The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart offers a captivating journey through 125 years of automotive history, showcasing vintage and modern vehicles that have shaped the car industry. The museum's sleek architecture mirrors the curves of high-speed race cars, setting the stage for an impressive collection that appeals to both avid car enthusiasts and those with a passing interest in automotive engineering. Visitors can explore key historical events intertwined with the evolution of automobiles, including poignant memories captured in photographs.
Me and my partner visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart and it completely exceeded our expectations. The architecture is incredible—it feels like you’re walking through a futuristic spiral of automotive history. The museum takes you on a journey from the very first motorcar all the way to modern innovations, with so many beautifully preserved vehicles and fascinating stories along the way. We loved how it tied in world history with the evolution of the brand. The Formula 1 section was easily my favorite—seeing the legendary cars up close was an absolute thrill. Staff were great, and the whole experience was unforgettable!

Wow...leave some time to explore this amazing piece of architecture! Your tour starts at the top and it's an easy walk down - through the time of auto and transport. Easily link world history and events to the evolution of personal transport. Interactive. Never felt crowded. Excellent facilities. Loved it!
B G — Google review
Incredible museum! The building is stunning, the exhibits are world-class, and the journey through automotive history is captivating from start to finish. Super clean, well organized, and great for all ages. A must-visit in Stuttgart — even if you’re not a car fan! What makes it truly special is how the story of Mercedes-Benz is told side by side with world history, I loved that! The journey through the history of Mercedes-Benz is perfectly intertwined with world history — you see how global events shaped innovation and design over time. The building itself is stunning, and the layout takes you on a fascinating journey through over 130 years of automotive history. From the very first automobile to futuristic concept cars, every floor is beautifully designed and full of innovation and storytelling. The audio guide and interactive displays make the experience engaging for all ages, and the way history and technology are woven together is impressive. You really feel the evolution of design, engineering, and culture. The staff are friendly and helpful, and everything is spotless and well organized. Absolutely fantastic experience for anyone curious about the power of creativity and progress!
Mihaela C — Google review
It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.
Mustafa A — Google review
I was very pleased with my visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum. It’s an excellent combination of showcasing the evolution of Mercedes and the broader progress of German industry and society throughout history. The exhibitions are modern, rich in content, and interesting for both adults and children. The entire space is clean, spacious, and very well organized. I recommend buying tickets online – it’s easy and helps avoid waiting. There’s also a large, convenient parking area. This museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Stuttgart!
Senad S — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is an absolute must-visit! The architecture is stunning, and the exhibition takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of the automobile. From classic models to modern innovations, everything is beautifully presented. Well-organized, interactive, and enjoyable for both car enthusiasts and families. Highly recommended!
Delia C — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is an incredible place to visit and one of the highlights of Stuttgart. I really liked the fact that the elevator takes you all the way to the very top of the museum, and from there you walk down through each level, enjoying the full history of Mercedes from its very beginnings to all the achievements throughout the century. The exhibits are beautifully organized, telling the story not just of the cars but also of the people and innovation behind them. The whole place is spotless, modern, and easy to navigate, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or just curious about history and design, this museum is a must-see.
Rafi S — Google review
Definitely a must try! If you are here you HAVE to visit the Museum and take at least one hour to enjoy it. 🚗 It will show you everything from the first inventions like first engines and first planes, it will show you important parts of history and how Mercedes-Benz managed everything through major events. ⛽🏎️ I will say again, this is a MUST!

I went to Porsche Museum back in August (sorry for the late review 😅) and I have to say; it’s a car enthusiasts dream and as one myself: I genuinely enjoyed it especially the history of how Porsche became one of the most iconic cars of Germany. I couldn’t contain my excitement seeing all 911s and other models evolving over the years. However it can be quite busy during the midday and the queues can vary, but I highly recommend you should book tickets ahead of time.

