The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart offers a captivating journey through 125 years of automotive history, showcasing vintage and modern vehicles that have shaped the car industry. The museum's sleek architecture mirrors the curves of high-speed race cars, setting the stage for an impressive collection that appeals to both avid car enthusiasts and those with a passing interest in automotive engineering. Visitors can explore key historical events intertwined with the evolution of automobiles, including poignant memories captured in photographs.
Me and my partner visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart and it completely exceeded our expectations. The architecture is incredible—it feels like you’re walking through a futuristic spiral of automotive history. The museum takes you on a journey from the very first motorcar all the way to modern innovations, with so many beautifully preserved vehicles and fascinating stories along the way. We loved how it tied in world history with the evolution of the brand. The Formula 1 section was easily my favorite—seeing the legendary cars up close was an absolute thrill. Staff were great, and the whole experience was unforgettable!

Wow...leave some time to explore this amazing piece of architecture! Your tour starts at the top and it's an easy walk down - through the time of auto and transport. Easily link world history and events to the evolution of personal transport. Interactive. Never felt crowded. Excellent facilities. Loved it!

Incredible museum! The building is stunning, the exhibits are world-class, and the journey through automotive history is captivating from start to finish. Super clean, well organized, and great for all ages. A must-visit in Stuttgart — even if you’re not a car fan! What makes it truly special is how the story of Mercedes-Benz is told side by side with world history, I loved that! The journey through the history of Mercedes-Benz is perfectly intertwined with world history — you see how global events shaped innovation and design over time. The building itself is stunning, and the layout takes you on a fascinating journey through over 130 years of automotive history. From the very first automobile to futuristic concept cars, every floor is beautifully designed and full of innovation and storytelling. The audio guide and interactive displays make the experience engaging for all ages, and the way history and technology are woven together is impressive. You really feel the evolution of design, engineering, and culture. The staff are friendly and helpful, and everything is spotless and well organized. Absolutely fantastic experience for anyone curious about the power of creativity and progress!
Mihaela C — Google review
It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.
Mustafa A — Google review
I was very pleased with my visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum. It’s an excellent combination of showcasing the evolution of Mercedes and the broader progress of German industry and society throughout history. The exhibitions are modern, rich in content, and interesting for both adults and children. The entire space is clean, spacious, and very well organized. I recommend buying tickets online – it’s easy and helps avoid waiting. There’s also a large, convenient parking area. This museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Stuttgart!
Senad S — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is an absolute must-visit! The architecture is stunning, and the exhibition takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of the automobile. From classic models to modern innovations, everything is beautifully presented. Well-organized, interactive, and enjoyable for both car enthusiasts and families. Highly recommended!
Delia C — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is an incredible place to visit and one of the highlights of Stuttgart. I really liked the fact that the elevator takes you all the way to the very top of the museum, and from there you walk down through each level, enjoying the full history of Mercedes from its very beginnings to all the achievements throughout the century. The exhibits are beautifully organized, telling the story not just of the cars but also of the people and innovation behind them. The whole place is spotless, modern, and easy to navigate, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or just curious about history and design, this museum is a must-see.
Rafi S — Google review
Definitely a must try! If you are here you HAVE to visit the Museum and take at least one hour to enjoy it. 🚗 It will show you everything from the first inventions like first engines and first planes, it will show you important parts of history and how Mercedes-Benz managed everything through major events. ⛽🏎️ I will say again, this is a MUST!

I went to Porsche Museum back in August (sorry for the late review 😅) and I have to say; it’s a car enthusiasts dream and as one myself: I genuinely enjoyed it especially the history of how Porsche became one of the most iconic cars of Germany. I couldn’t contain my excitement seeing all 911s and other models evolving over the years. However it can be quite busy during the midday and the queues can vary, but I highly recommend you should book tickets ahead of time.

We recently had the chance to visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and it was an incredible experience. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by a stunning display of design, speed, and innovation that reflects the true **triumph of German engineering**. From the earliest Porsche models to cutting-edge concept cars, every exhibit showcases precision, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of performance. The museum's architecture itself is strikingly modern, mirroring the brand’s forward-thinking spirit. We were especially impressed by the motorsport section, which highlights Porsche’s dominance on the track and the technological breakthroughs behind it. Whether you're a lifelong car fan or just curious, the museum offers a deep appreciation for what makes Porsche — and German engineering as a whole — world-renowned. We left inspired and uplifted especially my husband who is cars enthusiast! Definitely must see!
Natasha K — Google review
Visiting this place is a must if you appreciate automobiles and the culture surrounding them. Although it is located a bit outside the city's heart, the experience is worth the travel. Be prepared for a potentially bustling atmosphere, as many people share your interest. To avoid queues and ensure entry, consider purchasing your tickets ahead of your visit. Enjoy the impressive assortment of Porsches on display for you to admire.
Jey A — Google review
This is a very nice museum. Lots of Porsche history is shown, special versions and good explanations via a mobile device with headset. I must admit that i only used it at the beginning, because some explanations are giving allot of info.you can also walk by and read the text.
René V — Google review
Great experience, from arrival in a motorhome and being given directions to park, then a nice walk through the site. Easy access to the entrance, with polite staff and audio equipment for translation. Plenty of visitors, but not crowded. A gentle walk around the displays, plenty of time to view, read or listen to the audio. Many vehicles on show. We hadn't pre-booked and arrived after lunchtime. Good value for money, definitely worth visiting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Porsche Museum is an absolute dream for car lovers! The exhibits are stunning, showcasing the brand’s history, design, and engineering in an engaging way. I could spend hours admiring the cars and displays. The only downside was the gift shop—it was insanely busy, with a line stretching out the front door. Still, the overall experience was incredible, and I’d do it again a million times over.
Roy M — Google review
Me and my partner visited the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and absolutely loved it. The building itself is stunning, and the exhibits inside are just as impressive. We were blown away by the range of cars—from classic models to legendary race cars. The layout made it easy to explore, and the audio guide added great background without being overwhelming. We spent a couple of hours there but could’ve stayed longer. The staff were super friendly. If you’re even slightly into cars, this place is a must-see!

