Visiting Magellan’s Cross was a meaningful experience for me. It’s humbling to stand at such an important historical site where Christianity first took root in the Philippines. The small chapel is peaceful and easy to find, right next to the Basilica. Definitely worth a quick visit if you’re in Cebu!

Well kept area. A lot of street vendors who are very appreciative of any busy you can give them. Fun trinkets and candles around. If you plan to visit the church just remember there is a dress code. No shorts, tight clothes, open shoes/sandals, caps, or graphic shirts

It is housed within an octagonal stone kiosk, known as the Magellan's Cross Pavilion, constructed in 1834 during Spanish colonial rule using coral stone. The cross itself is believed to be the one planted by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan upon his arrival in Cebu on March 15, 1521, marking the beginning of Christianity in the Philippines. I remember when we were children we only read about it in books and we're taught about it in school. Now, we have the privilege to see it personally. Thank and Praises to God. Looking at the Magellan cross not only represents the faith of my dear religion Christianity, but also shows the beginning of colonialism by the Spaniards in 1521 using religion.
During my visit to Cebu the Magellan cross symbolizes the beginning of Christianity of the Philippines in which our religion is still practiced today, but Spaniards use it for their own advantage for the Filipinos also.
But today Christianity is not like that anymore and it's by pure faith and belief
This cross represents both of these aspects and I was admired of the cross seeing it with my own eyes

You can visit this tourist spot by foot or by taxi and other public transpo. Church is also beside it but make sure you are dressed properly as shorts are not allowed.

Fort San Pedro is a small but fascinating historical site right in the heart of Cebu City. It’s well-preserved and offers a glimpse into the Spanish colonial era, with a mini-museum featuring old cannons, documents, and artifacts. The garden inside is peaceful, and you can walk along the top of the walls for a nice view of the plaza and waterfront. Entrance is very affordable, and the whole visit takes around 30–45 minutes. Great to combine with Magellan’s Cross and the Basilica just a short walk away. Best time to visit is early in the morning before it gets too hot!

We came here for a quick tour to check it out.
The entry is 30 pesos per person without a guide. I highly recommend you hire a guide. They get paid in tips so you can give what you feel is fair.
The guide really made the journey worth it. Otherwise, we wouldn't have understood the history and whatnot as there aren't many infomative signs inside.
All in all, it was a lovely 15-20 mins tour.
If you have some time to spare, it's worth going through it.
We did enjoy the walk and information. Our tour guide was very sweet and took nice pictures of us.
16th Century Spanish Fortification in the Old City of Cebu. The grounds were cool and inviting, the Fort filled with historical relics from days of old. Great stop for a break during the heat of the day

Fort San Pedro is a nice small piece of history in the heart of Cebu. The place was clean and had a lot of cute and clean cats just roaming around. Good place for taking pictures especially in the afternoon. I think the place lacks a bit of storytelling. There are historical pieces but not much else.
This is a historical place which tourists and even locals could visit at least once. You can tour the place for more or less 30-45 minutes. I recommend you to wear comfortable attire as the place is not airconditioned. There is a gallery and souvenir shop as well. Entrance fee is affordable!

Cebu Taoist Temple, situated in the Beverly Hills area, is a captivating complex constructed by the Chinese community. The temple features vibrant pagodas adorned with striking dragon designs and other intricate figures. Perched at an altitude of 300 meters, it offers panoramic views of the city, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts. Visitors are advised to arrange return transportation in advance due to limited taxi availability in the area after 5 pm when the temple closes.
Located in the Beverly hills of Cebu, is a Taoist Temple with fascinating views and awe dropping buildings. Created in the past for rich Chinese settlers in Cebu to create an exclusive neighborhood with a temple to practice their culture.
This temple has dragon sculptures, unique Chinese shaped buildings and telescopes to look closely into the city.
But when you enter inside the temple don't picture the inside as it is disrespectful. And make sure to don't act loud and arrogant instead be respectful.
This used to be a great place to view the city, before the TOPS was built but still a great place during the wet season so that you won't get blown away.

After seeing several posts online—especially the images of the striking green dragon winding across the hillside—I knew this temple was going on my Cebu itinerary. The Cebu Taoist Temple was a vibrant and fascinating visit with plenty to take in across the grounds.
The temple is perched in the elevated Beverly Hills area and offers incredible panoramic views over Cebu City. There’s a fair bit of walking involved, with staircases and paths weaving through pagodas, pavilions, and beautifully manicured gardens. One of the highlights for me was the dragon sculpture near the upper level—vivid, dynamic, and a popular photo spot for a reason.
Inside some temple areas, photography is prohibited, and this is strictly enforced, which I respected. Signs are clearly posted, and temple caretakers are present to maintain the serenity of the place. That said, the architecture, rooflines, and painted details throughout the exteriors are more than enough to fill your camera roll.
This isn’t a fast-paced stop; it’s more reflective and peaceful. I’d recommend including it as part of a wider city sightseeing day. Entry is free, and the views alone make it worth the effort. Bring water, wear decent walking shoes, and prepare for a splash of color and culture.

The Taoist Temple in Cebu is a cool, peaceful spot tucked up in the hills. Loved the colorful details, dragon statues, and calm vibe all around. Climbing up the steps felt like a mini adventure, and the view from the top is pretty awesome too. It’s quiet, not too crowded, and a great place to slow down for a bit. If you're into chill places with a bit of culture, it’s totally worth the stop.
The Taoist Temple of Cebu is located in the Beverly Hills Subdivision of Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines, is a prominent religious and cultural landmark built in 1972 by the city's substantial Chinese Filipino community. A very peaceful, clean and colorful place. We started at the top and it is a good thing that our Tour Guide dropped us and started at the top going down as we finished. There are people who meditates and offerings of something I don't know. It is a great experience to be here and a highly suggested place to be in the list of Tours. September 19, 2025
Had a really nice visit to the Taoist Temple! Super quiet and peaceful, it had such a calming vibe. I honestly wanted to stay longer and take the time to pray, but dahil sa time constraints, di ko na nagawa. Sayang, but it’s definitely a place I’ll be visiting again next time. Perfect if you’re looking for a moment of peace away from the usual hustle. Highly recommend it for a quick retreat! 🙏🏼✨
Beautiful Architecture. It was difficult for me to learn anything about the temple or the belief system. I tried to ask someone about the Saint in their shrine and he had me sit down in front of his desk which had plexiglass. So there was a barrier between us and I could barely hear him. When I asked about the Saint he told me the name but didn’t elaborate any further, and just stared at me. I felt too awkward to ask other questions (that’s on me) so I thanked him and left. Later I went upstairs to another Shrine where there was another employee nearby. This employee was on his phone and when I said to him “excuse me I have a question…” he just looked at me disgustingly and waived his hand to shoo me away. I’ve never experienced that kind of rudeness in the Philippines. I was hoping that the gift shop might have some material or pamphlets but there was only figurines. Beautiful and quiet place but really strange vibe from the employees.
Was good and I didn't have to pay for a ticket, just walked in but the main issue was getting a trip out via grab. Its far enough away you don't get people consistently so had to walk quite a ways and get a bike in the end. So go but get a driver who you can pay to stay. Also not as good as some of the places in the mountains but can't complain given it was free.
Beautiful grounds and architecture. No photography is allowed inside the various places of prayer. Which are covered on the interior with astounding artwork. It was worth the short drive via Grab from IT Park area.

