The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and tasteful design, making it an inviting spot to unwind after exploring the bustling streets filled with historic charm and modern conveniences.
We eat a hambúrguer and Rice with pataniscas, it was delicious! The francesinha sauce is very good to

This is a big place with a couple of TVs showing soccer games. We walked right in and sat down and our server was attentive and friendly. This was an expensive dinner for a couple pasta items and a bottle of wine. Total cost was 92 Euro with tip. I recommend the calzone and the feta salad. I do not recommend either of the pasta in the drum dishes. Where they spin the pasta inside of a Parmesan cheese drum. Pasta was very bland. We use the juices from the calzone to give the pasta flavor. Also, there are no Portuguese food options on the menu. I came to Portugal to eat Portuguese food, not Italian food. We will be careful and do more research before choosing the next restaurant. Also, the wine is only available by the bottle and was 30 bucks for a local bottle of wine.

Very nice menu. Variety of standard and unique options. Picture is of sandwich called The French Queen. May need to return for another tomorrow. Wife had sea bream, which she loved. Too full for dessert, but they looked good. . Casual and family friendly. Reasonably priced.

Hotel
Torel Palace Porto is a recently opened boutique hotel located in the heart of Porto, with a rich history dating back to 1861. The grand building has been meticulously restored, preserving its original charm and character. The hotel offers vintage-chic accommodations, including 24 rooms and suites named after Portuguese writers or poets. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, spa facilities, and an elegant restaurant called Blind, paying homage to Portuguese writer Jose Saramago.
We had a wonderful stay at the boutique Torel Palace Porto. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. This historic site, a former palace converted to a boutique hotel, was the perfect choice for my husband, who loves literature. Every room is named after a Portuguese author, and we were thrilled with the "Royal Suite", which was spacious and ornate. With plenty of room to unpack and move around, it was ideal for our family of three. Our windows offered a stunning view of a charming narrow street lined with colorful tiled buildings. The literary theme continued on the first floor with hanging books and a library. We also enjoyed the port tasting, a small-group experience that was both instructive and delicious. Dinner at 1 Michelin-starred Blind was fantastic and fun! We highly recommend this hotel for its well-rounded excellence in service, decor, staff, food, and location.
Vivian W — Google review
The hotel and staff are simply amazing. Location is within walking distance to most places. The staff was very attentive to our preferences, which was impressive. The bathroom lighting is very dark and the marble floors very slippery. The carpet in my room had several stains, but other than that very clean.
Kirk H — Google review
One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t recommend it more highly and can’t wait to come back!
Jess L — Google review
Loved our stay at this lovely hotel. The rooms, breakfast in the Blind cafe and drinks in the bar were excellent. The service was excellent and accommodating as well. The barman that likes to ride bikes was especially kind as we had a 12 hour flight delay and had snacks and sodas a few times. The staff allowed us to freshen up and change after we needed to check out but toured Porto a bit due to a flight delay. Much appreciated!
S C — Google review
I did not stay the night here but I would love to - it looks absolutely gorgeous. When my boyfriend was in Porto and I was in the US, I emailed the staff here (at 2am their time) to help arrange pre-payment for my boyfriend to have a surprise breakfast at the buffet that morning for his birthday. I also asked them print out a birthday message for him (which they did and made sure it got to him upon arrival!). As this was considered an “urgent” request, they responded to my email in less than 10 minutes and were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and accommodating to help make his birthday special! He said the food was absolutely delicious too!! Thank you Tiago & Ricardo & your whole staff!!
Rachel O — Google review
Beautiful hotel in a great Porto location. The service was incredible. Amazing breakfast. A special shout out to Bruna who checked us in and Claudio who was kind enough to provide us with a glass of port at the end of our evening. Both employees went above and beyond for us and we greatly appreciate it.
BW S — Google review
Beautiful hotel, wonderful hospitality and location, with awesome breakfast. While the room was gorgeous, it had several maintenance issues: the towel bar fell off the wall of the shower, one nightstand lamp was falling apart and barely stood up, we couldn't figure out how the hot tub drained and found broken glass on the patio and both electrical outlets were falling out of the wall in the bathroom.
Carin B — Google review
I can’t comment on the rooms but the staff is absolutely incredible. They had a flood and couldn’t connect with us prior so when we got there they hustled to find us other accommodations we were happy with. Tiego and Bruna are kind and wonderful.

Beautiful location with amazing views. Wish we could stay longer! The included spa area is amazing and really fun to enjoy, with multiple saunas and showers. The receptionist that showed us everything and our room was great and really helpful as well! (I think her name was Maria, sorry I can’t remember!)
Harrison W — Google review
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our allocated room was spacious and well appointed. We had a phenomenal view of Porto. The location was great for the view but maybe not the best for exploring Porto. The service level was excellent. We enjoyed the tour of the wine cellar which was a highlight of our stay here. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future and would recommend this hotel to any of our friends or family.
Patrick T — Google review
My review is specific for the restaurant. This 2 star Michelin restaurant has been the best Michelin star restaurant I’ve ever been to. The service was top notch, each of the place within the chef experience was exquisite. The cocktails and wine selection were also excellent. I definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come back.
Alicia H — Google review
Do not miss a stay here! Recommended by a friend. Best hotel I have stayed at in Europe. The service was impeccable. The rooms incredible and the location is amazing. Breakfast was over the top delicious. Get a cappuccino when you have breakfast. Will come back.
Theresa F — Google review
Truly awesome experience. I feel that lately, my fancy hotel experience is lacking, but not here. The staff was attentive and friendly. Room service was actually good food and hot when it came to the room. They have 2 pools, a workout room, 3 bars, 2 restaurants, and they own the WOW... world if wine. Proper turndown service, fluffy robes, our room had a balcony with a great view of the city overlooking the river. Highly recommend, we will be staying here again.
Damian K — Google review
I stayed here for three nights in April for my birthday and had an amazing experience — it truly felt special. That’s why I was absolutely shocked by what happened today. I came back just to have a drink at the bar and was rudely turned away by the lobby attendant. He told me the bar was closed, even though it clearly wasn’t. I find this behavior unacceptable and honestly disgusting. Was it because I was wearing shorts and trainers? It genuinely felt like he was looking down on me. I can’t believe such arrogance in a place I once thought was outstanding. This completely shattered the wonderful memories I had of this hotel.
Rafael M — Google review
Our absolutely favorite place in Porto, but also one of the best five star hotels to stay when we travel in South Europe. All Rooms have the most stunning views over the river Douro and Porto. Fantatic breakfast . The staff iwill do the best to make you feel like a star. They clean the room several times a day. One of the best restaurant in Portugal is located in the hotel: the gastronomic. Remember to make a reservation.

This hotel is amazing. Incredible views from every room. Incredible service in every area reception, bell hop, spa, restaurants, and the bar. Porto was the last stop through our tour of Portugal and because of The Yeatman it was our favorite city we visited. Perfect location.

InterContinental Porto - Palacio Das Cardosas, an IHG Hotel, is a luxurious 5-star accommodation housed in an elegant 18th-century palace that offers spacious rooms with picturesque views of Porto's historic center. The hotel boasts modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour gym, and a spa with three treatment rooms and a sauna.
We ended up here because we had a terrible experience with the VRBO (renters beware) though it was expensive it was so worth it. The rooms were wonderful. The beds were wonderful. The people were wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel. You can’t beat the location.
Jackie E — Google review
There are road works in front of the hotel making stopping difficult. It is very near to the railway station but a walk of 10 minutes down a steep hill to the river. The rooms are good and reception and concierge service were helpful. The restaurant is expensive but the food good but only a modest choice on the menu. The biggest problem was that I ended up with an unexpected bill on my credit card which I eventually found out was due to the hotel taking a precautionary payment to cover the evening meal. This was not explained to me until I rang the hotel for an explanation .
Chris — Google review
We recently spent 4 nights at the Intercontinental Porto on holiday. This was our first time in Porto, Portugal and we had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and enjoyable to interact with. Our stay included breakfast and their buffet/a la carte options were delicious - an incredibly spread of food with lots of variety for an international clientele, including a la carte options. All perfect to start each day before exploring the city. We loved our corner room - large, lots of light, and great views out to the plaza, train station and church. Location was great - incredibly central and walking distance to the rebeira, city sights, but within minutes to where many tours (e.g. day tours, walking tours) start - so that worked out really well. I do want to specifically call out the concierge team - Tiago and Joao. I had left something at the hotel after checking out and this team was incredibly attentive and went over and beyond to get this back to me! It's one of the larger hotels in the city so having this very personalized service from Tiago and Joao shows the commitment to their guests. Thank you!
Matt J — Google review
Staying at the InterContinental Porto was a memorable experience. The location is fantastic, right on Praça da Liberdade, which means the energy of the city is visible from your room. Watching the square from my window was a highlight, seeing people go about their day while the architecture and fountains added to the charm. It makes you feel connected to the city in a way that few hotels can offer. The room itself was spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable. The furnishings were elegant without feeling over the top, and the bed made it easy to relax after a day of exploring Porto. The attention to detail in the room made it feel luxurious while still inviting. The staff were outstanding. They were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful, offering recommendations and assistance whenever needed. Their presence made the stay feel personal and welcoming. The hotel overall is opulent, from the lobby to the restaurants and lounges, yet it never feels cold or unapproachable. It balances luxury with warmth in a way that is rare. If you are visiting Porto and want excellent service, a prime location, and a sense of style and comfort, the InterContinental Porto is an excellent choice. It makes your time in the city feel special.
John J — Google review
Excellent location, in the city hall square. Rooms are spacious and very good. The staff are very helpful. Walking distance to most sites. Do not miss the Cathedral Porto. The only think I can suggest for improvement is the water pressure. Would love to stay here again.
Hari R — Google review
First time to stay at the Intercont in Porto, definitely a great experience overall. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is superb, right in the center with easy accessibility across shopping districts. Rooms were very clean, would definitely stay there again.
Sam F — Google review
Exceptional property with even better staff. Great location next to to the train station. Easy walk to everything in the city. As others noted there is a major construction project in front of the property which my room was directly above but it wasn't an issue. Construction was done during normal work hours and wrapped up at appropriate times. Give a call ahead to ask about parking options, they have a few designated spots for guests arriving that can be easy to miss.
Chris W — Google review
This is a luxury iconic hotel located at downtown Porto and used to be a palace. I love the sparkling chandeliers hanging at the lobby and the curvy staircases up to the first floor. There is also an outdoor patio for you to enjoy your cocktails and food. The room is big and beautifully decorated (feel like a palace room) The staff is super attentive and friendly.

11Grande Hotel do Porto

Hotel
The Grande Hotel do Porto is a 3-star establishment located on one of Porto's busiest streets, rua Santa Catarina. This 19th-century building exudes a refined atmosphere and is an ideal spot for enjoying a weekend brunch before indulging in some shopping in the city. With its rich history dating back to 1880, this hotel has been a preferred choice for diplomats, politicians, artists, and nobility visiting the city.
You simply can't beat the location. Right on one of the main pedestrian areas with good cafes close by (1min away from Majestic Cafe) and an easy 15-20min stroll down to the river. It's on "old style" hotel, well maintained. We had a family room on level 4 and it was clean, quiet and a comfortable retreat. Staff members are friendly and supportive; given advise and recommendations generously. The only negative is the breakfast buffet, which severely lacks in quality. Not bad enough though to deduct a point from the overall rating. Highly recommend this hotel!
Laurent R — Google review
Best location to see the city. Late check in was efficient and nice, our bell boy was super polite. We were stunned by being in such a historic place, and pleased that facilities were fully functional and luxurious. Francisco and Isabel at the front desk were kind enough to tell us some of their stories working there and shared via email the brief story of the hotel. Angelo, the server at the restaurant is always on point, we were pampered. Great price value ratio, the best in town, highly recommend. You have the amazing beauty of the city right in front of your eyes everywhere you look in this hotel. The bartender at the lobby is super efficient and the chicken wings were delicious, our check out was also super friendly. Everyone was doing their best to make us feel great. Gym is small, there is a lovely chocolate store right next door.

I’m not a serial reviewer and generally look for the good in my experiences. This hotel has a good location in a pedestrianised st near the main market. That’s where it ends. Let’s start with the welcome. The receptionist looked so tired I asked if if she was ok. She passed me the keys which didn’t work on two occasions with one staff member blaming the other. Next the breakfast which was poor and I heard more than one person comment. It felt like there was drive to save money not provide a great meal to set off a long walking day in Porto. One our first day there was one coffee machine serving a full room with the resulting queues and frustrations. I saw bored staff cleaning table crumbs directly onto the chairs instead of onto a tray. I chose a suite because we like a bath and most rooms in Porto don’t have one. The room was acceptable but I reported a leak in the toilet cistern twice and had to wait in the room for someone to come . Apparently the person I reported it to didn’t feel it was important enough first time . I asked to have some milk for my coffee but apparently they don’t offer that said another staff member deposited there being a mini fridge in the room. No milk substitutes either. Weird. The main issue for me is the staff seemed so bored and uncaring throughout the hotel and I would avoid and won’t be going back.

