You see photos everywhere, but nothing compares to standing in front of it and realizing how enormous and detailed it really is. Designed by Antoni Gaudí, construction started in 1882 and it’s still not finished but it's coming to an end. There’s something amazing about seeing a building that’s been growing for more than a century and continues to evolve with each generation continuing Gaudi's vision. Every part of it tells a story: the Nativity Façade is full of life and nature, while the Passion Façade is dramatic and emotional. Inside, the light through the stained-glass windows looks magical — it changes color throughout the day and fills the space with warmth, peace and wonderful colours. Even with all the crowds, the atmosphere is calm and awe-inspiring. It really feels like a place where art, faith, and nature come together. It's one of the most beautiful landmarks on the world. Book tickets online in advance and go early in the morning if you want to avoid long lines. And if you can, climb one of the towers — the view over Barcelona is unforgettable.

The Sagrada Familia is incredible. We did a guided tour which was great for a couple reasons. One, we got to walk pass the line with our guide which saved us time. Also, our guide was able to give us so many details about the structure we wouldn't have noticed otherwise. We went during the Golden Hour, which is when the sun is setting and the light shines through the stain glass, creating a Golden light. The details in the structure from the outside to the inside is spectacular. Highly recommend getting tickets way in advance so you don't miss out on the Sagrada Familia.

We had a guided tour. We don't normally do this but in this case it was necessary. The guide was informative amusing and personable. As for the Sagrada Familia itself, quite simply WOW! It was everything we had been told and so much more. The explanations of Gaudi's reasoning for the various aspects of the design brought the whole building into focus. It is truly an experience. The company we used was The Tour Guy. If all their guides are as good as ours you cannot go wrong. It may seem costly but IMHO it's worth it.

When in Barcelona, you have to visit the masterpiece of Gaudí. Book your tickets in advance and also get a guided tour. It will be a tour of around two hrs and your guide will explain about each and everything. This place is not just a church it’s a masterpiece of human kind. This place is an experience that you must do. I will recommend to visit either early in morning at the time of sunrise or in evening around 4pm at sunset. You will experience the place at its best and you will able to see the importance of time and light in the church. It’s the best architecture i have ever seen. Must book your tickets at-least 20 days in advance and also choose the tower access for the best views in city.

We booked ​a​ guided tour in advance, which made entry smooth and stress-free. ​The tours have a dedicated line making clearing security and entering the Basilica easy and highly recommended ​for the information provided by the guides making the experience more memorable​. Allow at least ​60-90 minutes to fully take it in, and don’t rush. Whether you’re religious or not, this is a place that inspires reflection and wonder.​ You are welcome to sit and reflect in one of the pews or simply rest your feet. You can buy tickets to view Barcelona from the top or visit the basement for more history and the gift shop. Unlike any church or basilica you will see.

The buildings are great, but you can see them from the street, from the main entrance, so it's not worth buying a ticket. It's true that the park has other beautiful places than the well known Gaudi's buildings, but we wanted to visit it for this only reason and we left disappointed

If Gaudi knew his masterpieces would be turned into a tourist trap THIRSTING for money, he would be disgusted. I bought the tickets. Had an accident, couldn't attend exactly at the time that I had scheduled the tickets. They couldn't do anything. Not even get me a discount. Come on, do better. Ok, bought new tickets. The park is interesting, Gaudi never misses. Is it worth it paying 18 euros? Of course not. Stand outside the gates and you will see 95% of everything worth seeing. The workers are unprepared. There are so many nice things to see in Barcelona, if you don't have a lot of time, don't bother coming here.

Make sure to buy your tickets online beforehand or you likely won’t get in. Entrance fee is a little steep for what it is but nevertheless, still a great Gaudi experience. The place gets overly crowded so that definitely takes away from the overall experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute must-see in Barcelona! Park Güell is a truly wonderful place – full of color, art, and magic – but make sure to visit with a guide! We had an amazing tour with Aurelija, and every single step of the park was beautifully explained and brought to life. Thanks to her stories and insights, we saw Park Güell through completely new eyes. A perfect experience – absolutely worth visiting! 🌿✨

Come in the morning to avoid crowds, fresh air, and plenty of time to enjoy the colorful architecture and birds flying around. The panoramic view of Barcelona is absolutely beautiful! Tip: have your breakfast before coming, as there are only vending machines inside.

Was a very interesting place to walk around to see Gaudí genius at work. However, it can’t match up with his other masterpiece, Sagrada Família. Nothing much does. Not even close ! In my opinion but worth a walk through but beware it’s 18 Eyries each overall around and some of the inside park attractions are extra. I added some pics of the more popular spots in this park. It's definitely a must-see when you're in Barcelona. The park features works by Antoni Gaudí. It takes about two hours to tour, and offers both a peaceful park and city views, as well as places to admire the works. You won't regret it..

Great art and story telling. Well presented. Clean and well maintained facilities. Staff are all courteous and well informed. You can buy tickets from 9AM to 2PM if you want to visit on the same day, same hours. After that time tickets normally are sold out. It's recommended to get the tour with the audio version to appreciate the experience more.

I absolutely loved Picasso. And if I may dare to say this, I loved it more than Prado! It was very easy to understand Picasso's progression of thought and art work as he grew in life. His works evolve from simple sketches to advance arts and there is certainly a reflection of his life's events impacting his art works. The audio guide worked well, though I really wish audio guides would somehow simply start narrating based on the position we are in...instead of us trying to locate which painting the audio guide was referring to. Anyhow, the audio guides worked well...and we're actually quite interesting.

Great museum. Lovely experience. It is in the gothic quarter, located across 4 or 5 old buildings which is lovely and unique in itself! It's is well laid out and easy to see everything. There are loads of cafes and restaurants around the area too to enjoy before or after

This experience turned out to be more engaging than I expected. Normally I lean toward fine arts rather than contemporary styles, but Picasso’s reinterpretation of Velázquez’s Las Meninas truly captured me. The cubist version breaks down the familiar scene into fragments of geometry and colour, yet somehow keeps the solemn presence of Velázquez’s original. I was also moved by drawings of his family — Françoise Gilot, who worth-mentioning is also a talented artist, and their two children. They revealed a tender side of him. Those simple, almost spontaneous lines conveyed warmth and domestic peace. There is also vast collection in this museum of his earlier, more classical and impressionistic works that reminded me how technically gifted he was before Cubism. I found those early paintings no less appealing — soft brushwork, human emotion, and the kind of light that feels alive. This museum is included in the Barcelona museum passport, without which one’d better book ticket online in advance.

A must-visit for art lovers! I spent around 3 hours at the Picasso Museum and it was absolutely worth it. The collection offers a fascinating journey through Picasso’s early works and artistic evolution. I especially enjoyed his “Pigeons” series — really captivating pieces. The museum is well-organized, with helpful information panels and a beautiful layout. If you’re coming to Barcelona and even remotely interested in art, this place should definitely be on your list.

We were fortunate to catch the Magic Fountain show on our last night in Barcelona (Thursday it also runs on Fridays and Saturdays). We arrived around 8:30 pm and found seats on the benches opposite the fountains. If you’d like one of the popular spots on the museum steps, I’d suggest getting there earlier, but our view was still great - even standing closer to the fountains worked well. The pre-show began around 8:45 pm, with the main show starting at 9 pm and lasting well over 30 minutes. It was much better than I expected, with lights and water dancing to popular soundtracks. There was a lovely family atmosphere all around. Totally recommend catching it if you’re in Barcelona on one of the show nights!

One of the most amazing spectacles in the world! A must see on any sight seeing agenda! It has just reopened, after 3 years of drought restrictions, and renovations, and it is now back with a bang! I saw it on Sunday night to mark the finale of Barcelona’s festivities, when over 110,000 people came to watch the show, snd what a wonder it was to behold! Over 3 hours of the fountain dancing to music and lit in beautiful colours, and then a 30 minute fire work display to top it all off! This was a truly magnificent sight, mesmerisingly beautiful and truly magic… will i be back… yes i will…😀

Walk to the very top in front of the art museum, fantastic view across the whole city ! , I think the fountains are only turned on on certain days as both times we visited they weren’t turned on, so worth checking, it’s best to visit this area at dusk to late evening to get a great view, it’s not too steep to climb to top for the best view as there’s outdoor escalators most of the way up ! Although some of them weren’t working

Went there at 8 pm to seethe Magic Fountain. Very nice show and there are tons of people there to see the show. Luckily the place is so large that you can easily get good vantage points to see the two shows that run back to back between 8 and 9 pm. Highly recommend visiting this place on the weekends as the shows are confined to Fri-Sun evenings.