Since it is the oldest ancestral house in the Philippines it doesn’t feel safe in the second floor,feels like the floor will break apart while walking on it.
Inside the house are lot of old stuff that will amaze you,it’s a small house yet there’s so much inside it.
This is a national museum. The entrance fee is PHP 100 per head. The place has a lot of historic artifacts in it. The structure is dusty and in need of rehabilitation. The surrounding neighborhood isn't so safe if you are stranger. Some kids came up to us trying to sell pearls and mother of pearl. The house was built in a time when there were fewer buildings, so I is quite warm inside.
The Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, considered one of the oldest Chinese houses in the Philippines dating back to the 17th century, is a heritage site offering insight into Chinese-Filipino life during the Spanish colonial period. Located in Cebu City’s historic Parian district, it features traditional architecture, antique furniture, and artifacts, with visitors allowed to sit and interact with some exhibits. It is open daily. We've been here last September 17,2025.
The ancestral house was really a nice old antique house that really has very old objects. I can't say exactly but you must be there to enjoy it and I won't be spoiling so I will not post all of the pics and videos.
It's said that this wooden house was built between 1675 and 1700. The entrance fee is only 100 pepo. It's worth the price, but it's better to stop by while on the way to other destinations because the area isn't very large. Numerous things are on display, but they don't give visitors much insight into how people used to live in the past.

Sto. Niño De Cebu is one of the best tourist spot here in cebu city. But more importantly, you need to respect the culture of cebu because its one of sacred church not a public tourist spot. Additionally, when a priest is talking please refrain yourself taking a pictures. To show a respect is not a demand but to show what kind of person you are in a strange place.
arrived there mid-day, crazy hot outside but weren't allowed in (must wear long pants). big crowd outside more like a market than a church. the architure has no special design or size & entice no admiration. we left after 5 min.
During my recent visit to the Basilica del Santo Niño with a friend, we experienced a deeply troubling incident. A stray black dog — which I had earlier seen being mistreated by a guard — bit my friend inside the church. There were multiple witnesses, including three guards and a nun. I had to step in to get the dog to release her, and my friend was bleeding significantly.
What was most upsetting was not just the attack itself, but the response. No one offered assistance. No first aid kit was brought, no one inquired about her condition, and no staff member took initiative to help or even show concern.
As a sacred and historic site, I would expect far greater care and professionalism from those responsible for visitor safety. The lack of empathy and preparedness we witnessed was alarming and disappointing.
I sincerely hope the Basilica leadership takes this as a wake-up call to review their safety measures, provide proper training to staff, stock each guard and guard station with a first aid kit, and ensure compassion is shown to anyone in distress. Visitors deserve to feel safe and cared for in such a revered place.
Cool to see the oldest church in Cebu but very busy and lots of street sellers pestering you. Entrance is free but you have to be dressed appropriately- knees and shoulders covered or you won’t get inside
This is the church of our beloved Santo Niño, a sacred place where we come to pray, reflect, and give thanks. Sometimes, you can come in and find it peaceful with no waiting time. But most of the time, it’s filled with many devoted followers, all gathered in faith and love. It’s a beautiful reminder of how deeply the Santo Niño is cherished by so many. Whether it’s quiet or crowded, the sense of peace and spiritual connection here is always strong.

The Heritage of Cebu Monument, located along Sikatuna Street, showcases a series of concrete and metal sculptures that commemorate significant events and buildings from Cebu's colonial past. Constructed by Filipino artist Eduardo Castrillo in collaboration with architects Heradio Espanol and Ildefonso Santos, the monument depicts key historical moments from the time of Rajah Humabon to Pedro Calungson. The sculptures represent landmarks such as Basilica Del Sto.
This monument tells about how the Spanish colonized Philippines. Its a simple monument just near the oldest street in the PH which is Colon St. There are lot of museum just nearby about 1km range where you can also visit. It is also called Parian Monument by the locals

The heritage of Cebu Monument is a centerpiece of Parian Park in Cebu. It is an amazing sculpture depicting important historical events of Cebu. It's impressive and very detailed.
Location is not the best though as parking can be difficult and some vendors keep on following you with what they are selling. There were also children begging for money. Be careful of your things.
You need to have a guide to explain the details of each sculpture if you are really interested with the monument and Cebu's history.

This monument shows important moments in Cebu's history. This place is quite small and simple, but I think it's worth visiting. I strongly recommend you go there in the evening, maybe right after 5:00 p.m. (It depends on the season.) because it's beautifully lit up. But please note that the area isn't very safe—it's located near a slum.

However, it is a cool monument to see. I do recommend seeing it, but after doing some research on this. It was recommended as a sightseeing place without much context.

I walked here from another tourist spot, several minutes away. I did not realize it was a dead zone for Grab. Be mindful of that if you want to go elsewhere by vehicle and you did not bring your own.

Museo Sugbo, located in a former jail building, offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Cebu. The museum itself is very old and contains artifacts free dating the 1600s in the 1700s the way everything inside the museum is as well-kept the people there care for the items as there is just so much love and appreciation for the Filipino culture that I have been introduced. Thanks to this museum, all the way from Ferdinand Magellan to current day the guides were able to talk to me even in English because I did not know cebuano or Tagalog and I answered all my questions. The museum itself is very clean and it’s not hard to navigate through the whole entire couple of buildings and a lot of the things there you will see surprise you. Couldn’t be more happier with a place to choose to visit in Cebu.
Fantastic little museum about Cebu Island from prehistory through WW2. The permanent collection is three large rooms, lots of artifacts and good descriptions. Also have three small rooms for rotating exhibitions (mostly about minor topics of only local interest).

Almost all section in the building at the inner compound (back) was closed due to renovation. The museum itself is small (expect not more than 1 hour) and old (building wise, and how the exhibits are presented). One good thing about the museum is that it’s presenting a detailed information about Cebu and mostly in chronological order.
However, this museum spend too much effort in explaining Magellan, what he did until how he died (there’s a room just for himself). Wish that it explains more about the people of Cebu, what makes them unique etc.
I'm not from Cebu but it's exciting to know the history behind their culture. Great environment and offers various galleries to visit and if you're a student you can get discounts for their entrance fee.
It was fun to see some of the history of Cebu and the Philippines. It would be nice if they provided more information about what you are seeing than just little cards. But it was free to visit and it's a neat little place to learn about some of the history. They have parking also there if you go down the little side road and honk your horn. Everyone was very friendly.

My first impression about the structure of the place was being like into another place like Rome. It is dedicated to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna, built in 2012 as a tribute to enduring love. She was the Grandmother of Ellen Adarna (Philippine Actress). The place tells a lot of stories of their Family. Filled with artifacts and old personal things that through the years it was set aside and made it open to the public to experience. A highly recommended place when you are in Cebu. It was nice on the outside, a treat to the eye for someone like me who has little fascination with structures like this.
Inside is a huge collections of books, vases and figurines from all over the world.
It serves as devotion of love to the creator's wife. I feel it rather an ostentatious display of wealth, as well as income generating establishment which somehow is not in harmony with essence of love. Well it's just me.
I particularly admire the view of the city as you have a good vantage point.
Many tourist when we visited. With staff that attends to parking. Parking is automatically charged, on top of entrance fee. I forgot to ask if entrance fee is free for drivers, other reviews say it is so please try to bargain on that so you can save. Construction behind the structure and workshop on the basement of the building. You can finish the visit in 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the visitor load. We didn't dine in the area so can't comment on that.

