Would highly recommend booking, the place was humming and is small and intimate. The menu offers plenty of choices for veggies and vegans, with meat and fish options besides. The disco cauliflower is legendary for a reason and we ate up every morsel. The falafel sharing platter was tasty and good sized for two. The carrots with sour grapes were a surprise hit and the sweet tahini sauce below them was moorish. Top tip, get the date bread and butter pudding if you have room! At £60 for three sharing plates, two desserts and a drink each we thought it was good value. Service was friendly and helpful but a tad slow to take orders. Please consider a cookbook release!!

The oyster mushroom shawarma was really nice and not something I tried elsewhere. The whipped goat’s cheese was also great and the pickled watermelon bumped it to the next interesting level. The warm pita was fine but far from exceptional. Disco cauliflower was great and the falafel was pretty solid also. I tried their dessert Lebanese wine which was definitely not to die for but interesting to try - similar I style to sherry or Madeira. Overall I think this place is a must if you are in town since the food is really good. Value for money is very reasonable

I would say if you appreciate good food and you want to celebrate a special occasion then this is one of the nicest places in Liverpool to do so. We had a warm and unpretentious welcome. We were shown to our table and the staff ever so kindly directed a fan our way due to the heat. We chose the Prix Fixe menu at £55 pp. Everything was delicious but there were a few standouts. The seaweed butter was flavourful and very much enjoyed. I ordered the soufflé to start which I was most excited about but I am so glad I come from a family who shares food because the Ox Tongue ended up being my favourite bite of the night. The lamb main was ordered by 2 out of 4 of us and again was an incredible dish! The Art School Restaurant offer an exciting Prix Fixe menu for £55 which looked worth trying, especially as menu options looked very appealing, and decided to go for it. The meal certainly didn’t disappoint and had an excellent experience at this restaurant. Everything ordered at my table was extremely good. We were given a delicious velouté as an amuse bouche to start the meal and we went for the cheese soufflé and a venison tartare for starters. For mains we had the guinea fowl and the cod loin. We ended the meal with a “trio” of signature desserts. Everything without exception was delicious and would certainly go back again to try either their larger Tasting (£125) or Excellence (£95) menus. My only gripe was that, although delicious, my cod loin dish was far too small for a main dish. If I’d hazard a guess, the weight of the cod served was probably around 100g, which really isn’t acceptable as a main. The service at the restaurant is courteous and professional, however the atmosphere, decor and interiors are a little too bland for my taste. Arriving early, the music mix is a bit intrusive, but fades into the background as the restaurant fills. Only problem was my food and drinks orders from different places was delayed as if they had been forgotten to the point we had to ask twice about different ones, as seeing couples that came in after us get theirs same dish first. But the food was delicious and we would go back. It is very cramps too and though it has a great little nook for kids to play in, it isn’t very accessible. I have problems walking and while there was luckily seating downstairs, you’d struggle with a wheelchair. Plus it seemed the toilets were upstairs, unless there was a disabled one on the ground floor or a lift that we didn’t notice. The flavours are fantastic, and if you're searching for mouth-watering Mexican dishes then look no further. It's tapas style so order a selection of dishes and tuck in. We got three of the taco dishes - Birria, Baja and Pibil and got the Chicharon belly bites (which are so succulent, and melt in your mouth). Every dish was perfect and we're looking forward to coming back and trying more. The more people you bring the merrier - as you can try more of everything! The place looked like a vibe and we just wanted something light after doing a bit of shopping. The decor was lovely and a bit of a vibe. The food was definitely the downfall. We ordered the chips and guacamole which was okay, nothing h to complain about but wouldn’t be rushing back for it. Then we ordered chicken tacos along with the halloumi tacos. The chicken ones came and there was a bone, the rest of the “meat” was made up of all skin. Not a great dining experience. The halloumi tacos were fine but overall a bit of a let down. However the server we had was great should took the chicken tacos back, informed the chef and offered for us to order something else (we didn’t) and she took it off the bill. We didn’t have two of the cocktails which were great though! Such a good selection of tequila and mezcal. The table next to us seemed to love their food which left us feeling a bit bummed as we wanted to like the place. Overall we won’t be rushing back.

I thought the food was fairly average for a fine dining tasting menu compared to other places I have visited. A tuna tartare and a beef carpaccio were nicely presented but bland in flavour. The asparagus with herb purees was also pretty bland but attractive on the plate. The best course for me was the mushroom ravioli, very tasty. The beef wellington was disappointing with the end cut of the fillet and the end of the pastry casing. The same for my wife so it seemed to me that those dining a la carte may have had the prime slices at the expense of the tasting menu customers. The food was really good, and because it was a nice day we were able to sit outside in the garden which was really nice. They had some great beers on and a really nice cider too. However, upon arrival this swiftly turned into disappointment. Firstly, the waiters did not acknowledge it was our anniversary, despite writing it on the booking as special request. We were then taken to a table overly lit and laid for three people. We ordered a bottle of red wine which was okay , however, was never topped up by staff, neither was our water. We ordered 6 dishes which all came out within 10 minutes, giving us no time to relax and enjoy the ‘atmosphere’ and only suggesting everything came from a freezer. The meatballs came short of ice cold, and the rest were average if that, lacking flavour. The seafood dishes tasted fishy, were over cooked and chewy. At no point during our meal were we checked on, nor asked if our food was okay and the waitress was not welcoming and clearly ready to go home. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The total bill of £85 is really unacceptable, especially considering this was under a 3 for £20 deal, which means it would have been an even more expensive dinner. I hope the restaurant reads this and has some serious reflection and takes this review into consideration for the future.