Finnaly is this Fountain working. Shows every fryday and saturday from 21h (on October) and from 20h from November- December 2025. Beautiful show. Must see. I recommend to come 30 minutes or one hour after the start of the show, because many people leaves and this time and you have better view with less people.

What a nice way to end my vacation. That and some tapas as 10:30 at night. The palace was also incredible with amazing night time views. Can Barcelona get any better?? ❤️

Such a fun and lively market! You can find all kinds of food here fresh fruit, juices, snacks, and tapas. I tried the strawberries with Nutella which is quite safe and they were delicious! The caramelized peanuts were also amazing. I wouldn’t really recommend the empanadas though they tasted a bit old. But overall, it’s a great place to wander around and you’ll definitely find something tasty to try!

Stopped by the Mercado and there were so many amazing options it was hard to choose where to eat. We ended up at this spot, and overall it was really good — great vibe, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. The only miss for me was the patatas bravas — not my favorite — but everything else hit the spot. Perfect place to grab a bite while exploring the market!

What an experience with all the colours, smells and impressions in such density. More on my experience in 3 detailed comments: #1 variety This is huge - at least on the first glance. I’ve walked through most corridors and saw a repetition of products just presented slightly differently. Mostly fish, fruits, bakery, sweets. #2 quality That really depends on the seller. We had dragon fruit and pomegranate seeds which were both rather tasteless. So watch out for the fruits. The bocadillos we had form the big place right in the middle were so good we came back to this stand 3 days in a row. #3 overall experience In parts overwhelming yet definitely worth a visit. #4 bonus tip The access through the back door entrance from Carrer del Carme is much easier because it’s less crowded. Fun fact: By the time I did this review (Oct. 2025) this market at about 25.000 reviews on google maps more than the Brandenburger Gate. It’s a bit absurd and bizarre that food attracts more comments than a historical monument.

An interesting market with ready made seafood, tacos, tapas, paella, juices, fresh fruits, nuts and dried fruits. Also have raw meats and beef. Many people are trying food and drinks enjoying the products. Most of the nuts and dried fruits stalls offer samples when you walked by. Despite the vibrant color and varieties, we are skeptical to try. Juices and dried fruits color are so vibrant suggesting food colouring might be used. Given the summer temperature the cooked food are all pre-packed and placed in room temperature counter, not really feel very hygienic for bacterial growth. Worth a visit however we did not buy anything from there.

Great selection of local food. Not everything on the best price but it’s all at the same place. Visited around 10 am Monday. Place was not crowded. All stalls were open. Pay extra care to your belongings.. but nothing happened to us. Recommend to see in Barcelona.

While we decided to admire it from the outside (not uncommon since there’s a ticket fee), we were delighted by how charming the area around the church is. It’s tucked away in a nice, shaded corner, perfect for a little respite from the heat. Plus, you can enjoy a lovely stroll around the pretty surroundings!

Santa Maria del Mar is a special and very peaceful church. From the moment you step inside, the soaring ceilings and elegant Gothic arches fill you with awe. The light filtering through the colorful stained glass casts a serene glow over the stone floors, creating a perfect space to pause and reflect. The intricate sculptures and statues of saints are both beautiful and inspiring, telling stories of faith and devotion across the centuries. Built in the 14th century by the people of Barcelona’s Ribera district, this church was funded and constructed by ordinary citizens, not royalty or nobles. Walking through its nave, you can feel the dedication and pride of the community that raised it, stone by stone. A fire destroyed the Baroque decorations, leaving the interior simple and uncluttered. This simplicity is part of its charm, allowing both the architecture and modern art or sculpture to be fully appreciated. This is a place to slow down, sit quietly, and let the noise of Barcelona fade away. The combination of ancient craftsmanship, open space, and the quiet reverence of the few visitors gives the church a sense of deep peacefulness. This cathedral took my breath away. It honestly is not the fanciest or the most elaborate in the area, but learning the story of how this church came to be was incredibly interesting. This is the church of the people, built by local peasants that were no longer welcome in the Cathedral de Barcelona. It took 60 years to construct. Over the front doors there are peasants carrying the blocks and stones which the cathedral is built from. These stones were quarried from Montjuic. Not having much money or equipment the peasants brought the bricks mostly on their back. The labour and love that went into this building meant a lot to me. It is an incredibly gloomy and dark cathedral, very different to the more elaborate cathedrals in and around Barcelona. We sat and contemplated this church and took it all in. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. The entrance is 5€ but if you go after 6pm it is free. If you are on a tight budget.

Really a must see if in Barcelona, the sagrada familia takes all the fame and sure from the exerior this isn't as impressive, but from the interior it definitely holds it's own and in my opinion I even prefer it to the sagrada familia, if this was in any other city other than Barcelona it would be more world renowned.

The basilica is breathtaking from the inside, absolutely worth visiting! I think the base ticket is good enough, the more expensive ticket doesn’t let you see much more.

If you are visiting Barcelona, this is definitely a must! The outside of the Sagrada Família is huge and very detailed. You can take some really great pictures and videos if you find the right angles. We were part of a private tour with only 9 people including us, and our tour guide did a wonderful job explaining the history and process behind building the cathedral, along with the symbolism of certain parts of the building. I heavily recommend you also pay for a tour as well, because it was interesting learning about the cathedral. The inside of the cathedral was even more jaw-dropping than the outside, as the colored window panes casted beautiful rainbow all around the interior. The architecture and structure of the cathedral was so complex and impressive and I definitely recommend you take time to just look around at your surroundings and see everything for yourself. There is also a museum and a gift shop you can visit at the end, and I bought two pencils, a mini replica of a colored window pane, and a pin to add to my back pack. You should definitely come here if you want to be in awe!

A beautiful exterior. The whole area ( called the gothic region) had amazing buildings. We don’t go inside ( there is a €16 entry fee) but walked around the whole area. There were street performers and interesting shops. A place you must see if in Barcelona’s.

We purchased ticket online to enter but we also we walked around and there are some areas of free entry. It is a beautiful building in the gothic quarter and very interesting to walk around. Inside the church is spectacular and the audio guide is one of the best we have had. You can get access to the terrace which has a great view of the city. The architecture and history is incredibly interesting and I loved the geese. I would highly recommended visiting.

Visited the Barcelona Cathedral and had a great experience. We got tickets on the spot—super easy—and they open around 9:30 a.m., which is perfect to beat the crowd. Barcelona Cathedral is one of the most impressive examples of Gothic architecture and a magnificent structure located in the city's historic center. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, the cathedral stands out for both its fine stonework on its exterior and its elegant towers. The cathedral is a stunning piece of Architecture. At the time of this review loads of work has been completed but it is quite clear they arent close to completing it. Be prepared for the large masses of people as due to construction fences and certain pathways being closed its very much shoulder to shoulder.

Really loved seeing the Cathedral of Barcelona — it was such a beautiful and impressive sight! After that, I walked through the Gothic Quarter on the way, and I absolutely loved the vibe and the narrow historic streets. A wonderful experience overall!

The views from the top are fantastic. Unfortunately not a huge amount to see/do other than the aforementioned view. If you go on a hot day be wary that there are not many places to escape the sun although on the top floor there is a nice breeze. The cable car journey to and from had equally good views.

I have a mixed review. It is not a trip i would recommend with small kids in the summer. We made this mistake. The cable car ride is fun for them, but getting there is a bit hectic via the metro, then funicular, then a line to get on the cable car. and then after the rather expensive ($12 and up pp) 5 minute ride there is not much for them to do. And for summer of course the heat is intense with no place for relief. Also no public restrooms up top unless u pay to go into the castle. No place to buy water up top either so definitely bring coins to buy from the street vendors. The views are amazing. For adults, it is great! There is a castle to explore at an extra cost. Great for walks/hikes/biking etc. I imagine in cooler weather it is nice to have a family picnic here. But i really do not recommend for kids in the middle of summer. Also although u can take a stroller up, at the top the path is very big uneven bricks. Beautiful and historic but ur stroller wont make it. We took some great pics but it was 3 very hot hours and we regret it. My advice is go without kids for a great, active day of exploration.