Just visited Temple of Leah and I'm so glad we went in the evening instead of during the day. The lighting at night is absolutely beautiful and you don't have to deal with the heat from the sun, which is a huge plus since you'll be walking around and taking photos.
The temple itself is stunning - it's like stepping into ancient Rome or Greece but you're still in Cebu. The white columns and statues look even more dramatic when they're lit up at night. The whole love story behind why it was built (a husband's tribute to his late wife) makes it even more touching when you're there.
The view of the city from up there is amazing, especially with the city lights below. We spent a good amount of time just taking photos - every corner is Instagram-worthy honestly. The statues, the architecture, the lions - everything photographs really well with the evening lighting.
Staff were friendly and the place was well-maintained. Entrance fee is reasonable for what you get to see. It wasn't too crowded when we went which made it nice and peaceful to walk around.
My tip: definitely go late afternoon or evening. You'll be more comfortable, the photos turn out better, and the whole atmosphere is just nicer. Bring your camera and take your time exploring. Really cool place and a must-visit in Cebu!
The place is really nice and relaxing! The view is beautiful, and it’s definitely worth visiting if you want a peaceful getaway. Just a little tip — it’s best if you have your own car when going up since transportation can be quite pricey. In our experience, we didn’t have one, so we paid around ₱1,000 for a taxi from the city to the top. Thankfully, the driver waited for us and took us back to the condo afterward.
Everything about the place was great — the ambiance, the view, and the overall experience. The floor was a bit wet that day because it was raining, but that’s understandable. It’s a good idea to check the weather before going so you can make the most of your visit.
Overall, it’s a 5-star experience for us! We really enjoyed our time here, and I recommend renting a car so you can also explore nearby spots like Tops Cebu and other scenic places around the area. Perfect for a weekend trip or a quick escape from the city!

Visited the place on a Friday morning. There were a lot of people already walking around the area taking pictures. If you are a big fan of greek architecture or architecture at all, the temple is quite a sight to behold.
Inside the temple are rooms containing different collections ranging from art to alcohol. Nice place to take pictures because of the temple and of course the mountain top view. Nothing else to do here but take pictures and maybe eat at the resto.

Several parts of the structure have deteriorated over time, and ongoing construction work in certain areas may cause inconvenience to tourists and affect their overall experience. This church is one of the oldest churchest in Cebu City (Founded 1595). Even up to now, the place is still so beautiful.
My friend had a wedding here and because the ambiance is so beautiful already, it didn't need much decorations.

Casa Gorordo Museum, located in the historic district of Cebu, is a well-preserved 19th-century residence that offers guided tours, a cafe, and a gift shop. The museum brought back memories of my Mom’s ancestral house of the 1900s. Same shiny hardwood floors, same layout of the bedrooms, same antique cabinets, same religious statues. As I walked from room to room, I felt immensely happy that Casa Gorordo has preserved the cultural artifacts of the 1800s and 1900s and I had the chance to visit this heritage place. It is vintage at its best. Worth visiting.

This is a fantastic house museum that once belonged to one of Cebu's leading families, the Gorordos. The entrance fee includes a tablet audio/video guide, narrated by a member of the family who once lived in the house. The lower level is mostly exhibits of Cebu and some artefacts belonging to the family. The upper section is really where you see the house as it was when it was lived in. The exhibits are lovingly curated featuring some beautiful furnishing including antique and other period furniture. The house even has a private chapel with beautiful devotional objects.

Highly recommend a tour with a guide. It was a very informative and interactive tour with my guide Jerome. He pointed out many details and stories about the house and the lifestyles that I wouldn’t have noticed on my own. And even I was the only visitor in the tour, he made sure I had a good one hour tour with loads of information.
One of the most beautiful ancestral homes that existed even today here in Cebu City. A wonderful experience for wanderer like me who look forward seeing historical sites within the city being preserved a century ago. The exhibits on the first floor are breathtaking, especially the images of saints and agricultural tools. They also have a massive interactive touchscreen map in there which you can use to view Cebu City through the eras. You can also see the modes of transportation here over Cebuano history like carabaos, horses, trains, cars. The second floor is where they store most of the house things like the furniture, a nice sala mayor, kitchen, dining room, study room, oratorio, and even a pretty spacious azotea. There's also a connected Bo's Coffee on the other house and a souvenir shop if y'all want to buy something. Unfortunately, we got stranded here during our visit for more than 2 hours due to heavy rainfall and we cannot even traverse through the paths and the roads here since all are drenched in the flood. And I'm talking about dirty, murky flood that came from the sewers and canals. In the premises of the museum too it easily gets flooded by rain and you have to wait for the staff to pump them or risk wading through the water. They really should fix that up and especially the city government too regarding the roads that lead here, a lot of people navigate through this area and it's easily flooded which could lead to a whole lot more problems. Overall, a nice museum experience, even if it was partly ruined by the rain and flood.

You must adhere to the dress code despite the weather. No shorts, no sandals, no short skirts, dress attire only. As soon as you enter you are greeted with vendors selling candles. Before you enter, there are vendors. After you leave, vendors will pin you and ask for donations. You are allowed the opportunity to spend time praying. I wanted to learn more about the historical significance of this church but it was difficult to comprehend and there doesn't seem to be attempt to help the public learn this. Not enough literature - signage, brochures, books.

This church is one of the most religiously important in the country. Home to the Sto. Niño which arrived in Cebu in 1521, and this church is responsible for Sinulog to exist in the first place.
This church has daliy morning and evening mass every day, and multiple masses in Sunday. And during morning masses it takes place in the church where the St Niño is. Which is currently under renovation
For the English version you usually go in the evening mass In the outdoor area of the church complex, the structure is very interesting. But it's a great place overall to practice Christianity and to also realise the impact it has made in our country today.

The 1730 Jesuit House, located in the Parian district, is believed to be the oldest dated house in the Philippines. While it bears a low-relief from 1730, recent restoration work suggests it may be even older. A coin from the Ming Dynasty found buried in one of its original posts hints at earlier origins and ownership by a Chinese family. This historical site offers insights into Cebu's early settlers and their cultural influences.
At first, we hesitated to go inside since we were greeted by what looked like a warehouse rather than a museum. It turns out the entrance is currently being used as storage by the owner of the Jesuit House.
We paid 50 pesos each (student rate) and were immediately accompanied by a tour guide. This was the very first museo I’ve visited that didn’t even ask if we wanted one—having a guide is simply part of the experience. I realized firsthand how essential they are in making the visit truly worthwhile, because I had always wanted to just tour around on my own as I can be awkward around them. But this changed my preference (well, only if I’m also with someone else haha).
Inside, you’ll be engrossed by the treasured pieces left behind by the house’s past owners. My highlight of the visit was finally learning the origin of the curse word “gi-atay,” a term I’d always known but never fully understood until this tour.

We had an quick tour as we went late that day. You might be a bit confused when Google map tells you have arrived the destination because it leads you to the entrance of a warehouse.
The old house is inside the warehouse belonging to Ho Tong Hardware company. It would be interesting to learn the history and stories of the house owners who run the Ho Tong company as well, but we didn’t have enough time for it.
Formerly used as Jesuit mission house. After paying the entrance fee. A guide, who was a student studying tourism proceeded to walk me through the museum in about 2 minutes, without really explaining anything. Clearly she was in a rush and I just said I would go at my own pace through the museum when she finished her tour.
Inside you'll find an entire floor dedicated to the history of Cebu and a room dedicated to Jesuits and their mission in Philippines. The upper floor is mostly collections of items belonging to the present owners, who own the building along with the metals business. Clearly the family were of Chinese origin judging from the items. I thought the displays were okay and the information a bit too dense, especially when you have to read it in hot and humid conditions.
This museum doesnt look like a museum from the outside because it is beside a warehouse. It is a guided tour by a representative of the musuem. The tour guide is hospitable to guest. You can see a lot of antique inside the museum dating back to the time of Chinese and Spaniards in the PH. If you are in to vintage things this musuem is for you
Very interesting must visit. Down the road is the Yap-San Diego ancestral house which is also a must see. Take a cab or grab car cause no parking available.
2nd time to be here. This time on a guided tour. They also have a small airconditioned cafe where you can relax after the tour. Most of the infrastructure were still from the origininal 1700s house. The place was bought to be used as a warehouse but it was later discovered that the old house inside was from the 1700s making it one of the oldest house in the country. You can go back and read the posts after the tour if you want check on specific details. The place is not packed with antiques unlike the Yap ancestral house. The owner has a collection of ball pythons also!

