We did the tour! The tour guide was dressed up as the wine label logo, which was fun! Able to sample three varieties at the end of the tour - not our favorite but still enjoyed the experience.

Visited Sandeman’s Port Cellar in Gaia recently—and wow, what a treat! The cellar sits right on the riverfront, so it’s easy to find and sets a lovely scene. We opted for the three port tastings. Our guide walked us through where all the barrels, casks and vintage bottles as stored along with the story of the timeless “Don,” and Sandeman’s 200-year legacy. The group was small, which made it feel relaxed and personal. Highly recommended—just be sure to book ahead! Whether you go for the quick visit or the aged-tawny indulgence, it's a classy experience with a side of story and scenery.

This is an amazing tour of one of the premium brands of ports. Though it was originally an English business it is now owned by the same company that makes Mateus rosé. Our guide through the seller was very knowledgeable and personable. Her ability to explain the process of making port and other fortified wines was wonderful. The tour itself takes you through the aging barrels and into a screening room where a video is played of the process. The tour ended in the sales roomwhere a tasting of the white port and a Tory port was provided. There was been an opportunity to purchase some of these fantastic ports. A wonderful tour of a great port maker in the city that made port famous.

The port tour and tasting here was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions in detail. The tasting consisted of five ports in a private room at the end of the tour which was a very nice touch. We’d highly recommend you try Sandeman’s for your port cellar and tasting tour!

What a location! Just walked by this time, but I heard this winery has quite the history. I think they also offer tasting tours. Will try next time!

This is a small Port winery established since 1890s with a lovely adjourning Vinum restaurant overlooking the beautiful city. All the wine making and corking process is still being performed traditionally by hand. The port tasting was interesting as I tasted rich and sweet to nutty and smooth (my first time). The dinner was gastronomical (grilled sausages, crispy pork belly, wine pairing, etc.). 😋

Graham’s winery was amazing! The small museum is very interesting, and our guide was excellent, fluent in English and shared lots of fascinating details. The port wine tasting was great as well. Portions for the food pairings could be a bit bigger, but overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

We visited for a late-morning pre-booked English tour & tasting. We walked from Porto, which was all fine until we started to climb to Graham's - it was a challenging walk on the roads, with very teeny tiny shoulders! We arrived with only a few minutes to spare for our scheduled tour time. The exterior grounds and view are GORGEOUS - absolutely spectacular. If I had realized they were that nice I likely would have just had a drink on the terrace to soak it all in. However, the tour was mostly interesting; longer and more detailed than I had anticipated it being. I'm glad we did it, though I don't remember any of the information provided now. I think we had the misfortune of being in a tour group with some rather pretentious types; I felt a little bad for the tour guide (who was very friendly) as some of the guests seemed to be peppering her with some snooty-seeming (to me) questions. Maybe it was just a handful of bougie travellers, I don't know. The tour was followed by a tasting in a large, open room; we just did the basic tasting of 3 ports (I'm not a Port person, but the LBV was good) but I noticed others likely purchased one of the upgraded experiences with tasting items, etc. That part was mostly left on our own to taste, after the guide explained things, which I liked. We walked through the shop at the end, took another look around the beautiful landscaping and terrace, and hopped on an Uber back to our next destination!

We enjoyed the wine tasting tour very much. Learned a lot about port wine and I liked the 20 year tawny wine the best among the three offerings. The view outside is spectacular!

Went here at open and everyone was super accommodating and nice. Did a tasting and bought lots of goodies at the gift shop. The shop is fully stocked with amazing stuff at great prices.

The views are the best of any port winery in the city and the tasting rooms are very nice. I just wish I’d skipped the “premium” tasting (the “six grapes” blend was horrible) and cheese “pairing” (quite bad) in favor of the nicer tasting options.

Very cool rooftop hangout spot, the wines are amazing and the cocktails are very good too, the view is one of the best in Porto and the music is very tasteful. The food is not the best but it’s not horrible, just average, could be much better. The staff is good due to the layout of the place, some tables are kind of hidden and get forgotten.

Nice cocktail bar on the roof. Quite small and filled up quickly late afternoon. Good range of cocktails with many using Port which was good. Good vantage point when you were standing up. However, when seated you couldn’t see anything! Didn’t have food so can’t comment. My cocktail was very good but it had a lot of ice which means when it melts it quickly becomes watery and tasteless.

We went there twice and both times had a great time, the staff was friendly and the cocktails were fantastic. We didn't order food so just enjoyed the magnificent views of the river. The music was too loud, though.

Our experience at Espaço Porto Cruz was absolutely out of this world — truly one of the big, unexpected highlights of our trip to Porto! We originally came for a Porto wine tasting, but what we got was so much more. Our sommelier, Vasco Garcia, was exceptional — knowledgeable, passionate and incredibly down to earth. He stayed with us far longer than required, guided us through a journey of wine that went well beyond what we had booked and made us feel genuinely welcome the entire time. We started with tastings of white, rosé, and red wines from the Douro region, followed by a deep dive into Porto wines — officially five, but in reality more like nine (but, who's counting when it's this good, right?). Vasco Garcia gave us what felt like a mini masterclass in Porto wine — covering fermentation, blending techniques, aging processes and so much more... — all paired perfectly with food. It was educational, delicious and unforgettable. One of the main reasons we chose Espaço Porto Cruz was their child tasting option — such a thoughtful and rare offering. For just €8, our son enjoyed a tasting of three chocolates and three juices while we had our wine experience, which made the whole visit much more enjoyable for all of us. And just as a side note: this was not my first (nor will it be my last) wine tasting. I’ve talked to many sommeliers in the past, and I’m not easily impressed. But Vasco G. knows and loves his wines — and you can feel it throughout the experience. So here’s my honest advice: don’t be shy, ask for Vasco Garcia and treat yourself to one of their premium tastings. You will not regret it. We came to keep our son entertained while we sipped wine — we’re leaving with a deep appreciation for Porto wines and are already planning our next wine tasting with Vasco G. Unbelievable in the best way. Thank you once again, Vasco G. and keep up the love and passion you put in your work!

