Hotel
Splendor Hotel Taichung offers luxurious rooms and suites, featuring elegant decor and modern amenities. The hotel boasts three restaurants, an outdoor pool, and a spa for guests to unwind and indulge in relaxation. It is conveniently located on one of Taichung's busiest avenues, surrounded by numerous dining options and shopping venues. Additionally, the hotel staff can provide valuable tips for exploring nearby attractions such as the botanical garden, Taichung Science Museum, and Taichung Art Museum.
Had a great stay at the Splendor Hotel for a conference. The room was nice and breakfast buffet was exceptional! The staff was probably the most notable -- Bruce Yu at the front desk was most helpful when we had minor air conditioning issues in the bedroom of the suite. He had maintenance right on it and even offered a fan to spread the A/C from the main room. We really enjoyed are stay!

Excellent location. Professional but not personable service. Rooms are very dated showing heavy wear and tear, stains, chipped furniture. Bathroom shower had mold stains deeply embedded into the grout, silicon seal. It was likely clean but badly maintained. There are no outlets by the head of the bed. Felt like a hotel last remodeled or build pre-mobile devices. Breakfast buffet was excellent with many choices. It is a highlight for those who like lots of variety - the food quality is about average for typical Taiwan hotel breakfast.

We came back to Splendor Hotel Taichung again, stayed in the Family Deluxe Room, the room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We loved the comfortable beds and panoramic city views. We had room transferred during our stay, the lobby staffs and concierge staffs as friendly, professional, and attentive. They quickly and smoothly transferred our room and luggage, we praised them all. The hotel features a fitness center, swimming pool, and breakfast. We really enjoyed. The breakfast buffet was high marks for variety and quality. There was both Western and Asian selections, with fresh ingredients and good presentation. We definitely recommend to all families and businesses, we will come back in the future. 10/15-10/22/2025

8.4 “Good hotel to stay” Pros: - Breakfast is very good - Room is clean & spacious - Staff is helpful & friendly. The room next door was very noisy & we called the staff and the issue was resolved within 5 minutes - Good location - there are plenty of amenities nearby Cons: - The building is old but it’s well maintained - The corridor had musty smell probably because of the carpet
Wen W — Google review
This beautiful hotel offers great service and is located right in the city center, making it easy to access nearby shopping malls, banks, restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores. The included breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. The room was spacious, clean, and comfy. I particularly appreciated the strong and hot shower. One minor suggestion for improvement would be to provide more electrical outlets in the room. With the increasing number of electronic gadgets we all carry these days, having additional sockets would be very helpful.
Lee M — Google review
Great onsen spa and good breakfast, but pool and rooms very dated. May need a good amount of renovation to freshen up.
Fabian S — Google review
The location is great. The room has a view, but the interior is too old and the maintenance needs to be improved. The room looks clean but is not really clean, cleanliness also needs to be improved. The mattresses are so firm. Front desk ladies are very friendly and prompt to explain what to know about the room, even the parking lot how to access.
Yao R — Google review
Very nice hotel! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The gym was kind of small and free weights were limited but they had enough equipment to work out every muscle group. I loved the shower and bidet toilet; the bath was also big and comfortable. The mattress was very firm so I slept on half the comforter and used the other half to cover myself (kind of like a sleeping bag without the zipper). The view was beautiful and there are a lot of shops and parks nearby so there’s always something to do. I would love to stay here again :-)

Nestled in the vibrant city of Taichung, HUAN Serviced Residences offers a delightful blend of comfort and elegance. Guests can enjoy airy rooms and suites that come equipped with modern amenities such as a well-appointed kitchenette, flat-screen TV with streaming services, and soundproof walls for ultimate relaxation. The spacious accommodations feature private bathrooms complete with walk-in showers and luxurious bath options.
Awesome rooftop swim pool really gorgeous views, their hospitality was delightful very demure. They surly delivered services with integrity. Personally speaking I almost lost my camera on the rooftop distracted by the view so the camera was left on the counter table, I went to find my camera two weeks later unexpectedly and impressed it was found!!!❤️❤️❤️ Truly blessed, their brand represents honesty & trustworthiness. Respectfully of course.

Rooms are modern, luxurious and spacious. Breakfast is ok ish. Lack in some details by its own standard and sound proof is ok as you can hear people's conversation on the adjacent room, but overall it was good experience.
Chih-Hao L — Google review
After staying in the Huan for 2 years I can say it’s a great place. The staff are extremely cool and caring and have supported me and my family with many issues or requests here and there. The hotel itself is very nice in appearance and cleanliness from reception to restaurant and all other areas. Rooms and facilities are fab and occasionally they have parties for guests! All very well managed to provide a pleasant short or long term stay. Also, we experienced 2 big earthquakes here and the building merely had a bit of a wobble so that added greatly to our feeling of security within our apartment.

This is an awesome place and I've enjoyed all 12 weeks that I've spent here in 2025 love the vibe and awesome service 😀 😎 🙌
Danny R — Google review
Awesome place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is massive. They have kitchen, big bathroom and washing machine. The breakfast area has variety of food. Everyday different menu but they repeat the same menu weekly. The location is a posh area so food prices around the area is a Lil pricey. Sometimes can be noisy especially when you have a popular KTV right opposite the club. The famous Alta club is located right next to this place (For the party goers)

A hidden gem in Taichung!! Beautifully maintained building and impeccable service. Included breakfast includes a really good tangy yogurt and fresh passionfruit alongside great Western and Taiwanese options.
Summer S — Google review
Extremely dismayed by the front desk's handling of the situation, I brought my 5-month-old here for a vaccination. As I parked in the designated spot for parents with children under 6, I received a sternly-worded letter for not having a permit. While I understand the policy, it's baffling how other cars parked in the nearby "disabled parking" without permits went unnoticed. Is this prejudice? I can't say, but the front desk's relentless explanation of "you don't have a permit" fails to address the blatant inconsistency with other vehicles parked there without permits.
Wen T — Google review
I have a job where I travel around the world, tried many many hotels, I normally don’t care to leave reviews but this Hotel… If you want to be able to sleep in the night don’t stay here, the wall between you and the neighbours are particularly nonexistent: I can them walk, talk, see TV, snore, and so on, Basically everything. The service is good, the staff are friendly, the food is decent.

The spacious quadruple rooms are designed for comfort, featuring modern amenities such as air conditioning, soundproof walls, and stunning city views.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were warm, attentive, and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was perfect—convenient to local attractions, restaurants, and transportation. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches and attention to detail throughout the property. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience!
Christ F — Google review
Rooms are great, clean and comfortable. I do wish lotion was included with the hand wash, body wash and shampoo. The robes were tiny, definitely not for a more typical Western body size. The breakfast was consistently good with a small selection. I found the sweetened fruit juices too sugary for my taste. Good coffee. When I first stayed there, the coffee, tea and snack amenities were refreshed each day and included sugar and stir sticks. Subsequent visits did not. The price is quite reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful. The bathroom mirrors have fun messaging and the bed headboards have great little reading lights. The vein matching on the tiles throughout the hotel are well done. The showers are great! Some rooms have nice city views. Unfortunately I didn’t have time for a tub soak or pool time. Maybe next time. Laundry service or laundromat are close by.
Donnelleigh M — Google review
I had a pleasant experience at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean and the service is top notch. I booked a taxi for an early morning flight with the front desk with no issues. Also, I forgot some clothes and the hotel was very gracious in assisting me in shipping my clothes back to my home. Would recommend! Next to a night market as well. I think only downside was a bit far from subway or bus stations, but if you have a car or rented a scooter will have no issues traveling.
Leslie O — Google review
We were treated with excellent staff and service. We left sunglasses in a taxi and the receptionist helped us to locate and then pick them up from the police station. They were super helpful even though we had some language barriers :-) The rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurant staff was amazing.
Karen A — Google review
Great furnitures The furnitures are really nice Very sick room! Feel kinda great The break fast isn’t that nice than I expected. Desert should be more with the varieties I should’ve explored the hotels more,,, Didn’t visit the gym and pool
Junsei G — Google review
Nice rooms and a good price if you're getting the weekday special. Front desk staff were professional, but the cleaning staff came into our room even though the do not disturb light was on. The buffet staff was hiding behind the bar, eating breakfast. Fine. But, it was not clear where we should go and seemed quite unprofessional.
James D — Google review
Great place would definitely return. Only complaint - the lifts/ elevators are terrible. Three different ones with three different buttons. They need a software / system upgrade that syncs for certain floors if you press a button e.g. if you are on level 6 and press down, all 3 should sync and first one should come. Otherwise if you press one button, you wait for THAT lift. If you press all 3, after the first one comes the next two will also come, slowing down for everyone else.
N — Google review
Spacious rooms, decent breakfast, and nice pool. Unfortunately, from a western tourist point of view, nobody speaks decent English, which complicates all communication.

SOF Hotel - 植光花園酒店 is an elegant accommodation with sophisticated rooms, a restaurant, and a beautiful garden. The hotel boasts impressive architecture and design that creates different vibes during the day and night. The rooms are cozy with thick blinds to block out sunlight, making it easy to lose track of time. Guests can enjoy exquisite room designs and amenities such as hot toilet bowls and pleasantly scented shampoo.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at SOF Hotel in Taichung! The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. From the warm greetings at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, their kindness and professionalism truly stood out. The rooms were spotless & the amenities were fantastic, and the overall experience was great. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Dom — Google review
Got a great deal so the price was much cheaper than Taipei and much better stay. They even have discounts (we chose to upgrade to a larger room, or you can choose a free cocktail/ stay longer). Every time I passed the door to the inside I felt comfortable and relaxed. Great space design and the staffs were also very welcome and helpful.
Le M — Google review
Great place to stay in Taichung. Very accessible to train and buses. The interior design concept of the exposed concrete and open air plants in the lobby is beautiful. The room layout also is cozy and modern. Service was excellent and provided amenities. There’s even a water dispenser on each floor for hot and room temperature water so I didn’t have to go out to buy water at night. Honestly this hotel has a better room than a 4 star hotel in Taipei for a much lower cost.
Samuel T — Google review
Very disappointing – a nice design at the expense of everything else We booked a large double room with a double bed, but were given a room with two small beds. Nothing is thought through for comfort: dirty room (hairs, tape on the walls – photos provided), no power outlet in the bathroom, nowhere to hang towels, single glazing. No coffee, no tea, no water bottle in the room. After reading other reviews, it’s clear that these issues are recurring and nothing is being done to improve them. The hotel focuses more on appearance than the guest experience. Avoid.
Romain 3 — Google review
The artitectural choice is crazy. The fassad is left in despair outside but the internals are all made up. Quite the sight once you arrive. The positive impressions continue at the reception. We had Sandy checkin us in, having the best conversation and mood. Srsly can recommend.

Nice Location, take the bus from here to get around the city otherwise you will walk a lot. The room/hotel is super stylish and the staff super friendly. 10/10

Our room is located at 2nd floor, beside is a parking lot. We appreciate the unique architectural design of the entire hotel. BUT, it’s too NOISY. INSIDE you can hear the water flowing in the plumbing. OUTSIDE is the sound of the car when parking and people when theyre talking. And a loud construction sound I guess its nearby the hotel.

Nestled in the vibrant Xitun District of Taichung City, The Hung's Mansion is a modern hotel that perfectly blends luxury with convenience. Guests can enjoy air-conditioned accommodations featuring two double beds, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms that boast ample space.
Very good hotel, for the price makes it great. Service was minimal but good always greeted when walking in, rooms are very spacious, stayed in a superior double room and it was massive 53m2, separate living and sleeping space. It’s a little dated, aircon a bit noisy, included breakfast was very average, but still a decent stay.
Dennis — Google review
We’ve stayed in this hotel a few times already and figured it was decent value for the money giving the great location, spacious rooms for the price and decent service. However this time it was absolutely unacceptable and we can’t recommend to anyone, especially with kids, to stay at this hotel due to a complete lack of empathy, professionalism and service! First thing when we arrived and asked if standard things are provided in the room: so far we were always provided tooth brush etc. and haven’t been notified of any change so we assumed it’s the same. There was a change and that’s not part anymore however you can ask for it once at the reception. We understand the change and it would have been easy to explain it to us, how ever the lady at the reception chose to ask us in a disrespectful tone after we’ve asked if they can provide it as we need it “you didn’t bring those things?”. What a question if someone already asked for it. Then when we’ve arrived with our two small kids in the room and 5 minutes later , we didn’t even had the chance to check the whole room or to make ourselves comfortable, the reception called us that another guest complained about us being too loud. I repeat : we didn’t even had the chance to walk around in the room or the kids to play etc. we just arrived ! So that was pretty bad. Last but not least, when we went to bed one of our kids cried for a while and couldn’t sleep in. The staff first called , then knocked on the door when we finally managed to get her to sleep in and woke her up; just to tell us again that other guests complained! Again the attitude was completely unacceptable and unreasonable. We just stayed one night and won’t come back. We were very disappointed and the service was unacceptable for a hotel for this price. Can’t recommend it and especially for families I would strongly advice to not waste your time, money and energy here!
Johannes90 L — Google review
I haven’t had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, however I have received amazing service from staff here - that made my day. My partner is from Taichung and we finally returned home after 5 years. My international roaming failed to work. We were tired after many hours travel, plane and bus and then when trying to grab a taxi to my partners parent place - we had no luck. The amazing team here firstly let us use the toilet when we clearly weren’t staying here. On top of that they went out of their way to call a taxi for us so we could finally make our way home. Everyone staying at The Hung’s Mansion appeared very happy, based on their level of service I believe everyone would be happy staying there. Thank you for your assistance and for making the final and shortest part of our journey a lot easier :)

My favourite hotel in Taichung! Same cleanliness and sophistication 14 years apart! Comfortable bed, perfect noise isolation, premium bathroom items. Location right off highway, close to shopping malls (walking distance). Service not as good as before though. No help rendered to move heavy luggage through uneven surface. Bellman was more focus on collecting food from biker than helping guests to board Uber car.
Poh L — Google review
The room is really top notch with comfortable beds and slippers. My family enjoy the room a lot. I want to say a big thank you to the chambermaid who acceded to our frequent requests within 2 hours with lots of patience. Breakfast buffet is quite ample too. Will want to stay again if ever come to Tai Chung.

Underrated hotel in Taichung. Really enjoyed our stay here. They are very professional and the rooms are very nice. We stayed in the executive suite and loved the large living room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. After checking in, one of the staff escorted us to the elevator. Was very impressed with this small but kind gesture. They provide free parking, but note that you will need to ask the staff for a token when leaving. We didn’t know this, but the staff was kind enough to rush down to the garage to help us leave.
Daniel S — Google review
Location is goods. Room is clean and spacious. The bed is just on point. Not too soft or too thick and the size is big! We love the breakfast, too. Tasty with a variety. Strongly recommend for tourists who wants a chill stay at Taichung!

This is a lovely hotel that we keep returning to. It's got lots of books and places to hang out, but is also, airy, open, and aesthetically pleasing. A lot of care has gone into sound management, and it feels quiet even when the lobby or seating areas are quite busy.

