European restaurant
Café & Restaurant Motto am Fluss is a stylish and iconic venue located in a boat-like building with stunning canal views. The restaurant offers a delectable all-day menu featuring both local and global cuisine. Guests can enjoy a delightful brunch experience, complete with an array of delicious options such as All Day Breakfast Sandwich, soft-boiled eggs with breadsticks, sweet potatoes, avocado, pickled radishes, and homemade Nougatcreme.
We discovered Motto am Fluss while walking around looking for a place to eat, and it turned out to be our best experience in Vienna! From the service to the food to the overall atmosphere, everything was spot on. Even though the place was packed and we didn’t have a reservation, they still managed to give us a second-row seat with a great view. The table was super comfortable and spacious, which made the experience even better. Special thanks to Phelix, both waiter and chef, who was always smiling, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The only downside was the dessert, which didn’t match the quality of the rest of the meal. Still, highly recommended!

Great place, pretty classy. Get the All Day Big Boy Breakfast Sandwich. It was quite pricy at €16 but it was worth it. The best thing about this place is the amazing atmosphere when the sun is out. If you know you are coming on a sunny day, make a reservation to sit outside in the shade. You will experience the definition of atmosphere. Places like these will make us come back to Vienna.
Ruben E — Google review
Great food that tasted exquisitely and was presented immaculately. €165 for 2 people spent. Was a little too warm by the window but it is summer. Nice to have a steak that was cooked exactly as wanted. If we visit Vienna again we will surely eat here again. Recommended to reserve a table ahead of time.
Samsher S — Google review
Probably the best restaurant around! Service was incredible and the food was just divine From the minute we arrived they made us feel welcomed right through to when we finished our wonderful meal. And I must say the smashed burger I have’s was probably the best ever! Located right on the canal this place had the coolest vibe to match! A must go! Thank you to the whole team there!!
Kef K — Google review
This place is recommended on various guides and by various people. We reserved a dinner for 6:30 PM and we arrived at the opening at 6. Was not a problem to get a table next to window as we asked for. The waiter was very good and helped to make some choices between the options we had for food. Also he recommended a good local white wine for our fish. What I appreciated ( and I recommend people traveling from other countries or continents to do - verify where you travel and what is the local food and people culture ) was the focus on client wellbeing . Example: food takes time to be served ( thanks good is cocked and not microwaved ) and the waiter asked us if we are ready for main dish or we want to wait a little and enjoy view and discussion. Regarding the food - is a real gastronomic restaurant , I enjoyed the fish and chips revisited and the gazpacho as starter. If you are not in rush, if you understand the restaurant is an experience and not a need to eat, if you accept the local “cold” people style then go here and enjoy the view of Danube Channel. One mention - they have bar, terrace and restaurant - my dinner was in the restaurant.
George D — Google review
Amazing atmosphere and great view! If you want to spend an evening with good drinks, lively atmosphere, breeze from water, I recommend Motto. It is a bit pricey, so be prepared to give some cash. The location is a former cruise ship, and the vibe is accordingly great! I recommend reserving a place in advance
Tomiris N — Google review
Very cozy restaurant right at the Donau. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the breakfast sandwich which tasted good besides the fact that the avocado has had its best times.
Fabian V — Google review
We wholeheartedly recommend Motto! We stopped by for coffee and had an espresso and a cappuccino. We can only say good things about Motto am Fluss: beautiful ambience, very friendly staff, attentive service, and cleanliness. The brand design is lovely, and the value for money is great as well. Special thanks to Benjamin for the kind hospitality! :)

Ulrich is a stylish venue that offers international dishes, cocktails, and a magical breakfast experience. It is known for its extensive set breakfast menu with options to cater to all tastes and preferences. The cozy and warm atmosphere of the restaurant has received high praise from reviewers. Ulrich also features a sidewalk cafe on the idyllic St-Ulrichs-Platz, offering outdoor dining in a mix of cafe-restaurant and bar setting.
We had breakfast here and absolutely loved it! The café is big and cozy, with a warm and welcoming vibe. It was quite busy since it was the weekend—they mentioned that reservations are usually needed, but we were lucky to grab a small table. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Everything we ordered was delicious 😋. Highly recommend trying the smashed avocado with poached eggs — it’s a must!
Sonam B — Google review
We had breakfast at Ulrich. Overall, the food was okay but didn’t fully meet my expectations. The “Big Tasty” breakfast option was good and cooked perfectly, but unfortunately it was very salty—perhaps just an off day in the kitchen. The shakshuka was over-spiced for my taste. On the positive side, the croissant was very tasty and fresh, and the avocado bread was excellent. I’d consider coming back to try other dishes, but this visit was a bit mixed.
Ahmad A — Google review
Very nice and cozy place with polite staff. I liked all the food, except for the Venetian meat stew, which wasn't particularly tasty. I expected something more like a goulash taste, but it wasn’t quite that level. Everything else was excellent. Also missed some dark beer.
Kris T — Google review
We had breakfast here and overall it was very good. The food was fresh and enjoyable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only small downside was that my cappuccino tasted a bit sour, but aside from that, it’s a nice café and worth visiting.
Zara A — Google review
Very cozy breakfast with many options to choose from. Especially liked the smashed avocado with additional Benny eggs on top. Shakshuka was also a nice option. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Inside and outside seating options are available.
Marius T — Google review
I cannot wait for time, when people could not smoke outside, when sitting in a restaurant. What is the worst than you sit inside to avoid the people sitting outside and smoking next to you, however, it is summer and windows are open, so the smoke comes inside. The food was really tasty. They specialize mainly on breakfast.
Monika K — Google review
Feels good to stay, we had a better breakfasts before. Great service and care, just forgot to give us the toothpick but thats fine.
Elor I — Google review
We had breakfast here and enjoyed the food, hospitality and area. We were there around 10 am and found a table right away but better to have reservations. After 11 am it was full and people had to wait for a table. We got tabula rasa and smashed avocado with poached eggs. Tabula rasa has so many things and I think it can be considered as 1.5 portion size. Avocado plate is delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place for breakfast.

Joseph Brot is a renowned artisanal bakery in Vienna that prides itself on using ancient grains from Austrian farms and focusing on all-organic ingredients and products. The owners are even constructing their own mill outside the city to ensure the quality of their baked goods. With several locations around the city, Joseph Brot offers not only delicious sourdough bread, humble sandwiches, and pastries but also a small selection of organic and natural wines from Austria.
We bought Spelt bread. Its amazing, was hot out of the oven and it’s zero added yeast, pure sourdough🫶🏼 Pity, there was no gluten free to try( We were shopping around 16.30. Yes, pricey, around 8 euros per pieces
Eugenia M — Google review
Stopped by here when we got rained on. Place is clean, although their dining area is closed. So, we have to eat our croissant standing at the side with our latte. 😝 Coffee is good! They have variety of choices of baked goods.
Yvonne W — Google review
Me and my significant other enjoyed Joseph Brot. The atmosphere was nice, not too crowded, you have space and you are able to hear the person next to you without a problem. We ate the Strudel and it was simply the most amazing strudel we have ever tried, definitely recommend. Our coffee was the chocolate one and it was really nice, but not that strong if you are in need for awakening. Great place, worth a visit.
Daniel S — Google review
I LOVE BREAD. I was told that Vienna has the best bakers in Europe. They were not wrong. This was my first baker destination in Vienna and it was an excellent choice. I loved their bread. I loved their coffee. They might not have a seating area but you can enjoy the baking goods in the public area. EXCELLENT . LOVED IT .
M. F — Google review
Perhaps I should have tried different bread the viennoiseries were bit disappointing & very pricey for what it is. Der Man, the bakery next door, is really excellent on the contrary.
Daisy M — Google review
First time I bought the milk it was spoiled... it was a bit disappointing but it happens. Otherwise their milk is very tasty and the bread was delicious too 🙂
Xenia T — Google review
What a great bakery! Small, cozy and delicious options. They have a lot of bio options, breads, pastries and really good coffee. Come here for take away breakfast on your way to the office to your tour. My recommendations would be the bread twist with cheese and bacon & banana walnut muffin 😋😋
Debora Z — Google review
The baked goods were very good, naturally sweet, large. The coffee, however, was disappointing: one was barely warm, the other cold entirely.

The Guesthouse Vienna is an elegant boutique hotel located in the heart of the city, just a short walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral. The stylish design and contemporary rooms with attractive furniture offer a unique atmosphere and modern conveniences. With its central location, it provides easy access to the Karlsplatz underground station and the State Opera.
We had an incredible three night stay at this hotel, our favourite in Austria. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, the whole hotel is full of art, the downstairs restaurant does a killer breakfast and the location is absolutely ideal. Recommend room 602 which has a reading nook overlooking the city.
Joanna B — Google review
Great hote! The room was spacious, stylish, very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We asked to switch to firmer pillows and the staff handled it right away. The minibar was a real highlight – restocked daily with water, soft drinks, wine, and beer, all free of charge – plus a great coffee machine in the room. Toiletries from a boutique Austrian brand were a lovely touch. Location is excellent. Highly recommended!
Omer Z — Google review
Fabulous hotel in central Vienna. Greeted warmly on arrival and phoned when our room was ready. Room itself was lovely, spacious with a little book nook overlooking the park, and the complimentary wine and beer in the fridge was a lovely touch. Only tried the cake in the cafe but it was first class. Rooms very clean and the staff super friendly all round the clock. Only small issue was the room didn't get cleaned until late afternoon so that disrupted us a couple of times, but no big deal, would definitely recommend.
Andrew M — Google review
I had the pleasure of staying at The Guesthouse Vienna in June 2024, and I’m long overdue in sharing how memorable the experience was. This charming 38-room boutique hotel is perfectly nestled in the heart of Vienna, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. The little touches stood out immediately — from the complimentary bottles of red and white wine waiting in the room to the attentive and helpful bellmen who made arrivals and departures seamless. My room was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and offered wonderful views of the city that made waking up each morning a treat. The lobby restaurant is not to be missed — stylish yet relaxed, with incredible food that set the tone for the rest of my time in Vienna. Everything about the property feels thoughtfully curated, striking the right balance between modern comfort and boutique charm. I’d happily return on my next trip to Vienna and recommend The Guesthouse Vienna to anyone looking for a stay that feels both special and welcoming.
Stephen P — Google review
Stopped by for a quick breakfast and was interested to see mostly Viennese not tourists having breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict and they were perfect. My wife had a pumpkin bread scramble, think avocado toast with a fluffy egg scramble on top. She loved it.
Rick P — Google review
Stayed here for 3 nights in the deluxe room (family of 3) although we’ve been countless times to the brasserie because we love the food and the service. This was our first time staying at the hotel, we usually do air bnb as we come to Vienna every summer. Our stay started as a 3, here’s why: - first night we stayed on the first floor and it was very loud later in the evening because you could hear the music from the restaurant and the bass was thumping up through the floor and it was just noisy in general. If you stay here, stay on a higher floor. We mentioned this to the front desk reception and they moved us to a higher floor for night 2 and 3. Great service. - when we arrived, we had our car out front to unload our bags. While we were checking in, the valet came over to us and rudely told us that we cannot leave our car there. At all hotels, the first question should be “may I move your car for you to the lot” as that’s exactly what we intended on doing. So we found it odd as it wasn’t the best first impression Our stay improved - the rooms are really well equipped and very spacious, beautiful, comfortable and stylish. Our daughter loved the little nook with cushions at the window. The rooms are stocked with free water and bottles of wine which you can bring to the restaurant free of charge. This is why it started out as a 3 but improved to a 4. The front desk reception were wonderful, service oriented and pleasant. We had dinner and breakfast at the brasserie and also sat on the patio many times for a drink and snack on our 3 night stay. I will do a separate review for that of the brasserie but definitely try the bio lemonade with thyme and lemon - it’s divine!

i am a local. we had dinner with friends on a friday. not many guest present though. service was amazing. all the waiters did everything to make you feel more than absolutely comfortable. food was delicious, much better than expected. highly recommended! usually i go there for breakfast only, however service and quality of food was still great/excellent, every time I go there. make sure to reserve a table for the morning.

Two of the best breakfasts myself and my travel companion had whilst we were in Vienna, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, there's a lovely atmosphere, it was that nice we decided on the spot to come again for breakfast the following day! Middle Eastern restaurant
NENI am Naschmarkt is a vibrant restaurant located in Vienna's historic Naschmarkt, known for its Turkish and Middle-Eastern produce market. This chic venue offers outdoor dining and is owned by an Israeli-Austrian family. Since its opening in 2009, Neni has become an institution at the market, serving breakfast dishes inspired by the Middle East such as shakshuka and Israeli breakfast.
This place doesn’t look special, like any other cafe in the Naschmarket, but the food was superb. I had the French toast with fresh berry compote. We also had pancakes which were great. One of our party had the granola with yogurt. I highly recommend that his place. Worth a visit.

Good food but nothing more, haven’t felt that special something. Not very large portions, but was enough to feel fed, at least for some time. Good service and nice atmosphere. Recommend to eat there, but bring cash, they don’t accept credit or debit cards 🤭
Magda W — Google review
Some new flavor that we've never ever tried before. All dishes we choose is good to very good. We really like the knafeh dessert, which is very complex, different textures.
Phuc N — Google review
Really delicious and generous portions. The fries are home made and tasty. Spiced chicken was delicious. Pastrami sandwich really good too.
Shirley L — Google review
Neni used to be one of our favorite places cozy atmosphere, delicious breakfasts, and lots of fond memories. We often came here with my family and celebrated birthdays. Our absolute favorite was the pancakes with salted caramel, cream sauce, pecans, sesame seeds, and blueberries we had them regularly for over two years. But this time everything was ruined. The dish arrived without pecans or blueberries, served on cheap-looking tableware. After we pointed it out, the waiter brought the missing ingredients in a single sauce dish — clearly not enough for two portions. It felt like we were being tricked, and if we hadn’t known what the dish was supposed to look like, we might not have noticed at all. My daughter was especially disappointed, this place had sentimental value for her. It’s really sad to see the quality and attention to detail decline so much. Unfortunately, we no longer feel like coming back.
Oksana P — Google review
We enjoyed a tasty dinner at NENI. Our server named Give was amazing. Food arrived fast after ordering, portions were quite large. There were several vegetarian options on the menu. I recommend making a table reservation in advance. I would appreciate if they accepted card payment and not just cash. The chairs were quite uncomfortable, I recommend buying some pillows or smaller cushions and place them on the chairs for a more pleasant experience. We will be back next time we visit Vienna!
Marion K — Google review
This is one of the authentic middle Eastern cuisine spot. We tried falafel, aubergine steak, Kunafa with yoghurt ice cream is worth trying. It balance the flavours. Highly recommended. Its cash only and ATM is located at 50m from the entry.
Narashima P — Google review
This was a nice Mediterranean restaurant. The service was great. Lots of staff members around and all seem to be helpful . The food quality was on point. The apps all great with the humus stealing the show for us. The main dishes did not disappoint and came out pretty fast. Try the Kunafeh but I would ask for it without the topping as it the flavors did not mix well with lemon yogurt or whatever that was. Majority of the seating is outside and they do have some shade areas but in the heat it did not help much and there is no air conditioning inside the restaurant. Overall food was great and recommend this place if you are visiting.

