Trade winds means the house will be warm, very warm. We just got back from a visit and after traveling all day to get to our house, it was hot inside. Our condo rental was a walk to some of the best snorkeling and boogie boarding on the island and we saw turtles from the lanai every morning. They also reached out to us when our rental unit went up for sale, explaining our options, Hawaii rental laws, and giving us an ability to back out of renting the unit if we wanted. I was a little nervous, regardless by being protected by the laws as a renter but I’m glad we kept this booking! They did show the condo once while we were there (we were told this might happen, and not to worry about cleaning up the place) and they gave us the mandatory 48 hour notice. Overall, the quality of service was great and I’ll definitely be booking rentals with them again!

Good amount of parking by the campgrounds/park area. The beach in this part felt more like a narrow strip of beach but there was still enough space to lay out. We went around 3:30pm and there were lots of of shaded areas from the trees, we didn’t even need the umbrella we rented. It got shadier while we were there and by 5pm majority of the beach was shaded and only some small slivers of sun left. The sand is rocky in a lot of places and was a bit painful to walk along some parts of the shore. Tried to snorkel but didn’t see any fish. However, was fully committed to snorkeling as I had no fins so maybe if I was able to swim out further I might have seen more. From what I can tell, only a handful of people were snorkeling anyhow. Highlight was the pasture across the beach/park where there were 2 horses grazing. Was able to walk right up to them as they were hanging around the fence.

The beach is very lovely but could be dangerous to small children. The beach is short and the waves come in strong and you have to watch out for the large lava rocks around the beach. Sand is very soft to your feet. You don't have to worry about a parking fee but there is a daily property fees with taxes and other goofy fees to something like $35 a day. You do get access to Outrigger's pools and can eat at their restaurants and beach bar which is a big plus! We would have given a better score if we stayed in our original room. Due to the time share stays, you can't just book by the day but by the week. So for our last week, they couldn't let us stay in the our original one bedroom suite, but we had to change to a two bedroom. For our last week, we only stayed for 3 days. I think I would have been happier with a different place for our last three days instead of spending the money fora full week here. Like the Marriott complex south of the airport. I have one more complaint, this is all of Hawaii, what with the super thin parking lots.

This is an awesome golf course that everyone visiting Kauai should play. The whole course is well maintained and beautiful. Several holes are along the beach and offer scenic views. The tee boxes are very nice here, not bare dirt or sand, lots of grass.thwy keep the tee box grass is cut and not left long or crazy. The fairways are really nice throughout the course. No bare dirt patches, just nice grass. There are not that many fairway bunkers, but I did find one on the 18th. The rough can be difficult. It does get a little thick in areas. This is not a flat course, so there will be hills on the left or right of the fairways. A few of the holes do have water hazards, but if you plan correctly, these can be avoided. This course does have trees throughout, some holes have a lot on the sides, and some don't. Look ahead to avoid. This course has a good mix of wide and narrower fairways, nothing ridiculously narrow . The greens are really nice here. They are well maintained. The ball rolls smoothly and doesn't bounce all over the place. There is undulation and different breaks, but it is still fun and challenging. Guessing they just cleared some trees and added some greens from the looks of it. First 2 holes have great ocean views, and it's still a decent 9 holes for a muni. If it's your first time, I would definitely suggest looking at the course layout or using a GPS app as you can take a pretty aggressive line off the tee depending which set you play. Greens rolled great, surprisingly firm with the amount of rain this week(November). Some of the pin locations seemed crazy, talking 2 feet of break in 6 feet, I would say borderline illegal. Bunkers were interesting, coming from southern California I had never played this type of sand, got stuck in the first bunker by taking too much sand, then figured out how to compensate. Best of all, this course is really adamant for pace of play. Sorry for those of you that think a round should be 5 hours, but here they require everyone to be done in under 4, which we did easily as a group of 3. When you factor in the price, this course is a must play on the island. We will definitely be back.
