Walking past the Beatles statue towards a white concrete slab wasn’t my idea of a Chinese restaurant, however, having tried a few in Liverpool Chinatown an area in which the establishments gone from good to average to very disappointing, I was willing to give it a try. I am so pleased that I did for two reasons. The first and the most important was the food more of which later. The second was the view of the Mersey which for me. The staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. While waiting for our table the manager of the bar a gentleman named Neil was so helpful when ordering our drinks. I thought the food was fairly average for a fine dining tasting menu compared to other places I have visited. A tuna tartare and a beef carpaccio were nicely presented but bland in flavour. Epic contacted me requesting £200 due to a cleaning charge for smoking in the room. As i knew this wasn't true i declined the request and contacted epic. I had to show them a video i'd luckily taken proving it wasn't my room as they didn't seem to believe me. They informed me that they had made a mistake and it wasn't my room, terrible mistake in my opinion as anybody else may of just paid it. Made me thing they're just scammers at first or just incompetent. The worst part is that they wrote a review on my airbnb account (unknown to me at the time) saying id smoked in the room. This caused me huge grief leading up to NYE as i was trying to book rooms on airbnb but getting declined however my partner was not and after looking on my account i had seen the review, which was 3 weeks old at this point. I then contacted epic and one lady was very helpful however the manager was not and stated he could not offer me any compensation as he had only been at the company for a few days, seemed like a lie in my opinion and in all honesty just felt like he wanted to get me off the phone. I requested the compensation because the slander they had written on my account had cost me extra time and money as the places i wanted had now gone or risen in price. Be careful when booking as they could potentially do this to you as it could be a scam they are running or it may just be that the staff are incompetent, in any case this may cost you dearly in stress and time, or in my case, money.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. All the staff are absolutely lovely and are so friendly, helpful and attentive, whether that be when booking our accommodation and activities with the events team, helping us decorate the event space we hired and carry items from the car or being served in the restaurant and bar. Our room was much, much smaller than we’d anticipated and was very noisy due to being next to the road but having nothing to absorb the sound. I raised this with the hotel who suggested to stay on a week night in the future as it is apparently quieter. Perhaps I was naive to expect a good nights sleep for a £400+ stay.