We recently had the chance to visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and it was an incredible experience. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by a stunning display of design, speed, and innovation that reflects the true **triumph of German engineering**. From the earliest Porsche models to cutting-edge concept cars, every exhibit showcases precision, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of performance. The museum's architecture itself is strikingly modern, mirroring the brand’s forward-thinking spirit. We were especially impressed by the motorsport section, which highlights Porsche’s dominance on the track and the technological breakthroughs behind it. Whether you're a lifelong car fan or just curious, the museum offers a deep appreciation for what makes Porsche — and German engineering as a whole — world-renowned. We left inspired and uplifted especially my husband who is cars enthusiast! Definitely must see!
Natasha K — Google review
Visiting this place is a must if you appreciate automobiles and the culture surrounding them. Although it is located a bit outside the city's heart, the experience is worth the travel. Be prepared for a potentially bustling atmosphere, as many people share your interest. To avoid queues and ensure entry, consider purchasing your tickets ahead of your visit. Enjoy the impressive assortment of Porsches on display for you to admire.
Jey A — Google review
This is a very nice museum. Lots of Porsche history is shown, special versions and good explanations via a mobile device with headset. I must admit that i only used it at the beginning, because some explanations are giving allot of info.you can also walk by and read the text.
René V — Google review
Great experience, from arrival in a motorhome and being given directions to park, then a nice walk through the site. Easy access to the entrance, with polite staff and audio equipment for translation. Plenty of visitors, but not crowded. A gentle walk around the displays, plenty of time to view, read or listen to the audio. Many vehicles on show. We hadn't pre-booked and arrived after lunchtime. Good value for money, definitely worth visiting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Porsche Museum is an absolute dream for car lovers! The exhibits are stunning, showcasing the brand’s history, design, and engineering in an engaging way. I could spend hours admiring the cars and displays. The only downside was the gift shop—it was insanely busy, with a line stretching out the front door. Still, the overall experience was incredible, and I’d do it again a million times over.
Roy M — Google review
Me and my partner visited the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and absolutely loved it. The building itself is stunning, and the exhibits inside are just as impressive. We were blown away by the range of cars—from classic models to legendary race cars. The layout made it easy to explore, and the audio guide added great background without being overwhelming. We spent a couple of hours there but could’ve stayed longer. The staff were super friendly. If you’re even slightly into cars, this place is a must-see!

Staatsgalerie Stuttgart is a vibrant museum that showcases a permanent display of 20th-century art alongside special exhibitions of prints, drawings, and photographs. The neoclassical-meets-contemporary architecture by British architect James Stirling gives the gallery a unique and colorful exterior.
A must-visit spot in Stuttgart! The architecture is striking both inside and out, blending modern design with classic elements. The collection is diverse, featuring everything from old masters to contemporary works. The layout makes it easy to navigate and enjoy the exhibits at your own pace. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great experience overall — highly recommended for art lovers and curious travelers alike!
Mohd S — Google review
This gallery was amazing to visit. It is so big you really could spend hours here if you wanted to take your time. Houses a whole room dedicated to Picasso with a dozen or so of his pieces. Also many other famous artists throughout the gallery like Modigliani, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Warhol. I went on a Saturday at lunch and expected crowds but it was fine and not too busy. And all for only 10euro entry. I love Germany.
Brenton T — Google review
The museum features incredible art collections from around the world! You can explore a variety of art forms, including abstract art, illusion art, oil paintings, acrylics, poster art, pencil drawings, and much more. If you are an artist and wish to observe every detail, it may take you about 2-3 hours, including breaks. Enjoy your visit!
Aishwaria O — Google review
One of the best museums in Stuttgart if you enjoy paintings in general. Entry to the main exhibition is free for students. It has two buildings: the older one is a nice mid-19th-century building that was originally an art school, and the extension building is one of the best works of James Stirling.
Khashayar E — Google review
I came to Stuttgart just to see this museum, and I was not disappointed. The galleries were very well curated and each to had a larger plaque explaining the concept for that gallery and why those works were shown together. I really appreciate this kind of organization, and it can be far more illuminating than just have a little blurb by each work. The collection has many significant masters as well as works from local history. Also, big shout out to the accessibility of this building! The museum is equipped with ramps and elevators throughout, and would be easy to navigate with a mobility device. You can also grab a carry-along stool for your convenience. Don't skip this museum! When everything else is closed on Sunday, the museum is open!
Amara C — Google review
I thought this was only for boring modern art, but apparently we can see a lot of old and beautiful painting. Definitely worth visiting twice.
Arsyatria A — Google review
Loved it. Not busy. Cool 20th century collection. Loved the Joseph Beuys room, the Oscar Schlemmer dancers room and paintings, and the Paul Klee’s
Naftali K — Google review
This is a good museum with a lot of nice exhibits. I was really impressed by their collection. I was a part of a group and we took a tour. However, the security personnel was a little aggressive towards some people in the group. To elaborate: Right in the beginning of the tour, some visitors got yelled at and sent outside because they had water bottles with them. Noone told the group this was not allowed. Then, when the tour guide wanted to show an art piece on a corner, some of the group came close to the other art piece in the other corner, while circling the guide. They didn't touch the item. (Most of the paintings are behind glass and being protected anyway.) They got yelled at by the security. This happened in at least 3 locations. Also there were like 1 security for each 10 visitors. No chill...