So Montjuic park has this cable car lift. Let’s gooooo! Want to hover above the Barcelona like an eagle? Step right into this glass pod of mild vertigo and great views. This is the cable car you have to take to get up to Montjuic Castle. This is a must do for the views.

Definitely worth a visit but don’t base your trip on the review pictures. I think there have been several folks that were confused about where they were. The castle looks nothing like the headline photos in the reviews. It’s still impressive just not what is pictured. 100% ride the cable car. Well worth it for the views and time savings, plus it’s fun! The castle itself was going through some remodeling when we visited so the museum was closed but we still enjoyed our time there. The random “this is where the metric system was figured out” info alone was worth the trip.

Montjuïc was one of the most enjoyable parts of my visit to Barcelona. It’s a perfect place to escape the crowds and explore at a slower pace. The views from the top are absolutely stunning. I bought the tickets in advance with the cable car to go up and down and it was totally worth it! There’s so much to see up there: the Montjuïc Castle 🏰, beautiful gardens like the Jardins de Joan Maragall 🌺, and even some cool museums like the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) 🖼️. I took the cable car up and it was such a fun way to see the city from above 🚡 — highly recommended! It’s a great mix of history, nature, and culture. Whether you’re into walking, photography, or just relaxing with a great view, Montjuïc has something for everyone. It feels like a different world compared to the busy city center. Take your time, bring water, and wear good shoes, it’s a big area with lots to explore. I’m really glad I didn’t skip it!

The views are phenomenal and I imagine if you visit towards sunset or sunrise then it adds that extra 'wow' on top. Our route was very quiet, we didn't see many people however I would say it is quite exposed and hot in the Spring/ Summer time so make sure to bring hydration/ caps/ covers and sun cream. When you get to the top it is totally worth it as the views are fantastic. One of the better attractions we have visited whilst being in Barcelona. There is a little bit of litter and graffiti however on the way down it was spotless so it really depends what route you decide to take.

Park greens not well maintained, washed out paths - pretty dangerous to stumble. Cable car tickets are 11€ / one way or 17€ / both ways. Save that money and spend it some where else in the city. Castle itself is another 12€ / person. Overall, we were very upset. It is not worth the hype. Due to not watering any plants it looks very dry.

La Rambla & La Boqueria Market The famous pedestrian promenade (La Rambla) is lively, full of shops, cafés, street performers. The Boqueria Market off it is colorful and great for local food, fresh produce and tapas. 

Famous long street in Barcelona, full of gems, located in the center of city and you can easily access it by any transportation methods. Surrounded by famous restaurants, branded shops, museums , markets etc. Be careful of your belongings since it’s also famous for their pickpockets.

This road is the heart of Barcelona, you can find anything, close to Barceloneta too. But it's unsafe to walk there after 9 o'clock in the night and I don't recommend to book your stay close to this street. Best time to visit is morning hours and ofcourse winter motnhs that nit many people go like the summer.

As soon as you come out of Liceu metro station, you’re right in the heart of La Rambla! It’s a great place to visit — the old buildings are beautifully preserved, with lovely balconies decorated with plants. There are plenty of good shops for shopping, lively street performances, and talented painters who sketch your portrait instantly. Overall, I loved the vibrant and cheerful atmosphere — definitely a must-visit spot in Barcelona!

Very big crowd, no sunbeds, you have to watch out for pickpockets and thieves, not my style unfortunately. The beach has fine sand, which is great, and the water is also beautiful, regardless of the fact that it is a city beach and that the port is not far away.

Nice beach but the people selling things would not leave us alone :( be ware of a guy selling coconuts - he kept coming back to us and started a conversation each time, he seemed friendly at first but got aggressive when we kept declining his coconuts

Came here at dawn so we didn't touch the sea nor there was much crowd. The atmosphere was calm and the air fresh. A perfect place to watch sunrise from the middle of the ocean, they built some convenient decks to do so.

The boardwalk was very nice with people running, biking, or just strolling around. They had public restrooms, and restaurants underneath the boardwalk. The water was calm with very few swimmers since it was October and a chill was in the air. They had exercise equipment on a cement pad on the beach which was interesting. The industrial and boat activity so close by was not appealing to us. However, it was a nice walk.

One of Barcelona’s most iconic and energetic spots. Unfortunately, we are. Unfortunately, we visited off-season, so swimming and sunbathing weren’t possible, but it was still a lovely place for a walk and to enjoy the sea view.

We visited in October so it wasn't that full, but there were still a lot of tourists. It is nice, but not something out of the ordinary. I do not recommend to eat/drink on a terrace there, it is not worth your money, instead dive in the streets nearby, you will find a few good restaurants

Montjuïc Castle is definitely worth a visit, especially for the breathtaking 360° views over Barcelona and the sea. The site is very well maintained and easily accessible — you can reach it by bus 150 from Plaça Espanya, by cable car, or by car. That said, as a castle, I personally expected a bit more. While the open spaces, walls, and viewpoints are beautiful, I felt it lacked historical exhibits — things like weapons, artifacts, or photographs that could bring more life to its rich past. A little more storytelling would make the experience even more engaging. Still, the location is fantastic, the views are absolutely stunning, and it’s a great spot to wander, relax, and take in the city from above. Entry is free for Gaudí Més members, with discounts available for children and seniors over 65. In short: not the most content-heavy castle, but for the views alone, it’s a must-see in Barcelona.

Uhnn... The place is amazing. The views are hard to match. The fort (it's a fort, isn't it? Why do they call it a castle?) is very beautiful... but definitely not worth it the 12€ to get inside. Again, the location is amazing though. You can easily get there with the bus, 151 if I am not mistaken. When I went there during La Mercé 2024 there was an amazing comedy performance going on. Those guys were INCREDIBLE. And the organization of the event was flawless.

A must visit location if you are in Barcelona. You access the funicular to the ticket station from any metro and then take the cable car up the mountain to get best views of the city. The tickts to visit the castle was free. Wether and view from the castle terrace was amazing. There is a small food cart inside for a drinks and snacks

Visited Montjuïc Castle — definitely worth it for the amazing views of Barcelona and the sea. I took a taxi up for €13 and came back down by cable car (€12.5 one way). If you just want the experience, taking the cable car either up or down is enough — the view is fantastic both ways. There’s also a small café/restaurant on top, so no worries about finding food or drinks. A great spot for sightseeing, photos, and relaxing above the city!

Definitely worth a visit. The ride up in the tram is beautiful and the castle itself is impressive. There’s only an hour or two worth of stuff to look at but the whole “birth of the metric system” thing alone makes it a cool spot. Also…there’s a random naked woman statue at the top and the sign basically says “we chose this statue because why not”.

Amazing 17th century castle (more of a fort if im being honest), so cool to see a structure like this in all it's glory, a lot of times ive visited castles and forts they're either partly or fully in ruins due to them having come under fire, so to see one like this in pristine condition is really something special, and on the day that I went the weather was impeccable so the views and visibility were as good as they get. I will mention one thing though the exhibits inside were under construction/renovation and yet the general entry price remained at €12, in my opinion if the whole experience isn't available they shouldn't be charging full price and should have a slight discount on to make up for the inconvenience, on the plus side if you go after 15:00 on a Sunday it's free so if you're not bothered about the day you want to visit I'd recommend going then and saving yourself €12

She’s super old, has dramatic history and has all the views. She’s a melodrama. I’m kidding. She’s a castle. Originally built for war, now it’s just where people come to take selfies. Great place to feel powerful and irrelevant at the same time. Bonus: there’s a cannon you’re not allowed to climb on but will absolutely consider climbing on. The views are a must.

What a gem of a museum. As a senior it was only €4 to enter. A spectacular building that is worth that price just to see the building. Very educational but of course that full size replica of a ship just blows you away. Read about the harsh conditions of the workers that rowed on the ship and the slave trade. Also at the front they had a display about the current situation or ships are sent to countries to meet salvaged and it is a very tragic situation also. Best part was it was not crazy busy like others in Barcelona.