Vollpension is a charming cafe in Vienna's 4th district, where senior citizens from the local community showcase their baking skills to the public. The cafe aims to bridge the generation gap by bringing together the young and elderly, creating a unique and heartwarming atmosphere. The decor resembles a grandmother's living room, complete with brick-lined walls and old-timey furnishings.
What a cute and lovely experience to step into this cafe. Very warm and welcoming staff. Really nice coffee. Nice, simple and healthy cooking of dishes. Really cute idea to get a token to order a slice of cake directly at the counter.
Nick T — Google review
This is a really nice, cozy cafe with a great atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Let's talk about the cakes: they were truly amazing. I highly recommend trying them. They're definitely the highlight! The service system is a little unique: you have to buy tokens from the waiter, which you then exchange for the cake of your choice at the counter. It worked fine, but be prepared for that step. The coffee was okay-ish (nothing special, but totally drinkable). Just be warned, this place gets crowded. If you don't have a reservation, expect to wait a little for a table, but honestly, the cakes make the wait worth it!
The D — Google review
As I understand it, this café has a social mission - that’s probably the only thing that can justify such high prices for everything. The coffee is good, and the cake is tasty too. The breakfast with a sandwich is quite ordinary, nothing special. The atmosphere itself is unusual; you can spend a long time looking around - there are lots of little details. It’s worth booking a table in advance, even on a weekday.
Maria G — Google review
Lovely cafe, just so homely and delicious food, shakshuka was good as well home made rolls. Cute bathrooms. Expect a wait as it gets busy! But it’s worth it!
Dipali P — Google review
This is a lovely and charming restaurant–coffeehouse. The staff are exceptionally attentive and genuinely friendly — something you don’t often find in Vienna. It’s the perfect spot for tourists exploring the city. Walking into the restaurant feels like being hugged by your grandmother — cozy, comforting, and full of warmth. The desserts were freshly made, warm, and absolutely delicious. My only complaint was that it was very pricey. I ordered two mélange and two apple strudels which total €27.
Hanging * — Google review
Very good dessert and ambience! The grandpas and grandmas are so lively and dessert was amazing. We got the Buchtel and caprese cake. Both were so good. Not overly sweet. Def recommend! And they have cute postcards as a souvenir from here.
Rin S — Google review
We were in Vienna for a few days for my Mum's 60th birthday, and decided to drop into the Vollpension having seen it on TV in the UK. It most definitely lived up to expectations - we ate the buchtel and it was delicious, and the atmosphere of the place is so quaint and cosy, you really do feel like you're in Granny's living room! The highlight was the staff - so welcoming and so chatty, and when they found out it was Mum's birthday, it wasn't long before a free cake with a candle was coming out and they were singing happy birthday to her! Such a treat, and a definite highlight of our trip. A hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone visiting Vienna!

We were seated inside amid the bustle and bric-a-brac. We ordered the big breakfast - a perfectly cooked boiled egg, five delicious breads, pickles, cheeses, meats, orange juice, sparkling wine, cake, butter and jam. Plus coffee. It's a fun place. Attentive an friendly staff. Worth a detour.

JOMA is a stylish all-day venue located at Hohen Markt, offering a contemporary setting and an international menu. As part of the Figlmuller Gastro-Empire, it serves as a cafe, brasserie, and bar. The central location makes it a popular meeting spot. The menu features vegan options such as bowls, salads, oriental dishes, burgers, and breakfast items like porridge.
I have been to this place for a couple of times now. And everytime l went there, l am always satisfied. 5 out of 5. It is more pricey than others but it is worth it.
Jacqueline A — Google review
We’ve been here a few times and tried various dishes—from granola to avocado desserts. The taste is decent but nothing extraordinary. Service is average, and prices match the city center. It’s a good option for a quick bite or a casual meeting in a place with plenty of seating, but nothing more. However, we did get stale bread a couple of times, and the fresh mint in the tea wasn’t so fresh.
Anna T — Google review
We managed to find seats without a reservation. The staff was friendly, but I was not impressed with the cuisine and specifically the burger. The meat was tasty, but the lack of vegetables (tomato and pickles) and sauce (which was separate) gave it a dry taste. For a restaurant with such a high rating, I expected a larger assortment of beer.
Dimitar U — Google review
The location is beautiful with an outside terrace lined with fragrant flowers and beautiful greenery adding some privacy from the street. It has a view of an awe inspiring statue and several baroque buildings. The food is visually appealing as well as delicious. We got the avocado Benedict, florentine Benedict, and Brioche French toast. The hollandaise was warm and creamy and the English muffins were perfectly crispy. There was a lime crème on the French toast that was absolutely divine. The service to order and get our food was quick and the staff are very friendly and helpful but when we asked for the check we were forgotten for about 15 mins but that was fine because the view and atmosphere were so relaxing.

Great place in the heart of the city. We tried the avo benedict, breakfast burger and the shakshuka. Everything was delicious. We also had espresso macchiato and melange. The coffee was really good, however the matcha was sweetened, which was not mentioned in the menu and it tasted like a dessert- not a fan.

Cafe
Restaurant
Café Central, located in the Palais Ferstel complex, is a renowned Viennese venue with a rich historical legacy. Frequented by influential figures such as Freud and Trotsky, this café was a hub for literary and political discussions. Since its establishment in 1876, it has retained its late Romantic Historicism style despite post-WW2 renovations.
We had breakfast at Café Central, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The historic ambiance and elegant architecture make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time — it’s truly one of Vienna’s most beautiful cafés. The breakfast was outstanding — fresh pastries, perfectly brewed coffee, and a variety of delicious options beautifully presented. The service was attentive and friendly, despite how busy the café gets. It’s easy to see why Café Central is such a Viennese institution — a perfect mix of charm, history, and great food. Definitely worth the wait and a must-do when in Vienna!
Asif A — Google review
Café Central is one of Vienna’s most iconic coffee houses, located inside the grand Palais Ferstel on Herrengasse. Stepping inside feels like entering another era—ornate columns, vaulted ceilings, and marble interiors capture the charm of 19th-century Vienna. This café wasn’t just about coffee; it was once the meeting place for some of Europe’s greatest minds. Regulars included Sigmund Freud, Leon Trotsky, Stefan Zweig, and even Adolf Loos. You can almost feel that intellectual energy still lingering in the air. It is open from Monday–Saturday from 08:00 – 21:00 and Sunday/public holidays from 10:00 – 21:00. The nearest metro station is the U-Bahn “Herrengasse” (U3) and it’s a short walk from major sights in the first district. Reservations are accepted online for up to 6 people (via their website). Larger groups need to call in. Walk-ins are possible but during busy times expect a wait. Service is professional but can be slow, especially during peak hours. Some standout dishes: the famous Apfelstrudel, Kaiser-Schmarrn, Backhendl mit Erdäpfel-Gurkensalat and classic Viennese coffee like a Wiener Melange. Prices are a bit steep compared to local cafés. Still, the experience is absolutely worth it for the atmosphere and history.
TheMindisCurious — Google review
Beautiful, beautiful cafe! But do yourself a favor and set a reservation. The line out the door, waiting for tables, was wild—with a reservation, we walked right on by! We had the einspänner, melange, apple strudel, and the warm chocolate cake. The cake was a must get! My apple strudel came out a bit cold. Wasn’t my favorite. I did see someone get the kaiserschmarrn and if I could do it over, I would 1000% get that!! Our server was lovely and attentive. It was a bit expensive, definitely cheaper cafe’s all over Vienna. But… this is obviously for tourists. So you should know what you are walking into!
Olivia H — Google review
Beautiful interior, very cozy place to sit down and relax over a nice cup of coffee and dessert. The Espresso served with whipped cream was excellent and very smooth. The apple strudel was one of the best I've eaten thus far. A thin crispy layer of pastry with plenty of apples, a bit of sourness combined with the sweetness of the cream, just melts in your mouth. The service was also excellent - staff very friendly and cheerful. I arrived at roughly 10AM, and only waited for roughly five minutes before being seated, but the queue might be longer closer to noon. Definitely worth the wait if not in a rush.
Eric H — Google review
I visited because it's said to be one of Vienna's top three Sachertorte. There was a long line in front of the store, but I got it to go and went right away. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and kindness, which made me feel very welcome. I had it with coffee, and while it was a bit too sweet for my taste, it was perfect for a day like today when I'm tired and need a sugar boost.
MinKyung L — Google review
I went for breakfast, and there was already a long queue outside — definitely book ahead if you don’t want to wait in the cold. The desserts are the highlight for sure: beautifully presented and genuinely delicious. The rest of the food was decent, but quite simple for the price, and you’re mostly paying for the experience rather than an exceptional meal. That said, the architecture is stunning. The high ceilings, arches, and overall interior make you feel like you’re sitting inside a historical postcard. Worth visiting at least once for the atmosphere and pastries, just go in knowing it’s more about the setting than the food.
Bianca L — Google review
Iconic venue in Central Vienna. Beautiful building inside and out. A short wait to get in (about 10 mins), but worth it. We ordered coffee, the amazing strudel with vanilla sauce and a slice of cream Schnitten. The waiter was really funny, professional and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic, and has the 1800s feel to it. All the staff wear period clothing. Lovely experience. We visited around 11am on Thursday. The place looks amazing at night too.
Alex P — Google review
Overall experience was nice. The building and interior is very beautiful for sure and has its historic charm. Apple strudel we had was very beautiful and tasty. However we didn’t have a reservation and ended up in a line for more than 30min (beginning of November, weekday afternoon). After having seats, the atmosphere was a bit fussy and rushed due to the high demand and I wanted to quickly eat and leave. I was very curious about their apple strudel because I have heard they had the best one in Vienna. And it was good, but it’s overestimated as most cafes in the city have equally good strudels. Overall, I’m not sure if it’s worth standing in the long line and sitting in a busy atmosphere.

Great restaurant. We visited twice during our stay in Vienna. Both times the food was good, service attentive and friendly. It was always busy but they always found the table even if you didn't have a reservation. Hygiene is on the very high level too. All in all a very good experience, and definitely worth visiting while in Vienna.

Good location for large groups! They have a big menu- there’s bound to be something for everyone. It is quite pricey, but the food is decent. While I would recommend it for big groups, it definitely isn’t a restaurant I would visit on a regular basis or in a small group.

Went there for lunch with my wife, service was kinda slow but we didn't really matter but she received her plate ahead of me... In fact she had plenty of time to finish her meal before I received mine. And of course no waitress to be found during all the time I waited. Food was good but we went for a lunch "together".

The staff was consistently friendly and attentive. A special mention goes to the restaurant manager – always helpful and welcoming, with a warm smile for the guests. The pizza was okay, but it could have used a bit more refinement in terms of flavor. Overall, still a pleasant visit. Thank you!

Travelling in Europe, we enjoyed what I consider our best meal so far, at freiraum. We chose it initially without reading any reviews, based on its excellent atmosphere when we stepped inside. There were five of us, without a reservation, and it was very busy, so we were unsure if we would be seated. However, one of the restaurant employees, who had finished work and was on his way out, took us in hand and made sure we were seated. We were then greeted by our server, Nada, who was welcoming, friendly and patient, as we decided on drinks and asked her about the menu. Throughout, she was attentive and warm. The service she provided was an important part of our excellent freiraum experience. And finally, the food was simply outstanding. I chose the filet steak, which came with roasted vegetables. Loved every bite. Highly recommended this restaurant!

this place is a good one to have a nice get together with friends. the pizza there is very good and the service was also very very nice. It took a while to get the cocktails served, but the waitress managed the delays well and great politeness. Sometimes i wished that the music volume wouldn't be that loud, so that you can speak to each other normally. however it is a good place to hang out!

Cafe
Café Ansari is a stylish and contemporary bistro in Vienna that offers a fusion of Georgian and Mediterranean cuisine. Run by a Georgian couple with Lebanese roots, the restaurant features a modern dining room with an airy and light-filled interior, as well as a shady terrace for outdoor dining. The menu includes specialties like kinkhali, kwerebi, Georgian wines, and specialty teas and coffees.
This was only my second real introduction to Georgian cuisine, and this place absolutely knocked it out of the park. I can't claim to know how authentic it is, but I can tell you what my taste buds thought: they loved it. The Chakapuli soup was a standout—warm, layered, and full of depth without being heavy. The asparagus flavor played beautifully against the richness of the lamb. Even the polenta is satisfying its own: silky and mildly savory. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere felt upscale, but they cater for locals. Very welcoming. This place immediately earned a spot on my favorites list. And yes, it’s pricey, but well, I enjoyed my evening with them.

Visited Café Ansari for brunch and had the Oriental breakfast, while my companion chose the Georgian. Both dishes were fresh, flavourful and well-balanced. Sitting outside in the mild spring sunshine added to the pleasant, slightly Parisian atmosphere. A lovely place for a relaxed brunch in Vienna.

A wonderful place to unwind and savor great flavors in a stunning atmosphere. A must when visiting Vienna.

The restaurant offers an Georgian dishes, adapted for a European audience. We ordered the Georgian & Oriental breakfast, khinkali, homemade lemonade, and iced latte. Everything was truly tasty! The hummus in the Oriental breakfast was especially delicious, smooth and flavorful. The khinkali were juicy and well-prepared. Prices are above average, but the portion sizes are not particularly large, so the value for money could be improved. Unfortunately, the service was lacking the staff seemed disorganized, and we had to wait quite a while before anyone came to take our order. That did impact the overall experience

We had reserved a table via emailing which is best but they were accepting walk ins which is nice to see. The seating was good and restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and polite, service was quick. Mushroom Gnocchi was exceptional but the braised beef wasn’t our favourite however it was cooked perfectly so no complaints. It’s a deep rich meaty flavour. The chips with the pumpkin seed oil mayo were some of the best chips I’ve had at a restaurant before. Drinks were also really good, especially the Sage and honey tea.