Spent a couple of hours on the rooftop bar, which has a great vibe and amazing views. Also did a port tasting on the terrace, the service was great and the port and chocolate flight was excellent!

One of the oldest cellar buildings b the area with a pre-book self-guided audio tour and wine tasting(3 kinds). Helpful history although a big part of it was for this particular venue. The wine tasting area is in a beautiful court yard with great decoration and large area inside and outside. They rai out of snack by 4pm with only a few sweets and cheese and olive 🫒 left. Cheese was good but Oliver was not fresh and super salty and is barely edible. Need some improvement there for sure. Not the cheapest cellar and there is a bit of a hill to walk up after the bridge but still enjoyable and only need to book ahead day in advance which is nice ☺️

This was a fantastic port cellar to visit! The tour itself is very informative and has a lot of historical artifacts, videos, and of course the barrels of port in the giant warehouse. The tour is all self guided at your pace, and gives a complete history of the company and also the port making process. The best part is of course the tasting at the end in Taylor’s beautiful garden. The ports we tried were all top notch (especially the 10 year) and the server was very knowledgeable about the styles. Most definitely worth a special visit if you’re in Porto.

1) I liked the port wine. 2) If you visit, I think the tour including a tasting is a better deal than just the tasting, with tasting sets starting at 22 EUR. 3) Be aware that while the garden is nice, you won’t have much of a view of Porto. 4) Stay away from the bread basket — at 8 EUR for six tiny pieces of mediocre bread, I thought this was a real rip-off that left a bitter taste on the whole experience

We enjoyed visiting this wine cellar and recommend this place to other visitors. The tour is informative and shares context on the wine making process and some history of the founders of this cellar. You get the chance to pass by some real big barrels which was cool. The highlight of the tour was the tasting. You taste the wines in the rooftop garden and if you go to the balcony, you will have a nice view of porto. There is a shop that you can purchase wines. The price was fair for the experience (~€25).

We had such a great tour of the port, followed by a tasting that was absolutely delicious. Marri (forgive me if I’m spelling her name wrong!) was our waitress she was so sweet, spoke perfect English, and really took the time to help us pair our port with food. The pairings were spot-on and made the experience even better. The grounds are stunning, covered in grapevines everywhere you really feel like you’re in the heart of a winery. They also have a charming little shop where you can purchase their port and even their own house olive oil. Another bonus they’re open on Mondays, when many of the other ports in the area are closed. We actually stumbled upon this place, and I’m so glad we did!

If you love port, or think you might, and can splurge a bit for the tawny master class, I highly recommend doing so. While I did it, my wife did the audioguide tour and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely. We didn't do all the bodegas but of the ones we did, this was our favorite.

Port wine lover. This is one of the stops you have to add to your ToGo list. Tried their port tasting with our 1st taste of Iberian Ham. What a pairing and was well served by super friendly staff who has shown his interest introducing each and every port characteristics. Wonderful experience. Thank You!

The second address of the tour we joined from Porto was Köpke Vineyards and Winery. The person who introduced us seemed to be fed up with his life. I think the groups were large and crowded. I was not interested in what he said because he was so blasé. Then we moved on to the tasting. I think our group agreed on two tastings, there were 3 glasses at other tables. Frankly, both wines were very dominant and sweeter than I expected. I didn't like it much and couldn't drink it anyway. However, the view was magnificent due to its location. I could have hung out and watched the view for hours. I also drank my espresso while watching the breathtaking view. You can go with a tour, but if I were to go by myself, I wouldn't choose it.

We had the most amazing port tasting experience here. We arrived at around 3pm on a Monday and there was no problem getting a table. We ordered one of the port tasting flights which to my delight came with chocolates. The server will then talk you through each wine when they arrive and you can have the table as long as you want, there’s no rush. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and we spent a lovely couple of hours here.

We stumbled upon this charming tasting room while escaping a rainy day… and what a find! It’s a cozy spot right on the river, offering beautiful views of Porto and the Dom Luís Bridge. The service was excellent, and the wine tasting was generous- five substantial pours, each with great flavors. If you’re not big drinkers, sharing a tasting is definitely a smart move!

We really enjoyed our afternoon with Kopke. Having been to Porto years ago we returned because we finally ran out of the port wine we bought then. Kopke was our favorite, so this store was perfect for us. We sampled about 12 different wines from the 2022 to a 1937 and ended up sending 24 bottles back to the States including a 1934, 1937, 1941, some 50s and 60s, some 1983s (surprisingly might be the best of all of them), 40 and 50 year old bottles. Where else can you find these things? Everyone was very friendly and helpful to boot.

Shout-out to Sara for being a great host for our first port wine tasting! Truly recommend this spot for anyone looking for an authentic port wine tasting from the oldest port wine house in the city. I appreciated that it was a calm experience compared to the over hyped spots next door.

Had a quick wine tasting here in the morning, very friendly and helpful staff. Some chocolates to pair with the port, and a great view over the river and of the bridge from the first floor. Very reasonable prices too, and the wine range from the standard release to the rarest vintage.

Caves Ferreira is an absolute must-do when visiting Porto! The tour is perfectly paced, lasting about 45 minutes. It does a beautiful job of mixing history and tradition with the compelling story of Dona Antónia Ferreira. The guides are excellent at bringing the heritage to life. Logistically, the experience was seamless. Our group was conveniently sized (around 30 people), which made the tour engaging and comfortable. We also had no issue booking a tour on the same day (we secured an afternoon slot by booking in the morning). The experience culminates with a great Port tasting, we got to sample three different types, which was fantastic, followed by a well-stocked shop where you can buy a wide variety of their wines. Highly recommended for an authentic and convenient Port wine experience!

