Restaurant
Ribs of Vienna is a popular underground eatery located in the heart of the city, known for its classic meat dishes and cozy atmosphere. The menu features a wide variety of pork spare ribs, ranging from fiery and spicy to traditional options with sauerkraut. In addition to the mouthwatering selection of ribs, the restaurant also offers an extensive array of beers and fine wines.
Absolutely delicious ribs – a total success! You just want to keep eating more and more. The fries were a bit too salty but still acceptable… though let’s be honest, we’re really here for the ribs! Make sure to book in advance – the best way is to go there in person, because the online system isn’t always reliable. Definitely worth coming back!
Gaël — Google review
It’s wonderful to be back at Ribs of Vienna after 20 years! On our first visit, my wife and I stumbled upon this gem while exploring the city. This time, we returned with our daughters—and I’m happy to say the food is just as delicious as we remembered. The spare ribs were outstanding! The fries that came with Gourmet Spare Ribs had a distinctive aroma that made them truly memorable. The Spare Ribs Diablo, with their bold spices and chili kick, elevated the flavor of the meat to another level. A special thank you to the restaurant manager, who was incredibly kind and accommodating. When we walked in without a reservation, he made a reservation for us in a hour time, so we didn’t have to wait there. We also appreciated the thoughtful advice from our young waiter, who gently warned us that ordering three rib dishes might be too much for two adults and two children. Apologies—we finished every bite! They were simply too good to resist. I’m not sure when I’ll be back in Vienna, but when I am, this will be my first stop. I wholeheartedly recommend Ribs of Vienna to anyone visiting the city.

Food was amazing! We ordered the Ribs of Vienna and the portion was huge — definitely more than enough for two Asian ladies. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The onion soup was also delicious, rich, and savoury. Everything paired perfectly with a dark beer. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive. Highly recommend! **book a table in advance before your visit

11 years ago, I was intending to visit here with my partner when he got ill. And now I finally get to try it, and it was a well worth 11 years wait. Tender ribs, amazing flavour. Their fried mushrooms were also really good though wish the size of the dip for the mushrooms were a bit bigger. It ran out fast.
Kenny A — Google review
I am bringing the impression that most Austrian waiter will be mean (this is not what I said but most of the video I view said so), but the waiter and waitress in this restaurant is friendly and professional, love their services. The portion of the ribs is very big and can share amongst 3 pax. Although the ribs is not the best I have, but the taste is not bad. Definitely worth the visit.
Hau A — Google review
A really cozy and pleasant place with fantastic food. The ribs were absolutely amazing, we liked all the sause, but our personal favourite is definitely sous-vide. Better reserve a table (we haven't, but were lucky enough to get one) as the place is really popular.

Definitely a MUST GO restaurant in Vienna and will spread the words to all of my friends who are visiting Vienna! I have to say this is the BEST Meal in 15 Days in Europe! After 15 days of travelling through Europe, I can confidently say that this was the absolute best dinner we have had. Every aspect was perfect, but the food truly ascended to another level. Me and my sister started with the potato mushroom soup, which was delicious, creamy, and comforting. And we thought it can't get any better than this but we were wrong. The ribs!!! I am not actually a fan of ribs. But since they are a famous dish in Vienna, we decided to order them. This decision led to the most wonderful surprise of our trip! These were, without any exaggeration, the most incredible ribs I have ever had in my life. They were fall-off-the-bone tender, super juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the flavour was just sublime. It completely redefined what a rib could be. Portion is generous and worth more than its price! And even the side salad is also a great complement! Perfectly provides a refreshing balance with the ribs! Furthermore, our experience was made even more exceptional by our server, Veronika. She greeted us with the cutest smile that made us feel instantly welcome. She was incredibly patient, explaining the menu in detail. Her recommendation for the ribs was spot-on—we are so grateful she guided us toward it and suggested us to go for bigger portions or we might have to fight for the last piece! Her service was attentive, friendly, and added a wonderful personal touch to our evening. Thank you RIBS OF VIENNA for an unforgettable meal and a perfect dining experience. If you are in Vienna, you simply cannot miss this place. We will be dreaming about those ribs until we can return! LOVE IT!!!Will definitely come back for it!

