. We were disappointed since we were expecting something better , considering the reviews this place has. Wouldn't come again.

Can Cargol in Barcelona nails classic Catalan flavors, from snails to rabbit, in a lively, locals-filled spot. I recently moved to the area and this was one of my first meals here. Food: Caracoles catalanes: rich, garlicky, and herb-forward—comforting and deeply Catalan. Conill (rabbit): tender, well-seasoned, with a satisfying savory sauce. Service/Ambience: Warm, unpretentious service and a bustling, authentic atmosphere that makes you feel like a local. Value: Entrees about €14–€22; generous portions and solid value for Barcelona’s vibrant dining scene. Verdict: Recommend for a true Catalan night with great atmosphere.

We love this place!!! The food is absolutely amazing! The service was imbecable. We got here around 7pm and thought the place was closed because there were no other customers. We definitely ordered snails and Aranda lamb since it is their specialty. The food was soooo tasty. To my surprise, the place was packed by the time we were done. I guess dinner in Spain begins after 8-9pm. Come for the food. Stay for the sangria, snails and lamb!! I would certainly come back again. Plus, the prices here are very reasonable for such a unique experience.

BENZiNA is an Italian restaurant located in the vibrant Sant Antoni district of Barcelona. The eatery boasts an industrial-style ambiance with a touch of New York flair, offering a unique dining experience. The menu features regional Roman cuisine, including antipasti, fresh pasta made in-house, and a selection of meat and seafood dishes.
One of the best Italian spots in Barcelona! Benzina is a cozy, beautifully designed restaurant that instantly makes you feel at home. The food is exceptional, classic Italian dishes with creative twists, made with top quality ingredients. Every plate is a hit, but the Carbonara is my absolute favorite! What truly sets this place apart is the amazing staff. Chiara is an absolute gem, warm, always smiling, and incredibly helpful with great recommendations. The owner, Badr, is often around, making everyone feel like family with his generosity (don’t be surprised if you’re treated to a glass of Cava or dessert!). A must, visit every time I’m in Barcelona, delicious food, great vibes, and wonderful people.

Had the best time here! First and foremost, our server Hector was not only funny but so open, helpful, kind, and beyond welcoming. He shared some of his story with us, answered questions we had, and was helpful in selecting what to eat. (I’ve attached various photos of the great food! Not pictured: the eggplant appetizer which, I admit, is one of the more odd things I’ve had, but wonderfully so! I suggest it a million times over, it was an eggplant confit with a Parmesan ice cream! We also had the calamari which was the right amount of salty and crunchy! Tens across the board!) Entrees didn’t disappoint and dessert was a perfect end to a perfect dinner service. As I find is fairly typical with EU restaurants, they were more than cautious about my nut allergy—very attentive and thorough.

absolutely LOVED this restaurant for its exceptional hospitality, delicious food, and industrial chic yet warm vibe. I have a severe food allergy, and they were so kind about accommodating it/explaining the menu. 10/10 would recommend and if I lived in Barcelona, I’d be back every week.

This is by far the best restaurant I’ve been to in Barcelona. The vibe and interior are absolutely stunning and create a fantastic atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was outstanding. As for the food — it exceeded all my expectations, especially considering the reasonable prices. The braised beef cheek was absolutely delicious: tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Everything was just right. I would recommend this place to everyone!

A really cozy Italian restaurant with friendly service and great food. To start, we had the berenjena confitada, crudo de pez limón, and steak tartare, followed by the carbonara and the linguine with lobster. Overall, everything was very good, the starters might have even been the highlight. The only downside was the lobster linguine, which wasn’t our favorite since the strong cardamom flavor overpowered the whole dish.

Came after seeing the great reviews and it did not disappoint! The confit aubergine alla parmigiana was so flavourful and melted in their mouths, the spaghetti à la carbonara was perfection – probably the best carbonara of my life, and the grilled scallops were cooked to perfection, nice and tender with the fresh watermelon gazpacho. Jorge, our server, was so friendly and took amazing care of us. He is the one who offered all of the different recommendations and steered us in the right direction. He also welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm, making our final night in Barcelona very memorable. Thank you, Jorge and Benzina!!!

Batea is a seafood restaurant located near the iconic Avenida Palace hotel in Barcelona. It offers a variety of fresh shellfish sourced from the Atlantic and Mediterranean at reasonable prices. The menu mainly consists of different preparations of spiny sea creatures such as oysters, mussels, razor clams, and white shrimp. The restaurant's modern interior provides a laid-back atmosphere for enjoying expertly prepared seafood dishes meant to be shared.
We were at the restaurant for lunch on Friday. Everything was perfect. The interior was very elegant and apart from casual dining, it is well suited for special occasions too. Toilets were clean anf spacious toilets with golden taps. Of all the dishes we tried, the Galician mussels were the best, especially the sauce, to which the attentive waiter brought us bread so we could enjoy every last drop. The roast pork belly served within the surf and turf rice, along with monkfish cheeks was also delicious. The prices matched the quality and freshness of the ingredients, while still being fair, especially considering the location near Placa de Catalunya. We were a bit disappointed that the water was not free, which should be a standard. The service was attentive and friendly, and several small talks with the waiter only added to the already great atmosphere of the place. A minor discrepancy in the final bill was compensated by a delicious coffee liqueur. Overall, we enjoyed the place very much, and on our next visit to Barcelona we will be happy to come again. Recommended.

My dining mate loves seafood so we had to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. This was probably one of our favourite restaurants we tried on our trip. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend you make a reservation: it was packed (despite being 8pm) and we saw several people turned away. Hard to pick highlights, because everything was so delicious but some knockouts: 1. Oysters: I'm not a big oyster fan, but the seasoned oysters were WOW. The sauces complemented the oysters so perfectly -- creamy, tangy, verdant 2. Scallops: original take on scallops, which were served warm and sliced. 3. Clams: oh my goodness, these clams. They were served with Agua de Lourdes (which we had never tried); they were sour, creamy and unforgettable 4. Tomato salad: acidic and extremely satisfying. A sleeper hit. Would definitely come back. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

We stopped in for lunch, have to say one of the best meals I have had in Barcelona. The clams were really exceptional the seafood in general was very good. Would certainly recommend. It was also quite reasonable priced for the quality. I would return for sure.

Possibly one of the best meals I’ve had in Barcelona. From the fun ambience to incredibly friendly service, this restaurant is a must for seafood lovers. The seafood mixed plate, clams, and Galician prawns were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The bread and seaweed butter were perfect for soaking up the extra sauce so nothing went to waste. The standout dish of the night was the catch of the day ceviche. The fish was fresh and almost sweet and perfectly complemented by the dill sauce emulsion. All of the bites felt like a curated experience, and elevated everything I thought I knew about seafood. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time, and hope to be back soon.

One of the best dinners of my life! Ranked in top 5 all time. The food was sublime, combinations of flavors, service, ambiance, & music. We tried as many dishes as possible and every one was incredible. Left feeling like that was a proper culinary experience. Thank you Batea team! Seasoned oysters, croquettes, octopus highly recommend but truly hard to pick my favorite!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent dinner at Batea in Barcelona. Forget the typical touristy tapas spots, this place delivers something far more refined. Don’t be intimidated by the elegant setting; the vibe is welcoming and the food is outstanding. Every dish was well thought out and packed with flavour. Bring a big appetite to order more food if possible.

A pleasant dinner but we expected finer tastes. It all tasted good and the croquetas de pollo with tartar de gambas was the most successful dish. Just a bit short of deliciousness. I will go to other places on my Barcelona list before coming back to Batea.

This was my first time dining at Batea in BCN. I was a little hesitant at first because of the hefty no-show or cancellation fee, but it totally makes sense now! We tried a bit of everything, ceviche, croquettes, paella, and dessert, and everything was truly chef’s kiss. Every plate was curated to perfection, and every bite was a culinary experience. Batea is definitely a must-visit when in BCN.