Stopped here for city break and was blown away how grand the hotel was. The door way was small then it opens up. Beautiful public rooms which have beautiful seating which we used having our last drink from the bar. Beautiful cocktail's made freshly. Our room was big enough for us with very high ceilings. We were at the back so quiet. Clean and well maintained. You are charged for the coffees you use 1.25 a euro each, down size no milk and very small cups. Breakfast was buffet style, nice choice all hot and freshly renewed as required. Attentive staff. Would recommend this hotel, positioned well for the market which is a must to go to. Lovely restaurants and cafes nearby .It is about a 20 minute walk up from the river. Restaurants would recommend the one opposite . Can't remember the full name but it is a green restaurant. Busy, self service, cakes in the front then opens up to a big restaurant. Good choice on menu of meat, fish and vegetarian. Food delicious and we had a very tasty wine and all was reasonably priced. Also we ate at Bolhao a gusto. It is a climb from the river but only about 20 minutes walk.

We were so pleasantly surprised with how wonderful this hotel was! It was located on one of the busiest streets for shopping, yet by the evening, the streets were quiet and beautiful to walk around. The hotel itself was old and charming, the staff were all extremely friendly and willing to help! Breakfast had the same options each day, but there was plenty of variety and something for everyone to enjoy. We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel and would highly recommend it!

PROS: Location- center of the city, all shops and cafes right outside hotel. Exterior noise- no car noises, no people, no honking. Cleanliness- very clean room and bathrooms Decor- old historic charm, very unique “boutique” hotel. Amenities- nice breakfast and dinner options on site, lovely bar and plenty of sitting areas to gather and chat. Comfort- beds and pillows are comfortable CONS: Parking- no onsite parking, no valet, must “find” nearby parking garage and walk luggage down to hotel. Not good for children or elderly. Space- “family room” very tight space and fold out bed fits only 1 kid- not 2 like suggested. ***Air conditioning- only works for lower level in the family room. Upstairs adult space is HOT & HUMID- no air circulation. ***Indoor noise- thin walls, wooden floors, hear STOMPING all night long!!! *** biggest problem why I will not return***

Nice place in the middle of the city on a pedestrian walkway. Noisy but it’s in the busy city of Porto. I was on a tour and stayed an extra 2 days. The food was good and most of the staff were accommodating. One staff member however refused to give me silverware to use in my room and that left a bad taste IMO. I went to the reception desk they sent me to the bar, then he sent me to the kitchen where I was told I have to order room service in order to get the silverware I needed😳🤦🏻‍♀️

Torel Avantgarde is an upscale boutique hotel in Porto, offering stylish rooms and stunning views of the Douro River. Nestled on a hillside, it provides a serene retreat just a short walk from the city center. The hotel's design is inspired by the Avante-Garde era, with artistic touches throughout its 49 rooms.
I had an amazing stay at this boutique hotel! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with thoughtful treats and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The hotel’s modern design is stylish yet comfortable, making the whole experience feel fresh and inviting. I stayed in a standard and superior rooms, the latter one is spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable — the perfect mix of elegance and functionality. Breakfast was a real highlight: delicious, varied, and served on a beautiful terrace with stunning views — the perfect way to start the day. The staff deserves a special mention. They were not only very helpful and accommodating but also went the extra mile to ensure I had a great stay. They even provided a curated list of restaurants catering to every taste, which made exploring the local dining scene so much easier and enjoyable. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, welcoming, and memorable.

Stayed here last year and loved it. This time around it was not so good. Rooms are still good. Location good too. But service was underrated. A handful of staff members were fantastic. But overall The hotel seemed a bit understaffed. And many of the staff members seem poorly trained or not trained at all. Staff was still very friendly just the service was not up to the standard of the hotel or the price of the room. I’d suggest to hotel management to hirer more staff members and implement better training.

Overall had a lovely stay! Cute hotel, small but comfy rooms, nice pool area with amazing view, but overall still a lot of money for what you get in my opinion as everything looked a bit dated. The staff at the breakfast really did their best but service was way too slow and several orders were not coming through or coming way too late on several days which is not really what I expect at this price point. Staff at the lobby was super friendly and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Location is great, 10 min walk to the centre and the Uber is very cheap too.

Our stay at Torel Avantgarde was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and grace — Danielle, Innis, Fernando, Alberto, Adam, and Rosa embodied true hospitality. Their service was intuitive, genuine, and elevated every moment of our stay. The hotel itself is a living gallery — every corner a curated expression of art and imagination. The hanging flowers and the iconic flower wall create a dreamlike atmosphere, perfectly balanced by sweeping views of Porto that seem almost too beautiful to be real. Breakfast was an experience all its own — DEEEEELICIOUS doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every bite was crafted with care, a perfect start to days spent exploring a city that’s easily walkable from the hotel’s prime location. Torel Avantgarde isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a celebration of art, flavor, and connection. We would return in a heartbeat. 🌸✨ P.S. Go to Incontro Bistrot for dinner… come back and thank me later😉

We stayed at Totel Avantgarde on the recommendation of our friends who stayed here in 2024. We came at the perfect time of year (last weekend of August) and were able to enjoy the hotel’s outdoor pool and amenities. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and are always there if you need any help with anything (from parking to tourist recommendations). The hotel is clean and incredibly comfortable - we can’t remember the last time we slept so well! The location is perfect; within walking distance to the old town and major tourist attractions, but in a quiet area so you can get rest and relaxation. I would definitely stay here again!
Julianne — Google review
The hotel is by no means 5 stars, it’s a correct 4. The rooms have no light, there are 2 small wall lamps and that’s it, practically impossible to do anything after it’s dark outside. The bathroom design is terrible, there is no bathroom door and only a sliding (doesn’t close fully) window to the toilet. Terrible for non-solo travelling. Breakfast is good, location is good just outside busy center but with easy access to cool spots.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Torel Avantgarde during our recent visit to Porto and we could'nt have loved the hotel anymore!!! From our wonderful and comfortable rooms to the kind, welcoming and helpful hotel staff, to the great amenities on site, including the pool, continental breakfast and views of the Douro and city of Porto, everything was just wonderful! We would highly recommend Hotel Torel Avantgarde for anyone looking for a sophisticated yet comfortable boutique hotel close to the center of historic Porto! Thanks for a wonderful experience! My family and I will definitely be back!

Relative to the price (695 euros for one night, including parking and breakfast), this was indeed a terrible, poorly maintained property. The staff was wonderful and attentive - no complaints there. See photos for tired and worn conditions of our room. Fixtures peeling, chipped, falling off the walls, improperly installed, old, dusty, and generally unclean. The jacuzzi was empty of water and nonfunctional. The indoor “heated” pool was not the slightest warm. We had NO hot water this morning at 9 am for our showers. We sat for 30 minutes and waited for our omelettes while one person cooked eggs for approximately 30 people who were present for the B- breakfast. Yes, the hotel is artfully designed and interesting. But those accolades are entirely overshadowed by mold and dust and peeling caulk.

Rita Azevedo was friendly, personable and provided excellent service to us. It was my husband’s birthday and the staff brought dessert with a candle with champagne and all sang Happy Birthday. The food was delicious! Excellent quality and presented well. We would definitely return! Thank you Rita! You are the best!

Fantastic Hotel! From the moment we walked in and were welcomed by Rita T. until the time we checked out, the entire staff was friendly. Stayed here in January but since the experience was so great, I felt compelled to ensure I wrote a review. Location is convenient and quiet. Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Breakfast is delicious. Absolutely fantastic experience! When we come back to Porto, this is where we'll stay! Thank you Rita T. for the amazing hospitality!

We stumbled on this lovely restaurant as we wandered around Porto on our first day here. I had the mushroom and bean stew, the bread starter and my partner had the tiger prawns. They were huge! The food was delicious, the staff (especially Ines and Jorge) are very kind and the location was within walking distance of where we stayed. I will definitely be returning to try the gorgeous desserts!

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel restaurant thanks to Eduardo's service. From the very beginning, he was very friendly, attentive, and professional. Thank you, Eduardo, for your excellent service! I would definitely return for the treatment and quality of service.

5-star hotel with a fantastic restaurant and relaxing cafe. The rooms are big, modern, first class, very clean. The service staff are friendly, particularly the front desk. Very accommodating. Great location that is close to everything. And one of the best reasons to be there is that the hotel has its own big café with a ton of indoor and outdoor seating where you can just sit back, relax, sip espresso, and people-watch. Highly recommend.

Porto A.S. 1829 Hotel is a charming boutique hotel located in the heart of Old Town Porto, nestled in a 19th-century building that was once home to one of Europe's oldest printing and stationery shops. The hotel pays homage to its historic roots with a print theme running throughout, featuring old typewriters, wooden printer cabinets, and historic photos. The elegant rooms offer understated luxury, some with city views and freestanding bathtubs for a romantic touch.
From the moment I arrived at Porto A.S. 1829 Hotel, I was enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The breathtaking architecture, steeped in history, immediately caught my eye and set the stage for a memorable stay. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and exceptional service, ensuring that my experience was nothing short of perfect. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel, from the decor to the amenities, truly reflects a commitment to guest satisfaction. My room was a haven of comfort, beautifully appointed with modern touches while still honoring the building's rich heritage. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches that made my stay even more enjoyable. Location-wise, Porto A.S. 1829 Hotel is ideally situated, allowing easy access to some of the city's most iconic attractions. After a day of exploring, I relished returning to the hotel for a cozy evening, where I could unwind with a drink and soak in the ambiance - outdoors. Overall, my experience at Porto A.S. 1829 Hotel was nothing short of magical. I left with cherished memories and a desire to return. If you're looking for a place that combines history, comfort, and impeccable service, I wholeheartedly recommend you try it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect—you're close to everything you could possibly need, from restaurants and shops to key attractions. The staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay, and the overall experience was fantastic. The only odd moment was one morning when a front desk staff member recommended we eat at Starbucks, claiming everything nearby was closed due to a holiday. But when we stepped outside, we found that nearly all the restaurants in plain view from the lobby were open. So while the service overall was great, I'd suggest double-checking any local recommendations, especially when it comes to food. That said, I'd absolutely stay here again. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms had a charming, welcoming feel. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic location for a hotel! It just seemed like it was in the middle of everything and nothing was a terribly long walk. We enjoyed the breakfast served by the hotel in the morning and our room was very nice. Being in the center of the action was fantastic and knowing that the hotel houses the oldest stationery store in Europe run by the same family was extra special.
Linda E — Google review
The hotel is in a lovely area of Porto—easy walking distance to many great restaurants, shops, and sights. The building has charm and character, and the overall atmosphere is nice. However, the main reason we booked Porto 1829 Hotel was because of the photos and descriptions on the booking site that highlighted a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub. Many pictures featured it prominently, and we were really looking forward to that experience. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our room had only a shower and looked quite different from what was advertised. I asked the front desk if we could be moved to a room with a tub, but was told there are only two in the entire hotel and both were already taken. It was disappointing, especially since that was a key reason for choosing this hotel. I wish the listings had made it clearer that the bathtubs are limited and not standard in every room. Overall, the stay was fine, but I left feeling a bit misled.

We had a great stay at Porto A.S. 1829 Hotel – a true boutique experience in the heart of Porto. The location is perfect, with easy access to great restaurants, cultural sights, and vibrant nightlife. The service was friendly and professional throughout our visit. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection and quality ingredients. This is an ideal place for a 1–2 night city stay – stylish, central, and comfortable.