I really like Sangria and read they bring it out in jugs so was really excited, however we didn’t get served for 20min and then the food started coming out before we’d even got our first drink. Finally got it and it was basically the worst Sangria I’ve ever had, just fizzy water, which yes came in a jug but was full of ice so we barely got 4 glasses from it between us, and then spent another 20min after ordering waiting for the 2nd round of drinks.. My partner stopped the guy in his tracks to get a third round (which was a single beer and glass of Sangria for last two rounds, because as much as it was rubbish it was either that or Prosecco ) or we likely wouldn’t of had that. The food was ok… I’ve had tapas a few times and this was sub par in comparison but if the Sangria had been actual Sangria and it wasn’t such bad service we would have been happy. Absolute waste of £80 and the worst bottomless we’ve ever done, my partner actually asked to remove the service charge which was something we’ve never done before, we always tip quite well.

The inside is well set out and tastefully done, with a small restaurant area as you walk in next to a quick service bar eating area, and a larger restaurant through the other side beyond the kitchen. Ella, Mel and the team were amazing and helped us plan every detail from welcome drinks to speeches outside and a beautiful three course meal (some of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’d ever had). On the day, everything ran smoothly and was meticulously organised, the florist was able to come in and do the arrangements, the food came out piping hot (no mean feat for 50 people) and the DJ could set up without issue. What can I say, we have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Manifest and the staff/chefs. The food, oh wow!!! Everything we had was incredible. The food was so fresh and the ingredients were all the best you can find. They make everything in house and the food really packs a punch with flavour. The home made crisps are a must try as is the beef tartare and the cheese selection. We sat at the chefs table and it was incredible. Chef Josh and Paul spoke to us throughout explaining what they were cooking and explaining their inspirations for the dishes as well as recommendations. They were incredible to watch and worked like a well oiled machine. They were so patient with our chatter whilst they cooked. Tom the waiter was so kind and attentive and had some brilliant stories about where the cheeses were from and the cocktail master was superb, recommending two cocktails each for myself and my partner which were insanely good. The more time spent observing however it seems more like they're trying to be high end but on a budget. The decor feels incomplete and thrown together. If you have a kitchen window with the kitchen visible to the dining room then it should look presentable and smart, something you'd want your diners to see, but this one is not. Very peculiar. A side door to back of house also kept getting left ajar which was off-putting. Staff were friendly but could have been more attentive during service. Food took a little too long to arrive. We all had steak frite and no steak knives were provided. All the steaks were tough and chewy and the bernaise sauce too thick. Not very good first impressions for their new opening. Id rather have their amazing chicken pie that that used to do in Duke St Market rather than their new menu.

Overall experience is that there is teething issues with the service. We were first seated but without a drinks menu. We asked for this which was then bought to the table but then after waiting 10/15 minutes we asked for someone to take our drinks order. We enjoyed the fish and meat but found the Asian inspired sides slightly confusing alongside the mains. Hopefully this is just early issues with a new restaurant.

Starting with the Yogurt Chat Bombs, we’d suggest eating it in one go. It was an interesting fusion of flavours from the cold yogurt filling combined with chickpeas, tamarind and coriander giving it a slightly spicy kick. Definitely a great item to start with. The chicken felt dry and I would have chosen to go without it if I came back again. To finish off, we got a gulab jamun to share. If you’re looking for a sweet treat, this is definitely something unique to try. We also got some drinks, including The Sherbet which is great if you have a sweet tooth (personally too sweet for me) and the Mango Lassi which is my go-to - it didn’t fail me either so would recommend.