Amar Barcelona is a newly opened restaurant located in the historic luxury hotel, The Palace Barcelona. Inspired by the 1920s Barcelona, the restaurant features navy-blue walls and plush blue velvet seats. Renowned for its seafood sourced from top suppliers, Amar offers a casual luxury dining experience that aims to delight customers. The restaurant has gained attention for its exceptional food taste and presentation, with particular praise for its sea urchin, prawns, and caviar dish.
Nice, classy place in the heart of Barcelona. I can really recommend costa brava fish fillets with super tasty sauce, each course was nicely presented, service was quick, food was delicious, definitely Michelin standard! Historical place and one of the oldest hotel in Barcelona!
Oldřich H — Google review
No. Having eaten at Michelin restaurants and fine restraints across the world, Amar is inadequate. The menu is unbalanced, and the serving size is incorrect - let me explain: The fish is of high quality, but the serving is too large for 2 people (shared) and becomes cold and laborious to eat, past the halfway point. You pay per 100 grams, so that 1300gms fish is expensive when only the first 1/3rd is warm and flavorsom, the rest is bones or just cold white meat... For two people dining, you can not order two mains without wasting most of it, or over eating... So if you want fish and bovine / goat, you're going to be wasting a lot of food and money. Famous house made fries - present like something from a fast food shop - another lost opportunity to prepare and present better fries. Not Famous, not convinced they are homemade. White asparagus was good. Desert - the "sweet selection" was dissatisfied, lacked inspiration, and a very poor way to finish a meal. Head chef - get on a plane and go do high tea at Raffles - learn what excitement, consistency, and memorability in a "sweets selection" is about... Gin selection was limited, and the preparation of the drink lacked excitement. Quality - product ingredients are very good. Execution - poor and upsetting, because it is distracted by showmanship and lacks craftsmanship. Consistently - falls off rapidly. The last bite should be as good as the first - that's what you pay for, but it isn't. Service by the staff is very good, and they know the meals well and can advise you properly. Your memories of the opulence of the room and setting will be quickly disolved by the inability to match it with a consistent meal experience. If you're by yourself or taking guests, at the moment, I think you will be disappointed and resentful. I wish it could match what it projects itself to be. It fell short...

Amar Barcelona, located inside the elegant El Palace Hotel, is a true five-star dining experience that blends historic grandeur with modern sophistication. Under the direction of chef Rafa Zafra, the restaurant celebrates Mediterranean seafood at its finest—think oysters with caviar, crayfish carpaccio, and perfectly grilled fish—each dish executed with precision and creativity. The service is exceptional, attentive without being intrusive, and the wine list curated by sommelier Juanma Holgado is both extensive and perfectly matched to the menu. The atmosphere, with its deep blue velvet, golden details, and soft lighting, makes every visit feel like a special occasion. Expensive but worth every euro, Amar is one of Barcelona’s most refined culinary experiences and a must for lovers of exquisite seafood and impeccable service.

Had a solo trip to Barcelona and wanted to try Amar to celebrate a special occasion. While Amar is certainly capable of delivering a full 5-star experience, I didn’t get it. Menu choices were limited for solo dining, as many choices were meant for sharing between 2 or more diners. I was able to string together some smaller dishes to make a satisfying meal, including 2 very good desserts. Amar’s churros and chocolate the best! The experience really ended poorly after I left a 10 euro cash tip on a 163 euro bill (for one!). Apparently 10 euro wasn’t sufficient at Amar? This is in Barcelona, right, where a 5-10% tip (or any tip at all) should be appreciated. I clearly got the cold shoulder on the way out with the accusing question “was everything alright”? Never again, Amar.

Fabulous dinner with friends. The food and staff were amazing. The menu was slightly confusing and hard to choose how to tackle it, as there were so many options and different kinds of plates. The explanations when the food arrived were great, including how to eat the food with the various sauces etc. We had the mussels, hake, rubia, crab salad, steak and the XXL torrija for dessert. Plus some other bits I can't remember! I would definitely go back.

Fantastic restaurant mostly because of the food taste and presentation, the taste of every single course is superior and definitely something very very special. The service is good but could be improved in some aspects. The restaurant itself is really beautiful and the entry is very grandiose because it is located in the palace hotel. It especially became famous after Obama's visit recently. Obviously such a famous and special restaurant experience comes at a price.

Spanish restaurant
Suculent is a unique dining spot in the El Raval area that offers a blend of Spanish meat and fish dishes with a creative twist. The restaurant features two distinct experiences - La Taberna del Suculent, where guests can enjoy expertly prepared tapas at the bar counter, and a sit-down restaurant serving traditional, high-quality dishes. Known for its offal recipes elevated to exquisite culinary creations, Suculent is a haven for meat enthusiasts.
For my final night in Barcelona I booked the classics tasting menu at this restaurant several weeks ago. The classics tasting menu consists of 7 savory and 2 dessert dishes however there’s another menu with 13 dishes which may be ordered if a) you’re starving b) want to enjoy more of this restaurants culinary prowess. My meal actually got off to a poor start as I’m not a fan of anchovies, however the meal continued to go from strength to strength thereafter. The duck croquettes, the prawn ceviche, the maitaki mushrooms, the steak tartare over bone marrow, the stingray on mash and the lamb neck dishes were perfectly executed, delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. These savory dishes were then followed by 2 beautiful desserts: strawberries stuffed with white chocolate and a perfectly balanced Brie cheesecake with vanilla. The fact that this entire menu - at this level of cooking - costs €70 is incredible value for money. Service was excellent and our waiter was genuinely attentive to our culinary needs & always ready with excellent recommendations when needed. The atmosphere is quite rustic, cozy & intimate yet refined without being pretentious. Suculent offers a masterful take on traditional Spanish and Catalan cuisine with a modern edge. IMO it’s a must visit for anyone serious about food. PS. Also nice of them to remember my birthday🎂

Classic menu was really great with a diverse range of flavours. It was a LOT of food surprisingly and each dish gave something different. Their booking system is fairly chaotic which they should definitely clean up. Also maybe value for money could have been better but overall, a worthy experience.

Best meal we have had in a while. Lovely service! We went for classic with pairing, and it’s excellent. The prawn dish and strawberry dessert went extremely well with the wine. If you’re visiting. You have to try! Would come back for the full menu.

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Suculent. I’ve eaten at a lot of great restaurants, but this was easily one of the top dining experiences I’ve ever had. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and every single dish was spot-on perfect. The pairings worked beautifully and really elevated the whole meal. What really made the night, though, was our server. I feel terrible because I can’t remember his name (it started with an A, he’s from South America and has been in Spain for 2 years), but he was phenomenal. His service was flawless and his personality added so much to the evening. He was perfectly fluent in English, but also took the time to help us practice our Spanish, which we really appreciated. He also gave us thoughtful recommendations on how to best enjoy each dish, from which cutlery to use to little tips on how to get the most out of the flavors. It made the experience feel even more personal and memorable. On top of all that, the price was very reasonable for the quality of food, wine, and service, especially when compared to North American standards, where you’d easily pay much more for something of this caliber. I’d recommend Succulent to anyone visiting Barcelona.

We were a group of 6 and celebrated our mother's retirement and wanted to chose something special. We opted for "Suculent" tasting menu and all of us were savouring each bite. Each and one of us were delighted by each dish. My favourites were cuttlefish with almond mild, beetroot with smoked eel, scallop and cava sauce. Jordy was our server and was personable, attentive and made us feel comfortable throughout the meal. The wine recommendations were spot on! We really enjoyed the rustic and relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. It was a great experience and everyone was happy with absolutely everything. 10/10

We had an amazing dinner at Suculent, we did the traditional tasting menu with wine pairing. 10/10 would recommend and go again. The bone marrow tar tar was exceptional. All the dishes were delicious. The Stingray was our least favorite.

Came for a dinner with my partner and it was some of the best food I have had in Barcelona. We opted for "The Classics" tasting menu and were impressed by each and every dish -- especially the duck croquette, red prawn, and steak tartare. The brie and vanilla cheesecake completely blown us away and was probably the best cheesecake we've ever had. Our server Jordy was attentive and made us feel comfortable throughout the meal, and we really enjoyed the rustic and casual ambiance of the restaurant. Great experience overall and would 100% come back for the full tasting menu for our next trip!

Spanish restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Poble Sec neighborhood, Taverna Can Margarit has been a beloved fixture of Barcelona's dining scene for over 40 years. This charming tavern offers a delightful journey through traditional Catalan, Levantine, and Andalusian cuisine in a rustic setting that feels like stepping back in time. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a complimentary glass of wine poured straight from the barrels that adorn the walls—a warm welcome indeed!
Fantastic, little, off the beaten path, restaurant. The atmosphere was great and decorated with old casks, bottles that had candles in them for over 40 years, and other interesting and historical items. It was like going back in time. Upon entering, we were offered a taste of different wines from large wooden casks... sweet white, dry white, sweet red and dry red. We then sat at our table and ordered the rabbit with cloves of garlic and onions. Unbelievably delicious!!! My wife had grilled pork, which was also delicious. The service was great. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to all who love traditional Spanish cuisine.