The ribs are delicious, the portions are generous, and the fried mushrooms are a must-order. The service is good as well, although the waiting time can be a bit long.

Centimeter is a cozy eatery in Vienna that offers classic Austrian dishes like schnitzel and homemade bread, along with a selection of beers. What sets this restaurant apart is its reputation for serving incredibly large portions at reasonable prices. In fact, some menu items are meant to be shared between multiple people. The restaurant's name reflects its unique concept of offering meals and drinks measured by the centimeter, adding an entertaining twist to the dining experience.
Excellent restaurant, located in a cozy and quiet place. Inside it is very cozy and comfortable. It is nice to spend time with friends. However, it is also very good alone. A large selection of dishes for every taste. All food is prepared from fresh products. Apparently, a good cook. The staff is very good and highly professional. Attention to visitors is constant, no one waits for the waiter to come.
Oleksandr L — Google review
Dinner was going great: the place was nice, the food was amazing. But when it came time to pay, the waiter—rushed, rude, and with a bad attitude—basically forced us to leave a 7% tip. I mean, he added it himself, looking annoyed, and said, "In America, this is how it's done" (we’re not in America, though). I have no problem tipping when I get good service—friendly and efficient. But if some random waiter forces it and even adds it himself? Yeah, I’m not okay with that.
Bubble T — Google review
A nice restaurant with good food. The garlic soup was perfect. We took a wheelbarrow of food for four people; the dish turned out to be too large for four. Delicious pork chops and grilled meat, good fries, and various varieties of dumplings. I recommend this place, both the food and the service.
Himesh G — Google review
Came here at opening hours, so I got a window seat. The interior was decorated with beer signs and lots of miniature beer truck toys (according to the owner, roughly 4000!). There's a very rustic and cozy feel to the place, making the place warm and comfortable on cold days. The owner and staff were extremely friendly, recommended some menu items, and they regularly came to check on us to see if everything was fine. The food was delicious and served in a large portion. The weiner schnitzel breading was light, so one wouldn't be sick of eating such a large portion. The potato side dish with acidity from shallots were a great compliment to the main dish. Unfortunately we were already full, so we didn't get a chance to sample the desserts. Definitely worth a visit to relax and enjoy a nice meal!
Eric H — Google review
Dined alone here on 12/11/25. Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile & shown to my table. The decor was a mixture of 'vintage' and 'classic', with the occasional measurement pun, a nod to the restaurants name. The service was swift, and all staff polite & friendly, providing me with English menus, and my first drink within a few minutes. I waited for 12 minutes for my food, a perfectly acceptable wait time for Goulash. And it was well worth the ~€17 that I paid for it. Excellent beef, sauce & dumplings. The chocolate cake dessert was a fantastic addition to my order, too. All food, service and atmosphere absolutely 10/10.
Holly T — Google review
It was an amazing schnitzel and a cordon bleu, very crispy, on the point, very big portion and nice fries. The quality/price/portion for Vienna is top. Just the potato salad was so so. Service was fast and friendly, nice terrace although the interior maybe a bit out dated.
ALICIA I — Google review
Friendly service! Super delicious food! Amazing atmosphere! Try the 2m sausages, the spare ribs, the schnitzel, and if course the house beer!! I would definitely recommend this place!
Vicky Z — Google review
The staff is so nice and welcoming, the place was dead quiet when we went in but it was very late on a Monday night so no surprise, and it looks like it gets way more fun later in the week. The food was good, nothing too special though, and very large portions.