This spot smelled like culinary heaven the second I walked in. And the food? Somehow tasted even better than it smelled—like, how?! Drinks were on point. 💯 The whole vibe was super relaxed and cozy, the kind of place you could lose track of time in. Service was sweet and friendly too. 🫶 Only reason it’s not a full 5? They’re cash-only—so bring bills or be ready to hunt for an ATM. 😅 Still totally worth it. Would 100% go back.

Drechsler Wienzeile is a classic Viennese cafe located near Naschmarkt, serving traditional Viennese food all day. Established in 1918, this iconic coffee house has recently undergone a hipster makeover while retaining its rustic charm. The interior features marble tabletops, newspaper tables, and a vibrant poster collage adorning the walls. It's a popular spot for breakfast among chic locals and tourists alike.
Awesome brunch experience. We booked a table on bank holiday and the place was as crowded as one can expect. However, we were quickly lead to our table and promptly offered the menu. There is an extensive range of options, many of the usual brunch offerings and some more original. We tried their dirty chai, one home made lemonade and one latte (the use locally sourced coffee from Alt Wien) for drinks. As for food we tried their pulled pork toast, avocado with salmon and the ramasauri sandwich. Everything came within minutes and looked imponent. The portions were vast as well. Taste wise, not deception at all: the flavours keep up with the look. The only downside was the excessive saltiness of the pulled pork, which was otherwise pretty good. For me, the highlight were the scrambled eggs in the ramasauri, which tasted distinct and addicting. We ended up with a 20€ per person ratio, which seemed right considering the quantity and quality of the food. Friendly reminder to bring cash since cards were not accepted.

Lovely cafe with good options if you happen to be vegetarian/vegan. Loved the pancakes. Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Edit 08/2025: went here again after a year and the beloved vegan banana pancakes were still there! Allergies were also handled carefully upon request. We loved it so much that we ate here twice during our stay in Vienna. Only thing that happened is that at our first visit it wasn't possible to pay by card. This happened a year before too, so I guess it's still a re-occurring problem.

I don’t think this place needs a review - it does amazing on its own! My trip was short, but I’ve been here 2 times for brunch. The food is very delicious, although wish they serve a bit more coffee in the cup: americano was half filled 🥲 the stuff is friendly, pays enough attention and don’t unnecessarily disturb. Will definitely comeback🙌

Make sure to book this place if you come on Saturday or Sunday morning. They are all fully booked. Honestly, Vienna is just not a breakfast city. All best breakfast cafes are a bit basic. I would prefer hotel breakfast (if you stay in nice 4 or 5 star cafe). Here coffees are very small. Bread did not taste fresh, when I believe fresh baked warm bread should be every breakfast staple!! And breakfast plates pretty plane and boring. Nothing special at all. And on the door when entering they had sigh that they accept only cash. Make sure to have cash with you in Vienna in general - they prefer it!

The menu features contemporary dishes such as pancakes with maple syrup, berries, and Greek yogurt as a weekend special.

Found this little gem right next to Schönbrunn Palace and couldn’t be happier! The place was packed (always a good sign) but we lucked out with bar seats by the window - perfect for people-watching while we ate. The food looked so good I nearly took photos before digging in! That chicken sandwich? Just what I needed - hit the spot completely and kept me going all day with a proper smile on my face. Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel is a grand 19th-century venue located in the heart of Vienna, originally built for the 1873 World Exhibition. The hotel's opulent rooms, acclaimed restaurant, and spa with a pool offer a luxurious experience. Situated near Vienna's old town and surrounded by state buildings and palaces, it provides easy access to the city's major landmarks and historical sights.
An Exceptional Stay at The Anantara Vienna From the moment we arrived at The Anantara Vienna, we were treated with such warmth and professionalism that it truly set the tone for a memorable stay. Every member of the staff we encountered—from reception to concierge to housekeeping—was not only courteous but genuinely attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and well cared for. A special mention must go to the team at breakfast. We’d especially like to express our heartfelt thanks to Karim, Lindsey, Jen, Angelika, and Dom—each of them brought something unique and memorable to our experience. The service each morning was nothing short of outstanding. The staff were incredibly attentive without being intrusive, remembering our preferences and always greeting us with a smile. The selection and quality of food was excellent, but it was the gracious and seamless service that truly made each morning feel like a luxury experience. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed, blending elegance with comfort in a way that makes it easy to relax. It is in a great location but what truly sets The Anantara Vienna apart is the people. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special—we look forward to returning and highly recommend.

Outstanding service and comfort. Truly a 5 star experience. We arrived late due to train delays, arriving much past the midnight. Anantara front desk kindly stayed in touch all through the journey and were very welcoming even though we arrived so late into the night. Room was smaller than the pictures on their website. Very comfortable bedding and stay overall. Location is decent; It’s a bit of a walk to the city center.

The Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel delivers a truly luxurious experience from the moment you arrive. The lobby and bar area are absolutely beautiful — elegant yet inviting — and the overall ambiance reflects classic Viennese sophistication with a modern touch. The breakfast was excellent, offering a generous and varied selection of both local and international dishes. (A small suggestion: adding potato vodka to the bar menu would be a welcome touch for guests who appreciate regional gluten-free spirits.) Our suite was spacious, beautifully appointed, and full of light, with soaring ceilings that added to the grandeur. Every detail felt carefully considered — from the plush towels and luxury bath products to the Dyson hairdryer and styling tools, which were a thoughtful surprise and very convenient. Throughout our stay, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, contributing to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our visit so enjoyable. This is an outstanding hotel in every respect — combining classic elegance, modern comfort, and attentive service in one of Vienna’s most distinguished settings.

Wonderful stay at the newly renovated Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna. The hotel feels fresh and modern, while still keeping the charm of the historic building. We stayed in a Deluxe room with a courtyard view, which was very quiet—so peaceful that we could sleep with the window open, something that’s rare in a city hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was super cozy and big. The breakfast was excellent, with both a buffet and à la carte options. There was a great selection of fresh food, and everything we tried was delicious. The staff were friendly and professional, always making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a relaxing and luxurious stay in the heart of Vienna. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others looking for a quiet, high-quality place to stay.

Sneak In is a trendy breakfast spot located in Vienna's fashionable District 7. The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat brunch with a wide variety of options including fresh fruits, cereals, salads, egg dishes, meat variations, and vegan delicacies. Guests can choose from classic, vegetarian or vegan brunch bases and select their favorite items from the menu to be served in glasses at their table.
I’ve tried brunch am tisch and that was a great way to have a unlimited breakfast bcs you should not run from one buffet to another, instead you sit at your table and order whatever you’d like to eat between around 30 options and they bring them with small portions. Best part is you can keep ordering as you wish. Service was quite fast and everything were tasty. I’ll definitely visit again.

Tried Sneak In for brunch on a Sunday with friends, and I’ll say this: it’s a pretty solid option if you’re looking for a laid-back, unlimited breakfast without the chaos of a typical buffet. Instead of scrambling from station to station, you sit at your table, pick your base, and then order a variety of small portions from a wide range of options. It’s a nice touch, allowing you to try a little bit of everything. They’ve got great vegetarian and vegan choices, which is a win! That said, there were a few downsides. The bread—kind of a deal-breaker in a brunch setting—was dry and tasted like it had been sitting around a bit too long. Not great when you're hoping for that perfect bite of freshly baked goodness. The service was okay, but a little slow at times, and there were moments where they forgot items we ordered. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it definitely kept the experience from being seamless. Would I return? Probably not, unless I’m hosting vegan or vegetarian friends who want a decent brunch spot in Vienna. It’s a nice enough place for that, but it didn’t really wow me. The one standout for me was the spicy lentils—those were the highlight of the meal. Everything else, though? Okay. Verdict: Solid for a casual brunch with lots of plant-based options, but there are better spots in Vienna if you’re looking for something more memorable.

This is an awesome cafe to hang out alone. Staffs are very nice and friendly. I ordered bagel with fig and mango lassi. It was very tasty, especially bagel. If you are in Wien, I would like to recommend to visit here :)

Such. Lovely place we tried this brunch option on table and we loved it ! Great price & good food and good service so we will come back definitely

The food was really good and very reasonably priced, however service was not the best. Asked for the bill and the server never returned. Also felt when I arrived I was forgotten about as the server realised I hadn’t gotten the base ordered yet. When I could get ahold of someone they were polite.

Very tasty brunch, kind staff, very nice place in city centre near main "shopping" street, Mariahilferstrasse. This local was used to be a concept store, so interior has this special vibe. We were sitting outside since it was nice weather. ♡

Really cozy and comfortable. Staff was incredibly nice and attentative, replenishing our napkins when we ran low (had a baby on board so it was much appreciated). Food was great. The porridge wasnt too sweet, could’ve maybe been a bit warmer but the french toast knocked it out of the park. Also wish the smoothie size was a bit bigger for the price, but overall a very enjoyable experience and I will return

I was there at the saturday brunch 10:00-12:00 o clock. Location and stuff is very nice. Food looks delicious and is served in small portions and glasses. You can choose everything from a small menu, also one hot drink and it is brought to your table. Unfortunately the food looks better than it tastes. Everything was ok, but nothing tasted as good as it looked. There is potential for improvement regarding the taste.

Nestled within the charming confines of the Volkskundemuseum in Vienna's elegant 8th district, Hildebrandt Café is a delightful haven for food lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. This upscale café boasts an inviting atmosphere where you can easily spend hours indulging in a delectable breakfast or light meal. The menu features an array of high-quality organic ingredients, offering everything from mouthwatering waffles and avocado toast to hearty ham and eggs, with plenty of vegan options available.
I had the eggs Benny and the sticky mango porridge. Portions were good but I love food so that’s why I wanted to eat these two. The sauce Hollandaise was very light and delightful in the mouth with the melting of the poached egg in it. My favorite was however the potato brioche that was underneath it was so good. It had a bit of crunch to it but at the same time it was soft and it had a bit of sweetness to it which I didn’t mind. The sticky mango porridge was sweet but the right amount of sweet. It was such a delightful dish. And very fulfilling. I highly recommend this place defo one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Vienna.

Hildebrandt Café is a pleasant spot for brunch with a nice ambiance. The food was good, though nothing particularly special stood out. It’s a cozy place to enjoy a meal, but I would have liked a wider range of desserts to choose from. One downside was the number of bees that kept coming around our food and us, which made the experience a bit less enjoyable.

Perfect place for breakfast. It was perfect day, breakfast outside, the service was excellent. As shakshuka guy, it was not like in Tel Aviv, but quite good. Other meals with high quality indigriends. 10:10 on Saturday it was already full so be an early bird!

Fresh ingredients, lovely atmosphere and delicious food - you’ll get everything here. We started our day with a chai latte, ordered the green machine, a bread loaded with nutritions, and the red sensation, a mix of tomatoes in all kind of ways, and it was delightful. :) The service is great and pays attention to the customers. Best choice you can make for a beautiful experience

Great option for breakfast and cakes! Their beautiful garden is perfect for a warm day or their winter garden for a fall rainy afternoon. I highly recommend their gluten free carrot cake! Make sure to make a reservation prior because it gets quite crowded, specially for brunch during the weekends. They also have lunch specials every week. Love this place!

This is such a hidden sparkle in Vienna! If you walk past the street you would have never thought to even enter, nevermind find the garden oasis that this place is! They have the most amazing sourdough bread - delicious! They have different milk alternatives and good coffee. But the winner for me was the chocolate hummus. You would think that it's an odd combination but it was honestly so smooth and creamy! The garden atmosphere was so soothing and perfect for a morning or afternoon meet up. They have a lot of vegan options on the menu! They did have a table available when I was there but only for an hour so I would recommend yo reserve beforehand. Don't just walk by, pop in and treat yourself!
Mariette S — Google review
Our recent visit confirmed what we were told - this is indeed one of the best brunch places in Vienna. Wonderful breakfast variations with bread, bagels, buns, even waffles. I was surprised by the variety of sweet options as well. And the fruit waffle tower that we had - omg, big yes to that one. Service was absolutely amazing, as well as the whole atmosphere of the place. Prices may be a tiny bit higher compared to the rest of Vienna' brunch spots that we've viaited ao far, but I would say it's worth it - especially during summer when you sit in their garden and just enjoy being taken care of!

If you're visiting Vienna or you're a local, you must discover Hildebrandt Café. It's a location you will definitely return to multiple times, for the food and the atmosphere. Delicious food all around. Personally, I found my new favourite brunch special "Pomodoro Mania" with buffalo mozzarella, which sometimes I try to recreate at home. Make sure to reserve in advance, as it's becoming more popular by the minute. P.S. During warm days, make a reservation at the garden area and you will not regret it.

The Bank Brasserie & Bar, also known as The BBB, is a luxurious brasserie located in the Park Hyatt Hotel in Vienna. Housed in a historic building that was once a bank, this swanky spot offers classic European dishes and an Austrian breakfast buffet. With serious intentions to become a hotspot for cocktail enthusiasts, The BBB boasts an opulent ambiance that demands dressing up for the occasion.
Had a wonderful meal preceded by cocktails here. The room has the wow factor! The service was great- very helpful choosing wines by the glass. The food was all excellent. This is a top end place that managed to justify the prices. Highly recommended for a celebration, occasion or simply searching for the finer things to enjoy in life!
Sabaudia C — Google review
I recently dined at this restaurant in the Park Hyatt hotel and while the ambiance was elegant and the service exceptional, the food didn’t quite meet expectations. The atmosphere was refined and relaxing — ideal for a special evening. Our waiter was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. One of the highlights of the evening was the wine he recommended, which paired beautifully with the meal and elevated the overall experience. However, the food itself was a bit underwhelming. I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare, but unfortunately, it was overcooked and lacked the tenderness I was expecting. The Wiener schnitzel was also a bit dry, and the oysters were fairly standard — nothing memorable. For the price point and the reputation, I expected more from the kitchen. That said, the wonderful service and lovely setting still made the evening enjoyable. With some improvements in food execution, this could easily be a top-tier dining destination.

