Ramen restaurant
Nestled in the unexpected Vorgartenmarkt, Mochi Ramen Bar is a cozy spot that offers authentic Japanese ramen and fusion dishes. The open kitchen churns out steaming bowls of traditional noodle soup, paying homage to Japanese culinary traditions. Since 2017, this eatery has been celebrating the art of ramen with daily fresh homemade noodles, flavorful broths, and an array of toppings including vegan options.
As a Korean living abroad, I can attest Mochi ramen bar is my favorite ramen place in Vienna and undoubtedly Europe. Try the “special ramen” every month, where Mochi consistently provides authentic, high quality food with an innovative spin-off. Otherwise the Tonkotsu ramen and vegetarian friendly options are classic choices. Most importantly the service and the whole team has always welcomed me with a smile, which brings me back here for years. There is a que but it is well-worth your time and relatively moves fast. You can also wait in line with the pale ale, Brauton back from space, highly recommendable. Key is to come during lunch time to avoid hustle bustle. Thank you for being an amazing place I can cherish and look forward to all the time. Keep innovating! 🙏

Great ramen spot! The place is warm and welcoming, with big, delicious portions. There’s usually a line, so plan your visit accordingly but it’s totally worth it! We really enjoyed the flavors. Thank you for a great meal!

Mochi Ramen Bar is a fantastic spot in Vienna for anyone who loves authentic and flavorful ramen. I tried the recommended mushroom ramen and it was outstanding – rich, aromatic, and full of depth, with a unique taste that really stood out. You can tell the broth is made with care, every spoonful was comforting yet bold. The cocktails were another highlight – creative, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and top-quality food. A must-visit for ramen lovers in Vienna!
Marcin M — Google review
Food great, expected a little more spicy kick. Great service! Good atmosphere, even for a small crowded space. Nice decorations.
Maša S — Google review
I liked the place very much! Ramen is delicious, stuff is nice, close to Prater, but very quiet. I will definitely return there to try something else.
Julia M — Google review
After reading a review mentioning it is the best in Europe, I took with a doubt. However, the place did not disappoint, and beats all ramen game in Copenhagen (so much better than Slupr in CPH which has been my icon for long time) and Netherlands. Worth taking a flight to eat here. And matcha mule - genius! If you are a foodie, dont miss out. As it is a busy place, try to get before 6pm.
Katja S — Google review
Since we had no reservation we had to queue for about 20 mins before finding a table. I ordered the pork belly wan tan ramen. It was served hot and tasted good. However, the food tasted way more salty as it cooled down. The eggs were perfectly cooked!
Shrestha G — Google review
This is a very lively ramen bar! Try to make a reservation or be prepared to wait a while for a table. But it’s worth it! The portions are incredibly generous and very filling! And the food is absolutely delicious!!!! The service is quite quick, and very helpful, friendly and welcoming! If you’re in Vienna, and looking for some variety in cuisine, this is a great spot!!

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Shoyu Ramen is a popular spot in Vienna, offering traditional Japanese dishes like authentic homemade ramen, Don Buri, and Japanese curry. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere with the option for take-out. It's known for its spacious yet cozy space, but reservations are recommended due to its popularity. The highlight of the menu is the homemade noodles used in their delicious soup dishes. Additionally, they offer a variety of traditional Japanese snacks perfect for on-the-go enjoyment.
Shoyu gives a very special experience. I've been there twice and every time I was quite fascinated. It feels like being on vacation. I still got to try other meals on the menu but what I have tasted was great. They also have weekly specials. The quality of the food is great, even the side dishes are exciting (although my european tongue is not quite used to everything I must admit) Reservation is advised.
Kassandra — Google review
The ramen really tastes divine, I want to eat one more! It’s amazing. The taste really close to Japan flavor. The curry fried pork chops are also good! I really recommend the restaurant !
Samni — Google review
For me, this is the best ramen you can try in Vienna. The staff is friendly and speaks English. We were lucky to get a table even during busy hours. The ramen was rich, with a lot of ingredients, meat and noodles. The only small downside – not enough napkins and no extra sauces on the table.
Vladyslav T — Google review
I had seafood ramen and it was delicious! Good portion and ratio between components. Totally worth the price! Great service from the servers from the moment we stepped in. We were offered table outside even though there were “reserved” signs! Food came quickly.
Genor K — Google review
Shoyu Ramen is a great ramen spot in Vienna! I ordered the Shoyu Classic, which was a good change for me because I usually go for a Tonkotsu. I loved the broth, especially with chili oil/flakes. My favorite component was the chashu. Even though they were thin slices, they were very flavorful. If you’re craving ramen in Vienna, you should check this spot out!
Joriene M — Google review
This place is great for ramen! And they take great care of their customers! They went out of their way to make sure our experience was great. To the point they brought out a small bowl and chopsticks for our 1 year old. Highly recommend it!
Grant W — Google review
Walked in accidentally but had a great experience😀 The food was delicious and with large portions. Even served with watermelon😋
Kiki C — Google review
Solid solid ramen and top notch karaage, highly recommend. We got the miso ramen, shoyu special and Curry tonkatsu, all were very good. The tonkatsu was very nice. I guess they are good at frying stuff up. Light and not too salty while still being savory and hits the spot.