Gasthaus Kopp is a cozy and charming restaurant known for its generous portions of traditional cuisine, particularly the famous wiener schnitzel and kartoffelsalat. The menu changes daily, adding an element of surprise to each visit. While the staff are friendly and accommodating, the menu is exclusively in German; however, they are more than willing to assist with translations. This long-standing eatery has a warm and welcoming atmosphere where guests are treated like family from the moment they arrive.
Typical Austrian bistrot, where you can have local food for a fair price. The staff is very kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend !
Céline R — Google review
Highly recommend this place. The spareribs were the best! The schnitzel was very good too (especially the salad it comes with). Despite the reviews the waiter was very nice
Aidana A — Google review
Good traditional Austrian food at a fair price. Good cold beer as well. You cannot book a table in advance, but normally they have places available.
Eduarda G — Google review
We loved everything about this place and visited twice during our stay in Vienna. Food is delicious, portions are huge, prices are reasonable, it’s much cheaper than in the centre where they rip off tourists. The staff is super friendly, it’s a place for you if you are looking for a real Austrian experience!
J S — Google review
Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Vienna. We ordered the platter and another portion of schnitzel for 4 people. The meal was so good and satisfying. I’m certain that the taste hits home. It felt like I was eating at home. It was very fresh. We wanted to order the Kaiserschmarrn (pancake) but the staff informed us that it wasn’t available before 15:00 the day we visited. However, we checked back to the staff and they kindly accepted our Kaiserschmarrn order around 14:30 and got our dessert in no time. Service was great, the staff were friendly. They accept cash only which was not a problem. If I ever come back to Vienna, I will definitely come back to Gasthaus Kopp. Thank you!
Safrina P — Google review
Really fantastic food at reasonable prices. Nice inside and good vibes outside, lovely server. Overall great. We ordered Wiener schnitzel with potato salad and gulach and both were amazing, for dessert kaiserschmarrn and strudel, both great too! Cash only but there’s an atm just around the corner.
Soph C — Google review
A traditional tavern-like restaurant and it has AMAZING schnitzel that's fluffy, crispy and tender. Just be reminded that it doesn't accept payment by card, cash only.
Lena C — Google review
It was a pretty decent restaurant, but some points to note: 1. Cash-only 2. After we ordered 2 sparkling waters, we asked the waiter if we could have 1 instead, but he refused stating “you already ordered it, no refunds”. Poor customer service. 3. Schnitzel isn’t the best here, I’d say go for roast beef instead. 4. Tables were available, but they still made us wait. Understaffed possibly. 5. Prices were fine, around 15-20 euros.

Takeout Restaurant
Zur Alten Kaisermühle is a charming restaurant located on the shores of the Old Danube in Vienna. It offers a rustic and picturesque dining experience with seasonal local and Mediterranean specialties. The menu features a variety of grilled dishes, including meats and seafood prepared on a charcoal grill. Guests can enjoy their meal on the sun-drenched terrace overlooking the boats of the affiliated sailing school, creating a tranquil waterfront ambiance.
I was at this restaurant twice during my stay in Vienna (5 days), let's start with the wonderful service I received, the staff is well trained and provides the best level of service. I must note that the two times I was at the restaurant I did not make a reservation and got a table after 2-3 minutes, I arrived at lunchtime. The food is very tasty and I enjoyed tasting delicacies from Austrian cuisine, the food arrived very quickly and the portions were large and satisfying. I would be happy to return to the restaurant in the future and hope to see the high level I received now.
David O — Google review
The restaurant is by the water with outdoor and indoor seatings. Nice casual atmosphere. The food were hit and miss. The Weiner Schnitzel was tender and tasty. The grill pork was overcooked & tough. The waiter was very nice and honest. I didn't expect him to take off the grill pork from the bill when he noticed I barely eat it.
Sandy H — Google review
We ordered Spareribs and Wiener Schnitzel, and they were absolutely amazing—truly outstanding and incredibly delicious. The schnitzel was fresh, crispy, and authentically Austrian, while the ribs were incredibly fresh and well-marinated. The beer was good as well. For dessert, we had Crème Brûlée and Kaiserschmarrn. I had tried the crème brûlée here before, and it was much more delicious and flawless back then. This time, the sugar on top wasn’t properly caramelized and remained soft. However, the Kaiserschmarrn was good and is a traditional dessert here. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The tip was already included in the bill. The prices are relatively high compared to other Austrian restaurants, likely due to the location, service, and food quality. The space is large and comfortable, and in the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the Danube River.
Madison M — Google review
Quite nice restaurant close to Alte Donau. First impression was strange because of the ‘front door hostess’ (😂) who thought she is the COO at least or something (but only rude and unprofessional). All the other stuff was kind. Delicious food and drinks, congrats Chef👌 Nice terrace with view.
Zoltan H — Google review
We just had lunch at the restaurant and felt extraordinary service! Our waitress was very friendly, food delicious. They have a small playground, perfect place for kids, families or romantic couples to sit at the water. Really recommended. Greetings to the chef Josef, who invited ‘neighbors’ kids for ice cream.