Elegant restaurant in Vienna We ate here with my wife, and really enjoyed it. It was not particularly expensive, neither particularly cheap. We thought it was fair value, as the quality was there. The location and setting also make it quite spectacular. That we both really enjoyed. I would definitely come back to this restaurant. Special mention to the staff they were also really nice.
Paul V — Google review
This place serves the best breakfast I’ve ever had, no exaggeration. The quality of the food is outstanding, and the setting and service are pure Vienna. The dining room is the former lobby of a nineteenth century Vienna bank, modernized to perfection. We had a number of items including Eggs Benedict (including seconds) and avocado toast. The fruits and berries, especially the small strawberries, are like nothing we get in the United States. Why is the EU food chain so much better? This breakfast is reason enough to hope we can return to Vienna in the future!
William W — Google review
I was quite intrigued before coming here. The restaurant operates in what used to be a bank building. You might expect an overwhelming interior with all the marble and grandeur—especially if you’ve seen older bank interiors—but that’s not the case here. It’s tastefully done. We decided to give it a try, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Quick tip before I dive in: if you're coming for the food, definitely book a table - it gets busy at times. If you're just after drinks, you should be fine without a reservation. A few words about the setup and the entrance. As you walk in, a staff member greets you and checks your reservation - standard stuff. But the first impression? Very positive. Shouldn’t that always be the case? 😊 Well, life has its surprises, but not here! The restaurant is spacious, and the interior has been beautifully adapted from its banking days. It leans toward a gently fancy style - elegant but not over the top. One detail I really liked: the chefs work in the open, right in the middle of the space, with two visible stalls. If you’re seated in the right direction, you can watch them in action, which adds a nice touch of charm and liveliness. Food is served at tables toward the center, while drinks are handled closer to the bar. The spacing between tables is generous, so you can enjoy a proper conversation without feeling cramped. Now, the food and drinks. We started with cocktails - one of them a non-alcoholic mojito. Both were spot on. While sipping and soaking in the atmosphere, we admired the thoughtful design transformation. The waiter who served us was excellent - attentive but not intrusive, helpful without hovering. For starters, we had French onion soup and beef tartare. The soup portion was generous - I'd almost call it a main! And it was full of flavor. As for the tartare, we’ve had it in other places, but this one? A king among tartares. You couldn’t taste the rawness of the meat - it was incredibly smooth and refined. For the main, I went with an Austrian classic: schnitzel. It was executed to perfection - thin, crispy, and not a trace of excess oil. It came with baked baby potatoes and cucumbers salad, a perfect pairing. I couldn’t finish it all, though - the soup had already claimed some stomach real estate. Even if you try to stretch it, the stomach has its limits 😉. This place is definitely staying on my list for when I return to Vienna!

Café Korb is a unique café-restaurant in Vienna with original 60s decor and a rich history. Established in 1904, it was once a gathering place for underground artists and intellectuals, including the likes of Sigmund Freud and Andy Warhol. The interior reflects its mid-century makeover with linoleum floors and plastic-topped tables. The café's basement houses a bowling alley and art displays, adding to its quirky charm.
100 year old cafe restaurant full of artists and old decor, a real feel of old Vienna. The food looked traditional and the waiters friendly and helpful. Well worth a stop for a coffee and cake, the hot apple strudel was delicious.

The waiter was incredibly kind, the dishes were beautifully presented, and the coffee—honestly—might be the best in Vienna. Given how popular this place is, it’s no surprise the beans are as fresh as they come. A delicious meal and a truly delightful experience overall!

Delicious food and drink. Everything we had here was very tasty and fresh. Had lunch one day (minced veal schnitzel) as well as some cakes and lemonade and all were delicious. A couple of people from the service seemed to be a bit disconnected, not much interested and hard to get their attention, very strange for waiters. But other than that service generally friendly, place very clean and has an amazing atmosphere and like I said food very tasty. Definitely recommend!
Ewelina K — Google review
Very well prepared food with fresh ingredients. Went twice in 2 days. 3 eggs and bacon in a hot skillet kept everything hot. Eggs in a croissant equally good. Next time it was piquant breakfast, bums ham and gouda. Their breads and buns and incredibly fresh. O was able to get in without reservations but it was very busy so I recommend booking in advance.
Peter K — Google review
This is a bakery combined with a cafe. The eggs Benedict were not as good. The egg white was not properly cooked. The hollandaise sauce had a very weird texture - they probably added flour or starch or something like that which resulted in not a silky but rather liquid dough-like texture. The overall taste was fine but not super delicious. The hot chocolate was good although too sweet for me. The staff were not very welcoming although did their job. Overall I would not come here again for a meal, maybe I could give the bakery a chance
Alexey S — Google review
We ordered egg benedict, porridge, and hot chocolate here. They are all really good. The egg benedict is flavourful with thick sauce. Porridge is my favourite, very easy to eat coming with variety of fruits. Hot chocolate is also really good. Overall quite good with the price.
Titipat A — Google review
A fantastic upgrade from the classic Ströck experience. I tried the focaccia, and it was excellent — and as a chef with experience in baking breads and focaccia, I can say it was really well done: fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The coffee was also very good, smooth and well-prepared, which makes this place just as strong for a quick coffee break as it is for a full meal. The decoration is amazing, creating a warm and stylish atmosphere, and the food is on another level — creative, fresh, and much more elevated than the usual bakery offerings. A great spot for both casual meals and relaxed evenings. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see Ströck in a whole new way.

Lukewarm coffe and old muffins.. Our experience was very underwhelming. We were served lukewarm coffees, like they were forgotten on the counter. After complaining, they switched one drink for an iced one. Like what? After complaining to a different waiter, we finally waited for hot drinks. Then my Eggs Hemingway came. Perfect poached egg, but served on an old hard muffin, that I even struggled to cut through with the knife. Letting the waiter know about it, he just said to tell the kitchen. He had no problem to charge full 16.5€ for a clearly failed dish. A high price in the first place. And no intent for any compensation. There's potential here, but the experience today was really bad. I would not come back.
Julian K — Google review
I don’t give 5 stars. This cafe is incredible. We tried two of their egg dishes and two sweet dishes. We also ordered a few Mélanges which were out of this world. The huevos rancheros are not like the typical American dishes but delicious. The pancakes were fluffy, smeared in Nutella instead of a traditional accompaniment of butter and maple syrup. I prefer my Palatschinken with Nutella or chocolate sauce so this was a disappointment. Portion sizes are just perfect. Service was not super fast but we didn’t mind. The waitperson was very kind and attentive. I would recommend this place.
Shabnam R — Google review
The staff was very nice and friendly. Although we didn’t have the reservation and it was overcrowded they found a spot for us (The reservation is needed!) The coffee was really very very good. I ordered avocado sandwiches and they needed more salt, the bread was a bit dry. The cakes are delicious.

Wanted to check out Café Telegraph for quite a while with all the great stuff I kept hearing. Only went for coffee. The decor was okayish, could've been more theme driven with the name. I enjoyed my Salted Caramel Latte. The Dark hot chocolate that my partner had was pretty okayish. The food menu looked interesting but that plus the pastry menu barely had vegan options to offer, really limiting our choices.
Parampara H — Google review
Edit 2: Still nice atmosphere but unfortunately had a table near the entrance on a cold day so there was always a breeze since the door doesn't automatically close and we had to get up and close it each time someone came in. Eggs Benedict was delicious, mushroom bowl was also good. Tried the green Shakshouka this time which was okay but way too much of the base spinach sauce. Maybe meant to be like that but I much prefer the regular Shakshouka. Kurbis latte was amazing. Rather nice atmosphere but acoustics make regular chatter very loud. The Shakshuka was pretty bland with overcooked eggs. After mistakenly being given eggs Benedict and waiting for our eggs florentine they were cooked nicely but personally had way too much garlic in the spinach which took over all the flavours. Both the iced coffee and vanilla elephant chai were delicious. The cakes are very redeeming at least, I loved the cheesecake. The staff were great.

Great. Located next to one of Vienna’s top rated food markets, they make great food and cakes — all in a lovely setting, outdoor seating included. We’ve had the pumpkin soup and the strudel (with a piece of meat added), all at top notch quality and full of taste of fresh ingredients. The coffee they make is excellent, and so are the cakes on display .. we didn’t try any, but they looked great. Service is great, people are nice and friendly — only thing to be aware of is that Vienna has become ridiculously expensive, and this also applies here.

The hotel offers a decent breakfast but some guests have noted privacy challenges due to open shower designs without blinds.

Fabulous modern hotel ideally situated 5 minutes walk from the main train station. Special shout out to the gentlemen on reception (apologies we didn't get his name) who calmly organised a taxi to get our passports t(which I had managed to leave in the safe) to the airport so we could catch our flight home on time. This was on the 22nd September so thank you so much. Loved the funky touches around reception and the restaurant. a really nice place to stay next to Belvedere Gardens.

I stayed at this hotel on September 29th. The room was completely different from the photos on the website. It was very small, with the toilet on one side of the room and the shower and sink on the other side. The hotel is also right beside a street, and the car noise can be heard clearly inside the room. Definitely its not 4 stars hotel.

So many other options, I wouldn't return here. We upgraded to the panorama room and checked in late so in the morning we opened the blinds to see a huge cement wall and an AC unit. So annoying. The hotel is quirky, a converted office block, we booked a standard room and the size is akin to a cruise ship cabin. Interestingly the layout has the toilet away from the wash hand basin and the shower both of which are in the bedroom! Note: housekeeping is on request and not done as standard!

Tea house
Haas&Haas Restaurant is a charming cafe and tea store located in the heart of Vienna. The restaurant offers a delightful breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea experience. Guests can indulge in traditional afternoon tea with a variety of sandwiches, scones with strawberry jam and mascarpone, tea cakes, and petits fours. The Italian breakfast is highly recommended, served in two courses with delectable croissants and apricot jam.
We went there on a Friday late afternoon for afternoon tea. We got the original menu. They do provide many different kind of teas and the sandwiches and sweets assortments were nice too. The scone was buttery and good. Staff was friendly.

A great spot to stop and cool off after visiting St Stephen’s! We just got drinks and fries, but we loved both the iced tea and the berry lemonade. The atmosphere was also very relaxing and our waitress was efficient and friendly.
Madeline K — Google review
We came here to celebrate our bro’s birthday.🎉 The atmosphere is really good during the summer where you can hear the birds sing and flying around . The grapes trees are rounded around the restaurant which makes you feel like you are within the wine yards. We have looked through the menu and noticed that the only food may taste good is the fried Zander Fish. The fish is fresh but the food is so la la / nothing extraordinary/ special. The rest food is the fusion from Chinese and Indian food . Our relatives ordered the Indian Curry Chicken and Chinese Noodle. I suggest if you wanna have an authentic Chinese or Indian Food - just go to the authentic chinese or noodle stand and authentic Indian restaurants- they cook better. We ordered the Afternoon Tea set costs euro 21,10 and the teapot from euro 6,30–7,90. The only bread I like is the English scone bread . The rest is really simple and nothing extraordinary. If you wanna have the towel cakes for afternoon tea - I would recommend the Cafe Sacher since they are specialized for cakes ! Euro 252 for 6 persons - euro 42/ person… It is a one time life celebration/ experience . If you like good ambience and wanna sit down for a nice tea within city - you can come and enjoy. They are famous for tea. 🫖

Tea heaven for those with a refined palette or those dipping their toes outside of the English tea world. Exceptional food, fabulous cakes, delightful service, and a truly beautiful location. This is my third trip to Vienna and this wonderful little place is an absolute must on the itinerary. Simply sublime.

We love the afternoon tea here . The warm scones with Assam tea are to die for. The egg sandwich were good too . The place is reasonably priced and the shakshuka was good as well . The only problem was the fact that there were more than 4 full grown bees on our table coming again and again and it was a little scary . We feared they would bite . Hence we had to be a little careful till the end. But we would love to come back anyday for the great food and hospitality.

You need to have a reservation if you want to sit in the back garden. The front cafe is free seating. Fried eggs were dry. Shakshoka was good

Had a nice breakfast here. The staff are efficient and professional. It was not busy in the morning and fairly quiet. I would like to try the Afternoon Tea next time.

You must book ahead as it is VERY busy. The service is good, quite speedy and friendly. We went one day and they gave us a table for half an hour - we shared the bruscetta which was OK, and had the stephenstorte (chocolate cake) which was delicious. We went back the next day and booked ahead and had the belgravia afternoon tea. It was absolutely delicious, well worth the money. Variety of strawberries, tea, champagne, sandwiches and cakes. One of the sandwiches wasn't very nice (the salmon one) but I would have it again.

Nestled in the charming 18th district, Café Schopenhauer is a delightful blend of old-world elegance and modern flair. With its high ceilings, large windows, and marble-topped tables, this historic L-shaped coffeehouse exudes a timeless charm that has captivated visitors for decades. The café recently underwent a stylish renovation while preserving its classic ambiance.
Great place to have a morning coffee and a quick bite. Inside is extremely cosy, and you immediately get a warm feeling as you step in. Your perfect place to also sit down and relax or read and study. Try to get a reservation before you come here. If not possible, then you will wait a bit inside, and they find a place for you while you sit at the bar. Prices are very reasonable. 10 of 10 for me!

I really needed the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of Cafe Schopenhauer, which has a modern feel (book store/dinner) without losing touch of its roots. The Putengeschnetzeltes and Topfenstrudel were delicious and the staff friendly and efficient. The Tom Waits playing just before closing only added to the atmosphere

This was very disappointing, the place looked good from the reviews and is very close to where I am staying but the service was terrible. We asked the waiter if we could sit and since the first moment his attitude was off, he said we could sit if there were tables available, we were gonna sit and he yelled at us that someone else was first. I mean then maybe pay more attention to your costumers waiting? how were we supposed to know? We sat down and the other young waiter was nice. One of our dishes never came, the waiter never came to check the tables on our side, when we called him to ask again for the dish he acted rude and careless again. He acted surprised there was a dish missing, even though he apologized, service was very disappointing. We waved several times to pay, we just stood up and went to pay in the cashier. Never coming back, it’s sad cause it’s a cool place and the food is good! I was thinking having breakfast with my family there a few days in this trip but I will not. We felt discriminated cause of our nationality, all the other costumers got a great service, he even chatted with them. PS we thought it was a croissant with jam and butter, it was a plain white bread. Hope you can sort this out in the future.
María J — Google review
Beautiful place with great vibes! The filled croissant was amazing, and the Palatschinken was okay. We were in a hurry, and when I asked at the counter if I could order there, the staff snapped: “We’ll come to you! This is a coffee house!” — okay, chill, coffee house police 😅 The orange juice came in a fancy wine glass, but barely filled — kinda funny, kinda sad. 😂 Lovely spot overall, just wish the service matched the atmosphere.

