Market
Markthalle Stuttgart is a bustling food hall located in an early-1900s art nouveau building. Situated in the vibrant heart of Stuttgart, it enjoys a constant flow of visitors due to its proximity to Schillerplatz, home to various events like flea markets and wine festivals. The food hall offers a diverse range of dining options including Italian restaurants, cafes, bars, and dessert spots all under one roof.
Lots of great selections of meats, cheeses and desserts and much more. This place is wonderful and a must check out! Right inside the city square and there is usually an open market outside with other items for sale of the weekends.
Royce P — Google review
This lovely indoor market where you can find fresh produce, meats, cheeses, wines, and worldwide delicatessens. It’s also where this beautiful store Merz & Benzing is located in with 3 floors full of housewares and books. A must visit!
Cess G — Google review
Amazing place with fresh fruits and vegetable ,pastries, seafood sandwiches and everything you can imagine.
Claudia J — Google review
A pleasant, architecturally elegant indoor market, but it may fall short if you're used to the energy and scale of larger market halls across Europe or the US. Housed in a striking Jugendstil building from 1914, the space offers a mix of upscale grocery stalls, wine bars, and specialty shops, more boutique than bustling. While the historic charm and tidy layout are appealing, the variety leans heavily toward gourmet imports and curated goods rather than local, everyday market fare. Still, it’s worth a stop for a drink, quick bite, or to admire the ironwork and glass ceiling, even if it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
E P — Google review
A beautifully refurbished market hall from 1914. It doesn’t have the vibe of other market halls or food halls like Madrid, Amsterdam, London or NY, however, it is very “proper” and has all one looks for in a market. Not many dining options though.
Z U — Google review
Fantastic place to shop for everything from fresh produce, meat, seafood and then specialty food items. Upon a recommendation, I came here at "happy hour" time after work about an hour before the market closes. I had a tapas style snack at a vendor selling Greek or Mediterranean food items and a nice glass of wine. Very reasonable prices. I also stopped at a confectionary stall that had the most amazing dates stuffed with a bunch of sweet items. The one with halva was soooo good. Highly recommend to others. I'm sure the locals all know this place and it's featured widely on travel lists of places to visit in Stuttgart, but I'll add in my thumbs up for visitors to make this a must see while in town.
Margalit M — Google review
We loved walking through this market and tasting so much variety. The dates from Dubai were our favorite
Genevieve M — Google review
Beautiful historic market hall with a wide variety of high-quality food, delicacies, and local specialties. The atmosphere is lively yet refined, and everything is well presented. Perfect for food lovers and anyone who enjoys gourmet shopping in an elegant setting.

This modern complex, which opened its doors in April 2006, spans an impressive 45,000 square meters and features a diverse array of international brands. Visitors can enjoy a delightful food court on the top floor and find convenience with a supermarket located on the first level.
Beautiful mall. I was surprised when I went inside. I love how they have beautiful fresh flowers everywhere. Definitely eye catching for me. Staff are friendly and know. I love the great and big selection of winter clothes they have here. From high end stores to any other stylish smaller stores to fit your pockets.
Tee W — Google review
Nice shopping arcade in the city center with a good mix of stores, cafés, and restaurants. The architecture is elegant, and the location right at Schlossplatz makes it ideal for a short stop while exploring Stuttgart. Clean, well maintained, and usually not too crowded.
Nicolas — Google review
It was my first visit! I found what I was looking for and I noticed how many more shops are available to serve other needs - a great variety! It was also clean, with broad corridors and escalators to move easily around as well direct connection to U-Bahn - not to mention that is located at the heart of the city with all choices in a short walking distance. I will definitely use it as a checkpoint during my shopping visits at Stuttgart center.
Dimitrios K — Google review
Almost every shop is inside this. Asian store, mediamarkt, action, the toilet is on 3rd floor and its not free, its 0.70 €. There are many restaurants on 2nd floor.
Abhishek K — Google review
This place looks so damn good. It gives you a feel that you are in Italy whilst you are staying in Germany. The aesthetic of this passage is actually very very pretty and I never miss to go here whenever I visit Stuttgart . Do visit the fancy restaurants and the amazing pastry place at the end of the passage.

We liked the cafe on the second floor, at the very end of the corridor. Turkish. They have very tasty potatoes with meat and salad. In general, the center is very beautiful, especially at this time.

Shopping mall
Nestled in the heart of Stuttgart, MILANEO Stuttgart stands as a vibrant testament to modern architecture and shopping culture. This expansive complex spans 43,000 square meters across three levels, housing around 200 diverse shops and services. From international brands like Swarovski and Mango to cozy cafes and restaurants, there's something for everyone here. The dynamic design of the center is particularly captivating at night when its stylish storefronts come alive.
If you are left with an hour or two to shop in Stuttgart, you may skip the famous shopping street and get your items here. Shorter to walk, air conditioned and similar merchants. Asians would love this shopping mall!
Steven H — Google review
Nice experience. We didn't have much time and had Primark as the target shop. So achieved our goal in almost 2 hours. Next time will visit for the whole day to enjoy the shopping experience.
Dr. H — Google review
Milaneo shopping mall in Stuttgart has a great variety of stores, so there is something for everyone. The food court is nice with plenty of options to grab a bite. The area itself is pleasant and it is super convenient being right next to the City Library. The only thing that surprised me was that you have to pay for parking in the garage. Not even the first hour is free. I guess they want to make sure only visitors to the mall are parking there.
I. F — Google review
A large shopping center. There are many stores, although our main goal was just the food court since everyone was hungry. We were not disappointed—everyone found something they liked. Overall, the shopping center was clean, but some of the restrooms were noticeably less clean.
Rainis K — Google review
A large shopping mall with many well-known chain stores. The layout is quite confusing, and it would have been nice to have more seating areas – especially when buying a coffee or something similar. Unfortunately, the noise level was extremely high, making it uncomfortable to stay for long. The range of shops is the only real highlight.
Kaos — Google review
Mall , containing many of the important goods & restaurants for families
Jamal Q — Google review
it´s a very large mall, with so many things to do. I find mapping could have been done a little nicer, so it would be easier to navigate. also it is way too hot in the food court area.
Josephine J — Google review
Nothing special. Center as any other, somehow confusing organisation and opening times from 10AM (I would laugh at it). What I really found is a parking lot is nice, but women drivers are dangerous, they are driving wrong direction almost each of them, so be careful in the garage.