Excellent atmosphere sitting by the Danube river. Friendly staffs and great food.
Mia S — Google review
Been there yesterday for my birthday. The Schnitzel didn´t have much meat, the spare ribs tastet very strange and unfortunately made me sick so I am home with diarrhea today. The Zwiebelrostbraten wasn´t nice either. The only nice meal was the goose but the forgot the dumplings. We told them in a friendly way but, that we aren´t happy. They said a brief sorry. Didn´t give us a price reduction and not even took our complaints seriously ..... What a shame .....:-( Was so famous for the spare ribs and home made fries .... and now you get burnt ribs with regular fries from the supermarket ...... The only nice thing:Wonderful located with a lovely view.

Love the atmosphere of this restaurant! Service was so-so. I did have to get up to find the waiter to order dessert because he brought us the menu and then we waited probably close to 20 minutes. Otherwise the food was AMAZING!

Restaurant
Klein Steiermark is a traditional Austrian restaurant located in the small park Schweizergarten near Belvedere. The eatery offers a warm ambiance with a terrace and serves up delicious schnitzel, goulash, and desserts alongside a selection of wines. Under new ownership, the restaurant has gained acclaim for its high-quality ribs grilled on a Josper grill. While it may be on the pricier side, patrons appreciate the use of top-notch ingredients.
The pork ribs were very delicious, and the pickles on the side were also very refreshing. Paired with beer, I enjoyed a delicious meal today!
Yuling L — Google review
We were recommended this place by two friends with different tastes, after booking on our own based on google reviews. We unfortunately had a less than ideal experience, based seemingly on poor kitchen management and/or poor front of house management. The potato soup came out 30 seconds after we ordered. Okay, but a little odd. Then two of our party got their Wiener Schnitzel and Beef Gulasch, in about the time one might expect. But the other two of our party had to wait 45 minutes to get our Goose, and only after we asked a server, as no one checked in with us in the interim, despite having an empty pitcher of water on the edge of the table and no food on half the table. There was a large party that came in after us, but the restaurant was 30-50% full the entire time we were there. All of the meat was cooked very well, but the dishes lacked any special quality. So, the absolute lack of any kind of service at all, paired with a potentially forgotten(?) order (it felt as if it had been under the warmer lights for a while), and unreasonably high prices for the trouble (and they charge for tap water...) result in a three star review. I personally hate experiences like this and so I'm leaving this review so that others might question their choice to go here. I want to see reviews like this so that I can go into a restaurant fully aware (or choose another). Doing the bare minimum shouldn't warrant a 5 star review - that should be reserved for excellence. Like I said, the food was not bad, but the whole experience left us annoyed. They could have fired the orders so that they areived together, and they could have communicated with us. This whole review would be totally different if they had done so.

Nice place in the park to eat outside on a hot day. Burger was great , beer good. Waiter pushes you for tipping which I don’t like. It’s Austria not America. Other than that is AOK.
Rick W — Google review
Had walked past a couple times and finally walked in last night for dinner. Had the pork knuckle and beer tasting set. Service was easy and staff were friendly. The meal was massive and tasted great . Couldn't decide on which beer was best in the tasting set all were good . All in all this is a great place to sit and eat and relax to enjoy the atmosphere. They brew own beer too. A must if you want to eat . Thanks for a good meal . Price was good not super expensive it was just right for the serving size . We shared between 3 of us with a salad . Thank you from your Australian friends

Very nice restaurant in the Schweizergarten near Belvedere. It is a good place to sit outside, drink a beer, and enjoy a traditional Austrian meal.
David M — Google review
The food was very delicious, especially the ribs. We didn’t make a reservation, so we couldn’t get the best seats, but the meal was so satisfying that we definitely want to come back next time with a reservation.

A very nice restaurant close to the central railway station. Situated in the middle of a park, it features a pleasant shady garden, which is perfect for hot summer days. While obviously tourist-oriented thanks to its location, the restaurant serves really tasty food, especially grilled dishes. Its Martinigansl is one of the best in Vienna! Thanks to its spacious interior, Klein Steiermark is well suited for all kinds of celebrations and office parties.

