Great neighborhood pub offering excellent craft beers from Portugal and abroad. I enjoyed drinking my brew in the small courtyard in the back of the pub. They give you a token to keep a tab open. Nice selection of cans and bottles are also available. Worth the visit when the girls are shopping! :)

Awesome selection of beers. Personally feel the prices are a bit high for some of the drinks you can buy but it's a good vibe place, environment and feel about the place!

Nice craft beer bar. The only food on offer was bacon paninis but they were very good (and that's coming from a Brit who isn't normally keen on how bacon is cooked outside the UK!). Very chilled vibe and even had young children in the bar at 10pm! No queues at the bar and a good selection of beers to choose from

Nice little craft beer bar this. 10+ taps of quality craft beer, good range of sour, lager, weiss, stout etc. Lots of different countries too. And loads of cans in the fridge too. Comfy seating. The decor is a bit rough and ready but it's nice, and there's a small outdoor patio too. Staff are super nice. Lovely place.

This is a very chill place to have craft beer. They only have 7 taps, but they have a variety of bottled and can beers for you to buy. They have a stacked fridge and also room temperature stacked shelves with a variety of beers to take home. They have a small food menu, but they encourage you to have food delivered there. They also have an assortment of board games that you can play while you enjoy lovely craft beer! The music is great! And the staff friendly

Nice and comfy place to spend some time with a few or some friends, there is a lot of different beers to try. The number 1 from the house is affordable and tasty. There is also a little open space at the backyard, an acoustic guitar and some games if you want to play. Friendly staff!

Good. Beer. Green space. This is perfect. We've hunted all over Porto to find good beer and yes, it's all right here. The kitchen doesn't get enough credit. Japanese fusion grilling. Everything we tried was fantastic! Can't wait to come back. Love from Canada!

Out of al the bars I visited in Porto, this was without doubt the best one! The person working there during my visit was absolutely brilliant, had lots of knowledge and was great to talk to. Out of all the pubs I've been to around the world, this got to be one of my best experiences yet! Great selection of beers and very cozy. Even had a beer garden on the top floor but didn't visit unfortunately. I promised to revisit before my departure but didn't manage which was really sad, I will surely come back next time I'm in Porto. If you happen to be in the city, I hardly recommend a visit here if you are into craft beers, great atmosphere and friendly staff!

I've visited catraio several times as it is located on my neighborhood and I was always met with people that wanted to make my visit the best experience possible either by suggesting the beer I should try or by having diverse food popups. Sometimes they also host meetups and it's always very fun to meet new people on their beer garden. They also have a inside room if you are feeling cold.

Cracking craft beer place frequented by locals and savvy tourists. Super helpful bar staff with making beer choices and also recommendations of where to go. Go here if you want to experience something away from the main tourist areas All the guys spoke perfect English which is hugely appreciated by an English man and his attempts at a little Portuguese. You guys rock!! P.s. lovely beer garden upstairs and the food looked pukka!

A great spot in Porto! Has a beautiful grape vine covered roof terrace. Drinks were delicious and had the chicken wings which were great.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I stopped by on Friday, there was a DJ at the counter, the atmosphere was lively. Then I decided to come the next day, Saturday, there was no DJ and everything was kind of boring. Otherwise, the rooftop garden and beer are great, and that's why this place gets the maximum from me.

This is a laid back place to have a Francescina and some good beer. Personally, I like mine better without the ham. We sat outside in the back and it was nice.

The well-balanced flavor, quality ingredients, and the mildly spicy sauce (don’t let the name fool you; it’s pleasantly mild) combine perfectly to create a delicious and satisfying snack. Pair this with a beer and some appetizers, and you’re set for an enjoyable lunch or dinner. From my experience, one cachorrinho per person might leave you wanting more - but don’t worry, the fantastic staff will gladly keep them coming. Service isn’t the fastest, but the friendliness and atmosphere more than compensate, making Fábrica da Picaria a reliably great choice.

An absolutely amazing beer, with a great staff and a cool vibe with the vats for the beer fermentation displayed on the main room. Nice terrace behind as well. Board game nights on Tuesdays with a lot of fun! Recommend you to try the Tropical IPA. Made with passion fruit, mango and pineapple! It doesn’t mean that you’re drinking a tropical punch, but rather a very bitter beer (like the best IPAs are) but with a twist in the end, where those flavours stick to your palate. Heads up to Helena! She shows a tough façade, but is one of the loveliest person I’ve met in Portugal!

The beer and food are really good. We were brought here on a food tour and came back a few days later for more beer and food. Highly suggest this place.

What every bar in East London wishes it could be, and for a fraction of the price and without the pretence. Beer and drinking snacks done to perfection. A hidden terrace in the back, super relaxed vibes. If only they had live music...

Nice selection of Artesian Beers. Worth the visit if you are a beer lover as it hard to find anything other than Super Bock elsewhere. We sat outside on the street which was nice and quiet.

Honestly here, I am quite disappointed because of the cold bun , low quality potatoes, fried too much and they forgot about the olive salsa and cutlery . Also on the menu it says chickpeas vegan burger, but it tasted everything else, besides chickpeas.. I was very impressed about the Ipa beer, very very good taste 👅, also found a lovely staff member who was very nice, the rest of staff seem really annoyed with their work. Overall, I will come back for the beer, not recommending the vegan burger 🍔, sorry 😔

Great craft beer place with sunset view. Had burgers and fried pigs ear. The pigs ear was interesting but probably not for everyone's taste. It had a nice smokey coating.