THE LIN is a modern hotel located in the heart of Taichung's business district, offering stylish 5-star accommodation. The hotel features two restaurants, a chic bar, an outdoor pool, and a spa area. It is conveniently situated within close proximity to popular attractions such as Fengjia Night Market, National Taichung Theater, Maple Garden, and Tiger City. Guests can enjoy free parking and WiFi access during their stay.
Absolutely lovely stay at this hotel. We’ll definitely be back. The rooms are clean, spacious and luxurious. I adored the bathtub and separate rain shower! The view is gorgeous and the little touches made such a difference (like they had stocked the fridge with a coke can with my name on it! 🤩). Good service and everyone spoke Chinese and English very well. The fitness center is small but very nice, with towels and water available, and high-end machines. Adored spending time by the pool and the breakfast buffet was 🤤 out of this world. Can’t wait to go back.
Julia R — Google review
Worst Hotel in Taiwan for Business Travelers June 2025 I only take time to share the best and the worst. I tried this hotel because of its proximity to our international branch office located in Taichung NTC (National Trade Center), which is right next to this hotel. Over the past twenty plus years of business travel to Taiwan, LIN is undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever experienced. It is simply not a hotel for business travelers for the following reasons: 1. No USB port to charge the iPhone. This hotel stays in the last century still. 2. Even in the top-notch corner executive suite (#2124), the internet is unbearably slow, making it impossible to work. 3. The executive lounge is important for business travelers to wind down after a long day of work. Unlike many popular loyalty programs such as Marriott Bonvoy and IHG One Rewards, the executive lounge at LINS is simply a joke: a. Who in the right mind would put happy hour from 3-5PM, purposely putting business travelers out of reach?! b. The executive lounge on the top floor is not open most of the time. Instead, the bar on the 1st floor is used. The bar is nowhere near the comfort of the executive lounge. Worst of all, the food is controlled by the bar attender. One has to literally beg for some lousy finger sandwiches and bowl of salad. The main course for happy hour is usually one cheap dish like fried noodle. 4. It is important for business travelers to have the flexibility to change the schedule whenever needed. Over the past twenty plus years traveling in Taiwan, I have never had problem checking out earlier when business emergency calls for. However, I was not allowed to check out earlier w/o full payment, even when I gave plenty of advance notice. They simply ignore the difference between deposit and final payment and charge full payment upfront, thereby keeping guess hostage with money. Both my travel agent and Corporate travel director got involved, but in vain. We ended up checking out earlier with full payment, but blocking this hotel from our Corporate travel list going forward. In general, this hotel is all about profit, without regard to international business practice and standard. The front desk staff are simply rude as they have to defend un-defendable frequently. The breakfast buffet is chaotic, just like hungry peasants fighting for large selections of cheap food. It is not a hotel of class where guess will be treated with decency. It is a total embarrassment to the city and great people of Taichung. Dr. Z

The Lin Hotel in Taichung truly deserves its reputation as one of the city’s most prestigious five-star accommodations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the grand and elegant architecture that immediately conveyed a sense of luxury. The hotel’s expansive grounds are beautifully designed, offering not only a spacious outdoor pool but also a charming green garden area, which is an ideal setting for weddings or outdoor events. The atmosphere is both serene and majestic, making every moment feel special. The staff were extremely professional and attentive, always ready to provide warm and efficient service. My room was remarkably spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The soft carpeted floor added a cozy touch, making it especially pleasant to walk barefoot. Although my room did not include a balcony, the full-length glass windows provided a stunning view of the city, bringing in natural light that created a bright and welcoming environment. The bathroom was equally impressive, equipped with modern fixtures and high-quality amenities that enhanced the overall experience. Every detail reflected the hotel’s commitment to luxury and guest satisfaction. Another highlight of my experience was the breakfast area, decorated in vibrant green tones that created a fresh and welcoming ambiance. The buffet selection was outstanding, with a wide range of choices from Asian specialties to Western favorites, ensuring that every guest could find something to enjoy. Overall, my stay at The Lin Hotel was nothing short of delightful. With its magnificent setting, excellent facilities, and top-tier service, I can confidently say that I was more than satisfied and will definitely return in the future.

The rooms are big and comfortable for a solo/family traveller. A huge work desk and lots of space. However one issue that I see is that the toilet and bathroom doors have a glass door and so only one person or intimate ones can use it at a time. One can't go for a bath while the other is brushing. The breakfast buffet was big and had a good spread. You can easily spend a week here without getting bored. But it is the same items in the buffet everyday. The in-house TV can be better. It only has screen mirroring capability, and using phone and TV together is a pain. Being a smart tv id all standard apps like Youtube, Netflix are installed, we can cast to those applications, rather than mirroring screens. The rooms were cleaned everyday perfectly and condiments refilled regularly. The location is also perfect with access to shops and all utilities.

This is an absolutely stunning 5-star hotel that will give you resort vibes even though it is in downtown Taichung. The staff were above & beyond helpful. The facilities are breathtaking & the breakfast was on another level. 🫶🏻✨

We had to extend our stay last minute due to severe rain and flood risks, and the Front Desk team — especially Ms. Rebecca Chi and Mr. Jerry Huang - provided exceptional support. They were professional, patient, and proactive in helping us secure rooms during a busy national holiday period, offering the best rates and timely updates despite our changing situation. Their care and empathy, especially knowing we were travelling with my elderly mum, truly made a stressful situation so much easier. Thank you for the outstanding service — highly recommended, and we will definitely return!

Good rooms & amenities, large water bottles coffee tea complete with soft drinks and alcohol complimented, really no time to enjoy their Sky Bar but surely will return awesome hotel like it looking for next family trips.

Overall it’s an over priced hotel in Taichung! I stayed 6 nights with breakfast. The room I had was a suite, the size was ok. Over the 6 nights, they only had charges 1 bed sheets, I called a couple of times for extra toilet paper. They’re rated for a 5 star hotel but it’s more like a Holiday inn 4 stars suite in US. Their breakfast restaurant was big, including 5-10 styles dim sums, porridge with 5-10 pickle dishes, salad bar, fruit bar n desert bar, egg bacon section and some Taiwanese cold plates on the back, every section usually had a staff with chef dress behind. A buffet style breakfast but most of the time it’s empty n not reloaded, chefs were either not there or busy on their phones. I had to stand n wait or ask for things. I personally don’t prefer this treat from a 5 star hotel especially the price they charge in Taichung . It’s out from my list from now on.

The Windsor Hotel is an upscale accommodation with comfortable rooms and suites, as well as a bakery, ballroom, and multiple dining options. It's conveniently located near Feng Chia Night Market. This five-star hotel has been praised for its exceptional facilities and services, offering great value for the price. Guests have appreciated the spacious and clean rooms, extensive breakfast choices, and convenient location.
Very nice hotel. Even It has been opened for years. The staffs in check-in counter are all very friendly and always ready to help. The room is perfectly clean including the carpet. Really enjoy the stay here.

We stayed here for five days and had a good experience. The gym, sauna and pool are really good and comfortable. The breakfast has so many options it’s great, we had it three out of five days we were there. The gym is big and has everything you need. (Gym staff well the lady we met she could have been a bit more friendly.) The people who cleaned our room were amazing and deserve a raise for the great work they did. One big negative is the min purchase in the cafe I just wanted to sit there and have a coffee but had to buy more than a coffee to sit there, not sure this is fair when you are already staying at the hotel. Parking is good, can be busy and some of the spaces are quite tight, but overall never really struggled to get a car space. The hotel gave us a small Christmas card and gift which was a lovely touch. Water taps, available just outside the room which was also great. Location wise it’s great and easy to get around.

The Windsor Hotel Taichung delivers a satisfying experience thanks to its exceptional service team. The front desk and concierge staff are the true standouts, consistently going above and beyond with their professional and attentive assistance to guests. Their dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay helps compensate for the hotel's dated aspects. While the rooms show their age with older furnishings that could use updating, they remain comfortable. The highlight is the breathtaking view of Taichung from the upper floors, though the experience would be enhanced by more thorough exterior window cleaning. Despite these minor shortcomings, the Windsor's prime location and outstanding service make it a worthwhile choice for travelers. The staff's commitment to guest satisfaction helps overcome the property's dated elements, creating an experience that still offers good value. Recommended for those who prioritize excellent service over modern amenities.

The location wasn’t so convenient if you travel by train ( THSR & rail). I had buffet lunch here, didn’t stay over. The service was good, the buffet was plentiful, and wild options. However I found the arrangements of the seats were a bit too crowded.

I only visited for the breakfast buffet, we didn’t stay in the hotel. There are some nice dishes such as the beef soup, but other than that, it was mediocre. They have the basic things you would have in a hotel breakfast buffet. But there were no fresh made dishes or anything astonishing. There are a good choice of breads but didn’t seem like they were fresh.. some were bit old and hard. It is ok if you stay in the hotel and have the complimentary breakfast, but to pay full price I wouldn’t say it’s worth the cost. Staff was nice and polite. There is also free parking

Le Méridien Taichung has established itself as a top-notch property, offering spacious and well-appointed rooms that are over 60 square meters in size. Despite initial skepticism from online reviews, guests have found it to be one of the best hotels they've ever stayed in, praising its service, room cleanliness, and breakfast offerings. The hotel's modern and beautiful exterior is matched by its superb interior, with a mix of American and Chinese style breakfast available in the mornings.
The hotel’s sleek curved glass tower made an impression. Located in the heart of the city, the building’s architecture was both modern and commanding. The room I stayed in offered a seamless blend of elegance and comfort. The living space featured rich wooden flooring, an expansive curved sofa, and contemporary lighting accents. Floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the room with natural light and opened up to a sweeping city view, bringing the outside skyline into the refined interior. The bedroom was equally impressive — a luxurious bed framed by stylish furniture, and again, the stunning view continued. The attention to detail in materials and layout created a restful, high-end atmosphere. A large circular rug beneath the bed tied the space together with artistic flair. The walk-in closet which was spacious, clean-lined, and practical, offered a boutique-like dressing experience. The bathroom was on par with luxury resort standards: marble surfaces, double sinks, a freestanding soaking tub, a separate shower with rain and hand heads, and two toilets — one of them in a private powder room. The use of light, texture, and materials made it feel indulgent yet functional. They delivered a premium urban experience that’s both polished and deeply comfortable😍

Loved this 5 star hotel in Taichung, Taiwan. Breakfast area was large with a lot of food to choose from. Had room service one night out of the 7 nights I stayed there and it was very good too. Stayed while on business trip. Would also stay here if I was on vacation. Hotel located in the city center of Taichung.

Marriott hotel chains are known for modern design. Breakfast buffet is a great way to start a whole new day. Mix of international and local Taiwanese dishes, providing a unique culinary experience.

If you arrive in Taichung by rail (the regular service not the high speed train) it's impossible to miss the hotel, it's modern and the tallest building in any direction, and about a 5 minute walk. It's nearby to Miyahara, the railway museum, and several other sights. Trendy and bright - you feel special the moment you enter the lobby. Take a moment to enjoy the shapes and colors of the lobby furniture design... Thoughtful and interesting. The room design was similar, nice colors into the couch, pillows, carpets. Plenty of space with a comfortable mattress, it's easy to enjoy time in the room. The executive lounge is nice with friendly staff, and Latest Recipe restaurant has a massive breakfast buffet, not to be missed! If I was in taichung I would enjoy another night or two at Le Meridien.

Finally booked in at midnight after struggling with my booking. Front desk staff was very accomodating and patient. The lovely lady who helped me...and I am sorry to say that I forgot her name, not only made me feel at ease but also showed that kindness always wins the day AND restored my faith that Unity Consciousness rules. I was worn out, but couldn't resist the bath....letting the water and beautiful surroundings melt away my worries. I woke up to a view of the sun coming up and the train station in the forefront. Was definitely worth the struggle to get the booking. I didn't get to enjoy anything the hotel offers this time, but I am always hopeful for a next time.

When in Taiwan for business travel, I try to stay at Le Meridien Taichung as much as possible if I can get out of Taipei area. The rooms are elegantly and sophisticated in style. Service is A++ (Anna in the executive lounge), Amber Chang front desk manager, etc. I asked for a free status upgrade and voila look at the video attached! Amenities: the view from fitness center on 23F adds to the workout and the sauna/steam room isn’t as crowded as in some luxury hotels in Taipei. Rooftop pool on 24F has great sundeck for tanning. Executive lounge happy hour food and drinks are also a level above. Being a titanium or ambassador Marriott elite member I stay in hotels more than 150 days a year. This Le Meridien in Taichung, Taiwan is one of the best hotels especially for the value and service! If you take the high speed rail, connect to Taiwan rail instead of MRT to save some time.

From the moment we arrived, Le Méridien Taichung impressed us with its warm hospitality and impeccable service. As we stepped out of our car, the staff immediately approached to assist with our luggage — a small gesture, but one that speaks volumes about their attentiveness and professionalism. The lobby exudes a cozy and welcoming ambiance, beautifully decorated with warm tones and elegant touches. After a long day of travel, it felt like stepping into a haven of calm and comfort. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making the check-in process smooth and pleasant. They truly made us feel right at home. Now onto the room — absolutely stunning! It’s spacious, thoughtfully designed, and exceptionally comfortable. The use of lighting and color palette throughout the room is masterful — bright and energizing in areas where you need it, while dim and calming where relaxation is key. The bed was perfectly firm and supportive, and we were treated to a gorgeous city view right from our window. The bathroom setup is equally impressive. The bathtub is deep and luxurious, perfect for a long, soothing soak. The shower and toilet areas are thoughtfully separated, allowing for both functionality and privacy — a feature we greatly appreciated. Fitness lovers will be thrilled with the 24/7 gym located on the 23rd floor. This is not your average hotel gym — it’s more like a full-fledged boutique fitness center, complete with a wide range of cardio machines, free weights, and strength-training equipment. Easily one of the best hotel gyms we’ve encountered, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a panoramic view while you work out. The rooftop pool is another highlight. While not huge, it’s perfect for a refreshing dip and offers a serene space to unwind while taking in the skyline. Location-wise, Le Méridien Taichung couldn’t be more convenient. It’s directly across from a train station, with the high-speed rail station just a 15-minute drive away. You’ll also find two of Taichung’s most popular night markets just 4km away, making evening food adventures a breeze. Plus, a convenience store is just steps from the entrance. In summary, Le Méridien Taichung delivers on every front — comfort, service, amenities, and location. Whether you're here for business or leisure, it offers a premium stay that truly elevates your travel experience. We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Taichung.

I stayed at this hotel with my family for a short trip in May, booking three rooms across two reservations. Unfortunately, this was one of the most distressing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived slightly early for check-in (around 3:15 PM) and were told to wait until 4 PM, which was fine. However, the rooms weren’t ready even by 4:30 PM. Only after repeated follow-ups were we offered a spot in the lounge while waiting — and we finally got into our rooms closer to 5 PM. The delay caused significant discomfort for my sister, who needed to pump breast milk. When she asked if there was a room she could use, she was told to use the wheelchair-accessible toilet — a completely unhygienic and unsuitable environment for something so personal. She ended up having to pump in the hotel lobby using a cover. Shockingly, the hotel only offered her a spare room after she was done. If this had been provided earlier, it would’ve saved her the embarrassment and discomfort. But what followed was much worse. After the first night, I woke up with extremely itchy bites. At first, I assumed they were mosquito bites and brushed it off. Later that day, my family saw the marks and immediately suspected bed bugs. I returned to the hotel in the evening to report the issue. The staff took photos of the bites and offered a room change along with complimentary breakfast. I requested a refund for my second night since I could have just stayed with my relatives, but they told me it wasn’t possible as I had booked through a third-party site — even though payment was only made at check-out. That same booking site has since clarified that refunds are entirely up to the hotel, so this excuse felt dismissive. Even more concerning, my sister and brother-in-law, who were staying in a different room on a different floor, also experienced bites and later found a live bug in their bed. The hotel staff collected it. We did not visit each other’s rooms at all during the stay, and the access cards were floor-restricted, confirming that this was not an isolated incident. After returning home, they found two more bugs in their luggage, which proves that we likely brought the infestation back with us. Even my elderly grandmother, who was on the trip, has since started showing signs of bites. This has created massive stress and concern for our household, especially with young children involved. When I raised the concern about potentially contaminated laundry — freshly washed clothes I had left on the bed — the hotel only offered help after I became visibly upset. They agreed to wash the items for free and return them before check-out, provided I handed them over by 9 PM (which I did). But it’s alarming that this wasn’t offered from the beginning when I first reported bed bugs. Now, more than a week later, my condition has worsened. I’ve seen a doctor who confirmed that I’m at risk of infection due to the bites and have been placed on medical leave. My legs are in terrible shape, and the entire experience has caused significant physical and emotional distress. This review isn’t just about a bad hotel stay — it’s about poor hygiene, subpar handling of a serious issue, and a lack of genuine accountability. I sincerely hope this prompts the hotel to investigate and resolve its pest control problems properly. No one should have to go through what we did. Update: I sent a formal complaint email to the hotel and the initial response was simply courteous but not addressing the issues. In fact, one of the service recovery listed was “promptly assisted with laundry” — which was not true at all. The recep initially told me laundry would only be returned next day 2-3pm but I’m checking out the next day at 12 and have my own travel plan. The recep only provided laundry service and return before 12pm next day AFTER I showed visible distress and panic at the situation. I’ve mentioned and reiterate this pointer (amongst others) and they only simply replied almost the exact same things as the first just with some rephrasing such as “arranging laundry support”.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Taichung, 嬉·行旅 Hotel Si offers a delightful retreat for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. The hotel features an inviting garden, a cozy shared lounge, and a charming terrace where guests can unwind. Each air-conditioned quadruple room is equipped with modern amenities like a flat-screen TV with streaming services and a private bathroom. While some rooms boast lovely city views from their patios, others provide serene street vistas.
I booked this hotel online for a 2-day excursion/business trip. In terms of the staff, I found them to be very friendly and helpful. They were able and willing to communicate with me well in mandarin, and provided a lot of details as to the ordering of breakfast and the amenities in the rooms. Frankly speaking, I can only get four stars to the rooms on account of the fact that the television does not offer the regular services that one would expect. They use an internet service that requires you to log in or to have an account with certain providers, such as Netflix. I have been looking forward to watching regular television, and was a bit disappointed at this point. However, this may be due to the fact that I am an older person 😂. I did not have the chance to have breakfast, although I was here for 2 days, due to my busy schedule. However, the staff informed me that they were able to prepare my breakfast in advance and even to allow me to bring it up to my room to eat. The bed was very comfortable, and the environment was generally very clean and appropriate to my taste. Although there's not a lot of entertainment in this area, I was able to find one very outstanding restaurant, a place for a full body and foot massage, and convenience stores within a few minutes. This was a business trip, the location was elected to be close to where I was about to get my speech. Moreover, I was able to visit other businesses nearby that I was interested in. For me, this location is quite convenient. You are provided with coupons for drinks when entering the hotel. As I did not use up my coupons, when I was checking out the staff offered me some free beverages from the fridge at the front. I thought this was quite thoughtful! One very interesting option that is offered here, which was unexpected, is room which has a microwave, sink, and amenities that would allow you to prepare your own food. My one complaint was that there were several noisy neighbors. However, they did tend to be a bit quieter after 11:00 p.m. I did not complain to the staff, however I would consider that if I did not have earplugs, I may have had a bit of difficulty sleeping if I wanted to go to bed early.