Staatsgalerie Stuttgart is a vibrant museum that showcases a permanent display of 20th-century art alongside special exhibitions of prints, drawings, and photographs. The neoclassical-meets-contemporary architecture by British architect James Stirling gives the gallery a unique and colorful exterior.
A must-visit spot in Stuttgart! The architecture is striking both inside and out, blending modern design with classic elements. The collection is diverse, featuring everything from old masters to contemporary works. The layout makes it easy to navigate and enjoy the exhibits at your own pace. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great experience overall — highly recommended for art lovers and curious travelers alike!
Mohd S — Google review
This gallery was amazing to visit. It is so big you really could spend hours here if you wanted to take your time. Houses a whole room dedicated to Picasso with a dozen or so of his pieces. Also many other famous artists throughout the gallery like Modigliani, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Warhol. I went on a Saturday at lunch and expected crowds but it was fine and not too busy. And all for only 10euro entry. I love Germany.
Brenton T — Google review
The museum features incredible art collections from around the world! You can explore a variety of art forms, including abstract art, illusion art, oil paintings, acrylics, poster art, pencil drawings, and much more. If you are an artist and wish to observe every detail, it may take you about 2-3 hours, including breaks. Enjoy your visit!
Aishwaria O — Google review
One of the best museums in Stuttgart if you enjoy paintings in general. Entry to the main exhibition is free for students. It has two buildings: the older one is a nice mid-19th-century building that was originally an art school, and the extension building is one of the best works of James Stirling.
Khashayar E — Google review
I came to Stuttgart just to see this museum, and I was not disappointed. The galleries were very well curated and each to had a larger plaque explaining the concept for that gallery and why those works were shown together. I really appreciate this kind of organization, and it can be far more illuminating than just have a little blurb by each work. The collection has many significant masters as well as works from local history. Also, big shout out to the accessibility of this building! The museum is equipped with ramps and elevators throughout, and would be easy to navigate with a mobility device. You can also grab a carry-along stool for your convenience. Don't skip this museum! When everything else is closed on Sunday, the museum is open!
Amara C — Google review
I thought this was only for boring modern art, but apparently we can see a lot of old and beautiful painting. Definitely worth visiting twice.
Arsyatria A — Google review
Loved it. Not busy. Cool 20th century collection. Loved the Joseph Beuys room, the Oscar Schlemmer dancers room and paintings, and the Paul Klee’s
Naftali K — Google review
This is a good museum with a lot of nice exhibits. I was really impressed by their collection. I was a part of a group and we took a tour. However, the security personnel was a little aggressive towards some people in the group. To elaborate: Right in the beginning of the tour, some visitors got yelled at and sent outside because they had water bottles with them. Noone told the group this was not allowed. Then, when the tour guide wanted to show an art piece on a corner, some of the group came close to the other art piece in the other corner, while circling the guide. They didn't touch the item. (Most of the paintings are behind glass and being protected anyway.) They got yelled at by the security. This happened in at least 3 locations. Also there were like 1 security for each 10 visitors. No chill...

Wilhelma Zoological and Botanic Garden is a vast zoo and botanical garden located in a former royal park dating back to the 19th century. Originally created as a private retreat for Swabian King Wilhelm, it has now become one of Germany's largest zoos, attracting over two million visitors annually. The site features Neo-Moorish style buildings set amidst lush gardens, offering a unique setting for its diverse collection of animals and plants.
The best zoo in the world. I've been to all the London zoos and lots more throughout the UK and internationally — this must be the best zoo ever! It’s spacious, beautiful, clean. It wasn’t busy or crowded at all, even on a Sunday. Also it’s huge with so many animals! Which on the whole seem happy and looked after. And the gardens and greenhouses are stunning. Even the food and canteens/restaurants are lovely. We had the best day ever. And there’s so many play areas for kids as well. 10/10 you have to come if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it.
EM L — Google review
Beautiful garden + zoo which is so nicely maintained. The garden is spectacular. There is the cactus area which would mesmerize all garden lovers. The surroundings are well kept. The Amazon experience is amazing. The animals can be viewed closely, that's how the landscaping is done for their enclosures. Multiple restaurants are within the Wilhelma zoo. Not to forget some lucky ones even got peacock feathers. We visited on a Saturday with kids and it was a day well spent.
Amanda J — Google review
This was by far the biggest coolest zoo we've ever been to! Beautiful botanical gardens too! There's different microclimate buildings with native plants to those regions and the animals are out in their habitat when you walk through. We've never experienced anything like it, definitely the coolest thing we did while we were in Stuttgart! Parking was 8 euros, we spent 6 hours making our way through the park and could have been there even longer than that. We used the 3 day stuttcard that we purchased for entrance at the zoo. Well worth your time!
Julie R — Google review
I have visited zoo and botanical gardens lot of time but the trip to Wilhelma was a unique experience. It is constructed such that to give a natural habitat to the animals while people can also experience how the animals of wild look like. You can see them real close through glass windows. This was a very unique experience. There are all kinds of animals and birds. Since I have been only one time, due to limited time, I couldn't visit the Amazon forest and botanical gardens. But I am thinking of getting a yearly pass next year. Amazing experience. The nature truly is amazing and beyond words.
Shivam R — Google review
An absolutely impressive experience! Zoo Whelma stands out through its clever design and remarkable attention to detail. The artificially recreated habitats are vast and carefully crafted to reflect the natural environments of the animals. I was especially amazed by the presence of rare endemic species and the seamless blend of native flora with matching fauna. The dioramas are stunning, and the entire park feels like a perfect mix between a botanical garden and a zoo — a truly unique and memorable concept. It beautifully combines restored older sections with newly developed areas, showing both tradition and innovation. You can clearly see the passion and professionalism behind this project. I’m really looking forward to the opening of the two new wings, which will surely make the experience even richer. Highly recommended for all nature, education, and wildlife lovers!
Ioana N — Google review
One of the best zoos I have visited. They have many animals in well maintained enclosures. Many parks for children. Also have restaurants for visitors
Meha J — Google review
Very good zoo, from a walking perspective it is just the right size that when I get tired I've seen everything. Love the old menagerie-style iron buildings. The butterfly house is the best I've ever been to, and the small aquarium is always a hit with my kids. Food choice is good and not too expensive. Play areas are nice and give adults a chance to rest while the kids burn more energy. Enclosures seem a little small for some of the big animals, especially the internal areas for inclement/cold weather, but improvements have been made over the years and they continue to work at it. All in all we love the zoo, and are annual pass holders. Great to get the kids acquainted with these animals in real life and foster a love for all the worlds creatures large and small.
Christopher C — Google review
A beautiful and relaxing place to visit. We spent most of our time in the greenhouses and walking around the grounds rather than the more zoo-specific areas. We spent a few hours on a cloudy morning here happily. There were many benches to stop and relax on throughout.