Caves Ferreira is one of the oldest and most storied Port houses in Portugal, and one of the few still under Portuguese ownership. Founded in 1751, the Ferreira name has become synonymous with quality and tradition, but the heart of the story belongs to Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known affectionately as “A Ferreirinha.” Her leadership saved the family business and helped countless farmers during the phylloxera crisis of the 19th century. She was admired for continuing to pay her workers for three years even after the vineyards were destroyed. The cellars themselves are impressive: vast, cool, and filled with the deep scent of oak and aged Port. The lighting is dim, golden, and theatrical, perfectly framing the rows of barrels and casks, some dating back generations. The tasting was generous and well-paced, featuring a range of Ports from ruby to aged tawny. We even stayed after the official tasting to enjoy an extra round. The wines are outstanding, the storytelling is first-rate, and the atmosphere is unforgettable. If you’re in Porto or Gaia, don’t miss it.

Really nice experience, fun but also educational. The tour guides are really kind, explaining everything thoroughly, perfectly paced tour. The wine testing came with a lot of information and some laughter. There is also a store in the facility from where you can buy wines or various souvenirs. One ticket is 22€ but its worth it, especially if you are passionate about Porto wine. Must do in Porto

Coline was amazing. My boyfriend and I accidentally booked the tour for douro instead of port wines, and they easily switched it for us. Coline gave us a wonderful tour and answered all our questions, she is a great tour guide!

I chose the Caves Ferreira port and chocolate pairing tour for my partner and I and we both really enjoyed it! We learned a lot and thought the tour was the perfect length. Tasty port and chocolate truffles as well!

Our first time in Porto and we decided to book a Porto caves tour. We’ve never been on a wine/port wine tour before and it didn’t disappoint. Really interesting history and it was nice to finish off with the port tasting and chocolates. We had two children (9 & 14) with us and they had to sit at another table whilst they watched us enjoy our tasting!

Was okay. Ordered one thing but received another. The waitress refuted this ever happening even though the wine was completely different name and class. She left me with the wine I didn’t ask for. Went to manager, manager made it awkward questioning waitress in front of me, clearly annoyed that I had even come to her. Was charged initial wine ordering that was a lesser cost than the wine I had intended to purchase. Offered to pay the difference but they instead came to grab the original wine from my table and discuss the exchange in the back. All I wanted was to change wines and pay price difference. Ultimately my waitress brought me the wine I originally asked for and advised me to order more carefully next time…. Using the terms that only applied to the wine I wanted initially (as per the menu). Wine was still good. Atmosphere great. Cheese plate messy but delicious.

The tasting was underwhelming. It felt overpriced, especially compared to other Port houses nearby that offer more for the same or even less. The explanations were vague, and the staff didn’t seem very informed about the wines. I also didn’t enjoy their Port much. For what I paid, I expected more from the wines and the service. There are definitely better experiences to be had elsewhere in the area.

I had a wine flight along the banks of the Douro at this lovely place. All the time they were careful to explain the details of each wine, including why they looked different from each other. The 5 different variations and ages of port were all good as well. I would recommend this place as a relaxing place to spend about an hour at.

Great service - CATARINA was/is wonderful. Port is a daunting proposition for many - even me, after years of practice! Catarina made me relaxed. Just next to Sandemans and looked more inviting. Had the “Port Wine Flight 40Y” - 5 great Ports for €48. Great value when you think how much you pay for Port in your local restaurant. Great venue - overlooking the river with the famous bridge in the background.

The cheap offered wines were not good... A biscuit is served to cleanse life between tastings of the various wines.

(Original) Sehr nette und kompetente Beratung!! Es gibt dort kleine Portweine (5cl) die sich gut als Souvenir für Freunde und Familie eigenen (ca 3€ pro Stück). Natürlich gibt es auch größere Größen bei denen es dann auch mehr Auswahl gibt. Wir haben jetzt einen weißen Portwein und einen typischen roten Portwein (siehe Bild) mitgenommen. Es gab in der Größe (5cl) jedoch noch eine weitere Sorte. Nur zu Empfehlen!!!

Hidden away from the Douro River in the labyrinth of tiny streets in Vila Nova de Gaia is a gem of a tasting room. This family owned and operated port lodge is both spacious and intimate. They offer an array of tasting options, either solo or with food pairings. The nice thing was their portfolio wines and ports were also available by the glass. Every staff member was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all their wines. Plus, their shop has great prices for their products should you want to buy on the spot or ship home.

Miguel was a fantastic host, explaining in great detail the flavours and history of each wine and also shared with us the history of their company and the owners roles. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely return. The wines were gorgeous and the Port was perfectly sweet and well paired with the provided snacks.

An industrial-chic yet cozy tasting room with incredibly friendly staff! In addition to Port wine, they craft and serve their own gin, which is absolutely delicious and we purchased these unique bottles as gifts. We found this hidden gem tucked away off the main streets while taking a break from exploring. The staff went above and beyond, even sharing a personal guide with their favorite local spots- such a thoughtful and memorable touch.

My partner and I did a tasting and it was such a nice experience. There is a bar ok the ground floor, with a separate tasting room on the 1st floor. You can book online but we just walked it and they squeezed us in. It turned out to be just my partner and I with the sommelier, and we learned so much . Delicious ports - we tried 4 samples for €16 so great value. You can sample ports paired with cheese which I heard is an excellent option (as long as you don’t arrive full)

There are many places to taste Port wine in Porto but this one is truly a hidden gem. It is a bit off the typical tourist paths and that is exactly its charm. You will not find crowds of tourists here and yet the quality of the wines and the prices are still excellent.

We had a wonderful dining experience,the Asian dishes were outstanding, full of flavor and creativity. The Beef Wellington, however, didn’t quite meet our expectations, as the mustard was a bit too dominant and masked the flavor of the meat. That said, the cheesecake was absolutely delightful – a perfect way to end the meal.