Room is tiny but very functional. The hotel is located in a cute neighborhood full of restaurants and bars. It’s also only a 10 min walk to eslite bookstore/mall. Love the greenery throughout the hotel and its quietness. Will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to escape the city life but still need the convenience of it all.
Vivian E — Google review
The lobby is cozy and has plenty of plants. People at the front desk are friendly. The space of the room is just like it describes on the website so no surprise here. However, the shower room is not separated from the bathroom (沒有亁濕分離), that means the entire bathroom will be wet after shower. Dislike. The lights in the room are a bit too dark for me. The sound proofing isn’t great as I can hear someone next door snored, people talking in the hallway (and it was 2:30 am already..), and cars on the street. So if you prefer a VERY quiet room, you need to have earplugs just like I did. Maybe that’s why they prepare this in the room. Last but not least, beer is good though 👍🍺

Very clean hotel, I was surprised the room looked as good as the pictures! The location is great as most activities are around. Super good value, would go again 👍
Colin M — Google review
Treat the guests with greetings okay, there can not be expectation in the room, even the TV must be a personal account can be turned on to watch such as the channels on Netflix, Disney….. no live TV to watch.. Breakfast is very very simple (small portion for 2) after eating, it is equivalent to not having eaten, only ordinary coffee, that is, ground coffee is needed to pay. The normal hotel room should have sound insulation, but this stay was shocked at the late night, hearing the laughter of the isolation room on the left and right, it is really be happy for them …… but you are hardly to sleep!! Finally, the toilet is in the room but it is separated at the outside balcony without air conditioning. This stay would absolutely never be forgotten, the surrounding environment from this boutique hotel is very close to the residence house, so there is a sense of intimacy between us with very limited car parks (5-6) haha!

Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout their stay, along with a range of amenities including a fitness center, indoor pool, and separate saunas for men and women.
Literally the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Taiwan out of the multiple times I’ve traveled around the country. Staff from doorman to the front desk went above and beyond to make my stay amazing. I was traveling to get married and had my family and guests stay here. Everyone agreed that the hotel had great service that they were surprised and never seen a hotel staff come literally running to their room just to provide an extra towel they had requested. Although the hotel is a little older, everything was clean, spacious, and the restaurant on the second floor actually had really good Taiwanese food. I got to try many dishes I’ve never seen or heard of from the Bay Area in the US. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m back in Taiwan.

The hotel staff were great and had no issues with the rooms. The rooms were quite spacious and many great amenities in the room. Great stay itself but not the breakfast. I was quite disappointed with the lack of friendly customer service at the breakfast area of the hotel. The staff had an unprofessional attitude and quite rude when people ask questions or ask very basic requests like they didn’t want to be bothered. I never encountered this before at a hotel (especially wouldn’t expect it at a highly rated hotel too). I hope the team looks into this, as this really sets a bad impression on the hotel despite the hotel rooms/stay itself being a comfortable experience.

The breakfast was mediocre, which was a bit disappointing for a 4-star hotel—I expected a better buffet. The room was clean but somewhat outdated. None of us slept well, and the beds definitely need an upgrade. They also didn’t provide any toiletries, which can be inconvenient for foreign tourists. The only upside was the location. Given the price range, I’ll likely choose a different hotel next time I visit Taichung.

Stayed here for four days on a business trip with my family. Most of the staff were helpful and attentive, which is commendable. However, I still want to reflect couple issues with our four-person family room, room "816". First, there were unexplained plumbing noises both at night and during the day. Second, the bathroom ventilation system wasn't working. When I reported it to the front desk, they did only suggest me to bring a dehumidifier to bathroom rather than check the problem. Finally, even the hair dryer wasn't working; it didn't produce hot air. Fortunately, a different room solved most of the issues!

I could almost have my elbow touch the next table. - Service…umm…lots of staff standing on the reception desk, but no one shows warm welcome.

It was just a quick over night trip visiting families and a twenty people family lunch at the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. We checked in at 3pm, the rooms were ready for us on the 6th floor but due to my limited mobility I requested a room on the lower floor incase of evacuation. The staff was very helpful and friendly found me an accessible room on the third floor. I was very grateful for that. We proceed to change our next day lunch reservation for the family gathering. Initially we spoke to a gentleman on the phone who refused to tell us his name and told us that the availability was all he had and that was all. We went to the restaurant and spoke to Gloria Kuo, she gave us options either that or a room which could accommodate 20 people. She was friendly and would work with us to accommodate the changes. She had changed our perception of the restaurant. Room: a little outdated but still comfortable. Recommend to have two pillows per bed as to one pillow. Also, complimentary water bottles would be great addition after come in from the hot weather. Chinese restaurant: service was great and attentive. The reserved room had its own washroom. That was a good bonus for elderlies for sure. Overall, we had a great family get together without going elsewhere. All outside families came to the restaurant they also got complimentary parking passes. Thank you.

Stayed here to visit family and also access a pool. This is a very family friendly hotel with table tennis and squash courts in addition to a great pool with waterfall massages. Compared to Caesar Taipei I really appreciated the fresh towels and very clean sheets. I really missed the Evergreen in Taichung. I even received a treat for my birthday out of the blue! I would only recommend they take out the carpet one day but I understand it is hard to soundproof. We also experienced the 7.2 earthquake and it was well managed. Highly recommend. We all slept well.

I would like to commend the team for the superb service during our recent stay. I'm touched by the kindness, understanding, and attentiveness demonstrated by your staff, particularly during a challenging time when my son was unwell. From the moment we required assistance, your team went above and beyond to ensure we were well cared for. Their promptness in arranging a cab for us to visit the doctor was greatly appreciated, as were the thoughtful gestures such as offering water, tissues, and plastic bags while we waited. Thank you for these small but meaningful acts of kindness When we needed to extend our stay at the last minute, the staff’s efforts to accommodate us despite the hotel being fully booked were extraordinary. They graciously offered us the last available room, a special-access room, at a special rate. This level of flexibility and empathy exemplifies the high standards of hospitality. I'm impressed with the consistent and genuine concern shown by your team throughout our stay. Each time we interacted with staff—be it at breakfast, the front desk, or during check-out—they expressed heartfelt concern for my son’s well-being. Their kind words and cheerful demeanor brightened his spirits. Please extend our sincere thanks to every member of your team who contributed to making our stay as comfortable as possible. Their dedication and care left a lasting impression on us, and we will remember this experience with great appreciation.

My stay at Hotel Howard has been absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. Breakfasts were delicious, offering a wide variety of fresh options and fantastic coffee to start the day right. The location is also ideal – close to the main attractions yet tucked away in a peaceful area. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Howard to anyone visiting – I can't wait to come back!

Excellent rooms, clean, spacious, good quality. Outstanding service. All staff were polite, friendly, very helpful. Great night city view from our room. Outstanding breakfast buffet included in the room charges. All kinds of fantastic foods, covering both western and Taiwanese styles. Incredible values! Great location! Lots of good restaurants nearby. Hotel helped us called taxis to go everywhere. Very convenient. The hotel itself is quiet, clean, comfortable. Our families are highly allergic to dusts and molds. This hotel was so clean that made our breathing so easily and comfortably. Great gym! Very good for workouts. We stayed at many hotels. This one is exceptionally good. This hotel has a covered front driveway for pickups/drop offs. It rained hard everyday here during our stay. It became very important that we could stay dry while getting in and out of the vehicles. The hotel lent us several umbrellas for us to go out in the rain. Very helpful and thoughtful.

The room and bathroom were both spacious and comfortable, very clean and well-maintained. The bed was also very comfortable, and there was even a sofa area in the room. Although it’s an older hotel, it’s clear that it has been renovated , the style is modern and refined. My family and I really liked it. The location is very convenient, with plenty of restaurants nearby.

Spend several days at the Howard Prince while visiting family and had an amazing stay from start to finish. From handling our reservations to helping plan a birthday dinner for my husband, everything was seamless and thoughtfully arranged. A big thank you to Camilo for his helpful tips and generous assistance with the language, he truly made our experience even more special.

Moxy Taichung is a stylish and contemporary hotel located in Taichung, Taiwan. The hotel offers laid-back rooms, a lobby bar, an exercise room, and a supercool rooftop bar on the 18th floor. It is conveniently situated in front of a large shopping mall and offers minimalist yet spacious rooms with quirky decorations and environmentally friendly features. Guests can enjoy various entertainment gadgets in the lobby, along with a good restaurant/bar for hanging out.
I’ve stayed at Moxy maybe five or six times, mostly because of its great transportation access and all the nice places nearby. It has such an impressive and unique style that I feel energized every time I’m there. As to the hotel design, the bold use of pink and black really makes the whole place special, creating a vibrant atmosphere across the interior design, promotional materials, and decorations. The staff are quite friendly, and I really enjoyed the complimentary sparkling water and the great 24-hour gym. Plus, they seem to have a live DJ show every Friday, which adds an extra fun vibe to the experience! The only downside is the limited parking. But honestly, I think they’ve tried their best and make up for it by offering compensation if you have to park elsewhere, which I really appreciate.
ZY C — Google review
Good location but limited parking. Hotel very modern & energetic style but the room too tiny. Overall, it is clean and comfortable. We ordered the grilled pork rice, and the rice was sticky n hard just like reheat or overnight rice just warmed by the microwave 😅, food served with light warmed not hot. The fried platter was ok. The food served on the 1st floor could be better and improve to be better.
Slgan — Google review
Moxy Taichung is a stylish and youthful hotel that delivers great value for money. I really appreciate its trendy visual design—from the bold colors to the fun neon signs, everything feels fresh, modern, and Instagram-worthy. The mobile key access is super convenient, and the gym is impressively equipped with proper weight training machines, which is a big plus for fitness lovers. I also enjoyed the nice city view and the cool rooftop bar with a fun vibe. While I love the playful branding, some of the on-site activities feel a bit underwhelming. For example, the recent bubble tea event wasn’t very interactive—guests had to strain the pearls themselves, and the drink choices didn’t quite pair well with the pearls. It felt more like a task than something fun. I’d love to see more creative, engaging games that allow guests to interact and connect with each other. One thing I truly hope can change is the restriction on bringing outside food into the lobby. The lobby is such a vibrant and cozy space—it would be perfect for relaxing with some snacks or takeout. Allowing guests to enjoy their own food there would really enhance the social atmosphere. Overall, a well-designed and lively stay, with room to grow in guest engagement!
Nora L — Google review
Love love love my stay but the WiFi and Tv connectivity need improvement. The room has no storage were a bit too small for 2 people but appreciated the amenities like unlimited sparkling water. The gym was good and the atmosphere through the property was amazing and stay on theme, and the laundry room and ironing room were a very nice touch.

Moxy Taichung – super stylish and fun! 💫 Modern rooms, comfy beds, and a vibrant lobby bar. Perfect for young travelers who love a playful vibe and great location near the train station.
Ra C — Google review
No fridge to use and room is small, not much space for 2 large luggage bags. Cleaner changed the disposable sandals but left the used sandals lying in messy state outside area near toilet entrance. The walk way to rooms is not that bright. Collect sparkling or spring water need to walk far to laundry room located near the dark corner of walk way.

You get what you pay for. It's a trendy budget hotel with a cool concept and chic branding. The location next to the MRT is convenient to travel to train and high speed rail stations. The room is very basic, clean and small. However the mattress, pillows and the bedding are quite comfortable. My room is on the 11th floor and very quiet. I love the water fountain which also offers sparkling water. Except for the young man who could be a bit more courteous I like this hotel and would recommend it for solo travelers who just need a one night stay.

The Millennium Hotel Taichung is an upscale accommodation located in Xitun District of Taichung City. It offers luxurious rooms and suites with city views, equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee-making facilities, and spacious en suite bathrooms. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, rooftop bar, and day spa during their stay. The hotel's professional staff provides excellent service, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable experience for visitors.
The hotel shows it's age somewhat. Don't get me wrong, it's impeccably maintained. But you can tell that it was built and furnished some time ago when equipment/styles were different. What's truly outstanding is the service. Holy cow. Reception, porters, housekeeping, wait staff, kitchen staff at breakfast buffet are supremely polite and professional. Totally blown away by how great the service and attitude is of all of those we encountered. We don't know why Taichung and Millennium in particular are so outstanding in this regard but please take a bow people: you richly deserve it. Made us want to live in your city.

I’ve stayed here multiple times so trust me when i say, this hotel has been SEVERELY declining in its service and overall hospitality. They are RUDE to guests and KICK OUT hotel guests of spas for having a small towel while their own members are on their PHONES in the saunas and taking photos (clearly illegal). The rooms no longer provide ANY and all toiletries and make you buy them for extra. Also, don’t expect your room to be cleaned after every night, the house keeping does a LAZY job and doesn’t even make the bed. Also don’t bother taking it up with their lobby or workers because they’ll just brush it aside and tell you that there’s nothing they can do and laugh in your face. Unfortunately Millenium Taichung has turned into a lousy, budget cutting, and classless hotel with despicable service and terrible management. DO NOT RECOMMEND to any tourists or foreigners because they WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE of it.

Room is nice and big. I have a HUGE problem with them not providing basic amenities. Other hotels provide upon request, thing like tooth brush, comb. This hotel them ask u to purchase admist the high hotel cost. Location of the hotel, its out of the way. Nearest convinience stall is like 10 min walk, crossing big roads. Staff are polite, but seriously the definition of being a starred hotel versus a budget one hotel needs to be relooked at.

The rooms is very clean and always ensure complimentary drinks and fruit are provided daily. The fifth level executive launch staff are very friendly and helpful. Always attend to the customer and always smile with greating. The level three buffet breakfast is nice and a lot of variety, will be good to change the dishes daily . Else, the long staying customer will start to feel bored with the variety. In overall is derserve the value for staying in this hotel.

The hotel was great. The location is in a quiet area, mostly surrounded by residential buildings and companies. It's very near Taichung City Hall, which is a beautiful modern building with amazing public grounds. The Prime restaurant is very nice with amazing services and food. Additionally, there is amazing artwork throughout the hotel inside and out.