Cozy typical place in the neighbourhood. Amazing food, especially the rabbit dish. Highly recommended
Giulia B — Google review
This place was recommended to us by someone who lives in Canada! We found out that it is on the same street as our AirBnB. It was a 2 minute walk. The entrance is not very distinguishable for the rest of the building, albeit very large…you are entering an ex-winery, you will notice immediately since there are huge barrels of wine. You will be given a glass and the wine tasting ritual will start. You can taste their home made wine, 2 whites and two reds. The ceilings are high, the atmosphere medieval and very Spanish. I am not a great fan of a rabbit, BUT everyone around me recommended it, so I went then for the best rabbit of my life. We also ordered local sausage with beans. Desserts were also great accompanied with the dry red. All in all, an amazing experience improved with the great Ismail from Argentina as an amazing host!!! Muchas gracias!!!🙏

A beautiful and authentic Catalonian restaurant with delicious foods and one of the best sweet wines I have tried. Make sure to make a reservation, don’t dress in something nice because you’ll leave smelling like food, it can get hot inside so wear something light. The food is delicious and I would recommend going there in a group of friends so you can try everything but I personally would recommend the rabbit. The staff are alright but one or them is relatively unfriendly and made our experience not so pleasant..
Sam M — Google review
Authentic bodega, country style eating in Poble Sec. Great environment, you are allowed to try the house wines before your reservation in the front room. The dishes are simple and heavy, but well priced and good. The potatoes should be avoided, they are wet fries with cumin. The highlight is the huge bread with tomato, homemade and very tasty. The mushrooms are served cold with a balsamic vinaigrette, which is delightful. The meats from Vic are nothing special, normal cold cuts. Fried baby calamari are good and greasy. Beans and ensalada Murciana we're also good, nice surprises. Wines are incredibly cheap for a L and go down smooth. Best make reservations the day before, fills up and tables don't leave.
Tom S — Google review
This place was an old beer factory with the decoration from the time, which add quite a bit to the vibe of this restaurant. This restaurant is also in a very cute residential area. The food is very local, the comfortable type of food. the specialty, and everyone, I think, should try is the rabbit. It is divine! But the friend squid is just ok, i would even say a bit greasy. Overall it is a good experience.

The staff is extremely helpful and the food is delicious, with homemade, grandma-style cooking that's both affordable and tasty. The friendly staff are passionate about their work, and everything is made on the spot, ensuring a delightful dining experience.
Highly recommend La Paradeta, ate there today and the food was delicious. Great choice of gluten free dishes, extremely helpful waiter and was able to have a selection of desserts which included cheesecake and brownie - I went for the cheesecake. The ribs were the best ribs I've had and the chips were also up there. Hope to get to go back while I'm here.

First of all: i came here because i mistook it for the sea food place, which wasn't a huge problem because the menu here spiked my interests. Even though they were super full, they had 1 small seat open and sat me down. the waiter was super nice, and i thank him a lot for his kind service. What i ordered: The snails, the oxtail stew, and something with shrimp. I asked the waiter if I could try the snails first because i had never eaten them before. He kindly obliged and asked someone higher up first and granted my wish. They weren't bad but they had a special taste, so i ordered a full plate. Afterward , the shrimp things came. I thought they would be normal shrimp, but that was my mistake because i can't read the menu that well (it wasn't in english). These were very good though with the sauce. The oxtail stew at this time and with a full house wasn't good. I think it was rushed out of the kitchen very fast, so the meat was cold on the inside. I informed the waiter, and once again, the nice guy was super apologetic. I understand that a full house means a lot of stress for the cooks. But please make sure that the food is prepared when it comes to meat dishes. Thank you for the food anyway! And thanks to the great waiter!

Mikan is a new Asian restaurant in Barcelona that gained popularity through Instagram and started as a ghost restaurant delivering bento boxes. The menu offers delightful options like chicken nanban & Iberian pork katsu donburi set, served with simple yet high-quality side dishes. The cozy and comfortable ambiance, along with attentive staff and complimentary water, adds to the overall great value for lunch.
It’s a cute & small place with very good services and exquisite food. Their outdoor dining area is quite close to the street so it was a little noisy because of traffic but we really wanted to sit outside so we could enjoy the weather a bit more. They have great vegan and vegetarian options and lovely wine. 🧡 We got two cold (cherry tomatoes, tofu) and three hot dishes (mushrooms, prawns & rice noodles) and we also ordered a bowl of rice to share and soak up all the good sauce with 🤝 (highly recommend) We each got a glass of wine and a bottle of water as well. For their wine menu you’ll only find bottle prices but they’ll let you try the wines from a selection that are open right now to pick😁

We found this restaurant through a food magazine in our hotel. The first page I opened showed a photo of katsu with rice, one of my favorites and it was absolutely delicious! My husband was skeptical at first, but once he tried it, he was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. The highlight for us was the cherry tomato bomb. I don’t know how they cook it, but you definitely have to order it, it tastes amazing!

Not going to lie—on a street filled with restaurants, we only noticed Mikan because of their awesome sign (we like cats, we like wine, so a cat drinking wine=awesome). Stopped by for dinner later that night, and it turned out to be one of the best meals of our vacation. Incredibly flavorful food, excellent wines, and stellar service. I also may have bought a T-shirt with their logo… On a vacation that was filled with a lot of very good food, Mikan was the find of the trip. Already looking forward to our next visit.

It was ok to try, but i would say it was a bit pricy for the quantity of food-quality was good enough-. Katsu was 19 euros, and chicken nanban was 17 euros, and it is a kind of menu del día deal. Because it comes with a bowl of rice and tea or dessert. But the dessert option was very disappointing, one was brownie and the other was green tea. Very limited choice. And the brownie was... really small. Tea was nice, though.

Masa Vins is a cozy spot in Barcelona's artsy Poble Nou neighborhood, offering a wide selection of natural wines. The small, vibrant space exudes a friendly and laid-back atmosphere, attracting a trendy crowd. With an extensive wine list featuring both popular and obscure varietals, it's a haven for wine enthusiasts. The menu boasts trendy dishes like kimchi grilled cheese and crudite with fermented carrot-cashew dip, all beautifully presented.
If you haven’t been to this place yet, it’s a must-go. And if you’ve been here before, you need to come back—because you already know how good it is. Everything I’ve tried, and every time I’ve visited, my experience has only gotten better. I might be a bit obsessed with this place, but trust me, it’s worth it. I’m even willing to cross half the city just to grab some food and wine here. The wine selection is amazing. The staff is incredibly professional and takes the time to explain everything, even the smallest details. And the food? Every dish is just incredible. They update the menu from time to time, but if you’re lucky and they still have the mussel sandwich or the artichoke one, you have to try them. Promise me. I also love the olives with the spiced nuts. The olives are easy to peel, and they serve them with coriander, which adds a special flavor. It’s a perfect pairing with wine. The place itself is super chic and stylish!

A simply perfect wine bar - in terms of wine selection, food and price. You can't make a reservation, we arrived around 8:00 PM and the lovely hostess suggested we wait outside with a glass of wine until a table became available, which is what we did. From the moment we sat down, both the service and the food were amazing. Highly recommend

My wife and I visited this restaurant with high expectations. While the food was genuinely excellent—the olives and nuts were fantastic, the pesto pasta and Greek salad were delicious, the hotdog was incredibly flavorful, and the orange wine was a great touch—our overall experience was disappointing due to the service and organization. We waited 2.5 hours to be seated, which would have been more manageable if there had been a reservation system or at least an estimate of wait time. Not knowing if or when we’d get a table made it almost impossible to consider other dining options, especially later in the evening. Once we were finally seated, we were asked for our dessert order right after placing our mains, which felt rushed and odd. An hour later, we were handed the bill and asked to leave—despite there being no stated time limits on how long guests can stay. In short, amazing food, but poor management and service took away from the experience. We likely won’t return unless the seating and service situation improves.
Assil M — Google review
Cool vibe, nice selecion of wine, the right place to share a few plates with friends in casual style. However a bit overpriced. Farinata was nice but very small portion. The porchetta a bit dry and hard to cut. More in general there is a original selection of dishes but the quantity is poor and as a result you end up easily paying 50€ per person to get full. Best part is dessert though. The orange sponge cake was incredibly delicious! I would go back, but only when I am not that hungry ;))

AÜRT Restaurant, situated in the Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel, is the brainchild of Chef Artur Martinez, renowned for his minimalist yet flavorful dishes. The restaurant's open kitchen allows diners to witness the meticulous preparation of each dish by a talented team of chefs. AÜRT earned its first Michelin star in November 2019 for its posh street food concept that highlights local products.
This is my favourite fine dining restaurant in Barcelona. Everything they do is impeccable. It’s a myth that because they serve you small portions that you don’t get full. Often at these places you even each too much because it’s a few bites of 20 dishes. Here, it was perfect. We left feeling perfectly satisfied. Each dish had purpose and a new perspective. I like how at Aürt the food is so unexpected but made without too much complication. They invite you to explore ingredients, textures, and aesthetics with each dish. And the wine pairing was a spectacular way to enhance the experience. The service was immaculate–smooth, calm, and swift. Everyone was kind and personable. We actually were compensated for the whole menu and wine pairing because they had to move our reservation. It’s crazy amazing how they kept their promise even if in the end they didn’t actually end up rescheduling us. Now THAT is good service. I’m so impressed. We were the only 2 people that night because everyone else had rescheduled and even then they operated the restaurant like any other day without lessening anything from the experience. This place shows how much value can be created from dedication to their client, their staff, and to the craft of gastronomy.