Modern izakaya restaurant
Izakaya restaurant
Restaurant
OKRA Izakaya is a contemporary Japanese restaurant located in the trendy Karmeliterviertel in Vienna's 2nd district. The restaurant follows the sharing principle by placing dishes in the center of the table for everyone to taste. They offer a modern Japanese izakaya cuisine, including tapas and an excellent selection of sake. The menu features high-quality ramen, sashimi, and artfully arranged sushi platters, with gluten-free options available.
First of all, everything you may choose to try will be good, but I recommend going for the Kobashi Omakase menu. Don’t just go for (the excellent) Maki, Rolls or Sashimi that you get at other places, too. Better try what you don’t get that easily. The selection of fresh sashimi is excellent and mora than just tuna, salmon or butter fisch; and includes several types of mussels, too. Each course is a delicate play with taste. The light smell from the kitchen, which changes every 5min depending on what’s currently being prepared, gives you an impression of Japanese cuisine and makes you wanna taste it all. We also had the Sake flight (3 different types of Sake) and beer and even more Sake before and after; ending up with approximately 90 Euro per person.
Matthias H — Google review
A-MA-ZING! I am very surprised for the kitchen, salute to chef! Waiter was nice and friendly, we spent perfect evening 🥰 Outside was quiet, we could talk and not be bothered or bother others. Unfortunately as a non drinker I couldn't try sake, but this place is definitely about sake food is just perfect. My beloved edamame were just a little bit too salty. Other dishes were very tasty. I definitely would recommend to try this place.
Angelina S — Google review
Amazing place. The service was really friendly and the food was just amazing. The quality of the fish is really another level specially the salmon was unbelievable soft and full of flavor, kind of buttery taste. The tuna was also so soft, almost melting in the mouth. We had the nigiri mix and the one with eel was a bit dry for my taste. I would change that one for another salmon one. I think would be nice if they would have some candles or something outside because it was not so comfy but I honestly cannot complain
Alaska — Google review
The waiter was very attentive and on good spirits. Food tasted authentic and fresh.
Jannica W — Google review
Passed by Okra on Tuesday evening and the small room was full. Luckily they were able to have a table for me and my sister 45 minutes later. Better reserve a table a day before. Service was very polite and mostly quick & with a smile. Place itself is a small room and quite hard acoustics, still very cosy. Food was lovely and they had enough vegan portions to choose from. I especially enjoyed their nasu no miso (aubergine with miso) and edamame.
Kimmmo H — Google review
Great place to try out sake. The sommelier was super helpful and coached us through some basics as it was our first time. The sushi rolls and raw fish dishes that we had were excellent, a great balance of complex flavors and textures but also done neatly without much distraction. The ambiance in the outdoor seating was great. We had a great meal here.
Molly T — Google review
The food was ok, but for our taste a little too salty. If you're looking for a cheap dinner, you're at the wrong place. It's quite expensive. But the service was excellent, maybe the best I've experienced so far! I would still recommend it
Thomas K — Google review
This place is very much overpriced. The drink selection is good. The food is mediocre. The atmosphere is stale.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Oreno Ramen is a laid-back eatery located in Vienna's Lerchenfelder Strasse, straddling the trendy District 7 and the more residential District 8. Despite its trendy surroundings, Oreno Ramen has a cozy, neighborhood vibe. The menu features four types of ramen - soy, miso, salt-based broths, and a vegan option. Additionally, they offer classic Japanese appetizers like karaage and gyoza.
Basically best ramen I've ever had. I had the miso ramen, which said that it's spicy but in my opinion it wasn't too spicy. Just a little zing. Definitely recommended to make a reservation beforehand. We didn't so we had to wait for a free table (which didn't took too long and we already got drinks.
Riewing B — Google review
It's okay. I'm spoiled to have been to some really great ramen shops in Japan and the states, but this was quite average. The egg was perfect, noodles were not overly soft or tender, but the flavor was not quite up to the same standard. Service was also average, took quite a long for two bowls of ramen. I'll go somewhere else next time I want ramen in Vienna.
Max R — Google review
The establishment presents itself as a hip, trendy venue. The ramen here is certainly above average, and the restaurant itself is an intriguing spot worth experiencing. That said, my chief grievance is their extreme stinginess. Portions are limited across the board: noodles, meat, even eggs. Each bowl comes with only half an egg, and extras must be ordered extra. Considering that a dozen eggs cost less than three euros at a supermarket, this seems unnecessarily parsimonious. Even basic condiments are itemized -- cuz they charge for those chopped pieces of onion, you know. The tsukemen was enjoyable, though it carried a pronounced aroma from fermented daikon. They told me fish was in the dish, but it was in fact bonito flakes. The minced chicken ramen was likewise tasty. The noodles were well-prepared, and the broth was genuinely the highlight of each dish. Yet both dishes are disappointingly modest in portion and somewhat different from the online images, leaving me feeling underwhelmed, particularly for the 16–17 euros spent. Service was very pleasant. Yeah, so it is a place where style occasionally outweighs generosity.
Grace E — Google review
Best Ramen in Vienna. Their vegan/vegetarian Ramens are so umami/flavorful. Only downside is having to pay in cash which we always forget.
Avalunea — Google review
What can I say ! The meal absolutely transported us to another world . It was perfect , Perfect ! I don’t mind the space is confined , it’s only cash payments , when the Yuzu Eistee to their starters , Ramen and Mochis are all so so perfect . 10/10 on taste for blackgarlic chilli oil Edamame , the Korean fried Chicken , the vegan Tonkotsu Ramen , matcha and the mango daifuku mochi . Fresh , delicious , superb noodles in ramen , one flavour bomb of menu . Thank you for the best meal . One of the best Ramen in the world and best in whole of Vienna.
Sam K — Google review
I've been here twice, and both times, I loved the food. They have vegetarian & vegan options, which are delicious 😋. My husband had the korean fried chicken, and he loved it. He said that it is the best one he had in Vienna so far.
Viktoriya P — Google review
I’ve always been a huge fan of Oreno Ramen. Over the past years, the food there has been refined even more. There are 2 vegan / vegetarian ramen that are mind blowing: 1. The Yuzu Truffle summer special, which is a cold bowl of ramen with an amazing taste. I rarely come across such flavorful vegan cold ramen and would recommend it wholeheartedly. 2. Yasai Ramen, that’s a classic vegan ramen at Oreno. In my opinion it’s the perfect-tasting vegan broth. I recommend adding even more toppings to make it even better. I especially love the staff team which is friendly, competent and always in a good mood. Clara the mops is of course also the mascot of the restaurant. I’d give 6 stars if possible.
Rorry L — Google review
Excellent ramen in the 7th district of Vienna and away from the crowds of tourists. Definitely check out this area for non-touristy places to eat. There is outdoor and indoor seating. I suggest making a reservation on the weekend as it is popular. We tried the Gyoza, Korean fried chicken, Miso Ramen and Tori Paitan Ramen Chashu. Everything was superb and they have a wide selection of drinks. Very reasonable prices.

Japanized western restaurant
Mochi is a Japanese restaurant in Vienna that offers a unique dining experience. The establishment is owned and operated by two couples, one Austrian and the other German. The restaurant serves creative Japanese dishes meant for sharing, similar to tapas. Their sushi special rolls are particularly popular, featuring original combinations such as the surf and turf option with tempura prawns inside and thinly sliced beef on top. Another highlight is the Dana roll, filled with tempura salmon and topped with truffle mayo.
We came here for sushi and sashimi only, and it was excellent. The fish was really fresh, cut perfectly, and you could taste the quality in every bite. Generous portions of sashimi, not thin slices like you sometimes get in Vienna. Service was friendly and quick without being pushy. Atmosphere is lively but relaxed. Prices are on the higher side, but fair for the quality. Definitely a place I’d come back to when craving proper sushi in the city.
G — Google review
In summer times, it can be very hot inside as the place is not air conditioned. The food is ok. It is imitation of Japanese cuisine. They use sauces that are not used in real Japanese rolls. Prices are not adequate to what you get for the value of your money.
Toro B — Google review
Great vegetarian options and drinks. Everything we ordered was delicious, would definitely come back and recommend. Quite busy, reservation is best.
Yanisa K — Google review
I just wanna say, I was flying with the flavors of this food, and i had a really great time with my coworker 😋, she invited me to have a great night and it was thanks to this amazing restaurant as well.
Luis G — Google review
We visited this restaurant with high expectations after seeing it featured on Michelin’s website, and overall, it was a memorable experience with both highs and lows. We started with some sushi: the Surf & Turf and the Hamachi Tiradito. The Surf & Turf was pleasant but not particularly exciting, while the Hamachi completely blew us away. It was truly unique, and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. Next came the Kushiyaki mix. Here, the skewered meats were a bit underwhelming—slightly dry and lacking the punch we had hoped for. In contrast, the vegetable skewers were a delight. The flavors of the marinade had soaked beautifully into the vegetables, making them the real stars of the dish. The Tori Karaage was another standout. Large pieces of chicken, perfectly crispy on the outside yet wonderfully juicy on the inside, served with a tasty dipping sauce—it was everything you want from karaage and more. Finally, the Burnt Lemongrass Chicken was nothing short of spectacular. Bold, aromatic, and incredibly flavorful, this dish alone made the entire experience worthwhile. On the drinks side, the wine list was impressively extensive. I struck gold with my very first choice: the Tsoulikouri 2023. It was so good that I happily stuck with it for the rest of the evening, enjoying four glasses in total. Highly recommended. In the end, while not every dish lived up to our lofty expectations, the highlights more than compensated. Some bites were simply good, while others were out of this world. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
X “ — Google review
Worth a 5 stars in food, but the service wasn’t as much as expected to get 5 stars. Order was missing and the host apologize quickly without a real apoligy and demeaning attitude . However the service was impeccable in timing and elegance. Music was very high and techno / house like, not ideal at lunch, and the decor is not that impressive or close to that. We took the daily menu with a very well balanced miso soup, the deep fried shrimps where not that original however, edamame where served with a very nice touch of horseradish, the meat seers and chicken swedes where good but not impressive at all. And the menu proposed way too much of teriyaki sauce. A sauce that is not refined whatsoever in my taste. Bottom line hat to the chef, bit too expensive for our expectations .
Naps P — Google review
Have been here twice and both times do not disappoint. The miso spinach and karaage are my favorites. Can get in walking up but better to make reservation.

Shouko Ramenbar is a haven for ramen enthusiasts, offering freshly prepared Japanese cult soup without any artificial colors, preservatives, or enhancers. Their specialty, the Tonkotsu Ramen, involves simmering pork bones for at least 18 hours to create a rich broth. In addition to an array of noodle soups, the restaurant also serves various sushi and maki options along with a selection of hot dishes.
We ordered fried pasta and rolls with fried shrimp — everything was prepared quickly and tasted amazing. The matcha latte was also delicious. We will definitely come back again!
Mirrey — Google review
I placed an order for delivery, and all the sushi were stuck to the box. You can see the gyoza in the photo – absolutely disgusting and inedible. The ramen arrived without the broth. The quality is terrible. It’s a disgrace.
Михаил Б — Google review
Sushi was quite good, had a couple of veggie rolls and weren’t out of this world but decent. The service was good and food was made very quickly. There is a very cute garden out back to sit outside in the fresh air with some plants. I did ask for water (as one typically does at dinner) and when I got my bill was shocked to see it cost me 6 euros! I am a tourist but hadn’t had that happen yet in Vienna for the whole week I’d been there, so just something to keep in mind and maybe ask if can have tap water.
Rachel S — Google review
Food was quite tasty, and service was very good. One thing -- as of when we went, they only take cash! We had to run to an ATM after our meal because we didn't know prior to eating. Other than that, great experience. Very good miso soup!
Theresa B — Google review
the vegan ramen was quite plain, the broth didn’t have a lot of flavour and was way too oily for my taste. the toppings were good, ordered extra tofu. the service was good but I have had better ramen in Vienna, especially for that price.