Incredible museum! The building is stunning, the exhibits are world-class, and the journey through automotive history is captivating from start to finish. Super clean, well organized, and great for all ages. A must-visit in Stuttgart — even if you’re not a car fan! What makes it truly special is how the story of Mercedes-Benz is told side by side with world history, I loved that! The journey through the history of Mercedes-Benz is perfectly intertwined with world history — you see how global events shaped innovation and design over time. The building itself is stunning, and the layout takes you on a fascinating journey through over 130 years of automotive history. From the very first automobile to futuristic concept cars, every floor is beautifully designed and full of innovation and storytelling. The audio guide and interactive displays make the experience engaging for all ages, and the way history and technology are woven together is impressive. You really feel the evolution of design, engineering, and culture. The staff are friendly and helpful, and everything is spotless and well organized. Absolutely fantastic experience for anyone curious about the power of creativity and progress!
Mihaela C — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is a true architectural and historical masterpiece, offering an immersive journey that appeals far beyond just automotive enthusiasts. It is, without a doubt, one of the best corporate museums in the world and a must-visit landmark in Germany. Brilliant Architecture and Chronological Design The building's ingenious double-helix architecture guides the visitor through time. You ascend to the top floor—the birth of the automobile—and then spiral down through nine levels, witnessing 130 years of history unfold chronologically. This unique design ensures a seamless and captivating flow. The lighting, presentation, and curation of the exhibits are world-class, giving every vehicle, from Karl Benz's first patent motor car to the modern F1 racers, the reverence it deserves. Innovation Contextualized in World History What truly elevates this museum is how it integrates the vehicles with parallel world history. Each exhibition floor connects Mercedes-Benz's technical progress with defining moments and culture of that era. You see the evolution of luxury, safety, and racing innovation—including the legendary Silver Arrows and the iconic "Gullwing" models. The sheer volume and diversity of cars, trucks, and prototypes are breathtaking, illustrating Mercedes-Benz's influence on global mobility. Conclusion: For its stunning design, technical depth, and engaging historical context, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a powerful experience. The exhibition is impeccably maintained, the staff are helpful, and the ticket price offers fantastic value for a deep dive into industrial heritage. Allow at least three to four hours to properly explore this brilliant celebration of engineering. Highly, highly recommended when visiting Stuttgart.
Muhammad A — Google review
It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.
Mustafa A — Google review
⭐ 10/10 — a place I’d gladly visit again I visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum on a Sunday and it turned out to be a great decision. It wasn’t crowded, so I could walk around comfortably and really enjoy the atmosphere. The whole place is extremely clean and well-organized, and you can see how much attention is put into every detail. The audio guide was another highlight: clear, easy to follow, and filled with interesting facts. It doesn’t just talk about cars, but also about the history and the world around the inventions. At some points it genuinely feels like a small time-travel experience. Even if you’re not a big car fan, the museum still has a lot to offer. It tells a wider story about innovation, progress and the people behind it all. Each floor adds something new and keeps you curious. I’m not adding too many photos here because I’d rather keep some intrigue for future visitors. If you’re in Stuttgart, this place is definitely worth a visit. 👉 Highly recommended 👍
Andrii D — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An outstanding experience! The Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart is truly impressive, beautifully designed, perfectly organized, and full of fascinating history and stunning cars. The storytelling from past to present is exceptional, and every floor offers something unique. A must visit in Stuttgart for anyone who appreciates quality, innovation, and great hospitality. Highly recommended!
Filippos V — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum isn't just a place for car enthusiasts; it is a meticulously curated journey through industrial and global history that easily earns its five stars. The experience begins with a profound reverence for innovation, celebrating Mercedes-Benz as the true pioneer of the internal combustion engine—the very invention that birthed the modern automobile in 1886. The cloverleaf architecture is genius, guiding visitors chronologically through the "Legend Rooms." You descend through nine floors of history, witnessing the evolution from the first Patent-Motorwagen to the latest concepts. The promise of the museum holds true: it has all the cars, showcasing an incredible collection of over 160 vehicles, including legendary Silver Arrows, luxurious Popemobiles, and iconic vehicles from every era. What elevates this museum far above others is its educational depth. It skillfully weaves the story of the founders, Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler, presenting not just their creations, but the entrepreneurial spirit and visionary ideas that drove them. Even more impressively, the museum integrates this automotive narrative with the broader history of the world, offering context on social and technological upheavals, allowing you to see how the car shaped (and was shaped by) the events of each period. It is a stunning, comprehensive, and perfectly presented exhibition that honors a legacy of engineering excellence. An absolute essential visit in Stuttgart!
Micu V — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is nothing short of extraordinary—a world-class experience that blends automotive history, innovation, and storytelling into one unforgettable visit. From the moment you step inside the striking, futuristic building, you’re transported into the rich legacy of one of the world’s most influential automotive brands. What impressed me most was the sheer breadth of historic Mercedes-Benz models on display. The museum takes you on a chronological journey, beginning with the very invention of the automobile and guiding you through decades of engineering achievements, design evolution, and cultural impact. I was genuinely amazed to discover just how deeply Mercedes-Benz has been woven into major historical moments over the years—whether in motorsport, luxury travel, or groundbreaking technological advancements. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated, offering the perfect blend of information, visuals, and interactive elements. This isn’t just a place for car enthusiasts, though they will certainly be in heaven. It’s an experience the whole family can enjoy. There’s so much to see, explore, and learn that even those who aren’t deeply into cars will find themselves captivated. The museum is spacious, beautifully organized, and designed to keep visitors engaged at every turn. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time—at least a few hours—to truly appreciate everything the museum has to offer. From early prototypes to legendary racing cars, from elegant classics to modern innovations, every level reveals something new and fascinating. Incredible in every sense, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a must-do for anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the brand or simply curious about automotive history, this museum delivers an experience that is both inspiring and unforgettable. Highly recommended.