Amazing stay at this property. Incredible location and the staff was exceptional. Mariana at the front desk was elite. I checked in early with my fiance and the room we were originally given was a little too noisy for us as the street outside can get rather lively. Mariana promptly changed our room and even gave us a free upgrade. The rooms are great although as an american from Florida the AC was a little lacking (as to be expected in Europe). Breakfast was great and had an amazing stay. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Porto!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Porto. Our original reservation at an Airbnb fell through last minute, and the hotel staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They welcomed us warmly and made what could’ve been a stressful situation feel seamless. It was my first time staying abroad, and their kindness and professionalism truly made a difference. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had—fresh, delicious, and a great way to start each day. Anytime we had a concern, the staff addressed it right away. I even accidentally lost my AirPods, and they were incredibly responsive and helpful in finding them in the linens. The hotel’s location is also fantastic—central and convenient for exploring all that Porto has to offer. I’m so grateful for the hospitality we received and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

Absolutely amazing hotel. Our first trip to Porto and we definitely chose a fabulous hotel. Very central on a pedestrianised street with beautiful shops, restaurants and entertainment. Our room was wonderful. We had a superb view across the city. Every facility was present even a walk in wardrobe. High end toiletries by Rituals. The food was delicious. Everything you could wish for at breakfast. We had tapas boards some evenings in the bar and these were brilliant too. Wonderful cocktails too. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had the Starlight Dinner which was absolutely superb. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Had an amazing experience at PortoBay. I stayed at (I think) the newer structure, and the interior was clean and modern. The view was overlooking Porto which was lovely to wake up to. They have a breakfast buffet, and room service was great for when you’re too tired from all the walking. The location can’t be beat too, the Duoro river is within walking distance, pretty much all the attractions. The street where the hotel is at is mostly pedestrian and is inaccessible to Bolt/Uber but they can book a car for you for the airport/train station. I didn’t get to use the amenities but the experience was still, overall five-star

Nestled in the picturesque district of Foz, Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is a stunning blend of modern luxury and historical charm. Housed within a beautifully restored 19th-century villa, this elegant hotel boasts seven unique rooms that feature exquisite stucco ceilings and wooden floors. An impressive extension adds another 61 contemporary rooms designed by Nini Andrade de Silva, complete with flowing wooden headboards that mimic ocean waves.
My husband and I had the immense pleasure of staying at Vila Foz Hotel & Spa to celebrate our third wedding anniversary, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From start to finish, the entire experience was wonderful. The staff were truly great, and it genuinely felt as though nothing was too much trouble for them, which added so much to our stay. A particular highlight was the cocktail-making experience with Diogo. He was fantastic, and he made the session so special and personal for us. We would absolutely, without a doubt, recommend this experience to anyone staying at the hotel. It was a perfect and memorable way to celebrate. Beyond the exceptional service and experiences, our balcony room was a true highlight, offering stunning sea views that we enjoyed every morning. It was an absolute delight to have breakfast on the terrace, soaking up the beautiful Porto sunshine whilst enjoying the incredible food. Thank you, Vila Foz, for a truly amazing stay!

Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is a beautifully restored mansion that blends old-world charm with modern luxury. Just steps from the Atlantic, it offers stunning ocean views and a serene atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxing escape. Rooms are spacious, tastefully designed, and well-equipped with high-end touches like memory foam beds and designer bathroom amenities. Many feature balconies or terraces overlooking the sea – a definite highlight. The staff are warm and professional, creating a sense of understated luxury from the moment you arrive. From the welcome drink to the valet and concierge services, you feel well looked after. The spa, indoor pool, and sauna also provide a peaceful haven after exploring the city. Vila Foz features two on-site restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Vila Foz, known for its refined seafood-focused tasting menus served in an opulent, historic dining room. The bar is also worth mentioning – the barkeeper makes an excellent Bloody Mary, probably one of the best in town. Breakfast, on the other hand, only just meets expectations. It’s fresh and adequate, but nothing special for a hotel of this calibre. A few other minor areas could be improved: the pool area could use more loungers, and service – while generally excellent – varies slightly depending on the staff member. These small details prevent a perfect score but don’t overshadow the overall experience. A luxurious and memorable stay in Porto, ideal for those who appreciate sophisticated design, excellent food, and a touch of the sea breeze. Vila Foz delivers calm elegance with just a few areas left to perfect

I can't say enough how much we loved our stay in Villa Foz. We didn't want to leave. The staff from the valet to the reception to the wait staff were very accommodating and welcoming. They gave us a room early as we were in a bind leaving a bad Airbnb. They even went out of the way to help us stay in another room when they had little availability. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely trip. The rooms are lovely and clean and very well appointed. This is an excellent location for calming relaxation yet close to the city. Every detail was on point and all of needs were met and expectations exceeded. Excellent food even on the kids menus. Don't hesitate..book it!

AVOID THIS PLACE! Absolutely terrible experience! The management clearly cares more about their policies than the comfort and needs of their guests. They canceled our reservation without informing us—we only found out when we arrived, with no heads up or apology. To make matters worse, they refused to let our 12-year-old use the pool at any time during our stay. If you're traveling with children, DO NOT stay here! Beatriz, the so-called manager, couldn't have been more unhelpful- doesn’t care!!! Additionally they left us standing on the street with our bags at 6:30 pm, and didn’t even offer to help us find another hotel or give us a ride. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other hotels out there that will actually care about their guests! Avoid the stress and book somewhere else.

The front desk helped with arranging pickup services from a rental car facility and was open for help in any city reservations. Breakfast was fantastic and worth using! 100% will return again when back in Porto!

Beautiful hotel with elegant design and excellent service. Spacious, quiet rooms made the stay feel like royalty, and the early check-in was a wonderful touch. Attentive staff and a great location for exploring Porto. Highly recommend.

I stayed at Torel 1884 and really enjoyed it. The hotel has two buildings — one for the main hotel and another for apartments. If you plan to dine, it’s best to do so in the main hotel building, where there’s also a nice lounge area to relax. The location is perfect, right in the tourist area with lots of restaurants and everything within walking distance. It recently received a Michelin Key, and I’d say it truly deserves it — great value for money. They also offer complimentary sparkling wine, which is a lovely touch.

Nice hotel and apartment complex. The buildings are not eye catching on the outside but the inside are well decorated and maintained daily. The service was on par with other 5-star hotels. Our apartment rooms were well cleaned daily with new bedding, towels, and bathrobes. It was restocked with water and coffee daily. They can tell that they also provide nightly turn down service with restocking, redo bedding, and some chocolates. This has been a much better experience than our previous self proclaimed "5-star resort" in Faro, Portugal.

I stayed for 2 nights at the apartment which is in a different building. The room was spacious and within walking distance of every major landmark, yet it is private enough that you couldn’t hear a thing outside when the window’s closed. Most importantly, I only paid ~€325 per night + breakfast which is crazy value for money. If I had to nitpick, I would change the knobs in the shower and buy a new hairdryer because it does not serve its function well anymore.

Great location, loved the room and overall design. From check in, daily housekeeping to breakfasts to check out, everything was made seamless by the warm hospitality of the team. Especially Jorge and team who always welcome us with a smile every morning during breakfast and giving us fuel to start each day!

Absolutely loved my stay here. The hotel has so much character and exquisite detail. Conveniently located within walking distance of most things. More over the staff was EXTREMELY nice and caring.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room and hotel itself were absolutely stunning, and the included breakfast and hotel restaurant far exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect to easily walk to great restaurants, shops, and the main attractions in Porto. We’ll be talking about our stay here for years to come.

Exmo. Hotel is an upscale establishment located in Porto, offering minimalist rooms and suites with a unique design. The hotel's striking ochre facade stands out among the townhouses along the Douro River, housing 16 rooms over four floors. The interior features contemporary and bold designs, including vibrant velvet armchairs against stone walls and spacious walk-in showers.
Amazing stay! Our first time in Porto was truly wonderful. This botique gem.could not have been more perfect. Our room was bigger then expected, the shower amazing and the view stunning. The staff was so warm and friendly. The breakfast was a beautiful spread of pastries, meats, cheese yogurt. Plenty to choose from with additional option of cooked to order omlette! We would recommend and stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Exmo Hotel Porto! The hotel is very stylish and modern, with a friendly and welcoming staff. The location is perfect, right in the centre, but just off the busiest areas, making it easy to explore without the crowds. Breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection of fresh and delicious options. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto!

This hotel deserves 6 stars! Honestly we loved it. The location, the staff, the room, the view (get the balcony room, you won't regret it). Attention to detail. Everything was brilliant. We will be back and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Hands down one of the best hotels and hotel experiences ever. Centrally located to the ribeira and also next to all the touristic sites, this hotel literally made us fall in love with Porto. The staff are classy - helpful without being overbearing, breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were magnificent. Next time we return to Porto we will be coming here for sure.

Our favourite hotel in Europe. Beautiful room, great view, great shower, comfortable beds, great aircon. The young lady on the front desk was friendly and eager to help and gave us great tips on where to eat. Close to the river, bridge and tourist locations. Only 10-12 euros to/from train station (we could have got public transport too).

Modern design hotel with industrial features , huge comfortable bed and spacious bathroom in a great location with friendly staff. Good breakfast options included but get your coffee elsewhere. No outside space and no real communal area.

Gran Cruz House is a charming boutique hotel located in a historic square overlooking the Douro River. The vibrant design of the hotel blends modern aesthetics with traditional elements, featuring pistachio-hued walls, mango-toned cushions, and a striking berry-red 17th-century facade. Each of its seven boutique bedrooms is uniquely inspired by Port Wine and offers original features such as balconies with picturesque views.
We stayed at Gran Cruz House for just one night, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Porto, with beautiful views of the river. Our room - RUBY - was cozy and tastefully decorated, reflecting the charm of the city. While there was some noise from the bustling streets below at night, it added to the lively atmosphere and didn’t take away from our enjoyment—it was part of the charm. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making our short stay memorable. Great breakfast overlooking the river. Also - be sure to reserve a table at their restaurant, Casario—great food with a fantastic view. We’d definitely love to come back for a longer visit.

This place is in the best possible location in Porto! I had a wonderful stay made even better by the incredible staff. I realized after departing that I left my passport in the room. Bruno arranged for it to be delivered personally to my hotel in Sintra! I couldn’t be happier with my experience.
Tamara P — Google review
This is one of the most charming hotels we've ever stayed in. The rooms are large and comfortable, and they are each carefully designed to be beautiful in a very comfortable way. The views out over the Douro River are spectacular, but the views inside the room are competitive. The delicious made to order breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river in the quiet of the morning was one of the best parts of the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, including making us up a breakfast box for our early departure the last day. My only complaint, no fault of the hotel, was the over-amplified buskers, often more loud than talented, along the river in the evening. The hotel's double pane windows were no match for the loudest, but they do quit promptly at 10:00.
Don W — Google review
We had the best stay at Gran Cruz House! The location was perfect - though busy outside, we didn’t mind the noise or the crowds too much. It was worth it to be so close to everything. The service at the restaurant was excellent. Arthur took great care of us at breakfast each morning! Would absolutely recommend staying here.

I went to the restaurant twice a few months ago and really enjoyed it. The view is beautiful, the food is delicious—both fish and meat—and the staff was super nice.
Yana V — Google review
We had a wonderful stay here, the location is perfect for tourist activities and visiting the port cellars. There is a lot of noise from the street and street performers with the windows open but the shutters do a great job of blocking it out and it’s quiet at night and early AM. Our room (Pink) had a river view and small balcony, we loved it. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good.
Megan V — Google review
The room was very nice but it was a little noisy outside the 1st night as there are lots of restaurants nearby that stay open pretty late. The shutters on the windows block out quite a bit though. Great location on the water, staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food in the restaurant is great, the menu for dinner and breakfast is a little limited but the dishes are tasty, and the complementary bottle of port in the room was tasty. The whole building is pretty compact so a few folks in the lobby make it feel pretty tight. The hotel is nicely appointed and clean. Would stay again if in the area.

The Gran Cruz House is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Porto. From the moment you step inside, you'll be struck by the hotel's warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms at the Gran Cruz House are beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds, luxurious linens, and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The hotel also features a lovely restaurant and terrace with stunning views of the river. One of the things I loved most about the Gran Cruz House was its location. The hotel is situated in the historic Ribeira district, just steps away from the Douro River and some of the city's best restaurants, bars, and attractions. It's the perfect home base for exploring Porto.

Vincci Ponte de Ferro is the newest sensation in Porto, located right next to and underneath Luiz bridge. The hotel offers polished quarters with an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and three bars, providing stunning views of the Douro River and Porto's cityscape. Its perfect location allows easy exploration of both sides of the river, with the added convenience of using the hotel's elevator to cross the bridge without having to walk up or down on the streets.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel—its location right next to the bridge is ideal. The staff were exceptional across the board, from the reception to the breakfast service and the bar. While there weren’t any hot vegan options at breakfast, there was a good selection of fresh fruit, granola, muesli, and delicious bread. Plant-based milk is available upon request, and the breakfast staff truly went above and beyond. A tofu scramble would be a great addition! We also had dinner both at the hotel restaurant and the bar—both offered delicious food with vegan options. The ambiance, service, and cleanliness throughout the hotel were all top-notch. We booked a spot in the garage, which was a bit tight but manageable and definitely appreciated. The gym was disappointing for a hotel of this level. It was really tiny with little equipment. Overall, the location and experience were excellent. Would absolutely recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Vincci Ponte de Ferro. The location is unbeatable—right beside the Ponte Luís I Bridge with stunning views of the Douro River and Porto’s historic center. My room was modern, clean, and very comfortable, and the staff were always kind and helpful. The rooftop terrace and pool were a highlight, perfect for relaxing while enjoying breathtaking city views. The breakfast buffet was fresh and varied. A perfect choice for comfort, style, and an unforgettable Porto experience!

We loved this hotel! Located right outside of Ponte Luis 1 and a major metro stop, it was so convenient to get beautiful views and easy access to many bars and restaurants. The rooms were lovely and the service was great. My fiance and I are recently engaged and the hospitality team provided us with a discounted room upgrade and complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. It was the perfect way to celebrate. Thank you for such a great stay and visit - we will be back!