The Landesmuseum Württemberg is a cultural museum located in the 16th-century Old Castle in Stuttgart, Germany. It offers a comprehensive exploration of Swabia's history from the Stone Age to the present day. The museum's main collections include archaeological artifacts spanning from Paleolithic to early Middle Ages, as well as antique glass and Roman antiquities.
One of the best museums I’ve visited. Local archeology is laid out thoughtfully and chronologically, interactive features and maps are well done. Celtic collection is wonderful especially the Hochdorf princely burial (Although that one is sort of hidden in another room with the Heuneberg and other settlement finds, don’t miss it) clock exhibit is also very interesting.
Erika S — Google review
Plus: Very Accessible Not pricy entrance Nice arcade courtyard Comfy chairs Minus: Lack of good management: - no info or guidance of the event outside - the movie event was supposed to begin at 18:30 but began at 19:00. - chairs without reservation make people to move, when large groups want to stay together. - the doors open very late so people with needs stayed outside longer. - very cold foyer for a long movie and not pleasant with light of the windows near the screen. - very narrow way on the left of the chairs. People had difficulties getting in and out (poor architecture design). Can lead to dangerous hazard. - bad sound. I do not recommend this place for movies, maybe other types of events suits this place better. An architect will fix some problems that are not spotted by a average manager. It is a wonderful place but with a lack of good management can lead to an unpleasant evening.

Not a bad museum to visit. Don't know if they are short on staff but you can't see everything in one visit as certain exhibits are open throughout the day

Pretty interesting museum, though not a lot available in English. Still worth the visit, since the price was quite affordable.

This museum houses ancient & historical pieces of the locals from hundreds of years ago, but its wrapped in this interesting architectually designed building with multi-level arched balconys, circular windows, turret on each corner, metal statue of previous king all surrounding a central courtyard, very nice to see

An excellent museum with a great selection of exhibits: amazing ornamental glass in the basement, and upstairs, prehistoric/Roman/celtic/medieval and beyond. Three floors but note that (when I visited) nog all opened together (basement closed/1st floor opened at 1pm) so time accordingly... but there's loads here to keep you busy.

I've been traveling across Southern and Western Europe over the last nine months with my small family of three. We've been to numerous museums all over Rome, the Greek National Museum in Athens, Prado in Madrid, museums in Cork and Waterford in Ireland, Reading Museum and the British Museum in England, Waterloo Battlefield Museum in Belgium, the Archaeological Museum in Antibes and the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-Sur-Mer, France. Unfortunately, I have not been inside Landesmuseum Württemberg because carrying my 12L satchel - the same bag I've carried inside every aforementioned museum without issue this year, not including countless others in previous years - precluded me from entry. Yes, I was offered a bag check. No, I don't trust anyone with my personal items. Am I too difficult? Probably. Is this museum's policy on bags more prohibitive than any other in Western Europe? In my somewhat informed opinion, yes. What a shame.

A delicate museum, with some intriguing collections of oriental cultures. Some space provides immersive sort of experience. And it’s children-friendly!

Visited the museum with small kids, the so-called exhibition was just about chasing a bunch of stamps but otherwise the items on display are not interesting for kids nor is it in any way designed in a way that kids might find it interesting. The building is attractive but accessibility was difficult. Would not recommend or go again.

What a snooze fest other than trying to figure out the jacked up layout; it’s not set up well at all. Maybe it’s just not my forte but I didn’t like it at all and found it was a waste of euro. I wish I could go back and not pay for not only the ‘special’ exhibit but also the regular one. They must know their exhibits aren’t that good because they weren’t as attentively monitoring guests as with the other museums I visited. As a matter of fact they even said that some of their stuff is recreations again another reason the others were better. It takes away the history part of it. Take the mock-up they made below to show the only four jewels they had.

Located in the heart of Stuttgart's main square, Schlossplatz, the Art Museum Stuttgart is a modern glass cube showcasing a diverse collection of contemporary and modern art. Opened in 2005, it features works by renowned German artists such as Wilhelm Heinrich Otto Dix, Willi Baumeister, and Adolf Holzel. The museum's bold design contrasts with the surrounding architecture and provides an ideal backdrop for its extensive collection.
Well located, no entrance fee, great artworks and nice atmosphere. And don't miss to visit museum shop !

The art museum in Stuttgart is really an amazing place to visit. The wide variety of exhibits and the powerful message and tones from the artist focuses the mind on current issues, and reflecting on the past to make comparisons with the modern world. It’s also nicely place for a drink in the heart of downtown, and after spending the day at the museum - there is a picturesque restaurant at the top. Viewing all of downtown Stuttgart from the full-height windows, it’s hard not to notice the vast size and bustling life that is Stuttgart.

Really cool mix of art here—4 floors packed with all kinds of stuff. Paintings, physical displays, even mini theatres inside. If ur into art, this place def sparks a lot of ideas n inspo. Easy to spend a few hours just explorin.
Sandeep B — Google review
Does the museum fit into its surroundings? The architecture itself is fine, though it doesn’t really harmonize with the Baroque and neoclassical buildings around the Schlossplatz. The pink cubes in front add little charm and feel somewhat out of place. Filling a large museum with strong contemporary art is a challenge, and here the result falls a bit flat, even if the exhibition halls are airy and spacious enough to showcase any kind of art in the world. The restaurant on the top floor and the bar on the ground level are fabulous.