We recently had the chance to visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and it was an incredible experience. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by a stunning display of design, speed, and innovation that reflects the true **triumph of German engineering**. From the earliest Porsche models to cutting-edge concept cars, every exhibit showcases precision, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of performance. The museum's architecture itself is strikingly modern, mirroring the brand’s forward-thinking spirit. We were especially impressed by the motorsport section, which highlights Porsche’s dominance on the track and the technological breakthroughs behind it. Whether you're a lifelong car fan or just curious, the museum offers a deep appreciation for what makes Porsche — and German engineering as a whole — world-renowned. We left inspired and uplifted especially my husband who is cars enthusiast! Definitely must see!

Visiting this place is a must if you appreciate automobiles and the culture surrounding them. Although it is located a bit outside the city's heart, the experience is worth the travel. Be prepared for a potentially bustling atmosphere, as many people share your interest. To avoid queues and ensure entry, consider purchasing your tickets ahead of your visit. Enjoy the impressive assortment of Porsches on display for you to admire.

Such a cool experience to be able to go here, loved the interactive bits but the story telling could’ve been done better for Ferdinand Porsche’s life. Coming from my time in the Mercedes Benz museum down the road which did their story telling impeccably. Definitely go here though, would highly reccommend if you like looking at high horsepower monsters and multi million euro cars!

Very nice museum with a really big collection of … Porsche’s of course, what else?! It talks about the really fascinating history, the ups, the downs, the successes, the what ever you want to know about this magnificent sports performance vehicles. It’s a must visit in stuttgart!

Car enthusiasts will love it. The museum will give you a diving in the history of Germany and automobiles. The visit starts at the visitor center going up to the 8th floor down. There’s parking on the streets nearby and some parking nearby the museum. Parking garage is also available nearby. Tickets may be bought online or in person. It is kids friendly and wheelchair accessible. There’s a souvenir store, a restaurant and more downstairs from the visitor center.

A must see for car enthusiasts and history lovers. The museum is nicely laid and and takes you through the history of Porsche from the early days to modern day. Go early to avoid crowds. A fantastic experience overall.

The Porsche Museum is absolutely incredible and a must-visit for anyone who loves the Porsche brand. The collection is stunning, with so many iconic cars from throughout Porsche’s history displayed in a beautifully curated space. From groundbreaking race cars to legendary road cars, every exhibit highlights the brand’s innovation and engineering excellence. My personal favorites were the Nurburgring record-breaking 919 Evo, which is breathtaking to see up close, and the Carrera GT, a true masterpiece of design and performance. The museum perfectly captures what makes Porsche special, and it’s well worth the trip for any automotive enthusiast.

Wilhelma Zoological and Botanic Garden is a vast zoo and botanical garden located in a former royal park dating back to the 19th century. Originally created as a private retreat for Swabian King Wilhelm, it has now become one of Germany's largest zoos, attracting over two million visitors annually. The site features Neo-Moorish style buildings set amidst lush gardens, offering a unique setting for its diverse collection of animals and plants.
The best zoo in the world. I've been to all the London zoos and lots more throughout the UK and internationally — this must be the best zoo ever! It’s spacious, beautiful, clean. It wasn’t busy or crowded at all, even on a Sunday. Also it’s huge with so many animals! Which on the whole seem happy and looked after. And the gardens and greenhouses are stunning. Even the food and canteens/restaurants are lovely. We had the best day ever. And there’s so many play areas for kids as well. 10/10 you have to come if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful garden + zoo which is so nicely maintained. The garden is spectacular. There is the cactus area which would mesmerize all garden lovers. The surroundings are well kept. The Amazon experience is amazing. The animals can be viewed closely, that's how the landscaping is done for their enclosures. Multiple restaurants are within the Wilhelma zoo. Not to forget some lucky ones even got peacock feathers. We visited on a Saturday with kids and it was a day well spent.

Huge place to visit, great value for money of you go on sight seeing. Wilhelma is both a botanical and a zoological garden with a great collection in both fauna. There are a lot of things to do for children (special places were they can climb and play) but as well as a lot of places to grab something to eat or a coffee or a … bear.