Nice hotel next to the famous bridge. Clean and efficient with nice public areas. Nice couple of bars. Friendly staff ( reception a little too efficient in manners) Secure underground parking for smaller cars due to the narrow steep road. Noise from the trams and early starters off to work across the bridge but nothing to spoil the stay. Vincci tend to be good hotels and would certainly return.

It's going to be hard to beat this place. I can't imagine there is anywhere better to stay if you want to see Porto. The rooms are fantastic. The breakfast was amazing. The views from the rooms cannot be beat. The most incredible feature of the hotel is entrances at both tiers of the bridge.
Holly S — Google review
A bittersweet experience, unfortunately. That’s because sadl, the breakfast staff were not helpful at all with a very simple request: scrambled eggs with vegetables and cheese. I went for breakfast as a walk-in, paying a considerable amount (€23). For my surprise, when I asked if instead of an omelet it would be possible to order scrambled eggs with vegetables and cheese, I received a blunt answer from the braided-hair waitress: "Only what’s on the menu is available. There are scrambled eggs at the buffet." I replied that yes, there were scrambled eggs on the buffet but they were not fresh and didn’t have vegetables or cheese. To this, I was told shortly that it wouldn't be possible. I spent a few minutes not understanding the reason behind this reply, after all scrambled eggs are even easier to prepare than an omelet. So I thought maybe the server wasn’t having a good day and asked another waitress the same thing and received the same answer. I asked why such a simple request seemed so difficult to fulfill and she told me that this was the “standard” for breakfast. From that point, the atmosphere became tense and awkward, with the staff talking among themselves and looking at me while I was still there. Unbelievable. I decided to settle for the scrambled eggs from the buffet, eat quickly, and leave, since apparently that’s what I was expected to do. If the hotel doesn’t want to welcome walk-ins, then don’t. That’s better than having a team unwilling to help. It leaves guests with a sour taste from an experience that had every chance of being exceptional.

Nice room if you pay around EUR150 p.night but noisy location (facing the bridge with tramway) - earplugs needed! Old, small pool (not like the marketing pictures), next to AC machines, none of us could swim! See it as a budget 4 star hotel…

Stayed here for a weekend trip to Porto- our first. The amazing staff and the beautiful townhouse as well as the great walkable neighborhood made us fall in love and we planned another night there right away. I cannot say enough about how comfortable the townhouse is. Details are well attended to and the staff is outstanding. We will be back!

We have just stayed 5 nights in this hotel. Firstly we must say it is NOT a 5 star hotel as listed. There is no lift so you may have to haul your luggage up 3 levels. Good points: Rooms are spacious with ours having a small balcony overlooking the garden. Bed was comfortable. Staff tried to attend to our needs and assist in general hospitality matters. Bad points: For all of our 5 nights the breakfast area was not open apart from coffee and fruit juice. None of the extensive foods advertised. Each day we were given a different excuse. They suggested we get breakfast at an associated cafe about 10 mins walk away. The refrigerator in the room did not work, in spite of 3 requests and assurances that it would be. The floor in the room is incredibly creaky. You cannot go to the bathroom at night without waking your partner as it is so loud. The strange combination key system to the rooms does not seem to work consistently. We were woken by guests arriving in an adjacent room at midnight and not being able to open their door. They spent 20 minutes trying combinations and getting more and more irate. The shower is over the bath behind a glass screen. Risky access for any infirm guests. The acoustics are poor between rooms. There is no TV. I am suspicious of so many ‘rave’ reviews for this establishment. In my view it is a €100 per night 2 ½ star facility.

The location is great for walking around and exploring. Especially for the night life where most of the coolest bars are only a 10 minute walk. The rooms are elegant and simple with a very comfy bed. The hotel staff has been helpful and kind. I recommend this hotel. Be aware of the address listed under Hotels.com, it doesn’t match up when you put it into Bolt. Use the full name of the hotel rather than the physical address when booking for Bolt from either the train station or the airport.

My husband and I stayed at Rose Et Al for 4 nights and absolutely loved the experience. The staff were kind and helpful, the space was beautiful—just like the photos—and incredibly comfortable (the clawfoot tub was such a treat after a long day of exploring the city!). The food, drinks, and coffee in the café were all delicious. We were thrilled to call this place home for a few days.

I wasn't staying in hotel as ai live here, I just went for Sunday roast. I've never seen smaller and more expensive roast in my life. 27.5 euros is ridiculously expensive and what we got was one piece of pork, few potatoes, carrot, one Yorkshire pudding and little pot of gravy. We ask for more gravy but they said they don't have any more (we were the only guests at that time, so the Sunday roast just started). The flavor was good, but we all stayed hungry.

A hidden gem in Porto — where brunch dreams and boutique comfort meet. Rosa et Al Townhouse is the kind of place you wish you’d discovered sooner — a beautifully restored 19th-century townhouse tucked away in Cedofeita, blending contemporary design with warm Portuguese soul. Let’s talk brunch: it’s nothing short of iconic. From perfectly poached eggs in all forms (you’ll want to try every single version in one sitting) to mouthwatering house burgers and daily fresh juices that taste like sunshine in a glass — this is brunch heaven 🤤🤤🤤 Every dish is crafted with care, using local and seasonal ingredients, and the setting (garden or indoor) adds that extra touch of charm. Then come the supper clubs — intimate, multi-course dinners that feel more like private gatherings than restaurant service. Think seasonal menus, bold flavours, and a true showcase of creative Portuguese cooking 😍 Whether it’s brunch or dinner, the food here consistently surprised me in the best way possible. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and smartly laid out — full of light, character, and thoughtful details. You feel like you’re staying in a friend’s design-forward home, not just another hotel. What truly sets Rosa et Al apart is the team. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed like family, with personal guidance and genuine tips that make your first visit to Porto feel like a deep dive into local culture 👍👍👍 It’s one of those rare places where everything — the food, the space, the people — feels perfectly in sync. A true hidden gem that deserves to be on every design and food lover’s map 👏👏👏

Kind of cute place. Just a shame the way this Hotel treat their employees, unfortunately the owners at Rosa Et al just think about making money and forget the real meaning of serving people. Don’t waste your time going to this place, it will be expensive and not worth the price, trust me. A motel would be more interesting.

Nestled in the upscale Boavista area of Porto, Crowne Plaza Porto is a stylish 5-star hotel offering contemporary rooms and suites. The property boasts an elegant restaurant, a relaxing spa, and a chic bar. Situated just 500 meters from Bessa Football Stadium, the hotel provides valet parking, 24-hour security, and attentive housekeeping services.
Very professional and helpful check in manager, offered a glass of Porto, sorted out the issue of my Land Rover Defender not fitting into the underground car park. Rooms are perfect. Nice sound proofing. Windows can be partially opened for fresh air. The best part is the access to the Holmes gym (about 5 minutes walk) which has a great pool for laps and plenty of fitness machines. Big plus! Breakfast was excellent. I booked the club room but there is no breakfast in the club lounge (on the ground floor) - instead one gets the main breakfast included in the room rate. It was however nice to be on the Club floor (higher). I would highly recommend staying in this property in Porto.

What a wonderful Hotel which we have just completed a Five Day stay at.All of the Staff were most helpful and courteous especially the Bar Staff who appeared at times to be short staffed but were still marvelous .If you are a Tourist this Hotel might not best positioned , but Ubers are extremely cheap and plentiful which is helpful. Only things that spoiled my stay was that on the Sunday Morning prior to leaving ,when I went for Breakfast I waited 20 minutes for the Bacon to be replenished, and it never materialised , despite asking three separate members of Staff including one which was obviously a Supervisor none seemed that interested. If you insist on providing Buffet style Breakfasts then you really need to ensure that everything is topped up immediately , there was still an Hour left until the service finished.

I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza and had an outstanding experience, especially when it came to managing dietary requirements and food allergies. As someone with specific dietary needs, I often find it difficult to feel completely comfortable at hotels, but the staff at Crowne Plaza went above and beyond to ensure I had a safe and enjoyable stay. A special thank you to Sara from the food department. She was absolutely incredible! From the moment I arrived, she was incredibly kind, attentive, and demonstrated a level of professionalism that truly stood out. Sara took the time to understand my dietary restrictions and made sure every meal I had was tailored to my needs. I can’t stress enough how much peace of mind she gave me throughout my stay. It’s rare to find someone as dedicated and thoughtful as Sara, and she made my experience at Crowne Plaza that much more memorable. I also want to mention Pedro, the new manager, who was equally fantastic. His leadership and commitment to guest satisfaction were evident in every interaction. Pedro made sure that all my needs were met and was always checking in to ensure I was comfortable. If you have dietary requirements or allergies, I highly recommend staying at Crowne Plaza. With staff like Sara and Pedro, you can trust that they will take excellent care of you, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

One of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had and we are well travelled around the globe. The rooms are well equipped, clean and the beds and bedding are so comfortable and luxurious. David at reception was an absolute gem. He was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. He really made our trip. All of the other staff were super also including the door men who were so efficient. The manager at the breakfast desk was not friendly (a little rude/abrupt) plus the breakfast itself is lacking for the price so for that reason I’m dropping one star.

Slightly outdated but well maintained, clean and hands down for the service. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the staff with local Port Wine, then they offered us a room upgrade despite not being special IHG members and to be honest, I’ve never seen something like that before. It was quite a pleasant surprise to see that. Parking is available for a fee and they have self parking as well as valet parking. Breakfast and club lounge access is also available for a fee but worth it given the very high food quality and convenience. The highlight for the hotel in my opinion is the service and cleanliness. Bringing your electrical shaver or other 120V devices that need to be plugged from other countries? No worries, here they have multiple voltages outlet conveniently located in the bathroom. Definitely worthy!

My first visit to this spa was amazing. Dinis gave an exceptional massage, really listening to my concerns and focusing on the back tension I’ve built up from long hours sitting at work. Pestana Vintage Porto is a trendy hotel located in the heart of Porto's Ribeira district. It occupies a beautifully restored 16th-century building, blending historic charm with modern comfort. The rooms and suites offer views of the Douro River or the city streets. The on-site restaurant serves delicious Portuguese cuisine, and there's also a funky bar to enjoy.
I’ve had a great time while in Porto. The hotel is so nice. My experience has been wonderful. The front staff were very welcoming and special mention for Juan, who took such good care of me every morning at breakfast! He was very accommodating and friendly!

This Hotel is supposed to be a 5 Star rated place, however, to me it lacks the facilities and services of a 5 Star hotel. Let's start with the best parts first. The view from the room was awesome, overlooking the river, and right near all the river restaurants. Checking-in was also a very pleasant experience. Now on to the not so good. Our room windows were looking out to a public walkway/balcony that catered to other bars and food places, so even though you had awesome views, you had to keep your curtains closed or people could walk by and look in to your room. The room was small and the shower/bathroom (All Glass) took up 40% of the room. The TV remote was not working well, which took 4 times as long to even choose a channel. Our friend who stayed in the room next to us has a nasty sewer smell in her room with a damp part of the hallway carpet and an opening in the bathroom ceiling. Breakfast began at 7:30am but most tours started at 8:00am, so a few days we had no time for breakfast. The breakfast was very good in terms of variety but lacked any type of personal service, the staff were always too busy to even get a coffee refill. This Hotel is many buildings put together, and I know that this is a historical site, but no gym, no pool and nothing else other than a nice reception and expensive restaurant.

Brilliant location right on the waterfront . Wr had a rear facing room ( our choice) amd our mistake to leave window open as very noisy at night . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is a beautiful hotel right on the River in Porto. The staff are amazing: friendly, attentive and extremely warm and helpful. The entrance is very inviting with outdoor seating for the bar and lovely indoor bar. The rooms are comfortable with very comfortable bed and good air conditioning (important when we were there with temps in 90s F). We also had an excellent dinner in the restaurant (Rib & Wine). And the breakfast is also excellent with table service and buffet options. The hotel is also in a fun location, right across from a good 6 bridges boat tour and near everything in the historic center. We highly recommend the Pestana Vintage Porto.

⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars We had a fantastic stay at the Pestana Vintage Hotel in Porto and would highly recommend it. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. Even though the reception team was momentarily busy when we checked in, they invited us to relax in a quiet seating area and enjoy two chilled glasses of port wine—such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our stay. We had booked a twin room, but the system had shown a double. Once we explained the mix-up, the team couldn’t have been more helpful. They swiftly arranged a beautiful twin room in the newer part of the hotel, complete with a stunning river view, which we truly appreciated. When we asked for restaurant recommendations, the team suggested two fantastic options: one right next to the hotel and another about a 20-minute taxi ride away. Both were excellent and reasonably priced, showing that the staff really knows the area. We stayed for two nights and had a slightly later train on the day of departure. Again, the staff was incredibly accommodating and arranged a late checkout for us without any hassle. Breakfast was another highlight—fresh, well-organized, and absolutely delicious. It was easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. Overall, this hotel offers exceptional service, great views, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be returning this time next year.