The museum is located within the peculiar box-shaped, all glass building at Schloßplatz along Königstraße. We visited recently and enjoyed the permanent collection which is nicely laid out over two floors. There is probably 60-90 minutes worth of viewing depending on your interests and available time. The Graphics for the Dictatorship section is stark, at times dark but fitting for the era represented. There are particular impressive works by Otto Dix complemented by good works by fellow contemporaries. I found Kunstmuseum Stuttgart to have a nice collection if you have a interest in late 19th through 20th-century contemporary art world within Germany.

Natural history museum
The State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart is a treasure trove for anyone fascinated by the wonders of our planet. As one of Germany's largest natural history museums, it boasts an impressive collection of over 11 million scientific objects, including more than four million fossils that span millions of years. Visitors can marvel at captivating dinosaur displays, such as the prosauropod Plateosaurus and various marine reptiles like ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs.
The State Museum of Natural History at Stuttgart is a unique collection of several hundreds of dinosaurs, fossils, vertebrates, plants, insects, pre-historic humans etc and is one of the most important repositories for natural collections. Housed in three floors, it is also a great place for kids to watch and enjoy. Tickets are @5/3 Euros for adults/seniors and no charges for kids. There is a Cafeteria for snacks, beverages and ice creams. A shop inside offers soft and hard toys of animals for sale. The staff are helpful and great. It is great place to spend the day with family and children.

they did a fantastic job. You can clearly see the story of how life evolved, presented in an engaging way. However, I noticed that many visitors seemed to get lost along the way, as the layout is not very clear or concrete. The web app also malfunctioned frequently, requiring me to reload it several times, and some stations lacked numbers for the audio guide. Despite these issues, the audio guide was still far better than those I’ve encountered in other museums.

Very nice experience, They also have a baby stroller parking 🅿️ space at the entrance if you need it. Plenty of things to see and many things to read, these are only in German language but with today's technology you can translate it very fast ⏩. I recommend visiting this museum if you are interested in this type of history or to entertain the kids.✌🏻

Surrounded by a lovely green park, this excellent palaeontological collection is a celebration of Germany's rich fossil past, as most of the fossils displayed were found in the south of the country! Triassic dinosaurs, ice age mammals, and my personal favourite, Jurassic marine reptiles. This is one of my top recommended natural history museums, bar none. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit!
Alan D — Google review
We really enjoyed our time here with a young child. The Triassic exhibit was particularly engaging for children of most ages. Overall, the museum doesn't have the largest collection of fossils, but it's very solid and lots is translated into English. Bring your headphones or airpods. The smartphone audio guide was wonderful and also available in English or German. The stroller parking was well thought out as well as the coat room, which made it really easy with a child. Definitely a very well run museum!

An amazing museum with so much to see and learn! The exhibitions are really well designed - from dinosaurs and fossils to wildlife and gemstones, everything is presented in a way that’s both educational and fun. The displays are interactive, which makes it great for kids, but adults will enjoy it just as much. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the building itself is clean and easy to navigate. You can easily spend a few hours here without noticing the time. Definitely one of the best museums in Stuttgart - highly recommended for families, students, or anyone interested in nature and science!

A great place to meet all the Dinos and fossils. We had a spontaneous visit as a family with two boys and everyone enjoyed it a lot. There is a restaurant directly at entrance. If you visit on cold seasons we recommend to leave your jacket downstairs next to toilets on the hangers or lockers. You can spend a good 90- 120 minutes there. It is a good mixture of learning/ playing and adventure

Nestled in Stuttgart's Dorotheenstrasse, the Museum Hotel Silber opened its doors in December 2018, transforming a building that once served as the police headquarters and Gestapo center during the National Socialist era. This site carries a heavy historical weight, representing a place of fear and oppression. Today, however, it stands as a poignant memorial and educational hub dedicated to remembrance and enlightenment.
More people need to be going to this museum. Knowing history is so incredibly important to our present and future.
L S — Google review
Well-thought out place with a deep history. I somewhat wish more of the original interior was preserved or shown, all I got to see was a little portion of Stucco from the ceiling, and a part of the former cell wall in the basement. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to explore the whole area, they have a permanent exhibition and a special exhibition covering two floors. It would probably take me 3 hours or a bit more to really go through everything in detail (longer as I’m not a native German speaker). Just a heads up that it is all in German as others have said, hopefully they will add an English translation at some point but until then, hopefully your B1 German will serve you well as it did me. Very quiet and not many people, it’s somewhat of a hidden gem museum-wise in the city. But the topic is very interesting and I’d like to explore it more in-depth if I’m ever back. But I appreciate little spots talking about local history like this, it’s important to reflect on the past in the ground you stand on.

Schloss Solitude, a stunning rococo palace built between 1764 and 1769 for Duke Carl Eugen, is a must-visit gem located just outside Stuttgart. This magnificent structure not only boasts breathtaking views but also features delightful hiking trails that invite exploration of the surrounding lush forests. As you wander through its opulent halls, you'll discover fascinating artifacts from its history as a private hunting lodge. The serene gardens offer a perfect backdrop for memorable moments with friends or family.
Very nice place to walk by, have a picnic or just chill in the sun. It is free to go around and there is a cafe nearby. At the forest, there is some barbecue area. Although, there is no stairs to walk around the castle, the pathway is a little tricky for wheelchairs users.

Schloss Solitude is a stunning Rococo palace with breathtaking views over Stuttgart. The architecture is elegant, and the surrounding nature makes it a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Whether you're here for a picnic, a walk through the forest, or simply to admire the sunset, the atmosphere is always serene. The viewing platform offers fantastic panoramic views, and the walking trails around the palace make it a great spot for leisure activities. While the palace interior is only accessible via guided tours, the exterior alone is worth the visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with historical charm.

The Old Castle, originally constructed in the 10th century, is a significant historical site in Stuttgart. Adjacent to the New Palace, it once served as the residence for the rulers of Baden-Wurttemberg. Today, it houses part of the Württemberg State Museum and features an impressive collection that includes archaeological finds from UNESCO World Heritage sites in Blaubeurren & Swabian Jura.
I have been here many years ago alone and now in April 2025 I came back with my husband and children. Very beautiful museum! Interesting for adults and children. You can see the crown of kings and queens. Coins, armor, swords.