The food and the beer are fantastic and it’s one of our favorite spots in Porto. We were there today and they had a special carnaval menu that had one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. SANDES DE MORTADELA, QUEIJO E MOSTARDA is so good we came back later and split another one. It’s crazy good.

Staff were good and knew their beers, very helpful. Seating area outside has some good views and is nice and shaded by London Lime Trees, very nice in the afternoon sun.

We had drinks here for the first time on Saturday just as they opened. We were immediately greeted with smiles by the owners, Dennis and Suzy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the music was good; not too loud. Pretty quickly, more people came and had a great time like we did. They also had a Hawaiian hot dog food pop-up which was delicious. Highly recommend!

Lovely small bar with excellent manageable choice of craft beer and also great Budvar on tap - my favourite. Loads of cans in the fridge too! No score for food - i did not have any, but they gave me some tasty corn nibbles. Highly recommended 👍🏻

Great place to grab a beer. Nice mix of classic and experimental beers. Had a huge selection of beers in the fridge and several on tap. Also had a good selection of gluten free options. The owner was very friendly. The environment was comfortable. If I am in Porto again, I will definitely go back here.

We had a fabulous time here! The music was spot on (from Vampire weekend to Future islands). The hosts were friendly and gave a great reccomendation for a Portugese sour. The vibes were great and they are dog friendly! We hope to come again :)

Really nice friendly brewery taproom. Some great beers and the barman explained every drink and offered a sample of each without prompting. It wasn't very busy when I first walked in early evening but quickly filled up. Almost all of the beers are brewed on site and you even had to walk through the brewing room to go to the toilet. If you love your beers it's a great place to go, and has a selection for everyone, non generic lagers, ales and stout, including also a nice and light Belgian witbeer. I left happy!

The best beer is IPA. I wish they had more, but the one they have is good. I will say, their stout was delicious. I've been in Porto a few days and I have been here twice already. Service is extremely friendly and the clientele is very chill too. A key visit in the Porto Craft beer scene.

This is a fantastic little bar out from the centre of porto. The gent who runs it is a great barkeep very attentive,friendly, and chatty with passion, and knowledge of his business. The place has real laid back casual and rustic astetic but such a warm, friendly welcoming feel. Its right up there with the greatestbars to visit in Europe. in my humble opinion.

Slightly off the beaten track but well worth coming here. Great selection of beer brewed on premise, including a great Wheat beer. And the bonus is an eclectic choice of music from the Beastie Boys to The Clash. Recommended.

Great place with awesome environment. Pet friendly with two gorgeous golden retrievers, best craft beer with labels from different nationalities and tasty food to keep the conversation flowing, sometimes they offer co-labs for even better food. For Americans used to the craft beer scene in the US, most of what Portugal’s craft beer scene has to offer can be hit or miss - mostly miss imo. Not this beer bar/contract brewery. Great lineup of styles that lean hoppy and hazy. One of the best taplists I’ve seen in Portugal. And big dog energy too.

Best place in Matosinhos - food, beer, atmosphere, the dogs… You will not find any other place like this in whole Oporto!

We were looking for a place to have a quick drink before we went for dinner and this place happened to be nearby. So we decided to give it a go and was not disappointed with the experience. The bartender gave samples of beer for tasting as I wasn't sure what to go with. The sheer variety of choices made that decision difficult but the samples gave me a good idea what to go with. In conclusion, the beer was good and the American craft beerplace vibe is on point.

This was an enjoyable visit although quite loud while we were there. The young bartender/waitress was working very hard to cope with quite a demanding crowd but remained calm, pleasant and helpful. Excellent choice of Belgian beers prices acceptable given the huge choice.

The barkeeper was so nice, helped me find my favorite beer 😍 We had such a nice conversation and the atmosphere was good although it was not crowded because they just opened, we didn’t try the food but overall experience was very good if you like beer 🍻

Unfriendly Belgian beer bar. When I enquired about the beer measure, I was fobbed off with some bs about not having the right size glasses and the head will eventually settle to the right amount. Not a nice experience.

Great place for beer tasting in Porto. They have around 6 Belgian beers on tap and many other bottled beers from around the world. Seating available is booths as well as a bar counter. Gulden Draak Classic is the most popular and a very nice one to try. I also had the Gulden Draak Witbier on tap which was enjoyable. The bar and service was good and prices are reasonable for the beers - considering the quality. It also has 2 large screens for sports for events on TV.

Cask Beer Now offers a great selection of craft beers, with plenty of variety to suit different tastes. It’s definitely a spot for beer lovers to explore. The food menu, however, is mostly deep-fried snacks — fine for accompanying drinks, but not the highlight. Some reviews suggest the food is amazing, but in reality it feels more like casual bar food than a dining experience, which is fine and expected. Still, it’s worth a visit for the beer selection and relaxed vibe if you’re in the area.

This is a great little bar. It is hidden away and the frontage is unassuming. Inside the bar is on two levels. The bar and some seating on the lower level with more tables and comfortable seating up a short flight of steps. The place is decorated in a goth style. The beer choice is very good served by smiling, helpful staff. This place is really worth seeking out for anyone who enjoys a glass or two of good ale.