One of the must-visit museums in Stuttgart—shows history from places like Australia, Africa, Mongolia n more. Stuff they built, used, worshipped… all the things u prob saw in school books now right in front of u. Super cool and worth a visit.
Sandeep B — Google review
A delicate museum, with some intriguing collections of oriental cultures. Some space provides immersive sort of experience. And it’s children-friendly!
Yang F — Google review
Visited the museum with small kids, the so-called exhibition was just about chasing a bunch of stamps but otherwise the items on display are not interesting for kids nor is it in any way designed in a way that kids might find it interesting. The building is attractive but accessibility was difficult. Would not recommend or go again.

This museum has different sections, so you can get to know different histories….

It's a cultural museum concentrating on Tamil culture and traditions. Audio guides were provided. But having a translator is recommended if you don't read German. Google translate would work. Must visit. Fee was 12€ per person.

Best place when it us rainy. I visit it with my 8 and 5 years old grand-child. The 8 years old boy loves the audio guide. A great thing. Attention he or she will that u listen whole day 🤟🏾👍🏾😎😋 the little 5 year ild girls loves the Museum too. The People are very friendly. And they participate at the Arabic Film Festival 👍🏾 congrats.

What a snooze fest other than trying to figure out the jacked up layout; it’s not set up well at all. Maybe it’s just not my forte but I didn’t like it at all and found it was a waste of euro. I wish I could go back and not pay for not only the ‘special’ exhibit but also the regular one. They must know their exhibits aren’t that good because they weren’t as attentively monitoring guests as with the other museums I visited. As a matter of fact they even said that some of their stuff is recreations again another reason the others were better. It takes away the history part of it. Take the mock-up they made below to show the only four jewels they had.

The Landesmuseum Württemberg is a cultural museum located in the 16th-century Old Castle in Stuttgart, Germany. It offers a comprehensive exploration of Swabia's history from the Stone Age to the present day. The museum's main collections include archaeological artifacts spanning from Paleolithic to early Middle Ages, as well as antique glass and Roman antiquities.
One of the best museums I’ve visited. Local archeology is laid out thoughtfully and chronologically, interactive features and maps are well done. Celtic collection is wonderful especially the Hochdorf princely burial (Although that one is sort of hidden in another room with the Heuneberg and other settlement finds, don’t miss it) clock exhibit is also very interesting.

Plus: Very Accessible Not pricy entrance Nice arcade courtyard Comfy chairs Minus: Lack of good management: - no info or guidance of the event outside - the movie event was supposed to begin at 18:30 but began at 19:00. - chairs without reservation make people to move, when large groups want to stay together. - the doors open very late so people with needs stayed outside longer. - very cold foyer for a long movie and not pleasant with light of the windows near the screen. - very narrow way on the left of the chairs. People had difficulties getting in and out (poor architecture design). Can lead to dangerous hazard. - bad sound. I do not recommend this place for movies, maybe other types of events suits this place better. An architect will fix some problems that are not spotted by a average manager. It is a wonderful place but with a lack of good management can lead to an unpleasant evening.
Beavis A — Google review
Not a bad museum to visit. Don't know if they are short on staff but you can't see everything in one visit as certain exhibits are open throughout the day

This museum houses ancient & historical pieces of the locals from hundreds of years ago, but its wrapped in this interesting architectually designed building with multi-level arched balconys, circular windows, turret on each corner, metal statue of previous king all surrounding a central courtyard, very nice to see

An excellent museum with a great selection of exhibits: amazing ornamental glass in the basement, and upstairs, prehistoric/Roman/celtic/medieval and beyond. Three floors but note that (when I visited) nog all opened together (basement closed/1st floor opened at 1pm) so time accordingly... but there's loads here to keep you busy.