The Old Castle (Altes Schloss) in Stuttgart is a historical symbol over 1,000 years old. It currently houses the State Museum of Württemberg. The Wurtemburg museum is located on the main square Schlossplatz in the very center of Stuttgart. It's set in the old palace of Wurtemburg Kings originating into 10 cent, while the new grandiose palace is next door across the square. Today the old palace houses the Wurtemburg history museum, not a must, however interesting to spend some time in a city that doesn't have that much to offer

Great museum. You can hang out on the main floor for free, plus there is a coffee shop inside or you can pay to walk through the museum which is mainly on the second floor and part of the first floor. Once you purchase your tickets, they will scan them once you enter the museum area.

Prob the tallest tower in Europe n the view from up there is wild! Lift takes just 36 secs to shoot u up. Saw Stuttgart from way above—stadiums, highways n all. Def worth it. If u can, carry a binocular for extra fun at the top. A must-do spot!

The TV tower in Stuttgart is an impressive landmark and well worth a visit. It is included in the Stuttgart card, and there is also free parking right at the site which makes the visit easy. The ticket office doubles as a small souvenir shop with many interesting items, adding to the sense of arrival. Going up just before sunset proved to be a magical choice, as the city and surrounding hills slowly changed colour with the fading light. The panorama from the top is wide and striking, stretching far across the region. It is one of those places where the timing of your visit makes a big difference, and sunset truly enhances the experience.
Navid G — Google review
A striking feat of engineering and a symbol of post-war innovation in Germany. Completed in 1956, it was the world’s first television tower built using reinforced concrete; an architectural model that inspired towers worldwide, including those in Toronto and Johannesburg. Standing 217 meters tall, the tower offers panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, and even the distant Alps on clear days. A high-speed elevator takes you to the observation deck, where the city unfolds in all directions. Informative displays at the base explain its construction and global significance, making it more than just a lookout, it's a monument to modernist vision. Whether you're an architecture buff, a history lover, or just chasing the view, the Stuttgart TV Tower delivers a sky-high experience with substance.

Best view of the city could be possible from here. It is first TV tower so worth to visit and experience the engineering at that time. Price is bit too much under 10 euro make more sense, may be maintenance or whatsoever cause for current price. There is restaurant, funny is price is super expensive and rules is per sit you have to buy food, even for kids too. Plus we had experience from one lady staff member and feel not so welcoming only smile came after tip 😏. I would recommend to bring your small food or whatsoever stuff with you and go to the tower to enjoy the view only.

Went here for a special lunch and it exceeded our expectations. Food was incredible and you can’t beat the location and view. We had the Ramen and Sea Bass, could have eaten ten portions! 4/5 stars for service because they seemed to forget we didn’t order our main meal so it was delayed.

How should I praise the perfect menu I had here at CUBE, I would say it's better than most Michelin stars gourmet restaurants, period!!! Appetizer is seaweed seasoned with Eastern style sauce and mixed with cashew, the delicate taste came along with crunchy texture, what a good way to start. Followed by Canadian Pike Carppacio, Spicy Thai Soup, Scallop, New Zealand Fillet (medium rare), and ended with Apricot Mojito, everything was not just perfect, astonishingly delicious. Will definitely bring my family and friends here soon.

The view from restaurant Cube is second to none in Stuttgart. Every dish we had was outstanding and left my wife and I feeling very satisfied with our choice. Our server Robert was very helpful in explaining the menu, and was overall extremely pleasant in having conversation. I would recommend wearing some light comfortable clothes because it does get a little warm in the restaurant. Perfect for a date night with your loved one, or a small intimate meal with friends. The scallop dish and the yellowfin tuna w/risotto deserve special mention. It may be the best yellowfin i have had in years.

We ordered the vegetarian menu and were quite happy with it, everything was delicious and artistically plated. I chose three non-alcoholic pairings and I was fairly impressed with all three; I felt they were better suited to the dishes in general than the wine pairing that my partner got. The service was spectacular - attentive, yet gave us plenty of space and time to relax and enjoy and not be bothered. The atmosphere was not too busy, and the glass windows and view are breathtaking, the volume was medium to high side for such a venue but there was quite a loud concert going on outside and it still did not bother us.

The SchweineMuseum Stuttgart is a unique and quirky attraction housed in an old slaughterhouse, offering a fascinating exploration of the history, mythology, and gastronomy of pigs. With over 45,000 pig-related objects including paintings, trinkets, photographs, cartoons, and piggy banks on display across 29 themed rooms, visitors are treated to a one-of-a-kind experience. The museum provides insight into pig-based rituals, boar hunting traditions, and pig worship from various cultures.

Schillerplatz is a grand and historic cobblestone square located in the Old Town of Stuttgart. It features a statue commemorating Friedrich Schiller, a renowned German poet, philosopher, historian, and dramatist. The square hosts a vibrant flower market on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings and is also part of the annual Christmas Market in December.
Schillerplatz is considered Old Town of Stuttgart. The square is smaller but beautifully designed and the architecture is beautiful. Highly recommend.

This is a small and charming urban square in the Old Town of Stuttgart named after German Poet Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805). The square is fairly small but nicely framed by Altes Schloss, Stiftskirche and other nice buildings. There is a early 19th-century monument of Schiller worth seeing and the square is a major part of the annual Christmas Market being filled with highly decorative stalls and large crowds at this time of the year. It was quite the festive scene during our recent visit.

Schillerplatz is a stately cobbled square in Stuttgart’s old town, anchored by a commanding bronze monument to Friedrich Schiller, one of Germany’s most revered poets and playwrights. Erected in 1839, it was the first public monument in Germany dedicated to a civilian. Today, it’s surrounded by Renaissance architecture and lively cafés, offering a dignified yet inviting place to pause amid the city’s historic heart.