Lovely taproom with a selection of local beers from Tough Love, Spain and the US. Wide variety of canned and bottled beers too. If you can't drink all of the selection of local beers on draft you can always buy a few of their cans at a decent price. Staff are more than friendly and knowledgeable about the beers too 👍😎🍺

I went to this brewery with my parents when we were on vacation and it was such an incredible find. The owner is so friendly and you can tell really loves the craft of brewing. As IPA lovers we were very impressed. A lot of the restaurants we went to had incredible food and pretty mediocre beer, but this place was a great find. If you're in Porto and tired of Super Bock this place is well worth the visit

Really nice place to have some traditional south brasilian sandwiches and tapas. The xis is amazing, I had never eaten it before, but it was worth it. And SO BIG! Beer is also nice and fresh. The service was great and super polite

Extremely expensive beer place… I go often to craft beer places and I was shocked with some of the prices here. It was more than in Barcelona 😨😱 They had like 10 different taps, but very high prices… there was a bier that the price was 7€ for half a pint, 12€ for a pint. Probably won’t return. Only tried the beers, have no clue on the food or snacks

Best craft beers in town! Loved the ginja sour especially. The food is great as well, they have a great chef that makes the best nigiri sushi I have ever tasted. I asked for 4 pieces and all four were different and excellent. Definitely will come back again and again.

We were headed to the beer bar next door and saw the brewery so decided to drop in here instead. Friendly bartender and they make some great New England IPAs. They don't have any of their own beers on tap right now but have a solid tap list. We enjoy checking out craft breweries in the US and this is a very similar experience.

Extremely overpriced beer! The ambient was ok, nothing special. The bartender had a "friendly" approach. Coming from a country with many craft breweries, the beer is extremely overpriced and nothing special. No wonder it was almost empty when we came here. I really don't recommend this place ..

This is a small Port winery established since 1890s with a lovely adjourning Vinum restaurant overlooking the beautiful city. All the wine making and corking process is still being performed traditionally by hand. The port tasting was interesting as I tasted rich and sweet to nutty and smooth (my first time). The dinner was gastronomical (grilled sausages, crispy pork belly, wine pairing, etc.). 😋

Graham’s winery was amazing! The small museum is very interesting, and our guide was excellent, fluent in English and shared lots of fascinating details. The port wine tasting was great as well. Portions for the food pairings could be a bit bigger, but overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

We visited for a late-morning pre-booked English tour & tasting. We walked from Porto, which was all fine until we started to climb to Graham's - it was a challenging walk on the roads, with very teeny tiny shoulders! We arrived with only a few minutes to spare for our scheduled tour time. The exterior grounds and view are GORGEOUS - absolutely spectacular. If I had realized they were that nice I likely would have just had a drink on the terrace to soak it all in. However, the tour was mostly interesting; longer and more detailed than I had anticipated it being. I'm glad we did it, though I don't remember any of the information provided now. I think we had the misfortune of being in a tour group with some rather pretentious types; I felt a little bad for the tour guide (who was very friendly) as some of the guests seemed to be peppering her with some snooty-seeming (to me) questions. Maybe it was just a handful of bougie travellers, I don't know. The tour was followed by a tasting in a large, open room; we just did the basic tasting of 3 ports (I'm not a Port person, but the LBV was good) but I noticed others likely purchased one of the upgraded experiences with tasting items, etc. That part was mostly left on our own to taste, after the guide explained things, which I liked. We walked through the shop at the end, took another look around the beautiful landscaping and terrace, and hopped on an Uber back to our next destination!

We enjoyed the wine tasting tour very much. Learned a lot about port wine and I liked the 20 year tawny wine the best among the three offerings. The view outside is spectacular!

Went here at open and everyone was super accommodating and nice. Did a tasting and bought lots of goodies at the gift shop. The shop is fully stocked with amazing stuff at great prices.

The views are the best of any port winery in the city and the tasting rooms are very nice. I just wish I’d skipped the “premium” tasting (the “six grapes” blend was horrible) and cheese “pairing” (quite bad) in favor of the nicer tasting options.

It’s a huge market that has everything from meat, fish, wine, and souvenirs to artist market. It’s directly connected to the train station so you can access it quite easily. It definitely has an element of tourist trap with certain dishes and goods, but I also saw plenty of locals simply grocery shopping. I personally loved the seafood and the ham. They also have insanely cheap glasses of wine so be careful if you’re going to be drinking! But it’s a must visit place for me in Porto

Mercado do Bolhão is one of the highlights of Porto and a must-visit if you want to experience the city’s flavours in one place. The market is spotless, beautifully restored, and full of life. From the moment you step inside, you are surrounded by stalls offering fresh fish, fragrant olives, local olive oils, fresh fruit, fruit juices, meats, and brilliantly packed sardines that make perfect gifts. We purchased some olives and a bottle of white wine and enjoyed them right there in the market. Walking around with a glass of crisp wine while tasting the olives and chatting with vendors felt both authentic and relaxing. The fishmongers and food stalls are a delight to explore, and you will also find stores selling handicrafts, so it really has a little bit of everything. What stood out most to me was the balance between tradition and modern comfort. You get the energy of a traditional Portuguese market, but in a clean, organised, and welcoming space. Whether you come to taste, shop, or just soak in the atmosphere, Mercado do Bolhão is worth your time.