I've been traveling across Southern and Western Europe over the last nine months with my small family of three. We've been to numerous museums all over Rome, the Greek National Museum in Athens, Prado in Madrid, museums in Cork and Waterford in Ireland, Reading Museum and the British Museum in England, Waterloo Battlefield Museum in Belgium, the Archaeological Museum in Antibes and the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-Sur-Mer, France. Unfortunately, I have not been inside Landesmuseum Württemberg because carrying my 12L satchel - the same bag I've carried inside every aforementioned museum without issue this year, not including countless others in previous years - precluded me from entry. Yes, I was offered a bag check. No, I don't trust anyone with my personal items. Am I too difficult? Probably. Is this museum's policy on bags more prohibitive than any other in Western Europe? In my somewhat informed opinion, yes. What a shame.

The State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart is a treasure trove for anyone fascinated by the wonders of our planet. As one of Germany's largest natural history museums, it boasts an impressive collection of over 11 million scientific objects, including more than four million fossils that span millions of years. Visitors can marvel at captivating dinosaur displays, such as the prosauropod Plateosaurus and various marine reptiles like ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs.
The State Museum of Natural History at Stuttgart is a unique collection of several hundreds of dinosaurs, fossils, vertebrates, plants, insects, pre-historic humans etc and is one of the most important repositories for natural collections. Housed in three floors, it is also a great place for kids to watch and enjoy. Tickets are @5/3 Euros for adults/seniors and no charges for kids. There is a Cafeteria for snacks, beverages and ice creams. A shop inside offers soft and hard toys of animals for sale. The staff are helpful and great. It is great place to spend the day with family and children.

they did a fantastic job. You can clearly see the story of how life evolved, presented in an engaging way. However, I noticed that many visitors seemed to get lost along the way, as the layout is not very clear or concrete. The web app also malfunctioned frequently, requiring me to reload it several times, and some stations lacked numbers for the audio guide. Despite these issues, the audio guide was still far better than those I’ve encountered in other museums.
Alireza — Google review
Very nice experience, They also have a baby stroller parking 🅿️ space at the entrance if you need it. Plenty of things to see and many things to read, these are only in German language but with today's technology you can translate it very fast ⏩. I recommend visiting this museum if you are interested in this type of history or to entertain the kids.✌🏻
Michael B — Google review
Surrounded by a lovely green park, this excellent palaeontological collection is a celebration of Germany's rich fossil past, as most of the fossils displayed were found in the south of the country! Triassic dinosaurs, ice age mammals, and my personal favourite, Jurassic marine reptiles. This is one of my top recommended natural history museums, bar none. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit!
Alan D — Google review
We really enjoyed our time here with a young child. The Triassic exhibit was particularly engaging for children of most ages. Overall, the museum doesn't have the largest collection of fossils, but it's very solid and lots is translated into English. Bring your headphones or airpods. The smartphone audio guide was wonderful and also available in English or German. The stroller parking was well thought out as well as the coat room, which made it really easy with a child. Definitely a very well run museum!

An amazing museum with so much to see and learn! The exhibitions are really well designed - from dinosaurs and fossils to wildlife and gemstones, everything is presented in a way that’s both educational and fun. The displays are interactive, which makes it great for kids, but adults will enjoy it just as much. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the building itself is clean and easy to navigate. You can easily spend a few hours here without noticing the time. Definitely one of the best museums in Stuttgart - highly recommended for families, students, or anyone interested in nature and science!
Julian S — Google review
A great place to meet all the Dinos and fossils. We had a spontaneous visit as a family with two boys and everyone enjoyed it a lot. There is a restaurant directly at entrance. If you visit on cold seasons we recommend to leave your jacket downstairs next to toilets on the hangers or lockers. You can spend a good 90- 120 minutes there. It is a good mixture of learning/ playing and adventure

Constructed in 1927 for an exhibition by the Werkbund, it features pioneering architectural designs by renowned international architects such as Le Corbusier and van der Rohe. The estate showcases functional geometric building designs with minimal ornamentation and innovative construction methods including steel frames and prefabricated elements.
Absolutely unmissable highlight of a visit to Stuttgart. This is an architectural marvel. When it was first constructed in the 1920s it was effectively a model village exhibiting the very best in modern architecture and modern living. There are houses by Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe which still look outstanding now. The central museum can provide a walking tour of the whole estate.