This was by far the biggest coolest zoo we've ever been to! Beautiful botanical gardens too! There's different microclimate buildings with native plants to those regions and the animals are out in their habitat when you walk through. We've never experienced anything like it, definitely the coolest thing we did while we were in Stuttgart! Parking was 8 euros, we spent 6 hours making our way through the park and could have been there even longer than that. We used the 3 day stuttcard that we purchased for entrance at the zoo. Well worth your time!

Wilhelma is an absolute must-visit and a stellar example of modern zoological care! From the moment you step inside, the entire park feels incredibly well maintained—a truly pristine environment. The focus on animal welfare is clear; the complex features very good, spacious animal sanctuaries that clearly contribute to happy animals throughout the exhibits. It's truly heartwarming to see the dedication of the staff, and it’s obvious there are a lot of workers enjoying their job, which adds to the positive atmosphere. A fantastic, ethical, and beautiful day out!
Micu V — Google review
I have visited zoo and botanical gardens lot of time but the trip to Wilhelma was a unique experience. It is constructed such that to give a natural habitat to the animals while people can also experience how the animals of wild look like. You can see them real close through glass windows. This was a very unique experience. There are all kinds of animals and birds. Since I have been only one time, due to limited time, I couldn't visit the Amazon forest and botanical gardens. But I am thinking of getting a yearly pass next year. Amazing experience. The nature truly is amazing and beyond words.
Shivam R — Google review
An absolutely impressive experience! Zoo Whelma stands out through its clever design and remarkable attention to detail. The artificially recreated habitats are vast and carefully crafted to reflect the natural environments of the animals. I was especially amazed by the presence of rare endemic species and the seamless blend of native flora with matching fauna. The dioramas are stunning, and the entire park feels like a perfect mix between a botanical garden and a zoo — a truly unique and memorable concept. It beautifully combines restored older sections with newly developed areas, showing both tradition and innovation. You can clearly see the passion and professionalism behind this project. I’m really looking forward to the opening of the two new wings, which will surely make the experience even richer. Highly recommended for all nature, education, and wildlife lovers!

All this green area , birds and animals is a joy of soul and eyes. Never had this much of calm in a very long time. I am happy that I visited it today. Note : I arrived at the gate and it was opened and none there , I stepped one foot to see where is the staff and a guy firmly asked me to step outside again. I didn't and showed him my ticket , he check it and then allowed me to enter. His behavior was so rude.

Staatsgalerie Stuttgart is a vibrant museum that showcases a permanent display of 20th-century art alongside special exhibitions of prints, drawings, and photographs. The neoclassical-meets-contemporary architecture by British architect James Stirling gives the gallery a unique and colorful exterior.
A must-visit spot in Stuttgart! The architecture is striking both inside and out, blending modern design with classic elements. The collection is diverse, featuring everything from old masters to contemporary works. The layout makes it easy to navigate and enjoy the exhibits at your own pace. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great experience overall — highly recommended for art lovers and curious travelers alike!

This gallery was amazing to visit. It is so big you really could spend hours here if you wanted to take your time. Houses a whole room dedicated to Picasso with a dozen or so of his pieces. Also many other famous artists throughout the gallery like Modigliani, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Warhol. I went on a Saturday at lunch and expected crowds but it was fine and not too busy. And all for only 10euro entry. I love Germany.

The museum features incredible art collections from around the world! You can explore a variety of art forms, including abstract art, illusion art, oil paintings, acrylics, poster art, pencil drawings, and much more. If you are an artist and wish to observe every detail, it may take you about 2-3 hours, including breaks. Enjoy your visit!

One of the best museums in Stuttgart if you enjoy paintings in general. Entry to the main exhibition is free for students. It has two buildings: the older one is a nice mid-19th-century building that was originally an art school, and the extension building is one of the best works of James Stirling.
Khashayar E — Google review
Wonderful collection of artwork in an iconic postmodern building. Highly recommended. Had the place largely to ourselves!

I came to Stuttgart just to see this museum, and I was not disappointed. The galleries were very well curated and each to had a larger plaque explaining the concept for that gallery and why those works were shown together. I really appreciate this kind of organization, and it can be far more illuminating than just have a little blurb by each work. The collection has many significant masters as well as works from local history. Also, big shout out to the accessibility of this building! The museum is equipped with ramps and elevators throughout, and would be easy to navigate with a mobility device. You can also grab a carry-along stool for your convenience. Don't skip this museum! When everything else is closed on Sunday, the museum is open!

The Landesmuseum Württemberg is a cultural museum located in the 16th-century Old Castle in Stuttgart, Germany. It offers a comprehensive exploration of Swabia's history from the Stone Age to the present day. The museum's main collections include archaeological artifacts spanning from Paleolithic to early Middle Ages, as well as antique glass and Roman antiquities.
One of the best museums I’ve visited. Local archeology is laid out thoughtfully and chronologically, interactive features and maps are well done. Celtic collection is wonderful especially the Hochdorf princely burial (Although that one is sort of hidden in another room with the Heuneberg and other settlement finds, don’t miss it) clock exhibit is also very interesting.

Plus: Very Accessible Not pricy entrance Nice arcade courtyard Comfy chairs Minus: Lack of good management: - no info or guidance of the event outside - the movie event was supposed to begin at 18:30 but began at 19:00. - chairs without reservation make people to move, when large groups want to stay together. - the doors open very late so people with needs stayed outside longer. - very cold foyer for a long movie and not pleasant with light of the windows near the screen. - very narrow way on the left of the chairs. People had difficulties getting in and out (poor architecture design). Can lead to dangerous hazard. - bad sound. I do not recommend this place for movies, maybe other types of events suits this place better. An architect will fix some problems that are not spotted by a average manager. It is a wonderful place but with a lack of good management can lead to an unpleasant evening.