My absolute favorite cafe in Vienna! When someone asks me- where would you take your friends/family, this would be it. The atmosphere is unbelievable, it’s cozy, comfy and the coffee is delicious. This is perfect for your game nights, brunch, family meetings or just doing work or uni stuff. Also- lots of books, also english, and great choices. They also advise you, if you can’t decide. I always go for the vegans lentil soup, which is my favourite dish. They in general offer more traditional viennese food, so not a lot of vegan options, but it is worth every cent. Space is enough, but not really for groups bigger than 6, and book a table on rainy days!

A book-store-cafe with Frittatensuppe. You don't have to tell me twice. The vibes - on point Viennese. The food - nice and comforting. The drinks - one point honestly, if you love Viennese Cafehaus-Kultur. Cafehauskultur meets booklovers - and vintage lovers

Cafe
Café Sacher Wien is a quintessential Austrian café located in the heart of Vienna, offering a typical Viennese coffee-house atmosphere and the opportunity to indulge in an Original Sacher-Torte. The café boasts a rich history, situated near Vienna's opulent opera house and adorned with elegant décor. Its signature dessert, the Sacher Torte, is a decadent dark-chocolate cake with a layer of tangy apricot jam, served with whipped cream.
Visiting Café Sacher in Munich was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the elegant, classic atmosphere—it feels truly special. I had their famous Sacher-Torte, and it was absolutely divine: rich, perfectly moist chocolate cake with a smooth layer of apricot jam. The coffee complemented it beautifully, and every detail, from the presentation to the service, felt top-notch. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. This isn’t just a café; it’s a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine desserts, quality coffee, and a touch of luxury. I can’t wait to return!
Webman T — Google review
This café is for you if you enjoy a condescending and inattentive service, albeit in a nice historical setting. There is often a long queue outside, however when we were sat upstairs, the floor was half-empty. Perhaps this is to create a sense of exclusivity or the service is simply lacking efficiency (as highlighted in other reviews). We came here for a meal and the cake. The server made it his mission to make this experience as awkward as possible. To start, he came across as quite rude and condescending. He proceeded to knock over one of our glasses, without apologising or cleaning up the contents on the table. The attention to detail was poor, as he forgot to bring the spoons for the soup, and the butter for the breads (we never got the butter). This is despite multiple reminders. Apart from that, the main attraction - Sachertorte - was nothing more than an average chocolate cake. We have had it plenty of times before in Salzburg and simply wanted to try it in the original location. Overall, I am aware that this review won’t stop tourists from visiting the café, but it would be a shame if their experience is tarnished by the same level of service we received. Hopefully they are able to make some much needed improvements to match the more pleasant experience we received in Sacher Salzburg Café, which would be fitting of this historical establishment.

Well I enjoyed it. I just went for the experience and a very nice afternoon hot chocolate and the famous Sacher Torte, which was everything I expected. There was a bit of a queue on a cold afternoon but hey, it's in all the guidebooks so it's going to be busy. Service was pleasant, quick and polite. To those who have given poor reviews I would say get over yourselves! The place is famous and will serve what has done it well for many years, so enjoy it for what it is.
Nick P — Google review
The place was stunning, but the waiter lady not so much. I mean, I don’t know what she expected us to order, but she looked at us like “omg just this?” Just because we didn’t all get something to drink and eat each of us. Not nice at all. Stop looking at people like they’re weird just because they have different opinions or make different choices! Anyway the food was okay but I’m not a fan of Sachertorte.
Melania D — Google review
Beautiful and classic atmosphere, with that traditional Viennese charm. The Sacher Torte is truly delicious and worth its reputation. However, my experience was affected by the attitude of one of the waiters. He slightly raised his voice and acted with a certain arrogance, as if placing himself above the guests, even while remaining outwardly calm. This small detail disturbed my peace during the visit and ended up ruining what could have been an excellent experience. In short: great dessert, pleasant setting, but the arrogance of the staff, especially this particular waiter, made the visit less enjoyable than expected.
Hilton V — Google review
We didn't stay. We went early evening after a bus tour, minimal queue, though the place was busy upstairs and down. The young lady who seated us was smiley and friendly. We had literally sat for 2 minutes when a male server asked if we were ready to order and before we had a chance he just said, 'no, not ready' and strode off. We were hoping to stay for dinner, looked at the menu for main meal ... but no vegetarian 😕 We asked the same server if there was a vegetarian menu. We were abruptly told, 'the menu you have is it.' And again he strode off, like we were an inconvenience or stupid for asking. We sat for another 5-10 minutes being ignored, wanting to ask if at least an omelette would be OK at this time of day. No friendly face came our way. It was then we left, we pointed out the server, to another and asked their name. The name of the male server was Michael. This person should not work in a customer service environment. He needs reminding that the customers who come pay his wages. He is not above any person who walks through those doors. Good customer service in a place of high reputation is key. We found a lovely Austrian Cafe not far away, with vegetarian options and live music, where the servers all smiled and nothing was too much trouble.

I visited with my baby. There was a space for the stroller, and they even had the same Stokke high chair we use at home, so my baby seemed really comfortable. He actually fell asleep in the chair. The café had such a lovely vibe, and the apple strudel was much better than the ones I’ve tried elsewhere. What really made the visit special, though, was the server with curly blonde hair. She had the warmest smile, and her positive energy just brightened the café. I left a little extra tip and got a small gift in return. which was such a lovely surprise. She truly matched the café! beautiful, sweet, and kind.

A beautiful, classy, ornate setting to try the famous sacher torte. The cake itself is nice but nothing special. However, as an experience it is a great thing to do as a tourist. We had lovely waitress too who was so friendly and nice.

Café Landtmann is a renowned Vienna café and restaurant located near several city attractions. The interior features a series of interconnected rooms with cozy seating options, creating a bustling and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The café has been frequented by famous figures such as Sigmund Freud, Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider, Paul McCartney, and Hillary Clinton. It offers sophisticated desserts in an opulent setting adorned with wood-paneled walls and old-fashioned lights.
It is recommended to make an reservation online as there are many people queuing! Vienna’s coffeehouses are known as the city’s elegant living rooms, where time flows slowly and conversations flourish. Beloved by writers, artists, and intellectuals, these cafés offer a refined space for reflection and dialogue. A cup of Wiener Melange, the city’s signature coffee blend of espresso and frothy milk, perfectly embodies this graceful tradition of culture, comfort, and contemplation.

Café Landtmann is a beautiful spot in the heart of Vienna, known for its elegant, traditional Austrian interior. The atmosphere feels timeless and charming, making it a perfect place to relax and soak in Viennese café culture. Their coffee and cakes are exceptional — especially the classic tortes — which explains why both locals and tourists love coming here. It’s not just a café, it’s a piece of Vienna’s history.

A true Viennese classic! Café Landtmann is a real Viennese institution – and now I understand why! We tried the sausage selection, the breaded veal, and finally the Kaiserschmarrn – everything was absolutely delicious, both in flavor and presentation. The veal was perfectly tender, and the Kaiserschmarrn came freshly made with a lovely homemade jam. The service was excellent – polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. A wonderful experience that truly captures the spirit of Vienna. We’ll definitely come back!

Good one for Breakfast with a lovely outdoor seating set-up as well. We sat inside though due to the cold weather in early November. Tried Melange coffee which is the authentic vienesse coffee and omlette which was good. Croissant wasn't the best I had in Vienna though. Lot of tourist places to explore nearby after breakfast.

The Food was really good and fast. But after the first 5min we were completely ignored. We were about to ask for another beer, a desert and more softdrinks. We were a table of 4 and put in a "private" ( more like hidden) room, keept waving for a few minutes but we all gave up and decide to just get up to find a waiter, pay for what we ate and find somewhere else.

Elegant & refined old school grand cafe. We booked here for lunch after our historical walking tour and it was the perfect spot to relax & absorb all the amazing history we’d just learnt. Firstly the indoor seating area is just beautiful and so elegant and stylish. Secondly the service was excellent- super friendly and welcoming. Thirdly, the food was superb- they have a wonderful all-day menu. Very traditional Austrian food. The sausage plate was utterly delicious, as was the potato salad. The grand finale was the cakes - wow, the glass cake cabinet is lined with one beautiful cake after another. And perfectly paired on a hot summers day with an ice coffee. Perfection. Make sure you book in advance. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was pretty full when I walked in but it was just me so they walked me to my table right away. The servers were efficient and polite. The food came out quite quickly after I ordered it. I had the pumpkin risotto with chicken and that was delicious. I was certainly not going to skip dessert, so I ordered the apple strudel with custard, which was heavenly. The crust is very thin and flaky. The apples were perfectly cooked and the custard was so creamy and light. I bought a Bundt cake to take home and asked for a box which was a little complicated to get because they were technically out of them. But the gentleman who was helping me managed to get me a box which I very much appreciate because otherwise the Bundt cake would’ve turned into a pancake on my 24 hour flight back home. So to that gentleman, thanks again!

I’m sure that most of the time, the service is great. However, we went there as a group of five and for some reason “the kitchen confused our order with another table so they thought they have made it already”… We waited for 50 minutes for a breakfast… When we got the food, it was very good, with beautiful esthetics-we enjoyed it. Hopefully it won’t happen next time I visit Vienna 🫡

Café Mozart is a true Viennese gem! The atmosphere perfectly blends historic charm with a warm, welcoming vibe, making it an ideal place to relax and soak up the city’s spirit. We ordered a pink latte, which was quite nice, though it seemed to contain cinnamon, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. We also tried the Sacher and Buchteln (buns). The Sacher was okay, though not the best we’ve tried. The Buchteln, however, felt a bit overpriced — almost 15 euros for two small buns with vanilla custard that tasted rather artificial. On the positive side, they were soft and filled with warm jam, which was a nice touch. The part that disappointed us was the service at the end. When paying, the waiter (or possibly the manager) asked if he could add a 10% tip to the bill. We found this request quite unprofessional, especially considering the very minimal service provided. Overall, while the café looks lovely, the value for money and service experience didn’t meet our expectations. There’s another café just a few meters away that offers a much better overall experience.

The full English and eggs Benedict were delicious…I had room for an apple strudel which didn’t disappoint either! Food delicious and great service. I am only marking this down a star as there is no accessible toilet so my mother couldn’t go as she can’t do steps (had to go to Starbucks)

I stopped by Café Mozart for lunch and left with mixed feelings. The ambience was lovely—elegant yet welcoming, with that classic Viennese charm. Unfortunately, the lunch menu was underwhelming and didn’t live up to expectations. The flavors felt rather bland, and it wasn’t as enjoyable as I had hoped. The soup was extremely salty. On the brighter side, the dessert truly saved the experience: the cake I ordered was excellent, rich, and beautifully presented. If you’re coming here, I’d recommend skipping the lunch menu and going straight for coffee and cake in this wonderful atmosphere.

Café Mozart truly has a historic charm paired with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the apple strudel, hot chocolate, and a few cocktails and everything was really good. What stood out the most was the warm and welcoming staff who made our visit exceptionally pleasant. A delightful place to stop and enjoy a classic Viennese experience.
Mariam B — Google review
This café has been rated highly both here and in numerous blogs so we did come here with high expectations. We made a reservation after seeing the crazy queues for Hotel Sacher's cafe around the corner and because our four year old was in tow. We were immediately seated by a smiley young man and the seating was nice and comfortable. The cakes and coffee were fine, the Sacher torte was a little dry but coffee helped with that and the Apple strudel +custard was albeit lukewarm. The let down sadly was the service, it was a little abrupt during ordering and payment but also you were oddly ignored otherwise. This would be fine in a Starbucks but maybe not in an establishment with these prices, reputation and with staff keen to get a tip out of you when you pay with card! If you want to say you've had a coffee and cake experience in Vienna this isn't the worst place to go to but you can get better cake, coffee and service elsewhere.

Food is out of this world for light and quick lunch or dinner or pleasant long dine in. Service is outstanding. As far as dishes it's self will recommend for soup - liver dumpling soup with beef broth, schwarzenberg sausages with horseradish, mustard and roll. Desert is separate story, after trying many different types of apple strudel - Wien /Vienna strudel (warm /hot) is far the best - moisture, juice, thin.

Charming coffee spot with good service and a cozy atmosphere. The selection of pastries and desserts was inviting, and the cappuccino melange was smooth and flavorful. Café Schwarzenberg is a beautiful and historic café with a classic Viennese atmosphere. The coffee and pastries were excellent, and the staff were polite and professional despite being quite busy. During my visit, I did notice a couple of disgruntled customers who had a complaint and were ultimately given their meal for free. As I was leaving, one of them even joked loudly that she’d “try complaining every time” to get free meals, which was a bit surprising. That said, my own experience was very pleasant. The service was attentive, and the quality of food and drink was wonderful. I’d still recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy an authentic Viennese experience.

Badly received! I was with my big kids and a dog yesterday 39th August 2025 between 9:30 and 10 AM, for a breakfast. I asked politely to the server: is the dog allowed ? he gave me a dirty reply “ dog is allowed but not you!’ I could have turned by back and left but I didn’t react , I said so funny way to greet a client. Above all they needed tips . I gave them but not high tips anyway. For sure I will never step in there. Arrogant people. Then only guy smiling was an Indian guy i suppose with a steel bangle. The others no smile , how can they recruit people so arrogant. I can recruit better ones for them!!! It is a shame. 🥵 attitude has to change we are in the 22st century!!!

Café Museum is a smart café that has gained popularity for its original 1930s design, featuring semi-circled boxes, red velvet upholstery, and retro-style mirrored globes. The café's minimalist interior by Adolf Loos attracted artists like Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele in Fin-de-Siècle Vienna. It offers a spacious area with a quiet separate room for business discussions.

Very nice restaurant and cozy. The egg benedicts were good, however the scrambled eggs were too oily. If your a big fan of coffee and looking for a cafe americano this will not make you fill your stomach you have to order at least another one. Apple struddle was 10/10.