Stayed a long stay at Millennium Hotel Taichung for business. The rooms well maintained to a sufficient extend. However, during my stay there are times where there were maintenance work. Moreover 4/5 times the daily clean up room was great but there is sometimes my clothes are being thrown on the table and neglected by the staff (alittle bit unacceptable) In general, the staff were very friendly and polite in helping, especially the front desk and lounge staff.
George B — Google review
Nice high quality hotel. The breakfast buffet is somewhat limited on Western food items, but there is a broad selection to choose from. Outside of the hotel restaurants you are in a bit of a food desert. Plan on at least attend to 15 minute walk to go to a larger selection of restaurants. For short-term stays this will be perfectly fine.

Call it creature comforts but bidets and a tub are possibly that swings me over every time I visit for business. Executive lounge access is a perk. Rooms though maybe not as fancy as others, are roomy. Close to Feng Jia night market and malls makes it easy to stay.

The hotel is conveniently situated about 0.5 km from Taichung Ching Chuan Kang airport and offers easy access to cultural attractions such as CMP Block Outdoor Museum of Arts.
Enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were clean and well equipped and very comfortable. The customer service was excellent as they were very friendly and accomodating to all our needs - we are foreign travellers, so it was very convinient they were able to arrange for our transportation needs. Hotel feels very new and well maintained. Location was very convinient, with only a 10 minutes walk to the Feng Chia Night Market. Thank you for a wonderful experience Explore Hotel! Highly recommended.

This hotel is deceptive in multiple ways. The hotel lobby is heavily themed to make you feel like it’s disneyland. The reviews are rave. But in actuality, the rooms are poorly cleaned, tacky, and are potentially infested. My partner and I went into our room and found multiple issues: black mold in the showers, exposed and chipped paint near the sink, dust/cobwebs, stains and hair on the bedsheets, moldy amenities, and a cockroach trap underneath the desk. We also discovered that MANY of the 5 star reviews are actually requested by the hotel itself promoting that if you do, you will receive a discount or some special prize (If you don’t believe me, see all the 5 star reviews and examine how many have detailed reviews). I highly recommend you find elsewhere, as there are many more legitimate chain hotels nearby.

The staff have a real Issue with competency. We arrived at the hotel,, around 12 noon. Sure it was early for check in and we were told that we could deposit our bags first. And so we did. They then took my passport for checking purposes. When we returned in the evening at 7pm + . We were td we need to produce our passport and give our booking number again. Is there no comms between the different shifts . Is there no anticipation on their part for their clients who are already having their luggage in their custody . Atrocious. Rooms are seemingly well kept so far. To be fair

Over experience is pretty good at this hotel, staff are very friendly, but there are a few points I would like to address 1. Cleanliness of the hotel would need to improve, both of us (me and my wife) was bitten by mites quite serious after the 1st day of the day, but the staff did offer to change the bedsheet after we let them know and they change it for us but it get a few bites more after the 1st night. So I suspect it’s the bed, hope the hotel can see this message and do something about it. 2. The hotel sound proof is very bad. We can hear the bathing sound/ TV/ hair dryer sound is very loud just make the night wasn’t please. But they staff was well trained and very polite.

The hotel staff bothered me several times bordering on obnoxiousness, were inattentive to basic and commonsensical needs and on top of that the overpriced room was cramped and very basic economy. Not returning...
Christopher C — Google review
Cleanliness is definitely there despite eco cleaning maintenance provided. The only downside is the wifi connection was definitely not the best unless you open the room door due to the placement of router I believe. Location is near 逢甲夜市 and if you love a quiet spot this will be the option.

Nice hotel conveniently located north of Fongjia night market. It's aviation theme resembles the factory in its neighborhood.

One night stay is still alright at this hotel. Room looks fresh and its clean. Room though was abit small but just one night is passable. Irritatable part was that the one light is motion activated. Keeps flickering on & off whenever passed by. Also, basin located right outside the bathroom. Bath area lacks a little maintenance - molds and mildew. Gotta commend the staff! Warm and friendly services! They too enthusiastically run out of the hotel to help in giving directions to park when the underground parking is full!

The hotel provides modern guest rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and features amenities such as a fitness center with yoga classes and sauna facilities. Guests can enjoy a daily Western buffet breakfast at the on-site restaurant.
I stayed 2 nights here. One of the best hotels I stayed in Taiwan. The hotel is situated in a convenient location, with many food options, shops and markets nearby. The room is clean and quite spacious. The bathroom is big and clean as well. The breakfast in the morning is delicious with variety of options.

Giving it a 5 stars for the location, less than 5 mins walk to Yizhong night market. Room is spacious, can comfortably fit 2 queen size bed, still with ample room to move around. They have a functional hairdryer, but the power is super weak. Please also take note the bathtub can be very very slippery. Even with the bath mat, still make sure you be careful! They also have breakfast space at B1, offering a variety of food options. And please help to clear your plates after that! Overall, a pleasant stay here!

Pros Bodybuilders dream full access to World Gym which is on sight and plenty of serious weight training equipment, trainers and group fitness, breakfast buffet (although random selections) included, busy night market across the street and plenty of clothes shopping. Busy neighborhood full of young students. Cons alot of conveniences are included like free washer and dryer but the dryers can only handle light weight items and take forever to dry, simple space out your laundry during your stay, free Wi-Fi very very spotty when they are fully booked, breakfast buffet included very very limited to those who want a clean healthy first meal, and-if you stay a week you quickly get over the same choices every day, full access gym which limit one time work per day, (I’m spoiled) for those trying to do split workouts you’ll need to buy additional access. Rooms anywhere near the gym will hear the classes but the do end benefit typical bed time. Overall this by far is the most accommodating hotel experience I have in the 3 weeks in Taiwan. Have important things included helps make adventuring easier.

Initially I was fairly disappointed with Lai Lai Hotel. Summarised perks: - Lift needs card access to get to your level - Excellent location - L5 & L8 has water dispenser, free washer & dryer - There's detergent there as well. - Decent breakfast (a little different of some food each day) - Along the hotel has a NET store & convenient store - FamilyMart just round the corner. - Yizhong Night Market & Shopping district just opposite - Bus stop less than 100m - Bed feels like 2 joined Queen - Staffs (be it cafe, front desk or housekeeping) very friendly. - Got gym access What I didn't really like: - There's no toilet on L1 reception - The system might not be clear causing discrepancy. - Aircon seems to be insensitive to change. We came from an overnight flight and were exhausted. We arrived at around 11am. So the staff was very nice, process the registration, scan the passport and told us we can get our room by 12pm. So we deposited our luggage then went to grab some breakfast as we haven't eaten. Think Nina was her name. When we came back to check in, it was a different staff. Staff told us to wait till 1pm. Staff wasn't really bothered to assist us, just replied coldly, "now no room, maybe you want to deposit your luggage with us." Didn't even asked for surname/ how many nights. It's not a big deal. But I feel this could be better communicated and handled. Location was great. Just one street from Yizhong St. Night Market. Coming from Taichung Train Station was easy too. Take bus 5/25/35 and alight at Science & Technology University. Encountered with Nina again I think after her break. She checked us in & she was very clear with instructions, like B1 for breakfast , no breakfast voucher but saying the room number will do, Level 2 there's a gym.

Loved the central location. The rooms and lobby were formal, marble but a bit worn out. The rooms had initially a bit of a stale smell. But everything was very clean, friendly and functional. The breakfast was a typical Chinese middle class hotel buffet. All good. In Taiwan, i think I prefer rooms with en suite bathrooms in hostels better.

Good location as it is near bus stop, night market and department stores. Service staff are all polite, obliging and accommodative. Our family room comes with 2 big beds, balcony, ample space and 2 shower areas. Breakfast buffet and free washer/dryer provided. Only con is the hard bed but other than everything else is good. Recommended!

Stayed there for 2 nights. 4 ppl in one room. I forgot which suite it’s called but its the one with 2 queen size beds. Do not be tricked by the ghetto looks from the outside. The interior infrastructure looks fairly new and the breakfast choices is good and changes everyday. The hotel is clean and staff is really friendly. Was recommended by a relative and was not disappointed! Definitely staying there if I ever go Taichung again!! There is also a night market right across the street so it’s quite convenient. There is 7 eleven and macdonald across the street. However, not sure about the location as our relative offered to drive us around so location was not a problem.

It’s my family’s 3rd time stay at this hotel. Cannot recommend it enough. Service is amazing. Should have stayed here longer instead of other hotels. Best breakfast in our entire 4 week stay throughout Taiwan. ⭐️ variety of meat and vegetable dishes (the chefs checks the quantity often) ⭐️ green tea jelly (I always grab 3 - refreshing and light - great to have between dishes) 👎 not many western options (only toast and cereal) - mainly asian cuisine we were meant to visit Taichung at a different date however this hotel was fully booked so we changed our other hotel dates to find this hotel’s available dates to stay here!! dedicated 😂

I highly recommend this hotel! When I arrived in Taichung with my 90-year-old mother, she was extremely tired and unwell due to the heat after our trip to southern Taiwan. The front desk staff were incredibly kind and attentive. They immediately offered us a handicap-accessible room and even provided a shower chair when they saw my mom’s condition. Breakfast was included in our stay, but since my mother wasn't feeling well enough to go to the buffet room, I asked if I could bring some food back for her. The staff went above and beyond—carefully packaging a generous selection of food for me to take to her. They also helped us book a taxi and assisted with carrying our luggage to the car. I was truly impressed—the service here is better than at some five-star hotels. If I ever come back to Taichung, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality!

My 3rd time staying at this hotel. I returned because of the property's excellence location, plus the cleanliness was spotless in the room. The suite with bath tub is well sized, with an awesome view of the park. The front desk erroneously charged me an extra NT$300 for additional guest, however after I showed them the reservation was booked as 4 adults, Ms. Natasha was kind enough to assist me with the refund, which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast buffet includes a variety of western and Taiwanese flavors. Parking was very convenient in the basement. I look forward to come back again in the near future.

A modern contemporary hotel by Royal Hotel chain. Love the art pieces in the hotel perhaps because the National Fine Arts Museum is right across the street. Love the Zebra Cafe with the cute zebra as the mascot. The zebras liven up the space and the cafe is where breakfast is served. Very good variety for breakfast too and there’s live noodle stations. Our room has a good view of the museum. The toilet and the bathroom are separate rooms and a good size basin. Very comfortable space. Very convenient location where there’s the museum and also Shengping Vilage for craft market shopping.

5th time visiting! I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Place Taichung Hotel for the fifth time, and once again, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Returning to this hotel feels like coming home. The familiarity of the friendly staff who remembered me from previous visits made check-in a breeze. The room was as clean and comfortable as ever, providing a serene retreat amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the things I always look forward to during my stays is the delicious breakfast spread. The variety of options never fails to impress, and it's the perfect way to start the day before heading out to explore Taichung. The hotel's location continues to be one of its biggest assets. Centrally located, it's easy to access all the attractions and amenities that Taichung has to offer, making it an ideal base for both business and leisure travelers. Overall, my fifth visit to The Place Taichung Hotel was just as wonderful as the previous ones. The consistently high standards of cleanliness, the ease of check-in and out, the delectable breakfast, and the prime location make it my top choice whenever I'm in Taichung. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

I stayed there for many months due to my husband’s work. The surroundings are not very pleasant but the Gaomei wetlands are close and worth it. It’s easy to visit different regions of Taiwan from there, getting quick access to the highway. The breakfast used to be better 2 years ago, as they reduced it a lot in diversity. The rooms are really good, very clean ( except the windows) and the bedding outstanding. A great thanks to Candy ( Mingli) from the clean staff, who was so friendly, efficient ( English speaking!) and always ready to help. It’s definitely a family friendly hotel, full of kids during the weekend.

MINI HOTELS 台中火車站館 is a trendy 4-star hotel located in Xitun District, at the heart of Taichung. The hotel offers a unique and charming atmosphere with stylish British-themed interior design. Guests can enjoy a commercial area on the 8th floor with Harry Potter-inspired decor and complimentary drinks available 24/7.
Very nice little hotel located in a good location not that far from the train station. The staff were professional and polite. The room was clean and neat, and suits our needs. The sound proof of the room was good. A nice little add-on was the coin operated washing machine and dryer at the 8th floor, and they were cleaned and maintained. Highly recommended.

Coming back after 7 years, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the hotel had been maintained — it looked almost exactly as I remembered. Its location is also great, within walking distance to the train station and the famous Miyahara ice cream shop."

I’m giving this hotel an easy 5 out of 5! The room was impeccably clean, and the staff were not only professional but also exceptionally understanding and accommodating. It made my stay incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a seamless and pleasant experience!

I’m back here after 6 years and I stayed longer than the previous one-night stay. I booked this again because I was impressed by my first experience, 6 years ago. Mini Hotels literally is about compact hotel rooms. They have expertly made use of a very small floor area so it’s perfect for a solo traveler like me and for its price? Really worth it! The Hotel is strategically located walking distance across the Taichung Station. There’s also plenty of restaurants around including a cat café and the Taroko Mall. It’s also surrounded by convenience stores. So the bed is located at the top like a bunk bed. I had a really comfortable sleep. There’s lack of storage space for your clothes but make it do, you have no choice anyway. I am so satisfied with the bathroom. Very clean and modern. The water pressure is strong and easy to use. However, there’s only the basic amenities like the towels, hair dryer, cotton buds, toothbrush and toothpaste and bottled shampoo and body wash. There’s no hand wash, I had to buy my own. For other amenities like comb, razor and slippers, you have to get them from the front desk. The room has buttons for “make room” and “do not disturb” which for me, is very convenient and cool! There’s a mini ref but you have to ask the front desk for assistance to turn its mode to refrigeration. It’s only good for “cooling” your water. The breakfast is so-so but can’t complain, it’s free! Overall, it’s a fantastic experience, the front desk staff are very polite and accommodating, and I highly recommend booking your stay here!

Cute decorations and festive colors. Rooms are bunk bed styles, kind of interesting but smaller than expected. Although it is called “mini” hotels, overall certainly adorable.

Hotel is clean and great location. Parking is 3 minutes walk. Jenny was very helpful and kind when we checked in. Room is neat and tidy. Japan heated toilet seat. Multiple USB wall outlets through out the room.
Scott F — Google review
The location of the hotel is great, close to the centre of Taichung but in a quiet street. Our room was very small, but they used the available place smartly, so it was ok for two people. We could park our car for free at a parking garage nearby. This hotel exceeded my expectations considering the rather friendly price.

Provide big rooms for big family. Breakfast is included too. It is a value for money hotel for big family. Location is good. It is near the Taichung railway station. It is located near big malls like Taroko mall and lala port. It is located near Zhongxiao Night Market. There is a laundromat just a few stores away.

Guide Hotel Taichung ZiYou is a conveniently located accommodation in the heart of Taichung, just a short walk from the railway station and bus terminal. The hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms with free WiFi, making it easy for guests to explore the city's attractions. The staff is praised for their efficiency and helpfulness, ensuring a pleasant stay for visitors. Guests appreciate the value-for-money aspect of this hotel, with spacious rooms equipped with necessary amenities.
Very clean hotel, staff is very helpful especially during morning breakfast! Location is close to Taichung train station. However, the East district where this hotel is in, is a bit quieter and less lively. quite a few local shops are closed. Interestingly lots of KTV lounges around, so can feel a bit seedy. Otherwise, the hotel itself is really nice. Good value.

very spacious room. very strong smell of moisture when opening the room door. was given the room at level 8, got a locked door was told is for Karaoke it made me felt very uneasy throughout the stay (unable to change as hotel was fully booked) no windows as well. i had difficulty with my basin drainage, informed guest service before leaving in the morning, when i returned, issue wasnt solved yet. Tried to call guest service via phone but no one picked up as well, had to go to lobby to seek for assistance. location was friendly, got bus options to various location. breakfast provided have to go to another location.