This museum houses ancient & historical pieces of the locals from hundreds of years ago, but its wrapped in this interesting architectually designed building with multi-level arched balconys, circular windows, turret on each corner, metal statue of previous king all surrounding a central courtyard, very nice to see

An excellent museum with a great selection of exhibits: amazing ornamental glass in the basement, and upstairs, prehistoric/Roman/celtic/medieval and beyond. Three floors but note that (when I visited) nog all opened together (basement closed/1st floor opened at 1pm) so time accordingly... but there's loads here to keep you busy.

I've been traveling across Southern and Western Europe over the last nine months with my small family of three. We've been to numerous museums all over Rome, the Greek National Museum in Athens, Prado in Madrid, museums in Cork and Waterford in Ireland, Reading Museum and the British Museum in England, Waterloo Battlefield Museum in Belgium, the Archaeological Museum in Antibes and the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-Sur-Mer, France. Unfortunately, I have not been inside Landesmuseum Württemberg because carrying my 12L satchel - the same bag I've carried inside every aforementioned museum without issue this year, not including countless others in previous years - precluded me from entry. Yes, I was offered a bag check. No, I don't trust anyone with my personal items. Am I too difficult? Probably. Is this museum's policy on bags more prohibitive than any other in Western Europe? In my somewhat informed opinion, yes. What a shame.

Esslingen Market Square is a charming open-air marketplace located just 15 minutes from Stuttgart by local train. The square hosts a medieval market with merchants wearing traditional clothing and demonstrating medieval crafts like glassblowing. Visitors can enjoy artists, music, food, and holiday events. The Christmas Market is particularly enchanting with detailed decorations and people dressed in beautiful medieval costumes, creating a unique atmosphere that transports you back in time.
The starting point for the local Christmas Market if arriving from the Esslingen Neckar Train Station on day trip from Stuttgart. Stalls here are beautifully setup with Christmas theme with charming building framing the market.

Beautiful town. We were lucky to be there for the summer festival.
Christoffer S — Google review
If there’s one place that captures the soul of Esslingen, it’s the Marktplatz — a broad, picture-perfect square framed by half-timbered houses, each one looking like it belongs on the cover of a fairytale book. The colors, the angles, the rooftops — everything here feels timeless. On a Sunday, though, the vibe completely changes. The usually buzzing square slows down into something beautifully calm and reflective. Most of the shops are closed, and you can finally hear the fountain trickling and the bells from the nearby Frauenkirche echoing through the air. Locals stroll quietly, couples sit on benches with coffee to-go, and the café terraces — the few that open on Sundays — become little pockets of lazy contentment. Without the weekday rush, you start noticing the details — the ornate carvings on the old guild houses, the contrast between pastel facades and the red roofs, and the way the square gently slopes toward the church. If you stand in the middle and spin slowly, you’ll see centuries of history in one 360° view — it’s that kind of place. And when the sun’s out, the light hits the buildings just right, creating this warm, honey-colored glow that’s pure cinematic gold. Photographers love it, and honestly, it’s hard to take a bad shot here.

Birkenkopf, also known as "Monte Scherbelino" or "Mount Rubble," is the highest point in Stuttgart, standing at 511 meters above sea level. It is a literal mountain of rubble from the ruins of the city after World War II. The hill serves as a memorial to the war's victims and a warning to future generations.
A place with historical importance and a stunning panoramic view of the city of Stuttgart. I went there on Silvester and the view of the city was simply unforgettable. It's also a good hike to reach the top.

Gualbert M — Google review
Nice view of the city, interesting history area. It's a super easy hike, mostly paved walkway, not even 15 minutes to the top and not steep. Parking is free at the bottom. Nice little thing to do quick one morning or afternoon?
Kristin P — Google review
500 meters above sea level, ~300 meters above Neckar river, there is a great view of the city of Stuttgart! Between 1953 to 1957 on this hill 1.5 millions cubic meters of city ruins were poured, that's why the hill became even 40 meters higher. During WWII about 45 % of Stuttgart was destroyed, so this hill also has its history, about which reminds the big Cross on the top of it.
Rokas M — Google review
The only reason this gets four stars is because the city hasn’t cleaned up any of the graffiti. If you’re from a country that was involved in World War II, this is a must-see. The fact the entire hill is build upon rubble from over 50 air raids performed on Stuttgart is humbling. To describe the atmosphere in a single word, nothing does it more justice than “heavy”. With a gloomy sky, misty rain, and no one around, the atmosphere was a lot to take in. The sheer history held here is almost oppressive. Whether or not you possess an interest in history, it’s worth the trip to just take it all in and consider that those stones aren’t just debris—they used to be part of a city full of people who didn’t ask for what they got. Five minute walk up the hill and another twenty to just soak in the views is all you need. Be sure to bring a camera.
Jeffrey B — Google review

Step into the rich history and architectural grandeur of Stiftskirche in Stuttgart, a historic church dating back to the 10th century. This inner-city church is adorned with art, stained-glass windows, ancient bells, and a majestic pipe organ. The structure's Romanesque and Gothic styles reflect centuries of religious significance and cultural heritage.
I had the opportunity to worship in a very old church with some wonderful people. It was an anniversary celebration, and they played beautiful songs. However, the service here is in German and starts at 10:00 AM every Sunday.