So I found myself at the Maritime Museum, just before closing. A little high, a little lost, and at least it looked interesting. The guards were already half-done with their shifts, leaning on the railings, lights dimming over ships that looked too proud to sleep. The place felt like a secret — arches of stone, wood gleaming under low lamps, the air thick with salt and stories. I walked slow, trying not to make noise, like the ocean might wake up if I did. There was a full-sized galley in the middle — absurdly beautiful, carved like someone still believed in forever. Outside, the night clung to the harbor, lights rippling across puddles and taxi roofs. I stood there for a minute, trying to decide if I felt more like a sailor or a ghost. Maybe both. Barcelona does that to you — even a museum visit turns into a half-dream you can’t quite explain later

The Galley is an impressive centrepiece of the museum and there is quite a number of nice ship models. Additionally one can visit a museum sailing ship in the harbor. Overall it is a nice visit and as someone who is into ships, I liked it. But there are also a couple of things which I disliked somewhat: The English translation of the texts were overall quite poor and less informative than I hoped for. Often it boiled down to texts similar to "There are rowers on the galley, who are there to row." Well yes, duh. Not sure if this is unique to the English descriptions and whether the Spanish or Catalan versions are better, but my takeaway from them was very limited. Also for a city with a rich maritime history there was actually only quite a limited amount of things to see on only 1 floor of exhibitions. At most 1 h or 2 h if you really read everything in detail. The museum ship is also a bit underwhelming and not much info to be found there either. So overall I would say it is a nice visit and if you like ships, it is worth it. Otherwise maybe not so much.

Very cool place, with lots to see. I love that they don't whitewash history, or make light of the very real problems with the ship industry while encouraging discussion and also inspiring awe and learning. So much history of slavery with ships and even problem that persist to current days such as large ship scrapping.

Not really into maritime museums but this was still really cool, it truly is mind blowing to see the the craftsmanship and attention to detail that was put into a vessel of that size so many years ago. Then everything else around the museum is just an added bonus.

The Maritime Museum of Barcelona was a true discovery for me. I'm writing this review more than a year after visiting, but the impression it left still resonates. Maybe it's because I was born in a city by the sea, where ships, ports, and sailing were always part of the landscape. The exhibition was remarkable — rich with detailed ship models, ranging from historic wooden vessels to modern ones. It also featured interactive video displays and impressive large-scale exhibits, including a full-size replica of the Royal Galley, which left a lasting impact. I recommend setting aside at least 4–5 hours to fully enjoy the exhibition. There's also a cozy café inside and a souvenir shop, perfect for picking up something to remember Barcelona by.

This is a huge, open air, flea market style market, that is only open a few days a week, so check the schedule before going. They sell anything from materials for sewing, to new jewelry, socks and clothing, to old used fans, cameras, books and watches. Be careful on the old items because if you show interest they raise the price and the junk seller have no interest in getting rid of their inventory but just gauging you. I was interested in an old lighter that didn't work and the seller wanted €40 and then raised it to €60. Be careful on used items, look for flaws, negotiate and argue if you want it but be willing to walk away. The market is huge but it's fun.

A huge flea market, not only in size, but in the amount of shops, people and goods there. Those who love historical and vintage items, those who have collections, those who are looking for something that is not in regular stores - will find it there. Those who come to visit and be impressed, take a deep breath, it is simply too much, it is tough, it is massive and it is impossible to see everything. The amount of people is enormous. There is a metro nearby and the place is covered in case it rains. Watch your bags, the crowd there is at its peak

The bottom floor is where you will find the jumbles of items on tables and blankets. But you won't find any bargains. Prices are high and there was no haggling. I asked the price for a single small earring and a tiny thin ring, both pulled from a box full of random stuff, and he wanted 5 Euro! I said no and he just walked away. There was another girl there and he quoted a high price and he wouldn't go down at all. It was fun to look at stuff and walk around but not really to buy.

So many second hand goods and some new too. They have everything from clothes, books, electronics, etc. They have a few floors and on the top floor there’s a food section if you get hungry. If you love vintage shopping or looking for a bargain, this is the place to go!

A neat flea market in the middle of modern architecture around it. They sell daily necessities, household goods, antiques to everything between. We found many bargains. It's a great place to visit. We went back the next day but sadly it was closed because of the public holiday.

This it’s a unique market that has lots of little things. Some are vintage but some are probably not very useful. You can definitely get a few interesting items if you like used stuffs. Worth to check it out.

This market is crazy in both good and bad ways. It’s so fun to walk around looking at things and trying to get a good bargain. I ended up with some really nice antique jewelry for a very good price. Ok the other hand, it is packed in there and can be kind of overwhelming. I definitely felt a hand trying to get into my purse at one point so keep your belongings close!

Hiking with a view! This hidden gem (not so hidden anymore) is a perfect place to have a picnic while watching the sunset. Far from touristy places and traditional must visits in Barcelona, this place is a perfect combo of a hiking trip leading to a perfect view spot of Barcelona.

I thought it may be closed during sunset but I went around 7:30 and the park was still open. a ton of people were there, both locals and tourists. The whole neighborhood of Carmel is also very charming with winding streets and views everywhere.

I can't believe I lived in Barcelona for years without coming to this place. It's a hilly hike if you come from the Carrer de Tenerife entrance, but nothing impossible. The view from up there is stunning, you can see the whole grand Barcelona metropolitan area and even one of the Balearics islands. It gets crowded but it adds to the experience. Police came at 7pm sharp and kicked everyone out. The bus 22 right around the corner ar Carrer de la Gran Vista gets you up and down. Very worth it. Bring some beers and enjoy the sunset.

Amazong view of Barcelona. You can see everything. I would recomend to go on top of the bunkers and stay there for a couple of minutes to admire the view and after i would go down the stairs and stay at the bridge under rhe bunkers. The view is the same but there is no people. When we visited the police came at 17:40 to close the bunker so i would recomend the other option that is 50 meters down the stairs. It is worth it

Very nice view over the city of Barcelona. The walk to the top takes about 10–15 minutes and is quite steep. You can also take a bus instead. At the start of the route, there are small shops where you can buy drinks and snacks. Important to know: you can stay there until 7 p.m. and it can get very crowded in good weather.

Great view. There is a bus that gets you most of the way there, but you need to walk for 5 minutes. Police showed up right after the sunset, not sure if it's because of noise complaints or to prevent injuries as there are a lot of random rocks scattered at the top and you need to "parkour" sometimes 😂.

Totally overrated. Too many people, and the cafés and bars right on the main street are a total rip-off. There’s really nothing special to see there. It’s better to stroll through the little side streets—there you’ll find cute shops and great bars/restaurants.

We visited in the evening and were mesmerized by the underwater-themed video projections that brought the space to life. It was an immersive experience that stirred real emotion. The complimentary audio guide added so much depth, explaining the purpose behind each intricate design element. Visiting at night made it all the more magical—an unforgettable experience.

Visiting Casa Batlló was one of the highlights of my trip to Barcelona. Here you can see Gaudí’s creativity up close- the flowing shapes, colorful mosaics, his vision and talent in every detail. The house was redesigned by Antoni Gaudí in the early 1900s for the Batlló family and is a perfect example of Catalan modernism. Every detail — from the wavy staircases to the vibrant tiles — is inspired by nature. The rooftop, shaped like a dragon’s back, offers great views over Passeig de Gràcia. I booked tickets online (around €30–€35) and still waited about 20–30 minutes to get in, so I’d definitely recommend buying skip-the-line tickets or going early in the morning. Inside, the audio guide is fantastic and really helps you understand Gaudí’s vision and his use of light and ventilation in every room. It’s busy, but completely worth it. I am not big fan of this type of art or architecture however it was an unforgettable experience.

Scenic & Spectacular Arc de Triomf If you are in Barcelona this is definitely a must visit place for you. It is one of the most iconic Monument in Barcelona. This square is always frequented by both locals and tourist. It can get quite crowded. Note what I like about it is that it still feels quite local somehow. You will not regret visiting it is very grand.

Absolutely a landmark you should visit and admire as part of your trip to another destination (like getting lost in the gothic quarter, or on your way to the Museu Picasso, or on a hike to La Barceloneta). There are lots of people who will let you pay them for food to feed their birds (which is fun, albeit fleeting for a euro). Beautiful structure!