For me, without a doubt, the best ramen in Vienna. The Angry Chicken is just incredible with that yuzu touch. The rolls and other main dishes are great too!

Delicious Asia cuisine ! The Ambiente is clean and calm, but modern. The toilets are very clean and modern as well. Staff was very friendly. The red curry was one of the best ones I ate so far, the coconut cream was so thick and tasty I would recommend 10/10.

If you’re on a quest for a great bowl of ramen, this place delivers-it was delicious. Heads up: it’s cash only! Communication was also a bit of a challenge, as the staff didn’t speak English, which turned ordering into a bit of a guessing game! Overall, come for the ramen, but come prepared-with cash, patience and maybe a phrasebook 🍜💶

MAKA Ramen is a vibrant and dynamic ramen spot that opened in January 2022, fulfilling the dream of its young and energetic owners, Max and Katrin. The concept is simple yet exciting - every week, they send out a ramen menu to their email subscribers and social media followers. Customers can then order their ramen kits via direct messages or email. These kits contain all the fresh ingredients needed to create delicious ramen at home, including flavorful broth.
Delicious food and great service at MAKA Ramen for dinner. I sat at the chef’s counter so got a front row seat for the action. Plus got to have a great conversation with the chef and owners. The fried corn balls starter was perfect for summer. Even though they were friend, didn’t feel too heavy and stuffed with a lot of fresh corn and went perfectly with a cold beer. I got the beef ramen which is made with a beef and chicken stock that has a nice heft but still had some lighter notes. The broth had a nice saltiness to it that stood up well to the beef in bowl. I also added an extra soft boiled egg and their homemade fish cake which was really nice and had good texture. Would definitely come here again when back in Vienna! Thanks again for a delicious meal :)

Great restaurant! Tasty Ramen. Really nice service, great atmosphere. Pretty limited number of ramen dishes, however super tasty. We enjoyed the cocktails too. Thank you so much, Maka Ramen. Oh, I. Recommend making a reservation, it's super easy.

Great place to eat. Although you have only a few Ramen options to choose from, the one we took was awesome. Starter was also very tasty. The staff are very nice and helpful. All in all - we highly recommended this restaurant.

From all the ramen I have had in Austria this has to be the most delicious - even though the name may be somewhat of a misnomer here, the vegan variant tastes and looks nothing like a ramen would and the chicken broth - pork belly combination is also an unusual choice. Authenticity is not a requirement though and the soup definitely delivers with its rich and complex flavours, can fully recommend. The okonomiyaki was also a nice and tasty surprise - a rare find in Vienna.

The window tables is next to each other, so if u wanba talk with somebody its not perfect! I was there we my friend an we had 3 starters: cooked mushroom, melanzana & chicken. After we had 2 different Ramen as main course, everything was very superdelicious.

miso cashew ramen - broth was deliciously creamy, noodles were perfectly cooked, toppings good. overall, very good ramen! a good portion for the price. the staff was very friendly and approachable. (reservation recommended)

We had 3 people so we tried all 3 different ramen. My friend lives in Vienna for 7 years and she said this is the only ramen she likes so she took us here. Amazed and quite surprised to taste, because the flavor is both authentic and creative at the same time. At first we did not think kimchi ramen a good idea, but then it turned out to be our favorite among 3 bowls. Complex but balance, not an usual ramen you can find. Tonkotsu is rich, charsiu very on point, the vegan one with tomatoes and corn is light but still flavorful. 100% recommend, can't wait to come back Vienna to try second time.

Japanese restaurant
Takumi Yakisoba & Ramen Alservorstadt Wien is a popular ramen spot that has expanded from Germany to various parts of Europe, bringing the delicious flavors of Japanese cuisine closer to us. Their noodle soups are made from original recipes and authentic spices imported mainly from Japan. In addition to a wide range of ramen options, they also offer Yakisoba on their menu.
This is one of the best ramen I’ve ever had! Although I have tried a lot of veggie ramen before, the stock never quite convinced me but the ramen I had here was absolutely delicious! They have so many vegan and veggie options, spicy or non, and not just the basic miso soup, but so many different flavours as well. Although they are not that cheap, the price is definitely worth it and the portions were quite big. The inside looks fascinating with the decor and they also have space outside when the weather is beautiful. I would recommend this to every ramen lover and will definitely come again!

Great ramen! went there twice in a short visit to Vienna. Fantastic vegetarian ramen, lots of vegan options. Amazing service, quick making time, and very impressive dishes. Best tofu I've had in a ramen.
Omer M — Google review
Better than most ramen shops in Vienna, not as good as Mochi or Mari's, but much better than Makotoya, just to name a few. The meat broths are meaty, and the spicy broths are legit spicy (not "Austrian spicy"). The noodles are real ramen, not Chinese noodles that you find in some less authentic restaurants. However, the spicy tantan broth was sweet, which is very much not traditional Japanese. It was still tasty and I recommend it. I would say that the style of broth is not similar to any one particular region of Japan, but there are some elements of Hakata style and a little bit of Tokyo tourist style (especially because they sweeten the broth, probably to suit the taste of American tourists). I was able to substitute tofu for the meat at no additional cost. There are also plenty vegan options! Great tofu, very flavorful. The eggs are proper too. My friend got the teriyaki chicken ramen (not at all a traditional topping in Japan 😂) and said it was very good. I tried the broth and can confirm that it was tasty. The black garlic oil is a nice touch.
Saki M — Google review
Good ramen. Not great ramen. And I say that as a proficient fan of ramen. The slightly curly noodles were springy and bouncy. They quite reminded me of the kind I tasted in my childhood, in duck stew or hacao noodles out of hawker stalls run by Chinese immigrants. I've never been able to find that exact taste ever since. The broth was very good. But it was not soulful, as I would expect from a great bowl of ramen. But then again, if your soul is easily bribed... Because it was a bit of a trickster. It came heavily laden with diverse toppings. The toppings, shrimp skewer, fried chicken nuggets, are delicious by themselves, but I didn't expect a bowl of hotpot. Overall, it satisfied the craving. But when you’re paying 17 euros for a bowl of ramen, you expect something a little more...transportive. I felt a bit like my own culture had been polished up and sold back to me with a marked up price. Still. Nice bowl.

Perfect 10/10 score! I don't know what's authentic ramen, but I do know the food was excellent! Rich in flavor, soft, juicy and filled me up! Staff is really quick and helpful, professional and sweet, they work as a unit! The atmosphere is pure bliss. Cozy, inviting, great decorations! Definitely the best restaurant I have tried in Vienna so far!
GrooYa P — Google review
First of all, the place is chill, and the service is good and fast. The fried chicken is great. Having ramen will certainly fill you up since the portions are large. Ramen tastes okay, and it is lighter than a typical Japanese style. In this case, if you're someone who prefers soft flavors, then having a visit is a good idea. However, you may not feel satisfied if you are seeking authentic Japanese flavor.
WeiHsiang L — Google review
This is real Japanese style ramen with thick soup, soft pork belly and soft ramen egg. The noodles is good in texture. Although the soup is quite salty but I love this favour. If you miss Japanese Ramen, you will not be disappointed if you eat this. Highly recommended.

Mayer am Pfarrplatz is a historic Heuriger located in Vienna, offering seasonal lunches and dinners alongside a variety of Austrian wines. Situated near the Beethoven house and museum, this charming establishment has been producing Viennese wines since 1683. The cozy interior and vine-covered courtyard provide an inviting atmosphere to savor crisp Riesling and Gruner Veltliner whites paired with delectable snacks.
A truly authentic Viennese experience 🔥 This place feels like real Vienna — the staff wear traditional clothing, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. You won’t find beer here, because they have their own winery, which makes the experience even more unique. The prices are on the higher side, but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality and atmosphere. 👍🏻
Mariia S — Google review
The house where Beethoven once resided and wrote his famed Ninth Symphony now turned to a wine house and bistro. Known as "Beethoven's Heuriger" it has even created a special wine called "Beethoven Viennese White" to honor the composer. The house is a protected historical landmark, and visitors to the winery can still see the rooms where Beethoven lived. The setting has been described as being so well-preserved that it feels as if time has stood still, with many details from Beethoven's own descriptions of the surroundings still visible today.

Stunning and lovely place. So tranquil and relaxing. Amazing food, amazing wine and great service. I saw in the other reviews that prices were high, which is complete nonsense. Not sure what those people did, but the prices are very good and any other claim should not be taken serious. The service is also top. A must visit in Vienna.