Local market with cheap vegetables, flowers and fruits. There are some food stalls on the second floor. Pork soup with rice at 80 piso and mussels bowl at 50 piso. The cheapest meal I had in Philippines but the environment was definitely not desirable.

Place offers almost everything you’re looking for at the cheapest price! However, one must always be on guard with their belongings because there are cases of snatchers stealing all kinds of stuff, from phones to wallets and even earrings. The place could also have a better drainage system so it won’t get flooded when it rains.

This place has always been fantastic. During the weekdays, it’s usually less crowded compared to the weekends, making it more enjoyable. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained, which is a plus. I appreciate that the management has installed bidets for people to use. They’re very popular among Filipinos, and using one makes the experience much more comfortable.

Ayala still remains as one of the luxurious malls in the City of Cebu, with a location in the Business Area of Cebu, near the Center of Cebu in Fuente is a very luxurious mall.
Not only does it have the luxury brands and restaurants, it also has a terraces, and a outdoor area on the top floor designed for social gathering and activities.
It is also near BPO and Office Buildings, and Condominiums. Considering its in the middle of the economic center.
But all in all it's a great luxurious mall designed to shop and enjoy. Even though there are areas with ongoing renovation, it remains one of the high quality malls in the City of Cebu.

one of the Biggest SM Malls that I have even stepped foot in, Located strategically in the South Cebu Reclamation Area near the ocean and downtown is a convient place to shop and explore.
The design of this mall is very interesting a circular mall with weird curves and designs with natural light beaming into the malls atmosphere.
The view of the sea nearby makes it an awe experience when shopping. And the parks here are designed for social interaction and conversation.
The stores and wide options here are huge, besides the usual stores and fancy restaurants there also a bowling, skating ring, Lazer tag, VR and other fascinating things to do. It's great to explore here the entire day while getting a sweat.
The icon of the place is the Seaside tower, supposed to be a observation deck for people to look at Cebu has been ongoing renovation, but it has been years since their "renovation" started and there has been no progress, hope it finishes soon on my next visit.

To get here you need to have a private vehicle or you can pay for a motor driver to take you 200 per way. We did got drivers from JY. The drivers will wait for a charge, but we decided to risk it and try and find one so we didn't have to pay extra. We got their phone number in case there were no drivers.
Overall the views were great at night, the pool for adults was small and more geared for kids. Fun to be in the water while seeing the view of Cebu.

The accommodation is really nice because it is child-friendly, with incredible views of the city, and is very comfortable.
However, I do not like that their pool has limited time during the weekdays (only until 6PM max), and on the next day, it opens at 9AM, if I will only be checking in overnight, I am not able to enjoy their pool usage because of this limited time. Furthermore, I also don't like that children using the pool are still being charged even when the adults have an existing accommodation. I just hope they'd just include the children in the pool usage without any extra charge, and the pool is open until 10PM not just in the weekend but even in weekdays as well.

Our team building was held in this location. The view is truly lovely and awe-inspiring. It seems to me that their preference is for their customers to schedule an appointment first, or rather, first come, first served. There are limited tables and chairs, especially during weekends.
The entrance fee is both reasonable and affordable for all individuals. I think it was around 100-150 pesos. You have the option to bring your own food and grill it. Unfortunately, there is no overnight stay.

Me and my friends love it here so much because they would only charge you ₱150 for the entrance fee and then you can bring whatever you want already. Tables and chairs good for 4 is only for ₱300 and you can already have a full day access on the pool. There is no corkage fee so you can bring whatever food and drinks that you want. They also have a karaoke that all of the guests can use, you just need ₱5 for each song. They have a lot of bathrooms and toilets for you to change and their water is cold because its uphill! Its worth it. We really love it here!

Nestled in a lush outdoor reserve, the Jumalon Butterfly Sanctuary And Art Gallery is a tropical paradise for butterfly enthusiasts. Founded by Professor Julian Jumalon in the 1970s, this sanctuary doubles as a museum and art gallery. Visitors can marvel at numerous butterfly species at different stages of their lifecycle, providing an up-close look at these colorful insects in their natural habitat. It's an immersive experience that offers insight into the world of butterflies and showcases captivating artwork alongside the vibrant wildlife.
The place is lovely. The family that runs the Butterfly sanctuary has done it over generations and keeps up the great heritage of the family, which is giving butterflies a place to lay eggs and be safe. You get a little tour which costs 100 pesos and includes the butterfly sanctuary and a little art gallery which is very nice as well. Don't expect loads of butterflies flying around because it's not a place where they keep the butterflies for living, it's more like a come and go area.
I would recommend it if you want to get a little education about butterflies in the Philippines and if you are interested in unique artwork, that is made out of the wings (only from dead butterflies of course)

A classic Cebuano must-visit place not only because it is the only butterfly sanctuary in the city but also because the owner, Maestro Julian Jumalon, is one of the rare lepido-artists in the world. Professor Julian is the first Cebuano (but not really a Cebuano) graduate of the UP Fine Arts in Diliman, an artist and a scientist. Maam Maida, Professor Julian's daughter, a known figure in the academe, now manages and runs the place. Best to call ahead to make reservations.

Madam Jumalon shares her extensive knowledge of the well-loved butterflies and the socially-overlooked moths. In her words, they should be loved equally as butterflies work the day shift and moths-- night shift.
A very charming, intelligent, and passionate lady; she is the daughter of the late Prof Julian Jumalon who studied and collected butterflies and moths as a hobby. He repurposed broken butterfly wings to create a different type of artwork -to which he coined- lepido-mosaic. You can admire the art more up close and see how the wings were glued to create portraits.
Pro tip: visit the morning after a rainy night and you'll experience a magical moment with the butterflies! Middle-Earth-esque.
The place has a long and rich history. I wholeheartedly advise everyone interested in learning anything about butterflies to visit this location. There is a ton of trivia and myths you can discover about these species. The location is also spotless and quite relaxing. Make sure you won't be leaving any garbages behind when you arrive.

One of the best experiences in Cebu City. Lucky enough to be the first tourist led by the student interns from the Don Vicente Rama Memorial National High School back in March, a very well prepared and organised tour.
Madame Jumalon, the daughter of late Prof Jumalon, gave an incredible introduction and her insights on local butterfly species as well as her late father's one of its kind in the world, Lepido Mosaic artwork by upcycling butterfly wings.
The sanctuary is not very big and is divided into three parts, the outdoor garden for butterfly, the indoor exhibition for butterfly specimen and the art gallery for lepido mosaic artwork (where photos are not allowed). You could spend an hour or two inside, definitely worth a visit, especially for those who are into ecology and butterfly.
They were very friendly and helped me hired a Grab to catch the ferry when my phone somehow didn't work.
Late Prof Jumalon was Cebu’s rennaissance man— an innovative artist of Lepido-Mosaics, a self taught etymologist whose works can be found in Smithsonian, and an environmental advocate.
And yet, the humility of his legacy is celebrated through the meticulous care of organic artifacts that Madam Jumalon keeps alive in this sanctuary. Hopefully you too can find your heart and mind inspired by visiting this gem tucked away in outskirts of this beautiful city.