Stunning building, great historic significance as it was built for one of the world fairs hosted in barcelona. Always worth to visit and take a walk nearby. It’s close to parc de la Ciutadella or “el born” where you can go for a nice stroll.

Popular tourist spot for selfies. Plenty of space to get whatever angle you want. Really quite nondescript, but I found the bat gargoyles on it pretty cool. It's within walking distance of other things on my loop, so just added it in. Expect plenty of people during tourist season.

Port Vell is a lovely place has beautiful a place with loads of restaurants and it is under 1 km towards the beachside. I’d highly recommend to come to this part it’s a nice place to enjoy around.

i wish i liked this place more. i liked the concept of it, but i found very little to explore during my visit. i decided to come later in the day, because i had lots of other things planned in the morning and this was opened later. i had my ticket already purchased online, it was date-specific, and at the gate i was told the monastery was closed for a private event, so we couldn't visit that and the area surrounding it, which i found odd. i didn't know prior to my purchase this aspect. the artisans have mostly left by then (i got there at around 16h) and it felt very empty. i expected to appreciate the architecture, which i did, even though it had a slight tacky feeling. there were lots of english signs with explanations. the art museum was really wonderful, i loved the collection presented.

Stopped here during our Hop on Hop Off. I saw the pictures of the umbrellas & just had to see it! You have to purchasea ticket to enter. I believe it was $15 just to enter & freely walk around. We went on a Friday & surprisingly wasn't crowded. No line for tickets & once you're in is a huge place to walk around. Lots of stores were artsy & craft things which was really cool. Got a handmade purse that I used for the rest of the trip. Lots of restaurants around too. The buildings & architecture are just amazing! The area is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside!

I love the festivals in here💯 I’ve been here so many times and it doesn’t disappoint. Don’t miss visiting Poble Espanyol even if there is no event there. The alleys are exceptional and you can enjoy walking by beautiful stores and cafes! I’m looking forward to the next festival in here to go🤞🏻

Google maps will tell you this is open till midnight, and while it may be, they stop renting audio guides after 7 pm (no online audio guide option) and many of the shops, galleries, attractions and restaurants close. It was still fun and interesting walking around the village, and finding an open restaurant to sip wine and people watch, while waiting for the magic fountain (nearby) at 9 pm. The reason for the 3 star review was the ticket agents provided misinformation (saying only one of the several restaurants was open - we saw 3 food trucks, 2 restaurants, a bar?, and a coffee shop open) and the paper map had audio guide numbers but not much other info on the buildings.

Recommended if you are a family, a local who cannot travel throughout Spain, or a tourist who does not have time to travel all over Spain. If you have traveled all over Spain, it is not particularly interesting. If you have time to waste, it's best to visit when it's free: La Mercè, 48h open house bcn, etc. But you'll have to wait for 1-2 hours! Signs explain the different buildings and provide information about the regions represented. They regularly have themes (e.g., Halloween), but I recommend visiting without these themes to fully admire the Spain represented.

Absolutely loved the places and I appreciated knowing more about how and why the built such a beautiful place ! I'm glad they kept pushing through for the project to come out so beautiful. I especially liked the animation FIESTA, it's so moving (emotionally). Nevertheless, some parts of the place need to be replaced by more modern animation I think (like the feel Spain Mediterranean animation and Don Quijote.

A bit disappointed at this place. We arrived early on Sunday morning at 10pm. Almost all shops are not open and ready. It is raining on the day we arrive. Not as big as I am expected. Most are building with two Museum. More people and shops open when we leave at around 12pm.

Great service! Loved how I sat down and immediately was welcomed by the waiter! The vibes are just right! Beer on draft was great! My family loves the fresh cola drink and fried calamari! Definitely will come back.

Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, is absolutely stunning! Gaudí’s creativity and attention to detail are on full display here — from the flowing stone façade to the beautifully designed interiors and the surreal rooftop with its sculptural chimneys. The audio guide was excellent and really helped me understand the architectural innovations and history behind the building. The rooftop views of Barcelona are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Everything was well organized and staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely one of the must-see Gaudí masterpieces in Barcelona — an unforgettable experience!

We visited the Casa Milà late at night, having booked the night tickets, the group was only about 10 people, which was great! The tour guides know the building very well, and we learned a lot. We walked up to the 4th (a nice experience, as it is the original materials). Here, the museum/foundation has recreated the entire living experience i.e. as people would be living back when it was built. Very impressive. The tour then visits the upper areas of the building, where a.o. a huge maquette of the structure is used to explain all of the innovative techniques and inventions that were applied during construction, really amazing. Finally we went all the way up to the roof, with spectacular views of the surrounding City, and top it all off, a very nice sound and light show, and a walk around of the entire roof, with some of its amazing structures. The tour ends with a glass of cava and some sweets. We really enjoyed it!

Fascinating place if you appreciate design and architecture. I booked my ticket online with fast entry option. You can take a souvenir photo towards the end of the visit at one of the beautifully decorated windows overlooking the street (paid & worth it).

Cute designs! The experience is much different from the view on YouTube. I ended up buying a book to learn more about all of his buildings. To the surprise of the ignorant me 😶 Catalans respect time much more than French and Italian. Unlike the Louvre or Palazzo Pitti, reservation time slots are very honored. We missed ours and we had to wait for another hour for an empty spot. I wished Antoni designed something for the rain though, so that residents and tourists could enjoy their time when it's pouring 😄 waiting for the rain to stop at the moment. Best time for photos

Historical & Iconic & Landmark Building This is one of the most iconic Building done by Gaudi. If not the MOST iconic. I visited it a few times and always enjoy it. What is amazing is you can visit it ten times and each time you will discover something new. The view from the roof top are also amazing! Highly recommended visit, by us.

Obviously worth it to visit at least once! I went in as the first group when they first open of the day with pre purchased tickets. Still lots of people in line. Staffs were super helpful and nice. You can only access to the lvl 6 floor and the rooftop. Highly recommend to get tickets ahead of time.

Very beautiful park, but some things could be better. There are a lot of sellers offering you things to buy every ten seconds, which is a little unpleasant. The greenery is very beautiful, the trees are mature and the constructions are gorgeous. The lake would be beautiful as it is but it is always packed with tourists on boats. The fountains work and they are really pretty, it is not too crowded and you will not mind all the tourists. The only esthetically unpleasing sight of the park are all the metal fences around the trees. There is a sign you cannot step on the grass but everybody is having a picnic on the grass, so do not worry too much about that. They dont really mind. There is a small shop where you can buy (overpriced, but that is to be expected) snacks and drinks. There a few toilets and I assume they work, but they are dirty and unpleasant and they do not have toilet paper, so bring a tissue. Overall a nice place to check out if you are in Barcelona and want a breath of chiller air. There is always a free bench to relax on.

It's a wonderful Green space, quite large, Lots of trees and refreshing. We rented bikes and enjoyed it very much. It's beautiful. Lot to see lots of paths. The Cascade fountain & greenhouses are really nice.

The place is a good park to spend some quality time with friends and family. Mostly used as a picnic place by locals and picture perfect location by the tourists. However the place is not well maintained, the fountains were not functional and the water was dirty with trash and green in colour. It has a good walkable path around the entire park with the structure and fountain being at its center. One more attraction will be the pond situated within the park with boating facility and a lot of ducks.

We came here with our dogs and were very impressed. There is doggy area that is fenced off so you can let your dog run free and meet other dogs, it even has a water station for them. The park is well kept and very enjoyable.

Parc de la Ciutadella is absolutely beautiful! 🌿✨ I visited Barcelona in August .I did a photoshoot and it’s the perfect spot if you want amazing pictures. The park is very clean, spacious, and full of charm. It’s located right next to the trendy El Born neighborhood, only about a 12–15 minutes walk from Barcelona’s port. And just across one of the park’s exits, you’ll find the stunning brick Arc de Triomf, another great place for pictures. If you have some time during your trip, this park is definitely worth a visit!