Guests can savor dishes like fajitas veganas, vegan burrito bowls with sweet potatoes, pickled pumpkin, black beans, avocado, peanut salsa, and green rice.
If I could give 6 stars, I would! From the moment we’ve entered the restaurant -which started with me getting my high heels stuck in the entrance and the lovely employee helping me- the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff is warming. The cocktails were extraordinary and decadent, fruity, tart, sweet and refreshing! The beef nachos are a MUST!!! One of the best nachos I’ve ever eaten! And as you can see - they are loaded. We were there to celebrate my friend’s birthday - and the restaurant treated us with a dessert on the house! Super considerate and attentive, will definitely come again!

Santos in Vienna is a solid pick if you’re in the mood for Mexican-ish cuisine : good food, good drinks, good atmosphere. It’s especially strong if you go during quieter times or happy hour. If you’re very particular about attention to detail or want a super quiet dinner, there might be occasional frustrations.
Smita P — Google review
Seems a really authentic Mexican restaurant, very popular and looking at the atmosphere it's understandable. Food is good quality, well seasoned. Tortillas with cheese were tasty the enchiladas were a little plain to me but the beanpaste was on the spot. Quesadillas here are 2 tortillas put together as a sandwich, it was quite spicy but tasted good too. Service was attentive, timing was alright, I would return 😊

Great food and service. Highly recommend the chicken enchiladas. The guacamole is also very good. Margarita was more like a martini but I enjoyed it.

Really tasty Mexican food and a super nice atmosphere! The place has a great vibe, especially in the evening. It does get pretty crowded sometimes, so it can get a bit loud. Reserving a spot in advance seems to be a good idea, I did at least so we had no issues getting a table, all this without waiting. The staff are super friendly and helpful, though they seem a bit rushed now and then — our main dishes came out before we even finished the appetizers. Still, overall a really good experience! Great food, lovely ambiance, and the streets around the restaurant are beautiful to walk through after dinner. Definitely worth checking out!
Balint K — Google review
Good to have a reservation, especially in the weekend, as it's quite a popular place. Amazing Mexican food with very big portions - taking a starter was a mistake, as then there was no chance to finish main dish ;) They also have nice cocktails and friendly service, the food is served very quickly. For sure we'll be back :)

Tasty Mexican cuisine, what can I say more! with different varieties of choices for foods, drinks and cocktails as well. Definitely go there again.

Restaurant
Located in a busy shopping mall, the Brandauer Gerngroß offers an excellent view of Vienna while enjoying delicious Viennese meals. With three locations in the city, this restaurant is perfect for anyone looking to escape the tourist crowds.
Everything is superb! The ambience is enticing. The food is delicious. The service is fast. The staff are nice. They have an outside dining area which is overlooking Vienna. Perfect for a romantic date.

Came across this when looking for a rooftop restaurant. Great venue, nicely decorated. 2 levels. One on rooftop with great views over city, the other had a balcony. The best part of the experience was the waiter, a young Serbian lad who was doing it all. He waited tables, took orders, orders for drinks then went and made them up, brought out the food, cleaned up the tables after people left and kept all happy. Certainly had his work cut out as was the only one working. Nice lad. Food was good. Ribs were filling. Only went half serve which is 1 full rack. Full serve is 2 racks!! Thanks Nemo. Great work.
Broose C — Google review
I had a fantastic lunch buffet at Brandauer Gerngross! The food was fresh, delicious, and offered great variety at a great price. The ambiance was modern and inviting, with friendly service to match. Perfect spot for a satisfying meal in the heart of Vienna—highly recommended!
Dayas M — Google review
The location is perfect, at least when you have a table on the rooftop terrace, and the food never disappoints. I tried the pork belly with Asian spices and crispy skin. It was good, although the skin was not very crispy. The side dish of fermented red cabbage didn’t fit very well, but it tasted good itself. A schnitzel or spare ribs at this place will always be good, so next time I’ll stick to that.