Neat little museum, very informative. My other family members got something out of it despite not having much interest in architecture. Do keep in mind they ask you to lock away all bags, including purses, as the passageways are quite narrow.
Roly M — Google review
The Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart is a landmark of modern architecture, built in 1927 for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition under the direction of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Featuring designs by Le Corbusier, Gropius, and other pioneers, the estate showcased radical ideas of functional living with flat roofs, open floor plans, and minimalist facades. Today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an influential example of the International Style that shaped modern housing worldwide.

The SchweineMuseum Stuttgart is a unique and quirky attraction housed in an old slaughterhouse, offering a fascinating exploration of the history, mythology, and gastronomy of pigs. With over 45,000 pig-related objects including paintings, trinkets, photographs, cartoons, and piggy banks on display across 29 themed rooms, visitors are treated to a one-of-a-kind experience. The museum provides insight into pig-based rituals, boar hunting traditions, and pig worship from various cultures.
How many pigs and pig based articles are on display? This is an obsessive collection and unique for sure. The sheer vastness of the collection is impressive - there is a good restaurant and beer garden as well as free parking.
M S — Google review
Very interesting concept. Not very educational because it it just a bunch of pigs of every shape and size imaginable, but it was fun to go to with friends and gave us a good laugh. The restaurant was okay, but the waitstaff was not very friendly.
Allison F — Google review
Wired if the pig is not your favorite animal, however, quite impressive. Huge collection of pig and boar items, ranging from plates to stuffed animals, to candles. 🐗 🐖 They even have a calendar room that you can flip doors per day to see what pig is under your special dates. Enjoyable experience, even if pigs aren't your favorite animal. They have an adult exotic pig items room that you may want your kids to avoid. The beir garden is huge and has delicious food too.

Its cute to see so many things in pig shape, if you are bored then this is right place. Every room has a information about pigs which is interesting and you wil get to know lot more about pigs in different country and myths relating to them. The place takes around 1 hour to see both floors.

The museum's concept focuses on placing the history of Baden-Württemberg in a national context.
Surprisingly awesome museum with great exhibits and some of them are even interactive. It would be nice if they had more English translations available, we are in Germany though so I get why they don’t have any

free entrance in August. its a 2 floor museum of region and people history, the radical change in regiment, the mix culture and the inventions made.very interesting what i found awesome is the lighting map of the region from 1790 with steps and the moving tiles in the section of rebellion.

Great museum, focuses mostly on recent history. Not that many historical artifacts compared to other regional museums but has tons of personal stories and testimonies

Only rating 4 stars because there was no english translation on the info panels, so I had to constantly use my phone. The videos had subtitles. Otherwise, time well spent. The Frei Schwimmen will definitely be something I remember. Get the StuttCard for free entry and give it a go.
Claudiu C — Google review
It looked like the exhibits would have been interesting, but the very dim lighting and lack of English translations made it impossible to understand. Don’t bother if you don’t speak good German.
Helen B — Google review
Moderately interesting museum showcasing the history of the Baden-Würtemmberg area. Some of the exhibits don't seem to tie together very well and/or feel irrelevant. Additionally, some of the items feel repetitive. For example, there will be a passport from some random soldier from 1939, and then 4 display cases you will find another passport from the same time period. Note these are not significant people, just random documents they've received. Also note that all item descriptions are in German.

Huge frustration. This fabulous museum offers a wealth of material, but the English audio guide wouldn’t work for us. Every panel we clicked took us to the home page telling us THAT there was an English audio guide!

Amazing Place with Deep Connections to Design History 👏🏼 Such a beautiful and inspiring experience! The site has strong ties to the houses in Dessau, Weimar, and Brno, which made the visit even more meaningful. My family and I truly loved exploring this gem at the top of Stuttgart. If you enjoy modern architecture then ths is one of the highlights of Stuttgart - a village on a hill a short light rail ride from the city centre which was effectively an exposition in the very best modern architecture from the 1920s. Some of the houses have been demolished but the remainder are very well preserved and include buildings designed by Miles van der Rohe and Le Corbusier. The beautiful Le Corbusier house is now a museum which provides information about walking tours to see the other houses from the original development.