Had an exceptional dining experience at a hidden gem nestled in a hotel lobby in Barcelona. Despite the odd dining location (in the lobby bar area), the outstanding service and overall experience exceeded expectations. The tasting menu, featuring 20 meticulously crafted courses, left me in awe as each dish was explained in intricate detail and all very tasty (none was a miss!!!). The paired wines added another layer to the culinary journey, making it a delightful and educational experience. Awarded a well-deserved 1 Michelin star. Reflecting on this gastronomic adventure, I can confidently say that it stands as one of the best fine dining experiences I’ve had. Should my travels bring me back to Barcelona, revisiting this culinary haven would be a top priority—an unmistakable testament to its allure and the indelible mark it left on my palate and overall dining repertoire. 👩‍🍳🤤🇪🇸

This restaurant is siuated within the Hilton hotel, it is a nicely decorated restaurant however, the adjacent bar area initially was a little distracting in the first instance. However as soon as I was seated and the chefs began their culinary performance, my surroundings faded away, and I was immersed by the theatrics. The restaurant features approximately five distinct stations, each manned by skilled personal chefs dedicated to preparing your meal. This orchestrated experience is heavily centered around the theatrics of the culinary process, complemented by the opportunity to indulge in multiple courses from the taster menu. The menu showcased a variety of small, meticulously crafted dishes. Despite their size, these offerings collectively satisfied the palate, leaving me content by the meal's conclusion. Enhancing the experience, we opted for wine pairings, which further elevated our enjoyment of the evening. Undoubtedly, the Aurt restaurant provided an exceptional and enjoyable encounter in the vibrant city of Barcelona.

Churros e chocolate is a classic Spanish delight consisting of deep-fried dough pastries often paired with a cup of thick, rich chocolate. Originating from Madrid, this beloved treat is enjoyed throughout the country and is a must-try for visitors. The churros are typically crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while the chocolate is known for its rich flavor without added sugar.
This place is a hidden gem 💝. The food is absolutely delicious. The toasties are supper yummy. I saw the bad reviews but I want to give a try, well the churros wasn’t all that that, (I’ve tried them in Madrid where they were invented and payed 2€ for 10 churros) the hot chocolate was good and the flat white was good too but my table was sticky(maybe it wasn’t cleansed properly?) and the the bill was pricey. (11,40€) The waitress laughed after I asked for no sugar on the top (I saw the pictures posted here where all churros had white sugar) It can be improved.

Great place to try the typical churros and chocolate. The menu includes sweet and savory dishes. simple but very cozy environment, helpful and friendly staff

This morning, I enjoyed xocolata amb xurros with my friends, and it was absolutely incredible. The chocolate was out of this world, the churros were just as amazing, and the service from the staff was impeccable. Highly recommended!

Bad reviews are fake - the hot chocolate here is amazing, worth the walk over. They had churros in the summer lol. The other food looked good too. Decent AC and a clean bathroom.
Vito G — Google review
Not easy to find the place although we used google maps. The name is very deceiving, because apparently during the summer they don’t have churros. No where on their menu or on google maps does it say they don’t have churros. The Iberian eggs were good, we found the decorations they used a bit unnecessary and strange, but overall a good dish. The pancakes with ice cream was good, there was a nice amount of chocolate as well. Trying to pay was a pain, there were only two waiters, and one of them was on his phone off to the side, entirely unresponsive when we tried getting his attention several times. We ended up walking to the front and paying. Overall opinion, the food was ok, but find a different restaurant to eat at. VERY EXPENSIVE. I will not be going back.

Flax&Kale is a trendy restaurant with a focus on top-quality flexitarian cuisine, offering creative salads and gluten-free desserts. With multiple locations in Barcelona, Lleida, and Madrid, it has become popular among veggie lovers. The menu features raw foods, vegan options, allergen-friendly dishes, and flexitarian creations incorporating small amounts of animal protein with an abundance of veggies.
Beautiful setting in a trendy location with incredible food. Great for vegetarian and vegans with plenty of options. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of menu and this was my second visit having been first in 2020 and again in 2025. Both times the food was amazing and would visit on return to Barcelona again.

Love this place. Healthy yummie food and interesting recipes. And some of my favorite smoothies. I always try to go every time I am in Barcelona. Highly recommended. Would love to have that place in Palma.

Great plant based health food conscious restaurant serving up protein/salad bowls, sandwiches and other dishes with natural ingredients. Reasonably priced and quick service. I ordered the Hawaiian poke bowl. Great flavors, fish wasn’t the greatest but other parts of the bowl were great. Friendly staff.

The food here is fantastic. It’s light, healthy and satisfying. I had the mango avocado tartar with a tuna taco and my partner had the Korean bibimbap. We both had a carrot juice mixture called “forever young”. I highly recommend a visit to Flax & Kale.
B C — Google review
Flax & Kale is hands down our favorite spot for vegan food in Barcelona. We ordered all vegan options and every dish blew us away. The nachos were loaded with flavor, the veggie tartare was fresh and creative, and the flatbread was hearty and perfectly seasoned. And the desserts absolutely to die for. Beautifully made, indulgent without being heavy, and the perfect way to end the meal. The atmosphere is modern and lively, the service is friendly, and the food is next-level. If you’re vegan (or even if you’re not), this place is a must-visit. Easily our favorite dining experience in the city!
Andrew G — Google review
The place has a beautiful interior with a great atmosphere. I really like the concept of the healthy options that are very tasty. However, for the price we paid, the portion sizes were quite small and because there was no protein, the dishes aren't considering the macronutrients and leaves you a little unsatisfied.
Anna T — Google review
The lady at the door not welcoming at all - as nice is the place as ugly was her treatment and attitude. and I had just said good morning and asked if the terrace is open. If I hadn t decided I wanted exactly to come here to eat I would ve definitely walked away. The place is beautiful and the waiter upstairs was really nice. Food is good and the terrace upstair is wonderful. Manners for the lady though - zero.

I didn’t eat any food, just passed by for a coffee and realized they have a roof top sitting area which do recommend go site at the top. Coffee was amazing that I ordered another just because why no, that’s why I rated the food as 5 star, other then that the atmosphere is calm, relaxing and cozy.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Ramen-ya Hiro is a down-to-earth diner that has gained popularity for its delicious rice bowls, gyoza dumplings, and ramen noodles with a variety of toppings. Established in 2012 by Hiroki Yoshiyuki, it quickly became a go-to spot for authentic ramen in Barcelona.
If you're ever in Barcelona, you have to check out this amazing ramen spot! The ramen here is incredibly delicious - one of the best I've ever had - and the prices are super reasonable. What makes it even better is the wonderful staff; they're so kind, friendly, and welcoming. The whole place just has such a warm and cozy vibe. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Don't miss this gem!
Yassin W — Google review
The flavors are solid, though not quite exceptional. What really stands out is the popularity; It’s always packed, so reservations are essential. The space is very small, which adds to the cozy vibe but might feel cramped during peak hours. Worth a try if you plan ahead!
Zixu S — Google review
Took a while to get a seat, but it was worth the wait. The menu was simple and the restaurant was very cozy similar to the ramen shops in Japan. Despite being very busy, service was pretty good and I even got to have a pleasant chat with the chef (who I also assume is the owner). Please give this ramen shop a chance whenever you are in the area!
Alan H — Google review
Ive tried 5 ramen bars in BCN and so far this is the closest to original taste. I ordered Miso since I like creamy ramen, it’s not really salty so I was able to finish the whole bowl. Price was reasonable too. You can walk it but you have to be wait since the queue might be long, so better to make a reservation.
Jaira Z — Google review
Was initially full of anticipation to try this ramen seeing the hype, but ended up being sorely disappointed. Although we did not have a reservation (advised for those who disliked queueing), we decided to go ahead and queue for a good 75 minutes (7:45pm - 9pm). Initially, they did not open the second store (mainly used for take out), but upon seeing the slow turnover rate, they eventually opened it and we were ‘fortunate’ to be the ones to be seated there. Upon taking our orders, we still had to wait another 15 minutes for 3 items to arrive— gyoza, miso ramen, soyu ramen. - gyoza was carelessly served, with the sauce spilling out of the condiment tray all over the gyozas, spoiling the integrity of the fried gyozas. Taste wise— it was decent but not top tier. - both ramen bowls were completely not up to par for a Japanese-owned ramen restaurant. Although most ramen cannot be compared to those in Japan itself, we were horrified to find out that the ramen broth was not genuinely boiled, but instead, it was made from instant concentrate, making it taste extremely artificial, with the broth clinging onto the tongue. Took a photo of the remaining sediments found at the bottom of the bowl, something not natural of elite ramen. Overall, experience was a huge let down, we were out of the restaurant within 15 minutes, after having queued for 5x as long. I didn’t even finish my bowl of noodles. Could have gone for instant cup noodles instead. Will never be back, will not recommend to anyone.
Caritas L — Google review
I went there at 13:00 noon. The restaurant was quite busy and the menu was very limited, but the ramen and dumplings tasted good. I highly recommend it.
Zhuo L — Google review
I wouldn’t recommend this place. Ramen was cheap (I guess this is why there is a really long queue to be seated), but it was average. The place was very crowded, noisy and dirty.