Food is tasty, good quality and portions are big. Recommend

- Nice well decorated place - Average very salty food - Extremely poor service: I went for ribs upon my friend’s recommendation. At around 15:00, the restaurant was almost empty but all 4 waiters passed me several times without greeting / seating me! I sat myself and waited for the menu, nothing came. One woman came in after 5 minutes, a waiter rushed to greet her. That’s when I walked to him to introduce myself as a human being who wanted to be served. Yes I am black but I wore white jeans and black & white top, totally visible! I wanted to carry the food away, I was given a foam container but no bag. Later on I was told that the bag costed 50 cents. I just left the food behind, after all it wasn’t anything to crave for.
Info B — Google review
service was slow but schnitzel was good!came here on a monday night ~6:30pm. i’m not sure why schnitzel, soup, and a frankfurter took nearly 45 min to come out but at least the view from the rooftop terrace was nice.. that is until it started raining LOL.

We got the best service in Vienna so far! The food quality is awesome. The quantity is obviously great! If I have to recommend a restaurant to a friend who is in Vienna for the first time, Brandauer is the place! Even though the food was A LOT, we (two people) almost ate the whole ribs portion just because it was so delicious! Last night we tried some of the wursts that they have in the menu - they were very tasty!

The Brickmakers Pub & Kitchen in Vienna is a must-visit spot for delicious American BBQ and an impressive selection of over twenty draft beers, including local pale ales, IPAs, and stouts. The pub offers a great atmosphere with friendly service. Visitors highly recommend trying the Brisket, Burnt Ends, and Pastrami Sandwich for their wonderful flavors.
Really nice place to drink beer. Service people are very helpful. They answer all questions. I kinda understand why some people wrote that the food is expansive. BUT this was the first time outside of texas, that i had delicious burnt ends and brisket. Usually the meat is on the dry side, but here it was delicious juicy. Very close to the brisket i had in texas. So for myself i think the prices are fair for the quality you get.
Ana M — Google review
Good burger. Perfectly done medium rare juicy meat, great beer and whiskey selection. Prices are on the expensive side. Especially the beers. Tip: go for normal non cheese chips. They are super crunchy. Don't get the burned ends. They are very very dry.
Miroslav B — Google review
The Brickmakers is a fantastic pub, so good I've visited three times during my stay in Vienna! The food is soo delicious, excellent American BBQ. I highly recommend the Brisket, the Burnt Ends and the Pastrami Sandwich - but to be honest its all wonderful. Then you have the epic beer selection, over twenty draft taps with local pale ales, IPAs, stouts and everything in between. The atmosphere in the pub is great, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended 👍😁
Alan C — Google review
Best barbecue in Vienna we found yet, better than Ribs of Vienna. I'm told they went to Texas to learn how to barbecue and smoke meat properly and brought the smoker back with them from the states. All the servers also speak English and you can make reservations in English over the phone. I had Burnt Ends with mac and cheese and my wife had the fried chicken, really delicious!! If you like it spicy you have to ask for the extra spicy barbecue sauce, but don't worry it's free.
Benedikt — Google review
The staff was friendly and English speaking, The pulled pork is of excellent quality and so are the fries. The interior is a little bit dark but that's just up to your taste.
Erik N — Google review
We have visited the place although we didn't stay as we wanted a more relaxed one for the evening. It's a joint for friends and more friends. We rate only the atmosphere! :-) Update: visited again for a beer. Nice!
Drossos D — Google review
Amazing smoked meats, great selection of beers, be prepared to pay high prices. Lovely decor in the form of their own beer brewery tanks and pipes are everywhere, and you can’t help but notice their love for craft beer and tasting options. Their beer menu changes regularly to keep you coming back, with personal recommendations and the aforementioned home brews. They also smoke their own meat, so if you’re craving low and slow 16 hours smoked ribs or wings or brisket (already hard to find in Vienna!) then look no further. It’s expensive but it satisfies your meat cravings in a way that can barely be explained in words. Try to call ahead for a table as it can get crowded, and be sure to give their wings a try. It’s my personal favourite.

Austrian restaurant
For a considerable amount of time, the establishment lacked an online presence including a website and social media profiles, such as Tripadvisor, preventing them from receiving feedback and sharing customer satisfaction. However, it is pleasing to note that they have now established an internet presence. This restaurant stands out as one of the limited options situated in a place known as Polizei Bad. The reason for this peculiar name remains unknown.

(Translated by Google) It used to be great. Now it has become very expensive (small spareribs just under €20, last year large ones cost less).
