この美術館前の階段を目掛けて行って、どうせならと建物の外観をザッと見たがかなり凝っていて、細かな装飾が南北？東西？の入口で施されている。 自分の行った火曜日と水曜日は休館日らしく、どうせなら入りたかったがまたここへ来た時の楽しみに取っておこう。

入館が無料の日に訪れた為、混んでいました。 入館するまで10分から15分程度待ちました。（ロッキーの像がある側の入口) でも帰りに見た限り、反対側の正面入口は空いていたようです。 とても大きな美術館で全ての作品を観るには2時間近く要すると思います。 ただし、有名な画家の作品（ゴッホのひまわり、セザンヌやモネの作品)は、一部屋にまとめて展示してあるので、時間がない人はそこだけ見学すれば十分満足できると思います。 フィラデルフィアの有名観光施設ですが、私はそこまで良さが分からなかったので、知人にオススメする事はないと思います。

As a lover of the Victorian era, I was excited to see that there was a nearly in-tact, Victorian nature history museum in Philadelphia. The museum is a time machine, and very warm and inviting. The institute has a National Historic Landmark designation as well. Although you cannot take pictures of the second floor, the experience was really wonderful. It was very quiet and peaceful when I visited on a weekday in the afternoon, and the staff were really wonderful. If you are interested in natural history, this place is worth visiting.