A must go in Vien. You can see tradition, history and good food altogether. Definitely recommend. A tip for the wine tasting: it’s overpriced, although all wines are good.
Isabella F — Google review
Very disappointed 😞 Even though the location itself is great, beautiful outside seating area, the service was horrendous. The waiters barely came over our table even though the place was not busy. When I asked about the wine, the waitress was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, basically told I should just order and see how it tastes 🤦‍♀️ Same at the buffet - the serving lady couldn't explain what half of the cheeses were. The food was ok, but overall, it was pretty pricy - both the food and the wine. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

Well worth the trip out from central Vienna. Delicious food all sourced locally in a stunning location with a fascinating history. Wines from the proprietor’s own vineyards. Highly recommend the ribs!

Food: We had cordon bleu, ribs and the fried chicken. We all felt food was good overall. 4 stars because the lack of oomph, good but not special. Service: Staff are not the most attentive perhaps due to the crowd, but friendly and open to asking for help. Overall good. They did mix our orders a few times which I feel could be due to language barrier. I felt we should have been given a bigger table given the amount we ordered. I had to play tetris with my food to make space myself. 3 stars for meeting expectations, not terrible. We were challenged once for the repeated wrong order, which we felt was abit defensive, but we also knew from our interaction that English isn’t their usual language so i’m not offended and I think they understood too. They did try service recovery which we appreciate. Atmosphere: Well suited place for a taste of the scene as per what you will read about this place. Abit of a bustle but the lively sort, so i’m not complaining, it adds to the experience.

The restaurant was a delightful experience. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the wonderful chanterelle dishes. Each plate showcased the earthy and rich flavors of the mushrooms, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. To complement our meal, we enjoyed some of the inexpensive yet quality wine options available, which paired perfectly with our food. The atmosphere added to the charm of our visit. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. We particularly enjoyed the terrace, where we could relax and savor our meal in a lovely outdoor setting. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that I highly recommend.

Japanisches Restaurant NihonBashi, located in Vienna's Karlplatz, has gained a reputation as one of the top Japanese restaurants. Despite its unassuming appearance, this authentic eatery offers a delightful dining experience. Guests have praised the friendly staff and fresh sashimi, while others have enjoyed a variety of dishes such as agedashi tofu, sushi rolls, nigiri, soba noodles, and more. The lunch sets are particularly popular for their tasty and reasonably priced offerings.
Authentic Japanese dining experience in the heart of Vienna—truly a hidden gem. Food: Enjoyed their full set meal, which was a traditional Japanese dining style full-course meal with small dishes, rice, soup, and a main course. Every dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The highlight was the Kurodai fish which was cooked in a sweet-savoury sauce that enhanced its natural freshness Service: Impeccable attention to detail. The chef was friendly, and the staff provided meticulous service Atmosphere: Traditional and inviting, with Japanese floor mat seating that showed their authenticity. Very calm and intimate setting despite being in Vienna’s busiest district Easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in Europe so far! A must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine

5/5 experience, I can really say it's "fine dining". Japanese traditions are fine dining by its nature I think, like the portions, preparing the meals, it feels like premium natively. And also in this restaurant, the experience starts from getting inside. They welcome you beautifully and show a seat kindly. They reply your questions seriously and explanatory, can suggest meals for your likes, and serves finely. The meals were amazing, the taste is delicious, proportions are exactly right amount to be satisfied and full but not too much just the right, and the looking of the foods are beautiful like an art piece. And prices are very economic despite the experience you get from this fine dining. Only, I wish I could be able to sit in the traditional sitting room.

Came here for lunch on a Monday without a reservation. There’s a designated waiting area with cushions which was convenient as I had to wait around 10 minutes. I was seated at a small table tucked away in the corner closest to the kitchen, which was perfect as I was alone and felt like I could enjoy a quiet lunch on my own. I was very curious about their vegan menu so I decided to try the veganized “Nihonbashi Soba Set” menu which comes with soba, tempura, appetizer, and inari sushi. It was delicious and tasted authentic. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish everything because the portion was quite big. The only thing I would critique is that the hot yuzu tea I ordered was served in a water glass, so I had to wait for the tea to cool down to be able to touch the glass without hurting my fingers. I’m not sure why they didn’t serve the hot tea in a mug with a handle. The tea was yummy though. The service was friendly and efficient, and as far as I could tell, almost all servers speak Japanese, English, and German which was impressive. I was happy that I got to practice my Japanese, and the staff member who served me was kind enough to compliment my Japanese which made my day. Overall a positive experience that I would recommend to anyone willing to pay a bit of a higher price in exchange for an authentic Japanese meal in Vienna.

Perfect experience! Visited twice, sampled different menu items, and each time left the table thinking about when I could schedule a trip back! f you are looking for authentic Japanese food in Vienna, this is definitely the place to go. The dishes are prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and have a truly authentic flavor that makes you feel like you’re in Japan. The service is excellent — attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a simple yet elegant Japanese-style interior that adds to the overall dining experience. Prices are fair for the quality you get, making it a great option whether you’re going for a casual meal or a special night out.

Mama Liu & Sons is a stylish restaurant in Vienna that offers a modern twist on traditional Chinese cuisine. The industrial dining room features polished concrete, stainless steel, and murals depicting Chinese scenes. Known for its delectable hot pots and exceptional dumplings, the menu includes various options such as meat-filled or vegetarian dumplings prepared through steaming, frying, or deep-frying. The restaurant's street-food sensibility is reflected in its handmade sticky steamed dumplings and prompt service.
I just have to say that I was really satisfied with my visit here. All my dishes were delicious. It was an excellent culinary experience for me, everything had a lot of flavor. Recommended

If you are looking for overpriced joint with so so good, and not worth the hype, don’t look further. You can enjoy your tiny hotpot on the napkin sized table while being nicely squeezed with all other guests. You will also need to pay extra 4.5 for hotpot sauce (!!!). Your hotpot experience will be timed and after 2 hours you’ll have to pay in cash.

We made reservations for valentines day and took the first menu. A prepayment of 30 EUR per person was necessary to confirm the booking. Despite having made reservations for the specific menu, it seemed as though they had no idea regarding our menu reservation. After calling the waiter and checking, it took another 25 minutes until the appetizer was served. The wagyu beef and tiger prawn appetizer was delicious, portion size was small. For the price, 2-3 skewers instead of just 1 would have been nice. We went for the beef hot pot and so were told there was no other soup option but the beef soup. The ingredients were quite small portion, there was a container of beef, another container of pork, and one with veggies and some rice noodles. The sauce that was served at the table was just soy sauce, chili oil and some spring onions mixed together. My partner asked for some additional soup as the amount got less with some evaporation, we were charged for that. Mango tiramisu dessert was very good. Just a small comment that they were served on plates that were chipped. Maybe some people don’t mind, but serving with chipped tableware in a somewhat fancy restaurant just does not leave a good impression. All in all, as the main dish was the hotpot, I’d say that there are better places. Soup flavour suits the western palate, for me as an asian its just salty and lacking dimension. I have never experienced being charged for extra soup at a hotpot place ever.. so that was really off-putting. In addition to charging for free tap water. Last but not least, this place only takes cash. So not very convenient for people who like to go cashless. For the nice appetizer and dessert, 3/5 stars.

The waiter provided information on how long to cook each item and when to add to the add to the pot. This was a very interesting and amusing experience.

This Chinese hotpot and dumpling restaurant in Vienna was an enjoyable experience with its flavorful hotpot and delicious dumplings. The cool atmosphere adds to the overall enjoyment. However, the service could be more attentive considering the price range is a bit on the higher side for Chinese food.

Fantastic Chinese cuisine experience! I was initially skeptical coming from California, but I was delightfully surprised by the creative flavors, plus the fresh ingredients. The portion is similar to tapas - good for sharing between 2 people. Everything we ordered was excellent. Note: the flavors are more like Chinese fine dining rather than a hole-in-a-wall authenticity. Both are great in their own way. 2 of us came at 6pm on Saturday without a reservation but were lucky to be seated right away. most tables were already reserved except for one communal table, and many large groups so you should try to reserve ahead. The price is a bit on a steeper side. We ordered 7 dishes, a cocktail and a tea. Total was around €60

Japanese restaurant
Nestled in the charming Majolikahaus at Linke Wienzeile 40, Hiroko-san is a delightful little gem that offers an authentic taste of Japan right in the heart of Vienna. This cozy eatery specializes in Japanese street food, serving up delicious bowls of Udon and Soba noodles, as well as Onigiri and various rice dishes, including vegetarian options.
The best Japanese food I've had in Vienna. Delicious Udon and Somen, very tasty Onigiri as well. Tiny, cozy restaurant with very limited seating; seats 8 ppl at most on tables outside, not many more inside. It can be difficult to get a spot at peak hours (early lunchtime, approx. 12:00-13:30), as it's right next to the well-known market. The place has a very typical Japanese feel to it - not only because of its miniature format and bench-style inside seating, but also because of the extremely warm and friendly service. With their kindness and their delicious food, the family that runs this place provides some much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of Naschmarkt. Strong recommendation.