Mad Monkey Cebu City is a lively hostel with simple quarters, a restaurant, and a hip bar. It features a rooftop infinity pool and a graffiti-ridden rooftop bar that offers an amazing view of Cebu City, making it perfect for capturing unforgettable Instagram shots, especially at sunset when the entire bar glows in an incredible red-orange hue. While some guests found the reception unwelcoming and the rooms noisy and dirty, others recommend it for its vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
I really recommend this hostel to everyone who wants to experience a wonderful environment. The foods here are 100% delicious, especially the pizza! The drinks are so fancy! I love their pool are where you can freely swim. What I love the most is their billiards section - where you can play for free and they also have beer pong. This hostel is different from other hostel. You can still sleep very well because they minimize the music at night in the bar. Thanks to the staff, who are very friendly and helpful. A special mention to Sunni, who has accommodated and helped me since I arrived, and also to the reception staff, who helped me throughout the process. So to all solo travelers, I really recommend this hostel because you will love it for sure. Highly recommended. Superb!! 👁️😍😍😍

When I was there over a week ago it wasn’t super busy so the rooftop bar was fairly dead at night. It picked up later into the evening though.
Simple accommodations for dorms. Large lockers to store your luggage and two sinks in the room, one in the bathroom and one outside with hairdryer. Bunk beds have curtains and there is AC in the room.
I had a really good stay at this hostel. What I liked most about this hostel was the super friendly and accommodating staff. They were really helpful with information about what to see and do in and around Cebu which was great because it was my first time in Philippines. The dorm was nice and spacious. Only thing I'd recommend is for there to be extra toilets and showers outside of the room because just one shower/toilet for eight people is not enough. The bar was a nice vibe because there was always a mix of locals and travelers which was cool. I'd totally stay here again.
We had a great experience at this hostel. The staff here were so helpful and helped us to plan our trip and transport after leaving Cebu. The vibe was great and the pool and bar at the top was a nice touch. The hostel was great for social events and had different activities going on each night. Look… I’m not really sure why anyone travels to Cebu other than a connecting flight but this hostel was an experience I haven’t had in a really long time. I want to start by saying we are a couple who’s travelled lots and this has been the worst mad monkey hostel we’ve stayed in.
Most mad monkeys are located in a fun and somewhat safe area. This location is not. We did not feel safe one bit and we’re advised to be careful when walking on the streets. We stayed here because we were going to go to Moalboal on a tour but honestly after talking to people about it, it was not worth it. We checked into a private room at 9pm and the room was shaking and so loud from the bar 3 floors up! I understand this is a party hostel but you should at least be able to escape the noise by going to your room but it felt as you were sleeping in the bar. Don’t be miss leaded as they do have a pool but it gets no sunlight what so ever so you can’t even hang out during the day. We were quite taken back because nothing lead us to it being this bad other than a few reviews that it was a party hostel. We left after one night even though we booked three because hotels weren’t that much more expensive and you get a pool outside at least. Unfortunately they wouldn’t refund us.
So to sum it up, staff were nice, room was clean, CRAZY party hostel that you can’t escape, stay here if you want to party and get blackout every night and only stay a night if you have to.
Definitely a 10/10! The rooftop bar is really fun and amazing! The food and drinks are worth the price. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. I really had fun with their Neon Party and will definitely come back here and will surely recommend it to my friends and family. Shoutout to Georgina for being a great host and always entertaining me, she didn't let me feel lonely. I was really having fun
Pretty good hostel, value for money. We went on Tuesday and they had karaoke, if u sing u get free drinks so keep on singing! The rooms were the perfect temperature. There are 5 floors and no elevator so wouldn't recommend for the impaired. There's 1 bathroom for a room of 8 so u might have to coordinate, but lucky for us it was only 4 in our room of 8 beds. Not a quiet place as their quiet time starts at 1am.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Mad Monkey Hostel! The food here is fantastic, especially the burger which tasted delicious. There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and the quality was really good. However, I must say that the fries served with the burger were not very good. They were a bit soggy and could have been crispier. Apart from that, the food was excellent. The fun parties, especially the karaoke night, made my stay even more enjoyable. There was a great atmosphere. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I had a good night’s sleep every night. It is recommended to use earplugs while sleeping, as it can sometimes be a bit noisy. Luckily, you can get these for free at the reception. The staff and other guests were very friendly and helpful. It was really easy to meet new people here. Overall, I highly recommend Mad Monkey Hostel!

Nestled in the heart of downtown Cebu, the Archdiocesan Museum of Cebu, also known as the Cathedral Museum, is a captivating destination for those interested in the rich tapestry of regional Catholicism. One of the nicest museums out here in Cebu City, might be only second to the National Museum as one of my favorites. There is an entrance fee of 50 pesos. The museum itself is divided into three sections: the chapel of relics, the second floor, and the garden. The chapel houses one of the largest collections of sacred relics I have seen and an old altar of a church. The second floor stores different kinds of icons and images of saints, as well as religious paintings, and a gallery and exhibit solely dedicated to the museum founder, the late Ricardo Cardinal Vidal. I'm only concerned about the floor though, even though I know it's made out of hardwood and is durable, I still can't believe I can see the ground from the second floor through the cracks and gaps of the wooden floor. The garden, for me, is kind of a lackluster, there's really nothing there besides a few wooden benches and, of course, its main exhibit, the bells donated from different people and parishes. To sum up, it's nice to see the history behind every display and I am still in awe of the many relics. So if you want to know about the history and see the most treasured artifacts of the Archdiocese of Cebu and the Cebuano Roman Catholicism as a whole, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

Would highly recommend visiting here even if you are not religious! It is located inside a beautiful historic building adjacent to Cebu Cathedral and it does a wonderful job showcasing local/regional Catholic history through a wide range of items, artwork, etc.

Clean place (including the toilet) and rich in histories like church, popes, priest, cultures and artifacts. You can see also the Pope John's robe and the first Filipino priest history. There is one room that photograph is not allowed. There are two videos attached that shows the panorama view of the place- before and after. Entrance fee is 50php.
Come here only if you wish to learn more about the history and artifacts of Christianity passed from the Spanish colonial times. Two floored with lots of explanation. Built next to a church. Small contribution of 100 peso for entry.
On first floor, it’s kinda of like a prayer room with music. Second floor has history, statues of various bishops and their short biography, bedroom of bishop and some painting.

If you want to experience more of Cebu's historical story, visit the Archdiocesan Museum of Cebu. I've always been curious about what the museum has in store and I finally got the chance to visit during my recent visit. The historical tour should include this place. And the security guard is also very kind and accommodating!

If you're looking for a trendy and modern dining spot in Cebu City, The Pyramid at the Garden Bloc in Cebu IT Park is a must-visit. My boyfriend and I booked a table for two last Feb 14. It was worth Php1,500. The food they served during our date was sinigang, fried chicken and ribs. The dishes were super delicious. We got to enjoy the music and the ambiance was great.

The Pyramid Cebu is a good place for hangout and decent food. So far, they have a delicious and affordable set of menu. Ambiance is very warm and the interior is really stylish and Instagram-friendly. Crew is fast and very efficient too. Serving is very proportional to its price.
Its has awesome architecture! The ambiance is cozy even if it needs additional finishing touches. Personnel have good customer service. The food is affordable and delectable. Lots of wine selection.
I and my Co working interns went there for a farewell lunch and I can really say that their Barkada Deals are so delicious and you can really saved because if composes of six menus with 5 glass of drinks. We really enjoy their food, especially the tenderness of their pork ribs.
If you want to appreciate the architecture of this place, come at night. If you want to enjoy the food and service, come during daylight. The crews are busier ar night because more customers come to dine, so they'll take longer time to attend to you. Budgetwise, it's a bit pricey but serves what u pay for.