Lasarte, nestled within the elegant Condes de Barcelona Hotel, is a culinary gem that showcases the artistry of renowned Basque chef Martin Berasategui. Since its inception in 2006, this sophisticated restaurant has captivated food enthusiasts with its innovative tasting menus and exquisite wine pairings. Under the expert guidance of Chef de Cuisine Paolo Casagrande, Lasarte has evolved into a must-visit destination for those seeking an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
I enjoyed the €345 course. I regret that Google does not allow me to rate much higher than five stars... I interpreted it as a French-based creative dish, but is that correct? When I ate it while imagining the taste from the appearance of the dish, it was shown to be far beyond my expectations in terms of flavor, texture, aroma, and harmony. Personally, I was most impressed by the artichokes that blended with other ingredients such as mushrooms in a way I have never experienced before, the soup that brought together the depth of shrimp, and the unique approach to Wagyu beef that I have never seen in Japan. I also had a lot of high-quality wines, and was impressed by the value I felt at the bill. At other restaurants, there are cases where unnecessarily expensive items are served and the price tends to be inflated, but that is not the case at Lasarte. The service was also extremely sincere. I would definitely like to visit again.
Sean — Google review
Anyone giving this place less than five stars has forgotten what it means to go to places like this. The service was immaculate. The food was an experience with every bite. Could’ve been a good day for the restaurant or a bad one and I still would’ve had my mind blown. To say otherwise is pompous. Only critique would be to confirm the cost of certain add-ons like water and coffee.

A 5+ star experience lunch with amazing food, some great wine and incredible service from our server Samir and the Sommelier.  We had the 10 course Menu Degustacion … with appetizers and petit-fours it was more like 14 courses.  Along with some decaf coffee's it stretched out over sublime 3+ hours. Samir's professional yet approachable manner enhanced our experience significantly.  Our favorite dishes were the hamachi and oysters with cucumber, the prawns and barnacles with pineapple emulsion, and the marinated venison was the best I've ever had - which I told the chef when he visited our table at the end of our meal. Just brilliant.
Michael S — Google review
Lasarte offers a beautifully polished dining experience, with flawless and attentive service that truly enhances the meal. I have to highlight the breads served, which was genuinely one of the best I've ever had—such a delightful surprise! It's a bit ironic that, despite the exquisite tasting menu showcasing premium ingredients and refined techniques, my standout moment was the humble bread. While I recognize the skill and artistry in the dishes, I found myself hoping for a more memorable and unique experience that would leave a lasting impression, especially given the restaurant's three Michelin stars. Overall, it was a lovely evening, but I left wishing for that extra spark that would make for a memorable and an unique 3 Michelin star meal.
Darren — Google review
This is a completely honest and valid review, not an exaggeration, I promise. TL;DR based solely on the food for those too impatient to read the whole story- the food is "good" but not great whatsoever. Three Michelin stars be darned, a large number of dishes completely missed in a big way. And for the outrageous price tag, it is AT BEST a 2.5 or 3 out of 5 stars. So why am I giving it 1 out of 5 stars? My wife became violently ill after the meal, likely from food poisoning. The restaurant refused to even respond to my attempts to contact them. Introduction: bad first impression, so the place doesn't open until after 8pm...but our reservation was for 8:00 so we arrived 10 minutes early, naturally, and waited almost 30 minutes to be seen and seated. Drinks: we are not much for alcohol. My wife ordered a mocktail which was essentially apple juice mixed with 2 or 3 other elements that were completely lost and indistinguishable behind the apple juice base. That didn't stop them for charging us €18 for it. I asked for a beer menu, but the waiter insisted he recommend me a beer based on my preferences. I said I like German and Belgian style wheat beers. He recommended a pilsner...and it becomes apparent he doesn't actually know anything about beer, so I politely declined and ask for a local Spanish Lager instead. It was just okay. I wish I actually got to see a full beer menu. Appetizer: we ordered the tasting menu. The first bites and appetizers are mostly pretty good! The mushrooms and clams appetizer was tasty. The fennel was interesting, not bad but nothing special. The shrimp tartare tasted like almost nothing, which is honestly fine with me given that it was raw shrimp. The steak tartare also tasted like nothing, which was a shame because I love steak tartare. Bread: I hated the bread service here. They have 6 different types of bread, 5 types of butter, and a house made olive oil. All that is great. The main problem is they portion the bread out for you 1 to 2 pieces at a time between courses. You never get a chance to try a type of bread more than once, and if you get a type that you don't like then you're just sort of pressured to eat it anyway. Why does the customer not have the liberty to get all the bread at the table and once to taste and portion themselves their favorites? I experienced far better bread services at 1 and 2 Michelin star restaurants in the past. First courses: the courses here really struggled to land for me. The sea cucumber and octopus were alright but nothing special (there is a theme here). The "pineapple 5 ways" dish was utter slop: it was a contrast of texture and temperature preparations of pineapple that confused and annoyed the palate as opposed to tantalizing it. The scallops were fine but the mucousy base textures in the sauce surrounding it were offputting, to say the least. The ravioli was the best of the middle courses, it was al dente and delicious, and the foam around it gave it a nice textural contrast. Main course: the biggest miss of the night had to be the pork trotters. When your menu only has 2 main "meat" dishes and one of them is a piece of pork that is 90% fat and collagen, then it feels like a cheap experience. I like fatty meat as much as the next guy, but this "meat" ate like a foreign delicacy that locals would enjoy, not a main dish at a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Horrifyingly bad dish. The venison, in contrast, was absolutely delicious. Best venison I've ever had. Dessert: my favorite dish of the night might have been the white chocolate and pistachio dessert. It was amazing and unique. The second dessert was called "baba spheres" and that was pure nonsense. The spheres were tasteless, not sweet, not herbaceous, not bitter. Nothing. The petit fours were also just okay. Verdict: I've had better experiences at 1 Michelin star, 2 Michelin star, and fine dining restaurant without any stars across both Europe and the world. This was my first 3 Michelin star experience and will probably be my last. To pay a grand total of $875 USD for two people for
Andrew A — Google review
This restaurant completely ruined my trip in Barcelona. After dining here, for three consecutive days, I suffered severe diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. It likely came from either the undercooked barnacle or the rare Corzo meat. Instead of showing any concern, the staff denied responsibility and refused even basic reimbursement. For a 3-star Michelin restaurant, the arrogance and indifference were shocking. The place may look nice, but the people behind it showed no care for their guests.

I happened to find this place by chance, and every single dish was truly delicious. I also really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. Even though I wasn’t particularly hungry, since it was my last day in Barcelona, I ordered a variety of dishes. I had tried paella at other places before, but I always felt something was missing—yet the paella here was the best I had! The squid was tender, the seasoning was just right, and I loved that it wasn’t too salty. I was so happy to be able to enjoy my last meal in Barcelona here before leaving.

I recommend totally this restaurant. The food is excellent! I recommend especially the Iberian pork ribs and the bone free range chicken. The king scallop, langostine and iberian ham was excellent. Everything was fresh and you can degust every single spoon. The traditional spanish “Torrija” was delicious. This restaurant had the best sangria I’ve tried here in Barcelona. The service is excellent and the frame is very well made! It’s at the first floor. You can be not sure when you enter the building, but I assure you that you will be surprised by this restaurant.

We made the booking based on the positive reviews we found online. The restaurant did not disappoint. On par with some of the better places we've eaten in town this week. Ordered the octopus, seafood paella, iberian pork ribs and sangria. Octopus was good but I feel like I've had better. Would definitely recommend the paella, ribs and sangria though. Staff was very friendly and overall experience was good. Prices were fair for the quality. May want to bring a long sleeve as they tend to keep the AC high.

I absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant. Tucked just off La Rambla, central yet peaceful—close to the energy but away from the rush. This was by far the best meal I had in Barcelona! The service was amazing! And if not for them I would not have tried the sardine which was one of the best thing I have ever tasted! Octopus blew away anything others I tried and the cuddle fish paella was a very interesting flavor that only got better with each bite! The free shot with the crew at the end of the night to top it off made it that much more special if an experience!

Xurreria Laietana is a cozy, petite counter-serve in Barcelona that specializes in the beloved Spanish treat of churros and dipping chocolate. While the menu may be limited to this one item, it's clear that they excel at what they do. The churros are freshly made, crispy, and delicious, perfectly complemented by a rich and not overly sweet chocolate sauce.
Great experience. Not too sweet, just the right flavor since the churro place we went the day before was beyond sweet. Also, being a tourist attraction, I know in some places the service is a letdown but not this place. Everyone was welcoming and one of the ladies ran out to find us when we accidentally left our belongings there. So thank you! Highly recommend.

Cinc Sentits is a sleek and stylish restaurant that opened in May 2004, quickly becoming known for its high-quality contemporary Catalan cuisine. The self-taught chef, Jordi Artal, creates elegant dishes using local, organic, and wild ingredients. The minimalist decor provides an elegant backdrop to the new wave cooking.
Cinc Sentits is easily one of the best Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve experienced. The space is simple, modern, and welcoming. Upon arrival, you’re treated to a snack and cocktail prepared right in front of you. I love the attention to detail—they provide a card with each course, explaining where the ingredients are sourced and what’s in the dish. The sommelier was exceptional. I did the wine pairing, and each selection was flawlessly matched to the dishes—it was truly impressive! One wine even completely neutralized the fish aftertaste. The saffron curd dessert left a lasting impression—hands down the best dessert I’ve ever had. I highly recommend visiting; it’s absolutely worth the experience.
Jamie L — Google review
I have mixed feelings about our night at Cinc Sentits. There were some really special moments, and some things that for the price point weren’t so great. I will say that when we made the initial reservation the price online for the full tasting menu was around €169 pp. On the date of our visit the full tasting was €220, quite a jump without notice. Nowhere on the website does it say the price changes seasonally with the menu. They also offer a “light menu” option for €20 less. We asked the difference and it was three courses less than the full tasting and the full tasting would last around 3 hours. Pros: the food was absolutely spectacular. I’ve truly never tried dishes that were so innovative and full of flavor the way they craft their plates here. The wine pairing also was a nice accompaniment to the food, and being able to try wines from Catalonia without having to pour over and choose ourselves from the extensive wine menu was great. The service was also very attentive for certain aspects of the meal. Our water was always full, and the presentation of the dishes was really informative and thorough. Cons: The time. Even though we ordered the light menu, and got 3 less dishes than those with the full tasting we were still at our table for 3 hours, coursed out with every other table. The wine pairing, while nice to have, was at the end of the day only 2 and a half glasses of wine for over €100. I wish we had gotten one more type of wine. The appetizers didn’t include a pairing and the 3 desserts only came with one. Also the ambiance of the restaurant was very odd. There was no background music playing at all, so if you ever weren’t talking it was silent. It felt like you weren’t allowed to chat. Also the aesthetic of the restaurant felt cold. Maybe if there was music playing it might have warmed it up. But when you’re sitting for 15 minutes or more in between courses with silence because no one around you is speaking, it’s a strange feeling and makes the price you’re paying even more apparent. At the end of the day, the food is incredible but I’m not sure that outweighs the negatives of the experience or the hefty price tag.
Dina D — Google review
We had high expectations for Cinc Sentits after seeing its Michelin 2-star rating, but sadly, the dining experience tonight was far from what I would expect from such an establishment. Food Quality: The dishes lacked standout flavors and creativity. The duck was so tough it was almost impossible to chew, let alone swallow. The sardines were extremely fishy — one of us couldn’t finish the dish — and because it was served early in the menu, it set a very poor tone for the rest of the meal. Nothing in the progression of courses redeemed the experience. Service: The service team, while friendly and well-meaning, did not operate at a polished, professional Michelin level. Most of our servers spoke very limited English, so I understood only about 10% of their explanations, which greatly diminished the storytelling element that is usually a highlight in fine dining. The way plates were presented and cleared also felt unrefined for a restaurant of this caliber. Ambiance & Décor: The interior is minimal to the point of feeling cold and uninviting. There was no warmth, charm, or special atmosphere to elevate the dining experience, and nothing about the setting stood out as memorable. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and questioning how Cinc Sentits earned its 2 Michelin stars. I do not recommend this restaurant based on my experience, and I wish I had chosen another place for what was supposed to be a special evening.

We were a group in the show room which was an interesting experience. The 220€ tasting menu of a two stars Michelin restaurant could be better balanced(maridaje de vino 125€ plus), we felt like slightly missing a main meat dish compared to the full set of desserts… All the food was creative, elaborate and sophisticated including seasonal ingredients. The environment was okay not outstanding…2025-10-25

My second occasion dinning at Cinc Sentits and the experience was once again superb. We choose the longer menu with the wine pairing and I strongly encourage you to do the same. Remember this experiences usually take time so be ready to expend 3+ hours enjoying your dining experience. Service was professional, knowledgeable and friendly which we love. We will definitely be joining again and can someone please add this restaurant to the Worlds 50 Best.

A Symphony of the Senses – Cinc Sentits, Barcelona From the moment you enter Cinc Sentits, you realize this is not just a dinner — it’s a story. Every course is a chapter, every detail a whisper of Jordi Artal’s extraordinary journey from Silicon Valley to Michelin-starred poetry on a plate. The space is intimate and elegant, with a minimalist warmth that allows the food to take the spotlight. What unfolds is not merely a tasting menu, but an emotional narrative — rooted in Catalan memory, refined by modern technique, and delivered with precision and soul. The flavors are bold yet balanced, nostalgic yet inventive. Dishes arrive like gentle surprises: a spoonful of sea, a bite of the forest, a scent that brings you home. Even the welcome drink — served dramatically on a stone slab — felt like a ceremonial entry into another world. Service is impeccable but never cold. The staff flows like choreography, with quiet reverence for the experience they’re guiding you through. This is a restaurant where nothing is accidental. Where even the silence tastes good. Bravo, Cinc Sentits. You’ve redefined what it means to truly feel a meal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went here one time with a bigger group and really enjoyed the experience. 2 years later came back with my fiancee for a celebration, expecting another incredible evening, but the truth is we went back home quite disappointed. Let’s start with the good things first. The food is from a high level and is very beautifully presented. The design of the restaurant is great and very modern with a touch of the Catalan feeling. We were welcomed in a super warm and friendly manner and the first bites in the separate area before entering the restaurant are incredible. So, why were we disappointed? The atmosphere in the restaurant is super cold and distant. It feels even a bit awkward to talk because it is so silent inside. The waiters inside the restaurant didn’t give us a friendly feeling at all and made us feel like we were not welcome and kind of a burden. They are often just standing there on the side and were not helpful in any way. Also the chef/owner didn’t appear at any point in the evening, which made it again less personal than it already was. This is especially strange because they want to make the menu look like an experience in which you follow the different episodes in the life of the owner. Finally, we asked for the bill and they were bringing it to our table with again a not-friendly attitude and just told us “service is not included”, then immediately waited with the payment terminal to see what tip you would give. This is for a two Michelin star restaurant really unacceptable and made us leave with a very bad feeling like we were just used to squeeze our money. The price is already very high for what you get and this comment is not really making that any better. Overall disappointed and we will not come back. Sad, because after my first visit I really had the opposite feeling.

I liked everything about it , from the place to the service and ritual and obviously to the amazing food provided and and amazing chef. I see here more a 3 stars Michelin restaurant than a 2. A must go place for all the epicurean people

Sandwich shop
Bo de B is a popular counter-service cafe in Barcelona known for its bocadillo baguette sandwiches, hearty salads, and casual bites. The unassuming little sandwich joint always has a long queue outside as both tourists and locals flock here for some of the best bocadillos in town. The menu features dishes borrowing from Greek, Indian, and African cuisine, but the most appreciated is the famous bocadillo which has even gained its own hashtag.
So just imagine this: you're walking around Barcelona on a hot day, and you just want to have delicious, tasty sandwiches but still want to be healthy. Then you stumble upon this long line and it turns out it's just one of the best sandwich spots in Barcelona. Yes, it's cash only, but they will stack your sandwich, sauce it up however you like it. And you can customize it based on your personality or mood that day. This is a must-go spot in Barcelona and there's a reason there's a line there, but if you catch it one day where it's only a few people in line, you need to stop by. It's a calling.

