Located off UTSA Boulevard, Indy Coffee Club is a specialty coffee shop and espresso bar that carries a culture with their name, which is probably why I felt so at home. Service: When we ordered, we got to chat with one of the barista's for a bit, asking about their history. She was very friendly and knowledgable. When we picked up the drinks, we were able to ask a little bit about their merch, and ended up buying a hat and a shirt from them. Atmosphere: The vibe is definitely a younger crowd - young adults, college-aged, UTSA students. But very welcoming. Like I mentioned before, it carries a club culture to it, and not in an exclusive way. It makes you feel like you belong and are a part of their little tribe. Great place to sit and chat, or to work and study. Limited seating inside; however, if it wasn't so windy, we would've sat outside. Overall, we really loved our experience at Indy Coffee Club. He has a lot of knowledge about coffee, suggested some other local coffee shops, and even gave us a brief rundown of the coffee scene and its history in San Antonio. Besides being easy going and laid back, the barista made a fantastic cortado in the most unique vessel I have ever drank a cortado from; a 4-ounce mini quilted Ball jar. What a brilliant and creative way to serve a cortado. It’s a fool’s proof way to ensure the a perfect milk to espresso ratio. The mixed berry Matcha was so interesting cause the hits of the berry and it had a great balance of sweet and earthy flavors. There was only one other customer inside when we arrived but during the time we were there which was about an hour people were coming and going. It is a small business in a small shopping center and you have to be looking for it. The business is definitely community oriented. Inside is small although there is seating for inside and outside service. The help was friendly and we noticed them constantly cleaning. The unisex bathroom was okay. The business offers a variety of drinks and food and pastries including kolaches, baked goods, avocado on toast, and some non-caffeinated coffee, lemonade and ice cream. The prices are very reasonable. Our two Americano espressos coffees came to $7.50 total. There is seating against the window looking out across the small parking lot and with a great view of airplanes arriving in San Antonio. Unfortunately, we moved to the Boerne area and haven’t had the chance to visit Kapej in a while so today since we found ourselves back in SA we decided to stop by. But unfortunately we were dissatisfied with our experience. The drinks and the customer service were amazing as always, but we noticed that the quality of the food had changed drastically. It took almost 30 minutes after we ordered to receive our food which was a little bit confusing since the restaurant wasn’t busy. My wife ordered the French toast and it was topped off with an overwhelming amount of cinnamon and the “whipped cream” was not whipped, it was very liquidy almost milk- like consistency. The consistency of the whipped cream made the french toast very soggy and inedible. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was alright but it definitely didn’t taste the same as it used to. Thankfully the young lady noticed that my wife didn’t touch her french toast and asked if we wanted it to be remade, but since we were running behind on schedule we had to decline. They were very nice and even offered us a pastry on the house for the inconvenience. Regardless the customer service and the drinks remain a 10/10 but the quality of the food was a 4/10 this time around. We still love the coffee shop and I NEVER leave reviews for places but thought it would make sense to share our experience for future improvements. Im not too sure if the recipes have changed since last year but you guys should definitely change the recipes of the food back to the originals!

The Plaza stood on an island in the San Antonio River up until 1926 when the water was channeled away in flood-control work. The building is not as lavish it was during its heyday golden era, but the bones are still there. Spanish heritage remains in the arches, carved stone and tile floors. I found the location to be captivatingly beautiful. Niche Coffee Co. now welcomes coffee lovers on the corner street level of The Riverwalk Plaza. The cafe is modern yet comfortable and cozy. I read a couple chapters of a book and sipped happily on my very well made cortado. It was bold in flavor and served at a perfect temperature so it was smooth and velvety just the way I like it. The shop uses coffee beans from Quantum Coffee Roasters, a local San Antonio roaster. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

They are known for their coco cajeta syrup which is delicious! My go to order is a vanilla latte half sweet or lavender matcha half sweet. The service is crazy fast. Sometimes my drink is out before I’ve even paid. There’s usually open seating on the weekdays to sit and work as well.