This place is awesome for all ages! A nice place to reminisce history, you can see here the monuments of our national heroes like Andres Bonifacio, et al. You can jog, walk and see the beautiful plants, trees and flowers surrounding the plaza.
A place rich in Cebu's history, a smaller version of Manila's Intramuros. A must visit to appreciate the past.
The place is great, the atmosphere is very refreshing and the greens are pleasing to the eyes but under the scorching sun, you can only squat at the ground and shade from the trees.
Kid's playground has not been open for years now since they can't do simple proper maintenance on it.
Or it could be that they just don't want to constantly clean the place up after the kids have finished playing on 'em.
It was calm and quiet when we got there. The place will close at 10:00 PM. You can park your motorcycle inside, near the benches. There are lights since it is the Christmas season. Good place to hang out with your loved one.
It was a perfect place for family bonding ever since. I’ve witnessed its transformation since I was a kid and now that I have a kid. Not all of its story were great but all are worth it. This place is somehow the heart of the City or of Cebu (for me). It carries so much memories to everyone either locals or foreigners.

The Rizal Memorial Library & Museum Building stands out along Osmena Boulevard with its Neoclassical design, a pre-World War II heritage site dedicated to Jose Rizal. The building is home to the Cebu City Public Library and Museum, which is open 24/7 and offers free entrance to the public. The museum houses numerous paintings, sculptures, chinaware, furniture, woodcarvings, and archaeological finds.
Lovely American-Era architecture. The Library is just below the Cebu Provincial Museum. It is a very good place to read books about the history of Cebu and the Visayas in general. A must-see is their collection of Filipiniana books. Lovely. And it is fully airconditioned too.

We went there to see the museum but few are only displayed because they will have an exhibit. The guard is accommodating but Im not glad with the welcoming staff not sure but i feel they are not approachable. Glad that one of the library staff helped my cousin find some books. Hope they have more space to display the arts so that we can see them all.
The place is nice, but it lacks charging area. Water bottles aren't allowed and that makes it more annoying because if you want to drink water, you need to go back to the baggage area to get some water. But overall it's nice and cold so you might want to bring jacket or so. For now, I'll rate it 3 stars.

The first things you looked at this place is huge, plus the attraction of good looking elders and their beautiful female foreigners sisters. Their background its very nice and great place and for those who want to visit and for sight seing around still good, they have group rooms if you want to stay-in, but they have a price and enexpensive and affordable but good for their members only, their belongings and material has made in high standard quality, very tough and strong congregations, and i think in speaking of building materials it can be no any stronger than its foundation. So i give it 4....
It is the best place in Cebu. The transcendent beauty of the edifice sync harmoniously with the wondrous scenery of the place. The Temple is like a castle built meticulously with perfect geometry upon a hill that is adorned with nature’s best possible Cebu landscape. The plants, flowers, and trees are well-groomed and you can savor the fresh air it offers. I love going here after work because it gives both inner and outer peace.

SM City Cebu is a sprawling shopping center located near Capitol, Ayala Shopping Mall, downtown, and Fuente Osmena. The four-story complex houses a department store, supermarket, over 500 shops and restaurants, cinemas (including an IMAX theatre), and a computerized bowling center.
You can't get any fresher than live seafood older what you want. And they cook it right then. The best and freshest oysters that I have ever had.

Well, it’s believed that this is the first SM mall in Cebu City. We visited it on our last day of our trip, and it’s quite accessible because they have a Travellers Lounge where we could store our luggage. Additionally, the bus to the airport is just nearby.
While we were waiting, we explored the mall and checked out the different tenants. We found quite a variety of shops and restaurants. Their food hall is aesthetically pleasing, and we decided to have lunch at Zubuchon. The food was delicious!
After lunch, we indulged in some pampering. Jay got a foot spa, and I had my lashes done at Stylash. I loved it!
The mall’s building is a mix of old and new. Some parts are still the original SM, while others have undergone renovations.
Overall, it was a great experience. :)

SM City Cebu, known as the first SM Mall outside the Luzon Island is a old but now renovated and modernized mall.
Full of high quality stores, restaurants, and services in high quality designed to keep you entertained and satisfied.
Yes even though there are other SM Malls that are better one of its advantages is that it has a Travelers lounge. Which is a benefit and the reason why I visited this place first during my second visit.
And many stores are set to open here making SM more luxurious and more convenient. Rather a great place to visit for shopping and exploring.
The renovations are making it even more worth it to visit. Much better experience than 10 years ago.
Update: Even more renovations have helped modernize the mall, making it much nicer than before. The many new stalls help with traveling with friends as well as socializing. Air conditioning here is also great, and the construction smell has died down.

An excellent mall in a very busy location. It is the main mall at Cebu IT Park and at Ayala Malls CENTRAL Bloc, you can shop for almost anything. From groceries to books to fashion, they have it. The mall has a cinema as well. For food, they have a well-curated list of options. From samgyupsal to Unlimited Chicken to favorite fastfood joints to Korean/Asian themed restaurants.
The best thing about it also is that the mall is close to offices and right Cross, is one of Cebu’s best passenger terminals buses to Take you across different areas in Metro Cebu.

The Ayala Mall here is quite large—it has a cinema and a supermarket, and what's really unique is that you actually have to walk through the underground parking area to get to the supermarket. There's also a food court, home goods section, and a some selection of souvenirs and everyday items. The overall environment is very pleasant, and you can find almost everything you need here. Planning to come on the last day of your trip to shop and wander around is the right choice.

The place is good. I love their food too. However they need to have a system on entry PLUS their service is quite slow. The pool have restrictions yet not strict. In kids' pool, a kid just 💩 because he was not wearing any diaper. I wish they made it really clear to only allow children to wear proper attire. And there should be a proper system of getting tickets upon entry rather than letting everyone queue up waiting for their turn. But I still love their place. The improvements that they made since the last I went there way back 2019. It is still a greta place for kids.
We only had two weeks of vacation, so I carefully planned and arranged all our hotel stays and activities to make the most of our short time. This was the last hotel and resort I booked before heading back to the U.S.
I’ve previously stayed at places like Waterfront, Sheraton, Radisson Blu, Slam’s Garden Resort in Malapascua, and Cabana Beach Club in Moalboal—and never once did I encounter accommodation issues. Those hotels and resorts provided the quality service and comfort I paid for. Unfortunately, this place failed to do the same.
Despite repeatedly requesting a room on a lower floor due to traveling with senior parents and having several pieces of luggage and we will be staying for 3 days (as this was our final stop before flying home), we were assigned to a room on the third floor—with no elevator. I explained the situation multiple times, yet the staff made no effort to accommodate us. Instead, they were quick to suggest paying extra for a room change.
It was incredibly disappointing to experience such insensitivity from the receptionist—by far the worst front desk service I’ve encountered. At all the other hotels, I was always informed of our room location beforehand, and staff made sure it was suitable. That was not the case here.
In the end, I had no choice but to pay additional fees just to move my parents to a lower floor for their comfort. The only bright spot was the helpful luggage staff and the nice pool area, which gave us a bit of joy as we wrapped up our vacation as a family. That alone is the reason I’m giving this place any stars at all.
Place is great for children but amenities is quite old. We purchased a day use only. Got their pavilion cottage for 2000 pesos hoping for a great room service but not that great. It has a tv but no remote and told us it’s broken. The sliding door is too hard to open and close. Just fair service.
This place is ideal for families, especially those with kids, since the deepest pool is only 4 ft. Their themed pools are cool. However, the staff weren’t very accommodating during my stay and cleanliness is not much observed in the resort. Overall, it’s a fun spot to visit with family, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a couple’s staycation.