Really nice atmosphere and lovely interior. It felt like being a guest in their living room. While preparing the food they had such a good vibe. It felt like they do your food with good intentions, i loved that. And the dish was so delicious and so big that i ate the rest for dinner. This place is perfect for you if you budget travel in Barcelona ☺️
Der L — Google review
Great sandwich shop in the city centre, very tiny and cash only (no card) but great value and taste. At busy times they make you wait outside and the queue and order system is a bit chaotic but the service is good and makes up for it. You have a variety of fillings for the sandwiches (around €6) that are freshly grilled (and warm bread!) and can add lots of salad and cheese. They have large platetters too (around €8). Recommend the beef and chicken. Nice music and toilets available if you manage to get seating. Halal and veg options if you have dietary requirements. Definitely worth a trip if you are in Barcelona!
Gulrez Z — Google review
Had the chicken sandwich here and customized it with feta, olives, red cabbage, and salad, turned out absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors worked perfectly together. What really stood out is the value: the price-performance ratio is outstanding, especially considering the quality and portion size. It’s a small spot, but it feels original and authentic. Inside, there’s a good fast-paced vibe, yet it still manages to feel welcoming and lovely at the same time. Definitely a hidden gem for anyone who loves a great sandwich at a fair price. I’ll be back to try other combinations for sure.

Highly recommend visiting this place. Don't visit on weekends as the queue can get insane. The food tastes amazing and is very affordable. The service was great and the atmosphere is amazing right by the beach in the old streets of Barcelona. This is a must visit in Barcelona.

Superb taste and super value. We had sandwiches, beef and tuna, so much flavour 😋 We took a 30 minute bus ride back there today and had the same but on a plate. As the pics show, the presentation and value is fabulous. Thoroughly recommended 👌 😋😋😋
Tim W — Google review
Writing this review while eating cause this place deserves a 5 star. Amazing oriental salads and sandwiches. And you get a huge portion! The staff is doing a great job at being friendly and fast even though high pressure and hot inside. You can see why there is a line to order here. Pretty small place but you can take away. (They only take cash)
Danijela A — Google review
This was one of the best price-performance dinner I have eaten in Barcelona. The only minus was that they stored raw meat and chicken on the same plate; maybe it would be healthier to separate them. But other than that, beef&zalziki is very delicious, and the portion is enough.

Spanish restaurant
El Nacional Barcelona is a renowned dining destination housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century building on Passeig de Gracia. The grandeur of its decor, with high ceilings and elegant arches, creates an elevated European food hall atmosphere. What sets it apart is the presence of four distinct dining spaces and bars, each offering something unique. From grilled meats to Spanish seafood and tapas, this restaurant features five different culinary experiences under one roof.
El Nacional consisted of 10 restaurants. The interior was huge, beautifully decorated and crowded with people. There were toilets at the far end of the whole building. There was a short queuing line, and the waiting time was still bearable. For dinner we had Spanish Chulleton (1kg of meat that was) for sharing, with some side dishes and estrella beer @ La braseria. The steak was huge. It was a bit raw for me, but hubby enjoyed it. It's better not to go there on the weekend, to avoid long queue.
Karina A — Google review
I ordered the burger, and the least I expected was for it to be cooked properly. I asked for medium and got rare, which really ruined the dish. Since it was served without a bun or vegetables, I expected the patty itself to be top quality, but it really wasn’t. Same with the steak, asked for medium, got rare. The fries were okay but very oily and it was hard to ignore. The stuffed artichoke with meat was alright, nothing special. The dessert was disappointing too. The chocolate on top was bitter and tasted like coffee. If you’re looking for something sweet, this isn’t it. I’m sure the ice cream would be a much better option. The good parts were the nice atmosphere, the great location, and the friendly service. But overall, for the money, I expected way better food.
Ori O — Google review
It’s just such a warm and fanatic place to spend time. The yellow light itself is already so inviting. The venue is filled with small details of clever and cozy decoration. Although the different restaurants have their individual styles the whole venue comes together nicely. The mixture of old parts rusty steel stairs and accurately arranged dinner tables - so charming. I’ve had no food or any drinks. So I can’t comment on food and drinks.
Thilo B — Google review
had lunch at the seafood restaurant inside El Nacional last Sunday, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the elegant yet welcoming atmosphere. El Nacional is a unique concept with several dining spaces under one roof, and the seafood section is truly a gem for anyone who loves fresh and flavorful dishes. The food was outstanding. Every plate I tried was prepared with care and attention to detail. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in delivering high-quality dishes that showcase the best of Mediterranean seafood. The presentation was also beautiful, making the meal feel special. What really made the experience memorable was the service. The staff was courteous, professional, and very attentive without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions, which made me feel well taken care of throughout the meal. Dining alone can sometimes feel awkward, but here I felt completely comfortable and welcomed. If you are in Barcelona and want an exceptional seafood experience in a stylish setting, El Nacional is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Yashar S — Google review
El Nacional Barcelona is an impressive and unique dining venue that stands out for its amazing architecture and stunning interior design. The decorations and lighting create a warm, elegant atmosphere that makes the visit worthwhile on its own. Inside, there are several restaurants and bars, each offering a different culinary experience, which adds to the charm and variety of the place. We chose to eat at the tapas restaurant, and while the presentation was nice, the food was only average and didn’t quite match the high-end setting. The prices were somewhat on the expensive side, especially considering the quality of the dishes. However, the ambiance and style of the venue make it a great spot to stop by for a few drinks or light bites. It’s an ideal place to enjoy the atmosphere and people-watch, even if you decide to dine elsewhere afterward. Overall, El Nacional is more about the experience and setting than the food itself, but it’s definitely worth a visit while in Barcelona.
Attila S — Google review
I went there at the end of August 2025. The place is pretty, and the staff is very kind and attentive, so the hospitality was impeccable from start to finish. I didn’t have to wait long to be served drinks at la Braseria restaurant. I felt that the main courses were a bit limited; I was expecting a bit more, but the choices are still quite varied. I had chicken and potatoes: the dish was good, but it was a little lacking in salt and seasoning. The chicken and potatoes were well cooked, but there were only four slices of potato. There was also good music playing in the background. Overall, it was a good experience.
Maimouna S — Google review
As we do, we were exploring and came across an inviting walkway leading to El National. I would describe El National as an upscale food court. We found prices to be reasonable and enjoyed sitting at the wine bar and watching all the activity.

This public eatery is the most gorgeous and well thought out place I’ve stepped in, and a gem to be at in Barcelona. It’s a must visit. Though touristy and pricier than other areas, the architecture and design was breathtaking. Our paella was 7/10 but didn’t have the crispy rice texture. We got cocktails at a different joint and they were perfectly balanced 8.5, would come back. Service was good, straightforward. But in a funny note, even the WC restrooms were so beautiful and unique. Check it out.

Nestled in the heart of Barcelona, Bubita Sangria Bar is a vibrant and cozy spot that perfectly captures the essence of Spanish dining with a vegan twist. This delightful eatery boasts an eclectic decor that sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary experience. With a menu brimming with plant-based tapas and paella, it’s a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious vegan options in this bustling city.
I went 2 times during my trip. Delicious paella, but I did not care for the vegan chicken because it was too meaty for me. With that being said if you like the taste of real chicken you'd probably like it, otherwise stick with the veggie one. Tapas, desserts, and drinks were all amazing.
Victoria B — Google review
Bubita Sangria Bar is a must-visit in Barcelona! We ordered a variety of tapas (see photos) and every single dish was incredible. The presentation is beautiful, the flavors are bold and creative, and the quality is top-notch. The stuffed peppers were rich and flavorful, the croquettes had the perfect crisp with a delicious filling, and the gnocchi with sauce was comforting yet elevated. Everything felt thoughtfully crafted and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and it pairs perfectly with their sangria. This is the kind of spot you want to linger at enjoying dish after dish. Highly recommend if you’re looking for amazing tapas in Barcelona!
Andrew G — Google review
I came to Bubita Sangria mainly to try their vegan paella, and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s not easy to find vegetarian or vegan paella in Barcelona, so having that option was a big plus and it actually tasted really good. That said, the breakfast was a total disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend the bagel or the breakfast menu in general, as it really didn’t live up to expectations. Overall, if you’re looking for vegetarian or vegan options in Barcelona, this spot is worth checking out especially for the paella. Just skip the breakfast.
Pratik S — Google review
This was one of the best tapas I’ve ever had! I usually struggle with finding good tapas that I can actually eat, because restaurants usually don’t have a lot of vegetarian options. As a vegetarian I love trying as much vegan food as possible, and this was heaven!! I didn’t miss the meat and cheese at all! Even if you usually eat meat at home, this place is still amazing. The “salmon” tasted and even smelled like real salmon. And the cocktails were super super good! The staff was also super friendly, and the atmosphere was so cozy! The prices are also very decent. I would recommend this place to everyone!!