Situated very close to Bolhao metro station, this place is on the itinerary of every tourist. It is the ideal place to pick up souvenirs of porto, wine, olive oil, candied fruits and cute tiny boxes of sardines. There are food stalls selling freshly made snacks, vegetable vendors selling out of season fruits and vegetables, plant nursery stalls, and interesting looking chocolates packed in attractive boxes. A nice leisurely walk in the hall browsing through the goodies is enough to pass a couple of hours. There are restaurants on the top floor that stay open till late.

Sa e some time for a visit to this market. Stunning array of cured meets and seafood ready for tasting. Wine of course too. I had some of the largest oysters to eat. Easy to find and right off from the metro.

Good market, lots of food. Bought some souvenirs for the family here. For tourists(just like me) visiting, please be watchful of the closing time. Google says closing time is 8pm but when we got there at 7pm and everyone was already closed up. The restaurants on the top floor really does close around midnight so thats good. Had that pasta made in a cheese wheel. Best eaten warm.

Really great spot to see all of Portugals finest offerings under one roof. Port, wine, cheese, fish, sardines, fruit, vegetables! Much different than the one in Barcelona, so come expecting a smaller scale experience, but still very enjoyable

Mercado do Bolhão is one of the highlights of Porto and a must-visit place. Clean market thats sells fresh food. Top selling items are Porto's famous canned sardines, chocolate and off course Port Wine. Cheese is plenty, fresh produce. Very very clean premise.

We did the tour! The tour guide was dressed up as the wine label logo, which was fun! Able to sample three varieties at the end of the tour - not our favorite but still enjoyed the experience.

Visited Sandeman’s Port Cellar in Gaia recently—and wow, what a treat! The cellar sits right on the riverfront, so it’s easy to find and sets a lovely scene. We opted for the three port tastings. Our guide walked us through where all the barrels, casks and vintage bottles as stored along with the story of the timeless “Don,” and Sandeman’s 200-year legacy. The group was small, which made it feel relaxed and personal. Highly recommended—just be sure to book ahead! Whether you go for the quick visit or the aged-tawny indulgence, it's a classy experience with a side of story and scenery.

This is an amazing tour of one of the premium brands of ports. Though it was originally an English business it is now owned by the same company that makes Mateus rosé. Our guide through the seller was very knowledgeable and personable. Her ability to explain the process of making port and other fortified wines was wonderful. The tour itself takes you through the aging barrels and into a screening room where a video is played of the process. The tour ended in the sales roomwhere a tasting of the white port and a Tory port was provided. There was been an opportunity to purchase some of these fantastic ports. A wonderful tour of a great port maker in the city that made port famous.

The port tour and tasting here was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions in detail. The tasting consisted of five ports in a private room at the end of the tour which was a very nice touch. We’d highly recommend you try Sandeman’s for your port cellar and tasting tour!

The Sandeman 1790 tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Porto. It’s great value for money. The tour itself was really interesting and just the right length. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the small group size made the whole experience feel more personal. The best part was the tasting at the end in the private 1790 room. It’s a beautiful space and gives the whole experience an extra touch that you wouldn’t get in the regular tasting room. Highly recommend choosing this version of the tour.

Mostly locals so most menu weren’t in English. Thankful for pictures and most service stuff speaks English. We enjoyed the Bifana and suckling piglet, both served with chips, and of course coffee with 2 chocolate balls!

An amazing food court for whenever you want to eat. The selection of food here is amazing with an adjoining super market too. If you're not sure of what to eat, you will find something here. We liked the local bakery goods of the pasta del nata, had francesinha, enjoyed the cod as well as porto wine. Honestly a great place to eat different food.

Market is a great spot to try many different cuisines. Chill atmosphere and most people were super friendly. Our new friend Hugo at the bar gave us some great recommendations for places to go throughout the city!

It’s a less touristy version of Time Out Market, the atmosphere is modern and with lots more locals here. Here, you’ll find an endless parade of authentic Portuguese dishes, from flaky pastries and chocolate cakes to perfectly poured port, beers, and savoury petiscos. We dove straight into Mariscaria’s seafood platter: tender crab claws, plump shrimp, mussels in a fragrant broth, and that irresistible bread-and-crab-dip couvert. Every bite was fresh, briny, and generously portioned—yet the prices stayed very reasonable. Whether your group can’t agree on appetizers or everyone’s craving something different, this is the perfect spot to graze, share, and discover new favourites together. Visited on a Monday at 1pm, seems to be a fave lunch spot amongst office workers.

I had so much fun eating here. Fantastic food, atmosphere and team. Recommend sitting at the bar near the chef so you can watch him weave his magic. Icy cold beers with cheesy hot dogs and steak/ham/cheese/egg sandwiches. The best.

On our first day in Porto, we went to Gazela for lunch to try their famous cachorrinhos, and it definitely lived up to the hype. We paired them with a Super Bock and it was the perfect combo. The meal was really good and surprisingly filling. The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which was a pleasant surprise, and the cachorrinho itself was delicious with crispy, flavorful bread and just the right amount of sauce. We sat outside and there was a line the entire time, but the wait was only about 10 to 15 minutes and totally worth it. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Porto!