The best okonomiyaki ever. Great service & udon (okonomiyaki is no longer served). Really tiny eatery. Despite narrow sit and all, I would recommend this place. I had nabeyaki udon with shrimps. Udon by hiroko San is just fantastic 👌

Went there for the first time today (as it is open only until 5pm) and was not disappointed. Great and friendly staff that greet and say goodbye to you all together. Food was excellent, I had the Beef Udon: silky noodles, hearty broth and tender meet, simply amazing. The food does not arrive immediately, but takes a bit of time as it is prepared from scratch (soup comes boiling hot, so watch out). Definitively worth the short wait, which you can use to look around in the tiny shop, that looks exactly how I would imagine a Japanese Udon place to look like. 5 stars without any doubt, I will be back.
Thomas T — Google review
Nice little Japanese place where you can find good authentic Japanese food. The drawbacks are that it can only seat 8 and that you can pay cash only. Preparation takes about 20 minutes, but all is hot. This is the only place I found when I was looking to eat something other than soups and sushi / sashimi. I ordered a beef okonomy yaki, but because of the preparation time, ordered some takoyaki also. Employees are really nice and try to help. They also don’t look funny at you if you ask for a knife and fork (they actually have a large collection). The restaurant is easy to find and has access to public transport, especially by underground metro, being in the Naschmarket. All in all, if I find an empty seat, I’ll take it.

Despite being a bit far from the city center, the reasonable pricing makes it worth the trip. The diverse menu features both basic and gourmet sushi options that are of top-notch quality. Great all-you-can-eat experience! The food was delicious, with no limits on portions, so you can truly enjoy as much as you want. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. A perfect place to enjoy a good meal without worrying about restrictions. Highly recommend!

I really like there, foods were hot, fresh, there were variety of options in sushi, main dishes and desserts. The service was fast and the robot was sweet. I only wanted tiramisu but it was not available, I also did not see the options like lobster, full salmon plate that I saw on the internet. You shouldn't expect high quality in meals and desserts. I paid 9.90€ for one of their campaigns so don’t know their usual prices. But in short, I was full, I was bloated, it was worth it!

Went for dinner recently, was curious to try the menu and their specialties. First impressions were nice, but need to wait a bit of time for the drinks, a lot plates of start to arrive but not the beverage. Don’t recommend for eat sushi/sashimi, the sashimi cuts were chunks of tuna and salmon, not respecting the fine cut to be served, and the tuna was still tasting as frozen… If you like all you can eat, maybe is better to eat more Asian dishes. Was expecting more and the food was more delicious, but normally in big places, the standard is low on the end, due the amount of people they are serving.

Fabulous, absolutely fabulous! Don't loose your time with Ebi, this one is much, much better! The robot servant is really interesting and futuristic. The quality is good and variety very wide. Wasabi and ginger at discretion. Sushi is good, fast service. The place is not crowded and it was easy to find a table. A must if you're visiting Vienna!!

It was ok, the food is decent but nothing spectacular. We went during an event they were doing, 10€ all you can eat for lunch. It seemed that they were ill prepared for the business it brought, when we first arrived a worker told us that with no reservation there was no space, but we stuck around for another 5 minutes and a different worker gave us a table. Most of the food arrived quickly, except for the sushi, which we waited for more than 40 minutes for, at which point we had to leave. We caught a manager nearby though and explained how long the sushi took, and that we now had to go, and he at least gave us part of what we had ordered to go, which was nice.

All you can eat!! After visiting 1-2 times, you sure know what not to order, and can really fill up on good protein. Food is easy to order and arrives fast! If you have dietary restrictions, there is a way to filter out ingredients you ought to avoid. And the kitty bot servers are awesome :D Tips: * Bring your own water bottles, because they sure make their money from overpriced drinks. * The "sushi" rice isn't good, so don't stuff yourself with it.. Side dishes are mediocre as well. I strongly recommend this place! Just order smart ;)

Good concept, as it is really interesting, the idea of ordering with your cellphone and a robot brings the food. I'd say it's the perfect place for an introvert. The price is the best for the options around Vienna, although the restaurant is a bit far from the center, but there's a metro line close to HIRO. The menu has many different options, some basic sushi, others more advanced and gourmet. They all taste extremely good and gonna make your money's worth.

Some of the best Japanese food I've had in my life! As soon as you walk in you feel like you've been transported to a cozy restaurant in Japan. Everything from the design, layout, food, and customer service felt so authentic and immersive. I loved how they had Japanese art and ceramics for sale, and with explanations about the process. I had the tofu udon here and it was really delicious. The serving size was on the smaller size, so you definitely need an appetiser to go with, which makes it a little more expensive. We had the vegetable dumplings and they were very tasty. For desert we had the assortment of three which included two mochi flavours and a matcha cake. The cake was super fluffy and everything was delicious.
Lily C — Google review
Very cozy restaurant. Udon was very delicous! Matcha Tiramisu was so good! Love the cozy atmosphere! But beware it gets full quick! Reservation is recommended! I was turned away once and second time I was lucky to get a free table after waiting few mins! Next time I‘ll reserve :-) Thank you!

Booked a table for 20:30 pm all the onigiri were finished, no much options for sushi if that’s what you’re looking for and the menu is a bit confusing. Food once arrives it tasty but staff was (seems to me) a bit distracting red and tired. Quiet atmosphere and great for a date.
Beatriz G — Google review
The place is very cute, in a good location. Prices are quite higher than then other Japanese places but still good. The food is delicious and the service was also good, the waitresses were kind even if we were late ☺️

Great atmosphere. Little gem in the city. Staff were nice and helpful. The udon was some of the best I’ve had. One member of my group who got sushi got food poisoning that night and this was the only place we ate out that day :/

Ate lunch here. Excellent food. A large palette of Japanese tastes in the Bento. Also enjoyed the plum wine on a HOT summer day. Staff is SUPER friendly, helpful and fast. A hidden Jem that’s a MUST visit!
Mirvais Y — Google review
On one hand, the food was incredible – hands down the best tempura I have ever had. On the other hand, someone in our group got food poisoning after eating the sushi. Hopefully that was just a fluke, because everything else was wonderful.

I really enjoyed myself here. This was my first visit and the food was delicious. The ladies who worked there were all very sweet. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy, and everything was fresh and properly prepared. So nice.

I saw a recommendation about this restaurant but I was surprised how not tasty the sushi was. We had 2 rolls them both were not to our taste. Then we had a desert ‘matcha tiramisu’ that was so dry, probably not from the same day. Big disappointment. Also we were sitting outside and the waitress almost didn’t come outside, we had to wait long until they served.
Osnat M — Google review
We was pleasantly surprised by food and service. Portions are big and sushi is very tasty. Very kind waiter and waitress they give us a bit of the show with a steam on our plates. Interiors also very cute and traditional for Asian food. Please are clean and easy reachable.
Amaliya G — Google review
Food was nice but not great - for example the okonimiyaki were very mushy and the octopus in the takoyaki quite rubbery. The service was very uninterested - we had to actively flag them down to get served.
Alexandra U — Google review
Where do I begin? Sushi rice wasn’t well seasoned. It crumbled when you touched it. Quality of the fish was under par. The (frozen) unagi was extremely sweet. It was drenched in teriyaki sauce that I could barely taste the unagi. The seaweed used to wrap Gunkans was soggy and not the right seaweed for the job. Resulting in highly unpleasant chewiness. For the price they ask for I expected a way better quality of everything. So, for me they’re in the same league with Kojiro/Matcha Komachi/Akakiko but with a lot higher price. In short, if you ever really tried the real Japanese food before, be it in Düsseldorf or Kyoto, you’ll likely not enjoy Mikata. But if you can tolerate a little Chinese flare in Japanese food then this should passable. However, for this price I’d rather hit KitchA instead. Not that I’m a fan of KitchA, but you’ll get similar dishes with a tiny better quality.

Really good food and very friendly and fast Service i highly recommend the Rolls! They come with a smoky surprise

We tried the hotpot set for 2, it was our first hotpot! The options were really nice (combination of meat and fish). It was also a perfect portion, not to much, but still full and happy. The interior looks really cosy and the staf is very friendly and helpful. They also explain to you how to cook all the ingredients. Nothing negative about this place, we had a great experience and we will come back to try out the sushi!