Had 3 meals here in two days. I can highly recommend the tiger prawn risotto, the beef wellington, the red velvet cheesecake and the caramel fondant. Amazing. The view is also stunning.

There were five of us, and half of the main dishes we ordered were oversalted — even the rice with lobster, which was very disappointing. The desserts (we ordered four of them) contained too much sugar. The service and ambience were amazing, but I honestly hope for a better experience with the food.

Came here at 6:30pm. Was told dinner is fully booked and won’t be able to serve until 10pm. So I sat at the bar and had some bar food until 7:30pm which is when I left. I was offered to eat at 7:30 to 8:30pm one hour and I had to finish. Even though by the time I left, the place is 10% occupied. Who cares, I ordered two snacks, two drinks and sparkling water. The entire time table is not full and I had ti call them to refill my water and 2nd time I had to refill my own water. No service absolutely.

Very nice ambience but SO overpriced for Portugal. A tip is suggested on the bill, which in Portugal, let’s you know you’re in a tourist trap. Very nice restaurant, but at the price point, I would not recommend it. And the food, while fine, wasn’t great.

We had high expectations for this restaurant, as it came highly recommended by our tour guide. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to them. During our meal, we were attended by at least six different staff members who alternated between taking our orders, serving our dishes, and refilling our glasses. None of them introduced themselves, which made the service feel impersonal and somewhat disorganized. With the exception of one friendly server, most appeared rather uninterested or unhappy to be there. The starters — burrata salad and clams — were enjoyable, though the prawn tempura was dry and lacked flavor. For our mains, we ordered the seabass and the octopus. My mother requested the seabass without rice, substituting it for asparagus instead; however, the dish arrived with rice anyway, accompanied by overly salty asparagus. The prawn rice itself had a single overwhelming flavor — cilantro — while the fish was unfortunately bland. Dessert was the highlight: both the tiramisu and the affogato were excellent. However, the waitress accidentally spilled some coffee on my sister’s lap and failed to acknowledge or apologize for it. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially given the €250 bill, which already included a service charge. We had much better food for less here in the Porto/Gaia region. That said, the view and the ambiance were wonderful.

We made a short visit to learn about the history of Quinta do Bom Dia, and it was very well explained by Cláudia – she deserves a thousand points! It was an interesting tour, the place is beautiful, and the wines were very good. However, it gets extremely hot inside, both for visitors and especially for the staff. Installing air conditioning would definitely improve the experience.

A strictly local company, with really the best prices for tours and tasting. The tour was extremely informative, a small warehouse where they store some of their product. It is a warehouse and the wine has to age so don't complain they don't have air conditioning in the warehouse. It's only 15 mins and then you go to an air conditioned tasting room for the final part of the tour. Really nice Port wines, I prefer the Tawny but you get to try two or if you want you can purchase more samples. With what they charge per glass and for the tour you could have 5 samples per tour compared to the other places.

Excellent. Euro10 for 30 minutes tour explaining history and production and a couple of their ports included. Then option to purchase extra is reasonably priced. Support them. They are the only family owned, non-corporate left. Option to export back to your country if you want 3 or more bottles.

A wonderful visit and port wine tasting! I went for an English tour, our guide was really kind and fun, and the explanations were clear. We were a small group of 6, which was perfect. The wine we tasted was insanely good, and I added another tasting for the 20 years wine and it was by far the best wine I've ever tried in my life it was so tasty, and with so many fragrances. I kept imagining what I could eat with this! Thank you so much for this experience, it was a highlight of my trip to Porto. It was important for me to try a more local cave than the big famous ones and it was a really good choice! Merci from France, from one wine country to another.

We had a wonderful experience at Quinta do Bom Dia. The port tasting was excellent, Claudia and the staff were welcoming and the whole experience fantastic!

Great experience with a family run port house. The guide, Gonzalo, was very informative and answered any questions the small group had. The tasting was good and we were able to try more than planned. We loved that it was a more local place, compared to the bigger international ones. It felt a lot more intimate this way, as it was just us and another family, 6 people in total. Definitely recommend for a more local experience!

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night for dinner then came back again today for lunch! We highly recommend it for anyone seeking an authentic Portuguese dining experience. The food was amazing. It is family owned and operated. The owner served us and his wife cooked the food for the restaurant. They were so incredibly friendly, welcoming, and fun. We will come back here every time we come to Porto.

Authentically portugese, fresh, and incredibly delicious food! The service is amazing too. We don’t speak a word of portugese, but somehow we understood everything. I would give Restaurante O Ferreira 10 out of 5!

Excelente homemade Portuguese food and soo cheap. The place is small but the owner is friendly and always ready to help you get seated. If they're on the menu, try the Pataniscas de bacalhau with bean rice.

Amazing food and great people. The only restaurant in the city of Oporto that I was able to try real portuguese food among the daily day city people, and not surrounded with tourists and expensive prices. Try the codfish....

Kind of hard to find because it's just a big closed gate, but once we found it, we had a great tour experience. Pretty intimate because it was a small group. The tour itself is kind of basic, but the place is pretty cool. The tasting session was very good. We tasted several of their natural wines which were quite good prior to tasting any port which was also very good. Our guide was very knowledgeable as he was both a sommelier and a friend of the winery's family. So glad we did this.

We reserved a tasting here after doing some research online and couldn’t have been happier with the choice. Very small group in our tasting of about 10 people with full access to the cellars and private tasting rooms. Very generous tasting sizes of excellent wine. We popped into a couple larger port cellars afterwards and the atmosphere was notably more corporate and rushed. Book ahead here, you won’t regret it!