Price is okay from location point of view. Generally it is clean. But old style. Good tv local channels. Towels smell like bleach, but acceptable. Mostly self serve. Room has coffee packs and bottles of water.
Andy P — Google review
Hotel location is unbeatable. Super accessible in the centre of Taichung and at an unbeatable value too. One complaint I would say is that although checkin is at 4pm on the dot, it does seem like the employees are instructed to not allow early check in. We arrived at the hotel around 2pm hoping for a chance to check in early which is usually allowed at most hotels unless they are still cleaning rooms. We are told by the hotel staff that the rooms are being cleaned and to wait a bit longer. At 3:45 I come back and I’m told the same thing. As soon as 4pm rolls around I walk up again and before I can even ask if any rooms are done being cleaned, I’m told I can self check in at the kiosk along with all of the other guests waiting in the lobby. I really doubt that in 15 minutes all the rooms were miraculously cleaned and ready to go. It almost seems as if they are instructed to not allow early check in, or simply do not care enough to go out of their way to explain to guests why. It would have been more transparent to simply say that they don’t allow early check in. My assumption was that if at 3:45 none of the rooms are done being cleaned, that I would have no chance of checking in at 4pm. A but misleading. The cleanliness of the room was also ok, on par with that of a 3 star hotel, for the price paid I have no complaints.
Eva Y — Google review
Worst checkout experience ever. Check in time is 4pm and checkout time is 11am without any consideration even for 1 minute early check in nor checkout later than 1 minute. 2 staff wearing specs on duty on 25 May 2025 during daytime, one male and one female should be terminated from the front desk service and exit hotel industry. Requested for late check out at 10.15am on that day but wasn’t granted even for 30 minutes with the reason one of my friends is a chronic disease patient under special treatment and we needed a bit of time to prepare ourselves. That guy wearing specs asked me to send my friend to the hospital instead of taking 30 minute extra in the room. Both of them asked us to pay NT300 for more 30 minutes late checkout. Sharp at 11am they called to urge for checkout. Every 10 minutes they called to the room whilst we ready and took a bit extra time to prepare for checkout. They even checked on the cctv to make sure we were out. They questioned my friend whom had a surgery but recovering to go to the hospital which I felt very insulting. They even asked for her ID card to make sure she’s the citizen and I was arguing with them that the 30 minute late checkout has nothing to do with taking her ID for verification. My friend was staying with us in the same hotel from 22-24 May whilst we stayed from 20-25 May for 2 bookings. The hotel is not worth for a long stay not just with the way they treated us for not granted that 30 minute of late checkout more so I even brought an extra booking for them since my friend made another new reservation in the same hotel just because to spend some quality times with us due to her sickness. She wasn’t able to return home and stayed the final evening with us with the approval from the night shift lady staff and they even provided extra blanket and bedsheet. These 2 fellars asked us to pay for the extra person on the last evening whilst it wasn’t informed by the night shift staff and the most stupid respond is they didn’t know the night shift granted us the approval for my friend whom checkout out from another booking stayed with us just for 1 evening. This has nothing to do with us with their miscommunication. They checked the cctv throughout to make sure we didn’t lie for what we explained. I’ve never felt so insulted by any hotel service like how GUIDE HOTEL Taichung ZiYou, 承携行旅 had done on 25 May 2025. Both with my friend whom is sick and my friend traveling with me. The AC never worked properly. During the summer, the lowest can go until 25 degC and upon complaining they just mentioned it is normal. This is a ridiculous and brainless answer. Middle of the night, the entire main switch panel fallen and cutoff the entire power of the room. Again complained in the next morning but no action was taken, we had to fix ourselves. The housekeeping is the worst ever. Please do not expect cleaning service, they only replenished the towels, tissues and beverage. We have to wash the cups, clean the toilet, basin and table. For the whole week we stayed, never changed nor tidied up the linen nor pillow case. I only appreciate the staff working night shift between 23-24 May 2025 who were accommodating keeping our dried food in the chiller as the minibar in the room is hotter and higher temperatures than the room temperature. Well, everything is normal to them when the minibar and the room were hot. You just need to accept. My visit to Taiwan was disastrous on our last day which ruined my entire experience. This is the third times and I won’t go Taiwan again because of the Taiwanese hospitality. Both of these hotel staff made a big mistakes in treating the guests. My Taiwanese friend felt so sorry with the situation and certainly ashamed with the hospitality we received on the day we departed from Taiwan.
Angel C — Google review
My first visit to Taiwan and I will not be staying at this place again for the following reasons On arrival we could not check in until 4pm but on check out we had to vacate room by 11am No smart tv in the room unheard of in my travels Outside in the smoking area there were untold amount of cigarette butts which was tidied up when I mentioned this to the staff Taiwan is promoting itself in Australia but I am afraid they are falling we short
Peter A — Google review
Everything was great. The price is reasonable, given the spaciousness of the room, cleanliness, and convenient location. However, one issue that upset me and my family was the behavior of the male receptionist with glasses. He had a bad temper and was rude while assisting us with the self-check-in process. At first, he didn’t even want to help when the machine malfunctioned. When we asked for assistance, he guided us in a scolding tone. Despite this, everything else about the stay was wonderful and pleasant.
Calvin W — Google review
Spacious family room, clean enough. Strangely uncomfortable mattresses. The location is opposite to a red light district area where many ladies of the night hang around. Nearby are some adult clubs …. It is not pleasant. The surrounding buildings also make for an unwelcoming environment… old and run down adjacent to the hotel. The main road location of the hotel is rather noisy to sleep next to, hence writing this review after midnight as I can’t sleep next to the traffic noise… The self check in is a novel idea but for tourists who have travelled some way to get to the hotel I prefer to be greeted by staff for an inviting check in rather than dealing with a slow machine. Staff was at hand if need check in help so might as well provide the full service check in to welcome guests? I’m happy to do self checkout, which makes more sense. Compared to other 4 to 5 star hotels I have been to, I think this hotel is more accurately a 3 to 3.5 star hotel. Finally, the cost of the room is slashed to about Aud50/night (last minute deal), whilst I paid over Aud 150/night booking in advance

La Vida Hotel is a modern and stylish business hotel located in Taichung's Xitun District, just a short 2-minute walk from Fengchia Night Market. The hotel offers streamlined, Nordic-style guestrooms with elegant decor and premium stone materials. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a gym, dining options, and conference facilities. The location on a busy commercial street provides easy access to the vibrant atmosphere of the night market and nearby shops.
This is the best hotel I've ever been. The room is clean with full complimentary items for convenience. The room and bathroom are large with a hot tub, closet, bidet toilet (although in Japanese) , and a bolted down safe. Its location is next to the college night market, offering entertainment, food, and nearby convenient stores. The hotel offers exquisite varieties for breakfast, gym, complimentary tea time with games for kids, and a beautiful quiet garden. No unwanted insects here! Staff were courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and able to speak English. Secure elevator access added extra sense of safety and peace of mind. Having been a hotel manager myself, this hotel is easily a 5 star rating. I highly recommend this hotel to fellow foreigners traveling to Taichung, Taiwan. Book your room early and enjoy. To hotel staff: Great work and keep it up. You've earned my trust.

Hotel breakfast was good and we enjoyed the games corner at the lobby, it was a nice concept to have marble games in the games corner… we took out food from the night market and had it at the lobby area and it was comfortable and perfect location for this… perhaps the games room could be open till later without any snacks for hotel guests to take out night market food back to eat… hotel was really near the night market… rooms were slightly old but otherwise comfortable … lack of power sockets though and strange design where we could not position our plug properly without an adaptor due to the table design

The area was great 3mins walk to fengchia night market. Parking was good. If you drive 9 seater van; they have a big parking space for you. Only 1min walk to the hotel. Breakfast is also good. If you travel to Taichung; please try to stay La Vida Hotel.

My main issue w this hotel was the showerhead. The water literally sprays in all directions. While i adjusted the heater to a suitable temperature, it will automatically turn very hot suddenly when i did not further adjust it. If you need travel adaptor can rent from them at 100 NTD deposit. NO free bottled water - need to refill at their water dispenser which ran out of water at one occasion which i wanted to refill water. NO toothbrush/toothpaste/razor provided. For this price i am paying, i expected more. But location is good near night market with lots of food, so paying for good location and nearby convenience. I paid for two rooms (same room type) but they had different layout one is better than the other. Including the toilet.

Hotel was clean, and staff were friendly and helpful. Room came with breakfast and the spread was a decent surprise. Hotel is within walking distance to Feng Jia night market, went there every night during our stay.. Really convenient place to find food. Experienced an earthquake on the last night of our stay.. The shaking woke my wife, but I remained fast asleep. Hotel is still standing strong 👍

We stayed at La Vida for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. As we are traveling with a newborn, the hotel kindly provided us with a baby cot, baby bathtub and bottle steriliser. All the baby items were already in the room when we checked in. Fengjia Night Market was just 5 minutes away, which makes it really convenient for us. There is also a coin laundry just opposite, and we were able to do our laundry during our stay at a very affordable price. 10/10 would recommend, and we would definitely choose La Vida if we were to visit Taichung again in the future.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Although the room had no windows facing the street, it was large and comfortable. The room was kept clean and made up daily. Breakfast was with good variety although the menu didn't change from one day to the next. The hotel is just a couple of streets from Feng Chia night market making it super convenient. We enjoyed our stay here.

This stylish hotel features air-conditioned rooms equipped with essential amenities like free WiFi, a Kenwood kettle, an espresso machine, and a spacious bathroom with modern fixtures.
Very clean, modern interior. Friendly and helpful reception staff who greeted us with smiles and info for the neighbourhood (one of them spoke smooth English too!) The modern design, colour, the slide and Christmas gift are all nice touches. Location is convenient, just close to night market and cinema. Room is clean and well-furnished. Only problem is the soundproofing- Can hear other rooms water pipes.

Located close to the older/original side of town to get the authentic feel of Taichung. They were super sweet and were very nice to my daughter who went on the slide every day, many many times. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was simple but nice and clean. Free water and slippers. Free breakfast, but very strict about ordering the night before and difficult to make changes. There is a vegetarian meal so that is great. The food is great for adults. For kids, they might be a little picky (for example, waffle with yogurt dill sauce on top). Other than the meal restrictions, I am very happy with our stay at this hotel. We left items in the room and they made sure to keep it for us. Very happy and will be back.

Totally enjoyed our stay here. The interior of the entire hotel is very well designed and is super delightful; it brightens our day whenever we step back into the hotel. Recommend everyone to explore the entire hotel! The room was nice and comfy though I did notice a slight musky smell but its not too overpowering. Really enjoyed the breakfast, it was really yummy! The staff were all very friendly and helpful! Also tried the slide on our last day and it was actually super fun. Would recommend it especially for families with children!
Rae N — Google review
The hotel and room matched the online photos perfectly. The front desk staff were friendly, and the room was clean. However, the quadruple room felt a bit cramped for four people. A significant downside was the lack of mirrors—there was only one in the bathroom, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, the door lacked a peephole, and the soundproofing was subpar. Breakfast was monotonous, with the same menu throughout our five-night stay. On the positive side, the hotel is in a quiet location with a few convenience stores and street food options within walking distance. The lobby and chill area had great aesthetics, adding a nice touch to the overall experience.
Sandy S — Google review
We had a great time at this hotel travelling as a family with 2 kids. All the staff were great, the ones in the restaurant were attentive to the kids, the menu offers healthy balanced meal. The giant slide is definitely a good catch, both adults and kids were enjoying it. There is a large play area on the second floor for the kids to run around and read books. The room was very tight with 2 queen beds and just a small walkway left to put the luggages. No complaints though just pointing out wishing the room could be bigger for 4pax.
Ferdian G — Google review
This hotel is very nice and I would recommend!! Clean, comfortable, spacious, very friendly staff and they have a slide from one floor to another, what more could you want. The beds are massive and very comfortable and the showers are big too.
Colette W — Google review
Very chic boutique lodging here, quite a gem of Taichung I must say. The design is retro avant garde which I am fond of. We had a rental car which hotel gave us complimentary overnight parking with unlimited in and out privilege during the 24 hr period. The nearby outdoor parking lot is about 7-8 minutes walk from hotel which I felt was okay. But the instructions for parking access was a bit confusing (not made simple enough), hope this can improve in future.

A very cozy hotel. I stayed here with my family of 5. We love that it’s really close to Fengjia night market so it’s very lively ! And many eateries around too. Highly recommend !

Room was clean. The room was a decent size. Everyone at the front desk was nice and helpful. On the 6th floor, the hotel has a washing machine (with a supply of detergent) and a dryer that guests can use for free. They also have a kitchen and living room area just above the first floor. I stayed in the area because I wanted to be able to walk to Fengchia Night Market. But, next time, I won’t stay in the area because the smell of stinky tofu at night is so strong that you can’t open the window. One suggestion I would make to the hotel owner is to use a different towel cleaning company because the detergent used to wash the towels smell slightly bad. At Fengchia Night Market, be sure to get the pepper meat cakes where they cook them by sticking them to the sides of an oven. They have similar things at Raohe Night Market in Taipei. Other recommended places to eat are PAUL cafe, Shann Rice Bar at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, 9th floor, and Shan Shin restaurant.
Heythave — Google review
We loved our stay at Innk Hotel. Family of 5 and we got a studio room with two double beds and bathroom upstairs. Big livingroom, terrasse, bathroom downstairs. It was very comfortable staying there and the staff where very helpful. I had some inquiries before we arrived. They wrote a post it note and handed it to me when we checked in. Which bus we should take to the different places we wanted to go and how long time it would be walking after getting off the bus. They where also very helpful with our daytrip out of Taichung. Very easy to get to Fengjia Night Market and a lot of stuff to eat just downstairs.

Innk is a decent hotel in a great location near lots of food and a great place to explore Taichung. Overall experience is good however the checkout experience was not very nice. We were under constant calls even before the checkout time to ask us to check out. Its not a pleasant experience feeling under pressure and unwelcome. Also we couldn't locate one of our cards that we know is in the room somewhere so we were charged extra. I think the hotel can do more to relax on this point, train the staff to be more relaxed and considerate then would be a better experience.

We are travelling as a famiky of 5. Its a super clean room! Cery close to fengjia night market. Abour 5 minites on foot. We highly recommend this hotel!
Welesiang — Google review
Our stay was great until checkout. Just 10 minutes before checkout time, the front desk called telling us we had to leave immediately or pay extra — even though the next guests check in at 3 PM. We spent a lot of money here and simply needed a few minutes to pack, yet there was zero flexibility or courtesy. On top of that, they warned we’d be charged if we lost our room keys. These strict, unfriendly policies are not what a service-oriented hotel should have. The hotel needs to change these rules — this is supposed to be hospitality, not enforcement.
Jeanne Y — Google review
Wi-Fi wasn’t working and no attempt to inform at check-in. while the attitude was cordial and polite, staff was unhelpful and offered no compensation/assistance when we checked on the Internet except to share that its a telco fault, wifi expected to be out for 3days, and nothing can be done. Definitely do not recommend. Also, a gift would be provided for good reviews not sure if it has any influence on the ratings

I’d give 10 stars for customer service if I could. Every single worker there really has a great attitude. They are really the nicest I’ve seen in the hospitality industry here (we stay in budget hotels/hostels here in TW) Notes: - they have a free shuttle that you to/from the night market every 20 minutes. - No fuss parking - ample parking is diagonally across from the hotel next to a coffee shop - CLEAN! Tables rooms elevator lobby everything about this place was spotless. - Everything, all amenities/toiletries, you need in a room is provided - room was comfortable. We felt at home here - definitely enjoyed the coffee machine and snacks Would definitely stay here again

5 stars service, 3 stars price Very impressed the services provided by this 45 guest rooms small hotel in Taichung. A staff called to reconfirm room reservation one day prior, and asked if any additional services required. High performance of Front desk staff, passionate and smooth check in procedures, given useful information, provided us with simple tourist location map, reminded us of their free shuttle service to the local night market (the highlight), then escorted us to park our car basement. Room was spacious for couple, comfortable bed (we love it), separate shower and toilet, supplied with basic amenities, all functions well. Big flat TV, strong free Wifi. The breakfast was nicely displayed, good selection, high level of services, considering a small local hotel, no wonder running high occupancy during weekday. We give a big credit to the management and thank you for the Excellent services provided to us during our overnight stay. Miller Inn - we shall return !