We found this place per incidence on the hunting for a nice brunch place. The vegan options are deliciously prepared, fresh and wonderful in taste. We were very satisfied. Next to brunch options you get to choose from a small variety of tapas as well. The location is relaxed, the interior and exterior very cozy and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!

Bubita Sangria Bar is a cozy small bar for a delicious and authentic plant-based dining experience in Barcelona. Its focus on vegan Spanish tapas and its excellent sangria have earned it a loyal following. Whether you're a local or a tourist, it's a great place to stop for a flavorful meal and a refreshing drink in a charming neighborhood.
Sevda M — Google review
Dinner here was fun, even though it wasn't the best food we ate in Barcelona. The staff are super sweet and the interior is creative and camp. The unique house made sangrias are yum - I had the Frida, spiked with tequila and chilli. We shared the dips (the creamy edamame was my favourite, the others were good but nothing special), the paella stuffed peppers were excellent, but the baked gnocchi was a bit disappointing (a little dry and the sauce was the same as the sundried tomato dip we ate). The ginger and lemon tart caught my eye but I couldn't fit it in so went back a few days later and enjoyed a slice with coffee in the afternoon.

Its labyrinth-like layout provides a unique shopping experience where visitors can discover exotic spices alongside traditional Catalan ingredients.
We walked down from Park Guella and wandered into this awesome market. It was different than that tourist market on Las Rambles, but was awesome. If I lived here, I would visit it every day. Super fresh seafood, meat, fruit and veggies. Worth a visit!

Want to visit a historical market - established in 1888 - where locals go ( nope, not like tourist infested La Boqueria)? Well, El mercado de la Llibertat de Barcelona is the one for you. Designed by architect Pasqual Tintoret for the neighborhood of Gracia, it's a structure of iron and exposed brick, designed to offer protection to all kinds of food: fruit and vegetables, fish, legumes, jamon and chorizo of course, and more. Inside, we are greeted by open, wide and high spaces, with food stalls arranged next to each other. Pretty much like La Boqueria albeit a much smaller but authentic version. It's pleasant to be able to look at one's leisure the products which are displayed, without the jostling crowds and the noise.

Garage Beer Co is a laid-back brewpub located in the heart of Eixample, Barcelona. Since its establishment in 2015, it has become a popular destination for beer enthusiasts. The spacious and relaxed setting offers an array of locally crafted beers on tap and delectable light bites. The brewery's industrial decor adds to its unique charm, with a microbrewery at the end of the square where visitors can taste some of their craft beers from 8 taps.
What a great mix of local and international at this craft beer establishment. I thought they had a fantastic mix of IPA (4?), stout and lager and no need to go anywhere else. I was impressed with the quality and went in a bit cynical by living in the US / NC. Service was great and Daniel was a great host. Apparently if you order enough they may get you the last one... Great vibe and music too- Definitely glad I went!

A short walk from Plaça de Catalunya, Garage is THE craft beer destination for Barcelona. Their base core beer 'Soup' is a very capable 6%abv NEIPA style with classic Citra and Mosaic hops. They do a few slight variations with Amarillo, Rakau etc., and these formed the basis of a large can takeaway for a couple of days in Montserrat. Great brewpub taproom feel with a view of the brew house at the back. Great vibe, great crowd and great beer. I even bought a t-shirt :-)

7 Portes is a renowned Catalan restaurant in Barcelona, known for its old-world charm and delicious seafood dishes, especially the classic paella. Established in 1836, this iconic restaurant has an elegant 19th-century decor with seven dining salons. The menu offers regional dishes served in generous portions, including fish zarzuela, various paella options, fresh seafood, and hearty stews.
We celebrated my mother’s 86th birthday at 7 Portes, and it was truly a night to remember! From the moment we walked in, the staff made her the star of the restaurant. Our waiters, Javier and Marcos, were attentive, warm, and made the evening so special. We started with a sampler platter of croquettes, salads, and toasts—each dish full of flavor. To drink, we decided on a pitcher of red sangria. It was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. For the main course, we enjoyed the lobster paella and a seafood tower that was as impressive as it was delicious. I was the only one brave enough to try the snails, and to my surprise, they were wonderful—I’d eat them again! Dessert was the perfect finale: crème brûlée, sorbet, and cheesecake with fresh figs for the birthday girl. The staff surprised her with whipped cream, a candle, and led the entire restaurant in singing happy birthday. She cried the happiest tears and said this was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you, 7 Portes, for giving us a meal—and a memory—that we’ll treasure forever. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Barcelona!

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was elegant and calm, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and truly professional. We started with appetizers, and while we were enjoying our conversation, the main courses arrived — perfectly timed, neither too fast nor too slow. The service quality was simply top-notch. As for the flavors — INCREDIBLE. Honestly, even their bread and olive oil alone would be a reason for me to come back. The seafood paella was perfectly balanced, and the marinated oyster inside was the real star of the night. The lamb we ordered as an extra dish was also cooked to perfection — tender, seasoned just right, and full of flavor. I definitely recommend dedicating one of your evenings in Barcelona to this place. Considering the quality, taste, and ambiance together, the prices are absolutely worth it — more than fair. 👌🏻✨

Had an amazing dining experience at 7 Portes in Barcelona! Their paella was one of my favorites in Spain perfectly seasoned, not too salty, and beautifully balanced with vegetables. The cannelloni was another highlight, rich and full of flavor, and the tomato bread complemented everything so well. ### Restaurant Review: Late-Night Comfort at Bar Bitàcora After some bar hopping around Barceloneta, our party decided to stop by Bar Bitàcora for late-night snacks. The interior had a marine theme, paying homage to the Mediterranean coast that Barcelona thrives on. No pretence here—it’s a place where you eat, drink, and let the experience speak for itself. The menu offered tapas-style dishes. Not elevated, but exactly the kind of food people want, and exactly what we needed. #### Highlight The Bombas. Arancini-like potato balls with a crispy exterior and soft interior. Paired with chilli sauce, they hit the late-night hunger spot deep inside my belly. #### Expected More More outdoor seating. I get that space is limited, but enjoying moments like this outside on a pleasant night would be ideal. So, until next time, keep exploring and keep tasting. Yours in food, H. Griboi

A wonderful bar with great wine and tapas to enjoy whilst people watching and absorbing the beautiful church and architecture of BCN. The service deserves a mention as the young lad serving us was very attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend if you are wanting a great glass of wine in BCN.

I went on advices from a friend. I'm sommelier and honestly for the wine lovers, the winelist by grasses is large and th one by the bottle is huge. I was nicely surprised by the prices of french wines espaccially in Burgundy and Jura two places victims from speculation. Please go without any hesitation

My mom and I stopped by Vinya Del Señor for some casual tapas and a drink. We were lucky to get a table outside, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was amazing and the service was great too. My mom tried pork cheeks for the first time — they came with a sherry sauce and were absolutely delicious and the dishes I had were very tasty as well.

Great spot for vino. Try many different glasses or enjoy a bottle from their extensive wine list at great prices

As a wine lover, i must say that: my all time favourite Winebar of all time. Great catalan comfy bar food! Superb service and an amazing wine list! When in Barcelona i will return there always! Cheers from Greece!

Visitors can enjoy a selection of hot and cold tapas, gourmet conservas, and house vermouth.
Amazing food, service and art! Loved every moment! Ask the staff for for recommendations and you will eat the most amazing meal. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Barcelona. ♥️♥️♥️

Loved everything about this place! So glad I had the opportunity to try their delicious food! Everything was perfect, the place, the food and the service. The menu is in Spanish but the waitress explained us all and made it easy to choose.

We were lucky enough ran into a pharmacy store whose owner speaks fluent English. He strongly recommended us this place if we want something really local. We did, and it was definitely one of best dinning experience we had in Barcelona. Simple menu, not fancy however very cozy settings. Pork shoulder baked with potatoes is a must try IMHO.
JEFF L — Google review
The waitress was friendly and gave us suggestions, (we don’t speak spanish) explaining the tapas even thought it was very busy. We ate all the food she suggested and it was delicious. Great food and service. Will definitely come here again.

Wow! Easily some of the best artichokes and pork while in Barcelona. Great casual place to enjoy some delicious tapas.

Really nice cosy place with a good choice of wine, drinks and tapas. Tuna belly salad is to die for and vermut is great.
AnITa_day — Google review
A stark gap between reviews and reality. The menu is extremely basic and the wine list is extremely limited and uninteresting. For foodies and wine enthusiast please avoid. Even though the staff are friendly and it’s a chill spot to get beers and cocktails.

A really great, spacious bar in Sant Antoni with. We were a group of 14 or more who came for a birthday without a reservation, and the owners were very kind and helped us find a table that could fit all of our group. Drinks are reasonably priced and made with love. Overall a great bar with friendly people working there - highly recommended