We thought it was close... tried our luck ringing the bell at the huge iron gate... and waited for a while... and lo and behold, Jose opened the gate and told us whilst we didn't have a reservation for the wine tasting, he was able to accommodate us. It was a wonderful experience walking through the dark, cool cellar, and to be able to witness the years of Portuguese wine history.. I highly recommend their Port wines!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Niepoort. The tour felt very personal and non-rehearsed. Our tour guide answered all questions and showed us some neat history. The artwork throughout the place was really cool too. I would definitely say this was the hipster port cellar. The wine tasting was the best part. We discussed each wine and port as we drank them. We even got to try some extras which was fun. We were provided cards so we could write down notes. This attention to detail and personal level was really nice. I highly recommend a visit to Niepoort.

Absolutely beautiful experience start to finish. Highly recommend reserving and doing at least the port essentials. We had a great tour, learned so much, and tasted some amazing port. A lot of history at Niepoort and they make some of the best quality in the business! Will remember the experience forever.

Probably the best wine tasting experience we’ve had, simply due to the attention and care of our guide, Jose. His friendly and thoughtful approach to the subject was inspiring and made us enjoy every minute. The cellar entrance seems a bit hidden at first glance, but we were personally welcomed in just as we arrived. The cellar is very authentic and historic with an amazing collection of barrels lining the way through the space. A hidden trendy bar/tasting room can be found within and it is extremely well designed. There was obviously a very skilled designer responsible as it felt cozy, artistic, and contemporary all while being located within a historic port cellar. We had a fantastically curated tasting which highlighted the skilled wine making in Portugal. The best part was that the wines were on the lighter side at 11% so we could enjoy the experience without having to be worried about the side effects of drinking about 15 different wines. The focus on biodynamic, organic wines, and the local viticulture was very well presented and something which we thought set it apart from the others. Highly recommend the experience for those who enjoy the art of wine making and wine drinking.

Pretty good food in general with generous portion. The bread is delicious. Pizza was good. Bacalhau à Brás can use a little more seasoning. Beautiful location with amazing view. The service was very good. The seatings aren’t very comfortable. It’s a bit warm inside. Bathroom is clean. Overall it’s a great experience.

We had a very good experience at PIP. The starter introduced me to a very tasty olive oil, the codfish was very well seasoned and had a lot of flavor, and the pepperoni pizza was without a doubt one of the best, if not THE best pizza I have ever eaten. The red wine was light and pleasant, and the dessert was also very good. The servers were very polite and the overall experience was particularly pleasant. All for a very reasonable price, it is definitely an address to try in Porto!

I have been to this place quite often. Sometimes its occupied by events. But whenever I had the chance to eat there, no matter lunch or dinner, it was fantastic. And I am very picky. They also server sparkling and other wines by the glass. I have always been happy. Service excellent. Whatever you wish, they try to fulfill. Definitely I will come back...

Amazing and relaxing restaurant in Gaia district. My friend is gluten free and vegetarian so the kind staff really helped her to find the best dish. The quality was great and fair price. For sure we’ll come back

We stumbled upon this restaurant because the one we were originally going to go to was closed. Wow, what I find! The inside of the restaurant was beautiful, dark wood beams accenting the ceiling, cellar style walls and beautiful accents. We ordered the bruschetta and salmon. The bruschetta was nontraditional, instead of little crostinis, the bread was this outstanding housemade bread, similar to a pizza dough. Delicious!! The salmon was served with risotto which was excellent. While the salmon was a but dry, it was still good. The service was very good, welcoming and extremely polite. Great find and looking to go back. UPDATE: Went back for lunch the same week and as predicted, were very impressed by the pizzas. The dough was airy, light, absolutely delicious. The service was just as welcoming and top notch as the first visit abd the restaurant itself was more beautiful during the day. Great find!

A pleasant way to spend some time in Porto, especially when the weather is not that good. We took the tour in English, the guide Beatrix was nice and told us many interesting things. After the 30 minutes tour we tasted fine Port wine. During the tasting we got to know interesting people sitting behind the same table and had an enriching chat with them.

The group leader at the winery told us really good stories about the whole procedure of creating wine starting from the harvests in Douro Valley to the final steps made at Porto. During the visit you mainly see big barrels but these kind of tours are not focusing on visual attractions, the history and story telling are the main and important parts because this is the only way you can find out why Porto wines are so unique. The tasting is nice, you can rest a little bit sitting in a cold cellar and have 3 wines for 7,5€ which is a very reasonable price, you also have the opportunity to buy those wines which you liked the most.

A very good showing for port. The tour was really well donee and the tasting were a nice end to the tour that helped explain what wee were drinking. The location was good and I would put it on your list as a place to visit when your in the city

Pretty cool for 13 euro to see the caves, get the info, and taste 3 ports. Our guide was great and seemed like he cared about the company/brand he worked for. We met some great people from England as we had our tasting and enjoyed the chat and wine as much as anything. Port was really good, nothing crazy but really good. Would recommend as we brought home a few bottles although we bought them at a wine store in Porto.

Nice guided visit - our guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining and spoke perfect French! The tour ended with a tasting of 2 Port wines, accompanied by an exquisite selection of traditional Portuguese cheeses, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend this tour.

This place is truly a gem. Awesome Port and Jorge was the best. I truly had the place to myself with Jorge explaining details of the Port and answering all my questions. The fact that I was able to buy a taster set with an 80-yr old Port - I can’t wait to try. Not being a connoisseur of Port wine, I now look forward to drinking and learning more. I very much recommend this place for being a small producer, located very convenient to all of Porto and the larger, more commercial enterprises. Thanks, Jorge. Seemingly great place right out in the open. Asked for a tour or tasting and we're told this was high end port wine by the "bouncer" and they don't do tours or tastings for us. Those pictures look amazing but we will never find out.

Had the pleasure of doing the premium tasting today. Jorge was amazing, gave us a short tour and also answered all of our questions. I also tried Graham’s but felt that this port was much better. Ended up purchasing a good amount to bring home. Definitely a hidden gem, would definitely give it a try if in town!