Step into the rich history and architectural grandeur of Stiftskirche in Stuttgart, a historic church dating back to the 10th century. This inner-city church is adorned with art, stained-glass windows, ancient bells, and a majestic pipe organ. The structure's Romanesque and Gothic styles reflect centuries of religious significance and cultural heritage.
I had the opportunity to worship in a very old church with some wonderful people. It was an anniversary celebration, and they played beautiful songs. However, the service here is in German and starts at 10:00 AM every Sunday.
Venkat R — Google review
It’s a beautiful church located close to Stuttgart’s city center. There are many cafés and restaurants nearby, making it a great place to visit and spend some time. It’s also within walking distance of Stuttgart Central Station.
Volkan O — Google review
Stiftskirche is Stuttgart’s oldest church and a defining feature of the city center, with roots dating back to the 12th century. Its architecture reflects a layered history; Romanesque foundations, Gothic towers, and post-war modernist elements added after heavy WWII damage. The church’s twin towers create a striking silhouette, and its role as the burial site for Württemberg royalty adds historical weight. Surrounded by shops and cafés, it stands as a quiet anchor to the city’s past amid the modern bustle.
E P — Google review
gothic evangelical church dated to 10th century. expanded over the years till the full modern renovation. inside are many stone altars and burial places of the region rulers from medieval ages.
David A — Google review
A great church to pop into. While the interior is a little diminished from the modern makeover- stage gear, glass panels, etc. It still features some incredible historical artifacts. Various statues line the walls. The church also features wonderful stained glass, and a massive pipe organ. Unfortunately I was not there for mass so I cannot comment on the acoustic qualities, however I'm sure they are impressive like most European churches.
Peter C — Google review
Must visit and free entry. The organ sounds are beautiful with the well designed interior acoustics. Stain glass area has eleven stone knights. Good for photos.

Amazing architecture donimates this church in the heart of town. While not very large, the church is beautiful to look at around sunset. (Unfortunately closed and not able to visit the inside.)

The Carl-Zeiss Planetarium Stuttgart is a family-friendly attraction that offers live lectures and high-tech projections to take visitors on a journey through the cosmos. Originally constructed in the early 20th century, the planetarium features a 360-degree dome with 220 seats where guests can watch various movies. The venue is named after the Zeiss laser projector located in the center of the dome, with the original projector on display at the ticket office.
The planetarium in Stuttgart is first, modern planetarium with an automatic projector. It currently boasts the highest contrast project manufactured, and is capable of star and video projection - making the presentation a stunning and beautiful event. The best use of a planetarium is to learn more about the sky, and naturally to also see, view, and experience the sky at times and locations that would otherwise be impossible (especially with kids). For example, I would recommend going to see the northern lights presentation. Because of the location of the planetarium - it is best suited to take the ubahn and you can get there directly from the main train station, or from the Charlottenplatz transfer station. Don’t expect to drive, as there aren’t any parking places readily available. After visiting the planetarium, you can walk around the corner and have a snack, beer, and the kids can play at the playground. Just a few more steps away and you can play giant chess, with 1 meter tall chess pieces!!!

Get there early! If you need English audio get it from the ticket office. Our show had just one unsold seat. Reclined seats are OK if you are under 6feet, if taller you have to sit awkwardly. Entertaining and enjoyable but wouldn't rush to return.
Ian M — Google review
Content good. But very disappointed to see that all the seats are designed for Adults only. My daughter was not able to push back her seat, she is 9 years old. It was very uncomfortable to look up that she couldn’t concentrate . I recommend science dome in Heilbronn Experimenta instead
Kiran T — Google review
Even though the technology of display is outdated it is a great experience. You can have the audio in English.

This is a really great venue with a variety of events and not just for star gazers. Check out the "Queen" show if you like Freddie and the boys music. It's a really great experience. Not lived in Stuttgart for a while but hopefully go back there and to this venue one day when we can travel 🤞

We visited here to watch the planetarium show. The seats are comfortable enough to watch the show with your friends and kids. However, kids might feel uncomfortable as it’s difficult for them to recline.

Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg is a modern museum that offers interactive exhibitions delving into over 200 years of regional history. It showcases the evolution of the Baden-Württemberg region through thousands of photos, videos, and more than 1,500 objects, including sports gear and vintage TVs. The museum's concept focuses on placing the history of Baden-Württemberg in a national context.
Surprisingly awesome museum with great exhibits and some of them are even interactive. It would be nice if they had more English translations available, we are in Germany though so I get why they don’t have any

free entrance in August. its a 2 floor museum of region and people history, the radical change in regiment, the mix culture and the inventions made.very interesting what i found awesome is the lighting map of the region from 1790 with steps and the moving tiles in the section of rebellion.

Great museum, focuses mostly on recent history. Not that many historical artifacts compared to other regional museums but has tons of personal stories and testimonies

Only rating 4 stars because there was no english translation on the info panels, so I had to constantly use my phone. The videos had subtitles. Otherwise, time well spent. The Frei Schwimmen will definitely be something I remember. Get the StuttCard for free entry and give it a go.
Claudiu C — Google review
It looked like the exhibits would have been interesting, but the very dim lighting and lack of English translations made it impossible to understand. Don’t bother if you don’t speak good German.
Helen B — Google review
Moderately interesting museum showcasing the history of the Baden-Würtemmberg area. Some of the exhibits don't seem to tie together very well and/or feel irrelevant. Additionally, some of the items feel repetitive. For example, there will be a passport from some random soldier from 1939, and then 4 display cases you will find another passport from the same time period. Note these are not significant people, just random documents they've received. Also note that all item descriptions are in German.

Huge frustration. This fabulous museum offers a wealth of material, but the English audio guide wouldn’t work for us. Every panel we clicked took us to the home page telling us THAT there was an English audio guide!

The Weinbaumuseum Stuttgart is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts, offering a fascinating journey through the history of wine production in the region. Housed in a former wine-making facility, the museum showcases historical artifacts and viticulture-related art, providing insight into both historic and modern viticulture in Stuttgart. Visitors can also enjoy tasting opportunities at the museum's gift shop, making it an ideal complement to vineyard tours and wine tastings in the area.
Very educational tour given by Mr Wolfgang Mack (probably the boss/owner, most likely a very experienced sommelier; I didn't ask). Overall great service, made us feel very welcome, like at a friend's house. He recommended us a fruity white (Collegium Wirtemberg, 2015 Müller-Thurgau feinherb) which was wonderful - the first white wine I actually liked, and I don't even drink.

Interesting wine museum in Stuttgart that express the story and dewelopment of wineyards in BW. Its clear that wine quality not the best but good. Inside is full of historical samples from the old days. I like the old wine openers. At the entrance you can taste some local wines. It would make a better marketing if they include the wine tasting in the ticket and increase little bit the entrance fee:)

The people there are very accomodating. The museum is not that big but it says a lot about the history of the place. It is better to be there at 2pm since a lot of visitors are coming in in later hours. Good to spend about 45 minutes to an hour, and after that visit the vineyards and the chapel on top of the hill.