The cappuccino is really good, with creamy milk foam that's rich and slightly sweet. Also, The Kaiserschmarren is sweet but not excessively so, fluffy, and perfectly matched with honey sauce—and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Though slightly pricey, it’s well worth a visit.

Cafe Museum is a very good choice during our Vienna trip. It is located at a very central area, where we can easily combine with our touring agenda (National Opera, Karlskirche). The place itself seems very gorgeous and exclusively fancy, yet the staffs and waitresses/ waiters are friendly and nice. The atmosphere is calm and quite quiet for such a popular venue. We had a Viennese Melange Coffee and a Cappuccino, both were good. Kaiserschmarrn was totally unmatched with the thick yet light and fluffy pancakes, which are also soft and moist inside while slightly crispy outside. It was served with berries and apple jams. I can only highly recommend it, though the prices are totally on the higher end. Spending a slow morning there was perfect to observe the local tradition of cafe house.

We choose Café Museum to enjoy one of our first breakfasts during our stay in Vienna. Beverages were great and the Mozart Cakes were just fine! Here goes the side note. Apparently there's a dress code no one knows about: We were seated with a disgusted face by the chief personnel just because we choose to dress casual and not in an old fashioned way like many other guests. Cafe
Café Sperl, a historic coffeehouse dating back to 1880, is a quintessential part of Vienna's cafe culture. It was once a popular hangout for artists, writers, and even royalty until the Nazis intervened during their reign. The cafe is famous for its opulent and timeless ambiance that embodies the Austrian concept of gemutlich - warmth, comfort, and familiarity.
I definitely recommend this place for an authentic Viennese experience. You can enjoy the full-day breakfast or the regular dishes. There are tons of coffee specialties. The atmosphere is delightful and the service is nice. Make sure you check out opening times as they tend to be closed on Sundays during the summer time. Please enjoy the beautiful seating area inside as they have never changed it since the day they opened.

The true Viennese atmosphere is here. For a coffee or a breakfast all day is good. Recommend this place 100%. You have to walk a bit outside the city centre but it’s worth it. Reasonable price and good food. Coffee is very good. Better to book a table, queue is often but it moves quick.

Absolutely brilliant experience. I came here from a review to enjoy "classic Vienna cafe experience". And I think I got exactly that! The place was nice, with the furniture and layout feeling very authentic. Around us were local people. Having their morning coffee and reading newspaper. The coffee, pastry and egg sausage were all great. Highly recommend the Sperl chocolate cake! We went there at around 9AM, and no wait time needed however around 30' later there was already a waiting line formed. Highly recommend this place!

Though located slightly further from city center, the price per portion was much better than some of the other cafes. Staff was also very friendly, and gave us the choice of where to sit, instead of immediately deciding for us. The weiner schnitzel was succulent and wasn't too filling, which was great, as it allowed room for a cup of coffee and dessert. The included potato salad is my personal favorite from all the restaurants I've eaten - there isn't as much acidity, and much "smoother" to eat. It's so good that I could eat just the salad as a main dish. The apple strudel was also excellent. Instead of apple chunks, the pie was layered with thin apple slices. The sourness of the apples combined with the whipped cream were a perfect match. Despite my short stay in Vienna, this is definitely my go to place the next time I return.

I really wanted to try one of the traditional cafes in Vienna, and this is the one we chose. It was really nice in the inside, probably with the same decor since when it opened, but it had a lot of charm. The Sperl Torte was really delicious and both coffees were great too. Service was very good and slow, as expected. :-) I can imagine the "slow living" they are famous for.

I’ve been cafe-hopping around Vienna, and Cafe Sperl truly stands out — the food quality here is far more delicious than many other popular spots. Tucked away in a quaint corner, it feels like a hidden gem beloved by locals. I didn’t bump into any other tourists during my visit. The staff are lovely, and the place exudes a peaceful old-world charm and timeless elegance. I wish I lived in Vienna so I could come back more often. Thank you for such a wonderful experience — and as a bonus, it’s one of the filming locations from Before Sunrise, which adds a touch of movie magic to the visit!

The store showcases quality food from its own range as well as premium Austrian companies. Visitors can also purchase Meinl's iconic coffee mugs and coffee tins featuring Klimt designs.
Very expensive fancy food shop. The range of product is very wide, from all around the world but the prices are higher than in normal supermarkets (ex. local ones). The service at cash was unnice.

Worth a visit—offers really high-quality, though high-priced, goods. Great spot for finding gifts for special occasions. However, it felt wasteful that they used two bags for every customer. Why not have more practical, sturdy bags that can hold heavy items and just use one instead?

Julius Meinl am Graben is a true paradise for gourmet lovers in the heart of Vienna. The store offers a wide selection of high-quality products from around the world, including coffee, tea, wine, and fine delicacies. Restaurant
Café Frauenhuber is a classic Viennese café housed in a former medieval bathhouse, boasting a rich history dating back to 1824. The café's traditional ambiance features vaulted ceilings, grand chandeliers, and deep burgundy upholstery. Notably, it was frequented by renowned composers such as Mozart and Beethoven, with the former giving his final public concert there. Despite its age, the café has added an outdoor terrace while maintaining its historic charm.
If you like Viennese pastry, you can't miss this place: you'll find quality and tradition. The elegance of the location is pleasantly old-fashioned.
Erica G — Google review
An old coffee house with a rich history. The classics were available to order, paired nicely with a nice hot cup of coffee. Though the room was a bit warm to my liking, but I was able to sit back, relax and my mind seeming traveled back in time to imagine what it was like when the Greats such as Mozart and Beethoven came in and enjoyed their afternoon snack. The place was relatively quiet, interior design simple but clean. Servers were attentive of patrons, but gave ample room to sit back without being rushed. Definitely worth a visit when in Vienna to soak in the history of this place.

Visited this cafe because of the Beethoven/Mozart history. Walked in with no reservation around 12 on a weekday and it wasn’t too busy. Really enjoyed it! Staff was friendly and prompt, and my plum strudel was delicious.

Highly recommended. Melange Coffee was amazing, Kaiserschmarm was ok. The apple and the plum sauces were nice but the kaiserschmarm itself was thick and kinda dry and the portions are waaay too big in my opinion. I also detest having to tip in a non tipping country

The schnitzel and fries were really good but the older man waiter was very rude and has terrible customer service skills. Took awhile to even acknowledge me and then just told me to look at the qr menu because I don’t speak german. And when I ordered I accidently misspoke and ordered the more expensive still mineral water and instead of regular tap water. When I asked him to take it away when he brought out because it wasn’t what I wanted, he wasn’t at all empathetic and insisted that I couldn’t change the water order when I hadn’t even laid a finger on it. He said it’s too late because it was open as if he wasn’t the one who opened it! Just difficult for no reason. Good food bad service. Not good for tourists

Restaurant Clementine im Glashaus is a sophisticated dining spot located in the glasshouse of Palais Coburg. It offers a diverse menu featuring modern Austrian and European cuisine, with options for healthy and delicious breakfasts such as low-carb brekkie with smoked salmon or traditional Viennese breakfast. The unique setting of the greenhouse filled with plants provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
I've been to Clementine im Glashaus multiple times (for brunch, lunch, and dinner) and it has never once disappointed. The setting is absolutely stunning: a peaceful oasis tucked away from the busy city streets, with a beautiful atmosphere that feels both elegant and relaxed. The food is consistently excellent, with seasonal specials that are always creative and full of flavor. Their wine selection is also fantastic and pairs beautifully with the menu. What really stands out is the service - on every visit, the staff have been warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend.

The food at the special dinner (06.02.2025) was delicious; but the service can get better. I was the last to join our table and my coat was not taken, so I kept it behind my back, on my chair for the whole 3 hours?! Everything else was OK, but I find the toilet super tiny. Just 1 lady’s room for the whole restaurant is a bit downsized situation. Our visit was fine, but I would not repeat…
Ros S — Google review
Very nice dining experience. I have to say it changes from the Austrian standards of service. Staff are really friendly and patient and POLITE. Very nice evening, I couldn’t recommend more Dishes were complex in flavour and texture, not disappointed at all. However one final point, maybe the vegetarian option could have a slight bigger portion, to meet the « value » from the meat option.

had a nice dining experience in a very calm and beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff sitting in the garden, and it was quiet so we could talk and listen to each other. Food was tasty, especially the veal was well prepared and melted in mouth 😋 the spring roll with artichoke was good and fresh. we also tried some dish ( not sure maybe it was salad) with octopus, but there were just 2-3 small pieces of octopus + small sausages. The dessert called "chocolate" was delicious, it was like a brownie with a pear; strawberry tart was good as well. the cuisine was more fusion, so if you are looking for traditional Austrian cuisine, this is not the place 😊
Satenik S — Google review
We always check online before choosing a place, and this restaurant looked beautiful — especially the glass room, which we were really excited to see. On Saturday morning, we stopped by in person. The gentleman at the hotel front desk told us they were at full capacity and not accepting any walk-ins. I asked if we could wait, but he said no — there was simply no way to get in without a reservation. Wanting to give it a try, we went online and easily made a reservation for Sunday morning instead. When we returned the next day, the same person seemed surprised to see us — even though he had told us the day before that Sunday was also fully booked. Oddly enough, the restaurant was nearly empty. They were only seating outdoors, and even that space was less than half full. It was confusing and disappointing. We understand if a place is truly busy, but being told two days in a row that they were packed to capacity — only to come back and find it mostly empty — left a strange impression. We really wanted to enjoy the space and the experience, but the way things were handled made it hard to feel welcome.

This was our first breakfast place in Vienna. When we first arrived they said that they don't have a table for us because we needed a reservation. The thing is that we wanted to stay outside and to make sure we asked if we can at least stay outside and they said that we can. So reservations were just for indoor but they did not mention this, we had to ask. Anyway the coffee was OK, the food was also ok and service was fast and good. Everything was OK besides the confusion with the free table. I don't consider this can be a 5 star review because the food was ordinary, not great not terrible and the drinks as well. Taking all of the his în consideration, 4 stars is a fare review. Also in the end, I do recommend this place!

Beautiful decoration, delicious breakfast and coffee, kind and hospitable owner: a perfect breakfast place in the heart of Vienna. We started chatting with the owner after arrival and when she found out that my twin sister and I had our birthday that day, she surprised us with a muffin and two candles - it was such a heartwarming gesture. We are very happy we chose Budapest Bistro that day on our weekend holiday in Vienna.

Kaffemik, located at Zollergasse in Vienna's 7th district, is a modern and forward-thinking coffee shop aiming to revolutionize the city's traditional coffee culture. The interior is compact, tidy, and adorned with elegant furniture against a backdrop of white and blue tiles. The establishment prides itself on serving high-quality espresso and filter coffee sourced from some of Europe's best roasters.

If you walk along the Mariahilferstrasse, this small place is right next to it. The place is quite small, so don't expect that there will be too much free space inside, but that's why they have 2 benches and a small terrace next to the window. The 2 girls who worked today were extra kind. Thank you for the wounderful espresso and your hospitality.

Stumbled into Kaffemik and was greeted by an Australian barista so friendly I briefly considered inviting him to my wedding (no date set, but still). The vibe? So chill I thought I accidentally walked into a Scandinavian meditation retreat — minus the chanting, plus really good V60. The coffee was so good I came back a second time, which, for me, is basically commitment. If I come a third time, I expect a loyalty ring. Only reason it’s not 5 stars? Because I need some mystery in my life, and perfection scares me. But seriously, great brew, relaxed space, and an Aussie accent that makes even “flat white” sound exotic. Would recommend if you like quality coffee, low-key vibes, and being greeted like a long-lost mate. 🇦🇺☕✨

Its spa is renowned for its private suites with saunas and whirlpools, an 18m pool with underwater music, and high-quality products made from local ingredients.
Enjoyable stay. Good location to music events and museums. Big thanks to Oscar who directed us to great restaurants and was soooo helpful. In room breakfast was very reasonable for the area. Better value than any restaurant for breakfast. Room was spacious and comfortable. Beds were terrific! The Ritz made our trip memorable!

The perfect location, the perfect ambiance… total relaxation, and the perfect team! Special thanks to the heroes of the Concierge — Rainer, Oliver, and Oscar — and to the entire restaurant team, especially Ibrahim and Alex. The rooms were very comfortable. I truly appreciated that water was always available — such a thoughtful detail that made a big difference. I never had to think about ordering or bringing my own. Thank you for taking care of every small detail, including cleaning and night service. A useful note for future guests: the electric plugs are the two-round-pin type, but the hotel provides excellent adapters. Most importantly, my wife really enjoyed the stay! We’ll definitely be coming back!

I stayed at 3 luxury hotel in Vienna within a week (just for fun). First time in a Ritz. I must say overall its one of THE best. Welcome cocktail as you check in...personally shown the room. Very nice decor, indoor swimming pool (can't think of any other hotel in Vienna that has that. Nice Italian restaurant in house (very casual). Great location. For the cost one of the better luxury hotel deals in town.

We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Vienna for 11 nights and had a very good experience overall. The rooms are comfortable and quite large, though some elements of the décor feel a bit dated. The same goes for the hotel interior—there are definite highlights, but parts of it could use a refresh. What truly stands out here is the staff. Service was excellent across the board, especially at D-Bar. The menu is inventive, the drink quality consistently high, and the bartenders are clearly very experienced. One bartender in particular, Tomas, deserves special praise—his drinks were truly outstanding, and his skill, attentiveness, and professionalism made our evenings there some of the best parts of our stay. At the pool, Kristof was extremely helpful and attentive, clearly committed to making guests feel looked after. There’s also a rooftop bar with great city views, which is a nice bonus. The location isn’t as central as the Park Hyatt—most destinations require at least a 10-minute walk—but the surroundings are still lovely, and we enjoyed experiencing Vienna on foot whenever we set out from the hotel. For value, the Ritz-Carlton worked well for us. With such a long stay, we wanted to budget thoughtfully, and it offered a better balance than the Park Hyatt or the Mandarin Oriental.
P L — Google review
The Ritz-Carlton Vienna is a beautiful hotel with an excellent location and elegant, comfortable rooms. Cleanliness was very good, while the overall service and reception were average compared to the usual Ritz-Carlton standard. The main downside was the breakfast — there was no buffet, only à la carte service, which was unusual for me and not at the level expected from such a luxury hotel. Overall, it’s a nice property and enjoyable stay, but service and breakfast quality could be improved to better match the Ritz-Carlton brand experience.