The Tempus Hotel Dadun is a 5-star hotel that offers luxurious accommodation and impeccable service. The entire property is decorated with tasteful elegance, and the staff are attentive and dedicated to ensuring that every guest has a great experience. Two polished restaurants are free of charge for guests, as well as spacious and comfortable suites. This modern hotel is perfect for travellers who demand the very best in luxury accommodation.
There is an older main wing, and a newer wing across the road. We stayed in the new wing in a large room with two comfortable king size beds and two bathrooms/showers. The room was comfortable, clean and attractive. House keeping polite and efficient. Front desk staff helpful and efficient. The included buffet breakfast was a bit lacklustre, but plentiful and filling. The hotel stops the buffet at 10am weekdays. There is an adjacent large gym and swimming pool. Looked in the gym- seemed good, and quite busy. The pool is old-ish and outdoor, but large with plenty of space for loungers & tables. Water a bit cold for kids but ideal for swimming laps. There is a steam room, large jacuzzi (12 people easily) and another pool set up with high pressure jet massagers. My daughter cut her foot on a sharp stone in the pebble-dash pool lining. The lifeguards very quickly got the first aid kit and patched her up very skilfully and gently (thanks lifeguard Tina!). Didn’t try the seafood restaurant in the foyer of new wing, but it has beautiful salt water decorative tanks outside that the kids loved. Good safe bet for a family hotel.

Clean and value for money. Pretty spacious as I booked a family room. Got 2 queen sized bed and 2 bathroom. Parking is limited and you might have to parked opposite the sister hotel

This hotel fails to reach the value for its price. (I’m paying over 6500 NTD for my night). It’s far from a 5-star hotel as it indicates online. The facilities feel worn and cheap. The overall musky environment makes one feel physically uncomfortable. Spots and details of room are unkept, dusty and dirty. Hotel swimming pool is closed permanently, Good thing they have a big kid’s playroom to offer. At least the front desk staff was friendly.

Very happy about the room layout as we dislike noise (especially with 2 little kids) and they put the bathroom most close to the road and the bedroom is noise shielded by another door from the bathroom. Breakfast was nice varieties and staff were very friendly. Another puzzle is that in the night we can hear noise from other rooms, not sure it’s from upstairs or next door, luckily it went away as it got late.

Room is comfortable but all the hotel facilities are in another building which is not quite convenient, neither in the Dadun building nor the main building! The swimming pool is big but remember to have your own sandals! The only one disadvantage of the pool is that the step ladder is made up of rock / granite, no matter you are coming up from or going down into the pool, it hurts and extremely uncomfortable! It’s really a stupid design! The breakfast is normal, and there is only one coffee machine, queuing up for a century just for a cup of coffee! Besides, the food is normal, do not expect too much! The ventilation there is not good, full of oily cooking smell. How can a 5-star hotel manage like this?
Louis L — Google review
first the pros: 1. the room is clean and spacious 2. lots of food selection for breakfast the cons: 1. the breakfast food quality is not 5-star worthy. more like 3 stars. 2. the staff in the gym were borderline rude. 3. there are no other window beside the ones right next to the bath tub. if you open the drapes there’s another building adjacent. there’s basically no way to get natural lighting without being utterly exposed. 3. the bed mattress offered very poor support. coupled with #4 the stay was far from comfortable. 4. there was a very bright red LED on the smoke detector that can’t be turned off or blocked which shone through the night. very inconsiderate design. this is definitely one of the worst ‘5-star’ hotels i’ve ever stayed.

Waste of money. Not clean at all, we found trash in our room when checking-in. So we are not sure if they really clean the room or not. After switching to another room, someone previously stayed at that room smoked, so we are forced to stay at a smelly room whole night with US165 night stay.

What a cute and amazing hotel. Hotel and hostel combined into one. Rooms are very spacious. As with a lot of hotels and federal environmental law, amenities are not provided in rooms except shampoo and body wash. But u can ask for it at reception. Great value for money and highly recommended

Stayed here for 4 nights and the hotel exceeded my expectations! Cleanliness was top notch, especially the shared toilets for the single bedders at B1. Special mention to Marcus, the concierge for his warm hospitality. He is like a ball of sunshine and made coming back to the hotel after a long day really heartwarming! Thank you Marcus for your excellent hospitality! You deserve a pay raise! The only cons of for that there are no lift service to B1. So it’s a little troublesome to move my luggage! But the staff are always happy to assist!

It’s unfortunate that we only got to stay one night here. Among the six hotels we tried in Taiwan, this one stands out! It’s 7-minute walk from Taichung TRA, a few steps away from Miyahara. Highlight is its modern style, with a loft-styled shared space equipped with cooking utensils for a great night snacks! Breakfast served was delish too. My husband and I were so happy! There’s a coin laundry inside the shared space as well. Highly recommended!

Very well situated in Taichung ,its near to the attraction and very convenient for us to take public transport. I think this is the best choice i made after comparing few options. Hotel is clean , i love the shower , water pressure is strong ! And u can easily refill water from the water station at your floor . Each time back to hotel also feel welcoming and relax. Down side is - no slipper provided, but u can buy it from hotel. Only 4 hangers provided in the room which not sufficient for 2 of us. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to those who want to stay in Taichung!

The hotel was okay. I wasn't expecting much because of the cheap price however, this room was worse than I imagined. I like how they give free snacks during happy hour but the room was so messy. The towels are worn, and ripping and everything was cheap in the hotel. The towels were so bad that I had to use the hair dryer to dry myself. The only good part abt it is that it is cheap and close to the station.

spotless room with a beautiful layout. Love the B2 lounge as well. Breakfast is provided which is a plus— though taste is average.

1. Poor service; 2. Poor anti-sounds system; 3. Slippers not provided; 3. Limited breakfast options; 4. Good location but super close to busy road; 5. Night treat only has fewer instance noodle options; 6. Poor cleaning service; 7 No card access for any floor; 8. Security system needs improve; 9. No bottle water provided but got water filter machine Cost around 2000 NTD per night Stay OLAH TAICHUNG for 2 nights, staffs at reception are not warm welcomed at beginning. After I got checked in and on the way to my room, there is no card access to any floors that means all staff and guest can enter any floor. At my room I checked everywhere in my room but I can’t find a pair of slippers. OH MY GOODNESS it is understandable no toothpaste kit provided for environment sustainability but who travel with a pair of slippers?????? Later on I heard 2 girls talking at aisle way, I can definitely hear them clearly and then I can also hear cars sounds even the sounds of wheel rolling. Super hard to get sleep if you got sensitive of sounds. Next morning, I saw our receptionist cook our breakfast for us and OLAH’s breakfast only got fewer options. After that, I went out with my friends so we spent whole afternoon outside but the toilet wasn’t brushed by cleaner after I backed to my room. I need to mention that we do have night treats but only limited category of instance noodle provided and it’s self service. Over all, this hotel is NOT RECOMMENDED.

I had a wonderful stay here! The front desk staff, especially Fei Lawrence, were always friendly, professional, and full of smiles. Everyone I interacted with during my stay showed a high level of service and attention to detail. One lovely surprise was the complimentary apples available at check-out—a small but thoughtful touch that truly made my experience even better. Highly recommended!

Walkable distance - about 10 min to Fengjia night market. Quiet rooms if you keep the windows closed and 7-11 is opposite! Room is small but ok. I'm a little affected by how the shower is right beside the entrance. When we enter the room or exit the room, it can be a bit annoying to push the floor mat aside when we want to walk in or out. Also I'm particular aboutt having some shoe space but the entrance is very cramp with the external basin being part of the entrance corridor. Other than that, the room is ok and clean! There's free sparkling water at each level’s lift area. They provide not only complimentary breakfasts but also supper!!!

Stayed at the In Joy Hotel recently and had a fantastic experience! The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Fengjia Night Market. Located conveniently near a night market and convenience stores just across. Highly recommend.

This location is just a 7 mins walk from Feng Jia night market. The hotel service staff are very good, and friendly. My partner fell sick and we called reception to ask for advice for clinics nearby. The staff said they will call us back. Waited for 5 mins and one of them came knocking on our door, with a printed map, highlighted 3 nearby clinics, provided us with the details and even checked the clinic’s time etc. very impressed by the service and thankful for this as we managed to rush to the clinic before the closing hours. The hotel room is also very clean and I like the breakfast spread. They offer free supper too from 9-1030pm daily. Overall a very good experience and I will definitely return here. Thanks so much!

BEWARE* You have to check in 12noon and check in 8pm again EVERYDAY of your booking. Otherwise pay $100usd extra per day to not checkout. They will rent your room out for 3hours stay if you do check out. Facilities pretty old. Location there's nothing near us, but Uber is pretty convenient Swimming pool is maybe 90cm deep and very strong chemical Breakfast is bad I could only find 1 power point plug in the whole pool villa Overall customer service is pretty good

Stayed here for 9 nights and it was very peaceful and quiet in the room. Yes you can hear the karaoke singing in the pantry area but that's about it. The room and bathrooms were clean all the time, with wet and dry section for shower. The staffs were friendly. The location is directly below a bus stop where you can take bus to almost anywhere in taichung.

I traveled to Taichung to visit my firend. And for some reason I was a bit under the weather, sleep a bit too deep and rush catch the last minute to check out. But after that, while I was resting in the lobby, reception come to told me that after check out I was not allowed to charge my device and even use the toliet. I mean Taiwan is pretty convenient, most 7-11s have toliet and there are charging place at the train station, which is very close. But I feel sad about their hostile, snobby approach. There are plently hostel with similar price point around this area, I'd recommend to try somewhere else.

I love this Inn, even though the location quite sketchy and quite hard to find but, you eventually will find the lift that leads you to the inn. Location was good, easily access bus stations and nearby the 2nd market which people said has good breakfasts (unfortunately I didn't visit here) The service was good, the receptionist was nice and the greatest thing is they have a DOG. I fell in love, one thing for sure, if you get food with you, it will keep begging and giving you puppy eyes, but please DO NOT feed the dog. Onto the room, I booked female dorm, and I couldn't find anything to complain about, it's clean, it's fresh, it spacious with good curtains and lighting and locker. Toilet and shower room is also nice and clean, they provide toiletries, shampoo, soap, tooth paste, towel, tooth brush, glass, and hairdryer. I just love this full service kind of inn, it makes my travel easier and lighter. They also provide breakfast and snacks, sadly I didn't had the time to try the breakfast due to my short trip and rush itinerary. They also have public refrigerator, you can use it just need to inform the front desk staff so they could help you to marked your belongings. All in all, this is a good place, good for solo or with friends. Will book again if I come back.

Extremely clean place, with the best toilets I've ever seen in a hostel. The shower cubicles have 2 compartment, one for showering and one for drying off! They have great amenities, a washing area with a drying machine (not those with hot air, its those that acts like a centrifuge but its good enough), air drying services, washing services and great wifi! The breakfast buffet is reasonable too. Very nice and clean environment overall. I was unlucky enough to have a room full of heavy snorers, but the provided earplugs are great. They provide a very well thought out basket of accessories for you when you arrive, there's earplug, water, facial towel, bathing towel, cup and toothbrush!

Great hotel. Excellent service and hospitality. Bi-Lingual(English and Mandarin). Plenty of free snacks and drinks. They don’t charge you for the snack and drinks in the room. They held our luggage for 3 hours after we checked out free of charge while we waited for driver. Very friendly!

Room is clean and cozy and good for multiple pax to stay in without getting in each other’s way. The sink, shower and toilet bowl is all segregated comfortably and with spaciousness. There is a nice walkway outside the toilet where you can place your luggage or sit to wear your shoes. There is a lot of walking space around the bed, and the counter table stretches the entire length of the room so there is always space to place your items or get ready. There are no chunky chairs that block, only cozy stools. And there is a lighted vanity makeup mirror. I love the spaciousness and layout of the room. Room is very well designed. Others may like the generous free snacks like hello panda and pocky and can/packet drinks in the fridge but not necessary unless you snack or have kids. The room service across the 3 nights is on point. They gave replacement of new clean towels everytime. Bed is comfy and room temperature is right as well. Staff is friendly and give lots of guidance Toothbrush toothpaste no longer provided from 2025 due to govt policy/guidance abt sustainability for one-time use products. Body/hair/hand soap given is good. Toilet bowl has bidet with warm toilet seat 7am-10am extensive breakfast available so you can immediately go for tourist activities at convenience. Just a 3 min walk from hotel there is also a soy milk and Taiwanese breakfast local store that is so good too. Recommend this hotel for cleanliness Tv is good and easy to use to connect to YouTube, Netflix etc

DO NOT STAY HERE. This is located in an old building with refurbished interior, and only the top 2 floors belong to two hotels. The rest of the building has offices - it feels like the hotel leased each individual floor to put in some rooms and call it a hotel. When we were staying there, they told us there are construction noises due to construction in the building - I was very worried about fire hazards. The rooms are also cheaply renovated and have bad ventilation - do not believe in the pictures. It is also not very convenient in terms of location and is in a residental area with no public access. HIGHLY do not recommend.

This was our 2nd time to stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They put many snacks and drinks in our room, my family loves the snacks. We had a great stay at Spring’s Rhapsody Hotel. BIG THANK YOU TO MEG! She went above and beyond for us! We were planing a camping trip after our stay there and had trouble booking a campsite with everything in mandarin. She helped us search for campsites, made countless calls to different campsites and when we finally found one that was available she made reservations and helped us liaise with campsite. We are so grateful for her help! Without her we would probably have cancelled our camping trip. The other staff there were also very hospitable and friendly. Always ready to help. They saw that it was a couple days away from my birthday and even surprised me with a cake :) The location is alright, a quick car ride to Shen Ji New Village and Fengchia night market, not too much that’s walkable. Rooms were on the smaller side but still very comfortable and well maintained Definitely a hotel we would stay at again! Thanks again Meg! You are the best!

The hotel staffs were professional and friendly. Convenient location, there were a FamilyMart, many beverage shops and restaurants nearby. If you drove yourself, the hotel had its own parking lot with plenty of spaces. If it was full, you would need to use a nearby paid parking lot. Queen room was clean and spacious. But there were no windows that open, and the natural light was limited. They offered snacks and drinks in the refrigerator at no extra charge. There was a capsule coffee machine and a few complimentary pods. The room came with a makeup mirror with great lighting, which was perfect for girls. From the moment I arrived until the time of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, I want to commend your staff for their exceptional hospitality and warmth. From the front desk to housekeeping, every member of your team went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were not only met but exceeded. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and genuine care made me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. It's evident that your staff takes great pride in providing exceptional service, and their dedication truly sets your hotel apart. Furthermore, I was thoroughly impressed by the impeccable cleanliness maintained throughout the hotel. From the lobby to my guest room, every area was spotless and well-maintained. The attention to detail in cleaning and sanitation did not go unnoticed, and it provided me with a sense of comfort and reassurance, especially during these times.

Went there for my bday weekend. The staff was nice and spoke some English. The room was good, everything was pretty new and clean. Loved the bathtub cause I could watch the TV while sitting in the tub 🤭 I also told the hotel that I planned to celebrate my birthday there in advance so they prepared some balloons for me in the room, very sweet! They also gave me a bottle of red wine as a gift which I didn’t expect at all but I really appreciate the gesture. Overall, the hotel is definitely worth staying at. Oh, I also liked the tv cause it was big
Yulia — Google review
There are only 2 things stopping me from giving this hotel the full 5 stars. 1. There is way too much light leaking into the room. They have black out curtains but on the top area so much light comes in it defeats the purpose of having black out curtains. 2. The door closing speed and sound. If this hotel (and all other hotels in Taiwan) can figure out how to have doors that close quietly and securely that would be make it a super special hotel. There must be some way to make it so doors are soft closing and quiet closing. Imagine if the hotel was full and you have all different types of guests and people start opening and closing doors from 6am all the way to check out time and you’re trying to get more sleep because you want to start your day later than others. Well thats not going to happen with these doors. Someone in the hotel industry in Asia needs to figure out how to solve this problem. Whoever solves this issue will become a rich rich person.

The room is extremely clean and posh. Love the design. The noise insulation is done so well too. Most importantly, the front desk service is the best I have ever received. Marriott always has great service to begin with (I am a titanium member lol and lives in hotels around the world 50% of the time every year, so I do have a large data set haha). To top them all says a lot about the amazing service here.