We stopped in just looking for old tawnys. Jorge helped us and invited us upstairs to sample a 40, the oldest they have available, because we were interested in their 80 year old VVOP. We strongly considered buying the 80 at their asking price of over €1000 for the rarity of it but decided we liked the 40 year old tawny of another brand better. Still, Jorge was very friendly and informative and the seating room looks beautiful. You should definitely give them a look.

The best place to have an exceptional tasting and highly recommend to you. I had exclusive tasting and they served 6 Port wines from 20 years to 80 years. From this tasting, I could understand more about Port. Also the knowledgeable staff explained really well from the production to tasting. P.s. each wine is served by 60cl bial, so you can bring the rest of wine to your home!

Not a warm welcome from the gentleman out front. He explained it was $125 to taste per person and they have high end port only. He waved his hand and suggested we try other low end ports nearby. I ask, why have him out front? Perhaps their website should relay this and offer private bookings. I watched him turn away multiple parties. I’ll gladly pay the $40-60 tasting flights without the attitude.

We loved this wine, and visited twice in our six days in Porto. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about their wine. And the food, which we enjoyed on our second visit, was delicious too. It's quite small inside, so book if you want to sit in there, but there are more tables outside. We enjoyed sitting inside in the chapel. Great place. Highly recommended.

We loved it. We went there based on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The place is so nicely decorated. It’s a calm quaint atmosphere. Carla is knowledgeable in wines. She helped us to choose an excellent Espumante for our dinner and we discussed with her other wines. The food, which is to share , is really good. A very unique bar in a former chapel. I went there and had a great portwine tasting, with a lot of information about portowine and explaining for every wine I tasted. The pairing with the Serra cheese was a great recommendation. I enjoyed my evening and I will come back when I visit porto again

Cute little gem a bit off the beaten track of Porto’s old town. Very original setting, great to grab a drink and some tapas (specialized in wines but also the port tonic is highly recommended!). Service is a bit slow and port negroni was a bit disappointing.

What a magical place to taste the best port wines in Porto and try out some incredible starters dishes… especially: Codfish croquettes Fig jam, cheese and a bread - bang on!!! Every Saturday, they do what they call Lodge Pops - a chance for young gifted cooks to showcase their culinary creativity. It’s not just the location - it’s the idea! And I recognize there is some really good Portuguese food - if you know you know. And every time I- three in a row - I walk away with a worthy list of restaurant recommendations. So far, every single one was a hit.

This was an unexpected find, but what a find! Great little setup with a gorgeous garden to sit in, or if you are lucky you might snag a picnic table. The food was amazing - tapas style small serves. The prawn taco was life changing, but everything our party tried was fantastic. Life slowed down for the time we were there. Great food, great drinks (10 yr old Tawny - OMG), and amazing music made for the BEST meal we have had in Porto. Oh, and the service was excellent :) If we are ever lucky enough to return to Porto this will be on our must do list.

What a fabulous hidden gem and a highlight of our trip to Porto. We spent a couple of hours enjoying the sunshine, beautiful port, lovely platters and magnificent views. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We were undecided about visiting higher profile wineries for a tasting experience - I’m so, so pleased we chose an afternoon at Churchills instead. A hidden gem in Porto! The garden at 1982 Bar Churchills is absolutely stunning – the perfect place to relax in peace, away from the tourist crowds. The cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had, the Port is outstanding, and you can enjoy a light snack while soaking in the atmosphere. The service is warm and attentive, making you feel truly welcome. This is one of those rare spots where you can unwind, savor every sip, and simply enjoy the moment. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

Absolutely the best Port wine experience in Porto! We arrived around 3pm and joined two other couples for the tasting. From the moment we walked in, Bruno made us feel completely at home, warm, welcoming, and full of great energy. We stumbled into Vasques De Carvalho 4 years ago and were absolutely blown away by the service and quality of the port wines. We bought a few bottles to take home and share with friends and family. Today we went back and it was just as amazing. Even though every table was full, our hostess took her time to tell us all about the port wines. We got absolutely spoiled and this is, by far, our favorite port house. Thank you all, especially Bruno and Sandra for serving us then and now, you are the reason for us to come back to Porto ❤️

Not a big port drinker, but Sandra helped walk us through the history, process, and expression of different port styles. Made a fan out of me. If you go with a large group you’ll end up upstairs. I recommended keeping it small and enjoying some one on one time with their staff.

Great wines, nice staff, great authentic location. We didn't ask for a wine tour because we didn't see the point. The 20 year old Port wine we had was a dream. The second and third glass was no different. And yes, it was expensive. If low price is not important then don't come here, come to one of the tourist traps by the water. This is not it!

Nonexistent customer service. We have booked a dinner with wine tasting. Later it turned out that we wouldn't be able to come on the day we booked, so I left them a message on the number that was on the reservation asking if we could move the visit to another day. Nobody answered the message. The next day I called that number and was told to call another number. I called and the person said he didn't speak English and would ask his colleague to call. He never called. I then called their third number, where we were told to "google the right number because we don't handle tasting reservations". We lost 112 euros.

I didn't have a lot of time but really enjoyed the tour and tasting. The best place to buy Fonseca wine and goodies.

The fado part was absolutely fantastic, the three musicians were so passionate and talented. Unfortunately the cellar tour was terrible - the young female guide for our English group spoke very unclearly (not helped by other language groups being around us), rushed through the content extremely quickly, only for us to then wait in the tasting room for a long time for the Portuguese group to arrive. She could definitely have gone through the guided tour properly - the male guide with the Portuguese group did and he seemed so much more enthusiastic.