Nestled near the bustling Naschmarkt, Kojiro 3 offers a delightful escape into the world of Japanese cuisine with its serene and minimalist ambiance. This restaurant is celebrated for its robust Shoyu and Miso ramen, which are served in generous bowls brimming with marinated eggs, fresh sprouts, and tender pork belly or minced meat.
Not only Sushi but Ramen is so delicious! Special noodle recipe and more than 10 hours cooked bouillon. Ramen in Miso-Sesame soup is really great!
Naoko W — Google review
Ok ramen, sometimes a bit light though. The meat could have been from a bit better quality and maybe a little more toppings like nori leaves. The sushi and matcha ice cream are delicious! I'll be coming back! :)
Olivier — Google review
Before coming here I thought it’ll be packed with people. I got here a little before 5.30 and surprised to see that it opened. The food was fine. I got tofu and fried chicken for starters and they were amazing—I would have to say better than most of the Japanese places in London. The ramen that I got, however, was a bit on the downside. The broth tastes salty, and I would assume that’s because of its originality. I wonder why noodles are shorter than most ramen places. (definitely handcrafted tho) I was offered a pepper sprinkle on the side, I don’t know what that was, perhaps more instructions for the pepper sprinkle could be helpful? Will be at the place next time for rice dishes!
Calvin F — Google review
Really good japanese restaurant, big portion sizes and appetizers taste very nice. I would expect around 20€ per person if you order an appetizer as well. Had the ebi tempura as appetizer and chicken yaki udon as main course. There is basically always something free so you don't have to reserve a table.
Lucas K — Google review
Bearing in mind that this is located in Austria (far from a haven of good Asian restaurants) and nowhere near an ocean / fish market, this restaurant is actually satisfactory. Good location & friendly staff. Cash only. Miso ramen = flavoursome, rich broth. Tasty noodles. Chashu was ok. Sushi = Satisfactory but expensive. Would return - but not for a special occasion.

Delicious Japanese food in a lovely restaurant; good and friendly service; I ordered the Kojiro Dozen set which includes salmon and tuna sashimi, mixed prawn & vegetable tempura, grilled salmon with rice, miso soup and mixed salad. Everything was good quality and delicious. I will return to try out their other dishes and interesting Sake (Japanese rice wine) cocktails

Waited very long time for our waiter to take our orders because he was busy typing on his mobile phone, even there are only people the other two tables. Food was delivered very quickly, faster than going to McDonald's. The sushi get super thin slice of fish. This restaurant only accept cash payment, and if you need a receipt for your business/work you need to ask for it, otherwise you get non.

came across this place randomly but absolutely loved it! Nice interior, dishes are nicely presented, have great taste and seem authentic. I had the Dan Dan Mie as main dish (vegan). They had a great taste though the tofu could also be replaced by veggie minced meat. As dessert I tried the milk breads with condensed milk and the glutinous rice ball soup (my favourite). Portion sizes could be slightly bigger but overall I highly recommend

Very cool restaurant. Love the street-style concept! The food had a huge variety of Chinese cuisine which you don't get every where. The Binge Naan bread is my favorite! Their homemade ice-teas are also great. It's definitely a better experience than the next door Chinese restaurant.

I tried the vegetarian option at this Asian restaurant today. While the food was okay overall, it wasn’t really to my taste. That said, the place is very clean, and the staff were kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. Even though the food wasn’t my favorite, I appreciated the good service and atmosphere.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Nestled along the Wienzeile, Shokudo Kuishimbo is a charming family-run eatery that captures the essence of authentic Japanese cuisine in Vienna. With its intimate setting accommodating just eight guests, this cozy spot has become a beloved destination for locals seeking delectable dishes like Udon soup and the renowned Nasu no Agebitashi—deep-fried eggplant that’s simply irresistible. The atmosphere may feel a bit snug, but it adds to the unique dining experience.
Vienna in the summer, a city of waltzes and schnitzel, but tonight, my companion and I craved a taste of the East. A Japanese Izakaya beckoned us with its promise of sake and small plates. The aesthetic was spot on, a little slice of Tokyo in the heart of Austria. We ordered with abandon, the usual suspects: Karaage, Takoyaki, Zaru soba. The Karaage arrived first, a golden mountain of fried chicken. One bite, and I was transported. Crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned. The mayo dipping sauce, a creamy counterpoint to the crunchy bird. This was Karaage done right. The rest of the meal was pleasant enough, but the Karaage stole the show. And then, the kicker. The cocktail bar next door, a dimly lit den of mixology, wouldn't let us order food from the restaurant. A missed opportunity, a culinary tease. Ah well, such is the life of a wandering eater. Highlight: The Karaage, a crispy, juicy revelation. Expected More: The chance to pair those cocktails with some damn good food. So, until next time, keep exploring and keep tasting. Yours in food, H. Griboi

I visited twice while in Vienna (once for a meal, once for tapas). I did come for the tonkatsu but they only have it for winter 😢. Really great food, reminded me very much of Japan, and the Umeshu sour was so nice on a hot day! Great service ☺️
Kristine V — Google review
The food tasted quite authentic, it was Asia through and through. I was especially delighted by their tonkatsu, it really reminded me of the ones at home. Also comes with rice, soup and a salad. As for the starters, the karaage was great but I think the takoyakis could benefit with mayo on top. Overall it’s a cosy place to dine in, not too spacious so it could get a bit loud but it still has a home-y vibe to it. I will surely be back when I crave tonkatsu again
Kim M — Google review
Kuishimbo ist a very nice little restaurant with amazing dishes. The menu is simple, it gives you enough choices to feel happy and the taste is really like in Japan. We had some deep fried chicken (kaarage), seaweed (mozuku - which was absolutely amazing), natto, rice, miso soup, beer and water. There are some fish dishes as well, octopus dough balls (takoyaki), shrimp dishes, curry dishes and noodles (udon & soba), mochi, ice cream and many more to choose from. There are many vegan and vegetarian options as well, so this is the right address if you have such preferences. The service was impeccable, they really have a very friendly staff and the food delicious! We will definitely go back again.

perfect for a true experience of japanese cuisine (do not expect sushi, maki & co), all dishes were fresh, well seasoned, carefully prepared and delicious. very nice staff there too. only a few adjustments can still be made in terms of comfort (wardrobe, hangers, chairs). it‘s small, make a reservation!
Katharina W — Google review
Shared a meal with my wife and it was absolutely delicious, we had sashimi and ramen. The venue is quite small so reserving a table is very recommended especially during weekend or busy hours. The staff was very courteous and helpful, we had some questions and we don't speak good German, but they helped us speaking English. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the table we got was quite uncomfortable, but it was because we didn't reserve, so we got the last available table at far corner of the restaurant. Tomorrow we're going back with a reservation and that should say everything about the quality of this place.

La Taquería Chiquitita is a small and authentic spot in Vienna that offers a self-service concept for filling tortillas with five different options, including unique fillings like Hidalgo-style lamb or braised beef tongue. The menu caters to both meat lovers and vegans/vegetarians, with freshly prepared tacos that are praised for their delicious flavors. While the tacos are on the smaller side, they make for a satisfying snack.
I love the small bistro. It give such a relaxing flair. I love the simple set up. The open buffet is maybe not everyone’s thing but I think it’s a very good set up. The prices are quite reasonable and the tacos 🌮 are one of a kind. I surely will come again with my family and friends.

Truly the best taco’s in vienna by far. Not only is the staff extremely kind and welcoming but definitely know what they are doing in the taco department. Simply perfect. Very reasonably priced and the fact that you can choose your own toppings is the chili ;) on top

All the Tacos are delicious I tried all of them, the frozen margaritas are good and they have a wide variety of beers. I really loved the toppings counter since is the Mexican style ☺️ the ambiance and decoration is beautiful, the salsas are spicy and tasty. You have to stop by to eat authentic Mexican tacos here! Btw I am Mexican and I can say it tastes like Mexico 🇲🇽🌮🥰

Definitely authentic Mexican food with good offer. Checks out in most aspects as other authentic places in Europe - has majority of imported goods from Mexico. Unfortunately no option for washing hands, kinda important fact considering that tacos should be eaten using hands. Place has very nice design touches and it’s a shame it’s developed just as fast food concept. Wishing all the best and would be coming back if I’m in the area.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and had the best meal! The shop is small and only has high top tables so it’s great for a small group (we were a group of 9 and still made it work)! The meals change often but there are always 5 to choose from. If they have the Birria, GET IT! Toppings are all added on your own which is amazing!
Maggie B — Google review
I got only one as a tester but I can confirm that it was delicious. This was so worth it and I'd definitely recommend getting more than one because this was great!!! Also the sauces were 10/10. There was a nice little bit of spice but it wasn't too crazy and added to the overall flavour of everything.
S. 宋 — Google review
This was my first experience, and I will be back! I had the carnitas tacos, which were freshly and expertly prepared. The meat was perfectly cooked! They have a bar to load up your own toppings (i.e. onions, cilantro, etc., etc.). As an American living in Vienna, finding the best tacos is an imperative, and this may be the spot. I'll be back!