The atmosphere of the place was great. You can feel it as soon as you enter. The waiters helped me choose my order, which was the steak sandwich (11.5 euro) and the superbock beer(2.20 euro). I really liked it, except that the meat was not cooked the way I prefer — it was a bit undercooked for my taste.😊 The place was full when I arrived, and there was a line when I left. Sometimes you may need to wait 😇

I finally tried the famous cachorrinho at Gazela in Porto. While the hot dog was tasty, the rest of the meal didn’t quite live up to the hype—the fries were underwhelming, and the service was slow and inattentive. It took quite a while to be seated, served, and to pay the bill. Overall, it was an average experience, though the prices were fair for what you get.

The cachorrinhos were tasty, but nothing out of this world. I kind of fell for the hype around this place, so my expectations were quite high. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was great and laid-back. Perfect for a quick snack.

Dining at Cufra feels like stepping back into the 1990s—or even further. With over 50 years of history, it seems like not much has changed, from the décor to the way the waiters carry themselves. Their old-school charm and impeccable manners make the service feel almost romantic, a glimpse of a bygone era with a touch of glamour. When it comes to the food, however, it wasn’t quite for me. Everything was heavily overcooked, and while I understand that in such a huge, packed restaurant, it’s nearly impossible for the kitchen to cook everything fresh to order, it was still a challenge to enjoy. That said, all the locals seemed to love it, and the waiter was so proud to serve us, which made the experience feel special in its own way. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this experience, but now that I’ve had it, I wouldn’t feel the need to repeat it.

We stopped at this restaurant in avenida da Boavista for lunch. The francesinha with bife and camarão is overall good with an original flavor. I still prefer a more baked taste though. We also had grilled dourada with boiled potatoes: it was delicious but a little dry for my taste.

We went there to try iconic Francesinha. It was good and definitely you could feel the local atmosphere. No wow effect but worth trying. The French fries however were too soggy and we don’t recommend them - pick crisps. The staff was rude and irritating so it definitely ruined a bit the experience.

We had high hopes for this restaurant as it was recommended to us. But the food was disappointing. The franceshina was very chewy, could not even cut the meat. The Bacalhau was ok, slightly over for my taste, but the vegetables were really good. The staff was very helpful and polite. Excellent meal. The portion of the dish is sufficient for 2 person as described and the seafood is fresh. The waiter who served us could speak little English but his service is absolutely superb and very patient. However, I found the meal is a little pricy and I hope there could be more squids rather than having too much prawns.

This place is old school, its old 46 years . Most of my stars I am giving to the personal , that is amazing ! They are a real hospitality old school waiters with white shirts. Food is typical Portuguese where you can find from fish, meat to snacks like hot dog or prego sandwiches 🥪. I had franceshina sandwich 🥪, honestly I eat better. What I saw very fresh is this place is fresh shrimps. You can find a great list of deserts and ice creams. You will find only locals eating here since it’s far away from center and tourist. Great brew pub in Porto. If you are looking for craft beer in Portugal, definitely hit Nortada. The day I visited, they had 8 beers on tap and many different styles. I got a flight of four. My favorites were the IPA and the Belgian Quad. All the beers were solid. The beer scene in Portugal is still evolving, and Nortada is a good pioneer. If you are a beer drinker, hitting Nortada when you're in Porto is a must.

Decent enough beer, but don’t overstay your welcome!! It wasn’t overly busy, but being we didn’t want food, we were definitely rushed out…. What a shame!!! I’m sure there are other more welcoming breweries in Porto.

The service is what completely ruined the experience for us. The waiters who served and cleared our table were dismissive and borderline rude. One even made a comment in Portuguese along the lines of “He’s hungry” while taking my order. I understood what he said, as I know some Portuguese and my partner is Brazilian, so it came across as disrespectful. After finishing our meal, I asked another waiter for the dessert menu. He acknowledged me but never brought it, even after we waited 5–10 minutes. We even noticed him standing around, yet he still ignored us. The food itself was good. I particularly enjoyed the starter more than the main course. I had the pork belly, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. The main course wasn’t bad either. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting, which initially made us excited to try this place. Unfortunately, the extremely poor service from the staff has completely put us off returning. It’s a shame, because this could have been a great dining spot for us, and I would’ve loved to try the beers they had on offer. My suggestion would be for the staff to be much more attentive and proactive. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we visited, so there really wasn’t an excuse for the poor service we experienced.

We went to watch the Portugal v Croatia football ball and we got there early thinking it being a pub it would get crowded with energetic fans of the club. Not the case. This is the game where Ronaldo scored his 900th goal and I was the only one cheering when it happened. The service wasn’t great, we had to go to the bar a few times to order drinks and or food and was told we had to wait on our server at the table. After sitting a few more minutes the bartender eventually came over after seeing were weren’t being waited on and our first rounds were empty. We ordered food and it was average pub fare. We tried the Francesca here and the meat was tough. Certainly not the best we had tried and closer to the bottom. It is a classic Irish pub though, we always visit them in other countries and their food is closer to American food so we can eat some comfort food. They did have plenty of TV’s and I guess our expectations were high for the Portugal match. Maybe in Lisbon it would’ve been more fun.