It’s a new hotel but it’s pity that hotel is not well maintained. I was in Marriott branded hotel last week in Nagoya and Tokyo, there is big different in terms of cleanliness. There is too much dust, floor is not well cleaned, toilette paper is placed in a dusty area. We don’t feel comfortable during our stay. I have been stayed in Marriott branded hotel in different cities, Amsterdam, London, different cities in USA. It’s first time that we have doubt about Marriott quality.

Thank you chef, thank you to everyone in the service team. This is my most touching birthday. The excellent service and awesome care are the main reasons why I always choose Fairfield Taichung. This hotel will always be my first choice.

Honestly after a few days stay, I would describe it as a hotel that matches the expected standard AND surprises you in a good way at certain times. Room: Clean and tidy, comfortable bed and bedsheet, air quality is okay if you switch on the aircon, separate heater is provided upon request if you’d like your room a bit warmer during this winter season. The curtain also comes in two layer (one semi-transparent and one full block) Noise from the highway can’t be really heard due to good sound-proof However, aircon may produce some noise after long time, it’s not too loud and negligible if you’re very sleepy. Breakfast: Variety local and western options. I especially liked the pastry section, they even had bread budding. I’d say everyone can find their own fav things in the breakfast restaurant. Front Desk: They are professional and friendly. They’re also prompt in resolving issues. No negative experiences encountered. Housekeeping: Friendly and professional, sometimes goes above and beyond to ensure guest convenience. Overall an excellent hotel if you want a standard business hotel with expected standard of breakfast, room and service. Location wise if you don’t mind it a little bit far away from the busy areas.

The proximity to highway was the key factor to pick this place and it certainly cuts down on the commute time. Service and breakfast is great. Dinner options around the place are good. The rooms are noisy but manageable. The room i got had the bed facing the door and parallel to the tv which made tv watching in bed difficult. overall, a good hotel but lacking a few features.
Rajesh K — Google review
It's challenging to get a taxi or Uber, with an average waiting time of 17 to 21 minutes for each ride, so planning your departure from the hotel is essential. While the cleanliness and service meet standard expectations, the breakfast is rather ordinary. Overall, it was a very standard stay at this hotel. *The hair dryer provided was incredibly slow at drying my hair. It’s took like forever to dry my hair. The airflow was so weak it felt more like my breath than an actual dryer.

Good hotel for foreigners. Good breakfast. Close walking distance to a night market and food shops. Lost a star for laundry service. My shirts still smelled like my B.O.(I was warned about this from another coworker and ignored him. My mistake, but coin laundry 2 minutes walk away. (Pants underwear and socks were fine, just my shirts)

Lishan Guesthouse is a charming accommodation with classically furnished rooms and a restaurant that offers complimentary breakfast. The building exudes traditional Chinese palace architecture, creating a beautiful ambiance, especially at night. While the equipment may be old, it is well-maintained and clean. Guests have praised the incredible variety of dishes offered at the restaurant, complemented by breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and serene ocean vistas.
Amazing service from the front desk once we arrived. Escorted us to our rooms and made sure we understood the amenities around the area. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy. Had a fantastic view of the trees outside (each room has a balcony) with the serene sounds of bird chirping during the day. I belive there are not that many hotels / guesthouses around this area that provides the same level of quality. If they do, they would demand a much higher price.

We were looking very much forward to this guesthouse but some things were disappointing. My boyfriend got severe food poisoning from the banquet dinner and there were 2-3 bugs in the room. The rooms also had a dated feel and are not very sound-proof. That being said, service staff were friendly and offered to drive my boyfriend to the clinic. The location is also undeniably beautiful with the mountain view, and the hotel grounds are very pretty. Wished we had a better experience!

Disappointing experience at an otherwise beautiful location. We were looking forward to our stay at this place due to its heritage and the classic design. For the price of over 4,000 TWD per night, we expected a half decent and clean room. Unfortunately what we found was a rundown hotel in desperate need of renovation and service improvements. The compound looks like it has seen its best days 20 years ago. The rooms are dirty and filled with mosquitoes. On top of that there was a loud banging sound from some pump throughout the night. The breakfast was terrible.

I have to say, staying at this place is absolutely amazing! The food here is just incredible, and the variety of dishes they offer is mind-blowing. From the perfectly cooked steaks to the delectable desserts, every bite is a culinary delight. And let's not forget about the view! The breathtaking scenery that greets you from every angle is simply awe-inspiring. Whether it's a stunning mountain range or a tranquil ocean vista, it's like a feast for the eyes. But what truly sets this place apart is the professionalism of the staff. They go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and valued. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing top-notch service is truly commendable. From the moment you step foot in this establishment, you can tell that they take their job seriously and genuinely care about making your stay as enjoyable as possible. It's clear that they have a passion for what they do, and it shines through in every interaction. All in all, I can confidently say that this place offers an unforgettable experience. The combination of amazing food, breathtaking views, and a highly professional staff makes it a true gem.

Quite an interesting history as it was used by Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek to greet and house visiting dignitaries back in the day. The place looks grand but some of the rooms are basic and also need upgrading. The size is okay and the beds are comfortable but our bathroom had some issues like water having difficulty flowing. Hot water is available until noon. The grounds are quite vast. The restaurant is located down some steps and meals are catered. The dinner was nice but breakfast was a little bleak. They hold events for guests like tea appreciation and also stargazing.

The place is quite good, beatyfull veiw in the morning. I did expekt more for that price, though we got the cheapest room. The hole place need more maintenance, its run down. But the rooms were clean, it was dinner included. It was supposed to be a nice dinner, but turist bus people were loud and rude. The turist guide used a loud speeker in side the restaurant, so it was really noisy.

Highly Recommended! This is a great hotel with plenty to offer. It’s within walking distance to the famous Fengjia Night Market, making it a convenient choice for foodies and shoppers. Highlights: The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, providing a relaxing stay. There’s a unique self-foot spa facility upstairs, which is a lovely bonus. The breakfast is delicious with a good variety of options. The price is affordable and offers excellent value for money. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. Great location, great amenities, and great value!

I recently stayed at In Sky Hotel and found it to be a convenient place, but there are some areas that could be improved. Some of the furniture felt old and dusty, and the toilet seat had a yellowish stain. Also, it’s not a heated toilet seat, which might be uncomfortable for those staying during cold weather. Additionally, there is no in-room dining service, which may be inconvenient for some guests. The surrounding area is very quiet during the day since most shops and restaurants nearby only open in the evening. However, once they do, the neighborhood becomes lively and bustling, offering plenty of food and shopping options. Overall, In Sky Hotel is a decent stay if you're looking for convenience, but some maintenance and service improvements would make it even better.

Hotel is clean, modern and the staff are helpful. There was a nice selection of food at the breakfast buffet. Up on the roof there is even a free foot-spa area. It's also located in a really convenient area if you are visiting Feng Chia University of the Night Market (not noisy as it's just outside the night market area).

Great location and convenience with few metres or minutes away from the heart of Fengchia. The staff are flexible and accommodating. This is specially evident by Annie as she will go for the extra miles to help me research on the operating hours of places that I wanted to visit. Really thankful and appreciated for her help. Also thanks to the other staff to fulfil our requests too! Room was clean and is very spacious. Highly recommended and will definitely return for a stay in the near future when coming back to Taichung.

This was an amazing hotel. 10/10!! The rooms had two king beds! And a super comfortable shower and large bath big enough for two. Each room had a balcony. The food was amazing, we paid (half off) for the dinner and then were also blown away by the free breakfast buffet. Perfect mix of Eastern/Western cuisine.

Excellent classy place. Had a great time even though I spent my only 1 night here. Rooms are big and spacious, beds are quite soft too. Furnishings are elegant. Breakfast is really good with many food choices. The hotel also has many facilities like gym room. My personal favourite was the library and garden on the 8th floor. Really nice hotel, but the only downside is that the toilet can't be locked!

I only booking this hotel because it was close to the doctor’s office where I was having my medical procedure. The price I paid for the room was not worth it in my opinion. The curtain was ripped. There were cobwebs hanging off the ceiling. The towels were thin and flailing at the ends. There was severe mildew on the bath stool. There was no hand soap at the sink. I knew they didn’t provide personal hygiene products when I booked the room but I didn’t expect having to bring my own hand soap. I had to use my face wash every time I want to wash my hands so I don’t have to go back and forth to the shower to pump the soap from the dispenser. I don’t know if it’s the company trying to save money masking under saving the environment or a housing keeping issue but a better jobs needs to done. There were also holes in the sheets, a dark stain on one of the pillows and the comforter smelled. I was able to get a decent sleep the first night without earplugs because there was minimal noise but there was constant door slamming, people talking throughout the next day/night that I had to wear earplugs to get any sleep at night. I went downstairs to the receptions desk and asked for some toilet paper and was told house keeping would refill it if it runs low. I advised her I didn’t opt for housekeeping. When she came back she advised she there is also extras in the drawer. Would I have come all the way down from my work if I haven’t checked the entire room?? Suffice to say, I will not be staying here again next time I’m in town because this stay was more than enough.

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE SECOND BRANCH LOCATED AT THE PORT OF TAICHUNG. YOU WILL PAY FOR IT DEARLY overall, rooms are well kept, facilities are basic but works, air conditioning is lacking in several areas due to an emphasis on electricity saving. Location is quite bad as it’s located in a rather rural area of taichung where there traffic lights doesnt even work. Buffet is pretty good.

The location of this hotel isn’t very convenient and not accessible for public transportation… The quality of the buffet is worth the price not a whole variety for dinner or breakfast… It needs more improvements to welcome more customers… The quality of the foods are not tasty as expected… As of the room service… hmm… not cleaned properly… It make you feel like the employees are lazy and not as efficient if the problem comes up… The service of the front desk is not efficient and not effective on asked to be done service…. So!! If I have friends coming to Taichung I certainly won’t recommend anyone in this chain branch hotel… I think the owner and employees should be aware over the comments given in google for a better business on the future… It is a disappointing for the price and quality…

Pros: - Helpful and friendly staff - High CP值, as the locals would say - Has pool, hot + cold tubs Cons: - Doesn't provide bathrobes for guests to use when using pool and tubs - Room temperature control not working despite whole load of functions; woke up to freezing levels even though a/c was set to heat function and 26 degrees Celsius - Location a little out of the way if you don't drive and rely on public transport Tip 1: there's a coffee machine in the lobby area near reception that dispenses excellent ☕ Tip 2: loads of meal options and convenience stores around the area especially near the main thoroughfare.

This rating is based on their supposedly 4 star hotel which was extremely disappointing. We stayed in a 2-bedroom room. The decor were a bit old, but clean enough. Nothing to rave about. The swimming was on the roof top, and rather small. In the late afternoon, it was so packed with people, it was more like a big bath tub. This was more of a 3-star hotel, even then, I wouldn't recommend it.

Stayed here after I had a very pleasant surprise in the group’s Hotel de Chine in Taipei. This branch in Taichung however is something totally different. Old, feels like right out of the 1960s, and very localized. Was looking forward to a breakfast like in Hotel de Chine but nope, didn’t happen. Won’t come again, it’s def not a “luxurious hotel” like the group advertises on their web page.

Nestled in the heart of Taichung, Phoenix Hotel Taichung offers a delightful blend of comfort and whimsy, making it an ideal destination for families. The hotel features uniquely designed rooms that range from understated elegance to playful themes, ensuring a cozy stay for all guests. One of its standout attractions is the expansive space-themed kids' play center, complete with trampolines and blocks that promise hours of entertainment for little ones.
Rooms were clean, good bathroom and shower and everything was fulfilling, abit compact. Definitely not luxury, but in the center of city, provided all necessities. Very child-friendly, has a floor for children to play. No parking outside, outside of hotel is cluttered, no walkable footpath with motorcycles that don’t stop at anything. nice buffet with a wide range of foods, no bacon or some other western foods though. Had high quality gelato and sorbet. Has a stop for food delivery. Room service is normal.

Voted by my kid as the best hotel of the trip. 1. big big big play area upstairs 2. big big big breakfast buffet with everything to eat 3. the room was big big big with lots of beds, open space, car bed, big bathtub etc. WOW. Service was good, no special needs. There is a carpark actually, the entrance is round the back, but the elevator leads straight into the hotel building. Pretty much a walk to anything around town, which I didn't appreciate much of. Feels like taxis and cars all the time, doesn't feel walkable too much. Old narrow streets, few pavements etc. Malls are far away. V close to the Chun Shui Tang tho.

The room that cost more than NTD$7,000 a night has no windows and no washlet made me a bit stunned. The playground on the 9th floor is spacious and well designed for little children. Brunch is extraordinary with high CP value!

Phoenix Hotel made out stay in Taichung a pleasant one! The staff were friendly and helpful. We needed to buy an essential item online (for our two year old daughter) using a Taiwanese shopping app but it was not available for us to download, so we asked if the staff could do us a favour and purchase it for us. They helped to ask the seller if there was stock and if it could be delivered asap. Unfortunately due to typhoon it would not be delivered to us in time. Nevertheless, we were grateful for their willingness to help us. They continued to search online to see if we could purchase the item at any nearby department stores. The room we booked was clean and spacious for two adults and a toddler. We were able to fit a portacot in the room for our daughter. Our daughter loved playing in the hotels playroom! There were a variety of activities for children - dress ups and role playing, car racing, slides and climbing equipment, and a couple of arcade games. The play areas were large and spacious. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning! There was so much food to choose from and it was all very delicious. From a variety of breads and spreads, cereals, salads, cold drinks, tea, coffee, dim Sims, Korean food, Taiwanese food, Chinese food, Japanese food, western food, and even haagen dazs icecream! Location-wise, I think we were further away from Taichung's CBD but riding an uber to get around was very convenient. Overall, a great hotel :)

Airline Inn Taichung Green Park Way is a unique hotel with an airline theme, offering unfussy rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and a lobby lounge. Located just 2 minutes away from Park Land and Kuangsan SOGO department store, the hotel provides luxurious accommodations reminiscent of first-class airplane cabins, complete with murals of stars and night skylines.
Wonderful hotel, great for families with children. It is conveniently located in Taichung, near SOGO, right next to Watson’s, near bus stations, and many other shops, cafes, and restaurants. I highly recommend for their great guest service at the front desk and the friendly housekeeping team. The breakfast is delicious, and there is a wide variety of western and Asian dishes. Affordable for families, I definitely recommend staying here. I do have a few suggestions though, mainly getting new carpets and towels. While the carpets did not smell and the towels were still fully functional, it would be nice if the carpets looked cleaner and the towels were fluffy and didn’t have hanging threads. The other guests staying were pretty polite and quiet overall, but I did notice the noise from the streets was noticeable during the day.

Located in an extremely convenient area, close to many great restaurants and extremely walkable to places of interest. Service is impeccable. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful during our weeklong stay here. Daily housekeeping was also completed to high standards while we were away. The daily breakfast was good, variety was slightly small and most of the main dishes were repeated daily like the porridge, buns, fruits, cereals and bakery items. No complaints there though. FYI, the rooms are huge. Overall this was a good place to stay and I’d highly recommend choosing this location when visiting Taichung.

Not a good value! Stayed three night at this hotel. This dated hotel has no personal characteristic of a Hotel, more like a convention  center that have large plain rooms. Pros:good location, large room, attentive staff Cons: Poor breakfast, if you need a western style food, you will find almost nothing to eat. Musty/stale smell in room.  Old discolored carpet with stains. We had to move rooms on first night due to water from shower entering the room's  carpet. On second day they fumigate our room WHILE WE HAD ALL OUR CLOTHS AND SOME OPEN SNACKS  SPREAD OUT. We did not want to cause a scene, however, since the fumigation we experienced throat irritation. I was telling the front desk that fumigate an occupied room can be hazardous. They just replied "sorry, sorry "

The location is awesome, with many restaurants in walking distance. The parking is limited and not spacious honestly speaking, so we didn’t drive around after the check-in was finished, but perhaps taking public transportation could be an option, in that case. The breakfast was ok for this price range and the service was great as you could see constant checking and replenishing by the staff, which was a plus as in some hotels, it takes a long time to have dishes replenished. The taste of food varies, but service quality is good.