This resort isn't the best choice if you're looking for a relaxing stay, especially with kids. The rooms are definitely not soundproof, and noise can be a big issue. We experienced loud drinking sessions from the nearby room that went past midnight, making it hard to sleep. Not ideal for families or those seeking a peaceful getaway.
(Our stay was at their exclusive rooms) Let's start with their rooms. Their rooms are nice, cold, and have comfortable beds. They also have a smart tv with yt and netflix. Their aircon remote doesnt really work in our room, i dont know why. The keycards they gave to use for our room didn't work so we had to call them to get switched (which they did asap). Their hairdryer in the cr was pretty ew tho. When i held it, it was sticky and it seemed to have a yellow stain on it. Luckily, no one used it in our room. Then there's the walls. The walls are definitely not soundproof. We could hear the people next door especially whenever they move a chair or something drops that make a loud sounds in their room. Atleast it's not to the point where we could hear people's tv or voices.
And now their services. Their services are good overall. The only thing is that they dont call you to dish out your plates and stuff in your rooms. They should call to ask to dish out. Then also, if you have complementary water for your rooms. They should give you without asking. (We had complementary water in a bottle, but some of us didnt know so they couldn't receive it). And also, i tried looking for a menu online and in our room but there was none, so we had to call them for a menu. But all they did was let us take a picture of the menu, so i think its alright. Thats basically it for service.
And for location, there's no problem. Theres even a bar connected to the place if you want to have fun.
We recently visited cebu westown lagoon expecting a relaxing getaway, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. From the moment we arrived, the staff's unwelcoming demeanor set the tone for the rest of our stay. What really stood out was when they repeatedly emphasized the cut-off time, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome.
Despite this, we tried to make the most of our time at the resort. However, the initial impression lingered throughout our visit. If the staff could work on providing a warmer welcome and more hospitality, it would greatly enhance the overall experience for guests.

When entering the room they served coffee, it would be good if they have option like choco or milk since not everyone is drink8ng coffee. But overall the place is very nice and cozy. You got your TV with limited channels like 5 channels only.

Nice hotel in a good location - unfortunately my experience was ruined at checkout 😕 I spent 18000php staying at this place but when I went to leave they produced an unwashed pillow case with a 4mm diameter stain on it and demanded I pay 1300php . No idea why they would do this but the entire experience was ruined by an obvious scam . The staff looked embarrassed to be involved in this kind of con and I felt sorry that an otherwise pleasant stay was spoiled . Obviously I paid without serious arguments because it's not really a big deal but it is dishonest and something that might convince others to stay away from this place . Very disappointing 😞
The hotel is in a fantastic location, with plenty of shops nearby and easy access to public transportation, making it a great base for exploring the area.
The rates are very reasonable, especially considering the central location. They also have promo rates for walk-ins or if you book with them directly.
However, I do hope they do better with cleanliness as the room I was in had baby flies in the bathroom.
While the basic amenities are provided, the cleanliness could use some improvement, as it didn't meet expectations in some areas.

The area around the hotel is super dodgy. There’s some shady people down from the hotel and in general the street is unsafe. The staff was also rude and didn’t accommodate my request for a blanket. Not really hot water in bathroom and sheets stained in some places. Cannot recommend !
This is and idea bed if you have two kids and one adult, or two adults and one kids. If you want to stay and save your money then fine but for me I would not stay there again. The hotel is quite new. The place is located a bit near the IT Park and establishments. The lobby is small yet stylish and clean. The hallways are modernly designed. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The room is surprisingly spacious for it’s price. The design is simple yet accented with wooden design. The shower is a downside. I went to the HP service center and will be back there again in a couple of weeks. Mango SQ used to be the place to go to for a great evening drinking and socializing, but since the city decided to "clean it up" it's not as much fun.
The mall houses a variety of tenants. There are shops, salon and offices. The building is a bit decrepit though and needs a more modern touch.

There is no lift. Which hotel today doesnt have elevators. They offered to carry our bags up though. There's a kettle in the room but no coffee or tea. You have to buy this from the reception. We were told that it was recently renovated but doesn't look so. Rooms look dull and dark. We didn't even stay, checked out and left right away, lost our money. Definitely not recommended for family.
I knew this was a budget hotel, but I think it was a bit too budget for my tastes. Room didn't have any hand soap for the bathroom sink. Soap dispenser for shower was broken and empty. The bed didn't have a proper blanket, just a thin sheet. One body towel was provided, no hand towel. And the room had the tiny microscopic ants that are so common in the Philippines. Breakfast was a typical Filipino silog breakfast - white rice, one egg, and meat.
Stayed 5 nights at this hotel after being influenced by the positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. First, we had to wait for our room to be ready, and when we finally got in, we noticed the bed sheets and pillowcases weren’t fresh(visible stains) 🤮. We called the staff to have them changed, but they told us they couldn’t because there were no fresh linens available. It was pretty disappointing and definitely not what we expected. They told us they’d change the linens in the next day, so we left for a tour. When we returned, however, the bed still hadn’t been fixed. It was incredibly frustrating that they didn’t follow through on their promise, especially after we had already informed them about the issue.
Additionally, the hotel lacks an elevator, which made it inconvenient for us to carry our luggage up to the room. The water supply was also very low, and it was difficult to enjoy a proper shower.
The breakfast was disappointing, offering very little variety and poor quality.
Based on our experience, we strongly recommend taking the negative reviews seriously and looking for alternative accommodations.
DO NOT get the rooms outside the lobby. The room was full of bugs and found a mouse under the mattress. After the staff removed it, they didnt change the sheets. Had to immediately leave the hotel.

There's no lift or elevator in the building but the staff will carry the luggage for you.
Hot and cold filtered water is on every floor.
Has TV, phone and room is air-conditioned.
Complimentary simple breakfast provided.
Reception and Gated entrance is manned 24/7.
Location is safe (even at night) and within walking distance to fast food outlets, pharmacy, money exchange and Robinson shopping centre.
The bed linen is off white but clean (can't be too choosy for the price you pay).
Stayed 3 days, the first 2 days water pressure was low .
Taxis are plentiful at any time.
My previous stay was room 102 for 2 people very spacious.
If you want more, go to a 5 star hotel. Enjoy!
Me and my wife stayed here for 2 days and 1 night for a business matter. We honestly love how clean the room is, how tucked the bedsheets, and how big our room was. the bathroom was also clean. for a budget hotel, it's worth the price. It's our second time staying here.

The location is very ideal because it's near places that can give you your necessities such as restaurants, malls, banks etc.

Very clean room. Good WiFi. Nothing in room except a bed. Shared bathroom. Limited bathroom and toilets. A no toiletries. Need to pay for drinking water. Overall good value for money in that vicinity. But maybe good to stay a bit further and take jeepney to town is u are going to stay a few days.