Stiftskirche is Stuttgart’s oldest church and a defining feature of the city center, with roots dating back to the 12th century. Its architecture reflects a layered history; Romanesque foundations, Gothic towers, and post-war modernist elements added after heavy WWII damage. The church’s twin towers create a striking silhouette, and its role as the burial site for Württemberg royalty adds historical weight. Surrounded by shops and cafés, it stands as a quiet anchor to the city’s past amid the modern bustle.

A great church to pop into. While the interior is a little diminished from the modern makeover- stage gear, glass panels, etc. It still features some incredible historical artifacts. Various statues line the walls. The church also features wonderful stained glass, and a massive pipe organ. Unfortunately I was not there for mass so I cannot comment on the acoustic qualities, however I'm sure they are impressive like most European churches.

What a snooze fest other than trying to figure out the jacked up layout; it’s not set up well at all. Maybe it’s just not my forte but I didn’t like it at all and found it was a waste of euro. I wish I could go back and not pay for not only the ‘special’ exhibit but also the regular one. They must know their exhibits aren’t that good because they weren’t as attentively monitoring guests as with the other museums I visited. As a matter of fact they even said that some of their stuff is recreations again another reason the others were better. It takes away the history part of it. Peaceful place. Great for a walk around the three lakes and a stop for a bite to eat or drink a coffee afterwards. Everything is great.

Food was really good here, but the desserts weren't that impressive. There's a menu written with chalk, and one picks the dishes from the list and orders at one of the 3 counters. The food is ready really fast, so even though there's a big line at the entrance, it doesn't take too long for it to move. There are tables inside on the ground floor, where the food is also ordered, and there's a second floor with more tables. There are also tables on the outside and when the weather is nice there's even some benches and a beer garden. The bathrooms are accessible from the outside, but as these can be used by anyone visiting the Pfaffensee, they tend to be a bit dirty. It's a very nice place to come with visitors, family and children, but it's a bit on the expensive side.

A great place for refreshments after visiting the Glems river and the lakes. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. The place is overcrowded on weekends. The toilets are usable, but not very clean (especially on weekends).

Popular for a reason! A great stop if you’re walking/riding on the trails, whether for just a beer or a full meal. Although most people seemed to enjoy a dessert with coffee. The atmosphere is lively, especially on a beautiful day. Views are great from the tables upstairs. Really can’t go wrong here and it’s great for families (not a full playground, though, like most Biergartens). The only downside for me was the limited and low quality bier vom fass options, but Schwabenbrau is the usual sponsor for many restaurants in the area, so not surprised.

Hiked the park and right un the middle was this great resting spot. Although we just had a little treat, there is a full restaurant options. I spied on the plates of other patrons and the food looked and smelled fabulous. It was a holiday weekend and the place was packed, however it was very efficient and we only waited in line for only 3-4 min. There was seating up on a deck around the building as well as inside seating and out in the yard surrounding. So never a concern as to finding a place to sit down and enjoy your treat! Bathrooms were plentiful, there was a line for the women's, but it went quickly for as busy as it was. The park walk was splendid, even for early spring I found some blooms and a very interesting water foul that I have never seen in the states!

The Bärenschlössle looks very impressive. It's dimly cozy inside. You go to the counter, place your order and are given a number and then wait. There are two floors in the building with tables. My Maultaschen and the potato salad were reasonable for the price and very tasty.

If you're an architect or interested in architectural history, you should definitely see it. It's a 10-minute ride from the central station using the U5.

If you enjoy modern architecture then ths is one of the highlights of Stuttgart - a village on a hill a short light rail ride from the city centre which was effectively an exposition in the very best modern architecture from the 1920s. Some of the houses have been demolished but the remainder are very well preserved and include buildings designed by Miles van der Rohe and Le Corbusier. The beautiful Le Corbusier house is now a museum which provides information about walking tours to see the other houses from the original development.

Very interesting visit and exhibition. Made me think that 100 hundred years ago we were exiting an undeceivable horror and it was an epoch of great expectations. The “roaring 20s”. We spectacularly trashed the chance and plunged into more horrors. Do we ever learn? Is it in our DNA to fail so ? So many assonances with the current times. Visiting the Weissenhof today pairs the great exhibit at the Guggenheim in Bilbao on the 20s.

Review for Das Gerber Stuttgart Das Gerber is a modern, centrally located shopping center in Stuttgart, offering a great mix of fashion, lifestyle stores, and diverse dining options. One highlight is Coffreez, where you can enjoy delicious, freshly-made crepes—perfect for a snack break during your shopping trip. The mall’s sleek design, wide walkways, and frequent events make it more than just a typical shopping destination. Plus, it’s easily accessible with convenient public transport links and parking (though a bit pricey). Overall, Das Gerber is ideal for anyone wanting a stylish yet relaxed shopping experience in Stuttgart.

History Museums
The Gottlieb-Daimler-Gedächtnisstätte, located on Taubenheimstrasse, is a must-visit for car enthusiasts. This large shed holds historical significance as it was where Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach worked in the 1880s to develop the first light sprinting motor, a two-wheeled riding wagon, the first motorcycle, and the Neckar - the first motorboat.
This place is the holy ground for car enthusiasts, where the magic behind Mercedes-Benz all began. Walking through this place feels like stepping into the mind of the genius who kick-started the modern automotive world. It’s a small museum, but the history is immense, with displays that make you appreciate the engineering marvels we take for granted today. If you’re a fan of cars or just curious about how the ‘Urvater’ of Mercedes-Benz shaped the industry, this is a must-see. Leave here without a newfound respect for German engineering, and you might need a reality check—or a new car.