Very large park, with lots of green grass to sit and relax on. I do wish there was more shaded areas as on a sunny day, it’s not something you can enjoy for a long period as the sun is directly above you. There are a few play areas for little kids; a few are gated as well so you can relax on a bench inside while your kids run around playing, without worrying that they might go too far or exit. The main spots can be easily crowded for photos and other activities such as the fountain area. However, the park is clean. There is also a zoo and as you get closer, you can definitely smell the animals and their manure. There is also parking near the zoo. When we visited in early July of 2025, there was construction in some areas so there was fence and blocked off area. There are stairs all around but I would say about 45-55% of the stairs have a ramp as well for wheelchair and strollers. There are some water fountains for drinking as well and ice cream vendors in the area. Reminds me of Central Park in New York City. Definitely worth a visit but during the summer, visit before it gets too hot or in the evenings when the sun has gone down a bit.

i visited this on a saturday evening, when it is free. wonderful collection and the scenography is BEAUTIFUL!! i felt really inspired. it really captured the beauty of the art presented, and has a logical narrative thread you can follow to understand the ins and outs of the story the art tells of Spain and Catalunya. i edpecially loved the scenography of the religious art, very nice mise en scene with the church silhouettes, it was much easier to understand. only minus was this section had no english explanations. i also enjoyed the gift shop very much, the items available and the organisation of it

The building sits onto of montjuïc, with beautiful panoramic views across the city. Breathtaking museum with great architecture. Sometimes they have free entry into the museum, so worth keeping a look out for that. Even if you don't want to enter the museum it is definitely worth going to the entrance. You can sit on the steps & enjoy music good vibes & open a beer 🍻

Great museum in a beautiful building. Really impressive collection of Romanesque wall paintings. Exhibitions are very well designed and most of the information is in Spanish, Catalan, French and English! Only thing I would add is some good marking to sync between the rooms and PDF guide, because now it's hard to follow if you don't go exactly step by step with it. Very good cafe inside the museum in a beautiful aula. Will visit again!

A must do. If there's one museum you should visit in Barcelona, it's this one. It covers Catalan art from every period of history. The room with the church ceilings is very impressive and unique! I recommend visiting when it's free: Sundays after 3 p.m.! It took me approximately 3 hours.

Ok, here's my guide to visiting MNAC: get down at Plaza de Espanya and walk directly towards it. The stairs and the view upfront are the best part for me. The tickets were too expensive for me, but there was a free entrance day (last year, the last sunday of the month had free entrance or something like that). It's a good art museum, but I was more shocked by the architecurre

It is a great place to learn about the Roman history in general and the history of Barcelona in particular. The museum is designed according to historical records. The visitors explore history through different layers of excavation, each belonging to a different period. It start from Roman era and goes through various periods in Barcelona’s history. In upper floors they have a nice collection of items from contemporary times.

This is an absolutely brilliant museum. I only had an hour and could easily have spent 2 or more. The first part of the tour “flashback” is a fantastic potted history and is well curated and so interesting. You then head upstairs to the views outside over the plaza. Wonderful! Then you take the lift ( which is not well signed , clearer directions would help) to the ancient remains underground. So intriguing and the walkway is so well constructed with glass areas. It was a little confusing and I had issues finding the exit. Again clearer and more signs would help. Finally tou go to the church which is lovely with a wonderful altarpiece. Well worth the admission price.

Ok, honestly, this is the best museum I ve been in my life. I am not overreacting. I spent 3 days there. Literally. I went on three different sundays last year and I still haven't seen everything. I cried at the ruins. Everything is so well preserved and cared of. The elevated paths, the descriptions. I love the contrast between the sections of the museum. Classic Barcino, Medieval Barcelona, Modern Barcelona... Amazing! And to know I aquired so much knowledge... for free (the museum is free on sunday). One of the best things about this city is the amount of museums.

Great history museum, and subterranean Roman ruins. Outside the museum, Plaça del Rei is where King Ferdinand & Queen Isabella received Christopher Columbus in 1493, after his first voyage to the New World. Standing in this plaza is amazing.

I really enjoyed visiting the MUHBA museum it gives you a great overview of Barcelona’s history, from the Roman Empire all the way to the present and future of the city. The underground Roman ruins were especially fascinating, and if you’re into history, it’s definitely worth a visit.

If you want to go to a less crowded park than the ciutadella park, this one is the right one. It's a small, labyrinth designed park that is a little bit far from the center of Barcelona but worth a visit.

Visited this park today & am still absolutely apalled at its condition & the attitude of the workers. Unfortunately as we got there, they told us the labyrnith was under renovation, but since we travelled over half an hour to get there we thought we could still enjoy the rest of the park, & paid the 2.23eu entry. What a mistake; the whole park was under construction, either closed off or impacted by the noise of drills & yelling workers - it shouldn't even be open, let alone charging people! I'm not even sure with the full labyrinth there that it'd be worth it, given how small the plot for it is. The park is generally poorly maintained; I'm not sure a garden designer has stepped foot in the place. It looks like they grabbed some green plants & slapped them on some soil, & haven't bothered to clean or maintain it since. There's graffitti, & animal poop, & algae all over the water, & the statues & buildings could all do with a power wash; the water features don't even seem to be working properly. It has to be the worst park/garden I've ever been to, & to charge for it is a crime. We walked around for half an hour before we went back to ask for a refund. The short bald man & old heavy lady there made no attempt to communicate with us, & just kept pointing at signs in Spanish. I showed him photos of how disgusting the park was, & it he defended it. When my partner even tried to use written translations on his phone, this guy actually got out of his little booth & tried to physically threaten my partner, despite being two heads shorter than him. Those running this park should be ashamed of themselves. To those considering visiting, save yourself the trouble & avoid it!

We stumbled upon this on our first day after we arrived in Barcelona. It is chargeable about €2.00pp apart from Wednesdays and Saturdays I believe. Absolutely stunning buildings and fountains dating back to 1800s. I do have to say we thought there was a maze and waterfall but the maze is being renovated and the waterfall has dried up as there has been a drought for a long time now but worse in recent months :( Apart from that a beautiful place to take a lovely stroll in nature 🌿🪷🦋

The park is good overall but the specific area is under construction. Also a good picnic spot with benches and tables . A little playground with slides for kids. If you are coming on car Parking is available. With the price of tickets worth it. Palau del marqués d'Alfarras is also along the park it's free but only open on Wednesday and Sunday. You need to take an online appointment before visiting. I hope it helpful.😊

Good place to stroll for individuals and families to take a breather and get away from the noise from central Barcelona. Next to Campus Mundet - Universitat de Barcelona. Some gardens and infrastructure inside are still under construction and are closed during the weekends. Public toilets are clean, well maintained and open during weekends. Entrance fee is about €2 per person and can be paid at the gate entrance. Staff are courteous and friendly.

A nice quite place to shopping away from the busy streets like la Rambla. Went there on a Monday but many shops were closed. Its not bust as La Boqueria and less shops than la Boqueria. The shop vendors are friendly and are happy to help. They have a good selection of fresh olives , meats, spices and other fresh produce. The place is very clean and peaceful. Nice place to shop if you want a quite and less busy place. It is just 4 minutes walk from the San Antoni metro station.

Man this market was amazing. Super retro place with all the old comics and books. Smelt authentically of dusty paperwork, highly recommend!

Fantastic local mercato similar to the big famous “La Boqueria” on La Rambla , but much less touristy and much more authentic with locals. The beautiful structural building has been fully restored a year or two ago and it’s immaculate. There are lots of food stalls with meats, fish, seafood, and fresh vegetables & fruits all perfectly laid out and perfect to photograph. There are some tapas restaurants where you can dine with the locals and experience superb food at reasonable prices. The neighbourhood surrounding the market is interesting too, and full of local tapas bars and cafes, and shops. Having been to both markets, I do prefer this experience over the bigger touristy one.

It worths the while visit if you have small kids. First of all, it’s close to a metro and tram station. The area is newly built so everything is in big scale: metro station, sidewalks, etc. Big entrance where you can leave your umbrella. Free entry for kids, as an adult I think I paid 2,5€ for the Permanent exposition. The tickets cost the same if you buy them online but no need to. Space to leave your stuff on the first floor. Space to sit and eat (with vending machines or bringing your own food) on the first floor too. Bathrooms have small toilets for the little ones. Gift shop on the first floor. The entrance has an impressive installation of the Earth. Then you see some paleontology and geology findings, then it’s the exposition of the animals, then the exposition of the fungus, precious stones, and some more. You’ll need 2 full hours for the Permanent collection. Helpful stuff. Accessibility for all people.