I booked wine tasting with dinner - prepaid. They cancelled it a few days before my reservation - because of a private event in the same day. Since my days are planned - because of short term visit- I coulnd’t reschedule it for another day. Instead, I asked recommandation for similar experince Ididn’t get any reply after that. Not professional neither customer oriented. Don’t trust the reservation even if you pay months ago.

We booked the tour, wine tasting and fado performance. Our guide Henrique was enthusiastic and presented us with such in-depth knowledge on Fonseca’s port wines. The fado performers gave us a beautiful and touching show. The price is great for this experience!

That was such a great experience! We chose the wine tasting option and definitely didn’t regret it. The selection was very well balanced, with each wine offering its own interesting taste and character. It was both enjoyable and memorable. I’d definitely recommend visiting this place if you appreciate good wine and a relaxed atmosphere.

Sorry I did not take more photos to share but I have to say we were very impressed by the quality of food. We ordered some tapas (bacalao, octopus, mushrooms, papas a la brava and peppers) and they were very delicious! Great atmosphere and service and prices were reasonable! We also had some wine and followed the waitress recommendation for the wine ! A must go place in Porto! We did not make a reservation and we were lucky to get a table for two for 1 1/2 hour so you may need to reserve for rush hours from 7pm.

Loved this little place. Relaxed lunch. Food was excellent and the wine too. Lots of help on the wine choice and then the desert wine pairing. Plenty for vegetarians. Recommend the cheese sharing board. It was a little quiet, but that didn't matter. If you're looking for packed and busy this is not the vibe in the day time.

The meat was delicious, and the Francesinha was also very tasty. The restaurant offers a wide selection of wines. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Its a good spot they have amazing service but in terms of the food its a bit dicey. There are good food options but looks, tasty and cost prospective its not that highly recommended. I loved the service but apart from that nothing really was exciting. Average price range for a food starts from 20€.

It's at the back end of the square, away from the hubub of the main square. A traditional Portuguese fish restaurant. Had been in Porto for a week and not managed to get a proper fish dinner. Found this place, very welcoming, did great fresh sardines, paired with a good local wine at their recommendation. Mixed salad and some olives as well, Best meal I had!

We happened upon this bar by chance on our first night in Porto. We returned every night as the quality of the ports and wines combined with the knowledge of the staff was amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for a slow, relaxed after dinner drink (or two). They couldn’t have been more helpful or generous with their time. Great quality product at very reasonable prices.

One of the best wine bars I’ve been to worldwide and one that captures the essence of being a wine bar; true warmth and hospitality by Diogo and his team, excellent selection and care of cheeses (served at room temparature) and not to be forgotten a brilliant concise wine selection. Think local Portugese gems, but also wines from Rouget, Lopez de Heredia and Jules Brochet. If you’re into wines, don’t miss this when in Porto.

The sight of folks getting their wines from a vending machine adds an intriguing touch. Personally, I greatly appreciated the unhurried pace that allowed me to fully savour my wine. If you happen to find yourself in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend giving ViniPortugal a whirl.

Very nice place in the center of Porto. We have tasted some really good wines here. Julia provided a great overview of the wines and regions and made some good suggestions. Cecilia recommended one of her favorites "Abandonado". Not cheap, but for sure one of the best wines we have tasted. We also can recommend Porto wines, all we tasted were good. My personal favorite during the tasting was Quinta Da Devesa Porto, 30 years. If you are in Porto and would like to taste good wines and at the same time have a pleasant experience, visit this place! Once more thank you to Julia and Cecilia for the good time!

We’ve booked the wine tasting for red wines and it was an amazing experience thank to our lovely sommelier Ronél who was impeccable. She made a beautiful selection of wines and made sure to explain everything about the regions and the caracteristics of each one. She’s very knowledgeable and passionate about Portuguese wine. Really cool opportunity to try a bunch of really nice wines - you can totally taste the differences - and get some really expert recommendations from the staff. The pricing by the card is really nice because it's so easy to mix and match

4 stars only because the actual tasting was very good and the wines were very good. The ambiance isn't great, though. The room echoes too much and the lighting isn't ideal to properly see the wine.

We had a great 4 ports tasting with a super friendly and attentive host who gave us a lot of interesting details about making port and the wine industry in Portugal. The tasting room is small and off the tourist area so we got to have a individualised and relaxing tasting experience. The ports were delicious and they were accompanied by bread, cheese as well as olive oil and honey made by the same producer. Solar dos Drogos is a great choice if you want something less touristy and more intimate. It may not have the wine cave setting but at least I felt we got a more unique and personal experience with high quality ports. João was a super host!

After an underwhelming stop at Sandman, we stumbled upon Solar do Dragos and instantly knew we had found something special. Our host, Andrea's expertise and the exquisite selection of wines and ports surpassed our expectations. Don't make the same mistake we did - skip the overpriced options and head straight to Solar do Dragos for a memorable tasting journey.

Amazing wine tasting place! Andrea was super knowledgeable about the wine, the producer, and the whole production of the wines and the regions. She made our experience truly incredible! We ordered a cheese and meats board that paired perfectly with the whole wine tasting experience. The board was all local products and some even from the wine producers themselves. I recommend this place for anyone interested in learning and trying Portuguese wines and even getting some interesting facts on the history of Portuguese wine. Here you will have much more than just a usual wine tasting!

Amazing wine tasting experience! Andrea was a great 'tour guide' in our portugal wine tour (and the wines were sooooo good). The place looks like a little store but do yourself a favour and book a wine tasting with them, you won't regret it!

Our wine tasting plans somewhere else got suddenly cancelled, and we walked in here unplanned - it was the best thing ever! They welcomed us well and offered the best wine tasting experience. The amount of wine glasses we had on the table was crazy

What a gem! This beautiful little restaurant and port shop is hidden in the backstreets, and is not to be missed! Highly recommend if you’re looking for port wine tasting. We paid 14 euros for 5 ports (which is so reasonable). They have indoor and outdoor seating, with such a welcoming vibe and friendly service.

