サンディエゴのダウンタウンから車で20分～30分程の場所です。 フリーウェイを降りここに行く途中、アメリカ的な農家やストロベリーなのか?ブルーベリーなのか？ 農産物の売店とかありました。 よってみたかったけど…… 時間がないので……(^o^;) とてものどかな場所です。 しばらく走るとサンディエゴサファリパークの看板があります。 少し海から離れた内陸なので晴れた昼間はとても暑いです。 日本のサファリパークとは違い、マイカーやバスで園内をまわるのではありません。 トラックで牽引する感じの専用の乗り物である程度のエリアを見学はできます。 オプションで専用の車に乗って動物にエサをあげるツアーとかあります。 ロープ繋がった気球とか乗れるアトラクションとかもあり、いろいろ楽しめますが、ある程度お金も掛かる感じです。 とにかく広いので歩くのも大変でした。 真面目に見てたら１日かかるかな?

African tram はCOVID-19で動いてませんでしたが、総じて良かったです。かなりお高いprivate cartツアーに参加しましたが、キリンが目の前で見れたり、サイの詳しい説明が聞けたり、良い経験をしました。広すぎて、めっちゃ歩いたわー。

想像していたサファリパークとは違いました。キリンやサイ等が放し飼いされている一部の区域を除いては、普通の動物園となんら変わりないです。そして入場料が$69(¥9660)と高いのに、サファリツアーやフライトラインに参加するのに更に$92(¥12880)払わなくてはいけないので、かなりお金がかかります…

動物園は3回目ですがサファリは今回初めて。ツアーパスに乗るのは必須。2階の進行方向右側がオススメ。早めに行かないと近くのパーキングは満杯になりますよ。遠くのパーキングは入り口までバスでの送迎あり。途中にワイナリーがあります。興味のある方は寄っても良いかも？

中心部から離れてるし、入園料約6000円にキャラバンサファリは約15000円は高い。しかもキャラバンサファリは柵なしで見れるのはいいけどキリンとかサイに餌をあげるだけ。大分のアフリカンサファリみたいにライオンとかに餌をやるのかと思ってた。トラムツアーでも充分な気がした。ただ、広い。

潮風を感じながらハイキングができる場所です。陸のみのコースと、海岸沿いを歩くコースがありますが、後者は潮が引いている時のみなので注意が必要です。無料駐車場はありますが、夏など海水浴の時期にはすぐ近くの有料駐車場か、路上のコインパーキングに停めるしかありません。しかもこれが少々高いので星4つです。

断崖の上は絶景!! ビーチも綺麗!! しかしそこまでの経路は過酷!! 革靴で行く所ではない!!

デルマーからラホーヤに下る途中にある海岸線と崖地からなる自然保護区です。丘の上にはいくつかの遊歩道が整備されています。私はRazor Pointコースを往復しましたが、所要時間は１時間程度でした。荒涼とした草地のなかの砂地の遊歩道をテクテクゆくと、崖の上から海岸線を眺める展望台に着きます。海には一隻の船もなく、光と空と海と風を感じることができます。まぁそれだけです。展望台には、なにやら悩みを抱えた様子で会話をするおばちゃんたちが数組いました。遊歩道は多少の高低差があり、砂地なので歩きにくく、往復すると冬でもうっすら汗をかきました。真夏はきつそうですね。駐車場は丘の上にありますが、有料($20)です。少しお高いですね。私は丘のふもとの海岸線を走る道路沿いに停めました。無料ですが、丘に上がるのに30分ほどかかります。時間と体力に余裕がある方にはおすすめです。