The best well spending 6 euros in Barcelona. Amazing museum, clean and super functional with a tremendous number of exhibits and lots of mini video clips in order to understand Planet Earth. The only disadvantage was that there was some low temperature there (maybe in order to preserve the fossils). So maybe wear s shirt instead of a T-shirt

It looked huge on the outside but there was nothing much to see inside. The preserved animals and insects are fascinating, but other than that it was pretty normal. Staff are very friendly and helpful though.

Great private area for guests to be fully nude. It is quite relaxing and quiet, not so much foot traffic so it is very peaceful and comfortable to listen to the waves crash and smell the fresh air while soaking in the glorious sun rays on every centimeter of your skin

We went on a Saturday afternoon. We were disappointed by the etiquette of people on the beach. Yes, I know it would be one of the busiest times. However, I’m disappointed to find that there are many textiles on the tiny clothing optional section. I think all beaches should be clothing optional. But until then, if there is a very limited space and no one in the group is naturist, then why take up valuable naturist space? Do as you’d be done by. The nearby textile beaches were nowhere as busy as the naturist section at the same time. There were also plenty of people smoking, despite the prominent signs saying no smoking. There were also a few groups on speakerphones, again, despite prominent signs saying no loud music. It’s not a nice beach for LGBT or naturist community. While there is a lifeguard service, the sand is rough and the seabed is rocky. It’s a big disappointment for us and we won’t be coming back.

Lovely beach! Not the usual sandy beaches, so the small stones wipe away easy. Watch out for the 12:30-2pm big waves that will take away your belongings lol! You can be nude or in a bathing suit.

This is one of the most unique and peaceful beaches in Barcelona — and personally, it’s my favorite spot to swim and sunbathe. Located near Rambla del Poblenou, this beach attracts a very diverse and open-minded crowd. You’ll find a relaxed atmosphere, free of large family groups and noise, which makes it ideal for those who want to recharge in peace. The vibe is calm, inclusive, and respectful. The beach is clean and well-maintained, and it’s known for being a safe space where everyone can feel comfortable. It is popular among members of the LGBTQ+ community, and the general mood is friendly and welcoming to all. There are public restrooms nearby, and a great selection of restaurants and cafés within walking distance — something for every taste and budget. Keep in mind that getting here from the city center takes about 40–50 minutes, which is a bit longer than heading to Barceloneta or Sant Martí. But if you're looking for something a bit different, more relaxed, and with a unique character, this beach is definitely worth the trip — especially on weekends, when the atmosphere becomes particularly vibrant and social. Even if you usually prefer more traditional beach settings, I’d still recommend giving this one a try. It just might surprise you in the best way.

A lovely part of the beach in Barcelona and less crowded than other sections further along, closer to the centre. It is a gorgeous walk too. It is cleaner, more peaceful and relaxing, must visit if you would like to enjoy the beach but in a calmer, less crowded way.

Nice public beach. It has different areas: a general side, a nudist side, and an LGBT+ friendly side. You’re welcome to enjoy any part of the beach without any issues, though the space is traditionally divided this way. The sand is nice, and the atmosphere is calm. There are also two bars: BeGay and Chiringuito Mar Bella. Both are on the pricier side.

Fantastic beach This is my favourite beach when I am staying in Barcelona. Where in the world can you take the underground to go to the beach? Here, and it is really good and feels very local. Obviously if you want to eat you have to go in a bit into Poblenou but that in itself is generally a very nice experience.

My parents had been to the fairy bar years ago and on a recent trip to Barcelona my first time they were eager to find it and show me inside , situated off las rambla near the wax museum, hidden in the corner a lil gem , a cute and quirky bar with whimsical decor , they had a drink and I looked around

An original place for food and drinks that imitates the forest and has a soothing effect. If you're in the area, definitely come and experience this, but there are some downsides. Quite crowded, waiting in line for drinks and food because it is self-service and ignorance of it for the guests (only after waiting 10 minutes for service did I realize that you order on a sledge and you carry the drinks to the table yourself, while they bring the food).

Cava and late night girl dinner was beautiful. Food was hot and fresh!!! The vibe is organic and magical. Staff was friendly, best to approach them if you need something. Don’t be shy, and mingle with others in this venue. So fun and very chill!

El Bosc de les Fades is like stepping into a fairytale. This bar feels like a secret enchanted forest that transports you to another world. The atmosphere is absolutely magical, perfect for escaping the city buzz or impressing out-of-town friends. The drinks are reasonably priced, and while it’s more about the experience than the cocktails, everything we tried was tasty and well made. It can get busy, especially in the evenings, but that only adds to the mysterious, lively vibe. It’s a must-visit if you’re in Barcelona and want something totally unique. Highly recommend for anyone who loves immersive spaces and a bit of fantasy with their drink!

Very curious place, nice drinks and food. Not expensive considering the location and how popular it is. Quick service. It was not noisy so we could actually talk and hear each other. We enjoyed a lot.

It's a magical place. The most beautiful café we visited in Barcelona. The prices are really good too which was surprising. The people working here are also really nice. We came at midday so it was almost empty. Totally worth it.

This place is so beautiful and has a very calming energy. However, for being so well put together the service and drink options are underwhelming. We came on a saturday around 12:30,,,,it was not too busy and maybe that was the reason for the crabby bartenders? They just made it seem like we were a nuisance. The drink menu was a carbon copy of any regular bar. And charging 10€ for that is extensive. There’s so much potential to create interesting and delicious themed drinks,,,with such a magical atmosphere, why wouldn’t you? Cool place to take pictures and could be really amazing with an cocktail menu upgrade,,

Was amazing, a beauty to see, its the City Center, I would suggested to do the bus tour it takes you through the entire city and u can even take the boat with the same tickets for 24 hours, its very cost effected, $38 per person and u get to hap off the bus and on, you can even stop at the beach and have a good time and jump right back on the bus. The city is very clean, the hospitality was great

Barcelona is wonderful. I loved this public square, it has great fountains and statues. A wide open public space that is enjoyed by very many people. A safe place to visit and an interesting one. Historic and colourful, this square lays in the heart of shopping districts and is easily accessible by public transport, both buses and trains. I spend several days in this area and saw that pedestrians are well looked after, with traffic lights to cross roads changing automatically after a short duration, with no one having to press buttons to cross. That should be more widely adopted elsewhere, it is a great idea, with pedestrian traffic and road traffic moving most harmoniously Like everything in Barcelona, it was excellent. Culture and artistry surround you here 🥰

Just a beautiful place for a walk in Barcelona. Exploring the city and its architecture. Around every corner is something interesting and I wish I could have stopped at every bar, cafe or shop. But if I had, I’d still be there month later and not even come close to trying them all.

It's such a lively spot and really feels like the heart of the city. There's always something going on, and I even got to see a parade which was super cool! The whole atmosphere is fantastic, and it's a great place to start or end your day.

A nice place to visit any time of the day. This place is usually very busy and is near La Rambla street. It is also a major interchange station on the metro line. Good place to take photos. But be aware of pick pocket and scamsters , especially the ones who paint their face white and give balloons to kids .

It was a lovely place where lots of families were gathering, the sun came out and it was lovely to just sit and soak up the atmosphere. There doesn't seem to be anything else there so don't expect anything other than a beautiful area😊

A beautifully restored and colorful old hospital. The atmosphere is great, and it’s fascinating to see what hospitals used to look like back in the days. Many of the buildings, rooms, and offices have been restored and can be visited. Lemon and lime trees grow all over the place, very charming and peaceful place (these days). An unusual place, I enjoyed it ☺️

This is one of Barcelona's hidden gems that you absolutely must see. The hospital complex is an exceptionally well-preserved architectural and artistic masterpiece, featuring beautifully maitained interiors and a charmin exterior with gardens and orange trees, palms... It's definitely a visit you will never regret.

A truely hidden gem in Barcelona though it is not even on the top ten list for must seeing. The architectures of this previous hospital is beyond amazing. I wish they have more building's open to the public. Currently they have about ten buildings for showing. You could spend hours to enjoy them. In addition, the front gate of this museum is a very good spot for taking picture of the Sagrada Familia.