The Japanese restaurant Asahimoto in the Simmering district of Vienna may not have an ideal location, as it is situated amidst a shopping area. However, it offers a trendy atmosphere that suits the neighborhood well, with its chic yet minimalist decor. Food was good and delicious but it was a little bit too much wasabi in Sushi for us. The main reason why it was one of the worst experience is service. Waiters are so unfriendly and angry even though we just came there to have a dinner and were polite. It was uncomfortable to be there and we could never ever expected such an attitude in Japanese restaurant especially.

Discover the latest hotpot sensation, HEY!HOTPOT, a newly opened restaurant that has already made a name for itself. With separate soup bases for each diner, this spot offers a unique and personalized dining experience. The food is described as absolutely delicious, with high praise for the thin meat slices and house-made shrimp balls. However, some guests noted that these special items were not readily available in large quantities.
The best hotpot place in Vienna! What makes this place great is that everyone gets their own individual hotpot, so you can choose the soup base that suits your taste — a big plus when dining with friends. The sauce station is impressive, with lots of variety, plus tasty extras like spicy cucumbers and kimchi. We usually go for beef and lamb, but there’s also a good selection of seafood, plenty of fresh vegetables, and different types of noodles. All the starters (like jiaozi and spring rolls) are included and unlimited, which is a nice touch. There’s even a small dessert section with ice cream, fruit, and puddings. Highly recommended — 10/10!
Milana O — Google review
Comfortable setting with each person getting their own pots and soups. Being able to freely get other ingredients yourself like a buffet definitely adds to convenience as well. However as much as I want to love it, the quality of the food seems to be lacking

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Vienna and it is definitely worth the visit. The food is delicious and a great variety of vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces, mushrooms, etc. For a € 31 all you can eat, including dessert also. servers are always very helpful and friendly (unfortunately we don’t speak German and they don’t speak English) however they still manage to give us an amazing experience. Highly recommend to make reservation.

One of the best hotpot restaurants in Vienna. Everyone has their own individual hot pot which increase the hygiene as some people may use their chopsticks 🥢 or spoons to pick the food from hot pots. A variety of sauces, food selection and desserts to select. Fresh, wide variety of selection, different soup based . Highly recommended.
Kim K — Google review
For Vienna this can be considered a decent and reasonably priced all you can eat Hot Pot experience. The Hot Pot bar and sauce bar is well maintained and stocked. You can find fresh and frozen ingredients. Meat, poultry, seafood, tofu in all kinds of varieties, veggies, noodles. Only fresh lamb and beef will be served by a server from a cart that stops by throughout your stay. The soup is served in a separate pot for each patron and temperature can be adjusted individually, like at many Hai Di Lao restaurants. Soup refills are done with hot water. Included is an order from a selection of starters as well, but they are nothing to phone home about. Tasteless and uninspired. Just go for the Hot Pot. You can also get dessert in a self serve area. They have a few ice cream flavors, pudding, and some fruits. As for the ambience, it's a bit loud, especially when you come in the music is blaring at you. At the tables further to the back it's luckily not as loud anymore. One nice touch are the separator walls between the booths. It feels a bit more private, I liked that a lot.
Lydia S — Google review
Love hot pot here. You can have your own pot one by one. It’s all-you-can-eat. You can choose from wild selection of meat, veggies, sea foods, and noodles! They also have some appetizers for you to order. I love their source station which you can make your favorite original hot pot source. I’ve only been here for Friday lunch so it’s not clouded but I bet it’ll be very popular in the weekend.

Incredible Japanese-Italian fusion. Great sharing menu but dinner reservations are a must. Strong wine list and good cocktails. Service is excellent in both German and English and the space, an old cafe, has a great vibe. Not too loud and tables are well sized for sharing dishes amongst a group. Highly recommended.

The service staff was generally good – attentive, fast, and polite. We sat in the garden and never went inside, so I can’t comment on the atmosphere indoors. However, the garden was right next to the main road, and I didn’t find it very pleasant. The plates, food, and drink presentations were all quite nice. But the most important thing – the taste – was lacking in my opinion. The noodles and fish were too saucy, and we couldn’t finish either of them. The corn wasn’t tasty, and the salad was too simple. In terms of price-performance, it fell short. I don’t think I would go again.
Egemen D — Google review
Had a phenomenal meal here, everything was fantastic. Had the tuna crudo, the pork and the cacio e pepe udon. The tiramisu was one of the best I have had. Service was great and so is the atmosphere. Their miso butter and sourdough bread is to die for.
Carla P — Google review
Cuccina Itameshi kept popping up on my Instagram feed as a must visit when coming to Vienna! Those recommendations were correct, as Cuccina Itameshi exceeded my expectations and gave me one of the best meals I’ve had so far this year. They do a truly good job blending Japanese and Italian flavors. Among the highlights was their ibérico pork, rich in flavor, and their pastas. Their presentation of baby corn is by far the best preparation I’ve had of baby corn EVER! Their Beef Cacio e Pepe blended flavors so nicely, just had to savor it all, as it was rich and tangy and just a perfect dish. The strangest all-star of the meal, something we kept asking the wait staff about because it was a flavor and texture blend we never had this nicely before, was their bread and miso butter. Note, there’s a €6.50 Euro cover for each person than includes water—still or sparkling—as well as the bread. Not only was the bread fresh, the butter was creamy and umami, so easy to spread and something we kept eating throughout our meal because we couldn’t turn it away! Thank you for an amazing meal and an amazing experience!!
Benjamin S — Google review
The miso butter was amazing. We had the aubergine and tomato starter (italo kimchi) which did not have much flavour and was cold which we didn't expect. For the rest, everything was delicious, we had the udon cacio e pepe and the spicy rigatoni both were incredible though the rigatoni weren't actually spicy at all but great flavour. They recomment 4 to 6 dishes for 2 people but we found this exaggerated, we had the starter and 2 dishes and this was more than enough for us especially since you also get bread when you arrive. The pudding dessert was great too!
Mariana Z — Google review
I don’t understand how this place could get anything below 5 stars — because I’d like to thank all our lucky stars that this restaurant exists :) If you get nothing else, please PLEASE get the bread and miso butter because it’d be unlike anything else you’ve ever had. I’m wishing I live in Vienna so I could come back just for the butter. It’s that good — a depth-filled umami savouriness with a hint of charred goodness. Thank you for letting us dine with you last evening, Cucina Itameshi, and please keep existing so we can come back 2 years later.
Chelsea H — Google review
To summarise: I’m happy I tried but I don’t think I’ll come again Service: they were quick to seat us and take our drink orders. Then it took forever to order the food, and even longer for the food to arrive (although we had for example ordered cacio e pepe which generally doesn’t require too much time to prepare). Overall, they might have been understaffed because the waiters looked stressed and people around us were complaining that they were also waiting forever to just order a beer. At least the waiters were nice :) Food: mmyeah it was ok. I’d say it’s mostly Italian with some Japanese touches. Flavours felt… basic, as if they decided to play it safe. I don’t think it’s worth the money you pay for each dish (except the tuna, I highly recommend that one). The amount of food was good though, at least for the things we ordered. It was just a bit confusing because the website says you should order quite a few dishes, and then some came out small and some were surprisingly big (like the fried rice).
Gisèle U — Google review
Fusion cuisine can be magic—when done right, it’s like watching two cultures dance. But at Cucina Itameshi, it sometimes feels more like a polite handshake where no one really knows what to say. I came in full of curiosity and moderately high hopes. First up: the Udon Cacio e Pepe. A brilliant concept in theory. In practice? A portion so small it could’ve been plated with tweezers, and a flavor profile so mild it whispered gently and then vanished. If a pasta dish could apologize for existing, this one would. The wasabi salad was the real surprise—punchy, vibrant, and full of flavor. Honestly, I was halfway convinced it wandered in from another restaurant. The grilled yakiniku chicken was also solid: juicy, charred just right, and mercifully not trying to be anything it wasn’t. Just chicken. Doing its job. For €26.50, I appreciated its effort. Now let’s talk about the €6.50 per person table charge—because nothing says “welcome” like a cover fee for the privilege of sitting at your table and not running away when you see the menu prices. All in, I paid more than I should have for less food than I needed, and left considering a second dinner. On the bright side, Celina—our server—was absolutely fantastic. Warm, knowledgeable, and the kind of person who could talk you into ordering anything. If you do go, ask for her. Seriously. She deserves to work at a place that doesn’t charge rent for the chair you're sitting in. The vibe? Trendy, sleek, and just the right amount of pretentious to let you know you're in a restaurant that wants you to know you’re in a restaurant. It’s definitely more "Instagram story" than "comfort meal." And while it may ride high on the popularity of the Mochi group name, I couldn’t help but feel like the hype outweighs the substance here. Final verdict: come for the aesthetics, stay for Celina, and maybe eat somewhere else before or after.