My family has been staying here for years and will continue to do so! The location is great; right next to the Sogo which has so many restaurants and even a supermarket on the ground floor. Plus there are a lot of other shops and restaurants within walking distance, a Family Mart and 7-11 in the same block, and you can see the bus stop from the entrance. The rooms are very spacious and clean. There are different configurations to almost every room. I stayed in a single, my parents stayed in a double king, and my brother's family stayed in a double queen room. You can also select an interior room with no windows, which seems a little weird at first but means it's really quiet. The bathrooms come with a washlet and a nice deep bathtub that's separate from the shower and they provide amenities like toothbrushes, combs, etc. The front desk staff are always very friendly and helpful. My parents would ask them to call taxis for us a lot. The cleaning staff are FAST. I'd be gone for an hour, turn on the housekeeping request button, and it would be done by the time I returned! One of my favorite parts of the hotel is the breakfast buffet. I stayed there for over a week, and every morning the buffet was a little different so it didn't get boring. There was a different soup each time, different hot dishes, etc. There was always bread, fresh fruit, salad, different steamed buns, sweet potatoes, a type of fried potato (like tater tots or fries), a type of steamed dumpling (like shumai), different sauteed veggies, congee with all the toppings, hot soymilk, hot black tea, coffee, juices, and made to order omelets!

The Cloud Hotel is a 4-star hotel situated in Taichung City with newly renovated rooms and free Wi-Fi. The hotel offers comfortable beds and excellent control over the AC, making it a great choice for those looking for a quiet night sleep. The breakfast buffet is also excellent, with everything from Chinese pancakes to pastries and eggs cooked to your desired liking.
We paid about NT2000 per nite for a room for 3 adults, spacious, clean, quiet, confortable bed & pillows. Many little pleasant surprises that this hotel offers that we rarely encounter for its price. A big bathtub, a nice clean shower, and a filtered drinking water tab next to the sink. We arrived around 12 noon, without asking, the reception let us check into our room without any early fee as the room was ready. The breakfast menu was big, from fried noodles to porridge, some vegetable and chicken/pork dishes, toasts, sausages, salad, etc. No voucher is needed. You can have as many rounds if you like from 7am to 10am. They serve free popcorn, ice cream with cones, herbal eggs, biscuits, coffee, and tea throughout the day at the dining hall. You can just help yourself. Laundry and dryer service are free. You can buy a small pack of washing powder from reception at NT20 each. There are laundry baskets for your convenience, too. Some parking at the back of the hotel and basement with the car lift. Staff at the front desk and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly too. The hotel is on a busy street. A spacious, minimalist and comfortable room: a bathroom, a flat-screen TV, a convenient light switch, good air conditioning, a soft bed and, most importantly, check-out at 12 noon😍

The Cloud Hotel October 16,17,18 Deluxe double room. Arriving at 4PM, no one was around. Coffee machine in the lobby. Waited 30 min to get our room. Very simple, basic room but looks clean. Not deluxe.,.. WiFi , shower work well. Few ac outlets. No bidet, no night light. Breakfast is a mix of Chinese and western dishes, nothing warm. You won't leave hungry. Breakfast needs to be better, can be noisy at times. Bed ok. Very quiet night. OK overall stay. Very helpful front desk staff.

taichung - the cloud hotel (“Business Double Room”) (100rm per night per pax) through agoda pros: 1. 7-10am breakfast at the lobby 2. 24h 2 laundry machines two dryers, 20twd per packet of washing powder from counter 3. 茶叶蛋 at lobby and refilled with schedule (didn’t get to eat but i think good to have!) 4. drinkable water tap (altho in toilet right beside the basin tap) but i think it’s coooool, ez replenish! 5. consider quite spacious (20m square) we took this room 6. has their own bicycle to rent! (gotta leave your id with the counter) 7. location quite good for me? 50% uber 50% walking 8. family mart across the road or down the street cons: 1. not walkable from highspeed rail or train stations, but i don’t really care coz i have luggages and prefer to uber anyway haha and places i wanna go is usually walkable! note: counter availble 24h

Clean, room is spacious and modern. Good location (busy shopping neighborhood), nice free services (bikes, food, drinks, laundry...) Difficult to communicate with staff Breakfast is nice but very cliché, the same as every other hotel in Taiwan, no originality
Bruno F — Google review
Pros: location in the central district was very convenient. Taichung is a huge sprawling city so there will inevitably be places that will be far away to get to. But getting an Uber from and back to the hotel was very easy. Admittedly, I didn’t bother with the bus/train as it would have taken too long to get around so can’t comment on convenience of public transport. Breakfast was good. Nice variety but it is quite similar daily. Geared for Asians though which worked fine for me. Coffee/tea and snacks like crackers, tea eggs and ice cream are available from 4pm which was also quite convenient and you can make use of the restaurant area to eat your takeaway meals. The room is fairly spacious for Taiwan standards. Wifi was fairly fast. Water pressure in the shower is great. Cons: The service is not the friendliest. The room make up is inconsistent even though we had put on the make up room light, no one came so we had rubbish bins not thrown out. When you have to put used toilet paper in the bin from 4 people, the smell does become a bit much. Besides that, the plumbing of the toilet has a problem. Expect the smell of sewage to emit from all around the toilet bowl each time you flush which then permeates the whole bathroom and lingers in the room. Aircon doesn’t work as it should. It’s either on or off despite being able to change the settings so i was up several times each night switching it off when too cold and back on when it got too stuffy. Overall, for the price, because the breakfast was good, I’d say ok to stay. But I would look for a different place next time I go as I really cannot handle the sewage stink from the toilet.

Fushin Hotel Taichung is a 4-star establishment located in the heart of Taichung City. It offers air conditioned rooms and free WiFi in public areas. There is also a gym and 24-hour business center available for guests' use. The front desk has multilingual staff on hand to help with dry cleaning/laundry, concierge services, and securing valuables.
This is a normal hotel and it is superior than many hotels in Taichung such as Twinstar, Evergreen or Splendor. It is clean and comfortable. Cursed rate: 0% Broken rate: 0% Failure rate: 0% A tier hotel

Overall, had a comfortable stay and my room was clean. Breakfast was lovely. The reason for the three stars was that if you can't get away in the morning without housekeeping seeing you, the housekeeper (at least the one on my floor) tries to force you to stay and watch her make up your room - which is a big issue when you have to meet up with others downstairs!! I was surprised we were expected to watch others do their jobs. Otherwise it was good. Thank you!

The room is great, bed is large. It is also clean. Daily housekeeping. Loved the buffet breakfast, plentiful of vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast staff are hard working, helpful and prompt. The reception always has an English speaking person, all helpful. Special mention of Evie Jiang, outstanding service, genuinely wanting to help. Went above and beyond her role to sort out travel glitches for us. She is a true example of customer service at it's best ! Thank you!

Best hotel you can stay at. Very accommodating. Free breakfast and staffs are very helpful and attentive. If I go back to Taiwan I will definitely be booking this hotel.

The rooms are SPACIOUS n pretty quiet, couple walk from small supermarket n restaurants, breakfast buffet was simple, there are some teas - coffee available in your room.
Mai N — Google review
A really cozy and tidy business hotel. Not too fancy but could tell it's a refurbished hotel. Pretty good condition and location where near the train station. Facilities and amenities were sufficient. It is definitely a great business hotel to stay for short period. The only pity was the lazy/tired look of the front desk. Of course you couldn't have too much help nor welcoming from him as well.

This is a good hotel that is well located at the old town Taichung city with a walking distance to rail station. The taxi to the nearby markets are within 100 Taiwan dollars. The rooms are big and clean. They are not luxurious but good enough for a good night sleep. The service is good too.

Nestled in Xitun, Treeart Hotel is a chic and upscale accommodation with a distinctive facade adorned with unique hollowed-out patterns. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and boasts two restaurants on-site. Guests can enjoy free WiFi throughout the property and are just a short 5-minute drive from the vibrant Fengjia Night Market. The hotel's attention to detail and friendly staff create an exceptional experience for guests, who also appreciate the thoughtful amenities provided by 'Ah Yuan.'
Booked my stay for a Friday night the day before for $66 USD. This place is well designed and clean. The room is a bit on the small side, but no complaints given the price paid for the room. One thing to note is that the day after I checked out, I realized I left my Gucci ring in the room. Long story short, my ring was delivered the day after that. Much appreciated Treeart!

Except for the view, this hotel is in a modern design and room is very clean. Staffs are all friendly and formally suited. Pro: 1) Inexpensive 2) Nice design and clean room Cons: 1) Staffs didn’t come out to help our luggage when bus arrived. 2) Seats in dinning room of breakfast are insufficient. Delivery of ordered meals are also a bit disordered.

Pro - Clean room. Toilet equipped with Japanese bidet. - essential oil for vaporizer freshens the room - great restaurants nearby. Italian was good. Reservation needed for the grill restaurant Lao Jing. Sushiro for conveyor belt sushi - breakfast was good especially the beef stew and chicken burger. - convenience stores nearby - free use of washing machine and dryer Cons - Little English spoken -

Always 1st option while visiting Taichung, the room and bed is comfortable, price seems to be fair. The location is good, Starbucks is nearby and not much noise car pass through.

Treeart hotel is a petite luxury hotel with character. It located not too far from the famous night-market of Taichung. Great value. The staffs and management team pays good attention to the details. I love the shower gel and shampoo provided in the room. There’re bikes you can rent for the day to roam around the city (not recommend during summer heat) Will come back again in the future.

Hotel Z is a clean and simple hotel with a free breakfast buffet. It's located close to the city centre, making it an ideal choice for travellers on a budget. The rooms come equipped with flat-screen TVs and are simple but comfortable.
The room is small but cozy, clean, and well-equipped with amenities like toothbrushes. The beds are exceptionally soft and comfortable, with adjustable positions that allow you to lift the bed for added convenience. The hotel is conveniently located near a night market, making it easy to explore the area. However, getting to the hotel from the HSR station via public transport can be inconvenient, as it takes over an hour. I recommend taking an Uber or a cab for a faster and more comfortable journey. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely consider staying here again if I visit Taichung.
Bill G — Google review
Place is done up well, rooms are clean and toilet even has the japanese high tech toilet. The place is away from the bustle but conviniently connected to the city. It is a short walk to the night market and also easy to uber to other places too.

Not located on the main street, hence away from street noise. Easy to locate, there are a lot of eateries and convenient stores around, all within walking distance. Nice and comfortable room with all essential amenities provided in the guest room. No complaint, will stay again in our future visit.

I have no idea why this hotel rating can be so high I got more than 40 red dots on my legs n body after 3 nights stay for this hotel..initially we booked 2 triple rooms and they upgraded us to 2 double bed rooms..but really nightmare for us..the room looks clean but not the bed..as 5 of us kena bed bugs bite out of 6 include 1 year old babies..it’s terrible And location wise..not beside fengjia night market..you need walk 10 minutes to reach fengjia night market..quite far actually

Actually clean, but not so comfortable because of the smelly toilet. Lighting also a bit dark. And not recommended for light sleeper cus can hear other customers voice.

Clean and good size rooms. Complete Service including Parking place in the underground of the building. Correct price for the arrangement.

We had our 2-night-stay here and the experience was unforgettably pleasing. The polite staff, decent daily Japanese style breakfast sets, rooms with noise-cancelling floor, spacious spotless toilet, comfy and unique electronic height-adjustable beds...It's difficult to identify a certain point to complain about the hotel in my opinion. Hotel Z will be on our go-to list whenever we happen to visit Taichung again.
Gemma C — Google review
We stayed here for 2 nights, we stayed in the top room with a patio and separate bedroom. Forgot to add breakfast when booking, front desk was nice enough to tell us to come down in the morning and check if we like the food or not before paying NT150 for breakfast. Our friends say Hotel Z has the best beds (not too hard) on their 12 day (9 different hotels) trip in Taiwan, we agree. They have indoor and outdoor parking for taller vehicles. Only thing that can improve was the bathroom floor and shower floor can use a good scrubbing. Other than that we would love to stay here again in the future.

Hostel
Star Hostel Taichung Parklane is a trendy and eco-friendly hostel located on the top floors of Green Park Lane Shopping Centre, offering a unique skyline view of the city. The hostel provides plain yet comfortable quarters with an industrial-chic lounge and a terrace that overlooks the city. Its convenient location near various amenities such as restaurants, cafes, and stores makes it an ideal choice for travelers.
I had a wonderful three days and two nights at Star Hostel! The interior design is minimalist yet cozy. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the bed was super comfy, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious, and the location is fantastic, with a variety of great food options just minutes away by foot. The staff are all lovely, and I want to give a special thanks to Cara, who patiently answered all my questions about Taichung and gave me tons of recommendations for must-visit places, foods, and activities. Overall, the hostel had such a homey feel that it felt like a temporary home away from home. Highly recommend!

Definitely will stay here if I come TaiChung again!! Really love the environment here💗 It’s really clean and comfy to stay 👍🏻 One more thing! We met a pretty staff from Malaysia, she is really nice and friendly 💖 The most important is her handmade pound cake really really nice!! You MUST try it! 🍰

Booked a 8 person dorm with my friend and we enjoyed it very much. At first we thought because they only had 8 Person dorms it would be too loud but no problems at all (which although says more about the guests). Apart from that the amenities are very good and because it's on top of a mall you have a great view and if you don't wanna go outside to eat there is a food court in the mall. Lastly, also very comfortable place to chill in the common area.

Based in the central of Taichung, this hostel has wonderful location and amazing breakfast I ever had before. And especially the staff Yvonne, she is really nice and provides warm service. Everyone should have a taste for her bakery cookies and cakes. Environment is also great, I have to recommend for you guys. If you want to have a great trip in Taichung, pls consider this.

This is probably the best hostel I've ever stayed during my travels! The space is really relaxing, cosy and bright with plenty of natural light. The location is superb being right in the centre of shops, restaurants and public parks/ spaces. The rooms were very quiet, clean and comfortable making for a very well rested trip. Breakfast is included and they feature a simple selection of porridge, toast and a hot meal that rotates throughout the week. Finally the crew were super friendly and nice to talk to, especially Cara who helped to recommend places and even retrieve my lost luggage 😅. Would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend it!

This was one of the best hostels l've ever been! Very friendly staff, very good breakfast, very good location, nice and comfortable beds. Especially the concept with divided locker rooms is a really good idea! I visited the science museum and the art museum from there, both can be reached by YouBike or by walk. Did I already mention the view from the 15th floor? Great! Highly recommended! If I ever come back to Taichung I'll stay at Star Hostel Taichung Parklane!

The nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Lovely staff, great breakfast, beautiful rooms and common space. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely come again! Also stunning view
Gina S — Google review
With the lobby located on the 15th floor rooftop of the building, there is only elevator access, which is located at the SW corner of the building, within the mall which comprises the first three floors of the building. Check is promptly at 3PM. Star Hostel is a duplex, with the guest rooms on the 14th floor, down a flight of stairs. The 15th floor is then the common area, which is a quiet, Japanese style tatami seating area. The dining room is behind the common room and there is an outdoor roof top bar, which is operated till 11PM. Though the bar looks like a for-profit business, it is also a common area, where one can bring their own food and drink, while relaxing in the breeze, or watching the sunset. Overall, because of the premium location and roof top access, Star feels more like a hotel than a hostel as paying hotel guests do demand bartending service, as such the atmosphere is less social than someplace with a living room style setup. In addition there is no kitchen access and only a small, under counter refrigerator is available for guests, it would be difficult for extended stays. Star serves a rotating menu for breakfast, which is high quality, along with a fixed select of breads and congee. Coffee is also made from freshly ground beans though the automatic machine. The shower rooms are equipted with "rainfall" shower heads. Compared to it's sister hostel near Taipei Main Station, the quality and design are similar and too notch, a fine choice for the "executive" backpacker. The difference being Taipei has full kitchen access and a living room.

Guests can also indulge in spa treatments at the hot tub or unwind in the steam room. Free WiFi and parking are available for added convenience. Known for its spacious rooms, Lanshy Motel is popular for hosting birthday parties with its large square footage, private BBQ area, and swimming pool in the largest room.
Great for motel parties. Private BBQ and pool, KTV room connecting the outside patio. Be careful not to flood the room or bathe in the pool, that’s how you lose your deposit.