I am in love with that place and I will go within the first days once I land in Germany. Their restaurant is great and fresh. The different labels they carry is from luxury to normal brands. Beautiful children’s section with a gaur dresser. Great shop in shop system with beautiful stores. Definitely a must to go there.

I placed an order that included a sweater and a shirt, but only the sweater was delivered. Despite making several calls to the call center and sending multiple emails to customer service, the issue remains unresolved. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, especially given the high expectations I had based on the company’s reputation. As a frequent online shopper, I’ve never faced such issues with other retailers like Zalando, even after numerous orders. I expected a much higher level of service and reliability. Unfortunately, this has left me questioning whether I can trust this company for future purchases.

They tried to circumvent consumer legislation!!! 2 issues, one was an inconvenience the second was an attempt to circumvent consumer law!!! I purchased trail running shoes through Breuninger, twice they sent me the wrong colour. the first time they said I needed to return them rather than them letting me keep them, the replacement pair were again the wrong colour so I told them of their mistake and told them I would keep the different coloured shoes... an inconvenience but not a major issue. However, I returned the shoes due to the sole deteriorating after approx 80km of trail running and 5 months of owning them. They tried to offer me a 15% discount on my next purchase (something they give new consumers) and told me that if I accepted it I would have no further recourse. #Adidas #adidasTerrex I hope you don't condone this kind of behaviour from #Breuninger

Our company bought a Mercedes E class in June, since then it has already been to the service twice, after the second time we were promised that everything would be fine, but after a week the problems started again, every day when driving in the middle of the road all the electronics and all the sensors turn off and the driver does not understand whether all the safety systems are working or not. Then after some time everything turns on by itself. The company's employees do not want to drive this car because they fear for their lives. And the company suffers losses because of this. Mercedes employees say that this is the case with all cars. If Mercedes used to be a guarantee of quality, now Chinese cars probably have better quality and service than here.

Böhm Sushi in Stuttgart, always on the top of the sushi experience in Stuttgart. My personal favorites here are SHAKEKYURI (Salmon, avocado, omelette in cucumber and sesame), HOURENSO-GOMA-AE (Leaf spinach with sesame dressing and sesame) and SPICY TUNA ROLL (Chopped tuna with chilli sauce sesame seeds and spring onions). Everything else is high class!
Jerg L — Google review
Sushi restaurant is small and the sushi is made with fresh ingredients. You can’t reserve a table so you always have to wait for one or eat at the bar. Service is very fast. However, you always feel rushed as there are always people waiting for a table and cannot enjoy your time. They also do not serve dessert. Unfortunately most of the sushi is either with mayo or cream cheese. Not a big fan of milk based products in sushi.
Marni A — Google review
Coming from France, I was very excited to see the different products that this famous supermarket had. And honestly, I was quite disappointed. I have given it a try several times, in order to base my review on accuracy, objectivity and respect. Unfortunately, every time that I have been there it was a very disagreeable experience. All the food that I have tested is outrageously expensive for no taste or a bad taste. Moreover, we paid a big amount of money for a very questionable quality but also for a very poor service. I can understand that sometimes, people can have a hard day, but to be treated that way, is just not acceptable for the renown of this grocery. Staff were quite disagreeable, no smile, no warmth and almost disrespectful. Someone had the gut to appear bothered when I was asking the ingredients of their dishes, that he obviously did not know because of his constant checking on his computer. Then, I have been rudely answered and also the cashiers are heavily disagreeable and disrespectful. Greeting people, looking at someone when you are talking to them, welcoming people, are things that do not seem to be part of their standards. In summary, I had big expectations and I was very disappointed for the prices with the quality of the food/taste, but also and in major part by the very poor service that we get there. Respect should be at least one of your priorities in such a work field.