A regular, touristic sort of pub, but it was the only place open late where you can get a decent cocktail and relax. Service was great, and our server knew her stuff. She even asked how I wanted my Sazerac. Signature cocktails are pretty midrange, but it's a pub after all and considering the night we had, it was nice to just sit and enjoy a drink where they actually tried to make it enjoyable. Classics were done very well by the bartender. Good selection of spirits. Decor creates a cool vintage atmosphere. Prices are a bit on the higher side but that's just the central, popular area.

Didn’t get to interact with bar staff much as it was slow and they were all chatting with each other, but the service was good. Update, never mind, service here is awful. The first time we came they ignored us and interacted with each other. Cam back on Sunday night, they said tables in back but were full. 4 open booths, said they’re reserved which was bs, you have to have 4+ people. We were told no where to sit but others got the booths. Crap service at bar. Cool atmosphere, terrible service. Just avoid.

The atmosphere was great and the service was very good. The air conditioning on the top floor felt incredible in the middle of summer. I got the Bonaparte and my husband got a beer. We also got the Potatoes Bravas (very average, could use more sauce). Overall great experience! Would definitely recommend the Bonaparte!

Such a cool moody vibe this bar has! Awesome music and very good atmosphere! The service was extremely nice! The food was okay, but the best part were the Potato Brava (you must try them)! Everything was super nice! Highly recommended!

We loved this wine, and visited twice in our six days in Porto. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about their wine. And the food, which we enjoyed on our second visit, was delicious too. It's quite small inside, so book if you want to sit in there, but there are more tables outside. We enjoyed sitting inside in the chapel. Great place. Highly recommended.

A very unique bar in a former chapel. I went there and had a great portwine tasting, with a lot of information about portowine and explaining for every wine I tasted. The pairing with the Serra cheese was a great recommendation. I enjoyed my evening and I will come back when I visit porto again

Cute little gem a bit off the beaten track of Porto’s old town. Very original setting, great to grab a drink and some tapas (specialized in wines but also the port tonic is highly recommended!). Service is a bit slow and port negroni was a bit disappointing.

What a magical place to taste the best port wines in Porto and try out some incredible starters dishes… especially: Codfish croquettes Fig jam, cheese and a bread - bang on!!! Cannot wait to visit again. Usually, it is booked or atleast busy so consider some time but absolutely worth it! If possible, sit inside ;) for a stunning interior

What a cute and pleasant wine bar! I had a great glass of sparkling (spumante!) here. This was our first stop out in Porto, and it was a little chilly/rainy out, and it was perfect. The meat/cheese board and bread looked amazing too, but we didn't eat here. Highly recommend a stop for wine!

A great choice for a special night out. The menu takes you on a journey of 10 courses, in our case with a heavy seafood theme that fits the surroundings. Each dish was equally imaginative, with intense flavor combinations that never missed the mark. The staff was extremely welcoming and personal and the atmosphere was not pretentious at all - unlike many places of this standard. We loved tasting Pedro's take on traditional local ingredients, using a wide range of French techniques.

One of my favourite restaurant in Porto, extreme quality in every dish, exquisit flavours, cool and elegant space with a cozy terrace. All the staff is impeccable and the wine cart has some unique portuguese wines. Totally recommend it!

I came here alone for lunch. They were asking me if I wanted something else every 5 mins. They have Nice food but they don’t inform you of the prices when you order things out of the menu. So when you check the bill it was 11€ for a GLASS of Porto wine when the same bottle online is 13€ tops. I felt tricked. I don’t think I’ll come back.

We happened upon this bar by chance on our first night in Porto. We returned every night as the quality of the ports and wines combined with the knowledge of the staff was amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for a slow, relaxed after dinner drink (or two). They couldn’t have been more helpful or generous with their time. Great quality product at very reasonable prices.

One of the best wine bars I’ve been to worldwide and one that captures the essence of being a wine bar; true warmth and hospitality by Diogo and his team, excellent selection and care of cheeses (served at room temparature) and not to be forgotten a brilliant concise wine selection. Think local Portugese gems, but also wines from Rouget, Lopez de Heredia and Jules Brochet. If you’re into wines, don’t miss this when in Porto.

Great thin crust pizza! Came here when my 4y old said he was hungry and was on the verge of a meltdown. Service was outstanding and thoughtful. Food was great! Drinks were helpful to keep me from going into a tailspin myself!

I would totally suggest to get the deal of 2 house cocktails, 1 pizza and 1 snack. The house cocktails are good (nothing too extravagant). the snack we had was the Romeo and Juliette which was amazing to start. The pizza was the assasin which is a pizza with pepperoni made with thin crust which was quite ideal.

Cozy ambience with some nostalgic elements. Food is superb! I recomend the veal with sun-dried tomato rice. The meat is so beautifully cooked it separates with just the fork and it melts in your mouth like butter. We also tried their garlic bread and felt it needed a pinch more rosemary. We came here because it was very accommodating for dietary needs, and it is true that the menu was very accommodating and I would recommend to those hosting multiple food preferences. The vegetable rolls were really yummy but the salads were lacking for how much they were. I also think the service while initially very kind dwindled to simply fine by the end.

Perfect lunch in a cosy little restaurant with a park view. Salmon steak cooked in pastry, with a tasty rice accompaniment, wine and coffee. 36 euros for two. I've been back here numerous times and always excellent.