I love good steak. Beautifully textured, rich and with a nice pink centre. Such flavours. The mouth waters. There are good steakhouses and bad steakhouses though; and trying a new one is always a bit risky, feels dangerous - you hope for so much and don’t want to feel the crushing blow of disappointment. I mean, don’t get me wrong - I don’t have steak that often, as it’s oh so very rich, but I do like it to be nice when I do and I don’t like to waste my time. So anyhow, I decided to have a steak. I’d heard about this place previously and had spotted it tucked away down this little back street – the outside looks like an old house, so that’s probably was it was. It looks classy though, discrete like a good steakhouse should be. Entered up some steep stairs on a Monday evening, without a reservation no less, and was able to bag a table anyway – the dining room itself was petit, to the rear of the ground floor with a mere 20 covers. Stairs leading up hinted at further dining space on an upper floor, but that remained a mystery on this occasion. The dining room itself was tastefully decorated, with booths and small tables. For some reason the people in the artwork had been swapped for cows – that was odd, but in keeping with the theme. The theme, naturally, was beef. Quick and friendly service – good range of drinks but again, only a Diet Coke this week for me as I continue to pay homage to my liver ahead of the festive period. Many beers and much wine on the list though. Small menu, with a handful of grazing bites (starters as we might call them…) a selection of sides & sauces and, the centrepiece, the meat. You know what they say though, small menu often means quality menu. Opted to split a couple of the bites to start – some of the croquettes of the day (ham & cheese) and some halloumi bites. Both came with gorgeous sauces, unctuous and rich, mustard and BBQ. The croquettes were particularly superb, little deep-fried balls of joy, bursting with flavour and heat. The halloumi was also tasty – a good texture to the crust. The size of these portions was excellent, they were not too big to detract from the main event, but also not so small that you’d feel insulted. For the main, I opted for the flatiron steak – this is the cheaper cut but I do find it tasty. Cooked to a medium, with a nice pink centre, this is served sliced with rocket and parmesan – the steak itself had a buttery texture, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Went down very well, a true delight. To accompany the steak, a Pfefferkorn sauce and, weirdly, potato waffles with fried eggs. I had to order the latter, instead of chips, just because it was so out of place – not had potato waffles since I was about 12. These were deep-fried though and hand topped with golden-domed eggs, plump and juicy, bursting with the expectation of a fountain of yolk. These were not the waffles of my youth. These were excellent. The peppery rocket with the steak went really well with it too – a nice complimentary hit of flavour. There were also garlic mushrooms available. In retrospect, I should have had those as well. No room for dessert on this occasion, but I see there was a cheesecake of the day – as long as that’s not a white chocolate cheesecake, I’m sure that’ll be lovely. A deerdog likes a good cheesecake. Overall this was an excellent steak at a reasonable price. Two paws up and I’ll be back here in future for another. I might try one of the specials – I had a look online and I see there has been steak & risotto and steak & pasta offered previously. Mmm.

From the moment I entered I was looked after. Even as a walk in we were ushered to a seat and treated with warmth from all of the staff. And then you get to eat the magnificent food. Its hard to express in words how amazing the Fillet was and the savoy cabbage side with a mind altering blue cheese sauce. Cocktails on point as well. And to finish off with a salted caramel panna cotta that was perfection personified. Also the artwork on the walls are fantastic and I had a good chuckle. They are masterpieces. They were out of lots of things including certain wine, nachos and chicken, which ruled out a lot of the menu. Considering it was a pretty quiet evening this was kind of surprising. Some of the food was really tasty, especially the cauliflower wings, and portions were generous. But others were quite poor. The salt and pepper chips were nothing like they usually are, with oven fries in minimal seasoning topped with raw onion and chilli. They didn't even have the pepper on which is advertised on the menu - it was a strange one. Usually the vegetables are cooked. We were also given salad cream when we asked for mayo which I didn't mind but was a bit strange. Given the lack of items available, we were kind of bummed out when a service charge was added at the end which we didn't know about.There are some quite whacky cocktails which were nice and served in teapots and teacups, so if you're thinking of visiting I would stick to drinks. Accompanied with this was noodles and egg fried rice... one point I would like to make is that just putting a fried egg on top of fried rice is lazy in my book, and nobody on the table wanted to smash up the egg as we were sharing several sides so both eggs were just left in empty bowls 😔. The bill was very expensive for what we received , poor service and average food other than the mains, which I must stress was not caused by the waiting staff who were trying their best ... they were just swamped with customers in the venue which then affected service. Ordered the Carni pizza, with delicious fresh meats and chillies. Meat for the people. I topped it with a burrata, because why not? A burrata is a joy in all its wobbly glory. Tasty pizza, I ate almost all of it. Hurrah. No room though for the freshly made tiramisu gloriously advertised on the wall. I wanted it, but the body was not willing. One day I should just do a week of puddings. 😼 The prices here are very reasonable, less than £20 for pizza and drink. A cause to celebrate. I do not dance, but if I did, I might. Sure, it's pretty, and there were loads of people taking photos of the decor. In reality, I found it quite grubby, with dirty stairs, that looked like someone had swept the dirt into the corners. My burger, was tasty enough, but small and in a bog-standard bun like you'd get at Wetherspoons. Very disappointing. My partner's Chicken skewers with a Satay Sauce was basically like Coronation Chicken. The chicken was overcooked and the sauce was very thin and watery, a completely forgettable dish. We planned to stay longer and have a dessert, but thought best not invest any more of our time, so we got an Uber and went elsewhere. Shame really.

Can't remember her name bit she looked like Rhianna! She was always smiling which was lovely to see. It was out first wedding anniversary and they gave is a lovely dessert platter to mark the occasion which was a lovely surprise and such a nice touch. The food was gorgeous and well presented. There is currently some renovations going on but we weren't affected by it except we were going to go back for a drink during the day not it was unfortunately closed.