Very interesting visit and exhibition. Made me think that 100 hundred years ago we were exiting an undeceivable horror and it was an epoch of great expectations. The “roaring 20s”. We spectacularly trashed the chance and plunged into more horrors. Do we ever learn? Is it in our DNA to fail so ? So many assonances with the current times. Visiting the Weissenhof today pairs the great exhibit at the Guggenheim in Bilbao on the 20s.

The Weinbaumuseum Stuttgart is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts, offering a fascinating journey through the history of wine production in the region. Housed in a former wine-making facility, the museum showcases historical artifacts and viticulture-related art, providing insight into both historic and modern viticulture in Stuttgart. Visitors can also enjoy tasting opportunities at the museum's gift shop, making it an ideal complement to vineyard tours and wine tastings in the area.
Very educational tour given by Mr Wolfgang Mack (probably the boss/owner, most likely a very experienced sommelier; I didn't ask). Overall great service, made us feel very welcome, like at a friend's house. He recommended us a fruity white (Collegium Wirtemberg, 2015 Müller-Thurgau feinherb) which was wonderful - the first white wine I actually liked, and I don't even drink.

Interesting wine museum in Stuttgart that express the story and dewelopment of wineyards in BW. Its clear that wine quality not the best but good. Inside is full of historical samples from the old days. I like the old wine openers. At the entrance you can taste some local wines. It would make a better marketing if they include the wine tasting in the ticket and increase little bit the entrance fee:)

The people there are very accomodating. The museum is not that big but it says a lot about the history of the place. It is better to be there at 2pm since a lot of visitors are coming in in later hours. Good to spend about 45 minutes to an hour, and after that visit the vineyards and the chapel on top of the hill.

Cesar G — Google review
This place was a huge disappointment with awful customer service. I called a few days ahead of time and asked if tastings would be provided and was told yes. I did not elect to go on any tours because I was satisfied with what the employee told me about this place over the phone. When I arrived there with my friend that was visiting the staff seemed annoyed that we were there, and were very short and rude with us. I asked for a wine recommendation and the guy working seemed annoyed by that, even though he did recommend an excellent wine, it was the only positive part of the experience. My friend felt pressured to pick a wine she didn't really like because the employee was so rude and short with us, and she didn't feel comfortable asking to taste anything else. Menus were taken away from us while we were still looking, and the rest of the staff completely ignored us. We had a few glasses of wine, walked around the exhibits in the "museum" portion, paid, and got out of there immediately. It was a very negative and uncomfortable experience, and I will definitely not be returning here, total waste of an expensive cab ride.

We walked the 2.2km up the hill from the train station, then back. We went on a Sunday and there was only 3 other groups of people. It was nice to read about the wines, interesting big old building. Afterwards asked about wines and sampling at the counter, we were given a menu, not much help, other people seemed to be getter an explanation of wines. It was not busy so could not interstate why the poor customer service.

The Standseilbahn, also known as line 20, is a historic funicular railway in Stuttgart that has been in operation since 1929. It connects Sudheimerplatz in Heslach with the forest cemetery in Stuttgart-Degerloch. The teak cable cars have been preserved in their original condition and offer a nostalgic experience for visitors.
Visiting the Standseilbahn was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The ride itself was charming, and the area at the top of the hill had a quiet, peaceful beauty. The cemetery there was unlike any I’ve seen before—serene, full of character, and deeply moving. Walking through it became a reflective moment, a gentle reminder of the people I love and miss. It turned into more than just a tourist stop; it felt personal and meaningful in a quiet, unexpected way.