Great place for wine tasting and definitely fair prices. If I had enough time in the city, I would go there for the second time to try the wines that I haven’t tasted yet. Greetings to warm and helpful staff. 🌸

My husband stopped, and I stopped in here for some charcuterie and a Port wine tasting. The service was great and the Port wine was very good. The atmosphere was very nice and lots of seating available!

October 14, 2023. Saturday. Breakfast. My wife and I were looking for a spot to eat something before our early tour of the nearby Sandeman port wine cellars. We didn't want to sample five port wines on an empty stomach. Luckily, we stumbled upon this cafe down a nearby alley way. They had a good selection of breakfast baguettes and lunch sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers. The drink offerings included soda, hot beverages, coffee and adult beverages. I ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice (1.40 euros) and baguette atum e ovo cozido/tuna and hard boiled egg baguette (4 euros). This cafe is old, with real stone walls. Food came quickly and tasted surprisingly good. Loved the cold, fresh squeezed glass of vitamin C and the baguette came overflowing with tuna and perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs. A large baguette for sure. Great food in an unassuming place.

Hidden gem amongst the bigger (and more expensive) names. Atmosphere is far better than the bigger names. Food is great, service is intimate, wine is fantastic.

Loved this wine bar! Intimate and cozy setting with a great vibe. Paio do Lomba took such good care of us. The meat & cheese board was a 10/10—the pumpkin jam, thinly sliced cured meat, and sheep’s cheese were the best we’ve ever had. We did a tasting and enjoyed every Portuguese wine we tried.

Great place! Amazing port wines, and Vasily makes the tasting really special — he knows everything about them and explains each one with passion. The food from Chef Pavel is delicious and beautifully served. Super friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. We celebrated a family occasion here and even got a lovely gift from Dogma. Thank you🫶

Maybe I was expecting too much. I was a little disappointed with the number of local wines included on the wine list and that they seemed to start around €50 a bottle. I have had many very acceptable local wines starting around €18 a bottle. The service was good and knowledgeable which is always good We ordered a cheese and meat board to go alongside the bottle of wine. Again at €21 I found it to be the top end of what we have paid in Porto. Would I return probably not. Not enough variety to merit a return trip

Our Sommelier was amazing and gave us a great tasting experience for a very reasonable price. I learned more about wine and the Portugal regions and wineries than any other place I have been in Portugal.

My wife and I visited Dogma a couple of times and had amazing experiences both times. The owner guided us through a wine tasting and we didn't want to leave so we ordered a glass of our favorite wine from the tasting and that was followed with some port. On our second visit we had wine & port and ended up having a great conversation with a nice young English couple. Unfortunately, we never got a chance to try the amazing entrees they serve but I guess that will have to wait until our next visit. I highly recommend a visit to this semi-hidden gem!

Stumbled across this wine bar in researching our trip to Porto as it stood out having Vinho Verde tastings compared to Ports. I highly recommend coming here if you want to taste other regions beyond Duoro/Ports and are unable to make a day trip to the Vinho Verde region. You can tell the wines are carefully selected as they each had great stories as to how each wine was made - and they were all delicious. Overall, we absolutely loved our experience! The top notch charcuterie, the wines we tasted, and enjoyed the company of Pierre who hosted our tasting. Only regret was having a dinner reservation booked too soon after our tasting - Would have loved to stay to chat and relax with a glass of the wine we tasted. The tasting was also very easy to reserve direct on the website. Thanks so much for a wonderful time! I will be recommending you all to friends who are looking for Porto recommendations :)

If you are in/ going to Porto, you have to experience Rafa’s wine and cheese tasting. It’s small and intimate and we learned so much and enjoyed some amazing wine, cheese and bread. I can’t wait to go back next time I’m in Porto and will be recommending to everyone interested in wine. Rafa is great and so knowledgeable. I’m looking forward to keeping in touch.

Excellent shop just out of the main tourist centre. Very helpful and informative owner, sensible prices that cover good value up to the more decadent end. Small yield vineyards as well as bigger names are featured.

They are passionate about what they do. Very knowledgeable and friendly and helped a lot for purchasing for friends back home. Both of them were patient and gave lot of inputs and explained lot of details and it’s worth the walk to their store. They even helped with packing it safely for flight travel. If you need to buy some local vinho go here and they will give best advice.

Excellent. I bought a bottle of Vino Verde with them. This being the first time I’m buying such wine, they explained its origins and the different types of grapes to me — I couldn’t have felt treated any better, and their shop is just plain gorgeous. They have a wonderful selection of wines, from traditional to more exotic natural wines .. give it a shot, it’s worth it.

An absolutely fantastic place with a great atmosphere and a large selection of quality wines, beers, and a wide variety of other drinks too. You can also buy the wines to take away with you. The bar has been furbished in a way which gives it a welcoming and trendy feel, but it is appealing to people of all ages. Furthermore, the owner is a great guy; really friendly a pleasure to talk to. I would highly recommend the Lagrima Wine Bar to everyone.

Did a tasting here and was very impressed! I’ve done a few port tastings in Porto so far and these wines were my absolute favorites. The environment is also very pretty and calm.

Today is the happiest day of my porto visit by far, and the highlight starts with the pleasant experience here. Got the classic set of wine tasting, 5 glass of different types of port wine, all very unique and tasty, comes with still water and some biscuits(they looks like digest biscuit but nice). I am not a wine person at all but I can enjoy port wine, try to tell the difference of the taste after a very clear explanation. It is not too busy today so I have the chance to really talk with the guy(I even forgot to ask for the name), having some conversation about the wine, travel and culture. Planned to stay here for 45 mins but the wine and chat was so nice, I stayed for full 3 hours. Gonna be a precious memory for a long time. Brought some wine after the tasting, very reasonable and affordable price! (Even feels like too cheap for the quality after I visited paris and belgium...)