The Hotel Moov Porto Centro is a cool, modern hotel in an art deco cinema with a courtyard garden cafe. It's located close to the metro and great for travelers visiting Porto. The rooms are modern and have a desk and private bathroom, making it perfect for long stays.
This is an absolutely perfect modern no fills hotel in a beautiful old building. The rooms are basic but clean, with a great shower and efficient air con. There are amazing extras too, such as cold drinking water machines on every floor and lockers to store your luggage. Friendly and helpful staff too, would 100% recommend this hotel!

Great, clean no-frills hotel. Awesome shower pressure and cleanliness. What makes me slightly uncomfortable are the dim lighting everywhere in the corridors, the scary portrait on my room wall (seriously who would want a face stating at them as they move about in a tiny room 😅) and the cannabis store right at the doorstep next door. The staff can be a bit warmer when they communicate information.

We recently stayed at the Moov Hotel in Porto and had a great experience. It’s a very simple hotel, but clean, comfortable, and extremely affordable. The location was perfect within easy walking distance to many local sights as well as the train station, which made exploring the city effortless. Our stay included breakfast, which offered only cold options, but everything was plentiful and fresh a perfect way to start our day. The staff were kind, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better. A great choice for a budget-friendly and convenient stay in Porto!

Short stay in downtown hotel, small, simple room but comfortable enough for one night. Decorated with simple furniture, picture , missing bit soul with some small details deco, making it lively. All most important historical attraction in walking distance. Breakfast is probably weakest part with low veggie part, too much bread 🥖, pastry, missing eggs 🥚. It is worth to think about more healthy food

We had such a great time at Moov! The location is perfect, and the room was super clean. The shower was great, and we loved the water bottle refill stations around the place. The bed was a little firm, but honestly, everything else was amazing. The staff were super friendly too. Definitely recommend staying here, 10/10!

This is a quaint, budget friendly hotel in Porto. We found it very easy to walk to different locales throughout the city, even though there are a lot of hills. The front desk staff was very helpful in answering our questions. If you don’t need frills, this is a very nice hotel for the price.

Amazing quiet location in a very central place. Close to everywhere. Fresh Orange juice and good Coffee at breakfast. Clean and hospitable. Safe. Easy Uber ride from the Airport. Not far from Metro. A little bit soul less rooms, thin towels but changed daily and very comfy beds. Good area. Good experience. I would stay again and recommend. Interesting church and a cannabis caffe next door.

Nh Collection Porto Batalha Hotel is a sophisticated accommodation located in the historical area of Porto, just steps away from Oporto Coliseum. Housed in a 300-year-old palace, this hotel retains its age-old splendor and offers sleek rooms with plenty of natural light, oversized mattresses, and high-grade technology. Some rooms provide city views and are equipped with sound-proofed windows, a coffee machine, minibar, and flat-screen TV.
This is a great hotel situated just around the corner from the shopping street. It is also only about a 10 minute walk away from the bridge across the river. The hotel has a lovely exterior set in a beautiful square with a statue. The rooms are reasonable size with modern decor. there are only two lifts, which can take some time to arrive. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, especially the white staff in the restaurant restaurant. There are good amenities in the bar area, including coffee and tea making facilities with a podge machine. The pump, action lotions soaps, shampoos, and conditioners in the bathroom. There is a safe and laundry services available. A lovely hotel, and a good part of town.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The front desk was friendly and got us into our room quickly. The cleaning staff is thorough and good at their job. The highlight of our stay was Bruno (bar manager) and Pedro (bartender). Their service was exquisite on top of producing high quality, delicious cocktails. Brava team!!

Hotel NH Collection Porto Batalha is a perfect location and stay for the visitor to Porto. The rooms are good sized and updated but not all have views (mine faced the air conditioning or some such utility). The staff was professional. Although the dining area was a bit congested for our large travelling group at breakfast we got first rate service from the staff including Alvaro and Sarah who kept everything clean and re-filled. I would stay here again.

Room had a fantastic view. The staff was especially friendly. A shout out to the wait staff. Miguel and the rest of the team did a great job af maikkngbsure the dining room was stocked full during an extremely busy time that included a bus load of sightseers all eating at the same time! We’ll be sure to recommend the hotel to frrends we know traveling through Porto. Obrigado!

We had not been to Porto before and when booking our trip this hotel was recommended to us. We were greeted by Ana Sofia who made us very welcome and eased us through check-in. The hotel location was perfect for the tour buses and had some lovely local bars and cafes very close by, also the waterfront was about a 10 minute walk, as was the pick up for the day tour. The double room was spacious enough for our needs and the facilities in the hotel we better than most; the Restaurant served good food and the bar had a good selection of local wines. We did not have breakfast as we prefer to eat out. Upon leaving we left our bags in the safe hands of Filipa whilst we visited a cafe before setting off to the train station via a taxi which Filipa also organised. We would happily return to this hotel when we come back in the future.

Nice Way Porto Hostel is a trendy accommodation option in Porto, offering modern rooms and dorms along with complimentary breakfast, a lively cocktail bar, and an eclectic lounge area. The hostel stands out for its exceptional staff and prime downtown location. Guests can look forward to engaging in various social activities organized by the hostel, such as drinking games and movie nights. Notably, the hostel features a unique Harry Potter-themed dormitory under the building's dome with distinctive architecture.
One of the best hostels I’ve been to! The staff was super accommodating, the rooms were clean, the common area makes socializing easy, and the location is super convenient to all the attractions in the area! Can’t recommend enough if you’re visiting Porto. The only drawback is that due to its central location, there’s noise outside the windows at almost all times of the day, so I’d recommend bringing earplugs or something.
Brody T — Google review
It's located right at the city centre and hence well connected with public transport. The tourist spots are at a walkable distance. The behaviour of the staff was excellent, always ready to help and were kind. The free coffee was a treat. The common area was well maintained. The elevator wasn't working most of the times and the stairs were a bit steep. Card was provided for entry into the building as well as the dorms. Wi fi connection was good. The dorm was clean enough but felt a bit congested with everybody in there. The floorboards make squeaky sounds when walked upon, making it a bit difficult for light sleepers . The bathroom was surprisingly clean and well maintained with hair dryers available for use. It felt worth the money. Perfect for solo travelers who spend the whole day roaming around and using the dorm for sleeping at night.
Ronmita P — Google review
The staff are great and the location is fantastic, literally right in the heart of Porto. The reason it didn't get a 5 star review is that the beds are tiny and the pillows are truly awful. If you are 5'10" or 178 cm you will be unable to sleep comfortably unless you naturally curl into a ball on your side. The common space is great with a lot of seating and a bar which is nice. If they get new pillows and or fix the beds it would be a 10/10.
Lucas V — Google review
The location is great and the staff is nice. I stayed here this past May and the whole 8 bed room unfortunately had bed bugs. The staff was pretty nice about it and said they would refund me for all the loads of laundry I had to do, but they never did :( they said they were going to shut that room down & take care of the bugs so it’s probably fine now, I would just check under your bed before
Miranda R — Google review
Really enjoyed the 2 nights stay. Great value for a center of the city stay. Was a little tricky initially finding it located 3rd floor above a coffee shop. Take the lift.
David M — Google review
Friendly hostel with kind staff and a nice common area. Breakfast is decent price for value, drinks are also decently priced. It's located near a lot of good food and sights to see. The hostel is on the 3rd floors with rooms on 4th and 5th floor and during my stay the elevator was not working. It's good practice for the climbs and descents in Porto, but can be a bit challenging after an active day.
Ellen M — Google review
We had bedbugs in our room. There were black dots on some beds, but the staff didn’t care. We really had to find a bedbug and then they finally admitted that. They also said it’s not their fault… Don’t spend money to stay in this hostel

Been there for few days during august and i had nice experience, but I have to say that my 12 bed room was very poorly soundproofed, there were a lot of loud noises coming from the floor from the hallway and even the room itself, at the reception everyone was very helpful with everything you needed

The Passenger Hostel, located in central Porto, is a trendy accommodation option offering both relaxed suites and dormitories. The hostel boasts a cocktail bar, piano lounge, and shared kitchen for guests to enjoy. With magnificent common areas overlooking the Sao Bento train station, it offers amazing dormitories with small living rooms inside and large lockers. Families can opt for lovely lofts while still having access to the shared kitchen.
HUGE 5/5, It was my first hostel ever and I everyone was saying « this is the best hostel ever ». I can confirm. The team, the organisation.. It’s clean and friendly. There is a lot of space and there is a magnetic bracelet so its save a lot of time for unlocking the lockers and the doors. Everything is included, the only potential « hidden cost » would be the towel which is a 5$ deposit and 2$ cash back when returned. Best location, I have never use public transport while being there. It was close by walk because its perfectly centered.
Sébastien C — Google review
The only thing letting the hostel down is that there’s a lot of construction ongoing outside of Sao Bento station, which does mean your sleep is getting interrupted if you’re in bed past 7am on a weekday, and the Time Out Market next door also had loud DJ sets every so often that went on quite late (~12am). Not the best considering you’ll need the windows open overnight during the summer, but it should say a lot that this is basically the only bad thing about the hostel. It’s essentially in the most central place you can be in Porto, the rooms are great with high ceilings (three beds high) and plenty of storage, and they really make an effort to keep things sociable without turning it into a party hostel, with free breakfasts every day, free pasta nights every other day, and a nice bar manned by the reception staff. I went with my partner and in hindsight it may have been better to get a private dorm here, but overall I have no real complaints. The place is absolutely ideal for a solo traveller.
Archie — Google review
Honestly this place feels like everything a hostel should be. The staff are fun and engaging. Breakfast is tasty, there are lots of group activities! And the building itself is both historic and beautiful. I’ve stayed in FIVE hostels this trip and Passenger IS the favourite. ALSO I’ve never had a hostel offer wristbands as door/locker keys, but honestly it was the BEST. Never having to worry about locking myself out. Having a quiet, easy way to get into my locker at any hour. Also it has a laundry 🖤 They’re not just doing it right. They’re doing it better.

Great place. Central and super friendly staff. It can get a little noisy with the doors and location but ain’t too bad overall. Had an issue with the bunk above me spilling water down at 3am but thank god for 24/7 reception because they swapped me out immediately.

Perfect location in the centre of the city. Big rooms and bathrooms, and absolutely clean. They were very friendly. I forgot to pack my Pyjama and they sent it back to me, with no delay and minimal charges. The activities in the evening were also very nice.
Belle — Google review
I stayed here in 2023 and loved it but this time was not as great. Definitely a good spot for young people but so loud during the night I got no sleep before day 1 of the Camino. The challenge is the big doors make a lot of noise when dormmates come in and out at all hours. Positives are clean facilities, good breakfast although opens at 8 which is also hard for starting the Camino and activities offered. Great for young crowd who stay up late and party :) feels very safe, fun and modern. Maybe not the best choice as a Pilgrim.
Sarah D — Google review
This is the only hostel I've actually felt like a human person with some dignity. Traveling as a solo young female, I felt very safe here. The bathrooms are SO clean, there's lots of space, lots of showers and toilets. PLUS breakfast included. Super recommend this palce!
Jade S — Google review
I had an excellent stay here for a few days while visiting Porto. Not a party hostel, but they found a balance with having fun still. The common area loft is a great spot to work remotely from with comfy chairs and a beautiful view of the train station. Because it's in the train station, it's just a great location in general. Right in the middle of everything you'd want to see in Porto. The rooms themselves were great. The beds stack 3 high, and I was on the third one. Definitely less convenient but not bad. The lockers are massive and locked with your wristband which gets you into everywhere else you need. The bathrooms were good. Clean, plenty of space, and good hand and hair dryers. The shower was always hot and was a timed push button that lasted about 20 seconds which I didn't mind. Staff were friendly and there were a couple of events that they hosted each day. I met a lot of great people at this hostel

One of the best Hostel I stayed and I have been in so many. The beds are very creative and the largest on the market (but maybe a curtain would be advised. ) I stayed in a room of 7-8. It was very big. Lot of space. The showers were also huge. Very clean. Cleaning every day. They make your bad. The common area is very big with nice seets and a bar for socialising. The breakfast is very good. The people working there are super nice super friendly. They answer all your questions and try to help with whatever you need.

We stayed in a river view suite on the top floor. The property has lots of character with stone and wood decorated in art with a nod to the winery next door. The view from our room was gorgeous. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a drink, music, and people watching. There is a common reception, breakfast, happy hour lounge that has an at-home feel. Great location on the winery side of the river just a short and scenic walk over the bridge to Porto.