World-class presentation of artisanal wines and rustic yet refined food in an atmosphere as unpretentious as it is welcoming. We tasted 5 different and unique wines accompanied by small bites and mains that were perfectly paired. Don’t miss the desserts, accompanied by rare Ports and Madeira. We were only visiting, but would happily return to A Cave do Bon Vivant often if we could!

Great little place for natural wine lovers. Large selection and well priced with knowledgeable and friendly staff. My advice is order from the small plates menu they were great value and delicious and were so filling. There was as also more of a selection as there was as only 3 options on the main menu. My favourite wine bar find in Porto, and possibly Portugal! Genuine, and unpretentious service with a great atmosphere. Amazing food, service and wine selection, including some interesting natural and orange wines. The Snickers desert blew my mind. Highly recommend.. and booking ahead of time is a good idea.

Okay okay Hands down for this amazing wine bar! Food 10/10 (that flamed chouriço yum!) Friendly stuff 10/10 Natural wines 10/10 Mostly all natural wines, Portuguese, French and Spanish. Natural wines are a rare thing in Portugal (specially Portuguese ones, but they have them here!) They are also very knowledgeable about their wines, which helps to make your decision. A lot of hype about the Francesinhas. It was very tasty and unique but everyone at our table weren't raving about having to have another one any time soon. The beer and wine we had was incredible and a few in our party had the margarita pizza. All in all the food and atmosphere were great.

Good food, fair prices. Very family oriented venue. Service was kind but very slow, over 40 minutes to bring the plates. Needs some music for ambiance, it was all loud talk form everyone. Bottom line, would recommend because it's a good meal, but place has no mojo (maybe because it doesn't want to)

Walked in at 330...they close at 4..server seemed VERY annoyed and slammed utensils on our table and kept ignoring me when I would talk to him. So service was lacking. We got Prego em Pao ( steak sandwich) fries and wine. Added Francesinha sauce to dip my fries and Prego into. The sauce was lackluster...bland...so I definitely wouldn't get a Francesinha here because if the sauce isn't good.whats the point. The steak was bland and overcooked. Somehow the bread wasn't good either. The wine was lovely. It was a large restaurant with plenty of seating. It really felt like a tourist trap. Save your money and check out the other Francesinha and Prego em pao places in my other reviews that ARE very good.

We enjoyed our traditional Portuguese meal while staying nearby on holiday. The restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver and we would definitely recommend. Bottle of wine cost 15 euros ( cheap but very nice). We enjoyed Francesinha ( a must do in Porto apparently) and salmon.

Well... First time having Francesinha in Porto, and what better place to try it! Capa negra was advised by friends, we didn't think twice, the restaurant is huge! Fresh fish available, a massive freezer with fresh meat for you to choose.. this francesinha is big and has a lot of layers so if you eat tiny portions then ask for half or share with someone.

I visited this bar 2 days ago for the first time. This bar is located in Travessa Cedofeita, Porto. It is easy to get here by motorcycle or walking. I recommend this bar for a quick bite and drink. Pros 1. Entrance accessible for wheelchairs. 2. Free WiFi accessible inside the bar. 3. The staff is super nice and friendly. 4. They sell cheap food and drinks. 5. Great music was playing during our visit. 6. Payment in cash or multibanco.

Lovely cafe/bar/restaurant overlooking the river and city. Great position. Good selection of drinks and food. We had wine and sandwiches both of which were very good. The sandwich did take a long time to arrive, however we were in no hurry as we were admiring the views whilst drinking our Vinho Verde! The people on the next table complained that they had been waiting 45 minutes for their food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good walk downhill back into town afterwards.

Great place for drinks and appetizers! It was much less crowded than our other stops in Porto, and our server was lovely. And the view, of course, can’t be beat

Fantastic view and the cocktails were delicious. Service was a bit slow and the toilets are down many many stairs, so good luck if you have mobility issues and when you get there they seem to be more an after thought than anything, really need some work done. Overall a nice spot to stop and have a drink overlooking the river.

A beautiful rooftop bar to take in the views, have a nice drink and some snacks. No pressure from the staff, easy going vibe, great drinks. Loved it. Child friendly as well.

The views are amazing not only from the rooftop, but the floor below as well. The rooftop is quite large, has a bar and you can get food there. The food is good, alcohol is a pricey and service is good. The rooftop has tables available with umbrellas but is completely open. The floor below has an seating area and bar underneath a roof . There is also an open area but is covered on top. Recommend!

Great Mercado close to the river. Lots of informal eating and drinking options. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great value wine/port stall on the way in. Portuguese staples, Italian, Brazilian, Burgers (really good), plus others. Across the road from larger more formal restaurant/bar options that open later as well.

Great place in near the water in Gaia. There are many different food providers and it is for meals more than produce. There aren’t fish meat and vegetable sellers but food seller with lots of variety. There are burgers, tapas, pizza, ice cream, fruit and pasta. The quality is pretty good and the price reasonable. There is seating inside and outdoor seating on the opposite side to the water. A great place if you want a quick sit down meal but don’t want to go to a restaurant.

Fantastic displays of Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, cheeses and other goodies. Lots of food to take away too. We had coffee and pastries for breakfast. It's a traditional market tidied up for the tourists but the quality and diversity of produce is still worth seeing. Look out for the cheese cones - a selection ôf cheeses arranged like an ice cream.