Thanks for the service- it was good to know wine 🍷 making in Stuttgart
Cesar G — Google review
This place was a huge disappointment with awful customer service. I called a few days ahead of time and asked if tastings would be provided and was told yes. I did not elect to go on any tours because I was satisfied with what the employee told me about this place over the phone. When I arrived there with my friend that was visiting the staff seemed annoyed that we were there, and were very short and rude with us. I asked for a wine recommendation and the guy working seemed annoyed by that, even though he did recommend an excellent wine, it was the only positive part of the experience. My friend felt pressured to pick a wine she didn't really like because the employee was so rude and short with us, and she didn't feel comfortable asking to taste anything else. Menus were taken away from us while we were still looking, and the rest of the staff completely ignored us. We had a few glasses of wine, walked around the exhibits in the "museum" portion, paid, and got out of there immediately. It was a very negative and uncomfortable experience, and I will definitely not be returning here, total waste of an expensive cab ride.
J. G — Google review
We walked the 2.2km up the hill from the train station, then back. We went on a Sunday and there was only 3 other groups of people. It was nice to read about the wines, interesting big old building. Afterwards asked about wines and sampling at the counter, we were given a menu, not much help, other people seemed to be getter an explanation of wines. It was not busy so could not interstate why the poor customer service.

Bibliorama, the Bible museum in Stuttgart, offers a refreshing and interactive approach to exploring biblical texts. Initiated by the Evangelische Landeskirche (Protestant Church of Wurttemberg), this modern museum invites visitors to engage actively with its exhibits. Instead of traditional displays filled with ancient manuscripts, Bibliorama emphasizes hands-on experiences that allow guests to delve into the stories and teachings of both the Old and New Testaments.
It's a museum to interact. The focus is more on some people like Sara, Mose, David and many more. Take your time to read and play around :)

(Translated by Google) First the criticism: How will I be saved? You have nothing about Jesus Christ. Regardless of whether each of your Bible museums has certain focuses, one point of all is Jesus Christ! It must be present in every museum of yours. Where is he with you? Where do you tell about him and how to be saved? I should stand in reverence before Martin Luther? He was a person who fulfilled God's mission (I hope so). That means I'm just going to stand in awe of God. Playing spoken content is bad. That sounds like a cheap robot talking. God gave us the rainbow as a sign of the new covenant... under this sign do you go to the toilet in this museum? What is this please? I resisted going to the toilet. Donations to you will stop. The positive: this interactive museum is actually quite nicely designed. The staff was also very nice and remembered what we said or wanted to know. It was clean.

(Translated by Google) A very low-threshold exhibition in which the main message is not clear to me or is even missing. Why this exhibition? Because the Bible is God's Word? Because we need Jesus as Savior? Jesus practically doesn't appear at all in the bibliorama - even though HE is the common thread in the OT and NT! I expected a little more science, history and facts here, less gimmick! (Translated by Google) A wonderfully soothing oasis in the middle of the almost frightening hustle and bustle of a city center with no sights. Our visit here was the only right decision. We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the exhibition, which was then extensively viewed and tried out together with the children but also independently of each other. The fact that so many words from the Bible feel more relevant today than ever was a realization that I was able to take with me. I wholeheartedly recommend bibliorama.

Claudia J — Google review
A pleasant, architecturally elegant indoor market, but it may fall short if you're used to the energy and scale of larger market halls across Europe or the US. Housed in a striking Jugendstil building from 1914, the space offers a mix of upscale grocery stalls, wine bars, and specialty shops, more boutique than bustling. While the historic charm and tidy layout are appealing, the variety leans heavily toward gourmet imports and curated goods rather than local, everyday market fare. Still, it’s worth a stop for a drink, quick bite, or to admire the ironwork and glass ceiling, even if it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

The Weissenhof Estate, also known as Weissenhofsiedlung, is a significant housing development located near the Academy of Fine Art in the northern part of Stuttgart. Constructed in 1927 for an exhibition by the Werkbund, it features pioneering architectural designs by renowned international architects such as Le Corbusier and van der Rohe. The estate showcases functional geometric building designs with minimal ornamentation and innovative construction methods including steel frames and prefabricated elements.
Absolutely unmissable highlight of a visit to Stuttgart. This is an architectural marvel. When it was first constructed in the 1920s it was effectively a model village exhibiting the very best in modern architecture and modern living. There are houses by Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe which still look outstanding now. The central museum can provide a walking tour of the whole estate.

The Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart is a landmark of modern architecture, built in 1927 for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition under the direction of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Small and simple rail station with quick and frequent journeys to/from Stuttgart, making it fairly easy to make day trips to Esslingen. We did this during the recent Christmas Market and had a great day out in Esslingen and back to Stuttgart with plenty of time to freshen up before dinner.

The old town is quite beautiful with its many half timbered ancient houses and was a bit deserted. But the walk from the old town to the Bahnhof was also pleasant. The bahnhof itself seemed very crowded. Esslingen that way is a big town. But very much worth a half day visit from Stuttgart. The castle offers beautiful view of the town. One has to climb around 340 steps, the start of which is very inconspicuous. Near the fraulinkirsche. There an underpass for road crossing. Tubingen ahead is also good to see.

The Kindermuseum Junges Schloss is a fun and educational children's museum, perfect for kids aged four and up. The museum features interactive exhibits that teach children about regional history, art, and culture. Plus, the helpers are always happy to lend a hand! The Rauber Hotzenplotz exhibition was really great but the Fashion section was way better.
I definitely recommend it as a day-trip activity for children kindergarten age and up. We visited the fashion exhibition which promised a hands-on experience introducing children to clothes and fabric. We were not disappointed. The team guiding the children were well prepared and real professionals in how to tailor the presented material to the age of the audience. Our 4-year old child was impressed and children much older than her also seemed to be having a good time. It was fully interactive but also educational, with children learning about such topics as materials, care instructions, and creating their own patterns. The museum itself is not very large but the allocated 90 minute window passes by really quickly and you will wish that you could stay for longer. Recommendation to visit their website regularly and keep track of the different exhibitions that they will put up. Location/transport: It is slap bang in the centre of Stuttgart so consider public transport or one of the many Parkhouses in the city.