WIRR is a casual spot that serves local specialties and global dishes like curry and falafel from breakfast onwards. It's known for its bomb vegan pizza, cool interior, and versatility as a go-to spot for various occasions such as meeting friends, studying, working, or having a relaxed evening. The cafe offers Austrian breakfast with a variety of items including bread roll, croissant, homemade marmalade, butter, sliced cheese, sliced ham, and an egg.
The food is good but what's more noteworthy is the overall ambiance. The interior design is modern and brutalistic while somehow being soothing. The curatiin of the music also adds to the overall mood. The staff is very friendly. All in all a great place to spend a lazy Sunday morning.

We came for a disappointing brunch here as a party of six. The coffee was great, and it's a great atmosphere inside with nice decor. But our waitress was rude, telling us she "didn't have time" to check a dietary requirement, and the food was very disappointing; the vegan salmon is particularly awful. Overall, everything on the menu just didn't live up to expectations, and I don't expect we'll be coming back again.

A very unpleasant experience. We were just passing through, very hungry and tired in the morning, and chose this place because of its interesting decor. But right away, we were met with an unpleasant look from the waiter, who then came over and at first responded quietly, unclearly, and indifferently in English to my question about a vegan breakfast option. Then he rudely brushed us off, telling me to use Google Translate and figure it out myself, before walking away. It was such a pity to waste our time and energy on this place. Our morning mood was ruined by the waiter’s bad attitude. I do not recommend this place.

The stay was nice overall! It would be even better if the room included a small fridge and a kettle for hot drinks. Some additional privacy for the shower area would also be appreciated. The air conditioning seems to be centrally controlled, so it can’t be adjusted individually in every room. On the bright side, the reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful — every question was answered with a smile, and their service made the stay very pleasant.

The hotel is in a good location, not far from the train station, which makes it very convenient. You can reach all parts of Vienna by train. The room was adequate for two people; overall it was fine, although there was no refrigerator or glasses. The air conditioning was automatic with a time limit, so it could not be controlled individually. The breakfast was good and offered everything needed. The staff was also good.

We found this hotel to be a great place to stay. It wasn't right in the City Centre and we were okay with that as there was public transport directly across from the hotel and the train station was also within walking distance. The only issue we had was been assigned a room with the bedroom in a loft and having to climb a ladder to get to it. As an older couple, it was an it wasn't ideal for us but we managed. Self check-in via tablets was new to us, but the person at the reception/bar assisted us. The room was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and we liked the idea of separate duvets. We opted to eat breakfast at the hotel everyday, and we had plenty of options to choose from. If ever back in Vienna, we would stay here again.

I was a bit disappointed in this property. For some reason I thought it'd be a higher end property, but to me it felt like a high-end hostel with self-check-in. It did have a nice garden courtyard to relax outside if you wanted to. What irritated me the most is that they want you to self-check in, even though they're literally standing right in front of you while you do it and telling you what to do so it is taking twice or three times as long to check in. They already have the vast majority of the information in the computer from the booking but they want you to do it again yourself. While they do not have individually controlled AC in the room, they do have some type of building wide AC that helps somewhat. Unfortunately they turn it off at night when you need it most. Room furnacings were cheap wood with materials such as a curtain to separate the bathroom from the main room instead of a wall on a door. Staff was in different overall. Did not feel welcomed. They do serve food but it is fairly pricey and definitely leans towards the vegetarian. Overall l do not recommend this place if you're looking for a more of a traditional hotel but it is fine if you know what you're getting as it is a pretty good value for the location. I did stay at motel 1 also which was maybe $10 more and it to me was a much better value.

Lovely staff, very clean hotel great breakfast. Our room was advertised as one with a view unfortunately it was of a small building site. There were also no coffee tea making facilities but this was rectified by the hire of a coffee machine. Otherwise great city break

Very well situated, but also noisy - you cannot have the windows opened. The rooms design is not good for 2 colleagues - almost no privacy. The beds are very soft, be ready for a bad sleeping. Personnel is nice and the breakfast was very good.

Honestly had such a lovely 2 night stay, the hotel staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. The location is really good there is so many public transport links nearby however I walked my way to the centre which took around 40/50 minutes. The rooms are so cute and quirky and have everything you need. I would 1000% return. I was solo travelling and felt super safe. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay 🙌🏼🌻🤩

If you're looking for a quaint, classic coffee shop with friendly staff and an inviting ambience, Cafe Espresso is worth a visit. It also has a great selection of wines to choose from, including organic and natural options.
Took a while to pay, but understandable. There's always a lot of people. The terrace is absolutely gorgeous and they always have good and different ideas for breakfast and lunch. Coffee was really good too.

Absolutely loved it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The café has a super genuine vintage interior that feels timeless, and a beautiful terrace that’s perfect for relaxing. The atmosphere is warm, the staff are friendly, and everything we tried was excellent. A true hidden gem I’d recommend to anyone!

We were very positively surprised by this cafe, so near the popular shopping district. The people working at the bar are very professional, fast and cool (in a nice and friendly way). The food was amazing. Nicest place in the area in our opinion 👌. Greetings from the Netherlands!

That was our random choice to have a coffee but worth it. We loved it! It was a tiny lovely cafe in Wien. The waiters were very friendly :) And the latte was delicious. Finally got a perfect milk foam on my latte :) Definitely coming back next time. Two hungarian girls.

Location: Café Espresso is located in a cool (and very hip) area, in the heart of the 7th district. It’s cozy, informal, hip, vintage furnished and well decorated, warm. When the weather allows it, it’s highly recommended to sit outside on the terrace! Food and drink: the beverages are good and tasty, interesting selection of teas. Service: fast, efficient, polite! Unfortunately, there is no door between the smokers/ non smokers areas, it feels like it’s a smokers cafe anyway (very unpleasant for non smokers).

When exploring the vibrant neighborhood around Spar Dakic 1040 Wien, you'll find a delightful array of breakfast spots to kickstart your day. For instance, Ulrich at St. Ulrichplatz is a local favorite, serving up delicious breakfasts until 3 PM on weekends—perfect for those leisurely mornings after a night out. If you're in need of quick bites or lunch options, the nearby megastore offers an impressive selection of affordable groceries and unique products that cater to all tastes.
Great selection of products and well-priced.

Small supermarket with many cheap foodstuffs, special products...
Tiger L — Google review
Our nearest supermarket and the one we always go to but we're thinking of making a change. We've always appreciated the friendly staff and a good range of products BUT we are very disappointed by the 'new look' - many more junk food items than there used to be and all at the front of the shop. This is a mistake. Once processed foods are given prominence over fresh foods, people start to make wrong choices. Supermarkets have a responsibility to see that this doesn't happen.

I’ve been shopping here since I moved to Vienna four years ago. It’s disappointing to see how the new management has flooded the supermarket with unhealthy food, reducing the shelf space for healthier, fresher options. It’s also sad to see the loss of Bio-Spar meat in favor of more TANN products.

Cafe
Café Eiles, located in the 8th district near the town hall, is a local favorite offering daily specials, coffee, and delicious strudel in a relaxed atmosphere with booth seating. The modernized Viennese interior welcomes patrons including writers, poets, intellectuals, and politicians from nearby institutions. Despite some recent updates to the café's ambiance and menu offerings, one thing that remains unchanged is their reputation for serving some of the best apple strudels in town.
We came for a dinner. Ordered sarti spritz and schnitzel (both pork and chicken) and had a good time here. For some people the interior may be slightly outdated or too authentic but I think it creates pretty good atmosphere.
Tereza — Google review
Went for a lunch Pumpking soup was amazing and had unique tastes. Schnitzel was somewhat rough, and not so tender as I had tried in other places. We also ordered applestrudel, but as abaker i could say it wasn't the best: There was too much crumble inside, the slice with the sauce was heated in the microwave because a skin was formed, and there wasn't a balance of sweetness.
Yasmin S — Google review
It’s a charming cafe in a historical building. Staff is funny and uncomplicated. We were going for a breakfast, but unfortunately it was nothing special. The bread tasted old, like it’s from yesterday. Drinks were okay…
Miriam K — Google review
We were staying very close by and found the café both very convenient, friendly and good service. Open hours very customer friendly. We had an early dinner on two occasions. I ordered a very tasty pork schnitzel and the second time the spinach- ricotta tortellini also very good. The atmosphere is very charming and cosy.
Marie G — Google review
Came here after we walked by and liked the vibe inside. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe and thought was reasonably priced. They seemed to be a little understaffed, as wait times for ordering and paying were a bit more than normal, but not egregious. I got the sausages with mustard and horseradish and my wife got the Caesar salad, but we’re solid “meh” but the atmosphere was good enough for us to overlook the meal.
Randy T — Google review
Café with good food but mediocre service This café is a sweet spot to have breakfast or a coffee and a cake. I would have given it 4 stars but I took a star off because the service is not very available. You have to keep looking for someone to flag to help you. The food was pretty good. We had their deconstructed pancakes and their breads which were very good. Their sacher torte and apple crumble were okay. Their lattes were good.
Anonymous A — Google review
I actually went here three times in my week trip of Vienna, and I don’t usually come to a place again when im traveling. The food and atmosphere were great. Honestly the lunch dishes are average at best, but the sweets and coffees are lovely. So is the atmosphere, as this coffee is not in a heavy touristic area, you get some of the Viennese coffee culture ambience that is hard to get closer to downtown. Also, the sacher torte they serve here is amazing On the downside, the service could be better. The waiters although attentive and fast, are a but cold and uninterested. But for me is still a must.

I came to this place to have dinner with one more person. + It’s a local place and there were no tourists so the prices were naturally fair + Food tasted good and the menu offers a large variety + Friendly service +Great place to relax from the city and the service stuff doesn’t rush you to order or pay - In general I liked all the food we had but was slightly disappointed by their Apfelstrudel, I had better once in Vienna

Cafe
Café Bel Étage is a beautiful café and hotel that's perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy photos. The staff is known for being friendly and providing quick service, but it's advisable to make reservations as there's usually a line. While some visitors found the original Sacher chocolate cake to be just okay, others enjoyed it as a classic Czech food experience. The atmosphere is described as interesting, with some guests waiting around 20-30 minutes to be seated.
Came to try the infamous chocolate sacher cake. Oh my!!! Make sure you split it with another person! I ordered the hot chocolate and the tort and it was so rich, I barely finished. Definitely could have easily split. Also !!Allergy Notice!! the specialty chocolate dessert have nuts in them!! My poor little brother couldn’t have any but there are alternative desserts that are nut free (a cheese sweet). We came an hour before close and were immediately sat.
Kaylara B — Google review
You can’t come to Vienna and not try the ORIGINAL Sacher torte - has to be done! We booked online so we were able to skip the long queue that snakes out the door onto the street, and walk upstairs to the beautiful newly renovated tea salon complete with red velvet furniture and red textured damask wallpaper. Service was so disappointing - completely perfunctory and very abrupt bordering on rude - this was the only negative. Tea was served in elegant Cafe Bel Étage embossed teapots and matching cup & saucer. The Sacher Torte was divine and lived up to its reputation! This place isn’t cheap either, and it’s packed with eager tourists. It’s definitely a “one and done” kinda place. So glad I went, but once was enough.
Gustav — Google review
What a wonderful surprise. We definitely wanted to try the original Sacher torte so we decided it had to be the top experience at the Bel Etage of Sacher. The place is so beautiful! We order some lunch and everything was absolutely delicious and cooked “aux point”. The service was elegant and efficient. Last but not the least, the Sacher torte as great and the apflesttrudel also delicious! Definitely worth the experience!!
Dora M — Google review
If you want to indulge in an authentic Sacher Torte experience in Vienna, this is the place to go. You can either reserve a table in advance at Café Bel Etage — the elegant upstairs venue with a unique ambiance — or wait in line for a table at Café Sacher, which can take quite a while, especially during peak hours. The Belle Etage is beautifully furnished in red velvet, with portraits reminiscent of the imperial era. The staff are smartly dressed, the atmosphere refined, and the porcelain delicate and elegant. The Sacher Torte is exactly as it should be: intensely chocolaty and perfectly balanced with a side of whipped cream. The Eggs Benedict were tasty, though I’ve had better elsewhere. The service was polite and well-presented, though a few staff members seemed a bit disorganized. Prices are on the higher side — we paid around €200 for breakfast for five. From my perspective, it’s a lovely place to experience a bit of old-world Vienna, and I would certainly recommend it to friends. However, in terms of value for money, it’s not the strongest.
Eva B — Google review
The place was on my go to list for a long time. We visited around 1PM and had not to wait to be seated, but I've seen long queues around the cafe, which made me postpone my visit several times. We were seated on the first floor (you'll have to wait a little bit for a second floor, it's more spacious and delicate). We tried Original Sacher Torte along with cappuccino (one of the best). The cake itself is good and tasty, but not my kind of sweet treat, but definitely must try, whipped cream helps with the flavours. Thr service was fast and staff was attentive. Would love to be back for other treats.
Mariam K — Google review
The ORIGINAL Sacher torte, definitely a must try in Vienna! I came here wanting to get some takeaway but ended up queuing up for dine-in due to the amazing interior and ambience. It was also my first time trying Sacher torte and apple strudel so I didn't have much previous experiences to compare to, despite that I thought the cakes were absolutely delicious! Definitely would come back again! I also would recommend booking online beforehand to avoid the crowd and seriously long queues which is the only drawback of this cafe.
Wong X — Google review
Everyone says “You must try the original Sacher-Torte in Vienna!” Well, I did. And honestly? Not worth the hype. ⏳ The Wait: I queued 40 minutes outside in the cold like a loyal cake pilgrim… only to be seated and ignored for over 20 more minutes. No menu. No greeting. No smiles. No service. Just sitting there, wondering if I was part of a social experiment. 🍫 The Cake: Behold—the “legendary” Sacher-Torte. Looked elegant. Tasted dry. The chocolate glaze was fine, the apricot jam was barely detectable, and the sponge? Meh. The whipped cream was the best part (and I don’t say that lightly). ☕ The Coffee: Had a specialty coffee with cream and orange—looked fancy, tasted okay. But after all that waiting, even great coffee wouldn’t have saved the experience. 💸 The Experience: Overrated and overpriced. Yes, the interior is grand and photogenic, but if you’re hoping for warmth, service, or culinary bliss—lower your expectations.
Dr J — Google review
Touristic place, but iconic, must see. Didnt make it to the coffee but bought few Sachers in the shop. Dont wait in the line for coffee if you want just a taste of the cake, you can buy it in the shop round the corner.