Hotel Unger is a low-key 4-star lodging located in the heart of Stuttgart, just a short walk from the State Gallery of Stuttgart Staatsgalerie and the central square 'Schlossplatz'. The hotel offers modern rooms with amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, cable channels, and direct dial phone. Guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet and unwind at the bar or explore nearby attractions like Schlossplatz Square and the New Castle.
I had a misunderstanding, but the people at the reception were very kind about it, which I was pleasantly surprised by and really appreciated, as I have been yelled at for more minor things several times in Germany. Thank you! The room was comfortable enough and the breakfast was great.
Ana — Google review
The reception staff was helpful and friendly, despite the late hour. Room 607 was clean, but pretty bare. Positive: windows could be open for some fresh air. Very negative: paper-thin walls. Absolutely no noise insulation. Could hear the guy next door on his phone until midnight. So annoying. Definitely not a 4 stars hotel. PS: Stayed there as a stranded traveler due to a train cancellation. DB has a deal with them. Not recommended.
F. L — Google review
This hotel may have been a 4-stars establishment back in the 90s, as the rooms are furnished according to those outdated standards. The amenities—especially for what claims to be a 4-stars hotel—are seriously lacking. The rooms appear far more worn and dated than in the pictures, and in reality, the hotel should be classified as a 3 stars at best. Unfortunately, the lounge is also extremely outdated. A complete renovation is necessary to maintain a genuine 4-star classification. The location is indeed good, and the room was reasonably clean (though that should be a given). I do not recommend Unger as a 4 starts hotel.
Daniel V — Google review
Bad internet with cellular data, paper thin walls and no complimentary WI-FI! They charge 10€ for Wi-Fi per day which is ridiculus and outdated! People want to make online check-in and check flights or trains and Wi-Fi today is a basic amenity! That needs to be improved!
Die P — Google review
You can do better. Everything from the bed to the pillow to the bathroom to the AC is done as cheaply as possible, and it shows. The provided pillow and mattress is so uncomfortable that they offer more options at the front desk; of course, these are often unavailable since they have so few. The bathrooms have 2-in-1 shampoo/soap and that's all, and they feel like a public toilet. It was upwards of 18°C during the day (Mid April) but the AC was not turned on for the building and you can't even run the fan in the room; as a result, the rooms are sweltering hot at night. You can keep the windows open to cool it off- but it is excessively loud outside due to the hotel's location, with drag racing and shouting outside the windows at 1-2 in the morning even on weekdays. There are enough hotels around Stuttgart HBF that you shouldn't have to compromise on EVERY aspect of your stay- look somewhere else.
Xauen Z — Google review
I stayed at this so-called 4-star hotel, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its rating at all. The room was in poor condition — the furniture was extremely old and worn out, and there was visible mold in several areas, including the bathroom. The place felt unclean and poorly maintained, far from what you’d expect from a 4-star establishment. The overall atmosphere was outdated and neglected. Even though the staff were polite, that couldn’t make up for the uncomfortable and unhealthy environment. I honestly think this hotel needs a full renovation and a deep cleaning before charging guests the prices it does. Would not recommend staying here until they address these issues.
Lipovan C — Google review
Language discrimination and racism for the non-German speaker from the recipient. Due to the train serious delay and we arrived at midnight. We just kindly ask whether still rooms for couple. The recipient became very impatient and rude say “No! Get out!”. Very low professional for the recipient.

The Weissenhof Estate, also known as Weissenhofsiedlung, is a significant housing development located near the Academy of Fine Art in the northern part of Stuttgart. Constructed in 1927 for an exhibition by the Werkbund, it features pioneering architectural designs by renowned international architects such as Le Corbusier and van der Rohe. The estate showcases functional geometric building designs with minimal ornamentation and innovative construction methods including steel frames and prefabricated elements.
Absolutely unmissable highlight of a visit to Stuttgart. This is an architectural marvel. When it was first constructed in the 1920s it was effectively a model village exhibiting the very best in modern architecture and modern living. There are houses by Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe which still look outstanding now. The central museum can provide a walking tour of the whole estate.

The Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart is a landmark of modern architecture, built in 1927 for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition under the direction of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Featuring designs by Le Corbusier, Gropius, and other pioneers, the estate showcased radical ideas of functional living with flat roofs, open floor plans, and minimalist facades. Today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an influential example of the International Style that shaped modern housing worldwide.

Located in the Hohenpark Killesberg, part of the interconnected Green U parks, Killesbergturm is an impressive observation tower offering panoramic views of Stuttgart city and surrounding parks. Originally built in 1950, it was replaced by a modern cone-shaped structure designed to blend naturally with its surroundings. The 40-meter cable-stayed tower features two sets of stairs in a double helix format leading to four platforms at different heights.
Can be a bit 'uncomfortable' during windy weather as you can feel how the construction reacts to it, but anyway it's safe and reliable.

I'm lucky enough to live in the area nearby, so the Killesberg Park is my family’s go-to spot—we visit occasionally throughout the year. It’s absolutely fantastic for kids! We always spend time by the miniature Killesberg Railway, and the small animal shelters are such a highlight; seeing the llamas, ponies, and goats never gets old. The whole park is beautifully maintained, especially in the summer when the flowers are in full bloom. For anyone up for it, the climb up the Killesberg Tower is totally worth it for the incredible city panorama. We grab a snack from one of the lovely little stalls afterward. It’s just a nice, easy place to walk, and the surrounding residential and shopping area is also very pleasant. A real asset to Stuttgart!

The Standseilbahn, also known as line 20, is a historic funicular railway in Stuttgart that has been in operation since 1929. It connects Sudheimerplatz in Heslach with the forest cemetery in Stuttgart-Degerloch. The teak cable cars have been preserved in their original condition and offer a nostalgic experience for visitors.
Visiting the Standseilbahn was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The ride itself was charming, and the area at the top of the hill had a quiet, peaceful beauty. The cemetery there was unlike any I’ve seen before—serene, full of character, and deeply moving. Walking through it became a reflective moment, a gentle reminder of the people I love and miss. It turned into more than just a tourist stop; it felt personal and meaningful in a quiet, unexpected way.

You always talk about "Fair Trade" but you are not fair towards your cutomers. One example, when paying on account, you pass the fee that the merchant charges the STORE, to the customer. All other shops do not charge their customers the fees they are liable to pay for a service they utilize. Payment fees are for the business, not the customer.

Wolfgang G — Google review
(Translated by Google) Partly paved, partly gravel. Very few portable toilets for an event with 45,000 people. Drink prices were outrageously high. S-Bahn connection, if it was running, was available. Only one stop was available directly at the venue; the rest were closed. Admission went smoothly. (Original) Teils gepflastert, teils Schotterplatz. Einlass gut gelaufen

(Translated by Google) Was closed, but there was nowhere else, had to walk 2km (Original) War gesperrt, stand aber nirgends sonst, musste 2km laufe