You could go here if you want a cheap stay in the city center and have no other hostel choices.
The hostel of my choice was fully booked so as this is conveniently located in Fuente - which is near my dentist and a ride to SM Seaside, the location was good.
I was supposed to stay at a one-person bunk, but since the fan wasn't on good condition, I got upgraded to a two-person one - lucky me - more space. Check-in and check-out was easy.
The bed was good and the room was big. No canteen or place to eat though, as it was "for renovation." It was kind of a bit creepy though as the other rooms are not lit - and it's a long way to the common bathroom. The bathroom is not spot on super clean, but bearable. Just don't like the feeling of a big space with only a few people.
But, I think I won't be staying here again.
Citi Circle is very affordable and is in the heart of the city. Since it's a backpacker hostel, comfort rooms are common outside the rooms. We used the dormitory type and. The room is very small with 3 double decks. Hot and cold water is free from their kitchen. There is one common living room just beside the Information Counter where you can watch television. There are tables and chairs provided if you want to dine with your take-out foods from outside. Elevator is also provided. You can find lot of foreigners in the hostel also who are booked usually in the capsule rooms.
The room rate as of Dec 2018 is 995/day for a double bed with own bath the following are my honest review:
Positive:
1.location : very accessible and malls and resto are just a walk away. if you are looking for a convenient place to stay after touring the city it is a good spot.
2. transportation: accessibility leading to variety of transpo to choose from depending on ur budget ( taxi, jeep, free shuttle)
3. Clean: no bugs of all types and it is physically clean.
4. Cool: as in aircon is functioning well and not noisy
Adverse:
1. Smell: the room may be clean but it smells bad like septic tank bad.
2. Amenities:
a. it has tv yes, but no remote and no cable its like a wall decor.
b. no window. no tv + no window is like being in a facility. Mobile phone is a must to keep your insanity intact specially if you are alone.
b. no towels
c. no tables and chair (no eating and drinking allowed corkage charge of 1,500 )
Overall: we had a good sleep (you will get used to the smell), and we are able to go around cebu with a minimal transpo cost (jeep only or walking).
My friends& I visited our supervisor who was admitted in Cebu Doc & realized we have to catch up with our sleep time so we stayed here. I initially went for the good for 2 pax room but felt 'claustrophobic' when I got in because the room was very tiny and it didnt have any table or chairs or windows or TV plus the bathroom was shared and outside of our room. Went w/ their deluxe room good for 2pax & paid a total of P1,195; it was P200 for having an extra person in the room. YES, THEY ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS! 😁

It is affordable, like having a bedspace that is closed but limited privacy as the curtains can easily be opened, good wifi, shared bathroom didnt give me.much issue as there werent many.people that time, towel is p30, good at 22 hrs stay for p346, suggest they include it in their details.

1st thing that'll meet you is their colorful set up. Twas amazing for me since their hostel is in the interior area of Lahug-JY location - it changes your mood. 😊
I was able to use their shared room and it really smelled good. I was the first one there though. Your random room mates would be a great factor in keeping the room smelling good. 🤣
There were only 2 ports though where i could charge my stuff; that's where my 3-metre wire came in handy.
The restrooms are "common" for some accommodation ls though but at least they mentioned it prior to booking. But though its common, its really clean. Well-maintained. But since its being shared, i expected for it not to be spotless every minute or everytime i use it. But most of the time, twas clean.
Their staff's nice. Noticed it when i apologized for talking generally in english when i realized that they all spoke in Tagalog - one staff person smiled and said its ok, then struck a conversation with me about how they noticed that cebuanos arent really fond of the said dialect. [For the life of me, dunno why that local dialect really freezes my tongue.]
Going back.
They also have 2 areas where you can just 'chill', aside from the receiving area. One area's open [possibly for those who smoke] while the other one's more 'covered', has a 'hanging single couch' and a mini-sofa with pillows.
Value for money and comf'tability = 👌👏👍
I felt i paid lesser compared to the comfort that i experienced. Thus, 5stars for me.

Great choice for the budget traveller. It's close to almost everything a tourist would want to visit—restaurants, sites, malls. And the staff were nice. Although they only provided one towel and one blanket for a bed that was clearly for two. And it was really noisy at around early morning to the point that we can't go back to sleep. I don't know if those were guests, the staff, or neighbors. But guessing from their language, I think maybe the staff or neighbors. The room we used could get a little more cleaning and polishing to make it look as brand new as the pictures they provided.
I went to that hostel because the good score, I didn't like it. Didn't get any hostel vibe, the room and the bathroom it was too dirty. My window was directly to the backyard where the staff was making noise and talking way too loud until 2am! I didn't like the spot either, any good restaurants around ( I read on the other opinions there where good restaurants around, I asked the staff and they didn't recommend me anything).
Budget friendly. Has rooms for 2, 4 or 6 -(mixed, dorm type). Toilet and bath is common. They don't serve food and drinks but there are quite a number of restaurants in its 500 meter radius! Parking is outside, along the street and your can be towed at night by the strict city traffic people.
Service was good. Staffs were friendly but price is more expensive than what you'll get. Rooms are big though. But photos they have are way far from the actual. But what I love is the internet connection.
Good for family or group. They have clean rooms with complete amenities. It situated in lahug so travelling with Cebu is easy. They also provide every guest a quick guide sheet in Cebu.

Too complicated to go to it’s surrounded by busy roads
It’s right in the middle of an intersection with very limited space, would recommend to park at the Cebu Monument and walk here (only 5 minutes walk). It’s also a busy intersection so crossing might be a bit challenging. But the street is small, so taking picture could be done from the sidewalk and no need to cross unless you want to see the writing on the obelisk.
One of the best icon figures in Cebu. It is a nice place to roam around with friends, family, or with your significant other since behind the Obelisk itself is the Carbon Market where a lot of delicious foods were served as well. The only thing I am concerned about here is a lot of trash to be seen within the establishment.
The actual street has no resemblance to what it was. Wasting money on a monument when the street you are referring too is dirty and filthy is really stupid.

I didn't expect too much because I booked the hostel online and they had limited pictures to show. But I was happy with the place. The reception area is at the 2nd floor because there are two hotels in one building.
The staffs at the hostel were friendly, polite, and very helpful.
The room rates are affordable especially when booking online or in advance. The room we stayed was clean and well-organized.
Overall experience 9/10 for a budget hostel.
I would stay there again and would recommend this to other travelers.
The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We booked a room at 10pm with no problems. There were lots of backpackers when we went there. The internet signal did not reach our room, which explains why we saw a couple of people in the lobby area on each floor.
The beds are okay. We had enough power outlets to charge our gadgets. There was an extra bed in the room we booked. I'm not sure why it was there. It took up some space in the room, but not to the point where it was uncomfortable.
I'm not sure why we weren't provided towels for bathing. Probably because we booked late in the evening on such short notice.
Overall, the stay was okay. We were just a few minutes away from the I.T. park. So it's a good option if all the hotels are booked in the I.T. park area.
We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and comfy. The front desk was very accommodating and even gave us a guide of the places to go to nearby the hostel. We didn't get to go to all of them due to our short trip. The hostel's location is near IT park and JY Mall and La Vie Parissiene.

I was staying in this hostel few days ago with my friend. We are both travelers and we are used to many problems, but this hostel was one of the worst hotels we've ever been. Rooms are damp, full of rot and smelly. The bathrooms are in terrible condition. I saw two of their rooms, because in the first one they gave us there was some animal runnig around. I hope it was just a mouse, but I wouldnt be suprised if it was something worst. Inoperative sockets.
I certainly do not recommend this accommodation. At Cebu there are lots of beautiful places where you can stay, so look elsewhere!
I booked a dorm room so we were 12 in the room with six bunk beds. This is quite the value for the price considering there are a lot of people to share the room with. I booked it last minute. So this is perfect for spontaneous trips and quick resting place.
Its very affordable... if you intend to leave your things and sleep only this is à perfect place. Upon checking-in the front desk will give you information and map what to do and the activity in cebu. They will help you what your intention in the place and guide you on what you will do. The place is accessible to malls however I asked for a one big bed but they gave me 2 twin beds. The facility is quiet old, refrigerator is not working.

Very cosy hostel. Its clean, has got Aircon and lockers. Showers are in the rooms. There is no street on the maps but its there and at the very end. Need deposit for lockers 100PHP - which you will get back. Lockers fit small bags.

Sorry, but no. It’s dirty and cramped. The people living there are long-term so it’s disgusting. Club outside and very loud. People are constantly turning on the lights and they are bright. For the same price you can stay at a decent place nearby. The moment I arrived I contemplated leaving and finding a different place. The only upside here is that towels are provided. I never felt so sad spending 400 pesos before today. Do not stay here. FOR LOCALS ONLY