Otherwise, at €3.20, it's not exactly expensive either. The trip up to the Waldfriedhof cemetery is also particularly recommended for those who like to call for more weapons for wars. Look up there at the graves of the soldiers and civilians who died in the wars. It's bound to make any normal-thinking person think. On the other hand, this old cemetery from 1914 is simply a wonderful place with old trees and many deceased celebrities. Schaut euch da oben die Gräber der in den Kriegen gefallenen Soldaten und Zivilisten an. Jeden normal Denkenden bringt das unweigerlich zum Nachdenken. Very cool little museum with trams running on the historic line(s) on a Sunday. Entry fee is reasonable and you can get a combo ticket for the tram rides and museum entry. I understand they are going through some renovations at the moment and that one of the historic lines is not operational (I would recommend looking in advance on their website), but what they have on display is so amazingly well kept by the dedicated staff who volunteer here. Seriously, a big kudos to everyone who keeps these vehicles in tip top shape! You can buy books and models in the front of the museum; SSB models were available for purchase when I was there.

Beautiful tram museum, all old trams are well maintained. Usually less crowded. Good thing about this museum is that, one can go inside the older trams in museum and also go on a tram ride around the city for 4.5 euros. Entry fee is 5 euro, which i felt is little overpriced, 3 euro would have been perfect.

Miniaturwelten Stuttgart, also known as Miniatureworld Museum Stuttdart, is a remarkable miniature city built at a scale of 1:160. The museum showcases around 450 buildings, 4000 trees, over 2000 vehicles, and even 2500 graves. Despite some maintenance issues mentioned by visitors, the attention to detail in the layout is evident. Visitors are often surprised by the level of detail captured in this miniature version of Stuttgart from decades ago.
It is very interesting and incredible what was put together. The tour guide was really impressive how much he knew. Also interesting for the children as they had to look for scenes.
Irene L — Google review
Great location and friendly staff. Despite the attention to detail of the buildings and layouts, I found the maintenance of the setup to be lacking as a lot of it was dusty and quite a few figurines / trees were fallen over and some trains derailed - not working. The ticket price is also not cheap, but I understand the attention to detail that goes into something like this so I did not mind that.
Marton S — Google review
I liked it. A lot of little items and a small world but worth to spend half hour there. 9€ ticket.

Good for a quick visit/to kill 20mins. The model is huge, and has been painstakingly, and lovingly recreated. Some interesting bits to spot (the would be jumper, the Phil Collins tour bus). Worth a visit
Tarron — Google review
While the display is technically very good, especially the large central layout of stuttgart, all of the displays are tired and poorly maintained. Most layouts are dirty and in need of repair. Despite the large amount of track, movement of trains is limited to one of two per layout, even on the large display and some train speeds are too fast, not scale realistic. I did not stay long. Fortunately at 9Euro, it did not cost me a lot. The people were quite nice tho.
Andy B — Google review
Our original estimation was that the visit won't last more than half an hour. How wrong! The level of details, captured in what was Stuttgart couple of decades ago, will keep you in this Museum way longer 😊 Museum personnel can also tell you a very interesting story how this idea started and how it became a (more than) local topic.

The Gottlieb-Daimler-Gedächtnisstätte, located on Taubenheimstrasse, is a must-visit for car enthusiasts. This large shed holds historical significance as it was where Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach worked in the 1880s to develop the first light sprinting motor, a two-wheeled riding wagon, the first motorcycle, and the Neckar - the first motorboat.
This place is the holy ground for car enthusiasts, where the magic behind Mercedes-Benz all began. Walking through this place feels like stepping into the mind of the genius who kick-started the modern automotive world. It’s a small museum, but the history is immense, with displays that make you appreciate the engineering marvels we take for granted today. If you’re a fan of cars or just curious about how the ‘Urvater’ of Mercedes-Benz shaped the industry, this is a must-see. Leave here without a newfound respect for German engineering, and you might need a reality check—or a new car.

Very nice, small so its doesn’t require a lot of walking. Excellent replication of animals from all around. Most things are mainly in German, so you will find only around 30% in English but it was just good enough. Very friendly place, and warm inside.
Majd H — Google review
Great museum with a lot to offer! The displays were engaging, and the historical context was well-presented. The staff was attentive, though the gift shop was overpriced. A few more interactive elements would make it perfect.
Julian S — Google review
The staff treated us well by giving the info in English. I thought i shd pay 1 euro for this museum if i have the other museum ticket but i think they have increased the fee, the staff took 2 euro per person, which is fine. The place is good and informative. Being Agriculturist i loved the insect section. Would have loved if the information was in English.
Dr. N — Google review
although I'm not able to read the description in the description, I really enjoyed the whole visit. it was so much fun seeing all the animals and Insects. this place is suitable for parents to bring kids to know and understand in the animal world.