Nice trendy food market perfect for sampling the local cuisine - beer flights, bacalhau in all forms, the prices are extremely reasonable - something like a Time Out Market but better (certainly better than the one in Porto). Everyone is friendly in a relaxed atmosphere. Great place to visit, highly recommend

We We have come to love these posh food halls, (this one was impressive) that are scattered around porto, this one of the other side of the river, is awesome, after walk across the bridge and the waterfront, we dropped into here, as we had heard about the 5 ports for 5 euro, we visited Emely's Gourmet (Goumert da Emilia), for a tasting and some fried fish cakes, all in all it was a wonderful experience.

Good selection of food, and some of it was tasty. Staff at the central bar were rude and lacked knowledge of their products and didn't know how to pour beer. Some staff at the food stalls were also poor mannered. Prices were pretty inflated too.

After riding the cable car, it was shortly after lunch so we figured we’d stop by and take a look around to see what we could eat. There are many food options here. Also a lot of wine and beer options. Most vendors here do not accept credit card and only take cash. There are ATMs here, but it’s not worth it if you only have credit cards with you. This doesn’t appear to stop people from frequenting these establishments.

Overpriced beer and a bizarre obsession with blocking bathroom access - I’ve never seen a bar more concerned with guarding toilets than serving drinks. Customers are still prompted to leave a tip, despite ordering on a touchscreen at the counter like a fast-food joint. Lifeless, joyless, and firmly a tourist trap.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible service and staff. We were a group of 4 and were told you had to order at least 2 drinks, one drink per two people. They came up to us and said “you need to order more.” I’ve never been to a bar where they force you to order. The older lady with black hair who seemed to be the supervisor or owner, was running around protecting the bathroom. I tried to look inside the bar first before ordering and was told I can’t do that, I have to order first. Well what if I don’t like the ambience? Our group also couldn’t use the bathroom unless we each bought something. They’re sickly obsessed with their order first and protect the bathroom rule. They don’t care about service or customer experience, they just care about taking your money. Pathetic. People like this do not deserve to be in the industry of serving people. I hope they go out of business soon.

It was nice to sit in for a beer, which was a local craft beer. Nothing special. What was surprising was that we had to choose what we wanted to drink on a screen. We could have tipped ourselves. No, we could have tipped the staff. We didn't. Is this a joke?

As others have stated really rude service, the lady on the counter was incredibly rude. Tried to use the bathroom as my partner was in the middle of paying for our drinks and she pushed the door closed until we had paid. Like we were about to quickly press cancel and run off 😅😂

Very overpriced beer for Portugal. A very small beer here is €5, so $10 Canadian dollars. At least they have a washroom. You can use once you pay for your beer. In a prime tourist trap location.

You pay 4,70 euro for the smallest beer EVER. While around the corner you get twice for a normal size or a bottle. This is robbery, taking advantage of tourist. They don't show you the glass before you pay. Horrible horrible feeling. Two crocettes were 9 euro....pls Avoid this place!!!!

AVOID THIS BAR! I rarely ever write reviews, but my experience at this bar was so unacceptable that it deserves to be called out. While I was ordering drinks, my partner went to use the bathroom—only to be *physically stopped* and *blocked* by the staff, who refused to let her in until I finished paying. I’ve never seen anything so aggressive and humiliating in a supposedly professional establishment. The staff were shockingly rude, completely disengaged, and spent most of their time scrolling on their phones rather than serving customers. Any attempt to get their attention felt like an inconvenience to them. Their attitude was arrogant, lazy, and downright disrespectful. No atmosphere, no hospitality, and absolutely no respect for customers. There are plenty of bars in this city that actually value their patrons—this one clearly doesn’t. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Great variety of artisan bread and other baked goods. Affordable compared to other bakeries in its range.

Finally visited Massiera today — a beautiful walk-in bakery specializing in biological sourdough bread. I picked up the brioche and wow — unbelievably buttery, soft, and full of flavor. Definitely a new favorite spot!

Definitely one of the best 'trigo' bread in town. They sell all kinds of sourdough bread but I also occasionally saw different types such as rice bread. My favourite is its Brioche and my partner likes cinnamon rolls. To me a smile always doubles the taste and sometimes they are lack of it. But overall this tiny bakery gives us joy of bread. And as it is a small bakery, you cannot eat in (just in case)

The plain brioche is a must try! And the cinnamon buns are really good. English speaking friendly staff. Went there twice during our short porto stay. Highly recommended!

Great Sourdough Bread in Porto. The rice bread is amazing.

“Alternative-Grains”? “Sourdough-Bread? These, my friends-are Keyword-clusters that translate to- 💥THE REAL DEAL💥 of Bakeries I’ve experienced in my 11 short months of loving ,living in Porto/VN GAIA! The man behind the counter was so super friendly, and knowledgeable about something as humble as BAKED BREAD! Not “Institutional Bread”, but “Artisanal Bread” ! Bread with soul - like his lovely black Olive Sourdough bread, no little flecks of olives here… but big slices of nicely brined-olives of Portuguese descent. Did I mention his BRIOCHE? O.M.G.! So delicious - so-sweet- that 2-Slices- “mysteriously” got partially eaten on our way to “PATCH-Lifestyle & Plant-Stand-Store” on Rua do Rosario. We can only hope the owner thinks about expanding his successful business by opening across the Douro in Gaia! They’d “KILL IT” ( a technical small-Business phrase by the way!)
