Our son visited us from LA and treated us to their Sunday Brunch. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. A friend was stood nearby and witnessed the whole interaction and they also said the lady was exceptionally rude for no reason at all. I should add that all of the other staff I interacted with during my stay were very nice and friendly. I stayed 6 nights and there was a $900 deposit/hold placed/taken at check-in. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this is the largest deposit hold I have experienced. The room was nice but there were a few things I did not like. I was given a room next to the ice machine room and cleaning closest. Thankfully I was only disturbed a couple of times but I was worried I would be disturbed throughout my stay. The shower water was not hot at all. It was warm at most and would get colder the longer I was in the shower. There was a very dusty piece of glass you could look through from the bedroom into the shower. So you could literally look into the shower from the bedroom (and back through). There was a fridge in the bedroom but it was fall of minibar items so I could not actually use the fridge. For the price of the room I would have liked access to a fridge. As soon as I checked out of my room I was disconnected from the hotel WiFi. This was not ideal.

The customer service is severely lacking and for an entity that is strictly based on hospitality, the hospitality was completely missing. We stayed at 4 different hotels during our trip to San Diego, from hiltons to fairmonts and previously lower star hotels such as comfort inns. We’ve also stayed at many intercontinental across north america and have never been asked to pay for a mini fridge to store personal items. They use motion sensor thermostats so every time you leave the room it turns it off and it can get very hot in the rooms. It'll happen if you're a still sleeper like me that you wake up to the AC being off. The service is not the best. I checked in and was not made aware of multiple things like the destination fee and what was included in it. It was only later when I read the welcome paper that I realized I had lost out on a day of credits. I think that would be something said upfront. The valet is very very slow here and not very responsive. You text them to bring your car around and at best it'll take 15 mins and sometimes much longer. They also will change your seats and mirrors which is normally fine. I want them to be safe driving people's cars but they could at least vaguely try to readjust it back so I'm not spending 5 mins fixing every minute detail that was changed for the 2 min drive it off the garage back to the hotel. The valet also won't let you know when your car is ready most of the time which is very frustrating cause sometimes your car will be just sitting there for a long time because you had no idea it was ready. Lastly, there is no real benefit to being a platinum member. You can get free breakfast and an extra $8 for food and beverage but that is it. Giving me back money for a fee I'm already paying is not much to appreciate. No lounge, no extra access, no amenities. It's not a bad hotel by any stretch just leaves some things to be desired. When there are other Marriott hotels in the city, even right around the corner with more amenities and better service for a similar price, it's maybe worth looking at another property.

The radiology tech who transferred me to get my CT scan had a great attitude too. I wish I got her name. But she had red hair and was really sweet, her, the other radiology tech there that night and Dr. Ludwig there made the experience I had there a little better!

I asked the address so I could call an Uber, the nurse was trying to tell me and the younger nurse interrupted and i couldnt hear her. We came early to get a parking pass and parked in the underground garage. We then walked across street about five minutes to a small black metal gate/door that leads to LEGOLAND parking lot; from there about 7-10mins to the front entrance. We were lucky to get upgraded and the kids loved the family suite with their own tv in their own room.The kids also loved the separate kids pool. There is a nice little restaurant on the first floor lobby. We only tried the breakfast buffet and overall was good but selections were kind of limited. I think mainly because they don’t have enough space to display a larger selection. The main reason for not a 5 star stay was because the smoke alarm in the guest room ceiling was constantly blinking green. It was pretty annoying in the dark and had to put on our eye mask to sleep. That being said the hotel room was very clean quiet and the staff are wonderful. We will definitely come again next time.

Kids area was closed for "maintenence", however nothing was blocked off/ no work being done. Several guests asked when the other slide was going to turn on.