The Old Castle, originally constructed in the 10th century, is a significant historical site in Stuttgart. Adjacent to the New Palace, it once served as the residence for the rulers of Baden-Wurttemberg. Today, it houses part of the Württemberg State Museum and features an impressive collection that includes archaeological finds from UNESCO World Heritage sites in Blaubeurren & Swabian Jura.
I have been here many years ago alone and now in April 2025 I came back with my husband and children. Very beautiful museum! Interesting for adults and children. You can see the crown of kings and queens. Coins, armor, swords.
Iuliia P — Google review
The Old Castle (Altes Schloss) in Stuttgart is a historical symbol over 1,000 years old. It currently houses the State Museum of Württemberg. The building features interesting Gothic architecture and a beautiful inner courtyard. It’s a pity that with limited time this trip, I only managed to take some nice photos of the area in front, but I definitely plan to come back to visit the inside when I have the chance.
Tongz N — Google review
Good museum but nothing spectacular. Considering the not many other great options to visit in Stuttgart, I would recommend to drop by this museum.
Koycho K — Google review
The Wurtemburg museum is located on the main square Schlossplatz in the very center of Stuttgart. It's set in the old palace of Wurtemburg Kings originating into 10 cent, while the new grandiose palace is next door across the square. Today the old palace houses the Wurtemburg history museum, not a must, however interesting to spend some time in a city that doesn't have that much to offer
Dejan B — Google review
Great museum. You can hang out on the main floor for free, plus there is a coffee shop inside or you can pay to walk through the museum which is mainly on the second floor and part of the first floor. Once you purchase your tickets, they will scan them once you enter the museum area.
Bledar M — Google review
The Landesmuseum is really beautiful. Very nice exhibits.
Angela Z — Google review
Exhibit’s are ok. The staff are rude! Your typical stuttgart folk. My friend dropped his ticket under an exhibit and they said oh well 🤷🏻‍♂️. So then he could not see the rest of the place. Not the German hospitality I want to show my friends that I have come to know and love. Hire some better “security”
Kevin S — Google review
It was really good Very well designed and lots to see. It's very quiet, with kids activities in the first floor. I have spent 5 hours there, and I loved it so much!!!!

(Translated by Google) We were able to make a reservation at short notice. In the summery weather, we got a lovely table in the courtyard. After a smooth and very friendly reservation, we enjoyed a lovely evening with excellent, competent service and first-class food. For those interested in flora and fauna, there's an impressive bluebell tree in the courtyard. (Original) Wir haben kurzfristig reservieren können. Museum
Nestled in Stuttgart's Dorotheenstrasse, the Museum Hotel Silber opened its doors in December 2018, transforming a building that once served as the police headquarters and Gestapo center during the National Socialist era. This site carries a heavy historical weight, representing a place of fear and oppression. Today, however, it stands as a poignant memorial and educational hub dedicated to remembrance and enlightenment.
More people need to be going to this museum. Knowing history is so incredibly important to our present and future.

Well-thought out place with a deep history. I somewhat wish more of the original interior was preserved or shown, all I got to see was a little portion of Stucco from the ceiling, and a part of the former cell wall in the basement. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to explore the whole area, they have a permanent exhibition and a special exhibition covering two floors. It would probably take me 3 hours or a bit more to really go through everything in detail (longer as I’m not a native German speaker). Just a heads up that it is all in German as others have said, hopefully they will add an English translation at some point but until then, hopefully your B1 German will serve you well as it did me. Very quiet and not many people, it’s somewhat of a hidden gem museum-wise in the city. But the topic is very interesting and I’d like to explore it more in-depth if I’m ever back. But I appreciate little spots talking about local history like this, it’s important to reflect on the past in the ground you stand on.

A museum of the dark Ages in Germany.

It is hard to learn anything from this museum as an English speaker since the museum is in German and most exhibite are just based on documents, not pictures or anything else
D L — Google review
In this museum, we can learn about the history of the police in Germany over time.
IWA S — Google review
The staffs were very lovely. The content is quite cool, one small thing is that you need tobtaje GG translate with you since all content is in German.