This Hotel calls itself a hostel but also has hotel like rooms. It's located in a very old historical building right on the river front so you are right in the heart of Porto's tourist area. Because of its historical status they cannot install a lift and you have to ascend two flights of stairs to get to the reception. However, disabled access is possible via stair lift. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Had an excellent 2 night stay here in the larger mixed dorm. The lounge/lobby of the hostel is downright beautiful, with an excellent view of the river. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is solid. The dorm rooms are huge. Honestly, this hostel is an amazing value for everything it delivers.
Joseph A — Google review
I genuinely enjoyed my stay at House of Sandeman, but the experience was overshadowed by the theft of my jewellery and how the situation was handled. I left with the sense that my concerns weren’t taken seriously by management, which was disappointing. Here’s my breakdown: Rooms: I stayed in the 7-bed mixed dorm. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean with hairdryers, shower gel, and towels (with a 10 euro cash deposit). Only lockers provided are digital. One issue is the room door, which doesn’t close properly unless pulled firmly, risking security if no one double-checks. Location: Excellent. Beautiful views and a 10-minute walk to the city centre. Service: The staff I spoke to were kind and empathetic, but the manager’s response to the theft was disappointing. I felt the handling lacked seriousness and accountability. Theft Incident: On 14 July, I returned from the beach to find all my jewellery, worth around €500, missing from my digital locker. I reported this to the manager, who inspected the scene. It was the first such case for the hostel and for me, yet the manager immediately suggested I must have failed to lock it properly. I was confident I had, but that seemed to be the end of the discussion. Their only solution was to move me to another dorm, which didn’t address the loss or the breach in security. The next day, I found out that another room had lockers opened in the same way, though nothing was stolen there. I asked if the CCTV would be reviewed. I was told yes, and that I would be updated. I went to the police, who asked why the hostel hadn’t contacted them directly, which is a valid question I hadn’t considered, but something I believe the hostel should have handled. When I checked out on 16 July, there was still no update on the CCTV. Staff promised to email me, but as of 22 July, I have yet to hear anything. Overall, I’m disappointed not just by the loss of my belongings, but by the lack of clear communication and resolution. There was no apology from the manager, and no accountability taken. I’d advise the hostel to review its security measures and guest support protocols. Even if this was a first for them, the minimum they could do is follow up and keep affected guests informed. That alone would show a basic level of care.

An Outstanding Hostel Experience – Gallery Hostel Porto Of all the hostels I’ve stayed in, Gallery Hostel Porto is truly exceptional. The bed linens are soft, cozy, and gently scented, making rest and sleep especially pleasant. The staff are one of the highlights of the experience. From the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant team, everyone is professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making your stay enjoyable. Can we get a yeehawww for this hostel! I have travelled a lot over the world and Gallery Hostel is 10/10. The breakfast, superb!!! The staff so lovely and honestly have to say one bar staff made the best cocktails I’ve ever had and that says alot coming from Melbourne, Australia. Which we are massive cocktail drinkers (snobs). I loved every minute of Gallery Hostel & would recommend any traveller to book here. It’s the art type of town, close to the river for cruise’s and all the delicious food nearby. They offer free bicycle hire, which I did and took off to a beautiful beach about 30mins ride very easy and amazing. I didn’t want to leave if im honest! Also enjoy happy hour, it’s a treat. Nestled in Vila Nova de Gaia, The Rebello Hotel & Spa offers a range of laid-back studios and suites with river views. This refined five-star hotel boasts various room types, including those with a living room and fully equipped kitchen, making it ideal for families or self-catering travelers. Guests can indulge in the hotel's fantastic amenities such as a rooftop bar, garden, restaurant, indoor swimming pool with a sauna reminiscent of the Roman Empire, gym, and private parking.
Excellent views of the river and city from this lovely hotel. Breakfast excellent in quality and choice. Room beautiful, immaculate and well equipped. Great comfortable bed. Rooftop bar a great facility but breezy early evening so we didn't stay long. Good area outside for taxis to pull into. Location is superb for walking to port companies. Would stay again although a few improvements would help- the gym is disappointing, the room for breakfast is not large enough at peak times meaning some eat in the lobby and our WiFi was poor/patchy which was something that could only be fixed the day we left.

I stayed at The Rebello for one night and didn't want to leave! The hotel is stylish (without being pretentious), full of personality, comfortable, and overall a very welcoming place to enjoy Porto. The viewpoint from the hotel rooftop is incredible, with direct view onto Porto's main bridge, which is even more stunning at night. Each room is individually curated with its own character and with fun little details, like notes or a vintage telephone to ring reception. I treated myself to a massage at the spa and honestly, it was one of the best I've ever had (and I've had quite a few over the years!). Breakfast was another highlight, the buffet had plenty of options without overdoing it. I highly recommend The Rebello for your stay in Porto!

A fantastic stay at The Rebello! We loved our stay at The Rebello — a beautifully designed, stylish hotel with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Guests from all over the world come together here, creating a truly international vibe. Pan & Pot is a real highlight, offering creative, modern Portuguese cuisine. Breakfast is fresh and varied, with many made-to-order options at no extra cost. The service is outstanding, and the staff are genuinely kind and attentive. The rooftop bar serves great snacks and offers stunning views over the Douro. It’s definitely worth paying a bit more for a room with a view of the river and the Ponte Luís I! Excellent wine selection at fair prices and a minibar with some complimentary items. Only minor downside: e-bikes are available for a fee. Overall, an exceptional hotel that blends design, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommended!

This place is just fun and the view is amazing! This is the side of Porto you want to stay on. We stayed at eleven different hotels over a month long visit to Spain and Portugal and this was a favorite. Our room was a spacious one bedroom suite. The bed was super comfortable and the bedding was quality. The pillows/towels/robes were perfection. The furnishings in the whole hotel are comfortable and inviting with many cozy nooks to sit in. Of the eleven hotels, this is only one of two that had an ironing board so that was a win. But it is their spin on the mini bar that is truly genius! They give you the first round of select drinks from the minibar for free and a full on bottle of wine for free. In addition to this they have many tasty snacks in the room that were reasonably priced. No worries about partaking outrageously over-priced food here. When we couldn’t make the breakfast buffet due to an early flight they packed us a breakfast to go. Lastly, it is always the people that make or break a place and the staff here are the best. Every person we encountered was helpful and welcoming and we can’t wait to go back!

What a gorgeous hotel! It was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed. I loved our suite — a two bedroom with en-suite bathrooms, plus a powder room off the living room and kitchen — and the view of Porto and the river was incredible. The front desk staff was beyond accommodating after a small mix-up with the room booking, and they made us feel right at home. They offered great suggestions for things to do and places to eat and checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was meeting our needs. Breakfast was set up in a beautiful space off the side of the lobby, and the options were plentiful. They had pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc., plus more you could order off the menu, like scrambled eggs. The rooftop bar was also awesome and had the best views of the river. We enjoyed the cozy spaces for grabbing a quick lunch one day and a port and dessert to end the night. Highly recommend booking this hotel, and I hope to come back sometime soon.

What a treat this hotel was! We spent two nights across the river in Porto and two nights on the other side in Gaia. The Rebello exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. They upgraded us to a room that was the size of a large apartment with huge window views of Porto and the river. The beds were super comfy, great snacks, wine, and drinks offered in the room and the first round was free! Beautiful pool and sauna for use. Excellent breakfast included with everything you could want. Our only regret was not staying longer. Worth every penny!

What a gem. The Rebello is a stylish new hotel that feels luxurious and inviting without being flashy like many modern openings. We stayed in a beautiful two-bedroom suite with en suite bathrooms, a powder room, full kitchen, and living area, which was perfect for our family with two young boys. The views of Porto and the Douro River from our room were absolutely breathtaking, and the rooftop bar at night had the best view of the bridge and the city. The location couldn’t be better, close enough to walk everywhere yet peaceful and quiet. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or a family trip, this place truly delivers. Easily one of our favorite stays in Portugal.
Jon P — Google review
It’s been over a year since my family and I stayed at the Rebello. I hate to leave anything less than a five star review but I had less than one star service, and it bothers me still. I emailed months in advance, and again confirmed via email days prior to our arrival that there would be a high chair in the room for my nine month old son. If you have ever tried to feed a nine month old, you know that they cannot really eat without a highchair because they can’t really sit up on their own, which is even more important when eating due to choking risk. Eating is also a huge mess. I knew we were going to arrive late from international flight and our baby was gonna be hungry so I made sure they knew that we needed a highchair and that it would be there when we got there. We got there and it wasn’t. And it wasn’t there for an acceptable amount of time. Apologies were made to my husband. The reservation was under my name, my credit card, and I had been emailing about the high chair. But no one ever apologized to me. I wrote an email saying how unacceptable it was, that this was a means of feeding my child and should have been without error due to the multiple reminders and its critical nature. For the rest of my stay I questioned myself when walking by the front desk staff as it seemed that they were speaking and then suddenly stopping once I walked by. It made me wonder if they had seen the email I sent. I asked if they knew about an email I had sent, and they said yes. No, they were not managers. I’m not one to focus on negative things so I went on to enjoy my trip despite feeling uncomfortable at the hotel when I walked by the front desk. When we left, the individual checking us out asked how our stay was and I told him I was disappointed and here were the reasons. He informed me that he actually is the manager, and he was aware of what happened. And the most he could do was not charge us for parking. It’s a beautiful hotel. This spa is fantastic and the massage I got there was magical. The little rebel’s room is adorable and the staff there are very sweet. Management, front desk, and back of house 9/2025 were jerks.

Found this place through booking.com. Very pleased with the level of service, friendliness and cleanliness. We were able to book the apartment with its own terrace which adjoined the beautiful roof garden. The building is beautiful with high ornate ceilings. Check out the breakfast room. Highly recommended.

We had a nice stay for 3 nights, the location is excellent, the garden is beautiful. We immediately posted a good review on booking.com. However, 3 nights after leaving the hotel, our 8 year old son realized that he left his wallet in the safe. We contacted the hotel immediately, but there was no wallet to be found :( which is a real dissappointment, because we have forgotten things in hotels before, but never have we not found them :( the hotel is obliged to check the room and inform us. But this hotel just sent a regretful message via whatsapp about 'our forgetfulness'. Even though we had a good time during our stay, their check-out procedure was very regretful. A hotel should always check the room after check-out, and feel responsible to inform the customers.

Loved the location and the room. My husband needed a package received days before we checked in and they were totally accommodating. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and the spa. Massages were great! The garden was hard to leave. Very relaxing and quiet.

Great hotel in a central point in the city. Rooms are quite spacious. Bathrooms are big and renovated. Mind you that 2 person rooms are made by separating them from a bigger apartment-like rooms by closing one connecting door. That means that there is very little sound insulation between those rooms and you can hear everything. Interior of the hotel is really interesting and historic. It has an amazing inside garden and terrace overlooking the whole city. Breakfasts are ok, nothing special. The staff is really nice and helpful. I'd recommend to stay there.

We stayed at this property in March 2025 and had an overall great stay. The front desk staff (I wrote down everyone's' name and lost it :( ) were so super helpful especially the woman who was there almost every day we were. I feel terrible I can't remember her name, but she was so sweet to our son who was having a meltdown at check in. We got in super early and our room wasn't ready yet. Thinking we would have to wait until 3PM to check in, we headed to the garden to relax. We were told at 12PM our room was ready for us, they took great care in getting it ready ahead of schedule. That was HUGE! The location is great, albeit on the main tourist area, so it can be loud, but it was really fine. The breakfast was not amazing, but something to hold you over until lunch. I would recommend this place for families for sure!
Marianna D — Google review
The rooms are nice and clean. The super high bathtub was hard to get in and out of. Don't recommend for seniors. The front desk on ALL shifts was very friendly and extremely helpful. They were great with advice and helped with a problem that might have affected my flight home. The breakfast is good and includes ingredients for mimosas, but the staff needs to open the cava bottle before they put it out. Good location between all tourist areas, not every taxi permitted street entry in pedestrian zone so be prepared to pull your cases. The large rooftop garden complete with kitties was an unexpected surprise.
S. K — Google review
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. There was no elevator access to the room, so I had to carry my luggage up an entire floor by myself. On the first night, the shower didn’t work, so it was impossible to take a shower. Even after it was repaired (after a day), the maintenance staff left the bathroom dirty, and we had to clean it ourselves. We were also not informed that there was no TV in the bedroom, which was unexpected. Despite all these issues, the hotel refused to change our room or offer any compensation. Overall, the service and customer awareness were very poor — not what I would expect from a hotel in this price range. A very unpleasant experience.

Hotel Douro is a centrally located, simply decorated hotel just off Boavista Roundabout in Porto. The comfortable and spacious rooms are equipped with air conditioning and offer a convenient base for exploring the city. The hotel's friendly staff, who speak English, provide helpful service to guests. While the rooms may be slightly dated, they are clean and well-maintained. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast with options like juices, pastries, and coffee.
A great hotel with easy access to Metro, University of Porto, Mall and other amenities. The breakfast comes hand especially for a long term stay and early morning meetings. The staff are friendly and multi lingual.