From the outside it already looks great, but once you get inside — you see it’s much more than just a nice courtyard. The buildings are beautifully restored, with colorful mosaics, stained glass, and vaulted ceilings that feel more like a palace than a hospital. We didn’t use the audio guide — just walked around by ourselves — and still found it totally worth it. There’s a recreated hospital room from the 1920s, underground passages between the pavilions, and a calm atmosphere away from the usual tourist chaos. If you’re into architecture or just want a break from the crowd — this is a great spot. Quiet, spacious, beautiful.

i had a wonderful visit. very well organised and beautiful place. i got a free visit (so no guide of any kind, just walking around for as long and where i please), and in some areas especially towards the end there was no english translation on the written plaques. otherwise wonderful place, wish it was more well known

Visited only because it is 15 mins walk near Sagrada Familia. Not good not bad, but once after visiting Sagrada Familia, this looks very average and there are much less tourists. Prefer spending your time in a cafe rather than visiting it, unless you are really interested. Or just have a photo without entering it. Consist of 7-8 buildings but only half of them are opened, not much to see and the chair are pretty dirty, i rate this 6/10

This was a former hospital turned museum which gave a lot of insight of the type of work this hospital was doing in the 1920s and beyond. There is also some artworks in there for you to explore. The architecture of the buildings are magnificent and are an attraction within itself

Beautiful museum showcasing the history of Catalonia. The museum is big so it will take more than 2 hours to wander around it if you want to read and check every piece of art. Definitely recommended for history and art lovers! In addition, the museum is located near the port so it's convenient to visit the beach area on the same day.

Excellent experience! The staffs are really nice, a great effort was put in the expositions, the many events in the history of the region are well demonstrated. I love that the museum experience is very immersive and interactive. And free entry for students, gotta highlight again that this is a greeeeaaat deal!!!!

Super helpful staff I wish I got her name as me and my family tried to visit the museum on a Monday but was closed as part of our tui 2 day pass however got much more valuable information from a local working there who told us where to go and even highlighted a map that made our trip super enjoyable and saw great key points of Barcelona

Not far from the Statue of Columbus, in a huge Building you can find this wonderful Museum. The Staff is incredibly friendly and capable of speaking english. The Museum itself has a lot of information on the history of Catalunya. From the first Humans to have ever existed there to the Second World War. I have found it rather interesting that the Information is presented to you in Catalonian, Spanish and English which underlines the importance and the pride Catalonians take in their language. The structure and the presentation of certain events is captivating. I really enjoyed looking at them. Sadly, when I was there the AC didn’t work and I had to hurriedly walk through some of the rooms because I couldn’t cope with the heat. Because of that though, the Museum let me in for free.

This museum is a hidden gem, seemingly overlooked by tourists in Barcelona drawn to the celebrated names of Gaudí, Picasso, and Miró. It presents the story of Catalonia in a clear, chronological way — a journey through centuries of culture, conflict, and transformation. What unfolds is a history marked by turmoil and resilience, and an enduring spirit that never ceases to strive for both spiritual and political independence. Three or four hours is proper to read through the information panels.

Friendly staff. Good and extensive exhibitions. The temporary one seemed to only be in Catalan and Romani (though I didn't look to see if they had a QR code with translations or anything)

I had a rainy morning during my trip and decided to check out this museum. It was a nice museum that showed the history of Catalunya from the stone age up to now. There were also some fun activities for kids (and more... grown-up kids...) and the staff was SUPER nice.. The only thing I would have liked to see more of were "real" artifacts. The story that is told by the museum mostly relies on pictures and reproductions of items.

We stumbled upon this amazing place while exploring the surrounding streets and so glad we went in. A spectacular old market building housing fascinating remains of old Barcelona. It's free to wander round the upper level overlooking the old streets and for an extra €3, you can view the exhibition of all the artefacts that were discovered during the dig. A really interesting place.

Cool indoor spot to check out ruins. The placards are very helpful to understand what you’re looking at as things are quite eroded. Free entry

Very interesting exhibition about the history of the city, with panels, the entry is free to just see the ruins from the above corridors, but the archaeological exhibit and the guided tour are not always available, better check the times and availability if you want to visit.

Quite a special experience to be under the cast iron ceiling of the 19th century market, looking into the open archaeological dig. We didn't stay long enough to check out the ticketed exhibition of excavated 17th and 18th century artefacts, unfortunately. They also have changing temporary exhibitions. The winding alleyways through El Born are just lovely to wander through as well so I highly recommended spending some time exploring this neighbourhood and the cultural centre.

One of the most historical places I’ve ever been to. If you’re looking for something unique, want to witness ancient Barcelona this is the spot!

Great place to see the old roman ruins very well laid out, very informative and insightful

Bogatell beach number 28 specifically is a very busy beach. It's the central beach directly from the park. The whole stretch of beaches all along the Promenade is great for swimming. There are lots of restaurants and bars all along the Promenade. There's public bathrooms and outside showers all along all the various bays. There's a good police presence. I love the NO SMOKING ON THE BEACHES law in Barcelona. It's great.

Nice beach very clean except for the public wash rooms. Nice sand. Great view. Quiet water very small waves easy to go in and out of the water.

Not such a clean beach and there is a steep inclination before getting into the water The public toilet was clean and had toilet paper 10 euro for a sunbed and 10 euro for the sun umbrella Lots of people selling stuff or services (pretty insisting and even touching the potential customers)

Beware it Smells like sewer after rain. Also there is constant men trying to sell stuff and digging up blankets. 45 euro for two chairs and umbrella. Nice water!

Playa de Bogatell is a beautiful beach in Barcelona and much less crowded than the city’s more famous public beaches. The sand is clean and golden, and the water is a clear, inviting blue. There’s a beach bar and restaurant offering sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, but be prepared for high prices 30€ for two chairs and 15€ for an umbrella. We tried the patatas bravas, which cost around 8€ for a portion half the size of what you’d get at a restaurant in the city. Beers range from 5€ to 8€. The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere is great for relaxing. The only downside is the pricing, which is on the expensive side for a public beach.

A huge museum of mostly religious artefacts. It's certainly interesting, but most of the objects are very similar, and mostly lack more contextualisation. The entrance fee isn't too high though, so I think it's an interesting place to visit while in Barcelona and searching for a more low-key activity.

The museum was decent, but there are better in Barcelona. The collection was vast but the service level left a bad taste in my mouth. I went on a Sunday at 7:29pm, just barely making it before close. It was free that day, so that was nice. I was aware the museum was closing at 8pm and just wanted to get a glimpse within the last half hour. The staff at the front desk claimed to already be closed and then proceeded to add that the last admission is 7:30. I showed her it was 7:29 and she luckily let me in. I enjoyed the exhibits while I could. At 7:51 I was kicked out by museum staff who seemingly were ready to go home. They escorted me out like I was a thief and were not friendly. I’m glad I didn’t pay but I would have been fine skipping this museum considering it’s staff.

It is a quite extraordinary collection of things Mares was interested in, namely religious sculpture from medieval times onwards. Upstairs are countless beautiful fans, lace, pipes, ceramics, keys and other ironwork and many other things. Indeed, to me it’s a mini V&A and just as exhaustive and exhausting. Absolutely wonderful!

The best hidden museum in barcelona by far. Accesible price on the entrance and as it is expected that you’ll be coming more than once they are quite flexible. Plenty of days which is free additionally, it’s inner garden is also relaxing and quite chill In a summer day. The collection on the museum is just staggering and it will have you coming back for more, I currently live near it and will go every free day I can just to browse their vintage fashion magazines collection. Edit: doggies allowed on the inner garden by the way. Definitely your beat new plan for a day off in Barcelona.

A nice museum with a unique collection of sculptures and other objects, including firearms, swords, old clocks, tools, toys and many more. The entrance fee is very low, and on every weekend the entrance is free, after 15:00 o’clock.

Great museum, the staff is amazing, so friendly and helpful. So much interesting to see and beautiful rooms. The room with the fans is amazing, what a great place to be. You could easily spend awhile day in it and won't be bored a minute. Will be back, thank you so much.

Really interesting, especially if you're into late medieval and Renaissance sculptures of the virgin Mary holding Jesus or Jesus being crucified (I was sick of them by the end).