Please ask your front ticket staff to be nicer at people who need English. Also, please ask the guy upstairs who checks bags at the exhibition to understand that some people need to hold onto medicines and cell phones in a small bag. Both are rude. It's my first time here, and neither seem to be awarehow their behavior impacts people or that people from all different backgrounds come into museums. Museums and culture is inclusive. If you feel distain for English speakers or can't put signs up in more than one language, then you aren't doing your job. The only person willing to be a nice person is the tall guy at the entrance. The two others shouldn't be working in customer service. I'm thankful for the tall guy. Maybe my review will change if I ever come back.
E G — Google review
Well, that was absolutely useless. You basically have to wait for ages, don't really get to see anything, staff is unable to answer simple questions and are extremely rude.
A K — Google review
The pictures above are not current. We bought tickets online and we're the only ones there. No tests required. (Yay!) I went with a three and five year old. It is fashioned after a fashion theme. Coloring and designing with colored pencils. Costumes to try on (not open during corona), a stamping room (three year old liked this) and a studio room with lots of big soft blocks to move was a hit with both kids. You can also make friendship bracelets. Warm inside during summer. Any young children (8-9) interested in fashion may like this stop.
Coach M — Google review
The Children's Museum is a good way to kill an hour or so with kids. The staff inside the museum was super helpful and spoke both German & English. Signage in the museum is also in both languages. There was a lot of interactive stations for kids to learn through hands-on activities. Due to COVID-19, some of the displays were closed or roped off. Looking at other's photos on reviews, it seems that the museum changes themes ever so often. There were a bunch of birthday groups there and my kids didn't feel left out as the staff gave them undivided attention to make sure they were included and tried everything available to them.
Kim J — Google review
Small area but super friendly staff. We spend around 1:30h there and kids had some fun.

The Fruchtkasten - Musikinstrumentenmuseum, housed in the historic Fruchtkasten building, is a captivating destination for music enthusiasts. The museum boasts an impressive collection of historical musical instruments dating back to the 17th century. Visitors can explore various displays and even try their hand at playing some of the instruments on the top floor's interactive zone. Additionally, regular concerts are held at the venue, offering a delightful musical experience.
A great museum to spend some time in! There are several displays of old instruments dating back to the 17th century, at the top floor, there are instruments you can play, at the ground floor, there is usually some Classical music being played, in between, there are some great displays of instruments.
Alexander B — Google review
The museum itself is okay. Plenty instruments displayed and plenty information. What makes it a 3 star review is dat I did not feel comfortable at all during my visit. The museum employees kept following me around and keeping a very close eye on me as if they were scared I might touch anything. Made me very nervous.
Anthon — Google review
Friendly and helpful staff, great collection and nice that you can actually play some of the instruments. Most descriptions are only in German which may be too hard to read for some tourists though.

Nice university library. Very big, ground floor is dedicated to university students with lots of tables, talk is allowed. Entering in the actual library (1st and 2nd floor) means find a very quiet atmosphere, there is plenty of space to study and lots of desktop PCs with internet access. Wifi network "eduroam" available as well. A bit overcrowded during peak hours, especially during exam periods and saturday afternoons. Better arrive during the morning and take your seat asap.

But: the evening tariff (and the strolling tariff) no longer exists, i.e. instead of €7 (€9) for parking during a visit to the State Theater, €13 or more will be charged depending on the time. Luckily capped at a maximum of €19 per day :-(( Correction November 2024: there is an evening tariff on working days (again?) from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. at €8. That's ok. (Translated by Google) Very good parking garage for a trip to Königsstraße. You can reach your destination in just a few minutes through the underpass and through the park. The tariffs are ok, I think the flat rates in the evening are particularly fair. The parking garage is brightly lit and the parking areas are clearly visible. The pay machine is located right at the entrance and luckily you can also pay with card or cash! There are disabled and women's parking spaces. The parking spaces are sometimes quite narrow, but that's mainly due to those who can't park ;) You just have to be a little lucky when you leave to get someone to let you onto the road. There's a construction site right now and a bit of chaos. I was looking for things to do in Stuttgart and I found this winetour which turned out to be absolutely great. We had a great guide and at first I was a little bit skeptical because he said we are going to drink wine and play games, which for me coming from a wine region myself was a bit strange but..let me tell you, we had a lot of fun together with the group moving from one spot to another, doing something goofy, sipping some chilled wine and getting to know eachother. The vineyards inside Stuttgart are over 300 years old and they look absolutely stunning, right in the city center. I highly recommend this tour for a easy- breazy-boozy afternoon 🙂

(Translated by Google) A total flop! The booking agency should quickly check their guides. We were registered with 16 girls for a stag or hen party and were met at a parking lot in 30-degree heat and full sunshine. Originally for a covered wagon ride, it was canceled a week in advance, so it was time for hiking and games. After not explaining what to expect, the guide instead told us in less than five minutes about his burnout and experiences with playmates!? We then went to a small animal breeding association, where we were able to take a break in the shade – drinks were available. Then we went to a tiny hut in a vineyard with no shade! There wasn't even enough seating for everyone. Questions about the wine were met with only unqualified blabber, and the guide even drank with us. Absolutely outrageous at that price!

I highly recommend this quiet courtyard.

(Translated by Google) After 20 years, we submitted an application for the first time in the hope of receiving some recognition in the form of funding. Over 20 years of history with over 400 events worldwide is not worthy of funding for the institute. Unfortunately, a lot of effort for nothing. Impersonal rejection without reason. The decision-making process as to which projects are funded and which are not is withheld from the applicant and is not transparent. It's better to save your time and invest in something else. Same waste of time as applying to the Goethe Institute.

(Translated by Google) We were able to make a reservation at short notice. In the summery weather, we got a lovely table in the courtyard. After a smooth and very friendly reservation, we enjoyed a lovely evening with excellent, competent service and first-class food. For those interested in flora and fauna, there's an impressive bluebell tree in the courtyard.