Room was clean. The door locked and the bed was sound. The corridor odour suggested a hotel that rented Robby the hour. Lighting was so low shaving was by feel and pot luck at finding the correct lift button. Breakfast had food available. Coffee reminded me of a Spanish hotel I visited in the 70’s that I rank all coffee from it being a one.
Peter M — Google review
Very friendly staff, the rooms are clean, the outside carpets could have a change, and if you have a door to the neighbour room you are informed about a good share of your neighbours acoustics. However, absolutely ok, and comfortable beds (relatively hard, which I appreciate). Good breakfast, and again I would like to highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Very close to metro station Casa da Musica.

The hotel is well located and has great service, we enjoyed the breakfast too.
Josué F — Google review
The reception lady was nice. Contrary to what it says in the description it doesn't have sound proffing, i could literally hear a couple having sex in the next room, also i could hear the washing machines running, they had laundry services but they should be carefull where they put it. Its rated 3 stars but should in reality be 2. The rooms are old, the equipment is like 15 years old. Even the electric panel inside the closet made noise... The room was really clean and tidy though.
Álvaro A — Google review
It is old and cheap... that was expected. But there is a very serious noise problem in this hotel. There is a constant machine noise in the early morning and anything(?) happening in other rooms are fully audible. Couldnt rest at all...
Güven Ö — Google review
This hotel is very dated and in need of repairs/updates. It is also not centrally located to the Ribeira district which is near the river and all the sights and restaurants. Staff was also not friendly. I would never stay there again
Joel A — Google review
The hotel has nice location and good connection with public transport. The stuff is extremely friendly and can communicate in English. Rooms are large and clean. I had small fridge and air conditioner, all worked fine. Breakfasts were included: they were not special, but one could always find tea/coffee, fruits and something to make sandwiches. Bathroom was also ok, although the bathroom faucet should be renewed! The only significantly large disappointment for me was the poor sound isolation, unfortunately, the noise from the neighbors was disturbing, however, from 23:00 till 6:00 it was always quiet during my stay.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Porto, Casa da Companhia, Vignette Collection, an IHG Hotel, offers a unique blend of modern luxury and rich history. This stunning hotel is located on Rua das Flores, one of the city's most famous pedestrian shopping streets. Originally built in the 16th century as a family residence by merchant nobleman Bras Brandao, it later served as the headquarters for Real Companhia Velha.
We stayed for 4 nights over the period of the June 23 festival. The welcome and check in were outstanding. This included a comprehensive overview of Porto and tips for what to do and where to go as well as a full introduction to the hotel and facilities. Breakfast was very good set within the old part of the hotel in cosy spaces. All staff were exceptional in their service and attention. The hotel is perfectly placed on Rua da Flores to walk either up to places such as the market or down to the riverfront. A great option if you plan to visit Porto

This hotel is all around amazing. I rarely leave a hotel review, but I was so impressed by the location, amenities, and the staff here. This hotel truly deserves 5 stars. It is situated on a lively little street connected to all of the best wine bars and shops but once you walk inside, it is an oasis of calm. It is quite luxury with sophistication. The staff is so incredibly kind and helpful with every request...huge compliments to Beatriz who handled my check in and check out. She takes a career in hospitality to another level. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in Porto. There is a small outdoor and indoor pool (as well as full sauna and steam room) that ever gets too crowded also!

We have stayed at IHG properties all around the world and this is by far the best total experience we have ever had. The hotel and its rooms (we stayed in 740 and 739) are beautiful. Every interaction with staff was engaging thoughtful. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. At breakfast each morning staff was friendly and very hospitable. The food was also all very good. The location is great for walking to anything in the city, with the entrance being on a pedestrian only street (after like 9AM).

We had a great stay at Casa da Companhia in Porto. The hotel is beautiful with a perfect mix of old and new. The front has that historic charm while the back, where our room was, feels modern and upscale. Our room had a nice view of the city and the church, and out of the five hotels we stayed at in Portugal, this one was by far the nicest. The room was super modern with great lighting and an awesome shower. Breakfast was probably the best we had during our trip, and the service was truly five star. The only downside is that cars can’t pull right up, so we had to be dropped off one street over and walk up a steep incline, but the location makes up for it. You’re right in the middle of everything and it’s easy to walk anywhere. We also had dinner here on our last night and it was fantastic. The sangria was incredible, the octopus rice was spectacular and the food was excellent. Highly recommend this place and we’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Porto.

Casa da Companhia is the kind of hotel that instantly draws you into Porto’s soul. The welcome drink — a glass of vinho do Porto — beautifully sets the tone, connecting guests to the city’s history and spirit from the very first moment. Housed in a meticulously restored historic building, the property exudes timeless charm while offering every modern comfort. The location is perfect for exploring the old town, the rooms are stunning, and the spa is a serene retreat after a day of wandering. A truly memorable stay — elegant, authentic, and deeply Portuguese in the best way.
Deborah V — Google review
I stayed at Casa da companhia and found the room location poorly suited for rest. Rooms on Level 1 are directly opposite the reception, where staff frequently move in and out & guests check in at all hours. The door to the staff area is slammed throughout the day and, at times, late at night, creating ongoing disruption. Reception is located on a floor with guest rooms, which feels impractical Consider relocating reception to a non-guest-floor or soundproofing the corridor and door areas or improve door etiquette and padding to reduce noise Overall, Nice hotel and well maintained rooms. Restaurant and bar service poor. Friendly staff at check-in.

We loved our stay here! The room was spacious and clean. The pool and terrace made for a great place to unwind. The spa was relaxing and my massage was perfect after all our walking around the city. It couldn’t be in a better location!

We had such a wonderful experience at Casa de Campania in Porto. The ambience was beautiful — warm, stylish, and the perfect spot to unwind. At the bar, Euclides took incredible care of us and made the best espresso martinis we’ve had on our trip. His service was friendly and thoughtful, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping in for a cocktail and soaking up the atmosphere!

Guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival and receive professional and friendly service from the staff. The hotel provides amenities for personal hygiene and is praised for its cleanliness. Its central location allows easy access to city attractions such as Balhau Market and Sau Bento Train Station.
We loved our stay, really lovely hotel and decorated in a modern style. Our room was spacious with the bedroom separate from the lounge area which was nice and the bathroom was spotless and a good size. Staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a perfect position to explore the city. We did not eat in the hotel but did use the bar which was pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I had a “romantic room” or at least that is what I booked. I can’t say I found anything about it particularly romantic but the room was spacious, clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Very nice large bathroom as well and the bed was very comfortable. We arrived around 1340 and they could not get us into a room and I had somewhere to be at 1430 so ended up carrying a heavy backpack all around Porto for several hours. They did offer to keep it for me but as I had a lot of things in there I opted not to. For some reason there is no room service on Mondays which was also a bummer. The breakfast was okay but I have had better including elsewhere in Portugal. Location is pretty good as well. It’s in a sort of more business feeling area but near enough to the tourist stuff and public transit. I have to say once again the room was amazing and that is the most important thing overall.

We had an exceptional three-night stay at Axis Porto Club Hotel. Communication before arrival was friendly and professional, and at check-in we received a warm welcome – plus a wonderful upgrade to a higher-floor room. The room was spotless, elegant, and quiet, with a very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. The location is perfect – right in the heart of Porto, close to everything yet peaceful at night. Special thanks to Mr. Bernardo Dias and the entire team for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Breakfast was fresh and varied, and every detail felt carefully thought out. We can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return on our next visit to Porto. S&A from Munich

We really enjoyed our stay at Axis. A well located hotel. Easy walk to all Porto attractions without being in the crowded areas. Our room was big enough with a little balcony with a view in the facing monument. There’s a parking not far from the hotel. And a wide choice of restaurants and bars around. Highly recommended

We had a lovely stay at the Axis Porto Club Hotel. The staff were exceptional, going out of their way to accommodate us with an early morning breakfast before our tour departure a small gesture that made a big difference and really stood out in terms of service. The location is excellent, centrally positioned in Porto with easy walking access to many attractions as well as the metro, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Our room, however, was quite dark, especially being located at the end of the corridor. There was also a slight sulfur smell when we first arrived, which I suspect came from the shower drain. Fortunately, this cleared up by the next day and didn’t affect the rest of our stay. One minor design flaw was the tiny doorstop positioned right next to the toilet we found ourselves accidentally bumping into it with our toes more than once. A larger or better-placed stopper would easily solve that annoyance. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The warmth and professionalism of the staff, combined with the great location, far outweighed the small inconveniences. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting Porto

Guests can enjoy excellent service from the attentive and courteous staff, who go out of their way to accommodate needs such as arranging private transfers for early flights and providing thoughtful take-away breakfasts.
This location was so wonderful. We had a room overlooking the river with a beautiful view of the bridge. There were restaurants all around us and a little bit of shopping as well. Be ready to walk uphill and upstairs for almost everything. But I can’t get over how great this hotel was. We were here during the power outage, and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful and kind. Sonia helped us at check in but the entire staff that day went above and beyond when everyone was losing their cool.

Porto River gives you modern luxury with historic Porto only steps below you. We loved opening the windows and french doors to let Porto and the river in! A very clean newly renovated hotels situated among all the restaurants overlooking the river. Can see both Sunrise and sunset. Bedroom is in the back of the building so it’s not noisy at all. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon/ evening. Bathroom design simple clean. Large ceramic tiles is what’s popular these days. That’s how I want my bathroom to be

If you want to feel the city of Porto stay here. It is the perfect blend of historical Porto with modern touches to the rooms and amenities. Because of the smart adaptions to the historical building the views at the hotel are absolutely unbeatable. We love to stay here as a family (3 times so far) because we are able to meet everyday for breakfast and happy hour on the terrace bar which offers comfortable and unbeatable views of the famous bridge, the Duoro river and the promenade down below. You are really in the middle of the life of the city. The staff and amenities make it very easy to stay here as a family or big group but if you are traveling as a pair or looking for romance this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway.

The location was a bit tricky to find, as the entrance is tucked behind the outdoor tables of a nearby restaurant. However, I enjoyed my stay—it’s in a very convenient spot for sightseeing and evening strolls along the river. The hospitality from the staff throughout my visit, up until check-out, was much appreciated. Unfortunately, my check-out experience was disappointing. I was asked whether I had taken anything from the minibar and was told to wait while housekeeping inspected it. Despite assuring them that I hadn’t taken anything, I was questioned about missing bottles of water. It felt unreasonable to be confronted about items I had never seen, especially when they were going to verify it themselves. I suggested they check the waste bin and I would pay if any empty bottles were found. I am 100% sure they can’t find a bottle as I didn’t take any item from the minibar. The receptionist just said it is okay to check out without payment, but no apology was made for the mistaken claim. It’s important that minibar inventory is properly checked before assigning rooms to guests to avoid this kind of situation. Despite this incident, others may still find the property suitable. However, I would likely choose a different accommodation if I return to Porto.

While some guests have noted small room sizes and issues with amenities like WiFi and toilet paper, many appreciate the excellent location, beautiful views, and nearby amenities such as a grocery store.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel with my wife and toddler son. Everything was exactly as promised. The concierge was incredibly kind and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the start. The location was excellent, and our room was spotless, blending a beautiful mix of old-world charm and modern design. The only slight drawback was getting our luggage back up the cobblestone slope from the front desk to our section of the hotel. But honestly, if it had just been my wife and me, I doubt I’d even mention it. Trying to wrangle a toddler while hauling bags definitely added to the challenge—haha! Overall, we loved our experience here and will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

Our room was very small and extremely cold. Apparently, they turn the heat off by date and not by weather. Unfortunately it was cold and rainy the day we stayed there so it was not enjoyable. The location is fantastic, and so was the view. The elevator happened to break as well, so we had to lug our suitcases down 4 flights of stairs. If you have accessibility issues, don't stay here. Also, Bolt or Uber will not drop you off at the hotel as they are not allowed there. You will be dropped off at the top of the street, which is on a hill, and you will have to bring your bags down a cobblestone road!

We had a corner room with two lovely French windows overlooking the river. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and big enough for two people on a short break. We didn't have the breakfast as we preferred to go out. No kettle in the room which is a shame. Rooms cleaned every day. Noisy in evening but it's quite by 11 so no problem. Staff nice and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

Great location close to the river. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking. Breakfast good but booking ahead option for receiving a discount not at all clear at the service desk. Rules changed on our second day when we tried to book ahead . Management need to sort this out as it left us with a bad vibe .

Great location, close to Ribeira square, river Durro, Dom Luis I bridge. Endless view to the river and the bridge. Clean and well equipted rooms. Close to restaurant and coffee shops, and the lift to the upper city. Great choice.

Fantastic little gem of a hotel/ apartment. The hotel arranged a car to come at get my family at the airport. Then we checked into our apartment. The two bedroom hotel was amazing. In the centre of Ribeira

Nice spacious hotel in the Ribeiro district. Friendly staff and affordable rates. Hotel is within 20min walking to most sites. Note that this hotel is in a pedestrian only area so you can't drive to the front desk to check in, we learnt this the hard way and blocked up traffic in the process. Also, the front desk is not connected to the rest of the hotel, about 30m away making the check in process a little confusing BUT we would stay here again.