A beautiful place to visit for exceptional quality coffee and apple strudel. Interior is to be admired situated opposite the Opera house. The staff are polite friendly and attentive. It is a very classy place and well worth the money spent . There was a lady playing the piano in the foyer which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend you fit in at least one visit on your vacation.

It’s a beautiful place, easily accessible from Karlsplatz and Stephansplatz U-Bahn stations (U1 line). The café has three floors, each nicely decorated and full of charm. My tip: when going upstairs, take a look at the cakes on display so you know which one to order — the menu unfortunately doesn’t have pictures. I ordered a chocolate cake and a cappuccino, and both were excellent. We sat facing the opera building and really enjoyed the view. Highly recommended!

A really lovely place to visit. The cakes were absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is typical Viennese — very charming. We waited about 20 minutes for a table since we didn’t have a reservation. I have to say, if I lived in Vienna, this would be my place to go every Saturday morning for breakfast. Even if it were just for a coffee, I swear, this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been for breakfast. Seriously. And not only is the place beautiful, but the breakfast itself was amazing. Everything there, from the service, to the atmosphere, to the entrance, to the area where you leave your coats, even the bathrooms, everything is perfect. This place is a 10/10 in every way. There are standards… and then there is this place. This is the standard. I genuinely wish I lived in Vienna just so I could come here all the time. I also wish I could have gone more than once on my trip, but I needed to try other places and didn’t have much time. Still, I’m so glad we walked by, saw it, and decided to go in. It was unbelievable. The food is so good, the coffee is delicious, the service is great, and the desserts are amazing. It’s truly a 10/10 place. I have nothing bad to say, not even one thing. I don’t even have the words to explain how good it is. If you’re in Vienna and you see this place, go. It’s super chill, so good, and honestly unforgettable. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Looks amazing from the outside and the ambience inside is really nice — it feels like a place where you expect high quality desserts. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t match the expectations. I tried the chocolate cake and was very disappointed. The sponge was not at all fresh, and honestly, I’ve had better cakes at small street-side bakeries. For the price they charge, serving something like this felt quite disappointing. The place itself is beautiful and inviting, so maybe other items on the menu are better, but for me, the quality of the cake really didn’t live up to the standard that the atmosphere suggests.

Really good Service, I know it should be expected from a hotel like this, but out of experience it's not always the case! We came spontaneous as a group of 8 people and could find a place in the bar area after waiting some time! The bar personell was friendly and welcoming! The only minus point I could say, is that I find it strange to not be able to talk the local language (German) with the waiters employees, but that is not substracted from the rating! All in all it was a really nice evening! We will come again!

I'm glad they had two vegan options for dessert. They have no vegan lunch options. The chocolate mousse is delicious. The banana muffin was overcooked and chewy. The ginger tea was 11 euros but it was a quality tea so I could see why it was more expensive. It was worth experiencing once but I wouldn't come back.

Unfortunately, our visit to this café was marred by a racist experience. The hostess seemed displeased to see us, and with an air of glee, informed us that a reservation was required. However, another host eventually seated us. We had a long drive earlier that morning at the speedway and after checking into our beautiful hotel decided to try this elegant café. We eagerly anticipated excellent service and exceptional classic Viennese coffee service and dessert. Sadly, the service fell short of our expectations, and we won't be returning.

In Vienna I visited several restaurants recommended by the Michelin Guide, but this one was by far the best experience in terms of food quality and service. The atmosphere adds to its charm, yet what truly made my dinner special was the simple cuisine based on excellent ingredients, the attentive service, and the local wines. I will definitely return to this beautiful city with the intention of visiting this restaurant again.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Veranda Brasserie & Bar. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, with the rosemary potatoes and the bread accompanied by various dips being standout favorites. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and to my surprise, I even enjoyed the crispy skin — something I usually skip! The steak was also rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. The desserts were another highlight — not only were they delicious, but they were also beautifully presented, adding a touch of elegance to the meal. When I visit Vienna again, I’ll be happy to return to this restaurant!

Excellent restaurant to eat a schnitzel while waiting for your flight. Wine and the Sachertorte were really good too, normal prices for the airport (expect to spend around 35-45 Euros per person for a meal). The service was really nice, Marcel took good care of us. Advised.

Find this good looking and cozy restaurant in Vienna airport arrivals. Food is really tasty. One of the best meals in Austria. Pork tenderloin is absolutely amazing, portion is acceptable. Price 26 Euro in airport is not too bad. Other dishes are also delicious! The only problem is long serving time. We waited about 40 minutes. When we almost decided to leave, the food was ready. While waiting, we saw many guests finished and left, some left without eating. But we noticed the table beside us, a couple with 2 toddlers got food 5 minutes before us, and they arrived earlier. So I guess it’s their normal waiting time. But restaurants in tourist attractions serve fast, with 20 minutes.

delicious restaurant and very nice service. service was quick and thoughtful. the waiter Marcel was very attentive and had great menu recommendations. thoroughly enjoyed my schnitzel and strudel! definitely recommend stopping by when you are at the airport.

Very good place to spend some time while at the airport. Definitely price is on the higher side, but not too crazy and keeps the restaurant always with space to sit. The food is great, specially for an airport, it arrives warm and flavorful. The pastrami sandwich was really good and satisfying, with the fries actually being excellent. The pizza is satisfying at least. Drinks list is large and interesting with some good wines by the glass. I’d recommend choosing the cheaper options as I got the second cheapest from the reds and I’m Pretty sure it had been opened for a while, as also the waiter recommended me choosing the cheaper options, should’ve listened. Every time I’ve visited service is serious but efficient and effective, nothing to complain about and always present. The only thing is that would be nice to have more condiments on the table or proactively offer ketchup, mustard or mayo specially with fries or a sandwich. But when requested things arrived fast. Overall always a pleasant experience and a guarantee.

We had the perfect last meal before leaving Vienna. Our server, Marcel, was incredibly kind—he kept checking if we enjoyed our food and if we needed anything else. When taking our order, he explained everything so nicely, and we were really grateful for his service. And the pizza we had! It was nothing like the usual food you’d expect at an airport—it was absolutely delicious. We’re leaving with not only a wonderful meal but also a great memory. Thank you so much!!

Stranded in the Vienna Airport for three hours and needed a place to settle down… and we were welcomed into Wolfgang Puck’s oasis. From the ambiance to the music, we immediately felt reprieve. We ordered the veal schnitzel with a side of fries (the cucumber side dish complemented the flavor too), a few glasses of Ottakringer, Sacher Torte and Cafe Latte. It was a fitting farewell to Vienna. If you are looking for warm food and warm service, you have come to the right place. Bravo to our server Marcel 👏🏼 He was attentive, warm and accommodating. Danke!

Had a fantastic dining experience here! I got Beef Goulash, Chopped Vegetable Salad and draft beer and green tea, everything is perfetto!! What truly made the visit exceptional was the service. Margel provided outstanding attention with professional attentive, and always had a welcoming smile. His service made the entire meal incredibly enjoyable. Highly recommend this restaurant! Great food and top-tier service, especially thanks to Margel!!!

Very good and convenient cafe right opposite the arrival exit. So, you can seat and have come looking at the arrival information. There are electrical point next to some tables. Coffee and croissant are very good. Friendly and professional staff, thank you!

Nestled across from the Kunstforum Wien on Freyung, Stadtcafe boasts a prime location that perfectly blends elegance and comfort. The interior is adorned in rich hues of brown, gray, and gold, creating a warm ambiance complemented by textured fabrics and striking urban murals. With impressive chandeliers hanging overhead, it’s an inviting spot to unwind. The menu caters to various tastes with options like vegetarian dishes and delightful pancakes served on weekends.
A quick stop for some sachertorte and wine. Booth were very good! Just a short wait for a table on a Friday afternoon and premier prompt service. If you're looking for a good Austrian experience, this is an excellent choice. Lots of other menu items including some strudel too. 🍰🍷😎

The place is very nice and the atmosphere is great. The food was very delicious and felt very high quality. The service was questionable; the staff was really nice and pleasant but couldn't withstand the amount of customers, it took some time until we got seated and about 15 minutes until the waiter took our order (only after asking him to come), again the staff was nice but needed more manpower. Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend eating your breakfast!

This is a wonderful place not to be overlooked. Both of our meals were excellent. The service was exceptional, friendly, helpful, and just fun. The Bartender made us a special Old Fashioned with a Chille Pepper simple syrup which would make a great addition to the permanent cocktail menu. What a wonderful evening.

Half of the restaurant was clearly empty when we arrived, and one waitress told us we could sit anywhere. My friend and I chose a table that had a reservation sign on it, but the reservation time had already passed by about 30 minutes. After we sat down, another waitress came over and told us to move immediately. The people who supposedly reserved the table never showed up, and the place stayed far from full during the next two hours we were there. The whole situation felt unnecessary and poorly handled. However, the coffee was good and the location is great.

Average food and beverages. Service attitude needs improvement. The staff aren't welcoming and friendly. Despite not many guests, the service is slow. I noticed that, besides myself, many guests tried hard to get the attention of the service staff just to get hold of a menu, or place an order. I won't recommend this place if you put high value on service and service attitude.

“The Sacher and strudel were excellent, and surprisingly the cappuccino was too. The waitress was a bit rude. The bill was high, but we were in the city center and the place was excellent.”

So we just arrived in Austria Vienna, and wanted to have breakfast And what a good start, the cheese platter was nice and the coffee too. The service was outstanding to the highest level. But the star of the show was the egg Benedict. Hands down the best Egg Benedict i have ever had.

Es went here for breakfast this morning. The service was friendly and professional. We both got the Guesthouse Breakfast plate a coffee each and a glass of sparkling wine. We were blown away but the amount and quality of food that arrived and was barely able to eat it all. The bread basket was fresh and tasty, the eggs with tomato, mushroom and spinach was delicious, and the cold cuts and cheese platter was very generous(a special mention to the smoked salmon with the lemon cream cheese!). The breakfast platter also came with a glass of grapefruit juice which was perfect, and butter and jam for the bread. Overall an amazingly generous breakfast and the perfect way to start the day!

Loved this cozy place for breakfast. Nice atmosphere with horsecars passing by and Albertina in sight. And Thomas the most kind gentleman waiter we've come across in Vienna. Shall drop by again next time in town!

Guest House Vienna – 5 Stars Aren’t Enough! Not sure what impressed me more—the incredible service or the delicious food. Everything was flawless. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Eslam G — Google review
A pleasant restaurant that delivers good food but for the price, should do better. It could have been our mood, but neither of us were excited about the choices on the menu. The food we got was fine but nothing exceptional. The service did not live up to the setting. Yes, there was a doorman in uniform who opened the door for us, but then did nothing to let the host (who was nowhere to be seen) know that they had guests. The two hotel staff at the counter behind us also did not see this as their job. We stood there for a while. A plus was that our waiter offered to have a small green salad made, which was not on the menu. A minus was that our waiter was sitting at another table chatting for an extended time. The room is nicely decorated with plenty of space between tables. The music, which tended to have a thumping bass was not what I enjoy with dinner.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Clean and modern, elegant yet relaxed, great location, cool rooms and great, friendly service. The restaurant was wonderful, too.

Overall a 4.5/5 dining experience. Schnitzel was excellent with the cranberry sauce but the cakes and dessert missed the mark. Overall a lovely dining experience. Was recommended the schnitzel by our airbnb host but somehow a pork schnitzel tastes better I think

Everything super delicious. The best Quiche Lorraine I’ve even tried - fresh and yummy filling + crumbly shortcrust pastry. Mediterranean salad has very interesting combination of vegetables and nicely cooked calamari. Attentive and efficient service

Cafe
Kurkonditorei OBERLAA - Café Dommayer is a charming establishment that embodies the essence of Viennese café culture. Known for its exquisite cakes, pastries, and specialty teas and coffees, this venue also delights visitors with homemade ice cream during the summer months. Nestled in a tranquil street near Schönbrunn Castle, it offers a cozy outdoor seating area perfect for soaking up the sun while enjoying your meal.
Café Dommayer is a wonderful Austrian cafe in Vienna that serves delicious sweet treats and yummy breakfast dishes. We went there for breakfast and I got the omelette with three mixed vegetables and it was very tasty. They served amazing hot drinks. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the service was good!

The Sachertorte just tasted like a regular chocolate cake—not overly sweet. The texture was okay, but a bit boring. The King’s Cake was pretty good, especially with the raspberry sauce—it paired well and was suitable for two people. The latte was decent as well. Overall, there was nothing wrong with the food. However, the service was really not okay. The server’s attitude wasn’t very friendly when we were ordering. There were five of us, and we were ordering one by one. When I finished ordering and said, “That’s all,” the server immediately tried to walk away. We quickly told him that there were more orders, and I clarified, “That’s all is just me.” His expression instantly changed, and afterward, he kept asking, “Is that all? Are you sure? Absolutely sure?” Later, when confirming the dishes as they were served, he was also quite impatient.
Pablo M — Google review
We came to try the Sachertorte & while we weren't big fans (it was quite dry unfortunately), we absolutely loved the other cakes we tried – the strawberry and lemon one. 🍋🍓 The atmosphere is very elegant but cozy at the same time & is a great place to take a break from a busy day.

Amasing location and amasing food too. Everything tasted great and the service was perfect. They were abble to speak english and they recomanded us some great dishes, was amasing and worth going to. We were there only one time but i would live in Vienna this place would probably be one of my favourites.

We had a fantastic time here. It's our first time in Vienna and we were craving some local desserts. They did not disappoint. Perfect portion sizes, beautiful presentation, calm environment with a lovely garden. If we lived locally we would absolutely become regulars!

Great service, fantastic selection of pastries, decadent desserts and food. Beautiful outdoor seating in the garden. Professional and prompt service. Good location near the Schonbrunn palace

Very kind service, great garden on the back of the building for a relaxing cozy stay. Cakes were excellent, coffee a little less (but is hard to please and Italian). Well deserved five stars.

I found this cafe after a stroll through the park at Schonbrunn Palace. I felt that this cafe is loved by the locals. The customers have good fashion sense and good manners, and it is a very relaxed shop. The service was also polite, and I was very impressed.
