It is free to enter and there is a cafe inside serving a range of set dishes, notably Scouse with a cheese scone, very nice. There are 3 floors of exhibits and a glass elevator for ease of access. We were upsold tickets for a ferry tour. Which we could use as the last ferry sailing was 4 pm, after we had viewed the exhibition. We were also overcharged and the gentleman lounging behind the desk was quite abrasive which immediately soured the experience. If you are going in the afternoon abd want to do the ferry do that first, get the ferry tour out the way as its last sailing is 4 and the exhibition is open until 6.

The place is beautifully kept and a pleasure to walk around. Staff were very helpful and very knowledgeable on the details of each room. The house is free to view, donations accepted. Reception staff very helpful, we were able to borrow a wheelchair for my mum free of charge, they even put her walking stick away safely. The museums in Liverpool are free so we had a good, cheap day out. dissapointed with amount of litter at Monks ferry... we did litter pick but weren't able to get it all as there was too much and the amount of litter washed up from the river was very depressing

Throughout the tour their well informed descriptions were accompanied by helpful safety advice. The dreadful rain outside was forgotten as they took us on the tour into the building and tunnel structure, punctuated by little known interesting facts and Liverpool "firsts" along the way. Quite strenuous at times as access up and down is primarily achieved by use of the stairwells however lifts are available for the less physically able. The guides were knowledgeable, funny and engaging. Many thanks to Ryan, Barbara and Alison. The tour took us through the history, the development and the running of a complex facility. Arrived at venue around 6.50. And was told doors didn't open until 7pm. Venue is an industrial area of Liverpool called Baltic Quarter, not alot I'm the area i walked through, a mcdonalds and Kfc are about 5 minutes walk away on the A Road but leaving the venue at 10pm it was pitch black in the surrounding streets so i stayed close to other fans who had left the venue. Wouldn't advise walking in the area alone in the dark. Nice venue inside, stage near entrance, single bar at the rear, along with an external seating area enclosed from the public. Curfew was at 10pm for a Sunday, which felt early. Great gig and easy to enter exit, despite only 2 staff on the bar, was served quickly each time.