Mouzinho 160 Apartments is a recently renovated 19th-century building offering a stunning view of Porto's old city rooftops and the iconic Clerigos Tower. The apartments are spacious, airy, and well-equipped with kitchen/living areas and balconies overlooking the city. Guests appreciate the easy self-check-in process and the central location, making it convenient to explore Porto's attractions on foot.
Would highly recommend Mouzinho Apartments. From booking they were very helpful and efficient in getting back to us. Check in was so easy as we were given details to self check in and our apartment was ready early in the day. The apartment was absolutely stunning, big, airy, clean and had a kitchen/living area and a balcony looking onto the city. The location is excellent so close to the bridge and walkable distance from everything in Porto. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a trip to Porto!

Our apartment was perfect! We had an amazing view and it was located in a great spot for walking the city! Everything was close by! It was clean and comfortable. I recommend staying here if you’re ever in Porto! ❤️ 🇵🇹

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment with was unfortunately on the first floor. This is probably why we had a terrible experience in Porto after paying 250 Euro per night! We knew that the apartment did not have air conditioning. However, we did not know that the bedrooms had absolutely no ventilation since none of the windows could be opened, and only a few inadequate fans. The only windows that could be opened were in the living area which was directly on the street and very noisy. Though it was October, the rooms were terribly warm and sleep was impossible. Not to mention, there seemed to be a constant noise in the bedrooms from some underground drilling that went from 7:45am till 11:30pm. This was honestly one of the worst apartments we have stayed at possibly due to the floor we stayed on, despite the fact that the interior of the place was nicely done and very clean. I think that if someone is going to have to suffer on the first floor, that should be made evident in the booking information. Also, you cannot charge people the same rates for apartments that have been advertised with lovely views, light and ventilation. I do appreciate that we were offered a refund if we wanted to move. However, a last minute booking in Porto is difficult and since we were already out for the day would be impossible to arrange alternate accommodation. A real disappointment in Porto.

The cleaning was disappointing. First when we got in to the apartment. The bed sheet was full of hair and the pillow cases had lipsticks stains on it. We asked the owner to change these for us. After we got home. Instead of new sheets, we got another dirty sheets with BLOOD STAINS on the duvet cover, the janitor hide the stains on purpose, we had to uncover the duvet cover to notice the stains. We had to bare with this situation for one night, since it was too late for them to get changed. After the second complaint, the third sheet we got was STILL FILTY with a big stain on it. Overall, I DONT RECOMMEND this apartment and owner. The experience was awful. I didn’t paid this high amount of money for this filthy environment. I asked for a refund but they rejected me. So yeah, be careful for your choice.

Great serviced apartments in the centre of Porto. Great location and self check in options. We had a couple of glitches during our stay but our room was lovely with decent furniture, spacious and a good basic kitchen. Tea and coffee making facilities in our apartment and plenty of towels and soaps. Could use some better towels and bit more comfortable furniture but on average well done place. No dishwasher or laundry facilities in the room or building. Elevator is small but works for the most part. Staff are quite responsive and available and were great in providing recommendations for things to do in Porto. Location is perfect and I would happily come here again.
Sam S — Google review
Great loft apartment in a very nice location. We didn't get any view though, and there was a seagull screaming right next to the roofttop window every morning, walking us up.

Great location, quite yet close to everything, clean modern cosy apartment. Loved it a lot

Really good serviced apartments in the heart of Porto. The location could not be better, and the 2-bedroom apartment we stayed in on the 4th floor was absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic views from the balcony and a very spacious apartment overall. I would 100% stay here again if I were to visit Porto and I would most definitely recommend. The ONLY slight downside - there is no AC. They did provide us with 4 quite powerful fans though, so that was helpful.

The Largo, located within a luxurious hotel in Porto, offers a transformed terrace that provides a new way for the restaurant to engage with the city. The cocktail bar, Flor, serves affordable cocktails and breakfast is open to all visitors. This demonstrates that luxury doesn't always mean exclusivity. The hotel also offers curated experiences in Porto and the surrounding region. Visitors praise the hospitality and personal touches provided by host Carlos and the team.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a trip to The Largo. Pure luxury – but in that subtle, elegant way. Beautiful art, excellence in all services, the best materials, wonderful architecture.. oh.. and the suites! So perfect in every detail. The most amazing experience and stay at the Largo! Best of all, was the way the staff guessed our every need. Little notes and hints of things to pleasure us. They even surprised us on at bike trip, with drinks and snacks! The true luxury experience is when they find ways of making your stay more enjoyable – things that you would not have thought of yourself.

If you ever find yourself in the enchanting city of Porto, let me wholeheartedly recommend The Largo. Nestled in the heart of Porto, this hotel transformed my birthday celebration into an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff at The Largo enveloped us in warmth and hospitality. Each member of the team (connectors) offered genuine kindness and a sense of welcome that felt like coming home. Their dedication to creating memorable moments was apparent from the start. They pampered us with surprise experiences and imparted fascinating insights into Porto’s rich history and culture. The experience team, truly world-class, listened intently to our desires and delivered beyond our wildest dreams. The rooms at The Largo are nothing short of exceptional. Impeccably designed, they offered a luxurious retreat that surpassed any hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Every detail was carefully considered, making it easy to imagine staying forever (I wish!). Our culinary journey was equally gratifying, guided by the incredible Chef Nuno Mendes. Each meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—was a delightful adventure in flavor. The cocktails were masterful and the wine selection impeccable — with knowledgeable Sommeliers well-versed in the wines of the region. The morning coffee and pastries from Flôr were the best I’ve ever had. What makes The Largo stand out is not only its luxury but also its genuine warmth. Every surface of this space has a story to tell, the atmosphere was beautifully curated but never felt pretentious. The Largo truly felt like a home away from home. My experience at The Largo, Cozinha das Flores, and Flôr was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone visiting Porto. This remarkable hotel is more than a place to stay; it’s a destination unto itself.

Our experience at The Largo was truly incomparable. Behind its remarkable green doors, we discovered a world of unmatched elegance and sophistication. Our suite was thoughtfully designed, with every detail crafted to create an atmosphere of pure luxury and unforgettable charm. The view from our balcony, framed by the timeless Portuguese tiles, was simply breathtaking—an unforgettable backdrop to our stay. The staff, kind and attentive, went above and beyond, making every moment feel special with their seamless service. The food was exceptional, with each dish presenting a new taste experience. The breakfast, in particular, was a highlight of mine—an indulgent feast of exquisite flavors that set the tone for each day. And, of course, the cocktails and wines were nothing less than extraordinary, elevating the entire dining experience. The Largo gave us the most amazing, memorable stay we could ever have imagined. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, The Largo is the place to be.

Absolutely exquisite experience from start to finish! Came here with a large group of friends to celebrate two birthdays at the end of September. We were absolutely blown away by the attention to detail and kindness of the staff, who often anticipated our needs before we even knew what they were! The hotel felt very authentic and immersed us in Portuguese culture the second we walked in, from the local art and decor throughout the hotel to the absolutely incredible breakfast spread we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. The activities our concierge planned for us outside the hotel were just as enjoyable as the features within the hotel and perfectly met the interests of our group while still focusing on giving us a true Porto experience. And speaking of a true Porto experience, the location of the hotel could not have been better. It's perfectly nestled in the bustling heart of the city allowing for immediate access to everything you'd want to do while still maintaining a quiet oasis perfect for rejuvenation and relaxation. One of the best hotels I've ever had the honor of staying at and would highly recommend to anyone planning on visiting Porto.

The Largo is even better than it looks in the photos. This is better than your typical nice hotel. The history and culture of Porto flows through the whole space by including local art, decor and furnishings. They personally see to making sure you feel like a local. From the staff knowing your name to being located in the heart of some of the cities best offerings. Not only are employees as friendly as can be, the Largo gives each guest the ability to work with a “connector” who searches high and low for unique experiences that match your interests while you are in the city. They know where to find the best wine, art and places to shop. We took a private tour of the city that really gave us a history of the area and lay of the land. Their terrace has a beautiful view by the pool and is where you will have the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel. It’s a curated selection of local cheeses, meats, breads and spreads that makes waking up and getting out of bed worth it. Make sure to try all the fresh juices they offer! The rooms are exquisite, each one is unique and laid out in a way that feels more like an apartment than hotel room. At night you do not hear a thing. Peace and quiet every time and pitch black once you close the window shutters. This is a place of dreams. You have to experience it to believe it. Ask to see the hidden vault door to the wine cellar! They also have a great gym on the top floors including a rowing machine that looks over the city. Best workout view you could ask for.

Gorgeous suite during our stay, lovely combination of luxury and comfort. Loved the attention to detail for all the amenities in our suite and throughout the building, from the unique snacks and drinks in the minibar to the different uses of light and motion capture. Chef Nuno's menu at Cozinha das Flores was an exciting modern take on Portuguese cuisine, many elevated forms of classics like pasteis de nata, tripe stew, and local seafood. You are right in the middle of the excitement in Porto and walking distance to the river and multiple other historical sites. Staff were extremely helpful, helping me ship souvenirs back home, plotting out a nice running path by the Douro, and even drying my shoes after I got them soaked right before dinner (my fault!). Great value, can't wait to stay again.
Ian M — Google review
I've traveled the world and there's just nothing like it. Stayed here with some friends and the attention to detail was impeccable. It's a place you want to tell everyone about but also keep as your little secret. The Largo is the height of luxury without being pretentious and makes you feel connected to the people and the city. Ask them about any art piece, design decision, napkin whatever! And they'll tell you the story of why it was curated for their guests. I've never felt more at home in a place that wasn't my home and it's a real testament to how the staff really care for their guests. I accidentally ate something I was allergic to (it was mild, I'm fine!) and at least 4 different staff members checked in on me throughout the rest of my stay. I'll be back to say thank you to my new friends and for whatever Chef Nuno's cooking.

The cathedral, market, and supermarket are all within 5 minutes on flat ground, which is great (though a bit noisy). 3. There's no elevator between the ground floor and the first floor, so you have to carry your luggage yourself. 4. The refrigerator was large, the water pressure was strong, and there were no bedbugs (there was a strange insecticide smell, but I think that's why there were no bugs). 5. The washing machine in the accommodation was broken, and although it took a while, they came to check on it right away even on Sunday and changed my accommodation. This elegant property features spacious rooms and suites, thoughtfully designed to highlight the building's original architecture while providing contemporary amenities. We had an absolutely delightful stay at Hotel Casa dos Lóios by Shiadu! The hotel itself exudes charm, and we were particularly enchanted by the serene ambiance of the inner courtyard, which provided a lovely oasis from the bustling city outside. Breakfast each morning was a highlight; the buffet was wonderful, offering a wide variety of delicious options to help start our day on a high note. What truly set our experience apart, however, was the incredible hospitality shown by the receptionist. Not only was she extremely friendly, but she also provided us with invaluable information about the local sights and tours. Her recommendations for dining were spot-on, leading us to some of the best meals we have had. Thank you, Hotel Casa dos Lóios by Shiadu, for making our visit so memorable. We can't wait to come back!

Rooms are a bit small but very clean and well kept. There was no noise around the hotel, so we slept very well! But the absolute best was the receptionsists and staff, who were absolutely perfect! Polite, understanding even when we had a small complaint (we ordered 2 single beds, and they gave us a double bed), they were very understanding, corrected this in no time, and were very nice. The staff is just amazing!

We recently stayed at Hotel Casa dos Lóios by Shiadu, the staff was great and very professional. The hotel is in a great location, so you can walk everywhere. Breakfast was really good with a variety of choices and the terrace was a highlight too. We stayed in the signature room which I think was a bit expensive, but really spacious and agreeable. So maybe opt for another room. Overall, our stay at the Hotel Casa dos Lóios by Shiadu was really good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic place with a lot of charm but still modern.

I had such a wonderful day at this hotel. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful from the moment I arrived. The breakfast was absolutely amazing — fresh, delicious, and far beyond what I expected. My room was spacious, comfortable, and so quiet that it was easy to relax even though I was right in the middle of downtown. The location couldn’t have been better — everything I wanted to see and do was just a short walk away. I can’t wait to come back!

We loved staying at Casa Dos Loios! We are a family of 4 and were so excited to stay in a historic hotel. We arrived early and the staff was so helpful and stored our bags. They gave us suggestions for lunch and places to see before check in. We stayed in the family suite which was the music room. The room had 3 beds and two bathrooms (we were surprised and happy about the bathrooms because we didn't realize that when we booked). All of the staff were incredible! Always ready to help in any capacity. They went above and beyond! The breakfast was also very nice and the staff was very attentive. They also kept coffee and tea available all day, which was amazing! We will definitely be back and would recommend for family & friends.