Modern izakaya restaurant
Nagano is a trendy Japanese izakaya restaurant in central Vienna, offering a stylish interior and delicious Japanese cuisine with fusion flavors. The signature rolls are particularly noteworthy, although some diners feel that the fish dishes could use more seasoning. The friendly and attentive staff contribute to the overall pleasant dining experience. Despite a few missing items from orders, customers still recommend Nagano for its great taste and cool atmosphere.
Fun experimental spot that’s worth a visit. Cute twists on known dishes, equally appreciable interior vibes.

The quality of the rice and fish is excellent. The teas are also good. Unfortunately, the wakame salad has a very specific taste. The desserts are clearly complex and require a lot of preparation, but their flavor was a bit disappointing for us. The atmosphere is wonderful—everything looks stylish and cozy. Dishes were served very quickly!

It was such a nice surprise! Loved the starters and the sides, such great combination. Will def be back soon

I really loved the place. Service was top notch and the degustation menu very tasty. We enjoyed our dinner outdoor since it was a very nice summer evening. My only negative point is that even if it is a degustation menu, there could be the possibility to present some dishes better and be easy to share. Soup or the salad, maybe better in a smaller plate for each guest.

Nagano Vienna offers a refined and modern take on Japanese cuisine, blending traditional flavors with innovative twists. Set in a cozy, minimalist space, the restaurant delivers a unique dining experience that’s both visually and gastronomically impressive. Each dish is carefully crafted with attention to detail, resulting in an unforgettable culinary journey. Dishes: - Lotus Root Salad with Marinated Onsen Egg: This refreshing salad is a beautiful balance of flavors and textures. The preserved lotus root offers a slightly chewy texture, paired with vibrant edamame and sweet cherry tomatoes. The marinated onsen egg is perfectly soft, adding a rich, velvety element to the dish. It’s a refreshing and flavorful appetizer that sets the tone for the rest of the meal. - Beef Tartare Nagano's take on beef tartare comes with a unique Asian twist. The beef is finely seasoned and paired with crispy seaweed tempura chips, offering a satisfying crunch alongside the rich, creamy tartare. The kimizu sauce adds a delicate tang, balancing the richness of the beef. This dish is an excellent fusion of textures and flavors, showcasing the chef’s creativity. - Preserved Mackerel with Watermelon Jerky An intriguing dish that pairs rich, umami-flavored mackerel with the unexpected addition of watermelon jerky. The sweet and chewy jerky contrasts beautifully with the boldness of the mackerel, creating an adventurous and satisfying combination. Served with osuimono sud, a light and fragrant Japanese broth, this dish offers a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. - Crusty Crab Roll A true signature dish, this sushi roll is topped with a crispy snow crab croquette and filled with avocado-shiso cream, prawn, cucumber, and truffle mayo. Finished with black truffle and Parmigiano, it’s an indulgent, rich, and perfectly balanced roll that combines crunch, creaminess, and umami in every bite. - Karaage The karaage at Nagano stands out for its creative interpretation. While prepared differently than the traditional Japanese version, it still boasts incredibly tender chicken with a perfectly crispy coating. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, the karaage offers a delightful crunch and bold flavor that make it a must-try starter. - Grilled Pulpo The grilled octopus is a true culinary highlight at Nagano. Cooked to perfection, the tender octopus is served with a rich black ink hollandaise that adds a velvety, umami-packed depth. The bell pepper jam provides a sweet and tangy counterbalance to the richness, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. This dish is a perfect example of how the restaurant elevates familiar ingredients with modern techniques and bold pairings. - Sakura Cheesecake with Yuzu Cream This dessert offers a light and refreshing end to the meal. The cheesecake is not overly sweet, which is characteristic of many Asian desserts, and the yuzu cream adds a refreshing, citrusy note. It’s a perfect finish for those who prefer a dessert that is elegant and not too heavy. - Homemade Yuzu and Blueberry-Rosemary Ice Cream Nagano’s homemade ice creams are a true treat. The yuzu flavor is bright and refreshing, while the blueberry-rosemary is more complex, with herbal undertones. Both options are a delicious way to round out the meal and leave the palate feeling cleansed and satisfied. The service is excellent, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who provide insightful recommendations and ensure that the pacing of the meal is perfect. Each dish is explained with care, making the dining experience both enjoyable and seamless. Nagano Vienna excels at blending the traditional with the modern, offering inventive and beautifully presented dishes that impress both visually and in flavor. From the indulgent Crusty Crab Roll to the intriguing combination of mackerel and watermelon jerky, the restaurant pushes the boundaries of Japanese cuisine in exciting ways. For an exceptional dining experience in Vienna, Nagano is a must-visit.

Good food, good service, good times. I ordered many times from the menu, and all of them were very satisfactory, especially the honey glazed pork belly. Along with the dishes, I ordered a bottle of sake, a glass of whiskey and a glass of cocktail. The taste combination of the food and the drinks I ordered were very harmonious. The gentleman who served my table was very friendly, kind, professional, and I thoroughly enjoyed his service. If you're a heavy eater, you'd probably have to stop by a local McDonald's on the way home because the serving sizes are particularly large. I had a pleasant visit, and I will certainly return for more.

I recently dined at a hip Japanese izakaya restaurant in Vienna and was impressed by the flavors of the food and the minimalist stylish vibe of the place. Most of the dishes were delicious, showcasing Japanese fusion flavors. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. However, there were a couple of items that we ordered missing from the kitchen.. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this restaurant for its great taste and cool atmosphere.

Good place for Japanese dishes. They have a special twist. The octopus is delicious and the sushi rolls are good. Unfortunately we received the one promised with truffle with no truffle and the croquettes weren't entirely hot. They were still tasty just different than expected based on the desct in the menu.

Ramen restaurant
KIBŌ Ramen & Izakaya is a cozy ramen bar that also offers Japanese tapas and rice bowls. They serve a variety of meat, vegetarian, and vegan ramen with different broths. In addition to their selection of Japanese beers and sake, they also offer unique drinks like Yuzu Spritz made with Yuzu Sake, Prosecco, green tea, and honey-ginger.
Got the pork ramen and it was great! Really tasty and it was served quickly. Just needs to accept card and this a perfect spot

Udon Carbonara was good. Tofu veggie ramen was really not. I would not recommend getting this dish. The broth was somehow sweet, tofu was not well seasoned. The worst were the bamboo shoots in the ramen, they were sweet and weird.

The tori katsu don we ordered was absolutely delicious and more than enough, we left with our bellies full. We also had the spritz's that they offer and not only were they delicious, but the presentation was really lovely - decorated with some dried flowers and fresh berries. I'd absolutely recommend it and will be going back to try some of their other dishes and drinks :)

It has some outdoor seating but the flair is nicer inside. We had a wonderful waiter who took the time to explain all the different dishes. They even had a summer menu with options that were more fitting for the summer and were freshly made. Such as cold noodles with peanut sauce

Super and delicious seafood. Also lunch menu is very good, and misu soup is included in the menu

An expensive place that offers a cheap experience. Food was simply not it. The photos deceive; the veggies were tasteless and the broth was boring. One side of my soup was cold and the other was hot, which I find sus. Service was fine overall. The waitress was very nice. Wouldn’t come back.
Maayan Z — Google review
A large group of us went there to eat. The young man serving us was friendly helpful and fast. The food was okay. Drinks, kind of generic, their "home made" lemonade was too sweet. I don't think we would go back again tho. Nothing wrong with the place but just didn't feel it. It is in a busy street, with traffic in front. Parking is somewhat problematic. And they take only cash! ATM is 20 meters from them, up the street.

I just love this place! Amazing ebi tempura ramen and ume-lychee soda my favorite, refreshing and nice! Highly reccomend for ramen lovers 🥰
